Eddie wants to scream. Eddie wants to talk to Buck. There are questions he should ask - Do you know when the bleeding started? How long has it been? How bad does it hurt? Are you injured anywhere else? There is a conversation he wants to have - If I leave you here I don’t know that you’ll be alive when I get back. There are protocols, in disaster situations. If you can only save one person, you save the one most likely to survive. Beyond protocol, you always fucking save the kid. Beyond that, it's our kid. It’s our fucking kid, it’s Christopher, and I am going to get him to the surface and in doing so I am going to leave you for dead. But it’s Buck, and they never really needed words to talk, and Buck is still looking at him, and Eddie knows what he'd say. He'd downplay the injury. He knows the protocol. And he’d already said it, damned him out loud, he’s going to take you back up top and then come back for me.

Little Kreature (The Boys Drabble)
Tumblr media
Billy Butcher x Fem!Reader (only indicator for gender is the phrase 'atta girl') / requests are open
Summary: The mission goes well and Butcher's found a surprise for you.
Fic type: fluff (gore mentions).
The Boys: (send an ask to be added to a tag list!)
─── ・ 。゚☆: *. .* :☆゚. ───
"Oi, love," you hear Butcher call from the other end of the hall. "Come take a look at this, eh?"
You roll your eyes but do as you're told, wandering down the hallway, streaking your fingers along the walls and trailing them through the blood that was splattered up and down and all the way across the eggshell-white walls. Well, they were eggshell. Hmm. You think you like red better.
You reach Butcher, giving him the side-eye when he gives your ass a slap and an accompanying "atta girl."
"What, Butcher?"
He nods his head towards the opened door, and what you see when you look inside has your jaw dropping open in shock.
"Don't you say I do 'nuffin for y'ah," he groused, checking down the hallway to make sure no more guards were coming up the stairs.
It's almost startling, seeing the spotless room when you've just waded through the guts of about twelve people splattered across every surface you could lay your eyes on. Yeah, you were the one who gutted them all, but still. What could you say? It was a gift.
But right there, sitting on the edge of the bed, was a puppy. A little speck of a thing, all soft-eared and floppy-skinned. He was precious, and the way Butcher was looking at you- you knew he'd already decided you could keep the thing.
"Oh, aren't you a precious little baby," you cooed, wiping the blood off your hands and onto your jeans before you reached out for the puppy to sniff your hand. His little head flopped to the side and you just about melted right then and there.
"Oh, Billy, look at him," you pouted, turning around and showing your boyfriend-cross-boss-cross-situationship the baby in your arms.
"Yeah, yeah, cute little cunt, ain't 'e?"
When you stood there content to coo at the thing for another however long, Butcher grunted, fingers shifting around the trigger on his handgun. He wanted to leave now that you'd taken out the Vought exec and her guards. Clearly, she was a fan of dogs. It almost made you feel a little guilty. Almost.
"Right love," Butcher said, deciding you'd both dicked around long enough. "Let's get this show on the road, eh? We don't want to be here when they send more supes to figure out what's happened. Grab y'er pup and let's boogie."
"Sir yes, sir," you replied with a flirtatious wink before making your way back through the blood-soaked home and out the door where MM and the others were waiting for you, guards and mission all but forgotten.
Now you only needed to pick a name for your little friend.
"How about Kreature?" You asked the pup as Frenchie opened the van door and ushered you inside, Butcher hot on your heels.
"Whatever you want, love," came Butcher's voice, assuming you'd been speaking to him.
Kreature it was, then.

Kreature: *speaking to Ron, Harry and Hermione* Master Regulus nursed me back to health, and ordered me to take him back to the cave, so that he could steal the locket
*looking down from the afterlife*
Sirius: So you’re telling me… that you betrayed and stole from the most powerful Tyrant that the wizarding world has ever seen…. Because he almost poisoned that ugly ass little cretin-
Regulus: yes
Sirius: but when I, your BROTHER begged you to leave with me when mummy dearest beat me within half an in inch of my life… you did jack shit.
Regulus: …
Regulus: oh fuck off Sirius Mother was far more terrifying then the Dark Lord and you know it-

Hermione knocked on the door of the small house.
It was Dumbledore's idea- going to the house of Cassiopeia Malfoy.
But Dumbledore was gone, and now it was up to the trio.
The door opened slowly.
A small woman with the infamous white Malfoy hair peered through the crack. "H…Hello?"
Hermione gave a small smile, "Hello. We're looking for Cassiopeia Malfoy."
The woman's eyebrows furrowed, but her voice remained quiet, "What do you want with her?"
Harry stepped forward, "We have some questions. About this."
He held up the fake locket.
