Hello!
If you're not too busy, would you mind listing some of the things you think count as death flags for Mr. Spender?
There's the obvious fact that he's the "old" mentor to group of young protagonists, but what else do you think would count?
OHH BOY ok so I'd think I'm a crackpot for this but since we're talking about Zack "Foreshadowing" Morrison. I have some thoughts
No harm in leading with the (chronologically) first thing that jumped out at me:
Tumblr media
This one IMMEDIATELY made me antsy whenever I came back to it after my initial read, and considering Zack has referred to it on twitter in the past as one of their favorite jokes it's definitely not been forgotten about.
Second, the sheer amounts of near-misses, jokey or not, of Spender narrowly avoiding specifically lightning
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Again, not much, but it's weird that it happened thrice, latter two of which had real gravitas rather than an one-off joke.
And third, Spender himself. He's repeatedly shown himself to be kind of a self sacrificing idiot, as well as prideful to a fault. Granted, it's both him and Mina trying to take on all the responsibility of saving Mayview and its inhabitants from their fate.. But Spender is exactly that right measure of doesn't-value-himself-enough (chest footprint aftercare or lack thereof), having an obscene amount of power (enables his loner act + pride) and poor judgement that has the capacity to put him at great risk. And it has!
Spender has not only shown low enough self-esteem to view himself as the de-facto scapegoat for the safety of the town, but also prideful enough to make very bad calls that end up in people, often himself, hurt (COUGH FORGE INCIDENT COUGH)
This is all conjecture, but it's definitely enough to make me worried about him :') Even if all this doesn't mean he'll necessarily die he's definitely getting (even more) seriously injured at some point. I love the guy but he's so far doing a horrible job of convincing me he wants to live bad enough to circumvent at least that
#not art#admin answers#paranatural#pnat#richard spender#pts-fic-notes-and-blog#before i continue on with tag ramble i just want to say tysm for leaving an ask!#none of my friends read this so ive been stewing on these thoughts for some months and i loved finally sharing them#this isn't exactly proof but the hijack possession seemingly being the final nail in the coffin for his and isabel's relationship.#idk it feels significant to me. thats one more tether to support kinda gone. someone who knows him well enough to know he's unwell#he seems not exactly content but fr incapable of not burning bridges as he is now. and considering how rashly he acts he REALLY needs those#to not do stupid shit all the god damn time with no buffer other than Lucifer. who for his measured approach to rick's hotheadedness#has honestly shown himself to be pretty lenient and kinda bad at controlling spender's more (self) destructive tendencies? so he dont count#to be clear i love spender to bits but he is dumb as rocks and has all the self preservation of a fruit fly. it needs to be said#also the lightning man... idk its WEIRD like especially on the reread its the thing that most consistently threatens him! it repeats#sure he gets chewed by a bat and banged up by forge but?? he somehow always comes back to lightning. catnine has it out for him#its something i didnt even really put together until i continued reading the flashback chapter AFTER getting this ask and went OHHHGNHF#which the only reason lightning is such a non issue is lucifer's powers. which belong to his sunglasses and not to the spirit in him#so its not like they can't be taken away he's just got a really good excuse for having those on all the time#TAGS GETTING SO LONG. ANYWAYS. i hope this is comprehensible lol

Dustin had enough of this shit.
He had been bummed that Steve graduated from Hawkins high the year before Dustin entered the ninth grade. Having Steve there would have been a buffer for Dustin, who - although he rarely admitted it - actually didn’t like being unpopular. As much as he hated being the victim of bullying, he hated the thought of changing himself even more - which is why he refused to.
He showed up to his first day of high school in his Weird Al shirt, because he would be damned to give an inaccurate impression of himself. He knew that after graduation, he’d turn out better than all the other assholes at the school anyway. He was smarter than them, he was better than them. He could get through four years of their bullshit until he proved that.
Although…Having Steve around would have made it a lot easier.
But, whatever. Steve had graduated. Dustin still called him all the time, and they hung out every so often, but Dustin knew that nineteen year olds didn’t have a lot in common with fourteen year olds, at least not enough to hang out regularly. They were like brothers, more than anything, and they were in a weird spot.
Thankfully, through some grace of God, Dustin met Eddie.
It was bound to happen, considering Dustin had wanted to join the Hellfire Club anyway. He’s already informed the rest of the group - Mike and Lucas - so that the three of them could still play DnD together. Lucas had seemed hesitant, but that was to be expected. Things were changing.
He missed Will. Will would have loved Hellfire, had he not been in California.
Dustin met Eddie Munson at lunch - his first lunch in high school. The food Hawkins High served was mildly disturbing and likely lacked any nutritional value, so Dustin was grateful that his mother had kept up the tradition of packing him a lunch special for his first day. She even included chocolate pudding, since it was his favorite.
Mike and Lucas weren’t going to be at lunch on the first day, because Lucas wanted to check out the basketball team, and Mike wanted to see if he could call El - she wasn’t starting school until the following week. This meant that Dustin was alone in the cafeteria, and he wasn’t entirely prepared to face the brutal sting of rejection, so he didn’t want to just pick a random table and try to make friends. He already had friends, they just weren’t there.
He stopped in his tracks and scanned the room, pondering his next move. There was no way he’d sit with the jocks or the cheerleaders, and the rest of the tables were unrecognizable in terms of what cliques they represented. This was nothing like he’d seen in movies - he didn’t even really know who the popular ones were versus the unpopular ones.
He must have been standing there for a bit too long, because suddenly he was nudged hard in the shoulder.
“Move it, loser,” a guy twice his size said. “You’re in everybody’s way.”
“S-sorry,” Dustin apologized. He took a few steps backward, deciding to just start walking and see what happens, but then he bumped into someone else.
“Jesus, kid,” another voice said. “You’re like a pinball.”
Dustin looked up to see a tall, rather intimidating man with long, curly brown hair. He was dressed in denim and leather, the Hellfire logo splayed across his chest. He looked way too old to be a high school student, but way too scary to be a faculty member.
Not scary in a dangerous way - Dustin had experienced enough real danger that most normal things didn’t faze him - but scary in a way where Dustin felt the person standing in front of him had some kind of power in the school. A reputation, at least, whether it be good or bad.
“Welcome back, Freak,” another random student remarked at him as they walked past. Dustin watched as the enigmatic metalhead flipped the student off with zero hesitation.
Ah, so it was for sure a bad reputation. Noted.
“So, I’m the school freak,” he said, theatrically bowing as he introduced myself. “Eddie. Eddie Munson. And you are…”
“Dustin Henderson,” he answered without a second thought.
“I was going to say -” Eddie continued, “- you are….wearing a Weird Al shirt. Bold move for your first day, Dustin Henderson.”
“How did you know it was my first day?” Dustin asked, grateful to be having some sort of civil conversation, even if he had no idea where it was going.
“Just a hunch,” Eddie replied with a shrug. Dustin looked back at Eddie’s shirt.
“You're in Hellfire?” he asked. Eddie grinned, then pointed at a table where a bunch of people were wearing the same shirts.
“Hellfire is my pride and joy. We play a game called Dungeons and Dragons, have you heard of it?” Before Dustin could confirm, Eddie kept talking. “Of course you’ve heard of it, look at you. You’re one of us, I know it.” Eddie gestured for Dustin to follow him to the Hellfire table, which he gladly did.
“Eddie, who’s this?” a member seated at the table asked when they approached.
“This, Gareth, is Dustin, and he’s sitting with us today.” Eddie pointed at an available seat, then looped around to his own. Dustin noticed a textbook in front of Gareth and chimed in.
“You’re taking chemistry?” he asked. Gareth nodded. “That’s cool. I love chemistry. I went to this awesome summer camp called Camp Know Where -”
“Sorry, sorry, sorry,” Eddie interrupted. “Did you just say you love chemistry? What kind of kid actually enjoys that shit? Are you a masochist? I failed that class twice.” Eddie’s rambling was entertaining, to say the least.
“Isn’t Camp Know Where that science program where all the geniuses go?” another person at the table asked.
“Jesus Christ,” Eddie exclaimed dramatically. “Okay, Dustin Henderson. I will protect you, since you so desperately need the protection. In return, you will join Hellfire, and occasionally help me with homework because you’re obviously smarter than half the people in this school. Deal?”
“Only half?” Dustin joked - although, it wasn’t really a joke. Dustin knew for a fact he was smarter than at least 75% of the school. “Fine, I accept these terms. Can my friends Mike and Lucas join too?” Eddie rolled his eyes and sighed.
“You’re killing me,” he said. “Yeah, yeah. Bring all the Freshies in, I guess. No one will come near you if you stick with us, but you’ll avoid being stuffed in lockers at least.” That seemed like a good enough deal to Dustin, for now. “Alright, kid. Welcome to Hellfire.”
-
Dustin recounted this entire interaction with Steve the moment he’d gotten home from school.
“Eugh, Hellfire?” Steve said over the phone, acting disgusted. “That club’s for nerds.”
“Earth to Steve, I am a nerd,” Dustin deadpanned. “And Eddie said -”
“Oh god, not Munson,” Steve groaned. “That guy’s trouble, I swear. Seriously, you should get out of this while you can.”
“And go where?” Dustin retorted, starting to get agitated. “It’s not like I can float through school like you did by joining all the sports teams. I’m gonna be made fun of either way, and you know it.” Steve was silent on the line for a bit, knowing that Dustin was right.
“I wish I could be there to watch over you, ya know,” he said at last.
“Yeah, I wish you could too, but I have Eddie at least.”
Eddie. Ugh. Steve hated that guy. He was always doing something weird and dramatic to try to get a reaction from people.
“Yeah, okay. But I’ll kick his ass if he tries anything, alright?” Dustin laughed.
“Sure you will, Buddy.”
-
Mike and Lucas were far more terrified of Eddie than Dustin was. He knew why - Eddie had shown a bit of kindness that first day, but he wasn’t usually like that. Eddie was the kind of guy who loved attention, and he knew the best way for him to get it was through negative attention. He consistently made an ass of himself.
Dustin enjoyed it. Mike and Lucas didn’t not enjoy it, but they still felt like he was unhinged. Maybe he was. Dustin didn’t think about it that much.
Him and Eddie had bonded pretty quickly, especially since Dustin would hang around after lunch or club meetings to talk about homework. Eddie had a lot of questions, and he was kind of a horrible student. This was especially evident when Dustin discovered he was a third year senior, which explained why the guy looked so goddamn old.
“Damn,” Dustin said once he found out. “You’re even older than Steve. Wait - you might know Steve actually. He graduated last year. Steve Harrington?”
Eddie Munson did an actual spit take with his soda. Dustin had only ever seen that in movies.
“No shit,” Eddie responded. “You know that asshole?”
“He’s not an asshole,” Dustin replied immediately, quick to defend his friend. “He’s awesome.”
Dustin opened his mouth to continue, but it was hard to explain why Steve was awesome when he had to leave Upside Down stuff out of it. He totally saved us from a bunch of Demodogs, and one time he got tortured for information underground by evil Russians. Dustin considered mentioning the time Steve protected the kids from Billy - that was unrelated to the secret world the group had been privy to - but, considering Hargrove’s death, it felt in bad taste to bring up now.
“So you’re trying to tell me that you’re friends with the guy?” Eddie asked suspiciously. “Why? I mean, why would he be friends with a kid so much younger than him?”
“Why are you?” Dustin retorted. Eddie chuckled.
“Touche. But I know why I’m friends with a bunch of kids, why is he?”
“It’s complicated,” Dustin replied with a shrug. “But Steve’s pulled through for me a lot. He’s cool. You should give him a chance.”
“Give him a chance? I don’t ever see him. Are you trying to have us all hang out for a slumber party or something?” Dustin shook his head and was about to respond, but Eddie was on a roll (as usual). “Listen, Henderson. You’re cool and all, and I’m glad you joined our little clan here. But you wouldn’t want to hang out with me outside of this hellhole we call school, and I certainly wouldn’t want to hang out with Steve goddamn Harrington.”
There was a definitive finality to his statement that let Dustin know there was no point in arguing. But it did leave him wondering what exactly had happened to cause them to dislike each other so much.
-
Dustin blew through his first few weeks of school like this. He’d visit Steve and mention Eddie, and Steve would complain about how Eddie was a bad influence and would probably get arrested before graduation, if he ever did graduate. Any time Dustin brought up Steve in Hellfire, Eddie would groan and complain about the forced conformity and bullshit societal infrastructure at the high school that separated the good from the bad and blah blah blah. Dustin probably had that speech damn near memorized. Eddie seemed to hate the jocks, and for decent enough reason - the jocks hated him. And Dustin knew that Steve was kind of a dick in high school, but he’d changed now.
So, yeah. He’d had enough. He just thought that if maybe he could get the two of them in the same room, they’d start to understand why Dustin liked each of them so much. They were both good guys who were protective of him, and he wanted them to get along, dammit!
Steve always went to the basketball games to support Lucas and the rest of the team, which was nice. On nights where the games coincided with Hellfire, Steve would drive Dustin home after.
On one of these nights, Dustin hatched a bit of a plan. Usually, Hellfire got out before the game was over, so Dustin would meet Steve outside of the gym. This time, Dustin intentionally stayed late to help Eddie clean up and talk his ear off about his upcoming biology report. Eddie seemed to be in decent enough spirits, fresh off another successful campaign, and Steve was in a good mood because he now had a job again with Robin. It gave him money to take women out on dates, which he did often.
As Dustin chatted with Eddie, there was a pounding on the door.
“Hey, Dipshit!” Steve called from the other side. “Are you in there? Did Munson kill you or something?” Dustin grimaced as he gaged Eddie’s reaction to the comment, but thankfully Eddie seemed amused more than anything.
“Sure did,” Eddie shouted back with a grin. “Bite me, Harrington.” Dustin rolled his eyes.
“I’m fine, Steve!” he yelled. “Come in!”
“You’re inviting him into my sacred space?” Eddie asked with feigned offense.
“Your sacred space?” Dustin mocked. “You mean the drama club room? Based on the shit I’ve heard, it’s the least sacred spot on school property.” Eddie was laughing as Steve opened the door and came in.
“You guys making fun of me?” he asked, his chest puffed out in his silly Steve way. Dustin didn’t find Steve or Eddie that intimidating, because he saw right through their tough guy act. They were both goofballs.
“Always,” Eddie replied, returning to his cleaning tasks. “So, you’re Dustin’s ride home huh? How’d you guys become friends in the first place?” Steve hesitated, facing the same issue Dustin had when he’d been asked the same thing. Thankfully, he’d had more time to prepare since then.
“Steve used to date Mike’s sister,” Dustin stated plainly. Steve opened his mouth to object to the sharing of that information, but then Dustin added - “And then I annoyed him into being my friend.”
“That’s not really -” Steve grimaced, then realized that was the best version of the story either of them could provide. “Yeah, okay. The kid really worms his way into your heart.”
“I know, right?” Eddie replied absentmindedly. Dustin was thrilled to see them agree on something. It was a moment where he hoped they’d realize they could actually get along. “I remember when you dated Nancy Wheeler. I’m surprised it didn’t work out, since you were so perfect for each other.”
Okay, so maybe they wouldn’t get along. The way Eddie had said the word perfect almost seemed like an insult. To Eddie, it was. Dustin noticed Steve tensing and felt the need to mediate.
“Anyway,” he said, searching for something, anything, to redirect the conversation. He wasn’t sure when he was gonna get them in the same room again, so he couldn’t just leave. “How was the game, Steve?” Eddie rolled his eyes when Steve lit up again.
“We lost,” he answered. Dustin noticed Eddie hiding a smirk under one of his ringed hands. “It’s a shame they keep Lucas on the bench, although he’s a Freshman so it makes sense I guess. I mean, that’s how it always has been.”
“You mean to tell me,” Eddie interjected. Oh boy. “- that a high school sports team values a players popularity over their talent?” He scoffed. “Probably why you got so much airtime, right Harrington?”
Oh Jesus Christ this is bad. This is going badly. Steve was clearly offended by that comment, and rightfully so.
“Eddie, can you just - be nice?” Dustin pleaded.
“Since when am I nice?” Eddie shot back, picking the last of his papers up and stuffing them in his bag.
“You’re nice to me,” Dustin pointed out.
“Yeah, because I like you,” Eddie replied, “-and as I’ve said to you multiple times, I don’t like him.” Eddie gestured vaguely in Steve’s direction.
“What did I ever even do to you, Munson?” Steve questioned, finally deciding to stand up for himself. “Seriously man, you’re being a dick.”
“I know what you think of me,” Eddie answered plainly. “I’m just calling it like I see it.”
“Okay, well this has been sufficiently awkward and horrible,” Dustin sighed, finally giving up. “I was wrong, you two are hopeless. Eddie, Steve’s right. You’re being a dick.” That accusation actually did seem to have an effect on Eddie, even though he tried not to let it show. “Steve, let’s go home.”
On the walk to the car, Steve had already seemed to brush the whole interaction off.
“I told you that guy’s no good,” he said. “Thanks for defending me, by the way.”
“I promise he’s not usually like that,” Dustin assured him. But, come to think of it, that kind of was how Eddie usually spoke to people, especially the popular kids. But Dustin was in Hellfire, he was one of them, as Eddie said, and he treated the freaks far differently and with more respect.
His two cool older guy friends were bound to hate each other, he realized. No getting around it, no point in trying to change it.
_______________________________________
Eddie had gone to Family Video countless times over the years, because what else were people supposed to do in Hawkins, Indiana? It was cheaper and involved less people than going to the movies, and it was something to entertain him while he was home.
Imagine his surprise when he walked into the store one day and saw none other than Steve Harrington behind the counter.
The green vest Steve was forced to wear was a lot more masculine than the get-up he’d worn at Scoops Ahoy over the Summer. Eddie had the pleasure of seeing him a few times at the mall in his little short shorts and stupid hat, and it was an image he sorely missed. Seeing King Steve pathetically dressed and striking out with women post-graduation? Delicious.
He’d only let himself visit once, although he may have done it again had the mall not burned down. But alas, Steve’s sailor outfit days were short-lived, and now he was back to being the same old boring jock he always had been - just now, he didn’t even play sports.
Eddie may have been in his third go-around of senior year, but at least he wasn’t pretending he was someone he wasn’t. He embraced his freak nature, and had grown comfortable in it. Life hadn’t been kind enough to him to give him the option of the niceties people like Steve took advantage of.
“Hey, man,” Steve greeted him as he entered the door. He was so nonchalant about it, like he didn’t even care about Eddie’s presence. Eddie didn’t care too much about Steve being there, except he did. There was a fire in Eddie's dislike for Steve that seemed one sided. Steve being almost indifferent made Eddie hate him even more. “Let me know if I can help you find anything.” Eddie ignored Steve’s surprisingly sincere customer service and went directly to the row of movies he always went to. He scanned the selection - it looked about the same as it had the last ten times he’d reviewed it - then picked one of his favorites and brought it to the counter.
Steve didn’t say anything more than that as he went through the rental process. It was all over in less than two minutes, and Eddie was mildly disappointed in the lack of drama. If Steve wasn’t an asshole, then what? Was Eddie the asshole all along?
Yeah. Yeah, he absolutely was.
He was on his way out when he stopped, then spun on his heels to face Steve at the counter again.
“Listen, man,” he began. Steve looked up from the pile of VHS tapes he was sorting, seemingly unbothered by any of this. “I’m sorry about, uh - about the other night.”
“Thanks,” Steve responded with a nod. Eddie could never really just leave things alone, though.
“Dustin was right,” he continued.
“The little shit usually is.” Steve had returned his gaze to the movies in front of him.
“Yeah,” Eddie chuckled, a bit too forcefully in an attempt to ease the tension. “I’ll see you around, then.”
“See ya,” Steve responded. Eddie pouted, not satisfied with how that went, and he wasn’t sure why. But whatever. He was gonna go home, get high, and watch the movie. A good night was ahead.
He paused at the door when the phone rang, pretending to get distracted by a cardboard cutout near the window.
“Family Video,” Steve said on the phone. “Woah, shit. Dustin, calm down. Where are you?” This got Eddie’s attention, and he raced back to the counter. “Okay, I’ll figure something out.”
“What’s up with Henderson?” Eddie asked, his concern growing.
“I guess some guys are picking on him. He called from the side of the road on a pay phone near the power plant.”
“Jesus, what did they do to him? Is he okay?”
“He’s great, that’s why he called,” Steve shot back sarcastically. He ran a hand through his hair and sighed. “I don’t know if I can just leave my shift since I just started this job like three days ago. Shit.”
“I’ll go,” Eddie offered. “The plant is right by my place anyway. Don’t sweat it.” Steve eyed Eddie suspiciously, then nodded.
“Okay, I guess. Just - can you call here once you know he’s safe?”
“Sure thing, Harrington.” It was a brief, genuine moment between the two of them, both desperate to protect the tiny child they each adored so much.
And with that, Eddie bolted out of Family Video, to his van, and towards the plant.
Dustin had apparently been chased down and recaptured after he called Steve, because Eddie found him tied to a pole a bit further down the street.
“Eddie!” he yelled once they locked eyes. “Get me out of this shit!”
Dustin was doing his damndest to break free from the binds, but it was no use. Eddie took his pocket knife out from where he always kept them tucked in his jeans and got to work, successfully freeing the little twerp once he stopped squirming.
“Who did this? Where are they?” Eddie felt the heat rising in his chest, up his neck, and to his cheeks. “How’d they even get a hold of you? Why are you all the way over here? What -”
“Jesus, Eddie,” Dustin interrupted him. “It doesn’t matter. I just wanna go home.”
Eddie looked Dustin up and down and noticed a bruise forming on his jaw.
“Come on, my trailer is right there,” Eddie said, pointing in the vague direction of Forest Hills. “Let’s get you cleaned up first.”
_______________________________________
Steve tried to wait idly by while he entrusted a guy like Eddie to go rescue Dustin. He tried to do the responsible thing for once and stay at his stupid job so he could keep said job. He tried not to think about how Eddie could have been behind this whole thing, for all he knew. Some sick twisted mind game. He tried not to think about any of that.
He lasted two minutes before he called Robin and begged her to fill in. She accepted after a few minutes of persuasion - after all, Steve didn’t ask her for things very often, and he always drove her around, so she kinda owed him. It took her about fifteen agonizing minutes to get there, and just as she walked in the door, the phone rang.
“Family video,” he greeted, hoping a familiar voice would be on the other end.
“Steve, it’s me,” Dustin’s voice called through the phone. “I’m at Eddie’s. I’m okay.”
“Where does he live?” Steve asked, still hellbent on leaving.
“At the trailer park. You don’t have to -”
Steve dropped the phone and ran out the door, not even bothering to hang it back up on the receiver. He headed to Forest Hills, and was thankfully able to locate Eddie’s trailer pretty quickly due to the beat-up red van parked in front of it. He stumbled out of his own car as soon as it stopped, nearly forgetting to take his keys from the ignition. Maybe it was silly for him to worry about Dustin so much, but after what they’d been through together, Steve had learned to treat everything as life or death.
The door pushed open from the stress of his knock alone, so he let himself in.
Eddie’s place was small, messy, and smelled of smoke. But, it was clear the place was a home. Steve’s house was a hundred times bigger and somehow contained less.
“Dustin?” Steve called as he walked deeper into the living room. “Eddie?”
“Bathroom!” Steve followed the voice down the hall to where Eddie was tending to a bruise forming on Dustin’s jaw.
“Who did this? Where are they?” Eddie chuckled, and Steve almost lashed out because of it, but then Eddie explained.
“That’s exactly what I said when I found him, Harrington.” Steve took note of the care that Eddie was actually putting into his first aid. It was surprisingly gentle. “Good luck getting him to rat the bastards out.”
“I told you, it doesn’t matter,” Dustin groaned.
“Whoever it was, we can take ‘em,” Steve insisted. He noticed Eddie smirk at the inclusion of them both taking the bullies down.
“You idiots!” Dustin snapped, standing up from where he was sitting on the lip of the bathtub. “Don’t you get it? I don’t want you to ‘take ‘em.’ It was embarrassing enough to have them pick on me, I don’t need you guys to go down there and humiliate me even more.”
“We’re just trying to protect you, man,” Eddie replied.
“I don’t need protection!” Dustin shouted, causing Eddie and Steve to back up. “My bike isn’t far. I’m going home. Eddie, thanks for cutting me down. Steve, thanks for leaving work when I asked you to. You’re both really good friends, and I appreciate it. I just want to go home.”
It broke Steve’s heart to know that Dustin was getting picked on. He just wanted to help, but he understood the whole pride thing. Steve had fought many uphill battles in the past in the name of saving face. Ironically, his face was usually what took the brunt of the consequences.
“You sure you’re gonna be -” Eddie began to ask the question before Steve was able to, but stopped himself when Dustin shot a glare at them both. “Right, okay. Can you just call when you get home okay?”
“Me too,” Steve added.
“Okay, mom and dad,” Dustin replied, rolling his eyes. “Or, Steve could stay here ten minutes and then I’d only have to make one call. Unless you guys will murder each other by then.”
“Jury’s out,” Eddie muttered. Steve felt like it was a joke, but also Eddie gave off psycho killer vibes, so anything was possible. “Sure, Harrington. You can stay here until he gets home.”
Steve wanted to think of a witty comeback, but his head was empty. He could stay, and then he figured he should get back to work.
“Fine,” he agreed. “But the moment you walk through your door, got it?”
“Yes, dad,” Dustin deadpanned.
“I thought I was dad,” Eddie cut in.
“You think I’m mom?”
“Ten minutes, no murders,” Dustin reminded them before heading out the door. There was a beat of silence before Steve and Eddie turned to each other once again.
“So, we’re definitely gonna go to that plant and kick some ass, right?” Eddie asked, his tone completely devoid of its usual teasing. Steve smirked.
“Finally, we’re on the same page,” he replied.
Ten minutes later, Dustin called as promised. Seconds after the call disconnected, Steve and Eddie made a beeline for the front door.
-
It was getting dark, even though it was a bit too early for the sun to set. Clouds were forming in the sky, a bleak omen of the impending storm that neither Eddie nor Steve had prepared for.
They walked to the plant in silence, because what was there to be said? They were going to tolerate each other to defeat the common enemy.
A group of misfits were in fact still camped out under one of the towers. They were all smoking and laughing and spouting nonsensical vitriol about the student body - kids like Dustin, as well as the women of the school. If Eddie and Steve weren’t heated already, the few comments they’d overheard sent them over the edge.
“Hey!” Steve shouted, cutting one of the guys off. Five pairs of eyes flickered over to the pair, who’d realized once they were in the situation that they were vastly outnumbered.
“Steve Harrington?” One of the boys questioned. “What are you doing over here?”
“And with Munson?” Another added. “I never thought I’d see the two of you together.”
“Neither did I,” Steve and Eddie said in unison. They glanced at each other, awkwardly acknowledging that they’d said the same thing at the same time, then hastily moved on.
“Is this about the boy?” The leader of the group was probably a Junior, and shorter than both Eddie and Steve, but he had enough audacity to make up for it.
“Found him tied to a pole,” Eddie reminded them through gritted teeth. This was news to Steve, who’s blood boiled at the thought. A few years prior, Tommy and Carol used to do shit like that. Maybe not to that extent, but it was all the same.
“Why do you care so much about that dumbass anyway?” The leader (was his name Chad?) asked.
“He’s totally harmless,” Steve said.
“Us on the other hand…” Eddie interjected.
“Oh yeah,” Steve agreed. “I’ve been known to throw a punch, and Eddie over here  is actually insane, I’m pretty sure.”
“Aw, thanks man,” Eddie grinned devilishly, smacking Steve on the back. “Our point being, you stay away from Henderson and we won’t break anything, okay?”
Thunder cracked in the distance, followed by a flash of lightning.
“Yeah, okay,” Chad mocked. “We’re not scared of you.” Eddie and Steve looked at each other, shrugged, then both trudged forward. Eddie took Chad while Steve went for the one who appeared to be second in command. They each pushed them against the metal pillars, gripping them by the collar of their shirts, and drawing their other hand back into a fist.
“How about now?” Eddie asked with darkness in his eyes.
“Let’s get out of here,” one of the others in the group said, and within moments the other three bullies scampered away into the night.
“Some loyal friends you got there,” Eddie teased. Steve was getting agitated at how many stupid quips Eddie had. Was he supposed to be all quippy too? Was that the secret to winning one of these goddamn things?
Thunder rumbled again, this time much louder than before. Rain started to fall hard against their skin, distracting them enough for the two pathetic bullies to slip from their gasps and follow their friends out of sight.
“Shit,” Steve groaned, realizing that they’d just made a fool of themselves. “Not only did we not hurt them, but they’re definitely going to tell people about it, and then -”
“Is that seriously what you’re worried about right now?” Eddie interrupted, the rage in him still burning. “Your reputation? Claaassic Steve Harrington, always thinking about himself.”
“That’s not what I was saying, asshole,” Steve responded. “Dustin’s going to find out, and then -”
“So what if he does?” Eddie asked. Steve was sick and tired of being interrupted. “If they mess with him again, then -”
“Could you let me finish a goddamn sentence? Holy shit,” Steve exclaimed, thoroughly irritated. The rain was falling steadily now, the drops heavy as they hit him. His hair was already starting to feel weighed down to his scalp. Perfect. Just perfect. “Dustin told us not to do anything, and then we did, okay? So what do you think that little shrimp’s gonna do when he finds out, huh?”
“He’ll handle it, Harrington,” Eddie shot back. “He’s a big boy.”
“Oh, come on!” Steve groaned. “Don’t give me that bullshit when ten minutes ago you dropped everything to rescue him like he was some lost puppy.”
“Because he was tied to a pole!” Eddie responded.
“That would have been helpful to know before we headed out here, by the way.” Steve put his hands on his hips and planted his feet in the mud. It was way too late to worry about his appearance, now.
“Oh, Jesus H. Christ,” Eddie sighed, taking a step towards Steve. “You’re just as awful as I thought you were.”
“Oh, really?” Steve said, taking another step forward to meet Eddie. “Back atcha.”
“Fuck off.”
“Fuck off.”
There was another loud crack of thunder as both of them shoved the other at the same time, causing them both to stumble backwards until they each hit one of the metal pillars extending down from the plant.
A flash of light. A quick, searing pain. Then, they each dropped to their knees and fell into the mud.
-
It felt like a sudden hangover, and a bad one. Eddie opened his eyes and cringed at the feeling of mud under his fingernails and up his arms.
For a moment, he’d forgotten how he ended up on the ground. It felt like he was somewhere different, and he wasn’t sure why. He sat up, extremely disoriented, and then focused on a similar crumpled heap across from him. It took a second for Eddie to make out Steve’s features in the dark, but then his head angled upwards, their eyes met, and everything got a whole lot more complicated.
“Steve…” Eddie began, speaking slowly. He couldn’t believe what he was seeing. “Why the hell do you look like me, man?”
The man across from him had the same features Eddie had come to know in his own reflection - the same style, same hair, same everything, but no - that didn’t make any sense.
“I was going to ask you the same thing,” the man replied. The man, who answered to Steve, but couldn’t possibly be. No, Eddie was dreaming. He’d done some hallucinogenic and forgot and now he was tripping. That had to be the case.
They both stood up, mirroring each other, and for a moment Eddie thought that maybe that’s all this was. Some trick of the light. Maybe, there was a mirror at the power plant for some reason, and he was just staring at himself. Sure, the other guy responded to him, but he couldn’t think about that.
He waved at himself, but the guy across from him didn’t wave back. There went the mirror theory.
It was still raining, but it had lightened up quite a bit. The two men took a few tentative steps towards each other, their eyes adjusting.
“So, this is…I mean, we are…” Eddie fumbled over words that didn’t make sense.
“What kind of weird cult shit did you do to me?” Steve accused, his voice rising. “Did you drug me? Sacrifice me to the devil or something?”
“Dude, are you fucking serious right now?” Eddie groaned, throwing his head back. “I didn’t do shit.”
“Then what happened?” Steve snapped. “How did we - Like, you’re seeing this too, right?”
“Yeah, I’m seeing it.” Eddie finally took a moment to look down, noticing a vastly different wardrobe than the one he remembered putting on.
Including a green vest.
“Holy shit,” Steve said. It was weird hearing his voice with Steve’s words.
The idea of saying it out loud - dude, we switched bodies - seemed too batshit insane to consider. So, naturally, Eddie did what he knew best.
“No. Nope. Not happening.” he shook his head and took off towards his trailer.
“Hey. Hey!” Eddie’s own voice echoed behind him, followed by footsteps that got louder and louder as Eddie desperately tried to get away. He didn’t even look back until he was safely in his trailer again, the feeling of home making him feel slightly more at ease. “Dude, we gotta figure this out.” Steve followed him in, of course.
“Why? Why do we have to? Why can’t I just shower and go to sleep and hopefully wake up from this nightmare?”
“Because I don’t think we’re gonna wake up,” Steve said with a shrug. “And because if you shower right now you’re gonna see my dick, and so I think we should, like, talk first.” Eddie barked out a bitter laugh.
“Don’t flatter yourself, Harrington. Would you feel better if I bought you dinner first?” He continued to walk down the hall to his bathroom, where first aid supplies were still strewn about, and that’s when he caught himself in the mirror.
Sure enough, Steve Harrington stared back at him. He looked a little worse for wear with his hair wet and disheveled and streaks of mud on his face, but no amount of dirt could change the pretty boy Steve was and always would be. He nearly spat at the image. Eddie’s familiar figure joined him in the bathroom, where they stood shoulder to shoulder and stared at themselves for an absurd amount of time. It was the closest they’d ever been to each other for more than a few fleeting seconds, but they were too stunned to do anything about their proximity.
“Okay, so…” Steve said, watching Eddie’s mouth move as he said it.
“I’m you,” Eddie responded, finishing the thought.
“And I’m you,” Steve finished. Their eyes stayed focused on their reflections for a while longer. How long exactly, it was tough to say.
“So, what the fuck do we do now, then?” Eddie asked, finally breaking his gaze to look at Steve - er, himself, he guessed.
What did they do now? That was certainly the question.
____________________________
Steve had gotten used to weird shit happening to him, but this was a whole new world of weird.
“I guess…” Steve searched for a plan, but he had no semblance of one. His head was completely empty. Probably because I’m using Eddie’s head, he thought to himself. “I should call Robin and tell her I’m not coming back to work.”
“You mean I should call Robin, since I am you now apparently.” Steve scoffed.
“You’re not me, alright? You just look like me, for some reason,” he argued. “Maybe we should call Dustin.”
“Yeah, because he’s soooo happy with us right now,” Eddie responded. “What do we say when he asks us what happened? We did the thing he told us not to do, and now we’re facing the consequences.”
“Consequences?” Steve repeated. “No, no. On any other day, in any other town, we would have done what we did and nothing would have happened. This isn’t a consequence, this is just my goddamn luck.”
“You’re acting like this is just any regular day for you,” Eddie complained. “Do you body swap with your enemies often?” Steve shot him a glare. The actual answer of, no but I’ve had a bunch of other weird shit happen, was on the tip of his tongue. If only Eddie knew what was really going on in Hawkins. Steve thought Eddie probably had his head up his own ass too much to notice, anyway. “Fine. I’ll call Robin.”
“Don’t say anything I wouldn’t, okay?” Steve warned, suddenly terrified at the power Eddie had to do some damage if he wanted to.
“Don’t worry, I know exactly what to say.” Eddie went to his phone and dialed the number to the video store. “Hi, Robin. It’s me, your coworker, Steeeeve Harrington.”
Great start. Jesus.
“Dude,” Steve whined, nudging Eddie’s shoulder. “I don’t sound like that.”
“Yeah, I’m still at Eddie’s,” he continued on the phone. “Dustin’s okay. Can you finish my shift?” Huh. After the playfully performative introduction, Eddie seemed to actually act normal on the phone. “Great, thanks a bunch.” Just when Steve thought they were in the clear, Eddie tagged on a final line. “See ya later, Sweetheart,” followed by a bunch of kissing noises.
Steve wrestled the phone from ‘Steve’ and slammed it against the receiver.
“What the hell was that?”
“That -” Eddie said with a grin, “- was fun.” Steve’s eyes narrowed as anger began coursing through his veins. Anger, mixed with fear. Fear of this guy he hated, who now had full control of his life.
“If you mess with my life, Munson, I swear to god -”
“What?” Eddie cut him off, barely fazed. “What are you gonna do? Get me back? Harrington, I’ve got nothing to lose. I’m already the school freak, nobody gives a shit what I do.”
He had a fair point. Steve scrambled to think of a way, any way, he could get under Eddie’s skin the way Eddie was under his.
“You have Hellfire,” he blurted out. Steve knew from Dustin just how much Eddie loved that stupid club. Based on Eddie’s reaction, Steve had made the right call. “I could tank it,” he continued. “Give up your title as dungeon manager or whatever.”
“Dungeon Master,” Eddie corrected him through gritted teeth. “You wouldn’t.”
“Oh, I would,” Steve insisted. “If you mess with me, I’ll mess right back.”
They stared at each other, knowing that each of them were serious.
“Fine,” Eddie agreed. “I will play nice.” He stuck his hand out in front of him for Steve to shake. Steve hesitantly did so, not sure if he believed a word out of Eddie’s mouth.
He was right to be mistrusting. Eddie had the fingers of his other hand crossed behind his back.

