my funeral dress
I don’t want it to be my funeral dress.
After the funeral, I washed the dress and hung it in my closet. Anytime I would want to wear it, I would tell myself that it was my funeral dress, so I couldn’t possible wear it on a normal day.
My fear was that it would bring back memories. I was afraid the pain I sometimes forgot would return and I had no business purposely inflicting heartache on…

Today I decided to share with you my audience and my followers who I am. What I look like is who I am. My face is me. My face showcases who I wanted to look like when I was a kid. I am happy on this picture and I am grateful to have this blog so that I can share my knowledge with the people who align with me.
Happy Sunday everyone ❤️🧡❤️

Black people did not "come to this country seeking a better life."
They were kidnapped from their homes in Africa, dragged in chains and loaded onto slave ships. Treated not like human beings but like things, commodities to be traded and used to enrich others.
Tens of millions of enslaved Africans died before even reaching America, so terrible were the conditions on the slave ships. Those who survived the trip and were then sold to plantation owners.

This was #me on the way to see my grandpa for the last time. en-route to Dambatta. He barely recognized me, but he eventually did. I don’t blame him though, I wouldn’t recognize all my grandchildren as a centenarian with a long lineage. May his soul rest in jannatul firdaus, Ameen.

White supremacists will purposefully show the worst slums of former colonized spaces and then the best part of colonial architecture and then be like.:
"See these people can't run anything on their own, they need us. If colonialism was so bad, then the nations would look better. Why does every country they touch end up worse than when we leave?"