Even Ron noticed the widening of her eyes and the quickening of her breath.
"…Come in."
The woman set down four cups of hot tea and sat in one of the chairs of the living room. "How did you know I knew about this?"
Ron piped up, "Kreature mentioned you."
Her head tilted, "Kreature? Kreature talked about me?"
"Yeah," Harry chirped as he took a sip of the tea. "He said you took the locket. To keep him from getting hurt."
"That's true," she said. "I couldn't leave him like that. Everyone knows where the Black house is. I could hide it away and no one would know."
"Hide it?" Hermione asked. "What's your connection to the Blacks?"
"My connection?" She almost scoffed. "I am a Black. Somewhat."
The trio gave each other confused looks.
"Oh. You… you didn't… I didn't… um…" Her eyes widened as she looked away.
"You knew Sirius. He said that." Harry said. "Did you… marry him?"
The woman gave out a laugh, "Merlin, no!" She pushed a strand of her curly hair behind her ear. "No, no. Sirius and I were wonderful friends, yes. But, no. I was married to Regulus."
"You married Regulus Black?" Hermione asked in shock.
"I didn't know he was married," Ron quirked.
"That was the point," Cassiopeia said. "After… after James and Lily died- the day they died- Regulus and I married."
"While you were still in school?" Hermione asked again.
"Yes," she said. "We loved each other so much. But, we feared that something could happen to us, and we married that day. If we were to die, we wanted to be married first."
"That's romantic," Hermione sighed.
"That's bloody ridiculous," Ron scoffed.
"Ronald!" Hermione scorned.
"No, it was." Cassiopeia said. "But, it worked. Regulus died not long after and… I still carry the name."
"Cassiopeia… Black?" Harry asked.
She nodded. "But no one else knows that."
She snapped out of her thoughts, "Right. The locket."
Harry gripped it in his hand, "Locket? I thought it was just a pendant."
"Oh, no." She said. "A locket. But it holds something wicked inside."
"The horcrux." Hermione chimed in.
"Yes. A horcrux. Let me… um…" She stood and disappeared into one of the side rooms of her home. They heard the sound of digging in one of the drawers before she appeared again, "Here it is."
In her hand, a horcrux of Lord Voldemort dangled delicately.
Harry held a hand up to his forehead in pain.
"It was the last thing Regulus did- getting this, I mean." She stated.
Ron held out his hand, taking the locket in his hand. "What happened exactly?"
"It's complicated. You know how to destroy a horcrux?"
Harry shrugged, "No, but we intend to find out."
"Well, if surviving in that cave is any indication, I'd say you three can figure it out."
Her words provided little comfort.
Harry moved forward in his seat, "I know I'm simply prying but-"
"-But how did he die?" Cassiopeia guessed.
Harry nodded.
"He was drowned by the Inferi."
"He died IN the cave?" Harry asked.
She nodded, sipping her tea again. Her voice was barely heard, "yes."
The three noticed the shaking in her hands.
"Please. Tell us what happened?" Hermione pleaded.
She sighed and set the cup down, "Regulus was a calculated man. He knew what he was doing. He gained the trust of the Dark Lord. He was… he was in the higher ranks. But when Sirius was charged falsely for betraying your parents, Regulus knew the truth and vowed to find a way to kill Voldemort. He… discovered the horcruxes and… well…"
Harry nodded and opened his mouth to say more, but paused when he heard the front door open and a familiar voice ring throughout the home, "Sophie?"
Cassiopeia turned her head to look over her shoulder, "I'm in here, love."
The trio felt the air leave their lungs as Remus Lupin rounded the corner.
He paused, "Oh. Harry, Ron, Hermione. I didn't… I wasn't expecting you three."
He stepped toward the woman and placed his hands on her shoulders, "Is everything alright?"
"Yes, Harry is just here to ask about Regulus."
Remus nodded, "I see."
"I'm so sorry," Hermione chimed in. "I have to ask…"
Cassiopeia sighed as her cheeks turned red, "It's a… newer development. Things have been hard for us as of late, and… we find… solace in each other."
They both loved a Black brother.
And both of those brothers were dead.
Remus nodded and bent down to kiss the crown of her head. "I'll make supper. You three stay tonight."
"No, that's alright, Remus-" Harry said.
"-Nonsense." Remus chided. "It's dangerous for you three right now. Stay at least tonight. For me."
The three debated and communicated through their eyes before Harry nodded, "That would be lovely. Thank you."
It was relieving to Harry to finally get to see two people that truly loved each other interact in such a domestic state: making supper.
Their hands brushed occasionally and they shared a smile each time.
He couldn't help but stare.
