Happy Simblr Gratitude Day!!

There's so many amazing people that I follow, and I know I can never name them all, so if you don't get mentioned on this list, PLEASE don't feel bad. I know for a fact that I'm going to miss some incredible people.

@simlit - possibly the best "bachelor challenge" to ever exist. An incredible story with compelling characters, excellent writing, and stunning visuals. I binge-read all of COTS in one day, and whenever it updates, it's the highlight of my day.

@simgerale - Miranda is so incredibly talented. She makes the most beautiful sims, and her story Regal that just finished recently might just be my favorite story anyone has ever posted on tumblr. I've been following it since more or less day one. Also her legacy family is ADORABLE.

@softpine - the last of my top 3 stories on simblr. Everything Brandi writes is so incredibly detailed and filled with so much love. There is so much nuance and detail that goes into all of her posts, and all of her characters are delightfully complex. I binge-read the entirety of Camellia over two days, and it was a DELIGHTFUL experience.

@potionio - Omen makes some of the most amazing sims I've ever seen. Everything they make is GORGEOUS, from sims to builds to edits. Amazing alt fashion and spooky vibes all around. Also just an awesome friend.

@panicsimss - another amazing spooky simmer. Panic has gorgeous OCs, and I love everything she makes. Poppy and Hudson have my heart!!

@salemssimblr - Ash makes incredible renders, and is also just very kind. She's an awesome friend, and I'm so glad to have met them!!

@goldenwaves - Izzy is another incredible render-maker and editor. They also are the creator of some of the most fun and interesting dnd ocs I've ever had the pleasure of playing with and hearing about. Plus, her new story Heartbreakers is super awesome!!

@wileyfern - They post adorable gameplay, and their legacy family has been going strong for a long time now. Her current heir, Ocean, is super fun to follow!

@void-critters - Jay makes amazing edits and has some amazing dnd ocs that I love hearing about. They're also super kind and a great friend.

@warwickroyals - Ayanna's story is one of the only royal simblr stories I really follow very closely on here, and for good reason!! The level of nuance and commentary that goes into her story is very special. If you're going to follow a royal simblr, let it be this one!! Plus some very cool cc!!

@heartblobs - A very lovely historical simmer who just recently started a new decades challenge!! Ellie's current family is super cute, and I can't wait to see them grow!

@wildmelon - Lush makes some of the most gorgeous sims I've ever seen, as well as amazing edits!!! Also a critical role fan, which makes me happy.

@rebouks - Somnium very quickly became one of my favorite stories on simblr, and now Forever In Between is following in the foorsteps! Becca has adorable sims, and blends an excellent mix of gameplay and storytelling. She's also an INCREDIBLE pose maker.

@ghostputty - Ky makes INCREDIBLE edits, including those very famous eye edits. Also, their story, Deck of Fate, is fascinating, and I can't wait to read more!!

@raiiny-bay - Rai makes amazing renders, and their Monster Boys universe and lore is FASCINATING. I could read about the zombie boys for hours!

@arcanewonder - Sara's renders are on a whole 'nother level. Truly nothing compares. The fantasy vibes are immaculate! Plus, her simblreen treats from years past have saved my ass in decorating the castle for RTQ/ATQH.

@barbieaiden - Sam makes some of the most awesome renders I've ever seen, not to mention his stunning story and intriguing OCs. I love Sam and Aiden, am morbidly fascinated with Tristan and Kas, and am eagerly awaiting the day I get to hear about his pirate OCs.

@rainymoodlet - Shan's sims are all GORGEOUS, but Dan is truly the best of them all. Dan's bachelor challenge, KMIK, is amazing, and even though my boy may be out of the running, I'm very invested to see who ends up stealing Dan's heart.

@samssims - Sam is a pillar in this community. Her NSB family captured my heart right away, and her unique method of storytelling is so cool. Not to mention her poses, which are a must-have!

@laeska - Makes some of the best hairs in the community, and all totally free!! Her simblreen gifts this year were amazing, and I have all of her cc in my game.

@retro-plasma - Corn's sims are beautiful, and their gameplay posts are stunning! They truly have a talent for making things come alive!

@omgkayplays - A truly incredible simblr. Stunning builds, mindboggling edits, drop-dead-gorgeous sims, and a fascinating story are all reasons to give Kay a follow.

@seaslugsims - Their story is awesome, their cc is amazing and very useful, plus they're super kind and amazing!!!

@simandy - Ellen is literally the first simblr I followed, back when I joined this hellsite 5+ years ago. Her cc is amazing, and absolutely a must-have in my game.

I know I've missed people, but I think I've hit my limit on tagging people. Either that or tumblr's just throwing a fit at how long this post is. Either way, each and every person I follow deserves a spot on this list, so don't feel bad at all if I missed you!!! I follow over 400 people, all of whom are amazing.

3rd floor is the Golden Castle that is now in ruins

there are toilets in the busy areas of the dungeon, scattered around

skeletons of former castle residents roam the halls LMFAO look at this dude

most monsters on 3rd floor are bones or decayed so there aren't many you can eat but

GOLEMS ARE HERE IT'S THE GOLEM GARDEN EPISODE lmfaoooo love it

Senshi uses golems as a garden bc they've got perfect conditions to grow food

he kills them by hitting their core so that they can harvest veggies

it's against the law to activate magical creatures without permission (Senshi plants Golems without permission lmfao)

you can revive them by replanting them

side note: I really find it interesting how death is not as big of a deal in this universe. It's not like they don't care at all, but there doesn't seem to be question of "is it really the same person/creature"? maybe it's just me, but I feel like I'd worry about that a lot if I lived in their world.

turns out Senshi gets his fertiliser by cleaning the toilets on this floor oops (Marcille is NOT happy about that lol)

another great quote from Senshi, this whole part is awesome. he's basically saying that if he stops cleaning the toilets and tending to the Golems, the whole dungeon will change because the monsters from lower floors will come up to take the place of the Golems etc. It's a delicate ecosystem and everyone plays a part, which is why hunting and eating monsters and giving back to the dungeon is important for maintaining balance. I love it 10/10 lore and world building

