Flirts through their words

Heizou, Cyno, Kazuha, Kaeya

I see these guys flirting primarily through their words, yet in a couple different ways.

I feel like Heizou and Kaeya would flirt by being smooth when giving you compliments or verbally teasing you, usually imbued with a seductive undertone. Even when talking to you in general, specifically about you, listen to his words carefully and you'll find a hidden meaning in there, containing his admiration and desire for you. They know which specific words to use and how to use them, dragging out certain syllables, speaking in a lower tone, changing their intonation in a way he knows makes you blush, and all that other good stuff.

Just as he's notorious for jokes, I'd think Cyno would also be notorious for making cheesy pick-up lines when trying to flirt with you. They might be cringe, but the sentiment behind them will be endearing enough to make you smile.

As for Kazuha, he knows how to use his words to describe how he feels for you and how he views you in a profound way, using the many poetic techniques to make it personal and specific to you, and only you.

Bottom line, these guys have have a way with words lol

Flirts through physical contact

Ayato, Baizhu, Childe, Venti, Kaveh

They flirt through their touch and they will never be abrupt or imposing with them. Their touches would be gentle and seemingly innocent. Maybe they might place a gentle hand on your shoulder or maybe softly graze his hand against yours when reaching for something. If you've got a stray hair blocking your face, he'll pull it away and hide the strand behind your ear so that he can clearly look upon the face that he so adores. Or if you have a crumb on your lip, he'll softly place his thumb on the corner of your mouth and wipe across to not only get rid of the crumb, but most of all, take the opportunity to feel the softness of your lips.

You know, his touches are gentle and light for a reason. They're like that to make you crave their touch even more and to instill you with a desire for them to touch you with more fervor and passion. At the same time, I see guys like Venti and Childe also touching you more forwardly. And to be clear, I'm not talking about in an indecent manner. Rather, they would be the type to cling onto your arm, pull you closer by your waist, or easily take you by the hand, all in a playful manner.

Also, you know that typical romantic scenario where the main character is learning how to do something using their hands and the love interest helps them out by coming in from behind, putting their hands on theirs and guides them? Yeah, the main character is you and the love interest is them, hehe

Flirts through eye-contact

Albedo, Diluc, Tighnari

These guys wouldn't have to say a word nor lift a finger to make it known that they admired you.

They would flirt using eye-contact and would do so subtly, and at times, purely unintentional. The sudden haze of longing and desire clouding their gaze and their half-lidded eyes would tend to occur subconsciously when they're simply interacting with you or even just staring at you from afar. One might even equate this look to "bedroom eyes", and it might as well be with how intense it was. It would be an intense look that let you know that their mind and their focus was solely on you at the moment.

Like, he can be totally silent or be talking to you about the weather, but was he really thinking about the weather? Nah, not at all. With that look on his face, bro was clearly thinking of you.

They CAN'T flirt

Xiao, Scaramouche, Itto, Gorou

They get embarrassed with any attempt to show attraction. It's not that they're unsure of their feelings for you, they're just unsure of how to make them known without ending up being too direct and scaring you off. They'll be very unsure of themselves and won't know if they're doing it right.

They'd be too proud to ask for advice, so they'll try to flirt their own way, but I think they'd end up putting themselves in awkward sitautions and would eventually become so frustrated with their poor attempts that they just ask you out or confess to you directly lol

They don't flirt

Zhongli, Alhaitham, Dainsleif, Thoma

They'd rather be direct with their intentions. If they're interested in you, they'll let you know clearly. After all, they'd prefer to show their interest in a genuine manner, being straightforward in all of your conversations and really taking the time to get to know and understand you in order to make fruitful attempts to earn your trust and your love.

Bonus:

Flirts through their words + physical touch + eye contact

AYATO, Kaveh, Heizou, Kaeya

These dudes are the very definition of a smooth casanova. They'll use all of their assets to make their desire for you known and attempt to woo you.

They'll not only tease you by touch through fingers, but through the feathery touch of his lips on your skin as well. Maybe as he whispers into your ear, his lips will slightly graze it, or when he takes your hand to kiss atop of it, he'll try to make you swoon.

As for eye-contact, he'd gaze at you with a sultry look in his eyes intentionally rather than unintentionally, and tends to use it when he's up-close in front of you, where you're able to look deep into his eyes.

They'll also charm you with compliments and witty remarks, but what will truly captivate you are the promises that he makes. Anyone can easily make false promises in order to woo someone over, but what makes them different is that they truly follow through with what they say and promise to you. He may be a casanova, but he's also a gentleman!

Overall, I see them being more direct with their flirting, showing that they're unafraid of revealing their affections and desire for you. Really, they want everyone to know that they want you. Their confidence and natural rizz will ward off anyone else seeking to do the same.

when diluc closes up the tavern, you love to stay behind to lend a hand. you usually clean up tables, while he tends to cleaning glasses, stocking them back where they were, followed by the beverages. tonight, you finished your task rather quickly.

“tables are clean, even the ones upstairs. i remembered those ones without having to be reminded like any other time.”

“good job, darling.” diluc smiles at you warmly from behind the bar.

he’s never asked you to stay behind to help him out, and yet you do without having to be asked. that means so much to him, and he appreciates the time you take out of your night to help out.

even if he’s fully capable of doing it on his own, or had charles to help him out, he’d never deny your help. its the one thing he looks forward to after a long day dealing with patrons who can get a little wild after a drink or two.

“would you mind sweeping as well?”

the way diluc asks so softly, you found yourself grabbing the broom in an instant, a single thought of denial nowhere in your mind.

you went to sweep under the tables first where food crumbs lay. it made you get lost in thought, wondering how on earth people can make such a mess on the ground when there’s a table right there. you relocate to the bar, maneuvering the broom along the edge and between the stools.

things were going well until you had glasses in your hand to return to diluc. you were embarrassed to drop them all because of someone barging into the tavern, speaking out in a sing-song voice.

“oh dear — i just remembered i’m needed elsewhere for a performance!” in a flash of green, the anemo archon was gone out of sight.

diluc groans, “that bard loves to leave after causing some chaos.”

he looked over at you, noticing you on your knees, gathering up the broken glass shards. he calls out for you to stop before you hurt yourself.

“i’m sorry.”

leaning down beside you, diluc asks, “whatever for?”

“breaking these glasses.”

“don’t be foolish, you didn’t drop them on purpose. someone can’t help himself when it comes to making a dramatic and memorable entrance,” diluc sighs, “did you hurt yourself?”

you shake your head, “no.”

“good. come on, on your feet,” with hands on your elbows, diluc helps you up, rubbing your cheek with a finger, “glasses are easy to replace, you, however, impossible to replace.”

“well aren’t you the flirt tonight.”