Even as Remus pulled one of her arms towards him. She absentmindedly let him, immersed in her cooking. He pulled the sleeve of her shirt to her elbow and rubbed the faded dark mark that resided there.
She quickly turned to look at him.
He gave a sweet smile and gently kissed her wrist, then kissed her cheek.
She smiled and shooed him away.
"Why have you never mentioned her before?" Harry asked Remus after dinner.
The man sighed, "It's too complicated."
"Well, we have time." Harry scoffed.
"No, you need your rest. Sleep and we'll talk in the morning. I'll help you get anything you need for the road."
"Thank you, Remus."
"-Remus?" Cassiopeia almost whispered as she leaned against the doorframe of the kitchen.
Remus could feel himself melting at her tired eyes. "Yes, dove?"
"When are you coming to bed?"
His eyes flicked to Harry, then back to her, "In just a moment, darling, I promise."
She nodded and rubbed her eyes. She turned back to her room and muttered a quiet, "G'night, Harry."
Harry made a note of the light in Remus's eyes.
"Tell me." Remus concluded, "Did she tell you what you needed to know?"
Harry shrugged, "I mean…. I still don't know how to destroy it, but I have it now, and that's all I needed from her."
Remus nodded, and pulled his lips into a thin line in thought.
"I'm sorry," Harry piped up, "about Regulus. That must have been hard for her."
"You've no idea," Remus muttered. "She's always been a sweet soul. Even back at Hogwarts. Everyone loved her."
"How the hell did she end up marrying Regulus?" Harry asked.
"She was a Hufflepuff. The Malfoys were outraged. But Regulus managed to talk Lucius into keeping ties with her. After all, that was his sister. But… Regulus took an interest in her. Who wouldn't?" Remus leaned back in his seat, reminiscing out loud for Harry. "And they secretly dated for almost a year before we found out- me, Sirius, Peter, and your father. She ran around in some of our circles. Peter was infatuated with her. We teased him about it all of the time but Sirius would always get mad."
Harry felt a smile come to his face at the thought of his parents' time at the school.
"Regulus and Sophie were still in school, their seventh year when your parents died. Seeing Sirius accused and sent to Askaban. It sent Regulus into a tailspin. They were married after that."
"Yeah, she mentioned that."
"Well, Regulus came to the Order and offered information. We accepted. Not long after, we heard of his death."
Harry furrowed his brows, "But surely Cassiopeia would've stopped him from going, right?"
Remus ran a hand over his face and sighed, "No. He promised her he'd take her… to ease her spirits. But he left in the morning before she awoke. Left her a note. And never came back." He chewed on his lip before continuing, "She didn't find out what happened until Kreature came back and told her."
"And… the dark mark?"
"Ah, yes. Um… She joined when she was dating Regulus. It was to please everyone's families so they could be married. But, she wasn't ever loyal to Voldemort. And Regulus didn't make her attend meetings. He couldn't bare to corrupt her like that."
The boy who lived was finally starting to understand. "And you two…"
Remus chuckled, "We used to be wonderful friends at Hogwarts. Studied together. Never any romantic feelings. Wasn't until after Sirius died that we grew attached to each other."
Cassiopeia appeared in the doorway again, her hair awry this time and wearing pajamas, "-Remus? You promised."
"And so I did, Sophie." He stood and walked to her, taking her waist in his hands gently. "Good night, Harry. We'll talk in the morning."
Harry could hear the two wandering down the hall as Remus cooed, "Let's get you to bed, sweet woman."
It made the boy's heart happy.
In another world, he thought, they'd be beyond happy.
He flipped the locket over and over in his hand, lost in thought.
Cassiopeia Black. Hmm.

Of all the Death Eaters, even when they side with Voldy, Avery Jr. doesn't seem that evil. Like, as a kid he was a bit of a bully, but as an adult, we see him scheming up a plan that would involve hurting the minimum amount of people, although it was a dumb one, and he begs upon Voldemorts return forgiveness not only for himself, but also his comrads. Makes me think most death eaters are morally grey, not necessarely personally evil.
Peter Pettigrew, is resentful and cowardly, but...He doesn't do that for pleasure.
Draco Malfoy is little more than a school yard bully who's more parent-oriented than peer-oriented. He's honestly the least scary out of them.
Regulus died to save his house elf Kreature.
The young Death Eaters prior to meeting Voldy were probably not that bad. Not good by any means, but not this twisted and evil.
True, the same goes for Severus who turned spy when his childhood friend became a target.
Not all slytherins were sick and twisted. They weren't fully good but they still had some sort goodness in their heart.

