You had either gone to refill your drink or was seeking the bathroom [you struggle to remember the fine details of the night you had met], laughing obnoxiously at some joke your friend had uttered, before walking into the man that would ultimately make you weak in your knees.

"S-Sorry-" You softly slurred, spilling your drink on the floor, a droplet landing on your heel.

At first it sounded as though an apparent swear seemingly seethed between his curved lips, halting himself before cursing you further, as he adjusted his thin framed spectacles, marvelling at you.

Abraham

He hadn't even planned to stay with you, his only focus was on earning his place among the gypsies. Yes, he lied to himself about liking you, about being obsessed even, but at least he had managed to keep his emotions at bay. Until now. When he learns of your pregnancy, he gets mad, takes time for himself to think. Then he sees how miserable he had made you and his turmoil quickly turns into guilt. He can't stay away from you for long, let alone hurt you. You could be together after all, happy, and hell, that baby is his. What other beautiful manner to make his claim on you is there?

Aemond

War was raging, and he took you as his companion because he could, because as Prince Regent, no one will dare say a word against it. He will pray for you and the baby, be there for the both of you until life takes him.

He isn't even surprised, you're his girl after all. It's not like he had planned it, but it was bound to happen at some point. Deep down, Tom is a family man, always taking care of his folks, a fact he is finally brutally made aware of when you tell him the news and a warm feeling fills his chest. Now he just have to find a way to get you a ring. Maybe he'll have to steal it?

Will

It wasn't supposed to happen. You were supposed to get sick of him like everybody eventually did, and he was supposed to remain detached. But then here you are, saying you want to keep it and he allows himself to hope. Hope that maybe you truly love him, that maybe he'll finally have something of his own, something to share with you. Maybe he'll be able to let his guard down, like he always longed to. With this news, he felt like he wouldn't be hurt anymore.

7. Micheal Gavey (Saltburn)- Won't lie, he is the reason I dragged my boyfriend out to see Saltburn and he begrudgingly agreed to go and much to my luck ended up really liking the movie. My favorite thing about Micheal is his weird mannerisms. (The way he says "Losers" along with the strange way he ate that crunchy bar!). He is weird and smart and you can imagine hasn't been super successful in the romance department. Giving him a little bit of that "Pathetic Nerd" thing that is quite sexy.

8. Abraham (Grantchester) - Abraham is possessive and old school and his facial expressions would have me constantly saying "Yes sir" I agree with the common head cannon that he would have a breeding kink because...... yeah he would.

i dont think i talk about damian a lot on this account but i really do love his character so much. do you ever have characters who just deserve so much better that you wish you could enter their universe, give birth to them and be their mother instead just so you could shower them with the love that they deserve? because thats me with damian. hes a little shit, and has an attitude as high as ewans hair but i really just want the best for him.

i just finished watching s2 ep 2 of sxf (and the new update of the manga) and it reminded me once again how precious and underrated damian, ewan and emile's friendship is. its just so sweet how they see damian as this amazing and awesome kid who is gonna be the best of the best. kids are so precious like that. i really love the dynamics of each of the children in sxf and i always love getting more episodes and chapters focused on their relationships and school life.

he is my baby. i want to give him the world and more.

Wait, rewritten how?? May I ask? Should I?

i wrote way too much sorry

they were rewritten to include shiv being pregnant, which hadn't been written into the season until that point. everything in 8-9-10 relating to shiv's pregnancy was an extremely hasty last minute addition, which is why it made no damn sense narratively when they dropped it into the beginning of 4.04, in a scene they filmed towards the end of shooting. every person who said in the interim between s3 and s4, shiv is not fucking pregnant, was in fact entirely correct, and they didn't plan to write it at all and it sticks out like a sore thumb in terms of succession's otherwise quite delicate plotting. which is especially disappointing given the huge payoff that paying close attention had during s3.

so, it scuppered their plot big time, but they just about clawed it together, if you ignore like. every emotional beat between episodes 1-7 lol. which is a real shame! i'm sure jesse had good intentions. but yeah, that's why they were rewritten. i think 8 and 10 weren't even rewritten to a substantial degree, but 9 is hanging by a thread in terms of cohesion - it's the only episode where they had any time to put 'oh shiv is also having a baby' scenes in, and reading the scripts it's just so clear that other stuff not only hit the cutting room floor but got swept away completely. connor is pretty much a non-entity after 4.08, for instance.

