Transformers International Nightclub - Melbourne, Australia (1980s)
Designed by David Raby Architects
“The club's futuristic design theme was the designer's three-dimensional response to the owner's program objective to create a market niche with a new style of amusement." Its attention-commanding entrance features an illuminated perforated metal stair-case suggesting ascension into space. It actually leads to the main two-story structure which surrounds a sunken dance floor. Gridded columns and cross beams feature black expanded metal over opal acrylic diffusers which conceal red, blue, rose, and magenta neon. A galaxy of space lamps are mounted on the perimeter walls, and an illuminated starship hovers over a central cocktail bar.
The bar itself features embedded neon. Surrounding the gridded structure and overlooking the dance floor is the mezzanine level with a cocktail bar and VIP lounges. Two circular sculptures of textured stainless steel and magenta neon lighting are projected from opposite walls. From above the dancefloor, a "spaceship" descends, hovers over the dancers, and flies out again. The 2.2-ton structure is sheeted in brushed aluminum and houses neon and argon tubes which, enhanced by static lanterns, create an interplay of direct and diffused light.”

Jasmine Apricot Macarons
150g almond flour, ground fine
150g confectioners sugar
55g  egg whites, one day old, room temperature
gel or powdered food coloring of your choice
55g egg whites, one day old, room temperature
150g granulated sugar
38g water
Jasmine White Chocolate Ganache & Apricot Vanilla Bean Confiture:
365g white chocolate 33%
156g heavy cream
10g jasmine pearl tea
40g unsalted butter, soft
4 oz. apricot vanilla bean confiture (If using store-bought or homemade apricot preserves, add ½ vanilla bean, seeds scraped).
Macarons:
Sift together the confectioners sugar and almond flour, in a medium sized bowl. Add the first portion of egg whites, but do not stir.
In a stand-mixer bowl, with a whip attachment, add your second portion of egg whites.
In a small pot, bring the water and sugar to a boil until it reaches 118C (244F) . Be careful not to splash any sugar-water on the sides of the pot to prevent crystallization. If you do, use a small pastry brush dipped in cold water to brush down the sides of the pot. When the syrup reaches 110C (230F), simultaneously begin whipping the second portion of egg whites to soft peaks.
When the syrup reaches 118C (244F), gradually, in a steady stream, pour the hot mixture into your whipping egg whites (set your mixer speed to medium-low and pour the syrup down the side of the bowl to keep it from being sprayed on the sides of the bowl by the whip). Turn up your mixer speed to medium-high and allow the meringue to whip and cool down to at least 50C. Meanwhile, combine your first portion of egg whites with the almond flour and confectioners sugar. If using, add your food color now and mix until the desired color is achieved. You will want to go darker with the color since the white meringue will lighten the finished color.
Fold your meringue into the almond-sugar mixture, in three additions. Add your first third, fold it to loosen the almond-sugar mix. No need to be gentle at this stage, as you want to fully incorporate the meringue into it so that it is easier to fold in the remaining meringue. Add your second third, this time folding gently, until you see no white meringue streaks. Add your last third, folding gently, until you see no white meringue streaks. At this point, you may add any additional food coloring that you’d like if you need to adjust the final color.
Now, check the consistency of your macaron batter. You want a glossy batter that resembles slightly runny cake batter. It should flow down nicely and with few breaks from your spatula when you hold it up high over the bowl. When the batter falls into the bowl, it should smoothly flow back into the batter in a matter of seconds. If it does not, simply give it a few more gentle folds and recheck your batter. Slowly, keep doing this until your reach the desired consistency.
Line a large sheet pan, with parchment paper or a Silpat. Prepare a large piping bag, with a small plain round tip, and pour in your macaron batter. Hold the piping bag vertically and begin piping 3/4″ to 1″ round shells onto your sheet pan, spacing them about 1/2″ apart. Once you have piped an entire tray, lift up the tray and rap it lightly on your work surface. This act will remove any air bubbles and help prevent them from bursting in the oven. Set aside for 30 minutes to allow a skin to form on the surface. The batter should not stick to your finger when lightly touched.
Preheat your oven to 163C (325F). Bake for 12 minutes, until the tops are set and don’t wiggle when you gently push them to the side. Remove shells from the oven and slide the parchment or Silpat onto a cool work surface. Allow them to cool completely.
Carefully, remove the shells from their surface and begin pairing the sizes up. They are now ready to be filled.
Filling:
Melt your white chocolate in small stainless-steel bowl set over a small pot of simmering water (double boiler). Remove from heat when it is just melted. Wipe any water off the bottom or your bowl carefully and do not to allow any water to touch the chocolate or it will seize up.
In a small saucepan, add the cream and bring to a simmer. Remove from heat and add tea pearls. Cover and steep for 5 minutes. No longer or it will become bitter.
Strain the steeped cream into a clean bowl and rescale cream back to its original amount. Discard tea pearls.
Pour steeped cream over the melted chocolate and using an immersion blender, combine the two. You may also use a spatula to combine the mixture, starting with small circles in the center and working your way out to the sides of the bowl to create a smooth emulsion. The ganache will thicken, become shiny, and develop a puddinglike consistency. Add the butter and incorporate with the immersion blender or stir in thoroughly.
Allow the ganache to cool and crystallize until the consistency is able to hold its shape, up to two hours or overnight. Place ganache and apricot confiture into separate piping bags, with the tips snipped off. Pipe a ring of ganache around the edge of the macaron shell and then pipe the confiture into the small gap in the center. Place on the paired-up “top” to the macaron, press gently until the filling reaches the edge of the macaron. Continue until all pairs are filled.
Place the filled macarons side by side on a tray, cover with plastic wrap, and refrigerate for 24 hours before serving. Remove them from the fridge two hours before serving to be enjoyed at the the ideal temperature.

Morning after with Gojo, and meet Geto.

Tumblr media Tumblr media
Waking in the morning, you stretch out, wiggling your hands and toes, as a smile spreads across your lips. Turning over, you expect to see Satoru lying on his side of the bed, but it’s empty and sheets hastily thrown around.
Sitting up, you take the time to look around the room. Obviously, by the bed, it’s his bedroom – or at least you hope. You would seriously be wondering if he brought you to some random room and left you here on your own if the room didn’t have his things scattered about.