“it appears you bring that out in me, hm?” diluc hums, kissing you tenderly.

for a few months after this incident, diluc had a no venti policy for the tavern per your suggestion, which started as a joke, but diluc couldn’t help but indulge.

no but just think about how much of an influence mondstadt has had on our journey thru genshin.

we started out there (probably for a reason that will be explained in future lore) and we met the god of freedom who also had a HUGE influence on our journey thus far.

and like, it makes me wonder what would’ve happened if we started out in any of the other nations. would the traveler have had the same mindset and/or morals they do now? would they have the same views on venti? or mondstadt?

i wonder what would’ve happened if the traveler didn’t go to mondstadt until much later. venti’s influence would be different, the traveler’s views on him would be different, as well as their whole mindset…

and most importantly, they’d probably be more aware of venti’s lies and deception. if mondstadt’s quest came out after sumeru, the traveler would’ve known first and foremost that venti is most likely the most powerful archon.

and they might’ve been wayyy more wary around him bc they wouldn’t have had his influence of “im the weakest so i have little to no power, therefore u shouldnt assume im dangerous”.

they might’ve believed that venti is a threat bc of his power instead.

there’s so many “what if”s. rlly makes u realize how much of an impact mondstadt has had on the game and its playerbase.

also the thought of the anemo archon being faceless and a whole mysterious entity with lore scattered EVERYWHERE until his release is extremely funny to me

like just imagine if venti’s character was entirely faceless and the only things we knew about him were him as an archon from lore crumbs scattered throughout the game and npcs in different regions. and then his eventual reveal that would bring a lot of hype

also i feel like his kit would be more cracked if he was released later in the game. but that’s just me

🍇 He's just a magnet for extroverts it seems. He definitely sees you as bothersome but he can't deny how much he loves your smile and happy demeanor. You're like the ray of sunshine parting the dense clouds on his rainy day.

🍇 Diluc definitely didn't expect the unyielding devotion you've shown to him. It makes him sort of uncomfortable in a way since he's not used to that kind of genuine care from someone else. But he learns to enjoy it after a while.

He's more of a small gestures kind of person and it takes quite a lot of courage for him to do something intimate, so most of the time he's too busy overthinking to notice your reaction.

🍵 You sort of remind him of Guizhong.... You're such a sweet person who's always willing to help people no matter what. You always seem to see the good in people too.

🍵 Zhongli isn't exactly shocked when you showed how devoted you are to him. He's used to it; he's a god after all. But soon enough, he realizes you've devoted yourself to him as a lover, and that makes him feel whole in a way.

🍵 When he witnesses your swordplay, he reminisces to you about the time of the Archon War and when the traveler came to liyue in search of their lost sibling. He offers to share some tactical knowledge hes accumulated from the many years of experience he has.

🍵 To say Zhongli was shocked of your protective nature would be an understatement. I mean even if he's retired, he's still an archon. But after a while he realizes that that's just another way of showing that you love him.

🍵 He finds your near inability to withstand his affections to be very entertaining. He'll often try to catch you off guard with a kiss or an intricately worded compliment and watch you absolutely lose your mind with flusteredness.

🍵 You're rare mature moments never cease to catch Zhongli off guard. He never expected such a fun loving person such as yourself to be so serious when he asks a favor of you, no matter how small.

🐍 While he himself is a catalyst user, Qiqi uses a sword. After seeing just how skilled you are with your weapon he brought up the option of you teaching the zombie child a thing or two.

🐍 It took Baizhu a little bit to notice your protective attitude towards him since he doesn't travel about too often. When he did notice, he was glad he didn't have to over exert himself if he needs to protect himself, because he knows you've already got it covered.

🐍 He never noticed how flustered you get because he's in the same boat. He's not used to such intense affection and intimacy; he's usually the one caring for people and occasionally receiving thanks but that's all.

🐍 Baizhu is relieved at how reliable and mature you can be; he's glad he can trust you. He's even taken to sending you with Qiqi when he sends her out to pick up some herbs or has her man the pharmacy when he's out.

💼 Kaveh loves how protective of him you are, it makes him feel so safe! He returns the favor of course. Sometimes, he jokes about sicking you on his roommate when he's being mean.

💼 He enjoys how flustered you become when he gives you affection; it makes him want to tease you. Your shy nature is just too cute and he has to exploit it as much as possible.

💼 He likes how responsible and trustworthy you are, even if you remind him of his roommate sometimes with how serious you can be, but he wouldn't trade it for the world. You just mean too much to Kaveh for him to do such a thing.

been brainrotting Venti recently and all of his lore so just gonna put it somewhere that’s not my head

Some basics on Venti: he is the Anemo Archon of Mondstadt, with connections to wine and song, but with the official dominion of Wind, and his ideal is Freedom. He currently disguises himself as a carefree bard. His character story and Neuvi’s voice lines also declare him to be a god of hope.

when we first meet him he teleports away in a flash of Anemo (he can teleport!!) and we learn when we enter mond that the god Barbatos (an original member of the Seven) has been MIA for a long time. He’s not the one running the place, the Ordo Favonius are, but he does have a church and Mondstadters habitually give each other blessings from the wind. He himself has a habit of sleeping for long periods of time.

okay, cool. Venti himself helps us save Dvalin, casually revealing he’s the Anemo Archon just to get hold of the Holy Lyre. He breaks it when we’re on the quest, but returns it to Barbara magically fixed (and implies that she’ll find it broken again soon). His Gnosis is stolen (guys he can Teleport!!!) from him, but he returns to Windrise to recover.

He also gives us the basics on Teyvat’s elemental powers, and tells us a god’s power is based in how much control they exert over their nation (this is later contradicted by Nahida + Focalors,,,, so chances are that he was lying!)

then we also have Carmen Dei, the only archon story quest to not have a part 2. In “Should You Be Trapped In A Windless Land” (and we’ll explore what wind means in Teyvat), Venti uses his godly powers to help Stanley, a boastful adventurer who has taken on the face and identity of his friend in order to carry on his memory. The friend died in Mare Jivari, the ‘windless land’ likely referenced by the quest title.

Venti then sings the story of how he, “a single thread of the thousand winds” (Venti character story), became an archon. He reveals he too has taken on the face of his friend who died among the revolt against Decarabian in Old Mond that ended with Venti being seated as the god.

(Guys he has associations with death!! It doesn’t stop here, Weinlesefest and Mond legends about your spirit being guided back home by the wind, even the connections in events to Hu Tao like !!!)

He hasn’t appeared much in main story, honestly. But there are so many crumbs that lead back to Barbatos and his homeland of Mond that one HAS to wonder: what is going on with him?

His drip marketing? oh he’s the “prodigal son”. son of who???

(“she was the moment. she was every moment… every second of joy, every moment of rage, every instant of longing, every flash of delirium”)

furthermore we’ve got more from his demo: “full of mystery, born from the branches of time / a history of glory and sorrow, and witness to the divine”.

so he’s the “prodigal son”, “born from the branches of time”, who is “full of mystery”, has “a history of glory and sorrow”, and serves as a “witness to the divine”.

what do his character stories have to say? a LOT. they call him “a single thread of the thousand winds”, “without a shred of divine dignity” (pre archon war). And they claim he became a god once the rebellion succeeded (it kinda makes sense, he was the spirit most associated with them after all, and as we know - gods of Teyvat draw power from their believers)

The 5th story remarks that Venti both should and should not be given credit for Mond’s prosperity, since it’s the doing of the Four Winds (which he established lol) but also he’s the one ensuring that the tales of their deeds are passed on.

ok let’s break this down. he’s the prodigal son? the question of his parentage seems to have found it’s definitive answer. Mondstadtian sayings commonly associate the wind with the passage of time, and there are temples to time and a god of time in Mond, which have now come to ruins. They were worshipped alongside Venti for a long time, but their significance diminished and eroded.

