I'm SO hype!! It'll finally be playable after the original PC port was god awful.

Not edited, it’s been a minute.
On Friday night after school Melissa and Jacob find themselves at a shared favorite restaurant sipping drinks and chatting like they do in their new found friendship.
“And then,” Jacob laughs, “then I did my walk of shame practically blind and almost tripped in the crosswalk on 5th.”
Jacob and Melissa howl with laughter in their booth, the redhead wiping her eyes. “Oh god, kid. I’m impressed.”
“Jacob what are you doing here?”
Looking up Melissa’s breath hitches when she sees the gorgeous woman next to their booth. “Stelle splendenti.” She whispers smiling at the stranger.
“Y/n!” Jacob stands up pulling the woman into a hug. “Melissa, this is my friend, I was just telling her about you recently.”
“You’re a friend of Jacob’s?” The redhead smiles gesturing for the stranger to sit.
“Yeah, this guy crashed on my couch for a few months and we’ve been friends ever since.” The woman smiles. “If I weren’t living in a shoe box it’d probably be the same set up now.” She chuckles.
“Ah it’s alright, Mel Mel and I are good friends now.”
Melissa nods trying not to stare at the woman, completely mesmerized by her eyes. She doesn’t know it, but Jacob catches on right away.
“Ya know, y/n, Melissa has a ticket guy for sports. I know you like the flyers, maybe we can all go to a match sometime.”
“Game,” Malissa and the woman correct him at the same time. “You like the flyers, hon?”
“I do,” she nods with a chuckle. “I’ve always loved hockey, football is a close second though.”
Now Melissa is very intrigued.
“Pretty and a sports fan? Jacob where have you been keeping this one?”
The conversation goes on, and it turns out this woman is a breath of fresh air.
“No it’s from the 40s originally, way before all of us.” She laughs, her eyes crinkling.
“What can I say, hon you’ve got good taste.”
She smiles at the redhead with a shrug. “I usually do.”
Hours later, Melissa is dead tired but cant force herself to move from the booth. Getting to know Jacob has been a delightful surprise and now she was surprised that she found herself liking one of his friends.
“I have to get going but it was so nice meeting you, Melissa. Jacob give her my number and I’ll send you the links to that band.” She smiles hugging Jacob before putting her jacket on and walking out. Jade eyes follow her slim frame all the way down the aisle of booths.
Melissa Schemmenti is screwed big time.
After a weekend of constantly thinking of the cute woman and giggling at her phone like a school girl, Melissa sits with Jacob in the teachers lounge staring at her phone screen.
“Just ask her to hang out,” Jacob shrugs with a smile. “She’s a really great person.”
“Kid,” she sighs leaning back in her chair. “Look, you’d make a great wingman but that’s just not in the cards for me okay?”
“How do you know that?” He asks in a way only Jacob can. “You don’t know how it’ll go if you don’t try, and If I were a betting man I’d say Barbara probably told you the same thing.”
He smiles just as Barbara walks in with the others.
For the rest of that morning Melissa thinks about what Jacob said and how he’s right although she’d never say it aloud. Her marriage ended badly and her last relationship ended in an embarrassing failed marriage proposal. She wasn’t sure if she wanted to try again. For the rest of the day her mind drifts off to the woman even during her lesson with the kids.
Up on the second floor after the kids have long gone Jacob holds the phone to his ear walking back and forth across the floor. “Quit being chicken and give it a try.” He huffs into the phone.
“Jacob! What if she says no? Does she even like women?” His friend asks on the other end.
Walking around his classroom Jacob can’t help roll his eyes.
“I know you two have been texting all weekend, if she wasn’t into you she wouldn’t be doing that. Trust me.”
“Fine, but if this backfires you’ll never hear the end of it.”
Later on in the evening Melissa sits on the edge of her bed looking at her phone screen. The phone number shines on the screen, like it’s taunting her. Taking a breath the redhead hits the number almost vibrating as it rings on speaker.
“Hi, gorgeous.” A bubbly voice comes from the other end.
“Hi,” Melissa laughs, “ya know I usually don’t do this but I dunno, I wanted to call ya.”
“I’m happy you did. Textings nice but I like actually talking. Plus it’ll get Jacob off my case.”
“He’s been on you too? I couldn’t get him to leave me alone. I guess that’s what I get for acting like a schoolgirl.” Melissa bites her lip hoping the admission isn’t too weird.
“If it makes you feel any better I was really giddy all weekend.” She chuckles.
Melissa smiles twirling one of her rings. “I guess it wouldn’t be so weird if I asked you out then?”
“I was hoping you would, especially since the first thing you said to me was a dreamy Italian compliment.”
“You heard that huh?” Melissa laughs practically face palming herself. “Your eyes are very pretty.”
“With a compliment like that I’d be very dumb to say no to a date.” She laughs on the other end.
“Finally!” Jacob bursts through the door tossing his hands up.
Melissa and the young woman on the other end both snap at their friend.
“Jacob!”

