Tumblr media
You stared at yourself through your phone camera, fixing minimum details on your hair and makeup, making sure you looked perfect and snapped some pictures of your outfit, happy with the result.
“How do I look?” You asked, doing a little spin to show your whole outfit, turning around to look at your boyfriend, who stood on the door frame, leaning his weight against it. “I think I did a pretty good job, especially with the makeup; what do you think?” You fidgeted with your fingers in anticipation, hoping for his approval. After all, the biggest Takada fan here was him.
Todo was speechless. The fact that you took your time to cosplay his favourite idol had his heart rattling in his chest and his cock half-hard by how good you looked right now.
"You look great, breathtaking even," Words faltered to describe what you were making him feel right now, his mind already flooding with thoughts of what he'd do to you if he had the time right now.
You giggled, standing on tiptoe to give him a short kiss. "Thank you, baby. Let's go to that meet and greet before we're late."
-
"Fuck- Baby, I’m sorry. I know I said I'd wait till we got home but- " Todo groaned, groping the fat of your ass as he pumped in and out of you languidly. He wasn't actually sorry, but he hoped you could forgive him for putting you in a compromising situation like this, at a convention of all places. “I can’t keep my hands off you when you look like this, so cute f'me,” He sighed, his eyes fixed on his girth thrusting in and out and stretching your tight cunt.
You covered your mouth to silence your moans, the adrenaline rushing through your veins as Todo fucked you in the bathroom stall. Your heart pounded in your ears, you weren't sure if it was the fear of being caught in the act that made you feel more sensitive than usual, but every stroke of his cock in your insides had you on the edge. His touch burned under your skin, the air thick with your gasps and his.
"Todo, let's go home," you sobbed between quiet moans; it was becoming more difficult to quiet your sounds as his shaft kept rutting into you and you got closer to your peak, your legs quivering as the band of coiling pleasure was about to snap.
He bent over to whisper in your ear, his cologne filling your nostrils. He always smelled so good that it made you moan. "And have other men come to you and ask for pictures?" Todo clicked his teeth disapprovingly, "Nah, we're not leaving without me marking you. Let them know that Takada's cute cosplayer has a man who has her crazy for his cock," He hissed, pressing his lips on the side of your neck. You winced, feeling his mouth nibble and suck at your skin, bruising it.
So that's why Todo was so adamant about dragging you into the washroom stall and fuck you right here right now. His jealousy had gotten the better of him when he noticed other men - losers, in his words- looking at you with the same eyes he did.
"Besides, you're close, aren't you? I can feel this pretty pussy throbbing and squeezing me so good," Todo panted, his cock twitching inside you as his broad hand slipped underneath your top, pushing your bra upside to fondle your breast, playing with your hardened nipple, your whole body shuddering underneath him.
You let out a breathy sigh, borderline a whine, your pretty face contorting into a scowl, nipping at your lip to stifle your moans. You'd never get used to the girth of his cock and how full it made you feel, nor its length, feeling its thrusts kissing your cervix so deliciously up to your throat, having your breath hitching and ragged and your mind clouded.
"Todo, harder, please," you begged, turning to look at him through your glassy eyes, meeting his thrusts striking your ass against his hips.
"Are you sure, baby, you want the whole world to hear how slutty you can be when I pound your pussy?" You nodded, a pout forming on your lips, needy whines escaping you.
Todo straightened his posture, his hand sliding back to your hips, his grip firm on them; something about you cosplaying his favourite idol and being so into getting fucked in public had his cock throbbing and him going feral. "You little minx, you're gonna get us in trouble," Todo grunted lowly, a lascive grin tugging the corner of his lips, "But I can't say no to you when you look so fucking hot like this."
He picked up his pace, his hips slamming against your ass, the sounds of squelching and smacking flesh loud enough to be heard outside the washroom. "Just stay as quiet as you can, okay, doll?" Todo grunted, babbling about how tight your soppy pussy felt once he went rougher with you, pressing his hand on your belly to feel his dick massaging your walls.
You arched your back, his cock going deeper inside you, pounding that spot that had you seeing stars and drooling.
Your walls spasmed and contracted, moaning his name. Todo's thrusts became sloppy, slow but rough. "Holy fuuuckk- always so fuckin' good, you always know how to take my cock," his breath shattered, emptying himself inside you in one final powerful thrust. You whimpered, his warm load gushing out of you and littering the floor beneath you.
"Shit, such a mess you made, babe," he said, caressing the side of your ass cheek before pulling out, tucking himself back in his slacks and putting your underwear back in place - he still wanted you to keep some of his cum inside you till you got back home so he could keep fucking you good.
"You alright? I didn't mess too much of your makeup, did I?"

Hello! Not a kuro related ask but can i ask how can u tell if someone is a bot or not on tumblr? Also can they do any harm to your account?
⚠️ I originally expected to give a short answer, but there's actually a lot I can say about this, having become a regular target of bots. My blocked list has quite the collection! So it's kind of a long post.
How to spot bots and why they are bad
Some bots are easy to spot while others are not. And they are getting harder to spot, as whoever programs the bot generators is learning how to make them less noticeable. Or an AI that's been made is learning. 😳
Blog name patterns
You might have noticed how default blog urls here have four random words stuck together, and early bots used a similar pattern. But it has evolved. I recall seeing names that were two or three random words and a two digit number, typically from 20 to 50, presumably meant to be seen as a person's age. Like these:
Tumblr media
Then a different pattern was used, like two or three words then a hyphen then a number. Then another, like a first name mixed in with random words, etc. Now, it's harder to see a pattern, so some bot names now look more (or less) random... more like real blogs. If you see a new follower with a random name, it doesn't mean much, but if you see more and more followers with names that seem to fit a pattern (and it's not simply the tumblr default username pattern), then chances are, they are bots created with the same or a similar program. Here's an example of getting new followers where the names seem too random to be real but you don't really notice until you get a bunch in a row, and the randomness is itself a pattern:
Tumblr media
Profile pics that real tumblrs wouldn't choose
Often they used to have closeups of female faces. Now they still tend to have pictures of women, but not so zoomed in, and some even feature two women. Like here:
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Notice that three of the above examples follow a naming pattern of what could be actual people names and a number. The fourth is like that, too, but with a hyphen tossed in.
And bots sometimes have default profile pics that may or may not be changed later, so watch out for default pfp's that later get replaced with pics of random women. Usually young and somewhat attractive. Most of the bots are geared towards attracting hetero men, hence the female pfp's of generally attractive women. The hope is we see one of these pics and think that's actually what the blogger looks like.
Truth is, Tumblrs rarely choose pfp's like that. This isn't the kind of social media platform where we typically show our faces (unless it's a personal fashion or cosplay blog, and then we are probably wearing makeup and costumes). We choose pics of plants and animals, fictional characters, historical figures, celebrities, artwork, etc. It's unusual for us to market ourselves based on personal appearance. So, when you see a blog with a pfp that looks like it's from Instagram or LinkedIn... or from a dating profile... it's probably fake. They are just random pics found online and essentially stolen from whoever originally uploaded them.
Default header images or more random women
Usually, bots have blank or default blog header images (see the examples above). I used to see a lot of bot blogs where the pic used for the header is the same as the pfp; those usually have descriptions where it's just a name and a suggestive emoji or a name and a plug for dirty pictures. Like:
Tumblr media Tumblr media
More recently, they've started using images that show women who match or at least look like the women in their pfp's, but they aren't the same photos. Just like those pfp's, the header images are likely stolen from profiles elsewhere or random pics online. The ones that have header images that "work" with the pfp's also have a tendency to include links in their blog descriptions.
Sus blog descriptions or none at all
Most bot blogs lack blog descriptions entirely or just have a name or something about photos, like those examples above. But lately I've been seeing ones where there's a short description. In those cases, it's usually a link to who knows where, and it's best not to even find out. The text, whether there's a link or not, is usually an age (assume that's fake), something about the person's identity or preferences (often of a sexual nature), sometimes a reference to ranking on OnlyFans (it wants you to think any link there might take you to that sort of content), and a collection of oddly chosen emojis mixed into it.
Zero posts or sus posts and reblogs
A lot of legit blogs are created for the sole purpose of following content they want... and maybe asking questions, usually as anons. Those "don't follow me, I'm just lurking" type blogs rarely post or even reblog anything. Most bots also take this approach.