Senshi used the veggies to barter with some customers on the lower levels but they probably won't have time for them rn

there are merchants in the dungeon and it seems kinda hush hush secret club vibes but they get in (and then almost get thrown out bc they brought veggies to trade with a bunch of criminals ig lol)

oh the orcs are here! I forgot about them (btw they're Senshi's "customers from lower floors"), anyway they kill everyone but Senshi & friends

the red dragon has been showing up near their settlement so they had to run to hide on the 3rd floor

LMFAO they steal their veggies and Senshi asks if they can stay in their camp so

orcs think elves look "barbaric" which is also a really nice touch

HAHAHAH I forgot gilrfailure and the orc arguing while Senshi is happily making bread

anyway, bad blood between Orcs and Elves, they each have their own version of the events that paints the other side as the worse one (another nice, realistic touch of world building)

the orc mentions the whole "defeat evil magician, get castle/dungeon" thing and asks Laios what he'll do when he gets it (which he hasn't thought about)

having just watched the Rundown Job. that fucked. I feel like this is what it would be like if the Big Bang Job had just an iota more self respect. for some reason BBJ is just toooooo corny I can't take it seriously, smth about eliot trying to have his emo backstory and big gun fight in one episode, but hardison and his magic Hacker Overlay and the trio drift compatible action movie-ing thru without a mastermind had me by the THROAT

the rundown job is THE ot3 episode. whether you prefer parker/hardison/eliot, or parker/hardison & eliot, or any other formation of those three, they certainly undeniably work very well together. they move in sync. they know each other so well that they don't even have to talk half the time. they've developed so much trust for each other when you compare this episode to season 1 jobs, and that mutual trust has brought all of their already-incredible talents to a new level.

you'll find that the leverage producers/writers/etc call it "competence porn", ie having scenes of the characters being extremely competent at what they do. it's fascinating and awesome just to watch them, don't even need much dialogue or plot pressure or anything. and that's really a testament to the actors' acting abilities & the stunt performers' skills.

plus we get all of their paired dynamics too! i love the parker & eliot dynamic where they’re both very task-oriented, logical, dangerous people. in the lost heir job episode commentary, john rogers had this to say...

...which i love. i love that dynamic, and you can see it in the rundown job too. except the lost heir job was season 2, and the rundown job is season 5, and that makes a difference in some respects - they're not so much hiding that from hardison, for one thing. and hardison doesn't need them to hide it, cause he seems to mostly think they're super fucking cool. except for when they're scaring the shit out of him, like parker burning the disease at the last second or eliot getting shot etc etc. mostly he thinks they're super cool though lol.

and while i tend to think that the "seeing math in the air" thing is usually a cheesy trope (like the spencer reid version. why is jesus there), i honestly really liked seeing inside hardison's head for once. it wasn't just random numbers like the confused math lady meme:

no, he's mapping the whole thing out in his head: we see some if-then-else flowcharts, he's picturing the direction the gears will turn, etc etc. he's figuring out how it will logically work and how it will mechanically work. to figure out all these problems in his mind, which he does every episode... well, he really is a genius, never forget it!

plus of course we get parker showing off her skills by jumping on trains + laser gymnastics + upside-down bomb defusing, and we get eliot skills of disturbingly calm negotiations + of course the fight scenes. they've each come such a long way too... eg hardison being way calmer about leaning on a bomb (again!) lol... ugh i could rant forever about how much i love these characters!!

i think the big bang job's gun fight is part of the eliot angsty stuff cause he had to shoot (and therefore likely kill) people for the first time in a long time. for action movie enjoyers, The Implications TM certainly dampen the action fun, so i get what you mean. i don't mind eliot angsty moments though. eliot IS kinda emo deep down sometimes - however, if hardison or someone called him that, there'd be hell to pay lol.

i said this before but the Order you see in the dlc is in my AU as a type of malware that marina created for herself. she encrypts it into the personal software she uses as an attempt to. self destruct (off) herself. but (Un)fortunately it didn't work. she's just stuck forever wallowing in her own grief

the memverse in my AU is where marina puts everyone she has under her mind control thingy. they're all hooked into the same memverse, marina has her own that she messes with to see the possible consequences of every action she does and. stuff.

and i also said this on my alt twt acc but in the Normal Side Order(...??) my agent 4 turns into parallel canon either voluntarily or unvoluntarily. and since there's others with him i decided to make them robotic clones of 8 and cap3. and they only serve to mock agent 8 and what little they remember of their lovers and themself, a materialized deteriorating memory

tbh i was more focused on the theme of side order instead of dedf1sh stuck in the elevator with two lesbians that would do the unthinkable if they weren't there

i loved all the bosses.........marina and parallel are my favs....also rondo. That thing's so horrifying i love it. when i saw it i was like "what kind of panopticon shit is this....." and was absolutely THRILLED! to see that it was actually based on a panopticon as well as the floor level (0ct0ptic0n)

and these album covers??????they're so fucking AWESOMEEEEeee i love the album art of splatoon. when i saw all the stuff in alterna i was so amazed. the gear is so awesome too i wish i played splatoon. i'd grind the shit out of side order tbh......smollusk is so cute the. Awwww awww

Idk if this is your vibe but with the whole 'Diasomnia takes shovel talk to a whole new level' thing going on with Ace I can't help but wonder how absolutely hilariously baffling the potential of the poly first year squad balongside that would be.

I like this ship mainly because I think it'd be funny if they all dated one-another and just. Didn't say anything. Stuff like 'Vil and Rook wonder why they saw their son Epel kiss ace on the lips even though he was on what was very obviously a romantic walk with Deuce a few days ago' and whatnot happening with all the first years' seniors

(A few of them piece it together and are like 'good for them' and don't tell anyone for whatever reason but mainly because I think it's funny)

BUT anyway back on track I can't help but wonder how Lilia, Silver, and Malleus would be in all of their overprotective glory. Like, Sebek dating Ace? They hate that - but would they be less or more enthused about the additional 'but wait, there's more'. Moment where Sebek introduces the rest of his boyfriends

Again, idk if it's your vibe, but I think it's funny to think about. Abdhsvs have a nice day, keep being awesome, stay hydrated 👍 (⁠~⁠‾⁠▿⁠‾⁠)⁠~

DUDE...just finding out that Sebek has a boyfriend in the first place makes Dia 3 go into a FRENZY. And the thing is, the freshmen mean well in their own right. In fact, if they were INDIVIDUAL, I have a feeling that Dia 3 would be able to accept them, others quicker than most. But having them TOGETHER as a GROUP already spells CHAOS.