How do you view Erlang, SWK, NuWa and MK?
SO GLAD YOU ASKED ANON! I HAVE. N O T E S.
Firstly: I do not view Nüwa as someone who is motherly in the same way other people (seemingly) do. I do think, because she created humans and has spent time with them, she has a distinct personality. She’s approachable but she’s also got a cold and closed off personality.
Secondly: I think back on how she cursed a king because he lusted after a statue of her and claimed he wanted to marry her—pissed her off so badly he sent three fem-spirits to keep him from performing his kingly duties.
So she is not a good motherly figure—even if she sometimes acts a little goofy. She’s also the Jade Emperor’s daughter in Investiture of the Gods and thus I kept her as such (meaning she’s Erlang’s cousin).
(Below is my design of Nüwa; to me, the more powerful gods/celestials have no pupils and only appear when displaying heavy emotions)
I read of the myth where a piece of sky fell when she was patching it and that rock that formed was Sun Wukong; I loved that myth so much I kept it for my interpretation of LMK Sun Wukong. He wasn’t meant to be born, he just sort of happened, and she made no effort to keep an eye on him.
Much like Nüwa, Erlang is different during the FSYY Era, he’s devoted to Heaven and fights alongside them even killing one of the evil spirits Nüwa sent down in a fight.
But eventually, after witnessing Su Daji’s execution, he realizes he, just like many other soldiers, were merely pawns in Heaven’s game. He moves away, to the mountains, with his sworn brothers and no longer obeys by Heaven’s rules so easily. He only visits when summoned by the Jade Emperor himself,
Cue our favorite monkey being thrown into the mix.
Sun Wukong met Erlang Shen shortly after becoming Bimawen. But the two officially met when he was the guardian of the peaches—so before the whole banquet situation happened. Sun Wukong, being wildly unaware of Nüwa’s play into his creation, is essentially a good parallel to how Erlang was: he believes Heaven is looking out for him, respecting him as if he were one of their own, and happily listens to them when they beckon or call for him (blissfully unaware that Azure Lion has been lying to him and that Heaven is genuinely scared of how much power he possesses).
Eventually, after Sun Wukong gets triple shot traumatized by Heaven, realizing Azure Lion groomed him to be this usable pawn for his own fantasy game, and he got Journey’d by a random monk—he and Erlang had a heart-to-heart after defeating a demon (king?) together. They both realized how messed up their lives were after touching upon how cruel and unusual Heaven’s punishments are (how they both have high expectations from the mentors in their lives)
And bam! Sworn brotherhood formed! (Swk is the little brother Erlang never wanted <3 and the little sister he misses <3)
Eventually, after Wukong meets Xiaotian—he connects the dots so quickly as to why this magic monkey-kid can replicate all his abilities, magic, tricks, and even withstand training with him for months without breaking much of a sweat,
Because baby boy was also crafted by the human-creating Goddess of Marriage.
He is disturbed by this.
He did not want a little clone.
Ultimately: the four of them have CENTURIES worth of trauma and influence on each other (You cannot escape the “heaven is cool” -> “fuck heaven i’m making my own rules” -> “i have 500 years of trauma in my bones” pipeline)

