the rooftop.
Every girl in school likes Tsukishima Kei. Everyone knows he's the popular tall boy who helped take the school volleyball team to the nationals. Naturally, he's the target of various confessions per week. He's certain at least of every class has confessed to him. And then, there's you. The mysterious girl that silently hangs out with him on the rooftop of the school building. All he knows about you is that you're in the same classmas Hinata and Kageyama. That is, until you come up with a proposition he finds it hard to deny.

hi. fake relationship. high school. feelings. sorry if this feels rushed towards the end, ive been writing this since januray 2023. crossposted on ao3
✦ . ⁺ . ✦ . ⁺ . ✦
The sky is a nice blue, and you enjoy the view as you lean on the rails of the roof on your lunch break, basking on the sunlight and the cool wind breeze mother nature decided to bless you this afternoon. Despite your friends having lunch in the classroom, you like being alone at this time of the day. It's the only time you have to yourself. After this, you'll have classes and club activities, and then you'll have to get home and have homework to do and study and won’t have even a single thought to yourself.
This is why you sigh silently when you hear a stranger's voice coming from behind you. Right at the corner of the roof, where they can't see you, there's a girl confessing her crush to the same tall boy who hangs out silently on the same roof as you. You look over your shoulder and see her handing him a pink envelope, bowing and leaving. The boy just stares at it, in silence, adjusts his glasses and walks over to the trash can by the rail where he tosses the envelope.
You scoff at him.
“Shut up,” Tsukishima tells you.
“I didn’t say anything.” You protest and look back at the sight the school building provides, “Although, that's what? The third one this week?”
“Tch.” He joins you on the railing and doesn't say anything for a moment. “I tried coming here for a break, but they keep finding me.”
You roll your eyes, “Oh, the struggle.”
The mocking tone makes him sigh, irritation coursing through his veins. You're one of the few girls that haven't had a crush on or haven't confessed to him. That he knows. And it's not like he takes pride in it, being one of the popular guys in school and having girls falling for him daily. Sure, it was fun in the first year of high school, but now, in his last, he just wants to focus on graduating and getting into a nice university, moving on with life.
Then, there's you. The mysterious girl he met on the roof of the school's building that he knows nothing about. All he knows about you is that you're in the same class as Hinata’s and he'll be dead before he asks him about you. For now, he'll just hang out silently with you and bask on the unspoken agreement that you two have.
“Why don't you give one of them a chance?” You break the silence and Tsukishima exhales sharply as he remembers Yamaguchi saying these same words to him once. He ducks his head for a moment, then pushes himself off the railing.
“Don't you have better things to do?” He asks, looking straight into your eyes.
“Nope,” You smirk at him, knowing you're getting on his nerves. A laugh escapes your lips as he clicks his tongue. He has pretty eyes, though.
“What about you?” He asks, leaning his forearms on the railing again, “Surely there must be someone—”
It's your turn to click your tongue, irritated. The subject annoys you too much, especially when the creepy boys from your club come to mind every time, and Tsukishima falls silent, knowing it's dangerous territory. The both of you fall into a comfortable silence again, once more enjoying what you came in search of: peace of mind.
Except your mind is not at peace at all. You barely know this kid, just that he's on the masculine volleyball team and that they went to the nationals once and it was a pretty big deal at the time. And that he's tall. And handsome. And that pretty much all girls in school fall for him because of all that. You're not so sure why so many girls tend to confess to him anyway. Tsukishima is a bit rude and harsh when you meet him. At least he was when you met him. At first, it made you back away from him as far as possible. How could a girl even want to be his girlfriend?
And then a thought hits you.
“You know...” You pick at your nails, eyes down to the other students far away from you, “I could pretend to be your girlfriend to keep those girls away...”
Tsukishima's eyes bore to you, but you're still looking down. At first, he thinks you're joking, but the look on your face tells him you're serious about it. Still, he can't help but be sarcastic about it because, well, that's just who he is.
“You'd do that for me.” The cynicism is clear on his voice, and you end up rolling your eyes, but smile as you look back at him, shrugging.
“You'd keep the creeps away.”
This, he wasn't expecting. He tries to hide the surprise on his face but fails to. Then, he falls into his usual Tsukishima face and scoffs, pushing himself out of the rail and turning his back to walk away. You sigh deeply and lean your chin on your forearms, enjoying the last minutes of your lunch break, knowing the bell will ring soon and you'll have to get back to your classroom.
It's not until two days later that you hear of Tsukishima again. You're doing some homework in advance on your break, since it’s pouring outside and you can't go to the roof today, when one of your classmates calls your name and tells you he's looking for you. The hallway is packed with people, and it annoys him that his earphones are out of battery so he can't listen to music like he always does, so when you meet him outside your classroom the frown between his brows is almost popping up a vein, you're sure of it.
“What's up?” You say, pretending not to notice the large vein on his forehead. Oh, he's pissed at something and you're dying to see it.
“C'mon,” he simply says and turns his back. When you don't follow, confused at his command, he sighs sharply and pulls you by the wrist. You try to protest, but you're very aware everyone is watching as he pulls you through the hallway towards a more private place. When he's sure no one is around, Tsukishima stops by the stairs between the first and second floors, where Hinata swore to him he once saw a ghost there.
“Damn, what happened?” You ask, frowning at the strong grip on your wrist.
“I'll do it.”
You pause, looking way up at his height that towers you. It should intimidate you, it should make you back away, especially after you saw the way he treats people... but you don't.
“Do what?”
He closes his eyes and inhales deeply. Are you really gonna make him say it? Fine, so be it. What's a little pride anyway? He takes a deep breath and looks into your eyes.
“I'll pretend to be your boyfriend... to keep the creeps away.”
“Oh. That.” You had forgotten about it already. So, he wants in, then? “O-okay.”
“Okay.” He parrots and his eyes travel through your shoulder to your arm and notes how he's still gripping your wrist like there's no tomorrow. Tsukishima quickly lets go of you like you have the plague, then clears his throat, a faint shade of red painting his cheekbones, “S-so, how do we do this?”
You shrug, “We spend time together on breaks, go home holding hands, all that couple stuff, you know.”
On the outside, your behavior is nonchalant, but your hands are shaking with nervousness. You’re about to fake an entire relationship with a guy you barely know.
“Right.” Tsukishima nods, “I have club activities until six, though.”
“Me too. You can wait for me outside gymnasium five, the one with the pool. Just make sure you're seen.”
A groan bubbles up in his throat, but he swallows it down. Isn't being seen the main objective here? So, he just nods and exhales softly as he closes his eyes.
“Don't worry,” you say, realizing he looks worried about your plan, “I won't make you kiss me or anything... unless you want me to.”
Tsukishima opens his eyes and blushes furiously, a frown growing between his brows. You let a laugh escape your lips, genuinely having fun with his reaction. That until someone starts descending the stairs, interrupting their moment. It's the girl from that day on the roof, the one that handed the letter over to Tsukishima when you were there. She looks at him and then looks at you, a small frown between her eyebrows. For a moment, you think she's going to say something, but she just walks past you both and quickly makes her way to the first floor. When you look back at him, his skin is bright red, and his eyes are everywhere but on you.
“Well, you gotta do better than that if you want to convince people we're together.” You actually smile at the view.
He just huffs and walks away from you.
The rain has stopped by the time you're done with your club activities. You make sure to leap out of the pool and power walk to the dressing rooms.
“No running around the pool!” Your professor says and you apologize, but don't stop, ripping the goggles and swimming cap from your head.
“Someone's in a hurry today!” You hear a remark, probably from one the first years, and ignore them as you quickly enter the dressing room and start undressing.
You don't even bother to wash off the chlorine from your hair, just a quick douche and you're already putting your uniform on again. Almost knocking a second year down, you bust out of the dressing room, making your way outside.
No sight of Tsukishima.
All that work for nothing. You sigh, deciding to wait a couple of minutes, but he doesn't show up. Did he change his mind? He would've let you know if that was the case, right?
As you start walking around the school to make your way to the volleyball gymnasium, you feel embarrassed to be that excited to see him. Maybe you should’ve washed your hair, maybe it was stupid to rush like that.
Trapped in your own thoughts, you don’t see the tall presence in front of you as you turn a corner to reach the gymnasium. The strong body collides with you, and it sends you back, your feet tripping on each other making you almost fall on your ass.
His hands reach for you, holding you in place.
Tsukishima’s eyes look down at you, honey colored pupils staring at you confused. For a second you think your heart skips a beat with the way he holds your upper arms, the warmth of his hands radiating to your own skin.
“I thought you said to be outside gymnasium five,” he says, pulling you back from your thoughts.
“Y-you didn’t show up.” You manage to say.
He sighs, letting go of you. “Sorry. Coach held us a bit back there.”
Tsukishima pulls his phone out of his bag and only then you notice he’s wearing his club’s uniform. He didn’t have time to change and was going to see you right away.
“Oh.” You say, watching the way his eyes scan whatever is on his phone. He looks at you and you feel heat on your cheeks, looking away. In the distance, a boy with brown hair and a blonde girl are looking puzzled at the both of you. You take a deep breath and look back at him, the corners of your mouth curving into a smile. “It’s okay! Meeting here is better anyway.”
Tsukishima then remembers he didn’t give an explanation to his teammates on why he wasn’t going to change, saying he just needed to be somewhere else. His ears turn pink when he realizes they’re still lingering outside the door and witnessing this interaction.
“Walk me home?” You smile at him.
He just nods. Walking you home is probably the best way to be seen together. Side eyeing Yamaguchi and Yachi, he walks by your side as you guide him towards the exit.
He'd have a lot of explaining to do tomorrow.
“Are you and Tsukishima from class four together?” It’s the first thing you hear when you enter the classroom the next day. Your friend grabs your shoulders and looks right into your eyes.
“U-uh…” you clutch your bag and swallow hard, thinking of what to say, “Yeah, we’re–“ you swallow hard again, “We’re together.”
Her eyes widens and she opens her mouth, but you interrupt whatever she is about to say.
“Don’t scream.” You manage to get free from her grip.
“Wait, but Yuuki from class two confessed to him yesterday! She said he said he wasn’t interested.” She follows you to your seat.
“Oh, really?” you say as you sit down, watching as she pulls a chair to sit beside you.
“And Maki saw you two in the hallway at lunch and started crying, ‘cause she also confessed to him this week.” You think back to the moment a familiar girl ran into you two by the stairs. You kinda feel bad for making a girl cry, but you’re sure Tsukishima will like that the girls already fell for your fake relationship. When you don’t say anything, your friend keeps talking, “Maki said he seemed interested in her, though.”
“Oh, trust me, he wasn’t.” You laugh, remembering how he immediately threw her love letter in the trashcan when she left.
“What?”
“What?” You look back at her.
“You’re acting so weird…” She frowns at you.
Swallowing, you shrug, “I don't know what you’re talking about.”
Luckily, the bell rings and you silently thank time for being so on point. Your friend goes back to her seat, and you sigh relieved.
Who would’ve known lying would be so hard?
“So, is it true?” Yamaguchi asks as he approaches the net to block a spike from the other team.
Coach made them split into groups of three to play against each other and Tsukishima was stuck with a freshman and Yamaguchi.
“What is?” He asks after jumping and blocking the spike successfully.
“That you’re with that girl from class one.”
He looks at Yamaguchi and understands why he’s been acting weird all day. Ever since he saw you together, he’s been acting as if he wants to say something.
Tsukishima says your name.
“Yeah,” he then says, “It’s true.”
He doesn’t see it, but he knows Yamaguchi is smiling at him, that hopeful, shit eating grin he hates so much.
“I knew someday–“
“Save it.” Tsukishima interrupts him.
“Well, I was right, wasn’t I?”
Yamaguchi had been saying for weeks that the girl who sits on the roof during lunch time and Tsukishima would end up together someday. Something to do with spending too much time with her, ‘specially if she hasn’t confessed’ like he said. Yamaguchi was actually so wrong about it, but he let him have it by grunting a response.
He felt bad enough lying to his best friend already.
“So who confessed first?”
“He did, obviously,” you answer your friend’s question.
A day later, in P.E., she asked if it was you who confessed to him. She couldn’t let go of your – fake – relationship with Tsukishima, asking you questions about him and how it happened, if you both had kissed and went out on dates already.
It usually wouldn’t bother you, since you don’t really like Tsukishima that way, but the number of questions she’s asking makes you think she’s the one who has a crush on him. It makes you feel weird on the inside, as if something is wrong.
“You must’ve really impressed him,” she says as you both complete another lap around the soccer field, “I heard he’s…”
“He’s what?” you ask as she trails away. You both come to a stop, panting and sweating and you wait for her response, but she just shrugs.
“What?” You insist.
“Just… that he’s cold towards girls.”
You stare at her. It’s not like you’re offended by her statement, she’s actually right. You’ve never seen Tsukishima acting differently with any other girl, or boy, or anyone. It’s just the way he is. But why would that be a problem? You’re not really together.
“Rumors sure do fly fast.” You mumble as you walk down the street, Tsukishima by your side. He hums an answer, “Have any girls bothered you yet?”
“No, but it's only been a week.”
A chuckle leaves your lips. Crossed arms, you shiver as a cold breeze rushes past you.
“Any creeps bother you?”
You side eye him, smirking, “It's only been a week.”
The silence that follows walks on the line between comfortable and awkward. You want to say more, have a conversation with him, but it seems Tsukishima was comfortable with the silence between you two. And it's not like you have to be friends with him for this plan to work.
It's only been a week, but you've learned that Tsukishima is a quiet, reserved guy. Always listening to music, always in his own world. You don’t want to force him much.
Another cold breeze rushes past you and the shivers on your skin make you tremble. A sign the cold weather is about to come. Tightening the grip on yourself, you take a deep breath, trying to control the involuntary shivers, until you feel something warm around your shoulders.
His school club jacket.
You pause your steps to look at him, now sporting just his shirt and shorts. It takes him a second to realize you've stopped, so he looks back at you and raises a brow. The corners of your mouth pull into an amused smile, and he rolls his eyes at you, resuming his walk.
“We're supposed to be pretending, aren't we?” he says, shrugging. The smile on your face grows bigger, but you don't mention that no one from school is around, “Also, you're gonna get sick with your wet hair.”
You want to thank him and say you won't, but you're too afraid it'll scare him off. For now, you just bask in the warmth of his jacket as he walks you home.
Two weeks later, you don't show up at school for three days. On the fourth day, a shy girl approached Tsukishima saying she was the class rep for class one and asked if he could take you some homework you missed. He tried saying he had practice after school, but she insisted, since he was her boyfriend.