Looking around, his room matches his side of the bed. Disheveled. Clothes overflowing from the laundry basket next to the dresser, a few manga and books strewn around. He seems like the kind of guy that would have a TV in his room, but as far as you can tell, that’s lacking.
There’s also no personal photos hung up or placed on the wall, dresser, or nightstands. Just simple decorations akin to a personal decorator using.
Standing, you bounce on the tips of your toes noting how good you feel. It must be a perk from being able to take so much energy from Satoru. There hasn’t been a time where you’ve felt this alive. No sore or achy muscles, no slight twinge of a hunger that’s still present.
You feel… satisfied. For the first time in as long as you can remember.
On the other side of the dresser is a door, which is cracked open, so you noisily peek inside. It’s a large walk-in closet with more clothes than you could imagine and an island filled with ties, watches, and other expensive looking items. At least it’s clean in there.
You hum to yourself and gently close the door, making your way to the other door, the bathroom. Inside has a large walk-in shower and a bathtub, both big enough to fit at least ten people. You wonder briefly if he’s ever had that many in at one time but quickly shake those thoughts away, not really wanting to know the answer to that question.
On the marble counter with his and hers sinks, you notice a packaged toothbrush and a hastily scribbled note with your name on it.
After brushing your teeth, you check yourself in the mirror, lifting his shirt to your nose. It still smells like him; citrus and pine, which makes you smile.
Walking out of his bedroom, you see it’s at the end of a long hallway, the doors to the other rooms shut. You decide not to open them, trying not to be a pest since you’re a guest in his home and you already looked around his bedroom and bathroom.
Satoru’s in the kitchen standing at the stove, making something, shirtless with only gray sweatpants on. You stand at the end of the stairs watching him, wondering how he’s able to make gray sweatpants look effortlessly sexy.
He turns, grinning wide as he eyes you from head to toe, liking the way you look in his oversized shirt. He also can’t wait to get it off you before he needs to leave for his mission, but unfortunately that’s going to have to wait because even though you filled one hunger last night, you hadn’t actually eaten anything since yesterday morning. And neither has he.
“Like what you see? You can take a picture.” He teases, turning from the stove to place several plates of food on the kitchen island.
“Sorry,” you mutter quickly, realizing you’d been staring for some time, “this is just so incredibly weird to me. How do you feel?”
“Like I just ran a very dirty marathon,” your smile is contagious as you take a seat across from him. He slides a plate of food across the island, determined to keep some distance, at least for now.
As you’re eating, you take the time to look over the rest of his space. A large open kitchen, filled with stainless steel appliances and marble countertops. The living room is large, maybe even larger than the kitchen with floor length windows leading out to a patio with a gorgeous view of the Tokyo skyline.
There are abstract paintings on the wall, judging by the size of his place, he clearly has money, and a place like this is sure to come with its own personal decorator.
“You know, you’re pretty attentive in bed. I didn’t expect that.” You point your fork at him while nodding after taking a bite.
“Yeah, well, I have a strict ladies first policy,” he flashes his eyebrows.
“Do you cook like this for all your women, or am I special?”
His kitchen is messy, with eggs, milk and bowls laying around from cooking this morning. And maybe you shouldn’t be too surprised, based on the sight of his bedroom, but you are. He could have cleaned as he cooked, but to each their own, you suppose.
“You’re certainly something, Infinity.” He teases while you groan and roll your eyes, getting out of the seat to put the plate in his sink.
You don’t make it far before he cages you in, hands splayed on his counter, on either side of your waist, leaning in closer and closer with a salacious grin, eyes looking over your face, like he’s trying to memorize every feature, every pore.
And then you’re facing the counter, before you’ve so much as registered the heat of his body on your front. He’s so incredibly close now, lips ghosting past the fabric of his shirt on your shoulder, up your neck to your ear.
It feels as if he’s pressed up against you, even with his cologne infiltrating your senses you know he’s not. It’s lacking the warmth his body had last night.
“Has anyone fucked you as good as I have?” He whispers in the shell of your ear, a shiver making its way between your legs.
He pushes into you now, the overwhelming force dissipating, his hard length pushing into your ass as his hand slides between your legs, running a finger between your folds.
Trying your best to concentrate, you shake your head and gasp, leaning into his shoulder as he presses gently on your clit, letting out a low chuckle.
“Are you always this wet?” He purrs, eyes lidded with lust as he kisses along your jaw, wondering if this is special, just for him.
He should give you some kudos for being able to distract him so effortlessly because he didn’t register the lone person walking down the corridor to his apartment, let alone his front door opening.
“Fuck,” Satoru groans quietly, taking a deep breath resting his forehead against your shoulder, “really, just walking in, Suguru?”
“How was I supposed to know you had someone here?”
“You couldn’t feel her?” Satoru sighs, adjusting himself before pulling away.
“You couldn’t tell I was coming down the hall?” The man retorts as you adjust yourself and feel your cheeks heat in embarrassment of getting caught, quite literally with a hand between your legs.
The man is tall, almost as tall as Satoru with his black hair pulled into a bun with a small section left out, dangling in front of his face. He’s in a black uniform similar to what you’ve seen Satoru in before, but with baggier pants.
Looking at Satoru, you hope there’s some sort of explanation, but receive nothing. In fact, he doesn’t even look horrified like you do, he’s standing with his hands in his pocket, bickering with who you assume is his friend, without a care in the world.
That’s fine, you’re humiliated enough for the both of you.
“You cooked?” Geto questions with a raised eyebrow, looking around at the mess in the kitchen as you excuse yourself to go get dressed.
Satoru shrugs, leaning against the kitchen counter, crossing his arms, “neither one of us had eaten since yesterday morning. I was hungry.”
“Quit acting like a love sick bitch over some girl you just met.” Geto scoffs, “she’s not even one of us.”
Satoru narrows his eyes at his friend's comment and clicks his tongue. As far as he’s aware, the two of you haven’t met, aside from just now, so he’s not entirely sure about this disdain Geto already feels towards you.
As you make your way back down the stairs, the man looks to you with a gentle closed eye smile, extending his hand to you.
