Tumblr media
pairing: charles leclerc x femalereader
summary: you've been asking for a pet since almost an eternity. you're lucky enough that your boyfriend always is one step ahead and perceives your wishes as a priority.
warnings: none, just fluff
Tumblr media
"STAY RIGHT THERE!" Charles told you as he climbed out of the bed.
You could hear all sorts of curious noises and you didn't know what to make of it.
Charles dashed back into the bedroom, took you by the hand and helped you out of the bed.
"Turn around," He orderee. You did as he requested. Charles gently placed a blindfold over your eyes and tied it.
"Is that okay?" He asked.
"Yes." You replied.
Your boyfriend took your hands, carefully leading you out into the living room.
You stopped and Charles helped you sit down on the couch.
"Wait just one minute," He told you. You sat there, wondering what Charles had up his sleeve this time.
You just hoped it was nothing too insane. You heard him enter the living room once again. It sounded like he was dragging a box.
"What's going on?" You asked, as you started to feel a little impatient.
"Just one more second, baby. I promise," Charles said. You sighed, he pushed something closer to you.
It felt like a cardboard box. There were some scratching sounds coming from inside the box, and you started to get really nervous.
Is something going to pop out and bite you?
Charles reached over, gently pulling off the blindfold. It was a cardboard box.
Your boyfriend grinned like a little kid that had a big secret.
"Open it!" he told you. You glanced at him. He looked like he was struggling to contain his excitement.
You slowly began to open the box. There was something-alive in here. And it was also extremely furry.
Suddenly, a cute face popped up and licked you on the nose.
You squealed with excitement and delight. It was a freaking puppy! And it was adorable too because it was a golden retriever.
You lift the small, wriggling bundle out of the box as the puppy continued to lick your face.
"Oh, Charles!" You cried. "It's adorable! Thank you!" You leaned over, gently kissing Charles on the lips.
He grinned like crazy and looked quite proud of himself. You cuddled the warm, wriggling puppy in your arms, covering it in kisses.
"Is it a boy or girl puppy?" You asked Charles.
"It's a girl puppy," He responsed. You set the puppy down on the floor and she frisked over to Charles, who scooped her up in his arms.
You laughed. Then suddenly, you were crying. He instantly looked concerned.
"What? What's the matter? Don't you like her?" You stood up, moving to Charles, who set the puppy down and held you as you sobbed into his shoulder.
"I love her," you managed to say. "It's just so overwhelming and wonderful! Oh, Charles! I love you." Charles kissed your forehead and hugged you tightly.
"I'm happy you love her. What should we call her?" You stopped crying and wiped your face. You thought for a moment.
"I'm going to call her Bella. How does that sound?" Charles hugged you again as Bella came over to you both. To her official new parents.
"I think that sounds perfect."

Babysitting Bad Boy ~ *Samatoki Aohitsugi*
Tumblr media
Summary: You need to babysit your niece on the same day you promised a day dedicated to Samatoki. He's none too pleased about being roped into a babysitting gig by you.
Pairing: Samatoki Aohitsugi X Fem!Reader
Genre: Fluffy Drabble
Word Count: 829
Warning: one swear word, Samatoki is a little OOC, mentions having children.
Masterlist
“What?”
You rolled your eyes at your boyfriend. “You heard me. We’re babysitting.” You then gestured to the little girl holding onto your leg. “This is my niece, Anna. We’re going to be taking care of her today.”
Samatoki stared at her before he shook his head. “Yeah, no. I don’t do little kids. You’re on your own. I'll see you later.”
As he turned to leave, you grabbed the back of his hoodie. In a low, threatening voice, you said, “I don’t remember asking you to help me. I remember telling you that we’re babysitting. I’m not doing this alone. And if you don’t help me, I will kill you.”
Samatoki grit his teeth but you could see the fear in his eyes. “You really wanna say that in front of a little kid?”
“Auntie Y/n always makes jokes like that!” Anna exclaims with a giggle. You laughed, your whole terrifying demeanor changing in the blink of an eye.
“Of course! Now what do you want to do today, Anna? Auntie Y/n and Uncle Xiaojun will make all of your wishes come true!”
“Whoa, hey! I’m not an uncle-” You glared at him and Samatoki swallowed his protest. “But I suppose today I am.”
“I want waffles! And I want to go to the park!” She exclaimed before taking both of your hands and dragging you out of your apartment.
You grinned at Samatoki, “Are you ready for this?”
“Absolutely not.” He muttered, but let the kid drag him anyway. He'd rather not have to deal with your fury today.
The three of you visited a cute little cafe not too far from your apartment, where Anna got waffles with strawberries and whipped cream. You ordered yourself a pastry and some coffee, while Xiaojun just stuck to black coffee.
“Not hungry?” You cooed, a teasing lilt in your voice
He shook his head before drinking his coffee. “Not for any of that crap.”
“Wow! These waffles are so big!” Anna squealed with delight. She put a bite in her mouth before squealing again. "And they're so delicious too!"
You smirked at him as you drank your own coffee. “See? The food is delicious! You should get something.”
He rolled his eyes. “Considering I’m the one who paid for it, I can do whatever I damn well please and I'm having coffee.”
“Whatever you say, Samatoki."
After you finished eating, Anna dragged you both to the park down the street. Upon arriving, you sent her on her way to go play on the playground. You and Xiaojun sat on a bench nearby to keep an eye on her as she played.
“So why are we babysitting?”
You shrug, watching you niece play with some of the other kids on the playground. “My brother had an important meeting today and he couldn’t find a babysitter last minute. I offered to help out.”
“Even though you knew we were going to be spending the day together?” He asked, though he didn't sound as angry as he did earlier.
You chuckled, still not looking at him. “Maybe this was a test.”
“A test?”
“To see what kind of father you’d be.”
A light blush adorned his cheeks as he started sputtering. “You can’t just say stuff like that so casually!”
You laughed. “I know but you’re so cute when you’re all flustered like this!”
“Well aren’t you a fun couple?” A mom passing by with a stroller chuckles. “I remember when my husband was in his rebellious phase too. You know, I wish he kept his tattoos, like your husband did. Nevertheless, I’m glad you got yours to settle down with you as well!”
Samatoki’s blush only darkened. “Hey, we’re not-”
You latched onto his arm and laughed. “Yes, I am truly blessed to have such a great husband like Samatoki here! I’m hoping that by hanging out with my niece he might want one or two of his own, you know?”
“Well good luck!” She cheered before moving along.
Samatoki turned to yell at you. "What the hell was that all about?! Are you crazy?! That was so embarrassing! Why did you have to make me look all soft like that?”
You rolled your eyes. “Oh please. None of what I said was a lie.”
He continued to stutter as he tried to come up with a witty comeback. “You, wha-but, I-”
“Auntie Y/n?” Anna came up to the both of you rubbing her eyes. “I’m ready to go home now.”
Patting her head gently, you picked her up and balanced her on your hip. Taking Samatoki’s hand, you pecked his cheek and smiled. “Let’s go home, tough guy.”
"Fine." He muttered, wrapping an arm around your shoulders. "But you still owe me a day all to myself with you."
"We'll see."
"I mean it."
"I know you do." You snicker. "I'll see what I can do, husband."
He groaned. "You're going to be the death of me, woman, I swear."

hello!!! So I finally wrote a fanfic of Muzan being ticklish from that one headcannon I sent in a while ago. Here it is!
The Day Douma Found Out
Summary: Muzan summoned Douma for a private meeting, but things take a new turn when Douma gets a bit hands on (SFW)
Warnings: Not Canon, Swearing
Enjoy! ⭐️
His patience was already running thin. “Douma, you have failed to bring me the blue spider lily. Again.” Muzan spoke calmly, despite his harsh words. “Master Muzan~” Douma spoke from-the floor…”I’m so sorry…I’ve failed you yet again!~Oh what shall I do to repay you? Shall I chop off an arm? Gouge out my own eyeballs-“ “I have no need for your useless eyeballs.” Muzan cut him off quickly. “What I Need is for you to finally show some usefulness around here.” “Oh Lord Muzan~” Douma practically sang. “What would you like me to do!~Anything you wish for me to complete and it’ll be done~” Douma crawled over to Muzan, gripping onto the back of his shirt. “What shall I do for you?~” Muzan growled lowly. “You can start by-“ He stopped, turning his head away. “Hm? I can start by what Master  Muzan?~” Douma cooed, smiling brightly. “Y-you can start by-letting go..and standing up.” Muzan growled out-but, was that a stutter? “As you wish, Lord Muzan~” Douma released Muzan’s shirt and stood up swiftly. But he was curious-why had Muzan acted like that? He ran back through his actions-grabbing the back of his shirt, talking, and-wait. Douma stared over at Muzan, and a slow, shit-eating grin appeared on his face. “Why Master Muzan~” Douma slowly moved to stand right behind him. “Did you get a new shirt? This one seems different from your last shirt~” He reached up and slowly dragged his hand down Muzan’s back, not letting his nails quite touch him. “D-douma-get your claws off of me-“ Muzan growled out, his voice just slightly shaking. “But Lord Muzan~” Douma cut him off. “My claws aren’t even on you~if my nails were on you, it would be much different~Here, like this…~” Douma switched and instead dragged his claws down Muzan’s spine, shocked at the girlish squeal manlysqueak that Muzan let out and the snort that practically flew out of his mouth. And-holy shit-the blushthat immediately came to Muzan’s cheeks. Before he could process what happened. Muzan had whipped around and slashed his hand off. “Never. That-NEVER happened, got it?” This time Muzan spoke angrily, genuinely threatening him. Douma stood shocked for a moment before a wide, once again shit-eating grin appeared on his face. “Oh Lord Muzan~I wouldn’t dream of it~but…in case my mouth slips, to keep me silent how about we test where else you’re tic-“ Before he could finish, Douma’s head was sliced off. “No. And don’t-don’t say that word…” Douma couldn’t see it, but he imagined Muzan’s cheeks were lightly flushed pink. He couldn’t be more wrong-Muzan’s face was a flaming red bright enough to rival the tips of Rengoku’s hair.
The End! I Hope you enjoyed!
KJERKEKJKJREJRJ OH SNAP!!! (It's been a hot minute since I've got this my bad friend akljaejkrjkejr) WOW! I really enjoyed this, friend! I'm not much of a Muzan person, but the idea of Michael Jackson Muzan having a ticklish back is so real to me? Not many are bold enough to try, but Douma's willing to risk it all!
A small writing tip; formatting makes it easier to read your work, so spacing out the paragraphs in your fics helps the eye catch all the words vs a block of text- if that makes sense! Besides that, I really enjoyed your work!
Thank you for sharing, friend! :3 (I especially loved the way you wrote Douma- it was DELIGHTFUL!)

A request kinda like one you’ve done before I think it was called like “Amazonian Goddess” or something but like Reader x Levi kicking ass in some sort of organization? It can be like some organization against corrupt people in the government or famous people that do really shitty things and Reader x Levi go on missions to exploit and eradicate them. Or sneaking into cult practices and shutting it down( that would probably mess me up for life but makes a good story plot :) ) so yeah they are just so badass taking all these criminals out and killing bad guys and holding hands and kissing while beating the shit out of people… Imagine breaking into a government space and convincing Levi to skip through the halls shooting bad guys… just Levi skipping while holding your hand makes me red
This would be a fun long fic. I'm going to take one part of your ask and do a scene in the cult as I've done a lot of action scenes where we skip around, or Levi kicks the shit out of people with us. Hope you don't mind.

You bowed your head as you walked past worshippers in the encampment. You enjoyed the warm country breeze going through your hair. You looked up to the mountains and the grand green lands with vast forests climbing up hills towards the mountains.
You left the small camp of worshippers, it was one of many that people lived in who worshipped the father. You and Levi had slipped into the cult, worked your way up the ranks and slowly injected people with doubt. You were ranked so high with Levi that you had your own camp.
Your camp was slowly growing with people who doubted the teachings of the father. You and Levi were helping people leave but appearing loyal to the father and his two disciples. You knew it wouldn't take long to take this cult down.
You and Levi had plans for the future. You were going to shut this cult down and then go off together on a romantic getaway. You were happily married and wanted to be a married couple for a bit on holiday. You wanted a month's break, maybe two.
You crossed a river and through a woodland path until you saw a home in a large field of flowers with a river running by into a lake, views of the mountains and thick woods. You smiled softly wishing this was your forever home. You'd moved around for years with Levi but never settled down. You adored this home and you were hoping that Levi might agree to two months here.
You hurried along the path to see your two dogs run out of the house and turn to their father. You smiled brightly as Levi walked out of the house. You sprinted down the path without Levi knowing your presence. Your dogs noticed you first and then your husband.
Levi lit up in delight before racing towards you. He grabbed you and spun around with you as your dogs barked. "Welcome home!"
You squealed in delight. "Hi honey!"
He put you on your feet. "How did it go?"
You held Levi's hands and sighed. "Good, but I'm getting tired."
"We can go in with our guns. I have all my weapons at the ready."
You hummed a laugh. "No, Levi. We have to take our time."
He huffed a little and pouted. "But bunny."
You cupped his face and wiggled it. "I know, my naughty bear, I know." You kissed him and smiled. "Patience. If we go in firing our guns then innocent people might get hurt. We have to tip the balance." You pressed the end of his nose. "The fewer people who follow, the better. Statistics say that if you pressure cult leaders, they will either make people kill themselves or they will kill them."
Levi hugged you tightly. "I hate how right you are." He released you and held your hand. "A part of me wants this to last because I love our home."
"Me too. I wish this was our forever home, but people need us."
Levi gazed at you. "Well, it can be our base camp home. Our forever home. Our future."
Your eyes sparkled in delight. "Oh please!"
He leaned closer and kissed you. "It's sorted then." He walked with you back to the house. "So, plan for this cult?"
You hummed in thought. "I'm close to making his noting-taking disciple doubt the father. I just need a bit more time. How are you doing with his trainer of soldiers?"
Levi smirked. "Easy. The man is weak. I need one more conversation and this cult crumbles. The father will be by himself."
You clapped your hands together. "Perfection!"
Tumblr media
You pressed your back against the wooden wall as you check your ammo. You loaded it into your gun and sighed. "You okay honey?"
Levi lifted up his machine gun and attached it to its holder. "I'm good." He locked it into place and check the chain of bullets. "Remind me how we got here?"
You hummed a laugh. "You punched the father in the face for making a pass at me. He said all women in his cult are his wives, therefore I was his wife."
Levi locked and loaded his gun. "Tch, piece of shit. You're my wife."
You walked over to the ladder up inside the wooden church. "Be careful, okay? I'll sniper them from the roof." You kissed his cheek. "Make me proud."
Levi yanked you close and kissed you passionately. "I'm going to fuck you hard and good after this."
You growled. "You better." You slapped his ass before climbing up the stairs with your gun slung over your shoulder. You clambered onto the roof and lay on your stomach as you softly sang. "God, I love my job." You set up your sniper and fixed your earpiece so you could speak to Levi. "Darling?"
Levi sang your name. "My love!"
You giggled. "I've got my eyes on the last stand against us." You adjusted your scope. "You sure this is the last resort?"
"They wouldn't listen to reason, my love. We have to do this. This is a kill or be killed."
You pouted hard. "But Levi!"
"I know, I know." He chuckled. "You like using your words. Sometimes people won't listen."
You kicked your legs and whined. "I know, I know."
Levi smiled as he checked his setup. "You have an adorable pout on your face, don't you?"
"No!" You sighed. "I'm going to smack your bum after this."
"Please do."
You looked down your scope and hummed. "We're in close range, my love."
Levi gripped his gun tightly. "Give me the word and I'll open fire."
You watched them get closer. "Steady." You smirked as they ran closer with guns at the ready. You watched them fall for your funnelling set-up of things along the way to push them all down one path. "They fell for it. Oh, we've got one going off course."
"Don't you have claymores set up?"
You squealed in delight as one blew up. "I do! Fire my love!" You gasped in delight as the loud bursts of Levi's gun rained out across the field. You watched as the bullets ripped through the front doors and into the heavily armed soldiers wanting to kill you both. "What a man." You moaned. "I love you, Levi."
Levi smirked. "I love you too. Now, show me what you do best. I bet you're kicking your legs right now and you'll clench your delicious thighs when you go to fire."
You giggled and squeezed your thighs before shooting an RPG-wielding soldier. "You know it, my sweet darling."
"Fuck, you're incredible. You have impeccable aim." He moaned. "I love you so much."
You fired again and watched a guy's head go pop. "I love you too. You're so handsome and perfect."
The thunderous sounds of Levi's machine gun came to an end. Silence fell on the land. The birds returned and started singing sweet songs. The pleas of mercy from the father erupted and pierced the air. He declared his lies and that he was not a prophet.
You and Levi sat together on a bench as your team came in and cleared out the cultists who wanted to escape. Levi gave his report to Erwin. Levi walked with you back home where your pups were both waiting. Levi pulled you against him and started slow dancing with you in front of the home as the dogs jumped around you both and barked.
Levi dipped you and smiled. "My love, my darling, you are a delight to love and be with."
You gripped Levi and purred. "I love you so much."
Levi crashed his lips against yours and held you firmly against his body. "Mm, I love you so much."
You giggled. "I love you too."