Again. The freshmen have their good qualities. They care for each other and love each other. But as a GROUP??? They encourage each other's shenanigans. Their good qualities are immediately overtaken by the fact that they are teenagers and that they mostly get in trouble. And knowing SEBEK, who is (mostly) a rule-abiding guy, mingling with a group like the first years will send Dia 3 to an early grave.

It's great that Sebek is making friends with them!!! They love that. But it's the fact they always get him involved in their schemes. And it sonly a matter of time before they start rubbing off of Sebek, and getting in trouble will start becoming a daily occurence to him. The first time they were called by one of the professors because Sebek APPARENTLY blew up a classroom with one of the first years while trying to make a potion PAST CURFEW made Lilia faint. THEY DIDNT EVEN KNOW HE WASNT IN THE DORM???? HOW DID HE SNEAK OFF (it's very easy.)

Dia 3 do not like Ace as a romantic interest, let's establish that first. But the whole FIRST YEAR GANG as romantic interests??? Theyre STRESSING. They cant tell whats better or worse (its worse for them) (better for Sebek). They have to constantly keep tabs on Sebek AND the other first years to make sure theyre not dragging Sebek into their little "hang outs" which end with the whole gorup getting detention.

The others do get confused at first. They're cheating on each other,,,with EACH OTHER??? (They havenever heard of polygamy) (Half of the first years didnt either) (Ace, Sebek, and Yuu rectified that).

The only people who knew were Riddle (GOSSIP QUEEN 🗣️🔥🔥🔥), Rook (He's Rook.), and Idia (You know that one post where op finds out they feel left out in their friend group because it turns out they were all dating each other??? Ortho reporting that to Idia 💀)(The first years make sure not to leave out Ortho when they hang out after that).

How would you rate Minato's Sekirei group? From your least favorite to favorite.

Okay, let it be known I like all the characters in Sekirei really as they're all cool and/or funny, but from least favorite to most favorite it's:

No. 108 Kusano

Nothing against Kuu-chan, but she's also just a kid essentially. A kid that's basically in a battle royal. She is really pure, funny, and adorable, but also she's again just a kid. And after seeing her almost be forced to awaken by that creep Mikogami Hayato, I'm just always like "Just leave her out of this and let her be happy!"

No. 02 Matsu

I can't get over how I found her to be a little weird or creepy when she was first introduced and she struck me as obsessive when I first saw her interact with Minato. Though it is cool how she's such a different type of Sekirei compared to all the others in the show, sticking to computers and strategy only.

No. 88 Musubi

A good first introduction girl to the Sekirei universe! She's very cute and so sweet, but also a little ditzy/naive and that does add to her cheery, cute character, but I could also see that getting a little frustrating.

No. 06 Homura

I thought that they were really cool and I liked their fire power. It was also confusing as heck trying to figure out what their deal was when I first watched Sekirei as a kid. I had no idea if they were a guy or actually a girl (I blame there being a lot of 'traps' in the anime I was watching at the time for that). Now I know he's a guy in a girl's body I guess? Or rather, his body, like his powers was, unstable and slowly feminized into a female body, but also can change their gender after they're winged by Minato? I still don't fully understand it, but I still think they're cool and I like how strong they are. Also, being a protector of other 'unwinged' Sekirei was really awesome.

No. 09 Tsukiumi

In a wave of utter sexiness, she takes the term "traditional woman" to a whole new level haha. I love her outfit and also her hair style! I'll admit, the way she talks can be a little awkward and weird at first, but I also find it cute and endearing! She seems like she'd make an amazing wife!

No. 03 Kazehana

I mean.... come on. I mean.... COME ON! She's amazing! She's so strong, confident, funny, and oh so sexy! This shouldn't be a surprise given how much I love Anko Mitarashi from Naruto. She was also the first woman I saw do the naked apron cliche in anime, so there's that to add to me favoriting her more than all the others haha.

No way carol finally putting lore of these idiots on tumblr, lmao sometimes i forget i talked about them mainly just on instagram.

As i mentioned in a previous post, these girls are two separate entities that got bound together by the powers of the duo gem. Which is essentially a synthetic parasite created by the Chess kingdom during the grand war, the goal was to create an actifact that could fuse two warrioes together, leading to the creation of a new, stronger soldier. But because of the war and the struggles that come with it this level was never achived in the creation of these gemstones, majority of them was destroyed by attacks from the Canopy kingdom and the remaining few were hidden by its creators.

Naturally, there are curious people who would pay a fortune to get their hands on these relics, and that's exactly what Mariana was hired to do; find the duo gemstone and bring it to the buyers.

The thing is, she didn't know about the expreimental, and rather unstable, nature of the gemstone. She just new that it was this big shiny thing she was sent after, so Mari went about it as usual and before she knew it she had been sucked inside the actifact and was now locked in this small red room with sparkling walls.

On the oustide world, the gem attached itself to the back of her jacket and stayed like that for almost a whole year until this jacket was purchased by Dagger after ending up in some street market.

Dagger who at this point in time was fresh out of the Silent stalkers, the criminal organization responsible for training ninja assasins for hire that she had been taken into after becoming an orphan during the Grand war. So she wasn't doing much with her life and was sorta just sulking around without purpose or much will to do anything.

So she brought the jacket and it was when she put it on that the gemstone ripped through it and attached itself to her back (Dagger's spine to be more specific), it was only then that Mariana was able to come out of it, in that trage shadowy form, permanently attached to the other girl's back.

So yeah, not the best conditions.

They're not on good terms at all at the start, with Dagger constantly complaining and being bothered about the situation which angers Mariana a whole lot and they end up arguing most of the time + she's generally very angry/distressed over losing her body and being stuck to Dagger, who at that point she saw as nothing but a good for nothing lazy bitch.

It's after a little while that she finds out about Dagger's past of being a trained assasin and all (Dagger herself told her, she shares information very easily without much thought) and that's when Mariana has an idea of how to get herself out of this mess; She'll manipulate Dagger into going after the skullheart so that she can snatch it and wish to have her body back.

