I've always found it hard to find the right words for comments, but I used to try and put down something on all the fics I liked but after seeing what some of my writer friends, who are fairy popular in their fandoms, say privately in the groupchat about some of the comments they get, I can't bring myself to leave any comments at all any more.

I know it's a form or unloading where they can salt without hurting anyone and I generally think that's a good thing, saltmates are needed so you can talk about all the crappy annoying things in fandom in a private space and not spread shit on tumblr or ao3 etc.

But It's so so disheartening to me as a comment shy reader because it's never good enough. If it's just emoji hearts or someone saying "second kudos" it's too short and worthless. If it's epicly long well-written, funny, sweet, and clever love bombing, then it's too much and annoying.

I just don't understand, I don't write myself, I draw, badly, and I never get the kind of praise they sometimes get, but I would LOVE to have some of those things said about my work.

I love my friends a lot and I'm a firm believer in saltmates, but it makes me a little crazy and very paranoid to see the difference between what they say in private and what they actually answer to the comments in public on their fics.

I've read a lot here on tumblr about how fic writers love ALL comments etc etc and a lot of tips and tricks for people who have problems leaving comments, but I dont trust that now and I never comment anymore because I do not want a writer of a fic I love to think such things about me, even if it's just in their minds in private.

Do I have extra salty friends or is this a common thing among writers that no one wants to admits out loud?

From my experience, as a writer in fandom on and off for 20-ish years and as the mod of a comment-positive fandom ask blog, your friends are extra salty.

Have I heard people get frustrated with "I liked this!" comments? Sure. But for every one of those, I hear at least 10 people who are giddy and bouncing and just over the moon that someone liked their fic. I've never heard anyone complain about "epicly long well-written, funny, sweet, and clever love bombing." Most fic writers I know would probably pass out from happiness if they received one of those.

I don't know your friends, of course, but it sounds like someone in the group got a little toxic at some point and the rest of them went along, for whatever reason. Maybe burnout was a factor. Maybe they had a specific thing they wanted to get from their comments section that they weren't able to receive. Whatever the cause, the effect on you is bad.

I know you didn't ask for what to do about this, but I'm going to lay it out for you anyway:

stay in the group chat and feel worse and worse about every comment you've ever left on a fic

say something to your friends and ask that they have those conversations when you're not around (your choice if you include the part about it being because they make you feel bad)

leave the group chat and maybe also lose those friends

None of those options are great, but your current situation already sucks so it might be time to try something new.

I'm so so sorry that they made you feel like your comments weren't enough, anon. You don't deserve that. No one does. I hope if those authors see this ask that they pause and reflect and realize the audience they were speaking in front of.

I agree that people need a place to be salty, and I appreciate them doing it in a private space - but it wasn't private enough. ❤️

and when he does go on tour and can't cuddle with you, he makes sure to call you every night no matter how exhausted he is because it helps him sleep better after hearing your voice

be it he's just playing random acoustics on his guitar or he's actually working on something new, he will have you listen to it

You looked down to see that Ivy had gotten away from you once again and simply sighed. This had been happening since this morning with her wanting to be around Jack, but he was in the studio busy downstairs.

Every time she wandered off, you found her at the door to the studio trying to reach the handle and simply brought her back upstairs, but not before letting her say hi to her dad.

This time as you made your way downstairs you once again found her in front of the door trying to reach up to grab the handle when you picked her up from behind and made her laugh.

"My big girl has got to stop running away from me!"

"But I wanna say hi to daddy."

"Okay bug and then we're going to eat something."

"Chicken nuggies?"

"Sure if that's what you want." You said while putting her down.

"Go ahead and knock and wait for daddy to say it's okay to come in."

She knocked three times while shouting "Daddy!? Can I come in?"

Jack laughed to himself as he heard his oldest outside of the door for the fiftieth time today and got up to open the door to see her looking up at him with those big blue eyes that resembled his as she had her arms out for him to pick her up. As you mouthed 'I'm sorry' to him but he simply waved it off.

"Hi daddy! I miss you."

"Hi gorgeous girl. I missed you too. And of course I missed my beautiful wife also." Jack said as he picked her up and she simply started playing with his KY necklace as he leaned over to kiss the top of her head before leaning down to kiss your cheek.

"You eat chicken nuggies with me?" Ivy asked with hope apparent in her voice.

"I don't know yet sweetheart. Daddy has a lot of work to do."

"But daddy take a break?"

Just then you heard two more sets of little footsteps as Autumn and Axel ran full speed into Jack grabbing one leg each.

"As you can tell you've been missed all day." You said.

"Well then I guess I could take a small break." He answered as Ivy clapped her hands in excitement.

"Then let's eat dinner. Ax, Autumn let go of daddy so he can walk." Axel reluctantly pulled away and you had to pry Autumn off of him in order for him to be able to move.

All of you made your way upstairs and Axel volunteered to help you set the table.

You handed him napkins not wanting for him to start running around with sharp objects because that child could turn a spoon into a weapon.

The Triplets got chicken nuggets per their request while you and Jack had chicken and dumplings which your mother had helped you make earlier in the day.

Once everyone was finished and the table was clear, Jack got up from the table and Ivy went to follow him.

"Daddy? I come with you?"

"Ivy, daddy has a lot of work to do." You answered but once Jack saw the pout on her face, he didn't want for her to be upset.

"Bug, if you do you have to be really quiet for me. Do you think you can do that?"

