Hello! Can I request tsukishima & number 13 for your ask game please 💝
Hellooooo, so since you didn't specify which Tsukishima and I've always wanted to write about my dearest, beloved, big brother Akiteru, I'm gonna write about him.
Your heart fits like a key - Tsukishima Akiteru x Reader
Akiteru knows he shouldn’t complain. There are plenty of people out there who have it worse than him. Most days he’s fine with it, truly, can take his little brother’s attitude as what it is - he’s still just a prickly teenager after all.
But sometimes, everything cuts a little deeper, and playing for some team feels more like a burden than joy. He’s barely above average, not tall enough, not strong enough, not quick enough… not smart enough.
There are days when he doubts he’s doing the right thing.
It’s on a day like that he spots you in the stands, oversized hoodie making you look smaller than you are. You’re clapping and cheering for every point and if he plays a little better just because of you, it’s going to be his secret and his alone.
You’re incredibly cute, but he just can’t bring himself to approach you.
He’s just some player, after all. Not the ace, not the Captain, who misses at least one training session per week because of College.
Akiteru would readily nag Kei if he ever dared to talk like that.
But he’s not above admitting it himself. He’s a little scared and not at all ready to face his fears.
Until you come by again.
And again.
And again.
-
By now he knows your name, your College major, and your favorite drink. You’re related to the team's Libero - or at least your mother’s are very close - and you tend to sit next to Akiteru when the team goes out for drinks after a game.
It’s pretty obvious to those who’ve got to know him, how he falls silent the moment you slip into the spot next to him. How he can’t help but listen to every word you speak, even if it’s just you mumbling over what to order.
If only they’d stop trying to matchmake.
“Oh, Akiteru,” Tsutomu claps him on the shoulder, “Can you do me a favor?”
“Uh, sure, what do you need?”
Tsutomu points at the door. You’re waving back at him and Akiteru’s heart lurches up into his throat.
“Can you walk her home? I promised but my girlfriend’s back and I’d much rather spend time with her.”
Cold sweat is running down his neck. He can’t say no, but can he say yes?
-
Your hand folds around his, your skin warm against the coldness of his.
“Tsutomu says you’re into me,” you tell him, warm eyes not leaving him as he chokes on his breath. “Is he lying?”
“You should know,” Akiteru chokes out when he’s able to breathe again, “That I’m not a great volleyball player. I didn’t play one game in High School.”
“And?”
“And?” He asks back, a little confused. Shouldn’t that be enough reason?
“Are you aware that volleyball skills are not that important for a relationship?”
There’s a moment of silence, tense enough that he could hear a pin drop. Your hand is still folded around his, his heart beats too fast to be healthy.
Your lips form into a smile and he can’t help but mirror it.
Soon you are giggling, and he’s laughing along.
Sometimes he feels less then, but today, he feels on top of the world.
My Kofi if you want to tip me

BF TSUKKI<3
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
plot: random bf tsukki headcanons. reader insert.
a/n: your honor i love him. also i wrote this on a whim while listening to body paint by arctic monkeys
proofread?did i proofread this??idk :D
"and if you're thinking of me, then i'm probably thinking of you"
tsukishima wakes up super early to have enough time to be a hater
he really doesn't, he probably sleeps super late, spending the time on his phone and wakes up moderately early, like 10-11 AM
doesn't want akiteru to find out about him being in a relationship, he'll probably annoy him the fuck out and make him uncomfortable
so you don't really hang out at his house and the one time akiteru saw the pair of you walking down the street, he jumped in to ask you if you were his s/o and you kinda lagged out, not really knowing what to answer since you knew kei didn't want him to know for the time being but also feeling guilty for lying
kei saved it though
lmao no he didn't, akiteru was sure that you were his partner after that encounter
you, kei and tadashi are such a power trio, its kinda like those shonen trios (nobara/megumi/yuuji, aki/power/denji)
ukai teases you a lot as his assistant and eventually takeda sensei starts doing so too in his own ways
but whenever hinata or kageyama do so, tsuki goes well, tsuki mode
tanaka and nishinoya probs ogle after you but when guys from other teams do so they protect you out of respect for you and their teammate's honor
tsukishima often sends you songs that remind him of you, he never outright tells you so but you figure it out after the first few times he sends them to you.
looks over at you after scoring a point or doing a great block to see your reaction, his chest swells with pride
dumbass (affectionate)
tries to annoy you a lot but you know it's out of love
you're kind of like the default settings for him. sad? go to y/n. happy? y/n. wants to go out? y/n. is hungry? y/n might be hungry too so he's gonna pick up something extra for you too.
would die if he made you feel uncomfortable, like you don't understand how sick with himself he would feel if he ever made you feel like that.
super proud of you when you say something he would to the team. everyone's like "YOU CORRUPTED THEM >:(" and he's in the back smiling smugly and patting your head.
cuddly when sleepy. my brother in christ will on god lay on top of you, literally almost crush u, push his face in your neck and whine but as soon as you coo at him and say something along the lines of "aw is my baby sleepy?" he'll DENY e v e r y t h i n g. he's worse than youtubers getting caught red handed committing a crime. like tf you mean, there's literally evidence📸
he thinks about you so much throughout the day, you're his safe space <//3
he is kind of insecure though. when he notices other teams approaching you, it's then that others' comments about him begin to soak in.
of course he wouldnt admit it but you can see it in the way his face falls
tell him you love him and wont leave him 🔪
sometimes cries about this at night
he knows other people could be more open about their feelings to you and you deserved to be told how perfect you are as much possible
but he tries so much :(
he never saw it as "just a relationship" what you have is one of the few things he actually takes seriously
tsukishima is great bf and i said what i said

𝙍𝙪𝙣𝙣𝙞𝙣𝙜 𝙘𝙤𝙡𝙙 ―
Tumblr media
𝑺𝒖𝒎𝒎𝒂𝒓𝒚: Kei was never one to hold so much value to a person in his life but now that you were gone, he realized you were more part of his life than he came to know. << part two of tidal waves >>
His mind hadn't comprehended what had happened back at the gym. He walked home like he usually did with his earphones in not paying attention to anything else.
It wasn't until he got home that his brother had asked him about you. As much as Akiteru loved his brother even if he understood he wasn't one to discuss his feelings, he knew he had done wrong.
"How could you have just let her go like that?!" Akiteru exclaimed.
"If you haven't forgotten I had practice." He responded in a monotone voice. "I wasn't going to walk out just to go chase her."
Kei stood up from the steps and sat his bag down next to his shoes at the front entrance.
"Kei you're not realizing what you just did." Akiteru said. "The one person who cared a lot about you is gone. Y/n has always been there for you she never once left your side even when you turned into an ass."
"Well maybe it was time she left." He admitted, a sigh escaped his lips as he took his glasses off. "There was no point in holding onto a relationship that's been slowly falling apart."
"Are you sure that's the reason?" His brother questioned him with crossed arms in front of his chest. "And it's not a stupid excuse for your fear of loving someone?"
"What... are you talking about?"
"Come on Kei," Akiteru looked at him in the eyes. "Since you started to grow up the only person you have been friends with or have dared yourself to call him a friend is Tadashi. You never cared about anyone else." He walked closer to his brother. "Then she appeared... and all that sense went out the window. You started to get closer to her without thinking about it. If you had disliked her so much you wouldn't have given her a second thought."
Kei looked at the ground as he held his glasses in his hand. It was true to some extent. When he first met you, he was attracted to you. He did not know what it was but it just happened.
Every time his eyes fell on you, you smiled back. Only talking to him when it was necessary or a simple greeting when you two passed by one another in the hallways.
Maybe it was the fact that you weren't overbearing or annoyed him like everyone else did, except Tadashi of course. He respected you but it went beyond that with him.
"I know you still care about her, Kei."
He turned his head to the side, looking back at Akiteru again. "How could you possibly know that?"
Akiteru smiled at him knowing he was right. "If I brought up anyone else you wouldn't have hesitated to interrupt me."
"Yeah well..." He mumbled going up the short steps and heading inside to the living room.
"You'll regret it if you don't make up your mind." Akiteru called out.
Kei shook his head slightly as he pushed his glasses back up to the bridge of his nose. As much of a cold person people thought he was, it did hurt him when he saw you walking away. He wanted to go after you but his pride got the better of him.
As he passed by the blue color couch, his phone caught his attention. He stopped and stood still in front of it as his eyes never looked away from it. His arm extending out to take it and paused midway. He closed his eyes, a sigh escaping his lips.
It was sinnister of him to think about contacting you, to check up on you and seeing if you were okay when he was the one who called it quits first. Still, he yearned to hear from you.
"I don't want to say something that'll make you feel even more worse than you already do but-"
"Y-yeah I know..." You breathed out as the tears wouldn't stop falling down.
"Tsukishima needs to know what he did to you." Your sister said as she rubbed your back gently. "He never even deserve you in the first place."
Your breathing became uneven, hiccups escaped from your mouth. "I-I just... I-I want to know why I was treated so shitty by him?"
"People like him never give any answers. They do it because it's natural to them. They don't care about who they hurt in the end."
"He was so sweet..." You shook your head and looked down at her lap. "I-I don't understand... I-I want to understand."
"Y/n." She looked at you with sympathy, handing you a tissue. "Sometimes the answers you are looking for are the ones that shouldn't be looked for in the first place. Tsukishima is one of those."
You blowed your nose as you tried to calm down your rapid breathing. "How could I have been so blind?..."
"You were in love." Your sister said pulling you into her arms. "Love is something hard to get rid of. Don't blame yourself for trusting the wrong person who promised you love." She wiped away the tears from your cheeks. "He's not worth those tears."
Burying your head into her chest you closed your eyes trying to ignore the pain that you felt in your eyes and the headache that was starting to form.
All you wanted was for this nightmare to be over.
There was a knock at your door, your sister ignored it as she held you close to her. Then your phone vibrated on the nightstand. Carefully she reached over, trying not to wake you up, and looked at it. The screen lit up with messages from your friends and Tsukishima as well.
Another knock was heard coming from the front door again. A message popped up from him again.
Kei ― 8:30 PM
I tried calling you but it went to voicemail.
Kei ― 8:40 PM
Tadashi told me he messaged you and you never responded. Are you okay?
Kei ― 10:31 PM
I know you probably don't want to see me and it's late. Can we talk? I'm outside your door right now.
Her hand formed into a fist as she heard the doorbell go off. Slowly she pulled away from you and covered you up with the blanket before treading downstairs as quietly as she could.
Kei put his hand into his pockets, pacing back and forth waiting for you. He checked his phone again seeing if his message had gone through. Biting his lip he looked up at your house, his eyes landing on your bedroom window seeing the light was turned off.
The door then swung open, he stepped back but saw it wasn't you who stood in the entrance.
"What are you doing showing your face here?" Your sister questioned with such anger in her voice.
He swallowed down and cleared his throat before speaking. "Can I speak with Y/n please?"
"You really think I'm going to let someone like you who doesn't take an account of other people's feeling, talk to my sister?" She spat. "You already tore her apart what more do you want from her?"
Kei's eyes casted downward. He had to admit hearing someone who was close to you talk to him like that did hurt. "I messed up... I have no right to talk to her but if I can just have a minute with her-"
"No." She stated, staring at him. "I will not let you belittle her again as long as I'm alive. You broke her, Y/n cried more over you than she ever has in her entire life. How can you stand here and demand to talk with her?! Don't you have any shame? Aren't you embarrassed?"
He moved one foot forward and looked at her. "I came here to make things right. Please let me talk with her."
She breathed out, smiling not believing what she was hearing. "Why don't you take no for an answer? Y/n doesn't want to be near you, she doesn't want to talk to you damn it! Leave her alone, Tsukishima she hates you."
He clenched his jaw, "I want to hear those words coming from her, not you."
"Why don't you just give it a rest huh? You're only making things worse."
"I don't care. I'm not leaving until we both talk without you butting in." He said.
Your sister gripped the doorknob tightly. "Well then keep waiting because that's not going to happen anytime soon. And if you don't leave then I'll have no choice but to call the cops, asshole!"
Kei climbed up the porch stairs, "Listen here-"
She managed to shut the door in his face, leaving him outside alone with his anger. He ran his hand through his hair slightly pulling on the ends.
His phone vibrated, it was a message from you and one from his brother.
Y/n ― 10:50 PM
There's nothing else to say, you chose and I listened. It's time this ends.
Kei ― 10:51 PM
Please let's talk about his before we call it quits.
Y/n ― 10:52 PM
I never called it quits. You did.
Kei decided to call you instead. As the ringing sounded, his anxious state rose. Silently hoping that you'd pick up and you would be able to talk.
But it kept ringing and ringing
finally it went to voicemail.
He dialed your number again, hoping this time you would answer his call. He was about to end the call but you voice finally came through and it made his heart flutter with happiness.
"I told you to not call me." You said, sniffling.
"Please hear me out." He said. "I want us to talk, Y/n."
"Now you want to use that card? You want to finally talk after what happened?"
Kei sighed as his eyes closed, trying to picture himself next to you. "I know I messed up, Y/n."
"You did more than mess up, Kei." You bit your lip trying hard to steady your voice. "You intentionally hurt me without caring about how it would make me feel."