So Mariana gathers her old gear and insists that she does have talent when it comes to fighting and shouldn't give up on it, she fixes Dagger's old uniform, gets her back into training by sparring in their apartment, and then tells her that if they were able to fight and defeat the skullgirls they could bring the skullheart back to the Silent stalker's base which would show them just how strong Dagger is, after all, killing a skullgirl is no easy feat.

Dagger finds the idea awesome and gets totally on board with hunting down the skullgirl. Being unaware of Mariana's ulterior motives, she wholeheartedly trust her and pretty much adores her, she sees her as the first person in years who actually put faith in her and a real friend! It's this love from Dagger's part that leads to them developing a real friendship, with Mariana genuinely carring for someone other than her for once.

Will she be able to go through with her plans involving the skullheart?

I finished the 87 series as a whole (except the European vacay season like I can't find it anywhere) and want to cry!!! My boys!!! I can't believe it's done!!!

What an awesome show. I might have to rewatch it just to write down more notes and thoughts. ;)

Anyways here's some headcanons about my sweet 87 boys and some show observations:

Hopefully with this people might give the show a chance. It's so delightful and charming. You won't be disappointed.

The turtles are all basically 3-4 years old. They make tons of comments about living half their lives in a fish bowl and when Yoshi comes across them they're still babies. When they're shown mutating, they go from baby turtles to the older bipedal forms we know them by.

They're all identical sans their voices. (In the 87 show not only does April have trouble telling them apart at the beginning but so do the animators in every episode)

They all seem to possess super strength and some levels of invulnerability. Donatello in particular had a multiple story brick building dropped on him, which he just walked off. They've all shown varying skills such as bending metal with their bare hands. Raphael as a practical joke in one episode picks up a couch and hurls it at Donatello just to be smartass. Leonardo cuts metal like tinfoil.

They still think of themselves as turtles first and foremost, so they don't refer to each other as brothers. (despite the fact they're totally brothers) and simply address each other as friends. (They're brothers tho we all know the truth 💕)

Something not explained in the opening of the 3rd season, the turtles as babies, before they mutate, are shown with different shell patterns. While it's not obvious which turtle is which it is neat the artists went out of their way to animate each turtle with a unique pattern.

When you watch the show the amount of people and mutants that dislike the turtles is shocking. For a fun kids show made in the late 80's to mid 90's, it's basically a huge allegory to the civil rights movements and you can even take relevance to human rights movements of today.

Despite being so lovable they have only a small circle of friends. Most of those friends at some point have betrayed them too.

The boys have seen two different futures of themselves. (not counting their shared apocalypse nightmares) The first future is where they get old together in a mansion and they're heralded as heroes and everyone likes them. The second future doesn't show them but in the second future it's stated being a mutant is a crime punishable by death and all mutants are criminals regardless of deeds. This is before the red skies studio era of writing. That's before it's supposed to get edgy.

They all are highly intelligent. They can each pilot every vehicle ever present in the show despite none of them having a formal education, license, or understanding of the rules of the road. Michelangelo in particular seems to have a knack for US fighter jets.

In season 7 episode 11, titled "Dirk Savage: Mutant Hunter!" We meet two new mutants named Rahzar and Tokka. They're a gay couple. You don't believe me? Go watch the episode. I'm not pulling your leg. I swear. I promise. It's a good episode go watch it.

Master Splinter calls them his sons. He also calls Carter, his newest student, son occasionally too. It's his term of endearment.

The turtles in this version are known to get sick pretty regularly. (probably because of their still developing immune systems). They always get sick as a group and they totally soak up the pampering.

They in the first season share a 4 stack bunk bed and then after the bunk is destroyed in the season 1 finale they each get their own alcoves which they treat as their own rooms.

I didn't remember which Punk Frog said it, but one of them called Leonard and Michelangelo his Bubba which is a term of endearment for brother. The punk frogs call each other bubba too. So unlike the turtles they were either all frog brothers who mutated together or after mutating they just decided they're brothers and they also adopted the turtles as their brothers too.

Mondo Gecko seems older in this series because of his appearance but he's the same age as the turtles and actually mutated from the same ooze as them on the same day at the same time so he in 87 is like a mix of their brother and cousin? He's related regardless. (We all know the truth in our hearts)

Shredder and Krang act like a married couple who've been married too long and are on the cusp of a divorce but they've been together too long so they just keep tolerating eachother.

They all love the unhinged gross unholy pizza combos. Michaelangelo's stated combos are actually tame compared to some of the things they've eaten. One episode the boys committed to the bit so hard they ate lit candles just to mess with Michelangelo. They get pregnant sardine fudge pizza cravings at midnight. They put cereal on regular pizza for breakfast. They hate vegetables though. They literally gag when Splinter eats sushi. They refuse to eat bugs despite their turtle origins (interesting enough the Punk Frogs don't even like pizza at all first unlike them) but like they will eat out of the garbage. But not fresh handmade sushi.

They're so casual about being in public. Like they have disguises but sometimes they just go out in public as themselves. They also have so many elaborate disguises. In the first episode their first instinct to blend in was to throw on bright neon shoes, various bomber jackets, and start publicly beatboxing and breakdancing.

The turtles get called slurs by Shredder, Bebop, and Rocksteady. The slur in question is "Shellback" . When Donatello makes an evil clone the first thing the clone does is call him that slur. It's so funny like that's yourself. Donatello basically called himself ugly. Why is that so funny.

Shredders go to threat in the show and many other villains go to insult is to straight up threaten to eat them. Like, do none of the villains care about getting salmonella? Why do all the villains want to eat them?

Something I've noticed, they refuse to use nicknames. They only use each other's full names. It makes me wonder why? I theorize it's probably to do with the fact Master Splinter gave them their names and that's the first thing they received? It's not like they're not playful enough to use nicknames.

Despite his fatherly role in their lives, the turtle boys don't call Splinter their father and this is more than likely to do with the fact they see themselves as turtles and know they have turtle parents. (Again we know the truth)

April in this show is an adrenaline junky. She's also a child endangerer. She's helped save the day a lot but she would much rather the world burn so she can film it as her next big scoop.

