Oven Baked Crispy Fries and Guacamole Recipe: Fries⠀ 4 large baking potatoes⠀ 11/2 tablespoons olive oil⠀ salt & pepper⠀ a sprinkle of paprika⠀ . Instructions⠀ Preheat oven to 400. Wash potatoes leaving skin on (you can peel them if you prefer).⠀ Fill a bowl with cold water. Slice potatoes into 3-4 slices length wise and then into strips.⠀ Let potatoes soak in cold water for at least 30 minutes (this removes starch from the potato resulting in crispier french fries). Remove from water and pat dry.⠀ Toss with oil and seasoning.⠀ Bake for 30 minutes. Turn fries and bake for an additional 10-15 minutes .⠀ ⠀ Guacamole⠀ 3 avocados⠀ 1 firm tomato, finely diced⠀ 1/2 white onion⠀ 1/2 cup chopped cilantro⠀ 2 tbsp fresh lemon or lime juice⠀ Optional salt and pepper to taste.⠀ ⠀ Instructions:⠀ Open the avocados and scoop out the flesh. An easy way is to cut it length-wise around the pit and than using a chefs knife strike the pit and then twist the knife so you can easily remove the pit and scoop out the flesh.⠀ Mash the flesh with a fork, it can still have hard parts, follow your preference.⠀ Stir the other ingredients. 🌈 This post is not intended for everyone. If your goal is not fat loss and you’re not watching your calories 💚 The most common thing I hear is “I’m eating healthy, but I’m not losing weight”. To lose weight you need to be in a calorie deficit- Meaning - consuming/eating less calories and burning more calories than you are consuming. ⁣⁣The truth is many “health” foods are nutrient dense but also very high calorie dense. So eating “healthy” food alone isn’t going to induce fat loss. Being in a total overall calorie deficit is. Again this post isn’t intended to demonise any food as all foods fit in moderation. Portion size is key! A few points I would like to make you aware especially if you’ve been feeling stuck in seeing results. 1️⃣Something that is labeled as a “HEALTH FOOD” is not necessarily great for weight loss. 2️⃣Something that is labelled “LOW FAT” doesn’t mean its calorie free and not full of carbs/sugars. 3️⃣”SUGAR FREE” doesn’t mean calorie free. 4️⃣Lastly something labelled “GLUTEN FREE” doesn’t mean physique friendly. At the end of the day - ANYTHING you consume besides water contains calories. Healthy calories are still calories and consuming too many WILL lead to weight gain. It doesn’t matter where the calories are coming from, they all count. Portion sizes is key to seeing results. miso glazed eggplant⠀⠀ .⠀⠀ .⠀⠀ ingredients:⠀⠀ ⠀⠀ 1 medium eggplant, cap removed and cut directly in half lengthwise⠀⠀ 2 tbsp soy sauce⠀⠀ 1 tsp miso paste⠀⠀ 1 tbsp rice wine vinegar⠀⠀ 1 1/2 tbsp maple syrup ⠀⠀ 1 tsp garlic chili sauce or (1 tsp mustard, 1 tsp hot sauce and 1/2 tsp garlic powder) 🥣⠀⠀ .⠀⠀ instructions:⠀⠀ .⠀⠀ set oven to 375f. fill a medium bowl or dish with salted water and submerge both eggplant pieces under water for about 10 minutes. remove eggplant and score it as desired (i did a cross hatch pattern). whisk together remaining ingredients until smooth. brush the surface of the eggplant with the sauce to fully coat the scored side of the eggplant. take eggplant and place in the oven for 8 minutes. pull eggplant out and baste again with the miso sauce. place back in the oven for another 6-8 minutes, baste and cook again for another 4-5 minutes or until middle of eggplant is soft. remove eggplant from oven, and brush again with remaining sauce. carefully transfer eggplant to a serving plate and enjoy as desired. you can scoop out the inside with a spoon if you are not a fan of eggplant skin⠀.⠀⠀ .⠀⠀⠀ . . #whatsonmyplate #fitnessjourney #fitnessfood #fitfood #fitfoodie #eatyourveggies #eatarainbow #lowcarbs #healthyfats #guthealth #antiinflammatory #lowcarb #ketogenic #healthyfood #londonfitness #fitmencook #nutrition #mealprepmonday #eatwell #fuelyourbody #grainfree #paleo #mealprepdaily #eatrealfood #yummy #goals https://www.instagram.com/p/CDjR5wYh5Ah/?igshid=d51rq5zavz6z
