─ ✰ 𝐃𝐈𝐋𝐔𝐂 notices your little pout and glares to the small child. the little girl’s clutching onto his hand tight, sending him adoring gazes as she nuzzles into him softly, smirking deviously at you when she thinks your boyfriend isn’t paying attention. he’s a little confused at first, but manages to connect the dots. ah. so that’s what it is. his lips curve into a small smile as he notices your jealousy, thinks you’re the cutest thing in the world. he places the now scowling child into adeline’s care for a bit, before making his way to you with a sheepish smile.

“dearest… are you in need of some attention? my apologies, it seems i have neglected you for a bit too long. how about a walk together… just you and i?”

─ ✰ 𝐊𝐀𝐄𝐘𝐀 is a girl dad, you can’t convince me otherwise. the little girl is giggling in his arms, squishing his cheeks as they play princesses and knights. for some reason, the girl is set out for you, side eyeing you every time you try to get close to kaeya. so with a sigh, you sit and watch them play with a small huff. after a while, kaeya hands the five year old some mora, telling her to go buy a snack from a nearby cart and that they’ll play again later. she excitedly runs off as he saunters over to you with his signature smirk. he scoops you up into his arms, holding you flush against his chest. “you’ve got some real competition, hm?” he lets out a charming laugh as he teases you lightheartedly.

“don’t worry my love, you still own my heart… for now.”

─ ✰ 𝐂𝐇𝐈𝐋𝐃𝐄 loves playing with little kids. they remind him of teucer and his other younger siblings, forgetting about his harbinger duties for a moment as he plays hide and seek with the little girl. she shyly hands him a flower she picked herself, blushing slightly. he feels his heart melt, feeling a sense of protectiveness was over him as she clutches his leg tight. he’s unaware of your pout until the child reluctantly has to go back home for supper, his concentration snapping back to you. he grins at your frowny expression, tugging you into his arms, squeezing you tightly.

“aww, y/n, are ya jealous? ahaha, so you are! …stop pouting, i’ll make sure to give you some extra attention tonight~”

─ ✰ 𝐒𝐂𝐀𝐑𝐀𝐌𝐎𝐔𝐂𝐇𝐄 does not like the little kid either. sorry, what were you expecting? he doesn’t like any kids at all, unless it’s your kid. reluctantly, he entertains the child for a bit, attempting to hide his annoyed expression as the little girl tugs at his hat, giggling loudly. he also finds himself glaring coldly at the five year old every time she sticks her tongue out at you, climbing into his lap as she refuses to look at you. at this point, he just wants to go back to you, but the little girl cries every time he attempts to stand up. he almost smiles when the child’s mother finally finds the little girl, speed walking over to you as he allows you to cling onto him softly, frown instantly melting away.

“hmph. what an annoying brat. …our kid would be much cuter.”

─ ✰ 𝐊𝐀𝐙𝐔𝐇𝐀 smiles at the small child as she draws a picture of her and kazuha holding hands. he allows her to play with her hair, acting as a father figure to this sweet little girl. it’s almost like a perfect family… except this demon child hates you. she steals all of kazuha’s attention, and whenever you try to initiate affection, she drags him away possessively. …you never thought you’d have a five year old compete with you over your boyfriend. if not for kazuha’s patience, you might have lost it. he pulls you into a corner with a knowing smile, peppering your face with kisses as he chuckles softly.

“dove, there’s no reason to pout… you’ll always be my muse, alright? so stop frowning… a smile suits you much better.”

─ ✰ 𝐗𝐈𝐀𝐎 frowns slightly seeing the girl cling onto his arm. …where are her parents? should he leave? …no, that would possibly put the child in danger… but at the same time, it’s taking away his time with you. he allows the little girl to stay, observing curiously as the little girl blushes ever so slightly while playing with his hair. …strange. this small creature acts so much like you, yet seems to hate your guts… he turns to you, surprised to see you grouchy. standing up, ignoring the girl’s protests, he tilts your head up with his hand, gorgeous amber eyes boring into yours.

“…have i done something to make you upset? tell me, so i can fix it.”

─ ✰ 𝐀𝐘𝐀𝐓𝐎 knows. this little bitch knows what he’s doing… it’s been a peaceful few weeks, why not stir it up a little? he holds her teensy tiny hand in his, feeding her delulu in further, and spends what was supposed to be your date with him into a play date with the little gremlin. it’s seven when the girl falls asleep, finally paying attention to you. he smiles mischievously at your grouchy pout, pulling you in closer as a soft melody starts playing, spilling you around as you waltz around the room.

“…ah? so you knew i was teasing you? …i have to make it up to you now? very well. how about a nice massage and some cuddles tonight?”

─ ✰ 𝐀𝐋 𝐇𝐀𝐈𝐓𝐇𝐀𝐌 stares at the child. …why is it so attached to him? kaveh and you were right there, with open arms, beaming at the little girl… and now sobbing as the child ignores you… not knowing what to do, he continues reading his book… but it’s not long before she tugs his sleeve, asking for him to read her a book. he obliges, reading to her in the most monotonous voice, it would be more surprising if the little five year old didn’t fall asleep. looking up, he sees you scowling at the little girl, and he feels his heart warm the slightest bit.

