ok i actually can't sleep if i dont rant into the void about this so here's my thoughts: to all the people (mainly on tiktok) who complained and bitched and moaned about the changing of the deadline and the fact that they "failed" the quest-- how does it feel to be WRONG. (/j)

percy and luke have always been each others foils, always. additionally, we know that this adaptation has explored percy's love for his mom the one who raised him, over the gods- he literally says "i'm sally jackson's son" to two immortal beings, because the gods have never been there for him.

luke takes advantage of that. he tells percy the truth, because it is true, the gods don't care about them, and sees so much potential in him. he never wanted to be percy's enemy, and he likely would have succeeded in recruiting percy had percy not "failed" his quest!!

if luke had asked the percy who had never seen his father even show so much as a sign that he cared to join him right at the beginning, i wholeheartedly believe percy would've joined him. at the beginning of the story, percy hates the gods because they've never done anything for him, so why should he do anything for them?

but then, he goes on this quest, and he gets to experience the ways his father does care about him, however distant they are. poseidon saves him, tells him to go to santa monica, and even though at that point they had already "failed", he still gets help!!!

if they hadn't missed the deadline and indirectly caused an entire WAR, the gravity of poseidon stepping in to save percy again would mean nothing!! poseidon, notorious, jealous brother, immediately surrenders and begs zeus not to hurt his son. he claims percy, and makes sure zeus knows that his pride, his glory means nothing in comparison to caring for his son.

and THAT is why it they changed the deadline. if percy hadn't seen his father surrender an entire war just to protect him, he likely would've gone with luke, or at the very least, be swayed. but he saw Poseidon end a war to ensure his safety- so of course he's gonna see that they're trying their best. he saw it in hermes, too- the gods trying to make amends and right their wrongs.

i truly do think this change really drives the narrative forward, both the overarching plot AND percy and luke as foils, especially given how they have explored this adaptation. so yeah, this change was good

i don’t think the general audience realizes how MONUMENTAL it would be for mike & will to canonically get together. i don’t think they even realize how important and groundbreaking it is that will is canonically gay and in love with mike. the entire time i’ve been growing up, there have been little to no canon queer couples that were prominently featured in mainstream media. we had plenty of SHIPS, with lots of chemistry and support: merthur, stucky, johnlock, klance, reddie, destiel. (also, why are there, like, no wlw ships🥲 do better guys.) out of those, the ONLY ones with canonical feelings are reddie and destiel, and they’re done in a way that could be interpreted as platonic if you are determined enough to ignore it. also, not to mention that eddie and cas DIE?? thanks. (side note: this is another reason why killing will would be an absolutely terrible decision.) NONE of these couples are together. none of them. not only are they not together, but if you dared to say they SHOULD be together, or maybe they’d be a good couple, you got mocked. made fun of. by everyone—actors, writers, cast & crew, fans, the general public. now, we had other shows. we had glee. we had shadowhunters. we had… whatever the other ones were, because i honestly can’t think of many. we had minor pairings with 0 chemistry and 0 effort on the writers’ part. and still people say: stop making everything gay! why does everything have to be about gay couples now? can’t people just be friends?

but guys. we have been BEGGING for well thought out, romantic queer storylines for years and years and years. we have media that is specifically designed for us now: heartstopper, for example. we have tv shows and movies that are entirely centered around the queer experience—which is great! awesome! but the majority of straight people are not watching them. to have such a huge, important slow-burn romance that was well written and beautifully developed, between TWO MAIN CHARACTERS of one of the most popular shows in the world… it would be life changing. i’m not going to say it’s never been done before, because it (probably?) has, but i can think of very few examples. and yes, robin is great. i love her. but her romance with vicky is nothing to write home about, and is given, like, 3 scenes out of the whole show. on top of that, she’s a side character.

to have a queer story be front and center would be absolutely groundbreaking, as well as validating. and i, for one, would die to see it happen.💗

Merry Christmas! I'm your secret santa hehe! :D

So the prompt was: I would like some hurt or sick to comfort (I’m a sucker for those tropes). Kinda want civilian x villain/hero or villain x villain :)

While thinking of what to write for it, I thought "why choose one pair when it can be both." So I found a way to have a little dual pairing with civilian x hero and villain x villain! Hope you like it! :D

A Warm Christmas

Though Hero has many secrets, one in particular was that they were Villain's older sibling. Not many people knows about, only their family and some very close friends. It wasn't that they were ashamed, in fact, they just wanted to protect them as Villain does the same thing.

