Hi! I would love to hear why you think Klaus and Bonnie would be a compatible or at least fascinating match :) I can tell you're going to turn me into a Klonnie shipper even though the last thing I need in my life is another doomed OTP!!
Hey :D I love a good doomed ship it makes the fandom more interesting especially in terms of creativity tbh.
Bonnie had proven herself to be just as morally corrupt as other characters as needed. Sure, it wasn’t to the extreme of others but it existed especially if her friends were threatened. That type of loyalty and strength would be what Klaus would like because of how possessive and selfish he is.
There’s Bennett-Mikaelson connections through the lore of TVD. Ayana was Esther’s mentor. Abby entombed Mikael. Then in present there’s Esther prasing Bonnie for being the one to fight Klaus. Elijah recruited Bonnie to do it. Both Bonnie and Klaus have parental struggles on both sides. Klaus is more forefront than Bonnie’s but it exists. Tagging my friends content here :).
Tumblr media
Klaus was introduced with an affinity for witches (Gloria, Maddox, Greta..)it was just dropped after well you know ;). But in a sibling light I could see both Rebekah and Kol taking a liking to Bonnie. Rebekah wanted that normal highschool experience and Kol was formerly a witch. We got a little bit of Kennett moments in s4 but that was dropped. Bonnie is the only TVD character to never have her own side friend out the group.
Narratively TVD would’ve just had to work with their few key points to make Klonnie a slow burn ship from s2-4 tbh. Bonnie kept getting the short-stick. Season 3 she got cheated on, her mother abandoned again, she had all the reasons to distant herself from her friends and end up in someone’s darker arms. The Mikaelson Ball ep Esther is leeching off Bonnie and her bloodline yet Bonnie is no where to be found… huh… Bonnie doesn’t get enough in universe credit for her actions because she has not only nearly killed Klaus she has saved his life(and everyone else’s.)
Season 4 Bonnie was dipping into a darker side with Expression and she blindly trusted Shane just to learn magic. It would be another moment for Klaus to try and get in her good graces. Klaus would have to open up emotionally for Bonnie to sympathize with him. I think they would challenge each other. Bonnie is one of the female characters who can fight back to people who are trying to harm her in a way Elena or Caroline can’t tbh.
Bonnie wasn’t just any witch either she was a Bennett which her family is responsible for nearly everything in TVD. I don’t think Klaus would’ve suddenly became a “Disney prince” type of BF by any means but I could see the relationship working. Klaus is still an elitist bastard with years of knowledge Bonnie would want. Bonnie is willing to give that loyalty to anyone who is good to her. Cami is seen as good and she even falls for Klaus lmao.
Last point people only play morality clauses with Bonnie because the series does. By the end of TVD Bonnie considers Damon not Elena or Caroline or Matt her bestfriend. That should say enough about what Bonnie would allow but….The writers and fans will argue that Bonnie doesn’t deserve to be paired up with toxic men or women but TVD never introduced anyone that was “morally good” by our world standards. Even Enzo physically harmed Bonnie pre-relationship. The other leads are white and never held to the same standards. Elena said it was Stefan until it wasn’t. Caroline said no to Klaus until she didn’t. Hayley’s arc includes with her fucking Klaus and dating Elijah… the list could continue.
Hope I made it all clear 😁.
Tagging some of my friends accounts who love Klonnie too: @klonnieshippersclub @melmedardasworld @mythorhuman @24kmagiic @bennettmaximoff

AAAAAAAAAAAA DRAMATURGY EPILOGUEEE
I love the lengthy wrap up of so many loose ends, the slow mend of things torn and that utter contentment to be found with people just existing right there. This is going to be my go-to comfort fic for found family to re-read over and over and over and over
Now I wanna pick your brain on all the bits; worldwalker shapeshifting Gem? Its so coool I love it. When did you decide to give her and others (Scar, Cub?) powers? What did Cub actually do at the end of Grumbot there? What was your favorite part of the epilogue to write? And which part was the most emotional for you? (tough question, I know I can't choose between Pearl & Gem's or Pearl & Grian's conversations)
WHEW dear god thank you for presenting me a pass to go insane on a silver platter. i’ll be putting my answers under a read more so i don’t explode people’s feeds with nonsense
most of the magic decisions made are based ~mostly in what i know about canon, i just ended up filling in some blanks and playing around with what’s already there! i’m endlessly fascinated by gem’s dimension-hopping (empires isn’t addressed in dramaturgy, but i operate on everything she said about her powers in e2) and i think the idea that she can open portals at will and freely travel between worlds/universes in a way that other players can’t is amazing. then the shapeshifting just made sense to me in how she changes her appearance around to fit into whatever character she wants to take on in each world.
cub and scar lore i’m a lot less familiar with since i only know of certain clips about their vex deal, but i kind of treat it similarly to gem in that i assume they can shift their forms around (ie. how often scar changes to fit a character like gem does, cub going from old man to s8 e-boy skin) and have a peculiar knowledge around portals (ie. the big dig, scar using his “wizard portals” to travel between seasons.) however i think gem has a different kind of expertise working with portals with how often she dimension-hops, so those two were kind of just doing unethical science at the rift to see what stuck lol.
the rift on its own is its whole thing in my Fanon Brain, but i have a strong image of it as a living, breathing entity that sucks things in and spits them back out in other spaces indiscriminately. dramaturgy scar describes it as hungry and i think that’s about as apt as it gets. stuck perpetually wanting to consume yet unable to hold anything in. then one of my biggest plot problems to solve was making the story line up with grian’s lore, aka grumbot (prime) getting tossed in the canon timeline ominously hinting at the other grian’s crimes, so i asked myself how dramaturgy hermits could have weaponized the rift and that’s where i landed! i admittedly don’t have a specific answer to how cub would have aggravated the rift enough to make it go hogwild in chapter 10, but i personally just imagined him figuring it out at one point or another by throwing shit in until something worked
dear god this is already getting long but epilogue!!! my answer for favorite scene to write is a little anticlimactic but i love writing all the evo flashbacks. if you couldn’t tell i am completely evo enamored. i love the strange, off-putting, nostalgic innocence of “something unpreventable and life-altering is about to happen and they Don’t Know.” i love them working together to get to the stronghold and entering the end portal thinking it’s going to be another task of teamwork as always and then just *silence* on the other end. amazing incredible tragic love it
(also on that note i loved writing the scene atop the mansion. just one last hermit acting entirely too normal while subjecting pearl to cursed knowledge before we go)
and lastly for most emotional to write i’d definitely say the scene at the hobbit hole! i’ve had that one as well as the sleepover at impulse’s in the back of my mind for so long i’m just glad i got it out. getting there was like the end of an era for me. everything with grian and pearl finally being back together but still not quite on the same page. i think pearl seeing grian so taken aback in the face of the tangible proof of his actions and mumbo’s feelings was the straw that broke the camel’s back, because at this point in the story pearl’s finally willing to see herself in mumbo’s situation. she’s finally realizing how badly she needs this specific closure but grian’s too busy going ???my actions… have consequences? i can’t just run off into the night with no negative impact on the people around me?
(which is of course also a matter of a warped sense of self-image and understanding emotions, but grian will go on murder sprees in the 3rd life time loop box before exercising an ounce of self-reflection, more at 11.) and only after seeing pearl shaking like a sad wet chihuahua clutching this random notebook of his like it’s the sacred texts does he really start to grasp how genuinely bad it’s been for her. like that would have been obvious to anyone who’s normal but whatever. i love studying skyblings like bugs
ANYWAYS. i hope you enjoyed this thought dump and thank you again for the ask i owe you my life

Tell Us A Story!