“…what i read her? the extensive analysis of the color brown: the non-illustrated edition. simply fascinating.”

─ ✰ 𝐊𝐀𝐕𝐄𝐇 cooes as the little girl bats her eyelashes, beaming so innocently, his entire heart melts. this little girl is his now, sorry parents!! you snooze, you lose. when you whisper to him how you think she hates you, he audibly gasps. this sweet little angel? no way!! he shows her all around his office, the secret projects he hasn’t even shown you yet!! they have a field day with that. when the sun sets, he reluctantly gives her back to her very grateful parents. his eyes sparkle at your pout, squeezing you tightly.

“oh, you wish to know what the classified architecture is too? …it’s… our future home. for me and you.”

─ ✰ 𝐍𝐄𝐔𝐕𝐈𝐋𝐋𝐄𝐓𝐓𝐄 visibly softens at the little girl tugging his shirt. unbeknownst to most who believe he is as stoic as he is in the court, he seems to be very soft and gentle. he allows her to clumsily braid his silky strands, keeping the hairstyle on for the day, ignoring the confused stares he gets from fellow passerby. however, when you try to give him a peck, she pushes you with a glare, clinging onto his sleeve! your mouth visibly drops, and you don’t know whether to laugh or be mad. neuvillette is equally as shocked, scolding her lightly.

“beloved, are you all right? …no? shall i kiss it better?”

─ ✰ 𝐖𝐑𝐈𝐎𝐓𝐇𝐄𝐒𝐋𝐄𝐘 expected the five year old to go running into your arms, screaming and crying. after all, he certainly looks like a scary man, having quite a tall stature, covered in scars as well. but no, she innocently beams at him cutely asking to play tea party. so that’s the sight you walked into, a small child, wriothesley, and a handful of barbies surrounding the round table, all having teacups. the girl glares at you, telling you you can’t join, as your smile drops. this little roach… who does she think she is? before you can say anything, he pulls you to the side, whispering quietly.

“babe, we’ll have our own tea party date later… yes, yes, i promise.”

for kaeya, Christmas is a really special occasion, mainly cause during Christmas diluc is actually nice to him and invites him over to the dawn winery for Christmas dinner

and that hasn’t changed just cause he’s dating you, diluc doesn’t mind inviting you too, as long as you guys don’t act too lovey dovey around him

when at the dawn winery, adelinde cooks so much food, and all of it is the best thing that has ever existed

when you and kaeya were about to leave, the sneaky bastard held up a mistletoe over your heads

he gives you a shit eating smirk before placing his lips over yours, giving you a chaste yet sweet kiss

when you guys separated, you were shocked that he didn’t go all out

“I’m not going all out since diluc’s here, and I can just about wait till we get back home for some more fun~” he cood, lightly tapping you on the butt as you hid your face into his chest so he couldn’t see your flustered expression

safe to say the morning after, you couldn’t walk at all :)

he doesn’t mind Christmas, the only problem is he’s busier than ever since there’s quite a lot of work to do before he spends the holiday with you

one day when he came back home and was greeted by your embrace, he looked up since he noticed something green on the entrance of the house, only to roll his eyes in realisation

“maybe, who knows? it could’ve been adelinde” you simply shrugged, placing your hands around dilucs neck and lightly swaying

sighing in response, he leant in for the kiss, only to be responded by your lips unexpectedly crashing against his, biting his lip, making him flinch so that you could explore his mouth with your tongue

he let out a muffled groan in response, large calloused hands wrapping around your waist

you jumped up into his embrace, wrapping your legs tightly against his slutty slim waist, diluc helping by holding onto your butt

next morning the bed was ‘surprisingly’ broken, a disappointed adelinde with her arms crossed against her chest, you and diluc covered in scratch and bite marks

if possible, every year he heads back to snezhnaya to visit his family and spend the holidays there

this year he had time off luckily, and so he also brought you

this is the first time you’ve seen his family, yes you’ve heard of them all from ajax, especially of teucer, but you’re still very nervous about meeting them, especially his mother

when you arrived at the door, you were sweating buckets, ajax simply held your gloves hand into his larger hand that was bare since he’s so used to this weather

first thing that happens is teucer screams that you two have to kiss since you’re both standing underneath the mistletoe

ajax obviously acts first, giving you a small kiss on the lips before rushing towards teucer and spinning him around before embracing him into a tight bear hug

yes, he brought so many presents for everyone, he even brought some that are for you (the rest are back in liyue, where you originally reside)

his mother was so nice to you, giving you a nice big hug as soon as she saw you, and calling you beautiful/handsome etc.

she’s surprisingly tall, obviously ginger, and has quite a curvy chubby body, she’s berry huggable and so sweet

despite her adorable appearance, her face seems quite intimidating at first glance, but she’s the sweetest lady you have ever met

you, ajax, and the rest of the family had such fun at the dinner table and playing all sorts of games before you had to go to sleep due to the fact that you were both heading back the day after

