Ishida posted another Jack Jeanne winter play backstory to Twitter for Suzu's birthday, January 19th. It includes a new drawing and a music link. No play spoilers in this one as it's more a history of Havenna itself. Thanks to @himehikoshrine for working with me on this. Please read their summary of our translation notes as well since some nuances were impossible to fully capture in English.

Under the rule of the feudal lord, Mugwort Castle floated upon Lake Artemisia, Home to the Vena family.

Farms spread out across the lakeshore. There they grew the Vena specialty: exceptional quality mugwort.

The Vena family bought a large number of servants in the lands to the south and set them to work on the farms.

One day, a rebellion broke out among the servants. An army of about 180 gathered along the shore.

"Step ashore, and you will never be able to return to the other side. Our goal is neither money nor fame. We seek only freedom.

Oh Raham Vena (Pity the Vena). O Lord, strike down those corrupted by greed."

The rebel army besieged Mugwort Castle, setting the family and their fortress ablaze.

After winning their freedom through force, the rebel army made their base on the island in the lake. To sustain themselves, they repeatedly pillaged nearby farming villages.

When those villages ran out of things to steal, they set out further and further.

After rumours began to spread, criminals, deserters, and those with hidden wounds of guilt came to join their ranks.

They continued all along the shore, until there was soon nothing left in sight.

Those who had once freed their lives from oppression had turned to seeking pleasure. The island in the lake came to be known as the city of Havenna.

Of the former rulers, some of the Vena family fled as the servants set the castle ablaze. They continued to live in secret.

The Vena family line eventually ended with only a single father and son living as beggars.

The son, Jire, was captured by a human trafficker and sold into Havenna. His father was killed for resisting.

Getting to Know You Tag Game

Three Ships: can I say Drarry three times? 😅 if I had to pick 2 more that I may someday read/write I’d say Jegulus and Merthur.

First Ship: I do believe the first ship I ever read was Harry/Hermione. But this was before HBP was released so my little 15-year-old brain hadn’t yet considered Drarry as an option hahaha.

Last Song: Ndikhethe Wena by Ami Faku. This is an absolutely beautiful lullaby I play for my children (and for myself sometimes tbh it’s so calming). Last song I played for myself was likely something by Conan Gray- I’m having a bit of an obsession at the moment.

Last Movie: Oppenheimer. But not for long because I’ll likely rewatch Red, White, and Royal Blue for the fourth time like… tonight. 🙃

Currently Reading: if Drarry fics would stop distracting me I may finally get more than 1/4 through In Memoriam by Alice Winn (it’s very good, I just have a Drarry addiction). As far as fic, I’m listening to my first podfic! In Bad Faith by fencer_x

Currently Watching: Good Omens! I’m on ep 3 (s2). Just when I think I can’t love David Tennant any more, I’m proven wrong. The man is a marvel.

Last Thing I Wrote: a very fun Drabble for the HPFC Discord’s MLM/pyramid scheme prompt 😅 (I will likely post it here as well after judging.)

I just wanted to come drop some love in your inbox. Your soul mate stuff is some of my favorite content (fanfic, published books, whatever) that I've ever read and I reread it all the damn time. I've been around since probably chapter 3 of Alewife and you truly make Sundays better.

Not to mention your Together verse just brings me to my damn knees. I read Taking Care Together probably once a month; you can do the math on that one. 😂 Thinking about a healthy, loving throuple with those two men alters my brain chemistry.

You capture all the PP characters flawlessly, but also give us secondary characters that I fall in love with just as much. Honestly, if you told me I would read and enjoy a Tom heavy chapter that didn't end with him dying I would call you crazy, but Molly was so compelling! I can't even get started on Wena and Briac... I have cried and cheered and held my breath while reading about them.

In summary: If you have millions of fans, I am one of them. If you have only one fan, that is me. If you have no fans, that means I am no longer on this earth.

I have some news for you, my dear. With extremely few exceptions, @absurdthirst has always written the PP boys in the stories we create together. We create our universes, plots, characters, etc all together, but she is the force behind the way the PP characters are portrayed. Quick Introduction for the main characters in a new original story: The Guardian's Heir

Kamaria Dee: An average teen who accidentally gained the powers of the Guardian of the Night. Now having to decide how she wants to use her new powers.

Wena Steele: The current Guardian of Mountains. She inherited her powers from her aunt, at the age of 13.

Yina Tian: The new Guardian of Gardens. Often overexcited and accidentally lets her powers get out of control sometimes.

This post is a brief overview of the history and systems of the Magefolks living in the Kosmos from my WIP Dead Man Walking. Might get long and winding, with themes of war and violence. Thread carefully.