But some reblog sexually suggestive posts and some reblog more explicit content -- even links advertised as naughty games -- but the most realistic looking ones reblog a mix of sexual and innocuous, even innocent-looking content. As you scroll down through images of puppies, mysteriously inviting landscapes, and teacups next to open books... you eventually find images and even sometimes gifs of very mature content. Often with suggestive emojis and links that should be avoided at all costs. Some even just make one or two posts with links and leave the blogs untouched for years. Like this one:
Tumblr media Tumblr media
This blog only has one post, and it's from 2019. Claims about some free training program that'll earn you large incomes. Notice the tags on it are kind of generic, and some don't fit, like #home #decor #gardening. But it's a link to... something.
They might try to chat, but what they say is sus
It's very rare, in my experience, but I will occasionally get a dm from a random blog that just doesn't sit right.
Sure, sometimes a new follower will contact me to let me know they found my blog and enjoy it. Even longtime, mostly silent readers/followers will occasionally decide to reach out and privately tell me they were a particular anon in an ask... or simply that they finally found the nerve to say hi. That's all fine and dandy.
But when a new follower (who doesn't seem to share interests with you or has interests that don't match your blog topic) or a random content blog that doesn't even follow you just dms with "hi" or "how are you?", I get very suspicious it's just a bot. Their blog might look default or not but lacks content. It might be full of content that simply has nothing to do with your content. And they send a random starter message, completely open to your response. You can test them by asking if they are a bot. If they ignore that and respond with something like "I'm lonely" or "what are you doing tonight?", they are definitely a bot. If they say "no I'm not a bot" (or something like that) then ask leading questions like the "what are you doing" one, they might not be a bot, but they are likely just phishing/scamming.
One of the best tests is to ask them what they think about your own blog posts. If they ignore that and act like they might be following a script? Bot. If they say something very generic, like "I like it a lot" but immediately change the subject back to personal questions or something phishy (might also be a bit scripted)? Scammer. Either way, best to report the chat as spam, which will also remove the conversation from your view.
It's often not one thing but a combination
If you get followed by a blog that looks completely default, the best thing to do is maybe dm them to ask if it's a real person/legit blog. If they don't respond within a decent timeframe, they might just be too shy, but chances are they are a bot. If they respond with something that feels too general or scripted, probably either a bot or a scammer -- some are sleepers that wait for you to contact them. But a blog just being default doesn't mean it's bad; it could be a shy lurker or it could be someone new to tumblr who hasn't chosen pics, themes, etc. yet.
However, if you see a follower pop up (either new or their blog has changed since they started following), and the blog has some combo of the traits mentioned above, chances are super high it's a bot.
What bots do
I'm not entirely certain about all the different things they can do, and some of the things are likely more harmful than others.
I've gleaned a few ideas from posts I've read about the bots, though, including a good one I saw that had been reblogged by Neil Gaiman. I reblogged it from him, though I might have moved it to @aby-off-topic.
My understanding is that the same creator (person or program) makes a whole bunch of them. And there are probably many different individual creators, each making large groupings of them. Some of the bot blogs have content, usually of a sexual nature but occasionally not, like cryptocurrency or some random-sounding business venture. Those will have links to other sites, though some might actually link to other, related blogs in the same grouping. The content blogs also tend to be full of various tags, typically reusing key tags copied from the posts they reblog. If they have "original" posts, those will probably have the same key tags. The grouped content blogs boost each other and make their suspicious content become more noticeable to users who follow certain tags. It mostly clutters those tags with useless content, annoying those tag followers. But the point of them is to lure in the occasional individual who doesn't know any better; once they click a link, they could fall victim to stuff like:
Automatic exposure to malware
Mature content that requires payment (and might steal personal and financial information at the same time)
Phishing attacks of various kinds
Cryptocurrency and/or NFT scams
Companies that sell fake products (like cheap knockoffs, items that just don't work as promised, and items that are never shipped and might not even exist in stock/inventory)
People who try to recruit for MLM (multi level marketing), pyramid schemes, and similar money pits. These days it could still include wasteful timeshare programs, but now there are AirBnB scams and all sorts of things. Something that requires a time and money commitment and promises profit or some other benefit, but it just drains your energy and funds. Someone profits, but it's not you.
The bots that have no content except links in their descriptions are just hoping someone clicks. Then the unwitting person might fall prey to the same things listed above.
Bots that just follow but have zero content? Well, that's possible but not always true. The ones that truly have zero content might want you to interact with them in messages. Other bots don't have any posts or reblogs, but they might allow you to see the posts they've ❤️'d and/or the blogs they follow. You have to check out their Likes and Follow tabs to get this information, so it makes the blogs seem kind of legit and innocent. You are snooping around their blog, after all, right? But some of the posts they "like" and some of the blogs they follow will send unsuspecting individuals down a rabbit hole that might quickly lead to content blogs with those same suspicious links and too-good-to-be-true schemes.
Harming your blog
Ultimately, their main goals are to part people from their money and steal information. But they can cause problems for your blog, too. Like:
Decreased exposure 1: By making your posts disappear in a sea of junk posts with the same tags, it might be harder for new readers to find your content that matches their interests.
Decreased exposure 2: Similarly, people who follow certain tags and typically read your content that way might stop following those tags. They might choose to follow you directly, but they might not. They might unfollow a tag and then realize they don't recall your blog name. Some will be interested enough to figure it out and others won't.
Damaging your reputation: It's not common now, and changes to the website/app might have actually helped to stop this, but some blogs used to reblog others' posts with one or more images, remove the original text, then add their own links and tags. This happened to several of my old posts, too, and the alterations made it look like I'd posted manga panels or whatever with a link to a porn site or something. I had to report the reblogs and also assure readers that my original posts didn't contain these potentially harmful links. To get this remedied, I think I had to use a special reporting method that allowed me to give the Tumblr reps specific information about what the blogs were doing to my post content. I also explained that those blogs were doing the same thing to posts from other bloggers. Were they truly bots? Idk, but possibly.
Simply put, they can decrease your exposure to readers, make the tagging feature less useful for everyone, and even cause a PR nightmare for your blog. All in the name of trying to scam the occasional person who falls into their traps.
When you decide a blog must be a bot, please report them as SPAM (more likely to get it removed) and block it.

Shipping saiki with anyone is aro/ace phobic it is clearly implied he doesn't feel any attraction to anyone the closest thing we got was when he became obsessed with someone not even romantic
Uuuuuh??? Ok???? I'm not sure if you're trying to call me out for something or if this is just supposed to be a general PSA that you're coming to my blog to get out there, but I'm gonna try to dissect this from every angle I can think of.
First of all, if you're trying to accuse me, I myself am incredibly aro ace and am fucking so grateful for the representation. That's so hard to find and is part of the reason I was drawn to the show.
I know I've reblogged a few posts regarding the Saiki and Satou ship in the past, but I don't actually ship it myself. If I'm reblogging content regarding the ship it really has more to do with the dynamics surrounding it that I think are fun concepts. Usually related to how his powers affect his ability to form relationships in one way or another. Honestly I'd like to see all these concepts in the light of a QPR or something could be cool and more accurate representation. It's not like ace aro people can't love at all. They just aren't attracted to people's physical appearances
I think it's incredibly important to acknowledge that he's aroace, but the thing is... most people aren't aroace and those people are going to have a tendency to instinctively pair characters off in their heads without thinking about it. Especially when one of those characters is explicitly shown to be obsessed (your own words) with another character. If someone wants to explore those dynamics that's fine with me, as long as they aren't actually actively rooting for these ships to occur in canon. Shipping something doesn't necessarily mean you want the relationship between characters to happen in the actual franchise. The whole concept of shipping is kind of complicated tbh. But as long as someone is making content about how Saiki is aro ace in canon while also creating side concepts regarding the possibility of possibly dynamics, I don't see a big problem with it
The next point I have is something I'm kind of conflicted on myself. That's the point of cupioromanticism and romance neutral aromantics. I myself love to refer to myself as "very aro" but I was calling myself that even as I was in a relationship. It's possible to be aromantic and in a romantic relationship. The conflicting part is that a lot of people use that as an excuse to ship aro characters and completely disregard their orientation. But it's a whole lot more complicated than that. I consider myself mostly romance neutral (which is the aromantic equivalent of being a sex neutral asexual, which is probably more commonly known and understood) but I still had very strict boundaries about it when I was in my relationships, and I didn't always have the energy to keep up with my partners. My most notable relationship was an open relationship so my partner could fill in the blanks, because I have a fairly low romantic threshold if we did something particularly romantically investive I would need to straight up take a break from the relationship altogether. Just a few days to recuperate and reenergize.
