destiny led me to you | loki
Tumblr media
pairing - loki laufeyson x female reader
synopsis - driven by the heartbreak of losing your entire world by the hands of thanos, you set out to find him, leaving destruction in your path in multiple universes; thus creating a horde of branches in the timeline and catching the attention of the TVA.
but you would do it all again if it meant you could see him once more.
notes - this is hopefully going to be a series, depending on the feedback i receive, i plan to follow the episodes only slightly because i dont want it to be an exact copy of the show.
[THIS WILL CONTAIN SPOILERS FOR LOKI SERIES]
idea credit ( @horrorisunknowntoyou ) thank you for the inspo and allowing me to run with it!
warnings - death, violence, angst, and possible smut (in later chapters?)
wc - 2.4k
MASTERLIST • AO3
"Dread it, run from it. Destiny arrives all the same." A wrinkled hand reaches for your chin, running prune colored fingers along your jawline, doting; mockingly.
Your heartbeat pulses loudly in your ears, eyes glazing over with exhaustion and pain as you attempt to glare, the notion in vain as the titan merely chuckled amusedly.
"I can see great power in you, little one. An infinity stone pulses beneath your every vein. Tell me, where is the tesseract?"
You remain silent.
"We don't have the tesseract, it was destroyed along with all of Asgard." Thor interjects weakly from where he lies, his body held tightly in the arms of the black order.
Guilt sweeps across your being as you make eye contact with Loki, sharing a single nod as you both know what you must do.
Thanos grows annoyed with your unwillingness to comply as he walks over with loud steps, his footprints visible as he raises his gauntlet up, the power stone shining threateningly close to Thor.
"The tesseract, or your brother's head. I assume you have a preference." It's not a question. Merely a statement, one that Loki knows he must prove unbothered.
"Oh, I do. Kill away." To anyone else it would seem he couldn't care less about his brother's demise, but you know your love better than he does himself and you catch the glance of fear that washes over cerulean eyes.
You can only watch in trepidation as the stone makes contact with the God's head. Agonized cries escaping as his skin is burned by the mere power of the stone.
Loki does his best to look unaffected, but you catch the hitch in his breath as he batters inner turmoil. the universe, or his brother.
"Alright, that's enough!"
Loki turns his palm up, as a familiar blue cube materializes in his hand. The eerie blue glow casting a shadow upon his face.
Thanos steps away, smug. You force yourself to look away from Thor's accusing gaze.
"You truly are the worst, brother." Thor shakes his head, eyes disappointed but not surprised.
As Thanos moves to take the stone from his hand cerulean blue eyes make contact with your own and you feel a wave of fear wash over you as you recognize the look in Loki's eyes.
"I assure you, brother. The sun will shine on us again." He does not move his gaze from your own and you can't help but feel this is an unspoken goodbye.
"Your optimism is misplaced, asgardian."
"Well, for one thing, I'm not asgardian. For another, we have a hulk."
In a blur of color you are shoved from where you lie, a slithe figure covering your own as you breathe in the familiar scent of cinnamon and leather.
"We don't have much time, my love. I just want you to know that I love you dearly, and I am grateful for the time I had with you. May I see you again, in Valhalla." His eyes are teary and you barely process his words, as his hands grab hold of your face and pull you into a kiss.
The kiss is desperate, filled with love and grief and you can only briefly kiss your love back as he steps closer to Thanos, rambling on about undying fidelity.
You catch a glimpse of silver behind his back and you gasp as realization sets in.
You move to reach him just as he leaps for Thanos, the knife poised for his head, frozen in mid air as the stones across his knuckles pulse.
"Undying fidelity, you should choose your words more wisely."
You cry out as Loki struggles in his grip, his skin fading blue. You crawl forward, legs aching as you reach for him, your progress hinged by your inability to walk.
"You will never be a god." The rasped words are followed by a snap as his neck gives out beneath Thanos' hands.
A tortured scream rings out and it takes you a second to realize it's your own. A broken sob leaves you as you crawl forward to reach where Thanos has carelessly thrown the body of your love.
You heave as your shaky fingers caress his face, his lifeless eyes staring ahead as you clutch him to your chest.
You rock back and forth knotting your fingers in his hair as you plead for the nightmare to end.
"No resurrections this time."
A portal opens and closes behind you, yet you make no motion to move.
You simply close your eyes and welcome the sweet release of death as the universe explodes around you.

"'Coordinates for search and rescue, on my way now.' I mean honestly, how-" Loki is promptly shut up by the mouth guard that decorates his face, courtesy of his brother.
Displeasure makes an appearance as Loki is led to the elevator followed by the avengers that quickly file in. The only source of entertainment being the temper tantrum the green beast throws as he is denied entry. Loki can hardly contain his glee as he waves mockingly as the doors close.
As he is led to the ground floor his cuffed hands clinking annoyingly with every step he glances wearily around himself, dreading the lecture that is sure to come once he reaches asgard. He has no doubt in his mind that Odin will find perfect reason to throw him to the wolves, lest his mother get involved.
As he contemplates, his attention is caught by the sound of his brother calling for help, the guards holding him, attending to what he perceives to be a heart attack, to none other than the man of metal.
He watches, confused as a small stature kicks the case holding the tesseract away from view as the others tend to Stark.
Looking around bemused he watches to see what will conspire next. Before any other move can be made a shout is heard as the doors to the staircase along with the wall is torn apart, the hulk making his distaste for the tedious activity known.
For once since meeting the beast he feels thankful, as the case holding the tesseract is knocked open, the familiar cube sliding towards his foot.
A beat passes and grabbing a hold of the familiar cube he glances around, vanishing in a thin cloud of blue.

T V A U N K N O W N
Hurried footsteps echo down the corridor as the man moves with barely contained excitement. Tie swinging to and fro, a slightly wrinkled hand pulls at the collar of his neck nervously.
Mobius had seen many variants in his time at the TVA. Yet, none had ever come close to interesting as the file he currently held in one hand. Variant L1130 or Loki, as he was called, was perhaps one of the most complicated cases he had come across.
Born as a legend of mythology it was quite unbelievable to know that not only was he real, but he happened to be in their custody for creating a new branch in the timeline. Mobius could only hope Renslayer would agree to allowing him to be the God's superior.
Entering the courtroom, Mobius sits down and watches with rapt attention as Loki attempts to bargain with Ravonna. His plans are foiled as he tries to call upon his magic in a last effort to escape.
Mobius feels it's time to intervene when Renslayer makes it clear he is to be executed.
"You have no idea what I am capable of!"
"Actually I might have an idea of what he is capable of." He offers as he makes his way up to the stand.
His plea must be written across his face as Ravonna leans over to look at him directly.
"Whatever you're planning, it's a bad idea." She warns.
Nonetheless she reluctantly lets him go and Mobius has to fight off the urge to fist pump the air as he escorts Loki down the hallway.
"Oh, I'm Agent Mobius by the way." He offers a hand that is quickly ignored.
He can practically see the distrust written on Loki's face, his eyes calculating every move he makes.
Mobius is hardly surprised that as soon as he enters the room, his back turned to the God as he adjusts his projector, Loki is surging forward to attack. He doesn't even bat an eyelash as he clicks a button on his remote, resetting the God as if the action never even happened.
"C'mon, let's take a look at some of your greatest hits." Mobius waves a hand, as Loki curiously sits down, eyes trained on the projector.
He finds himself staring back at a hologram of his attack on New York. His blue eyes darting back and forth with glee as chaos erupts around him.
A feeling of something akin to shame runs down his spine as he recalls his reign of terror on the city, an illusion of preying on the weak to hide his own fear, lest he fail and succumb to Thanos and his minions.
Loki clenches his jaw, arms crossing over his form in an attempt to hide himself as he turns to avoid the screen.
"I see no point in this-"
"No, no wait, this is just getting good." Mobius grins as he points to the screen and Loki finds himself once again face to face with another variation of himself.
He briefly recalls the time he had lost a bet to Thor and had to change his form into that of a ginger haired man wearing a clean three piece suit, claiming he had a bomb and required over two hundred thousand in midgardian money just to see if he could pull it off. He did, in fact, pull it off, but his mother was not happy as well as the midgardians who failed to solve the case, naming him D.B. Cooper as they had no clue as to his real identity.
His attention is pulled to the screen as a familiar voice of silk enters the scene and he watches as his mother speaks to his future self, his eyes drawn into her face.
"Then am I not your mother?" He hears her ask. Yes, you are.
"No. You are not." Loki's eyes start to mist as he watches the look of hurt pass over his mother's features before she schools her expression into one of contempt.
"Always so perceptive, about everyone but yourself." She decides.
The screen flickers and he sees himself talking to an intruder, his voice amused as he suggests the monster to take the stairs to the left.
Then, his mother, Frigga, lying on the cold ground, a puddle of red growing rapidly beneath her body as her eyes remained closed.
His breath hitches, anger now licking up his spine. He turns sharply to Mobius who smartly remains silent.
"What is this! Some cruel joke? Where is she?! Where do you have her?"
Mobius steps forward, expression neutral as he speaks.
"She's dead Loki. This is the future, it's destined to happen, again and again because that's how it should be."
Loki falters his eyes narrowing as he spits "You're lying! I'll kill you!"
"What? Like you killed your mother."
There's a split second of silence before an angered shout is heard, a chair splitting the air as it crashes into pieces along the floor.
Before anything else can be said Mobius is summoned by Hunter B-15, his eyes falling to Loki who remains silent and he leaves with a slight tinge of guilt burrowing in his chest at the haunted look in the God's eyes.
"You think yourself so sly don't you." Loki looks up at the unfamiliar voice as the projector suddenly comes to life, a new image flicking gently on screen. His eyes catch upon your form and he watches in awe and wonder as you sit beside his future self.
"I don't think, love. I know." He grins leaning in to steal a kiss from you that leaves you both breathless.
He watches as your eyes are filled with nothing but love and adoration for him as you lean into his side.
"Loki?"
"Yes, darling?"
"Do you believe in soulmates?"
Loki tilts his head in contemplation as he looks to you, before a soft grin pulls at his lips.
"I didn't until I met you. I know that no matter who or what tries to tear us apart, we will always find a way back to each other."
A smile breaks out onto your face and Loki watches in stunned silence as the clip ends with the two of your voices fading into laughter.
"You two are meant to be together."
Loki turns as Mobius slowly comes to a stop behind him, his expression thoughtful.
"I don't enjoy hurting people you know." He responds, motioning towards the screen in reference to his attack on New York and the death of his mother.
Mobius doesn't respond, and he takes that as a sign to continue.
"I do it because I have to. Because I've had to." He looks down as he fiddles with his fingers.
Mobius hums as he replies.
"Why? Why do you think that is?"
"It's part of the illusion. It's the cruel, elaborate trick conjured by the weak to inspire fear."
Realization lights up in Mobius' eyes as he answers back.
"A desperate play for control. You do know yourself."
"A villain." Loki sums up.
"Not the way I see it."
There's a mutual silence between them before Mobius sighs.
"Look I can't offer you salvation but I can offer you something better. A fugitive variant has been killing our minutemen."
"And let me guess, you need the God of Mischief to help you stop him."
"That's right."
"How could I possibly be of use to you?"
"That's the thing. The variant we are hunting, we believe is y/n." Mobius looks towards the projector where your image is still.
"I beg your pardon?"

Mutilated bodies line the floor as a hooded figure steps over them, eyes glowing an unnatural hue.
"Is it finished?"
"Yes."
A wicked laugh fills the empty space as a portal opens in the deserted land, a set of footsteps following through.
"I'm coming for you, my love."

Eda Clawthorne x Fem!Human Reader: Closets & Claim
Summary: Anon requested “I’ve greatly enjoyed your eda x fem reader stories. They are absolutely terrific! Do you mind making some more with eda being protective and assertive. And if u don’t do n*fw then maybe some slight n*fw”
A/N: Alright so, I broke my own rules here. This is smut. I won’t take any n*fw requests though because it’s not something I am typically comfortable with. Writing this was something I am only comfortable with sometimes. I was only okay with it this time because some people 👀 got my brain working yesterday and this was the result. You all know who you are.
Warning(s): Smut. Tasteful smut, but still smut. (I’ll leave asterisks before it in case you want to read everything except the saucy bits)
Tumblr media
Putting a smile on for the party was easy, knowing it made Luz happy. If you were honest with yourself, Hexside’s student appreciation event wasn’t even that bad, if a little stuffy. You couldn’t help but think of ways you and Eda could throw a party way better than this. But you wouldn’t. Luz wasn’t really one for huge parties anyway.
As you scanned the room for Eda, you felt a presence at your side. You turned to see a charming looking man holding a drink out to you.
“Oh, no thank you, I’m fine.” You said kindly.
“Please, I insist,” He said in a sickly sweet voice, “Can’t leave a beautiful lady empty-handed.”
Paying no attention to your tense body language or displeased expression, he forcefully wrapped your fingers around the glass he was holding. You pulled your hand away quickly. It didn’t take much for you to recognize what type of witch he was; a cheating husband looking for an ‘exotic’ human to show him a good time.
“So, what brings a fine human like you to an event like this?”
“My kid.” You said shortly, focusing your gaze on said child.
It warmed your heart to see the open, carefree expression on her face. She was pointing excitedly at a plaque with her name on it. You’d already taken multiple pictures of said plaque, even though it was supposed to go home with you at the end of the night. They’d been more for Camila than anyone else.
The woman had wanted more than anything to be there, but an emergency shift at the hospital had stopped that from happening. That and she wasn’t very comfortable with spending long amounts of time in the Boiling Isles yet. You couldn’t blame her, you’d been the same way in the beginning. And you couldn’t help but admire how much of her own discomfort she’d pushed aside to make Luz happy. Camila was a great mom.
After getting lost in your thoughts, you remembered the man standing next to you. He’d taken the time to run his mouth. You hadn’t heard one word of it and you didn’t need to. It was likely full of innuendos and suggestive comments.
You only gave him your attention when you felt his hand grip your wrist. Against all of your better judgement, your body froze up. It was then that you heard what he was saying loud and clear.
“Why don’t you and I just.. slip out of here for a few moments. We’ll be back before anyone notices.” He said, giving you a smile that made you feel sick.
“No.” You said, vibrating with anger, and a small amount of fear.
“Oh come on, don’t be like that.”
“Get your greasy hands off of me before I make you.”
“I might like that.” He said suggestively.
“The lady said no.”
Your head turned, relief filling you upon seeing Eda standing there. Her eyes were filled with anger at the man. His hand was still clamped around your wrist, making you shift uncomfortably.
“And who are you? Mind your own business.” He snapped.
Eda inhaled angrily, while you tensed. That was the wrong thing to say. You could see that Eda’s anger was dangerously close to boiling over and that the Owl beast could potentially come into play, but part of you didn’t care. All you cared about was getting away from him.
“It became my business when you decided you could touch my mate. Now scram, before I decide to give your wife a play-by-play of what just happened here.” Eda growled, using her free hand to place it on the man’s chest, shoving him back. It made him release his grip, to your relief.
You moved away from him, tucking yourself safely into Eda’s side. Her shoulders relaxed slightly as she wrapped her arm around your waist.
“But-”
“If you want to walk away with all of your limbs, I wouldn’t.” You warned, glaring at him.
He stopped, looking between you and Eda, trying to determine if it was worth it. You felt Eda’s hand clench around your waist. Giving him your best glare, you tried to warn him off. The last thing Luz needed was for one of her guardians to lose control at an event like this. Luckily, the witch took the hint.
Relief, and a little bit of amusement, flooded you as he stomped away. Seeing a grown man throw a tantrum was a funny sight. Overall though, you were glad that you didn’t have to deal with Eda transforming. She was getting better at controlling it, but with how angry she was, it would have been impossible this time. You didn’t want to add homicide to her list of crimes.
Looking up at your girlfriend, you saw her chest was heaving. She was doing everything she could to calm herself down. So she didn’t cause a scene.
“Eda, hey, look at me,” You said softly, moving directly in front of her so she couldn’t move anywhere else, “I’m okay. You fixed it, okay? He’s gone and he won’t touch me ever again.”
She nodded, but there still seemed to be something there, some feeling she couldn’t shake. You had no idea what was going on inside of her mind. So when she grabbed you and started to pull you out of the room, you felt extremely confused.
“Eda? Eda, where are we going?” You asked in a hushed tone.
You knew that you could pull away at any time, but you had no reason to. Eda would never do anything to hurt you. It was best to go along with what she had in mind.
***          ***           ***
The witch gave you no verbal answer. Instead, she found an empty hallway, her eyes searching frantically for something. You understood when she yanked open the door to a storage closet, shoving you in, and following you inside. Once the two of you were safely ensconced in it, she wasted no time in moving your clothing aside so she had free access to your body.
“Here? This is really irresponsible of us.” You said in a harsh whisper, trying not to pant against her hands roughly gripping your frame.
“I sealed it with the necessary spells, now just relax.” Eda said.
As her lips latched onto that sensitive part of your neck, you’d never been more grateful that Eda carried around pre-drawn runes. If not, you knew you’d be failing to hold back the noises you were making.
Her hands and the way she touched you was rougher than normal, more assertive. Normally, Eda took her time, making sure you felt loved while she left you thoroughly satiated. This was different. Animalistic. Her normal chuckles were replaced by snarls and growls as she left bite marks on your neck and down your chest. They almost drowned out the moans leaving your mouth as she rammed her fingers inside of you.
Your body jolted everytime she removed her digits, only to slam them back in. If you weren’t so used to her, you’d probably be hurting. But you were experienced enough to know that the hurt would come later. Walking was not going to be easy after this.
“Who do you belong to?” Eda asked in your ear.
Eda’s pace sped up after she asked the question. She could tell that you were nearly at the precipice, ready and eager to fall into the bliss she was building you up to. Your brain registered the question, but in-between all of your whining and moaning, you couldn’t form an answer. You were too caught up in the feeling of being thoroughly ravished.
“Who do you belong to, Y/N?” Eda asked again, growling this time.
Her pace had slowed, causing you to let out a desperate whine. You were almost there. She was keeping you from the one thing you wanted so much in this moment and it was killing you.
“Tell me who you belong to and I’ll let you finish.” She taunted, an animalistic grin on her features that made you clench.
“Y-You! I belong to you, Eda!” You whined out.
The noise turned into a choked shriek as she resumed her blistering pace from before, pounding into you at a rate that should have been impossible. You weren’t complaining though. The opposite, really. It was all you needed to fall over the edge, letting out an obscenely loud noise as the feelings overwhelmed you, making your body go stiff. The moment lasted for so long you feared you were going to black out, but eventually you went limp, held up by Eda’s strong arms.
Silence filled the room, marred only by your panting breaths against her neck. You felt sticky and sweaty, but thoroughly pleased with what had just occurred. Wordlessly, the two of you did your best to fix your clothing and hair.
“You’re such a good girl for me.” Eda said smugly, placing a kiss on your lips, before moving out of the closet. As the two of you moved back into the hallway and to a restroom to right yourselves, you were relieved to see that there were no people around.
Thank Titan those runes held up.

STEPHY GOT MORE LINES YAY GOOD FOR HER
also is this to show that Nini doesn't care about being the star of the show anymore? the way she's supporting everyone else even though she's a fork?
I would pay for a special of the full musical ngl

"I thought she just hog-tied him?"
don't ask sebby, it's better if you don't know.
imagine they spotlight the wrong person and this dude is just some random person that likes writing down stuff during shows.
Ms Jenn just let them do what they rehearsed (at some point we never saw) or else this is gonna end horribly wrong

Author Interview
Birthday Edition
Tagged by @callioope, thanks so much, my friend! (It’s only been nearly 2 months... *runs and hides*)
Name: Alli
Fandoms: Well, for posted works, in descending order from most works to fewest: four Original Work (poems), three Star Wars - All Media Types (which further break down into two Rogue One: A Star Wars Story (2016) and one Star Wars Legends: Jedi Apprentice Series - Jude Watson & Dave Wolverton), two Harry Potter - J. K. Rowling, and one each Last of the Mohicans (1992), Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles - All Media Types/TMNT (2007), The Shannara Chronicles (TV), The Silmarillion and other histories of Middle-Earth - J. R. R. Tolkien, and The Walking Dead (TV).
As for unpublished works, excluding those listed above, I have drafts and notes for stories in: A Song of Ice and Fire, Battlestar Galactica (2003), Beauty and the Beast (1987) (I’ve been obsessing over this particular fandom for months now), Doctor Who/Torchwood, Firefly, Lord of the Rings, Mad Max: Fury Road, Maleficent, Origin (YouTube), The Phantom of the Opera, Pirates of the Caribbean, and Tin Man (2007).
A few other fandoms I haven’t written for but have read and adore: Abhorsen/The Old Kingdom, Alice (SyFy), the Americans, Assassin’s Creed, Avatar: The Last Airbender, Being Human (UK), Buffy the Vampire Slayer, Chalice, City of Ember, the Expanse, Fringe, Hellboy, His Dark Materials, Howl’s Moving Castle, the Hunger Games, Jupiter Ascending, Killjoys, Lost in Space (Netflix), MCU/X-Men, Miss Fisher’s Murder Mysteries, Myst, the Old Guard, Persuasion, Pitch Black/Chronicles of Riddick, the Pretender, the Princess Bride, Pushing Daisies, Resident Evil (movies), Star Trek, Stardust, Stranger Things, Terminator, Underworld, V for Vendetta, Watchemen, Witch Hunter Robin, the X-Files.
Where you post: AO3 (if the format of the above list of posted fandoms didn’t give it away). I have some snippets here on tumblr from unfinished works that will hopefully make it to AO3 one day.
Most popular one-shot: I agonized over how to identify this: kudos, a ratio of kudos to hits? “Catch and Release” with 49 kudos since publishing a year ago today on my last birthday is definitely the most kudos I have ever received, but it has 693 hits. Whereas “I’ve Stumbled My Way Back”, which I published on the same day, has just 12 kudos but that’s with only 99 hits. It’s all relative anyway I suppose. Neither of them can really be called truly popular. Regardless, I’m proud of both of them, even if I’m not happy with the title of the first one.
Most popular multi-chapter fic: That is currently my only multi-chapter fic, Of Scrolls and Sleeping. It has gotten 8 kudos since I reposted it to AO3 in 2016. I originally wrote it in 2003 and posted it to the Sink into Your Eyes archive and the Astronomy Tower that same year. A Radiance That Travels will have more chapters at some point and already has more kudos, 43, in the year since I posted it.
Fic you were nervous to post: Pretty much everything I’ve ever posted. Trollbrain is the worst.
How you choose your titles: Usually I use song lyrics or “clever” wordplay that’s more pun than not, with varying degrees of success and satisfaction on my part.
Do you outline: Kind of, yes. I make a lot of notes on backstory and how I want things to go.
Complete: Complete is a relative term. I have 14 published works. I’d say 8 or 9 of them are complete.
In progress: In progress is also relative. I don’t really consider any of my unfinished works abandoned. I fully intend to finish them one day. When that day will be is anyone’s guess, despite my best intentions.
A Radiance That Travels is intended to be a multi-chapter work and more likely to be updated in the near future (I have a little over 1000 words of chapter two, but they need so much work and I haven’t touched it since April 2020). “I’ve Stumbled My Way Back” was initially supposed to be the first chapter in a longer work, but will more likely be the first work in a series of connected Shannara Chronicles one-shots. “Catch and Release” (I don’t really like this title) was going to be a scene in a longer Last of the Mohicans work but will also probably end up as one in a series of connected one-shots. 4 of my works are officially part of an Unfinished Tales series and are less likely to be completed anytime soon, but I am considering adding more unfinished works that are lower on my priority/interest list at this time.
As for unpublished works in progress, I have roughly 26 documents containing notes and snippets that correspond to the same number of potential works. Motivation is in short supply right now...
Coming soon: T_T Anything, please! I wish my motivation would return from the war...
Do you accept prompts: Well, I am a very slow writer and I hate disappointing people (ADHD/RSD) so I never ask for prompts, but if you don’t mind maybe never getting anything waiting, chat with me about ideas.
Upcoming story you are most excited to write: There is one in particular that @callioope and I started laying groundwork for early last year that I would love to work on. (Thank you for your patience with me.)
Tagging: @skitzofreak, @g-r-a-u, @okaynextcrisis, @weshallflyaway and anyone else who would like to do it! (No pressure!)

this is not my idea btw xD how would the bois react to us being a mythical creature headcannons?(Illy is gonna go feral i can tell omg)
I hope you've realised that you've released the beast.
And it wasn't your idea? That is a first ansnsnknh, also each boi will just have a specific one bc I'm lazy and incoherent and ill so yeet
Dark
At first he's just like "what the actual fuck?" but as he figures it out he's like "oh, so you're a mythical creature? Well, you're not so mythical now."
You met when he decided to go out on a walk once, and he saw a light and went towards it.
You were there, obviously, perched in the branch of a tree, and you both freeze upon seeing each other.
Next thing Dark knows, there's a talon around his torso and he's up in the air.
He takes a moment to figure out what you are, but when he does, he freaks out slightly, because oh fuck, he's midair, and probably about to fall to his death.
Not that it hasn't happened before.
When you realise that he's not even struggling, you stop, midair, and just hover there, staring at him in confusion.
He's not even scared?
You decide to fly down and just put him back down, and when you do, he's immediately circling you, curious.
"You're absolutely stunning."
And then you reveal to him that you're human, too.
He's taken aback, but not too much.
Consider him hooked.
For now, let just assume that you're a Phoenix, reborn from the ashes of those once lost.
He would understand that.
Dark would know what it's like to die and then come back again, right? Of course he would.
He finds comfort in knowing that he's not the only one who had to suffer something like that.
So. Much. Respect.
Seriously this boy has so much respect for you, and not just because you could incinerate him within seconds.
His body is kinda cold all the time, for reasons, and you're literally a loving heater so he probably cuddles you more often than not. Don't tell the others that, though.
He. Loves. Your. Wings.
If it weren't for the fact that they were too hot to touch, he'd run his hands through the feathers.
On the occasion that you do just decide to go full Phoenix, he's in awe.
Literally, you're a giant flaming bird, you're immortal, and you could set fire to anything at any given moment, if you wanted too.
He's even a little bit scared, though he knows you wouldn't hurt him.
He hopes.
Yancy
He'd always wondered why there was a giant block of the prison that nobody but Murderslaughter was allowed in.
So, one night he snuck in, only to be met by a torrent of water.
He dives behind a pillar, and then pokes his head out, to see two glowing eyes, burning blue, peering out at him from the dark.
And then he panics, because WHAT THE FUCK IS THAT?
Help him.
When he calms down, he looks out again, and slowly steps from behind the pillar, and forwards, into...water?
The following growl would scare the living daylights out of him, because he can't see a thing but the eyes, which are following his every movement.
He fumbles around for a light switch and finally finds one and turns it one.
The space illuminates, and yep, there you are. An absolutely furious Sea Serpent of some type, absolutely furious. Not to mention you're chained up.
Yancy freezes, and then you realise that oh shit he's not gonna hurt me
And so you calm down, and instead of growling, make a noise that sounds like soft clicking.
He sees the chains, and frowns, obviously confused, and sets to work on picking the locks that hold them in place.
You calmly watch him while he works, admittedly admiring him.
He's very cute
When the chains are finally loose, you shake them off, and curl around Yancy, looking into his eyes. He looks a bit scared, but then you're suddenly human, with your arms around him.
He's shook.
Help him.
He helps sneak you out of the prison, and then you come back every third Sunday for visitation.
He's in love. Help him.
The poor baby is absolutely smitten with you.
Please just kiss him.
And so you do.
You're both instantly deemed cutest couple by all the inmates.
You may or may not have decided to get arrested just so you could be with him all the time oops
He's honoured that such an amazing being like you would want to stay with him.
Sometimes you'll both sneak out of prison and you'll take him down to the nearest body of water, which is a very large and secluded lake.
He loves to just admire you while you play about in the water, chirping happily.
Let. Him. Stroke. Your. Scales.
It'll make him happy.
Illinois
He's on an adventure, the usual, but this time he'd ventured into a mountain range and he'd found a 'temple' type place.
Illy, being the idiot he is, went in, taking now notice of the scorch marks on the walls and floor.
Then he sees the diamond on a pedestal. He can't help but dive forwards to get it, and then a cage drops down on him, and a h u g e shadow covers the ground.
He can hear wing beats, but he's a little too scared to look.
Then there's a thump, as something hits the ground. Then the cage is being lifted. And then there's a hot gust of air around him, and he finally peeks, finding himself eye to eye with a dragon.
Well, fuck.
He kinda just stares, and you stare back.
Staring contest to assert dominance? Yup.
You win, obviously, and he hold the diamond out, admittedly too scared to try and keep it.
However, you're much more mesmerized by the guy in front of you.
Illy can't help but notice that your hide is littered with scars, and he assumes that other people have found you before, and obviously knew about you.
He scowls slightly at that, and risks moving closer. You jerk backwards, roaring, and he's on the ground, having stumbled backwards.
He's not one to give up though, and your eyes are way too human for you to just be a dragon. He tries again, this time mumbling that he won't hurt you, and you let him, watching his every move, barbed tail at the ready, and a blast of fire gathered, which is given away by the smoke leaking from the your bared teeth.
He keeps his word, though, and just looks at the scars, amazed.
Then he notices the skeleton in the corner of the room
No comment
He decides to hang about for a while and when you finally trust him enough, you let it be shown that, hey, he was right, you are too human just to be a dragon.
He's shocked, but instantly amazed.
"You are much more interesting than that diamond, Love."
Ah, he's flirting already.
It may be working.
Anyways, time skip.
You two are feral.
He's also pretty feral for you but that's for another time.
You've got sharp teeth and he loves that but shhh
He treats you like royalty, and you treat him like the most precious thing you've ever seen.
Which he is.
That may be the Dragon Instincts™ talking, though.
You. Go. On. Adventures. Together.
You can also fucking demolish anyone who tries to hurt you two on adventures too, so there's that.
In conclusion? Power duo.
Actor Mark
He kinda just...finds you on the manor grounds one day.
He knows a lot about mythology so he instantly figures out what you are.
What, exactly, are you?
A griffin.
The second you see him, you've got him pinned against the ground, sharp beak ready to tear him to shreds if need be.
The idiot isn't afraid, though, and he just reaches up and gently pets your feathers
You instantly just melt, and start cawing softly, which he finds adorable.
The caretaker comes across you two, and is a little bewildered to find that the resident Griffin is actually just a giant cat that craves attention.
Welp
You can bet that when h realises that you're strong enough to carry his weight, he'll want a ride.
Not. Like. That.
He just wants to see the world from above.
Seriously why would anyone say no?
He's absolutely ecstatic when he finds that you're human as well.
Cue him giving you all sorts of gifts.
You name it, he'll get it.
He knows that Griffins have a thing for hoarding things and he's all to happy to cater to that.
Even though you tell him not too.
He does it anyway.
Expect a lot of pampering.
He. Loves. You.
Love him, please.
First kiss? Probably after he gave you something a little too valuable.
At first you were a little annoyed but eventually you just gave in and kissed him senseless.
Gosh, I would do the same, if I could.
Wilford
I am running out of creatures ok.
He's just casually hopping dimensions, cause he can, and then he finds you.
At first he's like "is that a fucking fish??"
No, it's you! And you're a Siren, not a fish.
Well, half fish, half human, who can blame him.
You're sleeping and he's very lucky because if you aren't he might be dead by now.
And then the dumbass wakes you up.
Good going, Wil.
Your tail is quickly no longer a tail, and you've got him underwater before he can realise what's actually going on.
Cue Wilford pulling out his gun.
You shriek, and swim down before he can fire it.
Wil. You scared them.
You come back up soon enough, having decided that he's not worth the risk.
He's sat at the edge of the lake, and he sees you come up a few metres away
He waves, and you wave back to entertain him.
T i m e S k i p ?
You're now inseparable. Wilford literally forced the other egos to help him install a giant pool, as lake-like as possible, for you.
Obviously you're glad.
The others are a bit confused as to why Wil decided to just...date a Siren.
Singing him to sleep? Yes. Please.
Oh, the possibilities.
Damien
At this point I've run out of creatures so kaboom you're a Peryton, a Deer with the wings of a Bird
He's just walking out in the woods one night when he sees a deer, with two blobs on it's back.
He decides to go closer to check the deer out, and upon seeing you properly, he gasps.
This causes you to look at him, and freeze like a deer in headlights (ha!)
He edges closer, slowly, making soft clicking noises as he goes.
You continue to watch, sensing that he's got no malice about him, and let him come close enough.
He's got no idea what you are, but he's amazed anyways.
He reaches out and gently begins to pet your wings.
It's very nice.
Eventually he has to leave, but you don't want him too so bam, human time.
He's. Shook.
He doesn't know how to respond.
Congrats, you've broken him.
He decides to let you stay the night at his, though.
It takes him a while to get used to you but when he does, he becomes a bean.
Absolutely adorable, Damien is.
If he ever cooks food for you both, remind him that you physically cannot eat meat.
Please, he's trying his best.
God he's so soft.

