After Yoosung’s Route

A/N: This starts right after his route ends.

Even though he’d insisted that he was fine and that you shouldn’t worry about his eye, you couldn’t help yourself, just like the rest of the RFA. Jumin wasn't kidding when he told Jaehee to contact the hospital as Yoosung's injury required attention - and the other members also agreed that it might have been too soon for Yoosung to be at an event like their party in the condition he was in.

One of the things that attracted Yoosung the most about you was your caring and supportive personality, so he wasn't surprised at all when you offered to take him to the hospital to check if he was indeed alright. Seven also promptly suggested that he go along, as he was feeling guilty about what had happened.

He would have preferred the others to have taken his word that he was fine, yet Yoosung agreed to go with you. After the events of the last few days, almost losing you and not even being able to go see if you were okay, he would take any opportunity to be with the one he'd been yearning for.

You might have gotten to know each other well on the messenger, but both of you were still eager to learn even more - especially now that you weren't pre-dating anymore. Yoosung could very well spend hours talking about the things he liked, but he was way more delighted to hear you talk about your own hobbies and experiences.

Yoosung was touch-starved when it came to you. He always made sure to be touching you in some way when you were together, whether it was “accidentally” brushing his arm against yours, holding your hands or straight up holding you. It was like an assurance that you were there, right next to him, safe.

You were the one to bring up the “therapy” subject. So much had happened in the short time you had known each other and you felt that Yoosung's mental health should be a priority.

Of course that he knew that things had been hard for him, but he still was a bit hesitant. He had no problem opening up to you or a close friend, but doing it so to a total stranger was different. However, remembering the conversation he had with V about Rika's issues and how she had refused treatment, he decided to give it a try.

He finally started acknowledging his own issues and working on them. Before, Yoosung wasn’t completely aware that he used LOLOL to cope with everything that happened. He knew, to a certain level, that he used the game to distract himself, but he could not see that his addiction was due to a coping mechanism.

Even though it's hurtful, he began exploring his feelings towards Rika's death. Recognizing the great impact his cousin had on him and that he didn't need to forget or walk away from it, but that there were healthier ways to move on with his life even if grief was still present.

Being the open partner he was, Yoosung looked for your support and comfort outside of therapy as he was working through these things. Healing is a hard and long path, so he was grateful that he had someone by his side that was patient enough to listen to him.

He meant what he said at the party, that he wanted to become a better person for you. With therapy, he also started working on the mindset of becoming better for himself as well.

Getting more and more of his motivation back and with the support of you and his friends, Yoosung's attention on his studies increased. That meant he had to learn to balance the time he spent with you with the time he focused on college. The life of a student is not easy.

That in no way meant that he neglected you. Even if he was studying for a big exam that was coming up, he still found time to text and call to make sure you were okay and eating properly.

There was this one time that Yoosung had invited you to his apartment so you could spend some time together and relax after he finished reviewing a few things for his finals. It was supposed to be just a few things, so you'd arrived while he was still studying and tried to keep yourself busy until he was done. Unfortunately, the study took more time than he’d expected and, when he realized, there wasn’t that much time left for you to hang out. Trying to cheer him up, as the man was repeatedly apologizing for making you wait, you suggested that maybe you could stay the night.

Since it was so late...

And you would like to spend time with him...

And, well...

Yoosung felt his face burning as he pulled the blanket over both of you. He was relieved that the light was already off so you couldn't see how red his cheeks were. He might have grown to be more confident in himself overall, but nothing could have prepared him for that. Due to the size of his bed, you were lying very close to each other. Yoosung could feel your warmth from where he was, feel your breath lightly against his face. His eye was still adjusting to the dark, but he could already make out the outline of your head leaning against his pillow. He wondered if you were also looking at him. Yoosung felt his heart skip a beat as one of your hands found its way to his belly, quickly guiding itself to wrap your arm around his waist. As if it were a second nature to him, the man moved his own arms around your body, pulling you closer. Your sigh of contentment as you buried your face in his neck didn't go unnoticed by Yoosung, bringing a soft smile to his face. "Good night, (Y/N)." he placed a kiss on the top of your head. "Thank you for staying."

Yoosung found he slept much better with you around. Even though he had spent most of the previous day studying, he’d woken up feeling refreshed in the morning.

He went on to invite you to his apartment more often in hopes that maybe you'd want to spend the night there again.

Another time you were there, Yoosung discovered how good it was to study while you snuggled him. The first few times that happened, he found it kind of hard to focus on his books with you so close, but he learned to make it work - mostly because he knew you'd stop doing it if you knew it was distracting him.

All in all, he was still going through a learning process, both about relationships and himself.

Zen

Insanely jealous. He's barely able to restrain himself from barking like a dog when he sees you talking to another man

- and he will come up to you mid-conversation and embarrass you in front of this man because Zen wants him to know who you belong to.

Has some mildly sexist views on women

- Speaks for you even if you're right next to him. Will order for you at restaurants without being asked. If someone asks you a question and Zen thinks he knows the answer he'll answer it for you as if you aren't capable of answering for yourself.

- Tends to believe that you're fragile and vulnerable and that he needs to protect you because you're a woman

- Will help you with chores but he believes it's your job to cook

- Doesn't ever let you take control during sex. He thinks that, as the man, he is supposed to be the one on top and in control. He's a pleasure dom but sex is always done his way because he never lets you take the lead.