I need to talk to someone about moonwater but I’m like terrified of interacting with people when it’s not anonymous
But Remus is my favorite character ever I love him with all my heart and I absolutely believe that he and Regulus could I’ve been together because their vibe just match like
Grumpy boyfriends hanging out in the library or destroying horcruxes together like whatever you have about them I want it
That's absolutely understandable! It can be so scary to talk to people when you don't know what they feel about what you're going to say. I have to remind myself sometimes that those people I see posting stuff that I like aren't just famous untouchable celebrities; those are my peers. We're actually all friends in Book Club together!
Remus is a very interesting character, and I can totally see why you like him! I like him too. Regulus is one of my favorites personally.
I love the Grumpy boyfriends hanging out in the library. They so are.
They just do their own things in companionable silence.
Maybe Remus gets some sleep in at the library because he's just always exhausted between full moons, hanging out his friends, going to classes, reviewing class material, and writing any number of essays they assign. Not to mention the time he just doesn't have for any personal hobbies. And I'm sure his body is constantly in pain even outside the full moon because bodies kind of suck sometimes and he's definitely got aching bones and sore muscles.
Regulus definitely helps his boyfriend out by doing some of his essays and such for him. And it allows him to become familiar with the future material since Remus is in the year above him, so by the time the next year comes around, Regulus will already have a guideline and a light familiarity that will make the material in class come easier to him. So it's really a win-win for him. His boyfriend gets to catch a break and he gets a headstart in his studies.
Maybe Remus worries that Regulus feels obligated to do his work for him though. And I think maybe for a little bit it puts a strain on their relationship. Remus will stop sleeping in the library so he can do his work or just not go altogether. And then Regulus will be worried that Remus isn't sleeping and it's obviously taking a toll on him.
They probably have a few uncomfortable tense silences where neither of them can focus because they're both concerned and stressed out.
Until finally they talk it out.
And Regulus hadn't even realized that Remus was concerned about Regulus, and he's very touched by the thoughtfulness. It's unfamiliar to him, and it's just another reason why he's glad he has Remus.
And Remus didn't realize that Regulus was using homework as like a study guide for future classes and was more concerned about Remus's physical wellbeing. It's definitely a big weight off his shoulders to know that he's not being a burden.
Regulus would probably have to have a talk later with Remus about his awful prioritization skills.
×
Now as for Horcrux hunting together.
First this means that Regulus becomes a Death Eater because the events leading up to him discovering the Horcruxes requires him to allow the Dark Lord to borrow Kreature.
So I think their relationship becomes very strained. From what I understand, Remus tends to avoid his problems and downplay how things happened and probably has a bit of learned helplessness.
So Remus is uncomfortable with the path Regulus has gone down by becoming a Death Eater, but he really doesn't know how to bring it up and talk about it. And he still loves Regulus, but he hates the things he's doing. So maybe Remus avoids Regulus, keeps his distance. And any time Regulus asks, Remus is like oh no! Don't worry! I'm just super busy and stuff.
And Regulus of course isn't stupid. He knows Remus is avoiding him. He knows Remus is uncomfortable. He loves Remus, and he's absolutely selfish. But he also doesn't want Remus to be uncomfortable around him. So he probably breaks things off for Remus's sake. Because he knows he won't. That self-sacrificial idiot (affectionate, bittersweet)
And maybe they have an argument at that moment. Where everything comes free. And they go back and forth and can't even come to an agreement. And they leave. And it hurts to disagree on something so fundamental.
But when the Dark Lord asks for Kreature months or years later, and Kreature comes back shaking, sobbing, clinging, in tears, Regulus finds out what happened with Kreature.
And Regulus is going through it. Everything he thought he knew about the Dark Lord and his beliefs just got shattered. And Kreature — his best friend — got seriously hurt because of his narrow mind.
And he has to go to Remus with poor distressed Kreature cradled in his arms. And Regulus apologizes. Because Remus was right. And Regulus had been too stubborn to be swayed. And he had to learn the hard way, by having someone he cared about deeply being hurt. And he wishes he'd just listened to Remus.
And Remus thanks him. Says he's glad he came around. That he's sorry Kreature was hurt in the process. And how can he help.
And so they start their investigation.
First researching that locket. Finding out it is Slytherin's Locket. And then trying to figure out why the Dark Lord is hiding Slytherin's Locket in some horrible potion on an island in a cave. It's just all so convoluted for something that's highly valued sure but otherwise would be better just put on display somewhere.
And eventually they find out about the horrific existence that is a Horcrux. And Regulus finds a new level of disrespect he has for this Dark Lord. The Dark Lord's main focus is just to not die. What's the point of not dying if you don't also live though?
And while researching and investigating the whole issue together, they're actually looking out for each other. Making sure to take breaks. To eat and drink water. And to sleep. And they both sleep so much better than either have in ages wrapped in each other's arms.