I. History

Magic has always existed in the ancient empire. The most potent of it can be manipulated by mere words, which was believed to be the reason why angels walked and lived in this particular world. However, because of a particularly grueling series of events, angels no longer existed in Kosmos. It was not even an empire anymore.

However, magic remained, and the people who could use them are called magefolks.

II. Different Kinds of Magefolks

Witches - what differentiates witches is their connection to nature and their affiliation to magic manifests by words or by the ancient tongue, interacting with the elements of the kosmos to produce desired effects.

Warlocks - warlocks obtain power from an object of interest, called tangi. Objects like these may vary, and the power they manifest as can also be different. Some warlocks particularly believe that the most powerful tangi are the relics left behind by angels.

Sorcerer / Sorceress - those who practice sorcery deal with visions, imagery, illusions, and glamour. Often their power is wielded to deceive, not particularly with bad intentions, and to hide.

Alchemists - none in magefolk kind are as akin to curiosity as alchemists, who live in constant research. They deal with the physical nature, often through the help of gems, stones, and the like.

III. Structures and Organizations

There are three different types of magefolk structures scattered throughout the three kingdoms;

A coven is a group of magefolk with members ranging from four to less than fifteen, unrelated by blood but bound by magic. This used to be exclusive to witches but not anymore.

A clan is more of an extended family of magefolk. One of the known clans in the magefolk communities are the Asterias, who led the campaign against magefolk exploitation and the main reason why Valhalle won the war against Lurez during the Great Blue War (called as such because it happened at sea).

A guild is a larger organization, sometimes composed of different covens and clans. It's more like a company, ensuring its members have jobs, quests, or commissions. Usually, guilds have certain requirements, such as formal education, before accepting one as a member.

IV. Formal Education

There is only one known formal school for education on magefolk studies in the entire Kosmos, called the Magisterium. Not all magefolks need to study, but modern ones put emphasis on its importance. The Magisterium teaches a lot of courses such as but not limited to Arithmetics, Language, the Modern Mage, Medicine, etc.

From the Writer's Desk:

One of the absolute joys of writing fantasy novels (well at least for me) is coming up with the history and boy did I have a lot of fun with that one.

Coming up with the term 'magefolk' was a surprise because I honestly didn't know what to call when there were so many of their kind, and it was tiring to repeat the same nouns in multiple paragraphs so I said fuck it I'm making my own collective noun.

I didn't really think much about this when I was making the plot, it all just kept rolling out naturally... I even forgot why there were other kinds when the focus of the story is just a witch but... I don't know, I think I just wanted to be open to possibilities? Haha.

Did I write a spin-off in a different timeline and Harry Potter-d my way about the Magisterium? Nope, of course not. Does it currently have a rough outline and characters? No, it definitely doesn't. With class syllabus included? The answer is, of course, no.

Hey all! So, just a smol update from me :)

I will be publishing an Isabela x fem!reader super rushed fic in a little while - It really is rushed and is probably highkey rubbish lmao.

Anyways, after I’ve posted the Isa fic, I’m gonna start posting little fics for my oc ships and oc x canon!characters, I know some/most of y’all came here for my Encanto fics but my Encanto obsession is dying out and I just don’t have the motive to write much for Encanto anymore, I may throw a few surprise Encanto fics out there a couple times maybe but they probably won’t be series (if you’re in the discord server, they won’t be much of a surprise as y’all will get updates lmao, looking at’chu Mochie, Sage, Poppy, Mimi, Wena & Bloom :’D).

Anyways, there will be a couple posts once the isa fic is published which will basically be me introducing y’all to some of my OC’s. I will be writing for my OC’s from Supernatural, Teen Wolf, The Maze Runner, The Amazing Spider-Man, Encanto & also for an oc ship that isn’t part of a particular fandom and just have their own story. All of my oc fics will also not follow a particular story, they will simply be little drabbles (some of which I’ll be writing for a drabble project me and a few friends have going on Instagram).

Anyways, if y’all wanna unfollow me for the lack of Encanto fics then feel free to do so, I won’t come after you or question why. You’re welcome to unfollow.

Hi everyone, sorry for disappearing. Been kinda busy and low on energy tbh.

But hey, I'm cooking a new fic for the ship 👀 It'll be posted in Spanish tho, so you may need a translator to read it (unless you don't mind waiting for 2027 when I'll finally translate the fic). I'm writing it as part of a collab I joined on Facebook called "Un sabor familiar" (A Familiar Taste). The theme was retelling, and guess which story I'm retelling with Clay and Hydron. Hint: It's my main inspiration for their dynamic ;)