He thought about just showing up at your house after practice, but his guts told him he should check on you.
You live on the way to his house anyway, so he figured it wouldn’t hurt. At the end of the day, he tells Yamaguchi he’s going to skip practice, and, to his surprise, he just smiles at him, giving a knowing look.
“What?” Tsukki stares at his best friend.
Yamaguchi just shrugs, “Nothing.”
Tsukishima suspected something was on his mind, but he said nothing as he kept that look on his face.
The walk to your place is pleasant and quiet, just the way he likes it. He missed being able to be with his own thoughts, listening to his favorite band and just... being alone. But at the same time, walking by himself feels strange now. In the past week, he’s grown so accustomed to your presence that, when you missed classes, he...
He missed you.
Halting his steps at the realization, he notices your house at the top of the small hill. His heart does something that he doesn’t recognize. A feeling deep inside bothers him to the point he thinks it’s just a stomachache.
He also didn’t stop to think about how to introduce himself to your parents. The feeling only gets worse as he approaches your front door and rings the doorbell, expecting an adult to come to get him.
‘Just hand them the homework and leave’, he thinks to himself as he hears footsteps approaching and the door being unlocked.
To his surprise, it’s you who opens the door.
Pink colors his cheekbones as he notices you’re in your pajamas: sweatpants and a tank top that reveals much more than what his imagination can go. Your hair is a little messy and your face... You look so sleepy that he feels his heart skip a beat.
“Tsukki?” You say with a rough voice, bringing him back to reality, “What- what happened?”
“I-I...” He stutters and then clears his throat, “I brought your homework...”
Tsukishima digs through his backpack to get the stack of papers and hand it to you.
“Homework?” You say, frowning, “Isn’t that the class rep’s job?”
“Yeah, but she gave it to me instead.”
You scoff, taking the papers from him, which causes a coughing fit. At this moment the wind passes through you and you shiver.
“Get inside,” Tsukki tells you, “you’ll get worse.”
“Well, come in then.”
You give him space to walk inside your home. He does without thinking much nor hesitating. It’s like he’s always been here, like entering his best friend’s house.
“Are you alone?” he asks, taking in the living room. A blanket lays on the couch and the TV is paused on some movie you were watching.
“Yeah, my mom is working.”
You guide him to the living room, bunching up the blanket on a corner and giving him space to sit.
“And your dad?” he asks, carefully.
“On a work trip.”
“Oh.”
The silence that follows is definitely awkward enough for Tsukishima to be uncomfortable. He’s never been in a situation like this, alone with a girl in her house. It makes him nervous. Especially because it’s you.
“Would you like some tea?” Your offer comes right before another cough fit, followed by a sneeze.
Tsukishima sighs and reaches for the bunched up blanket beside you — trying to ignore how close you are —, wrapping it around your shoulders.
“Told you you’d get sick.” He mumbles, pulling the blanket so it gets right around you.
“Sorry.”
“Tch- don’t be sorry. I’ll make some tea.”
He stands up and goes toward the open kitchen, leaving you staring at his back as he walks away. Tsukki acts like he’s been at your place a million times: fills the electric kettle, looks for the tea in the cabinets and takes some honey from the counter. It’s only natural, he wants you to feel better.
And here you are, sick as a street dog, watching his movements with attention. His shirt rises when he stretches to reach the tea at the top cabinet – after you tell him where it is – and you see some hair on his lower abdomen. Your face immediately burns, but you can’t look away. You can’t help but stare. And you hate to admit it, but you like what you see.
“Are you feeling okay?” He asks, and you snap to reality.
“Uh, yeah, yeah.” You clear your throat and finally look away.
Tsukishima pours one cup for you and one for him. You watch his hands as he settles down on the couch again, his slender fingers hugging the ceramic of the mug as he hands it to you. When you take it, his skin brushes against yours gently. You feel your skin heating up again.
If he notices, he says nothing. You take a sip from the tea and almost burn your tongue at the temperature, but your eyes are fixated on his hands. The protuberant veins on his pale skin and the size of his palms, his fingers. One of them catches your attention, his pinky finger is different from the others.
“What?” his voice brings you back to reality and you look at him to find him staring back.
You don't know why you decide to go with the truth.
“Your pinky.
He gives you a puzzled look. Clearing your throat, you speak louder.
“Your right pinky. It's different.”
Tsukishima raises his hand to show you his crooked finger. “Oh. I broke it in the finals for the Spring tournament in my first year. They just taped it together and it never healed right.”
“Oh...” without thinking much, you reach for his hand, your finger pads rubbing against the curve of his pinky. The warmth from his skin radiates to yours and you like the sensation of his hands on yours.
“I thought the whole school was there...” He mumbles and you let go of his hand. The warmth for your tea isn't sufficient to warm the lack of his touch.
“If it was in Spring, I wasn't.” You sigh, “Swimming trials start in April. I was trying to get into the Summer swimming competition.”
“Did you get in?”
“No,” you say with a smile, “but I watched the Nationals.”
“Oh?” His eyes light up a little and you think it's adorable.
“Yeah, on the TV.” You see him visibly deflate. You don't think he knows he's doing that, but you don't mention it anyway, “It was pretty exciting. You guys deserved it.”
Tsukishima looks at you as if he discovered a new star. It's not written on his face, but you can see it in his eyes, and you don’t know if it’s the fever or something else, but your chest constricts and your stomach churns. There’s a silence, tense seconds pass by.
“Can I ask you something?” Tsukki asked and you nodded, encouraging him to do it, “Who are the creeps you always talk about?”
Your smile fades away and your eyes tear the gaze from his. Sighing, you consider giving an evasive answer or just lying, but you decide to tell him the truth.
“Just some guys from the boys swimming team. Sometimes they watch our practice and make comments about me.”
“What kind of comments?” He breathes, trying to control his anger. Tsukki didn’t want you to realize he felt protective of you, but with his flushed face and inflated nostrils, he couldn’t hide much.
“Just some nasty comments about my body.”
A tense pause hangs heavily between you both. Tsukishima is thinking of all the ways he can beat up those creeps. It's weird that he feels so protective of you, you’re not really his girlfriend, but hearing you talk about this and not doing anything about it feels wrong.
“It’s not just me, though.” you continue, “It’s all the girls.”
“Your coach doesn’t say anything?”
“We tried to tell her once, and she did talk to their coach, but it only made the insults worse...”
He says your name, making you look at him. You see something in his eyes, something you’ve never seen before.
“If you want, I can—”
“No, it’s fine, I—”
“Hey.” Tsukishima grabs your shoulders, with the intention of forcing you to look at him and listen. His touch burns on your skin, and you grow hot as his amber eyes stare intensely into yours, “This is why we’re doing this, right? You said it yourself, I'd keep the creeps away.”
You pause for a second wondering why he’s suddenly acting like this. “Y-yeah, but you don’t have to do anything... I... I thought that if they saw I had a boyfriend, they would stop, but...”
“They didn’t.” He finishes your sentence. You just shake your head, looking away.
Tsukishima suddenly feels the urge to kiss you, to make your pain go away. His eyes stare at your lips for a moment as he wonders if they’re as soft as they look. He wonders how they would feel against his own lips, against his skin, against—
You look back at him, eyes meeting his, a curious expression on your face, as if you know what he’s thinking about. Then, he suddenly stands up from the couch, startling you.
“I-I should go,” he says, clearing his throat, “but once you feel better and you go back to school, I’ll deal with the creeps.”
You stand up from your spot as well, meeting his eyes, “Tsukki, I—”
“It’s not up for discussion.” His voice sounds lower, darker even. It lights a fire in you that you don’t recognize. “Text me if you need anything.”
With that, he leaves your house, leaving you to feel confused and puzzled.
The following week, you finally feel better enough to go back to school. The flu has gotten better, but you’re still not able to swim – medical orders – until you feel one hundred percent well. So after classes, you just hang out at the library until Tsukishima is done with practice. You miss swimming, but the peace and quiet of the library is a nice break from your hectic days. Or at least it was. As soon as they entered the place, you knew you were going to have a hard time.
Their comments about your swimming abilities, your body, your hair and even your – fake – relationship with Tsukishima, come to your mind and you quickly slip out of the place before they can notice you. You hate that they have such an effect on you like that, you want to admit you don't care, but you do. Of course you do, when they're calling you names and laughing at everything you do.
Walking around the school, you find yourself at the volleyball gymnasium, staring at the open door. Inside, Tsukki and his friends are doing serving and receiving exercises, and, before you can think too much about it, you cross the entry, passing through the protective net used to keep the balls from escaping.
A ball flies over your head and hits the wall beside you, making you gasp and jump in your place. Everyone looks at you. Swallowing, you quickly remove your shoes and offer them a small bow before running to the bleachers.
Tsukki looks at you with a puzzled face, and then jumps at the sound of the coach barking some orders. The rest of practice goes like it usually does, except there's a tiny voice inside his head telling him that you're watching. Deep down, he feels like he has to practice harder, do better, just because you're watching. By the end of the practice, he's sweating, overheating and catching his breath more than usual.
He avoided looking at the bleachers during practice, but now, when he takes a peek, he catches you staring at him. You quickly look away, heat creeping on your cheeks. He can't help but smile.
Days are getting dark sooner now, so when you leave the gymnasium to meet him, it's already dusk. The sky is a mixture of bright oranges and blues. You wait for him to get changed into his uniform as you watch the sun go away. A cold breeze rushes through you and you shiver, wishing you'd brought your uniform jacket instead of just a sweater.
A warm fabric falls on your shoulders, the familiar scent of fabric softener and Omnigel immediately invading your nostrils. Tsukishima's large hand rests on the top of your head, catching you by surprise. There's no one around to show off your fake relationship, so the affectionate gesture confuses you.
“Hey,” you say, forcing a smile.
“What's wrong?” He asks, noticing your glassy eyes.
“Nothing,” you respond too quickly.
He stares at you, amber eyes studying you with suspicion, “You have a weird look on your face.”
“It's just my face.”
Tsukki says your name, making you sigh and close your eyes. How is he able to read you so easily like this?
“Was it the creeps?” He asks, and you cringe, “What did they do?”
When you look at Tsukishima, you notice the anger and his eyes. Heat creeps on your cheeks at the thought of him protecting you.
“N-nothing.” You stutter, “I was at the library and they came in… They didn't even see me though!” You quickly add, “I just– I just didn't want to face them…”
He keeps quiet for a moment until he takes your hand in a bold move.
“Tomorrow we're going to face them,” He says matter-of-factly, dragging you away from the gymnasium.
“Tsu–”
“This is why we're doing this.” He interrupts you, “I don't care what you think they're gonna say, we're gonna show you're mine now.”
As quick as the words leave his mouth, he freezes, eyes wide, cheeks red in embarrassment. He doesn't look at you, as he stops walking, hand squeezing yours harder.
“Kei…” you say, stomach doing somersaults, breath quickening.
“Shut up.” He pulls you away, walking faster.
The rest of the walk home is spent in silence.
Tsukishima couldn't remember the last time he rode a bike to school, but here he is at your doorstep, hands on the handlebars tightening their grip. He wasn't sure if you'd want to see him after what he said last night, but when he knocked on your door, the look on your face changed from surprised to amused. You asked for a minute to finish getting ready and left him waiting outside.
The tension between you two is palpable, as you walk side by side to school.
When you walk through the school grounds hand in hand, Tsukishima avoids eye contact, seemingly lost in his thoughts.
The morning is a mix of anticipation and nervousness. Tsukishima's determination to confront the creeps is evident, and you find yourself caught in the whirlwind of his protective stance. The rumors about your relationship spread like wildfire, everyone knew you were together, but seeing you holding hands just adds an extra layer of complexity to the situation.
He rests a hand on your head when you reach your classroom, “See you later.”
Nodding, you feel your cheeks burning as you enter the classroom. All eyes are on you when you take a seat. Your friends tease you all morning.
This agreement certainly took an unexpected turn.
“You ready?” Tsukki asks you, taking your hand again. Lunch break was cut short when he approached you. Nodding, you swallow hard, confused by the swirl of emotions that hit you.
As you approach the library, you notice the creeps already there, smirking and whispering among themselves. Tsukishima tightens his grip on your hand, a silent reassurance that he's by your side. With a confident stride, you both enter the library, facing the unwelcome attention head-on.
The creeps pause their conversation, their eyes widening at the unexpected sight of you two together. You can sense the shift in the atmosphere as Tsukishima directs a stern gaze towards them. Your heart races, unsure of how this confrontation will unfold.
Unexpectedly, Tsukishima speaks up, his voice cutting through the library's silence. "Enough with the comments and disrespect. Keep your opinions to yourselves. She's not interested, and we're not tolerating any more of your nonsense."
The creeps, taken aback by Tsukishima's assertiveness, exchange uneasy glances. You stand there, witnessing a side of him you hadn't seen before. The library, once a place of discomfort, transforms into a battleground where Tsukishima defends your honor.
As the creeps mumble half-hearted apologies and disperse, Tsukishima's grip on your hand relaxes. He looks at you, his amber eyes softening. "Let's go," he says, leading you out of the library.
You're not sure they'll stop their nasty comments towards you, but for now, an easy smile spreads on your lips and warmth blooms inside you.
The following days bring a surprising calm to your interactions with Tsukishima. The fake relationship begins to feel less like a facade and more like a shared understanding. The library incident becomes a turning point, and the creeps keep their distance, realizing the futility of their attempts.
As weeks pass, the dynamics between you and Tsukishima evolve. The protective facade turns into genuine concern, and you find solace in his company. The popular, mysterious boy on the rooftop becomes a reliable presence in your life, and the unspoken agreement transforms into a connection that goes beyond pretense.
One day, as you both sit on the familiar rooftop during lunch break, enjoying the peace and quiet, Tsukishima breaks the silence. "You know, this fake relationship thing has its perks. No more creeps bothering you, and I get some peace too."
You chuckle, appreciating the humor in his words. The genuine laughter resonates in the air, and in that moment, you realize that what started as a charade has woven the threads of a unique bond between you and Tsukishima.
As the school year progresses, the fake relationship becomes less about keeping up appearances and more about navigating the complexities of your emotions. The rooftop meetings turn into genuine conversations, and the agreement transforms into a shared understanding.
As graduation approaches, you can't help the bittersweet feeling that grows inside you. Uncertainty about your future makes its way to your mind in the form of anxiety and dreams about Tsukishima ending things with you. It makes you feel stupid, there's nothing there to end.
You can't deny there are some feelings for him inside you.