Now, in Enka we discovered records of Istaroth, who was also known by the Enkanomiyans as their Goddess of Time, and is the premier candidate (by lore enthusiast consensus) for the god that would’ve been worshipped alongside Venti.

She is also (I’m convinced) Venti’s mom. Remember, he was said to be “born of the branches of time” and “a single thread of the thousand winds”. What was Istaroth’s epithet? She’s the Thousand Winds. We are literally told he was a part of her.

We also have evidence to support Venti having time-based powers. Remember the Weinlesefest memories brought by the wind? He also “knows all songs, past and future”. And furthermore, he might have just rewound the Holy Lyre instead of actually fixing it permanently.

The real question up for debate is whether or not Venti is part of her or a completely unique entity. Both are possible, honestly. I mean, they coexisted. It’s just that the phrasing “a branch” bothers me because it was the exact same phrase used to reference what Nahida is to Rukkha but that much could just be coincidence.

I think we’ve established by now that he’s seen a history full of glory and sorrow, and that he’s full of mystery. So what’s left?

He “knows all songs, past and future” and he is a “witness of the divine”. And his character story supports that, highlighting the importance of his role as a witness to the history of Mond and the feats of the Four Winds. In light of the Sumeru and Fontaine AQs, where we learned that info can be erased from Irminsul and can only be preserved either through the memory of a Witness from outside the world or the creation of an allegorical tale that seems just fictional enough to bypass the Irminsul censors. Also, the importance of what we see being the truth.

(Oh yeah: forgot to mention that he also tends to play this role in history, where he doesn’t interfere much himself but he picks a hero to address a task and then supports them however they need to get the job done. This traces back all the way to his time with Decarabian; he didn’t fight in the war itself, but he watched the Nameless Bard and his countrymen do it, and recorded it in song. Same for Vennessa and the Revolution against the aristocracy).

Carmen Dei the story quest does not have a part two. I fear for the day it does, frankly, because we will learn a LOT about this silly little man.

the twins, mona and scaramouche, have a two-minute gap in terms of their birth. i personally think scaramouche was one to cry more than his sister. and boy, did they give ei a hard time with raising them.

"oh, it's the little ones' first birthday already? time flies by so fast." zhongli, a close companion of ei's commented as he gently pinched scaramouche's cheek. scaramouche whined and mona chomped on his other cheek.

in the meanwhile, venti was taken aback, "well, would you look at that. you've raised an animal-" he was cut off when ei slapped him in the back of the head.

venti jokingly exclaimed, "now that's no way to treat someone you went to college with!" zhongli only sighed. scaramouche began to wail, hugging his stuffed giraffe and mona grunted in disapproval, placing a hand on scaramouche's mouth. scaramouche paused before crying even louder.

ei picked him up from the crib, "zhongli, would you please take mona for me? i don't trust that neon green troglodyte with my children." in the background, venti loudly gasped.

as you would imagine, scaramouche and mona grew up around their godfather, zhongli, for a majority of the time since ei was occupied with her business label. and they gave zhongli a rough time too...

two-year-old scaramouche found himself in a problematic situation. "oopsies." he nonchalantly said, looking into the empty marshmallow bag that was supposed to be his sister's, but of course, scaramouche had gotten hungry by now.

he frowned and the tears began to well up in his eyes. "scara? what are you doing back here?" zhongli queried, peering behind the couch where scaramouche was sitting. without hesitation, he bursted into tears, crying so loud, zhongli swore the neighbors would scold him.

mona, hearing this, ran into the living room and jumped onto the couch where scaramouche was hiding so she could take a peek. she curiously glanced at her brother, whom zhongli picked up in his arms.

"baby brother cry?" she asked, her chubby little fingers touching her lips. scaramouche sniveled, burying his face into zhongli's shirt; he just couldn't bare to look at mona after eating what was supposed to be hers. zhongli nodded, "that's right, mona. why don't you cheer him up?"

mona looked at him and then scaramouche. "no. want more 'mallows."

and at the age of four, the twins were blessed with their wonderful baby sister, amy. ever since her birth, the two have been fighting to be her favourite sibling.

"i want to see her!"

"no, me first!"

the two argued in the nursery room and ei tutted, putting her hands on their shoulders. "shh... you're going to wake her." she softly said. "look, the both of you may see her." ei smiled, picking up scaramouche and mona.

they held onto their mother's shirt with balled up fists, peering into the crib. "waah, she has yellow hair!" mona exclaimed. scaramouche pouted, "that's blonde, dummy." he stuck out his tongue and mona grumbled.

ei tsked, "c'mon, you two. this is a chance to get along for once." mona gasped, "she's moving!" wide eyes filled with awe, they watched amy fuss about.

"hehehe, mama, look! she likes the fishies!" mona pointed out, giggling. amy was hugging one of the stuffed fishes in the crib out of the many plushes, sleeping peacefully. ei chuckled as scaramouche giggled as well, "her name should be fischl, like fish."

mona perked up, "the baby or the stuffed toy?"

scaramouche shrugged, "i don't like math."

there was definitely a time fischl got brutally bullied in elementary school for believing her life is like a fantasy from a storybook. once thirteen-year-olds scaramouche and mona found out about it, they weren't happy at all.

"say that again, i dare you." scaramouche threatened with a clenched jaw, eyes blown with anger. "wow, and so now you're silent? come back at our sister when you've grown a pair of balls, would you?" mona said, arms crossed. the boy stammered, "i-i-"

scaramouche held up his fist, "do you want this up your ass?" the boy panted and appeared puzzled, "h-huh?" mona elbowed scaramouche, "the hell did you just say?"

scaramouche blinked a few moments before gasping, "i-i mean, your fac- DO YOU WANT THIS IN YOUR FACE?" he quickly got back into character despite the little mess-up.

"heyyy, fischl!" mona greeted her when she entered the house. scaramouche tossed a marshmallow into his mouth, "how was school?" fischl instantly backed away.

"brother, sister... may i question you as to why you are acting odd?" she squinted, warily looking around like a killer clown would appear out of nowhere.

mona waved her hands around, "no reason, no reason at all!" scaramouche nodded, "i like these marshmallows." mona elbowed him again. fischl paused before grinning, "i had an excellent day, i thank you for asking! i made two allies as well; razor and bennett. though, i feel razor may be having a 'furry' phase..."

at least the boy never bothered fischl again, and along with it, came new friends.

extras!!

-scaramouche and mona have taken a strange liking to marshmallows since they were kids when venti fed it to them even though he wasn't supposed to.

-scaramouche has walked in one too many times on mona gossiping to fischl about the cute boys in her class.