“Sorry for the interruption. I’m Geto Suguru.”
You smile back, and shake his hand, introducing yourself as well before awkwardly turning to Satoru.
“Have you, uhm,” you look to Geto, pursing your lips before turning back to Satoru, and whisper “have you seen my panties?”
When you went upstairs, you found your clothes laying on the chair in the corner of his room, evident he had tidied up, at least a little, before you woke up.
He chuckles at your question, “no, babe, but I’ll let you know if they turn up.”
You turn and smile at Suguru, giving him a small wave goodbye as you walk to the door with Satoru, ready to leave. Geto nods and waves back before walking to the couch, turning on the TV.
“Thought your panty stealing days were over in high school,” Suguru chuckles as Satoru walks back in through the door.
“I have no idea what you’re talking about.” He smirks before going upstairs to get dressed.
Tumblr media
After leaving Satoru’s apartment in the morning, your day was fairly uneventful. You gathered the documents you needed to bring with you to the school on Monday and got ready for your last shift at the club.
Now, you stand behind the curtain in a gold string shot bikini as a little farewell gift to your regulars, and as a way to make as many tips as possible. The outfit leaves very little to the imagination; you might as well be naked on stage right now.
“Ladies and gentlemen, please put your hands together for Infinity! She has been number one in our private dancer line up 7 weeks in a row. And unfortunately, tonight is her last, so be sure to get one while you can!”
In the middle of doing your routine, you see a certain white-haired sorcerer sitting in the front row, once again. This time, leaned forward, elbows on his knees, lips parted slightly, watching you intently on stage.
After the routine, you continue on with your nightly rituals of going to the bar for a drink and making rounds in the club until you decide you’re ready to leave for the night. A part of you had hoped Satoru would follow you to the bar like he did the previous night, but he didn't. Rather, when you looked to where he was sitting during your routine, he was gone, unable to see his white hair anywhere.
Once you’re done, you decide to count your bills and head to the back when one of the managers flags you down.
“That man, there,” he points to the chair Satoru was sitting at which now has a head of white hair back at it, “paid good money to have a private dance with you tonight. Make it worth his time.”
“Of course,” you smile and go to the back to put the money up. Curious, you count what he handed you. This time it’s more than enough to pay rent and bills for the next several months.
“What the fuck, Satoru?” You whisper to yourself as you put it away. Clearly sorcerers make a good amount of money, which is something to look forward to.
Looking in the mirror, you make slight adjustments to your hair and outfit and head back out. Of course Satoru went to your manager to pay, rather than to you. All so you have to be the one to walk up to him to initiate the conversation.
Cocky bastard.
Walking behind him, you trace your fingers gently over his shoulders, feeling how silky his suit jacket is.
“Hey, there, big guy. Have I seen you around here before?” You tease falling into his lap, earning him scornful looks from the other men.
“Once. But you’re so busy and popular, I don’t expect you to remember.” He teases back, running a hand up your calf to your thighs, your body responding automatically to his touch.
“You’re not allowed to touch me,” you whisper, running your nose along his cheek, until you get to the shell of his ear, “unless I ask for it.”
“My apologies miss,” he grins as he holds his hands up defensively.
Across from him, you recognize Geto, and finally take the time to get a good look at him.
He has a jawline sharp enough to cut through the thickest steel, feline-like eyes, and a smirk plastered on his face that’s sure to make you weak in the knees, if you were standing.
He’s unbelievably attractive with his gauged ears, nose ring and dark, mischievous eyes.
These two are the most handsome men you’ve probably ever seen in your life. And fuck if Nanami isn’t up there right alongside them.
“Good to see you again,” he greets with a pleasant smile and nod of his head before taking a sip of his drink, watching you over the rim of his glass.
Similar to Satoru, Geto’s arms are toned and defined, only where Satoru has no tattoos, you can see the outline of what looks like a tail on Geto’s forearm, exposed from the rolled-up sleeves of his white button up shirt.
You smile as you wrap an arm around Satoru’s shoulder and continue with your act, “a little birdie told me you wanted a private dance. Seems you paid enough for me to dance all night long. Is it for the both of you?” You run a finger along Satoru’s equally sharp jawline.
“Just me. Didn’t want anyone else to have the pleasure,” he says coolly, taking off his glasses so he can get a full unimpeded view of the outfit you’re wearing.
“Oh~, are we jealous?” You goad, flashing your eyebrows.
“I don’t get jealous,” you swear you can hear Geto chuckling, but when you look over, his attention is elsewhere, on one of the dancers walking around, “also, I brought you a little something,” he leans over and grabs a small bag, handing it to you.
It’s nothing special, just a black gift bag with light blue tissue paper. You look at him with an arched brow and questioning look. Looking inside, you see an outfit, your face not hiding your confusion as you pull it out.
“Uniform for Monday,” he clarifies, as you give a mix between a scoff and chuckle in response.
“Had to bring it here while I’m working?” You ask incredulously.
“Well, we were interrupted earlier. There’s more in the bag.”
Narrowing your eyes, you remove all the tissue paper and completely take out the uniform. At the bottom of the bag sits a box of plan b.
“Wow. Kind of surprised to see this in here, since you seemed pretty into trying to get me pregnant last night.”
He frowns, “that was the sex talking.”
“Yeah, whatever, fake breeder. Besides, I already took one.”
He shrugs as he takes the bag back and puts it on the ground, before placing his palms back to your hips, “gave me an excuse to come back and ask you to come over after work.”
You think about it for a minute, while watching Geto smile and interact with Charlotte, a tall thin stripper with blue hair, he was watching around the club earlier.
You kiss your teeth and turn back to Satoru, “can I use your big ass shower?” Might as well try to sweeten the deal.
“If I say no, are you going to come over?”
“Nope.”
He scoffs and rolls his eyes while Geto chuckles, clearly listening in on the conversation after Charlotte heads to the back.
“Just using me for my stuff,” he complains with a pout.
You shrug, “didn’t get to use it last time.”
“Fine. I’ll let you use the expensive shampoo too.” He says wryly.
You stand and grab his hand to lead him back to the dance room, “I’ll think about it.”
Tumblr media
Satoru texted you his address before he left the club in case you decided to go over after work. You debated for a while, just going home, or going to his place but ultimately decided to go see him.
