♡ Masochistic Whumpee: Laughs in Whumper’s face just to see how they’ll punish them, not at all what Whumper bargained for, low key scary, likes the taste of tears when they drip onto their cracked lips

♡ Experiment Whumpee: Needles, questionable glowing green substances, shaking so hard they think they’ll pass out, strapped to a table under fluorescent lights, headaches, hospital gown with nothing under it, body modifications

♡ Defiant Whumpee: Screaming and crying and kicking, bloodied knuckles, cracked elbows, face pressed into a stone floor by a dirty boot, “god, do you ever shut the fuck up?,” “stick your tongue out at me one more time and I’m cutting it out”

today’s whump prompt that is also one of my personal favorites:

whumpee had been tortured and held captive as a slave (or a lab rat, the choice is yours) so for long, the only time they weren’t being tortured was when whumper was done with them for the day and put them back inside their cage.

thus whumpee’s damaged-from-the-abuse brain associated a cage as the only place where they were safe.

fast forward to when they were finally rescued by caretaker, whumpee’s trauma was so severed that they didn’t remember caretaker (if they knew each other before) and therefore they fully believed caretaker and all the doctors and the nurses, who genuinely were helping them, were going to hurt them like whumper did.

whumpee was having a panic attack even if they were resting on their hospital bed.

because the hospital bed wasn’t a cage. and whumpee only felt safe when they were in a cage.

this led to caretaker and the doctors having no other choice but to put whumpee inside a cage, while treating them, in which whumpee could at least feel safe enough to sleep and not have a panic attack that risk jeopardizing their own life in the process.

*sure, caretaker could put an air mattress, a blanket and a pillow inside the cage to make whumpee as comfortable as possible, but seeing whumpee in a cage wasn’t going to get any easier for caretaker anytime soon.

Caretaker was getting quite inquisitive about whumpee and whumpers relationship after they started catching onto whumpees mutual fear to practically anything within five feet of them.

Caretaker went to grab something on the shelf above whumpees head as whumpee flinched and winced at the movement.

"whumpee, are you okay? Why did you jerk like that? does something hurt..?"

"no, I'm fine. I'm sorry." whumpee said in a small voice. "Just nerves."

"you say that a lot."

"..say what a lot?"

What does “whumperflies” actually mean and how does it feel when one has “whumperflies”?

I think I’m speaking mostly for myself here (maybe people experience whumperflies differently), but for me, whumperflies is the feeling you get when you’re watching or reading a whump media (tap here for the definition of whump in general) and there’s a scene where the character’s hurting, but not just a normal type of hurting; rather the one that, for whatever reason, makes you go “holy shit” but in a good way.

for me — and I don’t know if anybody else experiences this too — when I get “whumperflies” I get these feelings like the adrenaline rush you get when you’re on a rollercoaster and the ride is going down, and you get these feelings in your chest — like something physically tugs at your heart, but in a good way — that last about 2-3 seconds, and then it leaves you with this sense of euphoria. that’s whumperflies for me.

Solitary confinement is fun and cool when Whumpee has absolutely no access to the outside world but consider this: Whumpee can see everyone else going about their lives and is still completely alone.

Maybe they’re in a cage, hanging above Whumper’s lair. Peeking through the bars, they can see Wumper moving about below them. At first, they are grateful for the lack of attention from their torturer. Anything is better than being hurt again.

But as time goes on the loneliness starts to get to them. Whumpee watches Whumper constantly, praying for any glance upward; any indication that Whumper was thinking about them.

They yell through the gag in their mouth. Nothing. They bang their head against the bars. Nothing. Tears fall without permission every time Whumper walks by and their eyes don’t even flick in the direction of the hanging cage.

Did Whumper forget about them?

Whumpee would take any punishment just for the proof that someone knows they exist.

When Whumper finally lets Whumpee out and subjects them to a brutal beating, Whumpee smiles through it and finishes it with a weakened “Thank you.”