A/N: Thank you @nattinatalia for the request! Hazel is a little older in this and Jade is five, she’s starting to become jealous of Hazel & Jacks relationship.
Anyone who knew you and your family had always known that Jack and Hazel were attached at the hip.
From the day she was born, she pretty much preferred to live in her dads' arms which made him going back to work extremely hard for you, but you managed.
Hazel was a spitting image of her dad, personalities almost identical with a dash of your fiery side sprinkled in. Everyone called her his “mini” and you thought it was adorable.
When you were pregnant with Jade, you had assumed this would also be the case but you soon found out you had a “mini” of your own. Jade was practically your shadow.
It wasn’t until Jade was about five years old that you started to realize a change, now that Hazel was getting older she required a lot more attention.
Hazel was a lot like Jack, meaning she was super competitive and Jack was helping her practice for her basketball game coming up this Saturday.
Jade was inside “helping” you clean up the house when you noticed her staring out the window.
“What’s up baby bug?”
“Daddy and Hazel are having a lot of fun” she sighed, shaking her head.
You were confused, wondering what she meant by that exactly. You walked over to the window and saw that Jack and Hazel were laughing and he was showing her how to dribble.
“Do you wanna go out there with them?” You questioned, knowing by now they had gotten enough practice in.
“No Daddy has his favorite and you have yours” she shrugged as she went to hand you the empty coffee cups from the table.
“Jadey?” You set the mugs down, bending down to get eye level with her. “What do you mean favorites?”
Her bottom lip began to tremble, she was very sensitive but you were too so you knew to be patient. “I think Hazel is Daddy's favorite and that must mean I’m yours?” She looked up at you with tears in her eyes.
Before you could console her Jack and Hazel came bursting through the door, scaring Jade off as she ran to go cry in her room.
“What’s going on with Jadey bug?” Jack asked as he leaned over to kiss you.
“Yeah, what’s her deal?” Hazel questioned, she was covered in sweat and both her and Jack reeked like BO.
“Go shower!” You teased, playfully shooing her off.
Jack could read the emotion all over your face, waiting until Hazel was out of earshot.
“Why is Jade upset?” He wiped the sweat off his brow with his forearm, his curls pushed back with a headband. You admired how attractive he looked, even knowing now was not the time.
Before you could explain Jade had run out into the living room. “You know? You’re my daddy too!” She yelled at Jack, shocking you both.
“Daddies and mommies aren’t supposed to have favorite kids!” She continued, she usually wasn’t so outspoken.
Jack looked over at you, his brows furrowed and his mouth agape. You could tell he was as caught off guard as you initially were.
“Jadey, we don’t have favorites. Me and your mommy love you and Hazel just the same” he bent down, and she immediately clung to him.
You started to tear up, wondering how you missed that she was feeling this way.
“Hazel is your best friend and I want to be too” she mumbled into his neck.
“You are my best friend! You, mommy and Hazel.” He rubbed her back, he faced you his eyes big and emotional.
“And Uncle Urban and Cope?” She reminded him.
“Yes, them too” he replied.
“Jadey, your daddy and I love you and Hazel so much. We love you both equally and we are both sorry for making you think otherwise” you spoke, wrapping an arm around Jack's torso and leaning against him to see her face.
“Promise?” Jade sniffled and you and Jack both nodded.
“Daddy, can I tell you something now that we are best friends again?” She pulled back wrinkling her nose.
“Of course” he smiled. “But you have always been my best friend and that’s never changed.”
“You’re kind of really stinky, I think you should shower now too” She pinched her nose and waved her hand in front of her face.
Jack laughed and so did you, “after I shower, let’s go get ice cream. Just me and you?”
“Deal” Jade giggled as Jack set her back down.
“You handled that well” you smiled, whispering before your husband walked away.
“Maybe that means you can handle me well too?” He wiggled a brow.
“Go shower! You smell!” You giggled before walking away.

Sorry for the wait, hopefully these are okayyyy! They are on the drabble side since platonic darling is still new ish to me (I really love it though!! And hope I can write more!)