as for tom and greg (and shiv and matsson, and greg and matsson, and that whole mess of a love square) i think reading between the lines there are things missing. i can't say for sure what they were, but the script books were highly edited for publication, and no way is jesse ever going to personally give me a straight answer to the question 'what was shiv's actual arc in s4, before it became She Is Pregnant', or 'why did you prevaricate in the edit on tomgreg and tomshiv to the detriment of both, but mostly at the expense of tom, which felt really weird while watching the season because where the fuck did he go'. and yet, i think the denouement for both was really fucking good. stuck the landing despite taking a bizarre, last minute route there.

but yeah, if tom and greg did bang, it was 4.09. because the final scene for tom and shiv in 4.09 > first scene for tom and shiv in 4.10 makes very very little sense for either of them. it's like something else happened for tom at the end of 4.09 than what we saw. because the beginning of the finale he's with greg like yeah we're divorcing byeeeeee, and like wouldn't that have a lot more weight if he'd done anything other than be so eepy at logan's wake, while greg was crawling on his knees for tom to mencken and had that deleted scene with ewan. wouldn't greg almost betraying tom in the finale be higher stakes if they'd slept together, wouldn't it be more obvious and devastating that tom invites shiv into the car because she's suddenly more useful as his wife because of the decision she made at the vote... i simply think it would have been delicious.

huge caveat that this is just my thoughts. just my lil ol theories and thots. i read scripts and think about this stuff alot and have kept an eye on behind the scenes shenanigans. maybe shiv slept with matsson instead! maybe greg did! idk! but there are hanging threads that were snipped imo, rather than wonky plotting from the outset.

Omg ur love for Osferth!!!!! Ewan portrays him so well I’ve never loved a fictional character so dearly. In his earlier seasons he’s just a tall baby, I bet it would be so simple to make him flustered and speechless, but in s5 he seems to mature more and is just a ladies man, compared to how nervous you’d make him years prior- he’d stun you by pulling an uno reverse card and be the one to tease and make you shy away

We've taken quite the turn from the last ask

After years with the Coccham squad he’s certainly picked up on a few things here and there 😏😏. He’s certainly way more confident with the ladies but as we see when he runs after that cat fight he still flusters.

If you’ve been together since he first joined the squad then by s5 he’s defs become a freak in the sheets. I am a big believer in Dane character x Osferth simply for the corruption kink of it all.

This got a bit out of hand so juicy bits under the cut 🥵. I had more but my fucking laptop crashed!!!

When you first get together he’s like the biggest sub to ever sub but once you start corrupting him and he starts getting tips from the boys it’s all over.

sick boy is a useless silly little criminal baby boy punk who's addicted to heroin

he's one of the ensemble of the movie trainspotting which i would recommend with a whooole bunch of content warnings if you have triggers or squicks

it's an iconic movie based on an iconic book, about a group of scottish addicts who rail at the nature of the world around them and the hypocrisy of 90s capitalism (ohhh sweet summer children), but also double-cross each other, have anger issues, drag each other down, and fuck up their own lives in various ways -- the score is also a work of art!

sick boy's character in this story is someone who pretends to be generally unaffected by the life they're in, obsessed with james bond, and on the whole the somewhat shallow it-girl of the team, if you will, but there are a lot of strong clues in the first film that suggest that he feels far more than he lets on, and he goes through his own personal tragedy in the movie as well

but yeah he's kind of head-empty bimbo too

in the sequel, x amount of years later, the writing decided to focus more on him and his dynamic with the lead character, renton (played by ewan mcgregor), and where their lives have ended up now they're no longer youths who can push away the accountability for their own lives and the world around them. it leans more heavily on them having a lot of homoerotic tension, and having had A Past in which they were best friends and how becoming addicts gradually pulled them from one another, but maybe they'll find their way back again who knows, which is a little different from the first movie in which the outlook is generally quite bleak (they're both quite bleak, but the first one is by far the more tragedy-based narrative)

but yeah. trainspotting. amazing movie. unfortunately all your brother's edgy friends are into it too, it's kind of one of those "if your boyfriend's favourite films are american psycho, fight club, the matrix, and trainspotting, run" movies, but you know. don't hold that against it 😂

the sequel: a bit self-indulgent, but I'm the person being indulged and it's genuinely fun seeing these actors who've remained close throughout all these years return to some of their career-making roles, and explore a little more of the book lore + look, i read too much into it maybe, but both ewan mcgregor and JLM are recovering alcoholics, and seeing them as middle-aged men playing the parts of recovering addicts, it's... good. i think this movie is good, in a very different way to the first one. renton and sick boy do not make out, but there's a character who says they're definitely in love and ought to fuck, and she's so right for that

in conclusion:

4. If you could put this character in any other media, be it a book, a movie, anything, what would you put them in? Listen, I would put my babygirl in everything if I could. To be fair, he's kinda been in everything, movies, TV shows, books, games, comics, etc., you name it, Anakin Skywalker has barged his way into it. But I still want more of him. We all like to joke, "Anakin, you can't have a TV series of your own, the ENTIRE MOVIE SAGA IS ABOUT YOU." but I also genuinely would like a full TV series about Anakin. It's hard to find a point in his life that hasn't been covered, but I would love an animated mini-series covering his time as a Padawan I would love a live action series about Vader during the time of the Empire, just fully explore him at his worst and make me feel bad for the genocidal fascist asshole monster who is a "pathetic old man" underneath it all I would hand Lucasfilm fistfuls of cash for Hayden and Ewan to have a holiday special where they're Force Ghosts together and MST3K'ing the events of The Mandalorian and Ahsoka. I just want more of my babygirl however I can get it! 6. What's something you have in common with this character? Ego in the stratosphere, self-esteem in the toilet. Okay, I exaggerate a little, Anakin's not that egotistical, but he does tend to think he can pull off a lot of shit (and he's often very correct that he can) and I see him as someone who struggles with strongly believing he's good at stuff while also having the crippling self-doubt that comes with being terrified to do a lot of deep-diving into your own soul because it's scary in there and you're afraid of what you'll find, that you won't like who you are. It's taken me a long time to get past that, I've had to work so hard to believe my friends and family when they tell me that they love me and genuinely want me to be around, that I'm not just a burden to them, even when they have been nothing but supportive--I still struggle with it sometimes. I struggle with telling people what's really going on with me because I know the answers they're going to tell me and that they're right, but I don't want to do them, because it's hard and scary and uncomfortable. In part, this is why I get on Anakin's case so much (also, you know, the baby murder hits a very personal place for me), because I'm yelling at him for something that is striking a very, very resonant chord within myself, too.

I was thinking about how Shiv said that Tom’s mom loves her more them him (which Midwestern mom whose son calls her mommy loving the woman who wouldn’t let him visit love her more? No fucking way)

But I feel like the Wambsgans would LOVE Greg immediately. Like he would always be down for to visit and would constantly offer for them to visit (the power of loving midwestern parents with a home-cooked meal is SO GODDAMN STRONG, greg would have no chance). SPEAKING OF FOOD, midwestern parents love you eating their food especially when you go for seconds bc it means you really liked it and Gregs got that in the bag!! And like Greg is from Canada or has Canada roots and Canada politeness and niceties translates perfectly with Minnesotan-specific midwestern niceness and politeness. Plus Tom seems way happier and much more content with Greg and mama Wambsgans (and attorney Wambsgans) just wants her baby to be happy.

And I feel like Tom would jokingly be like…so you actually do love him more than ME huh, but secretly be thrilled that Greg gets along so well with his parents.

YEP this one. he's the one!

greg's kinda Unsure how to act around tom's dad bc he's not really. used to that kind of presence or how to respond to it but he settles soon enough when he realises he's kinda similar to tom. his voice intonation is almost exactly the same and it puts him at ease. both tom and greg grow to adore the time spent with family, sharing food and warmth. they have the real warmth now, not the artificial one ewan spoke about in his eulogy.

Staged 1 works well enough on its own but the second season is really essential as a companion piece upping the emotional ante (which is exactly how I feel about Good Omens 1 & 2 lol)

The opening scene mindfuck; The meta! We have reached levels of irony not previously seen possible

Who do I thank for the tacky Zoom interview show background? It deserves top billing

Celeb cameos in season 1 being all “hey! I like you!” in season 2 like “you are tearing them apart. I hate you. scum

Also the themeing of Michael Sheen and David Tennant being on their own “side” VS everyone else……….. Simon Mr. Writer Sir i see u and unfortunately i am in your walls

The writing feeling less theater-y works for the meta and I’m wondering whether they always had a second season in mind or if it’s just that well written

