A late greeting and post from me to all of you mothers out there!🥰 An illustration of my OC, Alora Luna, in the Encanto AU along with her babies💛

Paulina's trying to make her a big flower crown while Carlos and Armando are serenading their mother with their made-up song.🥰😘 And yes, I never mentioned they had a fourth baby🤭 I’ve been away for so long because I haven’t been feeling well and have gone through rougher days. My move to the city was also quite an adjustment. But after some rest on our term break, I feel a bit better now. I’ll try to make progress. (For those of you who don’t know, I’m actually a college animation student.)

Yes, I can tell you. Mirabel’s death date was a give away anyways - and they all have effects from their deaths, so it would be impossible to hide.

Mirabel - 23/05/1950

Decapitation. Yeah… saving the miracle didn’t go so well for her. She would have lived, had Bruno’s tower not decapitated her when it fell. Her screams are practically burnt into Dolores’ memories. (Not that she knows, but the Madrigals never find her head. She’s forgotten about for the most part and doesn’t get any proper mourning or funeral.) Reincarnated!Mirabel remembers the days leading up to her death and the beheading itself, very vividly. She is covered in crack-like scars and her voice also goes out pretty easily.

Isabela - 07/04/1964

Murder. Of course, Isabela’s death is going to be the most dramatic one - what were you expecting? Although her wedding to Mariano doesn’t go ahead, she still ends up marrying for the good of the family. Said fiancé, Milagro Perez (a relative to the Perez boys in my fics), is also being forced into this; the pair hate each other. After a very vicious physical fight on their wedding night, he poisons her coffee. Later passing it off as a suicide. Reincarnated!Isabela has no marks, but she gets very nauseous around strong chemicals and is always thirsty. She is also suspicious around men making her food or drink.

Dolores - 18/09/1965

Complications of Miscarriage. Dolores still finds Mariano out of her reach, and instead she’s married off to Armando Pezmuerto (a nephew of Señora Pezmuerto). The pair are happy enough together and consider each other good friends, but knew they’d have to deliver on the children aspect at some point. Dolores suffers a miscarriage at 22 weeks and doesn’t recover. The doctor never admitted how serious it was, in fear of how Pepa would react, so Julieta never intervened. Reincarnated!Dolores gets random cramps at times and can’t have children. Fortunately she’s got her cousins to make up for that.

Luisa - 30/01/1968

Snake Bite. She is (currently) the last to die of the reincarnated group. And actually went out the most kindly, all things considered. She ended up unknowingly disturbing a venomous snake and was bitten - her high pain tolerance kept from realising. She got increasingly sick over the next few minutes before dying, but didn’t try to find her mother until it was too late. Reincarnated!Luisa still has the bite mark on her ankle and occasionally experiences flashes of exhaustion and pain around the bite. She feels a bit in adequate compared to the others for her death a ‘dumb accident’.

Encanto OC Event Week 1: Mercedes Reyes

Full Name: Mercedes Yarisel Cordova Reyes.

DOB: October 20th, 1899. Died June 26th, 1935.

POB: Bogota, Colombia.

Likes/Hobbies: Painting, long walks, exploring, rock collecting, swimming, dancing, and reading romance novels.

Dislikes: Arguing, being bored, her mother’s dismissiveness and people mistreating others.

MBTI: INFP

Height: Exactly 5 feet tall though she was an inch taller than Bruno at one point.

Hair Color/Style: Dark brown. Mid-back length and no bangs. She'd like changing the hairstyle every day and wear a pretty sunhat when outdoors.

Eye color: Jade green.

Sexual Orientation: Heterosexual.

Voice: Zulay Henao.

Positive Traits: Compassionate, loyal, idealistic, easygoing, romantic and a dreamer.

Negative Traits: Self-conscious, overly private and a bit too unrealistic. Is very hard on herself when she fails.

Habits: Nibbles pencils while writing.

Career: Wanted to be an artist but worked for her in-law's cantina while living in Villavicencio.

Family: Her father, Vicente Cordova, passed away when she was 3. She has very few memories of him. Mother, Maria Reyes, who is controlling and manipulative. Armando Zaragoza became her stepfather when she was 14. She didn't like him at first but got along well with him. Half-sister Desideria was born when she was 15.

Eventually was forced into an arranged marriage with Pablo Salazar. They had twin girls, Francisca and Alejandra. Mercedes became close to her mother-in law Perla, but not with her father-in-law Arturo who's not the most sensitive person.