"Yes!"

"Wait, I wanna go too!" Axel exclaimed while chewing on the cookie that you gave him.

"Ax, don't talk with your mouth full." Jack answered while looking over at him.

"Me three!"

"Okay since all of you want to go, I need all three of you to be really quiet and draw daddy a few pictures. How does that sound?"

All three eagerly nodded their heads as they ran off into the direction of where you kept all of the art supplies and was jumping up to reach them and failing miserably.

"Wait for mommy to get it for you so you don't get hurt."

You took down a few pieces of paper for each of them along with crayons as all five of you went downstairs to the studio with Ivy leading the way. Jack had to open the door for her but once she did, she ran inside and found a comfy spot in the corner as her siblings joined her. You handed them the pieces of paper and crayons so that they could draw their pictures as you went to go sit on the couch next to them, but you quickly heard Jack’s protest.

"Can I have my wife over here with me, please?" Jack asked with a pout on his face and you quickly got up in order to sit next to him, but he gestured for you to sit on his lap instead.

"Are you going to be able to focus with me sitting on your lap?" You asked as you sat down with him immediately putting his hands around your waist and kissing you.

"I always can whether you're riding me or not and I want you to ride me so this will give me more motivation to hurry up and finish so we can get to it."

All you did was roll your eyes in response while laughing.

"And besides I want your opinion on a few things and they look to be occupied." He answered while peering over at the triplets.

"Okay let's hear it."

"And be honest with me. If it's trash then tell me."

"As you wish. But, I'm sure that it’s not."

"But if you hurt my feelings, I expect head before I go to sleep."

"Jackman, just play me the song please. And you never have to ask since I was going to do that anyway. I knew you wouldn't behave with me sitting on your lap."

"I am behaving!"

A little while later, Ivy got up and made her way over to the both of you to say that she was bored and needed something else to do.

"Daddy, can you play with me now?"

"Not right now. Did you draw me a picture?"

"I drew you four." She answered while holding up her fingers.

"It's almost time for you to go to sleep anyway." You told her and she immediately crossed her arms.

"But I'm not sleepy!"

"Wait, I have an idea. Ax, Autumn come here." Jack said and they stopped coloring to come over to him.

"Do you three want to make a song for daddy?"

"YES!" All three of them exclaimed and you couldn’t help but to smile.

"Okay listen closely." Jack started to say to explain to them how this would work as best he could so they could understand and once he was done they were excited.

"Mommy is going to go in the booth with the three of you to do it, okay?"

"Can my part be about chicken nuggies?" Ivy asked and Jack simply shrugged.

"Whatever you want, princess. Are you three ready?"

They eagerly nodded as you took Ivy in the booth first and placed the headphones on her and sat her on the stool so that she could reach the microphone.

Jack started to play the track and you tapped Ivy's shoulder to tell her to start.

"I like eating chicken nuggies and playing with Ax and Autumn. I love my mommy and daddy. Okay, I'm done." Ivy said while taking off the headphones and hopping down from the stool and you and Jack couldn't help but to laugh.

"Ax, you ready?"

He immediately ran over to where you were and sat down on the stool as you put the headphones on and it looked as if he was thinking.

"You ready for daddy to play the song?"

"Yes, I have an idea now."

Once Jack heard that Axel was ready, he pressed play on the track and you soon heard Axel's voice.

"Daddy is mad because I'm mommy's favorite boy. The end."

It took everything in you not to bust out laughing while Jack simply rolled his eyes as Axel smiled at him.

"I love you daddy!" Ax exclaimed as he came out the booth and went to sit in his lap.

"I'm starting to think that you don't, but okay. I'll let it slide this time."

"Okay, Autumn. It's your turn."

"My mommy and daddy can rap better than anybody and I'm next."

"Hmm, valid points were made, Autumn. Good job." Jack said as he high five her when she came out of the booth.

"Daddy, is the song good enough for us to get a Grammy?" She asked while looking up at him.

"Let me work my magic and it just might."

First time requesting so sorry if this doesn’t make sense, if you’re willing could you write about Yanqing comforting a reader who’s been feeling down because their feeling burnt out? So so sorry if this doesn’t make any sense but thanks anyway for possibly considering it!

YANQING noticed how much more you tended to zone out within the day. Sure, you'd stop paying attention 5 minutes into his ramble about swords - but at the very least you'd make it to the discussion of how they're made. Nowadays, you're forgetting hes talking to you before he could even start.

Not only that, but you seemed to work and work but seemingly not out of the passion you had before, but almost as if you were doing it in hopes to find a purpose. He couldn't explain it properly, but it was like you were no longer working cause it made you happy, more over because was expected and wanted of you.

Sure, it was your job to serve, but you were allowed to ask for breaks and such if it was needed and you DEFINITELY needed one.

So he had approached Jing Yuan and asked for permission to pull you out of work for a few hours. "Oh, Yanqing.. You kind soul, you're more than free to be able to help them." He does his usual precious smile, bows to his superior and hurries off to find you.

He asked around with the locals if they had seen you, his expression of worry worsening by the second as people would answer more no's and no's. And when all hope seemed lost, a certain fluffy tailed woman had known exactly where you were, and told the concerned blonde once she noticed his usual smile curl downwards into a frown.

"Thank you, Miss Tingyun!" Yanqing bows before running off towards one of the trees in the training grounds, it was a private & closed off area for the Cloud Knights with various different training equipment but a giant tree in the center of it all.