Basically my last point (that last paragraph) comes down to "You can totally be in a romantic relationship and be aro, but a lot of people use that knowledge to ignore a canon minority and essentially demonstrate erasure."
Not to bring in a completely separate media franchise into this, but Bojack Horseman did a really good job at explaining some of this stuff in regards to their asexual character. They dive into how asexual people can be in romantic relationships, but not all asexuals want to. Some are also aro. And while it is in passing, they mention that some asexuals do have and enjoy sex. This doesn't explore all these concepts and ways people experience these things in depth, but it does open up every angle, leaving all of the other ways people can experience these things on the table and easily able to be figured out by an audience of people new to these concepts if they just think about it for a minute. But they keep it well defined where the character stands and how his asexuality affects his relationships and how it complicates things.
All of that is to say, shipping culture is super weird, but as long as someone is very vocal and supportive of the fact Saiki is in fact aro ace, I would allow the allos a little bit of shipping content. As a treat. Just don't ignore his practically confirmed identity just to get all mushy on a character who would hate that.
But honestly, I don't see much of a need to ship Saiki with much of anyone when Shun and Aren are right there.

❌ I ask of you to please not trauma dump when I do not know you
To Note
❗I would like to make my blog a safe space for everyone, please dont be shy to share your little rambles, dark or wholesome I'm willing to read it!
❗ I wont be writing/drawing anything NSFW (smut) bc im a minor, so it makes me feel a little iffy knowing that. Though I am fine with making dirty/sexual jokes for the fun of it. At most it'll only either be heavily/lightly suggestive or/and implied if I ever were to write/draw anything in that area or were to include it. (I have my thirst moments too after all)
❗I really like horror, so dont be surprised if I expand to gore or the general field of horror. Sometimes i like to focus on the horror aspect more, so [said character] may or may not be an automatic yandere for that purpose
❗ I love yanderes!!! I think they are personally fun to write about and think about. But of course I love characters who aren't in the yandere themes as well (such as Miyamura or Genya)^^
❗My Blog is Multifandom. Dont expect me to only post content for only one fandom. Though asks are open and free for you to ramble!
❗ I'm a little shy in all honesty but please dont be shy to say hi<3 I'll start warming up to you if we interact often and i'm pretty friendly!
❗If you want to be mutuals please actually interact with me first before asking.
❗I am alright with being tagged in posts<3
❗ I am open to suggestions, chit chat, or your little rambles! It might help me wrack up another idea to write or draw about ^^
❗Please depict the characters as 18+ please because I usually like to write in settings where you'd be of age to attend or do such things (such as working in a specific profession or going to raves) unless stated or interpreted as otherwise.
❗I do not condone any toxic or your typical yandere traits in real life, along with a lot of immoral and dark themes. I know what im doing, I simply enjoy these themes in fiction. Do not base me as a bad person in real life because of that
❗I wish to Indulge in you to put it quite simply<3
Request Rules
✔️ As long as you can provide me a scenario/situation/idea/plot of a character I can make do with it!
✔️ Preferably limit to 5 people when asking at most!
✔️I have the right to refuse a request if I seem uncomfy/iffy/or unfamiliar with what's being requested
✔️ It would be great if you were to be specific with what you would like to request, in that way I can fit it to what you desire! I'm willing to indulge in you <3 Though its fine if you were to make it broad or general
✔️Although being neurodivergent myself I would like to ask you not to be too heavy on such specific topics when requesting.
✔️ Theres no specific way to give an ask, so just go for whatevers on your mind! <3
With that, I think I added all that I could think of. So please do enjoy your stay, that is if you decide to🌷

15 Questions
Thank you @thewriteflame for tagging me, sorry I didn't get this done sooner.
For this I have decided to make two separate posts, each focusing on one of the two main characters from Sea of Stars.
This will be the Juliet version, and I'll do Tynan afterwards.
Additional note: The Social Butterfly is a fictional blog which Juliet's sister subscribes to within Sea Of Stars. I thought it would be fun for Juliet and Tynan to appear as interview subjects on there after the events of the story.
...
The woman who walks in to the study room I rented in Edinburgh Central Library is somebody who has appeared on countless news articles, talk shows and interviews since the news of the so-called Hidden World of myths, monsters and magic became a known part of what everybody thought was just a mundane world with jobs and taxes and worrying about putting food on the table.
She smiles and waves at me, like we're old friends instead of merely strangers meeting for the first time after a few emails and a quick video chat to co-ordinate this interview. She walks with purpose and I rise to shake her hand as soon as she gets within range. Her grip is firm, palms slightly rough and I note the dirt beneath her thumb nails.
Juliet Northwood is magnetic in the way she holds your gaze. Wavy chestnut hair, tied half off her face, eyes that seem to gleam golden in the sunlight streaming in, and an almost imperceptible smattering of freckles across her nose. A feature I never noticed in all my research for The Social Butterfly, a popular student blog run by myself and three others.
Our readers submit the questions when we announce our next guest.
"Beautiful weather, isn't it?" She asks as she adjusts her floaty skirt into the chair.
"Yes, unseasonably warm as well." I agree as I find a blank page in my notebook.
"Shall we just begin?" She asks, a touch of awkwardness in her smile as she plays with her right sleeve.
"Oh, of course. If there's anything at all you don't feel comfortable answering, you just let me know and we'll move on."
She nods as I click my pen.
Are you named after anyone?
She smiles, leaning forward on her hands, "Oh, not anybody real! My brother chose my name because he likes Shakespeare. He intended it to be spelled the French way. J-U-L-I-E-T-T-E. But my father, who actually filed my birth certificate spelled it without the extra T-E."
I nod my acknowledgement as I scribble the answer down.
When was the last time you cried?
That seems to strike her as funny because she chuckles, tucking an escaping strand of hair back behind her ear. "Last night. I was watching The Longest Ride with my husband. Got to the part where Ira passes away and wept like a baby. These kinds of film always get to me."
Do you have kids?
Her fingers tighten just a little where they've come to rest on the table. "No. I can't have them."
The answer is direct and I take the unspoken direction to move on.
Do you use sarcasm?
She grins at that, all awkwardness from my last question gone.
"No, I would never. Why would you think that?"
The tone drips with sarcasm and I can't help but snort with amusement.
Fair enough.
What's the first thing you notice about people?
She sits back, considering it as she sips the coffee placed in front of her. "Usually I notice their expression. If they're smiling or frowning. If they look tired. It helps to know what kind of person you're going to end up talking with and how you should proceed, no?"
I have the sudden urge to ask what exactly she gathered from my face when we first had a chat on a video call three days ago, a precaution on her part, so she would know who to look out for today.
But I'm being paid to interview her for a new section aimed at curious young people who want to know more about the witch who possibly saved the world. And such questions aren't going to earn my pay.
What's your eye colour?
She blinks as though taken aback, "Um, I think they're hazel? Tynan says so anyway."
She leans forward, widening them so I can see.
"Oh yeah, hazel. But they have gold around the iris. That's really cool." I tell her, hoping it isn't weird to say so.
She nods, "Yours are pretty too!"
Scary movies or happy endings?
"Happy endings, always. Life has enough drama without movies being dismal too, don't you think?"
I laugh at how earnestly she says it, but assure her that I do totally agree.
Any special talents?
"Aside from the obvious?"
I nod, hoping that we won't be thrown out for a display of magic inside a library.
"Oh! I'm a good baker. I make bread and sweet treats as gifts for everybody I know. Nobody has complained yet."
Where were you born?
"France. Just outside Marceille. A neighbour helped my mother through labour."
Well, that raises some questions that she never signed up to answer. But I stick with the ones I have written down.
What are your hobbies?
She has an almost childish glee at this one, "I love gardening. I was repotting herbs before I came here this morning. I mentioned the baking already, so there's that.
That explains the soil under her nails.
"And I scrapbook. I find it really helpful to gather my thoughts at the end of the day, and it's nice to make little memories of the nice things. I also love fiction and crossword puzzles. All kinds of cozy things really."
Have you got any pets?
She gives me a smile like she's letting me in on some great joke, "No, but I do have my husband."
Ah yes, the infamous Tynan. He has been known to do some unusual things when he gets bored of being interviewed. I'm mildly concerned what he has planned when I talk to him after we get done here.
What sports do you play/have you played?