It ends on that meta moment between David and Georgia which I can only assume is to set up for the third season although I dunno if that was planned at the time as well. It’s ambiguous but not distracting if they didn’t make another one

tl; dr: Staged 2 is a unique and excellent addition to Staged 1. The added meta textual layer of the other celebrities breaking down their relationship based on Staged 1 allows for a lot of “hiding behind my hands so embarrassed” moments, but also by pitting them against each other, it reveals their actual love for each other through the bickering. Season 1 on its own is a nice vignette of its time but season 2 with it adds a tension and intimacy that really takes both over the top

Kinda dreading watching Staged 3 since it seems like people overwhelmingly like it less than the other two because of the loss of the Zoom format and constant arguing, but I’m already in this far deep so I’ll stick the landing

Woman’s Best Friend

“I’m telling you, Kensilina, you watch Moulin Rouge and your life will never be the same,” Deeks insisted as he unlocked his apartment door, a bag of takeout tucked under his arm. Kensi stood behind with their dessert.

“Yeah, that’s what you said about Hello, Dolly! too. I had the lyrics to “Before the Parade Passes By” stuck in my head for a week,” she replied grimly.

“You say that like it’s a bad thing.” Winking at her, he pushed the door open and they were immediately greeted by an enthusiastic Monty. He gave Deeks a greeting lick to the knee, moving past him to jump at Kensi.

“Monty, down,” Deeks admonished softly and Monty immediately dropped down, looking suitably chastised. “Sorry, he usually has better manners than this, but I guess he’s excited to see you.”

“It’s ok,” Kensi said, stooping to rub the top of Monty’s shaggy head. “I see you’re in need of a haircut like your father.” She looked up with a smug grin.

“Hey now, I’ve had no complaints from the ladies.”

“Oh my god, ew.” Kensi pulled a face as expected, still petting Monty, who’d rolled over on his stomach, his head lolling to the side with a look of absolute delight.

“Ok Mont, let Kensi get up.”

Monty whined softly in protest, but got up and padded into the den where his bed sat next to the couch.

“That’s the most energetic he’s been in years,” he commented, shaking his head.

While Kensi fixed dinner—dumped Chinese onto plates and grabbed beers from his fridge—Deeks dug out his copy of Moulin Rouge. When they were all settled in on the couch, Monty raised his head, sniffing hopefully in their direction.

“Uh-uh, buddy. Sorry, but you know the rules. You stay off the couch when guests are over,” he told Monty, who dropped his head mournfully.

“Oh, I don’t mind,” Kensi said, holding her hand out to him. Monty gave Deeks a brief look, then immediately ran over to her, hopping up l tl the couch between them,

“Alright then,” Deeks muttered, starting the movie.

About an hour later, Kensi’s eyes were glued to the screen as Christian and Satine’s tragic love story unfolded, a mostly empty plate on one side of her lap and Monty’s head on the other. Snuggled between them, Monty made the occasional sound of contentment as she stroked his head and back.

The other times Kensi had been over, Monty had been asleep or been too skittish to come out, so this was something of a revelation. Just like Deeks, Monty didn’t always get the best treatment based on his looks. It made Deeks’ heart swell a little bit to see Kensi love on him.

As he watched, Kensi bent down and kissed Monty’s head, ruffling his hair as she lifted her head.

“What?” she asked; it hadn’t even occurred to him to look away. Self-consciously, she wiped under her lip and glanced down at her shirt.

“Nothing. I just noticed you haven’t complained about the movie once,” he hedged. “You must like it.”

“Well, Ewan McGregor is cute and “Come What May” isn’t bad. The rest is a little weird though.”

“Sounds like a ringing endorsement to me.” Deeks grinned at her, and she rolled her eyes, reaching for another beer.

“Don’t get ahead of yourself, Deeks. Monty and I are withholding judgment for now,” she said firmly.

Deeks chuckled to himself, not commenting on the way Kensi tugged Monty into her side.

His partner was an absolute softie. And god did he love that about her.

I currently feel like I’m dying of sickness rn ): I’ve been running fevers/having coughing fits for the past three to four days. I hope it’s not covid or flu, but I’m testing it out tonight. ANYWAY~ all that to say, my fever dreams really be dreaming. I fell asleep holding my charging phone and then moved around in my sleep. Genyen - is down to clown with most kinks, so would be really enthusiastic about it