“I got in.” He interrupts your thoughts, making you look up from him from your egg sandwich. It's a breezy February afternoon, and you're on lunch break, back on the rooftop. He's leaning on the railway and you're sitting on the bench as usual. “Sendai University.”
The sandwich is soon forgotten as you get up and wrap your arms around his shoulders, smiling widely at him. “Congratulations!” You mumble on his neck, your soft lips touching the skin of his neck.
Tsukki takes half a second to hug you back. In the past few weeks, physical contact has become more common between. Although he's still not used to it, he welcomes you gladly as the warmth of your body radiates to him.
“Seems like we're going to the same university,” he says with a smirk. Looking into his eyes, you remember, just last week telling him you've been accepted at Sendai University as well.
“Yeah…” you breathe, fully aware that your lips are centimeters apart.
He would've kissed you. You swear, if it wasn't for the bell ringing just in time for you to pull away and him clear his throat. A blush stained his cheekbones pink as you smiled to yourself. Your story with him isn't over yet.
The day before graduation is filled with tears and poignant laughter. You say goodbye to your friends you know you won't see until graduation, swim at the gymnasium pool for the last time and wait for Tsukishima by the volleyball gymnasium, sipping strawberry milk you bought from the vending machine.
You don't turn around when you hear him and his friends leaving the gymnasium, or when you hear one of them point you out. You don't turn around when you hear his footsteps approaching you. When he stands in front of you, your eyes meet his. He's smirking, sweat glistening on his skin.
You don't care.
The strawberry milk box falls on the ground as his lips press against yours.
His skin is soft as you wrap your arms around his sweaty neck. Gasping when his tongue brushes against yours in a messy kiss, you pull him closer.
In the end, what started as a simple plan to ward off unwanted attention becomes a chapter in your high school story—a chapter filled with laughter, unexpected connections, and the realization that sometimes, the most genuine bonds are formed in the most unconventional ways.

Hope you’re doing great!! I’m obsessed with your writing. What do you think Bully!Tsukishima would act if someone else tries to bully his crybaby?
~ Anon ❄️
i'm good thank you!! i hope you're well too! i hope you enjoy how bully tsukki reacts <3
Tumblr media
it never even crossed his mind that someone else might try and bully you and if it did it was fleetingly and on occasions when he heard someone laugh at something he did to you, the thought didn't bother him. in his eyes it doesn't matter, if someone did start teasing you then that's your problem, it doesn't affect him.
although it really does.
when it actually does happen properly and he realises someone is genuinely bothering you it then becomes a reality and he has to deal with it.
you never hid that someone else was upsetting you and teasing you, tsukishima would never care about it anyway. coincidentally he found you one day taking deep breaths and sniffling as you're trying to breathe correctly after being tormented by someone who has started bullying you and they were crueller than anyone you've ever met before.
tsukki never thought he'd see the day where he would see you cry and not take some amount of pleasure in it but seeing you desperately try to calm down from something he didn't know about filled him with serious dread. something he has never felt so strongly before.
he crouches down to your level to where you were sitting and you jump not realising he was there in the first place. he frowns and tilts your head up so he can look at you and wipe the tears off of your face with his thumb but the tears just keep coming. "talk to me princess," he says gruffly.
you shake your head vehemently.
tsukishima clenches his jaw at what he believes is your ridiculous behaviour. "don't be a baby, talk to me."
"you won't care," you reply quietly.
"won't care about what?" if you were anyone else he'd likely have lost interest in trying to help someone so stubborn by now but you're you. if people don't want to accept his help and keep refusing to cooperate with him the majority of the time he stops trying to help, the only real exemptions are his brother and yamaguchi but even they know better than to test tsukishima's patience on this kind of thing.
"someone's being mean to me," you say while trying to stop crying.
tsukishima scoffs. "so what?" he pauses for a second before continuing, "is this why you're in here hiding away? so what if someone is being mean taking away your pen and you cry your eyes out."
you shake your head again but meekly this time, "they're being really mean tsukishima." he doesn't say anything and just looks at you. because of his gaze on you you feel his scrutiny so you come clean completely and tell him, "they're bullying me."
tsukishima just goes completely still because no one else can treat you like that. no one else can make you cry, at least not over something so serious, not over something that really upsets and affects you. not if that person or persons are bullying you. you're his, only he is allowed to do that to you. no one should make you cry. he can accept you crying if you thought someone looked at you funny or took a belonging of yours or teased you a little because you cry all the time, but this? he's not having this.
he wets his lips and looks up, taking a deep breath and trying to stop his anger from rising to the top. he's not an angry person, no one ever would assume he was an angry person and they'd be right, he's not and he never thought he would be but the idea of someone bullying you, the idea that someone is being really mean to you, that pisses him off because its not like before when he thought you where overreacting like the crybaby you are about someone mildly teasing you on one occasion, this is serious. "who?"
"does it really matter?" you fiddle with your fingers, finally calming down a bit and having less tears flowing down your chubby cheeks.
"yes, it matters."
you tell him their name and tsukishima notes it to memory.
tsukishima kisses your forehead and lifts you up, resisting the urge to kneed your soft wide hips as you stand up. "come on, lets get you something to eat and drink." it's extremely rare that tsukishima ever is seen with you in public alone but he takes you to a vending machine outside in campus.
you think he did this because it's quieter out here so there's less people and less people to recognise the two of you together but in actuality it was the closet place from where you were and he wanted you to drink something as soon as possible with how much you were crying. he's never seen you cry that much and that's saying something, the man who gets off on seeing you and making you cry not ever able to make you cry as you just have been... (yet)
that person never bothers you again. not once. why? you don't know but you're guessing tsukishima had something to do with it.
the thing with tsukishima is that he is actually very popular and is friends with people that are also popular so one bad word about someone spreads like wildfire. there are so many rumours about him in just one day it's crazy, that's when tsukishima decides to have his own private conversation with them. "your social life is a wreck your club is thinking about kicking you off the team because of all those allegations. they might be fake but really who would they believe out of the two of us? you bother my girl again, i'll make it worse. if you even talk to her or look at her i'll make sure these rumours follow you for the rest of your life."
no one talks to your bully any more but tsukishima kept his promise to not make even more extreme rumours. after he was kicked off his basketball team he was content. he'd never done anything like this before because it's not like him at all it's not in his character. so he doubts he'll ever do it again... that is unless someone else tries to bully you. they need to learn their place after all. don't touch things that aren't yours to touch.

“dump your bf if he’s never given you flowers before”
Tumblr media
He tries to console himself.
Really, he does.
He tells himself that it’s really not that serious, and all you did was like a tweet saying to dump your boyfriend if he’s never given you flowers before.
Has he ever given you flowers?
He thinks of your one month anniversary, then your six month, then your one year, then your two year anniversary, and how none of them were spent with a beautiful flowery confection in your hands.
He recalls your first date, how it was spent inside a small cafe where you both spilled your hearts to one another. He knows he never bought you any flowers. Yamaguchi proposed the idea, but he quickly shut him off with a, “what kind of bullshit is that? It’s only the first date, that’s too… romantic, I guess.”
Fuck, he should’ve listened to him. Yamaguchi is never wrong. Never.
He’s learned his lesson now.
The next time he sees you (an excruciating ten minutes after he’s seen your liked tweet) he sits you down on his lap.
“What’s this for?” You smile, and it’s that pretty one that nearly makes Tsukishima melt down to the ground.
“I have a question.”
“Okay,” you grab his cheeks into your two palms and squish his face together. He normally hates the action and immediately pushes your hands away, but he doesn’t have time for that now. Not when you’d break up with him for not buying you flowers.
“Would you ever break up with me?”
Your head tilts to the side in genuine confusion. Break up with your Kei?
“Don’t think too much into it.” He flicks your forehead gently. He can already tell your train of thought, and how you tend to overthink every detail of your life, so he slows your brain down.
“Uh, maybe if you cheated on me? But I think I’d kill you before I broke up with you, yeah.”
Okay. Yeah. He’s fine with that answer. He can live with that.
Tumblr media
Maybe he can’t.
It’s been nearly a month since he last asked you that question, and it still haunts him to this day.
He thinks that maybe one day you’ll come home and tell him that you’re sick of him, that he doesn’t deserve you, and you’ll pack all your bags and leave.
It stresses him out so much, that he vents. He vents. To Bokuto Kōtarō of all people. (He’s gone mad!)
Bokuto does the most Bokuto thing you’d expect, and gives Tsukishima the most obvious answer.
“Well why don’t you just buy them flowers then?”
“It’s not that easy, dumbass.”
“I think it is… I mean, you’re sad you haven’t bought them flowers, so buy them flowers. Problem fixed.”
He leaves the conversation utterly dissatisfied. Until the next day, at 3AM, Tsukishima Kei has a eureka! moment.
“I’ll just buy them flowers!”
(He jolts out of bed with a force so strong that he wakes you up.
You groan, sleepy and with drool at the corner of your mouth, “what are you yelling for? Go back to bed, Kei.”
“Yeah,” he whispers, to nobody in particular, “I’ll just buy you flowers.)
He leaves the house that morning, at around 9AM with a mission in mind. He’s going to the flower shop.
-
Tsukishima enters the small store with hesitation, staring at all the beautiful plants and flowers with skepticism. Which ones would you like? What if you’re allergic to the one he picks out?
“Hello? How can I help you, sir?” A nice lady with a baby pink apron approaches him. She smiles, and Tsukishima thinks he’s being far too dramatic. It’s just some flowers.
“Uh, I’m looking for flowers that send the message of ‘I love you’ or something like that.”
The lady smiles even brighter.
-
Your boyfriend walks into your home with a bouquet of red roses and baby’s-breath blooms. The arrangement is huge, big enough to cover the entirety of your Kei’s head.
“What’s this?” You ask, when he approaches you and places the roses on your lap.
“They’re for you.”
“Really?” Your eyes are as bright as he’s ever seen them, as dazzling as the sun in the sky.
And he can’t believe that he’s deprived himself of this. Of seeing you so happy over something so mundane—so simple—that your eyes shine brighter than all the lights in the night sky.
He loves you. And you love your Kei. (And those red roses, too.)

For cartwheels
word count; 1062 – gn!reader, inspired by my desperate dream of doing a cartwheel
Tumblr media
Tsukishima Kei was so happy to get home after a long day at the museum where he worked, desperate to spend the evening inside in your company. Unfortunately, he married you, so he could never get the peace he wanted for free.
You were standing awkwardly on the lawn in front of your house when he exited the car. Your husband walked closer slowly as if approaching a dangerous animal. “Why are you out here, brat?” he asked affectionately, but then he saw the tear trickling down from your eye. “What’s wrong?”
With a sniffle, you lift your arm and wipe at the tear before pouting at him, shoulders shaking a little but he wasn’t sure if it was sobs or oncoming laughter because it seemed like a mixture of both. “I so desperately want to do a cartwheel,” you explained, letting another tear fall.
“I’m sorry, what?” he asked, wondering if he heard you right as he straight up stopped and just stared at you.
“I suddenly got this intense urge to do a cartwheel, but I can’t do a cartwheel!”
“Have you tried, are you hurt?” he asked, this time wondering if maybe you had tried already and that was why you were crying.
“I just told you, I can’t do cartwheels. I’m stuck walking around like some lame person.” you insisted, walking around in a circle as if for emphasis. He covered his mouth with his hand, acting as if he was thinking and even putting the other hand on his hip for the act, but really he was just trying not to laugh at you when you were feeling so emotional. He didn’t understand why this made you cry, and he probably never would. There are many times in this marriage where you tested his patience, but he never loved you any less.
After basking in this weird energy for a minute, he put his bag down and started rolling up his sleeves. “Just try it.”
You wrung your hands and swayed your body a bit like a little kid who is about to ask their parent for something. “Will you try with me? I’m scared that the neighbours will see me do it alone and think I’m weird.”
“God forbid they think that,” he mumbled sarcastically, making you lightly slap his chest. He blinked in disbelief, so close to just saying no, but there was something about the way you looked at him like he could save your entire day. “I can call Yamaguchi and ask if he wants to come over for a playdate?” he asked, bratty as ever despite his affection for you.
“I want you! This is what I married you for,” you said, always turning overly dramatic when Tsukki fought against you.
Once again, he deadpanned as he looked at you, silently asking if you were serious. “You married me to do cartwheels together in our garden?”
You grinned innocently and shrugged your shoulders. “Amongst other things.”
His eyes fell closed, pinching between them with his pointer finger and thumb. Tsukishima actually couldn’t believe he was about to agree, except yes he could. He was so smitten with you that there was no doubt in his mind he would eventually agree anyway. “Fine, but you have to make dinner after I break both my arms and legs.”
Completely ignoring his dramatics, you clap your hands excitedly. “You’re the athlete, you have to go first.” His eyes were cursing you, but he still got ready, breathing in and out as his eyes measured the space he had. You giggled and stood at the side, cheering for him like a cheerleader. “Go, Tsukki!”
“It’s Kei to you,” he said, breaking his concentration again because nothing was worth his time more than bickering with you.
“Do the cheerleaders at your games call you that?” you argued with a scrunched nose, reminding him you could be just as stubborn.
“No, but I’m not married to them!” he said, finally reaching the level of exasperated.
You giggle, always happy to hear him say you’re married. “Let’s go, baby, while the sun is up.”
It’s such a bratty line that he considered refusing again, but he finally got ready so that the two of you could get it over with. If you hadn’t been cheering for him, you would have heard him mumble a quick “Lucky I love you” before he finally lifted his arms and tried to do a cartwheel across the grass.
It wasn’t that bad, honestly. He did just fine at first but then forgot to steady himself and one leg just followed the other and the next thing he knew, he was sitting on the ground with his glasses askew. You cheered loudly as Tsukishima straightened up his glasses and huffed. “Was it exhilarating?” you asked, holding out a hand to help him up.
“I’m never doing it again,” he insisted while you pulled him up. He squeezed your hand and gestured with his free hand towards the open space. “Your turn.”
An excited giggle left your mouth as you moved to where he stood previously, but your face fell abruptly when he just watched you silently. “Are you not going to cheer?”
He pursed his lips and lifted a hand like the Statue of Liberty, followed by a weak “Go, go, let’s go!”
That was more than enough to satisfy you, as you put up your hands and skipped for a step or two before tumbling across the lawn. It didn’t last for long, and you weren’t particularly good at it. But your laugh when you landed was enough of a sign to Kei that his mission succeeded. You were happy.
He helped you up and pulled you to his chest. The neighbours were totally watching you. “Was is exhilarating?” he asked you back.