Tumblr media
    Class 3-A has four unspoken rules:
    Number one: never play music out loud beyond 8 pm (tried and tested by Denki himself, got blown up by Bakugo)
    Number two: don't leave your room at 2 am or a certain grape pervert would harass you
    Number three: refrain from mentioning crocs to Kirishima. Just don’t.
    And number four: never tell you or Shouto that both of you like each other (just for the sake of entertainment)
    It had become customary to not break these four rules or those who dare break it is rumored to have a thousand year duration of bad luck to be passed down generation after generation.
    That said, Mina was fed up with the mutual pining you and Shouto clearly exhibit. For two years she watched both of you shy and fluster with one another. His face beet red while you a fumbling mess. Truly a sight to behold. It was like watching a romance movie in real time, but without the stupid opening track.
    At first she thought it was cute, it all started one morning during her first year in U.A. You forgot your jacket that day after waking up late and thus have to rush to get on time. Aizawa would have your head if you weren't there in homeroom. So in your idiocy and frantic state, you forgot most of the essential stuff and that includes, of course, a warm jacket.
    Mina watched as Shouto stared at you from across the room.  With tense shoulders as his gaze constantly drift from your form to his jacket. Her mouth curled upwards, interested with the current situation. It was not every day one could see the infamous Todoroki Shouto so nervous.
    She eagerly kept her attention on him, watching as Shouto got up from his seat and slowly made his way to you with shaky legs. Shouto, barely uttering a word, shoved his jacket to you and rushed back to his seat. At that moment, Mina already knew something was blossoming between you and him.
    And so it basically became her life mission to make sure you and Shouto end up with one another. She made the promise two years ago, and yet here you both were, two dorks that has a crush on each other but couldn't confess even if the world ends that very moment.
    Was it difficult to watch? Yes.
   It took all of Mina's entire being to not push his head into yours. She knows the consequences if one breaks the fourth rule. Two years had already pass and graduation is around the corner, she refuses to accept that both of you aren't a couple. As Class 3-A's resident cupid and match maker, she is more than determined to make sure you and him both end up together. Mina would not be inherently breaking rule number four, just gonna give you guys a lil' push with the help of a friend. And that friend is one that possesses an electrification quirk.
    "Okay, what do we tell (____) tomorrow?" Denki asked.
    Shouto looked over his written notes one last time before nodding and giving his answer, "I'll ask them if they want to have coffee."
    "Good! Make sure to?"
    "I'll make sure to keep eye contact and. . ." he halted, going over his notes once more. "And make sure that I'm smiling."
    Denki flashed him a grin. Clasping a hand around his shoulder and lightly patting it afterwards. "Now, don't forget the lesson I've taught you today. It is important that your date goes smoothly with (____)."
    Shouto eagerly nodded, stars dancing in his eyes. His heart clamored inside his chest, beating in a quick tempo comparable to that of allegro. Sweat accumulated on his palm, in which Shouto then hastily wiped it on his shirt. Despite nervousness bubbling inside his stomach, Shouto admits that he is excited to ask you out.  "Do you really think (____) and I would be a great couple?"
    "Of course, dude! Right, Mina?" Denki turned to his friend. She gave him two thumbs-up, giving fuel to Shouto's confidence for tomorrow's event.
    Now that Denki is done giving him an hour-long lesson about asking you out and things to do in a date, Mina was sure everything would go smooth as butter. Like, what could go wrong? Despite Shouto being a dork and foreign to the concept of love, he still has that natural charm that had some swooning for him.
    Though, she spoke all too soon.
    Mina facepalmed, dragging her palm across her face as Shouto stood frozen before you. She and Denki should've seen this coming.
    "(____)," he started, his voice cracking at the end. Suddenly the discoloration and grime in between the cracks of the wall looks interesting. He kept looking everywhere but you.
    You tilted your head to the side, "What's up, Sho?"
    Heavens above, Shouto loves that nickname.
    The male fiddles with the ends of his shirt, his tongue twisting and throat closing which makes it hard to speak. After class had ended, Shouto came up to you asking if he could talk to you somewhere private. He led you to the area behind the gym where no students are on sight. Well, that is except for Mina and Denki who closely followed behind to make sure Shouto wouldn't mess up his chance. The two stayed low, making sure they are well hidden behind the bush nearby.
   This was now the moment; the perfect chance for Shouto to ask you out after practicing his lines over and over again. It was a simple question: ‘Do you want to have coffee with me this weekend if you are free?”
   Should be easy enough right?
    "I- well- uhh. . ." he scratched the area behind his ear. "D-do you maybe want to free?"
    Shouto paled, he'd done messed up.
    "Wait that's wrong—" he took a deep breath. "Are you coffee this weekend?"
    Really? Really Shouto?
    "Shit— wait! Coffee this free??"
    Can someone take this lost child away?
    Denki bit his inner cheek, hands tugging his hair from second hand embarrassment. He had fate on him; had fate that Shouto had rehearsed enough the night before in asking you out. Guess he was wrong.
    "What do you mean by that?" you voiced out. You were beyond puzzled, unsure what to make of the situation. First he asks to speak with you in private, now he's a stuttering mess. Could it be that he's confessing? Asking you out?
    Your heart quickened at the thought. You were ready to say 'yes'.
    "What I mean is uhh. . ." Shouto wished he has his written notes. "Are you weekend for this coffee?"
    "YES!!" you shout without thinking.
    Wait, what? Hold up.
    "Aight, I'm forcing these two to kiss each other." Mina announced. That’s it. She lost hope for the both of you. You and Shouto need professional help. She adjusted her position, ready to get up and intervene. That is until Denki lay a heavy hand on her shoulder.
    "Wait," he motioned his head to you. Mina huffed, sitting down once more.
    "Sho. . ." you start, a soft smile on your face.
    "Y-yes?" damn, Shouto is such a stuttering mess.
    "Do you want to grab a coffee this weekend? I mean, if you are free?"
    He blinked, your words slowly being registered in his brain. There was a buffer, like an old computer processing 10 kilobyte worth of data. His brain was stuck on 78% in the progress bar. Then, it dawned on him; the cogs and gears turning. It took a full minute for Shouto to understand. "I-. . .I’d love to!" he managed to stutter out.
    Welp, at least that did the job. Denki and Mina released a sigh of relief. High-fiving each other despite the obvious fact that Shouto failed his task.
    But hey, beggars can't be choosers. All's well, ends well.
Tumblr media
    You can't believe it.
    You have a date with Shouto. THE Todoroki Shouto. The guy you've had a crush on since your first year in UA. The one that swept you right off your feet the moment you laid your eyes on him. The friend that always had your back. With him struggling to ask you earlier, could it mean that he likes you more than a friend?
    You let out a squeal, pressing the pillow flush against your chest. In total, you've replayed the scene from memory for over fifty times already. You couldn't even concentrate in doing your homework. So you thought instead of doing your responsibilities, you opted to celebrate by screaming and running around your room in glee.
   It wasn't everyday you'd get a douse of serotonin.
   You’ve waited for this day since forever. Day dreaming about Shouto being your significant other; holding hands with him, wrapping your arms around his torso, and kissing his lips.
   The thought brought forth another pterodactyl squeal from you.
   Oh gods, what would you wear? Should it be casual? Semi-formal? Formal?
   A wedding dress??
   No one told you a date was this stressful. You groaned, prying opening your wardrobe cabinet to quickly plan out an outfit. You can’t afford to look stupid and, dare you say, cheap when you’re on a date with the most sought after male in UA.
   Meanwhile, Shouto is also panicking.
   “Look man, you messed up once but that’s okay!” Denki cheered him up. “Experience is the best teacher.”
   “I know but. . .” Shouto took one deep breath, burying his face in his hands. “I-. . .I just froze up the moment I was in front of them.”
   “And that’s normal!”
   The moment you and Shouto parted ways, the male immediately went to Denki for some follow up consultation. Sure, he can fight villains face-to-face without batting an eye. Could freeze half of his enemies without a drop of sweat. Unleash an inferno of fire to defeat his oponent. Tolerate a bunch of fans shoving cameras up his face to get a close-up picture.
   But Todoroki Shouto, for the love of god, couldn’t ask you out without freezing in place and become a stuttering mess.
   “Lighten up man!” Denki nudged his shoulder. “Unleash the tiger inside you.”
   “But I don’t have a tiger inside me. That would be anatomically incorrect.”
   “Look—that’s not the—. . .what I mean is—uhh. . .nevermind. . .” the blond struggled with his words. He had to be careful with what advice he throw at Shouto. That man takes things way too literately. “What I mean is, toughen up. Have confidence on yourself. You’ll have (____) falling for you before you knew it.”
   Which will be easy since (____) is a simp for him, Denki thought.
   Shouto raised his fist then clenched it, determination washing over him. He gave one brief nod to his mentor (that is the personification of Pikachu).
   He can do it. Todoroki Shouto could do it.
   He’d go over his lines a thousand times before the date. He’d make sure he is 110% prepared before the weekend. Denki had made a dent in his schedule just to tutor him how to make you fall in love with him. Shouto wouldn’t let this go to waste.
   Yes, this man is prepared and is on a mission he couldn't possibly fail.
   Scratch that, Shouto’s a mess.
   He pulled the end of his sleeves, his legs bouncing up and down. The male bit the inside of his cheeks, was the weather hot or was it just his insides burning up. Shouto couldn’t sleep the night before, his mind kept him up. It was like 17 browser tabs are open, with three of them frozen, and he doesn’t know where the music is coming from.
   Due to the jitters getting the best of him, Shouto arrived at the agreed destination. . .two hours earlier than what was expected.
   Which wasn’t a problem anyway, since you did the same.
   You huffed, doubling over and placing your hands on your knees. You had ran from your house all the way to the cafe just to make sure you weren't late this time. In attempts to catch your breath, you’ve failed to notice your date standing just a few feet away from you. The minute Shouto laid his eyes on you, fire sparked deep within his heart. Someone pinch him and tell this wasn’t a dream.
   “(____),” he walked close to which startled you.
   “Sho! You-. . . you’re early!”
   “So are you. . .”
   Then silence fell between both of you. Talk about awkward. Who’s idea was it to get these two idiots in a date? If anything, both of you should’ve just left it on mutual pining and save it as a story for the grandchildren.
   Shouto cleared his throat, hands scratching the back of his neck. “Well, since we’re both early. Why won’t we enter the café?”
   You nodded, your voice box failing you. Inwardly, you were screaming your heart out. The embarrassment was just too much for you to handle. You doubt that Shouto would want a second date at this point.
   And so you lagged behind him, keeping a feet distance away from the male. You have a hard time looking at him without making a mess for yourself. Blood rushing your cheeks, it was hard to ignore the butterflies fluttering inside your stomach.
   The café was quite small. A handful of potted plants hung outside, the store’s name written in calligraphy, and a few customers visible from the window. The establishment was newly built, Ochako introduced it to you about a week ago. The cheesecake they sell is to die for—it was definitely worth the hefty price.
   A small chime went off as Shouto opened the door. Then it hit you; the strong smell of coffee. You were not a big fan of the beverage, but you’ve got to admit that the scent was pleasant. Without prior warning, Shouto lightly held your hand in his. His thumb gliding over the back of your hand a few times. You took in a sharp inhale, eyes widening at his gesture.
   This is what they do in dates right? Shouto recalled his notes.
   So this is like a DATE date?? Not a friendly date? Somebody pinch me right now, you thought.
   “We should find a table,” he spoke, eyes refusing to make contact with yours. You’ve managed to stutter out an agreement, too occupied with the feeling of his hands. It was so warm—just the way you imagined it throughout the years.
   You could finally die now in peace. Goodbye cruel world.
   Soon enough, you and he are situated on a table near the window. Neither of you dare start a conversation, because god forbid another awkward interaction. Years worth of watching romance series could have never prepared you for such an instance. You wished you should’ve consulted some of your classmates—especially those who have experience in the topic of dating—before coming here yourself. You could try and message them, but you wondered if it would be rude to pull out your phone and ignore Shouto. No, you wouldn’t take the chance.
   “Uh- So how are you, (____)?” he asked, pulling you out of your thoughts.
   “Oh, uhhh—. . .” how does one even speak again? “I’m doing well, I guess. . .?”
   That was lame, (____). Lame.
   “How about you?”
   Shouto was silent, you figured he didn’t hear you so you repeated yourself once again. All the while not looking at his direction. It would be better if you don’t see his face or you’ll turn into a puddle of mess.
   But seconds seem to drag to minutes, and that got you concerned.
   “Sho—“ you cut yourself short, realizing that he was staring at you with a lovestruck expression. He looks at you rather softly, like how one would look at a small pet one happens to cross by while walking. The way Shouto kept his gaze at you made you insecure. Was there something on your face? Hair? Shirt? Oh gods, did you smell?
   You wished that, right then and there, the earth would swallow you whole.
   “Sorry I was just. . .” he faltered in his sentence, gulping down his saliva. Shouto then turned his head to the side, a blush ever so present on his cheeks as well as the tips of his ears.
   "Sorry, you're just—just so cute in that outfit that I can’t help but stare."
   His voice was quiet, barely a whisper but you heard it, ironically, loud and clear. Your hand found its way on your mouth, blood rushing to your cheeks as a result of his compliment.
   “Tha-thank you. . .” you’ve managed to croak out, looking down and fiddling with your nails.
   Just. WOW. You can’t believe it. Never once did Shouto commented on your appearance throughout the duration of your friendship with him. What he did was just. . .just so unexpected from him. You find it hard to believe yourself.
   All these years, you’ve hidden your feelings for him. Trapped it inside a chest and swallowed the key yourself. Him falling for you is comparable to that of pigs flying; it was impossible to happen. Yet both of you sat there, like two dorks, a blushing mess while refusing to make eye contact with one another. For once, maybe this time, you could tell him how you feel.
   “I like you. . .” you voiced out your thoughts. It took you a minute to realize what you've done. You let out a small gasp and directed your attention to Shouto. He was also looking at you, baffled. He went silent, his jaw went slack, and eyes wide open, trying to find the words to reply.
   Oh boi, did you made a mistake?
   “(__—“
   “BECAUSE YOU’RE MY FRIEND!” Your jaw tightened, declaring it all too loudly just in case he rejects you. “I like you because you’ve been a good friend to me.”
   You hope you were doing this right.
   Unbeknownst to you, Shouto felt his heart break into two after hearing your added comment. His shoulders slumped down, sadness clouded his features.
   “I. . .I see. . .” he muttered. “I like you too,” he said after a pregnant pause.
   Your whole face lit up. Now it was your turn to look at him with a baffled expression. There was a twinkle in your eye, is this it? The moment of your life?
   “Because you’re my precious friend.” Shouto plastered a smile on his face.
   Oh. Welp, Mina and Denki tried.
   RIP to both of you, forever pushing the other in the friend zone.