And Remus still has his responsibilities with the Order that he's taking care of with the werewolves. And then coming home hurting and exhausted.
And Regulus just takes care of any injuries Remus may have (I love you).
And he draws nice warm baths for him (I love you).
And he gives him massages (I love you).
And he makes him cups of hot chocolate (I love you).
And Remus holds Regulus tightly and reminds him of who he is when he forgets because "Who am I without the Dark Lord?" "Yourself." (I love you.)
And he gives him chocolate and breathes with him and prods for Regulus to share what's on his mind when he becomes so filled with dread that he thinks he's going to die. (I love you.)
And Remus writes encouraging words and draws silly doodles on sticky notes and just sticks them everywhere because they make Regulus smile. (I love you.)
Regulus writes a melodramatic little note to put in their fake locket. And Remus assures him that he's not dying anytime soon on his watch. And that the Dark Lord would be after they retrieve and destroy the real one. And did they really need to tell the Dark Lord what they're doing. Regulus assures him that yes, the Dark Lord needs to know that Regulus is pissed at him and that he will not tolerate this sort of disrespectful behavior.
And then they're in the Cave. And Regulus insists he drink the potion. That this is his mess that he dragged Remus into. And Remus corrects him that it's their mess that he chose to be a part of.
Regulus still drinks the potion. And it's hell. And he knew it would be hell but it's so much worse than he thought.
He sees his mother and his father. And he sees Sirius. He sees the Dark Lord. And some of his old friends that he'd lost contact with. And some other Death Eaters. And he sees Remus.
But the real Remus is right beside him, holding onto him. And coaxing him into drinking just a little more, just one more little sip, just a little more.
And he cries. And he begs because he doesn't want to drink anymore. He doesn't think there's anything quite as awful as this. How can he drink and drink and drink something that makes him thirstier and thirstier? And he wants to drink it less and less with each scoop poured down his throat.
And Remus swaps the Lockets and Regulus is insane with thirst and hell visions and tries to take just a little sip from the lake.
Sickly hands claw at his skin from within, trying to pull Regulus into the lake. And Remus jumps in after him.
If Remus was good at anything, it was Defense Against the Dark Arts. And of course, he knows what Inferi are and that they're weak to fire. Remus manages to get them out of there alive.
(and I'm not going to pretend to know how they'd figure out there's more. maybe at that point, they'd need to bring it up with Dumbledore and the Order. But there you go, Anon!)

have you reviewed the non-hisuian sneasel line?
Tumblr media
Sneasel has an interesting history, because the original Spaceworld beta design was like this:
Tumblr media
Which then got updated AGAIN to this design before they settled on the final version:
Tumblr media
I gotta say, final Sneasel was definitely the best design. The first design is cute but generic, having no real personality or any traits to make it stand out. The second design has more personality, but a generic body shape and lack of detail. The final design has both personality and some interesting elements in addition to the claws, namely the red feathers—an unexpected but welcome addition to a weasel monster. It's also asymmetrical, which is somewhat of a rarity in Pokemon designs.
It's also worth noting that Sneasel is likely based off of a kamaitachi, a type of Japanese weasel demon (there's a fun set of words) associated with cold weather, hence the dark/ice typing. I do kind of wish the ice typing was represented more visually—I feel like it's easy to forgot unless you're familiar with the yokai in question—but I appreciate the folklore behind it.
While I might be in the minority here, I would generally say I like Johtonian Sneasel more than the Hisuian version. It's not that the Hisuian variant is bad, but I feel like classic Sneasel just has more focus and better colors; a nice dark blue body for contrast and some bright red accents to make it pop, without extraneous markings or detail.
With that said, I do feel like the little gemstones over the body are a bit out of place. I get wanting something there, but they just feel very "random"; it's also bothersome to have another color in there (I feel like the gems could've been red and the eyes yellow, as the eyes are what you really want to pop). That's a minor nitpick, however.
Tumblr media
(For some reason Weavile's official art shows it as being purple in color, but in all other appearances it shares Sneasel's blue. For the record, the blue is better; no reason to change it out of nowhere.)
Much as I'm more of an original Sneasel person, I also prefer Weavile over Sneasler. Outside of it being more of a kreature(TM), I also feel like there's more of a logical progression here. Sneasel's thing is its claws and its feathers, so giving it an extra claw on each limb and then expanding the feathers to encompass both ears, a collar, and a "headdress" of sorts feels like a very natural extension of Sneasel's design.
I do feel like the claws could've been a bit longer on the front limbs and I kind of wonder if the tail feathers were even needed at this point, but for the most part, it's solid.