-the three have shared one bedroom since they were born and it stays that way.

-when fischl got a pet bird named oz for her eighth birthday, scaramouche has been ranting to it for three years straight before realizing it's not a parrot.

-mona drags scaramouche to go shopping with her.

-mona is big on fashion and voluntarily buys clothes for her siblings to make them look presentable.

-fischl's preferable fashion is alt and/or dark academia.

-at one point, fischl begged scaramouche and mona to match halloween costumes with her. and that they did, for they went trick-or-treating as fischl portraying alice, mona portraying the queen of hearts and scaramouche portraying the mad hatter.

The amount of time this concept occupies my thoughts is probably slightly unhealthy, but it's frankly addicting

It hits like every single box for me

Corruption kink? Yep. Obsession with clingy needy characters? Absolutely. Worship kink? Duh. Desire to be wanted/needed in literally any way? Obviously.

And do you have any idea how many quotes I have written out for this concept alone that I have accumulated over the past two years whenever inspiration strikes, a lot of them are a bit vague and exaggerated in order to leave wiggle room for when I have to alter them to fit a certain character's persona, but it's a lot

I would release that list in full, but realistically, if I continue writing for this, I'm going to be using a lot of them, so it would kind of get rid of some of the mystery and that's not very fun

I will, however, give you an excerpt that didn't make it into that one work I did on it, when I was still planning on making it more nsfw

"Venti, what are you doing?" You asked, a gentle tone filled with only soft confusion as he looked up with those eyes you so adored, the same ones that shone with both desperate unfiltered want and quiet amusement.

"Touching you, of course." He said it as if it was the most natural thing in the world, on par with breathing.

"I want to make sure I give you the happiness that you deserve, I want you to feel exactly how I do right now, and I want to be the only one making you feel that way."

His expression then noticeably darkened, taking on a more anxious look, the previous confidence being stripped back slightly.

"Just... don't stop touching me, ok?"

You weren't able to get out another word before he grabbed your hand from where it was previously resting, bringing it to his lips and placing a gentle kiss to the back, continuing to look up at you without breaking eye contact for a second.

There you go, a small crumb of what could have been 😔

But yes, I agree with you 100℅, also this is absolutely an open invitation for any writer to just take this concept and run, go and create, it would be an honor to be a source of inspiration

“My little Cecelia, wake up~ I got everything for our picnic ready!” Venti shook you gently. You must have fallen asleep on the couch after you got back home from helping the traveler with gathering herbs. You rubbed your eye sleepily while getting up to greet your anemo archon lover. You peered up at him with your big (E/C) eyes and smiled. He looked just so adorable with his green overalls with a huge big bow around the neck. He had the hat he ordinarily wears on top of a flower crown you made him earlier that week. You had an outfit that matched Venti’s on too, as Venti insisted you should match with him to show everyone that you were his. How could you say no to that sweet face? “Awe, you looked just so cute. C’mon my love, I picked the perfect spot for us to have our picnic. The wind blows wonderfully there.” he stated as he put his hand out for you to grab, and you tenderly did getting up and clinging to him close, excitement being seen precisely on your face to spend time with your beloved.

You both walk to the spot Venti picked, as he carries a picnic basket in one hand and holds your small, fragile hand in the other. You end up near Starsnatch Cliff. Under a tree, Venti lays down the picnic blanket and basket. The spot easily was perfect as the wind blew your hair, refreshing you. Venti sat down on the blanket as he grabs two sandwiches perfectly cut just the way you like out and placed it on a plate on your side of the blanket. You smiled and sat down happily across from your loving boyfriend. “Awe Venti!!! This looks so nice. You didn’t have to do all this!” you blurted, while joy twinkles in your eyes. You grab the well-made sandwich and take a bite, savoring each tasty crumb. “It’s really the least I can do for my precious windblume.” he said, smiling and tilting his head to the side before he crawled over to you and pat your head while you munched on the sandwich. You looked at him innocently, a few bread crumbs on the side of your cheek as Venti chuckled lightly to himself before taking his finger and brushing it off to the side, before putting his face closer to yours as your cheeks went hot red. Venti’s lips placed onto yours, kissing you with passion and care while you melted into him gently.

When you ultimately pulled away to catch your breath, both of your faces were as red as Diluc’s hair. “I love you…” you mumbled, pushing your body lazily onto his, snuggling your head into Venti’s chest, hiding your blushed over face. Venti pat your hair gently, snickering to himself on how simple touch from his made you bright red. You both were in pure bliss at this moment. Nothing could ruin the butterflies fluttering in your stomach ..Well until something started bouncing on by. A pyro slime leading a small trail of fire on the grass hops near where the picnic was set up. In Teyvat, slimes were more of an annoyance than a tremendous threat or something to fear unless there were many around at once. This was just one little pyro slime minding its own business. Though, being you, once you saw it, you jumped up to hide behind your boyfriend, clinging onto him for dear life as you squealed. Soon enough, you used your vision to shield both you and Venti out of fright. The pyro slime seemed alerted by this now. Venti taking a second to put two and two together, hugged you tighter to him, trying to cheer you up. “My pretty Cecelia, no need to be so scared. I’m here to protect you, okay?” he smiled, brushing a strand of hair behind your ear. You looked up in fear and also in embarrassment. You didn’t want venti; the anemo archon to think you’re weak, even though in reality he would never think such a thing. As your anemo shield faded away, venti took out his crossbow as you hid behind him still, peeking over his shoulder to see what he was about to do. Venti aimed at the flaming slime and shot his arrow as it created a wind spiral on the ground; soon making the pyro slime pop and disappear.

You looked amazed at your boyfriend’s abilities. You knew since he was a god, a puny pyro slime wouldn’t be much of a challenge at all for him; but no matter what he does, it amazes you more each time. You couldn’t ask for a better protector. The bard looked at you, making sure that the fear in your eyes was gone. Venti smiled, holding your hand and kissing your forehead gently, making you all flustered once again. “As I said, I’ll always be here to protect you.” he whispered sweetly in your ear as you latched back onto him in embarrassment, hiding your face. Venti giggled, holding you closer to him, only focusing his gaze on you at this point. “My pretty little flower…” he mumbled in your ear as you fall asleep on him from his calming words.

Summary -> After a long day, all the cats want to do is cuddle up in your arms and receive your attention. It seems like you're too tired to give them what they want.

Itto

For a cat, he's quite large and tall in size. You could see smaller cats laying on his back as he ran around in his usual, hyper state. (They got irritated by how much he was moving and couldn't sleep in peace)

There always seems to be another cat next to him to stop him from doing anything... crazy.

He's the cat that gets so confused once the Cafe opens up. People are flooding inside and you seem to be so occupied with whatever you're doing.

Hey, but that food looks pretty good, could he have some?

Aligning with his bright, cheery personality, he's joined the entertainer squad. I can tell you that kids adore him. Kids love decorating his fur with stuff and he always keeps on this reindeer headband.

The antlers of the headband are his supposed horns.

The moment the Cafe begins to empty out, Itto comes running to your feet. Similar to a puppy, he sits upright, staring at you. But even after he sits there so obediently, you yawn and walk past him.