Byakuya Togami x Ultimate Hacker Reader!
Hey! I’m back from a mental break and I’m rip, roarin’ and ready to write again! Though I might take awhile to post now due to me wanting to me time for art, I’ll still give this account the love and attention it needs to give people joy! Anyway, enjoy this little fluffy read of our favorite corporate entity <3
Tumblr media Tumblr media
“For the love of god PLEASE work with me….” you sat at the front of your large three monitor build, with each of them set up to reveal lines upon multi-colored lines of jumbling code. Your knowledge of Python and Java were on the brink of becoming something less than fluent from every sip of the sickeningly sweet energy drink that sweat on your spare mousepad.
It was no exaggeration how jittery you were right now. I mean, you just chugged three caffeinated-stuffed drinks, your mind was ecstatic with what was going to happen after the code had rendered, and also it was 2 am. Though this was bound to happen, with you being the number one hacker in the country, sleepless nights were a given.
But, this little project was mainly for yourself, since you were finished with all the rest of your clients.
Basically, you were trying to hack into Japan’s DIET building treasury databases to see if you could hack the Japanese stock market to temporarily crash, then shoot up into the sky, then somehow sell all of your investments within an x amount of time that this code would provide for you.
So, yeah, that’s another reason why you’re a little on edge…
The rendering was about fifty percent completed, and to say you were having a heart attack was an understatement. You could get arrested for life, maybe assassinated in the night, kidnapped, used as a hostage, maybe even be written about in the newspapers. You spun out of your chair and started anxiously speed-walking from one end of the room to another.
“Holy shit, why did I even go through with this. I’m so stupid it’s not even funny. Oh! The precious PubSec members, take me now!” you sang, crazily talking to yourself as some sort of comforting mechanism. You glanced over to your monitor to see that the loading was buffering a bit, so the rendering had only jumped to 60%.
“You know, I really should have thought of a plan B on this one-” A knock sounded from your bedroom door, echoing and reverberating in the hollow portions of your brain.
“Y/N. What in the world are you doing?” a voice rang from the outside of your room.
“Oh shit…” a realization struck like a bullet in the head. You scurried over to the door, leaning into it while your hand was on the door knob.
“Ahahaha, I-I was just about to go to bed, Byakuya! I was just talking to myself because, you know, I’m an introverted hermit who loves stupid letters and numbers! So, uh, night!” You belched out the words so unconvincingly that it made your stomach cringe in disgust. Whelp, you were definitely screwed.
“Y/N. Let me in…” Byakuya sternly replied. He obviously was not having it, as always when it came to your...personal hacking shenanigans. The last time Byakuya walked in on one of your hacking extravaganzas was when you hacked into the Pentagon. It ended in success, but your husband presented you with a hell of a lot of lectures on the punishment of the law, and how your hacking fun could affect the Togami family.
Like that was going to stop you from making fat bucks.
“Ok….but promise not to freak out too much and take it out on me?” You pleaded through the door, not wanting Byakuya’s harsh words to affect you at this hour of the night, and the situation that you're in.
“It’s all on you whether you get scolded or not.” Byakuya said, frustration present in his voice. You shifted your weight more onto the doorknob, and turned to see that your rendering had reached 70%. Why were you so loud when you talked to yourself?
“I won’t let you in unless you promise me...please…” You mumbled, a bit of your guilt dripping in your words. You heard a heavy sigh on the other side, then a stand-still of silence following after.
“I...promise. Can I come in now?” Byakuya’s voice softened up, making your tense frame unwind from the now more comfortable atmosphere.
You creaked open the door just a bit, peaking out to see your husband with messy, freshly-washed hair, and comfy clothes that he would only dare put on when he planned to go straight to bed.
“You have to pinky-swear on it.” You stuck your arm out of the crack of the door, sticking your pinky finger out as a treaty of promise to Byakuya. The blonde just chuckled tiredly, lazily latching his pinky with yours, and shaking it a little as confirmation.
“It’s a deal, now what did you do this time?” Byakuya strutted into your room, now having access to your coding domain. He automatically directed his attention to your multitude of computer screens, all of them running at full power to run the code you had just implemented into the DIET building security firewalls. You walked over to him, slightly nervous from what you had to break down to him, because you KNEW he would understand all of it, and would most likely be in flames about this little project you had going on.
“Alright, so I basically got bored and I didn’t really have any clients, so I did something...questionable.” You started off, swaying back and forth with your nerves tickling your stomach.
“Define ‘questionable’” Byakuya asserted, crossing his arms and shifting his weight onto one side.
“I might have created an AI program that will hack itself into the firewall of Japan’s national DIET treasury building to temporarily crash the stock market for a small increment of time, then make it shoot back up the charts so I can sell all of the cheap as hell stock I would buy when it crashed and-”
“I’ve...heard enough” Byakya raised his voice, but not in an aggressive way, but more of a shocked sort of fashion. The heir started to massage his temples with his middle and index finger, staying quiet the whole time while doing so.
You shuffled closer to the man, bowing your head down in shame. You knew you shouldn’t have done something so impulsive to simply just keep your fingers warm and your brain entertained. You should have read that book that Byakuya recommended, or maybe baked a little cake and decorated it with fun colors, or finished that movie series that you were meaning to complete-
 Your rushing and regretful thoughts snapped and turned into dust when you felt warm arms around your frame. It was delicate, yet it pulled you in, as if protecting your from the outside world and the horrors it beheld.
“A promise from the Togami family will never be broken, and I also just happen to despise yelling at you, so...I just want to remind you of something.” Byakuya’s low, grumbly, and tired voice had kicked into gear, making his droopiness contagious to yourself.
“I never planned on marrying someone who I couldn’t protect with my life.” Byakuya let out a weary sigh, “But, when you do things like this, there is only so much I can do. You know the consequences, and I’m just…” Byakuya paused, leaving your heart feeling even heavier than it was before.
“I’m worried about what could happen to you, Y/N. I nark on you because I care. What a husband I would be if I simply let you be arrested, or beheaded, or whatever it may be.” The hold on you only grew stronger, yet it was as if you felt wrapped in a shield against any opposition.
“I worry, I scold, and I try my damned hardest to protect you all because I care. I don’t want anybody to take you away from me, alright? Remember that.” Byakuya’s hand tucked a strand of hair behind your ear, and gently kissed your forehead, conveying the words into an action that anyone could understand.
“I’m sorry, Byakuya. What I did was impulsive and stupid and-”
“Did you make sure to code your coverups?” Byakuya suddenly spoke, a serious look in his eyes.
“Well, yeah. It would be kinda stupid if I didn’t-”
“Then it’s settled, you crash the economy, and I’ll monitor. Just don’t do something like this ever again, or you're going to have to sit through something that’s way worse than a lecture on the law, am I clear?” Byakuya let go of your body, and walked over to your workspace to apparently ‘Monitor’ the situation you were about to dive yourself into.
“I can’t really say for sure that I can keep that promise for that long…” You plopped yourself in your comfortable office chair, spinning yourself in the direction of your now only slightly drowsy husband.
You heard Byakuya grumble from your answer, then, after a minute of clear internal debate, he stuck out his arm to you, and delicately lifted his pinky to your direction.
“...”
“Hurry it up, you know what I want, pinky-swear on it.” Byakuya never looked at you when saying those words, but your heart was still stolen from the message either way. This man really knew what he was doing to make your heart throb out of your chest.
“Well, I can’t say no to that...:” You smiled gummily to your husband, cutely locking pinkies together, as if they were meant to be there forever to seal a bond that remains forever unsevered.

Chapter 23 Masterlist
Tumblr media
JJ pulls me aside by Kie's car and lets me silently cry into his shoulder while he kisses the top of my head and tells me everything is going to be okay in sweet whispers. I let him hold me because I feel like I can finally breathe for the first time in weeks.
"I should have went with him," I mumble for the millionth time in his shoulder.
"Trust me, if nothing else kills him first, you would." I pull away and give him a confused look. He quickly explains with a small grin. "I think the reason you two lasted so long together was because the three of us were there to buffer most of your fights."
"It's not my fault he's stupid." I smirk.
"See?" JJ says like he just made his point.
I roll my eyes and look over at Pope and Kie when I finally hear them talking like friends again.
"I'm sorry for acting like a dumbass," Pope stammers. "I was just upset and I was acting petty..."
"Yeah," Kie agrees with him.
"And I just..."
"It's okay."
"...just wanna be friends again."
Another round of thunder rumbles above us and I know it's going to rain any second. But that's not what has my attention. It's the way Kie moves closer to Pope and how her hand gently caresses his cheek. Then their lips meet and they're embraced together as one.
My mouth physically drops to the floor and I cover it with my hand. I can't believe what I'm seeing. Only hours before, the two of them couldn't be further away from this moment. Pope hated her and Kie was adamant about being nothing but friends. I guess Kie did have a thing for Pope. She tried convincing herself otherwise and it didn't work.
JJ laughs next to me and squeezes me tighter to his side. He shakes his head but smiles proudly at his best friend for finally making his move.
Unfortunately, the moment is ruined by another wave of police sirens closer than I wish they were.
"Hey, guys, I'm sorry to ruin the party, but, uh, we gotta go right now," JJ says. Kie and Pope pull away from each other, both of them wearing delirious grins. "Come on!"
As we move towards the car, a round of about four different cop cars surround us with their red and blue lights and loud sirens. JJ backs up, making sure I'm right behind him by clutching my wrist behind his back.
"Pope..." Kie says worriedly.
"Move! Hands up! Hands up!" Officer Shoupe approaches us first with a mean scowl on his face. He looks at each one of us, no doubt looking for John B.
"Pope, hands," Kie says through clenched teeth when Pope hesitates to comply.
Shoupe's eyes land on mine and he holds my stare for a second longer than everyone else's. I make sure to keep my face stoic and unreadable even though I want to proudly smirk in his face and even say 'ha ha.'
"We're too late. He's gone. God damn it!" He says to his team. He speaks into his radio strapped on his shoulder. "Bratcher, have your guys stand down. Let me talk to these kids." Shoupe approaches us again and looks directly at me. "All right, where the hell is he? Where the hell is he?" When I don't say anything or even as much breathe in his direction, he looks at JJ. "JJ? I see you're living up to your name." Then he looks at Pope. "Pope, how about you? This isn't a fucking game! You can do the right thing now! Where'd he go?" Shoupe glances one last time at me before looking behind my shoulder. He pulls his radio up to his lips. "Suspect has just left Station 26 in a small boat."
The man on the radio responds. "Need marine patrol to respond."
Another crack of thunder strikes a new wave of nerves through my body. John B's barely out of here and I don't know if the storm is going to hold off long enough to give him a steady getaway.
Next thing I know we're being tossed in two separate vehicles. I keep my teeth clenched and my eyes forward. I pretend to look strong and committed when all I feel is nervous and scared.
The police bring us into a large tent set up to protect them from the rain. I'm literally in shock by how many people are here, working together to find my brother. Many men and women walk past us with rain jackets with the letters FBI on their backs in gold bold letters. I'm literally speechless by how important these people think my brother is.
Every word that comes from these people's mouths sound like a code I'm trying to decipher as they speak to one another.
"They're still trying to verify..."
"Mobilized..."
"Follow Plumb to that tent..."
"Wait for your friends..."
"...SBI on the scene..."
"They killed a person."
"This way." Someone physically tugs on my arm and pulls me to sit on a row of plastic chairs with my friends.
"...That's all you can say?"
Shoupe stands in front of me, temporarily distracting me from trying my best to eavesdrop on the other agents. "Sit down. Don't move. We got a lot to talk about." He looks at the agent who pulled me by my wrist. "Keep an eye on these kids."
I look up at the agent placed on babysitting duty. Younger, fit, brunette, stubble. He looks at each one of us like he's studying us, placing a mental bet on which one is going to break first. His gaze lands on me and he holds it longer than he did the others. They probably recognize my face as easily as they would recognize my brother's.
There's a lot going on inside and out this tent. Agents speak so fast with one another you might think they're speaking a different language. Every time thunder rumbles above us, I don't know if it's my heart or my stomach swirling with nausea. Rain is pouring down outside, each drop pelting against the concrete and drowning out the demands and orders of every superior agent.
The lights are bright against the dark wall that is outside. If I keep my eyes open for too long I think my head is going to explode.
I feel fingers interlocking with my right hand. JJ's looking at me like he's waiting for me to break like a fragile vase teetering off the countertop. I nod my head in a silent way of saying thank you and that I'm still confident our plan is going to work.
"Hey, we're back up. We got power," I hear someone announce.
My head snaps forward. I look outside the flaps of the tent opening. I can barely see the lighthouse, but the light circling around it is bright enough to light up the entire island.
"Shit," I curse to myself.
Ironically, power is all I wanted this summer. Mentally and, because of Hurricane Agatha, physically. But now, I dread it.
"That's them! There they are!"
Dozens of agents run outside with their binoculars, flashlights, and guns, and tasers. Immediately I stand up to follow, but just as quickly, I'm pushed back into my seat by our babysitter agent who isn't even cool enough to get an FBI windbreaker.
Kie's looking at me with as much fear as I'm feeling. My leg bounces anxiously and the hand I'm not using to squeeze JJ's is wrapped around the bottom of my seat tight enough to turn my knuckles white.
I try peering out through the plastic 'windows' of the tent which are just clear plastic tarps cut out in squares in the tent. Boats with red, white, and blue lights chase after another boat in the water - a boat that would be impossible to see if the lighthouse was still out of power.
"Subject is changing heading. They're heading south."
I look at our baby sitter's radio that's gripped tightly in his hand.
"Subject is attempting to escape to the south."
I look at JJ with wide eyes. "He's going straight into the storm."
I don't know if it's a second, a minute, or an hour later, but my name is being called. Another agent, this one more superior than the others, stands in front of me. He's tall, bald, has light brown skin, and bright hazel eyes. He's not smiling but he looks pleased with himself nonetheless and I don't know why because John B isn't captured yet.
"I think your brother would like to speak with you," He says.
My jaw tightens and I narrow my eyes in his direction. I don't believe him. John B wouldn't ask for me unless he knew this was the end. And it isn't. It can't be.
But if it is and I don't talk to my brother one last time, I will hate myself forever.
So I follow him despite the calls of disagreement coming from my friends. He and a couple agents behind him pull me into another tent where more important agents are running around like chickens with their heads cut off.
People move out of my way like I'm Paris Hilton and they're the paparazzi. They look at me like I'm a celebrity and they're speechless with surprise and judgement.
But I don't care about the FBI, Kildare's cops, the rain or the storm. I care about the man sitting on the other end of the fold up table with a pair of headphones around his head and a fake look of concern on his face.
Ward looks up. When he sees me, he looks like he's seen a ghost.
"Ms. Routledge," The agent says to grab my attention.
I'm placed in a seat in front of Ward on the other side of the table. I don't take my eyes off of him for even a second. It's the first time I'm seeing him since our day on his boat. I hate that he's sitting here like he's a fucking victim and not the man who should be behind bars. I hate that he's being treated like an ally while my brother is being chased like a criminal.
But I love that he's looking at me like I can change all of that.
I take the headset from a woman agent next to me and place them on top of my head. I'm instantly met with rustling and whistling of the wind. A couple of disgruntled grunts swim through my ears and I know I'm listening to John B rolling through the storm on the Phantom.
"Don't listen to him. He's a liar!" John B yells into his radio. His voice comes out through the FBI's speaker so everyone can hear. Ward's lips press into a thin line and his hands tighten around the circular end of the headphones by his ear.
They must have tried to get Ward to talk John B down first. Maybe it's because Ward is technically still our legal guardian or maybe...
Maybe Sarah ended up finding him after all.
Ward finally rips his eyes away from me and looks down. "John B, I am begging you. Think of her and turn around." I'm met with nothing but heavy breathing from the other end. I hold my own breath and make sure not to move even an inch so I don't miss a single word that my brother has to say. My heart feels like it's being twisted, shredded, and torn apart by a wild bear. John B is in danger. Not by the cops but by mother nature herself. Out in the ocean where he can disappear forever. Just like my father did. And the thought itself is absolute torture. "John B, what are you doing?"
There's another long pause with seconds lasting as long as hours. My hear skips a beat when my brother finally speaks up again. "Ward Cameron, do you hear me?"
Ward looks at me again and slowly brings nods. "Yes. Yes, son, I'm right here. I'm right here. Please bring her back, okay? We'll work it all out when you get home."
I jump up from the table so fast, my hips bump against the table and shake the radio display on it. "You son of a bitch!" I yell at him, not caring about the hands pushing me by my shoulders to sit back down. Or the barks of other agents telling me to calm down. I want to rip Ward's head off his stupid shoulders and punt it into the deepest part of the ocean. Or a log shredder.
"You killed my father!" John B shouts through the speaker. It's the only thing that actually gets me to calm down and I glare straight into Ward's eyes. I don't pay attention to how the agents react to John B's accusation, because even with the truth out there, I don't trust them to move on it. At the end of the day Ward Cameron is Ward Cameron and my brother is just John Booker Routledge. "And you framed me for a murder I didn't commit. You took everything from me! You took everything from me! But I'm still here. And I swear to God, Ward, I will come back one day and take what's mine. So, you listen to me, all right? I'm coming for you." A small smirk tugs at the corner of my lips and a sense of pride runs through my fingertips from John B finally standing up for himself. "I'm coming for you."
For once, Ward Cameron looks shitless. Like he did when he realized his mistake on our fishing trip.
"You." The agent next to me points at the radio set and looks at me. "Talk to him! Talk to him!"
I look back at Ward Cameron and place the headset on my head. A crack of thunder shakes around me and I physically flinch away from it. "John B?"
Another pause. Silence that is deafening. "Marleigh? You okay?"
I can't help but laugh. "Come on, brother. You should know by now cops don't scare me."
I can actually hear John B laugh on the other end and it's the only thing that makes me feel better. "Yeah, I know."
"Are you sure about this, Johnny?"
I swallow the lump in my throat as I wait for his reply. "I'd rather die than go to jail for something I didn't do, Mar."
I feel the wall I put up when I was placed in front of Ward Cameron crumble within seconds. Tears cloud my vision at the realization that nothing I can do will stop John B from driving straight into that storm. And I hate that I understand him for it. Because I would do the same thing.
I look up at Ward as tears trail down my cheeks silently. I can tell he's calculating my next move, waiting for me to stop my brother.
"I'll take care of this, okay?"
"I know. You've always taken care of me." His voice cracks and another ripple of thunder rips through the sky. "I love you, Rocket."
A sob wracks through me and I push myself away from the microphone so he doesn't hear me feeling weak. When I gather my composure I push myself closer to the radio. "I love you, Bird."
The head agent slams his palm against the table in frustration. "No!"
I close my eyes and let the tears drown my vision. I feel like I've been placed in an ice bath. Frozen to the core, wanting to kick and scream my way out of it, feeling numb but also like I'm being ripped apart by something sharp.
Another agent walks out. "I wanna have Search and Rescue standing by."
"Any response?" A woman asks another agent.
That other agent shakes his head. "They're not calling it off yet."
Everyone's running around, talking into their ear pieces and looking at one another for any kind of clue on what to do next. I refuse to look at them because I know what's going to come next.
John B use to tell me that being a pessimist would be my downfall. He was always an optimist - hoping and aiming for the best. Believing Dad was alive kept him going where telling myself he wasn't helped me move on. Growing up, we would butt heads a lot. But as a team, we worked well together because he pushed me to go further in life and I helped him stay grounded when it was necessary.
But today, being a pessimist is my strength. Because I'm prepared when Officer Shoupe approaches me with a sullen and sorrowful expression. I don't even have to ask what's wrong because I know it's the last thing I want to hear.
"Marleigh," He says. I think it's the first time he's ever talked to me like I'm a person with feelings and not some teenager causing chaos on his island.
I'm nauseous. My heart is thudding against my chest so heavily I think it might crack a couple ribs. The blood running through my veins feels like it's been lit on fire and I'm on the verge of exploding. The dread and the devastation runs through me in half a second and then is suddenly replaced by a blinding white flare of rage.
"You!" I turn on my heels and try running up to Ward Cameron to wrap my hands around his throat, to pull a gun from the nearest agent and shoot him in the head with it, to tear his eyes out with my finger nails. But I'm easily stopped by the millions of agents that surround both of us. They physically pull me away, barely even flinching as I try clawing through them to get my hands on the entitled Kook in front of me. "This is all your fault! You son of a bitch! I'm going to kill you! No - get off of me!"
I kick and scream until my throat is raw and my legs feel weak. Ward is pulled away from me so he can grieve the death of his own daughter. I only stop thrashing around when my body goes limp. My legs are rubber and my head is heavy. I fall to the floor and fold into my knees and cry the hardest I have ever cried before. I cry for the loss of my brother. For Sheriff Peterkin. For the justice my dad will never get. For the gold he's worked so hard to get live on without his name ever being mentioned with it.
I don't know how long I stay on the floor until someone helps me up. They place a windbreaker over my shoulders and walk with me to the tent where my friends are waiting for me.
My heart is a bloodless organ, my head a hollow skull. I can't feel anything from the thinnest part of my fingertips to the deepest emotion in my brain.
I follow Officer Shoupe and two other agents back to my friends like a zombie. I can't even look at my friends because I'm afraid they'll feel the same heated pain that I'm experiencing and I don't want  that.
Shoupe looks at them the same way he looked at me.
"Did you find them?" JJ immediately stands up. He tries meeting my eyes but I keep them focused on the dirt ground below me.
"No," Shoupe says.
"So, they got away?" I hate the hope laced in JJ's voice.
Another crackle of thunder makes me flinch.
Shoupe sighs. "We, uh...we lost them." He looks up. "I'm sorry."
A deafening silence falls around us and I finally look up. JJ's brows are pinched together in confusion and anger, Kie's about to burst into tears, and Pope looks frozen in shock.
"What do you mean you lost them?" Pope asks. "Like they're gone?"
"What are you talking about?" JJ demands.
Again Shoupe sighs. "They took an open boat into a tropical depression, Pope."
"So they're dead?" Pope asks.
"We don't know."
JJ snaps. He takes a threatening step towards the set of officers and points an accusatory finger at them. "You drove them through the storm, man! Are you kidding me? Come here!" It takes two agents to pull JJ away from Officer Shoupe. "I'm gonna kill you."
I don't even react to the outburst because I can't. I can't feel anything other than my own teeth clattering together and my lip quivering with the threat of a new round of tears.
"JJ, stop!" Kie tries to calm him down through her own sobs. But even I know, she's wasting her breath.
"I'm gonna kill you, you bastard!"
"Hey!" An agent scolds him.
"You killed him! He didn't kill anyone and you know it!" Pope yells along with JJ. He doesn't try to attack like the blonde, but he makes sure to get as close to Shoupe as possible.
Shoupe sighs. "We're still looking for him, all right?"
"Pope. Pope, just stop!" Kie pleads. She grabs onto Pope's arm and pulls him closer into her body. "Please, stop."
When JJ proves he's calm, he pulls me into him and holds me tight against his chest. I wrap my arms around his waist and let myself fall apart for a second time. I cry into his shoulder, not caring about the snot or tears that will probably ruin his second best button down shirt. I grip onto him so tight that I wouldn't be surprised if my fingernails ripped holes into the fabric. He's the only reason I'm still standing on my two feet. I can't feel my legs.
"Pope...Pope!"
Mr. and Mrs. Heyward run into the tent followed by Kie's parents. All four of them run to their kids and pull them into their own family group hugs.
I watch even though the sight destroys me. Kie with her two parents. Pope with his. I observe the way they hold their children, kiss the top of their head, and tell them everything is going to be alright. Pope keeps mumbling about how sorry he is and Kie is weeping into her mothers neck.
They have that and I don't. Not anymore. It's all been ripped away from me like a toddler and chocolate they're not allowed to have.
But it makes me even more grateful for JJ. Even though I hate that he's in the same boat as me, I know I can always rely on him to be by my side. We have each other and even though it doesn't always seem like enough, it is.
There's nothing that I wouldn't do for this man. He's my light at the end of a dark and dreary tunnel. My guide in life to live it to the fullest without any regrets. My life partner that's going to make me the happiest girl on the island one day. I couldn't ask for anything more from the love of my life.
Mr. Heyward looks up from his family moment and holds out his arm for JJ and I to join. JJ and I take advantage of it and let Pope's parents hold us like a parent should, despite any hateful feelings they have towards us for leading Pope down this road with us.
My brother's gone and I don't know how to comprehend that yet. I don't know where life's going to lead me and the future went from being adrenaline inducing to absolutely terrifying. With Kie, Pope, and JJ by my side, I'm hopeful that I can get through pretty much anything.
JJ's my rock and my leader. I will love him until the universe physically pulls him away from me. With him, I'll take on life one day at a time. Each one will be a struggle, but I made a promise to John B that I refuse not to keep until the day I die.
I will take care of this. I will make sure Ward Cameron gets what's coming to him. And I will not let him take anything else away from me. Not even over my dead body.