"As you were saying, Bex, about how you got here."
"Hm? Oh, yes! So I was sitting but the riverbank until I saw this rabbit.."
---
You thought that Silly being the Cheshire Cat was the only one changed? News flash, I had also changed up the Mad Hatter's spot too. (not exactly, I'll get into why in a second) Stacy is the Mad Hatter! The reason why Silly and Stacy have been included in the AU out of NOWHERE is because when I first made Bex in Wonderland. I seemed to completely miss the two when I made it. So I thought why not include them anyways. I know I had Galactica as the Mad Hatter (or Mad Catter as I called her cuz cat pun). But I don't think I'm having Stacy be a "replacement role" as I did with Silly replacing Smiler's role. 2 Hatters and a "Hare" (Oblivion is still a cat in this AU even though she's the March Hare) for Bex to deal with. What more could this anxious cat ask for hehe- but it's not too bad, Stacy doesn't change that much as the Mad Hatter anyways, maybe a bit more theatrical in her mannerisms but that's really it. So it's not like Bex just met 3 completely different characters. So things are a bit more calm for Bex this time around from all of the nonsense in Wonderland. I still want to change up a few things in regards to this AU so that it's not a direct copy of 1951 Alice in Wonderland (other than the fact that this AU has a cast of magical talking fantasy animals). Whether it be in characters present, dialogue and all that. I do want to also reference the books when I can too, since this gorgeous film wouldn't exist without Alice's Adventures in Wonderland and Through the Looking Glass in the first place! I also just realised that I could've made Silly the March Hare to soften the blow of Stacy suddenly being the Mad Hatter, but ah, it's fine, we get an already funny coyote being the funny disappearing cat, so I'd consider that a win. ANYWAYS, I know you guys don't see Stacy or Silly in full view in these drawings, and they're kinda obscured in it, but I might aswell mention that Stacy has a polka dot dress! The skirt part has polka dots, that is. I just thought that she would wear something with a bit of polka dot in it as the Mad Hatter. I just thought it would add to fun of the film.
---
Also I think I should mention this here too but- it's Bex, Silly and Stacy's "design anniversaries" today! Basically it's been 4 years today that I first overhauled their designs and started to give them some lore. Aaaaaannnd, a LOT has changed in those 4 years, which I'm happy about! I like seeing the evolution and change these 3 went through over the 4 years. It's nostalgic to see what young teen me was thinking up of and putting these guys in. I probably should've done something for that today, but I was working on this for the past few days cuz I've gotten caught up in playing Minecraft again. Managed to get a horse and name them "Koko" after Koko the Clown from Fleischer's cartoons :]. But I do wanna have a go at possibly redrawing old artwork from 2021/2022 that features the trio! I feel like it would be a fun experience to see the change in style and also the trio themselves :]

It’s 3 fucking am in the morning last night and I wondered about songs of war plot in my head about how why there are no fucking civil war in ardonia when Rendor stepped down as a supreme king of ardonia. Like that shit happened every time in a normal political gap when absent of absolute ruler create power vacuumed. And also how other species reacted to this especially the ardoni. Do they always under ender knight controlled? They seem to have rule over themselves but what about their interactions with other species? Also the nether should attacked after enderknight disappeard right? Then how other kingdoms govern themselves. Do they have a group of senate? Or there are king of their owns. Why tf can’t we have the first Great War as a main story it’s 10x more interesting than the entire canon ender arc god damn it-
also long time no see gren. I love you
-old songs of war fan, currently rookie writer.
Hey there! Sorry for replying so late! School's been bothering me lately. I'll try my best to answer your questions, apologies in advance for any lore-related errors :D
"why there are no fucking civil war in ardonia when Rendor stepped down as a supreme king of ardonia"
Yeah, I do agree with your first question. How did the kingdoms not fall into civil war when their people rebelled against the End Monarchy? Wouldn't the power vacuum presented be literally ripe for the taking???
Btw If there was a Civil War then the Nether would've exploited this instability and attacked the Overworld sooner hgdsfgdshjs. A civil war that ended right before the Nether invasion could also explain the kingdoms' ill-preparedness
"how other species reacted to this especially the ardoni"
I don't know much about SoW lore except Ardoni lore so I'll answer the Ardoni part.
The Ardoni probably remained more or less the same due to the End's loose grip on them. I'd like to imagine that the End Monarchy probably let the Ardoni do their own thing so the Ardoni aren't displeased with their dictators. With the Ardoni being one of the oldest and most important inhabitants of Ardonia (given that the entire continent was named after them), losing the Ardoni's favour would mean losing the political legitimacy of ruling over Ardonia, given that the Ender Monarchs are humans iirc.
Moreover, as the Ardoni do possess Songs, which are extremely dangerous and versatile magic powers, an Ardoni rebellion would be extremely hard to quell. That's why I think the End Monarchs would be more lax to the Ardoni compared to the humans.
It seems like the people rebelled, in the end, so I guess the Ardoni were unhappy with their Ender dictator.
Tumblr media
Are they always under Enderknight Control?
In the production files, a rough timeline of the plot is found, which puts the event of End vs Nether before the beginning of Ardoni civilization. I don't know if that's related to the Overworld? The question of when did the End began to rule over the Overworld remains unanswered.
Tumblr media
The rest of the questions require a lot of brainpower to answer so I'll just answer the final one since it's the least demanding XD Maybe another day I'll take on those political questions you raised :')
Why tf can't we have the first great war as a main story it's 10x more interesting than the entire canon Ender Arc god damn it-
Soooo trueee!!! The First Great War had vibrant, legendary characters like Achillean, Ingressus, Galleous, Thalleous, Vulcannus, Pythus, Chronos, Rendor etc.... While our MC Senn's just... Here? (No offense he still has his struggles and an arc). Heck even Abbigail's more interesting! I wish we got to see more pre- and during First Great War content TwT
My final comment on SoW:

That's it for tonight! Hope we can get to chat again Anon! (Hopefully I can get to know who you are so I can reciprocate your feelings XDD) I wish you good luck with your writing endeavours ;)

Ableism definitely plays a part in the way the fandom perceives Bran but he's also kind of screwed due to how GRRM hates writing his chapters.
He has so few like only 3 in adwd when the magical stuff is supposed to really be ramping up, the way it's looking in twow Jaime will surpass him in chapter count despite only becoming a pov since the 3rd book.
At the end of the day, how much time we spend with a character definitely influences how attached the fandom gets to them and bran has half far less chapters than the other main characters, literally half of Jon's.
It would've helped having a couple of extra chapters of him in winterfell with more scenes of him and rickon and other characters or an extra asos chapter showing him learning how to survive.
I'm not blaming grrm. He's talked about why he doesn't enjoy writing Bran's chapters, and he has valid explanations. It's just one of those unfortunate things.
I do agree that a lack of screen page time hurts him, a lot. And this means that he doesn’t have a big fanbase that will defend him or further the agenda like most of the other mains. He’s by far the least popular of the central characters so he gets ignored a ton.
I think there’s other issues with Bran that GRRM might be tryin to avoid (which in turn makes him harder to write). On one hand, he’s a very handy character when it comes to lore dumping (especially when it comes to stuff regarding the long night, magic, etc). But you don’t want to overdo it so much that he becomes less of a character and more of an expository machine. This was one of GOT’s biggest problems, Branbot 3000 who only existed to reveal stuff and dip with little no to character growth. Plus, if Bran can see everything in past and present and future, he can/should reveal stuff about the lore (I.e., first war for the dawn) that GRRM might not want to let out just yet. So we’re left with a spattering of chapters between the last five books that seemingly put him in the back burner.
Fingers crossed that TWOW will ramp up Bran’s visibility now that magic is taking a front seat. I have a feeling that he’s going to start cropping up in different plot lines (e.g., Jon’s return + mini magic training arc + journey beyond the wall). And with the book being titled “The Winds of Winter”, we should be able to learn a little bit more about the lore which means more Bran content (yay!). And we’ll have the endgame in sight which should promise a new spring and a resurgence of the wolves. So that would require more chapters and hopefully people start to see how far his narrative influence could reach.