His worry faded away when he saw you asleep against the trunk, snoring softly as your hair was a slight mess due to the wind that was blowing.

The young swordsman sits next to you, his head faced your sleeping form as he hesitantly puts a hand on your shoulder and shakes you. Waking you up from your peaceful nap.

"..Mm.." Was the first sign that you were waking up, watching your head shift slightly before settling in his general direction. Your eyes slowly flutter open, and are greeted to the sight of Yanqing smiling at you fondly and gigglig at your rather sleepy state. "Good Morning." You could hear him saying.

He can see how your expression immediately changes, first confusion and then panic. "W-wait.. Did I doze off?! Oh no, oh dear, I'm sorry for troubling you! I'll return to work-" But Yanqing grabs your hand before you could even stand, theres a small silence for a moment, wind blowing through your hair as you stared into his eyes.

"Don't leave."

You want to protest, but Yanqing shakes his head before you can get another word out. "Worry not. The General allowed you to rest for a little while longer." He reassures you with a closed eye smile, the hold on your hand had no sign of letting go or allowing you to leave.

Grinning at your sigh of defeat, the boy moves a little so you may sit down next to him.

There's a few moments of silence, not exactly awkward but.. comforting. The feeling of gentle wind brushing against your skin, sounds of birds or leaves rustling, and the slow clouds passing by in the distance. You finally take a moment to appreciate everything going on around you, and maybe one of those things was the warmth that wrapped around your hand. How Yanqing's fingers intertwine with yours as he admires the very same things that you are, humming a gentle tune to hopefully soothe your stress away.

"You know.. I don't think I'm built for this line of work sometimes."

His head is quick to turn to you, though your gaze doesn't drift away from the sky up above.

"I dunno, sometimes I can take it and other times.."

You lay against the tree trunk, closing your eyes and take a deep breath.

"It feels like I'm drowning in a pool of my problems and getting dragged further down to the bottom."

He's not sure whether to comfort you with words or with actions, so he simply guides your head to lean down comfortably on his shoulder.

In time, if you'll ask for it, he'll tell you the words of comfort that he's sure you'll need to hear.

For now, he'll be quiet and listen to your problems that you've kept bottled up for far too long.

Hello Anon! So sorry this took so long, I had a bit of trouble and now I'm back in action! And it's okay, I take generalized groups (First Years, Dorm Leaders, Staff, et cetera) or at least up to 5 individual characters unless you simply want a list of who and what! (Who is most likely to kiss the Reader, and stuff like that)! I also made the Reader masculine!

(Remember: Fem Aligned [She/Her and She/They] will be banned if they interact with my male works, only read and like my GN works.) (Only one exception has been made.)

Synopsis: Male Reader is oblivious to the First Years advances, and it wasn't until they tell you that you knew. If only they can confess right... !

① If your one of those guys that is oblivious in nature, he groans internally he should have seen this coming! If you're not that kinda guy… what the hell?! He can't be that bad at this, right… ?!

② Ace is a very straightforward guy that does not keep his mouth shut at the best of times, only really shutting up if he's truly outclassed, and he's pretty sure his hints are obvious! He tells you he like-likes you, you say, "You too!" And he's sure it was okay until he saw your slightly unfocused gaze…

③ The conversation had dropped, and he doesn't know what you want more, so he asks you carefully about a date next week…

"So… since we're dating, would you like to go to the movies once testing is over?" He asked, his eyes shining with a new and more genuine light then normal. But you seem taken aback almost...

And your face snapped back into focusing, before a whirlwind of different emotions crossed your face! And you answer him, "D… Dating?"

④ … WHAT?! He just said he like-likes you… he wants to date you, in a romantic way! After that clarification, your eyes widen and he feels his blood pressure in his ears! Don't scare him like this, idiot! … But your acceptance helped me eliminate his nerves.

⑤ He's a cheeky little shit, so he might poke fun at your obliviousness and how glassy your eyes looked while waiting for a different conversation. "You looked so lost! Was it in my eyes?" You both know you didn't, but he won't stop because nobody but you can prove him wrong!

⑥ Sharing anything he swipes with you (knowingly or unknowingly), playing cards in private and not tricking you, and sticking it to Grim for taking his food! But in sweeter spirits: Ace does like calling you his boyfriend on campus because, well, it's true. He confessed, he got his man, he's got the happy ending! Suck it Grim!

⑦ There is also a high chance he might start using matter-of-fact terms around you, especially about his feelings and ideas… because he's not going through that again! You can't do that to your man's heart again! Deuce and Sebek say he deserved that little bit of medicine, and Jack and Epel sighed at how he almost messed it up. Hey!

① Two peas in a pod! You both have no idea how to take the hints, and run with them! If you're the oblivious type, this has probably been a slow burn since the beginning. If being oblivious is rare, how unfortunate it started now!

② While the most emotionally mature of the First Years, he's not the brightest boy in class, and only wants the best for everyone. He knows what he feels is affection, and soon love, but if he had to put it into words… Ahhh…

"I'm here for you, always. I really like you…" His confession is soft, almost sad sounding as he wants to continue.

But you cut him off, as he hadn't spoken fast enough to finish the sentence naturally. "I really like you too, maybe even a bit too much…"

③ Deuce states at you, you stare back at Deuce. It took a moment, but both of you fell back and Deuce cried out about what you said. "Do you mean it… ?! Romantically?!" He asked, and internally screamed at this turn of events.