"I used to play tennis against my best friend when we would holiday with her grandparents in Cornwall. It was always fun, even though she always won. Does hiking count? I do a lot of walking around Scotland. Just seeing the sights, you know?"
How tall are you?
She shrugs, "5 foot 7. Just a few inches above average. I wouldn't want to be taller or shorter though. This is a comfortable size to hug people."
Favourite subject in school?
"Ah, well I didn't go to a conventional school, but when I went to lessons at the campsites, I always loved astronomy and literature the best. The stars have so many secrets and writers have a magic all of their own. Both are wonderful things."
Dream job?
She ponders it for so long that I think she expects me to move on, even though this is the last question.
"I think I'd like to be a gardener. I could sell my little seedlings and plants. And maybe even make different things for holidays. It would be nice." She decides at last.
I smile at her as I finish writing my notes. "Well, that was all of the readers questions. Thank you for doing this."
She waves an elegant hand, "No need to thank me. It was fun. The questions were unexpected. Thank you for having me."
"Any advice on my impending interview with your husband?" I ask in what I hope is a joking tone.
She sobers a little, her smile just a little tighter. "Do not thank him. You don't want him thinking you might owe him something. He swore to me he'd behave, but don't risk it, okay?"
A little daunted, I accept her hug and watch her wave as she walks back towards the door.
Thanks for reading, hope this was as enjoyable to read as it was to write. I'm looking forward to doing the Tynan one now.
Tynan version here:

Thanks, appreciate your doc and help a lot!!! I'm pretty dumb so etiquette guides are always helpful.
I realized the questions I have were...quite a load but I'm sending these to you if you wanna continue your doc. Feel free to answer only a few of them or not answer them now!
Dividing content by blogs: I got a few main interests, and some minor interests. When is it a good idea to start a sideblog?
Adding a lot in a reblog: I ended up writing a long essay in my reblog. My contribution adds to the discussion but IDK if it's inconsiderate to post a whole essay to someone's post. Is that OK, or should I instead put it in a new post, put some context and tag the person?
Avoiding the flames: I'm often afraid of posting something for the fear of backlash - whether or not deserved. The options I know so far: a) Don't post it, b) Post it and accept whatever happens, c) Scroll down for 30 minutes in a dashboard or through tags to find out whether my take would be considered problematic or inflammatory. What's your take?
Attention: I heard it was OK to scroll down someone's blog but in one blog I seemed to have interacted with at least 30% of their posts, putting lots of comments along the way. Is that creepy or acceptable?
Anons: There's a few cool people I send a lot of anon asks to. Is it considered considerate or dumb if I eventually let them know that I've sent them a bunch of anons?
Followers, mutuals and the dashboard: I'm considering either visiting blogs individually or curating my dashboard. If I curate my dashboard and unfollow 200 people, that'll go against the "follow back" and "unfollow only if you dislike the person" viewpoints. Do people still have those mindset?
Edit: tumblr is such a functioning website sometimes the numbers on this post get broken lmao 😭😭😭😭
That's all up to you! Some people like to keep their blogs pristine and curated for certain things, others like to put all their stuff in one big pile of you (like me!) it all depends on how you want your blog to operate!
As long as it's relevant to the post it's absolutely okay to add a long addition, especially if you're teaching something! Most people love having some actual substance in their interactions so don't worry about that. But if you'd like to, you can add a "read more" divider so others don't have to scroll through your paragraphs if they don't want to :)
This is true for every place on the internet, it's honestly your call! Do whatever makes you comfortable, not much else I can say
Absolutely fine! We love interaction no matter the age of the post! Make sure you check their bio or pinned posts first though, most people are alright with "like spamming" but some aren't. Unless they say otherwise somewhere interact to your hearts content!
That's the beauty of anon, it's up to you how much you want to be known. Try not to pester people though, let bloggers get to your asks on their own time! If you'd like for them to know all your asks are from one person but without revealing they're from you, you can add an anon signature! It's a simple nickname to give yourself in the ask box to show that you're the same person. This could be as simple as saying "hey! It's me, (blank)anon again!" or a popular way of doing it is assigning your self an emoji to sign off your asks with! Example: "hope you're day is good! -💥anon"
Once again this is a "your call" situation. Curate your experience to your comfort. I will say though I'm following over 800 people and my dash is just fine lol. Tumblr users don't usually believe in the "follow for follow" system so don't feel bad for unfollowing someone for whatever reason
I hope that was helpful :)))

Hi, as someone who has also dabbled in bookbinding as a hobby, I'd be super interested in any insights you have in typesetting in MS Word. You mentioned that you don't usually talk about it on here, so if you have a different blog a post along those lines would fit better, I'd appreciate being pointed in its direction
Hi! By on here I actually meant on tumblr, or online as a general thing. I talk my family's ears off about it irl but the post I made yesterday is the first time I've ever really talked about making books online.
I am far from an expert on this. I made my first book a little over a year and a half ago and have since made a grand total of five books, working on #6 right now, and a lot of what I've learned about typesetting I picked up from r/bookbinding over on reddit (I don't have an account there, I just read other people's posts). I wanted to link the tutorial I used but I can't find it in my bookmarks so I think my browser ate it.
I'm not sure how much you already know and I've never written a tutorial before, so some of this may be too detailed, but here's the parts I think are important:
-Book fold is the setting you need to make signatures. In the version of Word that I have it's under Layout, the first box that says Margins Orientation Size etc. Click the little box in the corner of that section and you'll get a popup where you can set custom margins. Set the orientation to landscape and the Pages dropdown to Book Fold. You'll need to set Sheets per Booklet (right under that dropdown) before you print because the default is "all", but I like to do this at the end when I know how many pages the text is.
-Sheets per booklet is how many actual pieces of paper are in the signature. If you tell it 4, the lowest setting, it will give you signatures of 1 piece of paper. 8 is 2 papers that nest like proper book pages, 12 is 3 papers, etc. No one told me this and my first book of like 50 pages had 12 signatures in it when I was expecting it to have 3 or 4. I got to practice stitching but it was ridiculous.
-Size 12 font is too big for most books, unless you want Large Print. I like size 11. Footnotes and page numbers should be a little smaller so I use size 10 for those.
-If you're going to trim the edges, leave extra space in the top, bottom, and outer margins. If you have page numbers or footnotes in the header or footer, you can adjust how far they are from the top and bottom of the page. Go to add the header and at the bottom of the dropdown for it is an option for "edit header". If you click this it will give you a toolbar at the top of the screen with new options; the last one on the right is "header from top" and "footer from bottom". If you leave it standard Word will put them in the space you intended to trim off, regardless of what you set your margins to.
-The tutorial I used talked about the gutter, which is the space in the middle of the book where it runs into the fold. I have not found that I needed to have a gutter, and setting the inside margins works well enough for that so your words aren't hidden in the seam. I think this comes into play more with longer books, or books that have rounded and backed spines. I haven't rounded or backed anything I've made yet so I can't speak about that.
-You can format tables of contents in Word, there are templates, but I think they look like corporate expense reports so I don't use them. I usually do the front matter (title page, contents, author's notes, etc.) in a separate document so I can add the right number of blank pages and not worry about having page numbers on the title page. For tables of contents I make a numerical list. I like 'em simple.
-If you can, Word allows you to make custom templates for anything you want. Once I had settings I liked I made a template and saved it so I don't have to reset the margins and stuff every time I make a new book. The only caveat here is remembering to hit Save As instead of Save the first time you save your work.
I hope that helps! If you'd like I would love to hear about your own tips working in MS Word, god knows mine are far from exhaustive. Or if there's something you wanted to know that I didn't mention, if I can help I'd be happy to.

Point blank Q here: Why are anarchists such determinists? The system helps it happen and should be changed or done away with, but at the end of the day, the abuser made a choice. (When allies feel like enemies...)
Full disclosure in regards to the frustrated tone I'm about to have here, lol, but:
I have no idea if you're a new anon or one of the ones I've asked multiple times to please stop presuming I should just know what you're talking about when you send asks about things I reblogged days ago, usually with the intent of picking apart minutiae of various posts or misrepresenting things to such an extent that I honestly can't even TELL what you're originally referencing.
Look, I'm happy to have conversations or debates, but I simply CAN'T, the way a lot of people are always trying to go about it, because I usually have no idea what they're even talking about or what angle they're approaching things from, when this is all you put into my inbox.