Summary: how they would react to receiving a friendship bracelet + would they wear it

i thought this was a cute idea and given ive been on a bit of a bracelet making kick, this happened lol. my first time writing any of these characters so im sorry if the lore is messy or they're ooc <3

Scaramouche/Wanderer:

looks at the bundle of navy, gold and red string in disgust

“you expect me to wear this? tsk, another one of your menial childish crafts.”

lowkey hurts your feelings

like you know he’s the most tsundere mf on the entire planet but sometimes he just goes too far

you avoid him for the rest of the day after that

of course the minute you leave he’s tying it to his wrist

he will never take it off either. it’s now his most prized possession

next time you see him, you’re still a little upset about how he reacted

until he’s talking about something completely unrelated and you notice him fidgeting with something on his wrist

he’s running his fingers across it, an action that brings him comfort (and reminds him that no matter what he’s done, you still care about him)

never mention it to him tho or else he’ll pretend like he’s doing it just to appease you

Xiao:

his cheeks are instantly red

“you—you’re gifting this to me? to do what?”

looks at you in utter fascination while you explain what it is

he adores the idea of carrying a physical object to commemorate your relationship

his hand is probably shaking when you gently grab him to tie the bracelet around his wrist

and of course his face erupts into an inferno

he’s never been handled with so much care before, and the sight of you tying a symbol of your affection into him is enough to make his heart race

you pull away with a smile, “there you go. you can always take it off if it bugs you or you don’t like it.”

he shakes his head

he’s never taking it off

he’ll probably find some sort of adepti magic to bind it to him so he’ll never lose or break it

on long night when he misses you, he finds himself playing with the strings and thinking of you

Kazuha:

his eyes are practically sparkling when you present it to him

“it’s wonderful, my love. like falling leaves in the autumn sunlight”

a little hesitant to put it on at first

he’s just worried he’ll lose it during all of the adventuring he does

you’re a little sad when you see he’s not wearing it tho

and of course he loves you so much and all he wants is for you to be happy

he offers you a gentle smile and asks if you’ll help him put it on since he totally can’t do it himself

obviously you happily oblige and tie it to his wrist with the biggest smile

he spends a solid five minutes admiring it

kinda weird but also feel like he would kiss it??

whenever he’s away on long journeys, he always has you close

and whenever he misses you, he stares at that symbol of your love and remembers that you’re out there waiting for him

Childe:

definitely not the first one he’s received

teucer has almost definitely made him some before

of course, yours is a little different

like this Fatui harbinger is always wearing this adorable little string bracelet

you’d think it would take away from his reputation but people are equally as afraid of him

he can’t just let you give him such a thoughtful gift without giving anything in return

so he sets out to make you your own bracelet

honestly it’s really rough

his hands aren’t made for arts and crafts

but even if it is slightly misshapen and filled with holes, you accept it happily

the thought that he sat down and spent time trying to make it for you is enough to make you tear up

he ties it to your wrist and plants a kiss over the bracelet

“there, now we match”

Diluc:

honestly you’re a little worried giving it to him

it feels stupid and dorky and he’s always dressed to the nines

but as soon as he sees it, his face lights up

you shift from side to side and awkwardly look at the floor. “yes…”

all of your worries melt away though

this man loves you to the point he would practically do anything to you

and seeing how cute and nervous you were giving him something you handmade just for him?

he examines the bracelet in the light, nodding at your handiwork

he’ll always have it on him one way or another

whether it’s on his wrist, or in his hair, or attached to his keys or hidden somewhere when he’s the Darknight Hero

like actually cries when you give it to him

he’s seen other people exchanging them, especially as a kid, and always wanted one

but of course as an oni, resigned himself to a friendship bracelet-less life

struggles tho cause his big ass hands aren’t meant for delicate things like that

He’ll expect you to be entirely honest to him, but once he’d suspect that you aren’t, he wouldn’t be nice to you anymore, at all :( ! narrowing his brows annoyingly at you, he swiped his thumb over your lips roughly, you yielded, fitting against him in a way that made him more proprietorial of your shaking frame and spirit. Questioning you as if you were nothing more than a tiny pawn in his big game.

husband!albedo who's always afraid he won't have much time for you! he's an incredibly busy man, always tinkering and working because he loves it <3 though, even albedo knows he has another priority now and he will gladly take time off work because if he wasn't even able to do that, he wouldn't have married you in the first place! In the beginning, he wasn't really used to being together with someone - meaning living together, waking up next to each other - , he honestly didn’t know how he was supposed to act to make you happy or if he was doing enough to please you. Please! give him time because he's completely fallen for you and always tries his best to satisfy your needs!

husband!heizou who‘ll come home late at night from a mission, telling you exactly everything that happened without actually being allowed to (sara wouldn't approve lmao)! But you‘re his spouse after all <3 ! he‘s certain you won't tell a soul anyways. He‘d carefully reach down and grab you by the arms, pulling you up into his lap while also securing his arm around your waist to kiss your cheek. Acting like a little child who‘s excited about the smallest things, spelling out everything that he had come across to. Being transparent to each other is a big deal for heizou, he thinks it‘s probably the most important thing in a marriage.