not sure if i already did this before here, but consider this a formal introduction to the transfer of my twitter media thread to tumblr. and im starting it with a really special one!!!
Tonight............. i finished Super Lesbian Animal RPG by Bobby Schroeder (@ponett / @slarpg) with my friends. I shared the experience with two who had played the game already, and another who was as blind as me.
i will say without going into at all, but if you are a gay furry (especially trans) and love stuff like sonic, or MLP:FiM, or just gay fantasy in general, go play this game. It's REALLY GOOD! going in blind was a treat. That being said, here's my thots.................. theres a LOT!!!!!
Tumblr media
i didn't actually find out about SLARPG until i began reading the sonic archie comics a year or so back. i needed a reading order and by GOD did I find one. not to start this post about slarpg with a ramble about sonic archie, but it was genuinely such a great read, and all the stuff on Thanks, Ken Penders ( @thankskenpenders ), made it all the more enjoyable! that ASIDE it's also how i saw the author of the blog, who i realized i was following already for awhile, was making her own game! and one so shamelessly gay and furry as well! i was INSTANTLY interested...
after the game came out, it took me awhile to get around to it. it wasn't until someone very close to me got really into it that i decided i'd commit the time. it took 20 hours of gay activity, but i started it having silly fun voice acting a bunch of animals with my friends, and ended with tears in my eyes and love in my heart.
the game is written in a way that just gels perfectly with me. everything is both very casual feeling, but also genuine. it's never really ashamed of what it is, and that's all i can ask for from a game with a name like Super Lesbian Animal RPG.
The characters are easily the highlight of the game, never once feeling like simple cutouts or stereotypes. Everyone is just a delight to read. My favorites were easily Melody, Allison, and the man himself Javis. Being a gay ADHD filled bunny with a love for hitting things with sticks and hammers, Allison especially spoke to me.
The world of SLARPG is only seen through a small vertical slice, with the vastness left to your mind, which works very well in its favor. Slowly as you explore the areas your presented, you learn more and more about the world just through your own intuition. Discover the races that live on the planet, where the characters all came from to get here, the power structures put into place, how magic has effected such a modernized world. It makes you want to learn so much more, really. I found myself really interested in the vague lore we get of the supposed Gods that make up the powers of the world, which I hope can be further expanded on one day.
As a Video Game(tm), id say it does exactly what it sets out to do. I'm an RPG Girl, i love Figuring Shit Out in them. I play them headfirst and love to make strategies for silly bosses especially. SLARPG is a RPGM VX Ace game that doesn't exactly do anything CRAZY, as much as it does use its platform incredibly well. It is a SOLID RPG, it sets out to have a concise and simple battle system, with a lot of fun tools to play with. Even if I recognize all the scripts being used, how they get used always felt great. There were very few slipups in the way the game was put together when i played too, which as an RPGM dev, is always impressive to see. I think my only point of contention while playing was the random encounters getting a bit monotonous near the final stretch of the game, and the bosses being a bit too easy for my liking, but otherwise, mwah great rpg!!
one of the BIGGEST highlights, outside of the writing, is the amazing art, and i really mean it!! EVERY character has an amazingly cute character portrait, and every single sprite is so full of life! the backgrounds/tilesets tend to take the cake though, some of the best I've seen in a game like this personally. The dungeons are incredibly visually striking, and every single character design sticks in my head as memorable. MAJOR props to Javis and all his boys too. god bless those freaks.
and finally, i can talk about the writing in specific. it is... special. and i mean that in the best way i can. the story is pretty simple. Melody Amaranth and her girlfriend Allison Goleta join their friends guild to go on adventures, and are granted magic by their mage using a forbidden ritual. From there, hijinks ensue, involving a sociopathic VHS headed cipher-like individual, the worlds most jerkish butch, and a proclaimed Goddess of Magic coming for YOU!!! Despite all that though, the story to me felt focused much more on the relationship between the protagonists. Especially Melody and Allison.
I'm not sure how much I could go into specifics from memory alone, but it is... really good, what they do with the two main girls. Exploring the ways relationships blossom and mend. It's never all drama, nor is it all flowers. It's very real feeling. I connected to it a lot, in ways I never thought I could. Recently, I've been re-exploring my sexuality, what I want in romance, if I can even FEEL romance. This game helped a lot. It helped me be a lot more honest about my feelings, and let myself open up a lot more.
It wasn't just Melody and Allison either, there's multiple other great relationships in the games story. They're ALL adorable, and ALL amazingly written. We see a perfect mix of childhood love, new love, and trained love, each one shown with both strain, and triumph. As a girl who longingly read countless yuri manga and scoured plenty of garbage yuri anime as a kid desperately looking for something I could see myself in... and then this game comes along not only with that amazing representation, but two of the main characters are like VOCALLY transgender!! they don't play around SHTI!! This game is like a cup of cold, refreshing, root beer. god BLESS!!!!!
im about done rambling now though. if you got this far reading and still havent played slarp, WHATRE U WAITING FOR!!! GO KISS SOME GIRLS!!! GOD BLESS!!!!!!!
Tumblr media
ADDENDUM: THE MUSIC FUCKS HARD AND CRAZY STYLE I ALMOST FORGOT EVEN AS THE TUNES PLAY IN MY HEAD!! THIS SHIT IS SOME REAL VGM CLASSICS OF ALL TIME

From what I've seen online, the major consensus amongst HP fans is that Cursed Child is NOT canon ( and many simply pretend it doesn't exist). I remember when it first came out and was being promoted, both the stage show and the published script, and everyone was really excited for new HP material... until we realised that it just... wasn't canon... at all. Yeah, the idea of Voldemort as presented in the HP novels having any sort of romantic relationship with Bellatrix and having a child is simply ridiculous and certainly just exists as a way for him to have a secret child for reasons of the wacky plot... it's very tween fanfic and also very Disney channel sequel (like the og villains all having kids we never heard about is totally a real Disney channel thing).
I remember it being very clear at the time that it came out that any "pointers" or "ideas" JKR provided to the actual writer of CC must've been the very barest of bones, the tiniest of shards perhaps, because it simply read like a sort of AU fanfiction written by the most casual of fans... which, as I understand, it really was. At the time when it came out, it was pretty clear that she had very little to do with actually writing it, though I suppose more was made later of her 'involvement' to legitimise it. I heard since that someone asked her if it should be considered canon, and she said yes? Not sure how this interaction actually went down as I don't particularly care to look into it (since nothing will change my mind that the AU of CC makes no sense within the context of HP canon and lore and it was probably some kind of marketing tactic in support of the stage play) but as she clearly didn't actually write CC herself and it contradicts many things from the books she did write, I'm pretty happy to continue ignoring its existence.
What do you think of Fantastic Beasts in comparison? Personally, I put Fantastic Beasts in a separate category where I can kind of accept aspects of it as canon expansions of the lore and worldbuilding... I can see JKR's style clearly and the inconsistencies with timelines and certain characters being in places and times they shouldn't be don't bother me as much as the straight up character assassination we see in CC. To put it another way, I think CC feels like it belongs to a totally different IP and was written by a different author (because it was) while FB definitely still exists in Rowling's wizarding world, it's just the timeline is kinda off.
this is interesting context. I think she kind of has to say yes to that question in context, because like... who's going to shill out £150 to see some random dude's AU fanfiction play (if it isn't even good)? of course, JKR's stamp isn't nothing, but even she can't weld extra content into the canon by declaring it so. i see TCC like church ephemera: i'm sure SOMEONE finds it interesting or relevant to what we're doing here, but that doesn't mean it's part of the Bible.
i feel the same way about fantastic beasts, but to a lesser extent. i actually enjoyed the first fantastic beasts movie, i thought it was playful and charming and (with the exception of the dumb polyjuice plot) the perfect way to revive harry potter as a storytelling vehicle. like, yeah, it fucked up by trying to go too big too soon, but if you can remove one (1) subplot or narrative thread and have a solid movie, then as a writer, you've still done okay.
Fantastic Beasts also annoys me because it does feel like harry potter, in terms of tone and mouthfeel. it's got the sauce. it just heinously drops the ball in later installations. in particular, it starts getting nervous about holding the audience's attention and throws stuff in that just wouldn't make it in a natural, organic script — most of the shit from the original series is contrived and ill-suited to the dramatic tenor set by Movie About Funny Man Collecting Magical Animals. (e.g. going back to hogwarts? leta lestrange's secret white father revengeplot triple-rugpull? human nagini?? secret undead dumbledore brother raised by american evangelicals???). i like the idea of it very much. i'm honestly drawn to it as a creative space, because unlike TCC, there is potential there. it's just badly abused.

i hate to be that guy but i wish there were more bb fics that were less smut and more lore bc for such a rich story there is mostly just nsfw stuff in the ao3 tag lol. but no offense if ppl like that..