Despite working for completely opposite sides, Hero and Villain has a closely knit bond. They love each other and as siblings are, would have a lot of friendly banter, though their jobs allowed for the excuse of getting a little bit rough and physical.

And that leads to their current situation.

Hero tightly wrapped themself in a thick blanket, sitting on the couch with a scowl on their face, sniffling every once in a while. Villain laid on the floor by the couch, wrapped in a blanket as well and whining so loudly.

"I HATE THIS! I HATE THIS SO MUCH! I'M IN PAIN! IN AGONY! I'M GOING TO DIE!"

Hero gave them a light kick and groaned, "Will you be quiet already?! My head is throbbing so badly and you're not helping! Stop being so dramatic!"

"SHUT UP!" Villain slapped their foot away, "Who's fault was it that I'm sick and miserable right now?!"

"You aren't the only one that's sick and miserable!" Hero argued back, kicking them again with a little bit more force this time, "Who's bright idea was it to pick a fight in the middle of winter! AND RUN OFF TO A FROZEN LAKE!"

"We could've just chased each other off of it! But nooooo! You crave for blood and fought me on it!"

"And you're making me crave for blood right now!"

"YOU'RE THE WORST OLDER SIBLING EVER!" Villain sat up to hit Hero.

"NO! YOU'RE THE WORST YOUNGER SIBLING!" Hero climbed down the couch and tackled Villain to the floor.

"Despite being sick, you two sure are full of energy." Civilian spoke from the doorway, she held a paper bag in one hand while the other holds a present.

"CIVILIAN!!! VILLAIN IS BULLYING ME!!!" Hero struggled to break free out of Villain's grasp, a small cough leaving their throat.

"DON'T COUGH IN FRONT OF MY FACE!"

"Was that my loveable rival shouting for help?" Other Villain poked his head through the doorway beside Civilian, his signature smile plastered on his face.

"OTHER VILLAIN! WAAAAHHHH! HELP ME!" Villain kicked Hero off of them, reaching their hands out towards Other Villain who let out a gasp and rushed towards them, placing the items he held beside the couch and wrapping Villain in his arms.

"Don't worry, Cupcake! I'm here! Your prince charming is here to save you!"

Hero groaned loudly, flinging a throw pillow at the pair who merely gasped and whined in tandem. Having those two together in one room is the worst thing ever and Hero was already miserable from their sickness.

Civilian giggled as she approached Hero, "Come on Hero, 'tis the season to be jolly!"

Hero pouted and reached an arm out towards her, "Not when I'm sick..."

"Aww, does my knight in shining armor want a little kiss to make everything feel better?"

Though their face was already hot from the fever, they felt it get warmer, tainting it with a light red as they averted their gaze. "Sure..." They quietly said.

Civilian gave them a soft kiss on their forehead and gently stroked their hair. "Merry Christmas."

Civilian and Other Villain busied themselves around Hero and Villain's house. Preparing the food and decorating the living room while the two sat in the couch and watch everything happen around them. There wasn't much to decorate though as they already did it before they got sick.

From time to time, Civilian would stop by Hero to give them a peck on the cheek, giving them hot cocoa, a few headpats, and even feeding them some cookies.

Villain would reach out and tug at Other Villain's shirt whenever he came close and Other Villain would always put down everything that he was holding and coddle Villain. Hugging them close to his chest, patting their head and back, peppering soft kisses on all over their face while whispering words of endearment.

It became a little routine for the two.

By the time they were finished preparing, a large pillow fort was set up in the center of the living room just close by the Christmas tree, several presents lining the bottom of it as colourful lights circled its leaves. The sound of music box versions of Christmas songs playing softly in the background.