④ Rides on his magic wheel, joining him in the garden as he paints flamingos, and all the other small bits of time you shared; it finally culminated to this!

⑤ If you and Deuce didn't accidentally matched confessions and both of them click: we'd be back to square one. And Deuce knows that that slip of the tongue was truly benevolent because he wasn't even sure about his approach.

⑥ Deuce isn't the type to hide anything unless you want to keep it secret, but he's happy your his boyfriend. He'll teach you anything you want in magic wheels, kiss his cheek, or hold his hand. He has no issue!

⑦ You two were so oblivious and uncommunicative that you had the other First Years betting on you. Who'd confess first, who'd make the move, if you two end up together? Deuce was mortified, was he that bad… ?!

① Jack's only downfall here is his tsundere nature, which can have one of two effects; either people can see right through him, or mistake his feelings. And against his will, if you're commonly oblivious or not, you seem to have missed his signs.

② He knows that smarter people like Leona, Vil, and Ruggie see through his behavior (and the other First Years, but he refuses to believe it truly) but he's still cool and tempered when he slides up next to you at an event…

③ You had to have heard him coming, his boots squeak and his chains were clicking together, and your happiness at his arrival has his face heating…

After a long conversation about the event, his tail had not stopped wagging one bit, and he groaned, "I'd do anything to make you smile like this again…"

"Thank you, Jack. Just being your friend makes me happy." You answer, watching his face contorting. You abashedly ask, "... Oh, is there something else? You look upset."

④ Yeah… Yeah, he was upset. At his own incompetence at securing you as a boyfriend, you were just the guy he wanted to date. And he was mucking this up.

⑤ After a little pause, Jack let go of his face and let the confession come out fully. "I think I might love you, I… want to ask you on a date." It was blunt, and exactly what he wanted. He's actually happy to see your reaction, as he's sure all his cool behavior hadn't broken the ice.

⑥ He's the one who helped you carry loads of books or material, actually studied with you regularly, and kept you company when you followed the rules and weren't at ADeuce and Grim's whims; please, be at his side!

⑦ Jack is the most smooth of all the boys, it's almost like oblivious types don't phase him. He knows how he is and sometimes more gullible or honest people do get confused when he gets really defensive or cold, so he knows to knock it off when he's serious.

① A boy with no knowledge or want of romantic relations until he met you, and this is what you do to him? He's already struggling and your obliviousness to his flirting is daggum atrocious!

② To be fair, I'll give you credit: Epel has no romantic knowledge and any signs he shows are rough and scrapped from another idea. If your not oblivious, Epel probably caused half of it… and if your naturally oblivious, you are nearly blind to how he feels.

③ He really has to resort to… resort to… asking Vil… and even then, he only sees brief but confused glances you give him after an attempt to do whatever it is he needs to do! Damnit! He's almost at his wits end until a potion explodes on him and you take him to the back rooms to help him clean his hair and equipment in the labs basin sink.

④ He takes a deep breath and remembers how Vil taught him this was supposed to go… all alone… no threats of interrupting, no distractions… !

"You know, you're one of the few closest friends I've ever had…" He starts slowly after you take a brush to his drying goggles, and he cleans his hair fringes. "I want something more, if you… catch my drift."

Vil's famous pick-up line gets a skeptical look thrown his way and he almost drops his comb. "Did Azul make a deal with you, Epel? Do you need help breaking out of it?"

⑤ No! He's smarter than that, what the hell?! He actually yanks a couple hairs out on accident as he denies the very notion, he'd never! He calms down enough that his vernakular comes back, and his composure settles. "No. I want more out of you and I… perhaps a date at your place?" And thank goodness you finally got it, or he'd throw the comb!

⑥ He's not shown any real romantic signs or shared too many experiences alone with you, but Vil's plans for your entire last month together was: study date alone in his room, inviting you to a Pomefiore dinner but coincidentally your the only ones there, and sporting event meetups without Leona teasing him!

⑦ Let's be honest here: Ace thought Epel would chicken out (and Deuce as well, sorry Epel). Epel is insulted but after Sebek sort of confirms his lackluster wooing practices, Epel sighed in defeat… then laughed in their face, cause who has the pretty cool boyfriend?! Not them!

① Ace and Jack thought this was the easiest thing to do. Sebek is a loud and outgoing individual, so Sebek really should have no qualms against telling you but it seems he does! Ace couldn't believe it but: Sebek was shy!

② Sebek has many things running in his head and none of them are in his favor for confessing: will you even like him? Will you even entertain his fantasies? You're an attractive guy, why settle for Sebek?

③ Oh, but if getting riled up by the fellow First Years didn't get him moving, then nothing would. He was no coward, Ace! He was sure about this, Jack! Don't think he can't do this, Deuce! Have faith, Epel! And upon his arrival, he makes mistake number one:

"You! Yes, you!" His heart is beating in his chest and his gloves are starting to feel damp and tight on his hands. He had caught you before you could enter campus. "I like you!"

You, walking around in the campus for your classwork or something else, looked a little startled. "Oh, Sebek. Good morning, and you too…"

④ … Mistake number one of any communication starter: he didn't ease into it, or make it blunt. Unlike how he usually was, he messed up and now you and he were just standing there.

⑤ He should probably go back, he should probably start from the top… But that seems to only ever charge forward! He now adds to what he said before, "I like you, a lot! A lot, a lot!" And to be honest, it probably took you both a good minute to finally understand what he meant (he panicked)!