The boys treat April like their mom in this show. April herself doesn't really get that. In one episode she got poison flowers and thought it was from the boys and went to "let them down gently" because she thought they romantically liked her.

April on multiple occasions reads bed time stories to them. She in one episode read the same bedtime story 4 times just because they liked it that much. She was going to read it a 5th time just for Leonardo.

When Zack, the 5th turtle, was in danger instead of helping him April shouted "What a scoop!" and filmed a child in a death trap.

Splinter believes in wholesome gaslighting in this show. He once cured three of them of permanent balloon-itis with moth balls but made up a story about how it was an ancient mythical legendary cure. Then after they were better he said it was moth balls.

April actually got fired from her job because she wouldn't badmouth the turtles on live television (also for other reasons). She focused on freelance while helping the boys on the side.

April is really bamf. She's actually saved the turtles just as much as they save her.

I just want everyone to know I love these little guys. The turtles are pure little snookie pookie baby bookies. No one knows the amount of space these silly little fictional turtles take up in my heart.

I hope maybe with more word out people might give the 1987 tmnt show a chance. It's really cute and funny. A super enjoyable time. It doesn't deserve the ragging it gets from other shows and fanbases. They're just goobers.

Opinions on bullsnakes as pets? Do they make good pets, and if so, what experience level is needed for them, what kind of care requirements do they have, etc.

Bullsnakes can be awesome pets! You could probably manage them as a beginner, but I think most keepers will get more joy out of them at the intermediate level.

In terms of care, bullsnakes and similar snakes - gopher, pine, and bullsnakes belong to the genus Pituophis and are pretty similar, so I'll just be saying "pitties" from here on out - are pretty dang easy. They're hardy snakes and very tolerant of mistakes, and their care is not demanding. They also eat very well.

That said, though, there are a few things that can make them tricky for a newbie! The first and biggest is their attitude; pitties can be very defensive when young and you should expect the whole nine yards. Loud hissing, tail rattling, bluff-striking - they're mostly talk but you will get tagged occasionally. They will tame down eventually with regular and patient handling, but it'll take time, and it can be intimidating for a new keeper.

They're also not small snakes and they're extremely active. Pitties average 4-5 feet long depending on exact species, and you might wind up with a nearly six foot long snake! They will need an enclosure that is six feet long at the very least to give them room to explore and engage in natural behaviors.

They're an awesome group of snakes, and they have big personalities and you'll never get bored of watching them! I do think experienced keepers will generally have the most fun with them, though. You could manage them as a beginner as long as you're prepared for some defensiveness! They're beautiful, engaging snakes.

AvM Ep 31 Spoilers

Just some commentary on various aspects of the new episode

So first, the episode in general - it was fun, looks like we're gonna be getting a more random one-off 4th season which I'm fine with, we get our plot and angst through AvA 6 XD I am somewhat curious if this is gonna be a full ten episodes or a shorter season like AvM 2 but either way having some random one-off things that are longer than the actual shorts is nice.

For the group as a whole, it's really nice to see them doing stuff like this again - and I can't help but compare it to the Cave Spider episode all that time ago. All of them have gotten so clever in their tactics, they're so much stronger and more skilled than they used to be! I did notice some individual stuff I wanna bring up of course but I had to mention how strong the group as a whole has gotten.

For Yellow - while they weren't competing, they're using the command block staff so well. I love how the flight from the Witch short was used (for some reason I love how they fly, it's so satisfying) and tbh I just love how they haven't stopped using the command blocks after all the dramatic stuff was over. Also - Yellow is the best at terraforming, Green might make awesome structures and art like that but Yellow is amazing at terraforming places, have you seen the backgrounds? Yellow built all that and it looks amazing.

For Orange - they've been getting back into the super-competitive spirit that everyone has, and considering the nature of this competition yeah they fought with each other but - at least from what I could tell from my first watch and the AVG reaction afterwards - they weren't more disruptive to the others than anyone else was, so I take that as a win. Appropriate levels of competitiveness.

For Red, SEE THEY'RE SUCH A QUICK THINKER I'm so proud of them in this episode, they were always the first to come up with whatever little strategies there were to gain ground, they had so many strategies that were so unique, they just did so well and I'm so happy for them. However their animals died and that is tragic :(

For Blue, they can be so vicious sometimes honestly, when they know it's a fun competition they go all out XD Explosives and all. I did find it interesting though that they seemed much more chill around Red - which is something that's shared in the Parkour episode a while back. They still compete obviously, but it's much less fast-paced and hostile than they are with the rest of them. Just finding that interesting.

Mustache Girl takes on a hybrid Asgore and Asriel role. Already feeling trapped and conflicted, her emotions are finally pushed over the edge when an incredibly large group of people -- though it feels more like the entire world with how suffocating the crowd is -- barge into her throne room and hurl insults her way, telling her to "get lost!" among other things …and (almost) all in the name of Bow Kid, mirroring what happened years ago to a disturbing degree. Finally overwhelmed by all her painful thoughts and emotions bubbling back to the surface, she snaps and violently shatters a Time Piece in a fit of rage. And thus history is made to repeat itself once more. But this time, something's different.

BABY'S FIRST HOPES AND DREAMS REPLACEMENT FOR THE WIN :D Also Happy belated New Year to all my peeps here on Tumblr lmao But ye, this is actually happening! Aside from using similar instruments (and a somewhat loose idea for the very beginning of my track,) this is very deliberately unfaithful to the typical H&D structure. Knew right away that I wanted to use Mustache Girl EX as the base for this track, and that sticking too rigidly to the structure of any other H&D would do a disservice to the feel I wanted to go for: that same kick-you-in-the-dick level of power from Mu EX, but with a LOT more of a melancholy vibe underlying all that fury. Plus, bit of a fun fact: adjustments have been made since obviously, but the first "complete" mixing draft of this track was finished on New Year's Eve 2023! (This kind of constant revising is why the His Theme track is still not done on my part btw lmaooooo.) Also… I'll fully admit something here. For the first time on a track I've done, the drumbeat's backbone is comprised of loops I got when I bought Mixcraft 10 (especially with some of the things they were offering during the first week of its launch,) and the only supplemental VST I used was Abbey Road 80's Drummer for the left panned hi-hats. I know that EDM-type stuff similar to the actual Mu EX track is completely out of my wheelhouse, and I didn't want to royally screw up the drum pattern with this different metal-ish take on it, seeing as those are something I have a TON of trouble with. All things considered, drumline came out ok! And ye on the whole, I'm incredibly happy with this track, and it's easily the most ambitious arrangement I've done to date (and the most difficult too in some aspects.) Hope you all enjoy! :)

What are your thoughts on government intervention to end labor disputes in general? On one hand, forced settlements almost always favour management, and if management knows that the government will intervene, they have an incentive to stall negotiations and run out the clock, so to speak. On the other hand, some shutdowns will have far reaching negative effects on society as a whole, particularly if the strike involves the public service or things like railroads or ports.