Now you stand in front of his apartment building, looking up from the street.
You sigh and make your way to the door, planning on having to be buzzed in, but a doorman opens the way for you, “the elevator is this way.”
Of course he would tell them he’s having a guest over this late at night, so there’s no question as to who you are and what you’re doing there.
The lobby is luxurious, definitely making you feel out of place, never having been in a place this expensive before. There’s a chandelier in the center of the lobby and the vases, statues and pictures all look like they’re worth more than your apartment.
At his door, you pause and think over your options again.
On one hand, this is new territory, being able to see someone you’ve slept with again. Is there any harm in indulging? Being a little selfish to experience something new?
On the other, he’s about to be your coworker, who you’ve already slept with, and that’s a new type of relationship you’re not entirely sure how to navigate.
Sighing, you pinch the bridge of your nose as the door opens. Satoru cocks his head with an amused smile.
“Were you just going to stand there all night?”
“I was just… I don’t know. Shut up.”
He laughs and allows you in, taking off your shoes and placing them on the rack by the door before looking around. The apartment is as you remembered. Large open floor plan with living room and kitchen, stairs going up to the bedrooms. A balcony with what you know will be a gorgeous view even though you haven’t been out there yet.
Satoru gets out two glasses and grabs the open bottle of wine on the counter, pouring its contents into each cup before handing you one, looking you over.
“To be honest, I was hoping you were going to show up in that outfit you had on at the club.”
You smile and shake your head, accepting the drink from him. You were going to wear it, but the material was so thin, when you were getting dressed, the straps broke.
He pouts slightly before changing the subject, “so… can I get Chastity’s number? I should have gotten it while I was at the club earlier.”
“Sure, if I can get Geto’s number.” You retort, watching him carefully as you take a drink.
“You’re not his type. Besides, he went home with Charlotte,” He answers quickly, a flash of annoyance crossing his features. But as quickly as the expression came, it went. “Anyway, what kind of movies do you like?”
That’s a subject change if you’ve ever experienced one.
“We’ll get to know each other at work. Come on, take a shower with me.”
“Oh, right to getting naked. Got it.” He grins, eyes bright with amusement.
“Is there a problem with that? Thought you wanted to fuck, so let’s fuck.”
You walk off towards his room, shedding your clothes along the way. And how is he supposed to say no to that? So he dutifully follows behind with a smirk and a quick “yes, ma’am.”
Staying true to his word, he let you use the expensive shampoo and body washes, with names you can’t pronounce; they smell sweet, like pineapples, which was a nice surprise.
Of course, when you were done washing your hair and body, he has you trapped between him and the wall with your legs around his waist. The shower head rains water onto you, making it hard to keep your ankles locked; his own hands on your ass and hip holding you up, losing their grip as he continuously pumps into you.
After a particularly hard thrust, your legs slip from around him, causing you both to almost fall over as he catches you, hips never stopping, smiling, and giggling between kisses as you both work to maintain your footing again.

14 Ways To Live A Healthier Life That Anyone Can Do
Use cast iron, stainless steel, glass, and ceramic cookware/dishes. Use wooden and steel for the utensils. Ditch the plastic and chemicals! They are even finding microplastic in the blood of newborn babies! If you can't afford to switch, switch slowly and buy second-hand! These materials will last through generations!
Buy and cook more fresh, high-quality food. Stop buying premade and processed garbage! The hidden massive amounts of fake sugar and additives in everything is far more damaging than a little bit of extra grass-fed butter or grass-fed meat on your plate. You can find local and even organic produce and meat for cheap at your local freshmarket, mexican grocery store, or asian grocery store. Aldi and Trader Joe's are also healthy yet cheap stores! You will also be surprised how little time it takes to cook versus having something pre-made, and with home-made food you'll have control over exactly how much sugar, fat, etc you have in a given meal. Neither of these are bad in moderation, but the key is moderation!
Prioritize your health and try to create less stress. Brush and floss your teeth, take care of your skin, eat as well as you can, move more, and sleep enough. These are things you should be doing AT MINIMUM to stay healthy. Stress also has a huge impact on health, so it is important to do your best to lower everyday stress and balance your hormones.
Do things that make you feel good. This ties into the less stress philosophy and the rule of everything in moderation, and this looks different for everyone, but generally focus on hobbies and habits that are good for you overall and dont cause addiction or mental health issues. The more things you incorporate into your life that you enjoy, the more you will enjoy your life.
Be aware of your feelings and honor them. No ignoring how you feel deep down! Notice what makes you smile and what makes you sad. Feel it all and try to see what your brain and body are trying to communicate to you about things. Your emotions and thoughts have a purpose, try to see what they're saying.
Try to wear or use more organic materials. Try to use cotton, linen, wool, etc for your clothes, sheets, and more. For jewelry try to use gold, silver, steel, copper, etc. Drop the acrylics and plastics. Invest in your clothing and wear quality materials - your health and wallet will thank you.
Try to kick any drug or alcohol habits. We only have one body in this lifetime and these things WILL catch up to you healthwise. The short-term dopamine is not worth the long-term consequences. Ask anyone who's suffered from their decisions from when they were younger.
Spend more time in nature. Being outside has many health benefits and it does incredible things for mental health. Find a place you can visit outside that brings you peace. Try taking a daily walk.
Learn to set boundaries for yourself. Including towards yourself! If you are pushed past your limits of exhaustion, honor your body and rest. It is okay to have soft, flexible boundaries, or hard boundaries, but they are rules we put in place in regards to ourselves to keep ourselves safe and happy! IE - "If I need sleep I will not keep pushing myself and I will go to sleep" or "I will not put up with being yelled at and I will remove myself from that situation".
Walk as much as you can, while you can. Try to opt out of convenience when possible and walk a little further to the front door of the store or try incorporating a daily walk into your routine. Moderate exercise is great for our health!
Do something daily that will exercise your brain. Whether it is a fun crossword puzzle or just something in your daily life you need to problem solve, do something that is going to flex that brain power and keep those pathways firing. If we don't use our connections, we literally lose them over time!
Talk to at least one person a day for at least 5 minutes. We are social creatures that thrive off community, so it is extremely important for our mental health to find connection with others and feel seen and heard and like we matter. Not only that, routinely reaching out to others will help you make and maintain relationships of all natures!
Educate yourself. Learning shouldn't just stop after you finish schooling. You should continually be trying to further your knowledge about yourself and the world around you. You live in the age where information is readily available all the time, so make an effort to use it to better your life, and learn how to sift through the misinformation as well. Not knowing how to do something is no longer an excuse as an adult when you can easily look it up or ask for guidance.
Consume more positive media and less media overall. What we watch and listen to really affects our thoughts, moods, and subconscious. There is a reason upbeat music motivates us! Try to keep your media exposure to uplifting and feel-good things rather than ones that cause anxiety or sadness.

I’ve been really busy and unable to post much recently, but Nori and Kombu had their first eggs together and just finished sitting on them! (They were swapped with fakes, the eggs not hatching doesn’t bother pigeons).
More about their setup:
They live in a 48” x 30” x 32” dog crate with double doors, one on the end and one on the side. I hung an old sheet on the back to protect the wall from the birds.
Tumblr media
On the left side they have two perches, both from Flat Perch. One is a corner perch while the other is a rectangle attached to the front door. Some various hanging toys with different shapes and textures, along with bells because they really enjoy these sorts of things. I plan to replace some of the older ones soon, I’d like to change them out every so often. They also have some cat toys on the floor, balls with bells in them. They have a mirror, since pigeons don’t have issues with mirrors this is a great option for them to get some brain stimulation as well as to help Nori divide his attention instead of completely focusing on wowing his lady all of the time, because he is very intense, in front of the mirror is a brick, if Nori is bow-cooing in the mirror he spins on the brick which helps him file his nails down so I have to cut them less often
I use a stainless steel dog bowl for their water since stainless steel pet bowls have been shown to harbor the least bacteria, between them and glass + plastic. The bowl is also big enough for them to sit in and bathe if they wish, which can be messy but I would like for them to have the option. For the food dish I use a flower pot saucer, although I would like to get a larger one to help prevent them from flinging seeds out of it more. They are good dishes for food, because they help wear down the beak tip! However they are porous so I would recommend cleaning them with vinegar every so often. They also have a cheap hanging plastic bird dish that I cut the perch part off of, these are intended for parrots but aren’t great because they don’t stay put anyway. I used a soldering iron to poke two holes in the plastic to zip-tie it into place and I just cut the zip-ties when I need to clean it. It doesn’t get dirty very quickly because all I put in it is grit.
Tumblr media
On the right side of the cage is where they have their potential nesting spots, since it’s good to offer two. There is a cat hut on top, and a cat bed below. The cat hut is not machine washable which is why it has a towel inside, although I can vacuum it out with a brush attachment to agitate as much of the dust out of the fibers as possible. The bed below is partially machine washable, the cushion being the part that is. The PVC pipe structure used to have its own bed that attached to it properly, but due to that not being machine washable and having a white interior, I threw it out. The moon hanging down is apart of the original stuff the structure came with, as it is attached to the fabric that creates the top “platform.”
There are more toys on this side, some various bird toys including the well-loved seagrass one, as well as some beads I received at a pride festival that Nori seemed interested in. In front of the hut up top I would like to put a concrete perch with a rough underside, to help them file their nails more as well as make it slightly easier to jump from the perches into the nest. On the floor there is a tissue box in which I place strips of cut up cardboard tubes, which my birds like to use as nesting materials. I feel that this is a good way to recycle these otherwise “garbage” objects. In front of the tissue box I placed a brick to give them some leverage over the box, help file their nails, and help keep them from flipping the box.
I am always open to questions or ideas! Thanks for reading.

Cooking:
Too Salty
For soup dishes, dilute with water. Add a raw cut potato while cooking to absorb salts.
Add acidity with white wine vinegar or lemon.
Soak uncooked meats that are too salty in water for 2 hours.
Add a creamy component like avocado, sour cream, or heavy cream, if possible.
Too Spicy
Add dairy like sour cream, mayo, or plain yogurt.
Add some texture like rice or quinoa. Add a little sugar.
Stir in a tablespoon of nut butter.
Add more of the non-spicy ingredients included in the recipe.
Too Sweet
Add lemon or lime juice to balance sugar.
Add fats, such as olive oil or avocado.
Do NOT add salt.
Too Sour
Add a bit of honey or sugar to dishes with excessive vinegar.
Add chopped carrots to overly acidic sauces.
Poor Searing
You may be flipping the meat too soon or too often. It is ready to flip when your spatula slides underneath easily.
Make sure the pan is hot enough before adding meat. Wait for oil to ripple. Medium to medium-high quickly cooks the outside while sealing in moisture.
Food is Soggy or Doesn't Brown
Overcrowding a pan prevents steam from escaping and increases moisture. Make sure there is no overlapping.
Deep-Fried Food Too Greasy
Make sure the frying oil is heated to between 325 and 400 degrees. Hotter oil repels water.
Frying in smaller batches helps maintain hot oil temperature.
Rubbery Hard-Boiled Eggs
Immediately submerge cooked eggs in cold water to halt the cooking process.
Overcooked or Soggy Pasta
Heat oil in a large shallow pan and add drained pasta.
Add plenty of salt to the water. This helps prevent sogginess by roughing up the surface.
Baking:
Uneven Cake
Wrap Bake-Even strips around the pan, or make your own – cut a towel into strips, soak in water, and tie around pan.
With a clean paper towel, gently push down on the raised top of a baked cake while still hot. oven. syrup.
If top of cake is cracked, carefully slice it off with a serrated bread knife.
If cake is tasty but too crumbly, try making a trifle by layering cake pieces in a deep bowl with whipped cream and fruit.
Cracked Layer Cake
Cracks in cakes are usually caused by a too-hot
Dry Cake
Poke holes in the top and brush with simple sugar
Not Baking Evenly
Make sure dough is rolled and distributed evenly.
Check if oven temperature is accurate with an oven thermometer.
Test for hot spots. Toast slices of bread in the middle of the rack and note more toasted areas. Avoid these spots or rotate pans while baking.
