Hello, I was reading your yuu- inque magic post and thinking if you could write more about ars goetia and solomon

Hmmm I haven't written for TWST in a while and im not as into it but i'm not totally out of it and yknow what the heck why not get back into it just a bit even if it's been a while.

So! Yuunique Magic: Ars Goetia! Go check out this post if you don't know what that means but basically it's one of several ideas I've had for Signature Spells for The Prefect of Ramshackle Dorm.

One thing to note is that the way I envision it, all the UMs in the blot manipulation category get stronger as the story progresses and more of the boys go through overblot, all three of the UMs are sort of to make Yuu match with Grim, both of them getting stronger as things progress.

For Ars Goetia this means that Solomon gets more powerful but also more solid. At the earliest stage, just after the phantom in the prologue, Solomon's body is mostly a sort of black smoke, but as more and more overblots get dealt with his appearance gets more defined. After Riddle's the cloak gets detailed and more ornate, after Leona the smoke clears from his head, allowing the skull to be more clearly identified. Etc. Etc.

Personality wise Solomon becomes more confident, in line with Yuu's own increase in confidence as their power continues to be proven. But also getting a weeee bit of the personality associated with the students who overblot. He becomes notably better at multitasking after Jamil, and much more detail oriented after Vil for example.

I haven’t written anything in a while so I decided to do this! It’s the second part of dorm ideas for the Moonlight AU by @jackplushie! My favorite bois’ turn hope y’all like it.

Yuu: Join my emo band phantom thief squad.

Savanaclaw Precinct

Originally just a slow inactive station, Savanaclaw wound up with a lot more work, both at home and abroad, when the Moonlight Thief first burst on stage. With so many early targets being under their jurisdiction, the officers there quickly became the most experienced with the Moonlight Thief specifically. (For as much good as that actually did in stopping any of the thefts.)

Leona is the chief at Savanaclaw. A figure well respected and revered by his fellow officers, if not by himself. Leona's elder brother is a famous figure in international law enforcement, and when it came time for Leona to forge his own path, he decided to stay as far away from Farena as possible. Which unfortunately meant getting stuck in a nowhere city. Leona had no chance of making a name for himself, and mostly spent his days lazing around his office. Until that is, the Moonlight Thief started targeting his precinct. Museums then Villas then Galleries, Leona hadn't had this much work to do since he started. But he was still good at his job, and he quickly managed to always be on top of the Thief's movements. No matter where they struck, Leona was there to meet them. Maybe that's why they so quickly started targeting other cities, and when they did Leona was the first to get called. He finally had what he'd always wanted: recognition. Nothing would solidify that more than catching the Moonlight Thief, permanently for once. It was a shame he got along with them so well.

Ruggie is Leona's second in command, which means he winds up doing a lot of the busy work. Leona wound up hiring him unilaterally upon seeing his potential and they've been stuck together since. Ruggie is... a bit of an oddball when it comes to the Moonlight Thief, he doesn't actually disagree with their actions and usually snickers over the upset rich people they leave in their wake. But his job's his job as he's told them almost everytime they've had a standoff. Ruggie also has the dubious honor of the only person to manage to steal something back. Sure, maybe they got a bit too close and maybe Ruggie wound up getting handcuffed and maybe everytime they meet up Moonlight is either trying to recruit him or staring daggers his way, but the look on their face when Ruggie was halfway to his backup and flashed the necklace at them was priceless.

Jack is a rising star rookie detective at the station, a no nonsense by the books type much to the chagrin of... everyone else. But it's hard for anyone to complain when he gets results, mostly because he's a beast physically. Jack is the only detective other than Ruggie who Leona trusts to lead the defense of a potential theft target. In large part because he's the only other one who's capable of keeping up with the Moonlight Thief, well more than keeping up. He's the only one who can consistently catch up with a fleeing thief. He's had almost as many close calls as Leona, even if Jack drops the ball more... embarassingly. Jack only lies in his reports when he explains why he failed to arrest the thief, because no one believes he got outrun. Usually Jack finds himself getting tricked by some gadget, or worse the thief will make use of his good nature as an opportunity to get away. Not without blowing a kiss back at their 'favorite good boy in blue'. The others might know what it's like to fail to arrest, but those moments are ones Jack is keeping to himself. If only because his tail gets close to spraining whenever he remembers them.

The First Years Playing DnD

Sooo I’ve been on a dnd kick lately (like I’ve seriously been obsessed over it in every way) and I got some ideas about this sooo here’s a thing I wrote with all the first years including Ortho and Grim. Poor Yuu having to dm a 7 player game... but they’re the one who brought all the source books with them on their phone when coming to Twisted Wonderland so they brought this on themselves.