"I know I know― god I screwed up the one thing I enjoyed having in my life." He said. "I won't ever be able to mend the pain I caused you or make it go away." His eyes became glossy, his voice was starting to slightly break. "I was an i-idiot for not realizing how bad I was treating you. I-I should have valued you since a long time ago. I had you in my life when I didn't think how lucky I was to have you."
You let the tears silently escape as you heard his voice.
"I wish I could fix this.. fix the the ache I caused you."
"But you can't, t-that's the thing." You wiped away the tears from your eyes with your palm. "Once the person that you love hurts you, there's no going back to how you were. The whole will always be there... y-you can apologize how many times you want but will never mend."
"You're right...I'll never be able to forgive myself for hurting the person I had promised to love." He took off his glasses wiping away his tears with his sleeve. "Even though I can't go back in time I wanted to tell you how sorry I am for not acting better and treating you like someone precious in my life."
"Why are you just... apologizing now? You had all the time to make things right... why now?..."
"Because it's true what they say..." He paused for second then continued. "You never realize what you have until it's gone and it took for you to be done with me and my brother to put sense back into my head, to face the truth."
"You know what sucks?" You asked.
"What?"
You sighed, "That despite it all... everything you did. I still love you and I hate myself that I do."
A small smile formed on his lips. "I still love you too, Y/n. Even though I didn't tell you enough times... I love you no matter what."
"Is this even right... to continue?"
"Honestly, I didn't think about it. All I wanted was to see you."
By now your breathing had turned back to normal and the wet tears were now dry as if they never happened.
"I think it's now clear, with all that happened today and before. It's becoming obvious that what we had was never made to last."
His breath got caught in his throat. "Don't say that..."
"Think about it, Kei." You said almost pleading him to realize the truth. "The relationship were in didn't feel like one anymore. We were both in a routine that didn't have any feelings at all. Everyday we spend together felt like something we had to do not because we wanted to-"
He cut you off, "You're wrong. I was the one who made it seem like it didn't matter not you. I gave up halfway thinking I didn't deserve you. You did everything right, Y/n. I just didn't put enough effort to make things right knowing I was ruining things."
"Kei."
"But I know if we try again, this time the right way. It won't be like it was before... things will be different."
"How do you know?" You questioned feeling hope disappearing. "How do you know we're not bound to make the same mistakes again and again?"
"Because this time I know we can get through this." He said confidently. "I love you too much to repeat the same mistake again with you. I don't want to live every day knowing you're not with me anymore when I could have changed and made things right."
You loved him you did, despite it all. Now seeing this side of him and hearing him say those words you hadn't heard in a long time made your heart yearn for him. But you felt uncertain, afraid.
"Y/n?..."
"I want to believe you... I-I really do but I can't."
He nodded even though you couldn't see him, "Right..."
"I don't want to feel hurt, I want to feel confident in a relationship and not second guess everything or feel scared of getting a deeper hole inside of me."
Kei knew you were right but he didn't want to accept it. He did not want to let you go just yet.
"Give me a chance... please." He pleaded.
You wanted to give in, to say yes and throw caution into the wind but you were only going to make things worse.
"I'm sorry but it's time we take our own separate ways." You breathed out, slowly walking over to your balcony window and opening it up. Looking down you saw him standing there with his head tilted back and looking at the sky. "I love you enough to let you go, Kei. We both need space to grow... because we can't continue on like this."
"I never thought how much it would hurt to hear you say that." He mumbled.
"I don't want to let you go... I want to stay beside you but it needs to happen."
You were both dying on the inside, craving to run into each other's arms but you had to hold back.
Kei turned to look at your balcony seeing you were standing there, the moonlight illuminating those features he loved so much.
"It never should have come to this... I'm sorry that it did."
A weak smile formed on your lips. "We were bound to crash and burn sooner or later. But we unfortunately found out too late."
"Even now you still look so damn beautiful."
A blush crept up your cheeks making you happy and sad at the same time.
"Promise me we will find each other again, and this time we won't keep it quiet about how we feel. I don't want to live knowing our love is still there."
"I'll make sure to let you know how I feel, Kei."
He smile widely, giving you the smile you deserved to see everyday when you were with him. Tears escape from his eyes, but that smile you adored never left.
"I love you, Y/n. I love you so much... I'm sorry for everything I did to you."
You cried looking at him, trying to smile as well.
"I-I love you too." Your voice cracked. "Goodbye Kei Tsukishima."
Neither of you dared to end the call. You were too attached with hope of things working out in the future but until then you needed to let go.
Kei breathed out smiling sadly. His hand shaking as he ended the call.
"Goodbye, Y/n."

I’ve been sitting on this AU for ages but finally caught up on S2 this weekend and got re-inspired to share it!!! I was so excited to see how well a lot of characters worked with the new content :000
If you take nothing else from this: Raeda Ukatake Raeda Ukatake Raeda Ukatake thank you for your time.
Spoilery content and more notes on the AU under the cut!!!
Tumblr media
I love the parallels so much of Shoyo being naturally disadvantaged at magic but ‘finding a way to fly’ with glyphs!! And Kageyama learning to recognise what he does as a legitimate form of witchcraft and support him!!
Can’t believe “so you two go to the same school now, that doesn’t change anything!” Is canon
Kagehina Grom Danceeee
Natsu would be V - Shoyo is especially anxious to help her since she’s so young!
Can you believe I assigned the roles for this AU before Willow and Hunter had even interacted? I’m going to be replaying Tsukkiyama “Please, Captain” and “The real Tadashi would never be afraid of me” in my head for a while <3 It’s what they deserve
Yachi’s anxious spirals manifest physically as illusions like Gus’ (like her panic about being murdered or being homeless because she forgot the boys’ names)!!
Yachi as the head of the human appreciation society!
Sidenote: Hinata, Yachi and Yamaguchi as the best friend trio makes me unspeakably happy
As does the recent episodes that would have Tsukishima bonding with Yamayachi too
This is the one AU where I won’t torture Oikawa - he gets to fill the twins’ role, dragging Iwaizumi along when the plot needs two people lol. Oikawa and Kageyama mentorship: Good Ending - not sure if they’d be actual brothers or maybe step-brothers? But there’s some tension but ultimately Oikawa looks out for Tobio.
Nekomata (plus Ukai Sr) is the one who cursed Keishin- his old mentor(s), who initially pushed him to join the Emperor’s Coven thinking it was a safer strategy to be on the inside rather than hunted, and try to make change from there. They ‘cursed’ him by mistake, trying to use a spell to make him stronger because they weren’t confident he could pass the exam to get into the Emperor’s Coven.
Ukai Sr is the one Keishin injured, pushing him into retirement, which Keishin can’t forgive himself for
Tbh Nekomata and Ikkei could be switched around or like share those roles
Asahi initially is living with Ukai and helping where he can because he seems to be the last of his kind and doesn’t have anywhere else to go (and doesn’t know what he is, like King)
Him being a Titan, increasing his loneliness and his anxiousness about his size and power, makes me VERY sad /pos
Kuroo would fill Darius’ role (potentially with Bokuto as Eberwolf or another sympathetic Coven Head)- trying to look out for Kei and push him in the right direction
Akiteru would be a previous Golden Guard! For some reason there would be multiple attempts going at once, and they’ve been told that they’re brothers. The rift between them is because Akiteru “Betrayed the Emperor” (escaped) and is a Traitor and Kei is totally angry about That and not the fact that he left him behind (they will eventually reconnect)
Ittetsu’s Rhapsody. That’s all.
No but really. Ukai and Takeda as a little jock/nerd duo but Ittetsu breaking things off because Keishin won’t be honest about the curse and then leading a little rebel group and god it’s all so good <3 Raeda Ukatake is what originally sparked the idea for the AU
Ukatake True Love Duet
Coach Washijo would fill the role of Belos, with his focus on doing things the Right Way, his resistance to change, his mistrust of things that aren’t what he’s used to, his desire for power and order
Ushijima and Tendou (and potentially the rest of Shiratorizawa) would be high-ranking Coven Scouts, filling the narrative role that Kikimora does. Tendou is mostly sticking around because he wants to be able to use multiple kinds of magic and here he’s been told he’s allowed to. Ushijima is there so he doesn’t have to compromise his abilities. Both would eventually defect.
Kenma has a very different personality to the Collector in the show- it would focus on how BORED he is,, he needs something to entertain him because he’s going stir crazy. “I don’t really care about the draining spell but he said he’d get me out so :/”
There’s definitely stuff I’ve forgotten I have a lot of thoughts about this!!!!!

haikyuu ship headcanons!!!
kagehina
• everyone is really confused when they get together but like not surprised?
• they’re constantly on eachother
• like when they’re alone they’re always cuddling or hinata is sitting on top of kageyama. when they’re in public hinata sits on kags lap or makes kags give him piggyback rides
• one time during a game kageyama yelled hinatas name and grabbed his shirt and everyone thought they were gonna fight but he just goes “nice kill!” and gives him a kiss before going back to playing
• they’re both the ceo’s of “my bf can beat your ass”
• stupid teenage boys, like they do things that are so awkward bc they’re still weird teenagers
• they share one braincell, always have, always will
• kageyama is actually really good with hinatas sister and won’t admit it but loves little kids, hinata finds it adorable
• “you’d be a great dad kageyama, we should have kids!” “...how would that work? i can’t get you pregnant...right???”
tsukkiyama
• everyone thinks that they’re dating before they start actually dating
• “oh yeah she really likes tsukishima but we know you’re dating him so” “i’m not though???”
• once they’ve let everyone know that they aren’t dating a bunch of girls start asking tsukishima out, he declines all of them
• they end up getting together like a month later, it only took that long bc yamaguchi was too nervous to make a move and tsukki didn’t think that yams liked him back
• tsukki’s not too crazy about pda so they don’t go any farther than holding hands when they walk home and quick kisses on the cheek once in a while
• when they’re alone is another story
• these boys have liked eachother since they were like 11 so they have a lot to make up for
• one time akiteru walked in on them in the middle of them making up, shirts off, yams hands down tsukki’s pants and screamed
• tsukki refused to eat dinner if his brother was there for like a week
• since they’re so anti-pda whenever hinata, noya, or tanaka catches them doing anything they don’t stop mentioning it for the rest of the day
• they definitely get married when they’re 20 and don’t tell anyone
daisuga
• started dating in their second year
• after they started dating noya kept calling them mom and dad and it stuck
• “i’m not your dad”
• “you can’t call me mom if you don’t listen to me when i put you in time out”
• suga gets daichi a “kiss the cook” apron
• whenever they kiss in front of the team someone always yells “ewww mom and dad are kissing!!”
• once hinata and noya we’re doing somthing stupid and suga said that he’d record it for them. tsukki was extra annoyed at hinata that week so he showed daichi and they got in trouble. suga is like trying not to laugh and daichi just like “babe, did you know about this” and suga just activated his puppy dog eyes and is like “no! i can’t believe they’d do that
• daichi always says no when the rest of the team wants to do somthing stupid and suga just gives them the thumbs up behind his back
• they’re just really cute and have such a mom/dad dynamic
iwaoi
• girls constantly flirt with oikawa and he’s just like “sorry ladies, i’m taken”
• everyone’s trying to figure out who the lucky girl is untill one day oikawa goes “hey baby!” and runs over to iwaizumi and gives him a kiss
• “we shouldn’t known, pretty boys like that always end up being gay”
• oikawa swears that iwaizumi is nice to him when they’re alone
• iwa can go from “shittykawa can you shut the fuck up?!” to “hey honey, you know you’re really cute when you do that” and vise versa, real quick
• “iwa-chan, let me sit on your lap!” “no” “baby pleaseee” “that’s not going to work” “pleaseeee” “get your hand off of my dick, we’re in public asshole”
• after they lose to karasuno, iwa makes oikawa sleep over at his house bc hes been crying all day
• iwaizumi has to excuse himself to the bathroom to cry bc he doesn’t want oikawa to see him cry
• they really do care about eachother a lot even though iwaizumi doesn’t show it often
• oikawa refers to iwa as his boyfriend and he’s like “shut up you’re so annoying” but still ends up blushing
bokuaka
• these boys are in l o v e
• you know in coming of age movies when there’s always that one couple that everyone admires? that’s them, minus the problems that those couples always have
• a month after they started dating bokuto tells kuroo “i’m gonna marry him” and kuroo says that he doesn’t doubt it
• whenever bokuto gets into a mood he always asks to talk to akaashi
• everyone is in love with akaashi and while bokuto is jealous he doesn’t blame them
• “there’s so many other people as school that you could date! you deserve someone like them...why don’t you like any of them?” “because bokuto-san, they’re not you...i love you and you only” “...akaashi, i’m gonna cry!!!i love you too!!”
• bokuto always has a hand on akaashi’s waist (sometimes his ass when he wants to be annoying)
• bokuto refuses to leave until akaashi kisses him goodbye
• “bokuto-san, you’re gonna be late for class” “pleaseeeeee just a kiss on the cheek” “go to class, love. there’s people around and i don’t want to bother them”
kuroken
• they don’t really know when they started dating, it just kinda happened?
