Okay, so mixing ideas together; what if Harry’s Muggle!Aunt!Reader was the Obscurus that Albus brings to Hogwarts but it’s back in the Marauders era?

Like, there’s no way that Lily doesn’t pick up on something being off with her beloved sister. She sees the way her sister has pulled away from others even if it’s a little but Lily notices it, she’s always been very keen when it comes to the Reader and spends every moment during her breaks being close to her. Maybe she even witnessed a burst of magic from her sister or something of the sort. Either way, things aren’t adding up and Lily makes it her mission to figure out what’s up. It’s all she’ll focus on when she gets back to Hogwarts.

When she does find out what it is or has a pretty good idea of what it might be, Lily immediately goes to Dumbledore to ask for advice or full on help and that’s when he gets involved. He’ll go meet with the Reader and talk to them, try to get them to tell him what’s going on. Lily would be adamant about wanting to be there when he does but he thinks it’ll be better if she isn’t in case the Reader may feel ashamed of opening up about it in front of her.

After that, Albus goes to the Ministry and tells them of his plans to bring the Reader to Hogwarts as student even without their letter. He would bring up the fact though that there was a letter sent but never received by the Reader. He probably already has a clue as to how it didn’t get to the Reader in the first place *cough* Petunia *cough*. They are of course apprehensive to allow this but Albus vows to take full and complete responsibility for them no matter what. And after assessing the Reader themselves and seeing that as of right now she’s of no threat to anyone but herself at this point, they allow it but they do intent to keep a close eye on the Reader from then on.

Lily inadvertently gets what she’s always dreamed of and her beloved sister gets to attend Hogwarts with her and she couldn’t be more overjoyed. But Lily will become much more extreme in her overprotectiveness than she already had been. Her sister is an Obscurus after all and a majority of people aren’t going to be very accepting of that, but fortunately Lily knows just the people who will help protect and care for the Reader and accept them wholeheartedly.

Lily, James, Sirius, Remus and whoever else they can get will be the Reader’s own personal protection squad. Like, they would literally walk around the school as bodyguards, surrounding and escorting the Reader from class to class and what not if it wouldn’t draw so much attention. But Lily’s whole thing is that she wants this to be as completely under wraps as possible. She doesn’t want anyone to know about her sister being an Obscurus. Lily wants her beloved sister to have as normal of an experience as she can at Hogwarts and she won’t let anyone mess that up for her or her sister.

The biggest thing though is going to be which house the Reader is sorted into. If Gryffindor, than fantastic! That’s just what Lily had hoped for and it would be so much easier to be there for her sister. If Hufflepuff or Ravenclaw then it wouldn’t be too hard to insert herself or the others into being with the Reader and making sure she’s okay throughout the day, as well as making connections among the respective housemates and getting them to keep an eye on her sister for her. If Slytherin, then oh shit! She could always work with Severus to watch her sister, even if she has to force his hand to do so (not that she’d really have to but she would if need be). But trying to integrate among the Slytherins to keep an eye on and be around her sister is going to be hell. Not to mention her and her sister’s muggle status already puts an automatic target on her sister’s back for the snakes to go after. Particularly, the more dangerous and unpredictable snakes; ie. Bellatrix, Lucius, Rodolphus, Rabastan, Evan Risier, etc.

In the case that Muggle!Aunt!Reader does end up in Slytherin, Sirius would also get Regulus to keep an eye on the Reader for him, Lily and the others. It’s good to say that this would be a good way for Lucius and Narcissa to begin their obsession with the Reader, having no clue that all this time their darling was an Obscurus. Also, gives Bellatrix a good excuse of being involved with the Reader too.

Not to mention, (going off an ask I haven’t answered quite yet) if Bellatrix were to pick up on the dark magic that was flowing within the Reader due to the Obscurial, she would be all over her. Not physically, but she’s always right there near where the Reader is and that has pretty much everyone who’s looking out for the Reader on edge.