⑥ He and you often find each other in physical education so being together is natural, your time at lunch is usually far exceeding normal times to talk, and he really does enjoy learning your favorite subject while walking with you. Thankfully, in the end, you both finally got together.

⑦ Being boyfriends with Sebek will have Ace and Epel clapping your back and wishing you well (one sincerely, one not so sincerely), and Jack and Deuce give Sebek advice on normal things outside royalty and school life… he doesn't get out much, but that won't stop you two!

Important Housekeeping Announcement for the AU In Which All The Marriages Are Arranged

Honestly I'm structuring this more as a letter because I'm a bit emotional about this entire situation.

With the current state of AI scraping the internet and stealing art and stories right and left, I have locked my AO3 to AO3 users only.

Yes, AO3 has already been scraped, but chances are high they will continue scraping and any level of protection available is something I want to take advantage of. I'd been putting it off because I had over 100 works and that was just...a lot. But I figured out how to lock them all at once so that's done now.

Given The State of Things, I honestly don't really trust that tumblr also will not/has not already been scraped so the chances not zero that I am not going to post the full fics on here, just links to the AO3 posts. I will keep posting snippets on here bc i crave validation, but the actual, full form fics themselves might be just on AO3. I really don’t know.

I hate doing this because I really want to keep my stories as accessible to as many people as possible and some of my earliest fandom memories are of so many fics I was following and loved disappearing, either deleted or friend locked, as Livejournal went dark in the aftermath of Strikethrough.

I really do encourage everyone who doesn't have an AO3 account to get one if you can. It is invite only but the waiting list does move at a fairly decent pace and if you know someone who does have an account already they might still have invites they can give you.

I've been on AO3 for a long time and am perfectly willing to answer any questions at all, about functionality or the controversies surrounding it. Both my DMs and my askbox (here and my main) are open, including for anonymous messages (though sending an anon message is risky because I am incredibly adhd and sometimes it takes me a bit to actually answer asks and you won't get an alert when I answer an anonymous one you sent, if you have a question you don't want your name on publicly, you can send a dm or just tell me in the ask you would rather stay anonymous and i can make a fresh post without your url on it or answer the ask privately as you are comfortable with.)

I know the mcyt fan community in general skews young, though I'm not sure about the demographics of my little corner here specifically, I myself am ~30 (which is still young in fandom in general) and I have seen destruction of fandom spaces before. We have survived it, we will continue to, but some things; art, fic, original stories, will be lost forever. AO3 is one of if not the most secure place to share your fic. It is an archive designed to last.

2. In the name of bullying Yun Taeheon, I need his reaction to Mun Doyun- aka the B rank assassin that was Shin Junseo’s guild leader. Cuz objectively, Yun Taeheon knows a lot can happen in a year and stuff, but also he’s an S-rank leader of a top guild that is willing to give Shin Junseo just about anything and he still cannot recruit him. And then there’s this B-rank nobody (to him) who specifically hired Shin Junseo - as a D rank weapon creator who could only make an average knife every 20 seconds - BC HE HAD A SKILL THAST DESTROYED THE BLADES HE USED. Literally the same reason!! But no, somehow Yun Taeheon is losing this race.

Even better if he somehow gets more backstory or through some time shenanigans he meets the other Mun Doyun, who is basically the reason Shin Junseo is even as good as he is. Like, the reason sjs learned all he could and stuff. Anyway, yth being objectively, obviously on a higher level than this dude and yet still absolutely seething at the very idea of how much he apparently is not measuring up. How do you think that should go?

also, looking at the firsts chapter and think the first chapter and I think Sjs could be the little kid at the very beginning? Meaning that he has grown up in he world of hunters and gates, giving some cool world building to how this is a whole generation of ppl growing up with gates and magic.

However, for the sake of getting more of your sugar daddy au, I am ignoring that. Or maybe it could be incorporated, like- yth was trying to figure out how to ask sjs for just, an actual relationship. And sjs had stopped their contract after signing onto the guild. Extra tension!! Anyway, YTH does have the vibes of somebody who is incredibly understanding but privately also has beef with a dead man. he knows it's unfair and stupid, but also he could buy SJS a god damn pent house apartment. he would. that and any item he wants. actually I just realized while typing this would've been really fucking great to insert into my little soulmate fanfic given I did toss in like one sided bonds existing there. something to consider for the future.

But man, I think it would be interesting if SJS is confronted with him again also in the context of like, SJS not recognizing MDY's brother despite his future memories, which sure has some implication. I told a friend that like my assumption is that Mun Dojin died in the other timeline and I desperately need him and SJS to talk because even if the memories SJS has never actually existed here, that still sort of makes him the only person MDJ can talk to.

⭐) Okay so most importantly I was so on board with this idea after just the first few words. You had me sold IMMEDIATELY!

I think it fits him really well, especially taking into account that I just recently talked about how much I'm sure he enjoys classical music and is a great dancer.

In general, this headcanon as a whole has so much potential for more pining and swooning on the reader's side (and his as well of course), I can practically feel my head bursting with it.

Like, competence is SO incredibly attractive and just think of all the situations I could put the reader in!!!

Imagine your crush on Dilf!Luke is already in the midst of developing and then, to make it worse, you find out how talented he is. Not that you ever thought otherwise but really witnessing it is still kind of taking your breath away.

