NEWS UPDATE ON THE DEAD CELLS PLAYTHROUGH (also, a little review for the road so far)

I killed him. The game let me kill him. THE GAME LET ME KILL THIS FUCKING DECREPIT OLD ASS MOTHERFUCKER KING BITCH LOSER. I DID IT!! I TOOK THAT COOL AS FUCK WEAPON (That fight was tough as shit but I finally did it with good enough synergies) AND FUCKING BROKE THE BARRIER AND RAN HIM THROUGH WITH HIS BODYGUARD’S OWN WEAPON. FUCK YOU BITCH YOU’RE DEAD! DEAD AS HELL! IT DOESN’T FUCKING MATTER WHO YOU ARE TO ME ANYMORE BECAUSE I DID A KILL AND YOUR BODY FUCKING EXPLODED AND KILLED ME BUT NOW I CAN SEPARATE MY HEAD FROM MY BODY SO THATS COOL. 

However...it isn’t over. I got a new difficulty level. I need to make sure his body is gone again. I need to make sure he’s dead for real. I no longer need to obsess over whether I am the King’s kid or some shit because he’s dead. Is this what freedom feels like? Is this joy? 

Anyways, 10/10 rogue-like experience, 8/10 game. The gameplay is excellent, in fact it’s my personal favorite of any game I’ve played that isn’t a metroidvania, but imo the ‘environmental lore’ doesn’t really work in a procedurally generated environment where important rooms for the lore sometimes just straight up don’t spawn. And even when they do a player could easily miss them if they’re in a tight spot and just need to leave the level ASAP, which is the spot I’m in every time I enter High Peak Castle. Plus there are barely any ‘characters’ to speak of who aren’t just lore characters or bosses (again, that could change with other difficulty levels), so TBH it’s hard to get attached to the kingdom we’re blitzing our way through. But as far as ‘rogue-likes’ go, I doubt you can get one better than this, especially in the gameplay department. I’m not even GOOD at this game and I adore the gameplay, imagine how good it is for people who AREN’T BAD AT MOST GAMES. Plus, the soundtrack is excellent and the wittiness within what little dialogue/inner monologue we get makes the experience even more fun. This game is already worth the $50-ish (including DLCs) I paid for it, and I’ve only beaten it once. But bear in mind that this game is designed to kick your ass, so if you just want a casual game or a game that you can pick up and beat pretty quickly, this might not be the game for you. It took me about 50 hours to beat it once at the base difficulty, and a solid 20 hours of that was without even beating Timekeeper once. It’s a rogue-like at its core, for better and for worse. In my opinion, the pros far outweigh the cons and I’ll probably continue playing this game for a very long time.

In his head he and Falin would move back to the Eastern Archipelago and they'd see Laios twice a year tops. You can pretend to get along with in-laws you don't like for a few days a year, people do that all the time.

The actual flaw in his plan– which shows he doesn't really understand either of the Touden siblings– is the fact that if the plot hadn't happened and Falin had for some reason said yes to his proposal, Laios would have packed his bags and moved away with them instantly.

you worry the cardboard sleeve around the coffee and think about landfills and the future without straws. you are worried about prion disease and deer. you are worried about the rising temperature of mushrooms. you are worried about teflon and microplastics and carcinogens and whatever else you're being quietly lied to about.

your mother used to jokingly say you are "a worrier," which always kind of oddly hurt your feelings. you feel like a person. and besides, you've been told one-million-times that this is normal. examples get trotted out in a pony show each time: everyone gets nervous sometimes. they talk about public speaking and picturing people naked and how when they get nervous they just-get-over-it.

you run your hands down the grater of your life and feel the sharpness. you started holding your breath in tunnels as a kid, worried that if you relax, the ceiling would cave in. like years of architects and engineers weren't responsible - you, and your faith, you were responsible for the success of infrastructure. if you slipped for a moment, your whole family would be swept away under the ocean. and the problem is that it worked - no tunnel collapsed.

you once broke a coffee carafe and even though you didn't drink from it after, you worried that there had been some previous invisible micro-break that had made you drink glass particles. you stayed awake for 24 hours, constantly dreading each swallow, waiting to taste blood.

you hate being late, you worry about it. you go to grab literally just lunch with a friend - no pressure, no emergency - and you still park the car an hour early and just sit there scrolling on your phone aimlessly. maybe you just don't like surprises or change. you triple-check you locked the doors, and then go to bed, and then get up out of bed to check twice again.

a worrier. like a strange and dreadful bingo card, you collect weekly experiences. someone tells you that you're overthinking, that's 2 points. you have to physically turn around and go back in your house to check you unplugged everything, that's 1 point. spiraling about climate change or politics or the state of the world is a free space, that's basically every evening.

you worry you're being selfish and not a good person because how come you're worried about your dog's health and the itch in your eye when you know people who are really very ill or who have it worse or who are genuinely struggling. then you worry that you're being annoying by infantilizing them. then you worry that your priorities are wrong, that you should be infinitely more worried about the state of a dying planet.

you wanted to be a person, is all. you wanted to go through life in a softness, to hold the world gently and have it whisper past you. and instead you are a worrier. everything that touches you is hard and raw and sharp like diamonds.

Is it a stupid idea? Yes. Did I have to go overboard and animate it? No.

Steve looking up at Uncle Wayne as the father figure he never had. Unlike his dad, he doesn’t cheat or disappear from his life when things get tough. Eddie loves it because it means he can see his boyfriend even more. It’s all fun and games until Steve goes to his father figure to complain about his boyfriend leaving him at a McDonald’s after a fight they had. Then Eddie has to deal with an upset boyfriend, a disappointed uncle, and an angry Robin to boot.

He has no choice but to take desperate measures. Eddie tells Hopper that Wayne is trying to take his “cool dad” spot in the Party and watches the chaos unfold.

By time anyone realizes what he’s done, he’s made up with Steve and escapes another murderous rage by the skin of his teeth. Mission accomplished, indeed.

I feel a lot of belief that “trans women obviously have it worse than trans men” it comes from assuming men & women are opposites & that their experiences must be opposite as well. As in, if trans women experience one thing, trans men must experience the opposite—but that’s not how it works in practice. Trans women are demonized and sexualized doesn’t mean trans men aren’t as well. Trans women feeling less safe after transition doesn’t mean trans men feel more safe. And transmasculinity being considered disgusting mutilation doesn’t translate to the opposite for transfemininity! I just wish we would stop comparing experiences as though they can be quantified & pitted against one another.

The poster is in a public space where it is typical for everyday people to post things. It is not someone's private property or possession. Think piece of paper taped to a telephone pole, not sign in a storefront or in someone's yard.

The poster is not protected by law; you are very unlikely to face legal consequences for vandalizing it.