In this instance, I'm ASSUMING you're talking about the reblog I made the other day of the post being critical of how we view and talk about abuse in our society, and if that's the case, I'm not gonna lie, I still would not be receptive to the kind of convo or argument it feels like you're looking to have with this ask, because I flat out did not interpret that post the way you seem to. The point of that post, IMO, and the reason I reblogged it, was to be critical of the way our society talks about abuse as something inherent to a person, as though some people are 'abusive' while others would never ever go there.
This mindset frustrates me to no end, because abuse is an act, it is not a characteristic. "So and so would never do that, they aren't that kind of person" is THE go-to defense of any abuser ever, and its so frustrating because its an utterly pointless defense that means and says nothing, because it disregards the fact that like......so many abusers WOULD have been regarded as people who would never do that, who aren't that kind of person....before for whatever reason, they went and did something abusive anyway.
There is no such category as an abusive person and a non-abusive person, and tbh, as an abuse survivor the ONE thing I would change about abuse discourse, if I magically had the power to change one thing about it, would be to strike the train of thought/discourse that is 'so and so can't have done that because they're not that kind of person' as its NEVER productive and ONLY ever derails conversations about abuse from what it SHOULD be about (the abusive acts and the harm they caused) to shift focus to the abuser and what kind of person they are, as though that can ever actually result in anything productive or say anything definitive about the actual abuse itself.
So that's why I reblogged that post, because whatever interpretation you might have of it, I will always hands down agree and push forward the idea that we have a backwards way of talking about abuse and who enacts it in our society, and frankly? I object to trying to boil that post down into something that distracts ENTIRELY from the point its making in order to be critical of anarchists or what-the-fuck-ever, like that's remotely what's important there. Quite honestly, I am much more likely to see people being critical of how we talk about abuse and abusers in society as more of an ally than someone popping in on anon to shift the focus of a post about abuse discourse to being some kind of anarchist discourse.
Like not to be bitchy on main, but as I have stated approximately a hundred million times on this blog, I can not ever have any context for someone who chooses to send me asks on anon. No matter how familiar you are with whatever angle you're approaching an ask or potential conversation from, I am not in your head, I do not have the awareness of you and your POV and your history that you have when sending an ask, or that you likely have of me due to following my blog and having a clear awareness of things I reblog and points I make.
So its not that I'm not willing to have conversations like these, even with someone on anon, its just I flat out CAN'T when someone approaches me as though they're familiar with my POV or have an overall awareness of where I stand on various topics or what I'm likely to know or be informed on....all while I can't possibly know any of the following about you yourself. Again, if you really want to stay on anon while making these points to me or starting some kind of conversation or discourse, you can, but like. Please keep in mind that you're limiting how productive a conversation like that even can be, when I have zero chance of meeting you at an equivalent level. The less context you provide me, the less I can possibly ever contribute to some kind of back and forth.
And again - this ask makes me very uncomfortable, because it assumes a lot, and I don't think it does so in good faith. The implication it clearly carries, that any focus on abuse as not being as simplistic as society likes to treat it as, as though 'being abusive' is something diagnosable, like.....this is NOT the same thing as giving abusers a free pass for making the choice they made TO be abusive. In fact, its the exact opposite?
Treating abuse as something inherent to abusers, that they do because they're just like that, rather than examining the factors and vectors in their upbringing, environment, etc, in order to scrutinize what might have LED them to behaving abusively....THAT'S what lets abusers off the hook for their choices, for their actions. Because it makes it all too easy for them to claim 'well I'm just like that, its like a sickness' instead of it being the end result of compounding factors leading to a person making yes, the choice to be abusive, and either feeling justified in that because of those aforementioned factors, or feeling that they can be excused or defended based on those factors.
So I categorically disagree with the idea that focusing on abuse as a symptom of society rather than as a condition of a person who behaves abusively, like, in ANY way makes excuses for that person's actions, or shifts focus away from where it should ALWAYS be: their actions, the impact they have, and their reasons for taking those actions.
And yeah, I'm a little ticked at the presumption of coming in to my inbox (especially if you know how strongly I feel about topics of abuse) and casting aspersions about the reasons behind that post, or for reblogging that post, or about people who agree with that post....all while doing so in the name of making some ACTUALLY irrelevant point about anarchists and determinism instead.
Like. I'm honestly not sure what you were after there, but whatever it was? This wasn't the way to go about it.

System Ask Game
🦒 Do you have an inner world? If so how big is it? The innerworld is kind of whatever it wants to be. Changes frequently. Some reoccurring locations are children’s play rooms and tree houses, office rooms, a stadium(?) and forests. Its kinda fluid though.
🐈‍⬛ If you have an inner world did an alter consciously create it? And is anyone able to change it at will? I’m not really sure. I think it depends on the alter actually. But yes to both depending. Its kind of confusing.
🦝 Who is the most responsible person in your system? Definitely Otto.
🦋 Who fronts the most? Ideally this would be James cause that is the name we go by, but at this point I think Kim fronts way more and is basically a host now.
🦢 Do you mostly communicate externally or internally? Depends on the situation. Sometimes it can be weird to talk inside the head, so we will open Discord to talk on a private server with PluralKit to keep it organized, or on paper or notes app.
🦮 Do you have any animal alters? Yes, and some that are like hybrids of other non-humans.
🦇 Do you have any parts/fragments that aren't fully alters/headmates? Yes, but it can be hard to identify which is which. Whenever we find someone new, we try to log them, even if a lot is left blank. Its just our way of trying to keep track of everyone and stay organized.
🦄 Do you have supernatural beings in your system? Yeah. I think there’s some angels, demons, vampires, fairies, and sirens? Not a lot of each and I might be leaving some out but they are there.
🐖 If you were to be in a relationship would all of your headmates/alters date that person? We are in a relationship and while most of us are dating this person, a lot of us are not or have different opinions.
🐭 Do most of your alters/headmates have the same or similar style/aesthetic? No, but a lot like pastel/cute stuff. Also bright colors.
🪱 Do your alters/headmates have different sexualities? Do any contradict? Yeah a lot lmao.
🐇 Do you know what your head count is? Last I checked I think 80-something??
🦥 What is something that instantly makes someone switch in? Usually a stressful situation. However if everything is safe/chill one alter might switch in. A very specific example would be something like we could be ordering food and Shrimp jumps in to demand Dr. Pepper cause he really likes Dr. Pepper.
🐴 Do you have child alters/syskids? Yes. Many of them. Lately, more and more alters from childhood have becoming not dormant. I think its because at this point in our life we are in a safe space. Its part of the healing process, I think for us at least.
🐆 If you have syskids/child alters do you have more adults/teens or children in your system? I think its a mix of both, though the non-child alters tend to be more diverse in their other roles (if they know them) while littles tend to just be littles
🦔 Does anyone in your system age regress? Yes, many alters.
🐶 Who has the best memory in your system? HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA
🦊 Do any of your alters have their own blogs just for them? Nope. Maybe eventually? Kinda new to Tumblr. We’ll be adding hashtags to posts to keep track of who posts what though.

Some lore on Lux!
Hello everyone! Today, I'm gonna be just posting some general lore and stuff about my Scrybe and his friends and stuff. Bit since its gonna be a bit wordy it's all below the break.
Before that, I have a question. Would you guys prefer it if I made a blog specifically for Lux and Inscryption stuff? This is just kinda the general blog I made when joining tumblr, so I've just been using it. I want to be more engaged here, so would you prefer it if it was all in one place? Idk, just give feedback below if you want. Thanks to those who do!
Also, even before I figure that out, if anyone wants to interact with me or my characters, feel free! Send asks, tag me or whatever fits your fancy. Even if its to roleplay, just asks a question or a simple duel, go right on ahead!
Anyways, here's the fun stuff! First off, here we have a quick little sketch of Lux and his compatriots! (I might color it later, idk.) Like most scrybes, he has three "goons" to which call him boss. Starting on the left, we have Desmond (They/Them), Hearth (He/They), you all know Lux (He/They) and Clovis, (They/Them).
Tumblr media
"Ahh, my lovely cards. Would you all mind introducing yourselves ~?"
"Oh, um... Hi. I'm Desmond.... Nice to meet you.?"
"Hearth."
"Hmm? Oh, hey. I'm Clovis or whatever. Sup?"
"Hehe, aren't they lovely ~?"
They all respect Lux a lot, and he in turn treats his underlings very well. They are all very important to him.