• like one day someone was like “are you too dating?” and they were like “huh, i guess so”
• “kuroo, i love you...but not as much as animal crossing. leave me alone” kuroo desides to buy him stuff for his gaming set up in hopes of winning him over. it works.
• they’ve been friends for so long that getting into a relationship was hard but also easy. they didn’t want to ruin anything but also they already had the bond.
• when they’re older and kenma is a youtuber or whatever kuroo makes an appearance once and all the comments are thirsting over him and he’s just like “oh, that’s my boyfriend. you probably won’t see him much but yeah” and everyone’s like ??????boyfriend???? but ends up loving them and they always ask to see more of kuroo

Apologize
Title: Apologize
Ship: Tsukishima Kei/Yamaguchi Tadashi
Summary: Tsukishima Kei and Yamaguchi Tadashi have been holding in their feelings for so long, and finally, some are let out. How many are still inside?
Word Count: 1k
Requested By: n/a
Warnings/Tags:hurt/comfort, friends to lovers, tsundere tsukishima kei, touch starved tsukishima kei, trauma, childhood trauma, tsukishima kei is bad at feelings, tsukishima kei & yamaguchi tadashi friendship, awkward tsukishima kei, sad yamaguchi tadashi, yamaguchi tadashi is a good friend
Author’s Note: i think this one is part 2 material
Tadashi was staying the night at Kei’s house. Mainly because they are friands, and friends do that right? They’ve done it almost every weekend since middle school. Mainly, because they enjoy each other's company, and this way they can study together. But also, partly because Tadashi's home life isn’t the best, and it gives him an excuse to be away, and Kei can use it as an excuse to avoid his brother.
This has been going on for years. Kei never pushed about why Tadashi doesn’t feel at home, in his family’s house, and Tadashi never pushed Kei to talk to Akiteru. They had a comfortable system, and it worked for them.
That is until tonight.
It was the weekend after the spring finals, and a big game like that, is bound to exhaust anyone, both physically and mentally. So naturally, after holding everything in for so long, the boys finally open up.
Tadashi tells Kei about how his Mom is never around, and constantly traveling, and that his dad isn’t exactly loyal. He tells Kei how it’s something he’s used to, and that it doesn’t really affect him too much, but he doesn’t like all of the lying. So he stays at Kei’s when he can, and they treat him like family, even if Kei doesn’t show it at school.
Kei is understanding. He reiterates that Tadashi can stay at his house anytime, and that if he ever needs anything he will be there, just as he always has. And that his parents probably shouldn’t put all of the pressure on him that they do.
Tadashi is grateful, and it feels so good for him to finally tell someone. But that wasn’t the main reason he told Kei. He knew Kei had suspected anyway, and that he didn’t really need to say anything for Kei to be supportive.
He just wants him to open up, to finally let out all of those feelings he’s been holding in since middle school. Tadashi knew how close Kei used to be to his brother. He knew that Akiteru was his best friend, and that he was the reason that Kei started volleyball. He knew that Akiteru practically raised Kei, because their parents were both pretty high up in the business industry and worked a lot. Tadashi knows that Akiteru loves his brother, probably more like he would love a son.
But Kei doesn’t know that. Kei still believes that his brother is untrustworthy. He still believes that Akiteru is pathletic for pretending to be something he’s not. He still believes that Akiteru was a phony and a fraud. He still blames Akiteru for so much. He only just found his love for volleyball again, and maybe he can find his love for his brother again.
“He lied to me every day,” Kei finally said. He wasn’t stupid, he knew that Tadashi wanted to know what really happened. And after all these years, he deserved it, with all that he’s done for him.
“He used to tell me about the games he would ‘play’ in.” Kei, chuckled. A dark sound. “He used to tell me about how he was the Ace of the team. How he would score the winning point every time.
“He used to tell me about all of these different things, every day. And all of it was a lie. It’s not even like it was just one lie he told me every day. It was a bunch of new, little tiny lies, every day. And volleyball wasn't the only thing.
“He used to tell me things about our parents. He used to tell me that they loved us, and each other, and that they just had to work a lot.
“Not long after I found out he was a benchwarmer in High School, I also found out that my parents had been separated for two years, and I didn't even know about it. They were not only away for work all the time, but they were away living their own lives. Without each other, without Akiteru, and without me.”
That was the first time he said akiteru’s name the whole night.
“They show up every once in a while, to keep up appearances, you know. Never at the same time though. Mainly, they just send a bunch of money, and we fend for ourselves. Do you know how that feels? For your family to fall apart and you don’t even know about it?
“I didn’t even know about it because I was too focused on being ‘cool.’ I was too busy bragging about my ‘Awesome Big Brother’ and calling other people lame, to notice my parents breaking up, and my brother raising me by himself.
“I know he was trying to protect me. I know that he meant well. But did you know he never once apologized?” finally Kei made eye contact with Tadashi, and there was a look there that he had never seen before. He looked almost vulnerable, but his gaze hardened and he looked away before Tadashi could even say anything.
“All of these years. Almost 4 whole years, and Akiteru has never apologized to me. He took care of me. He took me school shopping, he made me dinners, he even tried to give me the talk in middle school. He raised me, better than my own parents, and I love him so much, and I am so grateful for what he does for me.
“But why didn’t he apologize?”
That’s when Tadashi threw himself at Kei. He wrapped his arms around the other boy and buried his face in his neck, tackling him back onto the bed. He felt Kei tense up, and after a moment, he lifted his head to look at Kei's face.
His eyes were wide, and tearful. His chest shook with sobs, but Kei remained silent. He just laid there, for a long time. Crying for the first time in a really, really long time. Finally, he leaned into Tadashi, he leaned into affection he hasn’t received since he was twelve years old. He released the emotions he’s been holding in since he was twelve years old.
In some ways, Kei felt like he was still twelve years old.

karasuno boys spending christmas with you 🎄
;tw// christmas (?), santa ig, extreme fluff, shoplifting, underage drinking, violence, ennoshita, kinoshita and narita exclusion 😞
Tumblr media
(a/n): ik the gif isn’t hq but look how cute it is (○` 3′○). also i’m aware that i wrote a rather western-washed version of Christmas (despite the characters in question not being western) but as someone of an asian ethnicity, imo western traditions surrounding Christmas are a lot more..festive (?) which i hope that isn’t offensive considering that Christmas was popularised by the west. so, in short, sorry the traditions aren’t those that are celebrated in japan (or asia) but i just found it i had a lot more inspiration to write it this way. :) perhaps i’ll make a part 2 with aoba johsai or nekoma celebrating Christmas with japanese traditions
Shōyō Hinata
you spend christmas at his house bc he wants to be with his sister on the day
and any sibling that you live with, he insists that they stay over too
but if you don’t have any younger siblings then y’all just spend the whole day spoiling natsu
hinata absolutely adores how well you get on with his sister, it just makes him so happy seeing his two favourite people having fun together
although, it did make him a bitter when he asked natsu if she likes the doll he bought her and she said,
“Yeah, thank you. But look at the Furby (L/N) got me! It’s pink and so fluffy, feel it! And it talks, it’s eyes move and-” Then she continues to rave on about how amazing your gift was.
honestly, y’all spend the whole day pampering natsu; making sure she has the best christmas possible
y’all made gingerbread cookies with her, helped her built a snowman (or rather, a snowwoman because she insisted that it was a lady), snowangels, opening presents, christmas crackers, watching movies - the whole shabang.
probably the only time in the day were she was sad was at 10PM when hinata insisted that she goes to bed
natsu looked at you to back her up in her argument that she should be allowed to stay up late on christmas but you kinda just stood there like 🧍‍♀️/🧍‍♂️
not wanting to get involved in their family drama (unproblematic liege 😍😩)
eventually though, natsu did go to bed and as soon as she was sound asleep, you and hinata spent the night cuddling while watching more christmas movies as you were both too tired to do anything else
you ended up falling asleep in his arms and it was a christmas miracle that his arm didn’t get pins and needles like it usually did while cuddling for a long period of time
Tobio Kageyama
i’m a firm believer that he doesn’t celebrate christmas
not that he doesn’t like the concept, it’s just doesn’t understand the hype
plus - other than going to nationals - there isn’t much he wants and from what he knows, santa can’t make that happen
but as soon as you come over to his house on christmas day with a tub filled with cookies shaped and decorated like volleyballs, suddenly christmas is his favourite holiday
he invites you inside to eat the cookies with him and you notice that he’s watching a volleyball match on the TV
you giggle at how passionate he is about about the sport and offer to cast a Christmas movie from your phone onto the TV
he says yes since this is probably the 10th time he’s rewatched the same match
you scroll through the list of christmas movies available on Netflix, “Wanna watch Arthur Christmas?”
“No.”
“How about the Grinch?”
“Eh, no.”
“Ooh! What about the Nativity? I love that movie-”
“No thanks.”
So you ended up watching Frozen and Frozen 2 (on a different streaming site) because Kageyama didn’t like any of the Christmas movies available on Netflix
You figured that Frozen kinda counted as a Christmas movie because..there was snow :)
anyway, you already knew Kageyama tolerated Disney Movies so Frozen was your best bet
and as it turns out, he was oddly engaged by the movie which gave you an opening to slip into his arms, stifling an evil snicker the whole time
as we all know, when Kageyama is into something he is into it.
so whenever the climax of the movie comes up (or any part with high suspense) you feel him squeeze you slightly and tense up
AND IT IS THE MOST ADORABLE THING PERIODT 🥺😩
so yeah your christmas with him is not overly Praise The Lord but it very fun and cute since it mostly consists of Disney movies
(also Barbie: A Christmas Carol because it gave you both overwhelming nostalgia since he has a big sister who i now headcanon to be a barbie movie addict ✋)
Kei Tsukishima
the biggest grinch™
mostly bc every year he drops hints to both his mum and brother that he wants new headphones but every year he still gets a snowglobe from his mum and something dinosaur related from his brother
even though his brother is aware that he is ‘too old for that shit’ now
but Akiteru just loves seeing his brother’s pissed off face whenever he opens his gift (which is a similar size to a headphones box) to find something like a Jurassic Park Lego set
anyway, backstory over - in short, Tsukishima very much dislikes Christmas
So when you appear at his door with a gift, he slams the door closed
“Tsukishima!” You roar as that was quite rude - even for Tsukishima - since it was snowing and you were clearly freezing, “Let me in! I’m freezing my tits off out here!”
Eventually, he did let you in and gave you a hot chocolate as an apology but as soon as you tried to hand him the give, he refused to take it
“No.”
“Why not?” You whined, clearly upset that he wouldn’t take the gift you went through so much effort to get your hands on.
“Because I didn’t get you anything.”
You rolled your eyes, “You got me this hot chocolate - now, take it. It’s seriously not much.”
Upon eyeing the wrapped box in your hand, he realised it was about 9x9″ - the same size as the tub you usually deliver food in, meaning that the gift was probably some sweet treats
“Alright.” He sighed, accepting he gift as he figured that he could easily pay you back by making Christmas cookies with you or something
He hummed, delicately unwrapping the gift and his heart skipped a beat as he noticed the present inside was in a black box rather than a clear tub which you normally gave homemade treats in
nevertheless, he persevered in unwrapping the box
when he finally finished, his heart dropped yet he couldn’t help but feel overwhelmed with joy
“Wireless headphones.” He muttered to himself, doing everything in his power to resist the smile tugging on the corner of his lips but it was challenging, to say the least
“Yeah!” You chirped, “Don’t worry about the price though, I got them on a Black Friday sale.” You lied, aware that it was usually considered rude to talk about the price of a gift you’ve given but knowing if you didn’t say anything, Tsukishima would assume you paid full price (which you did smh) and immediately empty his bank account in order to pay you back
You could almost envision the situation already; “Would you like it in cash or cheque?”
“Neither, Kei!”
“You seriously got me branded headphones?” Non-imaginary Tsukishima asked, unable to pry his eyes off the long-awaited gift in his hands
“Y-Yeah.” You stuttered at his unusually sinister voice. “I wanted to buy you noise-cancelling headphones and Google said these were the best ones available that weren’t selling for millions of y--”
“I love you.”
You did a double-take, “Huh?”
“I love you.”
You did a..triple-take.. “I-I don’t think I heard you correctly.”
“I’m not saying it again, dumbass.”
now, tsukishima wasn’t a very affectionate person but considering you paid full price for headphones (yes, he knows. you’re not a very good liar 😐) for him, the least you deserved was forehead kisses
plus, he was determined to make you as happy as you made him that day
so can get all the kisses you want, all the hugs, all the cuddles, all the smiles, all the cookies-  everything!
but that’s not to say that he’s not going to get you anything in return as subtly through the day he was gathering info on what to get you
by the end of it, he had a whole list but unfortunately - after looking at his bank account - he realised that the only thing he could afford was an easy-bake oven (┬┬﹏┬┬)
Tadashi Yamaguchi
y’all spent Christmas at your house because Yamaguchi was absolutely entranced by your massive Christmas tree
he also slept over because you both wanted experience the Christmas morning buzz together
also because your parents were working on Christmas day and Yamaguchi didn’t want you to be alone 🥺
(he didn’t tell you that though as he didn’t want you to think that he felt bad for you or anything)
after you both completed you morning routines, you raced downstairs (quite literally raced; you won.) to open the presents
the milk and cookies you both hand left out for ‘Santa’ was gone because your parents chugged the milk and scarfed the cookies before they left for work
“Open the presents I got you first!” You urged Yamaguchi, pointing to the two presents wrapped in Sanrio wrapping paper
Yamaguchi did so; sitting on the floor cross-legged to open the larger, box-shaped gift first
“Candy!” He chirped with a smile, gently shifting through the selection of sweets you got him, his grin stretching as he did so and once he was finished, it was beaming ear-to-ear. “You know me so well, thank you so much, (L/N).”