Tumblr media
Another little thing I like about Weavile is that it has high intelligence and hunts in packs. It's just a neat little biology detail; a lot of Pokemon don't specify what kind of social interactions they have, so I love the extra thought put into here.
Overall, some pretty solid weasels with quite a few interesting details that help spice up with would otherwise be a plain design.

never grow up; sirius black, regulus black

"what're you doing hanging out with a blood traitor's like that potter boy, and loony's like the lupin boy, son!" his father shouted firmly, whilst his manic cousin chuckled loudly behind him.
"we're a respectable family, sirius, we're meant to look down upon those ruthless, ruthless neanderthals. the impure sympathisers," he continued to berate his eldest son, who shrunk back with every scheming word.
"they're not 'impure sympathisers', mother, they see people as people, they're kind. and not nearly as evil and conniving as you lot," he furiously yelled back at his parents, guttural cries mixed with his anger as he became more and more frustrated, daring to push the boundaries for the first time in his life as he broke down. he ran a hand over his freshly shaven hair, ignoring the snide remarks of his cousin who poked fun at his now missing locks and mocking his misery.
his mother, walburga, cast a silencing charm over the boy before ordering kreature to lead the boy to his room. reluctantly, he had obliged, following the ragged house elf through the dark and creaky corridors and up the narrow staircase. however, not before he heard the abrupt gasps of those he was related to after his swift departure.
the boy flinched as the magical portraits of his ancestors yelled obscenities at him, having heard the argument between his parents and himself.
"what's a blood traitor like you still doing in such a noble house?" they screeched, "you should know better, sirius black, you were meant to be a great leader, following in our footsteps," another proudly expressed, before returning to the song and dance the portraits did as they exchanged gossip.
finally, they had reached the end of the cleverly placed portraits with the highest opinions. the boy relaxed his pinched features as he sighed in relief upon leaving the threshold.
"i just need to check to see if master regulus needs anything else, if that's quite alright, master sirius," the house elf stated with a smirk on his face as he mocked a bow. his voice ear piercing as it became more gravelly with age.
"yeah, of course," sirius shrugged, hopeful his younger brother didn't hear the vile exchange, yet happy for the distraction.
the floorboards underneath their feet continued to echo through the house as they shifted with each step. the younger of the two brother's had his door left ajar, the plaque with his name on it glistening melancholically as the sun set.
kreature pushed the door open as he cleared his throat. startled, like a deer in headlights, regulus black snapped the book he had been reading shut and ran a hand slickly through his hair before greeting the house elf. his eyes danced over to his older brother, shock stunning his features,
"what'd they do to you, siri," he questioned unsurely, despite knowing exactly what had occurred downstairs as he dismissed the respected house elf, who vanished with a pop. silently, sirius scoffed, dumbfounded at the ignorance of his brother.
at the realisation of his forced silence, the black haired boy ordered the house elf to lift the silencing charm so that way he could receive an answer.
"i'm leaving grimmauld place, going to a friends," his straighten his posture as he avoided the question. he rolled his eyes as his brother grimaced, opening scoffing at the idea. silence ran thickly through the air.
"you could come with me, if you'd like," he offered, voice sincere despite already knowing the answer, how brainwashed his brother had become at the hands of his cruel and evil parents.
"how long will you be gone?" regulus' voice was now solemn, realising the gravity of how serious his brother was being. his mind raced as he fought both sides of an internal battle in a matter of seconds.
"i'm uh, i'm not coming back, reg," the older boy's voice was now quiet, barely a whisper as he pleaded with his eyes toward his brother. his eyes glazed over, mentally begging his brother to have a sudden change of heart.
"oh... when do you leave?" his response was curt, voice monotone as he seemed to have disappeared from behind his eyes. that was when sirius knew.
"first light, regulus, you have until then to make up your mind," with that, the eldest of the noble houses heirs walked away, waiting until he was out of his brother's eye line to pause as he closed his eyes, ruminating over the interaction.
it continuously replayed in his mind as he tossed and turned in his bed, knowing he wouldn't catch a wink of sleep. he opened he eyes, watching the minute and second hand race against one another as first light began to encroach across london.
droplets of rain threw itself harshly at the glass window rhythmically. he swung his legs over the side of his bed, second guessing the decision to leave his home. however, he quickly scolded himself to even doubting the benefits of the decision.
hurriedly, he stuffed all his belongings in a never ending suitcase he had used for his previous years at school, meticulously leaving his muggle posters and gryffindor memorabilia around his room, rummaging for anything of importance.
crackling footsteps approached his door, as panic filled the boy he drew his wand nervously. he clambered back into bed frantically as the golden handle to the door began to turn slowly. immediately he had known it was his parents, the person turning the handle was hesitant, his parents would've just barged in.
the hinges squealed against itself as the door slid open ajar. a match-stricken candle rested delicately in its holder as the intruder pushed it through the threshold of the door.
