Summer pouts! This happens to her a lot XD She gets stuck managing the store while everyone else is in back doing Gunpla battle and having fun and saving the world through a children's multiplayer competitive action figure fighting game
The name of the store on her nametag is just a place holder for now. The roommate wants the store to have the name Solomon in it somewhere, but he's undecided on how exactly he wants the name to go. Personally, I want to keep it as "Solomon's [blank]," like Solomon's Art Supply or Solomon's Crafts or whatever, just because having her name tag read as "Solomon's Summer" feels nice and poetic to me and it makes me happy n_n

And you came in
“Class, we have a new student joining us. Her name is Y/n.” The teacher announced, gesturing to you. You stood at the front of the room, smiling awkwardly at everyone. “Y/n, hun, how about you take a seat over there?” She pointed to the only available seat.
It was a table with three chairs, and two boys were sitting next to each other, leaving the chair on the edge empty. The brunette nudged the blonde, who moved to the vacant seat. They watched you move to sit in the chair in between them.
“I’m Rory.” The blonde introduced himself, giving you a toothy grin with puppy dog eyes.
“And I’m Benny.” The brunette said, resting his head in the palm of his hand as he looked at you.
As the day went on, the boys found out that they each shared another class with you
Being the only people you really knew so far, you chose to sit next to them in those classes
They totally brag about that
“Have you guys seen the new girl yet?” Rory asked his friends excitedly as he sat down at the lunch table. Everyone except Benny looked at him confused.
“There’s a new girl?”
“Yeah, and she’s hot,” Benny responded. “She’s in our first period; the teacher sat her between us.”
“She’s in my art class and wanted to sit next to me because I was the only person she knew!”
“Same with me in math!”
“Is that her?” Sarah asked, discreetly pointing to the unfamiliar girl who was looking around the cafeteria. There were no empty tables for you to sit at, so you stood awkwardly, wondering where to go.
Rory waved his hand to get your attention, beckoning you over. He grinned at the relieved and excited look on your face when you recognized him.
“You can sit with us if you want, Y/n,” Rory said, patting the empty seat next to him, which you took graciously. Benny frowned, hiding his reaction by scratching his face. Rory introduced you to his friends, and when he was about to point to Benny, your face lit up in recognition.
“Benny, right?” You asked with a smile. He grinned and nodded, giddy that you remembered him.
Sarah, Ethan, and Erica looked at the three of you, both dreading and curious as to how this would all play out.
You quickly became friends with the whole gang
But you’re closest with Benny and Rory
They’re always trying to impress you, constantly battling for your attention
You had wanted to check out a local bookstore in Whitechapel for some time now. And Rory, who wasn’t busy and would spend time with you whenever he got the chance, asked if he could go with you. He almost started floating when you enthusiastically responded with a yes.
“Rory, you don’t have to carry all of my books.” You said, feeling a bit bad as you watched him carry around the growing stack of items. “I know it’s a lot.”
“Y/n, don’t be silly.” He said, looking at you with a shrug. “I wanna carry them. Besides, this is light work.” That surprised you, considering Rory had very skinny arms. Of course, you didn’t know about his vampire strength.
Or him being a vampire in general.
After purchasing, Rory carried your bags to a cafe you insisted on going to, wanting to buy him something as a thank you for spending over an hour in the small store and offering to hold everything you looked at. He didn’t object, wanting to spend as much time as possible with you.
“Benny?” You said in surprise as you and Rory entered the cafe. The brunette was standing by the counter waiting for his drink when he perked up at the sound of your voice.
“Hey!” He said with a big smile, focusing on you. Rory glared at him from beside you, but you didn’t notice. “What are you doing here?”
“Just exploring Whitechapel a bit. And I wanted to get something for Rory for being such a gentleman today.” You gently nudged Rory as you spoke, who giggled at the compliment and physical touch.
“She called me a gentleman.” The blonde said in a dreamy haze.
“Right…” Benny said, grabbing the drink he was waiting for. He stared at Rory for a few seconds before looking back at you. “You know, I know a lot of cool spots in town. If you’re free, I could show you around.”
“Yeah, that’d be great!” The response made Benny internally celebrate and Rory pout. “How about Saturday?”
“That’s good with me,” Benny said, now ready to leave the coffee shop. “I’ll see you later then, Y/n. Rory…”
“Benny…” You didn’t notice the staring contest between the two boys, too focused on the menu.
When you find out about the gang’s supernatural abilities, Benny and Rory’s secret competition amplifies

