Well, I haven't managed any words yet today on any of my books in progress, but I did have a successful procraftination at least! Finished off another bracelet for a hopefully upcoming art show if they ever get around to finishing the jurying and let me know I'm in or not again this year and got a start on a third. Still many, many more to make just I have many, many words to write. Lol.

Alas, it is once again that tricky time of year where I must procraftinate my writing because I (may) have an art show to get ready for and have a ton of jewellery to make for it. Not that I don't want the art show, it just makes balancing everything even more difficult. It makes me curious though, what do you procraftinate your writing with? With me, I procraftinate by working on either my jewellery or my digital art.

"Let Sleeping Giants Lie" It was said that giants once roamed these lands, centuries ago, in a time now lost to stories and legends. Most scoff at these tales, dismissing them as the fantasies of an addled mind insisting that: 'the only giants to be seen in Glornarlyn were giants of mud and grass.' No one knows where they came from, these giants in the mud, but for as long as the oldest mind in Glornarlyn could recall, they had always been there. They were everywhere in fact, in the fields, the forests, and even half buried in streams. Wherever one went, they were sure to come across one. Strange figures they were, and not a one of them the same. The truth of the figures long forgotten....... That is until now, because, now, they are waking up. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ One of the first digital paintings I ever did. Painted in 2019 in Corel Painter an inspired by the Lost Gardens of Heligan in Cornwall, England. Still debating whether to expand the 'seed story' I wrote for it into a larger story. What do you think? Should I expand on it?

Managed almost 900 words today on the second book in my fairy tale retelling series! After a couple months of just feeling 'blah' and struggling to concentrate on anything my writing momentum is finally picking back up again. Just passed 11k total word count for this project and curious where it will end up at considering book one was almost 183k words.

The need for sleep has a terrible habit of interrupting my writing 😭 . Words are flowing now and I'm still awake and yet it's late and I really should probably get to bed at some point. What about you? When do you find you do your most writing? For me, the words usually trickle during the day, but come evening they're flowing pretty well and it can be hard to make myself stop and remember to go to bed. (Hence my still being awake at 1:43 am 😂.)

I don't know who needs to hear this today, but don't burn your eyes out with the eclipse! Also, how much totality did you have? it was about 95% here.

Roll call! I will fully admit that that, up until recently, I'd have had to vote either 'no' or the last option. Writing has been pretty hit or miss for me lately and it's driving me insane! Finally starting to make some more progress again though so, hopefully, things will pick up.

Lol. Yup. Some days this is definitely true! I am pleased to announce though that I have actually managed to write something today! I've only added 65 words so far to my (current) primary work-in-progress, but words are words and I'll take what I can get!

I'm so guilty of taking both! Unapologetic pantser here, but I also love me some in depth worldbuilding and complicated, interconnected plots/subplots. Pantsing is definitely an adventure though! It's so much fun being able to be just as surprised as a reader would be by an unexpected plot twist. Might not be the fastest or most organized method of writing, but it's what works for me.

I probably put way too much thought into it but I do enjoy making a more in depth story rather than winging it. I like to actually think about the worldbuilding, make sure things actually connect and make sense. I am a big history nerd and I feel like it's the closest I can get to writing my own history.

Been slowly getting back into writing after feeling 'blah' for the last month-or-so. Nearly have the first bonus story for From the Ashes written! It'll be available to newsletter subscribers and Patreon supporters when the book hits my first Amazon review goal (goals are 10, 25, and 50 reviews and there'll be a bonus short story for each). Hoping by working on a smaller project set within the world I've already established that it'll help me reimmerse into working on book 2.

March's chapter draft for An Inkling of Magic just switched to public on Patreon! The next one will be out sometime in the first week of April. As usual, paid members will have access to the chapter draft first before it also switches to public.

I'm back! Sorry I've been so absent the last few weeks. The mid-winter 'blahs' have been strong lately so I've not managed to get anything much done. Well, apart from getting some more work done on my Evenant art courses and making a bracelet to donate to the upcoming auction for my church's Christian school, and, um, indulging in reading some fanfiction, but now I've really, really got to get my head wrapped back around to writing again. Anyways, for anyone that's following along with the chapter drafts of my WIP urban fantasy, last month's installment recently switched to public! Hope you enjoy it! Oh, and if you're just starting it, here's the link to where you can find all the chapters with a lot less scrolling. Each chapter draft is linked to the chapter before and after it for easier readthrough.

Lol. This is so true on both counts 😂. Not sure I'd have it any other way though, sometimes the best results are when you ditch the plan and just follow where your project leads.

The latest chapter draft of my work-in-progress urban fantasy just switched to public! The next one will be up within the first week of February with paid members getting three weeks early access before that one also goes public. Haven't read the first chapter yet? Here's the link! Each chapter is linked to the one before and after it for easier read-through. I should mention that, once the this story is finished, it will be going into Kindle Unlimited at some point so all chapter drafts will be removed from Patreon prior to its official release.

“I eat fish, Mother! I don’t marry them!”
-- Out of Her Depths (Guilded Kingdoms Book 2)
One of my favorite lines so far from my Little Mermaid retelling 😂. I'm having a lot of fun putting my own twist on this tale.