"i don't think you should be doing this," the boy's heart dropped as the innocent voice of his brother ran through his ears.
"i have to, it's that or be tortured. or become some sort of slave to the next tyrant who decides they are fit to rule our world, brother," he began to climb out of bed again, reaching for his bag, and bid farewell to his tawny owl.
"will you tell me where you're going, at least?" regulus became more desperate, pleading for his older brother to stay as he clutched his right forearm painfully.
"i can't, i can't risk them finding me, sorry," suddenly, he found himself becoming nonchalant, moving to lace his shoes, trying not to shrink under his brother's intimidating gaze.
"goodnight, brother, i have to go now," he brushed passed the younger boy, hurrying silently down the stairs in an attempt to not wake the portraits.
for the last time, he turned back, features falling as his brother stood adolescently at the top of the stairs, watching his brother leave him. he manoeuvred through the bottom level of the house, toward the floo fireplace, hoping it wasn't blocked.
but naturally, it was. so he unlocked the front door, to be met by the pummelling rain he had once found comforting. a cold shiver rolled down his spine, the wheels of his luggage clunking behind him as he quietly shut the door to twelve grimmauld place, for the last time.
he moved sadly through north islington, trying to locate the nearest floo network to get to his friend's house.
after some time, and by some sort of miracle, he found himself lucky. sirius had found a wizarding safe house. that was bound to have a floo network. he thought hopefully, approaching the house and knocking wearily on the front door three times.
an older woman answered, letting the boy in unquestioningly. leading him to the fireplace knowingly, and holding out a decorative cauldron filled to the brim with floo powder. he thanked the old witch, who silently bowed her head in recognition, before ushering him to step into the tall fireplace.
"the potter mansion," he spoke monotonously, clutching his luggage as he threw the floo powder to the ground and sparks of bright green flames engulfed him suddenly.
his stomach twisted as he moved magically through the network, his vision warping whilst he shot through the tunnel-like plane. thankfully, it wasn't long before he stood himself upright, brushing the ash off of his dampened body, before stepping out of the fireplace cautiously.
"hello?" the familiar maternal voice spoke from the kitchen, the kind woman swaying through into the living space as the boy continued to dust himself off. "sirius! how lovely to see you dear, i wasn't expecting you?" her tone dripping like honey, as she was quick to cast a drying charm over him.
"oh, sorry mrs. potter, i had a spat with my parents and i think i need somewhere to stay?" he knew he didn't need to pose it as a question, as the woman's features lit up at the opportunity to entertain her son's friend, who was rarely allowed to make an appearance at the family's home.
"of course, my dear, of course," she paused as she continued to look him over, "let me get one of the elves to call james, who'll show you to your room, i'm sure he'll be ecstatic to see you," she smiled sweetly, before loudly speaking the name of one of the potter's house elves.
after a beat, james tiredly moved down the stairs as he tried to put his glasses on straight, stopping when he spotted his friend.
"sirius! what've they done to you?" he immediately perked up, giving the boy a once over as he tried to piece together the events that had clearly recently occurred.
"i think i've just been disowned," a certain amusement danced through his tone.
the potter's and sirius charged through the wall between platform's nine and ten at kings cross station in order to board the train into the scottish highlands. instinctively, the boy with the shaven head scanned the platform, looking for his brother.
it wasn't until they had boarded the train, the compartment already rowdy, before he spotted the boy. he looked different, sickly. only a few weeks had passed since sirius had left, so how could things have gone so wrong? regulus' eyes were sunken in, cheeks hollow as he looked like a shell of himself. something had changed. something bad.
he didn't mention it to his friends, silently deliberating whether his departure was the right decision. for him, it absolutely was, but what were his mother and father now doing to his brother. his brother who had done nothing but obey their every whim. it led him to wonder what more they could've possibly asked of him.
but his friends saw his younger sibling. they saw the same things he did, and wondered how someone could be so cruel to their own child. but they didn't dare mention it, yet the tension as if they had had strangled the air of their compartment.