aren’t we a nice pear
you can blame @duelistkingdom for this, not me
Yugi was quickly learning that certain fruits may have been tough to come by during the 18th dynasty - if not non-existent.
His first clue was when he brought a coconut back to the apartment, intending to make his famous coconut curry and sticky rice.
Atem had peeked into his grocery bags, adorably curious (Sugoroku had always done the grocery shopping, and rarely did he ever obtain fresh fruits), and had gasped dramatically, startling Yugi so badly he nearly jumped out of his own skin.
"What? What's wrong? I swear to god, if I broke the eggs -"
But when Yugi swivelled to survey the damage, he found instead Atem holding a coconut aloft, reverently.
His shoulders fell.
"A coconut," Atem hissed. "When father would return from his diplomatic travels he would near always bring coconuts. The juice was divine."
Yugi rolled his eyes good-naturedly and returned to putting away their groceries. "You almost gave me a heart attack over a coconut. What, were they not very popular in your time?"
Atem was silent for long enough that Yugi knew: if he looked back at him right now, he'd be met with an unfairly incredulous stare.
So Yugi turned to him, face resolutely deadpan, finding his prediction entirely correct.
"Yugi, my partner, light of my life -"
Yugi's eyebrows climbed into his hairline.
"- coconuts were an import," Atem said, like it was especially important, clutching the coconut to his chest as if it were a wounded animal. "Only the fabulously wealthy -" he pantomimed tossing hair over his shoulder, "could possibly afford such a luxury good."
Yugi snorted, finding the eggs (thankfully, in good shape) and placing them delicately in their designated spot in the fridge.
"Well you were fabulously wealthy, O dearest Pharaoh, so why are you clinging to it like a starving man?"
"Because coconuts are - what is it Jou always says? It is the most ridiculous - oh yes - lit."
Yugi froze, eyes squeezed shut. "Atem. My world. Dearest heart. Never say that again."
But then his brain buffered. Wait a damn minute -
Eyes comically wide, Yugi said, "Wait. Atem. What kind of fruit did you have?"
Atem pursed his lips, tossing the coconut from hand to hand, resting his elbows on the quartz island between them. "Grapes. I rather liked those. Oh - figs, though I found them too sweet. Nabk -"
“Atem,” Yugi pressed, suddenly desperate, “what’s a strawberry?”
Atem blinked, confused as to how and why the tone of their conversation shifted. “I... suppose I'm not quite sure? When you say the word, an image crops up, but I have not the faintest -”
Yugi was already grabbing his keys. “I'm going back to the store.”
“What on Earth -”
“I’ve been craving cherries anyway. Oh my god, and pomegran - no, wait, you guys had those, right? Pretty sure that was an 8th dynasty thing. Peaches! Pineapple? Holy - I need to learn how to slice a pineapple -”
“Yugi, my love, what is happening right now?”
“Oh, I’m so stupid,” Yugi scoffed, taking Atem by the hand, who squawked indignantly at his self-insult. He dragged Atem hurriedly to the front door, fumbling to slip on his shoes with only one hand. “You can just come with me.”
“Call yourself stupid one more time. I have hands now, Yugi. I can smack you.”
“Why, what better for me to kiss, my dear?” Yugi said, throwing his pharaoh a sly smirk, raising Atem’s knuckles to his lips. Atem’s face flushed a pretty red, and he stared pointedly down at his own backless loafers, grumpily slipping them on.
“Cheeky,” he mumbled, sounding secretly pleased.
“Yugi. Where... what is this place?”
Yugi sent him a bright grin, squeezing Atem's hand where he held it in his jacket pocket. “This, O mighty Pharaoh, is the grocery store.”
Atem gawked at the various signage as Yugi dragged him to the cart well, snatching up a handbasket and promptly making a beeline for the produce section.
“Wait, wait, was that - was that a massive cart to wheel your groceries about in?” Atem asked, incredulous. “How affluent must you be to fill one of those?”
Yugi snorted. “I can't believe I never once brought you to a grocery store. Goes to show how often those lunches from 7/11 saved my life in high school.”
“Oh,” Atem said, staring at the wall of colorful greeting cards as they passed. “Well, this is delightful. It's much like the market, just. Indoors. And with fluorescent lighting.”
“Yeah, you get it,” Yugi encouraged, leaning over to kiss Atem’s temple firmly. “C'mon, this way.”
The produce section was lush today, what with it being a random Thursday afternoon, and Atem was already spotting things he had never seen before but knew the names of (thanks to the brain of a certain now-adult who he had often possessed when he was nothing but a no-name disembodied spirit).
“There! The - what was the word? - strawberries,” he chirped. “What kind of name is that, by the way?”
Yugi squeezed his hand twice, their mutual sign for it’s okay, grab it, holding the basket within Atem’s reach. “Says the guy with nabk. Throw ‘em in there, hot stuff.”
“The -” Atem blanched, holding up a packet of strawberries, confused. “All of them?”
Yugi raised his eyebrows. “Yes? What, you want me to open it and pluck out a single strawberry?”
“Well - wouldn’t - isn’t the whole thing expensive? They seem like they would be expensive.”
“Oh, no,” Yugi slid the basket to the crook of his elbow, swiping up a packet himself and giving the label a read. “Strawberries are one of Japan's biggest exports. Oooh, and I love amaou variety. Perfect for your first try.”
He gently took the packet from a stunned Atem’s hand and dropped both into the basket. Atem sputtered.
“That is - you can just, buy fruit en masse? Affordably?”
Yugi laughed quietly, spotting the pineapples and leading Atem toward them. “Maybe not as cheaply as in other places - we kind of have a thing for designer fruit here. But these packs are only ¥500 each.”
“Only how mu - oh my land, those are horrifying.”
“Yeah, if you’re not used to them, they’re pretty freaky,” Yugi acquiesced, reaching for a piece of the spiky fruit - only for Atem to slap his hand away.
Yugi whipped around to stare at him, bewildered. The look on Atem’s face wouldn’t be out of place beside the dictionary definition of appalled.
“My Yugi will most certainly not be touching the pointy death fruit!” he hissed, gesturing violently toward the pineapples, like his reaction was obvious. “I used to inhabit that body, you know.”
Yugi pressed his lips into a firm line, trying desperately not to burst into laughter.
“Atem. Pharaoh of my heart. My angel,” he whispered, taking a deep breath. “I love you so much. Just - watch this.”
And Yugi - while giving Atem a pointed, amused look - reached again for a pineapple, easily picking one from its perch by its uninviting body.
Atem, perplexed, brows raised in astonishment, stammered. “But - it - you -”
Yugi offered it to him. “It's not a cactus. Its bark is worse than its bite.”
Atem hesitated, but Yugi patiently held the pineapple toward him, nodding encouragingly when Atem met his eyes doubtfully.
And so Atem took it in his elegant, princely hands, brows furrowed in confusion when it did not, in fact, slice him to ribbons.
“But... it looks so evil.”
“Right? But it’s only poke-y. Honestly I just wanna meet the guy who saw one for the first time and immediately thought, “hey, I’m gonna crack this shit open and give it a taste”.”
Yugi created a monster.
They had picked out a few more things for Atem to try, including the promised cherries and peaches (Atem giving a smug “now that is more like it” when he saw the peaches priced at two for ¥1990), but also some things that yugi had realized he took completely for granted: blueberries, kiwis - bananas. God, bananas.
Atem had also discovered that coconut water was sold by itself, in convenient single portions, and had happily trotted off to the self-checkout counter with a case of six, an endeared Yugi in tow.
It had been a week since that fateful day.
Atem sat on their cute little cream loveseat, newly-acquired and much-needed reading glasses on his nose and feet propped up on the matching ottoman, his current read in his lap. He held one of Yugi's many reusable water bottles in his hand, half-full with coconut water, blueberries, strawberries and ice floating prettily at the top. His bottle-holding arm was curled protectively around a bowl precariously perched on the arm rest, where he kept his (perfectly sliced) pineapple rings.
"Living in the lap of luxury, I see," Yugi said, plopping down beside Atem and draping himself directly atop the open book. He gazed up at his boyfriend, mischievous. "Lavish attention upon me as you do your precious books and fruits, O great Pharaoh."
Atem rolled his eyes, plucking a ring of pineapple from the bowl and tearing it in half. Yugi opened his mouth expectantly.
"Who said this was for you?" Atem snorted, popping one half in his mouth. "This is the last of it and you are a brat."
Yugi, as per usual, pouted to get his way. Atem, as per usual, was unable to resist said pout, huffing and presenting Yugi with the other half.
"A brat maybe, but loved by you nonetheless," he cheeked as he chewed.
"Exhibit A. Eat with your mouth closed; you are in the presence of royalty," atem said. "And sit properly, for goodness sake - you'll choke, and I refuse to have that on my conscience."
And sit properly Yugi did - mostly. He slung himself over Atem's shoulders, muttering into his neck, "You know, that's the third pineapple you've -"
"Ananas."
Yugi scoffed. Ever since Atem had Googled the Arabic name for the fruit (an adventure in it's own right), he refused to use anything else.
"Yes, ananas, yet somehow I’m the brat here," Yugi continued, "point being: it's the third one you've decimated this week. We just ran out of bananas, and I think that was the last pack of strawberries, too. I'm gonna go broke."
"This is fine. We can subsist off of fruit alone."
Yugi leaned back and stared into Atem's face, who had gone back to reading his book, unfazed. "You can subsist off of fruit alone. I need meat. Protein."
Atem pulled off his glasses and slapped the book shut, giving Yugi the most skeptical look he’d ever seen. "Yugi. You are a waif."
"Hey! No body-shaming here!" Yugi protested, pulling his legs up and into Atem's lap, again smothering the book. "All the more reason for me to have meat in my diet! I won't survive."
"You know, I used that miraculous thing - Google - and it told me that meat is actually quite bad for you. Did you know that humans only evolved to eat it because -"
Yugi groaned, stuffing his face back into the crook of Atem's neck, his next words muffled. "Google made my boyfriend health-conscious and now I can't have bacon. I'm sending corporate a strongly-worded email."
Atem's quiet laughter was like warm sunshine, and Yugi basked in it, the tell tale thunk of his water bottle being set on the side table music to his ears, as Atem could only be freeing his hand for one reason. He began to stroke Yugi's hair, and if Yugi could purr, the sound of it would reverberate through the entire apartment building.
They fell into a comfortable silence, only broken by the soft sounds of their chewing as they polish off the pineapple rings, Atem more than happy to continue feeding Yugi pieces.
"I may joke around," Yugi finally whispered, like they were the only two who existed in the universe, "but you're the best thing that's ever happened to me. I'd sell my kidney to buy you whatever you wanted."
Yugi felt a puff of a laugh against the crown of his head; the press of Atem's lips. "No need to go to such extremities, precious one. You are all I would ever wish for."

I am never doing this again.  Don’t even ask me.  This was such a bad idea.  It doesn’t help that I chose the hardest Champion Stadium week ever devised to try this bullshit either.  Shauntal’s Dauntless/Sunny Day/Overheat bullshit, Marshall’s evasion and Endure effect bullshit, Hau being the only worthwhile electric type damage dealer, even Iris having a backup with Heat Wave that just tears through Korrina like it’s nothing.  That sucked ass.  It all sucked ass.
But it’s done.  7500 Master Mode with nothing but commons, as defined by (1) general 3*-4* pool units, (2) main story free units, and (3) the general BP ticket units.  Ruled out legendary units, free units that are time sensitive like Bugsy/Scyther and Misty/Psyduck, and perhaps most damning of all, Sawyer.  This was...so much harder than it needed to be, and I’ll recount all of my suffering here.  But for now, just know: it’s possible.  You can do this shit without a single 5* summoning pool unit.  Everything in story mode and commons is sufficient, if you are both a fucking lunatic and really, really good at resource management.  Wouldn’t recommend.
Grimsley went first.  I didn’t remember him having special attacks, so this seemed huge for Erika/Vileplume.  And it kinda was, but he was a real dick about it.  I don’t think he ever got fully paralyzed, and we needed to hit the right sync crit for Erika to take him down.  She did deal like 11k at one point, as a 4* unit, so like...that’s cool.  She’s also got a grid, which means double On a Roll for Energy Ball, which was also really nice.  I wish I could say that Surge contributed more than just crit rate and paralysis so Erika didn’t waste turns on it, but...he didn’t.  Honestly this was probably the least frustrating match overall, but barely.
Caitlin was way, way harder.  Hau’s damage was good, but admittedly really lacking at 4*.  He really needed support that...didn’t exist.  MU/Torchic was my only other common crit buffer, since Maylene was established for later, and...yeah, it definitely helped, but I wouldn’t call it an easy clear at all.  Hau had to get his sync timing exactly right to get the second in before Caitlin, and had to crit on a 50% chance for it to work.  Then he had to not die.  Which involved Morty getting a lucky flinch chance on one of the sides, and then hopefully setting up to KO one of the sides as the queued up a move, keeping them in lockdown until you won.  It was not pleasant, especially because Morty does not have Vigilance, and is 4*, and does not have a grid set up for Potion MPR.  Disasters all around, friends.
Then comes the grand champion herself, Shauntal.  Seriously, this was...the single hardest thing I’ve ever done, but by god is it done.  See, Shauntal is impossible to beat with commons exclusively, because there are only two common Ground-type damage dealers: Clay, and Hapu.  Hapu does not have a grid, and Clay’s only good attack is AoE.  Good luck, idiot.  So we had to stall.  But turns out, Janine wouldn’t work, because oops, Dauntless.  She can’t have her special attack lowered!  So that doesn’t work at all!  And trying to buff special defense is stupid, because she’ll set Sun after her first sync and dunk all over your ass.  So we had to bring Winona for Rain, and...oh Christ, was that a good call.  Granted, Rain doesn’t weaken Fire moves in this game for...some reason, but Winona brought something of greater value to this.  Confuse.  See, if she’s really lucky, she can hit Hurricane (70%), confuse the opponent (30%), and then later that opponent will hurt themselves in confusion and allow us to win (unspecified rate but low).  This took dozens of attempts, and around, like, an hour and a half to accomplish.  But we did it.
And then came Marshall who honestly wasn’t too bad.  The biggest need was for Lucy to not miss.  As long as she got the Toxic on him, and she could apply Wrap as needed, the fight wasn’t too bad.  And it turns out her trainer move buffs defenses and grants gradual healing, which is just...absolutely amazing for this kind of unit.  Wrap’s accuracy is shaky, but Lucy’s damn good.  I’m also a bit more of a fan of Janine after this.  Venom Drench is just really useful for Stall, I can’t believe the kind of hits we took.  Skyla didn’t get Potion MPR at all (TWO 30% CHANCES AND YOU FUCKED IT UP), but somehow we still won.  Kinda impressed.
Which leads to the last: Iris.  Now, I knew I could handle Iris.  Korrina’s good.  I’ve seen Korrina be good.  But the real question was, is my Korrina good?  No.  I had to use two more candy to get her to 3/5, then spend all but my last 1k sync orbs to get her some tools, those being MGR on Close Combat and the sync buffs.  However, as it turns out, this was just enough for her to still punch everyone to death.  Barely, I might add.  If she missed a single crit roll, at all, at any point, we were dead.  Iris would sync, or Houndoom would Heat Wave.  Iris had to go down right before sync, and Houndoom had to go down before Heat Wave happened.  After that, Tyranitar was much, much easier to deal with, thanks to Drake’s defense buffs and Terrify skill.  I won’t say this was easy.  But with more grid work and actually being 5*, or god forbid EX, this would’ve been much simpler.
Overall...man, units really need grids.  Like it’s astonishing.  Support units can be useful without, just because if they can support the right kind of offensive unit, the offensive unit can wreck shop on their own.  I guess the opposite is true too; a good supportive unit can facilitate dumb sweeps as well.  I’ve seen people clear 1500 point matches with like...Agatha before.  Maybe that’s not a great example because mega evolution, but you know what I mean.  The bottom line here is that grid matters.  Grid matters tremendously, because no team won without someone having a grid in place.  The stall teams came close, because Erika didn’t have much, but I can promise you any Sp Def +5 spots she had taken participated in keeping her alive.  EX can factor in, like with Rosa’s support for Erika, but it seems ultimately less critical than a grid.
I really do hope DeNA adds common grids.  I don’t think they need to be exceptional, and in fact I think it would be to their detriment if they were.  But as a means of keeping F2P players afloat with new, harder content being introduced, I don’t think it would be out of line to offer Cheryl a chance to refresh her heal, or Maylene to have a chance to refresh her trainer move to cap crit rate independently.  Smaller buffs are still buffs, and I think some of these units legitimately just need a small push to go from like almost worth it to actually being solid investments in the common pool.  I know gacha pushes ever forward and rarely looks back, but I hope that in the push for content that appeals to those pulling the newest units, they spare a bit of time for the older ones too.  I mean, we have only eight 5* units without EX forms, and quite a few story mode units without grids.  They have to go back and fix that at least, right?  ...right?