husband!childe who'll always leave you breathless whenever he comes home from a mission <3 your breath caught as you finally felt his searing touch and gaze on your body again, way too addicting passionate kisses combined with the confidence he always seemed to portray so fucking naturally, truly nothing in this world would come close to this. He's incredibly protective towards his family and will do everything in his power to keep you far away from the fatui and his job in general <3 absolutely adores whenever he sees you spend time with his siblings, they mean the world to him and catching a glimpse of you playing a random game with teucer will always make his adoration towards you grow deeper within seconds. <3

husband!zhongli whose kisses are consuming, hungry yet sweet, always teasing you with a hint of promise and diving your body to new heights of awareness, nothing would ever compare to this. Seriously, can't get enough of you, unable to comprehend that you're solely his now, that he really is married to you! will do everything in his power to make you happy, not to mention that he'd be overprotective at times. husband!diluc who'll treat you like a goddess. He would ache to show you how much you meant to him, to open your vision of him and his world and show you the beauty that made him fight as he did. He's a little over protective at times, but he means well and always makes sure to leave you enough space and most importantly, to not make you uncomfortable and respect your boundaries. Ever since he met you, he understood the value of gentle caress and a soft spoken word whenever he'd be down. You're his top-priority now and he would do anything for you without much thought. Just needs to rub it under everyone's nose that you're long taken and his <3 needs to be near you and get your attention at all times and does accomplish this with teasing the hell out of you. However, even though you love him, his humor can become quite dry and witty, never missing a chance to bug you <3 absolutely adores the cute expressions you make whenever you're mad at him! It‘s a lot of physical touch for him to show his love as well, — doesn‘t have to be sexual though, even prefers it to show you love in a non sexual way — it‘s more of embracing you into a tight hug or simply feeling your heart beat steady against your chest that makes kaeya feel like he truly reached home <3

husband!kazuha who‘d send you hand written letters from all of his adventures! Always making sure they‘ll reach you no matter what <3 not to mention that he‘d add a little gift to the letter as well — ( a gift he bought from another nation for you) — so you‘ll have something of him to hold onto while you‘re eagerly waiting for his return home. And once he‘s finally back, kazuha will gather you in his arms, pulling you close - his lips seeking yours hungrily in a great caress. <3 he‘d be very supportive over everything you do, wants you to follow your dreams and expects you to be supportive towards his goals as wel, it's all about giving but also taking for him !!

husband!ayato who‘s spoiling you rotten <3 !! always buying you cute clothes and jewellery, you‘re his spouse after all, you need to look the part. Even though you told him he was spoiling you way too much, he insisted you deserved it. <3 Whenever he sees you hang out with Ayaka he couldn't be happier. His heart would flutter lightly once you would meet his gaze, and begin to pound rapidly as he choose to walk towards the both of you. His face engaged in a smile once the both of you greeted him, small faint wrinkles created around his eyes and grooves in his cheeks, placing his fingertips on top of your hand and sliding up your arms in a gentle caress. Ayato was certain that in that particular moment, he couldn't possibly be happier <3 !!

- astonished. to say the least. his voice or face doesn’t prove it tho, but trust me he really loves it lol

- tbh, i think diluc would be the type to always want a pet reptile such as a bearded dragon because of their scales, yeah he seems like that type of person

- DEFINITELY tries to befriend it with his bird 😭😭

(it works btw)

- sometimes when he comes back to the winery, he sees your pet and his bird sitting together on a cushion near the windowsill and he texts you about it later on

- kaeya gets confused when he randomly sees your animal just unexpectedly sitting there on the table in the winery

- then diluc tells him it’s his significant other’s, which he is wide-eyed about and says “YOU CAN ACTUALLY PULL PEOPLE?” which you can hear from all the way upstairs 😕

- no diluc slander tho i love him, sorry got too carried away LOL

- but in conclusion, he would check up on your pet every day at a certain time period to see if it’s still sitting in the most random place ever

KAEYA.

- “not surprised that you have another thing to love you” is what he instantly says when he notices you cuddling aside your pet on the bed

- your face instantly flushes red 😭

- he adores you sm, he also makes sure to take care of your reptile with you

- sometimes he randomly comes up behind you and whispers into your ear saying stuff like “is your little pet well taken care of?”

- he cares a little too much because he’s jealous of diluc having a pet so he always wanted one too LOL

- he calls the both of you parents of your pet

- he’s one to randomly come into your room in the middle of the night, check if your pet is right next to you, and steal it from your arms while you’re sleeping

- when you wake up you’re so confused, but then you go downstairs to see him giving your pet his favorite alcohol drink as a joke, he wouldn’t actually do that ofc

THOMA.

- when i tell you he loves it, he LOVES it.

- trust, when he first saw it, his eyes were quite literally glittery.

- despite being a dog person because of his dog, he’s one to care for every type of pet

- he’s literally a househusband, do you really expect for him to not care about your baby too?

- LOL other than that, he’s really cute when it comes to taking care of his pets, and yours ofc.