In terms of my take on government intervention to end labor disputes, I'm fully in favor of procedural hypocrisy (or, as a philosophy PhD might put it, consequentialism) because the only question that really matters is whose side the government is intervening on behalf of. (This is where I'm going to make a massive plug on behalf of my colleague Erik Loomis' book A History of America in Ten Strikes, and in particular recommend his chapters on the Anthracite Coal Strike of 1902 and the Flint Sit-Down Strike of 1937.)

As a labor historian, I would say that as a rule, the state almost always intervenes in labor disputes at some level, whether it's the local cops and local government, the state militia, the U.S Army, or the courts. For most of labor history, the state has intervened on behalf of capital, and was broadly succesful in using its police power to crush strikes and keep the trade union movement economically marginal.

Where the union movement has been most successful is not when the state is neutral (because capital versus labor is not historically a fair fight between opponents of equal weight), but when the state intevenes on behalf of labor. So yeah, government intervention in labor disputes is awesome - when it's Governor Frank Murphy sending in the National Guard to keep the cops and the strikebreakers out of the plants in the Flint Strike, or the "Madden Board" NLRB enforcing the Wagner Act through the work of the Economic Division and the Review Division, or the National War Labor Board ordering Little Steel to recognize SWOC and agree to the union's terms.

Specifically on the issue of forced settlements, whether they're a good thing or a bad thing depends entirely on whose terms the settlement is made, which in turn depends on how labor law is written and enforced (and staffed). The whole reason why the Taft-Hartley Act of 1947 mandates that "neither party shall be under any duty to accept, in whole or in part, any proposal of settlement made by the [Federal Mediation] Service" is because one of capital's biggest grievances against the "Madden Board" NLRB was that the Board's orders and settlement proposals had systematically favored workers between 1935-1947.

I think the numbers tell the tale - when the state was at its most "neutral" at the turn of the 20th century, union density hit a ceiling of 10% of the workforce. The only time that the labor movement broke through that ceiling was during WWI and then the New Deal, when the state shifted to supporting unions. And then when the state began to shift back in the direction of capital and labor law increasingly favored management, the union movement began to shrink.

This is why I always tell my students that the state is like a great stationary engine, and the only thing that changes is where that engine's power is being sent to. If you refuse to engage in electoral politics and only rely on direct action, the engine doesn't go away - it just gets harnessed by the other side and the power is used against you.

Have Wakeford go to Robbie’s house during the possession period, he gets piped by Robbie and all that, he is bleeding on the ground… and then the Talented Kale guy stands up

I love the idea of Robbie and Noble Kale interacting, because I think Robbie would be SUPER SUPER pumped to meet someone who could knock Eli out with a moment's notice. Robbie and Noble's ethics don't completely align but they're pretty close (Robbie is probably more pragmatic than Noble). Noble would scare the crap out of Eli, which would probably result in a Roast Rider that is 100% Robbie Reyes whenever Noble is anywhere nearby, and allow Robbie to become more comfortable with his body and powers. Also it would be interesting for Robbie to meet a possessing ghost who is not a festering asshole. I'm envisioning a kind of big brother dynamic.

On the other hand, I also like the idea of Danny, just Danny, trying to mentor Robbie, and joining Johnny Blaze in Robbie's lineup of flawed adult role models.

Johnny gave Robbie advice about how to handle Eli that was based on his own experience with Zarathos, who was just randomly lashing out from frustration. This advice wound up being inappropriate to handle Eli, who had human connections and goals and the capacity to plan; Robbie was caught flat-footed when Eli used Gabe to attack his old mafia boss.

Danny's experience with Noble Kale was very different from Johnny's with Zarathos. Danny was running away from his own life by letting Noble take over his body. Danny might broach the subject of grief and avoidance with Robbie, suggesting that Robbie is using the Ghost Rider as a way to escape his pain, and I think Robbie would take that very badly because it's partly true on an emotional level and completely off-base on a practical level. Danny might also believe that Robbie can only be stable and happy with Eli gone; he and Noble were unable to share a life despite Noble being a good guy and both of them caring about each-other. If it turned out that Robbie and Eli could not be separated, Danny might think Robbie is doomed.

I think overall it would have been very cool, from a narrative standpoint, for each Ghost Rider that Robbie meets to have different ideas for how Robbie should handle himself, based on their own individual experiences and with some valid points and other points that are irrelevant or inappropriate. Robbie would have to pick and choose what works for him and find his own way to take care of himself.

in a school filled with the affluent, it would only make sense for birds of a feather to flock. but what if your new status doesn't immediately buy you a way into said flock? what if instead, it bought you sure rejection? to the rich and powerful, having different masks is a must. despite some people knowing your true self and your secrets

When you got out of the ladies room, you were met with 5 faces and it startles you to say the least. "Uh... What's... This?" You asked Kai who was right in front of you. He sheepishly grinned at you saying, "Well, they heard what happened to you and... They wanted to check up on you."

Suddenly, one person piped from the very back, "And by that, he meant that I got news and I let the others know," before he pushed his way to the front, you immediately recognized him as Beomgyu from the music department. Also known as "the loud-mouth annoying pranking prick" according to Hongjoong. Beomgyu grinned widely at you and took your hand in his to shake, "Choi Beomgyu, former doubter, current fan. I LOVE the abstract art you did earlier." He spoke so quickly that you had to will your brain to work double time to process his words. "Uh... Art? I'm sorry, I don't understand." With a tilted head, he explained, "The art you did? With the whipped cream? On Jung Wooyoung's stupid face? I thought it was awesome!" It didn't occur to you that he was still shaking your hand until Kai slapped his arm off you and glared at him, "Stop it, you're hurting her," he growled.

A hand pushed Beomgyu away, and a worried-looking Soobin showed up in front of you. His sad, kicked-puppy-looking face towering over you as if he had just been scolded for trying to be a lap dog. "Are you okay?" he asked, genuinely wanting to know how you were. You noticed that his hands were clenching and unclenching, seemingly hesitant. You didn't get to ask when suddenly, he reached to take your hand in his as his other hand tucked a stray hair away from your face. "Jung Wooyoung didn't do anything to you, did he?" he crouched a little so that his face was level with you. You immediately shook your head, "No, I can promise you he didn't," you said as you squeezed his hand in reassurance, "Kai was there to help me," without you even realizing, you had cracked a small smile, fond of the thought that someone had had your back during an upsetting time. Soobin nodded in understanding, though the worried look in his face didn't drop. "Soobin," you called out, chuckling a little, "I'm fine," you then slip your hand from his grip to lift both of your hands up, and then you did a little turn to show him that you were fine, "See? No damage."

From behind Soobin, Yeonjun popped out to rest his arm on the younger's shoulder. "I'm not convinced. I say we wrap you up in a ton of bandage and store you somewhere safe," he smirked. Soobin rolled his eyes and smack Yeonjun on his stomach, making the older sputter. "Don't even joke about that hyung, I'll literally do it if I have to," he warned.

You sighed and shook your head, "Seriously, you guys worry too much about me." It wasn't that you weren't grateful that there are people who are worried about you, it's just that you don't know why they're that worried about you. You're practically a nobody to them. They're giving too much attention to someone they're not friends with.

Beomgyu smirked and pointed to the person at the very back, the one person who had only been observing this whole time. "Except for Taehyun there," Beomgyu said.

Like meerkats, everyone suddenly turned to look at Taehyun who only stared with widened eyes. "What? I don't know how to react, okay?" Taehyun said, defending himself. Yeonjun raised an eyebrow at him, "Dude, you just gotta be human," to which Kai nodded in agreement, "Yeah man. For someone who allegedly can make the audience cry with an aria, you sure do suck at human emotions," he said, sticking his tongue out at his friend childishly. Seeing their interaction made you bite your bottom lip, preventing yourself from laughing at them.

Taehyun furrowed his eyebrows and crossed his arms in front of his chest, "Hey, who said I wasn't worried?" "You've been distant with (y/n) this whole time Tyun, what are we supposed to think?" Soobin answered. Taehyun grunted and exhaled sharply. While he could be simply understood as exasperated, you saw hesitance from the way his eyes darted back and forth between you and his friends. In all honesty, you didn't want to pry but you couldn't deny that you were intrigued by whatever he had to say for himself.

"I..." Taehyun started, not knowing where he was going but he still wanted to say something. "I..." his eyes land on you. Maybe it was you or maybe it was the sight of his friends banding together protecting someone that he had considered to be, in his own words and definition, weak and spineless. It's not a bad thing per se, to be weak and spineless. Sure, it can mean that the person those definitions intended at is a pushover, but Taehyun never thought of you that way. He had always admired how you were able to hold on despite the oppression you face on a daily basis. Overcoming poverty, being used, being mocked, being used as an emotional punching bag, being put in the crosshairs of opposing parties, had it been him, he would have probably punched someone just to get an exit. I mean for fuck's sake if the Hatfields and McCoys can see what's going on, even they would call the feud stupid.

"I never had anything against (y/n)," Taehyun started, "I just never understood why you guys would stick your necks out for her. No offence," he directed at you. "She could've gotten out of her predicament on her own but she didn't, that gave me... Red flags."

Taehyun's words struck you deeply. You had never considered that you had the key to escaping your own situation. But it wasn't like you ever considered that there was a situation to get out of anyways. You thought that whatever you had with your... "friends" were something normal, you thought everyone had a transactional relationship with their friends. That was what you understood from your parents anyways. When your dad finally came to money after decades of struggling, the first thing he told you was that you and your family owed the Jungs a lifetime debt. While Wooyoung's dad kept convincing you and your family that a lifetime debt was unnecessary, your dad said otherwise. Even way before, even when you were still flat-out broke, living on your mom's paycheck as a waitress at a barbecue restaurant as your main source of income while your dad juggled building his business and part-timing as a construction worker during the night, taking the Jungs's help was never considered generosity. It was always debt. And debts have to be paid.

While you kind of agreed with Taehyun, the others felt like it was way harsh. Kai and Soobin instinctively pulled you into their embrace, effectively sandwiching you between two very strong chests while Yeonjun smacked the back of Taehyun's head as Beomgyu kicked his shin. "Are you fucking kidding me, Taehyun? How could you say something like that to someone with no self-esteem? She just cut off the only friend she thought she had! Do you wanna make her suicidal!?" Yeonjun hissed. Taehyun scowled as he rubbed the spots he just got hit, "Of course not! But do you think pointing out her situation like that wouldn't do some damage??" he pointed out sarcastically.

You gently pushed Soobin and Kai away to speak up, "No, Taehyun's right." This time, they all snapped their heads to you, surprised that you'd agree with Taehyun. "I... Never really considered that I had the option to get out of a very toxic relationship. Heck, I didn't even know that it was toxic. I know that it's normal for friends to do things for each other so it never occurred to me that what happened to me isn't what friends are supposed to do, so... Joke's on me I guess," you chuckled bitterly. "Maybe I just liked the attention Wooyoung was giving me... Whatever kind of attention it was. Or maybe I just liked feeling needed, I guess? I... My dad told me that if you know what you're good at, be consistent in doing it. It's gonna take a while, but you'll see what you can make when the time is right." Soobin frowned at your words, confused, "So... You think what you're good at is... Working on other people's assignments and... Not get any reward for it?" he asked. You could only shrug because when you heard the way he spoke of your previous situation, it sounded bad.