Grim

Originally suggested (read: pestered) that everyone try out this "role-playing thing”, since most of the other first years had at least heard of it. And it sounded fun to get to blow stuff up! Which he does... a lot. He’s your stereotypical, ever memed, Evocation Wizard. He’s never met a problem he couldn’t fireball, and if he does, he clearly hasn’t used enough fire. Also he flavors all his fire as blue... and he plays a tabaxi... and his character is filled with ambition and arrogance to be the world’s greatest mage... Yeah hes the guy who just plays himself. Everyone else is frequently annoyed by his antics, and keeps asking him to just try ONE utility spell they’re practically begging at this point. At least when they do get into combat he’s very effective, honestly he spends more time maximizing his damage output than he does focusing in class...

Ace

Jumped on board because he was pretty bored. REALLY jumped on board when he realized role playing wasn’t “Just talking to people about stuff that isn’t real” He’s still not actually very good at roleplay, but at least he makes up for it by being very enthusiastic about the human rogue he’s playing. Considering he picked the thief subclass... and begins every new npc meeting or room entry by stealing everything that isn’t nailed down (and some of that too. His starting equipment includes a crowbar and by damn he’s going to use it!) Even if he struggles to roleplay he still winds up more helpful to the party than Grim, at least since he stopped stealing from the party. After Epel nearly beat him up... out of character. That was a pretty heated session.

Deuce

Was also relatively interested because he didn’t have much else going on. Unlike Ace though he’s actually REALLY into roleplay. He’s one of the few who gave you an in depth backstory to work with. He’s a proud Oath of Redemption Paladin, a dwarf who left on an adventure in order to make his family proud! Because even in an RPG he can’t help but try to be the best boy he can be. He’s the one making sure Ace’s character doesn’t steal from anyone too important (when he rolls high enough on perception) and keeps the party on track. Of course that doesn’t mean he dislikes the other aspects of the game. It just means when he uses his divine smite every chance he gets, he’ll give an appropriate one liner with it.

Jack

He got roped into it. But he’s begrudgingly glad he did because he thinks it’s great. Jack’s definitely more into this because he gets to spend time with his friends classmates, but just like everything else that doesn’t mean he’s half assing it. He’s gone full in on the fantasy theme like Deuce and plays an elf, and he’s the only one other than Ortho who read ahead of level one to pick his class: A Circle of the Land Druid, the desert version. You’re not sure why he picked it, but the way his tail wags whenever he describes his plant spells making cacti pop out of the ground to impede his enemies might be a hint. You were half expecting him to use his wild shape on the dire wolf... but he said that wouldn’t make sense for a desert druid, so he usually picks either a lion... or hyena... Unless he really feels like going fast. He’s a decent role player, but doesn’t get nearly as into it as Deuce or Ortho.

Epel

He was in from the moment he realized he could make the character however he liked. AND role playing is sort of like acting right? So Vil couldn’t be upset with whatever Epel decided for his character (the fact that Epel was right about this however very much did upset Vil). It shouldn’t be a surprise then that his character is the most masculine, most smashy, most... tall? He’s a Goliath Berserker Barbarian. His roleplay might not be much more complex than the basics, along with some intimidation and Barbarian screaming, but he’s definitely having some of the most fun at the table. It wasn’t exactly surprising when he showed you his backup character... a rune knight fighter. He’d been playing the game for only a few weeks and he already found out how to max out player size.

Ortho

Ah Ortho, a dream and a nightmare all at once... You should have expected how he’d take to roleplay like a fish to water given his love of acting out movies and games alike... you ALSO should have known that Idia Shroud’s brother would make the most min-maxed character known to man, To both ends, he plays a scourge aasimar death cleric. He gave you more details on his character’s incredibly complex backstory than anyone else, complete with an angel civil war and his characters entire life history. Which he does keep in mind when he’s roleplaying to be fair. Of course, he also destroys all encounter balance since his character is so optimized: damage, healing, support, debuffs. He’s got it all. Why a death cleric though when technically any would do? Oh that’s just because he really likes the Lord of the Underworld, he is in Ignihyde after all!

Sebek

Sebek was not originally invited, he inserted himself when he heard Malleus mention that this “Dungeons and Dragons” you had mentioned sounded interesting. So of course he had to try it himself to test it for his lord. He plays a blue dragonborn, who actually has black scales because he begged really hard for the flavor change, who is also a blue draconic bloodline sorcerer for maximum lightning. His character is the heir to an ancient kingdom, who is mostly adventuring purely for his own amusement, and is named... Dralleus... Maconia... No one exactly knews what to say, but Sebek is at least having fun, and honestly he isn’t bad at either mechanics or roleplaying... so everyone just kinds of ignores it.