Kyoya x reader
Secret crush
Tumblr media
Summery: kyoya just knew he liked you from the way you walked to the way you care for others. You were a family friend of kyoya so he had known you since birth, he had secretly liked you for awhile but family buisnness got in the way. You guys havent talked in a while but when you joined the host club his heart stopped.
Trigger warnings: Drinking, arguing, fluff, slapping
A/N: I hope you like this, I've been having writers block lately but this idea inspired me!! Anyway enjoy!
Koya's eyes widened, his heart racing like horses on a race track. Out of everyone in the school, Tamaki had to choose you to be the new host, a girl he had known since birth, a female he had liked for forever but too stubborn to tell you. You meant everything to him but he let his work get in the way. He had pushed you away to focus on the family business as he tried to impress his father.
After the host introduced themselves you smiled, you couldn't help but stare at the black-haired glasses-wearing guy, he looked more mature than he did when you guys were little. His chest was buffer, his facial expression more serious. It was kinda...hot.
"Hi, my name is l/n y/n, second-year student!" You exclaimed introducing yourself to the hosts, you were honestly excited to get started. You were the first female to be in the club that will be working with guys (besides Haruhi at times). One thing you didnt except was that your childhood best friend/crush would be the manager of this type of club. I mean come on the Kyoya ootori a host? Kinda hard to believe, he wasn't the 'host' type.
"Well well well, got ourselves a cute little kitten~" the ginger-haired makes spoke in sync, your face became a light shade of pink "you're gonna be fun~," the one named Hikaru said resting his arm around your shoulders. Kyoya got pissed, he didn't want anyone to touch you but he didn't want anyone to know so he just watched from behind the black book he always writes in. "Wow Tamaki was right you two do look just alike!" You smiled, you can't believe the resemblance they had, identical twins!
It was a few hours before the club opens and you were just starting it up with the club. They told you how they wanted something more for the club, they wanted it to surpass high school, you found it quite amazing how hard they work just to please girls. "Oh that reminds me, you didn't get to meet kyoya when we introduced ourselves!" Tamaki exclaimed "no need me and y/n have known each other for years" kyoya interrupted, "she's a family friend" his voice monotone, never looking up from his book. The club mentally facepalmed, they knew there was a reason why you didn't talk to him. "Yup, but we kinds fell off in middle school..so we haven't really talked since then" your heart pulled at you're chest, it hurt you've loved him for so long yet he just pushes you away.
"I didnt seem you to be the host type kyoya" you exclaimed turning around to look at him, he smirked from behind the big black book "nor did I, tamki talked me into it" turning toward tamaki he was doing his little kingly pose "yes all my idea!" God he was full of it. "We must not delay the ladies and gentlemen-" he looked towards you "are going to be here soon! We must get the club ready" everyone nodded got to their designed spot but kyoya didnt move just sat there so you decided to sit with him at the back of the room. "So..how have you been" you shyly said, you noticed how he didnt even look up from his book not once. "If your attempting to small talk me its not gonna work, Y/N I'm a very busy man and I dont have time for silly small talk" this made your heart hurt, you knew he wouldnt really wanna see you but figured it's been so long since you've last seen each other, Guess you were wrong.
"O-okay" you put on a fake smile and walked to your designated spot fighting back tears. In the back of your head thinking maybe, just maybe he would be different. Hours have gone by and it was honestly a good first day, flirting with guys and them flirting back, even got a few numbers. Your population was growing quickly, I mean it should everyone knew at this point that your family was close to the ootori family so they wanted to get on your good side. School had ended at this point and you were waiting by the front gate for your ride, but thanks to the buisnness of your father and his driver he couldnt make it. You had gotten the text on your phone a few minutes ago that he couldnt make it, you only sighed not surprised but disappointed.
Sitting on the front gate fountain you sighed, how were you gonna get home? It was too far to walk and you didn't really know anyone well enough to get a ride with someone except..no, no you couldn't, he didn't wanna even talk to you let alone give you a ride home.
"Your father not coming?" A voice appeared out of nowhere. Looking up from the phone you see the devil himself, Kyoya. "Ah, no he's busy" a fake smiled crept on your face, he was the last person you wanted to see at the moment.
"Well seeing as we live close to each other it would only make sense you ride with me" his dace black his stare harsh, you didn't want to but yet you did. Only wanting to know why he pushed you away so much. "A-alright" you agreed, walking with him to his limo. "We're taking miss L/N home first" kyoya exclaimed to the drive, he only nodded and drive off. It was silent half of the way there till you got the guts to speak "Kyoya..why did you push me away" oh God why did you ask that your anxiety oh the frights now. He looked up at you and was silent for a quick second "Y/N you should know the answer. We are both very important people and we can't let a friendship get in the way of things" he huffed out "but we've known each other all this time why now" he was starting to piss you off, you just wanted your friend back, you wanted to see if y'all could be more. "Because my father's business is much more important than our petty friendship" tears were on the verge of your eyes, clenching your fist on your dress "why do you care so much" looking down and tears falling down your face "because I love you.." He eyes widened and his heart racing, did you really mean it? All this time he thought you were just playing him. "y/N I-" suddenly he was cut off by the sudden stop of the limo. "Don't bother kyoya like you said, your work is way more important than me" you got out of the limo leaving him speechless.
The last thing you remember about that night was running to your room and crying your eyes out, you even snuck into your dads room and stole some alcohol and chugged it, throwing it up instantly as your body wasn't use to it. Even though you kept puking you just kept drinking till eventually you were drunk off your ass making you fall asleep.
The next day the worst hangover hit you, school was the last thing on your mind but had no choice, after spending to much time in the bed past your alarm you got up and got ready for school. Arriving at school you went straight to the host club knowing everyone would be in there, rubbing your temple as you opened the door. "Wow Y/N you look like shit" one of the twins said you only grunted at their statement and sat down on the couch next to haruhi "jesus Y/N you smell like alcohol" the female dressed as a male (still valid) covered their nose. "Sorry didnt have time to shower, but damn I have a hangover like no tomorrow" rubbing your temple Mori handed you a water with a simple 'here'then walked away. The hosts was crowded around you wanting to know why you drank so much last night. "Listen guys I dont wanna talk about it." Kyoya was getting mad, a simple argument made you drink so much last nigh? He slammed his book closed causing everyone to be quiet, he stood up quickly and walked to you grabbing you by the hand causing you to stand "are you stupid? Drinking at your age, ruining your system" he stared you straight in the eyes "why do you care, why not just go write in your little book if yours." You harshly said making his jump back a little "if you weren't such a DICK maybe you would have more friends, maybe someone would love you MAYBE-" you were cut off by a pair if warm soft lips, it was kyoya, his hands on both side of your face. You never kissed back only stared at him in shock. Soon he let go of your alcohol tasting lips, "I do love you" you heart skipped a beat, beating as fast as it could go, tears formed at the edge of your eyes.
Slap
Your hand met his soft pale face as hot tears streamed down your face. "I love you more" you smiled then hugged him, guess this is a perfect life.

MO ASTOR- CHAPTER 36
We don’t own the bikes, brothers, or any “related” Sons of Anarchy, trust us, if we did we wouldn’t have the time to write. No money is being made from our stories. So, please don’t sue. It’d be a fruitless endeavor indeed. That being said, Harley, Journee, and any other newbies are ours, and we don’t share. :Whispers in creepy voice: “My precious.” The universe This reality is a mix of cannon, and our own ideas. We strive to keep the boys cannon, but since we will be shifting around some of the events, that will reflect in our writing and their personalities as well. It’s our goal to provide you with quality fiction, and solid, fleshed out OFC. We appreciate constructive criticism and love LOVE reviews, they are a writers life blood and definitely help encourage us and inspire us.                                                       A/N: Oh My God We’re Back Again. It’s been a long time, but we never lost our love for Mo Astor. We’ve been plotting, and writing, and editing behind the scenes. We’re back to posting once a week. Thank you to all the readers who’ve left comments, favorited, and waited patiently. Grab a drink, sit back, and get ready to become lost in the world we’ve created.
                                         Mo Astor Chapter 36
Jax
It’s been a long time since it was just me and my baby sister. I’m looking forward to the one-on-one, though I’d never admit it out loud. She’s been my rock through some hard times.
I imagine she’d say the same for me. When life around you is constantly shifting, you look to each other to remain stable. That’s something most don’t understand.  That bond you have with someone who holds you down through all the bullshit is lifelong. It doesn’t break when you do jail time, have a difference of opinions, or get busy with life. So yeah, I guess civilians right, we ain’t like them.
“Morning,” I call as I walk into the house and disarm and reset the alarm.
“You’re making me regret giving you a key.” I follow her voice into the kitchen.
“You love it when I visit,” I retort.
“Did you tell the incubator I’m coming with you?” She asks cutting straight to the point.
I snicker. “Believe it or not, she prefers you.”
Journee scowls.
“Proves how fucking stupid she is,” she mutters.
“Jesus, Baby J. hold a grudge much?”
“Pot meet kettle. Mr. Let’s measure our dicks with Kick.” She finishes rinsing off her dishes, and piles them into the dishwasher.
“That was setting boundaries.”
“Riiight. Whatever you need to help you sleep at night. At least I own my crazy ass tendencies.” She pouts.
“’Cause that’s better?” I lean against the counter beside her.
“Oh, yeah bro. Always best to know yourself.” She winks
“You’re full of shit.”
“Guess that’s why my eyes are brown, huh? Wait that can’t be true. Cause your eyes are sky blue, J.”
“You’re supposed to be coming along for moral support,” I reminder her wryly.
“I am.” She pats my cheek as we head out of her house towards my bike. “I’m breaking you down to build you up stronger.”
“That’s some fucked up Gemma logic.” I mutter.
“She did raise us to be like her.”
“You say that with a straight face and it becomes a scary story.” She laughs.
“I know.”
“Such a little shit.” I’m smiling as I say it. Like a true little sister, no one can get away with more bullshit than her, and she knows it. It reminds me of the year she and Tommy were as thick as thieves. He was a lot like her in many ways—more soft spoken and thoughtful. As an only kid she had a crazy patience for him, reading him books, and letting him trail along beside her.
Part of me wondered if they’d have ended up together if things were different and she’d be a Teller for another reason. Especially with how things ended up for me and Lee.
I push the thought out of my mind. What if’s did nothing but drive you crazy.
“So, what exactly did I agree to go to anyway?” she asks.
“Don’t you think you should’ve asked that beforehand?” I tease.
She shakes her head. “You know I’m your ride or die.”
“I do. Basic check-up, and then lunch. I get the feeling she’s got some new man.”
She whistles. “Damn that fast?”
“Hey. If it keeps her from dicking with me and Lee, and doesn’t affect my boy, let her be happy.”
“All kidding aside.” She shuts the door to the dishwasher and turns to me. “ I’m proud of you, big brother. You’ve come a long way.”
My neck grows hot. “We both know Lee had a lot to do with that.”
“Your, opening your eyes and seeing what was in front of you did that. You and Lee were always just a matter of when not if.” She starts the wash cycle.
“So sure.” I roll my eyes.
“I could see it. Over the years you got so close, but something always kept you from clicking.” “Deep down I knew in order to keep her I’d have to get my shit together, and I wasn’t ready to do that. So I stayed back ‘cause fucking things up between us wasn’t an option, you know?”
“Things came out the way they were meant to.”
“You really think that?” I glance into her soft brown eyes, and she gives me that Madonna smile that makes me feel like everything is going to be alright. I can always be real with my sister because I know she’s going to give me the truth. Wither I want it or not.
“I do.” She reaches over and places her hand on mine. “You both had some work to do before you could commit to forever.”
“You think I have it in me?  Forever and kids and all that?” I ask cautiously. So far, I’m screwing up the baby thing with my first born. It’s scary thinking of another person depending on me, let alone a child. It changes everything, and our life is unpredictable.
“You are your father’s son. Is there even a doubt?”
“Naw.” I lie, trying to fake it till I make it like I always do.
“Didn’t think so. You’re paying for lunch right? ‘Cause I’m starving.”
I laugh.
“You about to try to put a hurting on my wallet?” I hand her my spare helmet before climbing on my bike.
“Better than putting a hurting on your ex.” She says with a shrug, clipping the helmet on.
I chuckle, pulling my helmet on.
“You have a valid point. Damn you are our mothers’ child.”
She blows a raspberry, before mounting my bike.  Little sis knows since she’s doing me a favor, she has the upper hand—and she’s going to milk that shit for all it’s worth. It’s the Teller way.
~~~~~~~ I’m pleasantly surprised and slightly bewildered by the manicured lawn and uncluttered space by the garage. The large black garbage cans are lined up neatly by the curb on the street.
Pulling into the driveway, I remove my helmet and pause to take in the freakish cleanliness it’s lacked in prior visits.  This is above and beyond the duties we assigned the prospect keeping tabs on Wendy’s house.
“Well. This is different,” Journee whispers.
“Yeah.” I frown and turn to look over my shoulder.
“Maybe Ma sent over multiple prospects to tidy up.”
“Nu-uh.” Journee shakes her head.
“She said this was your mess to handle.” I purse my lips. “Which means it’s up to me to help you out with the pile of shit you’ve landed in.” Journee sighs.
“I feel the love.”
Journee shrugs. “I’m only speaking the truth big bro. You choose poorly for your first baby Mama. I told you how I felt about her long before you decided to give her your crow.”
I scowl. “No need to rub it in.”
“I’m just reminding you to listen to me. Sometimes I know things.” She flicks my ear and climbs off the back of my bike gracefully.
“Let’s get this torture session over, please.”
“You think it’s bad for you? I got eighteen years of this bare minimum.”
Storing our helmets in my saddlebags, I wrap an arm around her shoulders. “Come on, be my buffer.”
“I should let you go up in flames,” She mutters.
“That’s not sisterly,” I say with a grin.
“Jaxass.” She mutters.
We climb the steps, and the door swings open to reveal Wendy before we can even knock.  My jaw drops at her appearance. I glance over to find Journee equally shocked.
She looks like a fucking Stepford wife in a pale-yellow sundress complete with a flared skirt and heels. Last time she dressed like this a waffle iron came flying at my head.
“Jackson.  Cat got your tongue?” Wendy smirks.
Journee growls. “Aaaah, the little cocoa sidekick.”
“You know it only takes nine months to bake a baby, and you’ve got what...” Journee taps a finger against her cheek. “Less than three months left?”
“Nice to know you can count,” Wendy sneers.
  This is a new woman in front of me. I’m glad that she’s gotten the idea of us getting back together to be a family out of her head, but this one-eighty makes me uneasy.
I scan her body, and notice the thick strips of white medical tape over her entire right forearm.
They stand out against her nineteen-fifties get up.
“The fuck.” I grab her arm. “What are you hiding?”
“Your mark. Which meant nothing.” She spits, tugging her arm away.
“Let me see.”
“Fuck you, Jackson.”
Journee moves forward, blocking the doorframe with her body to keep me from dragging the smart-mouthed bitch out.
“I swear to God. If you’re using again.”  My breath quickens, and my visions tints red as rage builds up inside me like an inferno about to blaze out of control.
“You can take it off on your own. Or I can make you,” Journee says softly.
“One of these days, someone is going to put you in your fucking place. You don’t even belong here,” Wendy growls.
Journee climbs up another step, getting in her face.
“I know exactly who I am, where I belong, and where I’m wanted. You could never say the same, could you? Poor little lost girl, with loose legs begging to belong.”
Wendy blinks and turns away. Her hands tremble as she unwraps the tape and thrusts her arm toward me. “Look your fill. You dick.”
I peer down at the unmarred skin, and my knees nearly go weak with relief.  “It better stay this way.”
“I have someone to take care of me now, Jackson. I don’t need your bullshit concerns.”
“The minute you give birth to my baby you can do whatever the hell you want. Until that time, your business is mine.”
“It’s my baby too.” Her tone makes me stand up straight.
“What was that Wendy?” My voice drops an octave. “Is the junkie with no job trying to tell me she thinks she’s the better parent?”
“Inside.” Journee whispers.
Of course, We always have to keep up appearances here in town.” My mother’s voice plays in my head.
The fresh scent of cleanser and scented candles greets me. The house has never looked this good.
Who turned her into June Cleaver? I search the place for clues. The laundry basket resting on the couch has t-shirts that are far too big for Wendy, and the black boxers are a dead giveaway.
I don’t feel anything for her. I haven’t for far longer than I care to admit.  But I do worry about the company she’s keeping with my boy still in her belly.
He’s not a junkie. Shit’s too put together for that.
“Going somewhere?” Journee asks, nodding toward the kitchen.
I spot the half-packed boxes and bare spaces on the counter.
“I don’t want to stay in this house of lies.” Her dark eyes burn into mine.
“And where do you plan on going?” I ask. She looks away.
“Do you really want us to have to find you?” Journee asks.
Wendy crosses her arms under her breasts, pulling the material tight around her waist.I take in the bulge that’s grown over the past month.
“I’m just preparing.”
“You’re not supposed to be lifting heavy things right now.”
“I have help,” She snaps.
“You aren’t the only person who’d ever want me.” Her hands ball into fists. “If you can move on, so can I.”
“No one is saying you can’t, you crazy bitch. Calm the fuck down before you distress my godson. There’s no reason for everyone to get all worked up. We get it. Wendy bagged herself a new man. Good for you. We’re here to get our report on the baby, and we’ll be gone. The quicker you update us, the sooner we’ll be out of your hair.” Journee holds her hands out like she’s wrangling two high school kids about to fight.
Huffing, she stalks over to the large chair and sits down crossing her ankles, like some kind of proper lady. I’m in the fucking twilight zone. I lean forward with my arms on my knees, drinking up her reports. My boy is growing properly and healthy. It’s more than I could’ve hoped for, considering how fast and hardcore we were living when she got knocked up.
We were both empty shells looking to fill up spaces neither of us could ever fit into.
It’d been fun for a while, but it had never been built to last. She wasn’t even a consolation prize post-Tara tear down— Wendy was a pretty thing to warm my bed and play by the club rules without question. Now I’m paying for my poor choices.
“You satisfied?” Wendy asks. Journee looks at me, and I nod.
“For now.” Journee nods her head, and we both rise.
“Same time next month, Case.” Journee drawls. Such a little shit. Makes a brother proud.
She scowls as we leave.
“What. the fuck, Jax?” Journee whispers.
I shake my head. “Not sure, but if he keeps her shit together for the next 2 and half months, I don’t much care.”
~~~~~~
Sitting down at the table in Hannah’s, I wait for J to finish most of her meal before bringing up the main reason I wanted to go out to lunch after.
“All right Baby J, so…I gotta admit there's another reason I brought you along today.” I begin, wiping my hands off with my napkin. She rolls her eyes playfully at me. “Of course there is. So, which of my skill sets will you need for this favor? I've got a few spots saved in the woods for disposal and Hap gave me an amazing cleaner kit for my birthday.” She says with an excited grin and a bloodlust in her eyes. She is so her father’s daughter. I can't help but chuckle, shaking my head in Disbelief.  By looking at her you'd never guess what she was capable of.  But with her dad the Sergeant at Arms of Grim Bastards, and her mentor Happy Lowman…there’s a side to her that I never want to get on the bad side of. “Well I do need your skills, just not those ones.” I say, taking a sip of my water. She raises a curious eyebrow at me before smirking.
“Sorry bro, my other skills are only allowed to be enjoyed by my husband and my wifey. As kinky as my old man is, I don't think we're ready to swing just yet.”
She teases with a wink and I damn near spit my sip out. “Jesus J, not that either! Shit little sister, I’ve only just begun playing in Lee's pussy myself. No other dick is going to be poking around in her till it’s been claimed to completion.” Her eyebrows shoot up.“Already planning on making her your second baby mama?” "Second and final. But not just yet. I just got her to say I love you to me. If I plant the seed too soon, I'm worried she'd rip out the roots.”
She rolls her eyes. “Naw Bro, Lee'd never terminate.”
“Oh I know, I wasn't talking about the baby. I was more concerned with her going Loreena Bobbitt on me.”  I say honestly, shifting in my seat at the imaginary pain. She bursts out laughing, nodding her head in agreement. “Yea, that uh, that might be more likely.” She says between adorable little snorts.
I nod my head in agreement. “Exactly and seeing is how I ain't planning on changing my singing voice anytime soon, I'm real careful how I'm navigating this one.” Feels like the story of my life right now. It’s been a unique experience having the girl be hesitant with me.With Tara and Wendy, we went full steam ahead, and the crows afterwards all but jumped on my dick the minute I looked at them.
Lee is different. And being with her like this has shown me just how special she is.
She’s worth the time and the energy to make this work for both of us.
J offers me a soft, approving smile. “That's good to hear.” I nod. It’s a relief knowing how much baby sister supports us. None of this would’ve happened without her, and I know she’s got my back to help me navigate these new relationship waters. “Besides she's got that IED thing in her arm.” I add.
She bursts out laughing again and this time I'm a little confused.
“It's an IUD dumbass. Lee doesn't have a fucking bomb implanted in her arm.” She teases and I can't help but chuckle.
There's a joy in her eyes I haven't seen since before the whole Kyle debacle. I'm not the least bit surprised her old man helped put it there. I've known about his crush on her for years, but I knew better than to say shit. I figure if Chibs was taking his time there had to be a reason. Brother was one of the most strategic mother fuckers I knew. I was fifteen when he patched in, and after losing my old man, I saw him like the big brother I never had. There was no one I listened to and trusted more than Filip Telford.
I loved Ope and, there would always be a lifelong bond between us, but when he met Donna, we both felt something sever between us. He became a family man almost overnight, and I wasn’t done sewing my wild oats. Plus, the way the whole thing went down with him hurting J, it never sat right with me. Those two had been headed in a direction that would’ve been something real special. But then Mary got involved, dragged him away and he came back with Donna.
I can still feel my anger at the look of heartbreak he’d put on Journee’s face.
He’s been out a few months now and I rarely see him. The separation has been painful, but he’s trying to go the way of the straight and narrow for his family. Donna’s laid out the rules damn clearly. If he gets into trouble again, she’s out. Should’ve had brown babies Ope. This was the real danger of marrying and procreating with a Civi. They never fully understood our world, and few respected the price that sometimes must be paid to be apart of it. I don’t resent Ope for finding love, but I do resent his love for taking him away from his family.
“All right, Well then I'm lost Jay boy. If it ain’t cleaning and it ain’t playtime…what could you need from me?” She asks, taking a sip from her drink. My stomach flutters excitedly. I reach into the pocket of my cut. Producing the crinkled, early stages of a sketch I’ve been working on, I slide it over to her.
“Need the artiste in you little sister.” She glances at me and then opens the paper. My excitement turns to nerves as I watch her eyes studying the picture presented to her. "What am I looking at here J?" She asks and I scowl slightly. "I mean I know I'm not a great artist like you, but you can tell it's a crow.”
She chuckles. “I mean I know that, but I’m wondering why I'm looking at crow?”
"Right so, I need your help J. I want to design a new crow for Lee. After the shit with Kick, I need her inked. I want everyone to know she's claimed.” Her eyebrows shoot up again. “Wait what? A new crow, but your dad designed the first one. Why do you want to do new?” “I know dad designed the first one, but he designed it for my mom. And then ya know other old ladies got it and it just sort of became trademark.” I pause. “But there's nothing trademark about my old lady. I want her to have one just for her, cause she's damn special to me and she deserves something that represents not just me but us. Like you and Chibs did. Seeing the crow designed specifically for the two of you made me realize, I don't want her wearing the same generic shit that both Tara and Wendy got. Lee is never gonna be an ex, I know she's my forever and I want this crow to be more than just the generic SAMCRO trademark.”
I explain my thought process to her watching the smile tugging at the edge of her lips.
“So, that's what I need your help with. No one loves Lee as much as me and no one knows her better. I've got an idea and I can explain what I want, but I need your help executing my vision and making it something that represents us both and that she'd be proud to wear.”
I wait for her reaction. She studies the sketch and runs her fingers over the lines. “Where are you thinking she wears her brand?” I can’t help but remember before we were together, standing in my dorm room at Journee's engagement party.  Journee running her slender fingers over Lee's chest saying how sexy a chest piece would look. I lick my lips and shift in my seat before clearing my throat. “Depends what we come up with. I know I’m definitely going to want her to get a chest piece so anyone who looks knows exactly who she belongs to, but I also know she's gotta be careful with size given her business dealings in the upper crust. So maybe just property off Jax across her chest so she can cover it up if need be. But this crow, HER crow...I don't want to worry about size. Maybe her shoulder or tricep for when she's in tank tops. After we design it and I give it to her, I'll let her decide where.”
Journee nods thoughtfully. “All right so explain to me what you're thinking.” She reaches into her oversized satchel she almost always has with her, and pulls out a small sketch book and pencil. I chuckle at her. She shrugs sheepishly. “Hey I'm an artist, never know when inspiration might strike.” She says flipping the book open to an empty page. “So I like what you have going here with the crow but what if you go with a two headed crow. Sort of like you and her becoming one.”  She explains, masterfully sketching out what I'd already drawn and adding on to it. “Now, tell me what else you're thinking.”
By the time we’re finished, the idea is a fully formed tattoo. The two crows each have a wing.
A bleeding heart in the middle of the crows speaks to our passion and dedication for each other. One crow clutches an A.K. 47 for the club, and the other crow clutches an olive branch to represent the peace she brings me.  With her, I’m completely balanced. Journee’s thrown in a few other hidden easter eggs to symbolize Lee.  My name sits above the entire thing to let everyone know who my old lady belongs to. I love that in a way Journee is woven in there. There would be no me and Lee without her wonderfully “subtle” match making ways. We stand to leave, and I toss 20 extra bucks down on a 24-dollar bill. SamCro always makes sure to tip extra well in town. Keeps our business running and our business owners happy to have us. As we're walking out my phone rings and I can't help but grin when I see Lee's name on the caller ID.
“Hey beautiful, I was just thinking about you.” I say answering the phone. “How'd your meeting go?” I ask as we walk towards my bike. "Hey baby, went good. I think your mom and I were able to nail down the last of the details for the taste of Charming festival coming up.” I can hear the relief in her tone.
“Glad to hear it Darlin. J and I just finished up lunch. Headed back now.” I pause.“I mean, headed home.” I correct, winking at the smirk J gives me. “Glad to hear it darlin.” She mocks on the other end. J and I get to the bike and she grabs her helmet. “How’d your meeting go with Wendy?”
“Went good. I’ll tell you more about when I get there.”
“Okay baby.” I can hear her hesitation for a moment.
“Something wrong?”
“No, not at all. But umm Sack came by this morning with a few boxes of your stuff. And I hope you don't mind that I started unpacking some things. You know I hate boxes.” My heart damn near soars at her words. “Of course I don't mind Lee. You know how I hate unpacking, so unpack away. I can't wait to see it. My shit mixed in with yours. Bet it's gonna look amazing.” I say honestly. After our bathtub wall breaking session we both wanted as much of my stuff into her house as soon as possible.
Mostly cause I didn't want her changing her mind on me. “I think you'll like it. I’m headed back to the house now. You done for the day or you got Club stuff you gotta do?”
“I got some free time babe. I'll head over after I drop J off.”
I mount my bike so J can get on while I finish up my phone call. “Okay sounds good Jax.” She grows quiet for a second before a sweet "I love you Jackson," comes through the earpiece. I can't help the smile hearing her initiate the L word that been circling my head for months.
“I love you too Harley.” I say sincerely, picturing her bashful, smile on the other end.
“I'll see you soon babe.”
“Okay, bye baby.” She says before disconnecting the call. Journee is settled in her seat behind me and I can practically feel her smile. “How'd that feel?” She asks learning forward to wrap her arms around my waist. “Pretty Amazing, I’ll never get tired of hearing that from her.” I answer honestly, pulling my helmet on.  I can always be honest and real around J. “I know the feeling.” She says giving me a squeeze. She leans forward to place an affectionate kiss on my check.“I'm so happy for you Jackson. For both of you.” She says.
I thread my fingers in her course curls and cup the back of her head. After Pressing a firm kiss to her cheek, I rest my head on top of hers for a moment. “Thank you, Journee. For everything.” I sincerely say.
There is no doubt in my mind if it hadn’t been for my baby sister I wouldn’t be in this amazing stage with Lee.
Knowing me I would’ve fucked us up by now. She gives me a squeeze before situating in her seat. “All right, enough with the chick flick moment. Take me home chauffer, time for me to go see my old man.” She says like a little kid getting ready to open presents as soon as she gets home. “Yes ma'am.” I tease starting my bike and heading out. ~~~~~ A/N: In case ya’ll were wondering this was what Tellerford was thinking Lee’s Crow Looks like. It’s based off a Design the show produced and was tweaked to fit our image lol. So we thought you might like a little glimpse into what’s in our head.