"i hope he's alright, you know," sirius suddenly spoke, earning several exclamations of approval from his peers, before he silently retreated back into the lingering thoughts of his mind.
he had spotted regulus around the school. much like regulus, who had spotted sirius lingering whenever he was around. desperately, the younger boy wanted to approach his brother, begging him to go back home and to apologise to his parents. beg for their forgiveness, so that he could be in his life again.
he didn't, though, regardless of how desperately he wanted to. he wanted his older brother back. but he couldn't even ask, as his parents now had eyes everywhere. it wasn't just their psychopathic cousin anymore, it was her younger sister, and their associates within slytherin house. all eyes were on the two estranged brothers. they were at a stalemate.
although, it became rarer and rarer for the pair to cross paths. regulus was now apart of the dreaded death eater meetings, before finally being tasked with something in order to prove his loyalty to voldemort. he was the only one who knew of this task, and the only one able to complete it, to pledge his competence and his undying loyalty to the 'true cause'.
he braced the task with honour, bargaining for both the approval of the dark lord and his parents.
that's when he first disappeared. right before half term began. only those within his close circle were in the know as to why he had suddenly disappeared, but many speculated. after all, it was a matter of time before one of the black family heirs pledged their allegiance to the cause. what people didn't expect, however, was for it to be the younger of the two brothers.
sirius now lived full time at the potter's estate. they very swiftly had become what had felt like his true parents. james was his brother, and euphemia and fleamont were his mother and father. his mum and dad. he had valued them greatly, respecting their alliance and allegiance to the dumbledore family, and the hogwarts headmaster's own alliances.
which was why it hadn't been strange when the two adolescent's potions professor had come knocking. the matriarch of the house swung the door open and wore a friendly smile as she greeted the young professor.
"euphemia! hi, how've you been," his voice solemn, as he removed the academic cap which adorned his head.
the woman replied sweetly, before inviting the man in, who immediately began asking after the runaway boy. reluctantly, sirius answered the call, following the house elf who led him down the stairs of the house. the boy greeted the professor with a boyish smile, which unusually wasn't reciprocated.
"mr. black, i fear i have some rather unfortunate news for you," his voice dropped an octave as the boy took a hesitant step towards his professor.
"go on," the adolescent encouraged, remaining poised, despite the faltering internal composure he held.
"uh, how do i say this kindly... uhm, i carry the burden of telling you that regulus has passed away, it was tragic, really," the man's voice sincere, as sirius' eyes glossed over, threatening to spill an endless waterfall.
what felt like a lifetime was only a mere few moments. it was a blur, as the man gave him more dreaded details, before making an abrupt exit.
the boy couldn't function, barely registering the fact he was embraced by the three potter's. who consoled the boy as he silently wept, before james carefully lead the boy into his own room, climbing in bed with him and laying there until he finally fell asleep from exhaustion.
ultimately, sirius was grateful for the comfort that his best friend's family thoughtlessly gave him, without a second thought. however, it was at that moment that his world stopped, he became reckless. he had not a care in the world as he was slowly roped into making several reckless and awful decisions.
his return to school was intense. horrid whispers from his peers wormed through his ears as they speculated what had truly happened to the boy's youngest brother. many had queried whether or not it was sirius' doing, which had hurt him the most.
he blamed himself. for years. if he hadn't left, then maybe, hopefully, regulus wouldn't have fallen down the dark path he did. maybe he wouldn't have surrounded himself with the company of the dark lord. maybe he would've stayed the young little innocent boy he had been when sirius had left.

Hi! Could you give me some sex toy advice? I have recently learned that my dildo I've been using for years now is made of PVC, which is not a body safe material! also the paint/coating of some sort is chipping off my vibrator which can't be good either. So I think it's time for some new ones. Obviously Adam and Eve can't be trusted to not sell shit that leaks chemicals into my coochie so do you have any websites you recommend for good quality but cheap sex toys? Also like. im worried that I've ultra fucked up by using an unsafe toy and I dont know what to do now besides quietly have anxiety about it. Thanks sorry
hi anon,
sorry about the loss of your reliable old toys, but I'm glad you're moving on to better and more body-safe things!
I'm also going to be frank with you: sometimes good quality means spending a little more money. sex toys are not something that I can in good conscience recommend skimping on. spending money on a toy that will last longer and NOT bleed phthalates into your body is an investment worth making, both in yourself and in the retailers you buy from.
some recommendations I will drop here, from sex toy sellers I personally dig and/or have heard good things about:
Spectrum Boutique
Smitten Kitten
Kreature Toys for you monster/alien fuckers out there
Babeland
Early to Bed
Feelmore
I also recommend doing a little browsing of your own over at Super Smash Cache if you're looking for ideas. they own more sex toys than anyone I know and LOVE writing reviews, so you're sure to find some inspiration there!
OH also hey. listen. sex toys made of PVC aren't awesome but they're also not, like, immediately radioactively lethal dangerous. unless you're experiencing any painful or unusual symptoms around your vulva or vagina, I promise it's okay to relax about it and just jot that down as something silly you did before you knew better. like when I used to eat sand as a kid.