“My butt hurts,” you complained, but it was still mixed with laughter.
He chuckled. It sounded like music to your ears. The soft kind of chuckle that caressed your heart and reminded you he was the one. “Mine too, honey.”
As you started making your way inside, Kei had his arm over your shoulders and yours was stretched across his back while he told you about his day. All you could do was stare up at him in wonder. That’s the man you married. In sickness and in health, for cartwheels and other things.
masterlist
/I got to the part where the reader asks him to join and suddenly realised I had no idea what character I was writing for, so I started imagining every moody haikyuu character doing cartwheels.

# tsukishima kei - wait
Tumblr media
a/n = ahh i fear this might be too out of character T-T also i've been so busy with reading jjk lately i might just start writing for it too
summary = old feelings to a certain blonde resurface and are accidentally revealed by none other than tipsy you.
warnings = making out, mentions of alcohol (all characters are aged up a bit so they can legally drink), nothing else i think
Tumblr media
his eyes were glued to you the entire night.
you noticed, obviously. the bar you decided to meet up at was just big enough for all of you to fit inside, the long-awaited karasuno volleyball team reunion finally happening. it's been a few years since high school ended for you and your friends, saying your emotional goodbyes as you all went your separate ways.
but it was the hardest thing in the world for you to say goodbye to tsukishima kei.
it wasn't a secret that you had a crush on him ever since you saw him for the first time, sitting right in front of you in your english class as you gently pat his shoulder, asking if he had a spare pencil in the quietest whisper you could let out. you were hooked from that moment on; and yet for the entirety of high school, you didn't act up on your feelings, not even once.
as cold as he was to most people around, tsukishima seemed to treat you just the slightest bit differently. he would always lend you money if you forgot yours for lunch, making sure to call you an idiot in the process as he put the coins inside the vending machine, getting your favorite drink. helping you out with studying, something other first years could only dream of, and doing all that without you having to beg him for it. a sight so genuinely rare that even yamaguchi himself was surprised.
everyone always asked one question; 'why didn't you confess?' maybe it was the fact that you were scared of ruining your perfectly good friendship. maybe you were afraid of it affecting the dynamics in your friend group, or maybe you were just terrified that he wouldn't treat you seriously.
so when you found yourself lying in his apartment, the soft pillow from his couch under your head as he hovered over you, lips attached to yours in an eager kiss, you were almost sure it was all just a dream. the few drinks you had downed earlier definitely helped your confidence in that moment, as you were the one to start all of this, but it still felt unreal to be in this situation right now.
tsukishima breathed heavily, his hand squeezing your hip, thumb lazily drawing circles on it as he used the other one to keep himself from falling with all of his weight on top of you. he was sure it wouldn't end well for you, considering how he was significantly bigger. he gasped as he felt your hand traveling to his hair, lightly tugging on it as you deepened the kiss.
"wish i've done that sooner," you mumbled lazily in between kisses, his lips quickly back on yours as his hand wandered higher, resting on your cheek gently. you were surprised to see him pull away, the faintest smile on his face as his eyes locked with yours.
"i know." your eyes widened at his response, the alcohol slightly clouding your mind seemingly dissapearing from your body entirely. "can't believe it took you five drinks and all these years of waiting to actually say it."
you immediately sat up, eyes as big as ever, face flushed a deep shade of red (from both the alcohol and the embarrassment) as you looked away from him, your hands coming up to hide your face. tsukishima still hovered over you, his signature grin gracing his face as he chuckled at your state.
"don't tell me you knew all this time." he could barely hear you mumble, your hands stopping most of the sound from coming out. you didn't want to believe it, but at the same time, tsukishima was damn smart. and he wasn't blind, either; he could probably see how you tried your best at hiding your feelings from everyone.
"yamaguchi told me at the end of our third year." he shook his head, a small laugh leaving his lips. "apparently he was 'fed up with the mutual pining', or whatever he said."
"mutual?" you whispered as you slowly uncovered your still red face, tsukishima shifting to sit down next to you. a sigh left his lips, his eyes closed for a few seconds, as if to muster up the courage for whatever he was about to say.
"you know i'm not good with expressing my emotions, and i definitely was even more shit at it in high school." he started explaining, eyes looking everywhere else but you. "only yamaguchi knew about me liking you, but when he finally told me that you actually liked me back i was..."
"scared you wouldn't be able to survive a long distance relationship since you knew i was going away for college and that it would ruin our entire friend group if we didn't work out."
he looked at you, a stoic expression on his face as if to say that you got that correctly.
"tch. you're being annoying reading in my mind like that, you know?" his words made you giggle, his hand up to gently flick you in the forehead. in reality, tsukishima was glad you finished that sentence for him; he probably wouldn't be able to express himself correctly if you didn't step in. "yamaguchi still curses me out for it."
you took a deep breath, thinking of your next words.
"you know, we could always try it." his head turned towards you, a puzzled look. "when we finish college. if you're willing to wait, that is."
tsukishima smiled, at it almost took your breath away. he didn't smile much, and even if he did, it was almost never like this. this time, it was the most genuine smile you ever saw from him; warm and gentle.
"of course i am. you don't even know for how long."

"𝐎𝐡? 𝐒𝐡𝐞'𝐬 𝐦𝐲 𝐠𝐢𝐫𝐥𝐟𝐫𝐢𝐞𝐧𝐝, 𝐢𝐝𝐢𝐨𝐭"
Tumblr media
Warnings ⚠ : cussing! & ALL CHARACTERS ARE 16+ (probably old enough to date idk)
Pairing : Tsukishima Kei x f!reader
Type : Summary Writing
Summary : tsukishima invited his volleyball teammates to his home to hangout and eat suppers together at night, what they didn't know is that.. Tsukishima was dating you and they just figured it out NOW
Tumblr media
"Baby my friends are coming over soon, you okay with that? " Tsukishima said politely as you turned your head to him, "oh sure! Is it your volleyball friends? " you asked curiously as he turned on his phone to check the messages "yeah" he said.
"Oh alright, I don't mind them having them around lmao" you said as you were doing your homework "oh they are here" Tsukishima said as he walked out of the door, you were 𝘵𝘰𝘰 curious to know his volleyball teammates so you followed.
Opening the door was tsukishima's job, the second his hand opened the door, Tanaka and Nishinoya bust inside with full laughter, "HAH! I TOLD YOU I WAS GONNA BE THE FIRST TO STEP IN TSUKISHIMA'S HOME!! " Tanaka mockingly said as Nishinoya denied.
"NO YOU LIAR! I WAS THE FIRST! " Nishinoya yelled as he landed a hard smack on tanakas back, "can you guys shut the fuck up? We are here to have a nice supper hangout.." Tsukishima annoyingly said as Daichi shot them a dead glare
"Eh.. Sorry.. " Nishinoya and Tanaka mumbled as Hinata slowly explored the house, "Oi Hinata, don't go explore yet, we need to help prepare dinner right? " Kageyama said as Hinata signed "okay.. ˚‧º·(˚ ˃̣̣̥˂̣̣̥ )‧º·˚"
"What are we eating for tonight? "
"Uhm, just some barbeque I guess? Yamaguchi is preparing them right now at the back. "
"BARBEQUE?!?!?! "
"I WANT SOME TOO! "
"TANAKA! LET'S HAVE A EATING COMPETITION! WINNER GETS TO HUG KIYOKO!! "
"BET!! "
"TANAKA! NISHINOYA! QUIET DOWN!!!! "
Tumblr media
Everyone was happily eating and chewing on the barbeque, you decided to come out and eat some too, "eh? Who's that? " Tanaka said with heart shaped eyes, "she looks so pretty.. I ain't betraying kiyoko though!!!" Nishinoya said with a pout on his face.
"Baby, are there any barbeque left? " you said as everyone was staring at you weirdly, 𝘰𝘬.. 𝘉𝘶𝘵 𝘸𝘩𝘰 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘧𝘶𝘤𝘬 𝘸𝘦𝘳𝘦 𝘺𝘰𝘶 𝘤𝘢𝘭𝘭𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝙗𝙖𝙗𝙮? But oh.. People weren't ready to hear the 𝘢𝘯𝘴𝘸𝘦𝘳𝘴.
"Oh, yes we do. Have some here" Tsukishima kindly said as he placed some pork and beef on your plastic plate, "thanks baby! " you said as everyone silently observed, until when tsukishima turned his head to see everyone creepily staring at his soul..
"W-what the actual fuck? Why are you guys creepily staring at me like that?.. " tsukishima said as he became freaked out. "W-WHO WAS AND WHY WERE THEY CALLING YOU B-BABY?!?! " Tanaka suddenly jumped back. "Y-yeah.. WHO WAS THAT?!?!?! " nishinoya butted in, causing more noise than ever.
Tsukishima signed as Yamaguchi slowly giggled, "𝙤𝙝? 𝙎𝙝𝙚'𝙨 𝙢𝙮 𝙜𝙞𝙧𝙡𝙛𝙧𝙞𝙚𝙣𝙙, 𝙞𝙙𝙞𝙤𝙩." Tsukishima said slowly laughing as everyone's jaw dropped.
They couldn't believe tsukishima.. Pulled a gorgeous delicious girl like 𝙮𝙤𝙪.
Tumblr media
Sorry if the last sentence creeped you out LMAOOOO but anyways sorry this was a bit short, I was writing this during eating dinner 😭 anyways bye lovelies!

⋆。♪ ₊ haikyuu boys as band members.
HINATA SHOYO, rhythm guitarist.
hinata would love to play the electric guitar more than any other instrument, it always caught his eyes and ears, and he's always wanted to master playing it. he's never played an instrument before in his life, though he is quite good with his hands and fingers, and is a fast learner (when he gets it). and he also keeps great timing and rhythm with his bassist. he did struggle at first when learning the chords and simple songs to practice playing on the electric guitar, and forgetting to plug the damn thing into an amplifier, but after a lot of practice, he got way better; and in his first year, he joined the band club, impressing his seniors with a guitar lick he managed to pull off on the first try. up to this day, he can't believe he pulled that off, yet has forgotten how to recreate it...
KAGEYAMA TOBIO, bassist.
kageyama's first encounter with the bass would be when he was in kindergarten. miwa used to play the bass for after school gigs with her friends at their place, and little tobio was so enamored with how the bass sounded as a young toddler that the sounds and vibrations of the bass were usually what put the young blueberry boy to sleep. his grandfather also taught him how to play the bass, he taught miwa how to play when she was his age, though the only difference between the two of them was that tobio took it much more to heart than his sister did. he believed the soul of a song lay with its rhythm, its timing, and without the bassist, the song wouldn't flourish; it couldn't pulsate with life. he became hinata's bassist, and he constantly criticizes hinata for his careless strumming when he senses he's off-beat. he probably has a sixth sense that knows hinata's gonna be off-beat at a certain point during a song or practice, it's like his superpower, apart from being a pro bass player.
TSUKISHIMA KEI, drummer.
tsukishima had only recently learned how to play the drums, he had always observed his older brother playing them when he would practice in his room; it felt like little kei was in the world's most exciting concert every time his older brother would play a segment of a song he really liked. though now that he plays the drums, he looks back and thinks about how easy it must've been to impress him as a child, because now, he realizes that it wasn't too big of a deal to sit there, listening to these bickering simpletons while yamaguchi helped cease tensions between the two. he doesn't like the fact he has to announce their band's stupid and constantly changing names, it makes him feel frustrated every time he introduces the band, only to learn the two have changed the band name again to something more ridiculous. he has impeccable rhythm and timing, though, but he feels pissed off whenever kageyama sends a glare his way, signaling that he's lagging a bit behind on the timing.
KOZUME KENMA, DJ + keytarist.
kenma didn't originally want to be part of a band, but when kuroo kept urging him to use his talent at the piano to help him put together his dream band. if it weren't for kuroo, kenma would've abandoned his talent at the piano long, long ago. kenma has experimented with other instruments throughout their time as a band, he got into DJ-ing during middle school, which kuroo thought was the coolest thing ever. a lot of the audience members sometimes judge him for having inconsistent instruments during some shows, but he never fails to impress them with his skills at both instruments. after a show, kenma is beat, he lays down on a bench, just trying to sleep, but kuroo and the others try to get him to come get dinner with them to celebrate their successful show. and as much as it inconveniences kenma in many ways... he doesn't mind being appreciated for his efforts, though it is quite obnoxious.

first date with haikyu boys - pt.1
he’s very excited to see you and for some reason afraid that you changed your mind. so when he sees you looking mesmerizing and breathtaking, the poor boy loses his ability to speak. he nervously swallows as his eyes widen gazing you up and down. you giggle and ask if he likes your look. the only word you could get out of him is “perfect”. his whole plan of impressing you has collapsed the second he saw you. and now he’s trying not to look at you in order to have at least a small talk with you. at first you want to ask him what’s wrong but as soon as you see the blush on his cheeks the question is withdrawn. when you reach an arcade he suddenly turns to you, rapidly exhales and starts chattering “okay, please, don’t think i’m childish, i just really think that you’d like this one and…” you softly stop him “i do like it.” his eyes that were drilling the floor, now shining and he finally has the courage to take your hand. you think about how precious his genuine happiness is when he says “thank god, i’m mentally ready to impress you again.” you can’t help it but chuckle at his comment and reply “if you didn’t impress me first i wouldn’t be here by now.” and that’s the moment he becomes all anxious again and starts literally dragging you by your hand, loudly declaring “let’s make this one count!” rest of the date he surprises you with being weirdly good at every game. but every time he sees you struggling he instantaneously backs down and lets you win just to cheer you up and to give a kiss on the cheek to a winner.
lev haiba, HINATA SHOYO, nishinoya yuu, MORISUKE YAKU, yamaguchi tadashi
you try to keep it simple since it’s your first date but end up looking rather elegant and chic. you feel a bit overdressed and almost go change when you hear a buzz on your door. the door opens and he immediately clears his throat as soon as he locks eyes on you. you rush to tell “i’m sorry, i know it’s a bit much, i’m gonna change.” you turn around to walk away as he catches your hand. “it won’t be fair to let such beauty fade away, right?” he tells suggestively although you can hear a demanding note in that voice. you want to agree but still have doubts “i just don’t think i’ll be comfortable getting all these looks.” he gives your outfit another admiring glance and says “i bet you’d be getting all these looks anyway but if so i have more suitable event for you, excuse me,” he leaves your house to make a call and then as he returns he replaces his hand on your waist “shall we?” walking you to his car. you wonder where he’s driving but he answers shortly “that wouldn’t be a surprise then, darling, would it?” the car stops in a middle of nowhere, to be precise, right by the beach. it becomes more confusing when he takes his shoes off. he notices a shadow of bewilderment on your face and quickly says “you can stay with them on, i have no problem with carrying you.” the quick question from you follows “into water?” he laughs at that comment. he rolls up his sleeves, mischievously looking at you. you are still freezes not sure what to do when he suddenly speaks “alright.” within three seconds he grabs you placing your body on his shoulder. you try to fight him telling that you will walk barefoot but he simply replies “too late, i like the way things are.” he puts you carefully on the chair and his hand gently removes some hair from your face. when you see a whole restraunt table arranged amidst sand you involuntarily gasp “there’s no way you arranged this over one phone call.” he smirks obviously satisfied and pleased with your reaction “you’re almost right. originally, that part was coming after we go to museum. some wine, darling?” you nod and he pours wine as his eyes are watching your perplexed face. he sits down and immediately raises the glass “to the most gorgeous date ever who gets all the looks.”