Terrible - Eustass Kid x OC
Tumblr media
Terrible [Archive of Our Own, FanFiction.Net]
Progress: 1/1
Characters: Eustass Kid, Original Character
So this a repost of a fic from a couple of years ago that is loosely based off of a headcannon that firefistlaw got from an anon..
“Modern!Headcanon that Eustass kid’s s/o goes to college like for some very impressive field, but Kid didn’t really want to go to college so he a mechanic and just, they live together and Eustass always picks up his s/o from their classes. Intimidating people because he’s just intensely gazing at the door to see if his s/o is on their ways/o"

“Well, I say that went well,” Jay said cheerily, grinning as we headed towards the elevators in the university’s main offices.
 Jay and his half sister, Rei, were biomedical engineers. The two WizKids and his sister, Rei, were biomedical engineers. The two whiz kids had been working with the world renowned, Dr. Vegapunk. They along with the rest of Vegapunk’s lab researched and produced highly advanced cybernetic limbs, that were integrated with the nervous system, and thus reacted to the body’s natural impulses.
 I didn’t fully understand the ins and outs of it, but I knew that the research was expensive as shit, and without funding any potential it had wouldn’t be realized. That’s where I came in. I worked in the University’s development office. I worked specifically with the science department as their development liaison.
 Now I had worked with a lot of scientists and doctors who were wonderful people and great with donors. Vegapunk’s team? Not at all. Vegapunk himself rarely left the lab. He sent me the information I needed to shop out, but aside from that I never heard from the guy. From what I understood, he only ever met with the higher ups and that was only when he was met with the threat of termination. Admittedly, those threats rang hollow. Vegapunk was the university’s crown jewel.
 The others were all exceptionally bright. Without fail they were the smartest people in every room they stepped into… And they knew it… And without trying they let everyone else know it... No one likes a know it all.
 Vegapunk, Rei and Jay were geniuses, but there are some things that they couldn’t even manage to do and fundraise was among those. We’d just had a meeting with a couple of potential donors in one of the university’s board rooms, which thankfully with my serving as a buffer, had gone extremely well.
 I had another meeting with the father and daughter pair coming up in the next couple of weeks, where I would make a proper ask. I had high hopes.
 “That’s because I was there. You two are hopeless. If it takes more than three minutes to explain it, and it isn’t even something that they ask about, then don’t bring it up.”
“Materials are important,” Jay stressed.
 “Yeah. With this new compound that Dr. Vegapunk has created, everything we produce will be lighter and more durable.”
 I just blinked at them. “You mean you spent ten minutes explaining this to them in a way that went so far over their head, I’m pretty sure it went into orbit, and you just explained it to me in two sentences?”
 They looked at each other, finally getting my point. “Oh.”
 “Unbelievable,” I groaned.
 I shook my head, stepping off of the elevator behind them.
 “At least it’s over now, and you don’t have to deal with our genius level stupidity until Monday,” Rei said.
 “Or any donors,” Jay added.
 “Nope,” I agreed. “Just my man and his band of grease monkeys.”
 “Yes, the mysterious mechanic,” Rei said.
 I snorted. “Mysterious. Kid’s one of the most straight forward people that you will ever meet.”
 “But we haven’t met him,” Jay said.
 “Hence why he’s mysterious.”
 I rolled my eyes. “I hate, when you two do that.”
 I was pretty close with the twins. I interacted with them more than anyone else on campus, and we had formed a friendship, a weird friendship, but a friendship none the less.
 “I mean. All we know is that he owns his own repair shop,” Rei continued ignoring me. “Which makes the think of some middle-aged man named with Ron with an overly bushy mustache and a beer gut, and that doesn’t really fit with our amazingly professional and well put together fundraiser.”
 I scoffed. Professional and put together. That did not extend past the university. If only they could see me at the shop, in shredded jeans and faded band shirts, my electric blue hair free of the wig I hid it under at work, desperately looking for clients’ keys, receipts and invoices, while yelling at Kid and Heat to turn down the damn music. Meanwhile Killer practically danced around me, putting everything I was looking for together, before handing it over.
 “I see you with like an investment banker.”
 “Yeah or some really high profile real estate agent, named Chaz or Andrew.”
 I scrunched up my nose. ‘A Chaz?’ “Not even close.” I chuckled. “His name is Kid, and he doesn’t have a beer gut. In fact, he’s got abs you could grate cheese on, and I’m nowhere as put together as you seem to think I am. I’m just a dumb punk kid with a day job.“
 The two of them looked at me for a moment, assessing me. “Can’t see it,” they chorused.
 Jay was a step ahead of us and pushed the door to the outside world open, but stopped short, causing both Rei and I to crash into him.
 “That scary guy’s in the parking lot,” Jay said.
 “What scary guy?” I asked.
 “Seriously?” Rei whined, peering out the door over Jay’s shoulder.
 Jay back at me. “The terrifying dude that hangs out in the staff parking lot,” Jay tried to jog my memory. “Always here at like a quarter to five.”
 “Uh huh…” I said, not having any idea of, who he was talking about.
 “You seriously have never seen him?”
 I shook my head. “Apparently not.”
 “He must leave, before you get out of the office,” Rei deduced.  “Well, you’re gonna see him now. You can’t miss him.”
 “Whatever. Can we go now? Weird dude or not, I want to go home.”
 “Not weird,” Jay corrected.
 “Weird,” Rei agreed.
 “Okay, weird, but mostly scary. He just glares at the door, as if he’s trying to make it explode.”
 Cue the light bulb going off over my head.
 “Yeah. I know you said you were going to wait for your boyfriend or whatever, but why don’t you come back to the lab with us? I don’t really want to leave you here with that weirdo lingering.”
 I snorted at Rei. “I’m sure, I’ll be fine,” I said, wiggling past Jay and out the door.
 Once I was outside, I was finally able to see the guy that they were talking about.
 I could see how he could be intimidating. For one, leaning against the side of a perfectly refurbished 1970 Chevy Chevelle it was obvious that he was closer to seven feet tall than six. The garish fabrics that his clothes were pulled taut over his frame. The patterns almost distracted from the obvious muscle underneath. Almost.
 With a build like that, no one dared to comment on his outlandish clothing, the goggles on his head, the grease splattered over him, the black polish on his nails or the dark lipstick he wore. Despite all this, his eyes were still his most striking feature.
 With one glance, Eustass Kid could put the fear of the God into in to anyone stupid enough to cross him, no matter how big or bad they thought they were.
 Those piercing eyes met mine, which brought a wicked grin to his lips.
 Involuntarily, the muscles in my face pulled, returning that gesture. I adjusted my bag on my shoulder and walked over to him, leaving the twins at the door.
 “Hey,” I greeted, wrapping my arms around his neck.
 “Hey babe,” he greeted.
 He brought his hands to my hips, running them up my sides, before pulling me flush against him and dropping his lips down to meet mine for a kiss that was by no means appropriate, especially considering that I was technically still at work, even if I was not technically on the clock.
 He rested his forehead on mine. “What’s with the audience?” he asked, eyes flickering over to the twins.
 “Probably trying to make sure that you don’t murder me. They think you’re rather frightening. Though after that display, now they probably think that you like to get off in public.”
 His smirk grew. “Considering how into it you were, I’m starting to think that you do. You know we could always-”
 “Not a chance,” I said, trying and failing not to smile at him. “You’re such a sleaze ball.”
 “That I am,” Kid said, hand traveling down to my ass. “But at least I’m honest about it,” he said, giving it a squeeze.
 I tried to level him with a firm glare, but it did nothing. “Kid, I’m still technically at work,” I scolded, stepping back, before he could get any more handsy.
 “I’m not,” he said, unfazed. “They can’t fire me.”
 “No, but they can me.”
 “Then, I guess we better get out of here, before I get you canned.” He pushed himself up off the car.
 I tossed my bag in the open window, heading around to the passenger’s side. I finally looked at the twins, who looked absolutely dumfounded. “I’ll see you guys Monday!” I hollered at them, waving.
 Kid gave them one of his more sinister grins, raising his hand in a mocking wave.
 I leaned over the center console, pushing his door open. “Quit trying to scare them and let’s go home.”
 “Whatever you say, babe,” he said, humoring me. He slipped into the driver’s seat and turned the key in the ignition, the car roaring to life. He revved the engine a few times, before peeling out of the parking lot and speeding towards home.
 “You’re terrible,” I said, laughing.
 “You love it,” he shot back, removing his hand from the gear shift and flipping his hand, so that his palm was facing up.
 I slipped my hand into his. “Yeah. I do.”

BNHA AU Ideas: True Might
Also on AO3!
TL;DR:  Powers don't make the hero - passion does. Luckily for Izuku and Toshinori, this is something the quirkless have in droves.
AKA: All Might is a quirkless vigilante, One for All isn't a quirk that exists and 1A gets a whole 3-week buffer before villain's start kicking their face in as opposed to the 3 days of canon.
Basically: Quirkless!Vigilante!All Might and Quirkless!Successor!(gen ed) UA Student!Midoriya. It’s a riot.
Yagi is stupid strong, his only form in this AU is basically Muscle Form from canon, but he’s a little less ridiculously cut. Not quite chubby, but huggable. This is mostly because he A, isn’t a celebrity that needs to have a marketable image and B, he really likes carbs.
He’s not exactly a vigilante by choice, in his day and age quirkless kids weren’t permitted to apply to UA, either gen ed or heroics. When Nezu got the job, that all changed, but it was a solid decade too late for Yagi.
He’s admittedly a little bitter about it, but he refuses to do anything but his best. He might be a little snippier with Pros than he really needs to be but oh well.
Katsuki and Izuku are utterly enamoured with this crazy vigilante that just doesn’t lose, refuses to back down from a fight even when he’s outmatched, and somehow coming out victorious anyway, rescuing everyone. They have a tense relationship, but often find time to get together and just ramble about how cool All Might is, share theories and dissect his fights. It’s not uncommon for Katsuki to have been hurling abuse at Izuku during class, only to show up at his house after school with a backpack full of snacks and a notebook full of questions.
Izuku knows most of what Katsuki does is to keep his status in the school. If he showed pity to a dumb quirkless runt he’d be painted with the same brush. This doesn’t make what Katsuki has done right! Only Izuku doesn’t blame him because he’s way too forgiving.
Izuku is the smartest person Katsuki knows and vice versa – they are each other’s measuring stick. Katsuki shows Izuku bravery, Izuku shows Katsuki determination.
Episode 1 goes as it does but you see a real flash of regret when Katsuki tells Izuku to jump off a roof because they are kinda-sorta friends. Izuku looks so betrayed. We meet the slime villain like before, All Might saves Izuku and 100% doesn’t expect the kid to fanboy about him and ask for two autographs – one made out to a “Kacchan”.
“Can someone quirkless be a hero?” “The whole world will be against you. Most places won't even give you a shot – no matter how good you are. You’re better off picking something else.”
Izuku is crushed but he does understand. All Might leaves and Izuku trails off kinda hopelessly. He follows the sounds of explosions without meaning to.
It’s Katsuki! He’s dying! Like usual at this point lmao. Izuku rushes in much like canon, All Might shows up, pulls Katsuki free and slams a dumpster on the slime villains head before making a speedy getaway. The police rip into Izuku but Katsuki actually defends him. “You were doing fuck all while I fucking died – don’t knock the only asshole who tried.” Izuku quietly slips him the autograph before running off the scene. Katsuki cries because Izuku got that for him even after he was such a fucking bastard that day? He can’t bring himself to be a dick to Izuku again, even only for show.
All Might finds Izuku and he's like “Sorry I was an ass I was being a dick because I had low self-esteem – I’m quirkless. If you’ll have me I’ll make you into the best hero the world had ever seen
Izuku, obviously, says yes please!
Also, hypermobile Izuku with joint braces as support gear because just let me project please my arms are killing me ( I wrote this a while ago and yes. My arms are still killing me - yes even now). He gets them after All Might sees him miss a dodge because his ankles rolled beneath him. They support his joints beyond the normal range of strength, letting him do some crazy pivots and handsprings, making it easy to support all his weight on a single-arm with very little strain. They can also lock in place, lessening muscle fatigue if he needs to hold onto something for ages and preventing injury if he’s pushing against something. Produced by David and Melissa Shield and imported through Nighteye Heroics.
Is support gear illegal for civilians to own? Yes! But medical equipment isn’t so if you can just convince people its medical not support you can get away with a lot.
Yagi has no weapons himself, other than the random shit he picks up and swings at people, and has little support gear other than a communicator, panic button, and a whole lot of zip-ties.
Izuku should probably have weapons but I’m struggling to think of anything other than war fans because how cool would that look? Because Shonen they would also have the ability to create powerful downdrafts that would give a boost to a jump or dodge.
Probably doesn’t get them until later and needs to train with them.
In this AU, One for All isn’t a quirk. Rather, it’s a role, passed from quirkless person to quirkless person, the only people who can’t be hard countered by All for One. They tend to be vigilantes, crime lords or hero managers, doing their part to foil as much of All for One’s plans as they can, through whatever means necessary.
It’s a role with a pretty high fatality rate.
No one knows All Might is quirkless other than those close to him, they instead think he has a strength quirk. He’s the most prolific vigilante in Japan and is almost as much of a household name as canon All Might. More divisive though, with most people decrying his vigilante status when he could ‘easily make a respectable hero’. He’s also pretty brutal with his takedowns of some villains, leading a lot of people to call him an unregulated brute. Still more call him a villain which, legally he would be - were he using a quirk.
Nighteye is his contact in the heroics industry, gives him loads of inside info that’s typically not something he should be passing on. He’s still close with David Shield. Nighteye imports any costume parts he needs from David and leaves them at various pickup points for Yagi.
He went to college with David in America after Nana died; America having a quirk blind admission process helped - but he’d have gotten shit talked a lot if people didn’t just assume he had a strength quirk. Dude was and is crazy big.
David was one of the only people that knew he was quirkless
OH FOR FUN; Nighteye was also going to this American college and that’s where he met All Might. The three of them became the world’s strangest group of friends and may have lowkey done some slightly illegal vigilante work around the campus and surrounding town. They had a reputation for getting no sleep ever and being the most mismatched set of people
Secretly Smart Jock, Business Man with a Touch of E-boy, Science Hipster. They all tumbled into class together with varying levels of alive-ness. Nighteye and David were very much not morning people.
UA! It’s a ride. Izuku fails the practical but he’s not shocked – he was prepared for this.
He actually got like 30 hero points? But they refused to admit him on hero points alone due to his ‘deficiencies’. They don’t exactly tell Izuku this but Aizawa was there and he was furious.
Gets into 1C with Shinsou, Shinsou fuckin hates him on sight for reasons best known to him (It’s bc he was so god damned cheerful he just – assumed Izuku had a quirk. I love Shinsou but he’s more than a little judgemental). Izuku is like smiling through the pain because he just wanted to make a friend his age – Katsuki barely counts.
He sits with him at lunch and makes friends-ish with the hero kids who dragged Katsuki along, meets Ochaco again. She’s upset he didn’t get in – especially after he tells her he apparently got 30 points. The whole table gets mad on his behalf and hes embarrassed and happy.
Like day 2 he’s leaving gym and someone is like “Oh LMAO it’s Deku – he was in the year below me at Aldera. Only fuckin quirkless kid in the whole school; can’t believe he got into UA.” He turns to Izuku. “Who’s dick did you suck to get in you - ?” And Shinsou just decks him. He grabs Izuku – who is super confused fyi – and s p r i n t s. They have to stop after a while because hes having a panic attack and Shinsou doesn’t know what the fuck to do and he’s mad and upset and the sunshine boy is sobbing –
Aizawa shows up, having seen the (end of the) altercation and is ready to expel some gen ed kids he can’t legally expel – until he sees the two kids from the entrance exam he was interested in – including the quirkless kid who should have gotten in. Well he’s much more willing to hear them out.
100% requests expulsion on those 2 2E kids because that’s Discrimination and they should know better as second years. Nezu grants it because those 2 were di ck s
No USJ because no All Might – stuff like that will come,,, later : )
Sports Fest! Izuku and Shinsou kick ass, Aizawa is Watching. All Might may have gotten in as a crowd member with Nighteye and a visiting David and Melissa and they are cheering on their sun son. Also, Nighteye is going to go cheer on Mirio so he just got a pass to attend all 3 days of the sports festival. He’s just buying snacks on the second day because he’s never talked to one of the second years in his life.
Shinsou and Izuku make it to the tournament. Izuku has been training pretty seriously with All Might for a while now and hes a very good fighty boy. Makes it to the 3rd round of the tournament where he loses to Iida. Shinsou makes it second where he loses to Katsuki. Izuku is like “Iida might you be Ingenium’s brother or something?” “Yes, I am!” “OH MY GOD I LOVE INGENIUM ISN’T HE THE COOLEST” “YES MY BROTHER IS AMAZING” Shinsou is just watching while faintly amused.

