Well I'm not really bothered and I don't really see why they wouldn't be able to functionally but I have found an article proving your information (warning for spiders in the article)
Incredibly funny to me that fruit flies were a problem in one of these.

But :0!!! Snakes! Colour me surprised then! Well not too surprised because it makes sense it's just I've never seen one. Wing ears snake for the win!
Also "Emaciated semi-humanoid puppy dragon" is a goddamn classic probably one of my favourites too.
As for Barry being a digimon... Honestly he has somewhat little guy energy but he's 100% also OP as hell so maybe he's one of those small champion digimon like gatomon in the anime. With the bonus of perhaps digivolving into a fucked up humanoid. Angel/ghost theming perhaps?
Because wings on head ++ his canonical death for many years that served him better than how he's treated in modern comics today. It really just makes sense for him to have some ghostliness to him.

Barry is now a digimon/joking
...ok that could be a funny AU but NOT THE POINT- to be fair literally any shape you could probably find a digimon for other than like... maybe snakes. I don't recall seeing a snake digimon literally ever. They usually have arms.
However I remembered a canon creature design for Barry just now! The one from the "knight terrors" thing where he becomes like... some kind of a speed monster?
He's literally burned his gloves and boots off and put holes in his body from sheer speed- not to mention removed his neck!
It leans into those distorted proportions you were talking about somewhat, but you can also see lightning literally leaking out of the aforementioned holes so...

Nobody expects somebody else to know League of Justice, I saw you suggest Phaeton and was SO surprised.
I didn't go too crazy with the details tho because like. Well. 1. sometimes simple is the most effective. 2. He's just bathed in blood, not part dragon or anything. Heck, if I remember right his speed comes from his outfit!