Your feelings are valid, anon!
Like, yeah, it is one of those 'kinda petty gripe' moments I was talking about! People are completely valid to spend their time and effort on what makes them (and often their mutuals and fans) happy! Yet at the same time, I am myself a huge fucking NERD about timeline, concepts, worldbuilding, messages, philosophy, specifics of factions and covenants, systems of 'magic' and science within the lore and all that, and if presented with a choice between the hottest fanfic for my OTP or an oddly detailed fictional research paper on something complex that went within the lore, I'd not even hesitate to pick the latter xd
Tumblr media
There ARE many things to think about in BB, yes! My personal favorite to dissect were how Kin works and headanons about Great Ones (ALL of them). I have not found a cool way to put my BB worldbuilding dissections into a fic, tho... :') Me and @val-of-the-north also dream of writing a large prequel of Pthumerians history with what predated dungeons and some known characters. But we are more visual artists than writers. Sigh!
I could offer an advice for the situation when you have a gripe with something that is most popular in a fandom, and wish people did more interesting stuff:
1) Have a tiny group of people who are bitter about the same thing (can also be conveniently put in a Discord chat)! It is extremely therapeutic to have a few friends with whom you can be haters together, so you vent it all out and go to the 'public' fandom all happy and cheerful, not carrying this negativity to the open internet where people that love [a thing] can see it. I mean- I do have a group like this! Our most frequient petty haters sessions are pouting at the fact that this or that character only gets remembered as part of a ship and not as their own person xd Feeling heard in a small group where your words can't hurt anyone, nor anyone will guilt you for being "entitled" is just. good.
2) Create the stuff you would like to see more of (drawings, fanfics, essays, theories, headcanons, memes prompting an idea in a subtle way even), or encourage people to think more about this stuff (prompting discussions, buying art/fic commissions, doing trades (art for fic, for example), catching a person that accepts requests and spending yours on what you'd like to see more of, sending people asks that could trigger to develop something about lore etc). Really mind the latter, though! Like... trust me dude, even if you can't draw or write, nor have enough money for commissions, you can still cause pretty tangible influence on creativity! If you just say right things at the right time to the right people. Heck- I more or less got some skill at inspiring people creatively <:3 Like... I prompt a person to think of this or that theme or character, and before I know it they already developed something because of that discussion? (not tryna boast xd) Or another good example is @heraldofcrow who mastered the skill of prompting discussions about Bloody Crow sooooo well that people keep becoming his fans because of her, and some are even drawing him thanks to her! I constantly see people creating more content of the boy thanks to her, and all she did was simply talking to them! xD A gripe at a character, theme, concept etc not being popular enough can cause GREAT things to happen and you can become people's MUSE! 😎
_______________
Hmmmm I think that's it! Basically? You probably have more charisma to inspire writers (including to fiddle with lore) than you are aware of. They need readers, AND they need ideas. You will figure this out! ...or even write a killer fanfic yourself.

This is the first installment of Rowena's Future Vision - a compilation of short stories and character building for my OC fic "What's the Magic Word?" a romance novel between Rowena the Witch and Eustass 'Captain' Kid. These stories don't have a firm place in the main story timeline, take them as bonus stories to build up my fic.
Merry Christmas to all who celebrate ~ Word count: 2.6K CW: SFW, fluffy Christmas celebration story, super soft/romantic Kid, some suggestive content, cursing, and OC background lore. Minors do not interact with my posts or blog.