HC · They're confessing
Headcanons of Haikyuu characters confessing to you
This one is for the Karasuno first years, will do a few more for the 2nd + 3rd years and few members of other teams
Will also do a hc of the reader confessing first
Tumblr media
Hinata:
It was something you expected because he couldn't be any more obvious about having a crush on you
However, it took way longer than you thought for him to actually stand in front of you
Like this boy have no idea how painfully obvious he was being and everyone had to sit by the side and watch him figure out his feelings in real time
This idiot couldn't differentiate between simply liking someone and a crush
When he finally realised what he felt for you wasn't platonic, he went straight for it
He caught you after class, confessed really loudly
You felt like everyone on that floor was able to hear this idiot's confession of his love for you
He definitely was nervous, considering how loud he was being
When you accepted his confession, he was so happy that he jumped up and hugged you so tightly that you felt like your ribs were going to collapse
There was also a very audible yelp from him from the happiness
Welp, guess now that everyone in the school knows that a certain idiot confessed and is now happily dating the love of his dreams
Tumblr media
Kageyama:
Another oblivious idiot on this list
Arguably took long than Hinata to understand his feelings but was also more subtle with his actions
However, everyone except a few was able to tell that he had it bad for you
Would be sneaking glances at you and turning away immediately when you turn to face him
If you ever asked, he would be like "What? No. What are you talking about?"
Even after understanding he had a crush on you, he didn't confess
However, under the help of a few seniors, mainly Sugawara
Our lovely setter prodigy finally decided to face you and express his feelings
It was mainly muttering at first, but after telling him that you couldn't hear him, his voice rose suddenly and went for the overkill
Now the entire sector of the building could hear him
He fried himself immediately after that from embarrassment
But you were nice enough to hold in your chuckle and comfort him, then accepting his confession
Now you had the honour of watching Kageyama turn into a tomato in two seconds
He would be stammering and stuttering all over the place
He was overjoyed, but failed miserably in expressing it coherently
But hey, we love him for that
Tumblr media
Tsukishima:
He was well aware of his feelings, but he wasn't ready to admit it
It took him quite some time to come in term with it
And even when he accepted it, he didn't confess immediately
Instead, he was planning strategically on how to confess to you so there will be a higher chance of you reciprocating those feelings back
This isn't how feelings work but we'll give him the credit for putting in the effort
You were kind of shocked when he confessed
You always thought that this guy disliked you, or were at least, indifferent about you, the thought that he liked you did not once show up in your mind
His affections were subtle and only a very few could see that he held you differently from others
His confession was calm, really calm, if it wasn't for the tense muscles and clenched fist, you wouldn't even know that this guy was nervous.
Even after you accepting his confession, his response was more of a "guess you were smart enough to accept me."
But if you squint real hard, you can see a joyous glint in his eyes
He is happy about you reciprocating his feelings, but more than likely he won't outright say it
Even if he did, it would be a quick comment thats followed by something sassy to cover it up
Tumblr media
Yamaguchi:
You could tell this boy held feelings for you from a mile away
He's really not good at hiding it with all the blushing and stammering
Didn't have the courage to tell you for the longest time
Tsukishima was telling him to just go for it, and everyone else was also encouraging him to do it
But he still didn't budge
He felt like you were going to reject him the moment he step in front of you
Not true by the way
It was only when he scored with the float serve through multiple games and finally feeling like he could do something did he gain the confidence he needed
He came up to you, face red and trying to keep composure even though he felt so nervous like he's going to faint
However, he still managed to hold eye contact with you this entire time
His voice was quivering when he told you about his feelings
You couldn't tell if it was because he was nervous or because he was scared
Probably both
When you accepted his feelings, he was overjoyed, but he still doubled checked with you
Because maybe, he heard it wrong
After getting an confirmation, he gleamed, you could almost see a fluffy tail wagging behind him
The first request he had for you after making sure you are now in a relationship with him is:
"Could I hold your hand?"
Tumblr media
Yachi:
You could tell easily that this girl had something for you from the startled expressions and act of running away and hiding from seeing you
It's like a little rabbit seeing a predator
However, you couldn't quite determine whether it was because she liked you or she was scared of you
You thought it might be the latter, but the reactions her friends gave suggested the former
Nothing really happened for a long time so you thought she would never arrive to confession
She proved you wrong
...but only after one whole year
She finally stopped you at recess all nervous and fidgety, she looked like she was on the verge of crying
She handed you a lovely envelope and just ran
You didn't even get a chance to stop her and she's just gone
The letter was well written, well decorated and very cute
She expressed all the feelings she had for you in her neat handwriting
There were cute drawings decorated throughout the page, indicating how much energy she put into this
Since she already gave you love letter, you knew it was impossible to receive a love confession in person now, so you decided to chase her down yourself
You caught her after class one day, then kabedon'ed her so she won't run away again
She was squealing silently and almost died from your action
She thought you were going to beat her up
When you took out a familiar well kept envelop and said that you accept her confession
She practically stopped functioning. It took her several seconds to process what you said
When she finally understood it, she looked at your with sparkling eyes, asking for a reaffirmation
You repeated your words
She got so happy that she was jumping up and down
Some passing students heard the commotion and checked what was happening
She didn't even notice them
She was just happy to finally be with you
(太可爱了太可爱了,软妹拯救世界好吧)
Also I don't even know if this counts as hc anymore because it feels kinda long
Don't ask me why yachi's part is so long, she was too cute and my brain turned to a jumbled goo from the cuteness attack so that's probably why I wrote too much
Edit: fuck fuck fuck guys I JUST realised that I wrote something wrong in Yachi's part. This is so dumb of me. Anyways, fixed it now. Hopefully everyone who read this before the edit figured out something was wrong 🫠

You hadn’t spoken to Kei in almost 4 months, not at all.
You went from messaging him daily, constantly, seeing him 5-6 times a week, getting coffee with him, having him come over for dinner, hanging out with you and Tadashi to absolutely nothing. You couldn’t help yourself when you were around him, couldn’t stop thinking about him when you weren’t around him, so you had to cut him off. After that night, coming home and crawling into bed with Yamaguchi, his arms wrapping around you, they didn’t feel right. They weren’t as strong as Kei’s. Everything that he did reminded you that he wasn’t Kei. You could feel every mark that Kei had left on your body and you were missing him so much that your heart physically hurt. It had to stop.
When Yamaguchi asked why you guys weren’t talking anymore, you almost started crying. You told him that you guys had gotten into an awful fight and that you couldn’t talk about it. Though it was technically a lie, it seemed convincing enough. Every time that he would try to ask about it, you would get emotional, tears flooding your eyes and heart feeling heavy. He stopped asking about it after a while, just accepting that you weren’t ready to talk about it. He was kind like that. He was conflicted, not knowing whether or not to drop everything with his best friend. You encouraged him to go see him if Tsukishima wanted to and he did.
Everything about Yamaguchi was kind and sweet and everything that you should have wanted, but not being with Kei for the past few months really showed you how difficult it was for you to be with someone like that. Tadashi would listen to you rant about your favorite TV shows, make you breakfast in the morning, tell you all of the things about you that he loves, but every inexplicably nice thing that he did made you miss Kei’s antics even more. You missed when he would make fun of the plot holes in your garbage TV shows, how he would groan at you and throw things when you tried to ask him to make you breakfast, how special he would make you feel when he would tell you the things he loved about you. You were convinced that it was just your obsessive mind, that something was wrong with you.
Not above everything else, but a large chunk of the reason that you missed him, was how great you were together in bed. Nothing was the same without him. You barely even wanted to try to make yourself come. Even when you succeeded the few times that you did, you felt less satisfied after you finished than you had when you started. It didn’t matter how hard you tried or what you did, nothing compared to how good he was at it and how much he cared.
You had gotten used to the fact that you would never be satisfied again. You never should have fucked him the first time. You were fine with the situation that was happening, at least you could make yourself come. Ignorance truly is bliss, you guessed.
Except, there was one night, one fateful night, when you were in bed with Yamaguchi, on all fours as he fucked you from behind, that you actually felt pleasure for the first time in months.
“How is it, sweetheart?” he asked, his breathing sporadic despite only inserting himself into you a few minutes ago. You tried your best to sound into it for his sake at least. The endearing name that came out of his mouth, once belonging to him, but now, even 4 months void of hearing him say it, it was still Kei’s. You wished you’d never told him the name because now it’s all you can think about.
He angles down, accidentally grazing your g-spot, something he has never done in your relationship, ever. It’s not as thoughtful as when Kei does it, nor as harsh, but it sends the smallest amount of pleasure into your core as you inhale deeply. It’s been so long since you’ve felt actual pleasure, that it just slips out of your mouth. It’s the first thing that your body thinks of when you feel even the smallest amount of satisfaction.
“Fuck, Kei.” As soon as it leaves your mouth, you’re hoping that the rest of the room is loud enough to cover it. You want to crawl into a hole and never be seen again. Even with Kei out of your life for 4 months, the second that you feel good, he’s all your brain can think about. Tadashi slows and you know how badly you’ve fucked up.
He stops, still inside of you, as he asks, “What?” You don’t know what to do, what to say, you’re frozen in time. When you don’t reply, he pulls out of you, getting up from off of the bed, repeating himself, but adding your name to try to pull you out of your own head. “(y/n), what?” He doesn’t have to ask what. He doesn’t have to ask you to repeat yourself, he knows exactly what you said.
All of those years of not being suspicious about you and Kei have come back to haunt him all at once. His voice is stern, now, growing impatient. This is a side of him that you’ve never seen. He’s not even angry, just confused and evidently hurt. “(y/n).” His tone is cold and pained.
“I-.” You feel so small as you choke out one word. You want to rewind time, not just to before you moaned Kei’s name, but to back before that night that you admitted your deepest secret to Kei, the night that you weren't able to turn back from. Your hesitance and lack of words are speaking absolute volumes to him as he scoffs at you, putting his clothes back on and pacing around the room. You’re sitting on the edge of the bed, putting your underwear and shirt back on, looking down at your feet to avoid his eyes.
“You what, (y/n), tell me, what?”
“I’m sorry,” is all you can manage to say, a genuine, whether he thinks so or not, apology. It’s genuine, but what exactly are you apologizing for? Even you don’t know.
Tadashi takes a deep breath, turning to you and stopping in his tracks. “Did you really say it? Please, (y/n), tell me that I wasn’t hearing right, that you said something else and my ears deceived me, please.”
You know that if you were to tell him, he would believe you. You wouldn’t even have to explain yourself, he would just understand and he would trust you and you guys would crawl into bed and he would hold you and you would wish it was Kei.
“You said it, didn’t you?” He sounds so defeated, sighing softly and swallowing, tears in his eyes. “Can you at least just tell me that you were just thinking about him for whatever stupid reason? That it was all in your head? That it wasn’t based off of anything that actually happened?” You wish you could. He waits for you to talk, waits nearly 30 minutes in complete, agonizing silence. The awkward air never settling, just getting worse and worse by the second.
“You have to say something, (y/n). I deserve to know.” He doesn’t even sound angry. You want him to sound angry. You want him to scream, to throw things, to slam the door as he leaves, but even after you’ve cheated on him, he’s still just a genuinely kind guy who’s just hurt. He refuses to say another word, sitting in silence for another 10 minutes before you start to speak up.
“I did…” You take a deep breath. “I did say it, by the way.” You admit to the first issue at hand, something that he definitely already knows, so you continue on. “We… Kei and I…” You’re trying to find the right words, but nothing is going to sound right coming out of your mouth. “We slept together.”
Everything is silent. You can’t even hear each other breathing.
“Why?” he asks, bluntly. He deserves to know, but you can’t bring yourself to tell him the actual reason, but he’s repeating it again, “Why?” He repeats it again, begging to know this time, “(y/n), why, please.” He keeps asking because you’re staying silent. The word why is flying around your head so much, fogging your thoughts that it just slips out of your mouth.
“Because you couldn’t make me come,” you admit, louder than you should have. You didn’t want to play the victim here, you weren’t the victim. It was the worst excuse that could have been said. You try to backpedal. “I- I just… You couldn’t… make me come and he could. So we slept together, but only twice before I-.”
Yamaguchi is taking in the entire situation that’s unfolding in front of him. He looks hurt and confused and the anger that you’ve been expecting this whole time is still nowhere to be seen. “That’s a shitty excuse,” he interrupts you.
“I know. I didn’t… I wasn’t trying to excuse myself. I just-.”
“Twice? You slept with him twice?” he asks.
“Yeah, only twic-.”
“ Only twice? Wow, thank you so much for only sleeping with my best friend twice.” He’s getting annoyed at your responses, at himself for sticking around, for being stepped on. You wanted to add that he wasn’t just Yamaguchi’s best friend, he was your best friend too, he was your best friend first, but that didn’t sit well. “What that means, (y/n), is that you did it once and then you did it again because you didn’t feel guilty enough to stop after doing it once.”
You’re quiet again. Nothing that you say is going to fix this. “I’m sorry.”
“That’s where you were a few months ago, isn’t it?” He put the pieces together, connected the dots. “You weren’t out on a walk, you were cheating on me with Kei.” He doesn’t even wait for confirmation. “Was that the first time?”
“Dashi, no, I-.” You don’t want to tell him, you can’t tell him that you fucked on your bed when he wasn’t home, that you didn’t wash the sheets because it reminded you of that night, that you would get nervous, but excited wondering if Tadashi could see the cum stains on your side of the bed.
“Where?”