Hero and Villain sat inside the fort with their partners, leaning onto their shoulders. Other Villain holding Villain close to him while Civilian has her arm around Hero's waist as she gently carded her fingers through their hair. The huge handmade blanket that Civilian and Other Villain worked on wraps around all four of them, though it isn't a good idea as surely the two would be bickering again soon but for the short amount of peace, it was quite worth it.

last song: Come Hang Out by AJR off the top of my head by my tabs say Providence by Poor Mans Poison . Come Hang Out feels so nostalgic to me even if i only listened to it recently reminds me of a graduation song (it came out 5 yrs ago so it makes sense. I just really love Poor Mans Poison's vibes generally great fuel for daydream and also matches well with the feeling of revolution (and seeing everything collapse i guess.) (ish) mentally listening to Your Love is All I Need by Sami Yusuf tho at all times lately, probs because i have been trying to wean myself off listening to music for like the 50th time. (its slow going but IM GONNA TRY inshaallah ill be able to do it) (he also took the old nasheed music video off his channel? sad its so good)

currently watching: does d20 mentopolis count? only watched one ep but its good. i havent watched anything regularly besides like school vids for a bit. tried watching the dragon prince s5 when it came out but buffering (the video player i mean) and dissatisfaction at the pacing and characterization kinda stopped me. ill back on it at the end of the yr when everything is settled. if we are talking about podcasts started relistening to wolf 359 and keeping up with the greater gatsby (the latter has SUBLIME noir vibes as it is a noir i bloody love shipwreck's work it scratches that itch in my brain so well) . i may have seen spoilers for wolf 359 so i am anxiously waiting to see if i am proved wrong but im on s4 so its soon prepare for a barrage of reblogs for it. watched s4 of malory towers it was very nice i cant wait for s5 - the pantomime hopefully we get new members for the older years next season i miss the larger cast

currently reading: not much really. fanfic alot. i guess. caught up to the end of the To Make a Legend series on ao3 (pjo) and other fics for a couple of other fandoms (in one false move by Kalidium is really good if your into murder most unladylike - spoilers for A Spoonful of Murder though) also been reading barbie 2023 fanfic? was bored and started hunting for good ones (slim picking at the moments but if you want character study and grief and some bloody good writing def read something in me in you by telm_393 i cant explain it its that good) also reread My Memories Came Back in the Form of Someone Else by Lucy_Luna yes its that really good spiderverse fanfic do check it out

BESIDES THAT THO in terms of actual books. have the audiobook saved for The Valley and The Flood so gonna listen to that later. Have to read The Hate Race for class (not my fave but i need for analysis ive read it like 3 times but I STILL DONT REMEMBER ANYTHING) .

started rereading The Ballad Of Songbirds and Snakes a couple of weeks ago ahead of the movie coming out at the end of this year but never got the chance to finish it so ill have to get on that too.

also dracula ive been reading as well but more on that the next section.

current obsession: re:dracula is the first that comes to mind im so bloody invested in jonathan's wellbeing and his relationship wiht mina and the whole story its insane . i should read more older books its good . re;dracula DOES SUCH A GOOD JOB AT SUCKING YOU INTO THE STORY THE VOICE ACTORS REALLY MADE IT FOR ME i just cant with ti it makes me so bloody happy!! Renfield's voice actor is a standout for me everytime he's there i just have to pause and stare at a wall. also jonathan's actor as well hes SO GOOD i was geniunly worried about jonathan not sending me voicemails into my phone i was THAT endeared to him

besides that PLAY IT BY EAR the musical improv show by dropout is also a obsession of mine i cannot with their talent. the MUSIC so good i want to play it all the bloody time . i am in absolute awe in the performers ability to create a story and TIE IT ALL TOGHETER SO WELL like every piece of information is used whether you expect it or not . DN THE BAND OH GOD I DONT KNOW HOW THEY SO IT THE MUSIC IS SO FUN AND CREATIVE AND FITS THE MOOD AND MADE UP ON THE SPOT???!!! HOW I DONT KNOW (if u ask me who my favourite guest star is at the moment its ross byant hes an absolute delight whenever he is on a d20 show- the improvised shakespear episode blew my mind)

I really need you as a full grown white adult to analyze why you think a character that hates black people is fun to ship at all. Like I could just make fun of you but just think with your little peanut baby brain for five seconds WHY you think it's okay to "go deeper" on an abusive racist's character at all. Lol

i mean, i shouldn't give you the benefit of a response because you've been rude but i will.

