rewatching 'lucrezia giovane' (1974), and what makes it unique and hilarious from all the borgia family-related media, is that the film starts with lucrezia in her monastic retreat, and she's having an affair with juan behind cesare's back, and cesare is sending spies to spy on both lucrezia and juan because he's suspicious of them. and when he finds out that they're fucking, he accuses juan of forcing himself on lucrezia then he jealously murders him. this is all just the opening of the film btw! cesare insists on terrorizing lucrezia throughout the film while she's running away from him after what he did to juan, until she gives up and gives herself to him...chilling as hell ngl more people need to see it.