Rowena awoke freezing her ass off. The Victoria Punk had been sailing for days and the weather had changed overnight to more ice-like conditions. Shivering under the duvet cover, she peeked through her lashes to see if Kid was awake. His face looked peaceful, no creases or angry veins disturbing his handsome, scarred face. Strands of his gorgeous red hair covered his face and if she wasn’t so damn cold she would have reached over and gently brushed them aside. Maybe plant a sleepy kiss on his soft lips.
“What’re you starin’ at?” his deep voice startled her.
“Your beautiful face,” she whispered back, tucking the cover over the lower half of her face.
That made his eyes shoot open, glaring at her but she saw the corners of his mouth twitch upwards. “We talked about this,” he growled quietly.
“Yes and we’re in the privacy of our room. I’ve broken no rules.” She mentally prepared herself for what was coming. Kid’s hand shot out from under the covers and wrapped around Rowena’s waist. Before she could protest, he dragged her body to his, tucking the Witch under his chin.
“Shut up smartass. Too cold to argue with you.”
Rowena chuckled, her face pressed into the column of his throat, her laughter reverberated against him. “It is too cold. I don’t want to get out of bed but I’m hungry.”
“It should always be cold on Christmas. Plus, Killer’s probably already making a good stew and eggnog. Everyone is off today, we’re gonna drink and celebrate!”
“Kid?”
“Hmmh?
“What is Christmas?”
Kid pulled the Witch away from him, eyeing her to see if she was joking. “Your coven didn’t do a celebration during Winter?”
“We had a weeklong celebration but not ‘Christmas.’”
“You ain’t ever seen big obnoxious trees and blinking lights covering up every hallway and grand ballroom or whatever the fuck they got up in the ‘holy land of Mariejois’?” he mocked the last bit of the sentence.
Rowena searched his eyes as she thought back. “Oh. The big pines?” Kid nodded. “Yeah I saw them but didn’t really understand what was going on. Wasn’t all there, ya know?” she pointed to her head. Kid pulled her back under his chin, planting a firm kiss on the top of her head.
“Killer’ll tell you all about it. Don’t worry about the gift exchange. Those are always drawn the day after the Christmas party so the crew has an entire year to get a gift. Obviously you weren’t here for the last one but hey, that means you’ll have one with us!”
“That sounds nice, I look forward to participating,” she kissed his throat. “Still too cold to convince me to leave this warm bed.”
Kid pulled back and gave her a large grin. “Well let me warm you up,” he purred as his large, calloused hands began to wander over her body.
Tumblr media
“---and then as time went on, the story became watered down until it became a fat man in a red suit that delivers presents to children all over the world. For those of us who didn’t have stable families or homes, we didn’t get that so we make our own tradition of it. Kid makes the tree, I make the meal, there’s a gift exchange and we party all day.”
Killer relaxed against the table, sipping his eggnog through a straw while everyone huddled around the newly made heater Kid had made. The Captain was spooning delicious lamb stew in his mouth; Rowena sat next to him, enjoying a glass of spiked hot chocolate.
“With my coven we celebrated the Yule, a multi-day festival to celebrate the winter season. We would sacrifice game animals and roast it for a meal. Throughout the week we would give out blessings to one another and ritualistic offerings. The first night was the best night – we would have a massive bonfire and dance in the snowfall!”
“That’s what we’re missing – snow!” Kid coughed out, finally emerging from his bowl. “All we’re getting is icy sleet and harsh winds. Just like back home!”
The crew muttered disappointed agreements, Killer loudly sighing. Rowena’s head swiveled to each face, then turned to Kid’s. He didn’t look mad and he didn’t look sad either. More like…dejected acceptance. Like he was used to being disappointed. She didn’t like it, didn’t like the way it threatened to break his previous excitement for the annual traditions. Rowena’s fingers grazed Kid’s cheek lovingly until he looked at her, mild annoyance and curiosity in his eyes.
“I can do that for you. Hold my hot choccy.”
The Kid Pirates stood in the hallway of the ship with the door open, watching the raven-haired Witch thumbing through her Grimoire and muttering to herself. After a few moments she snapped the book shut handing it to Killer, she grinned widely at Kid. She took her cup back and drained it quickly, placing it back in his flesh hand and jumping up to kiss him on the cheek. Rowena walked away so she didn’t see the red blush creep over his face and ears, nor the steam escaping his ears from how flushed he felt.
“One Christmas snow day coming right up, amorcito.” Kid’s head sunk a little as his crew looked to him, not understanding the affectionate nickname. Killer understood though, he always did, and his mask took on a pink hue from hearing the sentimental regards being shared.
The wind sharply tugged on her clothes, threatening to blow off her furs as she walked to the middle of the deck. She raised her hands and wand up, as if she was reaching for the massive nimbostratus clouds that loomed over the sky. The dark colored layers shifted at the same time the light pink crystal on her wand began to glow – it pulsed as the Witch began to chant.
“Muta formam tuam ad voluntatem meam - glacialis lacrimis pulveris nivis!” She shouted towards the sky twisting her wand in her grasp, her empty hand sort of grappling in the air as if she was trying to shake the cloud into submission.
Kid found himself smirking with fondness despite the silly way she looked while she tried to call forth a snowstorm. He heard whispering behind him and he was quick to snap around with a murderous glint in his eye, trying to find the perpetrator. Zeroing in on the pirate next to Wire, Kid stomped to him and towered over the smaller man.
“Pomp! Mind sharing with the rest of us what’s so fucking interesting?”
The little man broke into a light sweat. “I-um…was remarking on how sweet your lady is Boss. That she’d make a whole snow day for you and us just because it would make us feel better.” The pirates were quick to affirm their mate’s words.
He gave Pomp a warning glance before grinning, “of course she is! And she deserves another hot choccy. Fill ‘er up,” he dropped Rowena’s glass into his subordinate’s hands.
“Haikei, Rekt, Wire – go bring the tree from my workshop. Everyone else place your gifts under the tree when it’s done. Get the party set up in the meantime. And for fucks sake, wear warm clothes. Don’t flood U.K.’s infirmary like last year cause you all got fucking hypothermia.”
Kid made his way back to the door threshold in time to see Rowena’s efforts pay off. The sleet had stopped and the wind has lessened to a soft breeze. Craning his head up, the Captain could make out flurries descending from the gray clouds. He smiled as the first snowflakes melted against his skin; he stuck his tongue out to catch a few. Chuckling to himself, he looked down to see Rowena was also catching snowflakes with her tongue – that made his chuckling morph into gleeful laughter.
Kid made his way to the Witch. The masked pirate watched him go, struck by how bewitched his best mate was with his new…partner. Killer was happy for him; Kid deserved to love and be loved in return. Killer hoped he would be lucky enough one day to find someone who would love him like that. He kicked off the doorframe to help the crew prepare for the party.
Tumblr media
The powdered snow lightly coated Kid’s metal tree, crowned with a skeletal angel of course. The presents sat crowded underneath, and there was even a small snowman next to the tree, weapons in place of its arms. Snowballs were flying across the deck and music was blaring loudly as the pirates enjoyed the holiday.
A snowball hit the back of Killer’s mask and Kid laughed hystrerically as the snow fluttered to the ground.
Killer’s aura felt menacing as he turned to Heat. “Motherfucker, I’m taking your gift back!”
“No wait, I’m sorry!!”
“Aw have a heart Kil!” Kid slapped his best friend’s shoulder.
“Yeah don’t be a Scrooge!” Wire called from his snow wall fortress.
Killer waved his arms down in defeat, “back off I didn’t mean it!! It’s a good time as any to start the gift exchange.” He picked up his gift and tossed it to Heat. “Here you go, buddy.”
As everyone exchanged their presents, Rowena sat on a bench sipping another boozy hot chocolate. Each version had a different spin on it and Kid was apparently going to reward whichever crewmember’s boozy recipe Rowena liked best. Heat’s offering had a dash of cayenne pepper to the drink and it was delightful.
Kid sat next to her holding out a small box. “Merry Christmas Rowena.”
“Aw Kid! I wish I had known so I could have made you something!”
He smirked, “I know you would have that’s why I didn’t. Figured I could get away with it this year. Let me spoil you a little,” he nudged the gift into her trembling hands.
Kid’s gut coiled with anxiety as he watched her tear away the paper and open the box lid. Her soft gasp made him feel hopeful, searching her face for confirmation of something. Her hands lifted the metal trinket, it was shaped and designed to resemble a small treasure box. Rowena’s eyes lit up as she opened the lid – inside was a small version of the Victoria Punk sailing on the ocean; on the underside of the lid, a small witch figurine riding a broom stretched forward and sat just above the ship sail.
He reached his flesh hand to wind up the lever, “enjoy the show,” he whispered.
A soft melody began to flow through the air, the waves inside the treasure box began to sway and the ship started to rise and drop in motion. Finally, the witch figure began to fly around the sky in a preset pattern, often flying low enough to be next to the mini-ship’s railing. Kid watched her face as it went from shock and then to adoration as she met his gaze. He was pleased he found the confirmation he was looking for, that she loved it.
“Kid this is so beautiful, I’ll treasure it forever,” leaning in to kiss him passionately. “What is the song?” she asked when she finally pulled away from him.
“I don’t know. It was a song I remember hearing as a baby but I never heard it again. Can only remember the tune.”
Rowena cupped his face, her eyes twinkling. “You are so special to me, thank you for sharing that. I love you Kid.”
“I love you too Rowena,” he leaned into her touch. “Alright our first Christmas together! When’s your Yule?”
“Don’t be mad, it started a few days ago.”
Kid’s eyes widened, “why didn’t you say anything!?”
Rowena cradled the lulling music box to her lap. “I didn’t know how to bring it up? I don’t know how to do it without my coven…is it still valid if I do it completely alone? I haven’t wanted to think about it so I was content with letting it pass by.”
He frowned at her words, she sounded so lonely in her head sometimes and it irked him that she seemed to forget that he was Right There. He can get her anything she wants that she couldn’t get for herself, so why doesn’t she just fucking ask?
“You said y’all hunt game and make a feast, and you have a massive fire and rave party. I can do all that. Blessings? I’ll take any you wanna give me. Don’t hold yourself back because of us.”
Rowena smiled at him before taking his hand, “I appreciate that so much, I’m just not sure it would be the same without other Witches to help me with the ritual offering. It’s not just a sacrifice, it’s more nuanced than that. The point is to try and call –”
Kid gripped her knee before shutting her up with his mouth. “Tell me what you need and I will make it happen.”
Sighing, “ok yeah you can throw me a party for Yule and I’ll bless you, your crew and your ship. No ritual though, not safe here.”
Kid grinned, “I’ll find an island and dock there so we can do your ritual then, mark my words.” She nodded and he kissed her again. “Just wanna help my girl be her best self. Now, what’s so dangerous about sacrificing a pig.”
“It’s not the animal you’ve got to be concerned with. It’s the Sea Devil who will probably not be too happy to see you if He accepts the offering.”
Kid’s jaw dropped. “Sea…Devil? That’s a real thing?”
“Well yeah. Where did you think your power came from?”
“Th-the fruit I ate…”
“The Devil Fruit…Kid. Your power comes from the same place as mine. I’m just blessed with it.”
Sighing, “of course you are princess. And let me guess, legend lore bullshit et cetera, I’m cursed?” She nodded. “That’s the way she goes, ‘Ro. Always something or someone trying to fuck me up but fuck it and fuck Him. Do your thing – if He wants to fight me, He can confront me Himself.”
Rowena cuddled into him, “if He wants you, He’ll have to go through me first.”
“Augh your self-sacrificing attitude is so annoying!” he grunted out, turning his red face away.
“Yeah but you love me anyways,” she quipped; the music box song ended and she quickly rewound the lever. Clutching it to her chest, “And I love you. I will protect you the way you protect me, you’ll just have to deal with it.”
Kid rolled his eyes, “shut the fuck up,” he muttered as he stood up, gently placing her gift on the table. Rowena brought her drink to her mouth but before she could sip the last of it, a pile of snow was dumped over her head.
“EUSTASS KID!!!!”
The monstrous redhead was already dashing away, laughing triumphantly as he manipulated his metal shovel to drop another pile of snow over his Witch. Rowena gave chase, using her magic to vault snowballs at him, cursing his use of Observation Haki to dodge her throws.
He was so focused on his game of chase that he didn’t notice Killer making a massive snow boulder that he vaulted at the Captain. Kid fell backwards on the snow-covered deck in shock. Rowena and his crew took advantage of his dazed state, bombarding him with snowy projectiles. Killer tossed and caught a firm snowball in his gloved hand as he strode up to this long-time friend.
“Merry Christmas, you filthy animal,” the Massacre Soldier chuckled as he hurled the snowball with inhuman speed at Kid’s face.
Translations: Amorcito - sweetheart. Muta formam tuam ad voluntatem meam - glacialis lacrimis pulveris nivis - Change your form to my will - icy tears of snow dust