* Ace Trappola
He’s such a kid when it comes to these things. He confessed his love with so much enthusiasm and confidence! Only to be rejected. He could at least breathe easy knowing no one else had a chance to steal your heart. Still, he couldn’t help but want you all to himself. He’s not smart enough to play mind games (sorry), but he is practical.
You were amazed at how quickly he went back to his usual self, laughing with and teasing you into oblivion. However, this was nothing but a farce. He begins extending the time you two hang out. No big deal, he’s fun to be with. The clock in his room breaks, and for some reason the alarm on your phone never goes off when you're with him.
After a while, it’s not enough. He asks you to help him study, as if that’s going to actually happen. You always end up chastising him, doing work for maybe an hour, then falling asleep while watching whatever movies you find that catch your eye. He makes a space for you to stay over, practically kidnaps you for any class you don’t share, and is somehow always right around the corner. Thanks Cater, for that wonderful tracking app!
* Trey Clover
Unlike his underclassman, Trey doesn’t get to confess before being rejected (albeit, unintentionally). He had been studying in the library with you and Riddle when the topic of attraction came up in relation to a potions assignment. After a bit of teasing towards your favorite red ant, you confessed a lack of interest in pursuing a romantic relationship. It wasn’t that you were opposed per se, but you definitely were not looking for at least the next few years.
In the moment, Trey nodded along and gave an understanding smile. Internally, he wanted to toss himself off a cliff. It wasn’t as if he felt a need to rush into a relationship himself, but he knew it had to be with you.
Taking your wishes into account, Trey changed how he treated you ever-so-slightly. His touches lingered a little more, and he somehow always had a new cake or cookie he wanted you to try. He wouldn’t stalk you, but he would create opportunities to be of service to you. Falling behind in class? He’s got your study guide. ‘Forgetting’ your lunch (that you swore you put in your bag) is not a problem, since he always has an extra for his study buddy. The attention and care he gives you rivals that of Riddle, not that you could complain. After a while, you would find yourself dependent on Trey, and seek him out when you needed anything. Your clothes are missing, you keep unintentionally breaking rules, and you somehow failed a test in your strongest subject. You couldn’t help but lean on him for support. And he wouldn’t have it any other way.
* Ruggie Bucchi
Similar to Trey, Ruggie has a very service-centric way of expressing his affection. He’ll offer you some of his treats and plunders stolen from Leona. He’ll always ask to pair up with you for assignments(which you enjoy, since he actually does his work!), and he gives you Azul-level study guides for upcoming quizzes and tests. He’s the secret weapon you never knew you needed!
He never neglects to tell you about how lucky you are, and that he wouldn’t work so hard for anyone else in the world. You always roll your eyes in mock annoyance before thanking him with a bright smile. He loves seeing you happy, and you love seeing his face turn cherry red. On days where his stress gets the better of him, petting his ears and offering to buy him breakfast always calms him right down. After a while, he’ll straighten up with a grin, promising that he’ll never forget your ‘service’ and that he will pay you back.
For him, attraction comes out of friendship. You two had a natural chemistry, so when you were together it felt like home. The reason he wanted so badly to submit to you, to shower you with gifts and to be at your beck and call; he loved you. When he realizes the reason you get such special treatment, he really only amps up the generosity. He wants to show you how reliable and useful he is. He’s not terribly possessive(liar), at least not nearly as much as some of the others. Still, he wants to be the only one whose ears you rub before a nap, and the only one you come to when you need help. That’s not so selfish, is it?
You know he has feelings for you, and he knows you aren’t seeking something romantic. You two dance on the line between platonic and something more, but why change what works?

I haven’t written angst in a long time because honestly, I’m a crybaby bitch that can’t handle it but I had to do one for my favorite pairing and challenge myself for once. Please don’t hate me too much!