- one time he almost melted because when your reptile tried to bite him, he did NOT see it as a threat at all. the real reason he found it so cute was because the little bite your pet tried to perform failed 😭😭

- he felt so bad when he noticed a little, almost unnoticeable pout on your pet’s face

- has definitely made a little hut for your pet before in your shared bedroom :(( it’s so cute

CHILDE.

- definitely treats it like his brother, teucer.

- no like, quite literally almost does the exact same things he does to teucer to your pet.

- it’s cute to watch tho

- one time, he was literally sitting down at the dinner table with your pet in his lap, leaning down a little to spoon feed it a little bit of food.

- exactly like he did with teucer, except they were right next to each other. he spoon fed teucer ALL the time, and now he’s doing it to your baby.

- that’s so cute to think about

- other than that, he’s quite childeish with it. (haha get it? childe-ish? ok that was embarrassing.. anyway..)

- ok but actually, he’s childish with it LMAO

- one time it scratched him, not even making a mark btw, and he came over to you with your reptile in his hand and yelled out

- “this b*tch scratched me!!”

- “lemme see”

- “it didn’t even make a mark, stop being dramatic.”

- he loves it very much tho :))

AYATO.

- “hm. fascinating.” his exact words when he first sees it.

- he acts like it isn’t that important, but one time when you came home from work, your reptile was resting in his luxury bed with your reptile’s required food, except it looked really expensive.

- you instantly assume it was ayato.

- you tell him and he’s like, “mhm?”

- “that’s normal, is it not?”

- he cares for it like he cares for ayaka, but you never catch him doing it

- except for the few times that he said he bought your pet its required food, except he had jars and jars of food in his hands.

- yeah, he cares a lot.

- he sometimes watches it squirm around in its habitat (that he built for it by the way, and despite not being an architect, his luxurious-self that he likes to brag about built it with some of the most finest materials) and listens to the soft sounds of whatever noises it makes.

ITTO.

- instantly tries to pair it up with his beetles.

- he LOVES to bring it to watch his little beetle fighting contests with him

- he records it ofc, then sends it to you while you’re at work, catching you completely off guard when you noticed your little pet right next to him watching the contest.

- has definitely placed it on top of his head and walked home with it constantly touching his horns

- he was giggling the entire time 😭 he’s such a man-baby it’s adorable

- definitely falls asleep with it in your shared bed with the tv playing your favorite song

- he thinks of you all the time when he’s hanging out with your baby :)

- every time you bring up the fact that he got scared when you introduced it to him, he says, “at least i took the fear like a boss!”

- but other than that, he quickly got used to it after you kept randomly jump scaring him with your pet behind his back.

- even one time, when he wasn’t used to it yet, it crawled/slithered up his back when he was asleep and he woke up and screamed for a second louder than the sound barrier which woke you up too 😭😭

LATE NIGHT TALKS | TARTAGLIA

summary: a chilly winter night, your lover finally returns home from a mission in liyue harbor and yet again, he tries to sneak in a conversation that he knows you do not want to have.

warnings: none, fem!reader (not sure if i used gendered terms in this but just to be safe), cuddles, light angst & hurt/comfort, a little fluff, unedited/written on phone, mentions of death

notes: i have literally had this in my drafts since like february rip

“hmmm, and what if one day i was killed in battle?”

you paused in your steady movements, fingers entangled in his hair as you processed his words.

“must you be so morbid, ajax?” you sighed, shaking your head as you continued brushing your fingers through his soft hair.

“it’s a legitimate question,” tartaglia complained. “being a harbinger isn’t just for the giggles, y’know? death is a constant threat.”

“a threat i would prefer not to think about,” you said dryly, tugging on his hair pointedly. he winced and batted your hand away, scowling at you, betrayed.

“how am i supposed to know you’ll be okay when i’m gone though?” tartaglia pressed.

when, he said, not if this time.

not for the first time, you wondered if tartaglia was hiding something from you, but you knew if you pressed, you’d be met with the same flippant response and set of deflections you always received.

“i survived years on my own, ajax,” you finally humored the question, albeit reluctantly. “now can you drop this? i don’t want to talk about this.”

tartaglia went quiet for a moment, basking in your arms. it wasn’t often he got to come back home to snezhnaya—he was the harbinger most frequently sent on foreign missions. and as much as you loved how he would bring you home every little thing he passed by that made him think of you, you would much rather have him home with you.

it was exhausting—you knew that the higher ranked harbingers did it on purpose. tartaglia was aggressive and confrontational, and politics in snezhnaya between the aristocrats and the fatui was tense. and the aristocrats did not like tartaglia because he was very much prone to calling them out on their lies and bluffs.

“anthon and tonia and teucer… they really love you, y’know?” tartaglia finally said after a minute, rolling over onto his stomach, resting his chin on your chest as he looked up at you, all but smushing you beneath him. “i’ve never seen them take to someone like they have to you.”