Lux's temple to scrybdom isn't actually a real place, but rather a giant casino. Doors appear randomly throughout the aisles and lands, and stepping through them leads you to the Luxy Casino! The casino itself is a giant building full of gambling machines and game tables, hundreds of patrons all gambling their hearts out. Literally, in some cases.
Desmond handles the roulette and other similar games, Hearth is in charge of the card tables and Clovis watches over most of the machines.
Besides the actual people in charge, the Casino is also staffed by many "crew." The Crew are all walking and moving mannequins made from wood, wearing similar clothes to Lux's compatriots but with a blank white mask. The Crew can't speak and aren't sentient, but they take care of many of the games and services. Although Lux and Co seem to be able to talk to them. The crew also take care of a lot of duels.
Lux creates cards by inscrybing risks into cards, and then creating random stats for them. Since he oversees the casino, there are plenty of risks going around that he is collecting and turning into cards. He'll usually be in the back, creating cards and taking care of the business.
Since he uses risks people have taken as card materials, he is also aware of risks that people have taken. He'll need to be with someone to see their past risks, but when a big risk is taken he learns of it remotely. Big risks usually make more powerful cards.

PLEASE REBLOG FOR AWARENESS- S*X BOTS:
So, only recently, in the past week I've been getting a lot (and a lot, for my blogs, is six) of random followers, and it was making me a little suspicious, so in the end I just decided to check everything out and see what was going on.
I mean, did a post of mine do really well or something? Did someone tag me a bunch of times? Did someone reblog something?
NO.
I checked who had followed me recently, and, low and behold, it was: bots! How great.
But what was even worse, was that these were s*x bots (I'm censoring some words to keep my blog somewhat safe). S*x bots.
So since I've seen a lot of these over the past few weeks, I've decided to put together a little of what I've found. It's nothing new- and it's pretty much common knowledge- but hopefully it might help a few people out (especially since I'm one of many people who try to keep their blog safe from harmful, or 18+ content) and maybe even help keep some people a little safer here on Tumblr
So, here we go:
PROFILE PICTURES AND USERNAMES:
First of all, check the pfps and usernames. Sometimes they'll be something like "d3rtyg1rl", but not always. Other times it'll be something like "sangdori" or "jpi011" (those are two real accounts that followed me, I've just changed one or two of the letters in them)- so something that sounds like a regular Tumblr account to tebe average user. So if the username checks out as 'normal', the next thing to look at, is the profile picture.
These, similar to the usernames, and all the other things I'm going to mention, may seem normal at first. Some of them may be fluffy kittens (a lot of them are "generic"), others may be a seemingly innocent selfie, a few of them are just blank Tumblr and some are just... straight-up 18+ photos. So be aware that not all of them are going to be easy to spot right away.
LIKES, FOLLOWS AND UPLOADS:
Right, so now we've come to the part where you've checked out the usernames and profile pics, and they both show no signs of anything sinister. Good- now, if you're still suspicious, it's time to check the actual account itself.
The first thing you might want to take a look at, is the content they've uploaded, or in some cases haven't uploaded, onto their blog. This is where things can get deceiving. Many of these accounts have just one "generic" post- such as slime, kittens, glitter, etc (usually these are eye-catching things, which means it can draw people, especially children, in)- immediately followed by some sort of sexual content underneath that, usually in the form of a nude photo or p*rn (some are obscured, though most aren't), which catches you off-guard, to say the least.
Now, as I said before, not all of these bot accounts are the same. Some don't have any uploaded content at all- this is where checking their Likes page comes in.
(And I'm aware that this may sound like we're stalking someone's account at this point, but trust me, we're not. We're just trying to keep ourselves safe- and these are not people, remember, they're bots. Bots don't care, bots don't have feelings. Bots don't care if we block them). So, back to the point, the next thing we check is the Likes pages.
Now, some of these pages will be purely 18+ content, as you would expect. Just straight-up p*rn links, or nude photos. But others, however, seem innocent at first... that is, until you scroll down the page. Usually, it's just liked photos of (again, the generic, and eye-catching stuff) some cute animals, a GIF of slime, or a popular meme, but if you scroll down a little further underneath that, you'll see that same innapropriate content all over again.
Though again, as with all the other things I've mentioned, some of these liked pages seem fine upon inspection, which is where we move onto the final thing to check if what you're seeing is a bot account: the following page.
To be quite simple... this is where you'll need to look at a bunch of accounts all over again... hooray! If you find that some of the accounts seem suspicious from just looking at the pfps and usernames, then great, that usually means you know that the account you were originally looking at is a bot account, and you can block them and be done with it (and even if you're not entirely sure, blocking them will keep you safe, and besides, it doesn't hurt anyone- believe me, your safety takes 100% priority over having that one extra follower).
But, if you can't tell just by looking at them, and you're still suspicious, and you don't want to just block the original account you were looking at... then this would be the time do all of the above again (checking likes, following pages, and content) just to make sure.
If you don't find anything else suspicious, then congratulations, it's probably not a bot account, and you don't have to worry about it. But again, if you ARE worried, then PLEASE do just block and/or report, the account. It's better to have one less follower, than be unsafe, or have to feel uncomfortable.
SO, I THINK IT'S A BOT ACCOUNT, NOW WHAT?
Now, if you've been through all of the above, and/or you're pretty sure that what you've seen is a bot account, then it's time to either block it, or report it.
To block an account, simply tap on the little 'human/person' icon in the top right of that specific account, and tap 'block' (note: this will only report them from one of your blogs. If you want to block them from another, or all of your blogs, you'll have to add them to the block list for taht specific blog). To report someone instead, just tap 'report'.
So, you might be wondering: what's the difference between reporting someone and blocking them?
Well, I'll tell you as best as I can. Blocking someone means:
They won’t be able to follow your blog, or send you fan mails or asks to your blog, and they won't be able to see your blog’s posts in their Dashboard. In addition to that, neither will they be able to like, reblog, or reply to your posts, and your blog won’t show up in their search results. It's a really good option.
They'll still be able to read your posts if they somehow come across them, but they can't interact/reblog them- at all. The only way people would even know you've blocked them is if they find that they get denied permission to interact with your blog- but remember, the chances of the finding out that youve blocked them is VERY slim, if it even happens at all (though remember we're talking about bots here though, not actual people, I just thought it would be useful information to include anyway).
Alright, so now onto reporting someone. Reporting someone means that:
The account will receive an email stating that they've posted banned content and must take it down. Tumblr will then still automatically take it down, and the account either gets suspended or deleted.
I would say that reporting the s*x bots would be the best thing you can do in this situation (you can still block them afterwards), seeing as the account will hopefully then be taken down (instead of just blocked on your blog) after being reviewed, which could help keep Tumblr at least a little safer once it does.
And just in case you were wondering: no-one will know if you've reported their account. The only way they'll know they've been reported (and they won't know who reported them) is if their content gets taken down or if their account is deleted- so don't worry about people accusing you of reporting them, as Tumblr keeps it anonymous anyway.
(Again, I've only added that part as useful information, seeing as s*x bots aren't real people and therefore won't care if they've been blocked or reported.)
There's more information about reporting and blocking people, along with Tumblr's policies and guidelines here, if you need it:
https://iheartmob.org/resources/safety_guides/tumblr_guide
Right... so I think that just about covers everything I wanted to say. If there's anything I've gotten wrong, or you think you could add on to, just drop a note or reblog this to help. After all, I don't know everything about these s*x bots, and just writing from my experience and what I've noticed about them. So help and/or additional information would be greatly appreciated.
I'm just fed up of seeing them everywhere and them making me think I've got a new follower who's actually interested in the blogs I make, when it's actually just a not trying to take me to some random p*rn website. It's wrong. So I just decided to write about my frustrations.
Now, Tumblr, if you could please sort your shit out, that'd be great, thank you very much, and we can all get on with our day.
If you've read this far, thank you very much for your time, and I hope I've managed to help you at least somewhat when it comes to dealing with these types of things in the future, or maybe just given you a little more awareness about how to stay safe on Tumblr, and other similar sites.
Anyway, I hope y'all have a wonderful day, and that you stay safe. Happy new year, too! 💛💙

7 Gluten Free Sources of Vegan Protein (That Aren't Tofu)
New blog post! Vegan. Plant-based. Flexitarian. Whatever you call it, eating less meat and more plant-based protein is in. In fact, one 2016 study found that 55 percent of Americans wanted to incorporate more plant-based foods into their diet that year. And, as those who follow my Instagram have probably realized, I'm one of them.