Call Rory
You had woken up later than usual, which threw you into a panic. You scrambled around, trying to get dressed and grab all of your things. Looking at the time, you realized you’d be late for school, even if you ran. So you picked up your phone and called Rory, hoping he’d pick up.
“Hello?” Rory answered your call after the first ring, not caring about seeming desperate to talk to you.
“Hey, Rory.”
“Hey, Y/n. Where are you?” He asked, looking around the school courtyard. “Are you okay?”
“Yeah, I’m fine. Just woke up late.” You grabbed your bag and ran out of your room. You were a bit flattered that he had noticed you weren’t at school yet and seemed concerned about it. “I was wondering if-”
“Need a ride?” Rory asked, cutting you off.
“If you don’t mind! I’d hate for you to go out of your way-”
“I’m here.” You walked out the front door, and sure enough, Rory was in your front yard. He hung up the phone and waved at you. “Ready?”
You nodded and ran up to him. Rory turned around, crouching enough for you to climb onto his back, wrapping your limbs tightly around him.
“Hang on.” He said, gripping your thighs before speeding off. The school that was a five-minute walk away appeared in front of you after a second. When you climbed off of him, Rory tucked some hair behind your ear that strayed away from the wind that blasted you on the way over.
“Thank you, Rory, you’re the best!” You kissed his cheek before grabbing his hand, missing his now bright red face. “Come on, let’s get to class.”
Benny loves using his magic to impress you
He gives you flowers “just because”
Need a spell or potion to fix some problem you’re having? Done
“How’s the cutest girl in Whitechapel doing?” Benny asked as he walked up to your locker, pulling out a small bouquet of your favorite flowers from behind his back.
“Aww!” You cooed, taking the flowers from Benny. “Thank you, Benny! I’m doing okay, just stressed about a test I have tomorrow.”
“You shouldn’t sweat it, Y/n. I bet you’ll ace it.”
“Yeah, hopefully.”

The next day, you sat next to Benny in math, clearly still stressed about the test you had at the end of the day.
“Guess you’re not feeling better about the test?” Benny said as he looked at you. You nodded, rubbing your tired eyes.
“I spent all night studying and feel like I can’t remember anything.”
“I might have something that can help,” Benny said, making you perk up. He fished around in his pocket, pulling out a necklace with a charm. When he handed it to you, you realized that it was a letter charm of your initial. “It’s enchanted. Supposed to make you lucky.”
You smiled, clipping the necklace on and fiddling with the chain. You held up the initial charm, letting it dangle in front of you.
“A literal good luck charm.” You said as you looked at it, before letting go of the necklace to hug Benny. “Benny, you’re amazing. Thank you!”
“Oh, it’s nothing,” Benny said shyly, hugging you back.

1) drawing like onono again and especiqlly just sketches was pain 2) if i had to only reference official arts, theres so little mens fashion in casuals i wouldbe exploded and given majority will be guys the end result wouldve been ribbons in a suit and everyone else in a basic tee and jacket 😭 so ill rework them & use general inspo for the casuals

I am now starting a little project drawing characters from each mother game, starting with the first one of course! Lil thought process below:
I had to scour thru a bunch of places online to find official art for them as yknow… their sprites are of the NES/famicom era lol
I kinda just picked and chose which original design elements I wanted to include for my drawing of each character, and took inspo from the art style used for the games and made up my own version of it :)
Ninten, Ana, Lloyd, and Teddy were easy to get art for as there’s a plethora of official guides and then the commercial. It was tougher when it came to Pippi, Queen Mary and Giegue. Pippi and Maria had a couple illustrations in some of the guides, but the only official art of giegue is just his sprite which is a little tough to discern details from, so I kinda just improvised from that (which made he realize he kinda looks like mewtwo here which wasn’t intentional I promise)
Next up is the mother 2/Earthbound characters!