Saga: Epilogue - 1
Writer: Akira
Season: Winter
Characters: Jin, Jun
Proofreading: 310mc (JP) & hyenahunt (ENG)
Translation: kotofucius
Jin: I’d risen from my grave by mistake, but you've struck me dead once more.
Tumblr media
[Read on my blog for the best viewing experience with Oi~ssu ♪]
Location: Reverse Live Stage
Jin: “♪~♪~♪”
Tumblr media
Jun: “~…♪”
Tumblr media
(GODDAMN! This is so freakin' hard! I’m going at full throttle to kick Sagami Jin's ass, y’know~!?)
(I’m baring my fangs and howling at him, with every intent to strike him dead!)
(But thanks to that damn video that just played, the audience just sees me as some kinda huge starstruck fan of his…)
(And every time I lunge at him, they just start squealing!)
(I can hear 'em now… “Oh, he loves him so much!” “He looks so happy getting to sing with his idol!” “Congrats on your dream coming true!”)
(Couldja not look so fondly at a scene like this~!? I mean, c'mon!)
Tumblr media
(Damn it all! Well yeah, my dream did come true, but it's a world away from what you guys think it is!)
(So don’t look at me like that, I'm begging ya~ Why the hell did things turn out like this!?)
Jin: …Sacchan. You’ve gotta focus~ Both your singing and dancing aren't looking too hot. You doing okay? Getting tired?
Tumblr media
Jun: 'Scuse me? “Sacchan”? Don'tcha go acting like we're friends, Sagami Jin!
Jin: Well, you’re always calling me by my full name too… And that feels so dead-serious that it's kinda scary…
I’d be a lil' more comfortable if you could ease up and just call me something like Jin-san.
Tumblr media
Jun: Haha! Well, if it bothers you so much then I’m just gonna keep calling you Sagami Jin~!
So if you’re giving me an annoying nickname in return just to get back at me, I guess I can't really complain, huh~?
Jin: Hmm, not quite… Calling you Sazanami just makes me think of your dad, see.
And since our names are kinda similar, saying your first name feels like saying my own… so I thought I'd try a nickname.
Jun: Seriously? We’re nowhere close enough to be using nicknames! You better keep in mind that video was edited and nowhere near close to reality!
So if you'd kindly not confuse the two then I'd really appreciate it! You’ve always been and always will be my most resented foe, got that~!?
Tumblr media
Jin: I do get it. It's only natural that you hate me — It's what I deserve considering all the people I trampled over just to climb to the top.
Among them were parents who had mouths to feed, along with innocent people who had done nothing wrong… Really, I always knew a day like this would come.
That's why I chose to run away back then, disgusted with the yakuza-like business I was doing.
Jun: ……
Jin: Y’know, Sacchan… I’m kinda confused, too. I thought that even if you were to hit me or kill me, I had no right to protest.
Tumblr media
Jin: But take a look. When I actually surrender to fate and face you, our audience cheers in delight.
And it's not 'cause they’re thirsting for violence, no. Nobody wishes to see that.
And well, showing people things they don’t want to see — Is that really what an idol does?
I don’t think it is. No… in fact, that's what my kids taught me. I’m supposed to be the teacher, but I just keep learning new things from them.
I wish I could’ve learned all this much, much sooner. That’s why I’m passing it down to you, while you still have your whole life ahead of you.
'Course, I know it's nowhere near enough to make up for all the pain I caused you and your dad…
Jun: ……
Tumblr media
Jin: …That video… truly opened my eyes. It made me really understand the atrocity of the things I’d done.
And what I'd done… was destroy a family and ruin a child’s life.
Join us for Project-Saga, the revival of legendary idols, they said… I let myself get taken in by such a drunken plan, see…
Even I ended up giving in to the fun, and I let it guide me here as if it were all a nice little dream.
But of course, that wasn’t right. You reminded me that I no longer deserve to be an idol.
Tumblr media
Jin: I’d risen from my grave by mistake, but you've struck me dead once more.
Won’t you make do with that? If I’m such a condemnable eyesore in your eyes, then I’ll disappear for you. If you want me to beg for forgiveness, then I’ll beg 'til you’re satisfied.
Even if I offered up my life, I still can’t possibly make up for the peaceful family and happy childhood I stole from you.
But it’s all I have, so I’ll offer it all up to you.
So just… Don’t lay a finger on my students. They’re innocent.
No — I'd like you to also forget your hatred and live on happily, with a smile. What must I do for that?
I may be a teacher, but I don't know a thing, so won't you teach me…? What must I do to atone?
Tumblr media
Jun: …What must you do, huh?
Tumblr media
Haha. Honestly, I’m already plenty satisfied, just from getting to see that look on your face and hearing you say those words.
Tumblr media
Hell, from that very moment in SS when you were the one rooting for me from the audience —
You could say that already helped to save me.
Nah, actually… Being found and taken in by Ohii-san…
And becoming an idol great enough to stand on the same stage as you…
Tumblr media
That must’ve already been all that I needed. For a wild stray that had lived by scavenging carrion to survive, it's plenty more than enough of a reward… You could say it was my salvation.

Happy Mother's Day?
*step step patter*
Irene quickly sat upright when she heard these noises very early morning. It was very early morning. The sun hadn't even risen yet. The moon and stars beaming brightly in the dark sky.
*scurry*
Irene frowned at these disturbing noises.
'Ugh! Please don't tell me we attracted mice to the house.'
While Irene was a gentle caring lineant mother, she did have her rules.
First rule was to always clean after yourself and to help keep the house clean.
Irene huffed as she pulled off the covers and slipped into her bathrobe and slippers.
She shuttered at the thought of a horrible mice infestation. If she wanted to prevent this, then she would need to strike swiftly.
Irene quietly opened the door as to not wake her family, especially Wendy. Her little girl gets really fussy if her naptime is interupted.
The first thing Irene noticed was such a delightful scent that filled the air. It smelled like a bakery that had just finished baking a fresh batch of sweets.
Irene wiped a bit of drool that leaked from the corner of her mouth. Yes it smelled that good!
Suddenly she heard of flurry of whispers and the faint clink of metal hitting each other.
'Wait a minute? Who would be baking this early?'
She slowly made her way down the hall and stairs. Irene could see the faint kitchen light from the distance.
"Erza! Stop eating the strawberries!" scolded someone is a hushed whisper.
"Natsu-nii don't bully Erza-nee!" cried a soft voice.
"Good job Salamander! You made the little shrimp cry!"
"Oh shut it metal face! You're eating all our baking tools!" he roared back.
"Natsu-san beat him up!"
"You are quite silly to believe Natsu can defeat Gajeel-san in a duel."
"You really wanna go Rogue?!"
"No, I have no interest in fighting over such a childish dispute."
"WILL YOU BOYS BE QUIET! YOU ARE GOING TO WAKE UP MOM!"
Irene shivered when she heard from what's probably the loudest hushed roar of her life.
"But Erza-nii, your still eating mommy's strawberries for her pancakes!" pointed out Wendy.
"Yeah! Who are you talk!" accused the boys collectively.
It devolved into utter chaos. Everyone arguing over who had what idea. Wendy was no innocent child either. She was using the moment of distraction to stuff her face with the chocolate they planned to use for Irene's pancakes.
"Oh yeah right! You wish you had the brains to cook Salamander! That's why I'm here ain't I? It's obvious you all need my proffesional culinary skills."
"Please! You two airheads would burn down the house if I wasn't here!" scoffed Erza.
"Yeah but at least Natsu-san can beat you in a fight!" proclaimed Sting proudly.
For the next couple of minutes, the siblings argued with each other until Irene stepped into the kitchen.
The floor was splattered with dropped ingrediants. Stacks of dirty dishes filles the sink. Irene felt like fainting at the sight of such a horriyfing mess.
"Mommy!" squealed Wendy happily. Her face smeared entirely with chocolate as she jumped into Irene's hands.
Everyone stopped arguing and it got silent fast.
Nobody dares breathe or move a muscle.
"What's going on in here? Why are you all up so early and fighting?" Irene asked with great confusion.
"Well you see!"
The group tried to explain, but talked over each other creating a flurry of jumbled voices.
"Okay! I get it! But it seemed you are trying to make a cake. Are you planning to celebrate something?"
"Well yeah! It's mother's day!"
Irene's eyes widen with surprise. Today was mother's day?!
"Happy mother's day mom!!" cheered everyone as they pulled Irene in for a group hug.
Irene cried a couple tears of joy as they all hugged.
"Sorry about the mess mom. We wanted to bring you breakfast in bed."
"Haha it's okay! We can go out for breakfast later."
"Yay! Mommy, I want pancakes!"
"Hehe of course darling!"
Natsu smirked. "I'm so glad I came up with this idea. Really I'm the genius afterall."
'Oh no...'
And poor Irene was correct because her children spent the next 20 minutes fighting over the breakfast in bed idea.
Yep just another day here in the Belserion household!