Backstory: After her dad died, Mercedes moved to different cities with her mom. At some point, they met a group of people who were traveling for new starts. They joined and miraculously arrived to the Encanto! Upon the first day, 10-year-old Mercedes met most of the Madrigals. She was getting used to a new home, but desired to find a library or bookstore. She wanted to find a book to a series she'd almost completed. A couple days after moving, she found one and searched for her book. The only copy she found was being read by a nervous looking boy: Bruno.

I'll save it for the Relationship week, but they were best friends. Some would say soulmates with how well they got along. Mercedes was friends with Julieta and Pepa, but she clicked with Bruno. Even when his reputation became worse and he was mistreated, she remained loyal. Bruno was grateful to her and devastated when she was forced to leave for the arranged marriage. The last time they saw each other, they were almost 20, and sadly, they won't meet again.

The marriage wasn't bad. Pablo had to leave his girlfriend due to the arrangement. He and Mercedes both understood each other's situation which led to respect and empathy. They really liked each other, but there wasn't true love. As a teen, Mercedes had always imagined different scenarios with her true love: exchanging love letters, dancing under starry skies and kiss in the rain. She had to leave the dreams behind, but her twins were the best part of her life.

When the twins were 13, Pablo and Mercedes annulled their marriage realizing they weren't content anymore. (Also Pablo was having an emotional affair.) After that, Mercedes took her daughters to Cali and secretly hoped she'd find the Encanto again. With the movie's timeline, Mercedes already passed away from a severe case of malaria. She was only 35. She left her daughters behind with no other family support. Though she's gone, her story isn't over because her children will find the Encanto and meet the Madrigals.

I would appreciate if you would stop being so hostile toward my business partner, Mr. Salamanca. If there are legal investigations that need to be completed, I'm sure they can be done civilly without insulting him or his character. Also, it's a bit unprofessional to cast judgement on his lawyer without having met the fellow. I am also a client of Mr. Goodman's, and he has never steered me wrong legally. He's a fantastic lawyer.

Oooh if this is a writing prompt, I'll give it a go!

"The thing about advice is that it's not a one-size-fits-all thing." Armando shrugged while giving the man before him a quick once-over. He was a handsome fellow, Diego Madrigal—a carbon-copy of señor Bruno in his prime, but brighter, more assured, more likely to cause a wave of broken hearts with a wink.

As such, Armando didn't know whether to be flattered or incredulous that Diego had gone to him for... dating advice. Well, he supposed he could give him something substantial; he couldn't let down someone asking for help now, would he?

Let it be known that Armando Alcaraz never turned down a poor soul's woes regarding matters of the heart.

"But then again," he continued, "There's always something, right? So what are we working with, hmm? Any insecurities? Any perceived deficiency in the art of romance? Alright, those are personal; don't bother answering.

"Back to basics, then. Alright, say you've caught the eye of the man of your affections. You know that feeling when your body moves faster than your brain and bam, you're sweating all over, you've caught foot-in-mouth disease, and your self-esteem takes a nose-dive? Embrace it, man. Know the signs, learn when they come, and you'll know just how to keep all of them from happening.

"Usually I just take a deep, long breath. Something about oxygenating the brain or some scientific whatever. It works, I tell you! I'm just shit at explaining! Hey, you want advice or not? Good.

"Compliment something they look like they took hours fixing—their hair, newly-shined shoes, how they styled their clothes, et cetera. Any idiot can wax poetic over someone's eyes or whatnot but the real deal is making your date feel good about themselves. Simple as that. Don't go all gung-ho about it too; anyone'll see right through it. Just play it cool. Be somebody they can be comfortable with. Be someone they like being around and like being themselves around.

"Take it from me, parce. I had to go through a shitty point in my life to understand half of what I'm telling you. No, I won't talk about it.

"Yeah, alright, I know it all sounds vague. Like I said, it's not a one-size-fits-all thing. One song isn't everyone's favorite, y'know? So, you got all that? Lovely. Oh, one more thing. If shit goes wrong, I didn't tell you a damn thing, you hear? I'll take waiving my responsibility as payment for all this."

After that first date, (Y/N) and Bruno spent the next three months secretly meeting after the sunset, as at night it was easier to hide from the prying eyes in town and most importantly, her family. Those weren't adequate times for lovers to encounter each other, and he was sure that if by any chance, someone saw them together on the streets or entering his house, a scandal would arise from which she would never be able to recover. However, she didn't seem to care about the possible consequences, because whenever he threw small rocks at her window to let her know he'd arrived, she would receive him eagerly by throwing herself into his arms.

"You're lucky everyone in this family's a heavy sleeper," Catalina told her once after she opened the door, a routine they'd adopted to make sure that her mother or her sister didn't see her come in so late at night. "And that I love you so much."