Sole Mates 🦶❤️🦶(Bakugou x Reader)
Tip Jar ☕- Not expected but always appreciated💞
Tumblr media
Part 1, Part 2
Part 3:
“Stupid Deku and his bitch of an ex-wife can die for all I care,” Bakugou angrily grumbled to himself as he threw his hospital gown away from him. He took to changing a lot more aggressively than normal as he tore on his hero costume.
He made sure to toss his gown in the designated clothes bin before storming out of his hospital room. His movements, however, felt robotic as the series of the day looped in his mind over and over again. He tried to pick the day apart piece by piece.
What was that kid’s name again…? His hag of a mother had called out to him a few times. Hiro…? No, that’s not it…
Bakugou’s concentration was abrupted as the sudden commotion of the hospital halls came to a sudden halt in his presence. The nurses all became deathly silent as he marched passed them. He felt their wide eyes trailing his every move like deer watching a predator.
The man scoffed, “The hell are you staring at.” He said very lowly, causing the hoards of people to promptly avert their gazes, returning to their activities.
As soon as he walked out of the hospital, he was swarmed by a barrage of news outlets,
“Ground Zero! Do you have underlying health issues you’re not telling us about!? You seemed to pass out out of seemingly nowhere!”
“Mr Ground Zero! Are you familiar with Deku’s ex-wife? Were you pulled to the scene by personal relations?”
“Are you the reason for their divorce?!”
His face immediately shriveled up at the last question, “SHUT THE FUCK UP, YOU BUNCH OF SCAVENGERS!” he screamed, causing the herd of anchormen/women to  instantly hush and part out of his way. He stormed past the terrified crowd as he grabbed his phone out of his pocket and noticed a few missed calls from some of his ‘friends’: Kirishima, Kaminari, and Jirou.
No doubt that they probably saw what had happened to him on the news. Fucking naturally. Everyone saw him faint like a punk bitch on the live television. Bakugou growled angrily— the grip on his phone tightening before he heavily huffed and began typing a contact name into his device.
He held the thing up to his ear after pressing call, “Hello? Mr. Aizawa.”
The other man gave a tired sigh, “Just call me Aizawa, Bakugou. You’re not in high school anymore,” he replied very flatly.
“I. know. that,” he forced through gritting teeth—a stream of more vulgar choice words threatening to spill from his tightened lips.
“I saw your fight from this evening on television. I am assuming you want to talk about it?”
“Tell me everything you know about bonding quirks.” He spat very hastily.
——————————————————————
‘Stupid Deku and his bitch of an ex can die for all I care.’ You felt the thought creep into your mind like an unwanted house guest—giving you slight pause as Izuku kept his hand firmly wrapped around your forearm.
You looked back up at the green haired man as he waited for you to give him some sort of response to his question, but words failed to make their way from you as you dwelled on Bakugou’s intrusive thought.
Die? We can read some of each other’s thoughts, feel each other’s pain, but if one of us were to die… would the other?
The thought sent a chill down your spine. The feeling of helplessness accompanied that chill until it settled into your tight chest.
No matter how much you couldn’t stand the raging furball of a man, the two of you would have to depend on each other from now on. Yes, whether you liked it or not, your paths had now intertwined with each other for an unpredictable period. You would need to find him and figure this out together.
You reluctantly found yourself grabbing Izuku’s arm and guiding it back away from you, “I-I don’t…” you prepared to decline his self-invitation; however, one look into his emerald eyes completely melted your resolve.
Seriously?
C’mon, Y/N. You are a whole fucking mother. If you can handle Koko’s adorable puppy dog eyes after an entire day of not seeing her, then surely you can handle this. You shook your hesitation away before opening your mouth to firmly speak up,
“Izuku. I don’t think that’s a good—”
“I understand that you’re scared about your situation, but I promise that we will figure it out,” he softly interrupted you, “Together… A-as friends of course,” you weren’t so sure about that part, but you listened to him as he continued speaking anyways, “I do have a few ideas of who to contact, and we can pull some of the street surveillance videos, and grab a witness or two to ask them what happened. We will figure this out—t-the bonded thing.”
You fought the heavy urge to roll your eyes, and settled for crossing your arms instead, “Well, do you have to be at my house to do that?”
“N-no, of course, but It would be easier for me to focus on this, plus my everyday work if I didn’t have to worry about switching Koko between the two of us every day,” he argued, uncertainty written upon his expression.
He so obviously just pulled that outta his ass.
‘Well, he never really was too good at hiding his emotions’ you sighed, “Okay....” you agreed, your eyes shifting away from his own, “...just for tonight…” you trailed off as you looked to your ex-husband’s brightening expression—instant regret filling your mind as your heart fell with his contagious joy.
The upbeat man immediately took to gathering up your belongings for you, excitedly chatting about how he was excited to see what you’ve done with your home, and how Koko was telling him all about how you changed the dining room into a spare office. And how you changed the spare bedroom into a playroom for her.
You listened to all these things that your ever so sweet child had told him from the other side of the bathroom door as you changed into some clothes that he had brought you.
Fuck. She probably tells him everything about your days. Does he know you don’t cook anymore? Damn, he probably does. He probably knows that you put her to bed early on Thursday nights so you can have conference calls with your global investors and everything-- more ammunition for his judgmental fire, “I gotta talk to her about privacy…”
“What did you say, Y/N?” he called from the other side of the door.
“Nothing, just thinking out loud,” you replied as you opened the door revealing Izuku’s flustered expression. He had brought you some of his spare clothes, and the sight of you in them after almost a year sent an unexpected surge of emotions to his heart.
“Uh.. um. T-t-the n-nurses said that we can go out of a back entrance to avoid the media swarm outside…” he finally spat out as he averted his gaze from you.
Damn, you had almost forgotten how he was basically a celebrity. He was climbing up the ranks towards being the number one hero after all. And his ex-wife was just hospitalized, probably on live news, “Okay…”
After successfully making it out of the hospital with little disturbance, You found yourself in Izuku’s car. Alone. Just you and him.
God, try not to think about it. Don’t think about it like that. For God’s sake DON’T—
“So this is the first time we’ve ever been alone like this since last year, huh…?” He suddenly broke the silence.
“…Yeah…” you trailed off with an uneasy tone of voice.
The rest of the ride pretty much followed this exact script: an awkward silence where you were practically dying internally, followed by him opening his mouth to spout some meaningless conversation, followed by you giving a half-assed reply and then starting the cycle all over again.
And a vicious cycle it was.
Soon enough, however, the two of you found yourselves at Inko’s apartment. Praise whatever omnipotence was listening to your prayers, because Izuku decided that he would stay inside of the car to keep it warm and running while you grabbed Koko.
You, of course, had your own key to the place since this was the usual buffer between you and Izuku. As soon as you began to open the front door to the apartment you heard rapid shuffling on the other side, shortly after followed by a high voice, “Daddy’s home! He’s back!”
You scoffed, ‘Mommy’s here too, brat,’ you spitefully thought to yourself before swinging the door open to scoop your daughter, who had run to the door to help you unlock it, into your arms, “Hi, my baby!” you cooed as you squeezed her small frame into yours. The girl hugged you back for only moment before going stiff,
“Where’s daddy? He said he’d be back tonight,” she whined.
“Oh, he did, did he?” That fucker had this planned the entire time! The sweet face and freckles did wonders for the man-- you gravely underestimated his plotting nature. Shit!
“Hi sweetheart!” you heard the schemer in question chime from behind you in the entrance, causing you to snap your head back in shock. You were met with an apologetic expression as if he wanted to say ‘I changed my mind, sorry.’
You took back what the fuck you mentioned about ‘whatever omnipotence is listening.’
“DADDY!” Koko snatched herself from your arms as she shuffled over towards Izuku. Her arm and leg prosthetics heavily clunked as she fumbled his way. She practically fell into his embrace as her foreign limbs tried to keep up with her excited body.
You heart dropped at the sight, settling in a deep pit of guilt at the bottom of your twisting stomach. You would never get used to seeing her struggle with her two prosthetics. You tried to hide the obvious discomfort on your face and offer a slight smile at the otherwise warming scene in front of you.
“Be careful, honey. You don’t want to hurt yourself,” Izuku warned your daughter, however the young girl was too busy fumbling with pieces of his hero costume,
“When I make my hero costume, I want it to be just like yours,” the five-year-old randomly spit out.
That pinge turned into full fledged heartbreak at her words. Izuku seemed to feel the same way as the two of you made eye contact with one another; however, as you opened your mouth to say something and break the thick silence, Inko walked in,
“Oh, good! You’re back! How are you Y/N, sweetie? You doing okay?! I saw the attack on the news! Of course, and then when Izuku called—”
“I’m fine, Inko,” you interrupted the frantic woman. She tended to over worry about things and work herself up. You guess Izuku had to get it from somewhere, “Thank you so much for watching Koko,”
“You know it’s no problem at all! We had dinner of course and washed up for bed already, so you're all set to go tonight!” she sang.
Both you and Izuku once again thanked Inko and as soon as you all said your good-byes, you headed back to your apartment. The drive there was much louder with a five year old in the back seat, however the conversation mostly stayed between her and her obvious favorite parent. It’s okay. You weren’t bitter. Not at all.
Izuku, much like he promised, found himself touring your apartment and commenting on little things you had changed here and there as Koko and him hung out for about a half an hour before she went to bed at around 11 pm. Sadly, that was her normal bedtime.
By the end of the night you found yourself drowsily plopping down onto your living room couch and turning on the TV to unwind. Ironically, around this time of night when you watched television, dramatic reality TV was what you found yourself absorbed into. Viewing people get wound up was the perfect way to wind down.
Watching a ho get dragged by her hair and seeing glasses of citrus vodka being thrown across dining room tables was just the relaxing conclusion that you needed.
And god, was that the understatement of the century! Koko was always a pain in the ass to get to sleep, but Izuku being there made it a lot worse! Eventually you stepped into the situation and put your bad guy pants on to help you put your foot down. Izuku never really was the best at giving the girl stern orders. She practically had him wrapped around his finger. Especially since her accident…
He felt the burden of guilt you supposed...
You were snapped out of your thoughts as Izuku came to sit down next you on the other far side of the couch. You immediately threw him a suspicious side eye; however, concluded that if he stayed way over there you would permit this intrusion.
Still, every now and then when you would look back over to the green haired man, he seemed to be inching close and closer, until eventually, here was less that a foot of space between you.
“Ughhhhhh,” you threw your head onto the hard back of the couch as you bellowed a loud, annoyed groan.
“What? What’s wrong?!” he inched even closer to you as his voice pitched in worry.
You snapped our head back upright to toss him a soft glare, “What do you think you’re doing Izuku?”
His eyes darted around your expression as if he were searching for the right thing to say “Watching TV...?” he hesitantly trailed off.
“Mhmm,” you deadpanned as you swiftly stood up from the couch, “I’m gonna head to bed.” Reality Tv night was ruined by his stupid broccoli head ass. You regretted letting him stay here in the first place. How could you have possibly thought that this was anything even resembling a good idea after everything that you two had been through?!
“Wait…” he called out to you has he jumped int from of your path. You angrily eyed the green flashes of light accompanying his body. You looked up to him with wild eyes—he knew how much you hated it when he used his quirk when it came to you.  He held up two apologetic palms to you as if he wanted to reach out but stopped himself letting them fall limply by his sides, “I just… this is the first time we have really talked in months. I know that I have already said this, but I am sorry… I shouldn’t have said those things to you. I think about it every day and if I could take it back I would. You know I don’t really mean those things.”
“Oh you mean the part where you called me a… hmm what were your exact words” you tapped your finger on the bottom of your chin in feign thought,  “A selfish bitch? Or maybe you’re referring to when you said that I was a bad mother?” You finally released your urge to roll your eyes.
“I shouldn’t have said those things,” he sadly repeated.
“Ya fucking think?” you dropped your head into a scowl, “’Night.”
“Wait. Y/N wait! Please. Let’s fix this right now,” he begged as he tried to keep up with your retreating form.
“Ummm, it’s a little past that isn’t it?” your voice carried higher in frustration as you continued walking, trying not to make eye contact him as you rushed toward the sanctuary of your room.
“No, I mean. I want to be close to you,” Izuku finally grabbed the courage to jump in front of you and place his hands on your shoulders, as if he were trying to steady you on the edge of a cliff, “Things just aren’t the same without you. We can be friends,” he promised.
Your faces were dangerously close to each other as he gazed deeply into your eyes with his pleading expression. You bit your lip in uncertainty. It seemed like minutes had passed by with the two of you staring at each other until you finally broke the stalemate, “Friends, huh?” you raised an eyebrow at the man before the distance between the two of you seemed to shorten ever so slightly.
It was still enough for Izuku to notice, “Y-Yeah,” he stammered as his eyes quickly shifted towards your lips and then back up to your eyes.
“Friends?” you softly whispered as the distance between the two of you shortened even more, as if by some magnetic force.
“Friends…” the words barely floated out of his mouth before your lips pressed softly against his. You pushed deeply into him and allowed the heat of the moment flow between the two of you, your lips moving perfectly against each other when suddenly, you ripped yourself away from him,
“You can’t handle being friends,” you spat, glaring at his at his clouded eyes. Your words seem to phase straight through him as he quickly grabbed your face once more and pressed his wanting lips back onto your own. You tensed up at first.
Since when was he so fucking bold?!
Despite every logical thought in your brain, you eventually fell into his warm embrace— melting against his familiar touch.
On the other side of town, Bakugou was also having a very heated night as he fought against a villain with meteor quirk.
“KACCHAN! On your left!!”
The explosive man immediately weaved to the right and only narrowly missed getting slammed by a flaming ball of rock. Most people in this situation would say thank you, however Bakugou was not like most people, “SHUT UP, YOU IDIOT!! I saw it coming! Also, call me that again if you wanna get set on fire!”
“I see you’re still the same…” Kaminari trailed off before shooting a line of lightning toward the villain.
Bakugou gave slight pause, “Why the fuck wouldn’t I be dumbass?!” he barked.
“You know what they say about near death experiences. They change a man. I guess it doesn’t apply to gremlins,” the other blonde smirked as he teased the short fuse.
“Shut the fuck up if you know what’s good for you, sparky!” Bakgou bellowed just as Kirishima came into the mix,
“Hey guys, we are kinda in the middle of a major villain fight, here! Could you save the bickering for later?!” he yelled before slamming his hardened fist into an incoming meteor.
“He started it!” Kaminari laughed.
“I’ll fucking finish it t—”
Bakugou’s threat suddenly paused as his face became bright red. Both anger and embarrassment accumulated in his cheeks as he flashed a furious glare behind him. Who the fuck just grabbed his ass?!
However, his face immediately fell as he found no one behind him.
That’s when it hit him like a meteor—the bond. That fucking bitch must be slutting it up!!
WAIT… she was with … does that fucking mean…?!
The man felt the sudden urge to through his entire body into a bleach bath.
Deku was indirectly copping a feel on his ass.
“DEKUUUUUUUUU,” Bakugou screeched at the top of his lungs as the redness in his face intensified by tenfold, “YOU BASTAAAARD!”
Do you keep going with Midoriya?? or slam the breaks??
YOU DECIDE!

Once Bitten, Twice Stupid prt 165 prt2
Keith took a long and shaky breath, gripping the counter as he slowly released it. The world didn’t deserve Mami and her love
“I miss her. Lance took me to her grave. I didn’t know what to say. I don’t know what to say to dad”
“He adored you. You don’t have to say anything if you don’t feel like it. You can be there and see his grave, or you can be there and remember he always loved you”
“I don’t really remember him and what I think I remember I don’t know if it’s real or if I’ve tricked myself into believing that my thoughts are memories”
“He loved you. When you were a baby, he’d spend hours cradling you. You’d cry and cry when he wasn’t. There’s no particular way you have to feel about things. You won’t know how you feel until you’re standing in front his grave”
“Mum, if you knew... why didn’t you tell me sooner?”
“I did think to include it in the letter I wrote to you, but... maybe selfishly I wanted you to ask me to go with you to see him. I don’t know if I have the courage to go alone”
Keith wrapped his arms around himself. Krolia wanted to go with him. Keith couldn’t quite remember who was doing what and coming for the trip with him
“Shiro’s supposed to be coming. I can’t ask him to come when he should be with Curtis. I’m worried about Lance, too. His pregnancy is stable right now. I’m scared we’ll be too far from help if something happens”
“Then why don’t you postpone it?”
Keith didn’t want to. Not after waiting years, but what was the point of taking his lover to meet his father if Lance couldn’t be there. The same went for Shiro, he couldn’t introduce his brother if his brother wasn’t there
“I’ve waited years to find his grave. I don’t even remember the place we grew up, other than dad’s shack. Do you know if it’s still standing?”
“I own the deed to the land, I brought it when... your father passed, but no. I haven’t been there in some time”
Krolia wanted him to ask her, but Keith couldn’t ask until he knew what was going to happen with his brother. He felt he still needed that buffer between him and his mother, lest they get into an argument and stop talking for another 20ish years
“I’m only going to work this out talking to Shiro”
“That’s what I’ve been saying. Have a good talk and a think. There’s still hours until morning”
“Yeah. Night, mum”
“Night, Keith”
*
Keith felt foolish as he stood at the doorway to the living room and called out to Shiro that he wanted to talk in a whisper yell. Of course his mother was right. Shiro was awake, his brother letting out a muffled curse as he kicked what Keith assumed to be the coffee table trying to sneak out the room. Following him out to the back door, the motion sensor flicked on, blinding both of them momentarily. The light spilling from the kitchen barely registered in the darkness of the rest house.
Keith regretted not bring his phone, the chances of cow crap too high to risk sitting in the grass, leaving them to sit on the paving which really wasn’t the same
“Keith?”
Dropping his head against his brother’s shoulder, the cold was already seeping through his underwear and Lance’s robe
“I want to help and I don’t know how”
“Help with what, kiddo?”
“Curtis. I know he isn’t okay. I know he’s getting worse. I’m worried about you and I want to help, but I don’t know how”
“I don’t know how to help Curtis either”
The omission by his brother hung in the air. Keith knew that feeling sucked hard. Lance suffered so much and he didn’t know if he really did make things better the way Lance claimed he did
“We don’t want to postpone getting the demon out of him”
Shiro snarked, taking the words wrong
“I know he gave you a scare, but...”
“That’s not it. I mean, yeah, he did, but for his sake I want to get this demon out of him already. He must be going through so much right now. And you. I know... you went through a lot with me, stuff I didn’t even realise. I want you to get your happy ending too, you know?”
Wrapping his arm around him, Shiro rested his head on Keith’s as he got comfortable
“Who said you could go grow up on me like this?”
“Pretty sure you’re to blame”
“I wouldn’t say it was me”
“I would. That’s why I want to help. Lance wants to help too. Mum called Coran today, I think she told him we should summon out the demon as soon as possible... but he’s your boyfriend. I don’t know what you’re going through”
“Keith, I think you’re just about the only person who does. Today’s the second time he’s been violent. The first time he threw a glass across the apartment when I asked him why the tap was running. I sure know how to pick them”
“You love Curtis. He loves you too. A lot of things Lance said made sense to me. About maybe the demon has it’s own ego. It’s sharing a body with Curtis and the strain has to be next level on both of them. What can we do to help?”
Keith felt something wet on his scalp. It took him a long moment and a half to click. Oh... Shiro was crying. His brother’s body barely shook, the shivers running through him easily mistaken for shivering in the cold
“You’re my brother, and my family. Whatever you need, I want to be here for you. Expect if you need to practice your awful jokes because they’re awful, you can borrow Lance for that”
“I like to think I’m hilarious”
“I know you do. What do we do now? Lance is totally up for a little lie if you need some time or some help”
“I can’t run from this”
“It’s not running, it’s relying on us. None of want Curtis feeling bad for things he can’t control”
“We were supposed to be postponing the summoning to see your dad”
“I know, and I don’t want to not go see him now I know where he is. I also want my brother there with me”
“That means delaying either the summoning or the trip”
“Maybe... we should go after the summoning? Take Curtis with us and give him a few days to get used to everything?”
“Coran needs to keep him for observation. We don’t know what messing with his soul will do. For all the shit we’ve hunted, this is still out there. Talking about demons and souls”
“Technically Coran and Allura are both fae which means they’re technically demons...”
Both brothers fell silent as they considered that fact. Keith knew Coran was powerful as fuck. Humanity was lucky to have him on their side. The same went with Allura. She could be scary as hell when she was angry. Shiro hugged him tighter
“I don’t know. I don’t know how Lance can be so calm after today. I know Curtis didn’t trip but he still tried to cover for him. Even after what happened to the nursery wall”
“With the amount of time Lance has tripped on the stairs, he’s a total pro at fixing the walls”
“I don’t know if you’re bragging or if you wish Lance wasn’t quite so clumsy”
“I thought it was the glasses but he’s just as clumsy without them. It’s like he enjoys randomly attacking things with his head”
“He gets that from you. How’s your head feeling?”
“Sore. You’d think it’d be harder after all the times I got hit there”
“If it’s still sore we should probably have Coran check you out”
“Nah, it’ll be fine. We still haven’t decided what to do”
“I was looking forward to seeing the nursery painted”
So was Keith. Once the paint was up they could work on the furniture. Once the furniture was together that’d be a huge weight off Lance’s mind. He’d clear forgotten about his brother coming to help in the wake of Lance’s sisters popping up
“You know... if you’re awake and I’m awake... we could finish that competition”
“You mean the one where I totally won for the most paint on the wall? It’s the middle of the night”
“And? I’m pretty sure Lance would have done all his home repairs whenever the fuck he felt like it”
“You want to paint the nursery?”
Keith didn’t know what to do. Shiro was crying, and he couldn’t fix that pain for him. Lance had been right though, though it wasn’t that unusual and his advice directed towards Curtis. Shiro also needed to see that a broken wall could be fixed and that in the scheme of things it wasn’t something worth tears over. While Lance had wanted to do the nursery together, he doubted his boyfriend would mind terribly if they finished the job they’d started that morning
“Nah, I want to finish kicking your old arse”
“My old arse? Says the man dating a vampire”
“Lance is timeless. Plus, he’s said it before and I think it’s kind of maybe true, that he feels some of his mental growth was stunted by turning so young. Like, the only old man thing about him is he love of lawnmowers and evenly cut grass”
“He does love lawn. How does he feel about bush?”
Keith shoved Shiro back playfully
“That’s... no! Shiro, no”
Shiro chuckled
“It was begging to be said”
“No, it really wasn’t. God, you’re making me think about that pick up line”
“Which one?”
There was only one he could think of off the top of his head
“Fallen over a stump lately? How about a root?”
“No thanks. I’m taken”
Keith realised he’d walked right into that one, groaning at his brother. Why did he do this to himself? Why did Shiro have to be so damn weird?