One Piece Chapter 979 - Initial Thoughts
Tumblr media
Is anyone else nervous? I feel like we should be nervous...
After another week break we have One Piece, and I feel like these waits are gonna kill me before COVID gets close
But Spoilers for the Chapter, and Support the Official Release when it comes out
Another cover story bombshell, oh my fucking god! Just...How!? Pound you lucky son of a bitch how the fuck are you alive? The Will of P has not yet been snuffed out! Does that mean that Pedro and Pekoms may still have a chance at revival? What happened with Germa too, where is my Baeju!? Also the Tontottas finding him is gonna be hilarious, giant man and little people, hopefully we get a family reunion...and maybe some reverie news
Still very concerned about Law, he wasn’t cut from panel this time but he just looks very, solemn, like he’s about to do something he’s not all happy about
I find it odd that not everyone is clued in on Kanjuro being on Orochi’s side, sure it slows him down but even the people on the ships that were intercepting the scabbards were able to identify him as the traitor
Momo though has got some ideas, he knows how to use a sword but he’s only gonna be able to cut the rope before Kanjuro notices, I doubt he could even use it on Kaido. I dunno, Momo does not seem to be that kinda guy, also if he was able to control his DF he’d be able to escape those ropes much easier
We’ve got the Brachio Tank and Black Rhino back out, I liked the Fishman Island nod but this also means we’ll likely be getting Franky Shogun again, but Franky made note that there were upgrades so maybe it’ll be a new Iron Pirate/Super Armoured Me
Definitely laughed at the ‘He’s for sure gonna be spotted’ and ‘He’s for sure getting lost’ because it’s so painfully true. They have good intentions but they’ll sneak off, don’t be surprised if Zoro walks into the exact wrong room
Alas poor Sanji, you can’t get in the Harem Tank. Usopp does lowkey know how to be a ladykiller (though I doubt he thinks about it, he does have a doctor at home). But Carrot does work the Beast Pirates garb too, as does Robin...but as I said last chapter with Nami, you could put a paper bag on them and they’ll make it work.
Ooof, right in the Frobin there. We know what that was code for Franky, ride the back of your motorcycle you dog!
But Brook has to tickle my funny bone too by thinking it’s for him XD I guess the small victory here is that it reminds me of Grim Fandango; a giant beast that lives to build and upgrade riding a beast of a machine with a snarky skeleton at the back
Sanji still trying to get on the Tank though, he should really be using Stealth Black to find Luffy and Zoro, get a Monster Trio team up ¬u¬
But this does give Robin and Jimbei (whose Beast Pirates garb is cool but does nothing for being covert since it doesn’t cover his Sun Pirates tattoo at all) some time to chat, we’ve got a new formation as the Mature Duo, I would add Brook or Franky to that but the two do tend to do silly things from time to time
Someone is lurking though, which is a little worry, but I don’t think they’re enemies. I think if they were they would’ve jumped at the two at this point. Could be a scout, or it could be someone ready to throw another spanner in the system
Yup, I love Ulti, she tickles me with her dual personality. Also Sasaki’s cape is fire, kinda reminds me of Minato Namikaze from Naruto, I also think it’s a little telling that Who’s Who doesn’t have a cape or any long garment, it makes him stand out a little bit more
So King and Jack can now be accounted for, and the former is the one who summoned the Flying Six. It also seems clear that everyone knows that the Six want the Disasters’ spots
I will continue to add that Kaido keeps looking smaller and smaller, I mean, look at his debut panel
Tumblr media
he’s standing in a crater and he still dwarves Kid, Hawkins and Apoo, but in the panel he looks like he’s about 3 times taller than Drake (who is 2.3m tall, about 20cm taller than Kid), his scale just feels reduced
Also on heights, Black Maria is taller than King. That is a Giant Woman
Bao Huang makes me feel like Oda’s been playing some Legend of Zelda in his spare time, though I ain’t mad at it
The schedule seems a bit weird, Orochi has a speech after Kaido? I guess it’s just a welcoming address because Kaido will afterwards be announcing the Big Mom alliance
Kaido is keeping a secret, and that is actually quite intriguing...it also means that the Raid will not succeed for a while, since we are to expect to hear this Chekov Announcement
Kaido’s son is not seen, but we know his name: Yamato. It’s a very interesting name to choose actually; it can refer to simply the dominant ethnic group of Japan, the clan, the period, the province, the Yamato Dynasty prince Yamato Takeru, Yamato-damashiii, could even go Okama with Yamato Nadeshiko or even just the battleship. It could also be a corruption of Yamata, which connects to Yamata no Orochi
For my money, Yamato would be based off of Takeru. With some minor wikipedia research it does have some narrative notes that could fit being Kaido’s son, I doubt he would slay an older brother because Kaido calls him an ‘idiot son’, but Takeru’s father Emperor Keiko kept sending him to other provinces, I could see Kaido sending Yamato across Wano or the world to try and emulate Oden, the last man he respected. Takeru’s legend is also interesting because he gets the Kusanagi sword, which Susanoo fished from the Yamata no Orochi, there’s also a brief note of cross dressing and composing the first sedoka in the Kai province, which can tie in with the other Yamatos listed
Yamato must be strong though if the Flying Six see it as troublesome, Yamato could be the one hiding in the bushes behind Robin and Jimbei. Him being relative to the announcement makes me think that Kaido has an arranged marriage for him, since that’s how Big Mom does alliances, maybe it’s to Pudding, or Smoothie, or that bitch Flampe
Ulti again has no fucking fear, the steel balls of this woman. But Kaido knows when to dangle the carrot, Who’s Who definitely wants that All Star spot, which continues to add focus on him
LUFFY! How is it that you manage to get to the big ass crowd of people, and it’s not like Kid is hard to find, look for someone with a Metal Arm next to a guy who blurts out FAFAFA...and of course he almost gets his cover blown by some drunkard and gets distracted by food (his chest scar is back now though after disappearing last chapter)
Oh god...memories of sweet-baby Tama are found in the reflection of the spilled soup, the Beasts Pirates being clear about how they disregard and waste the food while others starve. I bet Zoro and Sanji would also react similarly in this state for their own other reasons, hell even Big Mom could have a word or two to say about it, she really enjoyed that soup
But when Luffy has that glare, few things are gonna stop him
So obviously, really good chapter. A lot of lines have been drawn in the sand and we’re eager to know what comes next. But as much as I am eager I am waiting for the main thing to go wrong. We’ve already split our Monster Trio, in fact the largest group of the crew are the Weakling Trio in the Brachio tank with Sanji who could disappear anywhere, Shinobu and Carrot, there’s still the uncertainty with Law as well.
I am keen to know more about Yamato (though I am a tad let down that Katakuri isn’t related to Kaido, only because I wanna see Katakuri again) and about the Flying Six, but it’s also gonna be a tough spot if Luffy causes a rumble right now, Apoo and Queen are in that area and BM’s crew, Orochi and the Numbers are all within earshot.
Alas, another week break, though when Oda made the announcement about COVID I kinda did expect it, I guess I’ll just have to toil about it in my own spare time XD But what’s important is that everyone stays safe, and an extra week can help with the fan theories.

Prove Me Wrong, Part Twenty-Nine: Rallied
Tumblr media
Series Summary:  Caithwistë, born from the only known pairing of an elf and a dwarf has spent most of her life in hiding. When an old friend, (or a certain meddling wizard) finds her in the woods, everything changes. Now, she will have the chance to prove the world wrong about her value. A ‘The Hobbit’ fanfiction based off of the following imagines from @imaginexhobbit: This One is the basis of the story, and This One and This One will be added in later. If you recognize it, it belongs to Professor Tolkien or Peter Jackson. But, as usual, the story and all of the mistakes are my own!
Prove Me Wrong - Masterlist
Warnings for this Chapter: angst, lots of violence, bit of fluff though!
Tagged: @imaginesreblogged @chevycastiel1967 @rices4me93 @tschrist1 If you want to be added just let me know!
The battle was more chaotic than anything Caithwistë had ever been part of. Dwarves, Elves and Men fought against the Orcs and Beasts and it was unclear who held the advantage. She charged forward to enter the fray and huffed in frustration when Thranduil’s Elk appeared, clearing the Orcs in front of her. She gave him a sidelong glance when he trotted back to her and Thranduil shrugged. “I could not allow an Orc to kill you, that honor is reserved for me.” He said with a sneer.
“Just make sure you stay alive Thranduil. I am going to have Dáin teach me better ways to insult you!” She quipped back, killing an Orc as it approached them.
Thranduil killed more on the other side of his Elk as he responded. “Good, you are in desperate need of practice half-breed if I am to be forced to tolerate your existence.” He said, dispatching one more before turning to her again. “Your lovers’ cousin is in the center and it appears that he may be in need of assistance.”
Caithwistë peered around the Elk and spotted him, surrounded by Orcs and swinging his hammer in vicious arc killing by the dozens. “Right, thank you.” She said to Thranduil and took off to help Dáin. She reached him just as he was trying to pull the sharp end of his hammer out of a Warg’s head and killed an Orc that had ran up behind him.
“Very good, Miss.” Dáin said, finally ripping his hammer free. “Now get down.” He said winding up to swing in her direction.
Caithwistë dove to the ground and heard the hammer connect with another Orc that had followed her. When the Orc fell, she scrambled to her feet and stood at Dáin’s back, working with him fight off the hordes.
“What is your name, Lass?” Dáin asked as they fought.
“Caithwistë.” She answered with a growl as she drove her blade into a charging Warg. “I have a favor to ask of you.” She said as she ripped the blade out and blocked an attack from the rider.
“I am at your service, Lady Caithwistë!” Dáin exclaimed cheerfully as he shifted both of them to face the opposite directions to kill the rider himself.
Caithwistë took a dagger from one of the fallen Orcs and threw it at another, killing it as it ran. “I need better insults for Thranduil. We are not exactly the closest of friends.” She explained and Dáin let out a bellowing laugh.
“Well, My Lady, you have certainly come to the right Dwarf then!” He said, still laughing. “I have a list, though it may take some time!”
“I believe we have enough!” Caithwistë said cheerfully.
That is how they spent the time, watching each other’s backs and Caithwistë laughing as Dáin provided multiple insults reserved specifically for the Elven King.
As they fought another group of Orcs moved to attack the City. The Men and Elves were forced to retreat back to Dale to protect the women and children, and the Dwarves were left to defend the Mountain alone. Caithwistë was growing weary, as was Dáin. “Thorin! Where’s Thorin? We need him. Where is he?” He cried out in frustration as his brothers began to fall.
Caithwistë frowned and shot a glance back to the still Mountain. ‘Thorin abandoned us’ she thought with grief. She had been so certain of him, that he could break free of his darkness. She felt herself being pulled back and she glanced at Dáin with a detached emptiness. “Fall back, Lass! To the Mountain!” He cried, shaking her.
Caithwistë nodded and followed him blindly, running with the rest of the Dwarves until they reached the gap between them and the barricade. Caithwistë turned, standing by Dáin’s side, and watched as the Orcs regrouped at the sound of a horn for their next attack. She took a calming breath and tightened her grip on her sword accepting her fate. “I’m sorry, I failed you.” She muttered, feeling the bitterness of lost hope taking hold of her.
Dáin turned at the words and glanced at the tight grip she held on her blade. He sighed and clapped her shoulder in a friendly manner. “I’ve no idea who you are Lass, but you’re a damn good warrior and I am happy to have you by my side.” He said, sounding oddly cheerful.
She gave him a half-hearted smile but froze when the sound of another horn rang in her ears, the deep tone seeming to make the earth around them tremble. “Thorin?” She gasped when she realized it came from the Mountain. She turned with the rest of those on the battlefield, eyes widening at the sight of a large golden bell crashing through the barricade. She held her breath as the dust cleared slowly, only releasing it at the sight of the Company charging through.
Thorin was leading them.
Caithwistë could not help but feel emboldened by the sight of Thorin, and the sound of the bell that had revealed him. “You were right Dâd. The bells are comforting.” She murmured with tears in her eyes as Thorin charged past them.
“To the King! To the King!” Dáin cried as he tore after the Company, hammer raised.
Caithwistë joined the battle cries as she ran after Thorin with rekindled hope spreading in her heart. Quickly, the battle resumed with new ferocity, but this time they were slicing through the ranks of the Orcs like butter, rallied by their King.
Caithwistë turned to block an attack she knew was coming from behind but Thorin suddenly appeared in front of her, having dispatched the Orc, and their blades met. They stood like that for a moment, frozen in shock until Thorin pushed her sword out of the way and grabbed her arm, pulling her to him and unceremoniously crashing his lips against hers. She was surprised, but quickly melted against him and returning the passion of their second kiss. There was no trace of the softness of their first. In its place there was desperation, laced with pain and fear but also conveying the fierce hope that not all was lost. They broke apart, breathless and she took him in. He had shed the crown and elegant robes. Her Thorin, the one she had fallen in love with now stood before her gazing at her with a confusing mixture of adoration and trepidation.
Caithwistë smiled at him, reaching up to place her hand on his cheek. “Thorin, it’s really you.” She said with tears in her eyes.
“Yes, Unalê.” He said, grabbing the back of her neck and pulling her forehead forward to touch his. “Caithwistë, I’m so…”
Caithwistë pulled away and grasped his arm tightly. “I don’t believe this is the right time for this, Thorin.”
Thorin frowned, but quickly glanced at the fighting around them and smiled bashfully. “Right.” He said, taking a step away. “I must find Dáin. Fight by my side?” He asked, holding his hand out to her.
Caithwistë took his hand and smiled at him affectionately. “Of course, My King.” Her smile shifted into a smirk as she added. “Besides, if I allow you to wander on your own you may lose your way.”
A wide grin spread on Thorin’s face and he laughed heartily. The sound made Caithwistë’s heart soar. Hand in hand, they turned and were abruptly met with the sight of Dáin staring at them, mouth hanging open. “What in Mahal’s beard was that?” Dáin asked with a raised eyebrow at Caithwistë. “You failed to mention that you’re being courted by my King.”
Caithwistë scratched her head, blushing. “It didn’t come up.” She said, making Thorin chuckle.
“Hey Cousin.” Dáin said, glancing at Thorin. “What took you so long?
Thorin simply laughed again and pulled Dáin forward into a tight hug.
“There’s too many of these buggers, Thorin. I hope you’ve got a plan.” Dáin said when they parted.
“Aye.” Thorin said, climbing onto an armored ram that Dwalin guided to them. He pulled Caithwistë up behind him and smirked at the bewildered Dáin as she wrapped her arms around him in a bold display of affection. “We’re going to take out their leader.” He said, turning serious again.
“Azog?” Dáin said in wonder.
“I’m going to kill that piece of filth.” Thorin growled, urging the ram forward to charge the hill where Azog was commanding his army.
“Lead on!” Dwalin called out from his own ram, Fili and Kili riding beside him.
Caithwistë eventually released her grip on Thorin and drew her bow as they rode, killing any Warg in their path. The ram easily took care of the rest of the Orcs until they reached the top of the hill. As they entered the destroyed watchtower, Caithwistë and Thorin both lept of the ram and began to kill the Orcs standing guard. Dwalin, Fili and Kili joined shortly after and it was not long before the guards had been dispatched and Thorin ran forward toward a frozen lake, looking at the empty spot where Azog had been.
“Where is he?” Fili asked quietly. “It looks empty. I think Azog has fled.”
Caithwistë glanced around, feeling uneasy. Azog would not abandon this fight so quickly.
“I don’t think so.” Thorin said, voicing her concern. She glanced up as Thorin turned to them. “Fili, take your brother. Scout out the towers. Keep low and out of sight. If you see something, report back, do not engage. Do you understand?” Thorin commanded and the brothers nodded.
“We have company. Goblin mercenaries. No more than a hundred.” Dwalin said raising his axe.
“We’ll take care of them.” Thorin said, nodding at Caithwistë.
Caithwistë drew her blade but could not shake her fear. “Thorin, I am going with them.” She suddenly announced, uncertain of what was drawing her to follow.
Thorin frowned but nodded. She turned to follow the brothers but was stopped by a tight grip on her arm. “No wait, before you go… I need to know. Your hand, how?” He asked, eyes flicking down to her wrapped hand.
Caithwistë glanced down at it and grimaced. She had forgotten about it in the chaos of the battle. “I believe you already know.” She said with an odd feeling of certainty, meeting his eyes again.
Thorin studied her eyes for a moment and nodded. “I do.” He said dreamily. He shook himself and glanced at the approaching goblins before releasing his grip on her. “Go now, hurry!”
Caithwistë gave him a wink and tore after the brothers. Together, they snuck quietly across the frozen lake toward a pathway that would lead them higher in. As they made their way through the winding pathway, they heard something clatter to the floor and Kili moved to charge forward but Fili pushed him back. “Stay here.” He told him and glanced at Caithwistë as well. “Search the lower levels. I’ve got this.”
Caithwistë frowned, but nodded and tugged Kili with her to the stairs that led below. Caithwistë instinctively stopped at an opening they crossed and glanced out. She would have a good view of both the tower and the area where Thorin and Dwalin were fighting the Goblin’s at this spot. “Keep going Kili, I will keep an eye out from here.” She said, encouraging him to keep moving.
Kili groaned but begrudgingly followed the order and continued through the path. Caithwistë watched him disappear and glanced back out, trying to gain her bearing. She did not have to wait long before she heard the beating of drums coming from the tower and she glanced up, feeling ice run through her veins.
Azog was walking slowly toward the edge, dragging someone at his side. He stopped and peered over the frozen lake and smiled menacingly, before holding his prize over the edge effortlessly.
“Fili, no.” She gasped in fear at the sight of the blonde Dwarf in Azog’s grasp. She drew her bow and reached into her quiver, but briefly hesitated as her fingers wrapped around the lone arrow. In the chaos, she had not been paying attention to how many she used. She pulled it out with a sick feeling in her stomach and nocked it, shaking as she looked back to the gathering of Orcs.
Azog was smiling in triumph when he began to speak. “This one dies first. Then the brother and the half-breed. Then you, Oakenshield. You will die last.” He said with malice.
Caithwistë drew the arrow back, weighing her options. In her carelessness, she was left with a single chance to save Fili. She took a deep breath and held it, steadying her aim. Even if she managed to kill Azog, Fili would still be in danger from the fall.
“Go. Run!” Fili screamed at all of them.
Caithwistë blanched as Azog drew his bladed arm back to strike. Without a second thought she released the tension on her bow, to the chorus of Fili’s name ringing out over the lake.