“Here,” you admit as fast as you can. Tadashi scoffs, grabbing his bag and shoving things into it, muttering as he does so. You sit on the bed quietly, watching him race around the room, but not trying to stop him. “You fucked him here, in our home, in our bed, where we sleep . Fucking unbelievable. This whole time, I knew that something was weird between you two, but I never said anything. I trusted you, (y/n), I trusted you.” He shakes his head, grabbing clothes, electronics, his wallet, anything that he can grab, and shoving it into his bag.
“I can’t fucking believe you. I mean, I thought I couldn’t believe you. I…” He stops himself, taking a deep breath and looking into your eyes. It’s only now that you can see how red they are, tears spilling out of them in heavy drops. Yours are dry.
“I don’t… I’m sorry.” It’s Tadashi that’s apologizing. You reach out, gently placing your hand on his shoulder and rubbing your thumb into it.
“Dashi, don’t apologize.” Part of you thinks that this means he’s going to set his bag down and crawl back into bed with you and be the little spoon until you both fall asleep. Another part of you knows it’s already over.
“I love you,” he says to you, looking into your eyes. You can’t bring yourself to say it back. You stand up, urgently.
“You should stay here. I’m going to go. I can’t… I can’t be in this house. I’m sorry. I’m sorry for everything.” Even though he has his bag packed already, even though it sounds like he was ready to talk and to give you a second chance, your chest is feeling tight. You had to get out of that room, out of that house. Hearing him tell you that he loves you made you feel sick. It doesn’t sit right in your stomach at all.
“If you leave right now and go to Kei’s, I’m done. We’re done.” It’s the most sturdy sentence that Tadashi had ever said, not riddled with fear or sorrys, just stern.
You don’t even bother to grab a bag like Tadashi did or to say goodbye as you left or to look back at him standing exactly where you left him. You pushed past him and out the door, desperate to get fresh air into your lungs.
Tadashi knows exactly where you’re headed when he notices that you didn’t even grab the car keys from the counter. He doesn’t know what he expected.
The air is much colder than you anticipate it being. The large amounts of it that you’re taking into your lungs to negate the feeling of panic in your heart burn as they fill your chest. Not once during your time in the room with Tadashi did you cry. Watching how upset and sad that you had made him didn’t even make your eyes water, but out on the street, taking that familiar walk that you had taken so often, but not recently, the tears started to form and fall from your eyes.
By the time you make it to his front door, your vision is completely blurred and your lungs hurt so much from heaving that you’re contemplating holding your breath forever. You don’t even know what you’re doing here. You hadn’t called or texted. It was nearly 3 in the morning. You knew that he would be sleeping. You hadn’t talked to him in months. How did you know he would even let you in?
You knock on the door with as much strength as you can muster, 4 light rasps against the wood. You wait for a minute before trying to knock again. When there’s still no answer, you ring the doorbell once. You’re about to give up when you hear the soft click of the unlocking of the door, a tired Kei stands in front of you, his glasses not even on his face as he squints at you. His eyes open wider when he realizes who it is. “(y/n)? What are you doing here?”
It’s cold outside, but you don’t make the move to try to get inside. He hasn’t invited you in yet, and you’ve lost the privilege of slinking past him and taking off your shoes and walking into his room without question when you broke off all contact with him for 4 months.
“He broke up with me.” You sniffle at the end of your sentence. Saying it out loud makes a sob erupt from your chest. Your legs feel weak as you bring your hands up to your face, crying into them, your entire body shaking.
Part of you feels bad for bombarding Kei like this, but you didn’t know where else to go and you definitely couldn’t have stayed. If you had to look at Tadashi for one-second longer, you would have told him everything, even the parts that he definitely doesn’t need to hear. You feel your wrist being pulled inside, Kei shutting the door behind you before continuing to pull you into his bedroom. It looked exactly like it did those few months ago, the bed disheveled from Kei leaving from it so quickly to answer the door. You were laying there with him a few months ago, about to kiss him. You wish you would have kissed him.
Kei pulls you into a hug, wrapping his arms around you so tightly that you can’t move. You feel so secure, so safe. You can’t stop crying, wetting his shoulder from the tears. He rubs your lower back with his palm and your shoulder with his thumb, comforting you. You can feel him hesitate, but ultimately press a kiss into the top of your head. You melt into him.
“It’s not his fault. I cheated on him. I know this, but I just… I should be sadder, Kei,” you say into his shoulder.
“You’re sobbing, what do you mean?”
“I’m not sobbing because I broke up with Tadashi.” You’re treading on thin ice here, but your emotions are completely getting the better of you, pushing you forwards. “I’m sobbing because after he broke up with me, my chest felt lighter. After he broke up with me, the only thing I could think about was you and how I wouldn’t have to hide or lie anymore. He gave me a choice, Kei. He told me that if I left and came to your house that he was going to break up with me, that we were through.” You pause. “And look where I’m at now.”
Tsukishima is silent, his arms around you beginning to fall weakly off of your sides.
“Fuck,” you breath, pulling away from him, sitting on the edge of his bed, and putting your face in your hands. “I was so good at hiding my feelings, Kei, suppressing them so fucking well, and then we spent that night together and- and I couldn’t get you out of my head again.” You grab a fistful of your own hair in frustration. “I mean, fuck.” You pick your head back up, tears slowing, resting your chin in your hands.
He sits next to you but still doesn’t speak. You continue talking, scared of what will happen when the air settles around the conversation. “I was happy. I was content. I-,” you pause, “I didn’t have to sit and wonder if the guy that I’m in love with cared about me in a way that involved more than just sex.” You’ve said all that you could say.
It’s quiet. The atmosphere is calmer than it was back at your house. You steady your breathing, not that it matters, because Kei’s next sentence knocks the wind out of you.
“I wish I would’ve kissed you that night,” he admits to you, his voice low. “I’ve regretted it every day since you left. I thought that maybe, maybe if I would’ve kissed you, you would’ve stayed or- or you would’ve just known.”
“Known?” you ask, innocently.
He exhales sharply, almost resembling a laugh. “Known that I was fucking in love with you.”
The tears that had started to subside came back with everything they had, your whole body wracked, shoulders heaving as he said those words. Even though he was sitting right next to you, he felt miles away. All you wanted was for him to wrap around you. You wanted to crawl into his lap, to feel his fingertips on your scalp again, to feel him give you any contact at all.
You’ve thought about that night endlessly, spent hours awake remembering how he looked underneath you. Even after the thoughts of your incredible sex subsided, after they faded into the back of your mind, after you pushed them back there, you couldn’t get the look in his eyes out of your head. You kept watching them, replaying in your head, as they flickered to your lips and lingered, how they didn’t look hungry, but yearning.
You don’t know how to reply, but you need to speak. You need to tell him something, anything, to remind him why you’re here in the first place, why you chose him overworking it out with Tadashi, anything to get him to move closer to you and hold you.
Or maybe you don’t need to speak. Maybe you don’t need to say anything to get him to move closer and hold you. He had just done the hard part. He told you that he was in love with you, or, that he was in love with you. Was he still?
You looked up at him, saw his head hanging like he’d made a mistake, his gaze stuck on the floor while he fiddled with his thumbs. You turn to him, nudging underneath his arm and crawling into his lap, exactly where you wanted to be. You sit in his lap, curled up in a small ball, tears still overflowing from your eyes.
He doesn’t move for a minute, worry creeping up on you as he doesn’t react to you being in his lap, but then he wraps his arms around you and rests his chin on the top of your head. Your ear is pressed against his chest and you can hear the dull thumping of his heart. You time your breathing with it, your tears slowing as they synchronize.
You’re aware of how little has been said since he confessed to you. You want to tell him something that will make him feel more at ease for having said it. “I wanted to kiss you too, that night. I haven’t been able to stop thinking about it.” It’s quiet again, but you know that he hears you. He tightens his grip in response, nuzzling his nose into your neck as he rests his forehead against your cheek.
Kei turns you slightly so that you’re facing him, legs wrapped around his waist as he holds you up with strong arms behind your back. You’re staring into his eyes again like you were four months ago, but you’re not riddled with conflicting thoughts, you’ve never been more sure of anything in your life.
Before you even start inching closer to him, Kei’s facial expression changes just slightly. “Can I ask?” He pauses, waiting for you to give confirmation for him to go on. When you do, he continues, “What finally did it? Why did you guys finally break up?”
You had told him that you guys had broken up, had come over his house at 3 in the morning sobbing, had told him that you chose him over Tadashi, but nowhere in your mind did you think that you’d have to tell him why exactly you broke up. You flush red recalling the events. It was somehow more embarrassing recalling them, about to say them aloud, than to actually have gone through them. “I- Well, I mean-,” you stutter over your words causing him to look confused.
“You don’t have to tell me, for whatever reason, I know that we haven’t ta-,” he starts, but you interrupt him, shaking your head.
“No, no. I want to tell you, Kei, but you… you can’t laugh.” Your eyes are pleading.
“Tch, well when you say that, you know I can’t promise such things.” You’ve missed his little tongue clicks.
You take a deep breath. “He was fucking me.” You take another deep breath, avidly avoiding Kei’s eyes and evidently piquing his interest. “And he hit that spot.” Your cheeks are burning as you take another breath to steady yourself. “And I said your name.”
His jaw drops, head tilting to the side as he tries to conceal his cockiness, his disbelief, his bliss. You bury your face into his chest, the warmth of your cheeks worsening by the second. “You said my name while he was fucking you?”
“Kei, you don’t understand,” your voice is muffled by his shirt, “I hadn’t gotten off in so long, hadn’t felt like actual pleasure since that night, and so, and- and he-.” You’re stumbling over your words, but he doesn’t say anything. “He hit it on accident and I just couldn’t help it. It was slipping out of my mouth and I’ve never wanted to hide more.”
He leans back, pulling his chest away from your face as you look up at him. His head is tilted back and he’s laughing at the whole situation. “I told you that I couldn’t promise anything. Wow. He hit it by accident?”
You nod at his question. Nothing about this situation is funny, but seeing Kei laugh makes you start laughing. You want to feel worse about it, but it’s just the two of you in this secluded room and being with Kei for the first time in months, you feel truly happy again. You push him slightly, the corner of your mouth tugging upwards as you bury your face into his chest again. “Don’t be mean to me.”
Kei brings his hand under your chin, lifting your head until your gaze meets his. No matter how hard you try to avert it, he moves you to match it. He rubs small circles into your chin. It sends shivers through every part of your body. “I’m sorry. I’m not being mean. I’m flattered, really.” You melt into him, letting your chin form into his hand before looking at his lips so obviously that if he didn’t get the hint, you’d start crying again.
He knows, of course, he knows, but he asks anyway. “Can I kiss you?” His voice is soft but audible.
You nod gently, making sure not to disturb his hand on your chin, “Please.” He brings your face to his, carrying it with his fingertips before meeting it halfway. When his lips first touch yours, the first thing you notice is how different they taste from before. Without the sex driving the kiss, it felt less desperate, less like it needs to happen and more like it is just supposed to happen. Your eyes flutter shut, your body threatening to start shaking if you don’t deepen the kiss. You need more of him.
You place your hands on the sides of his face, pulling him closer, your face squished against his as much as it could be. This kiss was completely different in every aspect. You were no longer with Tadashi, this wasn’t just a meeting for a hookup. This was your best friend, who ( is? was? ) in love with you. The two words switch back and forth in your mind, asking if he is still in love with you.
You pull away, much to your own dismay. His lips almost start to pout when you’ve pulled away until he sees how serious you are. You have to ask. You have to know. “Are you…” You pause, rewording the question, “You said that..” You take a breath. “That you were in love with me.” He turns red as he nods. “Is that… like, you were, but aren’t anymore? Or like you were and still are?”
He blinks at you slowly, the red fading off of his face as a smile replaces his nervousness. He laughs, shaking his head and putting his lips back on yours. “I don’t think I could ever not be.” You not only hear the words but feel them against your lips. Your hands are back on his face, desperate to kiss him so hard that you can’t breathe.
You roll off of his lap, your hands still on the sides of his face guiding you with him, pulling him on top of you. The kiss is still innocent enough, despite the position you find yourself in. He’s hovering over you, his hips directly above yours. You snake your legs around his waist, pulling him even closer into you. You open your mouth slightly, letting your tongue slip out and swipe against his lip, hoping with everything in you that he lets you in.
You can tell how surprised he is to feel your tongue, but he lets you enter. Without the smashing of your teeth, the fighting of your tongues, you explore his mouth, running your tongue over his and the back of his teeth. You moan into his mouth as he places a hand on your hip, rolling up against him softly. You can feel him growing hard at the contact. He grunts as he rolls down against you in response.
You move your mouth from his, kissing down his neck and sucking at the base. You were surprised at how much he reacted to this. All this time, he had abused and riddled your neck with marks and bruises, but he wanted them just as much. You bite into his soft skin, sucking on an area gently, running your tongue over it lightly, using your bottom lip to rub the spot as well. You pull at the hem of his shirt, pulling it over his head and throwing it to the side. You run your hands down his chest, down his toned stomach, just feeling his skin as you nibble on his collarbones. Kei is moaning into your ear at the feeling.
Your hands move down to his boxers, only the thin fabric separating his growing length and your hand. You palm him as you kiss his neck again. His breath stutters in your ear as he thrusts into your hand. You begin to start taking them off when he pulls away suddenly. You look up at him, confused and worried. “Kei?”
“(y/n),” he breathes, “I- I want this so badly. I want you so badly, but you literally just got out of a relationship an hour ago. I don’t want to take advantage of you or have you do something you’ll regret tomorrow.”
You shake your head, your eyebrows furrowed. “Please, Kei, I’ve waited so long to do this right. I know this isn’t ideal. I know what happened. I get it. I know, but… please. I want this,” you say, looking directly into his eyes. “I could never regret spending a night with you. I never have and I never will.”
He mulls over the situation, thinking carefully before confirming again, “Are you sure?”
You nod again. “Yes, yes, Kei. I’ve missed you so much in every way possible.”
He caresses your cheek with his hand, rubbing his thumb over your jawline. “Is this just a hookup?” The question stops everything in you. You pull his face back down to yours, kissing everywhere but his mouth as you repeat the word no over and over again.
“No, god, fuck, Kei, no. No. I want you so badly, but not just because you can make me come so fucking good, but because I want to be that close to you again. I want to feel you inside of me and I want you to hold me after.” You don’t know if the words you’re saying are too sappy, but they’re true and they work. Kei kisses you this time, pressing his lips against you hard, but not rough.
“How have you survived these past months without me?” he asks. You giggle at the question, but then exhale, almost defeated.