Home isn’t a place, It’s a feeling (Tom Holland Fanfiction)
Chapter One
The cameras flashed everywhere around me, I tried to pretend I wasn’t anxious at the thought of being seen at this thing. Premier Nights weren’t my favourite part of being friends with actor. They filled me with a sense of anxiety that before Tom got famous I’d never felt before. I felt a hand at my elbow. “You look worse than Tom and he’s the one everyone came to see” Harry laughed. Harry Holland. Little shit. Twin #2.
“I hate these things” I muttered, his hand tapped at my elbow in reassurance. I tried to find it reassuring. I failed. “You can hide behind me if you want” he offered, I think he noticed my unease. The uneven pattern of my breathing and most obvious, I was biting my nails like crazy, my mother was going to have a fit when she saw them. I smiled at Harry, I tried to smile like I wasn’t panicking but I think Harry saw straight through me. A side effect of spending so much time around the Holland Boys. “Thanks for the offer, but Sam is still my favourite twin” I replied, a joke seemed the right way to go. Harry sent me a dirty look. “He got you the guitar for Christmas three years ago, let it go,” He said shaking his head in disapproval. I snorted.
He was right. Three years ago on Christmas day Sam Holland, other little shit and Twin #1 had gifted me a Fender FSR CC-60s Mahogany Concert Acoustic Guitar and it was still the light in my life. You would think that my best friend would have been the one that had bought me the greatest present I’d ever received but Tom didn’t understand guitars and we had a deal that meant that Tom wouldn’t buy me anything to do with music and I wouldn’t buy him anything to do with golf because I couldn’t understand golf to save my life.
I’d been spending part of my Christmas holiday with the Hollands since I was 10 years old. My mother and Nikki had been neighbours (-and best friends!) as long as either of them could remember. My mother worked as a care assistant and more often than not she had to work 12-hour shifts around the Christmas period so I learned from a very young age that the Hollands were like a second family to me. Every time my mum had to work overtime to make ends meet or couldn’t come and get me from school because she just couldn’t get her half an hour break yet, I would go to the Hollands and looking back now that time I spent at their house became some of the best memories of my childhood.
The cameras flashed again and the sound of the crowd outside the cinema got infinitely louder bringing me kicking and screaming back to the present. “Guess Tom’s here” I muttered. I heard the sound of tyres squealing outside and the sound of chanting got louder. Damn those fangirls and their seemingly infinite lung capacity. “Tom! Tom!” They shouted I leaned on the door frame and watched the scene unfold. At some point during Tom’s grand entrance, Harry went to find Sam and I was left alone. I wasn’t fond of being left alone but Sam was doing photographs for the premier and he needed help. The cinema seemed bigger than it had been all the times I’d been there before. Somehow leaning against the door waiting for my best friend to come waltzing through it, when he was done sighing autographs, the place seemed to be the size of the Blackpool Tower Ballroom. The dress that I’d squeezed myself in to for the occasion felt tighter than ever, my chest painfully constricted.
I had been thinking about leaving when the door in front of me opened and a familiar face was hurried through by security men that were three times his size, that was saying a lot recently. Tom had been working his arse off in the gym and was around twice the size he used to be.
I took my time to take in his appearance before he noticed me, his face was flushed. His navy suit was dishevelled, the grey shirt underneath was flecked with sweat and his hair was sticking to his forehead with the same sweat from running around signing autographs and taking pictures with the aforementioned fangirls.
“Tommy” I called, he jumped a mile and looked over to where I was standing by the door. I saw the relief cross over his face that I wasn’t someone he didn’t know watching him at what could be considered a vulnerable moment. I was the only person who could call him that.
“Jules, thank god.” He smiled walking over, I watched his eyes take me in as he came closer. He reached out his hand for mine and I happily let him pull me towards where the crowd of people were heading towards the cinema room for the first showing of Toms new movie ‘ONWARD’. I’d heard most of the movie in the clips that Tom had messaged me whilst he was on set, I hadn’t actually seen the animation though and I was excited to see what he’d been making the months he’d been away.
We sat in the seats towards the back, two seats on Tom’s left side were reserved for Sam and Harry when they finally got around to joining us. Tom’s arm immediately went around my shoulder, allowing me to lean back into his embrace. I’d missed this. Yeah, I’d seen him since he came back from New York but I hadn’t seen him for a while it was nice to have him close to me again.
“I’m so glad you came” he was whispering, leaning closer to my ear, I felt his breath tickling the shell and I sighed happily. His breath smelt minty fresh like he’d brushed his teeth minutes ago but I hadn’t missed the gentle pop of his gum. Smart boy, no tuna breath on premiere night. “Wouldn’t be anywhere else” I replied. Tom’s gentle smile was the last thing I remember seeing before the lights went off and the opening credits to the film started.
 Before anyone can say it, I know what you’re thinking. You lucky bitch. You’re best friends with Tom Holland. I understand that because Tom is one of the greatest guys that you’ll ever meet. But not for the reasons that most of the fangirls think. Yeah, the man was fucking gorgeous, I’m his best friend but I have eyes. Buffer than a Norse god and more swag that a billionaire playboy philanthropist but that wasn’t the reason that I was so lucky. I saw a side to him that most people didn’t, I saw sleepy Tom falling asleep in front of the TV watching reruns of F.R.I.E.N.D.S. I saw Tom shitting himself watching the remake of IT. I saw him crying over a puppy video on his Facebook and I saw him proudly smiling at his phone when he finally did something right on Instagram. He was and always had been a great guy.
But enough about Tom, let’s get back to where we were.
The premiere went better than expected and I loved the new film, Tom had the gall to laugh at me when I was sobbing towards the end of the movie. That earned him a punch to the stomach that Nikki would have been proud of. Stupid boy, I can’t get through a damn one of his movies without tearing up. Damn almost had a crying fit when I watched The Impossible. Now, remember I was around 13 when the premiere of that film happened and the thought of anything happening to Tom back then was more than my pimpley hormone fuelled heart could take. Tom had to come out of the premiere and hold me for twenty minutes whilst I sobbed, repeatedly reminding me it was a film and he wasn’t going to leave me anytime soon. Yeah, It wasn’t my proudest moment. It was one of my favourite Tom memories though.
“So, What did you think?” Tom asked as the lights came back on. I looked up at him through my panda eyes where my mascara had run and gave him the dirtiest look I could manage. “You said it wasn’t sad” I accused, rubbing at my eyes profusely “You lied to me”
“You cry at every one of my premieres, when are you going to learn to wear waterproof mascara?” Toma asked, pulling his sleeve down over his hand and taking a swipe at the mascara running down my cheeks.  “What’s life without a little risk?” I smirked, he shook his head at me, his hand gripping my chin tighter as he gently wiped my face, in the back of a movie theatre with the sleeve of his suit. Oh the class
“You have got to stop rewatching Harry Potter” He sighed
“Says the person who bought me the boxset” I returned. “Not to watch everyday” He laughed, seeming happy enough with his handiwork. He let go of my face. Part of me instantly missed his touch. “And I suppose a great muggle like yourself is going to stop me?” I laughed. Tom looked at me with great disapproval. Tom had never understood my obsession with Harry Potter. A diehard Marvel fan instead, there was no room in his head for anything except Spiderman. The more I think about it, the more I realise that him not being Spiderman for the MCU was utterly preposterous. The man had spiderman bedding, granted Paddy currently slept on those but still, the man lived and breathed Marvel.
“You’re lucky I put up with your arse. Now, what did you actually think?” He asked standing up and holding his hand out to help me up and out of the mostly empty theatre.
“I love it” I smiled. “You really pulled at my heartstrings. Are you going to introduce me to Chris Pratt now?” I asked, fluttering my wet eyelashes at Tom in faux flirtation
“And have to bail you out of prison after you flash at him? No chance” He laughed, gripping my hand tighter and scoffing at my flirtation persuasion attempt. “Indecent exposure is a misdemeanour, I’ll skip prison” I replied. “I’m still not introducing you, in fact. I’m skipping the afterparty all together” He smiled. We’d reached the door to the cinema. Everyone was pretty much gone. There were a few stragglers that were walking around talking on the phone or waiting for taxis home I imagined. There was a teenaged girl that looked up when she saw Tom and let out the most adorable squeak. I pulled on his hand and made him stop to take a picture with her, not that Tom needed forcing to be nice to his fans but Tom could be oblivious and she struck me as the type of girl that wouldn’t have the balls to come over and ask for a picture.
“So, want me to drop you off?” he asked, sliding into the driver’s seat. I heard the leather screech and he settled himself comfortably and reached for his seatbelt.
“To the house exactly three doors down from yours?” I laughed, sliding into the passenger’s seat and instantly reaching for the radio, turning on signal one on low.
“Well actually,” He said pausing and waiting for me to fasten my seatbelt before starting the car “I was wondering if I could stay at your house tonight?” He asked. “My house? With my mother?” I asked, knowing that my mother wasn’t at the house but playing hard to get all the same.
“Isn’t she working at the care home tonight?” He pointed out. The beams from the traffic lights bounced across his face as he drove and I found myself watching the patterns with interest. “I’m not sure if I should find it creepy that you know her rota or not, why are you planning on getting me alone?” I asked, regarding him with a fake expression of fear and distrust.
“I want to spend time with my best friend, and also not be surrounded by my parents right now” He replied, his shoulders tensed at the mention of his parents and I instantly understood. “I see where this is going, Nikki still hasn’t come around to the idea of you moving out, has she?” I asked laughing, “She would come around to it a lot easier if you’d come live with me,” He said turning on to our street. The sight of the familiar street made my heart happy in a weird way. “And add fuel to our families attempts at marrying us off?” I asked. I watched the smirk stretch across his face, Tom found our parents inability to accept our friendship as what it was utterly hilarious, I, however, found every single attempt that they made to push us closer together completely humiliating. “Why ruin the habit of a lifetime?” He said as he parked perfectly in front of my house. I got out of the car in lieu of answering the question. I turned to head up the path my front garden, slowing my pace only slightly in order for Tom to catch up to me, and also because my feet were killing me in these heels.
As I suspected, Tom appeared at my side within seconds and I sent him a bemused smile. I opened the door and headed inside. I kicked my heels off and turned around to hang my coat up, to find Tom still outside the door. I cocked my head at him in question.
“What are you a vampire? Need an invite?” I asked. He didn’t laugh
“You never actually said I could stay over,” He said in explanation, digging his feet in the dirt as if he actually expected me to deny him access to what I suspected has become like a second home to him too. He really was a perfect gentleman.
“Come in, you fucking idiot”. I laughed. “You better not hog the blanket this time”

Dear Self,
H+1 [sry for being late]
Yeah! Hmm, where do I start? Let’s talk about you!
Congratulations on your reborn! There are 3 important sections that we probably should talk about last year.
Section 1:
GRACE
Yes, we talked about grace, you mentioned it in the last year’s ‘letter to myself’ that you want to find your grace. You want to be remembered as you, the real you, not the girl who’s been lost. Oh my god, that sounds desperate. Yeah, you sound like a desperate person last year, which is true. Just because you lost your purpose and benchmark of what ideal life is. But month by month, nature spoke to you back. And that feels damn good, when you let go of the negative thought! And yeah, you did go to a therapist once, because you can’t hold the pressure. You loved your job so much, your friends too much, you want to continue to run but you don’t have any energy left. Kinda feel like that! And THANK YOU mostly for my Crewmate for trusting me! HOWEVER, 2020 shocked me more than once. God tested you to give a reaction to an uncomfortable situation. And it kinda personal so you would not share it in detail. But..mmm, in short, you have all the choice and opportunity to drag someone to hell but you prefer not. Because., you already have your grace. Even, you help them up, build their mental health back, cheer them up, listen to them, and give a very honest + positive suggestion and motivation. And you do that for yourself, not for anyone. Because you are you, the real you. Which is good. I AM SO PROUD OF YOU!! REALLY!
Post Credits:
You have found yourself wiser than ever. You are a happy person and you have found your peace without dropping your crown. You are always the Queen, the Princess, and the Silly Girl.
Reminder:
Always be brave to speak up about your opinion. To share your POV. To be kind without judgment. To be free from world misery by sharing your wisdom and kind words and action. You are not what people did you. You are you.
Section 2:
VISION
This is gold. Dream. Idea. Destination.Vision. You of all the people in the world who has sooooo many beautiful dreams. There are so many that you want to do. You can feel it like ‘This is your time’. Someone told you that you refer to ‘Death’ Card of Tarot Major Arcana. Why death, you said? ISN’T THAT BAD! To create or manifest something new and pure, you have to die first. Then you reborn as a new person -pure, with a new lifestyle and healthier thought, and a clear head. You feel like it might be the year when your head is so clear like really crystal clear. I mean it was not about improvement. But it was a new thing. You do a lot of yoga last year which makes you improve your inner balance. On your daily exercise, you keep focusing on your destination and you start making day by day plan to reach that destination. To make that vision become the real purpose, not only imaginary. They said if you want to have something. Make it specific, think about it, feel it, plan about it, do progress about it. And every single time you thinking deeply about it, your subconscious will be trying to find the way for you. It will find the answer you are looking for. Do you remember that night? When you were crying because you were so tired of working? But you know you enjoyed and it was kinda slight burnout thing that night but you told yourself that: IN THE END, you will smile and laugh about it. This is only a night. Keep going on. And yeah it was a magical moment when something on your head become something that everyone can see and appreciate, it was from every drop of sweat and sugary drink that keep you up for thinking. I think what the wise man said was true: Opportunity is not luck. Luck is not an opportunity. Luck is when opportunity meets your readiness. So don’t wait for that opportunity to get yourself ready. Be ready first and it will come to you. Manifesting.
Post Credits:
You made people invest in your thought, which is so illuminated on some point. Thank you sugary drink! You invest your calories to our benefit! Ha!
Reminder:
Don’t get too oversoaked about it. This is a new beginning. You will be tired, out of an idea, and out of place. Take a nap, a day rest, watch something, talk to someone. REST. This is a new path for you that might be a way to open a greater path, so don’t act off guard!
Section 3:
TRUTH
You always want to feel something. You always want to feel. You always try to find a way to feel something. A good ending. A smooth process. A fairy tale. A good one. But in the truth, there’s always an obstacle. There’s always something’s wrong. You asked yourself “ What did I do? Why I deserved this”, The answer is not about what you did, but how?. The happy ending is intriguing stupid BUT what on criteria you will claim something like a happy ending?. You need to always set your optimism high, you need to dream high because it will triggers your move. When you want to go to the moon, you will build a rocket. When you want to go to the next city, you will build a car. That’s pretty simple. Your action is based on how much you invest and commit to your destination. BUT why the happy ending is stupid? BECAUSE sometimes we never admit or we NEVER REALLY CALCULATE that the worst obstacle will be there, the storm will be there, the burglar will be there. And the most important thing is ABOUT HOW YOU’RE GONNA DO ABOUT IT! Yes, ofc you have to be realistic and accept that probably shit will happen, there’s always a probability. Sometimes, you lower your standard just because you are too insecure and you are just afraid, you have no plan! You think like “Ahh whatever just see what happens later” NO! This year you realize that is a pretty wrong way. Lemme tell you something! THE TRUTH is that a happy ending is not a  destination. The happy ending is enjoying the process, hustling your best, preparing for the worst, and be responsible for your choice. That is a happy ending, dear. Life without regret until the very end.
Post Credits:
It was amazing seeing you grew. You are the bravest person, the greatest person. One day you will see these words back. Maybe one year later or more if you’re not forgetiing this.  And you will smile because you know you are your own choice.
Reminder:
You have all the choice in the world. No one gonna picks it for you. You have all the right, all the time in this world to live the life you choose. Remember that.
BONUS SECTION:
GRATITUDE
Thank God, for letting me live in your cosmos.
Thanks for my family, to be there for me, even sometimes I’m easily stressing out at home and being sassy to you all. I am so sorry and grateful at the same time.
Thanks to Crewmate, amazing team, amazing experience. Thanks for letting me grow with you.
Thanks to My Friends across the world, thanks for sharing your time and let me see your glow and your flaw. Thanks for being my reflection
Thanks to Project Team, trusting me is a gamble right? But here we go, this is our new beginning
last but very not least,
Thanks to my muse, for making me realize that I always can be happy, sad, laugh, cry, drag down, reborn, glowing, loving, loved, resent, broken...almost. Everything. I can go thru it without you. But why am I always searching for something? In my room, in a public place, at 3 AM, every buffer and in missing beat on the song. Why am I always searching for something? Because hope is evil and sweet. Maybe we are poetry to each other in our encounter. And the purpose of your existence is still a mystery to me. Thank you. You are the music to my ear, always be a closure to my poem.
TO ANOTHER GREAT YEAR AHEAD.
THANK YOU, SELF.

Dealer's Choice, so feel free to pick one, some or all of these three: H38, with Faris & El (with or without Luminerik, heh); H2, Hendrik and literally anybody but Jade might be funniest; H9, Serena & Jade
Alright, so H38, or “We should do a couples costume.” stuck out to me.
Please enjoy the following with this visual. Thank you. :)
“We could do…a couples costume,” El said sheepishly, his shoulders up to his ears. Erik looked back at him like he was speaking a different language.
“Excuse me? Could you repeat that? I think I heard you wrong.”
El shook his head, he meant what he’d said.
“For the parade. Faris said he’d even dress up with us-”
Before El could finish the thought Erik had already turned his back to walk away. He waved his hand dismissively back at Eleven.
“No thanks. I have no interest in helping him any more than we already have. Do what you like, but I’m out.”
He didn’t look back because he knew El’s pout would draw him right back in, and damn it, he wasn’t going to dress up in a stupid costume with El and Faris.
After an hour of window shopping for things he didn’t need, Erik almost ran right into Veronica blocking his path, arms spread wide to get his attention.
“You. With me. Now.”
As much as Erik wanted to argue for the sake of being an ass, he decided it was easier to do as she said. It was too hot for anything else in this godforsaken city.
“What did you say to Eleven?” she said, hands on her hips. He assumed she’d jump up to smack him in the face if his answer wasn’t a gushing apology. Instead he shrugged his shoulders.
“I told him I didn’t want to dress up with him for the parade.”
Veronica huffed. “He asked you because he didn’t want to hang out with Faris alone. You were supposed to be his buffer. Some partner you are!”
That comment cut a bit, and Erik knew Veronica knew just how to get under his skin. He crossed his arms over his chest.
“Fine. I guess if he needs me I’ll be there.”
“That’s more like it. Now Sit. Stay. Good boy.” She mocked a whip movement with her hand before walking away, laughing. Erik rolled his eyes with a huff and turned to make his way toward the palace.
Crowds had already begun to form along the main street, and Erik found it increasingly more difficult to elbow his way through. By the time he finally reached the palace, the parade was about to begin.
The two guards in front of the entrance crossed their spears, blocking Erik’s way in.
“Sorry, kid. No entry to the palace during the festival, Sultan’s orders.”
Erik grunted behind gritted teeth, they had to be around here somewhere. He glanced around, but everyone was already in costume. He caught a glimpse of purple and wheeled around, but it was just Sylvando, decked out in his usual feathers.
“Looking for someone, sweetheart?” He asked. “Where’s your other half?”
Erik furrowed his brow and opened his mouth to argue.
‘I know, I know. Honestly, honey we’re all just waiting for it at this point.”
Erik snorted back a laugh and turned to walk away. Sylvando called after him.
“If you’re looking for our little Luminary, he’s dressed as a horse with the princey-poo!”
Erik clenched his fists. Technically, this was his fault. If he would have just agreed to go with El in the first place, he wouldn’t have to -
Wait, a horse?
Erik scanned the gathering crowd of performers until he spotted what might have looked like a horse…if you’d only ever seen one from about 30 feet away in the dark.
He jogged over and tentatively patted the horse’s back.
“Uh, El? Are you in there?”
The head of the horse came off, and he was face to face with Eleven.
“Hey, sorry about earlier. I didn’t realize-”
“Thank you for coming, but I’m still mad at you. What changed your mind?”
Erik decided he wasn’t giving Veronica the credit for guilting him back. That, and it made him seem like an even worse friend.
“Change of heart. Even thieves can have those, ya know,” he said, crossing his arms over his chest. Another person emerged from the back of the costume.
“My friends! A thousand thank yous for coming! Oh, this is delightful! Now that there are two of you, I can ride the noble steed!”
“Excuse me?” Erik said, holding himself tighter. There was no way in hell Faris actually expected him to get in that thing.
Ten minutes and a few puppy-dog pouts later, Erik was in the back end of the horse getup.
“I can’t believe-” he started, until Faris decided to climb onto his back. All of the air left his lungs and he braced the weight on his legs, which had already started to wobble.
“Oh my god I’m going to collapse. This isn’t going to work!” His voice was muffled through gritted teeth. He reached out desperately and wrapped his arms around El’s hips for support, burrowing his face in his lower back. He tried to arch his back, but it caved as his core gave out, keening Faris violently to the side.
“Woah, woah there friend! Should we place dear Eleven in the back instead? I fear you may not be able to handle the weight.” He dismounted and El pulled the horse head off, stepping out so Erik could move. He gasped for fresh air, his face flushed and hair sticking to his forehead.
“I think I almost died.”
“Perhaps it would help if you removed your shirts. The parade is an entire lap around the city, and I would not want my steed to pass out from under me!”
Erik shot El a glare, but his turtleneck was already up and over his head. He sighed loud enough for Yggdrasil to hear and began to untie his sash.
El handed him the horse head with a smile as Faris helped him into the back end of the costume. That smile was going to be the death of him one of these days.
The parade started off well enough, Erik and El moved together as they usually did - in step, fluid. Erik warned of dips in the road and changes of direction, and El followed, trusting Erik to be his eyes.
It was hot as ever in Gallopolis, so it hadn’t taken long for both of them to be dripping in sweat. Maybe Faris had a point other than obviously trying to get El to take his clothes off.
El clung to Erik’s waist for support, arms locked like a vise. His back wobbled every now and then, but he was holding out much better than Erik would have. Maybe all that time at the forge really was doing something for him.
He’d never admit it out loud but the skin-on-skin contact was pretty nice, even if they’d both need extensive showers later. Erik was jolted out of his thoughts to El’s head bumping into his back.
“Did you just headbutt me?”
“Keep…moving.” He grunted. The weight was definitely starting to get to him. They only had a few blocks left.
They reached the end in one piece, only barely. As soon as the parade began to disperse, El’s back sunk and Faris lept off with surprising grace.
“Ha ha! What a parade! Thank you so much, friends!”
Erik tossed the horse head on the ground and stepped out of his half, turning around to help Eleven out of his. He stood up straight slowly, his back cracking in several places.
Faris eyed him over much like he did when they first met, much to Erik’s annoyance. The prince stepped closer, and Erik’s muscles tensed.
“If you require a…massage to get yourself back in order, please do not hesitate to come to the palace.” He said before backing away with a wink. His tone was far too flirtatious.
“I got it.” Erik growled between clenched teeth. He took his gloves off and shoved them in his waistband before kneading at El’s shoulders a little more forcefully than required until Faris was out of sight. He snapped back to his senses when El yelped in pain.
“Ow, Erik! Stop, jeez! What’s gotten into you?”
Erik immediately removed his hands and slid his gloves back on before replacing his tunic and sash.
“That guy creeps me out. He likes you a little too much.”
El crossed his arms and looked at Erik accusingly. “Sounds like someone is just jealous.”
Erik sputtered, unable to come up with a decent comeback. Could he have at least put his shirt back on before being a little shit?
El watched with amusement as Erik’s face turned red and he struggled to form a sentence. Flustering him was too easy, one of these days he’d get a confession out of him. For now, he was more than content with teasing him until his face matched his sash. El picked up his undershirt and coat before heading off to the bar for a well-earned drink, Erik scrambling after him.