You giggled, a light blush crossing your features at the praise - then motioning to the second, smaller, thinner gift.
Yamaguchi accidently tore the wrapping paper off to reveal basic, charcoal face masks.
You quickly interjected to explain, “You said that you were embarrassed about how the animal-themed face masks your mum bought you were too childish and that they just made your skin more oily so bought you those; less embarrassing and supposedly good for oily skin.”
Yamaguchi’s heart fluttered upon hearing how much attention you paid during his random rants, “Thank you, babe!” He enthused, hugging the mask to his chest.
After that, you opened the gift he bought you and were over the moon when you realised that it was a box full of adorable stationary
“I noticed how you kept complaining about your pens running out of ink during class and..yeah..I hope you like it..”
You obviously loved it and expressed that by giving him a big bear hug and many kisses (づ ̄ 3 ̄)づ (*≧︶≦))
By then, it was around Midday so you had time to play in the snow for a bit before Yamaguchi had to go home to spend the rest of Christmas with his family
but of course he came back on Boxing Day to binge watch movies and cuddle with you 🥰
Daichi Sawamura
okay; I am going to say this and you aren’t going to argue with me bc I know that I’m right:
if you have any younger siblings or cousins staying in your house for Christmas (and I mean younger like 5 or less) and the kid isn’t a little shit
daichi (with your assistance) will dress up as Santa and you will dress up as an elf to surprise the child with a visit
daichi would be like ‘ho ho ho!’ and you’d be like ‘shut up, santa, you fatass.’
and the kid would be like ✪ ω ✪
y’all would take pictures and shit before santa dips 🚶‍♂️🛷
after that, you both would head back to his place to celebrate a kid-free christmas
you don’t open gifts because you both mutually agreed not to get anything for each other this year since you had ‘grown out of presents’ (tsk).
but you did get a RingFit Adventure from one for your relatives for Christmas so you and Daichi spend an hour or two playing that
it’s surprisingly taxing though so you’re both puffed afterwards
so you decided to make spaghetti for yourself and Daichi and a Christmas miracle occurred..he got off of his ass to help you cook 🤩
usually he’d hide his fear off fucking up under toxic masculinity but today he actually let you teach him how to make food and he was a natural chef tbh
however, his habit of grabbing your ass or holding your lower back wasn’t especially helpful while he had tomato sauce all over his hands
you changed into a different pair of bottoms as the spaghetti cooled down
then, a second Christmas miracle occurred
Daichi gave you both permission to eat in the living room, on the couch, so y’all could watch a movie or something as you ate
every other day of the year, daichi would have to be killed before he let anybody eat in the living room - forget on his new couch
but today was a special so he let it slide
originally, the plan was to watch a Christmas movie but then you noticed that a new episode of y’alls favourite show was out - House Hunters - so you just watched that instead
hey, it made you both happy so why not?
especially with daichi’s running commentary which you outwardly expressed annoyance to but internally loved
“Andromeda will never be Suzanne, rest easy.”
“That house is so ugly, next.”
“Why’s their budget so low? May as well just buy a caravan.”
“They are so fucking picky.”
“Her face annoys me.”
IT LIKE HIS ALTER-EGO IT’S AMAZING
anyway, merry christmas to the daichi stans and that is from me, not daichi - he actually forgot it was Christmas at noon
Kōshi Sugawara
SUGA IS DOMESTIC LIKE DAICHI BUT MAKE IT ❄ FESTIVE❄
y’all bake christmas cookies together, exchanges small gifts, bake carrot cake, watch The Polar Express, bake pudding, kiss under the mistletoe, bake-- yeah, there was a lot of baking
get ready to work out twice as much and start dieting if you don’t want to develop an illness due to the amount of sugar you consumed
to be honest, Suga was kinda lost for things to do on the actual day of Christmas bc y’all were so hyped preparing for it so he had no idea how to top that
I mean, you both went on romantic, late night car drives to buy a tree
cute couple trips to the store to purchase decorations
planning out and putting the decorations around the house (and with both of your keen eyes for design, the house ends up looking gorgeous ofc)
you ornamented the tree in his living room but it was so tall that he couldn’t reach the very tip to put the final decoration on top
so you hopped onto his shoulders and stuck the star on top with a smile
but he wasn’t done with you yet, he rushed around the house with you on his shoulders while you clung onto his hair as if your life depended on it
he did most of the festivities with you before Christmas but he saved one special one for the day
“(Y/N), let’s bake something.”
You sighed, shooting him a weary smile, “Suga, we’ve been baking all day.”
“Just one last thing! It’s not even baking actually, more like assembling.”
You quirked an eyebrow at his statement, “Hm? What is it?”
“Let’s make our dream houses with gingerbread!”
Of course you agreed. Not just because he is the cutest thing you’ve ever laid your eyes on but also since it sounded rather fun
“What are those?” You pointed to the weird rectangular designs on the roof of his house
“Solar panels.” He hummed, elegantly icing the sides of his house, “I want my future house run on that energy.”
“Anyway, what’ve you got on your house?” Finishing off the final swirl on his door, he turned to look at your gingerbread home and deadpanned
A sheepish grin formed on your lips as you noticed his blank expression towards your ‘dream home’ which has walls garnished with golden, edible glitter and sugar paper sanrio characters on the roof along with many other extremely unconventional things
“Hey,” you shrugged, “Let me have my dreams.”
“Of course,” Suga agreed, his usual sweet smile returning, “Although, in an ideal world, I thought we’d end up living together and starting a family. However, I don’t think we can do that if you planning on putting a horse head on our front door.”
“IT WAS JUST LYING THERE, KŌSHI! IF ANYTHING IT’S YOUR FAULT FOR GIVING ME ACCESS TO A MARZIPAN HORSE!”
“I DIDN’T THINK THAT YOU’D DECAPITATE IT, (Y/N)! I THOUGHT YOU’D USE IT FOR A STABLE OR FARM OR SOMETHING!”
“YOU SHOULD KNOW ME BETTER THAN THAT!”
Asahi Azumane
you both spent christmas day in your respective households, promising each other that you’d spend boxing day together
until around 7PM when you had to come over to his house bc he called you, extremely puzzled at the fact that random mutuals from school (and the whole volleyball team) were on his instagram page, facebook, snapchat and any/every other social media platform wishing him a happy birthday
“I don’t get it.” He spoke through the phone, confusion and anxiety apparent in his voice, “My birthday isn’t for another six days. Why do they think it is today? Is this a joke?”
“Uh, can I come over? I’d love to see you.”
“Um, sure.” He replied, even more confused that you didn’t answer his question and instead asking one yourself
you spent the rest of the day with him, trying your very best to distract him from social media by doing various activities
you both baked, watched movies, played board games (he’s a beast at battleships) then you moved on to other games like charades - basically every bs excuse you could come up with to get him to stay away from his phone
but that’s not to say you didn’t enjoy every second of it bc you did
he is so cute like whenever you are doing an action which he can’t interpret, his automatic guess is ‘are my beautiful gf (Y/N) (L/N) who i love very much? (= ❛ ᴗ ❛=)’
PRECIOUS 💓
and then you are just like, ‘yes, i am, baby. but i am also optimum prime. your turn.’
anyway, by the end of the day there was no way you were able to prevent him from finding out about the joke now
so you just decided to tell him - figuring that it’d be better for him to hear it from you rather than someone else
“See.. y’know how jesus was allegedly born on christmas day? well, the joke is that..you kinda look like what people assume jesus would’ve looked like..”
Asahi had to do a double-take at what you just said, “Th-they..think I look like jesus?”
“yeah.”
Ryūnosuke Tanaka
you’re both broke af so you spend Christmas day pretending you are a rich couple
you slept over at his house too so you could start early in the morning and by that I mean 10:30AM
firstly, you and tanaka flick through an Argos catalogue (which you found on the ground, so there were a few mud stains on it 😶) to select the gift(s) you were going to buy for your ‘children’
but really it was just you and him going through it and circling all the toys y’all wanted as kids but couldn’t afford/didn’t get
“I super badly wanted one of those kiddie monster trucks that you could control with a remote as a child so my son is going to need one of those.” Tanaka said, circling the monster truck with a marker
“Yes, of course. And I asked for Monster High dolls every year as a kid but my parents said they were everything god hates so let’s buy that because we stan satan in this house, apparently .”
“Of course, of course.” He said in his best ‘rich person’ voice which was actually just an english accent
After resenting your parents for around an hour, you both moved onto the next activity of your rich person Christmas which included reading your horoscope in an english accent
that only lasted a few minutes though because both of you couldn’t be bothered to read
you also planned to look at the stock market (just like all rich people do on christmas day, obvs) but it was so boring
you took a glance then just went ‘okay, bye.’
next, you had caviar - just like rich people eat for every meal of the day, i think.
except it was actually black pop rocks
“ah, yes. scrumptious.” “the flavour is immaculate.”
then, as dawn drew close, you and tanaka preformed your final rich person activity
no, it wasn’t being rude to minimum wage workers
no, it wasn’t being ungrateful
no, it wasn’t exploiting the working class under capitalism
no, it wasn’t being generally stuck-up and cocky
instead, it was going to the grocery shop and buying everything rather than shoplifting :)
“what should we get, babe?” you asked tanaka, in awe at how many different brands of toilet paper were on the shelves. “Have you ever noticed how spoiled we are for choice when it comes to toilet paper?”
“uh, no.” he replied in reference to the toilet paper question, “Hm, how about some gingerbread men or something?”
his suggestion was just met by a blank stare and silence
“JUST KIDDING! WE’RE TOTALLY BUYING BOOZE!”
“Hell yeah!”
luckily, because tanaka looked a lot older than 17 and also since the cashier was too tired to check his ID, you both managed to buy the drinks without getting caught
“Merry Christmas, Ryū.” You hummed, fidgeting with his hand which was interlocked with yours as you walked through a rather prestigious neighbourhood and admired all the extravagant christmas lights
“Merry Christmas, (Y/N). Love you.”
Yū Nishinoya
you and noya spent the whole day in his backyard and since it was a white christmas, you were able to spend the 90% playing in the snow
at first, you both went outside with the intention of making snowangels and taking cute couple photos in the snow
but the weather was just so inviting that you had to stay for a little longer even when you did finish taking pictures; so you made the ‘ultimate’ snowman
by that, it was just the biggest snowman y’all could make without it falling apart with stones for eyes, spiking out twigs for hair and an empty Monster Energy can for a nose
once you had completed the snowman and basked in it’s glory for a moment, you went to head inside - but then you felt something hit your back
you turned around to see noya snickering, a mischievous grin on his face which you couldn’t stand
so what started out as him playfully throwing a snowball at your back, eventually turned into a full-on snowball battle to the death
there were snow forts, piles of snow ammunition, mini snow-warriors guarding the edges of your fort, a snow-princess which you were trying to steal from each other’s fort to win (basically like capture the flag but colder..) and a few brunch bars in the middle of the battle field for snack breaks
it was all going smoothly until Noya ran up to your base, obviously with the intention to steal your princess
“stay away from her, you fiend!” You yelled, jumping into an offensive stance - your neighbours must hate you bc of all the noise you and Noya made.
Noya screaming his battle cry as he rushed towards your fort, batista bombing you to the ground before you had a chance to attack him with a snowball
now that you were out of the equation, he scurried over to your princess which was perches on a little snow podium you made for her
he grabbed it, lifting it above his head like a trophy and letting out a loud victory cry “I win!”
he then turned to you and laughed upon noticing that you had your face buried into the snow in shame, “You have been defeated, (L/N)! And the great Rolling Thunder prospers!”
“That’s a stupid nickname.” You groaned, outstretching your arms to allow him to pick you up, “Now take me inside, I’m tired.”
“Alright, babe.” He spoke softly, seemingly coming down from his adrenaline high.
He strolled towards you, scooping you up into his arms - off the snow - and carrying you inside
unbeknownst to him, you had fallen asleep as he held you and once he put you down on the couch and noticed- i- my man almost died of happiness
“Oh my god, (Y/N)! You’re so fucking cute! (❤´艸`❤)” he hollered, peppering your face in kisses
“Shhh..” you hushed Noya, sticking your bottom lip out to form a pout
Noya nodded understandingly before hopping onto the couch beside you and snuggling up

➤  pairing : tsukishima kei x yamaguchi tadashi
➤  warnings : the tiniest amount of angst
➤ tags: college roommates!AU, art student yamaguchi, business student tsukishima, unrequited love
➤  summary : Tsukishima Kei was forced to move in with his best friend and long time crush, Yamaguchi, so he could attend the univesity he wanted in Tokyo. He thought he could surpass his feelings and live his life normally just like in high school but what he didn’t know was that living with the person you’re in love with, makes falling much more easily. Especially if that person is Yamaguchi.