Azul for the character bingo
***Standard disclaimer: These are just my personal opinions of the character(s); regardless of what I may think of them, sharing my thoughts is NOT meant to offend or to shame anyone that thinks differently.***
***CONTENT WARNING: mentions and discussion of bullying!***
Tumblr media Tumblr media
This one’s going to be quite weird 😂 For those of you who may not know, Azul used to be my favorite character back when I first started Twisted Wonderland (JP) upon release. Since then, he has fallen from grace and now sits as one of my least favorite characters in the entire cast (which I know is a very controversial take; I’m well aware of Azul’s popularity both in the Japanese audience as well as in the international audience).
A huge part of the reason why I was initially drawn to Azul was because The Little Mermaid was basically the only Disney movie I had a strong connection with of the ones that the Great Seven were modeled after. I religiously watched that movie and its sequels as a kid. I collected sea creature plushies and listened to The Little Mermaid soundtracks to help lull me to sleep. I dreamed of being a mermaid when I grew up despite not being able to swim. The whole under-the-sea aesthetic enchanted me, and since the original movie didn’t characterize the eels too strongly, I of course gravitated to Azul, who is based on The Little Mermaid’s iconic villainess, Ursula. Little me had always preferred Ursula to Ariel anyway. I really adored her unique lavender skin, her seashell jewelry, her overdone makeup, and her fuller body (it was rare for me to see that kind of body type portrayed in media back then so the variety was great). It was also so cool seeing her tentacles move in the water and how they filled up the space on the screen???? Additionally, I found her to be one of the smarter and sassier Disney villains, which I really appreciated. AND THAT WHOLE THING ABOUT URSULA BEING KING TRITON’S BANISHED SISTER??????? Catch kid me slurping up lore and fan theories about that 😳
ANYWAY, THE POINT IS THAT I SIMPED FOR URSULA WHEN I WAS A LITTLE KID SO I WAS LIKE “okay I guess I’ll simp for anime Ursula now that I’m older” since I anticipated a lot of what I loved about Ursula to also be present for Azul. In the beginning, this was mostly true and I was loving every second of it. I absolutely adore it when a character uses their smarts instead of their strength to overtake their enemies and obstacles, and Azul was really serving that up in episode 3 (and later on, episode 4). He wasn’t exactly like Ursula, but the traits that Azul offered that were uniquely his happened to fall in line with what I usually enjoy, so I had no complaints. Azul was calm, cunning, and above all else, a force to be reckoned with, someone who was always way ahead of you and difficult to outsmart.
Then we got his backstory, and he completely lost me.
I’m sure that this shocks many of you, as Azul’s backstory is one that often garners him sympathy and empathy. I’m NOT saying that I’m apathetic to his situation; I actually empathize a lot with what he went through as someone who has been bullied myself and felt resentful toward those perpetuating the bullying... and I can totally understand why he’s trying so hard to invent a new, more confident identity for himself, but that doubt and insecurities still remain from his past trauma. It’s admirable how Azul didn’t let the bullying weigh him down; he instead used his negative emotions to motivate himself to study hard and get in shape. However, in the context of what Azul would later do with his intelligence and magical abilities, it leaves a foul taste in my mouth.
Truthfully, I dislike Azul’s backstory, and Azul by extension, for very VERY personal reasons. The implication is that Azul improved himself in part because he sought revenge against his bullies. He eventually does get what he wants, robbing his bullies of the traits that they were most proud of in exchange for “helping” them, and continues to run that shady business to this very day. So... what? It’s okay to be driven by spite? It’s okay to seek revenge against people who have wronged you? It’s okay to keep swindling others for personal benefit under the guise of altruism just because you were hurt in the past? I’m sorry, but I just cannot agree with any of that.
I realize that I may be viewing Azul’s backstory from a somewhat shallow perspective, but when I first read it, my gut reaction was to be hurt on a very personal level. Again, I’ve been in Azul’s exact situation before. I’ve even felt the same disdain toward my tormentors that Azul did, and I used the thought of revenge to fuel myself to excel academically to “prove them wrong”. That might have made me a good student, but it also made me very bitter and haughty for a period of time. I would later come to realize the error of my ways and worked even harder than I initially had to scrub away that hateful version of me and open myself up to others. To see Azul, someone very similar to me, be rewarded over and over for being truly awful makes me feel as though my own efforts to be a better person were somehow for naught. Like, that’s NOT how things work???? I look at Azul and I see what could have happened to me if I continued being resentful; I would have become someone just as bad, if not worse than, my bullies 😔 I’m NOT saying it was okay for them to have bullied Azul, but kids/teenagers are assholes and don’t realize the full extent of how their comments can hurt others in the long run; what is Azul’s excuse, especially when he is older and fully aware of the consequences of his actions?
Honestly, I probably wouldn’t be so offended by Azul’s backstory if I didn’t find myself relating to him so much... I still like seeing him engage with the other characters (particularly when he’s trying to butter them up), but as it stands, I cannot ever see Azul the same way that I initially did. He reads as someone that kid me would have looked up to as a role model, someone who could “stick it to the haters” and make all of his dreams come true at the same time, but now that I’m older I see just how detrimental that line of thinking can be.
I think that Azul works best when paired with good characters he can bounce off of (namely, contradictory characters or people who can push Azul’s buttons). This includes the twins and Jamil, who provoke Azul in their own ways. He’s forced into a vulnerable position with Jade and Floyd, who are aware of the past that he often tries to bury and could bring it up at any moment. Meanwhile, Azul dials up the charm and confidence to 11 when he’s with Jamil which 1) is fucking hilarious, especially with Jamil shutting Azul down while wearing a deadpan expression and 2) makes me think that he wants genuine companionship with someone he can relate to (even if he probably does intend on also using Jamil as an asset to his business if Jamil transfers to Octavinelle). I really feel like I’d like Azul a lot more if he just made more vested efforts to open up (but I understand that he’s not currently in a secure enough position with his identity and trust in others to actively pursue that).

