Say what you will about the witcher season 2 but all the "Yennefer took Jaskier in the divorce", "Geralt and Yennefer are a divorced couple rasing a kid and dating the same man", "geraskefer love triangle with an oblivious Jaskier in the middle" memes and fics were top tier

Okay so since I last shared memes, I watched the entirety of season 2 in 24 hours and I'm a fourth of the way through season 3- I'm more educated now :3

no but for real, for a canon that has SO many interesting and complex and messy and compelling female characters, it's whacky goofy that in fandom, women and femslash are often an afterthought.

We've literally got a whole ass gang of powerful, mildly insane women, a romantic interest who does her own shit and exists beyond the leading male AND a main protagonist who is one of the most compelling young woman coming of age stories I've ever read but the lodge fandom is teeny tiny and very quiet. I would love love to see more Merihart, Rita/Tissaia, Ciri f/f ships, and also of course, twn Fringilla.

I do think in terms of the twn fandom, it's gotten better since s2 to the extent that there's not Yennefer hate every other day in the tag, but that sometimes feels like (i say this as a longterm Yennskier shipper) the Bard fandom decided that she could treat their precious uwu baby idiot better than Geralt instead of idk. Caring about Yennefer as a character in her own right.

You know what........ jaskier ://// can't believe I give a shit about and am fond of that idiot clown boy baby bastard in all iterations especially given how.... largely braindead the overarching bard fandom is. There are good eggs among you, but by golly, what is it about that guy that attracts the most vapid, soul-sucking, uncreative, bizarre, unhinged, aggressive, and baffling takes imaginable.

otp: probably Yennskier (this was hard as I have been exposed to so many good pairings). I just really like how the show and fandom has done this relationship and the power dynamic goes both ways depending on their needs. They just work so well together and it make me so happy.

favorite canon pairing: Phillipa and Djikstra. The way they scheme and work together -- it reminds me a tad of the villains in Rocky and Bullwinkle . Best of friends (with the occasional kinky stuff). [I was really tempted to put Phillipa and Her Redanian Assasin lady, but they got so little time on screen.]

worst pairing ever: Ugh -- is there really a bad pairing? I don't think so. Maybe Yennefer and Eyck? They were funny and I appreciated them, but he was such a tool.

guilty pleasure pairing: Oh I really like Triss and Yennefer because there is a tension there, but also caring.

pairing you want to see more of: Angouleme with anyone. She was my favorite! (Secretly more Codhringer's cat too). I should really read more fic because there is probably plenty I am missing. (shit -- Ciri/Fake Ciri just because of what I read recently still being stuck in my head).

pairing that everyone likes but you are lol no: Do people ship Vilgefortz and Tissaia? I am not judging, but not for me (I'd read it and be open to convincing but at the moment not for me). I am a slow reader and take in mostly recommendations and reblogs.

favorite non-romantic pairing: Rience and Codhringer's cat. There is something there and it is perfect. (On a more serious note probably Assire var Anahid and Merlin -- she definitely love's her cat but I needed to put this somewhere).

Ahhhha, you are correct. The the modern Witchyr AU is not on my active WIP list. I have too many WIPs…For those who missed it, I wrote over here what it would look like if witchers and sorceresses were living in a modern gig economy and had a bullshit app platform and late stage capitalism awfulness. Lots of character details and how witcher signs would get adapted in a modern context, things about Triss and Regis. How I might do Ciri and Emhyr in a mdoern context. I wish I had a Witchyr snippet for you, mayoho, but alas I think everything that I had is already on that post. I didn't work on this mostly because I'd been more interested in working on my yennskier and geraskefer stuff and wrestling my Ciri feelings into a fic.

As for the puppetskier story Coin Operated Boy. I can’t recall if I mentioned this... But at one point when Shani was with Jaskier at the Department of Supernatural Phenomena, I almost went off on a tangent about an item Shani finds on a a shelf. Something that is the equivalent of Big Mouth Billy Bass....which I don't know if this is an American novelty toy that people have heard of.... but it's That Talking/Singing Fishhead. I would've given it some kind of Oxenfurt spin since they're right next to the ocean and all. Be an item that Mortimer confiscated from previous students who used it to troll other students and/or maybe cheat on exams. Maybe it could record messages. I started thinking how maybe Shani would repurpose it as a study tool lol. @sassaffrassa listened to me go nuts over an unimportant detail like that. It did not make into the story because I needed that chapter to end sooner rather than later, ahah.

I would say maybe lilacs & dandelions or poet's wish just because those are the big ones that I still feel emotional about and out of everything, I think my yennskier fics will always be my favorite purely because I wrote them out of Pure Love for a ship that was still a little scrappy rarepair. I haven't written a lot of yennskier lately but I still love them very much

I think tone-wise a lot of my fics tend toward angsty bittersweetness and also have a lot of sensory, setting-based details. I really like writing about nostalgia and sentimental regret and I think am just writing over and over about characters who miss a time or a person they can never go back to. Also horse girl details :/ when in doubt I write horse girl details

Sometimes I want folks to ask me about the inspiration for my grief-heavy fics (God I have written so many) because I would gladly tell them about him. Loss and grief driving a creative process are weird, especially when so so many people in fandoms seem MCD averse or only into fix-its where the dead come back to life. For me, it's cathartic to write about grieving.