“That should be the last of em’!” Yamaguchi finally announced as he set the seventh cardboard box down in the middle of the barren living room. He stretched his arms out and sighed in relief, turning suddenly with a grin flashed across his cheeks towards his new roommate as a celebration.
Tsukishima grumpily set the box he had in his arms down, proceeding to massage his back with the heel of his palm, “We still haven’t unpacked, Yamaguchi, isn’t it a bit early for a celebration?”. His best friend pouted at the reality check he was just given and collapsed onto the still bubble-wrapped couch out of exhaustion.
Tsukishima Kei and Yamaguchi Tadashi were childhood friends who met in primary school. They then proceeded to go to the same middle schools and high schools together. They practically spent the majority of their lives together. They played in the same volleyball teams, went to school together, walked back home together, and grew up beside each other. Though they cared a lot for each other, surely they would go their separate ways eventually right? Finally having such distinct differences in the majors they wanted to take, everyone in Tsukishima’s and Yamaguchi’s lives thought that university would be the wedge that finally separates the two. Well...everyone except their mothers.
“What do you mean I can’t go to Tokyo?” Tsukishima’s eyes widened at the unexpected answer his mother gave him. He approached his mother with the topic of moving out to Tokyo so he could attend the university he wanted. He addressed the topic as if he was asking for permission but he thought it would just be a formality.
“What? Why not? I managed to get a scholarship that’ll give me an allowance for my living costs so it’ll cost you nothing! Besides, Akiteru moved out for university so why can’t I do the same?” Tsukishima spoke rapidly, his fists were balled up tight but he still attempted his best to keep his composure, not wanting to create even more awkward tension in front of his guests.
“C-calm down, Tsukki.” Yamaguchi stammered, looking as shocked as his own mother at his out of character outburst. The two coincidentally were interested in universities in Tokyo. Though they would be attending different schools, their universities were within walking distance. Yamaguchi was unsure how his mother would react to his only son moving out so Tsukishima came up with the idea to tell their parents together to hopefully soften the blow of Yamaguchi’s mother’s outrage however, reality seems to turn out the opposite to their predictions. Yamaguchi’s mother, who was predicted to freak out instead, was so moved by her only sons decision to be independent that she started crying tears of joy after the two announced their planned departure. On the other hand, Tsukishima’s mother who was supposed to be playing the supporting role and calming down Yamaguchi’s mother turned out to be the one in need to calm down.
“You’re pretty much still a child! I will not approve!” Tsukishima’s mother scowled at her youngest child. “What do you mean?! Akiteru moved out the same exact age as me!” He argued back. The two blondes bickered back and forth in their dining room, leaving their two green-haired guests exchanging glances and clueless on what to do.
“I-If you’re so worried about Kei-kun being alone, Tsukishima-san, why not have the boys move in together? Surely it would be better, no?” Yamaguchi’s mother, being the conflict-avoiding woman she has always been, suggested to her friend in an attempt to cut the tense air in the Tsukishima household. The blonde mother looked at the green-haired mother’s soft expression with a baffled one on her face.
Though, despite the prior opposition, Tsukishima did get to attend the university he wanted with the help of the Yamaguchi family, to which he will always be grateful for, however, he wasn’t sure if the conditions he had to agree to was something to be thankful for.
“Ah! That should be the pizza. I’ll get it!” Yamaguchi’s head shot up from the couch as the doorbell echoed throughout the cluttered apartment. He got up in an instant and twirled towards the door to tend to the delivery man, finally leaving Tsukishima alone with his thoughts for the first time that day. Tsukishima sank onto the floor and buried his face into his knees, his pale hands covering his beet red ears. He was more than thankful that he was able to go to the university he wanted which coincidentally happened to be in the same area with the university his childhood best friend was attending but there was just a slight problem.
He was madly in love with him.
Tsukishima wondered how long it had been. Ten? Five years? He didn’t know exactly when he started liking Yamaguchi but he was sure that he realized his feelings during his first year of high school. It was the time Yamaguchi was brought in as a pinch server in one of their volleyball matches. He attempted the jump float serve he has been working so hard on and succeeded, breaking the gloom atmosphere the Karasuno volleyball club had around on their shoulders. Everyone’s eyes lit up as a point was added to Karasuno’s scoreboard but none of their eyes lit up as bright as Yamaguchi’s. His brown eyes glistened under the gym lights and his lips were pressed to the biggest smile Tsukishima has ever seen. Everyone on the court rushed to pat and praise Yamaguchi but in order to keep his overexcited heart in between his ribs, all Tsukishima could say at that moment was “Give us another one.”
“Tsukki, you okay?” Yamaguchi’s soft voice startled him. “Yeah i’m fine, just got a bit dizzy.” Tsukishima murmured before rising up and taking a seat beside his best friend on the unwrapped couch before shortly taking a slice of pepperoni pizza, hoping his complexion no longer showed the embarrassing and unwanted red hue.
In the midst of their well-deserved lunch, Tsukishima caught his eyes constantly wavering towards Yamaguchi, watching him stuff his freckled cheeks with food, his eyes glimmering with satisfaction. Tsukishima tried his best to get rid of his worries. Besides, they have been friends for so long and pretty much spent every waking hour together and everything has been alright up to then. Surely, it would be fine living under the same roof as him right?
But oh boy, was he wrong.
Shortly, the semester starts for the roommates. Being drowned in responsibility and exhaustion from his new surroundings, Tsukishima was impressed with his brain’s capability to still think about Yamaguchi despite his busy schedule. Even when he was in class, cramming for a test, around his new friends, Yamaguchi still occupied his mind. Though, he didn’t blame his brain for doing so since the blame fell onto someone else’s hands.
“I’m home.” The blond business major sighed as he wiggled his shoes off before stepping onto his shared hallway. “Ah! Tsukki, welcome back!” Yamaguchi’s head popped out, his pristine smile on his face as always. Tsukishima’s head shot down, attempting to hide his flushed cheeks. It has been a couple of months since they moved in together but Tsukishima can’t bring himself to get used to the warm welcome his roommate keeps giving every time he comes back home. Tsukishima being a business major, he constantly has group projects and on a daily basis has to meet up with his teammates to discuss the assignments after class so Yamaguchi was always home first which means his signature “Welcome back!” Was inevitable to the blond.
“I made curry so help yourself.” Yamaguchi hummed, pointing to the kitchen counter before residing back to the living room corner which was reserved just for him. Tsukishima tossed his bags on his bed, walked back to the kitchen to pick up a spoon and dug into the bowl filled with rice, not bothering to heat it up. He viewed as Yamaguchi went over to pick up the messy palette and paintbrush he just set aside to greet his roommate and sat back down on his stool, facing the easel.
Tsukishima examined the half-done canvas from the kitchen whilst spooning his dinner in his mouth. It wasn’t fully finished but Tsukishima could make out what his crush was trying to express. It was a figure of a boy in mid air, his back arched and his hand was on the same level as his head, parallel to the tri-colored ball which was the centerpiece of the canvas. Tsukishima was no art snob but he could assume it was a painting of Yamaguchi himself.
“A new assignment?” Tsukishima started, shuffling behind his friend who had his back hunched towards the easel. “Yeah, the professor told us to create a work that showed our most important memory of our high school life so...I picked volleyball!” He enthusiastically answered though his face never left the canvas. His fingers were wrapped around a dainty detail brush. He shakily brushed it up and down, trying to add detail to the hair of the subject.
The blond studied the painting with deeper interest, impressing himself as he paid more attention to the minor details of the painting with his half eaten curry still in his hands. Tsukishima knew Yamaguchi always liked drawing. His notebooks were always covered with doodles and he remembered Yamaguchi was always drawing whenever Tsukishima dropped by his house to play when they were still young.
“You’re really good.” Tsukishima unconsciously mumbled, his mind still deep in thought with the painting upfront. “You think so? I think I got pretty rusty ever since we entered high school.” Yamaguchi casually replied to his comment to which Tsukishima flinched at. He didn’t realize he was speaking his thoughts out loud.
Tsukishima disagreed with Yamaguchi’s opinion. He always knew Yamaguchi liked art but he never knew he was this talented and passionate about it until the last year of high school when Hinata randomly brought up the topic of university after practice. There Yamaguchi confessed he wanted to take up fine arts after high school. His eyes always shined when he talked about art. Tsukishima admired the passionate part Yamaguchi had. He envied that he had something he liked so much unlike himself, who took up business just because his father suggested it to him. He didn’t even feel a big drive to continue volleyball after highschool so he abandoned the thought of pursuing anything related to it despite having spent half his life playing the sport.
Tsukishima was about to turn and take a shower but a certain figure on the left side of the painting caught his eye. He couldn’t believe he missed it after staring at the painting for more than ten minutes. On the corner of the canvas stood another figure aside from Yamaguchi’s, standing. The figure had his hands together as if it was clapping. The figure was painted in similar colors to the background, it’s blond hair almost seamlessly blending into the warm background but thankfully, the figure had a pair of black glasses on which made it noticeable.
His heart skipped a beat as he realized that his best friend had incorporated him into a painting that supposedly portrayed his most important moment of his high school years. Tsukishima rushed into the shower in a hurry. He shut the door behind him and let himself melt onto the ground, rationalizing his thoughts. He was Yamaguchi’s best friend so naturally, he was a part of his high school years and he was also in the same volleyball team. But so was Hinata and Kageyama, who he had grown close to and they were much more encouraging to him on court so why weren't they there too? He remembered that his painting was only half done and Yamaguchi will surely add them in right?
Days passed and Yamaguchi didn’t add Hinata and Kageyama into the painting. Though, it seems like his deadline was being unreasonable so he rushed to complete it to the best of his ability. Tsukishima didn’t know whether to be comforted or bothered by the possibility of his first assumption so he pushed his complicated feelings away.
“Nice work, Megane-kun! See you in class.” The rooster-haired upperclassmen yelled out after Tsukishima had already begun to walk away from the cafe he just spent three hours in for yet again, another group project. He began to walk home under the navy blue sky with a half empty to-go-cup of coffee. He was exhausted. Every limb on his body ached and his eyes feel strained from working on his laptop for so long. All he wanted to do was go back home and embrace Yamaguchi so his exhaustion could just melt away but he guessed that would be impossible to do so he settled on just looking forward to looking at him. He let his eyes wander off to watch the various shop fronts he passed by, in an attempt to find a bakery or some sort to buy desserts from in the future when he was going through rough days such as this one but his eyes unexpectedly spotted his green-haired roommate he was so looking forward to meeting back home.
Tsukishima rubbed his eyes from under his glasses and examined the bustling crowd his roommate was a part of. It was no mistake, it was Yamaguchi. Tsukishima was about to approach him before the crowd of shoppers dispersed and revealed the person Yamaguchi was walking side by side with. Tsukishima’s eyes widened as he recognized the short blonde girl his crush was walking with. “Y-Yachi?” He said in disbelief under his breath. He watched as the pair of his high school friends laughed and talked together from across the street. Naturally, if he were Kageyama or Hinata, the logical choice after seeing his two close friends out on the streets was to catch up with them and greet them but Tsukishima’s eyes watched as Yamaguchi giggled at the blonde. He was smiling a bit too much and his cheeks were flushed red.
Tsukishima rushed home with gritted teeth. He was upset. But he didn’t know if he had the right to be. What was he so upset about? Yamaguchi hanging out with Yachi? It wasn’t like Tsukishima was dating him, he didn’t belong to Tsukishima. He doesn’t deserve to be jealous. Tsukishima opened the door to the empty apartment. Some part of him hoped that he saw wrong and whoever he saw on the street wasn’t Yamaguchi but alas, the stool Yamaguchi always sat in the corner of the living room was empty and the lights were all off. Tsukishima dropped his bags on the corner of the hallway and staggered over to the couch, collapsing with heavy breaths, exhausted from running back home.
And as Tsukishima dreaded, the front door clicked open after a handful of minutes, shortly followed by a bright “I’m home” from Yamaguchi. Tsukishima watched as Yamaguchi walked into the living room, hung his coat and scarf on the coat hanger and plopped down right beside Tsukishima without a care in the world, oblivious to his mentally deteriorating roommate. “Why were you late?” Tsukishima managed to say, his thoughts still in a jumble. “Oh, I stayed back in the studio to work on my sculpture assignment,” He answered, stretching his arms sideway, “I know you hate the smell of clay so…” So was he about to forget mentioning who he was with? Tsukishima knew Yachi went to the same art university as Yamaguchi but he was sure she belonged to a different major than Yamaguchi. Besides, a graphic design student like her wouldn’t deal with sculptures so why would she be together with him in the sculpting studio that was specialized for fine art students? Tsukishima sighed and accepted reality. It was silly to begin with to have a crush on Yamaguchi anyway.
“Ah, Tsuk-“ Yamaguchi started but got shortly cut by the blond, “I’m taking the shower first.” Tsukishima stood up abruptly, power walking towards their shared bathroom with a lump in his throat. Tsukishima slammed the door behind him, leaving his roommate in utter confusion.