Morganic Musings
20th November 1998 saw the 65th issue of Archie's Sonic the Hedgehog comic escape its continental cargo confines and reach the hands of Australian retailers. For us then-avid readers, it meant hopping on a bike after school to make that traditional end-of-month pledge over to the local newsagent, ready to swap a hard-earned $3.95 (and any extra loose change for an ice block when possible) for another enthralling escape to Mobius.
And yet it all felt different this time.
Tumblr media
In the aptly titled The Fellowship of the Rings, audiences were introduced to the story of Nate Morgan. Having cameoed in the previous issue (released here on 22nd October '98 for the curious), this humble human sheltered the battered Sonic and Tails into his isolated tundra abode, while giving that nuisance Ixis Naugus a well-deserved booting out. The small, seemingly insignificant old man would prove anything but, as the issue recounted his adventures and adversities over the decades; from creating and refining the Power Rings, serving as key member of Royal Acorn court, even establishing how the Lake of Rings operated while visiting the future Knothole Village and Freedom Fighters' underground HQ
The road from concept to completion for this character was far from easy, and for years looked as though he'd never see the light of day. Morgan's origins can be traced all the way back to early 1992 during DiC's initial development of their Sonic the Hedgehog cartoons, where he was depicted in their story bible as a 110 year old black human with flowing white beard living in Knothole. A former environmental advisor now proud Freedom Fighter, he was a friend to all animals, offering advice/support and boosting morale where he could with the occasional magic trick. Two rough sketches accompanied his profile, with the choice of tall or short designs.
By the time 1997 rolled around, a copy of that story bible and designs made their way into Archie's office. Having combed through its contents, editor Justin Gabrie decided the character deserved a second chance and ordered his inclusion in the comic. The task fell on newly-minted head writer Karl Bollers to breathe life into the character opting to go with the shorter model, which artist Patrick Spaziante imbued with his Midas touch. And lo, the old man was reborn a new old man.
I genuinely liked Nate Morgan (or as my younger self used to mispronounce him, "Mor-Gain". Hey, we all do stupid things from time to time) as a character. His appearance in the comic was something of a revelation, especially in a pre-Adventure era where the idea of other humans let alone a whole city of them living on Mobius was pretty farfetched. It added intriguing new layers to the series' lore, nor could I say no to another kindly father figure at a time when the likes of King Max and Locke were anything but. His backstory of seeking acceptance only to find hate and deception at every turn really touched a nerve, and was saddened to pick up and see his demise years later in issue 105's Touch of Evil.
Unfortunately that same hatred manifested in the real-world, and it felt more than a few times that I was the only person who cared.
How disheartening it was to boot up the 25.5kph modem, peruse the message groups and see fellow readers' reactions. Whether it be through dislike of change or some underlying racial prejudice (which he sadly was a target of more than once), fans certainly didn't hold back when voicing their displeasure over the character. A chaotic chorus which only grew as the millennium drew to a close; some hated his sudden importance to the history of Power Rings and the Acorn Kingdom, others thought he'd outright steal the spotlight from Uncle Chuck and Rotor as the residential techspert, the shameless self-insert of Karl Bollers (or Ken Penders depending on which fan you asked), and of course the ever-present decries of "Mr. Walking Plot Device". In that light, early Mina Mongoose fans got off lucky. It would be nice to see Nate Morgan resurrected or even reevaluated in some form or other in future media, but like the rest of the cast, this series had its time and its day. New ideas and characters have since stepped up to fill their void, even if it's quite the pickle finding a similar substitute for him.
But stranger things have happened. His appearance in the first place being the best one.

So one thing I tend to do with my WoL’s story is decide, usually late in the patches, when side content happens and who handles it; sometimes I determine a story happens all at once, sometimes spaced out. Like in Stormblood, WoL handles all of Omega while still in Gyr Abania before heading back to the Far East for 4.2 and 4.3, which is then when Ivalice, Four Lords, and Hildibrand happens while waiting on the MSQ between those patches. In Shadowbringers, Eden happened more or less as released, Bozja started in an early patch but got lumped together later on, same with Weapons.
I’m debating what to do about Pandaemonium and Aglaia now (and whatever our trials and relic content are), and some of it will ultimately depend on where those stories go and how we get there for the “when” but I was struck by an idea late at night and it sort of hinges on how I see gameplay versus story.
There are definitely some story elements that are given game mechanics; teleportation is one. The aetheric net is a thing in story, teleportation is a magic field of study and figures in to troop logistics, character travel, who can and cannot go places. It’s given space in the story as integral to the setting, as well as handy mechanically.
Then there are game mechanics that are given a story lampshade, a bandage to cover up a shaky transition or element that doesn’t really have a story reason, but there are other stories attached to it. The Ragnarok being “two places at once” post-Endwalker feels like this as it’s briefly mentioned then handwaved away and the point is really “we can’t cut off or stop using an entire endgame zone even though logically the characters would only be able to get there once so we’ll say ‘dynamis did it’ and have leveling and endgame content there.”
Same thing with a lot of Fates, dungeons, daily quests, side quests. It’s blatantly there as game content, sometimes has neat lore or ideas, but a lot of it is also just pretending to have story to excuse that gameplay element in the actual setting and story.
And Ultima Thule gets a better travel explanation than Elpis; there’s really no reason the WoL should be able to keep traveling there, either, except again, the devs aren’t going to cutoff an entire zone. But there’s really no mention of it, in the fishing quests, in the clan hunts, in the Panda quests—it’s just taken for granted WoL can go to this one very specific place and time still, whenever they want.
I love those zones and their content, but from a story angle, that bothers me. Not in a major way, but just enough to leave me dissatisfied and wondering how to handle it with my WoL. Hunts I can ignore; Fishing I can say she happened to grab a sample while there and brought it back or something if I really gotta, but Panda? I’m just not sure.
Then I remembered the scene with Cid’s goggles in ARR, and before that the back-and-forth in the 1.0 city intros, and the whole thing in Bozja’s opening where they solidified that as the Echo interacting with and affecting memories. The Panda quests are triggered by finding one of the Ancient memory crystals, sending a warning about a disaster that must be averted, in Pandaemonium. So what if, to study this crystal, the WoL is there to interact with it as someone who can understand those Ancient memories and the Echo lets her relive that person’s experiences? The disaster was handled in the past, by people already there—maybe even Azem and their allies, IDK. Elidibus’ memory of WoL in Elpis is easily sorted out as he was also there at the time, visiting or working on his own projects while shenanigans occurred, before he got into the mess at Pandaemonium. And in the present, WoL is trying to use the crystal and the Echo to learn what happened, reliving it in memory, rather than physically going back again by an undefined method. Maybe even learning something about Azem, Elidibus, and Lahabrea in the process.
I dunno. It’s a random 2am thought that won’t leave me alone. We’ll see where the raid story leads by the time the 6.4 patch rolls around sometime next year and how I feel about this then.

What is a PV version?
SO the PV!
Waaaaaay back when ML was first in production, they made a short promotional video to show the concept of the original ideas presented.
This was very early pre-production and many, MANY things changed before we got the Miraculous Ladybug we see today.
The PV was short 2D animation that showed off a lot of the characters and concepts. Like our Heroes, our Villain(s), the Kwami, the whole 'Magical Girl Action Show' vibe, etc.
Again, a lot of things changed between when the PV was made and when the show properly aired. This included a lot of how the lore worked, character personalities, their connection to each other, etc.
Now, one of the things from the PV that the fandom was interested in was Felix, the PV's Chat Noir.
While PV!Marinette (who the fans have come to call Bridgette to differentiate them) only got tweaks to her personality and is mostly the same character as the current Marinette, Felix and Adrien are so different that pretty much what happened was that they scrapped Felix as a character and made Adrien from scratch to fill his place.
However, people liked Felix. He was a bit colder and more aloof, and was a bit self-centered and only in this Hero thing because he needed something. Though he put on a much more Adrien-Like persona as Chat Noir, that was entirely just an act for him. Though we love Adrien, a lot of people were interested in Felix's potential.
Over the first two and a half seasons, the fandom kinda did as they wanted with Felix. Even the creators of the show were like 'eh you can have him go nuts'. Then eventually the series decided to take and retool him into the Felix we now have in Canon.
So when I say that Felix in my AU is 'more like the PV than Canon', I mean that his personality and character is a bit closer to what we got in the PV and from the Season 1-2 fan content than the Canon character we would eventually get in Season 3.