Author’s Note: It’s okay, say it. DarnLoveableCharacters is an arsehole. I get it because I am literally stopping it right there and am going to make y’all wait a week to learn their fates. 😐 I would even be tossing whatever device I was reading this on into a corner right now. I did warn a while ago that I enjoy cliffhangers and I think this may be the only one I’ve really tossed in so we have that going for us at least… right? Please don’t hate me too much but I definitely understand the cursing of my name...

Lies, lies, lying little beast Lying little man on the corner of the street Singing "Why, I can't come out to play Can't come out and say that I'm afraid of what they'll say"
-Run River North, "Lying Beast"
————————–
Then.
Stephanie walked purposefully down the dormitory hallway towards her destination, which she had learned of through Cass after the other had shockingly announced she was now… “involved” with someone and asked point-blank for her advice.  Steph had been surprised (not to mention maybe a tad jealous) that she had been granted visitation rights before her – especially when she herself wasn’t even sure if she had reached an official “dating” stage yet with her suitor- er, tutor (although they had undergone several “study sessions” together by this point) – but nevertheless was happy for her roommate.  …Besides, her profile’s “single” status would hopefully change today.
Checking her hair and outfit, she nervously fixed and fidgeted a little in front of the doorway, before taking a deep breath and knocking on the entry.  After a moment, it slowly creaked open a crack to reveal a rather confused-looking Tim.
“Steph?  What are you doing here?”
“Hey!  I just came to ask you something quick, if you’re not too busy.”  She beamed her best and brightest.
Tim’s eyes darted anxiously aside as he swallowed.
“Uh, now’s not really a great time…”
“Who’s that, Tim?  A friend of yours?”
Stephanie blinked as a stunningly beautiful woman unexpectedly emerged from behind Tim, ravishing red locks and coquettish lips smiling cordially.
“Ah, you must be Stephanie! Tim’s told me a lot about you.”
Steph’s gaze shifted suspiciously to Tim, who looked like his world had just come crashing down around him.
“…Has he now?”
The stranger grinned widely as she extended her slender palm, revealing twin rows of perfect pearl teeth.
“I’m Barbara Gordon. Pleasure to meet you.”
Tentatively, Steph took it.
“...Nice to meet you. Wait, ‘Gordon’ – as in the new Police Commissioner?”
The woman nodded.
“Bingo, you’re looking at her.”  Her voice abruptly took on an authoritative tone.  “I’m here on official police business, conducting a top-secret investigation.  You wouldn’t happen to have seen any suspicious individuals around, would you?”
“Babs,” Tim cut in sharply as Steph started to sweat and panic.  “That’s enough.  Quit frightening her.”  (Although rather than relieve her apprehension, it only increased further at such informal address.)
…On a first-name basis?
“Kidding, kidding. I’m giving a guest lecture on Criminology over in the West Wing.  Speaking of which,” Barbara glanced at her wristwatch, “I should probably get going. Class starts in 10 minutes.  I just came by to say ‘hi’ to Tim.”
She began to gather up her things, bustling out the exit with a wink to Tim on the way, who only winced and shrank further in response.
“I’ll leave you two kids alone.  Take care, Tim.  I’ll stop by again some other time.”
Steph watched her figure’s wake until it was gone, silently envying sophisticated style and… mature body shape as it sashayed away.
“She’s awfully pretty,” she mused aloud, suddenly feeling even more self-conscious.  “What exactly is your relationship with her?”
Don’t tell me he’s actually into older women.  There’s no way I can compete with that.
Tim rolled his eyes with a sigh.
“It’s not what you think. She’s like an older sister.”
“…Seriously?”
How strangely ‘convenient’ all his supposed ‘relatives’ seem to be gorgeous supermodels.
“Trust me, there’s nothing like that between us.”
She gauged his earnest expression, before accepting assurance.
“All right, I believe you.” Her smile returned as she relaxed. “In that case…”
She fished around in her pocket, pulling out two tickets she won at the Theta-Kapa-Gamma Harvest Festival last week.
“Ta da~!  Tickets to see the monster movie marathon at the old Monarch Theater on Saturday!  You are free, aren’t you?”
Tim blinked as she practically shoved the tiny pieces of perforated paper in his face, fanning gleefully in invitation.  Temptation.
“I am, but…”
He gulped, hesitating as he seemed to desperately search for an excuse.
“I’m… not really a fan of old films…”
He mumbled lamely, appearing extremely uneasy for some reason.
Oh crap.  Don’t tell me I screwed up again.
Steph’s confidence sank in disappointment, recalling how she had once enthusiastically tried to engage Tim in a spontaneous water pistol fight going on in the campus courtyard (despite the season being somewhat ill-suited for the sport), having snuck up on him whilst the victim was reading unawares underneath the shade of a nearby tree, hitting him with a lighthearted squirt.  He had sat there, stunned, as he stared at the childish toy weapon in her hand, before wiping his soaked cheek with the back of his sleeve.  Slamming his book shut, he stated with such startlingly quiet, intense anger it took her aback:
“I don’t like guns.”
…Before standing up and stalking off in silence.
Still, she had hoped this would make up for it, that it could be something they’d both enjoy, spend some real quality time doing together (besides studying anyway, which she was starting to get sick and tired of as tests approached).  Who didn’t care for a good old-fashioned camp scare around Halloween?  …Maybe he just needed to give it a chance.
“Hey, don’t knock it ‘till you’ve tried it.  Have you ever even seen Dracula or Frankenstein?”
He shook his head.
“Whaaat, you’re missing out on some classics!  Come on, it’ll be fun.  We’ve both been working so hard, we deserve a break.  Cass has a pair of passes too, so she and Conner are going to be there as well.  We can totes double together.”  (Incidentally, it had been a little odd how her partner had been so fortunate as to receive the exact same prize at the booth’s trivia guessing game right after her, but she’d learned not to question Cassandra’s keen – if sometimes creepily uncanny – sense of intuition.)
Tim bit his lip, but acquiesced at her pleading puppy eyes, which shone with eager stars of anticipation.
“…Okay.”
“Great!  It’s a date then.”  She exclaimed excitedly as she handed him his half of the voucher.
“A… date.”
He repeated robotically, surveying the stub as if in disbelief.
“I’ll see you on Saturday then.”
She waved as she skipped off, emboldened by sweet success.  In her jubilee, she accidentally ran straight into Conner as he coincidentally came round the corner, heading back to his room as well.
“Whoa, watch it there!”
He caught her just before she fell (unlike before, this sturdy target was obviously a lot harder to knock over), and she blushed a tinge as she felt his huge, strong arms wrap around her shoulder.
Man, what is it with me and bumping into hot guys recently?  …Not that I’m complaining, mind.
She wasn’t sure whether to be overjoyed or embarrassed by this recurring situation, but settled for leaning towards the former.  Conner, on the other hand, seemed a little less thrilled upon realizing the person in his grasp.
“Oh, it’s you. …Actually, good timing.  I want to talk to you about Tim.”
He raised her up, but kept a firm grip on her collar as he drew her back round the bend.  …It was almost a little painful, the amount of pressure his paw was putting on her petite stature.  His countenance was severely solemn as he stooped forward to meet her level.
“…Look, I’m just gonna come right out and say it so you don’t get the wrong idea.  Tim’s… ‘delicate’.  I mean, really delicate.”  He frowned, icy blue irises flaring dangerously as his dense, digging fingers deepened into the folds of her blouse, contracting and contacting to the bone.  “You need to watch what you say and do around him.  I swear, if you ever do anything intentionally to hurt him, I will never forgive you.  You got that?”
She recoiled, reasoning he was likely referring to the gun stunt.
Is he… making a genuine threat?
Steph was somewhat scared now as his shadow loomed over her, backing her against the wall.  She nodded meekly.
“U- understood.”
“Good.”
He released her, and she rubbed at the sore spot on her skin, wondering if it was going to leave a bruise. She was also starting to wonder what the heck Cass saw in this big dumb brute.  He was admittedly attractive, sure, but personality-wise he was Tim’s complete opposite: loud, brash, obnoxious – not to mention arrogant – basically your stereotypical jock.  And yet…
“You really care a lot about Tim, don’t you?”
Conner sniffed.  “Of course I do.  He’s my best friend.”
…’Friend’, huh?
The way he behaved seemed to go far beyond mere “friendship” though.  He was almost acting like an overprotective guardian.  …Or a possessive one.
“Could it be that you’re… jealous?”
“Me?  Jealous? Of you?”  Conner scoffed.  “Why on earth would I be jealous?  Just because you’re the one getting him to finally open up and trust you, participate in a bunch of social activities he never normally would, even though I’ve tried so hard to motivate him to be more outgoing over these past few years? To convince him to talk to me about his problems?  To be the kind of stupid-ass cliché you huma- people find so damn popular just so no one else would dare to mess with him?”
He laughed like a bark, though it sounded slightly strained.  Pained. Stephanie softened at such a display of devotion.
…Maybe he’s not such an oaf after all.
“For what it’s worth, I think you’ve done a lot more for him than you give yourself credit for.  I’m sure he appreciates having you as a pal.”
She cautioned a comforting pat on his broad muscle.
“Don’t worry, it’s not like I’m trying to steal him away from you or anything.  Besides, you’re doing the same thing for Cass, aren’t you? Trying to help her break out of her shell?  Heck, I’ve noticed she’s been a lot more vocal ever since you two started seeing each other.”
Conner rubbed the back of his neck awkwardly.
“You think?  I mean, I guess you could say that.  I dunno, it feels like I’m not really right for her…  She’s so serious and deep, and – and next to her I feel like a total doofus most of the time…”
Stephanie couldn’t help but sympathize.  They were a weird couple, to be sure, but then the same could easily be said about her and Tim.
“Hey, far be it from me to judge, but even if it doesn’t seem like you’re made for each other off the bat, I think you owe it to yourselves to try and explore those feelings at least. You never know, maybe it will work out.”
…It might’ve been her imagination, but the margins of his mouth seemed to twitch a bit at the word “made”.  He coughed as he replied contritely though.
“Thanks.  And, uh, sorry about being rough earlier.”
“It’s all right.”  She smirked.  “You were just defending your ‘delicate’ flower’s honor.”
A humiliated flush crept onto his visage.
“Oi, despite what you may have heard, it’s not like that.”
“It’s okay,” she giggled in understanding.  “I feel the same way about Cass.  …I suppose you could consider it even then?”
“Um… I suppose.”  He looked confounded by the straightforward confession, but shrugged, not wanting to think too hard about it anymore, lest things get overly complicated.  “So… We good then?”
She smiled.
“Yeah.  We’re good.”
When the weekend rolled around, Stephanie dragged Cassandra clothes shopping before the big day, insisting on doing her hair and makeup as well.  By the time they arrived at the cinema, the boys were already there waiting, checking their watches out in the cold.  While she sheepishly apologized on both behalves for being “fashionably late”, Steph figured it was worth it when she saw their slack jaws at how much fashion had transformed them.  The guys were dressed decently to impress as well, both sporting smart leather jackets (although Tim’s looked a size too big for him, and Conner still had on that ruddy black Superman T-shirt underneath that seemed like it came from a little kid’s closet).
She took the initiative in lining up with Tim to order snacks and soda, in the meantime telling the other two to go find four seats together.  Luckily they didn’t have to wait long, as there didn’t seem to be many customers despite it being a Saturday.  (To be fair those tickets were probably pretty cheap and undesirable to given away free at some college fest.) Although she kept chatting cheerfully to try and pass the time, her other company seemed even more uncomfortable than usual in the lightly crowded lobby, hardly able to carry a conversation – let alone the food – all the way to the viewing room.  She began to worry if this had been a mistake to bring him here, and prayed the darkness and drama onscreen would at least be able to distract him enough to loosen up a little.
Cass and Conner had saved them two seats near the edge, and she sidled in next to her girlfriend (for moral support) while Tim took the one closest to the aisle.  He kept glimpsing tensely around though, still just as jumpy as before.
“Hey, chill out a bit, will ya?  What’s wrong?”
“Nothing,” he muttered. “It’s just, in my experience, this is usually the part where the place catches fire, or some punks try to rob the box office, or…”
She stared at him, shaking her head.
“You fret too much.  Just try to relax and enjoy, okay?  Here, have some popcorn.”
He passed on the salted kernels though, and she pouted as she popped one in her mouth, chewing over whether she’d made the right decision after all. He looked almost claustrophobic, stressed.  In distress.
Things didn’t improve much as the motion picture started to play.  The first feature presentation in the lineup was indeed Frankenstein, and although Tim managed to remain relatively calm enough throughout the monochrome, monotone introduction, he started to stiffen at the famous “awakening” sequence.
“Quite a good scene, isn’t it? One man crazy, three very sane spectators.”
Out of the crook of her eye, Steph sensed her companion cringe every time there was a thunderclap, as lights flashed and machinery sparked with mounting electricity, while the movie madman merrily turned the wheel to “adjust the batteries”.  Together, he and his assistant unrolled the cloth covering the table to expose a humanlike form strapped to it, albeit with limbs limp and lifeless.  Tim’s claw clutched at his armrest as the stretcher was gradually lifted up through a hole in the ceiling towards the stormy sky, where pulses of galvanizing lightning presumably struck the subject repeatedly.
Stephanie divided concentration back and forth between the increasingly agitated boy beside her and the big screen in growing alarm as his breathing accelerated, gasping and wheezing audibly as he bent forward and put his hyperventilating head between his knees.  Cass and Conner were casting concerned looks as well, while other annoyed audience members revolved around and shushed to keep it down.  As her attention was arrested by the scientist maniacally screaming “It’s alive!” over and over again, she turned back one last time to ask if Tim was all right in a worried whisper – but there was no answer.
Tim was gone.