Title: Run For Your Life
Requested by: @phoenixqueen07 Thanks for the request! I hope this lives up to your expectations, if not then I'm really sorry. Tell me what you think!
Word Count: 8,000
Warnings: None
Summary: You've dedicated your whole life to fixing things, but after eight hundred years, you've finally come to learn that some things just can't be fixed. Maybe it's better to keep things from being broken. || Klaus x reader || Here lies my Masterlist
Your phone was ringing. A common occurrence, to be sure, but rather annoying at three AM. You checked the number before answering but your screen flashed with the word: UNKNOWN. You didn't think much of it, however, as receiving calls from strangers was part of your job. Although, if it was Greta again you might actually set something on fire. The poor woman had dementia and a tendency to call at outrageous hours to ask where her husband went. You understood that such behavior wasn't her fault, but your patience was not unlimited and her husband had been dead for three years. Needless to say, you weren't in the mood to have that conversation again. Clearing your throat, you tapped the green button and lifted the device to your ear.
"Hello, you've reached Dr. Y/N Y/L/N. How may I help you?" You said in as cheery a tone as you could manage at such an hour.
"Hello, love."
You froze upon hearing the voice on the phone. Well, it wasn't Greta, though now you wished that was the case. No, this caller was infinitely worse. A chill crept down your spine as you got up and moved to the window. Pushing back the curtain just a fraction, you glanced around your secluded property for any sign of movement. A thousand questions raced through your head. Had he found you? Did he know where you were? How could he? You had been so careful. Why was he calling you? Why now? Had he finally decided your eternal suffering wasn’t worth his effort? Was he just going to kill you? A painfully sharp sense of dread flooded through you, but you would rather take a walk through the Australian Outback without your daylight ring than let him know how terrified you really were.
"How did you get this number?" You asked in a tone colder than ice. It wasn’t hard to achieve, you’d had eight hundred years to practice. You'd been a fool to think you could ever truly escape him.
"Oh, don't play that game, Y/N," The man chuckled. Your heart squeezed a little at the sound. "I know you're delighted to hear from me."
That almost made you want to laugh. You grimaced instead, sitting back down on your bed. "Du nicht kennst mich nicht mehr, Klaus,” You said firmly. The sharpness of your mother tongue was something of a comfort to you, though the words you spoke were lies.
“I beg to differ.” He was right. He did know you - he always would.
“How did you get this number?" You asked again, your tone unchanged.
"Well, I have my ways, love. You of all people should know that by now," He hummed. That smug smirk of his was practically audible.
You huffed, rolling your eyes, he just loved being dramatic. "Yeah, yeah whatever - nobody cares. Just tell me who squealed so I can punch their lights out."
"If you must know, it was a certain young vampire by the name of Alyson," He supplied somewhat reluctantly. "Know her?"
"Alyson?" You scoffed, getting out of bed and pulling on a robe as you headed downstairs. "Oh, come on! That's not even an achievement, the kid can't keep her mouth shut to save her life."
"Sounds like someone I used to know," Klaus said, his voice softening. That was something you missed. He used to sound like that more often, kind, gentle, playful even, but not anymore. Not for a while, anyway - not even for you. You bit your lip.
'No.' You reminded yourself. 'You can't do this, Y/N. You can't get your hopes up for nothing. Not again.'
"What do you want, Klaus?" You tried so hard to keep your voice from shaking and maybe it was enough. It had been a long time, maybe he'd forgotten just how well he knew you. Not likely. After all, you hadn't forgotten a single thing about him. "I know this isn't a social call."
There was a pause. And a deep breath. No, he hadn't forgotten you. Was that for better or worse? You couldn’t decide.
"You sound rather sure of that," He said, but his voice tightened almost inaudibly as if he were choking on the words because something in him didn't want to lie to you. As if something in him still cared. Maybe no one else would have noticed a thing like that, but you did, and you knew him too well to mistake what it meant.
"I am." You reached the kitchen and flicked on the lights, holding the phone with your shoulder so you could grab yourself a mug. "I know you don't call unless you want something." Raindrops tapped against the window over the sink and you leaned back against the counter, staring out at the world beyond. Your voice quieted to nearly a whisper, losing yourself in thought was one of your specialties. "I never had much to give you. But I would have given it - I always did. You just didn't trust me enough, you still don't…"
“You’re wrong,” He claimed. “You’re wrong about me.”
The corner of your lips twitched up in a wry smile. “What else is new?”
You could still remember his hands on you, crushing your arms in a vice-like grip. You remembered how terrified you were, fearing for more than just your life as those clear blue eyes that you loved so much turned black as pitch with rage.
You had been wrong to put your faith in him.
The memory made you shiver. You never would have survived Klaus' paranoid wrath if not for Elijah. He had saved you and you had been hiding ever since. It wasn't long after that before Klaus descended completely into madness.
Klaus sighed. "I do trust you," He promised.
"But not enough." You gave a tight-lipped smile, even though he couldn't see. Maybe especially because he couldn't.
"Well, now is too late," You muttered, teeth clenched. "It's about fifty years too late. So what do you want?"
"I was wrong, Y/N. I was wrong to doubt you. I see that now," He admitted.
"I know I wasn't-"
You cut him off. "No, Klaus." You shook your head. "Don't even start."
Klaus sighed. "If you would just listen-"
"I've listened before."
"Y/N-" The way he said your name made you want to give in, but you didn't have it in you to bear any more torment on his behalf.
"I'm not doing this again," You said firmly.
"It's different this time," He claimed. You could hear as he began to pace so you counted his steps, listening for the timbre of them to determine the size of the space he walked. Fourteen steps, but he always leaves one step length from him to any wall. The floor he paced across creaked softly with a tell-tail scraping you knew only came from intense sunlight and humidity. The windows of the room were open, and from outside came the sound of Jazz. He was in his studio, in the Abattoir, in New Orleans.
"Klaus, please-" You sighed, setting down your mug. "-just don't. I don't want to go through this again." He didn't listen, not that you expected him to.
"I know it's been far too long, but I've finally fixed things," He insisted, "I killed Mikael, I broke the bloody curse, and my siblings walk as free and bothersome as birds! You said-" He stopped, his voice tightening. "You said you'd come back - said you'd come home… Why do you stay away?"
"You know why," You sighed. "Face it. We're a chipped cup, Klaus. Not broken enough to mend - too bothersome to be used."
"But you've always been so good at mending things."
You closed your eyes and leaned your head back, fighting away tears. "Tell me what you want or I'm hanging up."
"Please, Y/N-"
"You have five seconds."
"Wait-"
"Five."
"Love, I'm not-"
"Four."
"Fine!" Klaus let go of another sigh. "I require your expertise and professional assistance here in New Orleans," He said, clearly put out with your mandate.
You raised a brow. "You are the antithesis to everything I work towards, in what possible situation could you require my help professionally?"
"Well, I seem to have gotten myself into a bit of trouble…" He trailed off and you could tell he was smiling. The meaning of his statement was pretty clear.
"Oh, I hate magic," You grumbled, pinching the bridge of your nose. "Is it a boy or a girl?"
Klaus just laughed. "Hayley, the mother, thinks it's a girl. Do you think you could spare the time?"
You frowned. "No."
"No?" He questioned. "I thought it was against your oath to refuse someone in need of aid."
"That's the thing, I don't believe you need me," You replied. "If you need a doctor, there are plenty in New Orleans."
"But none that I trust," He countered. "You are the best there is to be had in the field of medicine. It is your assistance that I want and yours alone that I need." He had a point. After all, how many other doctors would be able to handle the delivery of a magical miracle baby? You would guess very few, but add 'Mikaelson Friendly' to that requirements list and you really were just about the only choice. "I promise to keep all proceedings strictly professional, including payment if that's what you want.  I'll even give you that Monet you love so much," He offered.
You cursed under your breath. He knew you so well. "Deal."
***
You shoved open the doors of the Abattoir and strode to the center of the courtyard. The only person around was a young brunette who studied you with a cautious gaze. One whiff of the scent coming off her and you could tell she was a wolf, not that something so trivial bothered you, of course. Normally, you would have greeted her but you weren't here to socialize, you just wanted to get things over with so you could grab that Monet and go home. Despite the urgency that Klaus had insisted on over the phone, no one was waiting to greet you, so you did the only thing you could.
"YO! 'LIJAH! WHEREFORE ART THY REAR END?" You shouted into the depths of the house. You had always taken pride in your ability to shout obscenely loud when you wanted to.
"What the actual hell was that?" The wolf-girl asked, staring at you as if you were crazy. You smirked and shot her a wink. Of course, there was no real need to raise your voice seeing as the whole family had supernatural hearing, but it got your point across rather well and you had always enjoyed being a little bit obnoxious - it was just one of those little things that brought you immense joy, especially upon seeing Elijah's expression when he appeared at the top of the stairs a moment later.
"That, my dear Hayley, was a very old joke and an extremely effective method of garnering my attention," He said with a slight huff, sending you a reprehensive look. You wiggled your fingers in a little wave.
"Nice suit, braveheart."
Elijah's playfully annoyed expression melted into a fond smile as he reached the bottom of the stairs and opened his arms for a hug. You skipped over to him and wrapped your arms around his shoulders, being sure to give him a firm clap on the back. "It's a pleasure seeing you again, lítill heilari," He said.
"You too," You agreed.
"I've missed you every day." He pulled away, his dark eyes full of an older brother's concern. "For far too many days," He added. You bit your lip and looked away, nodding. "I called you for months yet you never answered. I feared Niklaus had, in his anger, found you and done something unfathomable…" He placed a hand on your shoulder, urging you to meet his gaze. You did and instantly felt guilt weighing on your heart. "You had me worried sick. Could you not have, at the very least, let me know you were alright?"
"I'm sorry, 'Lijah," You muttered, twisting your fingers together. "Really, I am. But I just- I needed time a-and a little space. I needed to sort things out."
"And did you?" He asked, raising a brow.
"Yeah." You nodded. "I'm a lot better."
"That's good to hear."
"So am I forgiven?" You asked with a tentative smile.
Elijah chuckled. "Of course, lítill heilari."
"Alright!" You grinned, rubbing your hands together eagerly. "Where's my next victim!"
The wolf-girl's eyes flew as wide as saucers and she took a step away from you, clearly disturbed. Elijah just rolled his eyes at your usual antics, wrapping a comforting arm around the girl's shoulders before she could run for the hills.
"This lovely young woman is Miss. Hayley Marshall of the Crescent Wolf Pack here in New Orleans, she's the reason Niklaus requested your help," He said.
You rolled your eyes at the mention of your ex but extended your hand to the brunette. "Guten Tag, Fräulein halbmondwolf. Ich bin Y/N. Wie geht es dir und was ist deine Lieblingskäsesorte?" You asked in your mother tongue.
"Is she, uh… Is she threatening me or saying hello?" Hayley asked under her breath. "I didn't take German in high school. Is that German? It sounds like German…"
Elijah sighed, shaking his head. "Hayley, this eccentric woman is Y/N Y/LN. She asked after your wellbeing, and your favorite type of cheese," He informed her.
"Oh." She nodded and glanced back at you wearily. "Well, like he said I'm Hayley Marshall, um, I'm doing alright, I guess - as well as I can, all things considered…" Elijah nodded, urging her to continue. "And, uh, I guess my favorite type of cheese is probably - I dunno - Cheddar?"
"Really?" You wondered. "You look like more of a parmesan girl to me, but alright." You shrugged. "Fyi, I speak perfect English, but I totally forgot the word for cheese just now and I do that quite a lot, so be ready. But hey, it works out 'cause I like to know my patients and I like them to know me. So now I know you have very American tastebuds and you know my native language, we're cool!"
Hayley blinked. "O-okay… and you're sure you're a doctor?" She asked, swallowing deeply.
"Uh-huh, yeah." You grinned at her but her apprehension didn't fade. In fact, if not for Elijah, you were pretty sure she would have taken another step back.
"Y/N," Elijah said with a warning in his tone. "Quit trying to frighten the poor woman." He turned to the wolf, speaking reassuringly. "I assure you, Hayley, although her bedside manner is deplorable, you will not find a being more qualified to assist in your situation than Dr. Y/L/N. She's been practicing medicine since the field was invented-"
"And before, actually!" You chimed in.
"- and before," He agreed, nodding. "I know you do not trust my brother's judgment, but you can trust me when I say that this woman is one of the finest I've had the pleasure of knowing and that she would die before letting the slightest harm come to you or your child."
She pursed her lips and glanced up at you as if for confirmation, moving her hand to rest absentmindedly over her slightly rounded belly.
You dropped a wink and nodded, but kept your tone soft and reassuring. "Yeah, I know. I'm just awesome like that." Then you turned back to Elijah, frowning slightly. "Speaking of your family, where are blond one and blonde two?"
"Nik's out - thought that might be best, so you're welcome. I broke a nail trying to force him out the door," A voice declared upon entering. Your eyes were drawn to Rebekah's impeccable fashion sense as she strolled through a door on your right.
"Hey, Bex." You grinned. "Nice shoes."
"Thanks," She preened. "I'd say the same, except you're wearing Crocs."
You shrugged. "They're comfy."
"They're a crime is what they are," Rebekah scoffed, rolling her eyes. Then she smiled. "Hey, Y/N/N."
Your own smile faltered. "Minus the big bad wolf, I just- I can't believe this is really everybody." You sighed. "I know I never met him, but I'm really sorry about Finn. A-and then when I - when I heard about Kol…" You shook your head, biting your lip. "I-I was devastated. I'm so sorry, you guys."
Rebekah glanced away and her older brother just nodded, trying to smile. "As am I, dearest Y/N. I know how close the two of you were, and I regret not making the effort to inform you of his unfortunate passing in person, but events got out of hand rather quickly and required my attention."
You frowned, narrowing your eyes. "Don't say that."
He raised a brow. "What?"
"Don't say that," You repeated. "Don't say 'unfortunate passing' as if it was some sort of accident. He was murdered, Elijah. Kol was murdered. My best friend, your little brother, was murdered, and not only did I have to hear about that through the grapevine, but imagine my surprise when I found out that you guys didn't do a flipping thing about it! I mean, if not for my Hippocratic oath, I would have beat the responsible party to a pulp."
"Y/N-" Rebekah started. You cut her off.
"No! I'm not finished, this goes for you too, Bex. I wasn't intending on this, but it really wouldn't be a reunion if I wasn't lecturing you guys about something, so buckle the frick up and get ready."
The siblings shared a glance and nodded before turning their attention back to you.
"What the hell guys?" You demanded, moving your hands to your hips. "I'm gone for all of - what's it been, 50 years? - and everything goes to actual waschbärkot! I mean, I know Kol was a right nasty piece of work sometimes, but he is - was - still your brother! When we met you guys, you were everything Axel and I ever wanted. Yeah, life sucked and nobody bathed, but you guys found the happiness you could. You guys worked together, you sang together, you played together, you laughed together! You guys were a family!"
You remembered those days, they felt like so long ago.
Present Day Poland, 1322
You barreled down the dim corridor, heart pounding, legs pumping, the folds of your dress whipping around your ankles as you dashed after your brother at full speed. "AXEL!" You hollered, grinding your teeth. "GIVE IT BACK, YOU WEASEL!"
Your younger brother by a mere fourteen minutes glanced over his shoulder and cackled, out of breath but still laughing like the fiendish scoundrel he was. "Oh, you want this, do you?" He called back to you, waving the simple bracelet of woven cord over his head. "Come and get it!"
"AXEL! I WILL BITE OFF YOUR TOES!" You shrieked.
"Better do it quick then-" He taunted, ducking through another tight turn. "-else I'll give it to Kol!"
"AXEL!" You whined. He had gotten a head start, it wasn't fair. "Niklaus gave that to me!"
Your brother merely laughed and dashed down another servant's corridor. You followed and gasped at the ray of sunlight shining at the end of the hall. Axel sprinted towards it as fast as he could, knowing what waited beyond. You growled and pushed yourself to move faster. Bursting from the hall and into the blinding afternoon light of the castle grounds, you made a mad grab for Axel's shirt but he skipped just out of your reach. You stumbled and tripped over the hem of your dress, landing in the grass. While you recovered, Axel raced for where a dark-haired boy sat reading a book with the rest of his family about twenty paces away.
"Kol!" He shouted.
"What the- Ouch!" The boy lifted his head only to get hit in the face when your brother tossed him the stolen bracelet. Axel reached him and grabbed his wrist, pulling him up and shoving him forward. You got to your feet and started towards them.
"AXEL! DON'T YOU DARE!"
"She's angry! Take it and run!" He laughed.
Kol glanced back at you and a grin spread across his face. "Oh dear, Y/N. It would be a shame if this little trinket were to - shall we say - inexplicably end up at the bottom of the lake…" He jeered.
"No!" You cried. "Give it back!"
"Catch me if you can!" He called. He turned on his heel and took off running. You knew he wasn't going anywhere close to as fast as he could, he was just playing with you.
"Rebekah!" You whined, striding up to her seat. "They're teaming up on me!"
"Come now, Kol," His sister warned, hardly even looking up from her book. "Give the bracelet back or I'll pummel you with my shoe."
"Never!"
She turned back to you and shrugged. "Forgive me, Y/N. I tried," She said, holding back a laugh.
You huffed, turning to the next family member. "Niklaus, Axel took my bracelet and now he and your knave of a brother refuse to give it back," You said, giving him your best doe-eyes. He would give in, he always had.
Niklaus and his family had strolled through the mighty gates of Ordensburg Marienburg when you and your twin brother were nearing the end of your fifteenth summer. The two of you had lived within the towering walls of the castle-fortress for as long as you could remember, serving first as indentured servants and later as apprentices to the palace healer. You had never strayed from the grounds nor seen the world that lived just beyond the fortress walls, so the arrival of such strangers fascinated you. It was a rather dreary day, thus you and Axel had been assigned to stoke the fires roundabout the castle - a task which granted you a decent view of the unexpected guests. Rebekah had caught you watching from the window and had waved, an act which surprised you as you and Axel were merely servants and thus went largely ignored by the lords and ladies that visited. However, it was the man standing next to her that caught your eye. There was something strange about him that made you curious - curious enough to follow him through the castle for days via the servant's tunnels. It wasn't long before he caught onto you and you used those ever-effective doe-eyes to plead for his forgiveness. He hadn't hit you as you had expected, instead, he had laughed and even introduced you to his siblings.
Years had passed and you had grown rather close to all of them. Yet it was still Klaus who you were most interested in. He painted the most spectacular pictures of a world you had never seen - places far beyond the castle walls. After finishing your chores, you would sit for hours just to watch him paint. You were nineteen now and had successfully managed to keep your admiration of him a secret, or so you thought.
Niklaus looked up with a fond smile. "Would you like me to get it back for you?"
"Yes, please." You giggled.
"Very well." He stood and pressed an endearing kiss to your forehead before flashing you a grin and moving to pursue. "KOL! GET BACK HERE!" He sprinted across the lawn and grabbed his brother by the legs. Kol crashed to the ground with a yelp, laughing as he called out for Axel's help to escape. After a solid five minutes of pushing and tripping one another, Klaus finally managed to pin both your brother and his, wrestling the bracelet from Kol's grip.
"Thank you, Nik," You said, holding your hand out for the trinket. A mischievous smile spread across his face.
"Oh, I wouldn't thank me yet, love. I worked rather hard to get this back… I think I might just have to keep it." He smirked and you narrowed your eyes at him. "Looks like you shall just have to catch me if you want it back."
Then he too took off with your bracelet.
"You are all unscrupulous animals!" You laughed, chasing after him. All supernatural enhancements aside, Klaus still had a significant advantage over you seeing as his legs were much longer. He was teasing you, allowing you to come within reach before dancing away just as you dove to snatch the bracelet.
"Nearly there, love!" He laughed, holding the keepsake just out of your reach. Your attempts clearly weren't working; it was time to change things up. You went for his legs, grappling his knees and shoving him to the side with your shoulder. Clearly not used to his own strategies being used against him, he cried out in surprise and fell to the ground.
You barked a laugh and dove for the bracelet again. "Give." You straddled his waist in an attempt to keep him down, swatting his arm as he tried to push you away. "That." You seized his wrist and pulled it towards you, using all your strength against none of his. "Back!"
Klaus stopped moving and you froze, glancing up. He grinned, then the world flipped and you were the one lying in the grass. He smiled down at you with a playful glint in his eyes, and now that you could compare them, you found that his eyes really were the same bright shade as the sky above. You gasped sharply as he pinned your wrists above your head, smirking with the smugness of a very satisfied wolf while allowing the bracelet to dangle from his finger tauntingly. You didn't even look at it, your mind was rather preoccupied with the compromising position in which you had suddenly found yourself. Though you had always been content to admire his stunning features from afar, you had never guessed you might be blessed with the opportunity to admire him up close. Especially not this close.
"Dirty pull, love," He chuckled. All you could do was nod, eyes wide and thoughts racing. He leaned down, his lips brushing against your ear. "I like it. But you'll have to be faster than that."
He rolled off of you and dashed away again, leaving you stunned and unable to move. Until you heard a loud wolf whistle from Axel followed by a string of profanity from Kol.
"If this keeps up I'll have another brother by the end of the month!" Rebekah exclaimed.
"Ah, Lord Axel… I quite like the sound of that," Your brother said, elbowing her.
She rolled her eyes. "Y/N, please refrain from marrying Nik!" She called out. "Not that I wouldn't love to have you as a sister, but your brother is a scoundrel and the last thing this family needs is another Kol in it."
Your cheeks burned at their teasing and you quickly stood up, brushing yourself off.
"As if anyone could replace me," Kol scoffed.
"Of course we could never replace you, brother," Elijah said, finally joining the conversation. "Your ego takes up far too expansive a space for anyone else to fill."
You tuned them out and focused on trying to find where Niklaus had run off to with your bracelet. Your eyes scanned the grounds but found no sign of him.
A sharp whistle sounded from a far way to your right, and you whipped your head towards the sound. There, balancing atop the fortress's towering wall, stood Niklaus, smirking at you challengingly. You cast a worried glance from the castle to its massive wall, debating your next choice. It was against palace rules for servants or apprentices to leave the castle grounds without explicit permission, on the other hand, you despised losing with a passion. That was one thing you loved about Klaus, he was always challenging you to keep up.
Against your better judgment, you scanned the area for anyone who might squeal before closing your eyes to focus. Backing up a couple of steps, you ran and leaped into the air. Getting the timing right was the hardest part, but you whispered the incantation Kol had taught you just as you reached the apex of your jump. The air around you swirled akin to a horse spurred into motion and you shot into the air, landing atop the wall a moment later.
Klaus stood a few feet away from you, a little bit dumbfounded. You smirked at him.
"Did Kol teach you that?" He asked, smiling with what you hoped was pride for your accomplishment.
"Yes, but for once I mastered it before Axel did." Your brother was always more adept with magic than you were. He was a quick study in just about anything, really.
"That is spectacular, love," Klaus complemented. You beamed. "I do, however, have another question."
"Yes?"
"How do you plan to get down?"
You shook the memory away and sniffed, wiping at a tear as it slid down your cheek.
"Where did that family go? Why did you guys turn your backs on eachother so completely? Because you disagreed?" You asked. You truly didn't understand, holding grudges just wasn't in your nature. You turned to the blond.
"Bekah, do you remember when you would go out into the fields around Ordensburg and pick flowers all day long, because those were the most beautiful flowers you'd ever seen?"
"Yes," She nodded quietly, blinking away tears. "I especially loved the violets."
You smiled. "And do you remember when you'd come back in the evening and sit in front of the fire while Kol braided those violets into your hair so you'd look that much more beautiful dancing that night?" She nodded again, and you turned to her older brother. "And Elijah, don't you remember the hours you and Kol spent translating Norse to German just so you two could perform that ridiculous song for my birthday? Axel and I laughed so hard we almost passed out! I mean, Nick actually had to-" You caught the looks on their faces at the mention of the hybrid. You stopped and sighed, shaking your head. The past was the past and you needed to remember that.
"Look, I know what Niklaus did to you guys - I know he's just been getting worse. But that's his problem, it's on him. It's not on you, it's on him! You can't allow his actions to ruin you and your relationship as brother and sister, because I don't know if you've noticed, but you're all you got now. You only get one family, that's it! When it's gone, it's gone!" You closed your eyes and lowered your head. "Please, meine liebsten freunde… Elijah, Rebekah, please, I'm begging you, please just cherish each other. Take care of one another, please. I-I've already-" You sucked in a breath, blinking rapidly to stop the tears from falling. "I've already lost Axel - I already lost my family - don't make me lose you too."
When you finished, Rebekah immediately tackled you in a very teary hug. "We love you too, Y/N!" She said, half crying and half laughing.
"You bet your pants, you do," You mumbled, trying to cover the fact that you'd been bawling your eyes out.
"All of the things from Kol's room are in the attic if you'd like to go through them," Elijah offered, clearing his throat. "I'm sure there's some things he'd like you to have."
"Thanks, 'Lijah." You nodded, sending him a small smile. "But business first. Poor Hayley's been standing here looking like an elementary schooler watching their friend's parents fight." You eyed the wolf with an apologetic smile. "Sorry, bout' that."
She waved her hand. "It's fine."
"Oh good." You clapped your hands. "Now then! Everybody who isn't carrying the person-equivalent of a Zonkey can leave."
Rebekah rolled her eyes and gave you one last hug. "I've missed you, Y/N."
"Me too, Bex." You laughed. "Now get out of here before I make you!" She and Elijah left, going back to their respective activities and you rounded on Hayley. "Ready?"
"Not really," She admitted.
"It's just a physical and a check up, you'll be fine!" You reassured her. "I promise I won't even use the leeches this time."
The girl threw her head back and laughed as you guided her to sit down before pulling out a blood pressure cuff and a stethoscope out of your bag along with an assortment of vials and needles. Hayley's eyes fell on the needles and she stiffened, eyeing them with fear. You were quick to notice this and squeezed her hand comfortingly.
"Scared of needles?" You asked.
"No," She said, shaking her head. "I just… really don't like them."
"Yeah, sorry but I am gonna have to draw a bit of blood. But don't be embarrassed about it, fräulein. Needles freak me out too." You chuckled.
"But… you're a doctor?"
"Uh huh."
"A-and a vampire…"
"Ja."
Hayley shook her head, raising a brow. "So how-"
You grinned at her. "Back in my day, we didn't have needles," You joked, shrugging. "It was an irrational fear when needles were introduced; yet, that fear has become no less irrational over time and I have become no less afraid."
"Speaking of being irrational…" She raised a brow at you pointedly.
"What?" You asked, wrapping the blood pressure cuff around her arm.
"You and Klaus?" She pressed.
You glanced up, surprised. "Was it that obvious?"
"Nah - I mean, it was but Rebekah told me before you got here."
"Wait a second, what did she say?" You asked, raising a weary brow. This could either be really good or really bad.
"I think she called you, uh, 'The Ex To End All Ex's' or something like that?" Hayley admitted a little sheepishly.
You snorted. "Okay, wow. That's… I mean it definitely explains why you were so skittish! Bekah over here just casually making me sound like World War One." You shook your head, grinning. "You probably thought I was some sort of psycho!"
"You kind of are," She pointed out, chuckling.
"True," You agreed. "Yeah, Klaus and I were a thing for a long time."
"I got that part," Hayley said. "But I just… How? How does someone like - well, just - like you fall in love with someone like him?"
"Someone like me? Is that a compliment or an insult?" You wondered. You honestly couldn't tell.
The wolf's eyes widened a little and she shook her head frantically. "No, no! It's a compliment!"
You narrowed your eyes playfully. "You sure? 'Cause I hate to say it but…" You eyed her belly pointedly.
Hayley's cheeks reddened. "Oh, hell no! Klaus and I aren't… We-we aren't-"
"I gotcha, fräulein. I see stuff like this every day, and chef don't judge-" You waved a hand and smirked. "-however, you and Elijah giving each other heart-eyes all over the place is kinda hard to miss."
The wolf looked like someone out of a cartoon with how her jaw dropped almost to the floor. You giggled as she attempted to compose herself. “I-I just meant that you-you’re so…”
“Charming? Witty? Adorable?”
Hayley shook her head. “Kind,” She murmured. “You’re kind, a-and generous but it’s not… It’s not like it’s an act for you - sometimes from Elijah, it feels like an act - but not you. With you, it’s warm an-and real. But Klaus he-” She stopped and bit her lip, looking up at you with a worried expression. “You seem like the sort of person he would tear to shreds.”
“And he did.” You stopped what you were doing and looked up at her with a kind smile. "Can I tell you a story?" You asked.
Haley nodded and you smiled, getting back to work and talking as you did.
"My twin brother Axel and I were born in 1317 in the walled fortress-city of Ordensburg Marienburg in what’s now Poland. My mother died in childbirth and my father of plauge not seven summers later. When we were old enough to understand why our parents died, we vowed to save as many others as we could. The palace physician was a friend of our father’s and we apprintaced under him for many years. Axel and I were good at our jobs and we were happy, people said we had a gift. It wasn’t until Klaus and his family arrived that me and my brother discovered that we were, in fact, witches. We were merely fourteen summers at the time and clearly no threat, so seeing as we couldn't be compelled, the Mikaelsons became our protectors of sorts - our friends…”
Poland, 1322
“Your brother is intolorable,” You huffed, throwing yourself down onto a cushioned sofa in the room Niklaus had long since claimed as his studio. If you had done a thing like that before the Mikaelson’s had claimed you as a friend, you probably would have been beaten.
“Generally, yes, but such is the nature of being Kol.” Klaus glanced at you over his shoulder and smirked before resuming his painting. “What’s he done now?”
“He helped Axel jinx my comb,” You grumbled.
“Am I to assume by your tone that you can’t reverse the charm?” He hummed, touching up some details on a spectacular depiction of what he called Aurora Borialis. At the bottom of the painting, you could catch a glimpse of sleek grey fur. You sighed; he was painting wolves again.
“It’s not my fault that the counter curse is infinitely more difficult than the original charm!” You exclaimed, tossing your hands in the air. “Why is Axel so much more gifted at magic than I?”
Klaus chuckled slightly and slipped his paintbrush into pitcher of water resting on the table beside him. He moved to sit beside you, wrapping an arm around your shoulders. “I may not be able to answer that with assurity, however, your brother cannot tell the difference between peppermint and poison oak. You would do well to remember that,” He said. You blushed and looked away.
“Thank you,” You said. “Your artwork is beautiful as always.”
He leaned in and kissed your cheek. “Not as beautiful as you.”
“Klaus was different back then,” You sighed. “They all were. He made the most beautiful pictures of places I'd never seen and I liked just sitting and watching him paint. Although I was young, I could see the sadness he carried. We didn't talk much at the beginning - I think he found me annoying - but years passed and that changed. I was twenty when he told me about his life, about how he felt trapped within his own skin, about how ashamed he felt regarding his mother's infidelity, about how terrified he was that his siblings might one day decide to leave him behind because of that, and about his father who was hunting them all like animals. They didn't deserve that."
You shook your head to yourself and huffed a laugh.
"I knew what he was,” You told Hayley. “I just didn’t care. I've always seen the best in people, it's just who I am, and in him I saw the artist of those beautiful pictures of places I'd never seen. I saw a person who had a lot of love to give, a person who was trying really hard to find his place in the world outside the ones he painted, and I fell in love with him. We were happy… for a while anyway."
"What happened then?" Hayley asked softly, leaning forward in her seat. Your eyes darkened and your expression turned grim.
"Mikael came."
Poland, 1322
There had been no warning.
By the time you realized what was happening, it was already too late. People were screaming, some were dead, and your home was on fire. You dashed though the halls, searching desprately for Klaus - for anyone. The ceiling of the castle’s grand halls were falling apart as vicious flames turned mighty wood to ash. Yet, you couldn’t give up searching for the family you had found. To heavy for the damaged timbers to hold, you heard the creaking before you felt the iron chandelier crush your spine. There are no words to describe the pain you felt as you lay in the dark, choking on smoke and blood. You called out for Klaus to help you. You had thought he would come.
You were wrong.
It wasn’t Niklaus who found you. Kol found you first. He threw the chandelier off you and healed your broken body with his blood.
He told you to go find Axel. He told you to run. You could still hear his words in your dreams even after all this time.
"Y/N, listen to me! Go find your brother. You go find your brother and you run. Run as fast as you can and don't look back. Don't you dare look back and don't you dare follow us. You just keep running, little witch - just keep on running until your legs give out and you can take not another step. Run and forget about me, forget about Klaus, forget about all of us. Run and look after yourself for once in your life. Run and feel the grass beneath your feet, the wind in your hair, and the sun on your face. Run and live your life the way you wish and if my father finds you, then don't you go without a fight. You fight to your very last breath, and one day I'll see you on Valhalla's golden shores."
Then he had disappeared into the fire and smoke. You should have done as he'd told you. But you had followed after Klaus and you had stayed far too long.
You shook your head, thoughts of the past filling you with nostalgia and longing. "When I found Axel, he had already been torn to shreds. I had no one, so I used a tracking spell and followed Klaus and his family. I stayed with them, Klaus turned me and the rest, as they say, is history."
"The way you talk about them…" Hayley shook her head. "They sound like completely different people - like good people."
You nodded. "They were just that, Fräulein. They were young, innocent people that bad things happened to and they all dealt with it in their own way. Nik became obsessed with breaking his curse, Elijah couldn't let go, Kol was too good at letting go, and Bekah… well, Bekah just gave all her love away and kept none for herself. One thousand years is a long time to hurt, Hayley. I don't think you fathom how long that is. See, Klaus was different back then - kind and trusting -" You shrugged. "- but people change."
Haley nodded. "Rebekah told me… Hunter's Curse, right?"
"Just one of many, many things," You sighed.
"So why did you stay?" She asked.
"I shouldn't have," You admitted. "I should have run. If I had known then what I know now - if I had known what Niklaus would become - I would have run away. I would have run and never looked back, I would have run and felt the grass beneath my feet, and the wind in my hair, and the sun on my face. I would have run and lived my life the way I wished and one day come to rest with my brother by my side, feeling the sand between my toes as we watched the sun set over Valhalla's golden shores."
Klaus had ruined that life for you, he had ruined a lot of lives and you found yourself wishing you had never even met him. Because the fact was, you still loved him, even if you wished you didn't.
"But that doesn't answer my question," Hayley pressed. "Why did you stay?"
You sighed, pulling the needle out of her arm - she hadn't even noticed.
"I stayed because I'm a healer and I live to mend things. But Klaus and I - we're a chipped cup. Not broken enough to mend - too bothersome to be used."
"You're still not over him, are you?" Hayley asked tenderly.
You smiled but there was more pain in it than anything else.
"I don't think I ever will be." You had come to terms with that. "Word of advice, Hayley?"
"What?"
"Run while you can."