Cookies Spread Too Much
Let butter soften to room temperature for about an hour. Don't microwave.
Place eggs in warm water for 10 minutes to reach room temperature.
Make sure baking powder and soda are fresh and active.
Chill the dough before baking.
Weird Texture
Sift flour to aerate it out for consistent measurements. Level with the flat edge of a knife.
Use the right kind of measuring cup for liquid and dry ingredients.
Egg Whites Won't Fluff
Use room temperature eggs.
Use a copper, stainless steel, or glass bowl and dry mixers.
Whip at high speed until stiff peaks form and stay when you lift beater out of the bowl.
Sunken Baked Goods
Put batter in the oven as soon as it is ready.
Do NOT open the oven door while baking.
Make sure you use the right amount of rising agent.
Too Firm and Chewy
Avoid over mixing the dough or cranking up the speed of your mixer.
Mix wet ingredients first, then add dry ingredients. This prevents the over development of gluten.
Cookies Harden After Cooling
Make sure oven temperature is accurate with oven thermometer.
If using a dark cookie sheet, reduce temperature by 25°F.
Grease cookie sheets sparingly, or use parchment
Storage Changed Cookie Consistency
Always cool cookies completely before storing.
Don't combine crisp and soft cookies in the same container.
Store in airtight containers.
Store soft cookies with apple wedge to retain moisture.
"Re-crisp" crisp cookies by baking at 300°F for five minutes and cool on rack.
Don't refrigerate cookies unless they have a cream or custard filling. paper.
Melted Chocolate Clumping
Add a small amount of vegetable oil and stir.

My Kitchen Essentials
One of my favorite things about having my own apartment has been having my own kitchen. Furnishing the rest of my apartment was an expensive and sort of stressful process. The kitchen however has been a lot more fun because I inherently find kitchen gear more interesting and had enough of the basics to get started without breaking the bank. Because I keep my meals simple and only work with ingredients that I enjoy, I genuinely love cooking for myself. I shared my peanut butter overnight oats and tofu rice bowl recipes in a post about Sunday meal prep a few months ago, but am hoping to share more of my go-to meals in a proper recipe format.
The core essentials that I brought from home include a 10-inch cast iron pan, a 1.5-quart stainless steel pot, a small wooden cutting board, a pairing knife, a chef's knife, and a pair of scissors. I also brought a basic set of dry measuring cups (¼ cup, ⅓ cup, and ½ cup) and measuring spoons. While I haven’t done any baking here and don’t follow recipes when cooking for myself, the measuring cups have been really useful for cooking various grains. A few items that I brought but haven’t used include a lemon juicer, a garlic press, and a silicone pastry brush. As for non-cooking kitchen basics, I was fortunate enough to be handed down a set of both dishes and silverware and to be gifted a nice wooden salad bowl. I also brought a utensil crock, a mini teapot, two mugs, two glasses, and a few food storage containers from home.
To further round out my setup, I picked up a sieve (which I use for rinsing rice), half and quarter-rimmed sheet pans (which I currently primarily use for baking tofu and green beans for my rice bowls), a wooden spatula, and a potholder. I love cheese, so a personal essential of mine is a grater. I use it to grate cheddar for my cheesy polenta (which I serve with chicken apple sausage and peppers), pecorino romano for carbonara, and parmesan for Caesar salads among other things. I may eventually add a box grater to my setup, but have thus far been happy with this paddle-style grater that I picked up on my first full day in Washington State. Another item that I bought immediately, but have not personally used is a pair of kitchen tongs. (They did come in handy though for a work picnic). While I don’t regret the purchase per se, this just goes to show the true value of starting with the bare minimum and slowly building out your setup as you discover the limitations through experience. Other kitchen essentials that I picked up but that aren’t directly used for cooking include an airtight container for my rice, a glass food storage container for my lunch, a dish drying mat, sponges, and dish soap.
It’s not essential, but one fun recent addition to my kitchen is the rice cooker I got for Christmas. The resulting rice is notably better than my stovetop rice, but I will note that it doesn’t exactly save time as the rice is supposed to soak for 30 minutes, cook for 15, and steam for another 15. Another important note is that the measuring cup that comes with the cooker is only about ¾ cup. Thus, when I made my first batch of rice I was a bit thrown off and only had enough rice for three rice bowls instead of my usual four. I made a double batch the second time around which allowed me to create five rice bowls instead.
While I’m not set up for baking or cooking for a crowd, I truly do have all that I need to cook for myself. Nonetheless, I’m excited to continue building out my kitchen! A few items that I’m considering adding at some point in the future include a kitchen scale, a larger pot, a mixing bowl, a meat thermometer, an immersion blender, and an ice cream maker. We’ll see though because I’m not yet convinced that these items would get regular enough use to justify the cost and space they’d take up in my small kitchen.

hello stranger ;0
i have no ideas plot-wise but i’d really like to see how you’d write steven and marc as they struggle with control — like switching between eachother a bunch.
xoxo
~Empty~
Characters: Marc and Steven
Summary: Steven tries to keep Marc from his unhealthy coping mechanism.
Warnings: Alcoholism, Fictional descriptions of DID.
A/N: This is very short and not very good sorryyy! 🤍
Steven did his best to ignore his pacing reflection against the splashback of the kitchen. Marc continued walking back and forth, hands tugging at his hair as breathy mumbles left his lips.
Steven continued scrubbing the stainless steel pan (that wasn't so stainless) in the sink of bubbles, his senses flooded by the scent of citrus dish soap.
"Steven, let me out."
Steven didn't pay him much attention, hoping that if he remained calm, Marc would too.
"Steven."
"Look, I understand you're stressed and you have every right to be, but I don't think it's safe for you to front right now."
Marc shook his head and flashed him a sarcastic smile, "Don't go all therapist on me alright, just give me a moment."
"You can have a moment now, like this, I'm not stopping you."
Marc stiffened in the reflection of the tile, "Steven, let me out, now."
Steven felt his mind become foggy, the dish in his hand beginning to blur.
He muttered a breathy 'no', before letting the plate slip from his fingers, landing back in the sink with a sharp clatter.
Stumbling away from the kitchen bench, Steven opened a corner cupboard underneath the counter top and pulled out two bottles of whiskey from a small bottle rack.