Ahhh just read the fic u reblog and i love it so here's another prompt: dorian thinks manon gets seriously injured in the battle with erawan and maeve and unleashes all of his magic in anger
YESSS!! I love this idea!
I used this prompt to cover a few little things I always wondered about. Also, I don’t know how to end things in an non-cheesy way. So, I hope you like it!!
***
It had been naïve. Naïve and foolish to hope that the valg would be simple soldiers just going through the motions to follow the orders of their evil king and princes. These former men were mindless, but they were still killing machines. Desperate to slaughter and rid the world of human, fae, witch… anyone who stood in their way. Dorian sucked in a ragged breath before pushing on to the next body in a never ending sea of enemies.
Chaol was somewhere nearby, but he had no idea what had become of Aelin and her cadre. And gods damn him, he refused to look up into the sky.
Blue blood rained down onto the field with a constancy that almost made him sick. The thought that any of it might belong to Manon pushed him towards the edge of a panic that seemed to feed from his magic. His magic, which had always protected her, with or without his intent, was growing ever more insistent.
Dorian allowed himself one quick scan of the sky, only one. Seeing nothing but a chaos of wings and teeth and talons, he returned to the valg, slicing one through the chest with Damaris. The Wild Men, living up to their reputations, had managed to clear a small area, giving him a moment to catch his breath. Dorian spotted Chaol and nudged his horse in his direction.
“I’m trying to decide if this is better or worse than your early morning training sessions,” Dorian said, wiping Damaris along his leg to clean off some of the filth.
Chaol laughed as he stretched in his saddle. “At least I let you take longer breaks,” he said, nodding to the valg charging towards them. Their brief respite was about to end.
As the enemy crashed into the Wild Men who still circled them, Dorian forgot his earlier pledge and glanced skyward. In the midst of the fighting, a pair of shimmering wings caught his eye and his heart stuttered. He was about to smile when out of nowhere, Abraxos was overtaken by an enormous wyvern. The giant beast’s talons grabbed hold of the smaller animal and threw him into the forest lining the battlefield.
A flash of red cloak and white hair fell with her mount.
“NOOOO!!”
Ignoring the oncoming valg, Chaol had followed Dorian’s eyes. Needing no explanation, he turned to Dorian and simply said, “Go!”
Without thought, Dorian shifted into a raven and sped towards the forest. There were valg everywhere, along with Erawan’s witches hovering just above the canopy. So many enemies converging on one point, as if Manon had been targeted.
She was the Witch Queen, and their hated enemy. It made sense for her to be a target. But as he watched more and more valg pour into the trees, he knew there was something else going on. And that’s when he sensed it.
Carried in by an ilken, Erawan dropped to the ground and strolled slowly into the pine trees, shouting directions to his soldiers to find the witch.
Unbidden, Maeve’s voice sounded in Dorian’s head.
Was she your intended queen? Or merely a prize breeding mare?
A dread more sickening than the bloody rain claimed him and he almost tumbled from the sky. Regaining his balance, he darted into the woods, only to realize he had no idea where she was in the thick forest. But as he blocked out the shouts of valg and screams of wyverns, a strange sensation filled him. Surrendering to it, he felt a pull to the left and followed it, letting his magic lead the way.
***
“Manon? Can you hear me?”
The raven’s small shape had given him an advantage in speed over the enemy. And when combined with his guiding magic, he’d found her quickly.
Abraxos had her hidden beneath a wing. As well as behind his lethal fangs and iron-spiked tail that swished through the air like a mountain cat. The moment he saw Dorian shift back to his human form, some of the tension in him eased. But not all. It still took some convincing before the wyvern revealed his unconscious rider.
An arrow jutted through her shoulder, another through her leg. Blue blood leaked from each wound and from her parted mouth. He had to fight the urge to grab her and flee. Not knowing how far she’d fallen, he decided it would be better to try and get her to move on her own.
Dorian brushed his hand softly against her face. “Witchling?”
Her chest rose and sank, but the movement was so slow, so slight, that he started to panic again. With the valg and Erawan combing the forest floor, and witches overhead, they didn’t have much time.
Just before he was about to give in and pick her up, Manon’s eyes opened. It took her a moment to recognize him, but after several blinks, she said, “Dorian? You survived Morath.”
The relief in her voice was no match to what he felt at seeing her golden eyes.
Smiling back tears, Dorian said, “Lucky for you that I did. Otherwise, I wouldn’t be here to rescue you.”
The words did their job and Manon frowned as she tried to push herself up.
“Hold on,” Dorian said. “The arrows.” Hoping to distract her from the pain, he spoke quickly and filled her in on who was combing the forest for her. But Manon barely winced as he broke the ends off the two arrows and pulled them out. As he searched for something to bind the wounds, he asked, “Can you get into the saddle?”
Before she could answer, Abraxos released a low, menacing growl. Men’s voices sounded from nearby.
Not men. Valg.
Abraxos crouched between them and a group of soldiers emerging from the trees.
The valg parted and Erawan walked out, ignoring the wyvern as his soldiers surrounded them. Dorian had half a thought to throw Manon on top of the wyvern and send them away. But some of the soldiers’ crossbows were pointed at Abraxos, precluding any hope of escape. Helping her walk, they moved out from behind the wyvern.
“Well, I was not expecting to find my predecessor here. But I am pleased. What with our unsettled business.” The creature grinned at Dorian. “It seems I have the opportunity to… what is it you humans say? Kill two birds with one stone?” His voice dripped with venom. When his foul stare fell on Manon, Erawan said, “Although I have no plans to kill you, my crowned rider.” His menace took on a disturbing, covetous edge that made Manon bare her iron teeth.
Dorian’s magic writhed within him, begging to be unleashed, but he tamped it down. After the creation of the lock, his well of power had a distinct bottom. He was already much to close to reaching it.
The valg around them crept closer while the wyverns above filled the sky. There truly was no way out. Erawan laughed as Dorian drew Damaris from its sheath. Manon pushed herself away and reached for Wind Cleaver with her good arm. She was unsteady on her injured leg, but through sheer will she stood straight.
“Whatever you came here for,” she said, “it won’t end the way you plan.” She glanced at Dorian, a promise in her gaze, and a plea for one in return.
She’d once told him she would kill him before they could put another valg collar around his neck. He’d been grateful then. But he’d also been resigned to the fact that he wasn’t worth saving. Dorian wasn’t so sure he felt that way anymore. Too many things had happened. To him, to them. He was probably being naïve again, but he wanted to live. He wanted her to live. Both of them, together.
Dorian looked to Erawan and said, “I made a mistake letting you survive the destruction of Morath.” The creature’s eyes narrowed and he clenched a fist, confirming what Dorian suspected. Even if Maeve told Erawan all that had happened in Morath, she wasn’t exactly trustworthy, and Dorian was someone the king would likely brush off as weak.
The valg king smiled again, making Dorian uneasy. “Are you infatuated with my witch? Stupid boy. Your betrothed will not be happy to hear that. Maeve was so looking forward to being your queen.”
Dorian winced at the sharp intake of breath beside him. Gods damn him.
“Oh, wasn’t she aware?” Erawan asked, reveling in their reactions.
Dorian didn’t dare turn to look at Manon. He could imagine the hurt and betrayal she felt, he didn’t need to see it.
Ignoring him, Manon addressed Erawan. “I’ll slit my own throat before you touch me.”
The conviction in her voice brought an end to Erawan’s enjoyment of this game. He looked between the two of them, frowning. “You truly prefer death then?”
Manon said nothing, her knuckles turning white where she gripped her sword.
Erawan growled, an otherworldy sound that sent a chill down Dorian’s spine. “So be it,” he said, slashing an empty hand through the air in Manon’s direction.
Dorian’s magic reacted, but not fast enough to keep her from being flung backwards against a tree. His entire body trembled as Erawan laughed and called for his men to take Dorian alive. But what Erawan mistook for fear became clear to the valg soldiers, who stopped short as they neared Dorian.
Rage.
Dorian pulsed with it. His magic roared with it, having always reacted most strongly to this emotion in its host. This time, he made no effort to contain it, had no care about a burn-out and all that might entail. Instead, Dorian let the raw power burst forth and take what it wanted. What he wanted.
A blast of air, followed by an ear-splitting boom, rushed through the woods, spreading out from him in a perfect circle and leaving nothing but death in its wake. Valg soldiers, witches and their mounts, even the trees couldn’t stand against it.
The last glimpse he had of Erawan was of the valg king’s sneer morphing to wide-eyed shock as he was thrown aside and impaled on a tree limb. With black blood oozing from his chest, Erawan stared in confusion at the King of Adarlan, unable to fathom what had just happened, unable to connect this power to the one that had brought down Morath. And before he had a chance to make sense of it, Damaris rang through the air and through his neck.
When the wave of magic crested, Dorian fell to his knees.
All was silent around him, and he wasn’t sure if it was because his ears were damaged from the blast, or if he’d killed every living thing in Erilea. A part of him, the part that remembered another severed head, hoped for the latter and wished he’d been taken too.
When the distant shouts and screams of battle drifted back, he slumped over, cursing himself for failing yet again. A gruff moan from behind caught his attention and Dorian turned.
Abraxos was nudging Manon with his snout, willing her to move. A tiny noise escaped her lips.
Too exhausted to stand, Dorian crawled, moving as quickly as he could. This time when he reached her, he wasn’t gentle. Blood seeped out from under her breastplate. He tore off her armor and leathers to reveal a gash in her abdomen. It crossed over the scar she’d received from her grandmother, though it appeared less severe. But, she’d found them off the Eyllwe coast long after that wound had been inflicted, giving it time to deteriorate into an infected mess. Maybe this one was worse.
Ripping strips of material from Manon’s shirt, he tried desperately to staunch the flow of blood, all the while remembering those first days after she’d arrived on the ship.
Rowan had led the healing, with assistance from Aelin, while Dorian had refused to take part. They thought he was too squeamish to help. On the face of it they were right. But the real reason he’d sat back was because he didn’t trust himself. His healing ability worked without a thought on his own injuries. But he was untested using it on others. Too unsure of his magic and too aware of the chance he might hurt her, he watched and learned. And wished he was the one saving her.
Now, even with the sense that his magic was incapable of harming her, he hesitated. But, there was no one else around. No time to find a healer. No time to worry about whether he even had any magic left.
Abraxos moaned again, louder and more desperate. A plea, to do something, anything.
Dorian brushed the tears from his eyes and then squeezed them shut. Gritting his teeth, he dipped down into himself, hoping against hope to find enough power to heal her.
There was a seed, a spark. Perhaps just enough to stabilize Manon in order to get her to a healer.
With his hands hovering over the slash, he directed his magic through little tugs and pulls. Phantom healing instruments instead of hands. The farther along he went, the more certain he became that the Matron’s attack had been worse. By the time he closed the wound and wiped away as much blood as he could, he felt confident she would live.
Only then did Dorian dare to touch her. Laying one hand over the wound and another over her heart, he poured what little magic he had left into her, unclear what it might actually do. There was no logical explanation for it. It just felt right.
When he felt the spark of magic snuff out, Dorian sat back, surprised to feel Abraxos against him, propping him up.
“Thank you,” Dorian said, the exhaustion of burn-out already closing over him.
They could hear the battle still raging, but neither he nor Abraxos looked away from Manon. Though it felt like hours, it was only a few minutes before her eyes slowly opened.
Sighing with relief, Dorian leaned over and kissed her. “Hello witchling.”
Manon smiled as Abraxos twisted his head under her hand, forcing her to rub his snout. When she realized it was the hand of her injured arm, and that it no longer hurt, she pushed herself up. Seeing Dorian’s state, she quickly surmised what he’d done. And just as he was about to fall over, she grabbed him and rested him gently on his back.
“Are you okay?” he asked, his voice gravelly and his eyes fluttering shut. He sighed again as she touched him, brushing the hair off his face.
“No, I’m not,” she replied. If she hadn’t kept her hand on his cheek, he would have been more worried about her bitter tone. “So. You’re betrothed?”
Dorian laughed, then pulled her hand over to kiss it. “Only to you,” he said, suddenly feeling as if he’d had a bottle or two of strong wine.
It must be the burn-out, he thought. Or did he say that out loud?
Manon didn’t sound amused. “What of Maeve?”
“Maeve?” The name was familiar. He couldn’t concentrate long enough to remember though.
“The female you are to marry?”
“Oh,” he said, as a flash of clarity hit him. “She’s a valg queen actually. And I took her powers after tricking her into helping me steal the wyrdkey.” He finally opened his eyes to find her staring at him, a quirk to her lips that made him grin. “She may have been under the impression that I was looking for a queen. But I made it clear to her before I left…”
Dorian didn’t finish the thought as sleep began to pull him under.
“Made it clear?” Manon prodded. “How?”
Just before he passed out, Dorian mumbled, “There is only one witch who will be my queen.”
***
Manon was glad he wasn’t able to see the smile that spread across her face. Erawan’s words had been a punch that landed closer than the valg king could have imagined. But as Dorian fell asleep in her lap, the pain of it was fading quickly. She’d make him explain in more detail later. For now, she was just relieved to have him here, alive and able to explain.
With one look from her, Abraxos was up and ready. Manon lifted Dorian and threw him over her shoulder. She’d have to find a way to get him through the battle and back to the castle. After strapping him in to the saddle, she collected their swords and her discarded armor. Settling in behind him, she examined her stomach and the new scar stretching across it. He’d healed her in mere minutes. After bringing down Erawan and his minions.
She turned her gaze back to Dorian, marveling over his power. And wondering how long she should make him suffer over his “betrothal”.
“A good long while,” she said, another smile forming. Abraxos huffed in agreement just before he bounded into the air.