"Wow you're smart but dumb as fuck," Beomgyu blurted out. This time, Yeonjun smacked the back of his head and from the way it sounded, it was harder than when he smacked Taehyun. "Oh for fuck's sake Beomgyu hyung, we really do need to put a heavy-duty shit filter in your mouth," Kai sighed. Rubbing the spot Yeonjun just hit with one hand, Beomgyu raised his other hand defensively, "Just, hear me out!" he groaned out in pain, "I'm saying this with the best intention, I can swear it. It's just that, from past experience, I get why you'd like the attention and feeling of being needed, TRUST ME. And you're so smart when it comes to books because from the looks of it, that's the only thing you know and you were never taught how to apply your book smartness in real life and that's not your fault." He then took a couple of steps forward to stand in front of you. He then gently placed both hands on your shoulder and smiled gently at you, "I don't know where I'm going with this, but I just wanna say that I'm so glad that you finally found it in you to step up for yourself and begin the journey to being the better and best version of yourself. And you know, for humiliating Jung Wooyoung and forever changing his moniker from rich dick turd to pie face."

It wasn't until you felt something cold on your chin that you realized you were crying.

"God fucking damn it Beomgyu, you made her cry!" Yeonjun pointed out as Soobin pulled you gently to face him, "Are you okay?" He asked, worried evident in his eyes. Overwhelmed, you shook your head no while nodding your head yes at the same time, making everyone unsure of what to take from the answer. "I-I'm fine guys, just... I don't know whether to f-feel re-relieved o-or worry a-bout what to do tomorr-ow o-o-or the day after but I just... I made the right decision, right?" you asked between sobs.

Kai chuckled and wrap an arm around you as he softly pressed his forehead on the side of your head, "The best decision yet." You then felt Soobin softly interlocking your fingers with his, "And even if it turns out to be the worst decision ever, which I HIGHLY doubt considering who you told off," he said which made you chuckle and smile a little, "We're gonna help you whatever happens, okay? And you don't have to worry about being indebted to us or anything because I can promise you, we don't want a transactional relationship with you, okay?" And you nodded at him, you really do want to believe in him and for some reason, you can't find it in you to doubt his words whatsoever. In your mind, you might still be traumatized by people claiming to be your friends when they actually want something out of you. But the five people in front of you... Maybe you resonated so much with them, or maybe they were once as broken as you. Whatever it is, it felt safe.

You used your other hand to wipe the tears from your eyes so you could look at them properly. "I really don't know how to thank you guys," you said, managing to not quiver. Beomgyu raised both his arms up in exasperation at your words, "Seriously, now you're just deliberately NOT LISTENING to what we're trying to say- WE. DON'T. NEED. YOUR. THANKS. (Y/N). WE. JUST. WANT. YOU. TO. BE. OKAY." he said loudly, enunciating loudly whilst clapping his hands at each word. Whilst his words seemed harsh, you could sense the affection behind them. You don't experience it at all before, but you liked the type of love they were offering you.

Taehyun stepped up to nudge Beomgyu on the back of his knee rather harshly, making the older guy crumble to the floor. "You're fucking dumb as a rock, hyung," he sighed in annoyance. Yeonjun crouched down and smack Beomgyu harshly on his ass, making him scream "OW" in a tone that usually would've scared you, but in this context, it was just funny. "And what did I say about yelling at (y/n)??" Yeonjun scoffed. "Nothing, hyung, you said nothing about yelling at (y/n)!!" Beomgyu defended as he scrambled back up, Yeonjun also standing up so the two were up against each other. "Well, the sentiment was implied! You were not supposed to upset (y/n)!" The taller male said. "Oh give me a fucking break, look at (y/n) and tell me she's upset by my voice!" he smirked. "I don't know, hyung. Most of us are upset by your existence. (y/n) might just be putting a polite front," Taehyun said.

Soon enough, the three people in front of you began an argument about you in front of you though you felt that it was more like a skit than an actual argument.

Nevertheless, being there, held close by the guy who seemed to always have your back and the guy who could effortlessly make you smile, entertained by the three guys who you thought didn't like you or have motives to approach you, doesn't feel wrong. Even when they snuck you out of the school to play hooky in celebration of your independence, you didn't feel bad at all.

Heck, it felt great.

Like you were finally on the right path.

"I wanted it to be a story where the Joker is forcing Batman down a twisted version of memory lane, saying, 'I know you loved these adventures we had together.'"

"The Joker is coming and saying, 'Remember all these awesome times we had together,' which are obviously not awesome at all for Batman.

To him, it was about proving he could drive a wedge between Bruce and the rest of his family, to say 'Your relationship with me, if I show you the way you've acted, the way you love me, I'll prove to the family you're not the great father you think you are.'"

"[The Joker] says 'I heard what you said, you want your family dead.' Batman's like 'No, I didn't say that, I didn't think that,' and the Joker says, 'Yes you did, you just won't admit it. I heard it in your head.'"

"[Joker proves] to Batman that he would behave in the wrong way at first... That he wouldn't tell them about the card in the cave and that he wouldn't tell them how he's going after the Joker and that he's got Alfred. That he'd keep it from them to protect them.

"By doing those things, the Joker is strengthening his case that, 'Deep down Batman only wants to fight with me alone; he loves me more than you.'"

"... To me, the whole story is about the Joker saying, 'You love me more than them, and I'm going to prove it to you. You love me more than them because you won't kill me. By not killing me, you're leaving the key under the mat and the window open for me to climb in in the middle of the night and kill them in their beds. Your little family; you want that to happen.'"

"... It was really about the Joker trying to prove a point: At the end of the day, you love me more than you love them. And you will do the wrong thing because your deepest desire is to not have them around anymore."

"... It was about Joker saying 'You and your allies, Batman, you and this little family you've built, they're a false table before you and I'm going to prove that. And in proving that I'm going to divide you.' Because the truth is, he could've cut their faces off easily. He could've done that, but why didn't he? Because it wasn't his point, and that's the idea. He's laughing at them by not having done it."

[The] Joker's very good at making you believe that that's what makes you incapable of winning against him. So what Joker's saying here is, 'You built this family and it will always cause you to lose...' So it's a weakness. But is it a weakness, or is it a sign of growth and maturity and strength?"

"[Snyder] sees [Batman] as having outgrown the loner posturing that the Joker (and I'd add many fans) feel is somehow integral to the character... While the potential targets he's surrounded himself with might make him vulnerable to his enemies, Batman's family keeps him human, keeps him sane."