Hooked
introduction pt. i | pt. ii | pt. iii
ch. li - !!!! FAVORITISM !!!!

??? × reader, ateez × reader
A freshman hookup rekindled into something new. With an incentive, of course. But what would happen if your 'relationship' led you somewhere you never thought would happen to you ?
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
The date Yunho set was coming to an end. You both walked hand-in-hand along the side of Han River, just talking about nothing specific.
"Did you have fun today?" He asked, swinging both of your intertwined hands together while displaying a goofy grin on his face. You bit your bottom lip shyly but nod at him, "yeah, I definitely had fun today," you leaned up and press a soft kiss on Yunho's cheek, "thank you, Yunho," you said, blushing slightly.
Yunho stared at you with wide eyes at the sudden impact. Seeing the look on Yunho's face made you giggle and swat at his arm playfully, "you dork, how can a peck on the cheek affect you so much? You've seen me naked!" you exclaimed.
"yeah but we've never been on a real one-on-one date before," Yunho pouted as he wrapped his arms around your waist. He led you to the bench nearby and sat down, pulling you down next to him.
A smile adorned your face and to Yunho, it was the most beautiful smile he had ever seen. His pout melts away as one of his hands snaked to your shoulder to play with your hair. "You're so freaking beautiful," he said, eyes staring deep into your own.
The compliment made you blush hard and you tried to look away from him. But Yunho whined and held your face still, "no! Don't look away, I want to stare at your face forever," he said.
You couldn't help but giggle at him. Your hands cupped his face and stroke it lovingly, "you're awfully cuddly, clingy and lovey-dovey today, what's up?" you questioned.
With lips pursed, Yunho initially shrugged, "nothing, I just... I really like spending time with you," you raised an eyebrow at him, "Yunho..." you called out.
Suddenly, his eyes lit up, "Hey, let's dance!" he exclaimed. Your eyes widened and you scoffed at him, "what, here? Out in the open? Without music?" you looked around the place to see it quite deserted but there were still some joggers passing by and even some people sitting down on the grassy area not far.
But Yunho completely ignored your protest as he put on Nat King Cole's "L.O.V.E" from his phone on full blast and pulled you up with him. You squealed loudly when he began pulling you and twirling you around as he pleased. Though soon, you seemed to enjoy the silly impromptu dancing you both were doing.
You couldn't help but giggle when Yunho twirled you out only to pull you back into his arms, happily laughing at how you looked before he wrapped his arms around your waist. He dropped his chin on your shoulder as you both swayed to the music, just enjoying the feeling of the other against you.
"That wasn't as dorky as I thought it would be," you admitted to him, making him chuckle and peck the side of your head.
Yunho shifted his gaze from the river to your side profile. The way you looked under the moonlight, with the soft night breeze caressing your hair and the twinkle that matched the stars in your eyes. He couldn't hold it much longer. He had to let you know. But what would your reaction be? Are you in the same place as him, feelings-wise? Have you even thought about love or going further with him and/or them all? What would he be sacrificing if it turns out that you don't feel the same way as him?
A hundred million thoughts and scenarios ran through his head within milliseconds. With the way his chest is pressed onto your back, you could feel his rapid heartbeat,
It wasn't until you turned around to ask him what's wrong that Yunho finally broke, your eyes pierced his and pushed the truth out of him.
"I love you," he blurted out.
Your eyes widened slightly in surprise. It wasn't a bad, panic-y surprise but it was just a general surprise. But seeing your eyes widened even by a mere half a millimetre Yunho immediately panic.
"I-I'm sorry," he choked out.
You furrowed your eyebrows at him in confusion, "what are you saying sorry for, Yunho? I-" before you could finish your sentence, Yunho cut you off by turning you around and cupping your face. The pads of his thumb pressed against your lips so softly that the corners curled up automatically.
He took a deep breath before continuing, "I... I love you, okay? That is clear to me for a while and I don't wanna sound like a cliche, but the night we have sex at the practice room confirmed my feelings," he stated. You raised an eyebrow at him, wordlessly questioning him. He scrunched his nose and cringed, "yeah, I know how that sounds. I wish I could tell you a better, more romantic story but I wanna be honest with you," his face blushed as he confessed.
Seeing that you were just staying silent for his sake, Yunho felt slightly better as he realized that you were giving him a chance to talk and that you weren't showing any bad reactions.
Involuntarily, Yunho's thumb began tracing your bottom lip as his eyes stared deeply into your soul, "You don't have to say anything now, okay? You take as much time as you want, you make your decision. I know you've said the word 'I love you' to me and the others a lot of times but I know that those didn't mean the same way as what I'm saying right now. I just want you to know how I feel because I am genuinely, deeply in love with how amazing you are as a person, your beautiful soul, and your ridiculously ridonkulous ass," he stated.
At the last statement, you couldn't help but blush and giggle, slightly embarrassed yet wholly flattered by his words. You threw a weak hit at his chest to which he replied by taking a hold of your hand with his and hold him against his chest where his heart is.
"This is yours if you want it, okay? I will give you all of me if you want me to and when you're ready to make your decision," he smiled gently at you.
In all honesty, you would've probably squealed or even bawled just by his words. But seeing as you are in a fairly public place, you opt to grab his face and pull it down to yours, kissing him deeply.
Yunho could feel the feelings you were conveying through the kiss. The way you told him that you're not quite there yet, but you're going in the right way, that he has nothing to fear and to only be secure with you. To simply be patient for when you're ready to give yourself to him and the boys.
As his lips parted with yours, a goofy grin appeared on his face, "I love you," he muttered against your lips.
You replied simply by giving him another peck on his lips, making him giggle in delight.
"Okay, baby, it's late and we gotta go home," he said as he interlaced his hand with yours and walked you both towards where he parked his car.
As you both walked, you couldn't help but stare at how Yunho looked. Maybe it was the confession he made not two minutes ago, maybe it was just the atmosphere. Or maybe it's something you've realized long ago but is just too afraid to admit due to uncertainty.
But now, you can say for sure that your feelings for him are becoming clearer. You only hoped you'd be able to tell him soon.

Baby’s First Christmas
Summary: Enjoying Baby’s First Christmas with Bonnie, John, & Isaiah.
A/N: Request by @peakyrogers  , hope you enjoy! Happy New Year! Wishing you the best this year!
Tumblr media
Bonnie: 6m (Son)
It was the big day in the Gold household. It was Aiden's first Christmas. You and Bonnie loved the holiday and always decorated your home accordingly. It was even more fun now that you had your son with you both. You took photos at the beginning of the month and made homemade Christmas cards for your family and friends. You were putting the last sock on your son’s foot before you heard the doorbell ring and loud shouts coming from the door.
You watch as your son’s eyes jump open even wider at the noises.
“I think our family is here to visit Aiden.” You laugh at him before bringing him into your arms, kissing the top of his head.
“If it isn’t the spitting image of my son or what?” Aberama throws his hands toward you as you come down the stairs. You hand your son over to his grandfather, going to stand next to Bonnie.
“I think so more and more everyday” You respond but with looking Bonnie straight in his eyes as he gives you a warm smile. You give him a chaste kiss enjoying the feeling of his lips on yours.
“Eww, enough you two. You already have one here for the party, wait until we leave to start cracking at number two.” His sister speaks, taking your son out his grandfather’s arms moving to sit on the couch next to the tree.
“Let’s open some presents.”  Aberama speaks.
You take a seat on the floor by the tree and help Bonnie pass out presents one by one. Everyone takes turns opening them and you sit your son down and help him open a few presents but he enjoyed the paper more.
“At least he’s having fun love.” Bonnie speaks as your son squeals in delight at the paper he’s playing with. As the day progressed with dinner, sweets, and hot chocolate. The baby went to bed on time but you and Bonnie went to bed way past your bedtime too busy talking off the sugar rush from the day.
John: 9m (Daughter)
“Miss Emerson, I think you’re almost ready!” John cheers as your nine month old daughter is standing up holding on to the table in front of her bounce on her small feet, as he sits behind her encouraging her movements.
“John, let the poor girl rest. You’ve been at it all week, yeah. Can’t tire her out before presents and on the night before her first Christmas at that hun.” You bend down to give him a kiss, feeling the cool metal of his rings brush against your skin as he tries to deepen it.
“You better behave or you won’t get your present from Santa.” You playfully smack his chest as he licks his lips.
“I called and talked to Santa today personally myself. Do you want to know what he said?” He says in a cocky tone with the smirk to match.
“What did Santa tell you Mr.Shelby?” You humor him right back, enjoying teasing each other.
“He told me you were on the naughty list and I was free to punish you.” His warm breath whispers into the shell of your ear.
“Well, if that’s true. I’ll be ready at a more suitable hour and I'll accept whatever punishment there is to offer. But for now we have a bedtime story and cookies that need to be laid out. So I need you to wrangle the crew for hot chocolate and remind Katie to bring the book down.”
“That’s a lot of things to do.”
“Well I'm sure you can make due.” You kiss him quick before going off to the kitchen to start the first batch of hot chocolate, while John took Emerson and went upstairs to get the rest of the children who were playing together.
Soon enough you were dropping Emerson in her crib and John was handling the other three. You went back downstairs to find your husband sipping on Santa’s whiskey and eating the first of quite a few cookies on the plate.
“We have some quick cleaning to do and then we can enjoy the rest of our evening alone Father Christmas.” You speak pouring your own small glass of whiskey and enjoy a cookie as John stared at you with total lust. It wasn’t long before you tangled in his arms as the moonlight glistened through the windows.
-
It felt like it wasn’t much longer until the sun was peeking through the windows and the thumps of footsteps and loud whispers were heard as the door was creaking open with your rambunctious children.
“Merry Christmas.” You hear your son Avery speak as your eyes meet his and help lift him onto the bed as Katie and John do the same until the whole crew is in your bed which wasn’t an uncommon occurrence in your home.
“Can we open our presents?” Robert, your second son asks John as he sits in between you two as Emerson is sitting on John’s chest.
“Yes, but everyone needs to make sure they brush their teeth and wash their face first. Then go downstairs and we’ll be down in a couple of minutes.” He speaks with a soft but serious tone as the children cheer rushing off to do as they were told.
“Merry Christmas Dad.” You kiss John’s cheek. “Happy first Christmas to my sweet girl.” You say to Emerson who was babbling to herself as she sat on the bed between you and John.
“Merry Christmas doll. Let's get ready for the day, got loads to do today.” He takes Emerson getting up and grabbing his robe off the chair. You follow suit getting yourself freshened up as John takes care of Emerson’s needs. You make it down stairs before them and watch as your kids chat among themselves about what Santa might have gotten them. John and Emerson come two minutes later and he lets the kids begin opening their presents as you go to heat Emerson a bottle to eat while her siblings open presents.
She eats content on the couch as John helps the children. When she’s done eating, you sit her on the floor by the tree next to John who helps her open her presents. It’s the cutest sight really, watching the man you love interact with all your children. He had his own love and devotion toward them, but he would always have a face of softness reserved for them only.
Once breakfast is finished and the kids are content in the living room playing with their toys as a Christmas movie plays in the background, John was back in his usual spot with Emerson trying to get her to walk yet again.
“Love I think she finally has it. Switch spots with me.” He speaks with excitement in his voice.
“Come on Emery. Come to daddy.” He cheers, clapping his hands and holding them open for her as you begin helping her walk the small length until she takes off on her own for just a few steps before falling into John’s lap.
“See, I knew you could do it! I told your mummy so!” He lifts her into the air kissing her cheeks as she laughs from the attention. You couldn’t be any happier on Christmas day than to be surrounded by your big beautiful family.
Isaiah: 11ms (twins girl and boy)
“Love we have to get going or we’re going to be late to mass and my dad will have our heads.” Your husband of five years stresses to you as you finish putting on your heeled boots.
“Alright, I’m almost ready. Get the kids in their car seats and I’ll help you bring them to the car okay?” You look up at him to see him give you a small smile knowing that you weren’t the cause of his stress but his father who asked him to give the opening and closing prayer to the service. He simply leaves the room to go back to your fraternal twins. You check your purse to make sure you have everything and the diaper bag as well. You zip up your coat and grab the bags making your way down stairs to see your husband at the door with both babies in their car seats wide awake.
“The doors on the car are open but be careful it’s a little slippery out.” He gives you your son, Leon, to take to the passenger side of the backseat while he takes your daughter, pearl, to the other half. Once everyone was strapped in, he began the short drive to the church. You would arrive just in time to grab your seats and for Isaiah to see his dad who looked like he breathed a sigh of relief when he saw you all walk through the door.
The service goes by pretty quickly with the songs, message, children play, and then lighting of the candles. You find yourselves talking with the congregation and Jeremiah to remind what time to come for presents and breakfast in the morning. You were headed back home because it was way past the kids bedtime. When you get in, you change them and place them down for the night. You and Isaiah took a quick shower together and made love in bed before falling asleep.
-
The next morning you found yourself at the tree with Isaiah and your twins in a circle at the tree as Jeremiah watched from the couch with a huge smile on his face. You watched as the twins took turns opening their presents to the best of their abilities and getting excited at the mess the wrapping paper was creating. Shoving every little toy in your face as it was revealed to them so they knew that you saw it.
“I have a special gift for you!” Isaiah hands you a box and you open it to see two tickets and a new silk dress.
“This is too much Isaiah. You’re too good to me.”
“That’s not all and we’ll be spending a three day weekend in London too, just the two of us. Dad’s going to watch the twins.” He winks at you as you feel the butterflies in your stomach grow even after all this time together.
“That sounds lovely, thank you.” You smile at him and his father. Once you clean up the wrapping papers you settle down for brunch with Isaiah and his father. Once it’s over, you put the twins down for a nap and the two of you decide to take a nap as well. That when he asks you a serious question.
“Do you want to have another baby soon?”
“Yes, we can. Right after the twin’s first birthday. Now let’s sleep.” You kiss his lips confirming the decision. You rest your head on his rest as his arms tight around your waist. You both fall asleep together.