No one in the Madrigal household, with the exception of Dolores, had noticed anything weird either or that every night at midnight Bruno left his room only to return at five or six in the morning when the sun began to rise over the horizon. Sometimes, when they were too tired to walk around town or go to the river, he took her to his house to show her one of his novelas or take a quick nap together.

It was on one of those nights, while Bruno interpreted one of his recent novelas for her with the help of his rats in the kitchen, that their fates were sealed.

"You don't know how much I need you" he moved the rat wearing a black jacket, courtesy of her along with other garments she had sewn in her spare time. “Beatriz, tell me, do you want to destroy me?

"No, Armando, I don't want that" he made a female voice for the other rat.

“Then please don't let me fall, I beg you. Betty, I know you don't feel anything for me anymore, but don't let me down... Because I still do."

He slowly brought the rats closer, pretending a kiss between them, and her eyes moved up his arms to land on his face, watching him mesmerised. She loved the way he smiled when he did something he was passionate about and even more that he trust her enough to show her with such enthusiasm.

“Bruno” she spoke softly, reaching out to touch his face fondly. No matter how many times she did it, he always became a blushing mess at her touch.

"Are you bored? We can do something else, whatever you want!” There was a certain sadness in his voice.

"No, it's not that! I truly enjoy your telenovelas." She ran her thumb across his cheekbone in gentle circles. "I just want to ask you something".

"What is it?" His breath hitched in his throat, as he was completely lost in her eyes and touch.

"Why have you never kissed me?" The question stuns him so much, he inadvertently squeezes the rats in his hands before letting them free on the table. "You don't... like me that way?"

"Of course I do!" He cupped her face between his hands, tense. "It's just... I didn't want to make you uncomfortable, I wasn't sure if you wanted me to."

“I like you a lot, Bruno” she'd never uttered those words together before. "I'd even dare to say I'm beginning to fall for you."

He couldn't believe what his ears were hearing, he was sure to be dreaming or hallucinating. He never expected her to reciprocate his feelings, it was enough for him to be her friend and be near her.

"So it's okay if I kiss you?"

"Try and find out" He'd never say it out loud, but her bold and flirtatious personality drove him crazy.

He moved closer to her face, trembling, taking his time to look carefully at her features to make sure she was comfortable with that.

"I don't really know how to do the whole... Kissing thing, I've never done it before." He was scared she'd laugh at him, but she brushed away his insecurities by kissing his palm fondly.

"Neither have I." She smiled shyly at him. "But they say practice makes perfect, right?"

Red cheeks and nerves on edge, Bruno closed the gap between them slowly, barely gracing her lips with his. It was a skittish and fleeting kiss, but it was enough to make him see fireworks behind closed eyes.

“Not bad.” She needed more, but she knew perfectly well he was not going to take the initiative again. “My turn.”

He watched her in confusion as she grabbed him by the collar of the shirt, pulling from it to meet his lips in a deep kiss that took his breath away. She moved her lips sloppily as she intertwined her fingers in his hair, snapping something in him with that simple action. He drew her closer by the waist, startling her, and deepened the kiss as his lips moved on his own, perfectly fitting with hers. Her arms locked around his neck, her hands still playing with some strands while he melted in her embrace, realizing he needed her more than he'd thought.

They broke away at the lack of oxygen, his forehead leaning against hers as they recovered their breath panting.

“You taste like canela” his voice was hoarse.

“Must be the tea” she was dizzy and her legs had gone numb, but she couldn't care less, she just wanted to kiss him over and over again. “I take back my previous statement, I'm completely sure now: I'm in love with you.”

“Me too.” There was no fear or hesitation in his words even though he was handing her his heart on a silver platter. He didn't care if there came a day when she left him, he was willing to give himself to her and enjoy the little or much time she could call her his. “Te amo, (Y/N).”

“I love you too, Bruno.”

They spent the next two hours in his room, cuddling and kissing between words until five am when he walked her back home. Never before had it been as difficult for them to say goodbye as that morning. Their lips were red and swollen, and their throats were dry from declaring their love to each other so many times.

“Buenos días, señor Madrigal" Catalina greeted him as she opened the door with a yawn. "(Y/N), hurry up, I think Mario woke up while I was coming downstairs." Her husband had begun to suspect something, but he hadn't asked her anything so far.

"See you tomorrow, amor mío." The nickname took him by surprise, but he gladly accepted it as she gave him one last kiss before entering the house, her skirt mimicking a butterfly.

"I love you too, mi mariposita."