This overall scenario of Obscurus!Muggle!Aunt!Reader also allows the Reader to become a teacher at Hogwarts later on and be there with Harry during his school years. This scenario is pretty much a win-win for all the obsessive parties involved. Excluding Petunia.

Also, I totally stand by the idea of Teacher!Obscurus!Muggle!Aunt!Reader helping prove Sirius’ innocence in Harry’s third year, that is if he still ends up going after Pettigrew after James and Lily’s deaths. Like, the Reader would obviously end up in the shrieking shack when shit goes down and before Pettigrew can do anything she hits him with a freezing charm so they’re all able to bring him to the castle, alive and very much in person for all the authoritative parties to see. Not to mention, she’d also remind Remus to take his potion preventing him from wolfing out in that moment.

Them becoming obsessed with the same darling would be a rather complicated situation.

First and foremost, their past issues had already caused a huge rift between Sirius and Regulus. It's reasonable considering how toxic their home life/parents are, as well as how often they were pitted against each other.

Growing up, Regulus was considered the "easy child" or the golden child, while Sirius was the "problem child" and the black sheep. Their problems with each other run deep, which would lead to a lot of issues if they fall for the same person.

Sirius is very stubborn. Once he's made his decision, he's locked in and won't budge unless there's some serious intervention from you or his friends.

Once he's obsessed with you, there's no way he's giving up on you, even less so when his brother is vying for the same person. His pride would be a huge hurdle.

As for Regulus himself, I think he would also not want to share with his brother quite adamantly. He can be just as stubborn and prideful as Sirius, even more so when it comes to his darling.

Not to mention if Regulus ever tells his parents about you, they would no doubt fuel this rivalry and back him up rather than Sirius, which would only solidify their dislike for each other.

The only reason I could see them settling their disagreements with each other is because of you.

In one way, if you were in danger, both would try to work together to make sure you were safe. Of course, they would argue a whole lot, but depending on the severity of the situation, they would end up putting their differences aside and coming out better for it.

In another, if you were to directly ask them to stop competing and share you, both would try to take your opinion into consideration.

Regulus is more easily swayed, but if you have a lot of good points on why they should work together, as well as promise to date them willingly, both he and Sirius would eventually agree.

They still would argue a lot, though. They have a bunch of unresolved trauma and crappy parents that really work against them. With some help, they still could work together.

Characters: Narcissa, Andromeda, Bellatrix, Cygnus, Druella, Walburga, Orion, Sirius, and Regulus

It was Narcissa who latched onto you first. A fellow first year Slytherin who was a pureblood, but not familiar to the British Wizarding World before this, for whatever reason.

As a Black, her word was law for any Slytherins her year of the years under. At the start of first year, that wasn't many people except for their peers. Though, that was enough power to be able to make everyone else avoid you, so you would be running to her for everything.

Narcissa hated sharing with others she deemed as unworthy. And even other Sacred 28 purebloods were not worth your attention like she was.

Her sisters however, they were fine. They were allowed to be in your presence. They were worthy.

And that's where her mistake was made. Because Andromeda and Bellatrix both became as attached as she was with you.

She only went to them because they had more status then she did. Andromeda was smart, beloved with professors and students alike. And Bellatrix was feared.

But she didn't think that they'd be attached like she is.

Andromeda thought you were so kind and out of your element, wanting to teach you the joys of power and the good parts of being here with them.

Bellatrix found you fascinating, wanting to put you through the ringer in order to help mold you into a strong member of the House of Black.

Because sweet you were going to be a member no matter what. No matter what deal with the devil (their parents) they had to make, they'd get you as a sibling.

It doesn't matter that your parents aren't here. They never really cared did they? Not like Cygnus and Druella do? Not like Walburga and Orion will.

Orion finds you of interest first. He holds a conversation with you, silently judging you to see what you're worth. And you've been taught well. Moldable, but he'd love to mold you into the perfect pureblood. He doesn't see you like he sees the others. It's potential he's glad to exploit.