"Don't you dare," Marc growled in the reflection, as Steven unscrewed one of the lids and began pouring it into the sink.
"You piece of shit!" Marc shouted.
Swirling the bottle around so the Whiskey would pour out quicker, Steven did his best to remain in control, gripping the neck of the bottle with immense force.
"I'm not gonna let you do this to yourself Marc." He promised, the empty glass falling into the sink as he hurried to pour out the other.
"I swear to god!"
Steven fought with his own body as he let the liquor wash down the drain, his thumb threatening to plug the bottle as he tried to stay conscious.
Steven felt himself slip from the front seat, watching from behind as his large hand turned the bottle upright, Marc taking a moment to catch his breath.
Glancing up at the reflection in the tiles, Marc watched as Steven stared back at him, eyes wide in desperation and panic.
"Marc, don't."
Marc held eye contact with his exhausted reflection as he held the bottle to his lips, swallowing three swigs as Steven watched in disbelief.
~
Tugging his heavy eyelids open, Steven struggled to sit up in his bed, the blinding throbbing in his head weighing him down.
Letting his feet brush against the grains of sand on his timber floor, he felt his ankle knock against an empty glass bottle, before it fell over with a clatter.
The sickening taste of bile and rich alcohol burned his throat. Standing up from the mattress, he held onto the bed posts for support.
"Steven", A nasally voice croaked, his mirrored self lay naked in the bed, tucked under a linen sheet.
"I'm sorry," Marc whispered, staring at him through the full length mirror.
Steven attempted a smile of reassurance, "I know."

The Birds: 1-1
Previous - Next
This whole series contains body horror and themes of mental illness, self harm and suicide.
Finally getting this started. Progress will be slow. Having trouble doing anything creative since I had the seizure but I'm giving it a go.
---
The corridor is long, low and windowless. Every man held there is awaiting his own death. The walls are painted a particularly sickly shade of pink, more suited for a nursery than the condemned block.
The guards can be heard before they are seen. Their keys rattle on their chains. A woman carrying a folder under her arm walks a few steps ahead of two black-shirted men escorting a prisoner. The prisoner between them can barely walk. They have to drag him. His feet slide along the floor- cheap white trainers. Cuffed hands hang loose in front of him, bruised fingers with broken nails taped together, and the grey jumper barely grazes his wrists, several sizes too small for him. He has forgotten how to close his mouth- his tongue is pale but marked with angry red where he has bitten it. A thin string of saliva twists from his beard and drips onto the floor. His glasses, held together by tape at the hinges, seem to barely cling to his face.
With a moan, he tries to swallow his own spit and coughs and splutters. The woman reaches into the pocket on his trousers, taking out a balled-up tissue and wipes his mouth. He dribbles onto the tissue, and tries to focus on what’s in front of him, bloodshot eyes tinged a pallid pink flicking across the corridor. Briefly, he takes a few steps, before collapsing again under his own weight. They continue to drag him.
The woman stops in front of the grey doors and unlocks it with one of the keys from her belt. The cell smells of bleach, whitewashed walls and grey lino floor. There is nothing in it save for a stainless steel sink and toilet unit in the corner next to the door, and the bed in the far corner. There are no sheets on the bed, just the flat sheet over the mattress.
The man lifts his head a little to stare into the cell. The officers on either side of him take most of his weight. He pitches forwards, unaware of his own centre of gravity. He furrows his brow. “Where’sit,” he slurs, gesturing weakly with cuffed hands to the empty room.
“Where’s what?” she asks. “Your belongings?”
He grunts in agreement. “My pencils. Photographs, m’ books.” His worried eyes flick over the room as if he is expecting his belongings to suddenly jump out at him, to materialise in an empty corner. They don’t. Tears start to well up in the corners of his eyes.
She puts a hand on his shoulder, leans over and undoes his handcuffs. His wrists are marked, patterned like crumpled paper with indents from straining against much heavier restraints. “Shall we go and sit down on the bed?”
He ignores her for a moment. His hand goes straight to his neck, to the angry red and black bruises, before the heaviness of his own body becomes too much for him to bear, and the hand drops, fingers getting caught in the collar of his jumper on the way down. He tries to say something and it comes out as an incoherent groan. She puts a hand in the small of his back and tries to push him forwards a little. “Shall we go and sit down on the bed?” she asks again.
“Mmm.” He takes a step, supported by her, locking his knee and dragging his left leg. His hands go out to keep his balance, but he takes another, limping in the same way, and sits down on the edge of the bed. Still he does not shut his mouth, the trail of spit starting to drip from his beard again. He looks down and rubs the fabric of the flat sheet between his fingers, utterly absorbed in the way the fabric brushes against itself. He tugs it up a little more, and something beneath the mattress catches his eye. He tugs at it, once, twice, three times, until a little more of it comes loose. He studies the heavy fabric with holes punched through it for a moment, before he holds it up to her, that same anguish-tinged look of open-mouthed confusion on his face. He says nothing, just looks at her.
“Those are restraints, Anton.” She sits down beside him, putting a hand on his arm. “To keep you safe. But we don’t need those right now, do we?”
"Don't know." He wipes his mouth on the back of his hand.
She keeps her hand on his arm. "You're safe. You won't hurt yourself again. That's for your own good."
There is a pause as he turns it over in his mind. “I don't know anymore,” he breathes, and holds his own shoulders tightly. “I don’t want to do this anymore. I don’t want to BE this anymore.” He looks at her with eyes full of tears. “I want to go home,” he says, slurring his words. “I want to see my wife, my daughter, I want to go home,” he repeats, and a tear rolls down his cheek.
“That’s not possible right now. You sound very tired.” She takes the tissue from his pocket again and wipes his mouth, and then the salt-stains from his cheek. “Are you going to sleep?”
“Yeah,” he says, sniffing, and lies down, lifting his left leg up onto the bed with a hand underneath his knee. He pulls off his jumper and tucks it under his head as he rolls onto his side. He fumbles with his glasses with taped-together fingers to take them off, and hooks them over his lapel. She sits there for a few moments, watching the rise and fall of his chest. When he starts to snore she gets up with a hand on her keys to stop them rattling.
She locks the door behind her.
