Winter: How so?

Jaune: Oh, Uh, Hey there!
Prisoner: ...
Jaune: Not much of a talker? Eh that's fine, I probably wouldn't be in your situation-
Jaune: Hey, Did you know that more than half the Bone in your body are in your hands and feet?
Prisoner: ?
Jaune: So whenever somebody says, "I'm going to break every bone in your body" I think "That's ridiculous" It'd be way too much work!
Jaune: But I could break half the Bones in your body.
Prisoner: *Slightly Panicking* ???
Winter: ... How?
Nora: He's been browsing wikipedia and sharing facts with people like -
Jaune: Hey can I sharpen Crocea in here? I was going to do that before I got dragged in.
Winter: So long as you do not harm the prisoner.
Jaune: Thank you! *Pulls out a Whetstone, dragging it along the Edge*
Jaune: Oh, and something else that's interesting; the membrane around the Eyes are innervated with both itch receptors and pain neurons, whereas the Eyes themselves only have Pain neurons, because of course Evolution is strongly incentivized to prevent you from scratching your Cornea with your fingernail.
Jaune: So your eye are never actually itchy. People say "My Eyes are Itchy" but they're not. They're not actually itchy, it's just the membrane around the eyes.
Jaune: Did that make you feel better?
Prisoner: ALRIGHT I'LL TALK JUST ME OUTTA HERE?
Jaune: *Steps closer* You alright?
Prisoner: AAHH!

If you ever forget that TV Tropes can suck sometimes, visit the RWBY page every now and again to remind yourselves.
(Seriously, every single example of a trope being edited to be a multi sentence word vomit, almost all the rwby tv tropes pages are controlled by one guy the staff favors, multiple attempts to claim non-binary characters are not actually non binary, RWDE videos like Judgemental Critter are used as "objective factual" examples of certain tropes even though all the clips are her going on bad faith rants about everything she doesn't like)

Saw this tag and wanted to assure possible readers that I am super super careful about pre-warnings! I have this note tacked on explaining how I manage overly sensitive content at the start of the fic;
Most of the tags come from off-screen mentions, implications, or said in passing by the characters. Any and all actual depictions of the graphic tags are skippable and isolated in their own chapters. I'd say this one focuses more on artistic depictions and symbolic imagery versus actual dead dove - do not eat. Sometimes one is harder to stomach than the other, but rest assured it's not terrible <3 But it's totally fine if themes like that in general are not up your alley! If you want to give it a try tho, I go overboard with pre-warnings of every chapter

On RWBY, The Amazing Digital Circus and Toxic Indie Fandoms...
Fans of cartoons, animated movies and animation in general have a... bit of a complex. Largely when it come to snubbing a new movie and/or show for not being just like what ever the standard bearer is at the time. A mentality that really hurts critical discussion than help. Like... getting mad at, say, Big City Greens of what Disney pulled with The Owl House is just not cool.
I find it happens a lot with Animation Twitter spaces being all about taking Disney down a peg be it because Spiderverse or Puss In Boots (take your pick at this point). Though in that case, it's a case of one-up-manship getting way too out of hand since there's at least a vocal push back.
With RWBY being pitted against every other indie animation, it's actually not too much of a unique case.
It has been a small scale project getting massive amounts of hype from the pilot (or Trailers as with RWBY's case) only for the show to come out and split its pre-established audience down the middle.
This split starts and widens when it comes to how a character may be initially presented only for more facets to them to be revealed. It should go without saying buuuuuuut the creative team are not mind-readers. Even the most popular of fanworks will inevitably NOT reflect what the show will develop into whether they come close or not.
However, that investment in fanon is liable to clash with what canon goes with. Some fans take it is stride and are willing to hear the showrunners on their direction. Others... take it personally.
Maybe a character that seemed mean but wronged turns out to be a very shitty person.
Maybe a character that seemed shitty has some hidden depths beyond how they initally came across.
Maybe the story is taking a turn that, well, had precedence but feels alienating to those who preferred the previous status quo.
Maybe the pacing feels off with certain reveals that may be a skill issue on the writer's part.
The issues may vary but a lot of this comes from a sort of "bigger they are" type of backlash with a lot of specific expectations formed of the story before there even was one.
Now this might sound like RWBY but... a lot of them were inspired by the polarized comments of Helluva Boss Season 2.
It happening to Vivziepop.
It's happening to RWBY.
And let me tell you, it WILL happen to The Amazing Digital Circus even if it has a limited run planned.
A character will become more than just some fan's blorbo for better or worse and said fans will loose their shit.
A ship will sail however much they wanted sunk.
No matter what, there will always be ONE FAN that will be pissed off.