Walburga isn't as impressed, but she likes seeing you squirm. The way you try so hard, but shy away from compliments is delicious. You're just like the girls she would lead during her school days. Though, she doesn't want to break you completely. You're like a piece of clay, able to become a prized piece of art.

He holds no claim to you yet, but something snaps into place in his mind. The once in sync brothers become at odds, each wanting your attention.

By the end of the break, your life is being planned out. Married to Sirius, becoming a Black yourself. Holding no power except to indulge your in-laws with your time. After all, they're making you into the best you can be. After all, they'll be your family now. After all, they'll be all you have left, once they get rid of the family you belong to now.

Once Regulus and Sirius showed interest in you, there were two options: you were either the luckiest person in the world or the unluckiest. Both were valid, because these two wizards will not give up their darling for anyone.

There's really no way to know which one became obsessed with you first and it doesn't really matter. Regulus won't give up for anything and Sirius is quite committed to getting you all to himself.

The two brothers were never really close, mainly due to the fact that Sirius hated his parents and Regulus followed them blindly and this irritated him deeply. There was nothing that connected them other than the fact that they belonged to the same family and that didn't matter to either of them. Sirius, even if he denies it, wanted to be closer to his younger brother, but when he became interested in you, it changed everything.

Regulus was indifferent towards his brother, he didn't bother him but he didn't please him either, he simply didn't care about him. He aspired to become a Death Eater and there was nothing and no one that would make him give up on his goals.

They lived their separate lives at Hogwarts and that always worked, until you got into the story. Sirius immediately took a liking to you when he met you, regardless of your house, he wanted to be a friend to you and perhaps more than that. He constantly followed you through the halls of Hogwarts and introduced you to his friends and was ecstatic when you all got along. From then on, Sirius' desire for you became more apparent and he became a little possessive of others who came close to you.

Regulus knew he had fallen in love with you the moment he met you. He just didn't know why, but you made him feel something he had never felt before and he craved it. He longed for you. Regulus began to spend more time by your side, inserting himself into your routine, your classes and even your free time, becoming a stalker. He learned everything you liked so he could attract you. Regulus wanted you to trust him blindly and let yourself be guided by him. He would eventually become possessive and very suffocating.

Once they discovered each other's interest in you, things got complicated, especially for you. They didn't want to share you, but they weren't willing to let go of their obsession either. Very reluctantly, Sirius proposed a deal to share you with his brother, even though he didn't want to, he still had your best interests at heart and wanted the best for you. Regulus hesitated, his possessiveness screamed but he eventually ended up accepting his brother's deal, because then he realized that it would be easier for you to love him completely, once you realized Sirius's flaws.

The touches were affectionate and never aggressive. You were the one who had all the control in their relationship and they seemed satisfied with that. The first kiss was shy and a little awkward, you felt strange kissing one brother with the other watching you and waiting to be kissed, but it was a good experience. When your lips touched Sirius's, it was like butterflies exploded in your stomach and all you saw was him. Kissing Regulus had been more possessive and demanding, but nothing that got out of control, his lips were soft and gentle against yours and his arms wrapped around your waist.

Contrary to what everyone thought, the relationship worked very well for some time. They loved you and worshiped the ground you walked on, always taking care of you and spoiling you and their fights were never around you. They were very protective and when any potential threat threatened to get to you, they would deal quickly and definitively.

They wanted you to be comfortable with everything and that included everything from everyday things like drinking coffee to the most intimate activities. Sirius loved watching you, his eyes shining while you did something, while Regulus preferred to participate and loved having you in his arms. Sirius loved kissing your neck and touching the most sensitive places on your body, teasing you. Regulus was more active and liked to be on top and have control, his kisses were possessive and his touches more assertive than provocative.

As more time passed, the more possessive they became and their jealousy was directed at each other like other people. Sirius loved his friends and he knew they loved you, so he always felt embarrassed when he got jealous of them, but he couldn't help being so insecure and afraid of being abandoned by you. You constantly need to remind him that you loved him.