we’re all aware of the dark side of the music industry..the pressures and struggles that come with fame. Behind our favorite celebrities; singers, rappers and actors alike are a world of struggle or pain that led them to create the art they put on display for us to see..at some point or another, there are battles they fight everyday that us as average fans aren’t aware of. Not that we’re owed any obligation to them outside of the public space, but we can’t help but worry. This all rings true for rapper and renowned artist Eren Jaeger, EJ The Don..whatever you choose to call him.
No matter how many loving, adoring fans screamed his name, friends he kept by his side, women he hooked up with and chains he purchased, it could never drown out the pain that plagued his heart. “You’ve traveled the world..seen it all and performed in front of millions. You’re one of the world’s most famous rappers and most respected producers in the game. At this point in your career, is there anything that you look back on and say ‘I regret this’ or ‘I wish that hadn’t happened’…are you happy?” the question shot to him by an interviewer sitting adjacent..a single camera lens focused in on his face in front a clear white background. In a very rare exclusive, the artist sat down with XXL to reflect on his early come up and what they could expect in the future. A loaded question he wasn’t quite ready to answer yet..still, those infamous green eyes; glossed over by the euphoria of marijuana and covered by designer shades, brown hair tucked behind his ear as he released a sigh. At this point in the game, he’d be considered a legend despite his rather young age of only twenty eight years old. An amazing feat considering that many of his peers hadn’t even made it to see that. What was even more so sad..most of the ones coming along today weren’t even twenty one before they were snuffed out. It was something he struggled and toiled with often…’are you happy?’ how could he possibly answer that truthfully when he had sat in the same room with his homies..one moment popping Xans as they recorded their next single and the next, shaking them as they seized up, overdosing on the pills before passing away?
How could he ever be happy when he had to go hug the mothers and hand out flowers to the wives of his friends who lost their lives to gun violence, simply because they decided to come back to their city after making it big? To tell their kids that daddy wasn’t coming home…something he often times feared for his own. He was a husband now and inevitably would become a father. Truth was, he had become jaded. Worn down and tired out by industry politics..it was exactly why his circle was small enough to count on one hand now. Why he was afraid to get close to anyone. Paranoid that he’d become the next victim of a setup, leaving his family, friends and fans to grieve and mourn..it was that paranoia that had him hurled over a toilet, throwing up after downing lean to drown out his hurt. To hear the constant voices that never quite went away, ringing in his head. Whether it was the delusions of his dead friends, comments made by some random who swore they knew his life; plagued by the memories of being coerced into sex before he was old enough to buy alcohol from women who had no business with him, but knew he wanted to make it big or his subconscious saying to end it all..that he’d no longer feel guilt, sadness, anger…all of the emotions that kept him up at night. The ones that refused to let him sleep and nearly made him do something stupid. Lying next to his beloved (y/n) as you dozed peacefully..the many of nights he contemplated leaving because he’d never want to bare you with the burden or trauma of finding his body because he followed in the footsteps of his fallen brothers. He loved you so much that he couldn’t ever dream of causing you that type of pain. You’d never understand what he felt and he didn’t want you to..he wanted you to remain blissfully ignorant to what went through his mind. But when he stood on the balcony leading out of your shared bedroom..glaring aimlessly to the ground below, he wanted to put a stop to it all. That was until he felt the gentle touch of your hand spreading across his bare chest..arm wrapping around his torso with your head pressed to his back. Entangled in your warm embrace and love, like a wilting rose trapped within its vines trying to save it. Hearing you whisper in the faintest voice.. “it’s okay, I’m here..you don’t have to do it alone.” It was then that he realized, you knew. You knew his pain, his sorrow and still, you remained..ready to carry those burdens with him. Turning around to sob into your shoulder and apologize as you both sank to your knees and you held him close. Having that safe space to fall apart and be pieced back together by the love of his life…it was then that he could finally..truthfully answer:
“Yeah..I’m happy.”

We don’t play the game, Anon, so the EN release doesn’t really concern us; we haven’t watched book 7 yet at all.
But when we do, I’m pretty sure I will draw at least some of the characters from it! Definitely more Meleanor and definitely Sebek’s grandpa because how fucking dares he be voiced by Koyasu of all people. I kind of wanted to draw him even before that point (just like Meleanor, I couldn’t resist, to be honest lol), but didn’t really have time for him…

I like to think that papa Leech would also be quite happy with Vil, even though admittedly this is based entirely on a headcanon. Since the boys found out in a vignette that one of his favorite movies has Eric Venue starring in it, I like the idea that papa Leech became a big fan of him. To the first Anon, I’m sorry for the late reply, I’ll share more thoughts in a moment. Starting with the Vil scenario!
I agree with you, second Anon! We talked about it in this reply, but very briefly.
Whether it’s Jade or Floyd who brings Vil to their house, Papa Leech is going to be super excited because he’d recognise the boy instantly. Somehow, their dinner with the Leech parents would end up looking more like a handshake event lol With Papa Leech asking a lot of questions about Eric and stuff. Even if Vil isn’t dating any of his sons, just the fact that he is their senpai would make Papa Leech super excited. Mama Leech would probably apologise for his behavior, but not in a genuine way, but just to make the situation even more awkward for Vil. Thank god Vil knows how to handle it… probably… maybe…
Vil would also make such a pretty betta merman…
But ALSO!!! If Floyd or Jade (or both) bring Idia to meet their parents, Idia would be absolutely terrified; he would be terrified either way, but the Leech parents are especially intimidating and scary. But they would love him a lot! Not only because he is the Shroud’s oldest boy (connections are important), but because of how his demeanor and his frankly exciting sparkly look. They would stare at him without blinking, showering him with attention. And they would tease him a lot, maybe even more that they would tease Riddle. Because Riddle is just an overly serious baby, but Idia? He is so visibly uncomfortable and scared; teasing him is absolutely priceless. Papa Leech would sit very close to him and look very intimidating, maybe touch his hair, ask him what he is so scared of. Ask about which one of their sons Idia likes the most (neither… please let him go…), a lot of other questions that sound like “there is no correct answer, you are screwed either way, but I am having fun, so you’ll at least survive maybe”. And then Mama Leech would tell Papa Leech not to freak out this poor boy, start stroking Idia’s hand, talk to him in a sweet motherly tone that doesn’t sound even remotely comforting. Somehow… these two are even worse than Jade and Floyd…