“Barely, honestly,” you admit. “I’ve come twice by myself and they were the worst orgasms I’ve ever had.”
“We’ll have to fix that, then, yeah, baby?” For some reason, the pet name makes you feel warm. He had called you it before, but it felt different now like he meant it more. The thought of him calling you baby outside of sex just added to the fire. You nod at him, resuming your kiss. As you’re building up the moment again, Kei pulls your shirt off, releasing your tits from your shirt and massaging them as he devours your tongue.
You roll your hips against him again, feeling him almost completely hard already. You needed to feel his skin. You grabbed the waistband, gently tugging it down as far as you could from your position underneath him. You took his cock into your hand, stroking the rock hard length until you could feel even more blood rushing to it. Everything that you’re doing to him is getting a much bigger reaction than before, but you love it. You pull away from his mouth just long enough to spit into your hand, slicking his cock with the saliva, your fist gliding over it much easier now.
Kei isn’t speaking, which is unusual, but you’re looking up at his face in the times when your lips are apart and you’re looking at the concentration on his face. It makes your heart flutter. “Pants off,” he says, but it’s not demanding. The short phrase is just desperate . You move your hand from his cock to undo your own pants, sliding them off with your underwear. You wrap your fist back around his cock, but not before dipping your fingers into yourself, moaning softly at the contact. You use how wet you are to lubricate his cock, your fist moving faster now. When he sees you do so, hears how wet you are when you push your fingers inside of you, feels the wetness on his cock, he twitches, pulling your hand away and pinning it down on the bed.
You look up at him, somewhat confused. He looks almost embarrassed. You pull him into another kiss, wrapping your legs around him, his cock brushing only slightly against your lips as he groans into your ear. He holds your hips in place, pushing you back onto the beg, unwrapping your legs from him. He owes you some sort of explanation, but he wasn’t going to give it to you without keeping you occupied.
He reaches down, still towering over top of you, bracing himself with one hand. “I haven’t come since the last time we were together,” he explains, avoiding eye contact with you. “You ruined me too, I guess.” The words shake your entire being. You blink at him, eyes open without knowing what to say.
Your mind is distracted as he rubs two fingers between your lips, curling them around your pussy, pressing into your hole ever so slightly. You want to grab his wrist and shove his fingers inside of you. You think if he did that, you might come on the spot. You missed his fingers so much, missed any part of him being inside you so much. He uses his thumb to rub your swollen clit, the small circles making your heart race. Seeing you underneath him, squirming and wriggling from the small movements, a cocky smile spreads over his face. He missed seeing you like this.
All at once, he shoves his fingers in, your pussy completely swallowing them up to the knuckle, slamming into your g-spot with such purpose. You clench around his fingers. “Kei, fuck, again, please, just once more, again.” You can’t believe how pathetic you sound right now, asking him to do it once more, knowing it’ll push you over the edge with how little you’ve been pleased lately, with how dissatisfying your sex life had been.
He listens to you, pulling his fingers nearly all the way out, and then slamming them back into you, pushing as hard as he can to get as deep as he can. His thumb hasn’t stopped messily flicking over your clit as he does so. You’re rolling your hips on his fingers as you come for the first time in months. These little movements shouldn’t have made you come so fast, but you couldn’t help it. His eyes are wide as he notices that you’ve already come. He rides you through your orgasm, pumping his fingers in and out of you quickly. When you’re finishing coming, he doesn’t stop, so fascinated by how quickly you’re getting there. Your pussy feels so sensitive already, but you can feel another wave of pleasure about to wash over you and you welcome it. He curls his fingers up, hitting your spot repeatedly with his long, slender fingers. He’s watching you the whole time, gaze strong as he slams his fingers in and out of you, inserting another finger right before you come. His fingers don’t make you feel nearly as full as his cock, but it’s a start.
The pleasure from his fingers inside of you and his thumb on your sensitive clit are too much. The pressure building in your lower stomach releases all at once, spraying the bed beneath you as you scream out his name in repetition. He pulls his fingers out of you, using his entire hand to rub against your clit faster than anyone ever has as you finish coming. You’re sweating from how hard your body is clenching, your hands making fists into the sheet as tears blink from your eyes.
You’re feeling even more sensitive, but Kei puts his fingers back inside of you. “Kei, Kei, I can’t, I can’t come again, fuck.”
“You remember the rules, yeah?” he asks, making sure that you don’t actually want him to stop. You nod at him excessively, holding his wrist in place and rocking your hips on his fingers when he slows down to check. He smiles at you, continuing to finger you. You can see his arm start to shake. He hadn’t slowed down once since he started hammering his fingers into you and you’re so grateful for it. The continuous, never letting up, pleasure that he’s created makes your orgasm come even quicker than you think it’s going to.
Just as you’re about to come for the third time, he removes his fingers and slips into you, grunting as he does so. You feel every inch fill you as he pushes into your tight hole, stretching even further for him as he hits the back of your walls. You gasp for air as you feel his complete length inside of you, rubbing against your walls. His hand is gone from your clit, but he’s penetrating you deeply. You come around him, gripping onto his cock like a fucking vice as you cry out. He thrusts into you and pulls out, looking obviously labored from how tight you’re clenching around him. He’s muttering a string of fuck s as he does so.
“Kei, fuck, thank you, thank you, fuck,” you mutter into his shoulder, running your fingernails down his back, wanting him closer, deeper.
“You’re so tight, baby, fuck. You’re so tight and you’re all mine,” he says. There’s no mention of Tadashi, no nicknames that remind you of him, only saying things that are just the two of yours. After you’ve come, he slows his hips, fucking into you slowly, but hard, never breaking eye contact with you.
His hand is in your hair, using it to pull you on to him slowly. A small part of you was convinced that the only reason that you and Kei’s sex was so incredible was because it was rough and degrading and hot and though it can be all those things, it doesn’t always have to be. You’re realizing very quickly that you don’t need Kei to fuck you really rough for you to enjoy it, for both of you to revel in it.
His slow thrusts don’t last very long as his breathing starts getting quicker. His hips pick up speed again, pushing so deeply into you that he can feel every part of your pussy wrapped around him. His thrusts are getting messier, stuttering instead of keeping the perfect rhythm that he normally does. His arm is shaking to hold himself up.
“Fuck, (y/n), fuck, baby, fuck, I’m going to come. Fuck, fuck, will you come with me, baby? Will you come on my cock while I fill you? I need to feel you clenching around me, milking the cum that’s already coming out of my cock, coaxing more and more out until you can taste it, please, baby, fuck.” All of the dirty talk that he held back from during comes out in this moment. His words bring you right to the edge. Feeling his cock ache inside you, looking into his eyes as you nod helplessly letting the orgasm echo through your entire body. You can feel it in every part of you as you squeeze around him, doing exactly what he asked of you.
He didn’t demand anything of you, only asked nicely, even throwing in a please. Even still, you wanted to do whatever he asked of you, especially if that thing was coming on his cock as he came inside of you. His cock is throbbing, pulsing with every slam into you, with every stream of cum that comes out of his cock as he fucks it into you. Your moans are straggled as you try to speak, to thank him for everything, to just say his name. He’s moaning into your ear, a murmur of dirty words and your name repeated over and over again. It’s mostly gibberish, except a “thank you” that slips out among the rest. You feel flush all over as he sloppily fucks into you for the last time. You feel the cum drip out of you as soon as he pulls out.
Despite how tired you feel, you know that you have to go clean yourself up so that you can actually sleep. You just assumed you would stay the night, but maybe that’s not what he’s expecting. You make your way to the bathroom, waving him off when he tells you to stay and that you can fix it tomorrow. You hear him in the other room, changing his sheets on the bed and getting dressed again.
When you enter into his room again, having brushed your teeth with the toothbrush he still kept in his medicine cabinet, you see him pulling one of his old volleyball shirts out of his drawer, tossing it to you as you walked in the room. “For tonight. Figured it’d be better to sleep in than what you had on.” You smile, a warmth spreading from your chest to the tips of your fingers and toes.
“Thank you, Kei,” you put the shirt on, taking in how soft it is and how much it smells like him.
He climbs into the middle of the bed, keeping the covers thrown to the side for you to get into bed with him. He pats the bed beside him when you seem hesitant. You slowly make your way over, getting into bed. He throws the covers over top of you before turning onto his side, looking at you with sleepy, but happy eyes.
“What?” you ask, the attention making you blush even harder. He shakes his head, not saying anything, so you ask again, “What?”
“Nothing,” he waves you off, pressing a kiss into the side of your head and flipping you so that your back is flush against his chest, snaking his arms around your waist.
“Tsukishima Kei,” you flip back around, staring him in the eyes, “What?”
He laughs at how serious you are, moving a piece of hair out of your eyes and kissing your forehead. “I just think you’re pretty, that’s all.” Your eyes widen in surprise as you flip back over, pushing yourself back into him, hiding what a dark crimson your skin had turned. He laughs again at your reaction, his hand resting on your hip and massaging it as he kisses the back of your neck.
He wraps his legs in yours, pulling you closer to him. You can feel his breath on your ear but you don’t mind. It’s silent for a moment, but despite how tired you are and how dark the room is, you can’t seem to sleep. Your eyelids feel heavy, but there are words that need to be said that haven’t been. “Kei?” you ask quietly, seeing if he’s still up. He hums into your back evidently awake from the response time but getting sleepier by the second. You place your hand on his, squeezing it gently as you turn back around to face him.
His eyes are shut, lashes fluttering softly at your movement before opening the tiniest bit. Your face is so close to his that it’s killing you not to kiss him right now, but you need to say it first. He needs to hear it first.
“I love you, Kei.”
His eyes open wider now, he inhales slightly sharper than before, but a smile rests on his face. He leans forward, pressing his lips against yours for a moment before pulling away, a pout instantly forming on your face. “Hey,” you voice your concern, but he just raises his eyebrows.
“Fine, fine, I won’t tell you that I love you too or that I’m so glad that everything happened the way it did despite how messy it was or that I want to fall asleep with you every night,” he says, shrugging, but pressing his lips back into yours again. He’s so good at everything he does. You want to keep kissing him, but more so, you want him to continue to tell you nice things.
He spends the rest of the time that you’re awake telling you all of the things he’s never told you. You exchange secrets, you laugh, you kiss, you cry a little bit, you kiss some more, you kiss even more. Eventually, the sun peeks out from the horizon casting a bright, but soft pink, glow into Kei’s room. You press your face into his chest, hiding your eyes from the light at first, but then finding so much comfort in the contact, in the heartbeat. It calms you into a sleep. He massages his fingers into your scalp, petting and smoothing your hair.
This entire time, everything you wanted was right there in front of you, but now you had it.
“Goodnight, baby,” he says softly into your head, “I love you.”
Your heart beams.

Tsukki x You Drabbles
Most people probably think Tsukishima would be the cruel and snarky jealous type or give the silent treatment and then get you home and suddenly start to devour you and remind you that you’re his and only his.
But what if he’s a sweet lil insecure baby who just needs to know that you’re there and you love him….
“Oh, hi Makoto! Long time no see!” You shout as you hug the man who called your name across the shop.
You and Kei are out Christmas shopping for your families when you ran into an old friend. You have known Makoto since grade school and haven’t seen him years after graduation. He’s grown up, a lot, you notice. Fitting well into a nice tailored suit under a long tan coat.
“It’s been so long,” he smiles at you, holding your shoulders as he takes in your adult figure. “How have you been?”
“I’m doing well, thanks, how are you? How’s the law firm?” You ask him.
Kei comes around the corner to see another man’s arms on you, glaring at you with pointed eyes from where he stops in his tracks. He’s hard to miss in the small shop and you quietly beckon him over.
“Makoto, this is my boyfriend, Tsu-“ you begin to introduce him as he walks up next to you.
“Tsukishima Kei,” he nods, stiffly to the man who was so comfortable groping you in public, but has now since stiffened at the sight of your, very tall, very muscular, boyfriend.
“N-nice to meet you,” Makoto mumbles as he offers his hand in greeting.
Kei ignores the gesture, feigning turning to browse the items next to him as you apologetically smile at Makoto on his behalf.
“Well,” Makoto recovers himself. “Sorry to have interrupted your evening, you two have a good night.”
“It was so good to see you again,” you nod to him as he leaves you and Kei alone again.
“Kei,” you whisper his name to his back that he has turned on you.
Reaching out for his shoulder to turn him to face you, he huffs and walks down the aisle without you. Biting your lip, you silently follow him, preparing yourself for what you know will be a quiet walk home.
Kei is the jealous type. He hates when men compliment you, look at you, or even breathe near you. And every time you interact with another man, you can see him clenching his jaw, and balling his hands into fists at his sides. He can’t hide it from you. Dating for two years, you’ve seen all sides of him.
He barely looks at you, let alone says a word to you. He lets you know that he’s hurt by keeping his distance. Putting up his walls that you spent so much time breaking down, that it hurts you as well. But you know it’s only temporary. He never stays upset, he just needs to process his emotions in his own way, as you’ve learned.
So you let him, as you both casually walk through the shop three feet apart. Watching him from behind as he scans the items on the shelves, not really paying attention to them, just putting on a front that he’s looking for a gift. When really you can see his mind whirling with his thoughts and insecurities.
Kei doesn’t know that you know he’s insecure. He doesn’t know that Yamaguchi once told you, what Kei thinks of himself and why he’s so jealous. He doesn’t know that you know <em>why</em> he built his walls in the first place. So he wouldn’t get hurt. So he would never again have to feel the way he felt all those years ago.
It pains you to know all this. Pains you that he’s never told you any of this himself before. But you let him know you’re not going anywhere by staying by his side, even if it’s three feet apart. You’re his shadow as he walks along, glancing back at you every so often, just to make sure you’re still there.
When you’re ready to leave the store, you silently take his hand in yours and lead him to the exit, walking down the street back to your shared flat.
While you watch him slip off his coat, and hang in on the rack, you softly run your hands downs his back. Wordlessly telling him, you’re with him.
There’s a few seconds of continued silence that fills the space around you two, then he sighs, deeply. The weight of his insecure thoughts finally lifted as you turn him to face you, your hands sliding up his chest to wrap around the back of his neck. Pulling him down to press a gentle kiss on the corner of his lips.
“I love you, Kei,” you whisper in his ear as his arms hold you close, pulling you into him and breathing in the scent of your shampoo.
“I know,” he sighs, his voice so small in the crook of your neck that you barely hear him. “I love you,” he kisses into your skin.