before reading: abuse is never an excuse to be a bad person, but it does help to explain why people act in certain ways. tldr: i could talk about this for hours but at the end of the day if a non-white person says "he's a racist" then i say okay and i won't argue with you,

but as you've asked for me to analyse it i will. the second his dad hit him, i got it. if you've been in that situation or a similar one, you get it in that second. does it excuse any of the shit billy did? no. but does his character suddenly have more depth? yes. so that's why it's okay to "go deeper", because the duffers made him deeper. sorry, complain to them for making a character with an abusive homelife. because the way i see billy is that he's been raised with abusively strict rules, to respect his dad's wishes. he has to do everything by the way his dad lives. dacre said he didn't see billy as racist and didn't play him as such, and though the duffers have said contradicting things (they've said both he is AND he isn't), they removed all of the racial slurs. but the implication in those scenes with lucas is that he is racist, yeah i'm not denying that.

because then you see the scene where billy's dad abuses him. and for people who've been through shit like that it clicks. i'm not saying abuse is an excuse to be racist and i'm not saying i want everyone to love the guy, hell i don't love the guy all the time, but i understand him. at the end of the series, billy doesn't give a fuck that max is going to the snowball with her black boyfriend - he knows she'll see lucas there and he doesn't say a word cos he doesn't care, because max has already made it very fucking clear that she's tough and she can handle it. but at the start of the series, when the pressure from his dad is high, he does care cos he's selfish as fuck and he's scared, and if his dad finds out that billy is letting max hang out with a black boy, he'll lose it.

that's how i see billy. is he a cunt? yeah. but he is a cunt because he's been abused, and that makes sense to me. being abused is never an excuse to do bad shit but the character is seventeen and no one's ever intervened, and that's where the fics and the shipping comes in. we don't write the billy direct from the show, we write billy as if someone had intervened. a billy that gets called out for his attitudes, a billy that realises the way things are is wrong, a billy that realises an apology will never be enough: an au billy. and i've done shit (nowhere near as bad as he has) that i had been raised to think was right, that has been ingrained in me from shitty parenting, and it's only in adulthood when someone sat me down and called me out on it that i learned. and mate i'm not sitting here stanning the guy who beat up black kids - i'm stanning the character potential. they could've given this abused angry kid background to robin and she'd have been the one i stanned. hell, if they'd developed johnathan a bit more, i'd be over there in byers-ville.

and abuse isn't an excuse to be racist, no fucking way, but does it explain/shed a light on why he's acting a certain way? yeah. but again, i'm not going to sit and tell you that he's not racist because if you see him as racist, then you have every right to and i'm not gonna convince you otherwise. i just think that the billy you see vs the billy we/dacre see is different.

if you ever read a harringrove fic, chances are the first thing they write him doing is apologising, leaving his abusive dad and explaining this shit. we're not writing and headcanoning an abusive racist billy, we're not sitting around rejoicing in him being racist. that's not the billy we see. we've basically made up our own billy, because the billy in the show is a dick, but the potential future billy could've been less so. and that's the truth.

what is your gym routine if you don’t mind answering?

ahh omg first thing i should say is like i'm not really consistent w going to the gym bc my job hours are very poopy but also i'm very gym shy and when i go to the gym i go with my cousin and she acts like my pt kinda but i'm slowly transitioning to going by myself. also i just recovered from covid so it's been a week since i've last been to the gym.

i definitely recommend looking up workouts on tiktok and ig. read the comments as well because you might watch someone do a workout thinking it looks easy but their form might be completely wrong so yeah. one person my cousin and i use on ig is dianaconforti.fit

but for my routines i usually just do 4-5 sets and 8-12 reps of each depending on the weights i also use. for my back, last time i did it, i did 4 sets of 10 lat pull downs. i did 10kg for the first set n it felt too easy so i went up to 15kg and it almost killed me so i went back to 10kg for the third and went up to 15kg for the last set but just did 8 reps. and then single arm cable rows, 10kg on each arm and 4 sets but 2 on each arm with 10 reps. and i would've kept going with proper cable rows but i wanted to get out of the gym bc more were more people were coming. but this time i wanna finish that whole set with pull ups (2 sets of as many reps as possible [amrap]).

a really good full body workout that i like is kettlebell swings and i usually do 2 sets of amrap and i usually use 20kg to give myself a challenge. for arms, i stick with dumb bell exercises, i can't remember the names of them but you can easily find tiktoks for arm workout ideas. just remember if you're trying to make your arm not as muscly, don't use heavier weights. the lighter ones are the ones to go with if you just want tone them or make them leaner.