Canonically homophobic

Lacks self awareness

Yoosung

King of putting things off. Ignores problems in the relationship for as long as he possibly can until one day it all comes to the surface and he bursts into tears

Avoids conflict to the point of concern. He'd rather lie to himself that everything is fine between the two of you than address an issue in your relationship because he doesn't want to start a fight.

Struggles to make time for you. A lot of your dates are hanging out together while he studies in his room or at the library.

Always working. If she's not working under Jumin then she's always working on improving the coffee shop. She doesn't know how to function when she's not working 24/7 and under constant stress

She takes things so personally. She'll never tell you she took something you said personally but you can tell.

Lowkey a grudge holder. If you two get into an argument she'll bring up something you said to hurt her feelings two years ago.

Jumin

Wants to take care of you but "taking care of you" can mean doing things that are very controlling sometimes

- extremely resistant at first to the idea of you having a job or going to college since he can provide for both of you

- hates taking "no" for an answer if he thinks he knows better than you. If you're sick with a cold he'll go against your wishes and call a doctor no matter how many times you insist that you're fine.

- Never learned how to let someone else be in charge of something so he also never lets you take control during sex.

Resistant to change

Makes important decisions without you based on what he thinks you would want

Can come across as very apathetic at times. He thinks he's offering an objective point of view that will help soothe your emotions but instead it can feel like he doesn't care about them because you're being unreasonable.

Has gotten into the habit of lying about the dumbest shit, so it can be difficult to tell whether he's being serious or messing with you

Doesn't help with household chores because he doesn't find them mentally stimulating

Gets really bad depressive episodes. He doesn't want Saeran to see him like that so he bottles everything up until he can't anymore and will take all his emotions out on you sometimes.

Has never had to communicate how he feels before meeting you, so he never learned how. A lot of the time you're relying on your intuition because he doesn't talk to you about it. Part of him still believes nobody cares about how he's feeling.

Incredibly passive. Getting him to voice what he wants is like pulling teeth.

Codependent and in denial about it. Thinks he's just really in love with his wife.

Has a tendency to completely ignore how he's feeling because part of him is desperate to please you.

Tends to think in absolutes. Has a very black and white view on most things

Struggles to believe that he deserves you and that makes him crave validation, but he never wants to voice to you that he needs validation.

Boyfriend Saeyoung HCs

Takes Zen to the nearest shopping mall to buy a perfume bottle for himself. Before you entered his life, a shower was the only source of him smelling good. His new perfume is expensive, not that he cares about the price, but about the thousand ways he has imagined swooning you.

Sae would peck you, wherever he sees you for the first time on a new day. No matter the audience.

Tends to oversleep, but wakes up to the smell of your shower gel hazing around the room. Takes your pillow to himself, blushing while snuggling his nose in the pillow.

Starts keeping extra 707 signature jackets in the closet, after noticing a few missing. He's very proud when he sees you wearing them.

Starts coming to your apartment unannounced, unlocks your phone, car and cupboards with all access. It comes to you as a surprise when he asks for your permission. Not that you mind his company.

Don't be surprised when you find Saeyoung's selfies in your gallery. Subtle ways of showing his love to you.

Doesn't cook a lot, but spends time with you in the kitchen when you're cooking, singing along to the tunes you've put on the stereo.

Lays his head on your thighs, dozing off on you while you're working, just how you doze off on him. He lives for the face massages he gets from you.

Purposely leave putting on any moisturiser, let alone anything else, so that you do that for him while scolding him for not caring for himself. He does care, but he loves seeing you angry and puffed up, having so much adoration for him.

You know I was thinking that in yoosung's good ending, jihyun must have helped him to get dressed up for the party (cuz he was injured and very likely high from the anaesthesia to an extent) and knowing what has went down in the route....its making me feel something.

I made this conclusion cuz jumin and zen were at the party right from the beginning and had no knowledge about the whole ordeal with yoosung until seven informed him. Seven was definitely too traumatised from the whole ordeal and prolly feels too guilty to come close to his bestfriend. He also arrived a little before jihyun and yoosung did

So it leaves us with jihyun and yoosung who arrived at the party together so they likely couldve had a moment with themselves. Maybe jihyun chuckled a little when yoosung called mc telling her to not be scared of him

It warms my heart

You know, that is such a warm thought to consider. If there's anything I love about Yoosung's route most of all, it's the way his relationship with V changes and grows. It's arguably the healthiest we see them (aside from V's route, but it's a bit different there). Knowing V, he'd be a huge worrywart, almost to a fault. It's also sweet to think of Yoosung reassuring him and not letting him blame himself too much.

Of course, Yoosung does not know why V feels as guilty as he does, but still. For a moment, just for a brief moment, I'd like to think that V can let go of his constant burdens and just enjoy a warm moment with a friend. Lord knows he needs that.

I very like the idea of V helping him get to the party, as well as getting him dressed. I just know he'd make a couple of warm-hearted comments about how MC will be very happy to see him, and that he has nothing to worry about. Since Yoosung is a bit nervous about looking unappealing due to his bandages and all. It's a bit embarrassing to him, but, hey, it's all in good faith.