Hi Raven! Have you seen the Disney 100 Jack birthday card art that has been circulating around yet? Any thoughts on the paintings? I think I remember you mentioning that the portraits would be good for figuring out what inspirations more ambiguous characters like Jack were twisted from.
The idea that the background frames for the new birthday series would reveal the explicit Disney reference for each TWST boy was popular fandom speculation when Platinum Suit Jamil was initially teased, NOT something actually ever confirmed, stated, or even implied by official TWST sources. Some people were also speculating that maybe the background frames were just the respective G7 of each boy's dormitory. We only had Jamil to go off of at the time, which didn't give us a lot of clear information since Jamil is both very clearly twisted from Jafar but is also in Scarabia, a dorm which has also has Jafar as its representative from the Great 7.
Then Platinum Jacket Ace came out in late September and seemed to continue the pattern of "the background shows one image that shows direct inspiration for the TWST boy"; there were heart card soldiers in one frame, which is what Ace seems to be twisted from. This made a lot of fans hype to finally get character inspiration confirmation for more ambiguous characters like Jack (which has been an ongoing debate in the fandom for years now).
***Spoilers for the main story, as well as Jack's Platinum Suit initial art + related discussion below the cut!***
... However, that ended up not being the case as soon as Jack's Platinum Suit card preview was released. Which brings us to today 😅 I think you see what the "issue" here is, right??? How can Jack, a wolf beastman, possibly be based on Rafiki, a baboon???
Mmmm, I don't have really anything to add regarding the actual frames? It is what it is, and though I will admit it got my hopes up when Jamil was first revealed, I also suspected it would be a long shot given how eclectic ("borrowing from many sources") some of the characters are.
I guess it was presumptuous for us to jump to a conclusion when we only knew about Jamil and even when we also knew about Ace; the problem is that two in a row doesn't make a pattern, just a coincidence. We need at least three to establish a pattern, and Jack here disrupts it. What we actually see here is that the frame to our left (the character's right) is likely just the painting the birthday boy chooses as a decoration for the Guest Room. (It is listed as “[Character’s] chosen painting” in Sam’s shop.) Alternatively, maybe some boys will have their character inspo if it is very clear (like how Jamil is twisted from Jafar) while the non-determinant characters like Ortho will get some other Disney character from the same film (ie Pain/Panic, the Fates, etc.) rather than a single specific inspo.
I think the TWST fandom is like... very fixated on picking ONE exact character that corresponds to each TWST boy just because the dorm leaders (ie the most iconic group in marketing) have clear inspirations. That expectation then gets extended to the rest of the cast, even though it's not true that everyone only takes inspiration from their own films--even the dorm leaders make references to and allude to various Disney properties. There's no harm in debating, having your own interpretation, or drawing parallels for fun, but it gets to a point where it's... fruitless??? To try to come to a firm conclusion on the subject.
It may be less contentious to accept that some of the cast are a blend of inspirations, ideas, and motifs. Even the more "concrete" characters can functionally serve in multiple different roles or as correlates to many different Disney characters. Azul is twisted from Ursula, but he is also able to be Jamil's "Genie in the Lamp" (a line which Jamil actually uses to refer to Azul) for book 4. Vil is twisted from the Evil Queen, but he is the hero Hercules when he sacrifices his youth to rescue Idia from Tartarus. At the same time, you could argue that Ortho (who is very Pinocchio-esque, going from robot to "real boy"), also has Hercules traits and Vil is serving as a dual role as Megara, the damsel in distress. (More on that in this post!)
None of the TWST characters are bound to one movie or to the characters they're supposedly based off of, and this works to the IP's advantage. It allows each character to feel like their own person, not just a copy of or a reinvention of one Disney counterpart.