“they’re good kids,” you smiled fondly at the thought of them, brushing an orange curl from tartaglia’s eyes. you nearly let out a giggle as he captured your wrist in his hand—the movement swift and sudden—to bring your hand to his lips so he could kiss your palm. “tonia comes over often to bake with me when you’re on missions. i’ll have to show you what she’s taught me.”

because you were quite helpless when it came to cooking, tartaglia’s family often stopped by or invited you over for meals, and on days you were alone, you simply went out to a tavern to eat. at your words, tartaglia’s eyes shot open on surprise.

“show me?” he laughed nervously, and you had half a mind to pinch his ear. “fine, fine, but if i’m sick after, you’ll have to take care of me, deal?”

“as if i don’t already do that anyway,” you shot back, rolling your eyes, and tartaglia smiled, blue eyes softening just a bit as his gaze traced your face.

“will you look after them?” tartaglia finally asked quietly. you sighed, realizing he was dragging the topic back to the one you were trying to avoid. “i don’t want them to be alone. our older siblings are rarely around, and our mother… i don’t know how well she’ll be after…”

after i die, you finished for him silently.

and your chest felt heavy, and you felt sad, but there was also a type of adoration clawing at your heart as you noticed the earnest expression in tartaglia’s face as he searched yours for an answer. you had always known he loved you but this was different, because there’s nothing in the world that he loves more than his family and he was entrusting them to you when the fate that he thought was inevitable finally caught up with him.

“yeah,” you said, and your voice sounded half-strangled but you forced yourself to speak anyway. “of course i’d look after them.”

and tartaglia looked far more at peace now as he let his eyes slide shut and his head fall against your chest. he was falling asleep easily, as he always did when he was in your arms, but now you were wide awake, eyes tracing his face, memorizing each little freckle and scar like it was the last time you’d be able to see them after his cruel reminder that one day, he would be gone and you would be alone.

or maybe not alone, but you wouldn’t be with him.

“you scare me sometimes, ajax,” you said softly, too quiet for him to overhear. he was fast asleep anyway, snoring softly against your chest, but you didn’t dare speak louder than a whisper in fear of waking him up.

the scars that littered his body, the emptiness of his eyes, the way that sometimes he was in physical pain just moving around the cabin because of how worn down his body was—it scared you. you were watching him die and could only watch him put on a strong facade and a smile around you and his siblings as to not worry anybody.

“stop staring at me and go to sleep,” he grumbled sleepily, not even opening his eyes, making you wonder if somehow, even in his sleep he could tell you were watching him.

“i thought you were sleeping,” you replied quietly and he didn’t say anything, the soft whistle of a snore resounding around the room as a response.

you smiled fondly, leaning down to press your lips against head as you settled back into the pillows of the bed, holding him just a bit tighter as you finally began to doze off.

Hello, so I didn’t see anything in you rules about like pregnancy/parenting so just sharing my brain rot, but feel free to delete this ask if it makes you uncomfortable!!

But, Smooches, as a little guy obsessed with genetics and science (planning on getting a degree in biology and other human sciences!!!ヽ(•̀ω•́ )ゝ✧ (my love for dottore has made me more and more of a deranged scientist…)) I’m just thinking about the Harbingers and how strong/dominant their genes might be…

We’ve only seen one of Childe’s siblings (Teucer) but I imagine in genes are STRONG cause his brother is almost the same as him 😭😭 Like you guys have a kid and they have the same blue eyes and ginger hair as Childe!

I also think it would be funny to have a kid with Dottore. I personally believe his genes are actually pretty recessive, but it’s funny to imagine having a kid with him and they look so similar to him everyone thinks it’s another one of his clones! It’s not until they get older or maybe call Dottore ‘father’ or something that it clicks in everyone’s mind that they’re not a clone!

Also, so many of the Fatui Harbingers have multi-colored hair (Arlecchino, Pantalone, Pierrio, Childe and Scaramouche all having a lighter or darker streak. I assume Columbina’s is dyed?) Just imagine their kid inheriting that!!

Oughh… i know all the harbingers would probably be terrible parents but I wanna be all domestic and lovey with them so bad 😭😭 [📺]

UGH YES THIS IS VERY CUTE,,, I TOO AM THINKING ABOUT THIS NOW! But yeah, I guess I never really thought about it but, you are right they look super alike 😭. (But honestly, I wouldn't be surprised when we meet the rest of Childe's family in Snezhnaya, they all look the same purely because that's what is easiest for HYV 😭)

Having a kid with Childe would be like having a mini him around and he absolutely adores it. It would be funny if you two kept trying to have a mini you, but instead all you got was mini Childes running around the place. 😭 AND DOTTORE 😭 I love that no one realizes it's his actual kid because 1. he's not going out of his way to explain the whole situation and 2. no one is questioning the existence of another blue-haired red-eye rascal. (Though when some people *cough those three particular annoying Harbingers* start to get too close to his kid, his irritation is noticeable.)