Heartslabyul: Moonlight

So I suppose I’m doing MORE AU WRITINGSS because I couldn’t stop thinking about this au (yes again by @jackplushie they’re really good at this au thing okay)

I will probably do the rest of the dorms but I’m unsure if these will all be as long as the automation au. (Especially since Heartslabyul is generally shorter because they’ve got 5 people) also this was made before any info on heartslabyul in the au came out so that’s why it’s so different.

Also if this does not resemble the proceedings of an actual law firm please keep in mind that the thing that got me thinking about this was playing the great ace attorney chronicles. So uh. Yeah lawyerly shenanigans inbound.

Heartslabyul and Co Law

A long standing and historic law firm, Heartslabyul was a natural choice to handle the prosecution of the Moonlight Thief. Especially with all the victims, private owners, institutions, and insurers, who were involved. Few firms had the manpower required to handle this particular case.

Riddle is the one in charge of the team handling your case. He’s the one keeping everyone’s feet to the fire at all hours of the day (even when no evidence has come in for a while) and serving as a good example by constantly reviewing every incident to make sure he can remember all of the details. While on the surface Riddle is mostly so focused on the case due to its importance meaning he could make partner at an incredibly young age if he does well… it would be wrong to say he didn’t get obsessed after so long. Staring at pictures of you mid escape, tracking your pattern of targets, trying to understand your MO as though he were in your shoes… it got to him after a while. So now? He’s far more interested in seeing you in person. He’ll see what you’re really what he thinks when you’re in the defendants chair. After all, it’s not like he’ll get the chance any earlier.

Trey is Riddle’s second in command, in charge of keeping everyone on track when Riddle isn’t, as well as making sure no one starves to death on the job. Honestly with how big the team is and how often they wind up staying overnight to work on the case, Trey winds up making coffee and grabbing food more than he looks over evidence. He’s probably the last to actually get seriously invested in you rather than the case itself, it more so happens because he’s curious why his coworkers are so obsessed. Why is Riddle always talking about your motives? Why is Ace always wistful when he’s looking over footage? What the hell is up with Cater and Deuce? He’s in charge of these guys, so it’s his business to try and find out more about what’s going on. (Spoiler Alert he falls into the same pit as them)

Cater is the one ‘in charge’ of keeping everyone’s spirits up. That is to say he just started doing it without waiting for orders from Riddle (something which the latter is equally furious and grateful about). Since he’s the best at talking to others he’s usually the one talking to clients on site, and it was on one such occasion that he met you. He and a rookie coworker were speaking with a curator at your recent target, specifically about why you hadn’t stolen a particularly extravagant necklace, when all the security features in the room abruptly shut off. A moment later you landed from above and swiped the necklace in question before turning around. You… hadn’t actually expected anyone to be there, so you had to improvise. With a wink and a remark of “If I had more time I’d stick around to steal your heart as well, alas I have to split!” You dashed past them, prompting Cater’s junior to chase after you while Cater… bluescreened. If he started looking at your candids in the case files more often he’d just say the meeting made him more invested in the case. Which… isn’t technically wrong?

Ace is one of the few rookies on the case. And as you’d hear from most he has no reason to be, he’s lazy, annoying, rude… what question were they answering again? But besides all that, Ace is valued, even by Riddle, because he’s good at spotting things other people pass over. He’s the only one in the office who’s really capable of pouring over surveillance footage to find the one frame you forgot to scrub. Why’s he so good at noticing your presence? A shared history perhaps? Who’s to say.

Deuce is one of the other rookies, and is significantly better prepared than Ace. Even if he’s not great at… the actual investigating, he’s there whenever someone needs to move a box of a thousand documents, and determined and stubborn enough to read a thousand documents. He’s the coworker who went with Cater to the museum, as well as the one who began chasing after you. A lot… You were honestly impressed when he managed to keep pace when you went out the fire escape, and then he followed you over a half dozen buildings and you started to get worried as he started closing the gap. Just as he was about to grab you by the collar however, you doubled back and he lost his footing plunging over the edge of the roof. For a moment. You grabbed his arm at just the right time for him to balance himself on the roof’s edge. And then you pulled him till he tumbled to the roof’s floor. Giving you your chance to escape. And… a new lovestruck fanboy.