❛ scaredy cat! ❜
Tumblr media

➼ warnings! cursing, spooky houses, reader gets really freaked out, mention of fake blood
➼ type! humor, a little fluff and a little spooky, reader is in their third year, takes place in october
➼ author’s note! 2/3 of my halloween fics. please keep in mind that this is the first time i’m posting on here and first time i’m writing for hq, so i apologize beforehand if there are any mistakes or the characters seem ooc. anyways, happy halloween! have fun and stay safe. enjoy this little treat! <3
Tumblr media
"Isn't this so exciting!" Tendou squeals in delight, and you immediately want to shake your head in response, because no, this was quite far from exciting. Coach had finally given you guys a very much needed day off, and while you had wanted nothing more than to curl up in your bed and watch Halloween movies all day, your oh so lovely friend had other plans.
Only a mere hour ago, halfway through your second film, Tendou had barged right into your dorm room, and quite literally pulled you out of bed before shoving you into your closet, holding it closed until you agreed to go with them. He refused to tell you who them was or where you guys were meant to be going, insisting that it was a surprise. And after ten minutes of arguing with the boy through the wooden door separating the two of you, you were rendered with no choice but to give in, agreeing to go. Tendou had released you with a victorious smile, but it was wiped away when you had tackled him as soon as his face came into view.
Alas, that's how you found yourself standing with the starting lineup of the Shiratorizawa Volleyball team, in front of a rickety old home that looked like it had been standing since the beginning of time. To make matters worse, it was covered in spooky decorations inside and out, and it was crawling with actors from the community theatre dressed up as all sorts of scary beings.
No, you thought once more, this was far from exciting.
But the lack of disagreement from the rest of the team had you keeping your mouth sealed shut. You'd be damned if you let them know just how terrified you actually were. They'd never let you live it down.
Your fingers twitched at your side, however, and you clamped down on your bottom lip as that unwelcome feeling of uneasiness began to fester in your tummy. Frowning, you found yourself really wishing you were back in your dorm room, where it was safe and warm. Semi, who had been standing beside you, glanced at you from the corner of his eye, taking note of your tense form.
"Are you all right, Y/N?" All eyes turned to you at the boy's words, and you mentally cursed at yourself for being such an open book.
"Yeah,” You forced a smile, nodding as you tried to reassure not only them, but yourself as well, "Just not the biggest fan of haunted houses."
"Don't worry, Y/N!" The only first year of the group chirped, bringing all eyes to him. Goshiki smiled reassuringly, chest puffing out as he held his thumbs up, "I'll protect you!”
You couldn't help the way your lips curled up in endearment as you stared at the younger boy, "Thank you, Goshiki."
It seems you had given the boy your gratitude far too early. The moment the group of you had stepped through the threshold of the home, which was so dark you could hardly even see the back of the person in front of you, an actor dressed as a bloody doll popped up in front of you guys, effectively stealing a squeal of fright from both you and Goshiki, who clutched tightly onto the person beside him, which just so happened to be Shirabu. The second-year scoffed, prying the younger boy's fingers off of him before muttering something to himself. Goshiki shot him a look of utter betrayal, and while the youngest of the group had been occupied, another actor dressed as a freaky clown took it upon them to creep up behind the boy. Another yelp of surprise slipped past Goshiki's lips as he leapt away from them, holding onto Reon's arm this time around. Reon paid it no mind, only offering the boy a reassuring smile as he let him cling to him.
So much for your knight in shining armor, you thought to yourself, but you couldn't help the smile that made its way onto your face. However, it was very short-lived as another actor popped up out of nowhere, getting far too close to your face for your liking. You shrieked once again, stumbling back and bumping into Tendou. Said boy burst into a bout of laughter, throwing his arm over your shoulder, "My, my, y/n-chan! I forgot how much of a scaredy-cat you w—, ow!"
The boy howled, dramatic as always, as you jutted your elbow lightly into his side, pushing him away from you. You sent him a scathing glare before turning away from him, nose raised. Because you knew Tendou, and you knew that he most definitely did not forget how jumpy you could be. He had used that information against you ever since he had found out about it, which was back in your second year, when he had forced you and Ushijima to play some horror game with him.
Ignoring Tendou's "apologies," you jogged ahead, falling into step with Semi. Said boy glanced down at you, a teasing smile playing at his lips, "Scared?"
You huffed, avoiding his eyes as you turned your head away from him, your cheeks growing warm in the process. His laugh filled the air, and you felt him nudge you in the arm gently. You turned back to him, and he offered a small smile, "You can hold on to me if you get scared."
You smiled at him, "Thanks, Semi."
He only shrugged in response, and when an actor jumped out at you once more a few moments later, you had no problem taking him up on his proposition. He teased you every time you squeezed onto his arm tighter, but his presence did reassure you a little bit. The dark lights of the house made it hard to see clearly, so holding onto someone made you feel much better.
You guys continued to stumble through the old house, jumpscares at every turn, effectively spooking the lot of you again and again. The only one who had yet to be spooked in even the slightest was Ushijima. Albeit, it had been pretty hard to frighten Tendou as well, but when an actor had finally managed to catch him off guard, he let out a petrified shriek followed by a cackle of delight. He truly was something else.
Eventually, you guys came upon the hall of mirrors. Reluctantly, you let go of Semi's arm as the narrow space only allowed room for one person at a time. You and Semi were the last to enter, you trailing in after behind the boy. You held your hands out, feeling the space before you in fear of bumping straight into a mirror. You began to think that this part wasn't as bad as the rest of the house, as nothing had yet creeped out at you, but that thought was quickly diminished as soon as an actor popped out from seemingly nowhere, right in front of you. A yelp slipped past your lips and you stumbled back. The person crept closer to you, cackling as you shut your eyes in fear.
Oh, You were so going to murder Tendou.
After a few moments of silence, you slowly peeked an eye open, a sigh of relief slipping past your lips when you realized you were alone. Wait. Fear gripped at your heart once more as you realized that you were alone. Semi was no longer ahead of you, and no one else from the Volleyball Club was in sight. Your eyes widened and your breath hitched. This was not good. You rushed forward, hopelessly stumbling through the exhibit, bumping into a mirror every now and then. Nothing else popped out at you, but that didn't stop the rapid beating of your heart. You were absolutely terrified now that you no longer had the comforting presence of anyone besides you. Hell, you'd even choose to have Tendou with you if it meant that you didn't have to be by yourself. You had no luck in finding any of the boys, but you did eventually make your way out of the hall of mirrors. You found yourself back in a dark hall like the ones from before, and reached into your back pocket to pull out your phone.
You unlocked it with shaking hands, and quickly dialed Tendou's number, bringing the phone up to your ear as you huddled into a corner, eyes peeled for anything lurking in the dark.
"I'm sorry, but your connection isn't—" You pulled the phone away from your ear, nearly crying at the little "no service" written on the top corner of your screen. You shut your phone off, siding it back into your pocket. Heaving out a sigh, you shut your eyes momentarily.
Okay y/n, calm down. Breathe. Take a second. You coaxed yourself, trying to get yourself to relax. This went on for a minute or two, and when you felt like you could finally breathe again, you opened your eyes once more, releasing a breath. You swallowed the lump in your throat, relaxing your fingers from the curled up ball they were in previously. Okay, you can do this. You can find your way out.
You nodded to yourself, letting out another breath as you continued on. It went okay for a few minutes. No one else jumped out at you, and there were only a few scares here and there but nothing too bad. Once again, you spoke far too soon. Just as you turned a corner, an actor appeared right before you. A squeal slipped past your lips, and you stumbled back as the actor crept closer to you. You knew it was fake, but that did nothing to help calm your fear. They lunged at you, and another yelp slipped past your lips as you blindly took another step backward. Your back slammed into a hard surface this time. The surface was warm, and rose up and down steadily, and you realized with a sinking feeling that it was in fact not a wall, but a person. You tensed up, instantly fearing the worse. What if it was another creepy actor? You were afraid you'd faint if it was.
"Y/N," The deep voice that came from the person had some of the tension seeping from your body as a sigh slipped past your lips, "It's me."
You steeled your eyes shut, before slowly turning on your heel. When you were facing the person, you slowly peeked an eye open, before both of them flew open at the sight of the boy before you. You had known it was him just by his voice alone, but you had been silently praying that it hadn't been. But no, it was most definitely Ushijima who stared down at you with an impassive stare.
"I'm so sorry!" You all but shouted when you noticed just how close you were standing to the ace, scrambling away from him, only to jump forward once more when another actor inched closer to you. Could they not give you a second to breathe?
"There's no reason to be sorry" Ushijima stated simply, peering down at you.
Not wanting to embarrass yourself any further, you gave a stiff nod. You took a moment to survey the area, and it was then that you noticed the lack of the other boys, "Where's everyone else?
"We didn't realize you were missing until we made it to the end" Your lips turned down at his blunt words, wondering how they could have possibly gone all that time without noticing your absence. You've been alone for nearly twenty minutes now! Ushijima didn't seem to pick up on your sour mood, however, continuing on with his explanation of why it was only him that was standing before you, "The others were too scared to come back in, so I volunteered."
Your lips parted in disbelief at his words, your hands curling into fists at your side. What a bunch of as—
"Are you all right, Y/N?" Ushijima asked, and you caught the slightest shift of his eyebrow raising upward.
However, before you could even get the chance to respond and tell the boy how far from all right you were, another actor popped out from around the corner, screeching at the two of you. Your breath hitched, and you inched closer to Ushijima as the actor did the same to you.
Ushijima only blinked at the actor, before turning to glance back down at you. While he may not have been the most emotionally intelligent guy out there, it was quite clear to him that you were terrified. His lips turned down just the slightest, and he called out your name. You peeled your eyes away from the creepy doll-like figure, wide eyes landing on Ushijima, "Are you ready to go on?"
You nodded frantically, wanting nothing more than to be out of this terrifying house. The boy took the first step forward, and you followed timidly, wide eyes scanning the area for anything creeping in the dark. Ushijima expertly weaved his way through the home, seemingly relaxed as ever as he didn't so much as even flinch when something popped out at the two of you. You, however, were practically shaking as you subconsciously inched closer and closer to the boy. While you guys didn't speak with one another, Ushijima always a man of few words, his presence was enough to soothe your nerves, even if it was just by a little bit.
It didn't take long for Ushijima to notice the gap between the two of you gradually growing smaller and smaller. The boy may not have been the best at picking up social clues, but after knowing you for as long as he did, he could practically read you like an open book. He knew your close proximity to him wasn't exactly intentional, it just happened with how many times you took instinctive steps closer to him out of fear. He wanted to help you, but he didn't really know how. He thought back and recalled the way that you had clung onto Semi before.
He called your name suddenly, and you were once again looking up at him with wide eyes. He came to a stop, prompting you to do the same before he held his arm out to you. You blinked at the outstretched limb before meeting his eyes once more, tilting your head to the side in confusion, "I'm not sure I understand. Did you hurt your arm?"
"No" He responded, thrusting his arm out a little more, "You're scared, are you not?"
You felt your cheeks heat up in embarrassment as you awkwardly scratched at the back of your neck, "Is it that obvious?"
"Yes," He answered bluntly, before gesturing to his arm once more, "You can hold onto my arm if you'd like."
Your eyes grew even wider at that, lips parting in shock as you stared at the ace. You blinked at him, and when you went to reply, you found yourself stumbling over your words, "I—, you—, w—"
"You do not have to, if you do not want t—"
"No!" You all but shouted, mentally cringing as you caught the subtle way Ushijima’s eyes widened just the slightest. Coughing to recollect yourself, you offered Ushijima a soft smile as you gently wrapped your fingers around the soft fabric of his Shiratorizowa sports jacket, "Thank you, Wakatoshi-Kun."
"There's no need to thank me" He answered curtly, quickly glancing away so you wouldn't see the slightest tint of red that began to coat his cheeks, "Let's go, the others must be getting tired of waiting."
You nodded, even though he couldn't exactly see it, before taking a step closer to him. The two of you began to walk once more, but now that you were clinging onto Ushijima's arm, you felt much safer. You still flinched every now and then, your grip on Ushijima's arm turning a little tighter each time something jumped out of you before softening once more but unlike Semi, Ushijima said nothing about it. Eventually, you caught sight of the light at the end of the tunnel, quite literally. Your eyes widened in relief as you caught sight of the exit, speeding up as you practically dragged Ushijima alongside you. A weight was lifted off your shoulders as soon as you stepped out of the home. Your eyes quickly landed on your group of boys standing a few feet away, seemingly waiting for the two of you, and you hastily began to make your way over to them.
"Wakatoshi-Kun!" Tendou gasped when he caught sight of the two of you approaching the small group. Whatever he had planned to say before was thrown out of the window when he caught sight of the hold you still had on the captain, a teasing smirk pulling up the corner of his lips as he looked at his best friend, "You sly dog! No wonder you volunteered to go save our sweet manager-chan!"
"I don't understand what you mean" Ushijima spoke, the slightest furrow of his brows displaying his confusion.
"Well, you obviously—, yeow!" The boy yelped as you slapped his arm, narrowing his eyes at you as he pouted, "Why are you so rough with me, y/n-chan!"
Your eyes hardened at his words, and you went to raise your hand once more, but the boy let out a yelp, scampering behind Semi. He clutched onto the boy's shoulders, peeking his head out from behind him, "I'm sorry, I'm sorry! Just stop hitting me!"
You huffed in response, turning away from him as you crossed your arms. Sensing your unhappy mood, Reon took a timid step towards you, "Are you all right, Y/N?"
"No, I'm not!" You answered, lips turning down into a pout as you turned to face the boys once more, "I can't believe you guys didn't even realize that I was missing for nearly twenty minutes, and when you guys finally did realize, only Ushijima went back in to find me!"
Said boy stood silently beside you, peering at the others. Both Reon and Semi frowned at you, guilt eating away at them. Goshiki looked to be close to tears, as he had wanted to go back in and look for you, but he himself was too scared to do so. Yamagata stood to the right of him, gently patting the younger boy's back while outwardly avoiding your gaze. Hell, even Kawanishi and Shirabu looked sorry. They had all witnessed how scared you had been even when you were surrounded by all of them, so they could only imagine how terrified you must have felt while you were on your own.
"We're sorry" The boys spoke simultaneously, a sheepish smile on their faces as they looked at you.
You sighed heavily, dropping your crossed arms as you waved your hand through the air, a look of indifference replacing your previous pout. You could never stay mad at the boys for long, "It's alright. But I do expect you guys to make it up to me."
So when you found yourself in a little cafe not too far from the haunted house, a warm mug of hot chocolate cradled in your hands, topped with whipped cream and a platter of cute pumpkin-shaped cookies sitting before you, courtesy of your favorite boys, the animated voices of the team filling up the tiny booth you guys were crammed in and Ushijima's warmth from where he sat beside you bathing you in serenity, you couldn't find it in you to be mad at Tendou for crashing your plans any longer. Because while you could have movie marathons whenever you pleased, your time to make memories with your favorite people was slowly running out, and you'd rather take every opportunity you could to be with them than regret not doing so later on down the road. So yes, you supposed that today had been exciting, and while you would never admit it to Tendou, it was a day you'd never forget.

