so ya know how billy obviously can’t say the name shazam but we generally like captain marvel better so thats cool and all, but there’s also the headcanon and whatever where shazam is like his ‘true name’ of a sort?
and then ya also know how he can share his powers with people by having them hold on to the wooden staff and saying shazam?
what if he felt there was a situation where the jl temporarily needed his powers?
what if he’s too stubborn to say shazam since it’d out him (or he’s in a situation where it’d get him killed and therefore unable to grant them)?
what if this led to a parody of that one beetlejuice song?

There was a time where Billy did share his powers with some Justice League members in his little lego movie, LEGO DC SHAZAM: Magic and Monsters. I really liked it and found it very intriguing to think about more. I'd love to see more of this aspect of his power.

You may not believe this, but just the other day I was thinking of something very similar with the Beetlejuice song; only it included the wizard Shazam trying to convince Billy to say his name. Oh boy, if I could animate...
Aaa, I'd definitely be very interested to see more of what you're bringing up! The hesitation and fear of Billy not wanting to expose his secret identity and also not wanting to accidentally corrupt the league with the powers of the champion of magic, but desperately wanting to live to see another day. Some real trouble for Billy to face...

Hey y'all! If you've read my story Split you know I have a lot of thoughts about Marvel and the Champions and how they worked, so this is a little taste of what is bouncing around my head for them.
This is the third of seven stories I've written for Billy Batson week 2022! Today's prompt was THE BOY AND THE MAN + “HENSHIN HERO”

Summary:
In which Billy comes out to his teammates as transgender, attends his first Pride parade and ultimately decides it was worth the hassle
Hey y'all! Happy Pride month! Even though June is almost over, I wanted to write something for Pride. So this is a little cheesy, self indulgent one-shot of Billy getting some love and support from his teammates!
I'm also posting this for the following themes for the Pridewrite Challenge 2022: Parade (#pw8), Complicated (#pw25), Superheroes (#pw alt 28) Transmasc (#pw29)
I was going to do more stories for this challenge but June turned out to be a busy month and my fics always end up longer than I expect them to. But I'm happy to at least get something out for y'all!
This was partially inspired by all the wonderful trans Billy content I've been seeing on Tumblr recently, so thank you all for the lovely content!
I have so many queer Justice League headcannons if you want to hear them. And I'd love to hear your queer headcannons if you have them!

WAIT! there's a shazam lego movie!? what it about?
Yeah there is!
It's called Lego DC Shazam!: Magic and Monsters (2020). It was one of those direct to video releases so not a lot of people heard about it when it first came out.
It's about Shazam joining the Justice League and fighting the Monster Society of Evil! The whole League gets deaged and Shazam has to be the 'grown up'. It's really cute and wholesome with a lot of fun Easter eggs for DC fans that know the comics! And like all the DC Lego movies it pokes fun at the silly and weird things in comics. I definitely recommend it to Shazam fans!

Sure thing!
So that little preview was from an idea I've had for a while but put on the back burner while I finished a few other stories. It's a lot darker than most of my stuff. I'm calling it Pretty Little Thing.
The premise is that homeless kids are going missing around Fawcett, but no one is investigating. Billy realizes the police aren't going to help find his missing friends so he investigates on his own, and ends up putting himself in the crosshairs of the serial killer who has been abducting kids that no one is going to miss.
When the killer kidnaps him, Captain Marvel vanishes and the Justice League have to try to figure out what happened to their teammate while trying to keep the public (especially the people of Fawcett) from panicking over his disappearance. But because they don't know about Billy they hit major roadblocks in their search. They have to come to terms with the fact that they don't really know him at all. They don't know it but they are racing against the clock to save Billy from a killer that only a handful of homeless people in Fawcett even know exist.
I really wanted to explore the discrepancy between Captain Marvel and Billy, especially a homeless Billy who doesn't have anyone looking out for him. It would also deal heavily with Billy’s history of abuse and abandonment as well as his struggles as a homeless kid.
Like I said it'd be pretty heavy but it would be interesting to write. It's been ruminating in the back of my mind for months so I'm sure I'll write it at some point.

Billy had heard stories about the old house on Willow Creek Lane, mostly from kids at school. They said the place was haunted. That people had died there. That no one survived a night inside. Kids would dare each other to go inside, but everyone would chicken out before they did. All pretty standard stuff.
Investigating it was supposed to be simple, easy. But he quickly realized he might need some help from an expert.

I've wanted to write a Billy and Constantine team up ever since I started writing fanfic, so I was so excited for this one! The fandom knows these two would be iconic together even if DC hasn't gotten the memo yet.

Hello! I saw an ask you'd answered regarding Billy sharing powers, and how you'd seen him do it with the jl before, there was a wizard staff? I was just wondering if you could tell me about it, I'm writing a fic based on that concept and I can't find anything about it! I was so delighted to see your post, it came at just the right time! Anything would be appreciated, I'm still new to dc ^^
Hello hello! I love answering asks! :D
I believe it may be up to interpretation to the writer. From what I saw in the 2019 "SHAZAM" movie, Billy needed the wizard staff in order to share his power with his family members, and with their hands on the staff they needed to speak the name of Shazam as well. However, from the Lego DC SHAZAM: Magic and Monsters, Billy, (from what I remember), didn't need the staff to bestow his power onto them. I believe he only summoned his magical lightning and zapped them with it intensely.
Either way, Shazam (Captain Marvel) can still share his powers with people he trusts or deems as "family" to him. You could even write your own interpretation if you'd like, I know I'd be super interested in seeing what you have in mind 👀
Maybe all it takes is a zap of lightning, or maybe there needs to be a magical ceremony, or even a lightning/lichtenberg tattoo etched onto to skin somewhere (maybe the spine) as a source of temporary power. Anything is possible within the realms of writing!