Regulus is the most possessive and his eyes were sharp for anyone who got too close to you and he was ready to commit murder if no one stopped him. Although calm, he still has an icy fury within him and that is dangerous. He's especially jealous of his brother, but he hates it when anyone else comes close to you, to what belongs to him.

They worked well together and the relationship brought them together, although jealousy was still present. There wasn't a day that went by that you didn't know you were loved, the hugs, the kisses, the touching and the gifts were a constant reminder of their love and devotion to you.

Anyone who tries to do you any harm will be eliminated without remorse. They would ally and destroy the bastard who dared to hurt you, you were theirs not only to love but to protect and they would do it with pride and without any regret.

Your relationship was put to the test when Regulus joined the Death Eaters and your heart was shattered, not only because your beloved had allied with them but because Sirius seemed devastated by his brother's choice. You knew they still cared about each other despite Regulus' choices, but they wouldn't admit it and with that choice made, the competitiveness became insane.

There was no longer a deal to be made and you needed to choose between one of the brothers. They would no longer share and the situation had become unbearable to deal with. But you loved them and couldn't choose between one or the other. Any affection they had for each other became empty and ignored and when they begged you to choose one, you cried. You would have to choose and there was no guarantee that they would respect your choice in the end.

okay but instead of muggle!aunt!reader that’s Lily’s little sister imagine wizard!uncle!reader that’s Jame’s little brother. him being the first to arrive at Godric’s Hollow but quickly Sirius Black arrives too. both are devastated until they see Peter but no words need to be spoken as the boys share a look and immediately attack the fucking rat. of course there isn’t a wizard in England that believes the reader would be capable of killing his big brother so Sirius is let off the hook as the blame of rightfully placed on Peter as it should have been in the first place. when the reader discovers Dumbledore intends to give Harry to the Dursley family, the reader pretty much goes “no” and basically steals him until McGonagall tells Dumbledore to let them be. so baby Harry could be raised in a flat in Diagon Ally or maybe a cottage in Hogsmead or even Lily’s childhood home on Spinner’s End as it seems like the one place they probably wouldn’t find either Potter boys.

maybe he’s born the same year as Regulus and the two become friends? maybe he’s a spy for the order that informs Sirius that Regulus isn’t so bad?? maybe he’s able to prevent Regulus from drowning after drinking the potion??? just imagine all of Sirius’ jokes about them being the ‘second generation’ of the Black/Potter duo.

Yesss!!!! I’ve often thought about doing something like a Wizard!Uncle!Reader with Harry. I mean we have Muggle!Aunt!Reader on Lily’s side, why not have a Wizard!Uncle!Reader on James’ side? It would be amazing! Especially for Harry.

I could see Wizard!Uncle!Reader never having really liked Peter Pettigrew. He just never really trusted the guy and certainly didn’t think that he belonged in his brother’s group of friends but James just went along with it so the Reader bit his tongue and went along with it too. But he would continue to keep his guard up when it came to Peter. Not that the Reader thought Peter was smart or cunning, just scummy and cowardice in his opinion.

I could see Sirius and Remus being pretty protective of James younger brother, more likely after James’ death especially if the Reader looked so much like him. I mean James was probably already pretty protective of his brother too but he also knew his brother could handle himself and would only involve himself behind the scenes or when he really needed too. Merlin help if Severus tried anything with the Reader, James wouldn’t hold back from kicking his ass. (Oh my glob, magine Severus having a crush on the Reader?!?!)

I wholeheartedly adore the idea of the Reader and Regulus being best friends. Like, I just imagine one of the times Sirius went to hangout at the Potter’s he dragged Regulus with him since he knew the Reader was the same age and basically forced a play date between the two. I wouldn’t put it past James and Sirius plotting to get their brothers to become the best of friends just like the two of them so that they could keep this Potter/Black tradition going, even if they had to force it on their brothers until they fell into it themselves. I also think it would fit so perfectly if the Reader ended up in Slytherin, not only to further the friendship between Regulus and him, but also to give Severus a heart attack every time he’s in the common room or in the boy’s dormitory given that the Reader most likely resembles James quite a bit.