Do you think that'll stop him? No! He's the mighty Arataki Itto! Whatever negative energy you're giving to him will disappear once he cheers you up.

"Hey! Hey! Hey!" At least that's what he's trying to say, but all you can hear is a bunch of meows. "So... you look like you could use a pal since so many people suddenly asked for the food that you made - which was probably supposed to be mine."

Another round of mewling with you just sitting there listening to him as if you could understand him.

"Y'know, I kinda... got you a gift!" Itto drags out a pretty stone he found outside. (He was supposed to be doing his job as an entertainer to the customers... but we can ignore the fact that he ran outside when a customer opened the door to leave.)

(Shinobu had to help him back inside the Cafe since he didn't know how to open the door to get back inside)

You pick up the stone and raise it, inspecting it. "Looks cool to me, thanks." You smile, patting his head. Itto cuddles up into your lap and you softly squish his face in your hands, "What a cheeky little cat, well I can't really call you little."

Shenhe

Quite a feisty one, with a lot of curiosity mixed into it. However, it's not the logical type of curiosity like Albedo. She's more... dangerous.

Once, you caught her putting a flower into her mouth just to see what it tastes like. You could kind of understand the time when Albedo took a sip of your coffee because you actually drank it, but a flower out of nowhere...

Usually, you couldn't let her be with the customers much due to her mannerisms. Though, due to her rare appearances and distant personality, many of your regulars would jest about it and say that she brings them luck.

Shenhe likes her position as an observer, she has her place laying on a hanging light to watch out for any "evildoers". Sometimes Xiao joins her, and sometimes he's forced to entertain.

"Your grace," Shenhe calls out for you in form of mewls, "you look... tired. Would you like something to eat?"

Yet, despite her offer, you just yawned and walked past her to your own quarters. Perhaps you didn't hear her? Or... were you ignoring her?!

Oh dear.

Shenhe immediately reaches her hands into the cookie jar - that was supposed to be for customers, she clamps the cookie in her hand before accidentally dropping it on the counter.

Biting the cookie, she runs to your side and places the treat onto your empty palm. Worried about the possibilities of your reaction, Shenhe steps back a bit when you tried to pat her fur.

"Awh, thanks. But I need to check if you still have any crumbs in your mouth. If you swallowed any of the chocolate chip cookies I made, I'm bringing you to the vet."

Shenhe had no idea where or what the vet even was, but she trusts that you wouldn't bring her to a place that would cause her harm.

Venti

Jeez, this energetic, carefree furball of a cat. He can jump pretty high and there always seems to be a nice breeze of wind when you go out with him.

He's, of course, one of the dear entertainers. Venti's the perfect idealization of that lovable, fun cat that kids would adore.

Thanks to this, there's always a rivalry between him and Itto about who the kids like better. Though, I think Itto is the only one taking this competition between Venti and him seriously.

There was this one occasion where one of your regulars brought their guitar in since they were going to practice right after their visit to your Cafe.

Venti's been mesmerized by the guitar and has been the calmest and still the moment your regular pull out their guitar. He's even played a few notes - of course with some help.

Because of how cheery Venti seemed to be, you bought him a ukelele. Albeit, it's smaller, he's a small cat as well though.

Once you flip the sign hanging from your glass door and heave a sigh of relief, Venti almost instantly rushes up to you, jumping into your arms.

You melt into your couch and let Venti down, ready for a good nap. But I don't think Venti will let you.

Long before you could fall asleep, you feel Venti tugging your food left and right with his paws. He's staring right at you, a desperate look in his eyes.

"Pffft, okay." You laugh at his antics, "Come here."

That disheartened shine in his eyes grew brighter into something more hopeful and merry. Venti curls up on your stomach when you lay down, hugging your hand the moment you tried to touch his fur.

As the minutes slowly pass, you both feel your dreary eyes shutting as you begin to drift off into a deep sleep. Let's hope the other cats will let Venti have his moment.

faves: (this is gonna be a long one lmao)

Heizou- (obviously) the way he flirts is so hot. he’s really such a big tease

Kaeya- that man is PACKING. like is it really necessary to wear pants that tight? (not that i’m complaining tho👀)

Albedo- the ultimate rizzler. the true husbando collector. not even lyney can reach the level of rizz he has

Aether- i go feral over him and his slutty little waist UGH love him. i even mained him up until i pulled wanderer in 3.8 (i think i was also AR48 at the time so aether has spent the most time on my team)

Dottore- look i know this man is a fucking monster but as the saying goes “if evil, why hot?”. i would let him experiment on me fr

Xiao- emo babie. i love him so much, he makes me feel so many things all at once

Scaramouche/Wanderer- look, i have a huge degradation kink so i think this is self explanatory LMFAO if he stepped on me, i would thank him. pretty sure he will be my main all the way to the end of the game tbh

Pierro: he’s hot i guess but like idk how to explain what i’m trying to say without sounding fucking insane lmfao i guess he just reminds me of an evil santa claus HAHAHA

Childe: realistically he and i would probably get along the best out of any of the guys listed (beside kaveh). we’re very similar in personality but he’s only part of the least fav category because he’s kinda cringey lmao i mean that in an endearing way but also in the way that i want to strangle him (although he would probably be into that lol) also his stupid little jacket makes me mad, why does it look like that. I appreciate the tummy window but i think he would’ve looked way better in some kind of button down with a chest window 🤷🏻‍♀️

“Phew… Paimon’s stuffed!” - The small pixie said after inhaling way too much food for one being under 20 minutes, getting a silent and concerned look from the traveler who watched her do it all; turning his head to glance over at the love-bird filled streets of Mondstadt, weather it was a couple planning a date or someone wondering about their crush, it was typical to see such things during Windblume. He leaned forward and rested his arms on the wooden table at Good Hunter, letting out an almost disappointed sigh while holding his head up with his gloved hand — He wasn’t sure why he felt so.. lonely, maybe? The same thing happened last year, even when he was surrounded by so many friends he still managed to remind himself he didn’t have that special someone like everyone else did, and once he was in his head, it was hard to get back out -

“Enjoying the scenery, are we?” - His head perked up at the familiar cheerful voice appear behind them, his golden brown eyes shining and wide as he’d practically immediately stand back up and shake his previous feelings aside to look presentable for the happy-go-lucky bard who showed up that Paimon already begun to scold about trying to get on their tab for most likely the 100th time, though it was obvious he was up to something per usual - “Anywho, you should be getting ready to thank me, I come bearing good news! Behold''

- Aether looked to Paimon with suspicion, then back to the other who held a map-like paper in his hand, lord knows what could be on it, asking a simple “What is it..?” Before taking it and looking carefully - “It’s what you need most right now, the answer to the prophetic puzzle~” - And there it was— it wasn’t much of a surprise that Venti may have decided to play just a teeny tiny bit of favorites and give him a cheat sheet, even if he told them not to use it right away with nothing but a innocent smile and a wink or two, the facts said otherwise - “Paimon feels like your up to something… If you know so much about the prophecy then why don’t you just help us find it!”