and omg my favourite workouts are for sure legs/glutes. rdls, squats, hip thrusts are the ones i love doing the most. bc it's the most painful workout for me so the masochist in me loves it. if you're a beginner, rdls can be really tricky so i recommend watching tons of videos to see how to do it properly and then practice your form in the mirror in your own room. for me what i remember is to start with my hips and push it out. and then i bend my knees just a bit as my back starts going down. keep your back straight as you do and idk when you look at the form in the mirror just remember how every part of your body feels like muscle memory works for me. i usually do 4 sets as well and just 10 reps with 8kg weights. with hip thrusts, my gym has a hip thrust machine so i thankfully don't have to use those huge weights but i usually go 10-15kg weights on both sides. i follow the 999 workout where it's 9 hip thrusts, 9 kas glute bridges and then a 9 second hold and it kills my glutes so bad omg.

take everything i've said w a grain of salt, i get a lot of gym tiktoks and thats where all my knowledge has come from, if not from my cousin. i'm also going to start finishing my workouts off with 25 minutes on the stair master on level 6 to get rid of my back fat and also the cardio helps lose fat overall. also, 'helps' assuming you're also on a calorie deficit diet but i don't count the calories i eat bc i quite frankly can't be bothered and i like eating foods that i know probably fills up what should be a healthy calorie intake in a day. but yeah idk i just do what i want to do but i'm also forcing myself to be more proactive to better myself :)

like... i really feel like it's important to highlight that bc not only do they obviously have no respect for their audience, but that statement shows they have no respect for their peers in the industry, either.

not to mention it is a shining example of bleeding arrogance to such a high degree, you will straight up fucking lie bc you're truly convinced you're that special when you're anything but.

there's been NUMEROUS online creators who were recognized by entertainment industry workers BECAUSE they made tv quality content & even full stop blockbuster quality content.

bo burnham started on youtube & is now one of the most wellknown & loved standup comedians of our generation, with numerous netflix specials & even a movie he wrote & directed under his belt.

the try guys, fellow ex-buzzfeed employees, had their own tv specials on food network (based off their youtube shows, btw) & a documentary made about them as well

rosanna pansino has also been on numerous food network shows both as a host & a judge

quinta brunsun, another fellow ex-buzzfeed employee, went on to create her own whole ass sitcom that has been highly praised

matpat cameo'd in the fnaf movie because of his theories & multiple other fnaf creators had small cameos through the employee of the month board easter egg

markiplier made multiple high-quality shows on youtube & is now working on a highly anticipated movie (he was also planned to cameo in the fnaf movie but couldn't due to conflicting schedules with his own movie)

hot ones got their own tv gameshow due to their popularity & they are still one of the most wellknown, beloved & respected internet shows

many short films made on youtube went on to premiere at film festivals & even in theaters

the hit horror film "talk to me" was created by youtubers rackaracka

webseries of actual fucking tv shows have also existed for literal decades

the list goes on.

to seriously think that overproduced bullshit is all you need to make "tv quality content" is not only tone-deaf, but shows they do not even know what they're talking about. many tv shows & huge blockbuster movies are made with absolutely microscopic budgets & small teams, & they still get praised & awarded for the passion, dedication, & creativity that shined brightly under those restrictions.

the blair witch project is probably the most wellknown & highly praised example of this, but it is far from the Only example

it is a whole other slap in the face, again ESPECIALLY when puppet history is one of their most popular shows, to spit in the face of internet history. to see the success of their predecessors, even ppl they fucking worked with at buzzfeed, & deny them of all their success & efforts to get where they ended up.

no, y'all are not the first people to make "tv quality content" on the internet. FAR from it. because your crap isn't even genuine "tv quality".

but you are the first ones to ever disrespect not only your audience, but your own fucking industry & your peers on this level.

& you are the first & i sorely hope the only fuckwads dumb enough to pull a stunt this fucking stupid, out of touch & utterly tone deaf.

Got a bit out of hand with the prompt XD I ended up doing a scene inspired by this fic! Based on that time Marcille Izutsumi and Chilchuck were sharing a bed in chapter 47. It felt very memorable so I tried to recreate it but I kind of went offscript because I was basing it on my recollection of the fic lmao

^Obsessed with this guy and how he lets Izutsumi use him like a hot water bottle bc it's comfier.

I think he'd hardly ever act this soft + tolerant of physical affection unless it's situations like this: When the others are too sleepy to remember it LOL