While I still sometimes eat meat and don't worry about sticking to a strict "vegan" diet with baked goods or processed foods, I've enjoyed experimenting with more vegan protein. The only problem? Tofu and I...well, we don't get along (in taste or my body's reaction to it). What's a girl to do? Find other ways to get protein, of course!
Today, I thought I'd share my top seven favorite sources of vegan protein - that aren't tofu! Ready to dive in? Just have a bib on hand! 1. Banza Pasta First off, I had to share one of my favorite gluten free pastas lately: Banza. I first discovered this brand when a box was included in my monthly Love With Food delivery (PSA: if you've never heard of Love With Food, check out my in-depth reviews here and here!). More recently, Banza contacted me about receiving free products in return for a review...and, of course, I couldn't type "yes" quick enough.
Banza pasta is actually pasta made mostly of chickpeas, which means it's an A+ source of protein. In fact, one-fourth a cup of their rotini pasta (the kind I received) boasts 14 grams of protein and 8 grams of fiber. My favorite part, though, is the flavor. Compared to my typical rice pasta, Banza tastes a lot heartier. It holds up well when baked in my slow cooker mac n' cheese or just boiled on the stove top (which only takes 8-10 mins - score!).
Banza = bumpin' up the flavors!
As you could probably guess, my fave way to enjoy Banza is in vegan mac n' cheese with my homemade cheese sauce. However, it also tastes delish with pesto, spinach and extra chickpeas (got your protein, bro?) or even tossed in a salad. There really are as many options as there are Banza shapes! 2. Chia Seeds If I had to list the foods I always eat everyday, chia seeds would be at the top of the list. True, I had never heard of chia seeds before my celiac diagnosis, but once I met Mamma Chia, I've never looked back.
Chia seeds respectively provide more omega-3, antioxidants, calcium, potassium, protein and fiber than salmon, blueberries, milk, bananas, soy beans and flax seeds. Basically chia seeds prove that good things come in small packages. I always throw in one or two tablespoons of chia seeds into my batch of smoothies. This not only bumps up the protein, but also makes my smoothies even thicker - just how I like 'em!
Chia seeds are also a MUST if you're cravin' thick and fluffy (oatless) oatmeal. The chia seeds expand and suck up the moisture, giving your oatmeal a lot of volume even if you use the same amount of ingredients as usual. Chia seeds are also a secret weapon for vegan baking, especially if you're allergic to flax seeds like I am. Instead of an egg, you can mix together one tablespoon of ground chia seeds with three tablespoons of water, as seen in my paleo and vegan pancakes.
My fave pancakes...
Chia seeds may not sound the most appetizing and, whenever my sister sees me eating them she still says, "You're going to grow a chia pet in your stomach!" But, really, chia seeds are as delicious as they are versatile for a gluten free, plant based chef.
3. All the beans! I've written about the magic of beans before, but this post wouldn't be complete without mentioning them as a source of vegan protein. When I first started eating beans, my stomach was not a fan (and I think you can fill in the blanks on what I'm talking about). However, I kept eating just small amounts of beans along with small amounts of meat/fish, and my stomach slowly adapted.
Since I seem to be sensitive to fodmaps, I still have to watch how much I eat of certain bean types beans like chickpeas. However, I love trying out new ways to get my protein. As I've shared on my Instagram, my latest addiction is smashed black beans with potatoes and chips (for some killer creaminess and crunch).
My latest love...
One pro tip: you can also freeze your beans if, like me, you don't eat cans at a time (now that would be dangerous). Simply distribute your beans equally in a sealed plastic bag and freeze them in a layer. This let's you break off a chunk of beans and defrost just that portion whenever you like! It also keeps the beans from going bad, which saves money in the long run. Talk about a win/win. 4. YoFiit Nutritional Bars When you hear the phrase "protein bars," you probably don't think of "vegan" right after. While there are certainly plenty of bars relying on whey or other dairy/animal-based proteins, though, vegan protein bars are becoming more common.
Recently, YoFiit reached out to me to try their new vegan (gluten free, nut free and soy free) nutritional bars. I immediately loved their ingredient list, which includes items like oats, quinoa, pea protein, cacao, and goji berries - all while offering 7 to 15 grams of protein, around 12 grams of fiber and added probiotics! I also like that they sell three different "types": a lemon coconut protein bar, an apple cinnamon morning fibre bar and a choco goji midday energy bar. Admittedly, these weren't as tasty as some of the other bars I've tried. The lemon coconut bar seemed to have a medicinal aftertaste, and the cacao goji is an acquired taste because of the bitter dark cacao. The apple cinnamon is my hands-down fave - which came as a huge surprise since I'm usually not a big apple girl!
In smoothies and granola!
As for how to use, you don't have to simply eat the bars whole! In fact, I hardly ever do that unless they're my emergency snack as I'm out running errands. Instead, I like crumbling the bars on my morning smoothie bowl or my nightly yogurt parfait for an extra hit of protein. You can even use protein bars as the secret ingredient to baked goods like homemade granola or my chocolate mug cake. Your loved ones won't even be able to tell that you snuck extra protein into their treat!
5. Nuts and seeds Speaking of snacks, nuts and seeds are perhaps the easiest way to snack on plant based protein. While all nuts and seeds provide a degree of protein, some superstars include:
Pumpkin seeds - 28.8 grams of protein per 100 grams of seeds
Peanuts - 24.4 grams of protein per 100 grams
Pistachios - 21 grams of protein per 100 grams
Almonds - 21.2 grams of protein per 100 grams
Sunflower seeds - 19.3 grams of protein per 100 grams
As my Instagram followers know, I'm also a huge fan of nut and seed butters (I mean, who isn't?!?), ranging from sunbutter to cashew butter. They all offer varying amounts of protein, so eat what tastes best to you!
Now, the more interesting part: how to eat them. For a savory meal, you can turn whatever nuts or seeds you have into a pesto (like with my Seed-Stuffed Pesto). If you combined this with a serving of Banza pasta - bam! Protein = met. My favorite way of eating nuts and seeds, though, will always be trail mix and homemade granola.
Pesto + roasted potato wedges = <3
Trail mix is an easy food you can take anywhere and enjoy anytime. You can also customize it to your taste buds (my personal favorite: cashews + sunflower and pumpkin seeds + shredded coconut + dried pineapple and raisins). As for granola, well, my various recipes reflect how completely addicted I am. You can sprinkle granola on smoothies or yogurt, eat it as a cereal or simply scoop it from the bag (pairing it with nut butter for even more protein)! When dessert can be healthy, the world truly is a better (delicious) place... 6. Quinoa and Buckwheat Now, both of these function as grains but are actually seeds - making them delicious, protein-packed alternatives to rice. In particular, quinoa offers 4.4 grams of protein per 100 grams (along with high levels of calcium, phosphorous, magnesium and folate) while buckwheat boasts 3.4 grams of protein as well as plenty of manganese, magnesium, and copper.
Quinoa and buckwheat are also super versatile. You can buy quinoa flakes and buckwheat flakes, which are epic oatmeal alternatives. I used to eat quinoa flakes (upgraded with a variety of fruits, but butters and trail mix) for breakfast every morning. My mom, meanwhile, is still happily riding the buckwheat-flake train, eating a simple bowl of microwaved buckwheat flakes, banana, cinnamon and honey every morning.
No description needed...
You can also eat quinoa and buckwheat in savory forms, cooking them on the stove top and using them on top of salads or as the base of a stir fry or pilaf. You can also grind the grains into flour for baked goods like my pancakes or veggie-loaded pizza. And, since basically everything can go into granola, you can also toss raw buckwheat groats or quinoa into your granola batter. 7. Spirulina
Finally, last but not least, spirulina - which is also the highest source of plant based protein today. As I've written before, spirulina is actually an algae. However, this is one algae you do want to see in your food: spirulina is composed 60 to 70% of protein and offers high amounts of calcium, niacin, potassium, magnesium and iron.
Compared to the other ingredients on this list, I definitely would not suggest eating spirulina straight. The taste isn't awful (in my opinion), but it's definitely a lil' funky. Instead, try to sneak in teaspoons of spirulina wherever you can. Add a small spoonful to your smoothie, which will not only boost the protein but also create a gorgeous green color.
When "ice cream" = plant based protein, life is good!