---------------------------------------------------------------------------
In the name of the father, my Colt 1911 and the universal hatred of hippies, I will not strangle Spencer with these cuffs….
"Psst...Lassie?"
We will get rescued and then he'll go back to San Francisco with O'Hara….
"Lassito? Can you scratch my back?"
And I will get a reward from the Mayor for self-control…
"Laaaaaasssie, please? Can't reach it- Hey! Do you ever use your cane as a back scratcher?"
"SPENCER!" Lassiter hisses loud enough for the bearded well, hippie guarding the arid decrepit living room to hear. The Police Chief scowls at the blank eyes of the guard and waits for the man to turn back to whatever the hell he'd been doing.
What fresh hell is this- he had told O'Hara that a fishing trip alone with Shawn wasn't going to end well. But then Marlowe had joined with O'Hara's puppy dog eyes and-
"What?" Shawn replies with the irritating casualness one isn't supposed to have while handcuffed back to back.
And also after being kidnapped.
Lassiter lowers his voice down to a loud whisper, "What did I tell you?"
"When Ron and his friends took us from the boat?"
Of course Spencer would figure out their captors name.
"How in God's name do you know that..man's name?" Lassiter asks, already prepared for the idiotic performance sure to follow. In the briefest of moments, Lassiter's heart lifts at the delay in response from Shawn and the beautiful possibility of a semi-mature response.
"'Cause I'm psychic."
Idiot.
Ron lumbers over from his near hour long guard at the door and sneers heavily, "You two needa shut up."
"Kidnapping a Police Chief and a civilian-"
"Psychic," Shawn interrupts because, of course.
Lassiter rolls his eyes and continues glaring at Ron. "Is making things worse. And a hippie like you, destroying this-"
Shawn wiggles in his spot and somehow manages not to irritate Lassiter's injured arm. He dramatically tsks and states," Look, Ron, my good man, as we had tried to tell you while we were on our boat before you swooped in and took us, we are just two men doing manly fishing ...manly...ly."
Lassiter sighs and quickly weighs the pros and cons of persuading Ron to duct tape Shawn's mouth shut. No, they were two men , forced by a pregnant detective and her puppy eyes to "bond".
"Wai, you's kinda young to be a puh-lees chief," Ron says, cocking his head to the right like a German Shepard. Normally, Carlton Lassiter would tear into Ron head to toe for well, everything, but it's the man's current attention that leaves Lassiter well, speechless.
Attention directed solely on Shawn.
Shawn chuckles, not even attempting to stifle down his delight at Ron's comment. "As much as I am delighted at the compliment, alas, I am not the Police Chief in this dynamic duo. No, I am Shawn Spencer, Master and commander of Psychfransico in beautiful San Francisco. This silver haired fox is my idol and Police Chief of Santa Barbara, Carlton Lassiter. "
Ron naively scoffs at Lassiter and chuckles, "You 'ain't a Police Chief. You look like his Daddy."
The squeal of delight from Spencer- is it possible to double the mortification he's already drowning in?
"Stooop," Shawn replies with giddy shyness. "I'd shake your hand , good man, if I could. Speaking of hands, I know you and your merry man of kidnappers-"
"Ya'll went on our land and we can't have that," Ron counters.
Lassiter blinks out of his daze of mortification and snorts at the happy conversing between Ron and Shawn.
How cute.
"Can you two stop sharing your feelings and get back to the fact that you and your little pals kidnapped a Police Chief-"
"And psychic!"
"Spencer, I swear to God-"
"What? Accuracy is important!"
"STOP!!" Ron bellows before staggering back to the counter. The over dramatic fall is one of the many reasons he had taken Lilly to a small gathering of hippies banging drums and reviewed in great details the detrimental behaviors of tree huggers.
A great activity for a four year old, despite Marlowe's eye roll.
"Are you really a Police Chief?" Ron blubbers. Lassiter groans and opens his mouth for another smarmy comment. Unfortunately, the motormouth champion of the West Coast beats him to it.
"He is. One of the best in the west. Just like I am and my psychic skill. Just how I predict that you make that right move and let me and the man who sleeps with two pistols in his bedside go."
It's three- one in the dresser, one under the pillow and one in the ejection slot on the bed frame, Lassiter thinks before the non- irritable side of him sparks a thoughtful observation.
Has Spencer been giving me compliments this whole time?
Ron opens his mouth and gawks momentarily at Lassiter before clumsily turning and lumbering out the door. Shawn sighs louder than necessary and then comments, "He seems nice."
"Do you two want a room to braid each other's hair," Lassiter growls with increasing volume," AND MAKE FRIENDSHIP BRACELETS?"
"Gus and I did that last week," Shawn replies calmly," the friendship bracelets, I mean." He leans towards the wall, humming softly, before pressing a small sharp object against Lassiter's wrist. "I was going to just cut us free instead."
Lassiter Scrunches his nose and imagines his Lilly and his Marlowe smiling back at him and how he'd miss them dearly if he would be arrested for strangling Spencer. "You had a sharp object this entire time?"
"No. I found it but didn't want to use it with our main man Ron in the room,” Shawn states. Lassiter can feel Shawn’s hands fidgeting with the handcuffs. The Police Chief lets out a frustrated humph as Shawn continues to work before the glorious sound of a click from the handcuffs.
“Lassie, can I ask you a question?”
"No."
"No, seriously."
He'd bang his head against the wall if he could. Lassiter inhales and exhales slowly, knowing full well that Spencer could and would keep this game up if he wanted to. "Fine," he says slowly, "What?"
"How do you be a good father?"
Oh.
Oh.
The pain in the ass, the bane of his existence, the-
The handcuffs click and the cold metal around Lassiter's wrist drop to the ground. "Hold on," Shawn mutters as he continues to fidget with his own cuffs until they also drop to the ground. Shawn turns around and repeats his earlier question, "So yeah, how do you be a good father?"
Turning on the floor to face Shawn would take an awkward, frustrating set of movements so Lassiter stays back to back with Shawn. "Is that why you asked me to go fishing?"
Shawn grunts as he rolls onto his hands and then pushes himself up onto his knees. He shrugs and admits, “Me and my dad aren’t- well, we butt heads. With Jules being eight months pregnant, she figured out that I wanted to talk to you but-”
“Spencer, “ Lassiter hisses, softening his expression at the look in Shawn’s eyes. Is that puppy eyes? “How about this? We get out of here, I shoot some hippies and then I’ll give you six minutes.. and forty five seconds to ask me questions about fatherhood.”
Just as his daughter, Shawn perks up and grins as if just being told about a trip to the ice cream store. He stands and helps lift Lassiter to his feet. “There are six doors- two on the left and four on the right. We went down two flights of stairs with eight steps on each,” Shawn rambles, “and….when we were blindfolded in the back of the jeep, we took three left turns and a right turn from the boat.”
In normal times, especially back in the days when Shawn and Gus were causing chaos in Santa Barbara, Carlton Lassiter would scowl and walk away from the idiotic smile on Shawn’s face with Juliet on his heels. Right now, as he’s aggravated for being kidnapped, hungry and really wishing Marlowe hadn’t talked him into taking one pistol with him instead of his usual three, there is a small part of him that he will never outwardly admit that is a bit impressed and proud of Spencer.
A very, very small part of him. A minute size part of him.
“Ready?” Shawn asks as he pulls Lassiter’s uninjured arm over his shoulder for support.
Lassiter nods, thinking- Ready.
-------------------------------------------------------------------
Escaping comes way too easy.
Lassiter isn’t the least surprised to find only two of the six men that had surrounded them on the boat sitting in the room at the top of the stairs. He really isn’t surprised when Shawn manages to sow doubt in Ron’s mind long enough to give Lassiter the chance to grab the closest item and whip it across the room and clock the second man in the back of the head.
After calling for assistance, arresting Ron and his unconscious friend and threatening the two arriving SBPD officers with hell if they even think about saying a word, Lassiter stands in front of a police vehicle, watching Shawn talk animatedly to Juliet O’Hara on the phone. The same small part of him that was impressed by Shawn triggers a faint smile on the Police Chief’s face.
“I’ll be home soon. Yep…..tell Gus that he can breathe…..I love you too….kiss the belly for me. Ok, bye!” Shawn exclaims happily. He pockets his phone and tries to calmly cross the lot to Lassiter. Lassiter can feel the excited energy bouncing off the younger man as he asks quietly, “So…..how can I be a good father to my little girl? Like you are?”
Good lord. Lassiter sighs and replies, “You’ll be fine, Spencer, but ask any question you want.”
“For six minutes and forty five seconds?”
He’ll regret this dearly. “I will open it up to ten minutes-” he holds up a hand as Shawn’s eyes widen with excitement, “-don’t make me regret this.”

Ok- first, the main ship here is Barbatos and MC, but I might've made this a bit longer than the other fics because I got carried away LOL
I'll let you know before you proceed, there'll be sad Mammon moments
Enjoy!
Time is limited (Barbatos/MC)
"Isn't it about time you admit to your feelings?" The Demon Prince asked his servant, causing the butler to stop in his tracks and look at Diavolo with a calm smile.
"I don't think I know what you're talking about, My Lord." He answered as he placed the kettle down and stood beside Diavolo as his Lord is working on documents.
He hummed and looked at his servant with a straight face. "It's only a matter of time before they leave the Devildom, bottling it up would keep you distracted from time-to-time." He stated, aware that his servant is denying what he said.
Barbatos frowned and looked away. "I don't see why I couldn't handle it."
This made Diavolo furrow his eyebrows. "Barbatos." He called out, causing the butler to turn to his Lord. "...yes, my lord?"
"They aren't like us. Their time is limited, and you know that. I won't want to force you, I just wish to push the thought to you and consider it than regret about it in the end." His lord responded.
Barbatos forced a small smile on his face. "As you said, my lord... they aren't like us, I don't intend to burden them with my feelings."
This made Diavolo sigh in defeat as he turned back to his papers. "Well, I understand. However, if you ever come to change your mind, I'll let you go and meet them whenever." He said as he looked through his workload.
Barbatos stared at his Lord for a moment before going back to help him with work.
-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-
"You... WHAT?!" Mammon screeched as he looked at you surprised. You winced from his sudden outburst as his mouth is hung open.
"Mammon, please-" you were cut off as he whined and hugged your waist.
"But- why HIM??? You've got me, my brothers, a human, even an angel- ya really gotta hit Barbatos of all PEOPLE?" he ranted and looked up at you helplessly.
You smiled a little and ruffled his hair. "Didn't you say you'd support me no matter what happens?" You remind.
He froze and glared at you. "Yeah but not like THIS-" he shut up as he noticed your suddenly gloomy expression.
"O-Oi! Don't go lookin' sad at me now!"
You smiled sadly and looked down. "..do you think I have a chance?" You asked quietly, your first demon still heard it.
Oh how Mammon wanted to say no at that, but he doesn't want you sad like this. No matter how far his greed goes, he can't pull your happiness away from you.
He sighed in defeat and patted your back. "Look- cheer up, won't ya? Barbatos doesn't show his true emotions much, so don't lose hope just yet- ...here, remember Lord Diavolo announcin' a party? Don't ya wanna have a dance with him?" He comforted.
This lightened your mood a bit and smiled a little. "Thanks Mammon... you're the best." You responded.
This made the demon blush slightly and look away. "O-of course I am! I'm the GREAT Mammon after all!" He answered.
"Go to sleep already! I needa go and do something." He said as he stood up and was ready to leave, until...
"...no matter what happens, i'll always be your first man, right?" He asked, turning back to look at you.
You giggled and nodded without hesitation. "Yes, my one and only bestfriend." (Cue Levi crying in the corner- sorry-)
This made the avatar of greed smile. He loves you, but even he knows he'd rather want you to be happy even if it weren't with him.
Having to know he's still your first man, was enough for him somehow.
And so, he left and went to talk to Lucifer about your plan for the party.
The oldest was surprised, but still agreed and informed Diavolo about it.
The demon prince was more than delighted to help.
-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-
You walked around the ballroom, looking around in amazement.
It's your last day in the Devildom before heading back up to the human world, Diavolo had planned a party specifically for the exchange students.
Diavolo had noticed you and smiled, before glancing at an entranced Barbatos.
He grinned and ushered his Butler to approach you, making him look at his lord in slight panic.
He soon mouthed something to his servant. "At least indulge yourself, just this once."
Barbatos sighed in defeat as he walked over to you rather nervously. It looks like he can't compose himself this time.
You turned to look at him and smile brightly. "Hi Barbatos!" You greeted.
Ah, this just made Barbatos' heart sink even more. He smiled a little and went to kiss the top of your hand. "Greetings, MC."
Asmo looked at their direction and whistled. "Ooo~ he's smooth~"
Mammon grumbled and ate away on a backstabbing sandwich.
Satan looked at his older brother in curiosity. "You aren't going to stop them?" He asked.
"...why should I? They're happy, I don't wanna take that away." He answered. Catching Asmo and Satan off-guard.
The two were surprised with Mammon's sacrifice, so all they could do was Asmo giving him a comfort hug while Satan offered him another sandwich.
"Would you care for a dance?" Barbatos offered which made you hum happily, taking his hand as you both danced gracefully on the dance floor.
Barbatos had soon tucked your hair behind your ear as he smiled rather gently.
"You're wonderful, MC." He complimented. You smiled. "You think so? Well, you're amazing, Barbatos." You responded.
Diavolo watched the two happily with his arms crossed. Lucifer stood beside him.
"They look quite the match, Don't they?" Diavolo turned to look at Lucifer.
The avatar of pride hummed in agreement. He has to admit, you have quite a good taste.
Barbatos sighed sadly. "It was a mistake in my part for spending time with you in the last moments..." he said as he gripped onto your hand a little tighter, but not enough to hurt you.
You shook your head. "It's not, Barbatos. You're busy, I could understand that." You assured.
He stared down at you before, letting himself give in and lean closer. "...May I?" He asked.
You nodded as you both shared your first kiss on this very night. You smiled into the kiss, this was definitely going to be the most memorable moment of your whole life.
Diavolo looked at the both of you in surprise and grinned, turning to Lucifer like a happy child looking at his mother after seeing something he likes.
Lucifer chuckled and shook his head dismissively. Now Diavolo was happy to the roof, not only did Barbatos went in for it, Lucifer CHUCKLED.
Asmo squealed and snapped a picture with a huge smile.
And just when Satan was about to turn his attention back to Mammon, he had already left.
The 4th-born went to Lucifer and notify him about Mammon, so the eldest excused himself and went to look for his younger brother.
He found him at the garden, sitting on the grass while looking up with a sad smile.
He approached his brother. "I really expected you to go against them, I'm surprised you accepted it." He spoke through the silence as Mammon looked at him.
The 2nd-born laughed and shook his head. "I love em, Lucifer. I ain't that selfish, I'll need time but, i'll let go of them sooner or later." He responded.
This made the 1st-born smile and sit beside him, patting his younger brother's head. Mammon blushed in embarrassment but still rested his head on his brother's shoulder like the old days.
"...did I do the right thing?" He asked quietly, which wasn't really like him.
The eldest hummed and leaned his head on his brother's.
"Yes you did. I'm proud of you, Mammon."