Mama Leech doesn’t cook, but it’s a secret, because she wants to keep the image of a perfect traditional wife.
Papa Leech used to operate on land too when he was younger. He still does sometimes, but very rarely.
Papa Leech thinks Azul is a great influence on his boys and wants them to learn everything they could from this friendship before getting rid of him (if he stops being such a great influence).
While the family bond is strong, the entire Leech family is aware that one of them might betray the rest at any given moment. That doesn’t mean that they don’t cherish family tradition and history.

one thing i'm curious about is if you're currently reading / drawing inspiration from any other contemporary HS fanworks. i know KITTYQUEST just dropped its epilogue like less than a week ago, so it's definitely a big era for Homestuck Fanworks That Have Jade Harley Have Kids lmaoooo
i may talk a big game about how you can't hope to substantively discuss what homestuck *is* without also examining its fanworks, but unfortunately i am myself woefully under-read and out of date. i kinda stopped reading homestuck fanworks after 2020 because. well. at the risk of getting into the weeds of fandom drama. all the ones i really liked stopped updating when the fandom environment turned from passively toxic to aggressively poisonous, and there was at least a 50/50 chance that the creator of any given active fanwork was either with or supported the group of people who wielded that poison.
that feeling is far less prominent now but i am still skeptical any time a new homestuck fanwork gets popular. they have to pass a litmus test first: is this person shitty or weird about the epilogues/hs2? they don't have to have liked either work necessarily, they just have to acknowledge that those works exist, have influence, and are worth talking about, even if they personally don't want to do the talking. god this all sounds so petty, but people lost jobs over what happened. i don't think i can have a positive interaction with anyone who is simply unwilling to have an in-depth conversation about the contents of a text without feeling the need to pass objective moral judgments at every turn, nor do i think i will get much out of the fanworks such a person might produce. so i save us all the trouble and don't bother!
that said, i quite like Kittyquest. i'm way behind on it though, as i am on everything. that Kitty showed up not too long after Yiffy actually inspired me to create Edie, because i love the idea of "Jade's Daughter" being this extraordinarily flexible archetype. it feels like kind of a combo-breaker considering how rigid homestuck's archetypes typically are. i also very much admire Kittyquest's commitment to fleshing out the culture and history of Earth C, especially in the ways it seems to deliberately break from what we've seen of it in post-canon. the lack of worldbuilding the epilogues is one of its biggest weaknesses in my opinion, so i always like it when a story tries to pick up that slack. the artstyle being so divorced from homestuck's yet still somehow indebted to it really encouraged me to try different things with the types of images we started putting into godfeels. what i love about post-canon broadly is just how varied it is artistically, stylistically. i think it's good and compelling and healthy that so much art in this space is willing to play with these things in such constructive ways.
the other contemporary fanwork that really has influence on godfeels is Vast Error. which i am also behind on. but Snowbound Blood is a personal favorite whose tone (at its best) matches the vibes i'm going for in 3.2. the biggest i guess Thing for me wrt Vast Error is how different its universe engine session is from what we saw in homestuck. its logic, its mechanics, its purpose-- the whole thing is so alien, and yet it has Prospit and Derse, it has Spades Slick and other such guys, it has Skaia, so there's clear continuity. if we imagine the universe engine as a procedurally generated video game, these commonalities suggest that there are stable constants in the formula. it was that alongside all the other wildly different fansessions on MSPFA that started the gears turning which would eventually lead to the EWL. the idea of an organization of castoffs from the infinite fanontinuum of alternate sessions, who study the constants and variables across countless UE instances and build squads of sailors who specialize in particular behavioral clusters. oh this session has an overpowered Jack making it unviable? send in the Jills, they'll show him what's what.
i guess if there's a thread here it's that i'm most inspired by what metatextual trends suggest about the hypothetical Ultimate Self of any given homestuck narrative convention. i'm not saying that's a good thing but i guess it has worked out okay so far.
i could shout out other fanworks that i haven't read but i think i would rather hear from y'all. what's out there right now? what's good? i should probably catch up

You know, some of these questions seem familiar. Maybe I answered this a while back? Maybe my answers will be different this time around.
Are you named after anyone? Yeah, I'm named after my great grandfather.
When was the last time you cried? Oooh jeez uh, I think there were probably a few moments here and there before the one I'm about to give where I teared up but I definitely cried at my best friend's brother's funeral just before Christmas.
Do you have kids? I don't but people ask me this often. Do I want kids? Not if it means having them with the life I'm currently living lmao.
What sports do you play/have you played? Willingly? Ah, I never really got in any particular sport. I've enjoyed casual running, and played squash with friends.
Do you use sarcasm? Not as much as I used to. It's started to feel mean, and also ineffective when sarcasm can't be read by certain people.
What is the first thing you notice about people? Face and friendliness?
What is your eye color? The colour of dry dirt.
Scary movies or happy endings? Are you trying to ask me if I prefer tragedy or comedy? The more optimistic one I suppose.
Any talents? I'm very good at flipping coins. Round and round it goes, how it lands? Nobody knows!
Where were you born? What are you? A security question? Anyway, I was born in the land of Mordor in the fires of Mount Doom, where the dark lord Sauron forged me in secret. And into me he poured his cruelty, his malice, and his will to dominate all life.
What are your hobbies? Analyzing stuff as the brain goblins take over. Activism, I guess. Fantasizing about the creative projects I could do if I had the time or resources (Damn I even stopped playing video games in the past year). Also repairing whatever I can repair around the house. I spent two afternoons hyperfixating on getting my dad's espresso machine to work. And it did!
Do you have any pets? Dad's got a dog I've been taking care of.
How tall are you? What are you, a cop? Or one of those height measuring things in Shoppers to record the heights of shoplifters? Somewhere between 5'6 and 5'10.
Favorite subject in school? Geography and environment. Lo' and behold I kept going with that lol.
Dream job? Hard to answer this one. If I were to think about it in terms of "What invigorates me", I'd come up short. Got perpetual burnout, so it's probably a symptom of other things that have to be addressed somehow.
Maybe in a system that doesn't push you to exhaustion as much as possible, I think I'd like to be a repairperson, partly cause of the aforementioned hyperfixations that occur when wanting to figure out how to fix stuff. Either that or barista, again, in an idyllic world that with few terrible customers and sufficient resources and staff.

Lilith's birthday interview 2
All of Ramshackle is decorated with steamers an confetti with round tables filled to brim with yummy entrees as well as desserts courtesy of Trey an the monstro lounge/Floyd annoyed Azul until he agreed.
Lilith is dressed up in her favorite pink dress she's so happy she could burst she has never celebrated her birthday so the fact that her friends went threw all this trouble couldn't make her more excited then she already was.
she had a table filled with presents from all her friends that she was told she could open later after the interview.

"birthdays always get interviews?" Lilith asked rather curios about if it was a normal thing
"at this school they are" Jade responded with a smile he did find Lilith enthusiasm quite adorable to behold.
a knock could be heard at the door before that person let themselves in "i shall be doing this birthday interview i hope that's alright Lilith!" as soon as Lilith saw Lilia she hopped up an ran over to give him a hug.
"of coerce it is heh!" Lilia handed her a small wrapped box
"come on now open it i think you'll like it little one"
Lilith looked over at Jade who nodded saying it was ok to open it up. so she did an it was a jump rope with little cartoon bunnies as the handles. "Cute!...but um what's it for?"
"oh dear Lilith has no one showed you how to jump rope yet? i surely thought Vargas would have by now here let me show you~" Lilia took the rope an showed her how it was done.
"so cool!" she was in awe it did look rather fun. Lilia handed it back "lets worry about the jump rope later i promise to show you some neat tricks but right now it's interview time!~"