You can also mix spirulina into your yogurt, (oatless) oatmeal, chia seed pudding or bliss balls/banana bombs. Just remember that less is more (because it's better to get some spirulina than add so much, you can't even eat what you created!), and add more according to taste. While spirulina's health benefits are probably best when left uncooked, you can also experiment with spirulina in baking.
Sure, sometimes cooking with plant-based protein is harder than just grilling a steak. However, vegan protein can be just as delicious - and easy to use - as meat once you know what sources to look for and how to get creative in the kitchen.
And if you're ever craving a protein-packed breakfast that isn't eggs...just remember that you can't go wrong with a spirulina smoothie bowl topped with granola, chia seeds and nut butter!
*I received products from Banza and YoFiit in return for an honest review. However, all opinions, recipes and photographs are my own.*

Continuing on that observation because I forgot to add this part, as a gen z I'm glad you understand that we or young people don't invent new ways to be evil, but it's not completely true. You aren't seeing new forms of online abuse in every platform, I doubt second hand information is going into details as well. Also the fact that you are a white man, there are things being said and done to poc in various online communities that I don't expect you to be privy to. Harassing fans of color and poc media has become a lot more common and normalized which parts of the fandom at large will never see. I don't know if anon did all of the thinking before saying "gen z bad" but they're not completely wrong looking at the kind of mass bullying behavior literal kids are exhibiting. They are learning from or being encouraged by older people but that shouldn't take the focus away from them to blame only the older people.
And my ask regarding Barbara, you assumed I hadn't thought about if my disdain for the character could have come from ableism. I had tho, granted you couldn't have known that and it was surely a possibility, so I'm not saying I'm mad about it, I was at that time a little bit. But you could perhaps give your anons a little more credit sometimes. Sometimes people know what they're talking about, you don't need to explain other possibilities to them each time.
Once again, sorry if this came off as very rude I just needed to share that observation and among many other instances these two were really highlights and kept bothering me. My issue with Barbara goes in a different direction than anything to do with her appearance and I've personally faced online abuse from people younger than me in ways that technologically, even politically, wasn't possible or as easy a few years ago, so you can maybe see why...
Please keep in mind that whatever context you have for yourself or your ask when you come into my inbox on anon......I have none of that. You have an awareness of yourself relative to whatever you asked me. I literally only know an anon by the words they put into my inbox and nothing else.
Also please keep in mind that every anon I answer, I do so in the larger context of my own interactions with tumblr overall. I have a lot of precedent with things I say being taken out of context, misrepresented or even just me not conveying myself as well as I like.
So the combination of those two things is that a) I literally just don't KNOW what any anon does or doesn't know and b) If I'm going to answer an anon, I tend to want to answer as fully and clearly as possible.
I can understand it coming across as being talked down to, so I'll work on that, but I would ask people to remember the above and keep that in context too when weighing my responses.....am I actually being condescending in every case, or does it simply feel that way because I'm including stuff you already know in my response? And if its the latter, is THAT something I COULD know about you without knowing who you are or you as a person and not just a paragraph sent in anonymously?
I'd rather be safe than sorry, and so from my POV since there's no harm in somebody seeing someone cover information they already know as PART of their overall answer or response, like, there's no reason for me not to include whatever I think is relevant and just expect readers to decide for themselves what about my response, if anything, is helpful, and like....just ignore the rest, y'know?
Also, just for the record, I am ADHD and I save my medication for when I'm working or writing or have stuff I absolutely need to get done, which doesn't include my usual blogging. So I'm usually posting while not on my ADHD meds at all, hence the rambling tendencies and the length. Another aspect of ADHD that doesn't get talked about much ime is we tend to over-explain, part out of just excitement/interest in whatever it is that has our attention, and also in part because we're used to people not necessarily following the leaps our minds take when jumping around rather than proceeding in an orderly thought pattern.....so, part of why I break things down so incrementally is I literally just don't know where my way of looking at things diverges from the way neurotypical thinking views things, so I want to draw as detailed a map as possible in order to ensure the most people possible can follow my thought process, just in case.
(And again see, this is something you might already know, and hell, you could have ADHD yourself, I just literally have no way of knowing that so rather than just mention it and be like "oh and also I have ADHD and so that's something to keep in mind" I'd rather explain WHY I feel that's particularly relevant to your question, since I'm kinda like, why not answer as fully as I have the spoons for? People can stop reading at any time if I go on too long. Its fine).
As for the specific asks you're referencing - my response to the gen z anon was not meant to convey that the sort of things you're describing don't occur among gen z, so sorry for giving that impression. Its actually the opposite of my point, which was simply that I don't think its a generational thing, or that anything is gained by treating it as a generational thing. This kind of behavior exists in gen z, yes, but it also existed before gen z. Its not gen z SPECIFIC, or limited to just that generation. That's all.
And the other ask, the one you made about Barbara - to be honest, I don't have anyway of knowing for sure which one you meant, and there are a couple it could have been, but if its the one I THINK you're referencing, I believe you asked how to stop people from assuming you dislike Barbara for reasons rooted in ableism when its because of other things? If that's the one, then I mean, the thing is....I DID answer your question, in as much as anyone could. I addressed the perceptions other people might have of your stance there, but basically - there IS no way to ever ensure people take you at your word or any kind of guarantee you can present your POV in a way that won't be misrepresented or misunderstood. So ultimately, I just had no real useful advice for that?
And so I expanded into the only thing I think anyone CAN control, aka their own thoughts and words, and suggested that you just double check to be sure of your own possible biases that others might read into your words without you being aware you were putting them in there. That wasn't meant as an insult or to suggest you hadn't already examined yourself for possible ableism - it was simply saying it never hurts to check again, y'know? We don't always catch everything every time we do a self-review, and internal biases are inherently tricky to pick up on ourselves. And it just loops back into the fact that I really had no way to know what you had and hadn't already considered, you're essentially a blank cipher to me....and in my experience, a lot of people are a lot more ableist than they realize.
And this isn't an insult either! It applies to me and I'M physically disabled! I'm constantly to this day unpacking new realizations about how I still have more ableist views and opinions than even I realize, even after about five years of living with chronic pain, vertigo, nerve issues and associated problems stemming from only half a working mouth lol. I'm not trying to insult people by asking them to just do what I do every day and just like....make sure I'm not the problem when other people have a problem with me. Because sometimes, even after reflecting as fully and genuinely as I can, I think they're still wrong! I don't have to agree with their conclusions! But that doesn't mean that they're never right.
And for the record, I do think its still worth examining on your end, because I don't love that you said your issues with Barbara have nothing to do with her appearance, when we're talking about ableism specifically. It very well could be just a poor word choice on your part and not a reflection of your actual views, but it could also be a suggestion that you tend to think of physical disability as something that's limited to there being a visual sign of, and there's a lot of invisible symptoms and changes to the ways a disabled person interacts with society and society with them that don't alter a disabled person's appearance in anyway...and many of these things are the exact stuff a lot of unacknowledged ableism revolves around.
So I'd like to give you and other anons more credit and the benefit of the doubt and assume you know what you're talking about and don't need things broken down as much as I tend to break them down to - but keep in mind I don't OWE you that, and its a lot to ask someone to take you on faith when you've already made the conscious choice to present yourself to them anonymously, and deliberately limit how much a person even CAN know about you before answering, when you have an equal opportunity to present yourself by name, allowing someone the full context afforded by your blog, that they can use to familiarize themselves with you and what you likely do or don't know before answering. I don't think its entirely reasonable to anonymize YOURSELF and then expect people to still give you the benefit of the doubt.
Especially when not giving you the benefit of the doubt only really results in me over-explaining something you don't think you need explained in certain ways or in as much depth. Its not hurting anyone, and you're not going to be the only one reading this response and maybe that over-explanation ISN'T something other people know and it could still be of use to someone else, y'know?
But lastly, please keep in mind that you came to me, and I just answered in the way that made the most sense to me. If that didn't work for you or wasn't what you're looking for, that's fine, but like. You knew way more about me going into this interaction than I could possibly know about you, and assuming good faith of you and your interest in my response and giving you as much of a response as I did in the first place, let alone now, IS giving you the benefit of the doubt in the sense that I'm assuming you can find some way in which these responses are of use to you.
And if not, like....just don't send me more asks? LOL. I kinda feel like you just didn't expect the answer you got, and that's sitting weirdly with you. Which I get, to be honest, but I don't particularly think that's a me problem, because that has nothing to do with anything I can control.
I can only give the answer that occurs to me when I read and think about an ask. I can't guarantee it'll ever be the answer the asker actually WANTS.