FLIX FROM THE NET
Bird Box, 2018 (dir. Susanne Bier)
SPOILER WARNING THERE WILL BE SPOILERS DONT READ IF U HAVENT SEEN IT YET AND WANT TO
[TW: SUICIDE, MURDER, VIOLENCE, BLOOD, GORE]
well fuck its been a while!!  happy new year y’all hope u had a Fun and Safe time!!!  i for one was at a party where we started playing Shrek at exactly 10:39 PM to see if Smash Mouth’s hit song I’m a Believer started playing right at midnight and to my utter disbelief and elation it did!!!  move over times square ball drop a new arbitrary way of celebrating the start of a new calendar year is here and it involves a large green monster with a scottish accent who really loves his onions (#me am i right ladies)
WELL ANYWAY heres a fun new series ive been thinking of starting cause ya girl watches a lot of netflix movies and has many opinions about them.  i think i’ll do a separate post about the whole Netflix Original Film trend in general and how its changed the film industry at a later date but since i just watched the above movie not too long ago i wanted to get all my thoughts out there right fuckin now!!
netflix is without a doubt the OG king of streaming services, they were really the first to get the ball rolling and then dozens of other companies scrambled to latch onto this money train while it was rolling on the tracks full steam (or should i say.... stream EL;KGHS;EKFSH; please end me) ahead.  it started out as a rental subscription service where u could pick out three movies at a time to rent and then they were sent to u in the mail (like blockbuster but now you never have to leave your house ever again to get that sweet sweet rental content).  and then the decision was made to actually start online streaming, no physical DVD’s required!  ISNT TECHNOLOGY GREAT
well whoooo boy this shit swept the nation, people couldnt get enough of such a convenient and relatively affordable service and netflix started really raking in the dough.  and at some point they got rich enough to say “hey fuck it!!!  lets make our own movies baby!!!!”  and here we are now with Netflix Original Movies and TV Shows, which means a new player has entered the movie game in a very novel and innovative way.  why pay money for a movie ticket and leave your house to go to a theater when cool new movies are being released on a subscription service u already own to watch movies you already know and enjoy?  and then u can sit butt-ass naked in ur bedroom alone stuffing ur face with cheese puffs like an insatiable cheddar beast and see something new and fun and interesting
ok so.  Bird Box.  here we have a movie based off of a book (so i guess this also counts as a Book Movies review but I DIGRESS) starring hollywood powerhouse sandra bullock, featuring Supreme Lesbian Overlord Sarah Paulson and Resident Crazy Old Man John Malkovich, directed by a relatively unknown but competent female filmmaker Susanne Bier (who also directed Things We Lost in the Fire in 2007, a moving drama starring Halle Berry).  this one definitely has a lot of proimse compared to what netflix has offered so far in terms of their original movies (im gonna get into Dumplin’ at a later date cause jesus christ what a mess) and i went in with pretty high expectations
did it deliver???  well uuhhhh yeah sort of i guess!!  we got some pretty strong performances from our leading lady bullock who really does deliver it every time, a few strong supporting roles like newcomer Trevante Rhodes of Moonlight fame (his energy on screen is just so compelling and soothing), not overly obnoxious child actors which is really all u can ask for, and overall a solid story.
now heres where i gotta say that i couldnt help comparing this film to another movie of its kind, directed by the notorious M. Night Shyamalan.  y’all remember The Happening?  cause i remember The Happening.  i remember that it was total shit and that the twist was that it was the fucking plants making everyone kill themselves.  the PLANTS.  and i also remember mark wahlbergs dumb-ass confused face that he used in every single shot no matter the context, im AMAZED i remember zoe deschanel in this movie cause she may as well have been one of the killer plants with how little she emoted, and i remember mark wahlberg yelling at a fake office ficus and apparently i was supposed to be scared while watching this clusterfuck.
the way that this movie was described to me by friends who had seen it before me was basically that Bird Box is a slightly better The Happening, and no truer words have ever been spoken.  we basically have the same premise going on here:  unknown force is causing people to off themselves, our lead(s) have to try and find a way to escape this unknown force without even knowing what it really is, and theres some sort of “sanctuary” they gotta try and get to (which is a common plot point in really all apocalyptic and post-apocalyptic films).  now whereas The Happening’s rules for this scenario make entirely no fucking sense (how in the fuck are u supposed to be able to out-run WIND???), Bird Box has some rules for dealing with this Unknown Thing that make slightly more sense.  when u open ur eyes while outside, the chance of the Thing making u kill urself in some horrific way is extremely high, so wear a blindfold when ur outside and keep all windows covered when ur inside.  makes sense!  thats something i can believe and get behind which makes me more immersed in the story!
unfortunately like The Happening there are still some little things that kinda dont make much sense and take u out of it.  apparently some people when they see this unknown entity dont wanna die, but instead find it absolutely beautiful, which makes them want to make everyone else look at it to see how beautiful it is.  and its insinuated that these people are mentally ill or have some sort of psychiatric issue.  i get that this adds more stakes to the situation and ups the ante, but it doesnt really sit well with me that once again, mentally ill people are the villains in a horror-type story.  and i also dont really understand why theyd then wanna go around and make other people see the thing??  unless the thing has them in a mind-control state or something and is making them do its bidding but that seems kind of a weird thing for an all-powerful evil formless entity to do.
and that leads me to the next issue i have with Bird Box.  if ur gonna have an apocalyptic scenario where people do something as serious as kill themselves due to an unknown cause, it almost seems a little cliche and cheesy to have it be some sort of mythical celestial god-like or demon-like entity thats doing the damage.  i actually really liked where The Happening was going with its source of all the chaos being something naturally made, like the Earth deploying some sort of self-preservation mechanism or something.  the idea of that to me is actually loads more frightening than some invisible boogeyman that u cant look at.  and then Shamalamadingdong had to go and make it stupid by saying that it was fucking plants trying to kill people by releasing pheromones or some shit.  like why cant we have the best of both of these??  something naturally-occuring that maybe has even happened before in the planets history (maybe it wasnt a meteor that killed off the dinosaurs after all??), that isnt FUCKING PLANTS, and that doesnt do cheesy shit like make ur eyes turn grey and bloodshot and like whisper to u telling u to take ur blindfold off (i swear that happens multiple times it was pretty silly)
thats another thing, this movie’s tone is all over the place.  there are some moments where a more light-hearted tone is needed to break up the tension, for sure, but it almost as if the writing and dialogue werent really taking this serious of a story as seriously as they should have.  weirdly placed jokes are all over the place, there were some moments where the dialogue made me cringe cause it was so awkward.  bullock’s character gets to have some good breakdown moments which help bring the tone to the level of somberness and despair it should be at, but all the other supporting characters dont really get the same space to process whats happening to them, so it kinda comes off like they arent really affected by, say, their wife throwing herself into a burning car right in front of their very eyes.
overall i’d still say this is a worthwhile watch, especially considering its a netflix movie.  if you’ve ever wanted to see a not-as-horrible version of The Happening that has some deeper metaphorical stuff going on about motherhood and family and shit than this is for you.  the production value is overall pretty solid (though when it comes to cinematography i actually prefer The Happening from an artistic standpoint) and sandra bullock knocks it out of the park.  go check it out if this seems like something thats up ur alley!!
ok bye for now hopefully it doesnt take me six months to write another review but we’ll see!!  my brain is a mystery and time is an illusion HAPPY 20-BI-TEEN Y’ALL

My Reaction to the 9-13-2018 Nintendo Direct
Like I did with the E3 presentation, I plan on going through each individual game showcased here and posting my thoughts on each. Then I’ll summarize with my thoughts about the entire thing. So without further ado:
Luigi’s Mansion 3: Back from the dead, Luigi has sworn to destroy the monsters that were briefly his brothers. In all seriousness though, this game was completely unexpected and I think it looks great. I like the fact that it seems to be hotel setting this time.
Kirby’s Extra Epic Yarn: I did not own the original game, though I did play it and I loved how stress-free and charming it was. I might even get this one.
Mario and Luigi Bowser’s Inside Story: I’m a little salty they skipped Partners in Time. That one was one of my favorite Mario and Luigi games. This one looks good though, and I like the idea of a Bowser Jr. focused mode.
Luigi’s Mansion 3DS: I actually can’t wait for this one. I only very briefly played the original one, but I loved its creepy atmosphere and sometimes legitimately scary moments. I’m absolutely getting this version.
Yo-Kai Watch Blasters Moon Rabbit Crew: I actually got this game a little while ago on a whim, and while it hasn’t wowed me yet I also haven’t gotten super far. I’m still not 100% sure what Moon Rabbit Crew even IS yet, but if its a free update there’s no harm in getting it.
Splatoon 2 Ver. 4: I don’t play Splatoon anymore, so this trailer didn’t really mean anything to me, but I loved how they went full anime with it, and I absolutely adore the effort and creativity that Nintendo is putting into this franchise.
Mega Man 11: I’ll admit that I was never a fan of old-school Mega Man due to its difficulty (yes, I know. I’m the worst), but this was my first time seeing any footage of Mega Man 11 and I liked what I saw. I might need to try out the demo.
Mario Tennis Aces Ver. 2: I didn’t wind up getting this game, but I’m happy it’s getting tons of post-launch content. I just hope the Switch eventually gets a Mario Golf game with the same treatment.
Capcom Beat ‘Em Up Bundle: This is probably one of the highlights of this Direct for me. I did not grow up near an Arcade so I never played any of these games, but I was aware of a few of them. So this bundle will be my first time playing any of them and for $20 that’s a steal. I just hope there’s a physical release.
New Super Mario Bros. U Deluxe: I might skip this one since I prefer modern Mario games to the classic side scrollers (I know. I’m the worst.).
Katamri Damacy Reroll: Oh boy! I have never played a Katamari game, though I have always been aware of how delightfully bizarre they are. And now you’re telling me I get to play the original? Oh you better believe I am getting this.
Nintendo Switch Online: I’ve seen a lot of people upset by this and I get why, but this isn’t something Nintendo just sprung on us. They’ve made it very clear before the Switch even launched that a paid online service was coming just like what Xbox and Playstation have. So while it does suck that we have to pay for something that has been free for over a year now, the jaw-droppingly low price of $20 a year (I’m an unemployed student and even I can afford that!) and bonus NES games are enough to make me be alright with it.
Pokemon Let’s Go: Already got my copy pre-ordered (Amazon had a price error so I got it for $20 less), so Nintendo doesn’t need to sell me on this game, but I’m still excited for it. I don’t care how kiddy or easy it looks, the game looks absolutely charming and I love it! I do hope those Pikachu and Eevee Joycons are sold separately though, because I want them.
Diablo III Eternal Edition: I’m not a huge Diablo fan, so I don’t know if I’ll get this game, but I just want to bring everyone’s attention to the upbeat Nintendo Announcer saying “The Burning Hells”.
Super Mario Party: I’m getting this. I am making my friends play it with me. We will never speak again. It will be glorious.
Town: To quote the best character in Monster Prom: YAAAAAAAAAAASSSSSSS!!! I am a huge Pokemon fan, so Game Freak has my loyalty 100%. Especially after how addicting Pocket Card Jockey was. This trailer only showed us a little bit about the game, but I am already all in.
Cities Skylines: This game isn’t really the kind of game I usually go for but I’m happy for people who enjoy city simulators.
Daemon X Machina: This clip didn’t give us any info we didn’t already know from E3, but the game still looks great and I have every intention of getting it.
Yoshi’s Crafted World: I don’t know what Nintendo’s obsession with handicrafts is, but if it keeps resulting in charming, clever looking games like this, I hope it never stops.
Asmodee Digital Board Games: I’m all for digital board games, especially since they’ll likely be more affordable and less reliant on human deck-shuffling than regular board games. I would love to play Pandemic, but since that would probably work best online and since I refuse to use voice chat when playing online (see my above comments regarding my being the worst), I doubt that’ll work out well for me since Pandemic kind of requires a lot of coordination and strategy between players. That Munchkin Dungeon Crawler sounds great though!
Civilization VI: The only Civ game I played was Civ Revolution and I was absolutely enamored by it. I would love to play Civ VI on my Switch, since my PC is not even close to Civilization capable.
Starlink: I don’t know if I’ll get this game, but I do like the Star Fox content. I especially love Wolf’s voice in this trailer. It reminds me of Beast Wars’ Megatron.
The World Ends With You and Xenoblade DLC: My excitement for TWEWY dwindled considerably when I found out the game relies on touch and motion controls, but I still kind of want to get it. And the Xenoblade DLC looks great, but I need to get back in to Xenoblade.
Normies Showcase: Out of the third party games shown here, the only ones I feel like I NEED to get (and definitely on Switch) are Team Sonic Racing and LEGO DC Villains.
SO MANY FINAL FANTASIES: GOOD LORD. I’m not going to go through every single game shown here but... damn. Way to justify putting Cloud in Smash. And yes, I am very tempted to get all of them. Especially Crystal Chronicles.
Isabelle for Smash: AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA-
New Animal Crossing: AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA-
So in conclusion, I was very, very happy with today’s Direct. There were so many games that I wanted that I can hear my bank account actively weeping right now. If I have one complaint though, it would be the lack of information about Fire Emblem Three Houses. Nintendo has been so quiet about that game since announcing it that I’m beginning to think that all of us collectively imagined it at E3.
Jokes aside, I’m sure they’ll reveal more information soon, and we have plenty to tide us over until then! Now, to play Luigi’s Mansion Dark Moon until the 3DS version of the original comes out.