"now Lilith time for the interviews" he sits her down on the couch "comfy?" Lilith nods in response "good didn't want you stand the hole time" Lilia said with a cheerful grin "now Lilith if you could have a student in NRC as a sibling who would you choose? oh an it can't be someone from your dorm"
"hmm" Lilith had to think about it for a minute "thats hard there are a lot of people at this school who I'm freinds with" she had to think long an hard "it's a tie!"
"a tie?"
"i can't choose one so I'm going to choose both"
technally she's not suppossed to do that but she is a kid so who would tell her no?
"who is the tie between?"
"Kalim and Hornton!"
Lilia smiled again he had to stifle his laughter he hasn't gotten over the fact that this child still refers to Malleus as Hornton of all things.
"can you explain why them an why it's a tie?"
"hmmm well they're both my good friends Hornton visits me all the time when i told him i was interested in stars he he baught me a picture book that had all these cool stories about stars an sometimes Hornton finds a cool gargoyle an he flies me to where it is to show me an-"
"he does what!?"
Lilith tilted her head "um flies me? he holds onto me the whole time so i don't fall"
"ah i see" he will be having a talk with him later
"i haven't been able to open it yet but Hornton got me something really big" she streches her arms out as far as she can
"that so" Malleus was in fact at the party because Lilith invited him of coerce.
"an why is he tied with Kalim?"
"oh hehe Kalim is always very sweet to me before an after all that stuff that went down at his dorm even though it wasn't his fault he would pay me a visit at least once an week he takes me for a fly on his carpet to go look at the stars an he plays games with me an Grim an-"
these boys honestly he can't even be to mad Lilith seems genuinely happy so he is going to drop it for now.

"they get to wear a bunch of pretty stuff an Vil always buys me dresses also the beds there are waaay comfier then the ones here are I'm jealous"

"well yes but it also means that i have to give you good luck by splashing you with some cake most of the boys throw it but for you i think this is enough" he takes hand fulls of the cream in each hand an smooshes it against her cheeks which made Lilith start to giggle an laugh as she did the same to Lilia.

Summary: Hazel is competitive just like her dad and when a game of Jenga goes wrong, she is NOT happy about it.

Summary: You and Jack get into an argument before bed which causes you to have a nightmare and you get emotional about losing him.

Summary: You and Jack partake in some fun time and we’re a little too noisy for Jade. She’s concerned that maybe her mom is hurt which is embarrassing to try and explain away.

Summary: Jade has never seen her dad interact with a baby before and it makes her slightly territorial.

Summary: Jacks a little nervous about premier night so you talk him through it.

2022 FANFIC REC LIST
Thought I’d do something like this a few times a year where I rec fics I’ve read. Not all of these I read this year, but for my first rec post, thought I’d just share some of my favorites. Also if any of these authors have tumblrs and I didn’t tag them let me know I’d love to tag them, or tag them yourselves!
RIORDANVERSE
Seeker - first of a series, oc fic, about a kid who can sense danger and crashes the great prophecy, series is up to book 3 as of adding it here (July) I am emotionally attached to this series it’s one of the best things I’ve ever read
Phyrrhic - oc fic, twin children of Persephone who acted as spies during the Titan War, in progress. I am so emotionally attached to Calista it’s an issue
Second Chances - oc fic, four demigods die in the Battle of Manhattan and come back to life, in progress. They’re deaths are all so sad but they come back to life and ahshdhdhhdhhdhdhh
HUNGER GAMES

The Rise of Rangi by @d7kyoshi - The Rise of Kyoshi through Rangi’s pov (has a sequel for The Shadow of Kyoshi). Absolutely amazing characterization of Rangi I love it so much
Sunstroke by @soupdots - Azula healing fic, 8/?. Azula is very in character and I love her so much
moonsoon season (book: air) by @maisazula - au where Azula is the Avatar. A lot of worldbuilding and really good writing.

Things that make me a real star wars fan:
the og battlefront games are some of my favorite games ever
I've read over 100 of the books
I've read most of the pre-disney star wars comics, including the strips from the 70s and 80s, and many of the post Disney comics
I played all the Lego star wars games as a kid and then paid to play them again with the Skywalker saga
the 2003 clone wars specials are some of my favorite animated media ever, and I've watched the clone wars series several times over
I rewatch the OT and PT about every 3 months and actually force people to celebrate may the 4th and may the 6 with me
I own star wars Lego sets. Yes the small ones, but even those are overpriced. Still own them though.
I've watched most of the Disney+ cashgrabs shows
when I went to comic con the only thing I bought was a han solo art print that I got signed by the artist (I then left early because I have autism and had an autistic meltdown. I haven't gone to a convention since but I want to try them again, so if you're autistic give me tips you use at conventions pls!!)