Relief washes over you as he lets you back in. His walls coming down around you with every kiss you press into his cheeks, jaw and neck.
“Tell me again?” He breathes, running his fingers through your hair as he stares down at you with his sweet, pleading eyes.
“I am yours,” you kiss into his lips, just as you always do when he gets this way. “And you are mine.”
And just as you always do, you gently lead him to the bedroom to show him just how much you love him.

Ours. - Chapter 2!
A/N: Gosh, I wasn't expecting this to have such an overwhelming response! Thank you all for your reblogs and likes, it really means the whole world!!
Warnings: hair pulling, sloppy blowjobs, sub!yamaguchi, dom!tsukishima, degradation (slut, whore), fingering, use of pet names (angel, good girl) not really a warning but the boys are referred to by their first names MDNI 18+
You looked at yourself in the mirror, flattening the skirt of the forest green dress that you were wearing. Your hair was slightly curled, falling in little ringlets along your forehead. It was weird, getting dressed up like this, but you were told that you were going to a fancy restaurant, so you needed to look the part.
When you first moved in with Kei and Tadashi, you saw the two of them as your best friends. Tadashi more so because he would always let you come into his room and tell him about anything that was on your mind. He knew more about you than anyone else, including when you lost your virginity at that high school party. Kei also knew things about you now that you were close, and sometimes took the liberty of teasing you about things. A soft knock on the door brings you back to reality.
"Come in." You say, adjusting the neckline on your dress.
Tadashi walks in, a soft smile on his face. He wears a nice pair of khakis, a navy blue button down, and his favorite dress shoes. He looks absolutely adorable and you can't help but return his smile.
"You look stunning." He says. "I knew that dress was going to look amazing on you."
"Thank you Dashi." You reply, looking down at the skirt. "It has pockets!"
You giggle as you spin, hands in the soft pockets of the velvet dress. Tadashi chuckles, shaking his head softly. "Are you excited?"
You look up at him, taking your bottom lip between your teeth.
"I'm nervous." You admit. "I don't know why."
"Well, I was terrified on my first date with Tsukki." Tadashi says, sitting on the edge of your bed. "It's totally fine to be nervous. Is there anything I can do to ease your nerves?"
You smile, running your hand through Tadashi's hair. He leans into your touch, something that he does whenever you play with his hair.
"I don't think so," You say softly. "I just feel like I need to make a good impression for some reason."
Tadashi giggles and looks up at you. "You already made an impression, angel." He says. "That's why we want to do this. You're so beautiful and amazing and we want to make you ours."
You feel your cheeks flush as you look down at him, his cheeks also sharing a similar crimson.
"C'mon you two!" Kei calls from downstairs. "I made a reservation, so we need to leave in the next 10 minutes."
Tadashi stands up, giving you a grin before kissing your cheek. "I promise it's gonna be okay." He says. "You look beautiful. And don't mess with your hair, I promise it looks perfect."
**
At the restaurant, you sit next to Tadashi in a booth while Kei sits across in a chair. Like Tadashi said, it's super fancy. There are so many people in dresses and suits. Each table has a chandelier illuminating it and a bouquet of roses sitting in the center of the mahogany wood.
"Wow, this place is gorgeous." You breathe, looking around at the surrounding decorations. "How did you get a reservation so quickly?"
"I know a guy." Kei shrugs a shoulder. "I wanted a place that was almost as gorgeous as you."
The flush on your cheeks seems permanent as the two boys dote on you the entire evening. Tadashi peppers kisses along your face and neck, making you giggle, while Kei places his hand on your knee under the table.
It's dizzying in a way. You'd fallen for the boys sometime last year, when you were sick with a stomach bug. Both boys had taken the day off work to care for you. It was so out of character for Kei, even when he wore a mask and would tsk at you whenever you did something that he thought was 'too strenuous'. He showed you that there's a secret, loving side of him underneath that harsh exterior. It first presented itself when he took your temperature and it was a pretty decent fever. You'd never felt so cared for.
A soft nibble on your earlobe sends you crashing back down to earth again. You gasp and shiver, making Tadashi chuckle.
"Stop daydreaming, Y/N." Kei teases with a grin. "We're talking to you."
"S-Sorry."
"As I was saying, the relationship that Tadashi and I have isn't exactly traditional, obviously." Kei starts, taking a sip of his water. "Have you ever heard of a dom and sub dynamic?"
You fight the urge to roll your eyes. "Yeah, I know what that is."
"That's what we are." Tadashi says with a smile. "Tsukki takes such good care of me."
You give Tadashi a smile, remembering how he would sit in your room for hours, gushing over Kei and everything that they did. Even if it was 3 am and he woke you up.
"If it's okay with you, we'd like to add you into the equation." Kei says, hunger in his eyes.
"How would that work?" You ask. "I've never...done this before."
"You'd basically be dating both of us, and we'd be dating each other as well." Kei explains. "A polyamorous relationship. Everything is equal, we would all love each other the same."
You nod slowly, taking in the information. You weren't expecting Kei to completely dumb it down for you like that. It did seem interesting though. Having two opposites. Kei's dominant and straight forward nature mixed with Tadashi's submissive and timid nature seemed to appeal to you like nothing else ever had.
"We'll go slow, I promise." Tadashi said.
You nod as Kei fiddles with his tie, something that you observed when he's nervous. His eyes were still filled with lust and hunger, but his hands shook. It was clear that he didn't want to mess this up.
"I'd like to try it." You say. "I know you boys will take care of me."
**
Back at home, you quickly get out of your dress to shower. As beautiful as a velvet dress looked on you, it was a bitch once you got sweaty in it. Who even thought about putting long sleeves on a dress anyway?
You're showered and in comfy clothes in about a half hour, which is pretty incredible since you usually took such long showers that the hot water would run out. You sit on the couch, curled up with your book. As much as you enjoyed the two boys, they really interrupted you right when the book got good.
You're engrossed in the chapter you're reading when Kei comes downstairs. His heart pangs in his chest as he sees you wearing one of his shirts. It hangs off your shoulder in a way that makes him nearly drool. He needs to mark your skin, needs to hear the sounds you make. So, as you finally get to the good part of the book yet again, you feel his lips on your neck.
You let out a gasp, shivering at the contact.
"K-Kei, I was just getting to the good part." You whine, a moan leaving your lips as he bites down.
"I still can't believe you read for fun, you nerd." Kei mumbles against your skin before licking the now bruised area.
Tadashi walks in, instantly pouting. "I wanna play with her too!" He whines.
With a nod, Tadashi is now kneeling as your legs are spread.
"Pants off." Kei orders in your ear. "Panties too."
You do as you're told, slipping out of your pajama bottoms and favorite panties. Tadashi licks his lips, hand already palming himself through his pants.
"Can I please taste her?" He asks, large amber eyes looking up at Kei.
"It's up to Y/N," Kei says, smiling at you. "What do you say, pretty girl? Want our boy to make you feel good?"
You nod, nearly panting already.
"Words, whore."
"Y-Yes please." You whine.
In an instant, Tadashi's lips are on your cunt. His tongue flicks up your folds and circles your clit. You barely have time to gasp before a moan tumbles out of your mouth. Tadashi hums as he tastes your juices, tongue prodding your hole.
"That's a good boy," Kei praises, tugging on Tadashi's hair. "Make our girl feel good with that slutty mouth of yours."
Tadashi moans against your pussy, sending electricity through you. Your hands find their way to his hair and tug him closer. You're nearly humping his face already.
Tadashi pulls away for a second, your slick covering his mouth and chin. "Can I finger you, angel?" He asks, swallowing thickly.
You whine at the loss of contact, nodding your head. You arch your back as Tadashi goes back to eating you out, gently nipping on the skin of your inner thighs as one finger rubs against your hole. Slowly, he inserts a finger, immediately finding your g-spot. He presses it with a harsh suck to your clit and you cry out.
"That's it, slut." Kei growls, palming himself roughly. "Cum all over his fucking face."
Your eyes squeeze shut and your mouth is open in a silent scream as you begin to unravel. A high pitched moan leaves your lips as your thighs press against Tadashi's head. Your heels dig into his back as you cum on his face, juices dripping down his finger. He laps at your cunt as you finish cumming, hair sticking to his forehead.
"Such a good boy Tadashi." Kei praises. "Isn't he good, angel?"
"S'good Dashi." You manage, swallowing. "S'good for me."
Kei runs a hand through your slightly sweaty hair. He presses a kiss to your temple, smiling against your skin.
"How do you feel?" Kei asks.
"Good." You breathe. "So, so good."
Kei nods, cupping your chin so you look at him before crashing his lips to yours. The kiss is everything you imagined it would be. Rough, possessive, dominant.
"Do you want to continue?" He asks.
"Yes please."
Soon, it's your turn to kneel, as Kei tugs his pajama pants down. His cock springs out, precum nearly dripping from his swollen tip. Kei sits down, legs spread slightly.
"Let's see how good you are at oral." He says, running a hand through your hair. "Suck my cock, angel."
You look at his cock. Despite his slightly thin appearance, Kei's very thick. The tip is pink and swollen, precum finally making its way down his shaft. You wrap your fingers around the base, watching as Kei's hips twitch slightly. With your other hand, you swipe your thumb over his slit, causing him to hiss. Using the precum as lube, you pump his cock.
"I said," Kei groans. "Suck my cock, slut."
You lick a stripe up from his balls to the tip before sucking the head into your mouth. Kei watches, eyes glazed over as you gently suck the head of his cock. He's in awe of how quickly you've made his balls tighten just from a little lick.
"Go ahead, take more of me." Kei orders.
You ease more of his cock into your mouth, breathing through your nose as you relax your throat. Tadashi watches from the couch, his own cock being pumped like his life depended on it. Kei thrusts, making you lurch and gag on his cock, spit falling down your chin.
The noises Kei makes are primal as he fucks your throat. Your eyes water as you drool. Looking down at you, remnants of mascara dripping down your tear stained cheeks, how you're holding onto his thighs as he fucks your throat, Kei's starting to fall in love.
"G-G'na cum down your throat, whore." Kei grunts, his thrusts growing sloppier. "Don't swallow."
You feel Kei's warm cum paint your throat before he pulls out, cum spurting on your lips and chin. He wipes his cock along your face, spreading the bubbly cum all around.
"That's my girl." He says with a smirk. "Covered in my cum. Come add to it Tadashi."
With a whine, Tadashi cums on your lips as well, one rope landing on your forehead. Soon, you're completely covered in cum, and you honestly feel hotter than you ever have.
You look up at the two boys, who are looking back down at you with such adoration it almost makes you cry.
"Such a good girl for us." Tadashi says, smiling at you.
"So beautiful." Kei adds, running a hand through your hair.
**
After showering a second time, you meet the boys in Kei's room for aftercare. You're almost instantly snuggled between the two, Kei's arms wrapping around your waist as Tadashi nuzzles up to your chest. You're so warm and fuzzy that the throat pain is almost worth it.
You adjust yourself so you're looking at both of them.
"I made up my mind." You say.
The boys both turn to you.
"About what?" Tadashi asks before gasping. "Wait, really???"
You just giggle, running. a hand through his hair with a nod.
"I'll be your girlfriend." You say.
Tadashi squeals, hugging you tight. Kei sighs with relief, nuzzling his face in your hair. That evening, you fall asleep in the safety of their arms, and you don't even mind the feeling of Kei's semi-hard cock on the small of your back.
You're safe. Protected. Theirs.

It all started with a simple text conversation.
At first you didn’t mind it, maybe he was just tired from training.

You Today 6:23 pm
Ah! Okay, we can hang out next time then !!
Kei<3 Today 6:23 pm
mhm.
Soon enough, your relationship has gone to dust.
Ever since you’ve been official he has shown no interest in you.
Always avoiding hanging out with you, he hasn’t even told you about you two to any of his friends.
And he barely even showed that you two were together. You understood if he wanted to have a private relationship, but maybe he could’ve talked to you about it, so you won’t overthink about him not loving you anymore.
“Hey Kei! I just wanted to talk to you about something-”
“Not right now Y/n.”
“Okay.”
It barely felt like a relationship, it felt more like a distant friendship.
You’ve had enough.
You’ve been putting all your energy, affection, and your time in this one sided relationship.
He has shown no effort, nor did he care.
Did he care about you?
Did he just say yes because he pitied you?
You knocked on his door, his mom answered.
“Ah! Y/n! Kei is upstairs! Do you want anything? There’s tea in the cupboards, and water in the fridge. I’d love to stay and chat but I have to run some errands.” She smiles at you, she gives you a small hug and quickly leaves afterwards, waving to you goodbye.
You wave back and quickly close the door, running up the stairs as quickly as possible.
You knock on Kei’s door before letting yourself in.
He looks up from whatever he's writing on his desk to see who entered.
“Hi”
“Hi” you both exchange leaving an awkward silence.
Tsukishima looks back down on his desk to continue to work on his homework.
“So how have you been?”
“Okay”
“That’s good…”
Silence fills the room, the only thing you can hear is pen scribbling against some paper.
“How was your hangout with Yams the other day?”
“It was good”
“Okay…”
You try to think of another thing to spark a conversation, your thought only being interrupted by his voice.
“Is that all?” he asks in a monotone voice
“Ah, yes uhm, sorry to disturb your studies” you awkwardly said trying not to let the tears drop down
As you walk to the door, you froze. You start to think. If you didn’t end the relationship right now the empty feeling in your heart will go on as long as you will be alive.
"Y/n?” he says, interrupting your thoughts.
You finally snapped, you grabbed the nearest thing (which was a pile of laundry on his bed which he did not fold yet) and started throwing it at him, crying, frustrated.
“Ow! HEy!” He got up trying to block himself from your (weak) throws
Though he tried to hold you to calm you down you did not stop throwing clothes at him.
“Stop! What are you doing?” He finally got you to stop
“This is all wrong! This isn’t how it should be!” You yell, crying;
“What?” He questions
"I hate this. I can’t stand it! You don’t even look at me!”
He stares at you, even you can’t tell what he's feeling.
It proves he didn’t really care about me, you thought.
“You don’t care about me at all! You don’t care what I do!”
“You don’t love me anymore, do you?”
“Y/n-”
“I don’t think we’re in love anymore” you shout
“Y/n, calm down!”
“No! Why did you say yes in the first place?”
“...”
“I’m the only one that’s putting effort in this relationship.”
“I can’t do this!’ You yell as you run out of the door
“Y/n!”
He yelled after you, but he didn’t bother to run after you.
Cum guzzler i hate happy people and also sorry for the shitty ending I did not know how to end it 👎