Pedro’s family had their own gifts and, like Mirabel, Pedro was born without one. His gift ends up being the sacrifice he made for Alma and their babies resulting in passing the miracle along. (Ages matching them in these particular drawings, Pedro’s triplets are born within a year of these ages)

Inéz (51) and Felipe (55) Madrigal had 3 children: the eldest Marisol (31), Elisa (28) the middle child, and the youngest being Pedro (24). Inéz’s gift is control over light. Marisol: The oldest Madrigal child of Inéz and Felipe. Her gift is being able to play any instrument perfectly without practice. She’s married Armando (33), a singer who was performing on the road but when he met Mari, he fell in love immediately and stayed with her. He’s been all around the world but believed the second he saw her that Marisol was his soulmate. She finds that funny as, at first, she thought he was just a big flirt and almost wrote him off completely

Emilio (10): The oldest child of Marisol & Armando, his gift is being able to paint with his hands. He’s a little messy but he doesn’t mean to be. Emilio loves to express himself through art but always at least tries to remember to clean up afterwards

Lola (7): the middle child of Marisol & Armando, her gift is that she can shapeshift into animals. She’s quiet and we’ll behaved… when she’s herself. When she’s an animal, she lets loose and acts a little wild!

Rosita (3): the youngest of Marisol & Armando’s kids. She’s too little to have been given a gift yet but she’s often described as being “too smart for her own good” and her favourite word is “why?”

Elisa: the middle Madrigal child of Inéz and Felipe. Her gift is being able to talk to the dead and see ghosts. She’s very quiet, shy, can get very anxious, and is often oblivious to what’s going on around her, too busy with her undead visitors. She’s married to Sancho (33), a local cowboy/stables owner. They are opposites-attract incarnate. He’ll happily speak for Elisa when she’s too shy and is able to bring out her fun side when she’s starts getting worried over little things

Mateo (6): twins with Maria, his gift is super-speed. Like many 6 year olds, he wants to be everywhere at once, never missing out on any excitement

Maria (6): twins with Mateo, her gift is control over electricity. Like many 6 year olds, her favourite pastime is annoying her brother, finding it absolutely hilarious to give him little electric shocks when he least expects it. A little trouble maker!

After losing Andy, Gabe and Naomi were absolute messes.

Gabe lost his temper a lot on Armando. Armando and Marlena had a daughter, Madrigal. Who is about a month older than Andy. Gabe often got mad that Armando had what he wanted the most a healthy and happy baby. Gabe would lash out and even got physical with Armando for talking about his daughter. Gabe would pick Armando by the color of his shirt yelling in his face.

Naomi didn’t talk to anyone with babies for awhile. She would get frustrated when people with babies came to the Grand Council for help. She would leave to go to a bathroom and cry. She refused to talk to Marlena for nearly a year. For the first few months she was working Naomi would start crying just seeing someone with an ‘A’ name.

Elena was very supportive of her friends during that tough time. She defined they actions (even Gabe getting physical with Armando). She was careful not to tell Naomi and Gabe about her and Mateo were trying for a second baby.

La ceremonia fue presidida por el Almirante José Luis Arellano Ruiz, Subsecretario de Marina, en representación del Almirante José Rafael Ojeda Durán, Secretario de Marina y Alto Mando de la Armada de México; el Maestro José Julio Díaz Infante, Coordinador Nacional de Música y Ópera del Instituto Nacional de Bellas Artes y Literatura (INBAL); Almirante César Carlos Preciado Velázquez, Oficial Mayor de Marina; Almirante José Tomás Jorge Tress Zilly, Inspector y Contralor General de Marina; Almirante Retirado Armando García Rodríguez, Coordinador General de los Festejos de los 200 años de la Armada de México; Vicealmirante Fernando

Cuenta con una trayectoría profesional de 14 años, ha realizado varios conciertos en diferentes escenarios del país, ha trabajado como músico de jazz, de sesión, acompañante y docente en diversas escuelas de música y universidades del país. En el año 2020 sus composiciones de jazz le hicieron acreedor al estímulo “Contigo en la Distancia”, del Fomento Nacional para la Cultura y las Artes (FONCA), y en esta ocasión su obra musical fue

seleccionada como ganadora del concurso de composición de la “Marcha del Bicentenario de la Armada de México”. En su oportunidad, Francisco Javier García Rivera indicó que como compositor se sintió enormemente honrado de que la obra que se mandó al Concurso se haya encontrado adecuada para esta celebración tan importante, la celebración de los 200 años de la Marina-Armada de México, pero que como mexicano aún el honor es más grande, pues se le permitió servir a la patria, por medio de la música, que es su vocación y forma de vida diaria. Por su parte, el Almirante Arellano Ruiz recordó que han pasado

casi dos siglos, desde que las y los mexicanos de la Armada de México hemos escrito en la bitácora naval páginas de disciplina, esfuerzo y valentía, en favor de nuestra querida nación.