“Never mind I guess.” Yamaguchi mumbled to himself.
Yamaguchi knew Tsukishima wasn’t the warmest person, at least on a surface level. He was always known to be salty and unapproachable to everyone but he knew he never meant it to be malicious or anything so Yamaguchi had grown accustomed to his personality but the following week was something unlike anything he has ever experienced.
Everyday, Tsukishima would come home and go straight to his room. No snarky comments on Yamaguchi’s paintings and no complaining about his day while lounging on the couch, which he claimed to be more comfortable than his own bed. And at meal times, he just sat and ate his food in silence, always a frown present on his face. And at times when it was Yamaguchi’s turn to cook, he didn’t say anything, even though he always had something to say before, whether it was a good job or not. Watching his own best friend act like that didn’t sit right at all with Yamaguchi so he only had one thing to do left.
Spoil the hell out of him.
Attempt number one, museum tickets.
“Tsukki! Look, I got museum tickets! Lets go this weekend.” Yamaguchi brust in Tsukishima’s room. “Where’d you get it?” Tsukishima’s expression is still as cold as ever. “Er, Akaashi-senpai gave them to me!” Yamaguchi lied. He had sacrificed his allowance money from buying new paint brushes to buy the tickets. He knew if he told Tsukishima that he bought it with his own money he risked him calling it dumb, even though he liked museums, or Tsukishima feeling even more down that Yamaguchi had to spend his frugal university student money on the tickets.
“What ever.” He said but went along anyway. Though Yamaguchi was proud of himself of dragging Tsukishima out to the museum at first, Tsukishima’s mood unexpectedly didn’t improve much during the visit. His eyes occasionally lit up when he examined the dinosaur exhibits but they were only momentary and disappeared in a split second everytime Yamaguchi initiated a conversation.
Yamaguchi went home in defeat.
Attempt number two, curing his possible homesickness.
“Tsukki! Look who came to visit!” Yamaguchi’s voice bounced off the walls in excitement as he opened the door one Friday of a three-day weekend. “Pardon the intrusion.” Kageyama and Hinata said as they shook their shoes off prior to entering the apartment. Tsukishima’s head peeked out to the hallway and his eyes widened at the sight of his two friends from high school. Yamaguchi watched as the usual wrinkle in between Tsukishima’s eyebrows disappeared when he recognized his two friends. Yamaguchi knew though Tsukishima doesn’t show it at all, he was very fond of being around Hinata and Kageyama so surely it would improve his mood which he was right about. Tsukishima had, for the first time a week, finally spent time outside his own room aside from mealtimes. The apartment finally filled with laughter and bickering. Colors seemed to be restored when the oddball duo graced their presence and Yamaguchi was about to give himself a pat on his back before the last guest arrived.
Tsukishima, who was in the middle of laughing at Hinata’s story, froze immediately as he saw the former club manager walk into the living room as the rest of the guest cheered at her arrival. Though his behaviour for the latter half of the day seemed normal to the rest of his friends, Yamaguchi knew his attempt had once again failed.
Yamaguchi sighed as he walked home from a five hour studio session. His hands felt grimy and dry from touching clay too much, which didn’t help soothe his mind from thinking about his depressed roommate.
He was about to turn to the street where his apartment was at but the bright lights of a certain shop caught his attention. Yamaguchi cursed at himself for not thinking of this plan ages ago. Without skipping a beat, Yamaguchi crossed the road in glee, excited with the plan he just came up with.
“Tsukki! Look what I got!” Yamaguchi gushed with excitement as soon as he opened the front door, not bothering to do his usual greeting. He kicked his shoes off in millisecond and almost tripped on his way to the kitchen, to where Tsukishima was standing, confused, with a glass of water in his hand. “What?” Yamaguchi took a second to catch his breath, having just run the whole way home from the bakery.
“I got…” Yamaguchi struggled to start, his breath still short, “cake!” Yamaguchi exclaimed with the biggest smile he could make but it was too early to celebrate.
Yamaguchi’s eyes roamed Tsukishima’s face, studying every movement his features made. And after holding his breath a bit too hard for ten seconds, he sighed the hardest he has ever done in relief as he watched Tsukishima’s eyes softened up and the crooks his lips angled up ever so slightly.
“Alright! I’ll go set them on a plate!” Yamaguchi squealed, setting the box of cake on the kitchen counter but before he could even reach the cabinet that stored the plates, his excitement made him trip on his own foot.
“Yamaguchi? Watch ou-“
Yamaguchi closed his eyes tight, expecting to feel a sharp pain in the coming seconds but instead, his head was created by a soft thud instead of the cold kitchen tile. Yamaguchi’s eyes fluttered open to be greeted with a very close up view of a pastel green fabric that seemed like it was part of the hoodie Tsukishima was just wearing. Yamaguchi’s brown eyes trailed up to see Tsukishima’s face wincing, his hand rubbing the back of his back, which was inches from the floor. Yamaguchi’s eyes trailed back down to see his very own hand on Tsukishima’s chest. Embarrassed from just falling and the inappropriate placement of his hand, He hurriedly retracted his hand and body from Tsukishima.
“T-Tsukki! I am so sorry!” Yamaguchi stammered, expecting Tsukishima to be furious but instead, Tsukishima’s face was bright red. Confused and worried, Yamaguchi brought his hand up towards the blond’s forehead, “Tsukki? Do you have a fever?”
Tsukishima slapped Yamaguchi’s hand instinctively, his cheeks only getting redder and redder as seconds went by. “D-Don’t touch me.” He breathed, he could feel his ears burning. Tsukishima watched as Yamaguchi’s face contorted to a mix of emotions. Confusion, pain, and embarrassment. Tsukishima knew he had literally nothing to lose then. He had gotten rid of whatever was left of Yamaguchi’s kindness when he hit his hand away so it was all or nothing.
“S-stop being so nice to me,” He began, his voice cracking, “or I’ll fall in love with you even more.” His voice was weak though he braced for the end of his friendship with his childhood best friend. Yamaguchi’s eyes widened in surprise. Tsukishima wasn’t sure if it were just plain shock or disgust but he felt like it was definite that it was a mix of the two. Tsukishima bit his lip, trying to suppress his tears from falling, and got up. “I know it’s disgusting right? A man falling in love with you, especially because you have a girlfriend but I understand if you don’t want to live with me anymore. I-I’ll grab my things.” He forced himself to say, his voice cracking all over the place. Tsukishima didn’t blame Yamaguchi. It was his fault after all. He should’ve never lived with him and listened to his mother rather than pursuing his selfish wishes to study in Tokyo. It was a natural reaction to be disgusted anyway.
“W-Wait! What are you talking about? It’s not disgusting!” Yamaguchi’s frail voice finally shouted out, just in time before Tsukishima left the kitchen. Tsukishima’s head whipped back to stare at the boy on the ground with wide eyes.
 “What?” He breathed.
Yamaguchi pulled his body up, gripping the kitchen counter hard. “I said...” His voice gradually grew stronger as he staggered closer to the baffled blond. “It's not disgusting!” The usually timid green haired boy yelled before launching himself onto his taller friend, impulsively planting his lips onto the other’s lips.
Yamaguchi’s leap caused Tsukishima and him to fall over once again but Yamaguchi slipped his hand behind Tsukishima’s head right on time before the blond’s head hit the floor. His hand stung upon the forced contact with the floor but at that moment, he felt no pain as his heart was being filled with content.
The kiss wasn’t deep or sensual, rather, it was long and sweet, which perfectly mirrored the relationship the two shared. Though, the more realistic reason why neither of the two have slipped their tongue in was because of the lack of experience both parties had. Though he did not want to, Yamaguchi pulled out from the kiss, gasping for air, to which his partner did the same.
Realizing their mistake, Yamaguchi burst into fits of laughter to which Tsukishima raised an eyebrow at, still out of breath. Yamaguchi rested his forehead on Tsukishima’s chest, “We forgot to breathe huh?” He giggled, his cheeks beet red, just like the boy he was on top of.
That night, the two childhood friends snuggled up under a blanket and talked to their heart's content with plates of cake in their hands. Having isolated himself in his room for extended periods of time, Tsukishima forgot how much he missed talking to Yamaguchi. But not only can he now talk to Yamaguchi, he can do it without fearing falling in love with him since now, he was allowed to. A warm smile crept onto Tsukishima’s face as he watched Yamaguchi take his final bite from the strawberry shortcake slice he bought earlier.
“Wait, so that’s why you thought I was dating Yachi-san? And that’s also why you started avoiding me?” Yamaguchi managed to say without letting a single laugh slip in between his lips, trying not to make Tsukishima more flustered as he is since he wanted to catch up on everything he had been missing from. “Y-Yeah.” The blond pouted, bundling the blanket tighter around his body. Yamaguchi’s eyes widened at the sight. He loved the way every time Tsukishima got flustered he always pouts and lowers his head down slightly. Of course, it only happens once in a blue moon and Yamaguchi has only seen him like that for a whopping total of three times for the whole time they’ve been friends, and he was like that for all three times so he was sure it was a habit of his.
“God! Tsukki, you’re the cutest!” Yamaguchi squealed, throwing his body at the blond’s, causing the two to collapse on Yamaguchi’s bed.
He had to explain what actually happened to Tsukishima, which was he really did coincidentally bump into Yachi on the way home from the studio. He also confessed that he was blushing madly that day with Yachi because he was talking about Tsukishima.
Yamaguchi never knew Tsukkishima was the type to get jealous easily. He found it very much endearing.
“So since when were you in love with me?” Yamaguchi enquired the blond, he took his time teasing his roommate while he was in a vulnerable moment since he knew how rare it was for Tsukishima to be like that.
“Three years maybe? It was around inter-highs.” The blond answered with a pout. “What about you?”
“W-what?”
Yamaguchi’s teasing demeanor vanished immediately. He wiped his smug face off and buried his face into the shared blanket. “Hmm? now someone’s being shy huh?” Yamaguchi hated how fast it took for the roles to reverse.
“Shnczezaeymedu” He soft whispers muffled from the blanket he covered his mouth with.
“Hmm? Come again? I didn’t catch that.” Tsukishima’s voice as condescending as ever, poking the sides of Yamaguchi’s waist with his index finger through the thick blanket.
“S-Since the day I first met you!” Yamaguchi yelled out of embarrassment, his face was so red that his freckles were barely noticeable. Tsukishima’s eyes widened in surprise. He always thought he was the first to catch feelings and he knew how hard it was to keep a crush a secret. How have Yamaguchi kept his feelings hushed down for all these years?
Tsukkishima had a lot of questions and he was sure they could last a lifetime. He had a lot of emotions running through his veins but he was sure a big majority was joy. And he could not contain it for much longer.
Tsukishima shot up and pounced his boyfriend, planting a kiss on his lips and throwing all his composure out the window. He didn’t care how stupid or love struck he looked. He had his everything in his arms and that’s all that matters to him now.
“I love you, Tadashi.” Tsukishima managed to say, trying to not make his voice crack as tears well up in the corners of his eyes.
“I love you too, Kei.”

i love haikyuu!! for many reasons. it’s incredibly endearing, heartfelt, and inspiring. these things are intentional; we, the audience, are meant to get attached to the characters. the writing and story arcs are sincere because there would be no point to them if they weren’t. the series as a whole is about a bunch of kids working hard to achieve goals that seem impossible. it’s wonderful! but the loveliest thing about haikyuu!! is something i don’t think furudate did on purpose; this wonderful, amazing series can unwittingly change the way you think about yourself and the people around you
let’s go back to the first incredible thing about haikyuu; it is an endearing series. the characters are well-rounded and well-written, we understand their motivations and goals, we can relate to their personalities and struggles, etc ect. this is not just true for the protagonist or the protagonist’s allies; every single character in haikyuu!! is realistic, relatable, flawed, and lovable. let’s consider two examples.
hinata, the protagonist of the series, is obviously an easy person to love. he’s kind, passionate, supportive, hard-working, goofy and determined. for example, in the first episode of the anime we see him fail over and over again only to finally reach his goal of attending a tournament after years of trying and what happens? he LOSES. not only that, he does not come close to winning in any way. all of his hard work goes down the drain and he embarrasses himself in front of a gymnasium full of people and what does this kid do? thanks his teammates for their hard-work and their sacrifices before vowing to train and try again once he’s improved. overall, hinata is a protagonist the audience is meant to root for. he’s easy to love because most of his “flaws” come from a well-meaning place and we know he’s going to improve as the story progresses.
now let’s talk about a character who is, objectively, less easy to love: ushijima wakatoshi. in contrast to hinata, ushijima is framed as the series’ “villian” from the moment he is introduced. he is the obstacle standing in the protagonists’s way of victory; if hinata and his team can’t beat shiratorizawa, their hard-work goes down the drain and the audience is left with an unfulfilling end to the story. even if you took all that away and ushijima was just a regular character who could not negatively impact the protagonists’ story arc in any way he is still (objectively) a hard person to like. he’s blunt, he’s quiet, he’s awkward, and he’s intimidating. his personality often leads him to unwittingly hurt others, more specifically other characters who are (objectively) easier to like and who the audience is already rooting for (ex. oikawa tooru). all in all, the fanbase should hate ushijima. but do they? no.
this leads me to my main point and why i think haikyuu!! is the most wonderful thing i’ve ever been apart of. it teaches its audience that everyone matters. the whole series is dedicated to showing why hinata shouyou matters and why readers and viewers should care about his story. but it is also dedicated to showing that ushijima wakatoshi, oikawa tooru, daishou suguru, tendou satori, and terushima yuuji matter. all of these characters are antagonists. they were placed in the story for the explicit purpose of standing in hinata’s way so he has opportunities to grow and learn. they are each unlikable in their own way and could easily be presented to the audience as cut and dry villains. but they’re not! furudate builds complex lives for these characters, for all of his characters. they all have different, complex personalities. they all have unique interests and motivations. they all have specific ways of presenting themselves to the world, relating to others, and handling their own thoughts and emotions. these characters become important to the story not only because they stand against the protagonist but because the audience falls in love with their stories and starts to root for them, too. but it’s not just the antagonists that matter! every side character matters too! fukunaga, lev, kyoutani, futakuchi, aone, koganegawa, bokuto, shirabu, goshiki, the miya bros, etc etc. all of these characters are kinda weird or annoying! they don’t talk, or they talk to much, or they never say the right things, they do the wrong things, stuff like that. but they are all adored and admired by the fanbase.
here’s my final point; haikyuu!! shows its audience that everyone is complex and deserving of love. each and every character in the series matters and is lovable not because they have no faults or are easy to love but because they have faults and require empathy and understanding to love. a lot of the traits i see in myself as negatives are plastered over many of the characters in haikyuu!! i’m awkward and bad in social situations! so is kenma kozume, one of fandom’s favorite characters. sometimes i have a hard time being vulnerable! so is tsukishima kei. sometimes i do or say things that hurt others, just like tsukishima akiteru, the most lovable big brother out there! sometimes i annoy people! so does futakuchi kenji, one of my personal favorite characters. sometimes i have awful hair! so does kuroo testuro (rip). i have regrets! ennoshita chikara has a ton of them too! i am not perfect, just like every single character. and you know what? i love them all.
i love their faults and quirks because they make each character human and relatable. so what does that mean for me? it means that all of my faults and quirks make me human and relatable. it also means that people can and will love me, and anyone else reading this, not in spite of my flaws or wacky traits but because i have them in the first place. and that’s pretty darn cool

Keep in mind:
This blog is primarily NSFW. Do not read or engage with my smut posts if you’re under 18. I will block you immediately. Please don’t spread my stuff on platforms filled with minors either, like wattpad and tiktok.
I put a lot of effort and revision into my posts, so if you send something in, please be patient.
All characters I write are strictly 18+, either through canonical timeskips or au’s.
Also note that I write primarily dom!reader content. I don’t change that up very often.
Tumblr media
What I WILL write:
- All gendered / bodied readers. My default writing pronouns are they/them, but if I switch it up I make sure that’s clear at the beginning. I can and will write AMAB readers though it’s less common. If you want that send in requests!
- BDSM and kink. I consider myself educated in both topics and believe I can handle it well. There are some kinks I will not write, so please check the next category before submitting.
- Multiple people. Honestly there is no maximum. Keep in mind, however, that the more people there are, the longer it’ll take me to write.
- Power dynamics, i.e. age gaps, boss/subordinate, teacher/student, etc. HOWEVER, in these instances I will do it as ethically as possible. I won’t write age gaps with, say, a graduating high school student and a 40 year old man. That’s still icky, even if it’s legal.
- Consensual non-consent. This falls under the kink category, but this is a topic that deserves emphasis. I have an entire post talking about this here. Please give that a read and I am always willing to answer more specific questions :)
Tumblr media
What I WON’T write:
- Dark content, such as genuine non-con, incest, etc. (though i technically have no rules against dark content creators or consumers interacting with me, i don’t want it in my inbox)
- Drastic personality changes. I try to stick as firmly to the canonical characters or my personal interpretation of the characters as I can.
- Anything related to pregnancy or kids. Sorry babies I do not want them and it makes me profoundly uncomfortable. (I will write breeding kinks within reason, but I will not relate them to pregnancy.)
- Omegaverse. You do you, bro, I just have no idea how to write it.
- Kinks that I will not write include:
       ~ DDLG
       ~ Daddy kinks
~ Pet Play (I will use words like “puppy” as terms of endearment, but those are not related to pet play. They’re just nicknames.)
Tumblr media
my favorite characters to write (in no particular order):
aran
tsukishima
ushijima
kita
goshiki
akiteru (specifically w a mommy kink lmao)
aone
Tumblr media
characters I won’t write:
if you request suna i will write for aran instead.
asahi and hoshiumi. i’m so sorry guys they’re like the only characters i’m not attracted to so i would have a hard time writing them.
nishinoya. i love the guy but i don’t think i could write him well.

since most of yamaguchi content seems to be about ships...here are my headcanons that i have for him :)
he’s an only child and lives with his single mom
his mom works a lot so he’s often home alone
getting bullied was really hard for him and he suffers from depression
plants, all over his room and house. him and his mom love plants
he didn’t have any friends before tsukki bc he closed himself off bc of the bullying
had braces for two years and he hates every moment of it
once him and tsukki become friends though he starts to be more open and make friends, tsukki will always be his #1
akiteru adores yamaguchi and asks why he can’t have a little brother like tadashi
tsukki’s family treats him like family
had an emo phase in middle school and never grew out of it, hes alt now
really likes piercings and has his ears pierced and his septum
bisexual king
he’s really good friends with hinata and yachi and the three of them often hang out with eachother
he has a pet snake and a kitten, which makes his mom really nervous
freckles all over his body, like...everywhere
tw// i feel like bc of his depression and all the bullying he used to self harm. he’s been trying his best to stop but sometimes it gets difficult. he’s been doing a lot better now in highschool bc of the team and all his new friends
is good at baking and probably makes tsukki shortcake for his birthday or whenever he’s upset about something
really likes math, and it’s kinda gross
him and the other first years(including yachi) all have a minecraft world together and constantly play
they also hang out a lot outside of school and will have game nights and such
since i imagine him being alt and that doesn’t really match his personality, when the team sees him outside of school/not volleyball related, for the first time they get really confused
“yamaguchi?? sweet, innocent yamaguchi......is emo???”
he has a really good memory and can remember everyone’s birthdays and their favorite food and whatever things they’re into
also loves spoiling tsukki(it’s his way of thanking him for everything he’s done without saying it bc tsukki gets annoyed)
makes him shortcake, if tsukkis spending the weekend with yamaguchi he asks his mom to get dinosaur chicken nuggets from the store, buys him books about space and dinosaurs
he also loves spoiling his other friends but not as much, he’ll offer to buy them food or if they don’t have money on them and see something they like than he’ll buy it for them
probably works at hot topic or a coffee shop by his house, no in between
him and tsukki have a really elaborate handshake from when they were kids and they both still remember it
clings to the closest thing to him when he’s sleeping
loves cuddling with whoever lets him
he’s really proud of his teammates and everything they’ve done, even if he does get a little jealous sometimes.
when he found out he was gonna be captain he almost cried. he also tried telling them that that must have been a mistake
everyone had to remind him that he’s the best choice for captain and he’s gonna do great
captain yams is the best. he’s not mean and doesn’t yell much but when he’s upset with the team is it s c a r y
the first years adore him though, he’s super nice to them and tries his best to make them comfortable
he cried like a baby at graduation, so did hinata and yachi...which eventually led to kageyama crying(“i’m not crying, there’s just something in my eye”) and even tsukki teared up a little bit
he moves into an apartment with tsukki a few years after they graduate (it’s good for the both of them since they’re so comfortable with eachother and love being around one another)
he doesn’t play volleyball anymore but whenever he meets up with his old teammates they’ll play a game for the nostalgia
alright that was kinda long but i just love yamaguchi okay???? he deserves everything and needs to be recognized as more than just tsukkis bestfriend

Karasuno First Years as Third Years Headcanons
Did anyone request these? No. I’m just a.) Thirsty for third year Yamaguchi and b.) Heavily on my bullshit c.) Mad at my discord for inspiring this lol. Hope you enjoy! ~Admin Emma
ps: If you see something you like, feel free to chuck a request at me based on it thanks for enabling me
Hinata
Number 3
Remained a middle blocker
Never broke the 170 cm barrier but that’s ok, his jump height is fucking insane
Never became the team’s ace, and is OK with that, he’s still a super famous player
Enjoys challenging his kouhai, loud, exuberant, largely the same as he was as a first year but a little more mature (not much, though)
Tries to age himself up with his look--tighter t-shirts to accentuate his frame, undercut to tame the floof, two earrings in his left ear (takes them out for practices and games)
Still Kageyama’s partner, uses the mega-quick to command the attention of his kouhai and competitors
Surprisingly popular with the girls at Karasuno, is always swimming in Valentine’s chocolates
Still terrible at school, but has gotten better now that he knows his study style and learning quirks
Kageyama
Number 2
Setter, Vice Captain
Settled at about 183 cm and just… grew out. Has the shoulder-to-waist ratio of a goddamn underwear model
Still one of the best setters in the nation, still doesn’t totally understand how to People™
Member of the Under-19 Team
Surprisingly gentle with his kouhai, taking the younger setters under his wing and expanding their repertoire. Still a terrible teacher, but as long as he has someone there to translate his random onomatopoeia, his point comes across
Same exact haircut, much to literally everyone’s chagrin. Still wears that weird, giant sweatshirt. The only difference are his new glasses, seeing as he low key destroyed his eyesight watching volleyball videos late
Doesn’t get why he gets a confession at least once a week. He tries to be gracious about it, but usually winds up accidentally hurting their feelings (Tsukishima rags on him for it constantly)
Now that the girls in his class know that he’s a big, dumb shmoo with resting bitch face, he has a “fanclub” of his own, not unlike Oikawa, and no, the irony is not lost on him (it’s more a protection squad than a fanclub anyway)
Tsukishima
Number 4
Best blocker in the prefecture, highly feared at Nationals (ugh, we have to try and spike against Karasuno’s Number 4...why this)
Member of the Under-19 Team
Didn’t get much taller (193 cm) but filled out quite a bit, lost all his baby fat, is now legit so beautiful
Mega stylish, and doesn’t let anyone forget it (has been featured on the TokyoFashion IG once or twice) Wears contacts in class now (his s/o mentioned how pretty his eyes are)
Temper softened a lot after his first year when he realized he was frightening the kouhai. He’s still just as savage, but it’s no longer as cutting (and mostly directed to Kageyama and Hinata)
Has been in a steady relationship since the beginning of his second year, and always makes time for it (Hinata teases that his s/o made him go soft, and that usually earns him a week’s worth of insults)
Has acquired a fair number of followers, both at Karasuno and other schools. Akiteru is… very proud
Yamaguchi
Number 1
Captain, switched to Wing Spiker his second year (right side)
Hit a huge growth spurt, evened out around 191 cm and has pretty broad shoulders, but he’s now covered in stretch marks as a result (and yes, he’s self conscious about them, thanks for asking)
Grew his hair out, is now a ponytailed fluff monster, has a secret piercing (he’ll never tell)
Good captain, very soft and kind, but if anyone starts falling behind he has a terrifying temper. Often all he has to do is smile just right and it gets everyone’s asses in gear
Kind of soft, still sort of has to play go-between with the girls at Karasuno and Tsukishima (will he be free from the wing man curse)
Surprisingly doesn’t really date, doesn’t really get confessions despite being considered one of the better boys at Karasuno. Everyone just sort of assumes he has a girlfriend
World’s best senpai, deserves more love

fic: follow through [2/6] [ao3] ship: tsukishima kei/yamaguchi tadashi wordcount: 12.6k tags: post-canon, future fic, different universities, fake/pretend dating, tsukishima-centric, angst with a happy ending, yamaguchi goes to tokyo, tsukishima Copes
part one: what we talk about when we talk about love (beginning)
The first thing Yamaguchi ever said to Kei was thank you.
Kei remembers it. Kids didn't usually approach him first, especially not the way Yamaguchi had come up to him then. Enough rumors had circulated that he was the last person anyone would go to for conversation; the most he'd get were kids he embarrassed looking for a fight.
Back then, he hadn't minded people avoiding him, even if Akiteru and his mother did. He knew the kind of person he was: he liked silence, being alone, and talking to his brother. That people went out of their way to avoid him was a fact that barely registered.
With Yamaguchi, their first conversation only stood out because it wasn't normal, and how quickly Kei understood it was important. Because of how quickly Yamaguchi became someone who mattered.
What Kei had then weren't so serious that they'd be called "walls," just extreme disinterest and a predisposition towards irritation, but they were enough to keep most kids away from him. But for some reason, that didn't go for Yamaguchi.
Yamaguchi, who suddenly started spending every free moment with him, who started following him home. Who fought his way into Kei's life through every mean-spirited comment, to the point where Kei could barely remember what his life was like before him.
Of course Kei wouldn't forget the first time they spoke. The first thing he said to him.