I imagine their kid does inherit the hairstreak, but in a different part of their hair 🥹 (Also, Pantalone's and Childe's hair streaks make me WDBAHDABWDW i love it sm. But then again the angst hcs of Pantalone getting the gray streak from using his Delusion make me🥲)

Okay but just hear me out on them being parents!! 😤 Well it's obvious Dottore is... Dottore. He struggles to even be a good husband sometimes, so being a parent is... territory none of us can fathom. But, you know I like to think at the very least, he'll remember how he was treated as a kid when he looks at his child,,, especially if his child looks similar to him. Honestly, he leaves a lot of the actual early parenting to you because well,,, he is Dottore, he does not know how to do these kinds of things, his hands are not meant to raise and love. A lot of the time you have to force him to, and well a lot of the time he spends with his kid is them sitting on his lap while he dumps a lot of scientific facts on his child (trying his best to avoid any unethical ones) Really,, he does love his kid, but the way he shows it well,, will need a lot of work (he has a lot of time to improve though because he'll expand the life span of them as well 😅)

Childe, most obviously, would be a very good father if you ask me. He is a family man, he's taken care of his siblings for a long time, he knows exactly what to do not just for his kid but for you too. Despite how his job may keep him away for periods of time, he spends every ounce of free time that he can give away with his kid!! Pantalone too I think would be good, a lot of it stems from how he struggled a lot as a child and he can never imagine his own child ever going through the same as him,, so i can see him as a pretty good parent :3

See, Pierro has the potential to be a very good parent, however, his job literally consumes all of his time,,, like of course he wants to spend time with his kid! He wants to tell them all about his old home and teach them the history and all! But with all of his trauma and other stuff going on, he doesn't become a better parent until he becomes Wanderer,, it's then when he really devotes more attention to raising his kid. Also is unconsciously overprotective of his kid because of how he lost the little boy centuries ago, so at least they'll never be in harm's way!

Arlecchino already has experience parenting, though she has work to do in like... the emotional and bonding section. Though she holds her children in the orphanage in a fond light, she still keeps them at arm's length because they are her soldiers... but she loves her kid very much!! Columbina is like, the fun parent, you're the one doing the discipline,, She is the one who loves to dress up your kid,, the one who probably lets them get away not eating their veggies 😭 But she is very very scary when she's mad so your kid knows not to get on her bad side!! Also good at putting the kid to sleep with her singing! Sandrone- well... kind of similar to Dottore. You and her child are the only two people she likes. But she also struggles a lot, and leaves a lot of parenting up to you,, though she and her robots keep a very watchful eye on the kid, she does not want them getting hurt with all the things around her lab! She ends up gaining more confidence when she finds out her kid likes to be in her lab during robot rides 🥹 Signora, I can also see being a pretty good parent! She just gives that vibe! I like to think she also has somewhat of a soft spot for kids! She loves taking care of her kid and watching them grow up :3

Ugh, thinking about soft WrioChi again. We all know they would fuck hard and nasty and beat each other bloody for a fun spar, tease and poke and prod, but let's take a moment of appreciation for the concept of them also valuing nothing else more than each other's most genuine smiles, a rare commodity for them both.

The look Childe gives him when Wriothesley gives in to one of his whims and goes along with a bit makes Wrio feel the trouble is worth it. When Childe's softest smile cracks through as he talks about Teucer's latest shenanigans or his gift for Tonia, Wrio can feel himself warm at the core. This is what a family should feel like. He sometimes sees that same look directed at himself, when Childe thinks he's not looking, and he thinks Childe might as well be carving a hole out in his chest to live in. He wonders what kind of wallpaper lines his insides now. When he sees that sated, elated grin after a good spar, it re-energizes him all over again. The soft proud upturn that appears at the corners of Childe's mouth when he praises his food can power Wriothesley through four more hours of dreary tax paperwork with ease. The unbidden relaxed smile Childe gets in his sleep after Wriothesley kisses his forehead before getting out of bed soothes his soul and makes him devoutly do his utmost to craft a world where that smile can come to Childe easier each day.

Childe can never get enough of the buzz he gets in his bones when he successfully gets a chuckle out of Wriothesley with his antics. His heart races unmanageably the first time Wrio flashes him a victory smile in the ring, flushed from exertion, untethered and wild, inhibition set to the side like a wolf set loose, his blood and pride sweet on Childe's lips. It's addictive, and he drinks it in, his own loss secondary to the captivating sight before him. All of it is nothing though, compared to the high he feels when he can coax out the full belly laugh from the man, complete with an inelegant snort. The way the corners of his eyes pinch and his fangs flash, his nose crinkling, and his cheeks dusted with pink, Childe would pay money to have it captured on film. He can ride that feeling for weeks, keeping him going through injuries that would kill a lesser man. He can't die. He has to see it again. Sometimes, his heart clenches painfully whenever he sees Wriothesley finally put down his pen and papers. The way the man's shoulders drain of tension and his face looks so much younger when he gives a tired grin and asks "Did I keep you waiting?" makes Childe wish he could afford let go more often. To say nothing about the blissful expression that graces Wriothesley's face when he serves the perfect cup of tea, a warm meal, and lets him rest his head. If he could bottle up the raw, adoring smile he gets blessed with when he kisses him or whips out a little gift, Childe would do so in a heartbeat and observe it every day from every angle. And when he gets up before Wriothesley, he can barely bear to leave the bed, enraptured by the content, peaceful look on Wrio's face as he sleeps. He would protect it with his life for a long as his body could keep up with his spirit.