Since I can see how he probably views playing the piano as a form of meditation, as a way to decompress after a stressful day or to deal with his emotions when they become too much, it would be something you find out rather later than sooner.

Maybe he used to play for his late wife and now only does so when he thinks he's alone.

Maybe it's such a private thing for him to do, he rarely lets those around him take part in it anymore.

So imagine you're staying over at your friend's later than usual and just as you're leaving their room, as they bid you goodbye you hear soft music drifting to you from somehwere in the house.

Imagine sneaking down the stairs and across the hall to listen at the door.

Maybe it's slightly ajar, leaving just the smallest of crack for you to peek through.

Imagine seeing his face, usually so stern, serene for the first time.

Imagine yourself falling even harder for him and feeling like you could stand there and listen to him play for forever.

Then imagine him slowly opening up to you.

Imagine him shyly and slightly bashfully telling you about his most treasured and secret hobby.

Imagine his joy when you react with awe, with such eagerness to learn more.

Imagine him letting you listen in on his practice for the first time (the first that he knows of) and being so awfully nervous, though hiding it well.

Imagine staring at his long and beautiful fingers as they wander along the keys and wondering about what they'd feel like against your skin, your lips, in your hair.

Imagine yourself slightly out of breath when he finishes, your cheeks flushed and him chalking it up to you just really liking piano music.

Imagine him asking you if you'd like to learn how to play a little song yourself?

⭐⭐) I had to really think about this one and still I'm not quite able to tell whether my opinion on this will change in the future or not.

As of right now though, I feel like even Luke wouldn't be too sure about his answer, which would surely stress him out.

It wasn't always like this, HE wasn't always like this, as he used to be one to dream big and plan far into the future.

Though I think that with what happened in his past he has reverted to taking on one day at a time and to not moving too fast ahead.

Accordingly his biggest and only wish, his "end goal", was to simply be with you.

It got fulfilled and now he doesn't need more than that to be happy.

However he's aware that you could have certain expectations about a shared future that differ from his, which has him pondering what he does and does not want, what he's willing to leave behind and overcome for you.

And while he'd do about anything (potentially even overstepping some of his boundaries) to keep/make you happy I think that marriage and especially children are where he draws a line.

At least at first.

I already talked a little bit about his personality and things he struggled with since his first wife died and despite pursuing a better, healthier outlook for himself, I can't help but think he wouldn't want to lock anyone in a marriage or trap them with a child ever again.

Look what that led to the first time!

In his mind the accident wouldn't have happened were it not for the fact that his wife may have felt trapped with him.

Maybe she would have acted differently if she felt comfortable leaving?

Maybe the outcome could have been a different one?

Of course he will never know for sure as she can't tell him anymore and so he eventually came up with his own explanations over the years.

Speculations caused by guilt.

Without doubt though he'd buy you a ring anyways.

Because this he's very adamant about: if things had turned out any other way he would've married you on the spot and as soon as he would've had the chance. That he won't has absolutely nothing to do with you as a person and how much he adores you.

Trust that he'll think about it a lot though, especially if he knows marriage is something you want.

Maybe, some day, he will feel ready to try again though he'd never even consider having kids with you.

Not only for the reasons already listed above but also because of his child and because he thinks he's too old for a baby. (The man may only be in his early 40s but he's tired)

⭐⭐⭐) Oh they are definitely weirded out but it's not like they're against the relationship as a whole; I think up to a certain point they even are quite supportive.

Naturally they do have their reservations, especially when it comes to topics like you moving in with their dad, marriage or potential siblings and even though they know they don't have a say in any of this, they are secretly relieved that, for the time being, it doesn't seem like steps will be taken in any of these directions.

Still I'm sure that at some point they will insist on sitting the three of you down for a talk because especially when it comes to their opinion about their father dating their best friend, they have a LOT to say.

I don't think this would be a very comfortable conversation to have but because you, as well as their father, are very important to them, they will do the most to not hurt anyone's feelings.

Mainly they just want you to be on the same page regarding each other's expectations, wishes and boundaries and most importantly make use of the occasion to set some of their own.

• no moving in together as long as they're still living with their dad and haven't found a place of their own yet

• no obvious displays of affection when they're around, please, they're not interested in third-wheeling their DAD

This one they're especially adamant about because the concept alone is just too outrageous.

You might be fucking their dad (at this it's the first time you're seeing Luke blush) but that's it and as long as it stays that way it's okay.

I'm so sorry if you get tired of answering asks about Pompey and Crassus BUT your response to the anon asking if Crassus let Pompey get away with things really got me thinking! Specifically about the way that Plutarch (I think?) says that Crassus didn't hold ill-will against Pompey for "stealing" his triumph. And how it feels like Crassus just kind of decided to shrug it off and instead asked Pompey for help for the consulship elections. Crassus seems so ruthless and direct while on the field, and I have so many questions about how he and Pompey worked together in Spoletium which will never be answered 😭 But then when it comes to politics I really can't see the pattern!

oh, I love talking about Crassus (and Pompey too, by extension), literally I can't stop. you can ask several people. I'll be talking about one thing, and all of a sudden: Crassus has entered the conversation. it's terrible, I can't stop. mostly, it takes me a thousand years to articulate my thoughts in any kind of way that makes sense.

I actually think that there are two times that Crassus subtextually calls Pompey a bitch, and the triumph incident is one of them!

specifically in that Crassus's comment about it:

Crassus, for all his self-approval, did not venture to ask for the major triumph, and it was thought ignoble and mean in him to celebrate even the minor triumph on foot, called the ovation, for a servile war.