It's all still there: a tiny freckled kid coming up to him, scared out of his bones but somehow mustering the courage to speak. That thank you, his words too fast and so obviously forced that the content of what he was saying barely registered. And after Yamaguchi dropped the topic so quickly, Kei didn't really give it a second thought.
Yachi brought it up, once, what Yamaguchi had been thanking him for then. "It's really cool, the way you guys met." Some attempt to connect with him after Yamaguchi left them alone together. They're closer now.
Kei knew that day in the gym wasn't the first time he met Yamaguchi. But what Yachi told him, the kind of story only someone with a hero complex (or maybe victim complex) would hold on to years later. It was a lot, for something Yamaguchi never mentioned to him.
Yamaguchi knew Kei forgot. Yamaguchi also knew Kei. Maybe that's why he never brought it up again; partly that it'd be embarrassing to remember something the other person didn't remember (especially the way Yamaguchi remembered it), but also that he knew he was thinking about it wrong. That Kei hadn't been trying to save him. That he didn't deserve that thank you at all.
Kei thinks about it, sometimes. It's true that Yamaguchi stopped getting bullied after people saw him sticking with Kei, and that he followed after Kei like someone who didn't have anyone else. It's true that Kei let him.
There was a point in his life when Yamaguchi needed him. Kei's been thinking about that a lot, too.
Still, whatever concrete thing he did for Yamaguchi, it still doesn't make that moment make sense. That "thank you."
A part of him wishes it did, wishes what he did for him years ago meant more than what it did. Wants to pretend that "what he did for him" was some kind of sacrifice, that Yamaguchi deciding to come into his life didn't do just as much for Kei as it did for him. That it didn't do more.
These days, Kei can barely stand the silence. And maybe he could blame Yamaguchi for that, for barreling into his life and redefining his standard for happiness, and maybe he could try to take credit for the things he did before.
But it doesn't matter, not that those are just weak excuses that make it easier for Kei to sleep at night, not that he can't even imagine saying those things to Yamaguchi.
He'll never need to. No matter what he does, no matter what he takes from him, Yamaguchi would never ask him for that.
Yamaguchi would never ask him for anything.
Maybe that's the worst part.

Without a Doubt [fic]
Pairing: Tsukishima Kei/Kuroo Tetsurou
Summary: Only they would get lost on the way to their own wedding.
Rating: T
Tags: fluff, established relationship
Note: I managed to finish one more thing for kurotsuki week! I was just in the mood for pointless fluffy love and honestly that's what kurotsuki deserves so I hope you all enjoy this! Thanks to @emeraldwaves for reading this over! I also wanna thank @kirinokisu for always supporting me and encouraging me to finish wips, I wouldn’t get anything done without her ; ;
AO3
Only they would get lost on the way to their own wedding.
It's not something which surprises Tsukishima truthfully. He's less frustrated by it than he would've thought two hours prior, when they were rushing and bickering and fielding calls from annoying relatives. Normally, when on such a big time crunch, Tsukishima would be antsy, distressed, the anxiety bubbling up through his blood and limbs.
But...not today. Not on the most important day.
Tsukishima watches with a calm patience as Kuroo shuts the car door quickly from about ten feet away, the rain pouring down so heavily the droplets look more like sheets. Maybe they are. After all, it is winter, and Tsukishima smiles fondly at the realization. Perhaps this is the universe's revenge for their unconventional ways. 'Should've planned a June wedding,' it probably screams with thunder and the harsh slap of raindrops.
The weather has no mercy on Kuroo's old high school joggers, or that horrible sweater Tsukishima has told him to throw out for years now. He wouldn't go back and change the date though.
Tsukishima hates the summertime, it's too hot and muggy, his skin hates it and his mind hates it even more. He wants to be happy on his wedding day. In fact, he considers it to be essential. When he'd told Kuroo that all those months ago, the raven had been in complete agreement, that dopey smile on his face...
"Whatever you want stardust."
But Kuroo could be such a fool. Recalling the memory, Tsukishima shakes his head. He probably could've asked him to hike up Mount Everest and he would've, or trekked to hell itself. But doesn't Kuroo know that smile of his, all caring and solely for him, made Tsukishima just as weak?
It’s the one he wears even now, when they're an hour away from the venue, stuck with less than a quarter tank of gas in their rental, and standing under an old church awning to shield themselves. The cracks in the stone let some water in, hitting Tsukishima's head.
It should be miserable for both of them.
So why do you look so happy right now?
Even as Tsukishima thinks it, he can't stop smiling as Kuroo approaches him, soaked magazine failing to cover the top of his head. He knows the answer. It's the same for him.
When Kuroo throws the magazine to the ground with a wet slap, Tsukishima snorts, because shit, it's the wedding catalogue Terushima had poured over, circling all kinds of unnecessary decorations and adornments. It ends up being strangely funny, how the thought of them possibly missing said wedding, with all those fancy arrangements and desserts, doesn't make him stressed in the slightest. Their clothes are drenched, it's cold, and they're probably making Terushima and Bokuto (self-proclaimed wedding planners) have strokes, but...
"We're getting married today," Kuroo all but sighs, adoring, despite his messy bangs and wet shoes. The squish of socks is audible regardless of the rumbling in the sky. Kuroo's biggest pet peeve is wet socks, but he looks like he's on cloud nine, and Tsukishima can't blame him.
Yeah. That.
"We're getting married today."
It's a lot of things at once; a fact, a promise, a disbelieving show of excitement. As if even if the rain never let up, or if the world decides today is the day to flood over completely, taking humanity with it, they would still be getting married.
(On a raft, but oh well.)
Basically, it's a 'don't worry,' so Tsukishima doesn't. He trusts Kuroo too much now to doubt him. He laughs, like a teenager, because he simply can't help it, the giddiness he's feeling. This is so dumb, he thinks, so immature. They should be calling people, trying to get a taxi, something.
Instead they're running a good thirty minutes late, standing under an old stone chapel in the dead of winter, and looking at each other as if they were getting married right then and there, in their pre-wedding frumpy clothes with no rings, no music, no cake.
(Yes, the last thing on the list is important.)
It's amazing.
"Mm, we are," Tsukishima says, meeting Kuroo halfway as he leans in for a kiss, and their lips are so chilled but they don't care. Kuroo shivers--yeah that's right, the human heater shivers, so Tsukishima is the one to pull him closer, shielding him from the elements.
"Not sure if it'll be on time," Tsukishima adds as he pulls away, content with the way Kuroo's hands rest on his lower back. His fiancé winces, and Tsukishima laughs again. "But I think early weddings are overrated anyways."
They'll make midnight weddings popular again. They'll all see.
"On a scale of one to ten, how mad do you think Terushima and Bokuto are?" Kuroo asks, bumping his forehead against Tsukishima's.
Oh. Well that's just a scary train of thought.
However, they have time to run through the thousand possible (and all equally believable) scenarios which comes attached to the question, so Tsukishima only smirks. It must be what Kuroo expects of him, because he looks so close to laughing already.
"Well, assuming the place isn't on fire already--"
"And what a bold assumption that is," Kuroo says, voice solemn. He's right though, which again, scary.
"Bokuto is probably worried sick," Tsukishima continues.
"Ah yes, so pure."
"Akaashi is comforting him, because he surely must've known this was gonna happen since he knows everything."
"A god among men that one..."
Tsukishima hasn't broken his neutral face yet but it's a challenge. He almost slaps Kuroo's hands away due to the commentary, but he can't bear to. "Terushima is freaking out and has to be on his third shot by now, and that's being kind. And he’s possibly insulted the two guests who I secretly don't like but had to invite anyways."
"He's a gem."
"He really is."
"Who's next?" Kuroo asks, and it's a ploy all along. As soon as Tsukishima's jaw opens while he debates on it, Kuroo steals a kiss, deep and toe curling.
Tsukishima hates him (but not really).
"Mm," Tsukishima hums against his lips, and he sees the temptation in Kuroo's eyes to take it further. That's the one thing he won’t allow. Not out in public...in the rain anyways. He breaks the kiss, and continues his 95% accurate inferences. "If Terushima’s not drunk enough, he's cursing our names, and Akiteru is probably taking a video so he can show me later. Our parents are obviously at the bar."
"That's not as bad as I pictured it actually," Kuroo says, nodding in appreciation. Tsukishima only sends him a disbelieving look.
"Tetsu."
"Yes?"
"That's only scenario one of many equally possible misfortunes."
Mock fear, which masquerades so perfectly as genuine only because of the man displaying it, covers Kuroo's face enough to make Tsukishima look away. He's going to crack.
"Wait, is the worst scenario that the place burns down?" Kuroo squints, and he must know, as he knows Tsukishima, the fire isn't remotely close to being the worst potential outcome.
Their parents could get in a bar fight over caterers (since they'd both been so insistent on choosing).
A secret madman could hold the whole ceremony hostage.
Kuroo's exes could show up. (Less dire, he knew, but he hated them). Worse, Tsukishima's exes could show up. Ugh.
Tsukishima won't even scratch out the possibility of a zombie apocalypse, but maybe he's been watching too many reruns.
There's all those and about a million more unexpected worst cases, but what Tsukishima ends up saying is the one he truly cares about, the one which matters most.
Kuroo stares at him after the pause carries on too long, concerned and thoughtful in the usual way, and Tsukishima knows what he says truly is the worst of worst cases.
"The worst outcome is...we don't get married today," he whispers, so small and oddly fearful it makes him stumble. It's childish. He knows missing one date doesn't mean the proposal is revoked, but...he likes this day. Not because it means anything or is significant, but he'd spent so many hours planning it with Kuroo in the late hours of the night, folded over brochures and catalogues, tasting cakes and foods, looking at flowers...
Arguing about whether they should put bow ties on their dogs' collars or not...
This day has become quite a big deal, to say the least. Part of Tsukishima's heart is unfairly sentimental about this random day in this random week in this random winter month.
Part of his heart is irrevocably, unfairly sentimental about anything to do with the man in his arms, and it's almost a curse, how much weight it carries. It's good weight though, weight he wanted and weight which felt light in every way.
So even if he has to walk the fifty miles to the venue, he will, as long as he makes it by midnight.
Surely, Kuroo's going to say something equally if not more cheesy, but instead, Tsukishima watches as his fiancé’s brow furrows in confusion before dissolving into amusement.
It's the same look Kuroo gives him when he's about to fight Tsukishima on whether or not a particular flavor ice cream is good, like Tsukishima is oh so misguided. (Yeah, that's what they fight about.)
It makes Tsukishima glare playfully, but Kuroo's next words honor Tsukishima's initial expectations.
"Wait a minute, you said all these scenarios were likely," Kuroo emphasizes, the soft smile already blooming across his face. "That one's impossible."
God.
The words are so unbelievably sappy, the tone drenched in love like the rain seeping through their clothes, and Tsukishima doesn't say anything. Can't. He's so done for.
Why is every response Kuroo has the exact response he needs?
He'll never truly get it, but he'll never take it for granted.
He leans in, and Kuroo meets him like always, connecting their lips as if they'd never get the opportunity to kiss again. The promise sits between them, solid and stable.
Yeah, you're right. We're getting married today.
He'll repeat it as long as he needs to, until the ring is securely on his finger.
And at that moment, a car honks, and they hear tires roll over the gravel of the parking lot. Their reckoning has arrived.
He's not as prepared as he thought.
Terushima leans out of the passenger window, too far out, because as Tsukishima predicted, he's in no state to exist let alone drive. Akaashi looks so smug beside him. "Save it for after the damn vows you hooligans! You're ruining my wedding!"
Tsukishima squints through the violent rain, not moving quite yet from the safety of the awning. "Hooligans? Big insult from the guy I definitely know didn't tie that tie himself. Did my mom help you?"
Beside him, Kuroo finally loses it, and it's possibly more rewarding than the rescue. Also this is Tsukishima's wedding, thanks very much, and he can be a little late if he so chooses.
Terushima stares at him, mouth open and mind torn between venturing out into the rain to personally fight him or ignoring the comment all together. "....Fuck you Kei, you're lucky you're the groom. Can you guys just please get in the car? The clock is ticking!"
Oh, is it now?
With false disappointment, Tsukishima looks to his fiancé and sighs, and Kuroo rolls his eyes along with him. "I mean, I guess."
Yet despite the sass, they do start walking towards the behemoth of a car, the nervous excitement already building in Tsukishima's heart. No matter what he says, all he can think is finally. His steps are hurried, and not even the rain phases him anymore. Soon he'll be in his tux anyways, surrounded by warmth, and he doesn't mean the heated venue.
Kuroo turns to smile at him, and Tsukishima knows it's a mutual feeling.
As they pile in, Terushima has the nerve to sass them once more, but Tsukishima allows it. After all, that's the job of a wedding planner. Or so he's told, and they've probably given Terushima a fair amount of heart attacks already. "You guys do know you're getting married today, right?"
It's like being scolded by his mother. Or Akiteru. It's a toss-up honestly.
The question makes Tsukishima laugh as they pull out of the driveway and onto the main road, the rain heavy against the windshield. Beside him, he feels a hand intertwine with his own, squeezing tight.
He dreads letting go, but knows it'll never be for long.
Kuroo shrugs beside him, but they lean closer, until there's no space left. "Oh, you have no idea."
