Alas, it is once again that tricky time of year where I must procraftinate my writing because I (may) have an art show to get ready for and have a ton of jewellery to make for it. Not that I don't want the art show, it just makes balancing everything even more difficult. It makes me curious though, what do you procraftinate your writing with? With me, I procraftinate by working on either my jewellery or my digital art.

Spent 20 minutes today trying to decipher a poorly written sweater pattern and adjust it for knitting in one piece. I had been avoiding this by not working on the sweater (because if I'm not at the armholes yet I didn't have to worry about it).

It wasn't that bad, once I drew a diagram to put things in perspective.

So now I can knit that project again, which is nice, buy does not get me closer to finishing the lace for my daughter's drawers.

Creation Crater

I have time to write. I have motivation to write. I have plotted out what I want to write. I have STARTED the NEXT CHAPTER. I get four sentences in before I realize I need to name another city because reasons. I then spend several HOURS looking up canon references for locations, documenting every city/town/village/location I have invented for my own canon because they don't exist in the OG canon. (We don't have any cities even LABELED on the map for the Wandering Isle?!) Inventing like 5 news places for future purposes. Laying out an entire timeline of Inej's "Lion Hunts" based in part on said invented locations. AND THEN ALSO, updating the map of the Grishaverse that I have putting overlays on to show all of my invented cities/towns/villages.

Um. I took a break for lunch, and now maybe I can start writing again? WTF, brain.

Sharing because this was ALMOST like a research rabbit hole, but instead was a creation crater that while, including WRITING, wasn't actually, yanno, WRITING. A creation crater is a pothole on the road to your goal, a procraftination, if you will.

Today I decided I needed to make a skirt. I immediately fucked up cutting the fabric and had to start over (which I'm still quite annoyed about but eh it happens) but I rallied and now have 80% of a skirt. My zipper foot seems to have vanished into the void, so I just kinda went 'fuck it' and am sewing the thing on by hand, and then I have to hem the bottom, but tomorrow I will definitely have 100% of a skirt.

Am I doing this to avoid literally everything else I should be doing? ... maybe. What are you, a cop >_>

I should've brought my laptop to work so I could work on things.

Instead I'm crocheting.

Functionality

These mods are not technically in the build but are needed to have mods (syboulette's crossfit and aira's rice cooker specifically) functional.

Vehicles

Technically, the two vehicles used for this build use the the Breeze Motors 2018 Mercedes E-Class Wagon and the 2020 Maserati Quattroporte as their base. I won't link to the download page as its a perma-paywaller and I fundamentally disagree with how Breeze Motors is handling their patreon personally. I will leave it to you to decide if you want their CC and how you acquire it if you choose to do so.

For my personal game, I have edited and stripped down my copies of these two cars and modified them so that they work with Simnation Travel. I have a pinned patreon post that is not paywall locked here explaining that more in depth and include the required files HERE.

I should note that in addition to lacking the door open /close options of the original as those were stripped down, the textures were redone with simlish for a more maxis match look in game.

Mods for this Build

These are not technically required for the build to function but this build was built using overrides for both Sim Realist's SNB Bills mod as well as Simnation Travel vehicles. You shouldn't get any weird errors if you load the build in without those mods but if there's an exception caught by MCC related to that, it's probably just reconciling that the override the lot was built with is not in place in your game. It should only be a one time alert the first time the game loads in if it happens and should not cause any issue other than MCC making a noise at you about it noticing weirdness.

(The SNB provides the High Speed Internet trait to the lot and I think it will just set that trait to empty if its loaded without but I haven't personally confirmed it, hence the note here. ) Additional Note

Well, I haven't managed any words yet today on any of my books in progress, but I did have a successful procraftination at least! Finished off another bracelet for a hopefully upcoming art show if they ever get around to finishing the jurying and let me know I'm in or not again this year and got a start on a third. Still many, many more to make just I have many, many words to write. Lol.

So I figured something out today, which kinda surprised me BECAUSE it surprised me.

I'm super depressed.

Like duh, I've been depressed for ages, and I'm on medication for it and I'm obviously... you know.... depressed?

I've been here for ages and it's like a real thing.

but for some reason I was sitting here just watching Abby procraftinate (like procrastinate but with crafts) and have a wee mental breakdown, and I was like....

Fuck me I'm actually depressed and it's kinda fucking up my life right now.

Like I'm actively fucking up my life right now.

I figured cause I no longer want to, you know, kill myself, I was doing really okay!

And then I kinda just looked around and looked at myself and realized that I'm.... just fucking up with everything ELSE.

Like you don't wanna kill yourself, which is great, but when was the last time to changed your clothes or washed or left the house or even pretended to clean?

Like... I'm just gross and hating myself and being unable to actually do anything because I'm working and it takes SO MUCH energy.

And recently I've been sewing SO much and it just hit me watching Abby. I'm procraftinating. I'm pouring all my leftover energy to make things because I'm so desperate for SOMETHING I can point to like... I'm not ruining my life! Could a depressed person make this? FFS.

And I don't know what to do.

I don't know how not to be like this now. I wasn't like this last year. I wasn't GREAT but....

I really think not having mum has been not great for me. Sure, having her HERE was fucking hard, and absolutely helped with the "I'd like to die now" but...

I had to do things. I had to leave the house, and had to go to the shops, and I had to... I dunno... be the one holding it together to prove she wasn't?

I had to find excuses NOT to be at her beck and call, you know? I can't come over right now, I'm in the bath, I'm cleaning, I'm cooking...

and I don't have that now.

I weirdly miss my mum. And I feel SUPER weird cause I miss her being ANNOYING. I miss her needing me to do things for her, because it made me.... do things for me?

I'm not alone. I know I'm not. I've got Bo and her hubby, who kinda helped me figure out I'm fucking my life over a bit the other day.

He came over a couple of weeks ago to take my rubbish to the tip ( my neck is fucked, I can't currently lift all the trash I generate) and he said the other night when I was video chatting with Bo: "You can't be living like that" and I was like...

One thing I HATED about mum was that she wasn't living, she was just waiting to die and I think it might just be genetic.