Crassus is also not the first person to hold this sentiment.

I think it's important to remember that for Rome as a whole, the Third Servile War was terrifying because of the scale of the threat it posed to how an imperial wheelhouse running on a slave economy functions, but also because it's really fucking embarrassing for Rome's identity.

Crassus is also not the first person who commands the leading role against Spartacus. Spartacus goes through two other commanders before Rome asks Crassus to enter the scene. Crassus specifically is a private citizen when he is asked to step into this role: up until now, Rome's own praetors and consuls have failed to rise to the occasion.

and so taking credit for that is like. man. this was NOT a "glorious war" that was fought. (Lucullus cites this as a blemish on Pompey's character during his vulture speech, it's very fun!)

so while Crassus may have realized that writing back to Rome and requesting back up was a mistake because whoever showed up would have the world's easiest time taking credit and accepted that it would happen, I do think that he took alternative measures to even the playing field in a 'okay sure, have your triumph, but don't think you're going to have it all,' kind of way because he also does this

which does not strike me as the behavior of someone who is letting Pompey just run away with it without any kind of pushback.

and now to throw out literally everything I just said about the Triumph Incident, B.A. Marshall (whose article I've cited several times already in this) has an incredibly compelling case to make that there wasn't really as much conflict between the two over this as ancient narratives might indicate (which. seems to be a recurring theme with them)

Just read that anon about the video, and I have to say it actually sounds legit. I don't see them asking for privacy unless they felt invaded and they were promised privacy at this resort in that way so it should've been respected. As far as I know, they've never really asked for stuff especially regarding privacy not even when that tik tok girl recorded them at the Crazy Horse place in Paris, and that was actually invasive. For all we know she recorded conversation and just didn't release it. That was invading for sure. I think the lack of respect we as fans have sometimes is so telling and it's sad. Two of the nicest celebrities and we can't let them alone for a little bit. And YESSS girl, I stand with you on social media. It's not everything. Someone said, Tom has changed. I don't think he has at all actually. Definitely more mature, but, still playful and loving from what I see on the outside. He's too diplomatic I think honestly, he let's people say things but doesn't really respond and when he does people attack him because they aren't use to him responding. He ain't passive, he just seems to always take the high road. Very admirable. This is about to be a married man, he is doing exactly what I would want my man to do celebrity or not. I feel like the main issue in this case was the fact that they were on vacation with each other and they had more than likely chosen the place/location specifically for its privacy. So to see that someone deliberately broke resort policy and not only filmed them w/out their consent, but also went out of their way to POST it PUBLICLY for the world to see? 👀

Yeaaaa.....I can see how that didn't go over too well with either of them. 🥴

I don't blame them for feeling a little violated. It wasn't even the paps who caught them (who celebrities realize they just can't control, no matter how much they wish they could), but it was a fan/hotel guest!! 😳 Someone who doesn't even make their living trying to get celebrity photos caught them. I can see how TZ were worried that it would start to cause an influx of fans and maybe even paps to catch on to their location and snap even more pictures and post them online. 🤦🏾‍♀️

So yea, I totally get it why Tom and Z weren't feeling that too much. 🥴 I don't see anything wrong with them speaking up about it, especially if the location they were vacationing at was supposed to be private and had a strict policy against photographing guests against their consent...especially celebrities.

Yep! I agree with this also. I think social media has caused fans to overstep their boundaries a bit when it comes to celebrities. 👀 Just being honest. While I can totally understand the excitement and whatever, I think some fans need to just put themselves in the shoes of their celebrity faves for a hot second. Think about how YOU would feel if strangers did certain things to you! It might not feel all that nice.

That's not even going into the haters who post hurtful, mean and unkind things to celebrities on their posts, or tag them in tweets bashing them for no good reason, etc. 😔 Yea, some ppl can say, "well just ignore it" (and I'm sure many celebs try to), but at the end of the day, they're still human, and sometimes words hurt! Especially when you know that these ppl don't know a thing about you personally, or lies have been spread about you all over the internet and ppl are reacting to the lie instead of the truth that you know. It's just crazy. 🥴

Re: Tom...

Yea, I don't think Tom has really changed who he is as a person either! I mean, I'm sure he's seen the downsides to massive fame, and has kind of learned a bit how to be more wise with his fans and fame level. But overall, he's obviously still the nice, kind, good guy that we've always known, and fan encounters and the things that ppl say about him reflect that! 😃

And yea girl.... I want my man to PROTECT me too!! Shoot lol.... 😂 If anything, ppl could argue that he was really protecting Zendaya with that plea to take down the video, because in all honesty, Tom's back was to the camera, so he could have been any old dude walking along the beach. But it was Zendaya who's face could be clearly seen in the video, on her bikini, splashing in the water.....

why do i like dark stuff?

A little while ago I received an anonymous ask that I won't be publishing, because the way it was phrased suggests it was asked in bad faith (think "Have you stopped beating your wife?"). The question essentially boiled down to "Why are you into [works featuring] a horrible thing?".

I am generally a very open person, and normally wouldn't mind waxing philosophical about why my mind is twisted the way it is, but the thing is, it doesn't actually matter.

The way I see it, what we engage with in works of fiction, both as writers and readers, is akin to roleplaying.