hii i was wondering if you have any good resources or tips for y2k styled background patterns/elements? i wanted to look at stuff for some inspo but i've got a lot of trouble figuring out the right search terms and stuff to find specifically what i'm looking for... you're The Y2K Mutual in my head so i was hoping you might be able to help out? XP
YOU HAVE COME TO THE RIGHT MAN MY DEAR FRIEND
first off, in general when it comes to Y2K design research [and really any any historical aesthetic design from 1960s-present] i always love to point people towards the consumer aesthetics research institute
it is the most useful research on this subject you will probably ever find because it is VERY well organized, well researched, they're the ones that coin basically all the aesthetic names that the aesthetic fandom wiki uses, and at some point since the last time i checked the site they added a new search feature that lets you filter by relevant decade!
now for Y2K type shit you might be tempted to search for resources from "the 2000s", but the Y2K futurism aesthetic was actually already on its way out by 2003 [the decline officially started post-9/11] and many 2000s aesthetics are wayyyy more different than the Y2K futurism type visuals i specialize in. it's better to seek out things from the 90s, especially late 90s [1996-2000 is the general Peak Era for Y2K style design], but don't limit yourself to JUST the 90s! it's also extremely helpful to look at the decades that Inspired Y2K futurism, because the late 90s was nostalgic for the 60s and 70s, so a lot of design styles from those eras are useful to research too! i mean just look at space channel it is EXTREMELY 70s revival
Y2K futurism itself is its own distinct aesthetic style, but it's very connected in a web of other visual styles from the same era. plus, the term "Y2K" has been corrupted by bad SEO and people who don't know what they're talking about conflating it with mcbling, so just searching "Y2K" won't really net you anything very helpful. "Y2K futurism" or "cyber Y2K" are good search terms to start with!
besides just the classic Y2K style, here are some other similar/related styles that will help you branch out your research even further
disco deco [60s] *art deco revival combined with disco aesthetics. you can very clearly see its influence on Y2K when you look at a lot of the fonts; case in point bauhaus 93 AKA the homestar runner font
supergraphic ultramodern [60s] *very very influential on Y2K design trends especially with all the organic flowing shapes
corporate gen-X cyber [90s]
gen X soft club [90s]
metalheart [90s]
vectorheart [90s] ***my personal favorite and probably what you think of when you think of flat Y2K graphics and UI
ultramodern revival [90s] *revival of supergraphic ultramodern with Y2K flair
frutiger aero [00s] *USE AS INSP WITH CAUTION. this style sprung into being AFTER the Y2K style had already waned, but since history is more like a gradient than a checkerboard, very very early examples of frutiger aero overlap with Y2K and contain similar design elements. still, if you're going to look into it, try to stick to the earliest possible examples, especially since Later frutiger aero starts to look very apple minimalist in a way i can't stand
mcbling [00s] *same as above, WITH MORE ANGRY PASSION THIS TIME!!!! Y2K futurist fashion is WAY different from mcbling, but more casual everyday fashion styles from 1998-2003 are fairly similar/precursors to mcbling, but mcbling and Y2K are NOT the same and should NOT be conflated. mcbling's real popularity began After the death of Y2K, so they weren't exactly The Big Thing at the exact same time

Idk much about junji ito but his work is super cool and ive had this idea for a batim crossover in my head for a while ^_^
The original drawing is fanart by @/obj_SHEP on twitter!! I got the idea for this entirely from their art - i thought it was official since it’s redrawn and used for merch, tattoos etc so often but i didnt find out until after id almost finished so credit goes fully to the original artist for the redraw inspo!

haaai! this was requested by my friend @puppylamp , so i'm here for him!
first i look into the # tumblr layout tag on tumblr, looking for inspo and borders i could use for mine, when i have mine selected, i go to select for other thingys
like the pattern / image i will use and in case that i choose using a pattern a png the
theres the file (pls remind to put the size of the tumblr header before), i put the border i will use and accomodate it a bit
then, i do another layer, i fill the part i will put the stuff (i mean, up the border) with the bucket tool (thingy? idk how to call it in english
^ the color can be any, it doesn't matter really
attach a clipping layer to the color, put the pattern in it
there then, i put the png on also a clipping layer
i use the filter "trazo (exterior)" for doing the white (or any color outline)
then, you can put text in it or don't, that's up to ya
another subject, doing icons !

it's very easy! i swear, ya can look into overlay icons or just do a png with the outline thing, try to use official art when doing those!

This is such a sweet prompt! 85 is Long Live (Taylor's Version), which is such a magical option. Sorry I made you wait so long to write it!
"You did it!" Robin cried as she flung her arms around Steve.
"We did it," he corrected, holding her so close that the air between them disappeared. "You know I couldn't have made it without you."
As Robin pulled back, she leveled him with a disapproving stare. "That's not true, and you know it. I was merely moral support. Passing your classes? That was all you?" She reached up to fix the hat on her head and make sure the tassel was still on the correct side before flying off to share a moment with her cohort.
Steve easily let her go. He watched their excitement before turning himself and scanning the room for some of the other education majors. Technically they'd had a separate ceremony for their certificates, but since his primary major was History, he'd been able to walk officially for the Liberal Arts ceremony and therefore with Robin.
She was right that he'd made it himself, but he was right that he couldn't have done it alone.
They'd built a world together in their apartment, a place where they could hold out and be themselves in a city that four years ago had been a stranger they'd needed to defend against. Even though they both loved it now, Steve still thought about life with a bit of us vs them. Perhaps it was everything they'd been through. Perhaps it was that they'd spent this time with the two of them against others.
Whatever it was, Steve couldn't wait for the next steps. He couldn't wait to continue on their lives together.
He couldn't wait to see Robin fly.