Twilight Princess [Maybe to Be Continued?]
Session One - May 29th, 2018
Ordon Village, The Twilight, Faron Woods(Twilight), Forest Temple, Kakariko Village(Twilight), Death Mountain, Goron Mines, Lanayru Province (Twilight)
Information Trash -
Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess is the thirteenth installment of the Zelda series. The game was originally going to be released on the GameCube in 2005 but ended up getting released the following year with the release of the Nintendo Wii in 2006; only the be released on the GameCube a month later. Ten years later; it was released in a high-definition version on the Nintendo Wii U, with the GameCube control style. Nearly nine million copies of the game were sold before Breath of the Wild had taken the title of best-selling title in a series in April 2018.
Session One - Session Two - Session Three - Session Four
Let’s Get Down to The Dirty -
Ever since the Christmas of 2010; when the Limited Edition Red Wii came out with Super Mario Bros., we also got it Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess. Since then; every year I seemed to spend a couple of days playing the game over again, and to see how long it takes for me to get through it. So, I am back at it again this year, and and I finally agree that I shall write a review for it because it seems like a good one to do the first review with. Not to mention it was the first Zelda game that I actually played from start to finish by myself.
So, I started the game up, since I was babysitting my younger sister who had injured herself over the weekend and couldn’t really go to school. It’s been awhile playing on the Wii because I’ve been playing like Stardew Valley and other things on the PS4 and computer so it was really weird to be swinging my arms around, but it was a good workout.
Twilight Princess takes place hundreds of years after Ocarina of Time; within an alternate timeline from The Wind Waker, which leads the game to be in the Child Timeline. But I am not even going to get into the Zelda timeline because that is a can of crap that I don’t want to even get into right now, but maybe later. You; the player, plays as the recurring protagonist; Link. A young Hylian male who is once again trying to save Hyrule from the threat of the mirror realm; the Twilight Realm. A very original idea, Nintendo, but it seems like you pretty much reused it for Link Between Worlds.
Like pretty much every other Zelda game; Link lives in a small village, with some very average life; and somehow knows how to wield a sword; among many other things; with or without and explanation on how he learned such things. Thank god it’s kind of assumed on how he learned it in this game. Ordon Village is as far south as you can get in Hyrule, and far enough away from Hyrule Castle that Link has never really been exposed to a whole lot of Hyrule. Not to mention he’s like the other able person to protect the village from dangers while working his day job as a rancher on a goat farm passed the mayor’s house. So, as the player; you get like 10-20 minutes into the game doing really boring shit; like herding goats, having to make children happy by spending your own money, then going off to save said children because apparently they don’t listen, but when do children ever do, before having to try and get your horse back from Link’s love interest; while during that scene of getting Epona back, that’s where all the shit goes wrong.  Literally; they pretty much put in a love interest for Link in every game, and the love interest is barely apart of the story and is never mentioned ever again. So, Nintendo is really trying for romance, but they are putting so much pointless crap that doesn’t need to be there. Which isn’t the shit that blows up in their face.
So, Bulblins come brushing into Ordon Spring; knocking out both Ilia and Link, and somehow getting only four children of the village; Beth, Talo, Malo, and Colin. Though how Beth, Talo, and Malo got taken is literally unknown to the player considering it was only Link, Ilia, and Colin at the Ordon Spring with Epona. Anyways, Link gets dragged through a dark wall that splits the Ordon Province from the Faron Province; being brought into the Realm of Twilight, which should have made him into a spirit that literally has no idea what is going on, but surprise, surprise, the Triforce of Courage influences Link by transforming him into a “beast” wolf. Now, Ordon is perfectly fine thanks to the Ordon Province Light Spirit; Ordona. How that Light Spirit is stronger than all the others is beyond me even.
Skip to Link waking up chained up in a prison. He’s more surprised then freaked out about what has happened to him; which makes this boy pretty laid back, more so than most people, which is very odd because anyone in Link’s situation would be having a clear heart attack or something. A few moments pass and here comes an imp-like chick; Minda. Who literally taunts Link until finally setting him free, only to really make him her minion. With Midna’s instructions; he takes her to someone to explain to him what in the world is going on. While the player already knows where Link is, and who he is going to meet; until right before he gets to meet the person; Midna tells him that they’re at Hyrule Castle. Literally pulling something out of a Disney Guide, Link breaks into a tower and goes into a room at the top to meet no other than Zelda. While Nintendo spent so much time building up this very scene, it was very anticlimactic all around. Link and Midna ditch Hyrule Castle as soon as the cutscene is done and with Minda’s little ability, they are taken to Ordon Province, right at the Ordon Spring where Link finally gets to talk to Ordona; telling him what he needs to do now.
Midna instructs Link that they need a sword and shield first before they head off to the Faron Province; meaning Link heads back to Ordon Village; due to the fact that the player knows that there’s, in fact, a sword and shield there. While doing some sneaking around to get these things; Link finds out that the children have been kidnapped as well; along with Colin’s father; Rusl, being injured while going to look for the children. Pretty much getting the things, Link heads to the border of the Ordon Province and Faron Province and goes through the wall once again to be brought back to the Realm of Twilight, only to pretty much to almost get his head chopped off by Midna; who has no clue how to wield and sword and shield or at least the shield bit. Link should have died much earlier than this by now, but he’s the hero of course; and he can’t die because he’s got the Triforce of Courage, that he had no clue about until Zelda told him.
The player pretty much heads straight for the Faron Spring, where you see a cloud of glowing dust over the water before meeting the Light Spirit; Faron, who asks Link to go find the Tears of Light to restore the Spirit from this state. These Tears of Light are being held by- I am literally just going to call them fireflies, but just deadlier and huge assholes. Once that is finished, Link is brought back to Faron Spring and changed back into a human; but in the Green Tunic of the Hero; the typical Link uniform. Faron points you in the direction of where you need to find what you are looking for, which Link has no clue since Midna literally doesn’t give out that information just yet about what they are looking for.
Welcome to your first dungeon; the famous Forest Temple. Which is pretty much the actual tutorial of the game. Since before; that was all really grunt work, and nothing was really other than just running around doing tasks, which is the game has a lot of if you’re willing to spend like a day in enjoy area getting everything. Something that I never do when I play this every year. Pretty much, the entire task of this dungeon is to collect monkey’s, that the game makes you think are assholes; but Talo is just an animal racist. The dungeon holds two mini-boss’ and one main boss; all of which are super easy, seeing as this is the tutorial. The item that you get from this dungeon is from the first mini-boss which is the King of the Monkey’s, you see him when you first get to the temple, he smacks his ass at you. The Gale Boomerang is something that you do use pretty much throughout the entire game; and of course, plays a huge part of the dungeon. The second mini-boss is right before the boss key, and is a pushover compared to the battle before it; thanks to the Gale Boomerang. Finally, you go to the boss.
Diababa is some weird looking creature that is in poison water. The thing is just terrible. With the Gale Boomerang and help from the Monkey King, you beat the boss with the legendary three hits rule and that entire dungeon takes about fifteen minutes tops; maybe twenty if it’s your first time through it. You get your heart piece along with a Fused Shadows, a piece of it, considering it’s been broken up into four pieces, Midna has one of them on her head. You learn a little bit more of it; that with they hold an ancient power that could help them fight Zant; the King of Twilight that started this entire mess. But they are across Hyrule and they need to find them.
With Faron Woods done and dealt with, it is time to head to the Eldin, after Faron tells Link that he’ll find the people that he is looking for. So, with that, they head off and entire the Realm of Twilight once again. On their way, Link finds a broke wooden sword; his old wooden sword that he had given to Talo. Sniffing it gives Link the scent of the children leading them to Kakariko Village, where Link meets the Light Spirit; Eldin, who also needs Link to gather it’s lost Tears of Light. While on the hunt; Link comes across spirits and finds that it’s the children, but no Ilia. Who is not mentioned, literally, you seriously don’t hear anything about Ilia for a while, or does anyone make mention of her.
While the rest of the children are scared, the only person who really is calm is Colin; who tells the others that Link is coming to save them, he knows it. Link is obviously touched by this, because he’s right there listening, and it kind of motivates the player to continue of this task just because of the sake for Colin. Collect the light, and once back as Link, the children see him and come running, all so happy to see them. Renado; the shaman of the village, who has been taking care of the children with his daughter; Luda, fills Link in on what has been happening. The Gorons’ had a sudden change in behavior and that Death Mountain seems very different. Link attempts to head up to check it out, but gets knocked back down, when returning to the village, Link runs into Renado; who tells him that the mayor of Ordon Village; Bo, has challenged the Gorons’ before and won, earning their respect. But right before Link starts to head back to Ordon Village, Epona comes rushing down the road from the other way and Link is finally back together with his horse, making the trip back to Ordon much easier and quicker.
Link learns how to sumo fight, which is pretty cool to bring Japanese culture into the game, but it is a Japanese game, but that’s beside the point. Once after defeating the mayor during the second round, he deems you right to fight, while giving you a little gift of the Iron Boots, to keep Link on his feet. Return to Death Mountain and start the climb to the top. While there, the mountain is erupting like crazy, making it pretty hard to dodge falling rocks and keep from getting knocked down by Gorons’. Finally to the top, Link ends up getting challenged by Elder Gor Coron. Once through that fight, then you learn of what is going on. The Gorons’ have been keeping watch over the Fused Shadows piece for generations now, and with the mountain acting up, they went to investigate, which lead to the Goron Tribe Patriarch; Darbus to be cursed and go on a rampage, so they locked him up deep in the mines.
Now with access to the Goron Mines; the player heads down to the second dungeon of the entire game. Which is literally just fire and lava everywhere. How Gorons’ mine from this, is literally a mystery because there are millions of safety concerns that they don’t seem to be bothered about at all. With this boss key, you have to go and find the other Goron Elders that are all holding a piece of the key. Along the way, you use the Iron Boots, and obtain the Bow and Arrows with a mini-boss fight with this huge Goron that is protecting the item is of the previous hero. With both, the player spends the rest of the dungeon with those items collecting the key pieces from Gor Amoto, Gor Ebizo, and Gor Liggs. Finally with the key put back together you go down to fight Darbus, who has been transformed into the Twilit Igniter Fyrus. This boss has to be one of the easiest out of the entire game, considering it’s just making him fall and go whack his head. The Forest Temple boss was easy as well, just more time-consuming.
With that out of the way, pick up Bombs first before heading to the Lanayru Province. Trying to get to the spring is a bit of hassle considering the player has to jump off a bridge because there is a time limit before Link is burned alive thanks to asshole enemies. Jumping down towards Lake Hylia and realizing that there is practically no water, but thankfully landing into the water that is left is a god sent. Link kind of wanders around until finally figuring out how to get to the spring and start on collecting to Tears of Light for Lanayru. While this takes you to Castle Town because Link finds Ilia’s leg pouch and followed the scent back to a bar, where she is seen worrying over a Zora boy.
Quick backstory on this boy; he’s actually the Zora Prince, who was coming to the castle to tell Zelda about what has happened in Zora’s Domain since they were attacked by evil people as well. You meet this Prince’s mother after you help Eldin; telling you that her son is out there and if Link could please find him seeing as she was publicly killed in front of all the Zora’s.
Now, after that little moment, Link heads up to Zora’s Domain, where it is freezing for some reason. Going further up, and still not seeing at Zora’s, they reach the throne room where they look down to see that all the Zora’s are trapped in ice. Midna warps something from Death Mountain that had fallen on your way up there to deal with the Fused Shadows. Freeing the Zora’s just in time too, because they probably would have died. Noticing that there is a mark missing, before it magically pops up on the map back at the lake, getting back down there quickly thanks to the fast current of water after defrosting the Domain. Que boss music; literally to close off this segment of the game; you fight this huge, gross bug and finally finish collecting Tears of Light, that you never have to do again for the rest of the game.
Link learns about the Fused Shadows from Lanayru, stuff that Midna would never tell him due to mainly being ashamed of her past, of her tribe, but she doesn’t really mention it until much later in the game, but she does hint at it a little bit after each time finishing a dungeon.
With that done, Link has to head back to Kakariko Village to go sell his bombs to get water bombs or the player can figure out how to get more bomb bags, though personally you only really need two since, in the entire game, you really only need regular bombs and water bombs. Then return to Castle Town to reunite with Ilia… Who has no clue who you are and is very worried about the Zora boy; which brings Link to escort Telma; the bar owner, Ilia and the Zora Prince. This had to be one of the worst things to do besides collecting all the Tears of Light. I was more than glad that it was only once that I had to do this because you had to focus on some many things to do that it was overwhelming and you want to throw your controls at the tv. After that mess was dealt with, you get the Zora Armor as thanks.
With this, Link can finally head to the Lakebed Temple and get the final Fused Shadows.
But this was where I decided to end the first session considering was I just relaxed with just having those parts behind considering I knew that I was about to be in store for a lot more hurt when I picked the game back up again the next day, which doesn’t help with jerky controls, but then again, the batteries were dying in the Wii remote, so that was partly at fault.

Who Won E3?
Nintendo for sure!
youtube
Why? Because Nintendo had the most gaming videos showcasing actual video game footage and not just CGI for its games. E3 is too often lacking actual game play in its video game showings and Xbox, PlayStation, and all the major 3rd Party Publishers are guilty of force feeding people hype through massive and crazy CGI trailers but lacking any actual proof the games are any good.
For Example: Watch Dogs...
One of the most famous epic fails in the video game industry due to massive media over-hype due to great CGI trailers. Ubisoft actually said that the game play shown in the Watch Dogs E3 during the days of the Wii U was “actual game play” and that got everyone excited. It looked so cool to see Aiden fight using CToS to stop criminals like a high tech ninja. But the problem was obvious when the game was released and it was a gigantic BORE!
The E3 showing might as well been a CGI trailer because not only was it not like the final game it also looked completely different. Much worse even on PC. So, that is the major problem with E3. Even after the showing what you are going to get is literally left up to chance and there really is no way of knowing whether anything shown at the conference would actually be any good at all even after the great CGI trailers.
Tumblr media
But, Nintendo, Square Enix, and Xbox had a great E3 this year. Xbox had a general one but did show off some great new things and its new Xbox GamePass for PC is a great value for everyone and there is something that every PC owner can play on the catalog so you don’t need a BEAST PC to play anything on Xbox GamePass because there is something for all types of hardware there. They also have solid games to look forward to like Gears 5, Halo: Infinite
But Nintendo did something different and although Square Enix showed off quality titles with game play like Final Fantasy 7 Remake there is no doubt that Nintendo had the best E3 showing because of the sheer volume of games in the lineup and big 3rd party support all with real footage of looking and running well on the Switch. Not all games had real footage but many games should not even be running on the Switch because of how under powered the hardware is compared to other systems like Xbox and PlayStation.
Tumblr media
My top 10 Most Anticipated games from this years E3:
Jedi: Fallen Order
Daemon X Machina
Astral Chain
Zelda: Link’s Awakening for Nintendo Switch
DragonQuest 11: Echoes of an Elusive Age
Doom: Eternal
Cyberpunk 2077
Zelda: Breath of the Wild Sequel
Gears 5
The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt for Nintendo Switch
Overall Nintendo Dominated the competition even though Square Enix and Xbox both had a great conference this year. Nobody can say that E3 disappointed this year despite the absence of PlayStation which will now be forgotten for a little while and I am seriously thinking they should have made an appearance after the quality E3 that is rarely displayed like this one in 2019. We need more excitement and to leave E3 with actual knowledge that the future is without a doubt good for the video game industry and I am certain people are thinking just like me and we are all tired of game conferences where they promise gamers like us everything and they fail to deliver.
Tumblr media
It’s a waste of money, time and effort to work hard for our cash and to spend it on a piece of crap just is very aggravating. I’m leaving E3 happy that Nintendo, Square Enix and Xbox have some great gaming ideas for the future and have no doubts that there is something for me out there that I can play that is a quality title in the very near future.