SPLATOON DLC!!!!! aarrggrurahrgh it makes me so excited that they're coming in wAVES!!!! i feel like there might be two more waves bc of the 4 in colours behind the words expansion pack and the 4 tapes under the wave 1 screen but idk that might just be me grasping at straws shkdjfgh wave 1!!! hOUHRUHGRHG INKOPOLIS PLAZAAA ;;;;;;;; i think it was really funny that the whole fandom lost their shit at the dlcs being announced n then after getting over the adrenaline collectively decided that wave 1 doesn't actually do shit shkjdfhg but honestly i like it! splatsville feels a bit big for me plus i never got to play splat1 that much so it's nice getting to see where it all started. also sQUID SISTERS PERFORMING AGAIN ;;;;; i Love that their city of colours instrumental didn't change but their singing clearly did, and they look older noww!! ;; and also their clothes do the glowy glow now too!!!! so happy for them -w- also ss is my fav idol group of the three (but the other two aren't far behind so it's not rlly significant jskjhdfg) so obv i'm excited to see them again ;;;; i hope that w bringing back the plaza they also bring back AT LEAST the arcade minigames and everything, bc it looks like the arcade machine is still present in the plaza (but i might be tripping so don't take my word for it :p
AND THEN WE HAVE SIDE ORDER ouruhrhghgh god idc if there was barely any info in that teaser but gOD was it pretty. the music box?? everything was so. Different. just the teaser itself felt like this Huge leap from the usual energy of splatoon in almost every aspect, colourless, slow, inquisitive. i'm hoping that the story is deeper w this dlc! maybe even make it feel like an rpg? idk but like, it'd be cool i think if they took the lore stuff in oe, the dialogue, the chat rooms, the Everything, and really tied it into the gameplay instead of making it feel like something you can always just check later if that makes sense? ough i am sO fucking excited for side order,, the music, the aesthetic, the story, the Everthing man aURUGHUGGH
NEXT MY CHILDHOOD BEST FRIEND KIRBY'S RTD DELUXE!!!!!!! AWOHHWHGOAWHGA i love kirby rtd ;;;;; it's my very first kirby game!! and one that i'd play over and over and over and over again. i'm so happy that it's getting remade for the switch ;;; absolutely looove the outline thing they did w the characters! i love that they kept the colours nice and bright and fun just like i remember! i'mm not sure yet how i feel about retconning king dedede's design hkdjfhg since rtd was my first game his design there is the one i'm used to n not his earlier design in kirby 64 crystal shards :p but yeah! i really like the merry magoland!! i played it a bit in the demo and it's a fun lil mario party minigame mountain feeling thing -w- aND THE MASK THING IS SO COOL??? U CAN WEAR THEM IN STORY MODE TOO!!!! i think it's really neat that they added the souvenirs to help you in ur playthrough n all that, and they added an easy mode w the magolor help thingy! i'm always a fan of people adding easy modes to games -w- (won't go too into that though bc i could be a whole nother post probably jkdhfgs) ooouhg n then there's the magolor epilogue!!!!! u get to play as the bastard!!!!!!!!!!!! he looks so pathetic n cute i'm sorry hkdjfhg i think it's really cool what they did! the whole upgrading thing n making it a bit more rpg-like which is new for kirby games afaik! oughh i'm really happy that they added new content ><
i nutted when i heard the gameboy advance startup sound sHKJDHGKJSHFDG that's like,, my very first nintendo console thingy ;-; specifically the advance sp! kinda hoping they add pokemon r/s in the future,, i think i might play m&l superstar saga after i finish bowser's inside story! :D
AND LAST BUT DEFINITELY NOT THE LEASTTT PROFESSOR LAYTON AND THE NEW WORLD OF STEEEAAAMMMMM AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I DIDN'T THINK THEY'D EVER MAKE ANOTHER PROFESSOR LAYTON GAME AGAIINNN ;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;; professor layton and the miracle mask was one of my very first games on the 3ds ;; the very first was scribblenauts that my dad got for me but when choosing my very own game professor layton miracle mask called to me and i am sO happy i picked that specific game up ;;; ahem. i know that the teaser gave basically No information but sTILL!!! HE'S ALIVE!!! ngl after katrielle layton flopped i thought they'd never continue the series kdjfhg kat layton didn't even feel like a part of the series it kinda just felt like a spinoff or smth. but he's here! he's alive!!! and i love that the One Background we see is so distinctly layton ;; it's making me think of specifically professor layton and the unwound future. ugh gOD i am so fucking excited to go through another crazy adventure. i remember playing through Every layton game and each and every one has some crazy batshit insane twist at the end and you can Never really figure out what's going to happen until the very end and i LOVE that!!! i remember finishing Azran legacy and feeling a lil bittersweet. i'd wish that i could play it all for the first time again. katrielle layton came around but that was a bit of a letdown ;-; i barely even remember anything from it anymore :p but god. GOD. professor layton new world of steam. FUCK man

Huntlow👀
OOOO this is gonna be fun..... despite my love for toh ive never rlly considered huntlow as a ship. thank u for the ask !!
who is more likely to hurt the other?
hunter is a fool (affectionate) w/ no social skills so there is NO way he has not unintentionally fucked up and had to spend the next 24 hours making it up to willow
who is emotionally stronger?
hunter would like to think it's him. it is not
who is physically stronger?
i'd say willow. hunter's got training and experience but willow's got her Cool Plant Magic behind her as well
who is more likely to break a bone?
they have both broken several bones over their lives and i will not accept any other answer
who knows best what to say to upset the other?
id say they both know each other well enough to know What buttons to push - it's just a matter of If and When
who is more likely to apologise first after an argument?
hunter swears he's never going to speak to willow again and then 20 minutes later he's writing a shitty text apology begging for her forgiveness
who treats who's wounds more often?
they are both chaos children who exasperatedly look after each other
who is in constant need of comfort?
hunter: i am a well adjusted individual. i was raised in the emperor's coven, for titan's sake! also hunter: today i told willow a joke and she only laughed for approximately two and a half seconds. i think she wants to break up with me gus, who has been listening to him cry for 15 minutes straight: yeah man. you better up your joke game
who gets more jealous?
idk if Jealous is the right word but hunter definitely strikes me as the type to be self-conscious abt his worth
who's more likely to walk out on the other?
we have seen on multiple occasions that hunter's response to Conflict is to Dip. HOWEVER i'd argue that w/ people he trusts (e.g. willow and the rest of the hexsquad) he'd be more willing to try and stick a hard situation through honestly
who will propose?
hot take: marriage is just One of Those Things hunter has never heard of being a ward of the local cult. willow proposes and he's like "haha cool. i dont know what this means"
who has the most difficult parents?
..... gestures at belos
who initiates hand-holding when they're out in public?
hm. we have seen that hunter has a Thing going on with his hands however we have not been given lore on WHY. therefore i propose: bumping shoulders. it seems like their vibe alternatively: willow would initiate handholding but always w/ the understanding that hunter could refuse
who comes up for the other all the time?
they are texting each other 24/7 idk what to tell you
who hogs the blankets?
theyre sitting on the couch watching a movie and willow is swaddled in like 3 different blankets and hunter is lowkey freezing but he refuses to steal even one because 1) he is Tough. and 2) willow looks so content <3
who gets more sad?
hmmm.... depends on the context. when willow is upset her emotions have always been rlly strong however i think all things considered she has a pretty good hold on them. she's also consciously trying to be positive through each day - on the other hand, hunter has been the Lord of Pessimism for years however bc of that being Sad has just become a Normal thing for him.
who is better at cheering the other up?
they're both good at it just in different ways. willow is good at offering genuine comfort and advice. hunter manages to comfort her because his attempt at comfort is just so laughably bad that it takes away from the pain
who's the one that playfully slaps the other all the time after they make silly jokes?
replace "silly jokes" with "fucked up fact / history presented as though it is normal" and willow is regularly reminding hunter that "hey being left at the top of a mountain isnt actually a healthy childhood experience"
who is more streetwise?
i think they're both streetwise in their own ways - hunter's been Trained in survival situations and other fucked up things in the emperor's coven. he knows how to look after himself after he escapes the coven. willow however - she didnt grow up with those experiences but she HAS been through a lot in her own right and she knows how to handle herself.
who is more wise?
willow 100%. she has common sense. hunter does not
who's the shyest?
hunter Thinks he's confident but when it comes to Emotions and Sappy Things (trademark) he is Not
who boasts about the other more?
hunter thinks his gf is the coolest witch alive
who sits on who's lap?
picture this: hunter laying w/ his head on willow's lap gazing up at her adoringly while she talks abt her latest class