✧ Despite being by your side for quite some time now, he never noticed this habit of yours until recently. Maybe that was because he never really got the chance to catch you off guard just like he did right now.

✧ He is on his way to work when he notices that he left some important documents at home, which is why he turns around and quickly makes his way to your shared apartment again, slightly annoyed because he is definitely gonna be late for work. He doesn't waste any more time, immediately grabbing the papers that he left on the kitchen table before, already making his way out the door again when he suddenly hears a low humming coming from your bedroom. He frowns and decides to check up on you, making his way to the source of the humming as quiet as possible.

✧ Suddenly his work isn't so important anymore and he ignores that he should really get going. I mean, how could he? Instead he lingers at the door, silently listening to the sound of your voice, low humming slowly getting louder as your singing echoes through the apartment. He can't help but smile, crossing his arms and raising his eyebrows as he gets lost in the sweet sound of the voice that he loves so dearly.

✧ You would think that he is going to make some kind of cocky remarks and interrupt you at some point, but NO, not this time. He is not even bothered by the fact that you don't notice his presence. In fact he is actually glad that you don't notice him because he doesn't want this moment to end.

✧ He never told you about this, too afraid of ruining it for you and making you feel embarrassed. Also because, ever after this day, he makes sure to pay attention to you whenever he notices you focusing on something, hoping to hear your sweet voice again. You don't even have to be good at singing because every little sound, no matter how bad it might be, makes his heart flutter in excitement. And once he starts pays attention to it, he catches you singing quite often, asking himself how he could have missed that before.

✧ You never understood why he suddenly started calling you his "little songbird" but you don't really mind it, thinking it is a lot cuter than the nicknames he usually gives you, which are more often than not used for teasing you.

✧ "Oh, don't mind me. I'm just enjoying the little show you put on for me, my little songbird."

✧ It is no secret that he adores literally everything about you, from the way your cheeks turn red whenever he teases you to the warmth of your soft hands whenever he needs to feel you close to him. So it is really no surprise that he finds this especially cute.

✧ "What was that?" he asks when he hears you singing for the first time. He takes a look around him, searching for you. He was so focused on writing a letter to his family that he didn't really pay attention to you. At least until he saw you standing in the kitchen, cleaning the stove thoroughly while singing a song he recognized almost immediately. You must have picked it up the last time Teucer visited you two.

✧ Doesn't waste any time, dropping his pen and making his way to the kitchen to greet you with a big smile on his face. Not only did you sing in front of him for the first time, it also seems like you are learning more about his culture, which makes his heart race. Your pronunciation is far from perfect but that just makes him adore you even more, knowing that you try your best. He can't help but let his thoughts wander until he snaps out of his trance and pulls you into his arms, nutzling his face into your neck.

✧ "How can you do this to my weak heart, huh? Being all cute and giving me a heartattack."

Zhongli

✧ Being the attentive person he is, he thought that he knew everything about you. Every of your cute little habits that make his heart flutter like the one of a young man in love, he paid attention to, trying to learn more and more about you.

✧ Though you eventually proved him wrong, catching him by surprise as you pass him, making your way to the living room, singing a calm melody while being completely lost in thought. You don't even notice the way he slowly closes the book he was reading until you entered the room, his curious gaze lingering on you as you keep singing to yourself.

✧ He wonders what made you do that. Are you focused? Happy? He doesn't know. Over the next couple of weeks he notices that you start singing quite often and it also seems to be the same song everytime. He has to admit that he found a liking to it. Your sweet melody reminds him of warm days in spring, your voice being the wind that envelops him with warmth whenever he hears you singing.

✧ It wasn't until he found himself humming your song at work that he noticed how invested he was in your little habit. Of course Hu Tao would mock him for it, making fun of him acting all love-struck. But he didn't mind that. He likes the thought of having a small part of you with him wherever he goes.

very good at cooking once you teach him!! he spent a lot of time on the street growing up (pup got lost in the forest instead of the abyss lol) so he was very used to just scraping up whatever he could find for a long time but show him how to use a measuring cup, give him a cookbook, and you’ll have a five star meal in no time!! definitely uses those little stamp cut-out things on nori to add little faces and characters to your lunches. he’s so cute handing the box to you all smiles and wagging tail before you head off, promising to be good while you’re gone!! and usually he is, tidying up and preparing dinner are his specialties.

he’s… very nervous to introduce you to his family at first, to say the least. puptaru is very protective over both you and his family so he worries over the what ifs. what if they don’t like you? what if you don’t like them? what if someone gets hurt? you assure him all his fretting is over nothing but he’ll only relax when he watches Teucer and Anthon climb all over you and nibble your fingers while giggling. puptaru is swooning as you read and play with all of his siblings!! he hopes at one day you can have pups of your own with him!! and you’re absolutely right, he’s a mommas boy. loves his mom and her cooking so much!! he does do most of the cooking between you two but watching you learn all these family recipes?? oh how he wishes to marry you right that second… no matter, you’ll be his mate and wife soon!!

When you had to leave for a while you gave him gave him precise instructions on how to care for every single one