“Jesus Christ,” says one of the men, arms folded across his chest. “What a fucking mess.”
The woman tucks her hair behind her ear. “Some of them drool like that with the sedatives, some of them don’t.” Sifting through the folder under her arm, she pauses for a moment on the full audit record of his injuries. “He’s probably too sore to swallow that amount of saliva.”
The photographs were all taken with flash in the early morning. The motion is evident from them, someone having to pull his fist apart to straighten out his fingers, tension in his arm from tugging against the leather limb restraint around his wrist. The next few are of his bloodshot eyes under a pupil torch, three photos in quick succession, his face twisted into a picture of childish distress as someone gently opens his eyes with nitrile-gloved fingers despite him fighting to keep them shut. The rest are all of his neck. He is sat up for those, co-operating, turning his head this way and that, someone brushing back his mousey-brown hair from his neck to show the ligature marks around his throat, the deep red and black bruising. She wonders how the nursing team managed to get him to play along, and turns to the next page in the folder, her order form for an adapted diet. “I’ve signed off on a soft diet for the next week. Make sure he gets that or he won’t be able to eat. He’ll need a minder for a while.“
There’s a loud tut from the man in the black shirt. “That’s a member of staff I’ve got to waste on watching a single man who’s just tried to top himself.” He bristles, expression souring, rocking back and forth on his heels. “How long are we expected to do that?”
She smiles, knowing he can’t weasel his way out of the responsibility. “You can stop assigning a minder to him and watch him on the camera when he’s not doped-up enough that he might choke on his own spit in his sleep.” She turns another page in the folder and comes to the form she filled in giving them the option to keep him restrained for the maximum of six hours. “If he gets agitated you can use the Pinels under the mattress. I’ve signed off on them already for the grace period. If you can’t de-escalate enough to de-restrain him in the six hours, call me. I’ll get a court order to keep him restrained or I’ll send someone down to sedate him again.”
The officer shakes his head, arms still folded. He looks at the locked door, and then back to the woman. “I’m not happy about being lumped with your headcases, Marie. This is the condemned unit, not psych. My guys generally don’t try to speed things up when it comes to being dead.”
“Well then,” she says. “You better hope he agrees to testify, or you’ll be stuck with him until they take him out to shoot him in the back of the head.” She picks out a stapled booklet of papers from the folder and slots the papers into the clipboard beside the door.
The first is a blood-red sheet, bold capitals across it - ANTON ELLMENREICH VON FENNEC - SUICIDE RISK - MANDATORY 5-MINUTE CHECKS.
Beneath it, on a second clipboard, his photo stares into the hallway- dishevelled, confused, with cracked glasses. If you asked him, he’d say he couldn’t remember when it was taken. He forgot several months ago.

Why Stainless Steel Plates and Sheets are Preferred by Food Processing Industry?
Tumblr media
Food processors throughout the world are confronting increasingly stringent international laws and compliance requirements. This is a fact that helps to promote a healthy world, but it also means that processors will have a steep learning curve.
Because, as technology advances and more facilities incorporate autonomous components for quicker production times, these new pieces of equipment must first be inspected and validated as 'food-grade,' including only materials and finishes deemed acceptable for use in the food business. This implies that materials like food-grade stainless steel will be put to the test during the audit – and if they don't suit the bill to a tee, the company may be in big trouble.
So, if you work in food production or are part of a team that develops equipment for the sector, it's important to brush up on the potential for surface materials to cause compliance issues. Today, we'll look at food-grade stainless steel manufactured by Tube Trading Co. - the most prominent supplier of Stainless Steel plates in Vadodara, Gujarat, and the reason why companies prefer Stainless Steel plates more over other materials.
Why do Food Processing Companies prefer Stainless Steel plates and sheets?
For a variety of reasons, stainless steel is the gold standard when it comes to equipment surfaces used in the food processing industry. For starters, it comes in a number of finishes that serve as powerful, adaptable complements to today's cutting-edge food processing equipment.
Here are some more reasons why food processors like food-grade stainless steel:
●      Contamination is prevented by its impervious surface.
●      It comes in a variety of finishes to suit your needs.
●      It has a smooth surface that makes cleaning a breeze.
●      It does not readily nick, dent, or shatter in its best grade form.
●      It isn't prone to acid erosion, which can be caused by certain diets.
●      It's designed to fit in with a variety of different finishes.
●      It's designed to withstand repeated washings with harsh detergents.
●      It has a fire-resistant coating.

●      It possesses anti-stain and anti-transfer characteristics.
Equipment nameplates, in addition to the stainless steel used for food-contact surfaces and other materials, convey crucial information such as the name of the product, health warnings, as well as essential equipment data. Nameplates made of stainless steel are favoured in the food processing business because of the metal's antibacterial characteristics as well as its great resistance to corrosion, dents, scratches, and stains. Stainless Steel plates offered by an excellent Stainless Steel plates dealer in Vadodara, Gujarat, assure quality and durability.
Stainless steel finishes can be applied to a wide range of additional tools and equipment, depending on the facility's and product's demands. There are numerous uses for this ultra-smooth surface as demonstrated by the previous examples, whether the meal is hot or cold, as well as liquid or solid.
What qualities make Stainless Steel suitable for the Food processing industry?
It's quite easy to select a finish that doesn't fulfil all FDA regulations when there are around 150 types of stainless steel on the market today. Having said that, while many of the finishes appear to be the same, they are vastly diverse in terms of their ability to withstand daily use.
In general, the surfaces of food-grade stainless steel are less porous and smoother than those of other stainless steel. Acids and alkalis, as well as chlorides like salt, are regularly introduced to steel's surface during processing. These specific kinds of stainless steel must therefore be resistant to these chemicals. It's imperative that the stainless steel offered by the most remarkable and trusted Stainless Steel plates supplier in Vadodara, Gujarat has this quality; otherwise, the caustic elements could contribute to premature corrosion, which would necessitate the removal of the unit from service immediately due to its uneven surface.
An electropolishing treatment for stainless steel used in commercial food applications may be used to reduce the risk of this harmful corrosion. There is a possibility that this treatment could prevent corrosion, which could lead to contamination, by enhancing acid-resistance qualities.