Since Morenthal picked his dress with the explicit intent of smuggling tools and weapons past security at the ball, I thought it would be a fun exercise to design an entire ensemble with Rogue utility in mind.
I really like the design that Dan and Gamb came up with for Morenthal's official stream portrait, so my interpretation was mostly just additions and minor tweaks to what they gave us.
His dress-bodice comes almost directly from the stream art, with a little extra padding for insurance this lad gets stabbed a worrying amount. I wanted to change the pattern on the fabric to something with Wolfsbane blooms (his official garland-flower) in it but I couldn't figure out anything I liked, so I ended up using Gamb's dress-inspo picture as a starting point and colour-picked the purple palette from the Wolfsbane garland on his main portrait instead. It took me the entire Session 25 stream to render this top. Never again.
Since I wanted the dress to suit Morenthal's andro-masc bodyshape, and also be a little restrained to suit his role on Team Infiltration I decided to make the torso the feature piece and pair it with a flowy straight-skirt without many ostentatious frills or ruffles. As he was going to end up sneaking around (and maybe fighting), I tried to make the skirt exactly floor-length so that he would be at less risk of it catching on things, being stepped on or being used to tangle/pin his legs.
The long black gloves were partly inspired by @jaxpool's excellent costume sketches from Session 24. Since Morenthal planned on doing rogue nonsense, the name of the game was hiding things, so I adjusted them to let him smuggle lockpicks around without restricting the movement in his fingers. I also added matching black boots for even more hiding spaces, while designing a heel that he could still run, jump, climb and fight in. After Gamb said that Morenthal brought Little Guy's whistle with him, I figured Little Guy himself had to be tagging along somewhere. Drawing him hanging out in Morenthal's boot brought me an unreasonable amount of delight.
The gold earring is 100% straight from the design Gamb and Dan created. Since that set gold as his accessory colour, I added matching gold buckles to the boots and gloves. (That also let me add wrist/ankle straps for a more secure fit, which was on-theme for the form/fuction design sense).
The gold eyeshadow was one of my additions. Morenthal is pretty comfortable bucking gender conventions (Jax also gave him makeup in their version, and this is not the first time he's hopped into a dress on-stream) and I wanted to give him a little bit of face-glitz to continue the gold theme. Originally I experimented with some subtle eyeliner on his lower lids but that ended up closing off his eyes and really aging his face, so I changed gears and went with a shimmery upper-lid shadow instead. I think it looks pretty nice on him.

swear it took like 3 whole tries to get in the groove of how i wanted the lighting to be and so much rendering to be done this took a looong while but deffo worth it

whoever designed the Las Nevadas casino machines [you can see them in Purpled’s stream when he visits Las Nevadas for the first time] and also some of the posters in the intro of the lore Finale (i really wanna know who drew all that better yet clearer shots of each one)- those are in there too ^^
had creative liberties with the details for whwhw the sake of adding details like the rly obscure can ad logo

Fun fact actually ! drew the first sketch back in December wayyy before the applications for the zine were even a thing - so happy i was able to use it somewhere
sorta obvious choice the frame of the whole thing is gold copy of the design on the official Las Nevadas playing cards and Quackity’s stance as the king himself
interpret the thing however u want i personally like to think of the whole thing as a giant painting Purpled’s standing in front of -- that was a last minute decision cuz i thought it would be cool :>
the axe i designed myself which u can see first from THIS drawing i did for the 2021 secret santa
the stone heart has its own meaning in it’s own but additionally also a callback to THIS dapduo comic i did
same with the mushroom infested lungs [think of that what u will uvu]
them shrooms include: indigo milk caps, trametes versicolor (turkey tail!), amanita muscaria (the basic ass red and white one) and leucocoprinus birnbaumii
All in all two high ambition, high stakes compositions I’m SUPER proud of and very honoured to have dedicated it to such a wonderful project to a just as fantastic community :] <3