“I could help you find it, but if I already know where it is then where’s the fun in that? This map is just er—a nudge in the right direction per say” - He shrugged to seem even less conspicuous - “Hehe, oh! Also, if you have some time we could organize another fast-track love poem class?”

“You're starting that up again?” - Paimon asked with her hands against her hips - “I sure am! Nobody else has signed up this year though… So the duty to learn falls on you” - The archon tilted his head slightly and flashed a smile to the surprised traveler, who took a few moments to process his thoughts on the matter before nodding happily in agreement to the offer - “Hey I think that’d be really fun! I shouldn’t be busy if we meet up early tomorrow? Maybe around 7-ish?”

“Sounds good! Why don’t we meet by the plaza where the last classes took place? I’ll leave you two be, see ya in the morning!” - Venti lifted his hand to give a small gestured wave before taking his leave, his visible excitement was contagious to anyone around him -

“What..? Don’t look at me like that—“ - Aether looked at the angry floating pixie glaring at him with confusion, knowing she was upset about not being invited to join in on this ‘Love Poem class’ with him, zooming over to smack the blond on the top of his head - “Don’t you think it’s kinda weird that NOBODY joined the poem class this year but went crazy for it last time? Paimon think’s that tone-deaf bard is just being sneaky and didn’t tell anyone else about it so he could be alone with you” - She crossed her arms and pouted like a kid, stating a interesting point -

“Pfft no way, why’d he wanna be purposely alone with me? It’s… it’s just a nice thing he’s doing, obviously! I shouldn’t be!” - Aether paced back and forth with his hands held close to his chest; he’d been there since 5 AM due to a lack of much needed sleep, and counting every single minute up to 7 on the dot, he practiced several ways on how to say “Hi! Good morning!”, Which he thought sounded too enthusiastic. “Hello, good morning”, sounded too formal or dry, and just “Good morning!” Wasn’t good enough either — though he wouldn’t give up so easily - “What am I gonna do without Paimon knocking sense into me… are we supposed to shake hands? Hug? A pat on the back like a business trade was just made??”

“Personally I’d enjoy stealing a hug from you myself, though because this is an official and partially formal class between simply aquatints, if you prefer to see it that way, then a hand shake will do just fine sir” - The traveler almost had a heart attack while practically choking on air at the appearance of the bard and his chipper giggle, his smile warm and inviting, god, getting a hug from him must feel euphoric—after all good friends hug all the time, right? - “Ah uh—no no I didn’t mean for this to be a formal thing! I just wasn’t sure what you’d be comfortable with, if that makes sense… we don’t have to shake hands or—or hug, honestly just forget about the pat on the back thing. I uh…, good morning”

“Hehe, I think it’s rather sweet you’re so considerate about my feelings, even if whatever greeting you choose it won’t faze me much, or at least won’t give me some kind of bad impression. though if you’d like we can start over! Ehm, morning traveler! Are you ready to start today’s special class?” - He couldn’t help but smile back at Venti’s efforts to try and make the atmosphere less awkward or tense when it should be fun and casual, it ultimately ended up working in the end as expected - “Yeah! I’m ready,”

“Er… okay— before we start is it alright if I possibly gave you a quick hug for y’know—old times sake I guess? I mean it is Windblume and it’s all about expressing how you feel towards the ones you care about, uh.. yeah, obviously you know that already because you’re you… I realize that now. Also we’ve known each other for like a really long time, and I hug other people I know but somehow have never gotten to you before which just makes me look like a total idiot—please tell me to stop talking so I stop sounding stupid” - Aether took a long extended sigh and smacked his forehead with his palm, he only started rambling frantically when he got anxious, and it was painfully obvious to everyone else around him.. though lucky for him he was with carefree people to walk this earth -

“You could never sound ‘stupid’ to me, so take that back! Nor do you have to ask for something as easy as a hug, It’d be an honor to be one of the few to receive such a kind gesture! So…If you’d like, my arms are quite empty currently” - The archon shrugged, his dark brown shoes lightly clicking against the concrete as he stepped forward curiously, his head ever so slightly tilted as he held two tan blank pages to be written on in one hand. A calm and gentle breeze lifting his sky blue braids; the air smelled almost sweet, comforting and joyous, perhaps it was mirroring it’s archon’s exhilaration? hesitantly, Aether pushed himself forward with all the bravery he had left in him, his chest tightening up with a pit in his stomach when they were only inches away—he went in to instigate the hug efficiently, though came to a halt half way realizing he was torn between putting his arms around the other’s waist or shoulders, his hands moving up and down several times in sheer confusion and embarrassment, causing the bard to try and move his own arms to attempt helping in concern -

- After what seemed like endless up and down gestures, the blank pages were then knocked out of his hand’s grip; falling to the ground with a swoop - “Ah—! Sorry my bad, I’ll get that!” - The traveler spat out in a frenzy, too big of one to hear the others refusal to the offer, both quickly bending down to pick the pieces up out of consideration, accidentally bumping shoulders when doing so and causing more unwanted stress and attention from worried by-passers - “Are you alright? I should be the one apologizing, I didn’t think I’d be so clumsy today… “ - Venti let a quiet giggle slip out as he scratched the back of his neck, the shade of his braids changing to a practically glow type blue, even brighter then the light of his shiny vision -

“Yeah I’m okay, and don’t worry about it really! It’s uh—it’s…“ - Aether was at a complete and utter loss for all words, (as if he wasn’t enough already) freezing as he was still bent down, eyes wide and with sparkles even. He was dead focused on the image right in front of him with pure admiration, Venti was distracted trying to hold in his now laughter to the situation, using the back of his hand to cover his mouth with apologies mixed in if it ever came off as rude, his smile was so incredibly sunny, how could you not love a smile like the one he had?

Not to mention, his bright green hat seemed to have fallen off when they crashed into each other— showing his slightly messy and dark navy hair, it looked so fluffy and soft, and most likely was. He’d give up all his mora and Paimon’s food stash just to get the chance to braid it, even though he knew he could because they were already great friends, it’s not like he actually had the courage to ask:

‘Heyy… can I braid your hair?’ he wish he did. He’d imagined what it was like before, just the two of them sitting in each others company on a warm and sunny day like this, how he’d carefully brush and braid it, how Venti might lean back into him almost like a pillow, just as the traveler once did with his sister when she’d braid his longer hair -

- Did that make him weird or perverted for thinking up small scenarios like that? He often thought it was due to getting stuck in his head too much, even when they were nothing harmful in the slightest bit. Don’t even get him started on thinking about HAND HOLDING, the audacity his mind had tsk tsk… -

“So, you’ve already been acquainted with the basics of poetry, now it’s simply time to write what you’re heart desires! Tell me traveler, is there someone in you’re life who means an awful lot to you? It can mean anyone or anything, there’s no right or wrong answer” - Aether thought long and hard about the god’s question, bouncing his pencil up and down the page sitting on his lap, clearing his throat before speaking his answer - “I do, they do mean a lot to me, I’m just not sure how to word everything..”