---------------------------------
It was finally the night before your wedding day. The day you had been waiting for since you had first kissed Rafael, if you were being totally honest. You were staying at Chloe’s due to the whole traditional “not seeing each other” before the wedding; it was the first night you had spent away from Rafael since the whole “Nevada” debacle. You wanted to prove to him and yourself that you could spend one night without him cuddling you like a toddler afraid to sleep in their own bed. But the more you drank during your “last girl’s night” the more the demons came out for you. Before you knew it you were hiding in your old bathroom dialing Rafael’s number.
“Baby aren’t you--” He started to ask you but you cut him off.
“Do you still want to marry me?”
“Ay dios,” You heard him chuckle. “Si, mi amor,”
“¿Estás seguro?” You asked worriedly.
“Yes carino,” He said very seriously. “I am very very sure,”
“...Okay,” You said in a small voice.
“Now go have fun and tell Chloe not to let you drink anymore, comprende?”
“Si,” You rolled your eyes. As you came out of the bathroom, you were greeted by Maria who was now in your former living room...for some reason.
“Hey babe, so Maria came by for--”
“I came by to ask you a favor, mija,” Maria cut Chloe off.
“Oh um--” You tried to act more sober around the only mother figure you’d really been around since forever. “Yeah sure! What’s up?”
“Well, I know we haven’t known each other that long, but Raffi is basically my son, so I consider you like a daughter,” She smiled sweetly at you, and you were suddenly aware that she was carrying a box with her.
“Oh, well that’s very sweet of you Maria,” You tried your best not to look uncomfortable.
“My husband Felipe and I,” She explained as she opened the box. “We were never able to conceive children ourselves,” She pulled out a very ancient looking, very detailed veil from the box.
“This veil has been worn by many generations in my family, and if I can’t pass it onto my own daughter, it would be my honor to give it to you to wear tomorrow,”
“Oh, Maria,” You did your best to hide your disgust for the veil, looking at her teary eyed smile. You glanced over her head and caught Chloe’s gaze; she was making a face that mimicked how you felt. It was like one of those fruit hats women wore in movies or commercials, only white and frilly. But what could you do?
“I’d be honored to wear it,” You nodded sweetly. Maria threw her arms around you with a tearful cry of joy. Behind her Chloe waved her arms wildly like “what the hell are you doing?!”. You could just shrug like “what else am I supposed to do?!”
“Bless you, hermosa,” She kissed you on the cheek as she stood up to leave. “Now I’ll leave you ladies to your fun,” She smiled and waved as she walked out the door.
“...What the hell?” Chloe couldn’t help but erupt in giggles as she properly examined the monstrosity.
“Shut up,” You tossed a pillow at her. “What was I supposed to do?! She was asking me to carry on her family name, or something,” You looked at the door where she had left; although you were still pretty drunk so you half remembered the conversation.
“Well if Rafael marries you while you wear this, you know it’s true love,” She snickered as she put it on you and turned you towards a mirror above your key ring holder.
“Oh God…” You threw your hands over your face and fell onto the couch face forward.
“Hey hey hey, don’t wrinkle it!” Chloe continued to tease and giggle. “That thing probably came over in some old Cuban woman’s raft,”
“I hate you,” You muttered through the cushions.
“You’ll hate me more if I don’t get you in bed right now,” Chloe shook her head with a laugh and a bottle of water. “But first, drink this. We don’t want you hungover on your big day,”
“Thanks mom,” You took the water and headed to your room, leaving the veil on the couch.
------------------
The next day Chloe woke you up by jumping up and down on your bed yelling “IT’S YOUR WEDDING DAY!!!”
“...Jesus Christ Chloe,” You grumbled. “It’s too early for this,”
“Too early?” She scoffed, plopping right on your butt making you grunt. “Nonsense. It’s your wedding day!!”
“Which begs the question why you’re so happy about it,” You raised a suspicious eyebrow.
“What? I can't be happy for my best friend to get her happy ending?” She feigned offense.
“....Uh huh”, You continued to give her the look.
“And the fact that my bridesmaid’s dress makes me look like a classy pornstar?” She added.
“....An oxymoron, but go on,” You waited for it.
“....And the fact that every eligible lawyer and cop are gonna be at this wedding?!” She finally exclaimed.
“There it is,” You nodded your head with a roll of your eyes as you threw on some clothes to go downstairs.
------
There was a limo waiting outside Chloe’s apartment for you and her. You hesitated getting in, remembering the last time you were in one of them. Chloe decided she’d do a ‘sweep’ for you. She jumped in and slid down the seats, squealing in delight.
“All clear babe! Check out what the husband left you!”
You cautiously slid in the limo to see Chloe pointing to a mini bar/fridge full of sweet pastries and champagne.
“Good lord,” You shook your head with a smile. “Chloe maybe we--” You were starting to say maybe at least wait until 11 am to start drinking, but she had already popped the champagne.
“Here,” She grabbed orange juice from the mini fridge. “Mimosas, the breakfast drink,”
You just stared at the drink she was trying to hand you; orange liquid in a champagne flute. You closed your eyes and told yourself the mind elixir was bright orange like Fanta, not orange juice. You took a deep breath and slowly accepted the mimosa, sipping it. See? You were fine. Everything was fine.
-------------
As you pulled up to St. Michael’s you saw it was swarmed with cameras, reporters, and people in general. It looked like a circus. You saw the crowd and silently wished you had said screw tradition and had Rafael there with you. But you were a big girl, and you had Chloe.
“...Can we get out somewhere less...this?” You nervously asked your driver.
“Absolutely ma’am, I’ll find a private entrance. No problem,”
“Thank you,” You sighed in relief.
-----
After driving around the church a few times, the driver finally found a side street blocked off. He informed the copper he had you in the limo, and the cop waved your limo inside. Chloe jumped out of the limo while holding your hand, nearly breaking your arm.
“Oh! Wait! Hey Jeeves, can we get those pastries and mimosa’s in the lady’s bridal suite?”
“Chloe his name is not--”
“It’s fine, ma’am,” The driver chuckled. “I’ll make sure the refreshments are delivered to your dressing room,”
“You’re a doll,” She blew him a kiss before she continued pulling you through the huge building like she knew exactly where you were going.
“Excuse me, where do we go?” Chloe asked a random man in a suit.
“Oh, it’s you Ms. Y/N!” The man pulled out a camera and began snapping photos.
“Oh my god--- What is WRONG with you people?!” Chloe shoved him aside and took you down another corridor. Finally you reached a doorway that was guarded by two armed guards.
“Hi, do you know--”
“Right this way,” One of them took your hand. “Mr. Barba is already inside getting ready,” He nodded to the door as you walked away. You wanted so badly to swing open the door and jump into his arms, but you knew you had to stay calm.
“Great!” You did your best to smile at him as he led you and Chloe down the hall to another doorway. He opened it to reveal a huge room with a vanity, a changing wall, two long body mirrors and a lush couch. Two sinks lined the wall and a room with a toilet was behind it. Yours and Chloe’s dresses were hanging on the changing wall, and sitting on the vanity were your treats from the limo.
“Weee! Look at all of this!!!” Chloe clapped her hands and giggled wildly as she danced around the lavish room.
“I mean, it is nice--”
“Nice? God I wish I was getting married here!” Chloe sighed as she poured herself another mimosa.
“Well, if you ever find a man I’ll look into it,” You teased her.
“Uh I think you mean WHEN,” She pointed out. “And I think the ‘when’ will be by tonight!”
“My wedding reception isn’t a singles mixer, Chloe,” You rolled your eyes.
“Well of course not,” She shook her head. “It’s a BALL!”
“Oh good god,” You groaned with a small laugh as you poured yourself a mimosa and downed it.
“Whoa there killer, let’s slow it down there,” She gave you a look. “Wouldn’t want you stumbling down the aisle in front of a million people,”
“...Do you think you’re helping?” You asked her in an annoyed tone.
“Sorry, sorry,” She apologized as there was a knock at the door. Chloe answered it to see two women carrying makeup cases and hair tools.
“We’re here to get you ready, Ms. Y/L/N,” One of them smiled at you.
“And her maid of honor, right?” Chloe jumped in.
“Uh...if that’s what the bride wants,” The other one looked at you with a wary stare.
“Yeah that’s fine, actually please do her first by all means,” You waved them over to the long sink wall and vanity.
“You’re a good friend,” Chloe put her hands over your face with tears in her eyes as she smiled.
“...You’re ridiculous,” You patted her head sweetly before she sat in the vanity, ready to be made over.
While Chloe was being turned into a princess, you walked over and admired your dress that looked like it was made for one. It was a long, cream white colored sleeveless dress with intricate cubic zirconia diamonds sewn into the bust. It was the simplest dress Chloe had let you pick. Suddenly you remembered the cornucopia veil, it was sitting on the couch in the box Maria had brought it over in. You pulled it out and put it on; when one of the stylists saw it she gasped.
“Oh, ma’am, I don’t know--”
“My...mother, asked me to wear it,” You stopped her.
“Right,” She nodded uncomfortably while Chloe tried not to laugh at the disgusted faces they were clearly trying to hide.
---------------
After what seemed like hours, you and Chloe were finally done in full make up and up do's. One of the ladies picked up the ancient headwear and tried positioning on your hair as best she could. She took several tries, using hair pins and hairspray before she finally stepped back.
“Lovely,” She smiled as she stepped back to admire her work. You looked in the vanity mirror to see your finished look. The headdress felt like it weighed five pounds, but it was intricately woven into your hair, there was no getting it out now. You longed for the moment Rafael would rip it off your head as soon as you were alone in your honeymoon suite...or, y’know before then.
“Well we’ll see you out there ma’am,” One of them nodded as they gathered their stuff and scooted out the door, leaving you and Chloe alone once again.
“Well,” Chloe examined your head. “At least you won’t lose it…” She was cut off by a knock at the door. You started to open it when you recognized those eyes.
“Rafa!” You slammed the door and yelled through it. “What are you doing? We can’t see each other before the wedding, it’s bad luck,”
“Baby I think we’ve gotten all the bad luck already out of the way,” He called through the door. “And I really, really need to talk to you,”
Your eyes widened in panic as you looked at Chloe, who sprung into best friend mode. “Calm yourself, I’m sure it’s nothing…” She walked over and put her hands on your shoulders.
“Stop freaking her out counselor, are you planning to run? Tell me now so I can get out there and tie you to a chair,”
“What? No! I just-- Y/N please will you open the door, por favor?” He sounded seriously distressed, and he used his secret weapon: speaking in spanish.
You sighed and slowly opened the door, revealing Rafael in a gorgeous black and white tux, and the tallest top hat you’d ever seen.
“Well well well, Mr. Monopoly, don’t you look spiffy?” Chloe snickered, causing you to hit her while Rafael made an even more distressed face.
“I knew it, god it’s awful,” He sighed as he took it off his head and walked inside the room.
“So why are you--?” You started to ask.
“The mayor said it would ‘look better on tv’,” He scoffed in disgust.
“Oh Jesus--” You rolled your eyes. “Baby why didn’t you just tell him--?”
“Because that stupid fucking contract we signed said we would go along with everything he said for the rest of this whole shit show!” He growled at the mess he had gotten himself into. The mayor knew damn well how much more “favors” he would ask of him before he signed that contract, he just knew it.
“Well, if it makes you feel any better…” You pointed to your own head. Rafael’s worried expression turned into a relieved smile as he finally noticed the bird’s nest on your scalp.
“...Maria sprung this on me last night,” You pointed to it. “At least you can take yours off,”
“...Well, that does help a bit,” He half smiled as he examined your ceremonial headdress.
“Is that it mi amor, you’re freaking out over a hat?” You put your hand on his face.
“Well our children are going to see these photos! Videos! Our GRANDKIDS! They’re going to think their grandpa was a huge douche,” He cried overdramatically.
“...Is this what it’s like to be with me? Because I don’t love it,” You teased him.
“I’m serious, Y/N! This isn’t funny!” He gave you a pitiful pout.
“...What else?” You gave him an expectant look.
“What else?”
“All of this over a hat?”
“...Alright fine,” He sighed as he sat down on the lush couch. “I know what I said about all that mattered was me and you standing across from each other but--”
“But?” You gave Chloe a worried look.
“But I also wanted someone else,”
“....Who, Olivia?” You rolled your eyes.
“No!” He exclaimed. “No, my childhood priest, Father Hernandez,”
“Oh,” You said with a relieved sigh. “Well, baby why don’t you just--”
“Because they’re being super particular, stupid Catholics!” He got up and started pacing.
“Apparently THEIR priest Father O’Shannon is ‘assigned’ to this place. God forbid anyone dare replace him,” He grumbled as he continued to pace.
“So you--”
“And it’s just the last straw on top of all of this bullshit, all this bending. I can’t do it!!” He threw up his hands in frustration.
“....Baby, breathe,” You stopped his pacing and pressed your forehead against his, your own personal calming gesture.
“God I guess it is true what they say,” Chloe suddenly spoke up, causing you both to give her a perplexed stare.
“In a couple when one person starts to go off the rails the other one instantly becomes the calm rational one,” She gestured between the two of you.
“Hey, I am NOT--” He protested.
“Baby please,” You shook your head. “I almost forgot how high strung you were until this moment,”
“High strung?” He took offense. “What are you talking about?”
“You forget that I worked for you,” You giggled.
“I’m high strung at work?” He asked. The question caused you to erupt in laughter. “What?! Am I?”
“Oh no sweetie, you’re totally mellow,” You smiled sarcastically.
“How am I--?”
“Think about how much coffee you drink at work, Rafa,”
“I don’t see how that is relevant,” He huffed. He loved his coffee, so what?
“...Mmmkay,” You chuckled, kissing his cheek.
“Well whatever, kettle” He made a pouty face.
“Fair,” You chuckled. “But we’re talking about you right now, pot,”
“Hey, I think I have done more than my share of helping you through your little ‘episodes’, it’s your turn!!!” He crossed his arms like a kid.
“Oh really? ‘Episodes’?” You replied in a snarky tone. Chloe sensed the rising tension and sprung into action.
“Okay! I think that’s enough, Pot. Kettle.” Chloe stepped in between you. “You’re clearly both too high strung for this conversation,”
“He started it,” You stuck your tongue out at Rafael like a five year old.
“Okay now let's not turn on each other, then the terrorist headwear wins,” She pointed to the hat on the vanity and your head.
“....Well do you have a solution, Gandhi?” You raised an eyebrow.
“Actually,” She smiled proudly. “I think I do,” She grabbed her phone and began typing something into google maps.
“You wanna share with the class?” Rafael asked as he gave you a look, like you were supposed to understand her crazy.
“.....Have you seen The Office?” She asked them, then glanced at you with a knowing look. Your face turned into a huge grin as you realized what she was implying.
“Chloe, you’re a genius,” You grabbed her in a hug.
“I know,” She nodded with a cocky smile.
-----
Chloe popped her head out of the door, making sure the coast was clear. When she was sure, she motioned to the two of you out and down the hall towards the back door where you left the limo. You and Rafael got in, and Chloe began to shut the door when you stopped her.
“Aren’t you coming?”
“Someone has to vamp!” She pointed out.
“You're a good friend, Chloe,” You gave her a kiss on her head.
“I know,” She said boastfully. “Just hurry, my bubbly personality can’t hold them off for long,” She slammed the door and you were off.
-----
“...Fucking New York traffic! Estúpido tráfico de mierda,,,” Rafael began muttering under his breath. His childhood church in the Bronx was at least thirty minutes away with the busy Manhattan traffic. You put a hand on his knee to try and soothe him, but he was extra wound up by now. It reminded you of when you were just his assistant; he’d get this way when a trial wasn’t going his way and he felt backed into a corner. The worst days you’d seen him have at the office, where he’d suddenly take off for hours in the middle of the day….
That gave you an idea.
“Baby,” You snapped him out of his internal ranting monologue. He turned to you with a dismayed look.
“I’m sorry, carino,” He apologized, taking your hand that was placed on his knee. “I know I’m--”
“Can priests marry people outside of their church?” You simply asked him.
“....Like a closer church?” He looked at you in confusion.
“.....Actually, I was thinking somewhere closer,” You bit your lip with a smile as you took his phone and typed in an address that linked to the driver’s phone map. He glanced down at it and gave you a huge smile.
“You’re the best,” He gave you a huge kiss as the limo made a U-Turn.
------
Luckily Father Gonzalez used a bike for his transportation, so he was able to make it through traffic pretty easily. He met the two of you outside Central Park pretty soon after you got there.
“I appreciate you doing this for us, Padre,” Rafael hugged the priest tightly. “I didn’t want anyone else marrying us,”
“Claro, Rafael,” He smiled. “Of course! I was hoping St. Michael’s would have a change of heart, pero--”
“You know Catholics,” Rafael rolled his eyes.
“Si,” He nodded. “They’re almost as stubborn as you!” The padre chuckled. Then he noticed you.
“Ay, Rafa,” He gestured at you. “es este su prometido?”
“Si,” You nodded. “Soy su prometida,”
“Ay bien! Ella habla español!” Father Gonzalez smiled brightly. “So are you two ready?”
“Si, Padre,” Rafael nodded. “But first, we need the right backdrop,” He grinned as he took your hand and walked into the park.
----
It was the middle of the day on a Saturday so the park was full of families playing, joggers, street artists and the like. Luckily for you however, nobody seemed to want to see the penguins today. The enclosure was almost empty except for one elderly couple.
“Witnesses!” You beamed at Rafael as you calmly walked up to the two and tapped the woman on the shoulder.
“Excuse me,” You smiled sweetly. “Would you-- my fiancé and I, we’re supposed to get married in this huge chapel down the street from here, but it was just all too much circus so we snuck away so that we could just get married in our favorite spot here and--”
“Baby, too much detail,” Rafael laughed. He loved it when you would ramble on about something when you got excited, but you were on a time crunch.
“...Right,” You blushed. “Anyway is there any way--”
“You’d like us to be witnesses, dear?” The old woman smiled brightly at you.
“Yes, if you wouldn’t mind,” You smiled gratefully.
“Of course not!” The man with her chimed in. “Y’know, back in our day, we had to get married in secret too,”
You suddenly noticed that they were an interracial couple; a white woman and a black man. Your smile faded a bit as you thought of the hardships they must have been through, just to be together, similar to you and Rafael.
“Okay, we’ll do the fast version of this, mijos,” The Padre opened his Bible and began to speak, but looked at the two of you.
“Actually, you know you’re going to do this whole spiel in a little while anyway, why don’t you say your vows in your own words while you can?”
“Oh God,” You muttered, then gasped. “I’m so sorry! I--”
“It’s fine, senorita,” He nodded.
“I just...I’m not great, with the speeches and the speaking in public thing,” You twirled the one piece of hair hanging from your updo in your hand nervously.
“I mean, we’re not exactly in public, amor,” Rafael smirked.
“You know what I mean!” You hit him playfully. “I just...I want it to be perfect,”
“If you speak from your heart dear, it will be perfect,” The old woman assured you. “Just look into his eyes and say whatever it is you’re thinking,”
“....Well, maybe not ‘everything’,” The old man added with a laugh, giving you two a raunchy look. Good lord.
“Okay,” You took a deep breath and took Rafael’s hands, looking into his gorgeous green eyes.
“I...um….” You looked down nervously.
“Hey,” Rafael cupped your chin to look at him. “It’s okay, mi amor. It’s just me, it’s just us. Just like I said,”
“Just us,” You smiled, then began to start again.
“Rafael,” You took a deep breath. “It’s...it’s hard for me to make some big speech because the truth is, when I look into your eyes I forget everything. Every wrong decision, every hurdle we’ve been through, it all just...fades away, when you look at me,” You squeezed his hands tighter.
“You have done so much for me in so little time. People probably think that we’re insane because we’re committing our lives to each other after only really knowing each other for a few months, but the truth is it feels like a lifetime. I feel like I was born loving you, I just didn’t know it until I saw you,” His eyes were starting to water as your voice cracked with your own tears.
“I know that I have put you through so much grief, so much pain and...doubt,” You paused, wiping a few stray tears. “But you have never, not once, abandoned me. You’ve stuck through all of my crazy, all of our shenanigans--”
You glanced over at the old couple who were grinning ear to ear. You didn’t want to get into all the psycho drama you and Rafael had been through in front of total strangers, but he gave you a knowing look when you said ‘shenanigans’. He knew what you meant; because of course he did. You were connected.
“I’m actually really glad that you had your ‘freak out’ because for one it made me look like the sane one for once,” All of you chuckled. “But also, because it got us our chance to get married our way, in our spot,” You gestured to the cave around you.
“I remember the very first time you brought me here, I thought that it was done. We were done. I thought that our one perfect day was going to be just that-- one perfect day,” You began to choke on your words again as you thought back to that very first day, the day you “magicked” him.
“I never in my wildest dreams thought that--'' You glanced at the Padre and the couple again. “That we’d….start, again here,” You exchanged another knowing look.
“And I certainly never thought you’d propose to me in this place-- with a flash mob, no less!” The Padre and couple laughed in surprise, Rafael began to blush profusely, but you put a hand to his red cheek.
“Literally every single beginning we’ve had-- it started right here,” You wiped more stray tears, already knowing the woman back at the church was going to have to re-do all of it.
“And now it’s starting again-- for the rest of our lives,” You sniffled while Rafael wiped more tears from your face and then his own.
“...Okay I’m done,” You took a deep breath in and out as you smiled at Father Hernandez.
“Alright well then Rafa--”
“Oh wait!!!” You suddenly interjected. “Also, I love you,” You make an “eek” face. “I can’t believe I left that out,”
“...I’m pretty sure that whole speech was an ‘I love you,’ dearie,” The old woman patted your back with a reassuring smile.
“I agree,” Rafael nodded. “And to be honest-- I don’t think I can follow that,”
“Oh come on,” You rolled your eyes. “It wasn’t that great,”
“No it wasn’t great,” He shook his head. “It was perfecto,” He took both of your hands in his once more. “...All I can say is, ditto,”
“Ditto?” You laughed. “Real romantic, Rafa,”
“Well I can’t think of anything more than what you’ve already said!” Rafael shrugged with a laugh.
“Well, except this: You say that I’ve put up with you, and never abandoned you, but neither did you,” He pulled you closer towards him.
“You’ve put up with me plenty, and you could have walked away plenty of times. But you stayed with me. You fought for me. And I will spend the rest of our lives trying to be good enough for you, not the other way around,”
“You’re already good enough for me, Rafael,” You bit your lip as you tried your hardest not to kiss him before Padre said you could.
“Can I kiss her yet Padre?” Rafael read your mind.
“Calma, Rafa,” Padre chuckled. “Do you have rings?”
“Shit, the rings!” Rafael groaned. “Sorry, Padre,” He quickly apologized.
“Wait...baby,” You turned around and looked down at all the decorative stones that lined the bottom of the tank. You picked two up and handed one to Rafael.
“Pebbles,” He smiled at you. “Like penguins,”
“Ah, well then…” The Padre shrugged, having no idea what was happening but went along with it anyway. “I guess, exchange the pebbles now?”
You giggled as you placed your pebble in Rafael’s hand, then he placed his in yours.
“Well then, I guess by the power vested in me by God and the state of New York, I now pronounce you man and wife,” He shrugged with a smile. “Now you may kiss her, Rafa,”
“Gracias, Padre,” He grinned before pulling you into a passionate kiss, a kiss rivaling many of the kisses you had exchanged in this cave before now.
“Now, if you three would like to attend a circus, we’d be glad to have you,” You glanced at your three witnesses.
They looked at each other with confused glances, then shrugged and followed you and Rafael back towards the limo.
---------------
As soon as you pulled back behind the church, the Padre and the couple were shown to seats by one of the security guards while you and Rafael walked back to the bridal suite. Chloe ran up to the both of you before you could make it here, Rafael’s top hat in her hand.
“What the hell, you guys?!” She hissed, then realized you were in a church so she made a sign of the cross and kissed her fist.
“They’re about to start rioting!” She added.
“Sorry, sorry, Chloe,” You kissed her cheek. “You’re a good friend,”
"I want you to realize you've said that three times now,” She smiled proudly. “Be sure to tell all of your sexy eligible lawyer friends that, Rafael,”
“I’ll be sure to slip it in every conversation later, Chloe,” He smirked as he gave her a kiss on the cheek as well.
“Alright now take this magic hat and get down that aisle before the mayor actually kills you,” She shoved the top hat in Rafael’s hands and shooed him through the hall and towards the doors of the sanctuary.
“Alright,” She focused on you. “You ready to do this?”
“I mean…” You gestured to your messed up make up and the veil falling out of your hair.
“Aw crap,” Chloe grimaced. “Ok, well looks like you’re getting the Chloe special,” She went and grabbed her purse from the bridal room and pulled you into the ladies room.
After a few minutes you reemerged with perfect make up and the veil reattached to your hair like a nest. Hey, you just had your perfect ceremony. You could last a few more minutes with this thing.
“Alright, now you’re ready,” She brushed you off and opened the sanctuary doors to signal the piano to start playing the Bridal Suite.
The doors opened and Chloe took your hand as you both walked down the aisle together. The flashing lights and bright red dots from film cameras were starting to overwhelm you as you walked, but you focused on Rafael.
He was at the end of all this erratic tunnel of people gawking at you like a zoo animal. You just breathed in and out and kept your gaze locked into his; his smile was like a bright beacon in the darkness. Finally you reached the altar and he took your hands in his. You felt safe again; you’d always feel safe in his grasp.
“Dearly beloved, we are gathered here today…” The priest began to speak, but the only thing the two of you heard were each other, speaking volumes to each other with just your looks. It was just like Rafael had promised: Just you and him.
And it would just be you and him, forever.