My review on the Pokémon direct 6/06/17.
Well... I wouldn't say it was good or bad. All I can say is...the Direct presentation was ok. I didn't want to put hope a new Main Pokémon game on the Switch on 100% because, it's a little too early for Pokémon to get a Switch game. I mean I didn't want Game Freak to release Pokémon on the Switch this year, otherwise it would of have suffered the same fate as Sonic The Hedgehog 2006 (and Sonic Boom Rise of Lyric), glitchy, unfinished and more broken than the Gen 1 Pokémon games. So I want Game Freak to take their time on making a Pokémon game on the Switch. That way they can adjust to the Switch's hardware. Not to mention they could make the Pokémon Switch game open-world like what Xenoblade, The Elder Scrolls, Grand Theft Auto, and of course, the recently released Zelda game that made Hyrule big and beautiful. So I can wait on that. I was more focused on a Third version of Pokémon Sun and Moon or a Gen IV remakes on the 3DS or Switch. Now I got the why I shouldn't put too much hope on a new Switch Pokémon game out of the way, lets talk about the presentation. My main complaint is that they focused way too much on the Pokkén Tournament on the Switch way too much than the new versions of the Sun and Moon Pokémon games. I mean it's not that special. I knew that Pokkén tournament would get a Switch release with new Pokémon fighters such as Darkrai, Empoleon, Croagunk (one of my favorite Pokémon in the anime where it served of dragging Brock away from a pretty girl just how Misty and Max did before it), Scizor, and what I knew would be the Charizard of Generation VII: Decidueye. And another reason it's releasing on the Switch is because many players would miss out Wii U version because of the lackluster units sold and it endangered Nintendo to go Third-Part much like it's formal nemesis: Sega. So I think it was a good idea to release the game on the Switch. But they talked about it too much and we got little glimpse of our bigger interest: Necrozma(?)'s games. Apparently they decided not to call the updated versions of Sun and Moon 'Star' or 'Prism' but rather call them 'Ultra' Sun and 'Ultra' Moon. I think Ultra may have something to do with Necrozma along with Solgaleo & Lunala relationship between the Ultra Beasts. So I think it's a decent title for the new upgraded Pokémon games. Well their not sequels (I think) so it's not worth calling 'Pokémon Sun 2' and Pokémon Moon 2'. And we didn't see what new Pokémon rather old or new or Alolan formed or what changed in the new Alola region. So I'm kind of let down that we didn't see much of it besides the Pokémon jumping and attacking at the same time and Solgaleo's and Lunala's form or merged with Necrozma or if it's Necrozma taking the form as the said Legendary Pokémon. But one thing in that direct that had me scream like a fangirl. Pokémon Gold and Pokémon Silver on the 3DS virtual console. (No Crystal? Wonder why...) I mean finally, the much improved 8-bit Pokémon games on the 3DS virtual console! What is the biggest flaw of the generation II games? The internal battery! Once it one out of juice, everything you've accomplished in those games such as finding rare Shiny Pokémon, your team maxed out, obtaining the Mythical Pokémon such as Celebi, all get erased! And replacing that battery is no easy task! So I am happy to have those games finally released on the 3DS eshop so I don't have to worry about the game's battery anymore. So in conclusion, the Direct presentation was alright. We may not have gotten information about what Pokémon will be like on the Switch and got little information about the new versions, but at least we know that Pokkén tournament is getting a Switch release with new Pokémon and we're going to have the third versions of Sun and Moon and that Gold and Silver are releasing on the 3DS eShop. And we have E3 next week. So more surprises are to come. And one final drawback is that Gold and Silver won't release till September. What?

Roses are red, Violets are Adored (Viadore/Katlaska/group fic)
As promised! Sorry I've been so neglectful of the story lately but now that my hallowe'en and Christmas fics are out of my system, I can get back to hopefully finish up Roses soon. I am working on an optional epilogue as well and sometimes even though I haven't finished writing the story, I know what's gonna happen so I write the epilogue for a bit.
If you are happening across my tumblr for the first time because of the fic exchange or just because then WELCOME! If you enjoy massively HUGE (192k+ words and still going) fics with angst, hurt/comfort, fluff, love and a lil sprinkle of paranormal phenomenon that is written with a lot of details, YOU HAVE FOUND THE RIGHT PLACE. The easiest way to read Roses is to go here to my AO3!
Happy Christmas/Chanukkah/Yule/Kwanza/Holiday Monday to you and yours! Stay safe and remember, if you don't have supportive family, we get to make our own. You are valid. Your pronouns are important. Your sexuality is not up for debate. You are loved.
Love n Glitter,
Remény
Phi Phi’s POV
I love the post-show euphoria, fresh off a meet and greet with the best Phans anywhere. The feeling of contentment that you are living your dream. The adrenaline rush was unlike anything else, I hummed to myself as I quickly changed into some more comfortable clothes. I noticed my phone lit up as I pulled my makeup wipes out of my bag. I frowned as I read Pearl’s angry and mis-spelt text.
Pearl - U told Katya? Do yuo WANT me t kill you? She’s gona tell Alaska who can’t keep anythng from her bestie Sharon! And after I’m done killing you, FAME IS GOIN TO KLIL YOU!
I angrily typed in:
Me- Pearl! I didn’t tell ANYONE! I promised I wouldn’t!! I PROMISED! I wouldn’t do that to her! I have no idea what you are talking about!
Pearl - BULLSHIT! Katya texted me that she knew what happened and that Fame didn’t fall!
I jabbed in a response as I stood up and stalked around the room, looking for the skinny Russian queen and her even skinnier Alien boyfriend, getting more livid by the moment.
Me- Did Katya SAY I told her?! Because she hasn’t even SPOKEN 2 words to me tonight!!
And then the three dancing dots appeared, knowing Pearl was formulating a much larger response to ream my ass out for something I didn’t do, I stalked out the side door to see if Katya was out smoking.
Sure enough, Katya was there with her head back mid-laugh while Alaska gazed at her annoyingly adoringly. They stopped when they saw me steaming from the ears in the doorway.
“Oh heeeyy Pheephs!” Alaska greeted me in an unnaturally high voice as she feigned innocence. “How ya doing?”
“Well...you see...I just got my ass handed to me by Pearl for something I didn’t do.” I spat out, punctuating my words by jabbing the cell phone clenched in my hand in their direction.
“Listen, Jeremi…” Katya started, putting her hands out.
“Oh DON’T ‘listen Jeremi’ me! I promised I wouldn’t say anything and now Pearl is PISSED at me! Even if I didn’t say anything, you KNOW how Pearl is. She’s gonna fucking close up again and it’s going to be YOUR FUCKING FAULT!!”
“JER STOP!!” I heard Alaska plead and felt a hand on my shoulder. Alaska’s hand. My hand was clenched around a fistful of a scared looking Katya’s Tshirt. How did I get to this? I let it go and stumbled backwards, landing on my ass and putting my face in my hands and bursting into loud, messy tears. My phone clattering to the ground. I stiffened momentarily when Alaska wrapped her arm around me, sitting beside me. I felt Katya sit on the other side of me, placing my phone on my leg.
“I...I’m sorry Kat.”
“Hey, hey, it’s ok! You’re ok. We are all going to be ok! Fame too.” Katya murmured, “I’m going to text Pearl now, I’ll get this all straightened out, I promise.” Katya frantically started tapping away with her thumbs.
I nodded mutely. I can’t believe I lost my temper like that. All this stuff with Fame and Pearl was digging up the rage that bubbled barely under the surface some days. Usually, aside from bitchy comments, I was able to keep my shit in check but I was so damn tired, which totally didn't help with my shoddy impulse control. I breathed in through my nose and out through my mouth, keeping my eyes closed but letting my hands fall into my lap.
“Phi Phi come here.” Alaska said, trying to pull me towards her chest. “I said come here you. You’re shaking!” Alaska fretted, pulling her sweater off and draping it over my shoulders, she wiggled closer to me and pulled my stiff body in. I finally relented, putting my head on her shoulder and leaning into her. I started crying again, I wasn't even sure what I was crying about. Kat was going to sort it out. Pearl has to forgive me. I didn’t DO anything!
Katya reached over and linked her arm with mine. Her phone dinged and it made me jump. Then my phone dinged making all three of us huddled together jump.
Pearl - It seems I’ve been fucking misinformed. Sorry Pheefs! I really am. Can you please swear the Russian and the Alien to secrecy? Tell them to keep it quiet if they don’t wish to die a slow and painful death from evisceration with a rusty spoon wielded by one pissed off drag queen.
I burst out with a little giggle and typed in
Me - Gee thanks so much for that mental image lol I’ll tell them. How’s Fame? Are you ok?
Pearl - You’re welcome! Police came, were absolutely no help, I’ll explain it all later. Fame’s conked out, they gave her some pain meds and had to give her anti-anxiety meds because the police got her all riled up. I’m tired but fine. Just remembering shit I don’t really want to.
Me - I will get a ride over there after I ditch the Russian and Alien and then you can go back to the hotel and have a rest. Did they say if she’d be released or admitted tonight yet?
Pearl - They haven’t said anything!! It’s driving me fucking bonkers! You don’t have to come over, you worked tonight, I just sat here. I’ll be fine although I may sneak out to have a smoke but with my luck, if I did, that would be when the Dr would fucking come in so I better stay here. It can’t be that bad because the MRI was done HOURS ago, if it was bad, they’d be in here.
Me - too bad, I’ll be there in 15, you’re stuck with me. Muah hah hah ha! Maybe the Dr will come in while I’m on my way?!
Pearl - LOL you are something Pheefs, ever the optimist! If you insist on coming (and you REALLY don’t have to) can you bring me a phone charger if you have one in your drag bag please? And I’m sorry again, I feel like they tricked me. I will take care of Katya, just tell them NOT to tell anyone, be VERY clear you mean ANYONE and specifically say that includes Sharon!
Me - I will. I’ll see you soon. It’s ok, I would be mad too, I understand. I’m just glad your wrath will be directed at them not me anymore! Lol!
I put my phone face down on my knee and looked from one queen to the other. “Ok, I have been told to tell you,” I said calmly and slowly, “that if you tell ANYONE what you know, that Pearl will disembowel you with a rusty spoon.” They both made squidgy faces as I turned to point my finger into Alaska’s chest, “and she said to specifically say that ANYONE includes Sharon fucking Needles! But tell abso-fucking-lutely no one if you wish to keep Pearl from going all homicidal homo on your asses.”
Katya let out a wheezy bark of laughter. “Sorry! Ha homicidal homo...that’s a good one Pheefs!” Alaska started laughing too and I joined in.
After a few minutes of us cackling, Alaska gave me a little squeeze and let go. “Are you coming back with us? I’m going to order an uber or something.”
“No, I’ll get one on my own, I’m gonna go relieve Pearl for a little bit so she can have a cigarette, maybe convince her to go back to the hotel. She sounds like she’s climbing the walls over there.”
“We could come with you and keep you guys company? How’s Fame doing?” Katya offered.
I shook my head, shrugging off Alaska’s sweater and trying to give it to her, she wouldn’t let me though and draped it over my shoulders again. “No, I’ll go by myself, I’m sure they are just in a little tiny room. Pearl said Fame was sleeping anyway so I don’t think we should wake her, especially if she has the good drugs in her system and isn’t in as much pain.” I said with a little chuckle.
“At least I’m glad she’s resting now.” Katya said, chewing on her bottom lip. "I'm so sorry that Pearl got mad at you, I should have used my brain."
"It's ok, it's just...Pearl has grown so much, I'd hate to see her close in on herself again. She's gonna need to be able to talk with people, especially if something...uh...happens with Violet." A pang of pain went through my heart, I know that Vi's tests came back that they were beating this beast but I couldn't help worrying. Cancer is so damn unpredictable.
"Hey, hey, Vi's gonna be ok." Katya reassured me, rubbing my back. I just nodded.
Alaska ordered us both ubers, I grabbed my wallet and charger from my drag bag and sent the rest back with them. There was no reason to lug 15 pounds of makeup and pads to the hospital and back.
The hospital was pretty big but the uber driver dropped me off at the emergency entrance, I hesitated outside the nurses window. What was Fame's last name again? I couldn't very well walk up and say I was here to see a patient named Kurtis. I was just about to text Pearl when I remembered.
I pulled the curtain back slowly, peeking in but not stepping in yet. Pearl was dozing in the armchair. I sucked in a small gasp of air at the sight of Fame. Something about seeing her in a hospital bed, in a gown with an IV, her head lolled to the side. A giant oxygen mask obscured half of her face, large purple circles under her eyes. She was pale which made the purple and blue bruises on her face stand out in stark contrast. It somehow made what happened to her more real and I felt a surge of anger at the assholes that did that to her.
I paused in the doorway, I didn't want to make any noise. Pearl grimaced and ground her teeth in her sleep, I winced at the grating noise. At least she was getting a few minutes of sleep in. I could hear a gurney rolling down the hall and took a few tiny steps into the room. Pearl's head snapped up, eyes wide as she took in her surroundings until she saw me, she quickly pasted on a smile but it didn't reach her haunted looking eyes.
I quickly walked over as she stood up, I pulled her into a hug and couldn't help but notice the tremble running through her body and into mine. "Hey there you." I said softly.
"Hey," she whispered and cleared her throat.
"Y'ok?" It was a stupid question and I immediately kicked myself for it, "sorry dumb question."
She sank back down in the chair, lacing her fingers together and staring down at them like they were the most interesting thing in the world. I crouched down, she momentarily flinched when I put my hand on her knee but quickly recovered. "I'm not ok Pheefs, I'm far from ok. I'm so tired." She whispered brokenly, bowing her head down. I knew she didn't mean that she was physically tired, although I'm sure she was, I knew in my gut that she meant that bone crushing emotional weariness that comes from the energy it takes to keep going, to keep the walls up to protect your heart at all costs, even from yourself at times.
"I know you are babe, I'm so proud you can admit that you aren't ok, that you feel safe enough and trust me enough to admit that means the world to me." My voice cracked with emotion.
She looked up at me, tears were in her eyes but they didn't fall as she said seriously, "I will always trust you Jer. You are one of my very best friends and I don't know what I would have done without you these past few weeks with everything that has happened."
"What happened with the police?" If I thought I was mad before, it was nothing to the rage I felt after she told me, my hands balled into fists. I couldn't blame Fame for not wanting to bother reliving it but it made me furious that the fuckheads who did this to her wouldn't pay! I didn't get much of a chance to respond since Fame stirred and let out a little whimper.
Pearl hopped up and dashed around me and pulled Fame's hand into hers. "It's ok Kurtis, I'm here. You're safe. I got you Kurt. No leave that on please." Pearl replaced the mask back on Fame's face and captured both of Fame's hands in hers to prevent her from doing it again. It took Fame a few moments to wake up enough to stop struggling to pull her hands from Pearl's as Pearl continued to reassure her that she was safe. Fame seemed to calm, closing her eyes again.
"I'm going to go see if I can get an update." I couldn't just sit there doing nothing. I went out to the nurses desk, drumming my fingers on the countertop as I waited for someone to come by.
"Can I help you?" The nurse looked up from her stack of papers and then did a double take, she smiled, "hey, aren't you Phi Phi O'Hara?"
"Guilty as charged." I joked with a little grin back.
"Are you ok? I just got here and I'm playing catch up," she waved a hand at the stack of clipboards and paper-laden file folders, she frowned, "are you sick? What can I do?"
"I'm fine, Fame is here and she's not so fine. Pearl and I were wondering when we would get to talk to the Dr and if we could take her back to the hotel tonight."
"Oh Fame and Pearl are here too? I'm sorry Fame isn't well, I know the doctor just got here too, let me go check with her. I'll be right back." She rifled through the files for a minute til she found one that had Kurtis Dam-Mikelson on the front and took off to the back. She was gone for maybe 5 minutes, she came out with a troubled look on her face and I knew she had read what happened to Fame, I hoped she wouldn't tell anyone. "So Dr Fisher will be in in about 5 minutes, it's a safe bet you'll be able to take her home with you...well back to the hotel."
I smiled, "when you travel as much as we do, our home is each other instead of a place."
"Aww that's lovely. Ok well tell Fame I hope she feels better. I'm so sorry about what happened to her! Now, you might want to prepare her that a counsellor will probably want to talk to her before she goes, it's policy in cases of violent crimes. Oh I feel so bad!" She had tears in her eyes, "sorry, I'm not usually all emotional like this, I just feel like you guys are like...like friends...like I know you."
I echoed my statement from earlier that I had said to Pearly, "hey, it's ok to not be ok!" I gave her a lame little pat on the back and walked away. It wasn't that her words or display of emotion bothered me, I just wanted to get back to Fame and Pearly. I didn't know if they had eaten since the pizza this afternoon, I mean Fame was asleep but Pearl hadn't had more than half a piece of pizza all day that I had noticed. I doubted that she had left Fame's side to seek out food or water.
Well I thought Fame was asleep until I heard her raised voice, I wondered if the police had made their way back into the room. I pulled the curtain aside and ducked, narrowly avoiding my head coliding with the mug Fame had just thrown at a startled looking young woman with a hospital ID that said Deena Dale and then Psychologist Resident in smaller letters. She ducked and the mug shattered against the wall behind us.