“Is it you’re sister? Just a lucky guess I’m throwing”

“Ah no.. she still means the whole world to me of course! But there’s another special place in my heart just for this person..”

“So it is a someone then? You’ve piqued my interest… Who’s the special person? If you don’t mind me asking” - Venti crossed his arms as he asked, it was rare they ever got to talk one-to-one on a personal level like this—so it’s natural he jumped at the chance out of pure curiosity. Watching as the other boy’s face spiked with a surge of red, trying to swiftly compose himself to even get a reply out -

“Well.. you know them, him actually… and I know this’ll sound really corny but—I’ve had a hard time not thinking about him all the time, especially when I’m away in another nation.. I plan out exactly what I know I’m going to say to him but then—! My mind goes totally blank and I can’t think…We’ve known each other for awhile and It was easy to talk to him before I started feeling all.. this. At this point I think everyone I know know’s that “Oh, Aether has a massive crush he can’t get over!”, I don’t know how but they do— He’s so insanely sweet and such a great friend to me I’m scared if I tell him how I really feel I’ll lose him too.. And I just can’t take that right now, heck I haven’t seen any signs at all that he could even like me back so..”

“Did it ever cross you’re mind that he may be just as skittish as you are to the topic?”

“What—no, he’s good at being honest and doesn’t seem like the type to be super nervous about sharing feelings.. but I never thought of it” - The blond shrugged -

“Some are far better at masking how thy truly feel deep down in fear of the same you struggle with, loss and rejection. It’s a common worry in any person”

“Yeah… you’re right— I just.. don’t want him to hate me or something like that, y’know?”

“What in Teyvat would make you think I’d ever hate you?” - Venti shook his head in disbelief, hurt by the fact he’d go as far as the word ‘hate’, but the other part was still managing to wesel some much needed answers out of him -

“I know I know you’d never hate me I just don’t have the guts to—“ - Aether’s eyes shook with absolute shock as his hand darted to cover his mouth, slowly realizing he was just half tricked into confirming who exactly his massive crush was on, struggling to find the right words (excuse) that could save him from humiliation - “How did you—?”

“Hehe, lucky guess~” - The bard gave a wink in return, his own face covered with a light pink tint till he spoke again - “Do you really believe I’m that oblivious? It wasn’t too hard to tell you’d caught feelings… I’m quite flattered and—“

“—You’re sorry because you’re not interested..? I totally understand if so!” - The traveler barged in the conversation, ready for any kind of answer possible even after hearing comforting words beforehand — his hands jittery while messy around with his gloves as a distraction, opening his mouth only for it to be shut by the other’s hand gentle - “Shh, I’m flattered, and It’s adorable how hard you try, I admire that..” - Venti’s smile grew so much bigger, leaning in closer, retracting his hand away to brush a few strands of long hair out of his face, tracing his fingers across the side of his face with a light hum, deciding to inch near him even more without much thought -

⁃ Naturally Aether was taken aback by his sudden movements, hesitant at first when he thought a move was being made when really he was getting a little too ahead of himself per usual, surprised when he felt a pair of embracing arms wrap around his shoulders; it felt so familiar and cozy even, sending him to a place he’d hadn’t felt for 2 whole years, taking a breath of relief before falling into the warmth of the hug tightly. Closing his eyes as he felt the bard in his arms nuzzle into his neck like a cat adoring it’s owner’s attention -

“I could never, ever, hate you. I don’t even like that word, you’re impossible to ‘hate’, you bring yourself down so much and I notice when you do it… Though I don’t understand why you do it in the first place? You’re a beautiful person, Aether, I wish you understood that” - Venti mumbled against the other’s clothes, his voice disappointed and uncertain, hearing a sigh from the shy blond -

“I don’t do it that often… but thank you, Venti— you have no idea how nice this is to hear… honestly I don’t know why I think people will want nothing to do with me if I share my feelings, I should’ve known you a bit better then that… sorry”

“What’s the apology for? There’s no need, nor no need to know every little detail about how you feel, like I said before it’s a common fear amongst many people, which doesn’t make you any less special either. All I’m curious about now is how long you’ve had this crush on little old me? Hm?~” - The archon had a smug look planted all over his face, softly placing a single kiss on his neck just for reactions sake, peeking over to see his completely silent and tomato colored face just a few seconds after -

“I—wh—well I—you know! How am I supposed to keep track of that??” - Oh, flirty Venti… If he wasn’t already sitting on the ground now he’d be on his knees for sure, still dying of an equal mix of embarrassment, enjoyment, happiness, and overall gay-ness - “You can’t just— trick the answer out of me then do… that! totally unfair…” - He pouted like an upset puppy, though it was obvious how bad he was at hiding his want for just a little more -

“Aw I’m just messin’ with you! It’s hard when it’s so tempting to tease people rather easily, especially you” - Venti sat up a bit to look at him face to face, even if he was still a flustered mess—booping his nose with one finger and a followed up ‘Ehehe’, which still managed to catch the other off guard - “‘Hehe’ cutely one more time and Paimon gets to give you another nickname”

“A—Another one..?”

“Mhmm.”

first cause... the first ever lantern rite was when i started playing though technically xiao wasn't my first 5 star (base banner pog moment) he was the first limited 5 star i've got and he's been my main ever since and lantern rite has always been so special to me idk i have so many memories as a new player and i had so much fun with xiao i really loved him

second... THEY DID HIM SO GOOD i was literally tearing up because it hurt to see him be hurt. he's so stubborn but he deserves the help people give him i hope he realizes that >:( but the people in liyue are just so kind to him T^T the way they're conveying that he's battling with himself when in fact it's time he learns to reach out and accept that he too can get tired. but ALSO he's easing into finally resting and being vulnerable <3 (but still he needs to accept it a little more)

third... the way he says he doesn't dream but in the trailer he's been dreaming though they were nightmares ): i wish there was an archon of dreams that gave him pleasant dreams he deserves it ):

fourth... THE INTERACTIONS especially with venti at the end i was literally sobbing because i was waiting for this moment for so long!! and someone said the direct translation was venti calling xiao a friend and the way xiao never declined his offer >: and the interaction with the little girl it was so sweet ): (baizhu crumbs and qiqi saying she carried him on her back omg)

the trailer felt like such a gift he's so beautiful. i'm so happy with how they did the trailer. 2d to 3d and a mix it's so beautiful but fr i cried n i'll treasure this trailer with all my heart T^T

Hello! I just want to thank you and your amazing anons for these posts about the relationship between Alhaitham and Kaveh. We barely have any crumbs about Alhaitham's personality and even less about Kaveh's, but it's really interesting to see you guys brainstorming and imagining how they would act with each other. All the more so as it is - or at least seems to be - platonic interactions. Nothing against the ship, but seeing people genuinely interested in non-romantic interactions between two (male) characters is a real breather, especially in the Genshin Fandom where ship content are pretty much everywhere.