For instance, when I write or read stories featuring rape, that's functionally no different from playing out a force fantasy with a partner. Assuming a story has been outfitted with appropriate tags and warnings, everyone involved have given their informed consent - because the characters in the story? Those are fictional.

No actual real people are being subjected to any kind of violation or abuse in the content I enjoy.* And writing or reading about abuse does not equate to condoning it.

Now, I understand that it can be upsetting to find that the creator of something you enjoy also creates or engages with works that you find morally repugnant (or even just a bit icky). Truly! I get it. But the thing is, dealing with your feelings about what other people consent to do with one another (as writers and readers of these stories) really isn't their responsibility. It's yours.

If you find the mere existence of a certain kind of story so triggering or upsetting as to feel abused yourself, you may want to look into the many ways you can filter and hide stories from AO3 so you won't be exposed to them. People who are into darkfic of all kinds are generally extremely aware that what we enjoy is often upsetting/triggering to others, and we're good at using tags and warnings to make sure no one who doesn't want to see our work will read it by accident.

Like I said at the beginning of this post, I am not going to attempt to justify "why" I like the things I do, but I do want to say one thing on that topic: the psychology behind why people are into these kinds of things is incredibly complex, and as far as I know, science has barely begun to scratch the surface. Most people don't know why they kink the way they do. But please bear in mind that some who are into darkfic are using it as a way of processing their own traumatic experiences of abuse of various kinds. And if I were one of those people, being put on the spot with an anonymous demand that I explain and justify myself publicly would probably not help.

Finally, to the anon who sent the ask: If you are genuinely curious and did not mean to attack me - if you are prepared to actually listen to my answer - reach out to me in private and we'll talk.

* In fact, I'm so damn sensitive I can't even watch BDSM porn from reputable sources with actor interviews and all, because of the constant niggling worry that maybe, just maybe they're not into it after all.

Ficlet/Drabble Requests for Puss In Boots

I'm taking fic requests! Send me your request through an ask, and I'll see what I can do and if I'd like to write it. The ask can be anonyomous or not- depends on what you'd prefer, and if I have anon asks open at the time. ONLY PUSS IN BOOTS FANDOM, NO CROSSOVERS PLEASE MAKE SURE TO CHECK BLOG DESCRIPTION TO SEE IF REQUESTS ARE OPEN BEFORE ASKING

There are some rules for it, however;

Relationships I will write both slash and non-slash works. Non-slash have no rules, I will write any non-slash relationship. Slash does have rules, however; Relationship must be adult x adult, I will not write children in slash fics. [As I view Perrito as a child, I will not write slash of him] No incest I do not write Kitty/Death or Death/Puss/Kitty, or Puss/Dulcinea, I am just not a fan of those ships I will write OC/Self-Insert x Canon, or Oc/Self-Insert x OC/Self-Insert [See Rule 3 for more]

Ratings I will write either SFW or NSFW fics. SFW is anything with minimal gore, no smut, minimal violence. NSFW is anything with a lot of gore, smut, and a lot of graphic violence. When requesting violence and gore, please specify if you want it to be SFW or NSFW amounts. Regarding smut, please specify all kinks/actions you want. Hard smut no's are; Urine or fecal play Anything underage or adjacent to underage [includes ageplay] Graphic r*pe [I will write dubious consent or coerced consent, but graphic non-consent is not something I am comfortable writing]

OCs and Self-Inserts I will write OC's and Self-Inserts, all other rules still apply to these characters. Please include a visual reference or appearance description, personality overview, some basic backstory [does not have to be character history, simply what they're doing at the time and why, as well as how they know other characters], pronoun, and a name, as I will not use YN or Reader in lieu of name. If requesting smut, please let me know what privates to write the character with.

Alternative Universes If you want something written in your AU, please include basic descripton and reading material [this can be sent separately in another ask, or through DMs]. If you want me to write one of my AUs, keep in mind that the drabble likely will not be canon to the AU, and keep in mind I may refuse due to not wanting to spoil major plot points.

I Can Say No I reserve the right to say no to doing your request for whatever reason I have, without needing to explain why. I will answer the ask privately to tell you if I refuse, and will try and tell you promptly so you aren't stuck in limbo about it [only the ones I accept will be stuck in limbo, haha]. I may give a reason. I may not. Do not throw a hissy fit about it- if you send a request, get denied, and I get a bunch of anon hate after, I will know it was you, and I will either blacklist and likely block you, or keep an eye out for familar sentence stucturing and tone to refuse future request I feel is from the same anon.

Communicate With Me When Asked I may answer your ask privately requesting more details. Either your request was too vague, or there's something I want to clear up, it doesn't matter. If I ask for more details, keep in mind it is not a 'no', it is a 'can I know more?'. If I ask for more details, either send in another ask, or DM me. I will save the contents of your original ask to add to the post if I do chose to write it.

Archive Of Our Own I may post your drabble on AO3. Whether I do or not depends on mood, and if I think it fits on my account. If you wish for your request to be gifted to you, include your account name in the ask, and I will. You do not have to do this, its entirely optional, though if you request off anonymous, I will include your name in the notes on the fic. Not all drabbles will be posted on AO3, whether you add your account or not. Do not request I add one to my account.

Just send in your request, and I will see what I can do! Make sure to include characters, relationships and their nature, rating and a basic plot summary. If your unsure, you can use this template; Character names | Relationship | Rating | Content | Plot [+ | OC/Self -Insert details]