[Stately Wayne Manor]
Jason: *helping Alfred clear out the dinner table* You think we should’ve asked Harley to stay for dinner?
Alfred: If you wished to see Master Bruce’s hair turn to grey as you ate dessert, I don’t see why not.
Jason: *burps loudly and fans his breath away* Whoops. Sorry, Alf. Just my way of complimenting your cooking.
Alfred: *carrying the dishes to the kitchen* Then perhaps you should come here more often, Master Jason.
Jason: *following Alfred* I'd rather not cause any trouble.
Alfred: *stops in his tracks and turns to face Jason with a stern expression* And you don't think it troubles me that you feel unwelcome here?
Jason: *takes the dishes from Alfred’s hands, sets them on the kitchen island, and pulls him in for a hug* Alf, hey... I didn’t mean it like that. I know you guys care about me, it’s just...
Alfred: *sobbing into Jason's shirt* We've already lost you once... Once is enough, Jason...
Jason: *tightens the hug and gently plants a kiss on top of Alfred’s head* I know, I know... I'm back, Alf. I'm back.

Dick and Barbara: *sitting on the carpeted floor in the study, enjoying the heat from the fireplace in front of them, going through a stack of photo albums*
Dick: *smiling fondly* Wow, these are old-old.... I should probably scan them before they crumble to pieces.
Dick: *stops at a page and points at a picture of Bruce and Jason on a boat, smiling, and holding up a tuna* Check this out, Babs... Aw, I love this one. I had a few days off from work, decided to spend it here. Somehow Jason convinced Bruce to take break from himself and go fishing.
Dick: *talking animatedly* So, there we are on Bruce’s huge fishing boat, the Bat-2-Sea -- And Jason’s starting to get seasick because he’s been hanging out by the edge, waiting for a bite for hours -- The persistence on that kid! --  And he finally gets one! A big one, Babs -- *spreads his arms* -- and it was pulling down hard like you wouldn’t believe, but Jason just wouldn’t let go! -- So Bruce drops the glass of wine he’s holding and runs to grab him --
Barbara: What were you doing?
Dick: Who do you think took the picture? As I was saying -- Bruce, he -- he -- *starts to laugh so hard that he tears up* trips over Jason’s line somehow and falls into the ocean! *slapping-the-floor laughing* The World’s Greatest Detective, in his Batwaders, drenched like a wet bird... *sighs happily* You should’ve seen his face!
Barbara: *turns the page* Oh, I can see it now. Still stone-faced, but wet.
Barbara: *stops at a page and giggles* Aw... Will you look at that?
Dick: *looks at the photo Babs is pointing at and chuckles softly* That’s adorable.
Barbara: Those scaly leotards fit him better than they ever did you, Boy Wonder.
Dick: *smirks* Whatever. But I have to admit, he did look great. He looked really... happy. I wish... I wish I saw more of him in action, you know? *voice breaking* I could’ve maybe trained him the way I did Tim and Damian --
Barbara: *rubs his back comfortingly* Dick...
Jason: *walks into the study* Dickie, I took some of your --
Dick: *clears his throat and wipes his eyes haphazardly* Hey, Little Wing!
Jason: Wait, are those our old family photos?
Barbara: *pats the empty spot beside her* C'mere.
Jason: *sits down and rubs his hands together* Where’s the one where Bruce goes kersplat in the ocean?
Jason: *flips through the pages and grimaces at his photos as Robin* You're not gonna use these to blackmail me, are you?
>>> *** <<<
Duke: *watches as his RPG character explodes for the fifth time in a row and shakes his head* You beat me again! You're so good at this game, man.
Jason: *snorts and puts his controller down* Dude, you weren't even trying. If I didn't know better, I'd say you were letting me win.
Duke: What? Naaaah... That's... Come on, why would I do that?
Jason: *gets up and shrugs, grinning knowingly* I dunno... 'Cause you like seeing me alive?
Duke: Yeah. It’s pretty awesome, actually.
Jason: *offers to bump fists* I gotta pack up. Good game, though. See you around, bro.
Duke: *exploding-fist-bumps with Jason* You too, bro.
Jason: *pats Ace the Bathound’s head as he exits the game room*
>>> *** <<<
Steph: *examining Jason’s face* You look really pale.
Cass: *pointing at various spots on his face* And you have a lot of... scars.
Jason: *sitting on a stool in front of Cass’s vanity dresser, staring at himself in the mirror and absentmindedly running a finger over the shirt-covered scar on his chest* Yeah? That bad, huh?
Steph: *grins* Nothing a little makeup can’t fix.
Jason: *rubbing his chin* You think so? I mean, I just came here to borrow a few weapons from Cass, but if you think I need a makeover...
Steph and Cass: *look at each other and squeal in delight*
>>> *** <<<
Tim: And this *holding up a minuscule gadget between his fingers for Jason to see* generates a force field over your entire body. The more the impact, the greater the energy generated. Schway, huh?
Jason: *nodding his head appreciatively as he takes the gadget and sticks it on the lapel of his leather jacket* Schway.
Tim: *proudly shows Jason a Bat-shaped breastplate * Now, this -- You're gonna love this -- It can turn you invisible to the naked eye for roughly 34.5 seconds, giving you time to do all kinds of offensive or defensive stuff. They won’t know what hit them, Jay. You’re basically gonna be invincible and Joker... Joker, he’s... he’s not... not gonna... *drops the breastplate unceremoniously*
Jason: *places a hand on Tim’s shoulder* Thank you, Timbo. Really. But I'll be fine out there. You don't have to worry about me.
Tim: Yeah? Can you promise me that? Because I don’t think I can live through another one of Bruce's meltdowns.
Jason: *chuckles softly* Aren't they the best?
>>> *** <<<
Jason: *staring at an empty grave layered with concrete in the backyard*
Jason: *rolls his eyes* I know you're there.
Bruce: *comes out of the shadows and stands next to Jason*
Jason: Why'd you keep it?
Bruce: Because I'm a sentimental old fool.
Jason: This is just... creepy. Even for you.
Bruce and Jason: *stare at the empty grave in silence*
Jason: I've forgiven you.
Bruce: *glances at Jason, who could’ve sworn his adoptive father’s eyes were bloodshot*
Jason: You know that, don’t you? I mean, I know we’re always going to disagree about Jok-- about him, and a few other things, but... You’ll always be family, Bruce. My family.
Bruce: *looks at Jason, smiling wearily*
Jason: *grinning back at Bruce*
Bruce: *puts an arm around Jason’s shoulder* Thank you... Son.
Jason: *pulls Bruce in for a tight hug*
Bruce and Jason: ...
Jason: Hey, remember that time you went kersplat in the ocean?
>>> *** <<<
Damian: *knocks softly on Jason's bedroom door* Todd.
Jason: *stuffing a duffel bag with clothes, homemade snacks, and weapons* Hey, kid, come in. I’m just getting my stuff ready --
Damian: These came from Mother. *drops a pile of books on Jason’s old desk*
Jason: *picking one after the other up excitedly* Tolstoy, Machiavelli, Sun Tzu, Shakespeare, Marx... No way...
Damian: They’ve been with me for a while. But since you rarely come over, they’ve been collecting dust and taking up valuable space in my room. -Tt-
Jason: *wiping the dust off with his shirt and hugging each one* She kept them... These were my friends back when I was in the League...
Damian: I didn’t realize we had more in common than just being my Father’s sons.
Jason: Wow. I have no idea how I’m supposed to bring all of these home. I mean, I got here on roller blades, for Bat’s sake --
Damian: *thrusts a piece of paper into Jason’s chest* This is for you.
Jason: *gingerly uncrumples it, revealing a painting of him and Damian*
Jason: *reading the writing in calligraphy underneath* “The Second Chance Robins”... *looks at Damian, feeling the tears well up in his eyes* You made this?
Damian: *looking down at his feet* When it’s my day... M-my d-day... Will you come over, too?
Jason: *gets down on bended knee to be at eye level with his little brother* Hey, buddy, look at me. Damian, look at me. Of course. Listen, we’ll do whatever you want. We’ll, um... We’ll take bad guys down together! Pull pranks on Tim! You name it, I got you.
Damian: Don’t make promises you can’t keep, Todd.
Jason: I promise that I’ll do my best, okay?
Damian: You could stay the night, you know. You’re home anyway.
Jason: *ruffles Damian’s hair and grins* I'd like that. As long as you hang out here with me. And I promise I won't tell anybody because it'll ruin our reputation.
~ * ~ * ~ * ~
If truth be told, @wingedskyes , Jason makes himself available on his Death Day. Because even if neither he nor his family and friends mention it, he knows that they need him just as much as he needs them.
Thank you for this Ask. It was both fun and just a tad bit heartbreaking to write.
And thank you, @warrior-of-the-blue-moon , for the nice addition.

Hello!! Could I request a number 7 and fluff for Nishinoya? platonic to romatic if possible? I'm a very friendly and energetic person. I'm very talkative and outgoing, and I tend to show my affection for others a lot! Thank you~~

prompt | #7- Animals
pairing | Nishinoya Yuu x Reader
words | 1.9k
author’s note | Hello! Here’s my first Nishinoya piece, so I hope it’s accurate! Enjoy~

“You promise?” You asked one more time for good measure, delight making your toes curl. “You promise?”
Nishinoya Yuu, your best friend- Rolled his eyes good-naturedly. “Yes! If you help me practice, I promise I’ll take you to the zoo next week.”
“Deal!” You grinned from ear-to-ear, picking up a ball from the net. “Here we go!”
The two of you were in the the backyard of your house, where there was a small volleyball court that your older brother used to practice in. You had dragged up a wooden board that blocked the view of the other side of the court, and Nishinoya was stretching his muscles in the centre of the court.
“Here we go!” You told him, taking a deep breath and sending an overhand serve straight at the wooden board. The ball bounced off the wooden board and changed direction in less than a second. It ricocheted towards the court, but before it could touch the concrete, your golden-eyed bestfriend dove for the ball, sending it up into the air.
A wave of thrill brushed through your body as you jumped, spiking the ball towards the board. It bounced off again, like expected, and once again Nishinoya was there to dig it up. The two of you repeated the spike-dig-spike-dig routine over and over again until one of your spikes shot out of court.
Pants clouded the air as the two of you caught your breath after an exhilarating five minutes of practice.
A spark glinted sharply in his golden irises as he looked up at you. “Again!”
»»——⍟——««
In the end, the both of you had worn yourselves out for the next three hours until your muscles were sore and you were ready to drop. Nishinoya’s energy seemed to never deplete. By the end of three hours, your mother hollered for the two of you to come for dinner- Yuu was at your house so often that your mother had started making dinner for him, too.
He did keep his promise, though.
One week later, at 5am in the morning, Nishinoya had greeted your mother, who was out early to feed the chickens, and let himself into the house.
“Y/N!” He whisper-yelled into your ear, making you jump and scream simultaneously. “Let’s go! We’re going to the zoo!”
You caught your breath and your heart, wanting to slap your bestfriend for scaring the hell out of you at the crack of dawn. “The sun isn’t even up yet!” You complained, burrowing yourself back into your covers.
“We’re taking an early train so we avoid the crowd!” He yanked your blanket away from you. “Come on, I’m skipping volleyball practice for this. Get up! We don’t have time to waste!”
A groan rumbled down your throat as you begrudgingly dragged your sorry ass out of bed. “How are you always this energetic?” You whined.
Five minutes later, the two of you said goodbye to your mother, and then the two of you were on your bike, Nishinoya cycling with your seated on the main seat with you sighing sleepily on the pillion. Both of your bags were tossed in the basket in front of the bicycle, jiggling against the metal frame as the two of you descended down a hill.
A smile spread across Yuu’s lips as you leaned forward, your cheek resting on his back as you dozed off lightly. His heart fluttered quietly while he biked on contentedly, trying to pedal softer as not to wake you.
“Y/N-chan.” He whispered, feeling your stir awake behind him. “We’re almost at the station.”
You blinked sleep away from your eyes as the two of you rolled up to the front of Sendai Station, the sun just barely rising over the horizon. “That’s fast.” You yawned.
“Of course!” He huffed. “You weren’t the one that had paddle up and down numerous hills.”
»»——⍟——««
“Look at that! We’re the earliest.” Yuu said triumphantly. You gave him a deadpanned look.
“Yuu, the ticket counter isn’t even open yet.” You told him dryly. “Come on, that coffee shop’s open. We could go grab some coffee and wait for them to open.”
He pouted as you dragged him into the shop.
“Sit. Keep an eye on the ticket counter.” You told him sternly, plopping him down at one of the tables next to a window that had a view of the zoo’s ticket counter. “Don’t go anywhere, Yuu.” You warned.
A soft laugh bubbled out your throat as you watched Yuu sit quietly by the window like a freshly-scolded puppy. “I’ll have... A mocha and a hot chocolate with extra cream, please.” You requested with a smile at the tired-looking barista.
“Here you go.” The barista told you with a sigh. “Enjoy.”
“You can stop looking so sad now, Yuu.” You flicked his forehead with your finger, grinning at him. “Here’s your hot chocolate with extra cream.”
He brightened immediately. “You do love me!” Nishinoya exclaimed victoriously as you rolled your eyes and stuck your tongue out at him.
“I do not.”
“You do!”
“I do not.”
“You do!”
In the end, you stuck out your tongue at him childishly, ruffling his hair affectionately. “Fine, I do.”
“Ha!”
“But that’s only because no one else would love an idiot like you.”
»»——⍟——««
Nishinoya bit his lip, deep in his own thoughts as he waited for the ticket counter lady to give him two tickets. Did you mean it when you said you did love him? And... Did you love him romantically?
“Sir.” The ticket lady snapped him out of his daze. “Here’s your tickets. The entrance is over there.” She pointed, giving him a weird look. It was not common to see teenage boys get up at the crack of dawn just to be the first one into the zoo.
“Y/N!” He called out to you, who was sitting on a bench, scrolling through your phone as you waited for him to get the tickets. “Here you go!” He looped the ticket around your wrist, holding out his for you to do.
“Don’t move.” You instructed, tying the plastic around his wrist. “Okay, let’s go!”
Nishinoya bounced through the entrance with you, the two of you too overly-excited for the security guard’s liking.
“Thank you!” You shot a bright smile at the security guard; Nishinoya dragging you off even as you spoke, already rambling about [your favourite animal]. “Oh my god, Yuu, slow down!” You panted, your hand slipping away from his as you stopped, panting. The libero of Karasuno’s volleyball team had dragged you across half of the zoo, having already memorised where the [your favourite animal] enclosure would be.
“Hurry up, Y/N-chan!”  Yuu grinned brightly. “If we hurry up, we might be able to see the [your favourite animal] before it wakes up!”
Your eyes brightened. “Really?”
“Yeah!”
»»——⍟——««
The two of you had eventually stopped running around like maniacs and had turned to walking around the enclosures one by one.
“What is that?” Yuu’s jaw dropped as he stared into the platypus enclosure. “It looks so weird.”
“That’s a platypus.” You snorted, speed-reading through the information panel next to the enclosure. “It looks like you.”
Yuu’s eyes shone brightly, his golden irises glistening like the sun. “You think I look special?”
“I never said that!” You reeled back indignantly. “Did you know platypuses are mammals but they lay eggs?”
“That’s so cool!” He exclaimed, jumping up into the air to get a better view of the platypus, who looked unamused at him. “Hello platypus! Y/N-chan thinks we’re both special!”
»»——⍟——««
“So cute!” You squealed, your eyes fixated on the giant panda that was munching happily on a piece of bamboo. “That bamboo looks very tasty, too.”
“I’m going to go steal the bamboo from it.” Yuu decided before you jerked his shirt harshly, giving him a stern glare.
“Don’t you dare steal someone else’s food.” You hissed at him, glowering. “The bamboo is very important to the panda! Look at it!” You pointed at the furry black-and-white animal. “He looks at the bamboo like it’s the thing he loves most in the world!”
Yuu nodded like he had just been enlightened about his purpose on the planet. “I see now! You’re right!”
“I wish someone could look at me the way the panda looks at the bamboo.” You sighed dreamily. Nishinoya turned to fix his golden irises on you, watching the way your [hair colour] hair swayed in the slight wind, feeling his heart flutter at the way you stared at the panda in utter adoration.
“I do.” He muttered softly.
“What was that?” You glanced up in surprise, not having heard what he said. “Yuu?”
He grinned brightly. “We’re totally buying panda plushies at the souvenir shop later!”
»»——⍟——««
“Thank you!” You squealed, jumping into Yuu’s arms, enveloping him with a bear hug. Other visitors around the souvenir shop shot the two of you weird looks, but the two of you were too absorbed in your world to notice. “It’s so cute!” You grinned, squishing the cheeks of your new panda plushy. “I’m going to name him Yuu!”
Nishinoya cackled victoriously. “You’re naming him Yuu because he’s cute like me, right?”
“Oh, keep dreaming.” You scoffed, whacking his head lightly. “Say one more word and I’m naming him Ennoshita.” An evil laugh rung inside your head as Yuu reacted, looking offended and horrified at the thought.
“You wouldn’t!”
---
“Yuu?”
He hummed in response, his feet constantly pushing the bike forward as the two of you rode out of the roads leading to Sendai Station.
“Thanks for today.” You mumbled into his shoulder, your arms wrapped around his waist. “And the plushy.”
He coughed, feeling a blush paint itself onto his cheeks in the shade of Nekoma’s uniform. “I was just repaying you for practicing with me. Practice with me again next week, and we’ll go to...”
“The fox village!” You suggested happily. “Squishy foxes with squishy cheeks.”
Squishing the cheeks of foxes didn’t sound very safe to him, but what the hell, Nishinoya thought. If any of the foxes dared to bite you, he’d rolling thunder them. “Sure!” He agreed quickly. He got to spend time practicing with you- And then he’d get to bring you out to places you wanted to go. Yuu really didn’t see any downside at all.
“And... About what you said at the panda enclosure... Did you mean it?” You asked suddenly, your voice getting softer as you burrowed your face into his back in embarrassment.
The bike screeched to a stop as Yuu pressed the brakes too suddenly, almost sending the two of you flying forward. “You- You heard that?” He turned to look at you with an incredulous expression.
“Y- Yeah.”
“Oh. Um.” He coughed awkwardly.  “Yeah.”
He squeezed his eyes shut, too scared to face whatever teasing remark you would throw at him. Instead, he felt your lips on his cheek, but by the time he shot his eyes open, you had already drew back, a fierce red on your cheeks.
“Um. I look at you like the panda looks at the bamboo too.” You admitted. “When you’re not looking.”
A grin slowly spread across his cheeks as he tried to keep his heart from bursting from the sheer amount of affection he had for you. “So. We’re going to the fox village next week?”
He turned back, pedalling up the hill with renewed energy as you wrapped your arms around his waist tighter. “Yeah.”