Also, big kuddo for the anon who came up with the dialogues of Alhaitham and Kaveh bickering with each other. I literally howled of laughter at Alhaitham calling Kaveh a boomer 😭😭 (Also, the posts with Klee are so wholesome, I relish in them)

Well, don't praise me too much cause I am here with the intention of shipping every pretty person with Diluc. Sooooo ya know.

But Honestly, I do like variety in relationships, and Al Haitham and Kaveh have already hit my good friend's bone. It's like Diluc and Venti. I don't mind the ship. I can see how it would work and happen. But them being friends just works so much better in my head. But that's me.

Also, ya, that Anon had so many brain cells I'm amazed.

The scara skin possibilities are really funny. Because he already has so many previous canon designs. (Well. Like 3 before his current one. Kabukimono, Kuronushi and Harbinger Scara) So if he’s given another, then that will be his fifth official design! I think if it’s a new one, it would either be an Akademia uniform, or something to do with being a follower of Buer, but that’s a lot less likely.

We also already have a few ‘retro’ skins of stuff they wore in the past, like with Lisa’s Akademia skin, and with Diluc’s red dead redemption or whatever it was called lmao. So there is a possibility of his skin being a previous skin of his (return of the beloved veil???). Either way, if this news is true, I’m excited for either possibility~

im super excited to see what his skin is!!!! SO excited!!! skins emulating the five kasen from the event for ayaka venti xingqiu scara & kazuha would actually be a dream come true, but i dont think theyll ever do them… considering how long ago the event was and how ayaka and xingqiu already have skins :-( whatever scaras skin is im gonna eat it up im so hungry for a single crumb of content about him that i will take ANYTHING

Hello again. Thank you so much for indulging me. Warning: the following answer is long.

Tbh I'm very fond of a majority of characters from Mondstadt (except Diona, who is my least favourite in the whole game). I thought the prologue was done pretty well, tho story wise it does seem to go a bit downhill from there.

I love Venti, Childe, Zhongli and Diluc (when I saw his outfit with the high ponytail my brain went brrr). I like Childe's backstory in particular but I find it so disheartening that half the fandom seems to seriously loath him. I find Diluc interesting as a character (I'm also hoping to get him, but till now no luck. Hopefully i won't have to wait two years :(() I also find Shenhe pretty cool.

For 4 stars I really like Xingqiu, Beidou, Thoma, and Layla. I like both their personalities and their playstyles. I also like Gorou, but just how he looks, since I actually haven't gotten to him yet.

As for ships I like Zhongven. This one came from the left field, but I honestly think it's my favourite. I like the dynamic (the canon crumbs, as well as what I think it would look like) between the two of them, as well as the fact that both of them are broke gods. Ngl I also enjoy that in lore, they are some of the oldest and most powerful characters. I like the idea that they could destroy the world if they banded together, but choose not to bc they enjoy drinking, and the finer thing in life too much. I also like Zhongchi, Chongqiu, Kaeluc (I need more canonical interactions between the two of them) and Cynonahri. And I know what you mean abt the interactions between Venti and Diluc. I like them either as platonic or as romantic, though I haven't found any good fanfic of the two of them.

I do also like Chilumi, but i've also avoided the fanfics.

(From the unreleased characters, just from how they look I like Pantalone and Arlecchino.)

Also what's your opinion on weapon banners? Should I pull? Did you pull? Till now I've gotten pretty well with 4 stars and even a few 3 stars, but I'm wondering if having a 5 star limited weapon is better.

Nice! It's good to like characters. Zhongven is definitely one of the more colorful interactions in the game, so I can definitely see the appeal. I'm just not super fond of Zhongli on the whole, so I'm not exactly looking for more ships with him. I just like zhongchi for the fanfic melodrama lol.

For the weapon banner, I would honestly recommend against it. I've pulled on it, but purely because "my faves should have the bestest drip," so Childe got Polar Star, Noelle got Redhorn, Venti got Elegy (would prefer Skyward Harp, but I doubt we'll get a rate up of it for a long time, perhaps never again). Xiao got Scarlet Sands in the process, but we don't talk about that.

In general, there is very little benefit to doing so. Yes, the BIS 5 star weapons can increase the characters' damage, but there are many cases where a specific 4 star or even 3 star can come quite close, without needing to risk gacha. And you'll slowly accumulate most of the 4 stars just from the other banners. 5 stars are also super annoying to level, since they need more resources.

My weapon recommendations would actually be like this:

Make sure to get every event weapon you can, including refines. Even the ones that look like they're useless to you right now. You can skip levelling them if you're very short on resources, but that 1.5x bonus on EXP is very useful if you can manage it. I skipped Dodoco Tales back in the day, and I regret it now.

Favonius weapons are extremely useful, so I would suggest keeping at least two separate copies. Depending on your characters, you might benefit from even three copies. Refine them only after you separate out those 2-3.

Sac weapons are similar, though refining them decreases the time interval between triggering the effect, so in some cases it may be worth to prioritize refining a single copy enough to be shorter than the character's skill cooldown. Eg, Xingqiu generally wants R3 Sac Sword (iirc, didn't check the numbers) because that's when the cooldown on the sword passive becomes shorter than his skill cooldown, so you can trigger it every rotation.

Keep at least one R5 copy of every 3 star weapon, just in case. You'll probably want multiple copies of Thrilling Tales, at that. The standout 3 stars are generally Thrilling Tales, Black Tassel, sometimes White Tassel, sometimes Slingshot, sometimes Raven's Bow, Harbinger of Dawn (sword). Their passives are so strong that, on characters who do not care too much about the lower base attack, they can match or exceed certain 4 stars or even 5 stars.

Yes, there are 4 stars you can ONLY get from the weapon banners: the Lithic series (mid at best), the Watasumi series (ok but situational), and now the... Tulaytullah series (the Sumeru ones, can be good but nothing terribly outstanding). However, you don't really need them. None of them are just that amazing.

The thing about the weapon banner is that there will always be five 4 stars on rate up. You thought the odds for 4 star character finishing were bad? It's worse for 4 star weapons.

Additionally, there are always two 5 stars on rate up, and the way Fate points work, you're only guaranteed the one you want after losing TWICE. The pity is at 80, but that is still approx 65x3=195 rolls, more than a guaranteed 5 star character.

Is a weapon that will give you maaaaybe 5-10% increased DPS worth giving up multiple 5 star characters?

It's up to you, but generally not.

If you do decide to pull, there are these criteria I would check:

Do you have some use for BOTH rate up 5 star weapons? Because I got Memory of Dust while going for Polar Star and lol. It's been gathering dust since then.

How much does your future 5 star weapon haver actually benefit from the weapon? The most infamous case is Kokomi, whose signature catalyst is not always even her best option and is barely an upgrade in only one of her multiple roles. Some characters have better lower rarity options than others, and if they don't benefit as much, it's better to pass on the 5 star.

What are the 4 stars? Fishing for them won't end well, but if you're going for a 5 star, you're going to be getting a lot of... probably two of them, given how luck seems to work. If two of them are Bell and Eye of Perception, that's... not very appealing.

As a final reminder, the epitomized path points do NOT carry over between weapon banners. If you are planning to pull, it's better to be ready to go all 200 pulls in.