I definitely see Regulus coming to the Reader about his plans to thwart the Dark Lord’s endeavors and him being all for sacrificing himself only for the Reader to be like “Nah, we’re not doing that.” The Reader is all for thwarting Voldemort but is adamant about putting more thought into it so that Regulus doesn’t have to lose his life over it. Of course he wouldn’t want to lose his best friend so he’ll do everything to make sure he comes out of it unscathed, or as unscathed as either of them can get.

When Harry’s born, the Reader would be such a devoted and doting uncle. He had Sirius definitely have scheduled babysitting days only for both of them to still pop up to take up baby Harry’s time and attention when it’s the other’s allotted time to spend with the baby. And whenever the Reader comes around he always drags Regulus with him. It wouldn’t be too much of a stretch to imagine the Reader persuading Regulus to move in with him after graduating Hogwarts hence why they’re always together. (Maybe they’re just really good bros or maybe they’re lovers, who knows? Why not be both?🤷🏻‍♀️)

When everything goes down, I could see James and Lily instead making the Reader their trusted secret keeper. He would keep their location under lock and key which would more then not lead to his brother and Lily’s lives being spared, along with Harry’s. If they still went with Peter as their secret keeper or he somehow knew where they were going to be and still went to Voldemort about, the Reader would be hunting down his ass. He would at the very least be able to save Sirius from being put away but he wouldn’t rest until he killed Peter Pettigrew himself or saw him dead with his own eyes.

Even if Lily and James were to still meet their demise, the Reader, Sirius, Remus and Regulus would definitely be taking in Harry and raising him how James and Lily would have wanted. The Reader and Sirius would be the main ones to fight to keep Harry with them and to keep him from going with the Dursley’s. They may be likely to allow for Harry to interact with the Dursley’s on occasion if Dumbledore is so adamant about Harry being involved with them (mainly Petunia) due to Lily’s sacrifice and trying to keep that protection over Harry alive and active. But the Reader and Sirius won’t allow the Dursley’s to be Harry’s sole legal guardians, a family he’s force to be stuck with.

I like to imagine that Sirius, Regulus, the Reader and Remus all reside at 12 Grimmauld Place. Best to make use out of it while they have it really., not to mention it would give Harry more space to grow and run around in. It’s also definitely a coping thing for them all to be living with each other, especially for Sirius and Remus to be so close to what it feels like to have their best friend alive and well again, by their side like old times. Although the place would definitely go through a complete decorative and atmospheric change to make it more of a warm and welcoming home for all of them, especially if Harry’s going to be raised there. Walburga’s portrait just gets booted into a room no one ever goes into except Kreacher. The Reader comes up with an idea of him, Sirius, Regulus and Remus making up their own new family tapestry to put up instead of the old Black one. They of course add Lily and James to it along with Harry, as well as the good and worthy family members from all of their respective sides.

Harry would grow up happy, healthy and so very loved. He’ll never be told anything but the truth regarding his parents, never left in the dark about anything retaining to him or his family and the events that took place. He’d be allowed to know whatever he wanted about magic and more. And of course quidditch! Not to mention all the birthday parties he would have and the friends he would be able to invite over, especially from Hogwarts. Harry would be free to do as he pleased really, not having to be kept secret or act as if he didn’t exist at all.

When he finally does get his Hogwarts letter he and all his uncles are over the moon. They all would take him to Diagon Alley for his things and some other bits and bobs, they may even invite Hagrid along too just so he can be a part of it given how attached he grew to baby Harry. Overall it’s a wonderful experience that the Reader, Sirius and Remus wish that James and Lily could have been a part of too but are more than happy that they got to be by Harry’s side instead of him having to be on his own.

Also, as much as Sirius likes to gloat that he’s Harry’s favorite, it is very much the Reader who Harry is attached to the most. Not that anyone can blame him given that the Reader looks and acts very similar to James. Harry himself may also feel closer to the Reader because he does resemble his late father so much that Harry correlates himself and the Reader as being father and son rather than uncle and nephew.
