Lost in the Book with Stitch Ending (& the Blue Fairy??)

The ending of the Stitch event through me for a loop. Although I think it may be a tie in to the Book 7 dream themes, it was such an odd ending with very little explanation. Perhaps the book will be involved for future events, but no one remembers anything, nor did we see the book again once it closed.

I thought my theory that the book belonged to Ambrose (and was snuck into the NRC library by Chenya) was possible, but the ending didn’t answer a single question about the book. (Credit to Ekala on YouTube for these screenshots and translations!!)

However, the last shots we got of the book gives me some material to work with 🤔 The entire event seems to be captured in this book, with a mixture of writing and photos. There’s even an explicit “the end.” This is very sus to me lmao, especially knowing that the book can take you to another world. Why would the book record all these events?

Edit: A lot of the classic Disney movies start the story by opening a book with the title of the movie on it. Snow White, Sleeping Beauty, Pinocchio etc. Even more suspicious 🤨

However, I don’t think this specific story can be seen again. The book cover changes with the location, see? So I’m assuming that once the book goes back to a plain cover, the Stitch story and the photos will disappear. It’s still in the book, but it just won’t be visible anymore. I’m also assuming that when there’s no image on the book cover, the pages are blank. (This book feels very Ever After High lmaoo)

But what interests me is how aged the book is. A lot of modern book pages are made to be more protected against the elements, but older books tends look browned or yellowed because of their long time exposure to light, oxygen, and or humidity. The reddish edges of the book also appear to be a sign of this. The cover is pristine looking, likely due to its magic, but the inside reveals its age. Hm. I still feel confident about the book belonging to Ambrose due to this factor. Since Ambrose is the 63rd, the book may have been passed down his family.

But what REALLY caught my eye was the sparks of BLUE magic when the book closed. Blue??

I’m not an expert of Disney media lmao, but I can’t immediately think of a character who’s magic was blue. Merryweather, one of the three fairies from Sleeping Beauty, comes to mind, but it doesn’t make sense that green and red magic from Flora and Fauna wouldn’t show up either.

Next what comes to mind is Merlin, who Ambrose is based off of. He seems a lot more likely, one because of Ambrose, and two because of Merlin’s signature blue color. Ever when he transformed into various animals in Sword of the Stone, he would still be blue. What troubles me though is the color of his magic. It consists of various colors in the shapes of stars, but not blue. Red and green are most commonly seen in his magic aura.

Maybe I’m overthinking this haha, but TWST is fairly consistent with the colors of magic. The Light Trio (Silver, Kalim, and Rook) has light magic, so no matter their spell element, it appears as light. Regular magic seems to show up as white sparkles, with the exception of Malleus and his green fireflies. So blue magic seems significant.

But then I remembered about the newest event announced with two next characters that are likely based off Honest John and Gideon- who are from Pinocchio.

Pinocchio has the Blue Fairy, and the confirmation of Honest John and Gideon brings the possibility of the Blue Fairy as a character.

In the song, When You Wish Upon A Star, the Blue Fairy is referred to as “Fate.” She can take on different forms, including a wishing star and a dove. She can even give a wooden puppet life. She also has BLUE magic.

All the characters were essentially “wishing” for a beach event, weren’t they? And the book granted their wish, even if they lost their memories in the end. And despite the memory loss, they all made to agreement to visit the beach together during summer vacation. So not only did they experience their wish, they likely made it come true in the real world as well. This feels very familiar to the Blue Fairy’s actions, who guides Pinocchio but is also hands-free in his fate. She gave him not only an opportunity, but a choice, which is powerful on its own.

Perhaps this book is a creation of the Blue Fairy herself? (Or maybe she’s inside the mirror on the book cover LMAO this is a common crack theory of mine)

The mystery remains, so feel free to help me out here !! (ﾟ´ω`ﾟ)ﾟ｡ The last shots of the book definitely helped, but I’m still a little disappointed that there was never a clear ending and answer

I think this illustration is one of the most detailed ones I’ve ever drawn in digital painting. I decided not to rush and pay attention to any details, even the smallest ones as it’s something I usually really enjoy doing. I really put my soul into it (always with the twins).

I was so hyped by the new summer event with Floyd that I decided to go wild and draw his full merform. Stitch also has a merform even tho we don’t see his tail and I added a shark because they look ferocious (like Floyd) and there’s actually one on his card. I never miss details like that fufu. Just noticed they all have sharp teeth too.

Bonus: As I'm dying of heat atm I decided to illustrate it with Grim:
