the real reason that tim can't age over 18 is because if he did, dick would have an existential crisis about how old *he* is. wdym tim, who was 13 when dick met him, is 21 now. if tim has been doing this for 8 years, how long has dick been doing this for? wdym tim is legally old enough to drink now? if *that's* true then dick's no longer 25. when did dick suddenly get so close to 30. that's not a thing that's real. *his* annoying little brother isn't that old because dick's not that old. he hasn't really been working here for going on 20 years, right? can't be, because he just started here two days ago.
so yea, tim's not older than 17. who are you trying to kid here? dick's not gullible. he won't fall for your lies.
what utter nonsense are you going to try to tell him next? that damian's in high school or something? he's onto you.

threats against the asims || kalim al-asim
masterlist characters: kalim (platonic) genre: angst contains: kidnapping/assassination attempts (mentioned), guilt/self-deprecation, foreshadowing hehe, lots of new characters bc the asims have 32 CHILDREN summary: the asim name comes with some setbacks. it usually involves the oldest sibling. so why does your body seem on such high alert recently? notes: woohoo finally lil asim was long overdue for a new chapter :DD sorry for the names taken off like one website :// parts: [og post] | [previous] | [next]
Tumblr media
typically, you didn't worry about the countless hardships that befell you and your siblings all because of your family name. you didn't have to worry about all of that because, despite being a part of the asim family, the threats didn't involve you. more often than not, they involved the eldest son, kalim, and, on rare occasions, the youngest twins, nawra and rawda.
they were the most logical victims in your family, more so kalim than the twins considering he was the heir of the family. the tendency of kalim to fall victim to these threats and dangers had caused your parents to be extra cautious with him, doting on him every second of the day.
meanwhile, the rest of your siblings sat in the middle of all of the chaos, torn between being relieved that your brother would be safe and sound at the end of the day and jealous, a feeling that often made you feel sick to your stomach.
the jealousy made you sick because how dare you all feel this way? there was your brother, having been the victim of countless kidnappings and assassination attempts, and you had the gall to be jealous of him?
...deep down, you knew it wasn't because of the tragedies that seemed to follow him. no, in fact, you knew you all prayed for the day your precious big brother who smiled brighter than the sun would get to live peacefully without worrying about being taken or killed in an instant.
what made you, and a majority of your siblings, jealous was the fact that your parents doted on him. the younger siblings never worried about that, not until they found themselves being replaced by another much younger child. but the older children were envious, the feeling bubbling in their chests and gripping at their hearts like snakes coiled around their prey.
you all wished for nothing more than to be loved and doted on by your parents.
but you knew you wouldn't get that. not unless...
Tumblr media
it was quite common for qamar and hala to wake up in the middle of the night in search of you. ever since they had caught you sitting on one of the windowsills, staring out into the night sky as the sounds of kalim and your younger siblings sneaking out faded into the distance, the twins had made it their mission to sit with you until they passed out.
they were always drawn to the moon and stars. that's what you told yourself. that's why they sought to find you in the late hours of the night.
and you didn't mind that. even if they didn't come here for you, they were here. they were curled up by your side, squeezed against you to fit on the windowsill with their hands gripping your pajamas and their heads laying against you. you would have your arms wrapped around them, lightly stroking your thumbs against their hair that would no doubt be tangled and messy by the time they woke up in their beds.
but this night, when they had found their usual spots in your arms, was much different than the others.
you didn't feel relief with a little twinge of doubt in your body. no, there was no relief to be felt at all. instead, your anxiety spiked, your heart and stomach feeling as if they were being squeezed and twisted in your body.
you didn't hear kalim that night. it was oddly quiet and that only added to the dread building in your stomach.
"(name)..." qamar's quiet whine was enough to pull your attention elsewhere. you glanced down at him, letting your fingers comb through his hair.
"i thought you were still asleep," you whispered to him, smiling softly when he nuzzled further into your side.
"you're shaking..." he muttered into your clothes, clutching at the cloth as if to steady you. "are you cold...?"
"no," you responded, hoisting the twins in your arms, the entire situation comical to watch considering the twins were very close in age to you. hala, still sound asleep, tucked her head into your shoulder and wrapped her legs around your waist. meanwhile, qamar, still sluggish and tired, managed to stand beside you and walked as you headed back to their room. "but, it's probably best to head back now."
"m'kay," qamar yawned, leaning more into your side with each step.
in hindsight, you probably should have trusted your gut that night.
Tumblr media
faraj was one of the older siblings you felt you could turn to in your house. maybe it was because he wasn't one of the oldest but also because his entire demeanor was welcoming.
of course, you didn't like bothering him with anything. no, just sitting in his room as he read a book was enough for you. sometimes, he would mutter the words out loud and you'd listen to his voice fill the quiet room.
you usually found solace and peace during these times. but not today. you didn't know what it was but you had the same twisting feeling in your gut that told you something was wrong. something was wrong and you had no idea what it was.
"(name)?" much like that night on the windowsill, faraj called out to you in the same way that qamar did, albeit without the sleepy tone. his book was partly closed, his thumb keeping his spot marked. "something's bothering you. what's wrong?"
"huh?" unlike that night, faraj's words weren't enough to distract you from the twisting feeling in your gut. "uh, just not feeling good... that's all."
"you're feeling sick? do you need to see mahdi?" faraj questioned, slipping his bookmark in between his pages and placing his book on his bed. "i'm sure he has some things that'll make you feel better."
"no!" you yelped, jumping to grab onto faraj before he could leave. "no, no, no... i'm... i'm fine. just need some rest is all."
faraj stared at you for what seemed like minutes. he stared as if he were picking apart each and every lie you had told him over the years, starting with this very one. it wasn't until he let out a resigned sigh and trudged back to his bed did you let yourself relax as much as you could.
"if you're sure," he huffed, burying his face back in his book. granted, his eyes didn't seem to be fully reading the words on the page.
in hindsight, you probably should have let faraj take you to mahdi.
Tumblr media
the night was quiet again. the twins had yet to make their appearance, so you were left all alone to revel in the silence. it was surprisingly calming, a welcome difference compared to the sinking feeling in your gut that had been a constant ever since that night.
it was so dark that you didn't even notice the person outside the window, staring at you.
it only allowed them the perfect opportunity to--

HEADCANONS THAT HAVE BEEN IN MY HEAD FOR WAY TO LONG
Kuai Liang was a miracle/rainbow baby.
Kuai Liang is my beloved and I love him BUT he’s always getting favoured treatment in regards to his backstory and development so I’m gonna add more to it.
I can’t guess AT ALL what the gap between all the brothers truly is, initially I thought Tomáš would be the middle child with baby brother Kuai Liang but that seems to be replaced with Tomáš being the baby and Kuai Liang being the middle child, but it’s whatever.
Regardless, by birth and Lin Kuei's bloodline, he is the youngest and my guess is that they have a 3-5 year age difference. Once Kuai was born, he was always regarded as more special because of the tragedy before his birth (multiple tragedies I suppose). Bi-Han did not have the kindest of childhoods, even if he can't remember all of it, because when he saw his baby brother for the first time he was overjoyed. His parents were happy, nobody was yelling at him and he saw his father genuinely smile all the time holding baby Kuai. The birth of the younger brother was a cause for a huge celebration and the years following were of prosperity for the clan.
For Bi-Han there wasn't really any jealousy towards Kuai Liang, that was his baby brother whom he loved so so much, but that didn't mean that he didn't notice how his parents gave the younger more attention due to the discovery of his pyromancy, which was Bi-Han's guess but only one of the factors for the increased attention.
Though physical training didn't begin until later, academics and lessons were still taught with just as much as a set schedule as one would expect of crown princes, he WAS the heir for THE grandmaster title and role, he had to study and be knowledgeable just as much psychically skilled.
When it came time for physical training and honing the skills of ice, the Grandmaster wasn't one to discriminate his teaching style or let anyone baby Bi-Han just because he was the heir, if anything he was given more burden and responsibility to train harder.
*Sorry for the tangent, I promise I'll go back to my original thesis*
So little Bi-Han had been studying and then eventually training, so once his lessons were done he loved rushing to find his brother so that they could play because duh they are children, and of course, baby Kuai loved seeing his older brother and spending time together.
The realization of how different expectations were set for them was when Kuai Liang didn't have to spend as long in lessons, had their father help him out or their mother would vouch to ease on certain training exercises, not to mention whenever Fire Lord Liu Kang visited, he too would spend more time with Kuai Liang (Bi-Han was obviously busy in training and lessons).
The more favoured treatment and kindness Kuai Liang received from everyone, especially his parents put together the puzzle pieces in Bi-Han's mind that his brother had something he didn't, but he couldn't figure out what it was but he knew that they were definitely not treated the same.
You know when younger siblings do stuff but older siblings get blamed, yeah you can't tell me Kuai Liang didn't get away with stuff by looking at their parents with his beautiful brown eyes (he can do no wrong) but that meant that Bi-Han often got those punishments which usually resulted in longer and more strenuous training with a sprinkle of memorizing more of realm texts and geographical maps (idk what a clan of "Earthrelm defenders" study). BUT, Kuai would sneak in treats or snacks to cheer up his brother, who could never really stay mad at him for long.
Now onto the more fun part, Tomáš. Obviously, the guilt of Lin Kuei being responsible for killing Tomáš' family was a lot for the grandmaster so the treatment of Tomas was quite similar to Kuai Liang. I wanna they were like 8/10/15 respectively at the time Tomáš was taken in.
The real differences were too hard to ignore at this point because his father so clearly favoured Kuai Liang and now Tomáš, and well to any angsty teenager eventually you have to have had enough.
Now Bi-Han may have had a more complicated relationship with his father , whom he saw as a "Grandmaster" an older authority figure more than a parent but his mother was his safe space, when Tomáš came into their lives, their mother knew that this child just lost his family and must have felt compelled to give him the same love as her own children. Kuai Liang, who we've seen in Canon is usually a Tomáš supporter, is no different here, yes at first he was confused but like most kids, you play with each other here and there and you become friends.
Teenager Bi-Han sees the love and softness from his father given to Tomáš, his baby brother now considers Tomáš a friend and basically a brother, and attention is also given to Tomáš and even his mother, who pats Tomáš’s head and makes his favourite meal, all of which he feels cheated out of. What can you do though? He can't force the others to stop so he has to embrace Tomáš as well; begrudgingly, from a distance and in short bursts. He is not affectionate or close to Tomáš but I don't believe he doesn't consider him a brother or atleast some sort of family, no signs of the story mode gave any indication of him denying brotherhood, pure blood Lin Kuei sure, but if the brothers are in their late 20s it's been atleast a decade and anyone can get used to someone's presence in that time.

Did Bad and Bagi interactions inspire this? Yes. Do I expect this to be anywhere close to Canon? Nope. Anyway, here's the story of The Grim Reaper meeting a set of twins (cw/tw: blood/violence/death mentions, general Cellbit fuckery):
In war, a lot of horrible things happen. That's just how it is. People die, and it's a tragedy, as it always is. Bad always finds himself on the battlefields. His duty to the world beyond demands it of him. Reaping the souls of those who have unfortunately passed on during battle is as simple as it's always been. It's just more time-consuming than usual. Bad can't find the energy to mourn every single soul he takes. He mourns for souls he's yet to take, instead.
Bad likes to believe he's seen everything in this world. He's just as old as it, if not even older. This world shouldn't hold many surprises. As always, he's proven wrong. In the woods not incredibly far from a main battlefield, Bad finds two people. They look young, really young. One sits next a body that is ripped to shreds, and the other sits further from the body. The one closer to the body wipes blood from his mouth as he looks up at Bad. His brown hair was held out of his face with a set of goggles. The one farther is chewing on what looks to be stale bread. She looks between the other and Bad, through her ash blonde hair. They look like siblings, twins maybe. These two are the types of souls that Bad mourns. He can feel they're destined for greatness, yet they're stuck here.
The young duo looks absolutely terrified as Bad approaches them, two sets of wide bright blue eyes stare at him. The one next to the body stands, holding his knife in a shakey white knuckle grip. The one farther grabs a sword in an equally shakey grip. Bad points to the body, and he tries his best to explain that he's just here for the soul. The young brunette nods before turning to his companion, his sister Bad assumes, and translates. Bad recognizes the language as Portuguese, but he doesn't have any hope in understanding what was actually said. Both lower their weapons, the closer sits back down, and both look in amazement as Bad tears the soul from the body. Simple as that. He jokes about soul, luckily, being left in tact. Neither one of the younger two laugh.
Bad stays after his job is complete. He's curious about siblings. He's still guessing at that fact. He wants to know more about the young soldiers. He wants to know more about the young souls he's mourning for. Bad asks about their names. The demon wants to know what names he needs to plead cases for in front of Death, herself. The brunette looks to his sister, a guess still, before turning back to Bad shaking his head. Neither has a name. Bad didn't have one for a while either, so he doesn't push. Next, he asks about their ages. How young are they truly? They can't be much older than eighteen. Bad hates the answer he receives. Quinze, the blonde, speaks finally, her voice shakes. Fifteen, the brunette translates in unsure tone. Was Bad ever that young? He can't remember. Finally, he asks if they're actually siblings. There wasn't any hesitation, both nod.
Bad is taken a back when they question him in return. He really shouldn't have been. They ask–the brother mostly asks, but the sister speaks, as well, in their native tongue–about his name. He shares with them his name and a few nicknames he's gotten over the years. There's a hint of recognition in their expressions with a few of his names. After a few more questions, some of which Bad doesn't answer, he offers the siblings non-stale bread. The brunette doesn't take it, instead licking his lips that are still covered in blood. Bad gets it. He really does. The blonde cautiously takes it with her hands still shaking as she does so. She examines the bread for any tampering. Bad gets that, too. He really does.
The Grim Reaper takes his leave after the siblings fall asleep, it was hours of a futile struggle to stay awake. He knows they sleep light and fearful. Bad mourns for their souls before he ever needs to reap them. The demon curses whoever or whatever has forced these nameless teens to fight. He mourns for the day he'll take their souls. At least they'll know peace then.
After nearly eleven years, Bad meets one of the young souls he mourned for, once again. He took the name Cellbit, and Bad thinks it's a fitting one. Cellbit is a investigator now, and his face holds a relaxed smile. He thanks Bad for being kind to him all those years ago. He doesn't mention his sister.
After nearly eleven years, Bad meets the other young soul he mourned for, once again. She took the name Bagi, and Bad thinks it's a fitting one. Bagi is a pacifist now, and her bright eyes are full of curiosity and determination. She thanks him for being kind to her now. She doesn't mention her brother.

revere robins au
I have more ideas for my reverse Robins AU.(Most ideas are about Alex)
I have split the bat kids into groups in my head
terry, helena, Anastasia and Carrie  - older siblings
matt, alex, Steph and Tim -middle siblings
duke, cass and Jason -younger siblings
 Richard and Barbara -baby siblings
The groups that I usually followed my head for who they are the closest to
I have somehow given Alex eldest daughter syndrome due to her ending up taking care of her younger siblings.
Stephanie, Tim, Alex and Matt originally met due to Stephanie starting a brawl with a bully that had a lot of kids involved, they became friends in the principal's office.
Tim was taken with Stephanie by the joker but was the last one to know that she died.
Tim was still missing when Anastasia killed the Joker and when the big fight happened. He ended up being found by Alex  a few hours later.
Alex and Matt got into a huge fight after the big fight due to Alex wanting to stay behind to look  after Tim and to not go to bludhaven with him. the fight only lasted 2 weeks before Matt caved and called Alex after a bad injury( it was not life-threatening but it did hurt badly)
Alex originally only stays at the Manor to find Tim but then realizes that Bruce is not taking care of Cass due to his grief and ends up staying there longer.
Alex went from the youngest to being the oldest in the house taking care of her younger siblings; she is still the oldest in the house when Bruce starts taking in more kids.
Duke thinks that Alex is the oldest child until Carrie comes to the house to talk to Alex about Anastasia and the rest of her siblings.
Alex has a lot of resentment towards her Elder siblings due to them  not contacting her thinking that she was on Bruce's side.
Tims not paralyzed in this au but he does switch between canes and his wheelchair Due to the torture that he endured.
Alex gets into a lot of fights with Bruce due to him taking in more children but not talking to his Elder ones until Stephanie is back. She feels like she has taken care of the children more than he has for a long time And she is very much not afraid to yell at his face about it though not in front of her younger siblings.
Carrie runs a diner in this Au. I do not know why but it just has been something that I've had in my head since the beginning.
All of the older children except for maybe Carrie have gone at least borderline villain though they do end up being more of a morally gray hero in the end.
Tim and Alex become codependent for a time due to them being the only person they can lean on for their grief. They can also talk to Matt but he is literally another city to get away from what happened.
I feel like the younger siblings end up thinking that the older ones are so cool And because they didn't see what happened for them to leave they definitely don't understand what Alex Matt Steph and Tim feel about the older ones.
I have so much angst for how Matt Alex Steph and Tim view there older siblings you do not understand the amount of angst that I have.
Duke is taken in barely a year after Stephanie has died and all of the older siblings are not talking to Bruce. Everyone in the family is still grieving and Duke is now thrown into a family still in morning but not able to talk about it due to Stephanie technically not being legally family. Unlike Jason's death in Canon that was very publicized Stephanie's was very much on the down low as to not Turn Stephanie into a spotlight tragedy and to not link their identities.
While Bruce is in the timestream all of the older siblings are fighting for the cowl. The middle siblings are taking care of the publicity and custody of the younger siblings. The younger siblings are trying to figure out if Bruce is actually dead and the baby siblings are traumatized.

What really makes the Blue Lions such interesting and well-written characters is how they’re bound by trauma. Of course, other houses also have characters who have sad or traumatic backstories, but the Blue Lions is the only one that it applies to the entire house. And it’s always so deeply rooted into the way that these characters act and why they do the things that they do.
Dimitri-Sole survivor of the Tragedy of Duscur. Lost his parents and dear friend. And then developed a severe case of PTSD to the point where he was haunted by illusionary ghosts of his loved ones to get revenge. And constantly fighting against himself to keep his darker tendencies reigned in.
Felix-Lost his older brother in the tragedy. And then growing to hate chivalry and lashing out against it in every way possible, and having to look at chivalrous concepts in the most cynical way to cope with Glenn’s death. Since Glenn himself highly valued chivalry.
Ingrid-Lost her fiancée (and close friend, feel like people forget about this aspect too much tbh) in the tragedy. And since she didn’t see his death and idolized Glenn so much had to force herself to believe that he died in an ideal way and wishing to replicate it herself.
Sylvain-Was already being tormented by his brother on multiple occasions and then lost a close friend and had to watch his other best friends struggle with their grief and trauma to the point of developing self-destructive tendencies. A behavior which he was most likely already exhibiting himself at that point.
Dedue-Lost his parents and sister. Had his race genocided. Has an extreme lack of self-worth due to the prejudice of his people. And accepts all of the hatred thrown at him in spite of him and most of Duscur being innocent because some Duscur people were involved.
Annette-Was abandoned by her father (due to the tragedy) and worked herself to the bone tirelessly for years in pursuit of finding him. To the point where it reaches extremely unhealthy levels. And she has to actively try to take it easy. Because she’s just become so accustomed to it.
Ashe-Lost his birth parents and had to turn to thievery to keep his younger siblings fed. His adoptive older brother was executed for conspiring in the tragedy. And due to Lonato adopting and saving him, Ashe develops an extremely idealistic perspective where he wants to help everyone and believe in the best in everyone, despite how things might seem.
Mercedes-Her father was a terrible person (don’t really want to get into that cause trigger warning stuff). And she and her mother had to escape leaving her little brother behind. Said little brother became a deranged serial killer who was beyond saving. And she has an extremely caring and motherly personality to all of her fellow Lions, probably due to the fact that she wasn’t able to save her brother, which she definitely regrets a lot.
They’re all such extremely broken, traumatized, and flawed individuals. But that’s exactly what makes them so interesting. These characters who’ve already been put through the ringer before the start of the story. And then are challenged even more during the story itself. It’s all the more satisfying when you see them push through together, overcome their flaws, and then end up victorious. The more adversity a character has, the more sweeter it is when they’re finally able to achieve their goals at the end. And that’s why, the Blue Lions are such an interesting and well-rounded house of fantastic characters.
Heck, same thing goes for Rodrigue, Gilbert, and Catherine. But I feel like this post is already too long as it is XD.
TL;DR: The Blue Lions and even Faerghus characters in general are extremely well-written.

did anyone else have a isekai webcomic phase or was it just me ajsbdbdbdb anyways
Isekai AU where you are a sibling of sin or something and you are sent back into time and reincarnated in place of Sister Imperator around the time when Copia is still very young, maybe only a few years old.
Primo isn’t Papa just yet, but he’s being trained/prepared for it. Nihil is obviously a shitty dad and none of them have their mothers around— so you decide to say ‘Fuck It’ and decide to become their parental figure.
At first Primo and Secondo are suspicious— Terzo is still a little too young to understand what’s going on, aside from taking the brunt of Nihil’s anger (so he soaks up your love and attention like a sponge, especially when you talk back to Nihil and stop his shitty behavior right that instance). But then you send Nihil’s ass to therapy or some reform thing (or you can just straight up get rid of him), and suddenly you’re in charge of their educations and lives and you are,,,,, so kind and understanding. The boys finally experience gentle parenting and both Primo and Secondo start to see you as their foster parent and adore you dearly just as much as Terzo and baby Copia.
Just…. Imagine walking around the abbey with little baby Copia all happy and cooing in your arms, Terzo trailing behind you and clinging to your robe or jacket, and both Primo and Secondo looking regal as they were taught to be, but protectively lingering by you and occasionally approaching and asking for approval or help— beaming when they receive encouragement and not reprimanded.
And hear me out— this means:
Primo still gets to retire when he wants but he stays to nurture and advise his younger siblings. He begins a garden at the abbey not out of needing something to relieve stress or distract himself, but rather out of love. Out of a passionate love of nature, of creating life, of watching things grow.
Secondo probably has a longer run and has healthier coping skills. He’s still a bit of a party kid— the thrill is just too good to resist, but he’s no longer doing drugs and drinking until he blacks out. He knows how to balance things now, knows how to properly channel and process his emotions in a healthy way. Actively challenging the harmful mindset of toxic masculinity drilled into him as a child from Nihil.
Terzo gets a longer run and also never gets dragged off stage. He no longer sleeps around to cope, stops using sex in order to just feel something. Because he doesn’t need to— he feels alive just being with those he loves and those that love him for who he is. He’s still a huge flirt and tease, still mingles amongst ghouls and siblings of sin, but it’s so much healthier and full of deep bonds of companionship and friendship. Doesn’t feel like he has to prove himself as Papa in order to receive love.
Copia grows up with three older brothers who adore and protect him. He’s still awkward and anxious (but it’s just the autism, not the trauma ✨) but he has a support system to lean on now. He’s not alone anymore. He’ll become Papa when Terzo is ready to give up the mantle— and when he, himself, is ready. It’s not suddenly thrust upon him with high expectations and there is no tragedy that lies in its wake. When he becomes Papa, you and all his brothers throw a little party and his rats are invited. It becomes and stays one of his favorite days ever.
and in case you decide to run the ‘send Nihil off to get help’ route:
He’s livid and definitely resists but you threaten to leave for good if he doesn’t get help and therapy.
It’s an in-patient stay and you visit him every weekend. Alone at first, but as he begins to improve, you’ll start bringing the boys with you.

One question I would like to ask: [How do the turtle tots see their papa? (Part 1, because I can't put everything in here)] Do they idolize him as their hero, or as just their jolly turtle dad? You said the kids do end up learning ninjutsu. Dis they discover this by chance and wanted to learn, or did Mikey realized by himself it was a good idea to teach them? Did their perception of their father change because of it? And do they think Mikey it's a good sensei?
Tumblr media
They adore their dad and love him very much!
They do idolize him, but just as a loving parent figure. After all, they can't truly envision the silly turtle that sings while cooking their meals in the hero light and they get truly flabbergasted each time Mikey tells them stories of his brothers and their adventures because they always forget their dad also lived them (Will get back to this in a bit, following the order of your ask ;] ).
The kids do know ninjutsu! They are all in completely different levels of it though.
Mikey wanted them to be able to defend themselves in case they ever got themselves in dangerous situations but he never does force them to practice into it more if they don't wish to. Uno and Moja are the ones who get into more advanced training from Mikey when older and they spar with each other and with Mikey constantly (Uno is the one who thought it would be cool of him to get better at ninjutsu, to be like his uncles, and Moja decided to get more training as well only because she didn't want Uno to get a big head about it, she always humbles him if needed be). Yi knows the basic of self defense and only uses her training from time to time just to burn off energy, Odyn trains with her on these occasions. Odyn does Not enjoy training much but he does know the basics of self defense and likes spending time with his siblings to goof around in training.
They do start training ninjutsu because of Mikey talking more about his brothers, Uno was the one who brought the idea of them learning in the first place. When teaching them Mikey always explains that what he's teaching them can harm others and for them to be responsible with it, he just wants them to be safe and to take care of each other. That last thought is something that stays with the kids forever. The kids are brought up in a loving and safe space so Mikey never truly has doubts if teaching them was a bad idea because the kids actually see training as a sort of way where they can burn off excessive energy to have fun and not as something they need to Not Die. The only problem Mikey sometimes has is when they get hurt during training (sprained limbs, moja hitting Uno a bit too hard without meaning to).
The kids perception of Mikey never truly changes from their loving papa, even after learning everything he went through, because they understand where he is coming from (a literal war, being a child soldier, losing his entire family). They love him the same.
The fact that they feel somewhat disconnected from the Mikey of their dad's stories and anecdotes is somewhat of a factor as well. They can't help to just feel like those are completely different lives of someone they know and love because, even after so much tragedy, they look at Mikey and he seems in so much peace now. They are happy for him And are there for him.
Mikey is the best sensei! He makes the trainings fun and actually enjoyable! They love their papa sensei.
The photo April found of Mikey and his brothers has been on their shrine at their home ever since the kids can remember. Since that (April sending Mikey the photo) happened when the kids were fairly small they can't truly remember when it happened BUT babies do sense and react to their parents emotional cues so the kids definitely started crying alongside Mikey as soon as they saw him crying (Mikey had the first ever turtle pile with the babies that day, it was nice). After this Mikey started to cry easily again as he did when younger so the kids are actually used to their dad being an emotional crier (any strong emotion) and hugger/smoocher in general since they grew up with him :'], Odyn is an emotional crier too! just like their dad!
The kids did not know of the way Mikey's brothers died until they were much older and emotionally stable. They grew up with stories of their uncles (visiting Donatello's grave specifically, playing heroes and using their family as characters) and they knew that they had passed on but they only learnt of how they died and the whole backstory (being raised as child soldiers, THE WAR, the way they got murdered, Mikey's solitude time just going around killing bad guys) until they were much older. As one would learn the whole family lore when adult.
Mikey was open about their family story because the kids are family too after all.
When learning all of it the kids were definitely shocked but, again, the view of their loving father didn't actually change in their perception. Yi and Odyn were just So Sad about how tragic the story of their family is. Not surprisingly, Moja and Uno were the ones truly angry at an outside force (the whole foot thing) completely destroying their family in a generational war but there's nothing they can do except be angry for a bit, after all by this time Casey Marie and April have won back New York alongside the revolution, Hiroto is long dead and the generational war is no more. They all cry together and have a turtle pile again that day :']
The kids know there's no more revenge to be had, and that every second they are alive living a happy life with their family is like saying "fuck you. I Win" to the generational war thing and that their uncles would be so happy to know that they grew up safe and in a loving manner.

So I’ve been thinking about the Ramirez family again, my mind wonders at what could have caused the rift between them all. They all seem to think the distance between them is for the best, but each have differing reasons for why.
Andy seems convinced that they don’t need their family, and is better off alone. But I can see in their one good eye, there’s resentment. Resentment and trauma. There’s a sense of abandonment that just emits from them. I get the feeling that Andy has never felt like they belonged anywhere. Even with their family, they never felt understood but I think Andy still loved them. And they loved Andy back, even if Andy couldn’t see it.
Oscar seems convinced he isn’t good enough to be around his family, and they’re better off without him. There’s guilt under his fun loving and free spirited persona. Oscar loves his younger sibling, I can tell, but he never asked for the responsibility of being an older brother.
Ovidio is the hardest for me to read. Maybe that’s why I didn’t realize he’s their uncle and not the eldest sibling lol. I can’t say why but I just feel that Ovidio caused the rift between them all, or at least played a significant hand in it. Ovidio seems to want someone to kill for. He wants someone whose name can justify his actions, but none of his family want to be that someone.
Anyways, that's just my interpretation of your wonderful characters! Sorry that this is a bit long lol. I hope I got some of it right and I look forward to the next piece!
oh my GODD honestly it's insane how accurately you read all of my characters. i'm so so so humbled someone's invested in their story, thank you SO MUCH for you interest and your ask! i'm very sorry it took so long to answer, it's a bit hard to collect my thoughts.. but i truly appreciate your analysis! i made this scheme to support info under the cut. i must warn you that this story's a bit dark in a domestic way and... it's really long lol
Tumblr media
so. you're mostly right about ovidio causing the rift! i hope i'm not ruining it for you by telling, i know that stories often seem much more interesting before we know any specific details. but basically the actual tragedy of the ramirez family has it roots not in the interpersonal drama (though it definitely played a significant role in everything) but in the ncr and fallout politics in general. all of them used to live in some independent settlement in california, with its own militia, farms, crop fields and traders before the ncr annexed them. the republic put this settlement through their standard modus operandi with enforcement of taxes and recruiting of many promising and not so promising youngsters in the army, including ovidio who was around 18 at the moment (i even have this sketch below with some arcade and ovidio bonding which kinda summarizes it)
Tumblr media
mateo and ramona were traders. obviously, the ncr started to suck resources from the settlement (mostly crops and animal products) and they needed caravans to transport them. ramona and mateo (and some other settlers) took the job and both eventually were killed in one unfortunate trip by raiders (which at least partially are the aftermath of ncr's actions in california and nevada imo). so, as you said, andy was lonely and abandoned from very early on in their childhood. they were raised in this post-annexation "world" where their parents almost never had time for them and were never home. oscar was a bit more fortunate (he's 5 years older and had his chance to spend some quality time with mom and dad) and naturally he took their death harder than andy. ovidio was demoted from the ncr army (it's the whole other story) and came back to provide for children and his own parents. he was around 20 at the moment, oscar was 12 and andy only 7. the three of them grew to love each other with time but it was a baffling shift in family dynamics because oscar and andy were relatively independent kids and had never spent much time with ovidio before.
Tumblr media
also oscar really wanted to accompany caravans himself (to get away from home a little and out of sheer curiosity about the world) and ovidio just wasn't having it. it literally was the same conflict between them over and over, so andy had to listen to constant bickering and drama which left a lasting impact on her psyche. the second thing that really traumatized andy was abuela's dementia - this slow decay of the mind of someone who was once very clever and loving. and the third thing... well. once upon a time oscar just LEFT after some especially heated argument and it changed everything once again. he didn't plan to run away for real, just wanted to party a little, to teach ovidio a lesson and to come back home. but he ended up meeting someone cute and kinda postponed and postponed his return to the point of never coming back LOL (he did kinda come back later but... spoilers). just like you guessed, he didn't believe his family needed him because his experience at home was basically doing hard labor and being yelled at. of course his family actually loved him and everyone was scared shitless about him including other settlers but... he never got to know that. he dissappeared without a trace because good luck to anyone who looks for a "dark-haired, dark-eyed lad of medium height" on the wastelands. ovidio didn't find him back then but he really tried, and his life became pretty much centered around this desperate search for oscar. andy grew up into a capable, cold and emotionally unavailable young adult by then. but her brother's escape was like a nail in the coffin of the avoidant attachment style. imagine 1) never having your parents around and losing them to the wastelands, 2) losing your grandma to dementia and seeing her literally not remembering your anymore, a fate worse than death in andy's opinion, 3) losing your brother to the wastelands too but this time he "deliberately" left you 4) losing your uncle to this obsession with finding your brother. andy AGAIN, JUST LIKE YOU SAID felt abandoned by others. they were a shadow, not noticed by anyone, not being anyone's priority, overworked at home, without any way to decide something for themselves. and it was the turning point when poor abuela fell sick and finally died. andy lost her last anchor to the hometown that stopped feeling like home a long time ago. and yeah. whoopsie. she left too! it was the first real decision in andy's life, a hard call to make yet a weirdly freeing one.
Tumblr media
later on ovidio dropped what was left of the caravan business altogether and left their settlement too, this time to search for both "kids" who were adults at this point. that's how the things still are during the fnv events - the ramirez family is separated, all of them found some surrogates of familial relationships and left their impact on the political map of california and nevada. they reunite only after the independence ending (achieved by oscar). and speaking of your other observation: "Ovidio seems to want someone to kill for. He wants someone whose name can justify his actions, but none of his family want to be that someone" - it sounds more like how things play out after the big reunion. but... that's a whole other story :) thank you so much for reading and, once again, for this ask! had great time answering!!!

Headcanon...?
Spoilers for a fic I will write eventually?
Do not read if you do not like made-up, author-indulgent backstories for characters who exist in the GFFA. This one is almost hard to post because it's kind of personal. Like, a story so plot driven that I am nervous people will hate my interpretation and my ships. Oh well, I guess, it's happening.
Tumblr media
A discussion in the Duros hoes chat, and then between me and @allsystemsblue, got me thinking about what is Cad Bane's real name? It sure as hell ain't Cad Bane. A lot of the fandom seems to agree on that. "Cad" and "bane" are both words in the dictionary that can be defined.
Cad: a man who behaves dishonorably, especially toward a woman. / scoundrel / rogue / rascal.
Bane: a cause of great distress or annoyance. / scourge / ruin / death.
We shall come back to this.
I have a scene mapped out for Stars Above in which I want Cad to run into his sister. I have a plan for his backstory that does not include this particular fanfic, but another, a series I am working on that will be entitled "Annuals of an Outlaw," and is essentially a collection of works I have outlined that will contain my version of Cad Bane's "story" from his beginnings on Duro in the Descent Ghetto, to after the Clone Wars and beyond.
Yes, it will have smut. And angst. Lots and lots of angst. Many character will appear, including Jango, Hondo, Aurra, Bossk, Embo, Zam, Dengar, Todo 360, Obi-Wan Kenobi, and even Boba at some point. Oh, and let us not forget Shriv Suurgav. :)
Yes, Shriv.
You cannot stop me. Don't even try. This is my magnum opus, and by God it will make sense narratively. Just you wait. Or don't. I don't care. I am still going to write this thing if it's the last thing I ever do.
First of all, I enjoy playing around with Star Wars name generators. That is how I came up with the name of my OC, Zulara. I started sifting through them, piecing last names together with other first names, and voilà, a new name appeared to me that caught my attention.
Originally, I was looking for Durese words that maybe meant something in relation to his occupation or personality, but none of them called out. It appears others had that same idea in the past, so it makes sense to go with something new.
Anyway, my name for Cad Bane is Lumoon Troks.
Here are the outpouring of thoughts I had on the matter before I could stop myself. I came up with this over the last hour or two, and I am digging it so far. Who knows, maybe I will change my mind. It's helping me to fill in a lot of gaps, anyway, that I had in the plot, and I am happy about that.
So, I am giving Bane siblings. Two much older sisters, two brothers who are 1-2 years apart, and a younger sister who is four or five at the time Lumoon finally leaves home.
His siblings call him Lu, or Moon for short. When they want to be annoying, they call him Moody Moon, or "Lemon" because of his sour outlook ( lemons are "canon" in SW, I checked).
To sum things up briefly, Bane's mother was a kindhearted woman and his father was a gruff workaholic. They both were employed in the factories and rarely had time to spend with their family, but had too many mouths to feed.
Cad gets into trouble quite often. He runs wild in the streets from a young age. Maybe he hooks up with the wrong crowd. Nothing too menacing; some petty theft, vandalism, etc, etc.
His father's angry about it. He refuses to take on work in the factories with him. He wants more for himself. He's not about that grind day in, day out life. Things get so toxic between them that he leaves to make his own way, stops coming home, worries his mother sick, and his little sister to boot.
So much so, his little sister ( talking maybe preschool / kindergartener age ) decides she has to "bring Moon home" and takes it upon herself to find him. She loves her big brother and sorely misses him.
This does not end well. At all. The worst possible scenario unfolds. The first of many tragedies in Cad Bane's life. It deeply affects him. He tries to go to his mother; she isn't the same Duros any longer. She coldshoulders him, ignores him, and she suffers from a broken heart.
Cad blames himself. "She went out to find you and never came home." This time, he really does leave and never returns. I am sure there is a final fight between him and his father that maybe seals the deal. He takes up random jobs, anything that pays, from sex work, to being hired muscle, to thieving, to murder, you name it, as long as the pay is good and it keeps his mind off his own problems.
He learns skills along the way, and he also learns from his mistakes. Things start being a little too easy. He's tired of being bossed around. He wants to be his own boss. So, that's exactly what he becomes.
He decides to try his hand at bounty hunting. He begins to make a name for himself, except, he hasn't. He needs a new one, something intimidating, striking, and rememberable. Plus, he doesn't want his birthname floating around; that makes him vulnerable, as well as the rest of his surviving kin.
Bane's mother, in the early days of his youth, used to scold him for misbehaving. She called him the equivalent of a cad in Durese, and it translated that way from basic, something along the lines of "Lumoon! Quit being such a cad, you naughty boy!"
It means something to him. He feels it embodies what he has become. It is also a tribute to his mother as well as a punishment; something he has to live with and that he brought upon himself.
The next thing you know, one of his many enemies makes a snarky comment, saying to him, "you are the bane of my existence," or simply, "you are a bane!" From there, his new name takes shape in his mind. He thinks if you put two and two together, it sounds kind of nice. It sticks. He starts to introduce himself like that, when before he had only referred to himself as Cad.
Another misfortune befalls him, which I mentioned I wanted him to run into his sister. This would happen off-world somewhere, years later, and during the reign of the Galactic Empire. She would say something to the likes of: "Mom died. She never gave up on you. She waited for you to come home, everyday. I didn't have the heart to tell her I had seen your wanted posters."
It tears him apart for awhile. His second great tragedy. Never getting to reconcile with the Duros who raised him and whom he loved. He harbors this for the rest of his life.
Of course, running in the streets, he learns not to trust people. He's jaded. He gets fucked over a time or two, badly, and by people he thinks he can trust. He develops a shell; a way of looking at the world that allows him to keep his guard up for his own protection.
In that same vein, I believe Bane can love and that he can love hard given the right circumstances. One of the many reasons he's kept from saying it, is because every person he has ever cared about has either turned on him or dies. The galaxy is a harsh mistress. He's afraid of a repeat scenario; he doesn't let himself get close. He tells himself he's better off alone, doesn't need anybody; he prefers to run without a pack.
That is, until he meets Jango.
And, that, my friends, is a whole other story, but I want to add that Cad Bane has bad dreams. Nightmares, even. Visions. Terrible things happen, old memories replay, he is haunted by his past. The sister he couldn't save; the mother he thought had stopped loving him; the father he was never good enough to please.
Hondo compares himself to a sun, and Bane is the moon. This would fuck with him psychologically, and cause him to react unexpectantly should the nickname stick - one that is reminiscent of his childhood. It is Hondo Ohnaka in my story that saves Bane from himself after Fett meets his untimely end.
Jango, Hondo, and Shriv may call him moody from time-to-time, or grumpy, but that also does not sit well, either, considering his past.
Once Jango dies, and once he fails at training Boba, Cad is even more a wreck than before. In my story, he also does not get to reconcile with his old partner and mentor after their falling out. He drinks himself stupid in the presence of Boba to the point the boy gets fed-up and they have their duel.
Bane, in my mind, can't accept Boba as Fett's son; he is a clone; he could never accept the clone contract from the get go - it put a rift in their relationship. This adds more fuel to the "look out for yourself" fire that is his quote in the Book of Boba Fett.
Sorry this got so long-winded, but, I had to get that out as it came to me. Now, to actually write the story all these ideas are for!

OC Summary
this is my own attempt at trying to summarize my pets... Though unlike wife, most of my goals aren't complete so it's mostly In My Head, yet to be actualized on my account. Working on it though. :3
In the mean time, enjoy the flights of fancy.
Tumblr media
CHIALUXE (shee-a-loo) the rainbow Kyrii with her green meekins. (20 y/o)
A strikingly beautiful kyrii with a long, pale mane running down her back and large, grey eyes. Chi is the eldest daughter of an affluent Kyrii couple that reside in Faerieland. Vain, and elitist, her family is uniquely obsessed with looks and status, more than the average Neopian. To them, Chi is a very promising child who could go on to carry the family legacy...
... but regardless of their hopes, it doesn't stop their daughter from remaining a childish ditz well into adulthood. No matter what fancy schooling or events they try and coax her into, Chi only cares about playing with her younger sister, whom she has been enamored with since she was born. To Chi, her calling was found when Lux was born; fetching her baby sister toys and baby bottles was much more intuitive than academia.
Adopted her meekins from a litter with her sibling, where they each got to pick one. It was Lux's idea, but Chi's pushing and prodding at their parents (who are subconsciously less likely to spoil Lux...)
RESIDES: (With Lux) In her wealthy parents' manor on Faerieland, pre-fall.
Tumblr media
LUXEIY (loo-shay) the christmas/halloween Kyrii with her rainbow meekins. (14 y/o)
With clawed feet, a squinted eye, and a large birthmark across her face, Lux also stood out the moment she was born (a humble shade of green, as well)... Growing up with sheepish awareness of her parents' disappointment in her looks. As such, she was compliant for numerous attempts at 'treating' her 'disfigurements'... made to try various tonics, ointments, even expensive neggs, yet all proved fruitless.
In perfect contrast to her parents' neglect, is the doting attention she has received from her older sister her whole life. Her greatest comfort is her bond with Chi.
Lux is a bit of a savant (... for a 14 yo), juggling various hobbies, always interested in trying something new. Despite her efforts, none of her peers really seem interested in being more than acquaintances, which Lux accepts with quiet resignation. In the first place, Lux's affinity for picking up skills was formed to preoccupy herself as her parents neglect her. Once again the silver-lining is Chi's affections — so eager to praise Lux's abilities. The one person she can dazzle and impress.
Wanted a petpet badly as a child, and so Chi pushed for them to get a pair! Their meekins are siblings, just like them. While her parents don't like to spoil Lux, they are glad she at least chose something fanciful looking...
RESIDES: (With Chi) In her wealthy parents' manor on Faerieland, pre-fall.
Tumblr media
CZHOKE the checkered Aisha.
A solitary Aisha, once part of a full family, with a lot of siblings. He was a quiet, out of the way boy, though dimly interactive. A horrific tragedy befell their household, one which mangled the whole lot of the family, leaving Czhoke the survivor. Despite the objective tragedy of his circumstance, he found it didn't really make him feel anything... other than a pleasant sense of freedom. Simply wandered off after that, deciding the average Neopian lifestyle wasn't anything he'd choose again.
Found he enjoys observing pets at a distance as they amble helplessly through the Haunted Woods. Bewildered travelers, lost children, so-called adventurers... so often caught & dispatched in the dead of night. Few make it long. He doesn't intervene. Nothing urges him to leave the role of observer.
RESIDES: In the Haunted Woods, in a ramshackle shed. Enjoys random trinkets, but doesn't exactly have a furnished house. Mostly wanders, and doesn't come back to it for days at a time.
His eventual mate is Avvy's faerie/halloween Aisha Adolee, an unusual hermit-survivalist ekeing out a life on the outskirts of the woods. Finding her flitting through branches, he stalks her alone for months...
Tumblr media
HUSHHT (or just 'Hush') the starry Zafara with his cloud miamouse (10 y/o)
Originally from Roo Island, from a small household of Meerca. A fine household, but regardless, Hush is perpetually lonely, beset by inexplicable persistent neediness... He wouldn't think of himself as morose or dreary, but he's almost constantly desperate. Always feeling 'at his limit' in some strange way.
A tiny bit of attention from anyone captivates Hush, who will doggedly attempt to appease and entertain them — often to his detriment. He comes off uncomfortably clingy, almost insincerely placating... bit too over-the-top.
In an impulse to seek change, he abandons his family without warning to head towards Neopia Central... where he imagines more than the tiny Roo Island populace might offer him something...
Meets his special little miamouse in faerieland, thanks to Lilayou (who has a natural charisma with exclusively petpets!)
RESIDES: Eventually, in Faerieland (pre-fall era)...
His eventual mate is Avvy's spotted Shoyru Lilayou, a very playful but lonesome girl who entertains herself all day long in a playpen in the clouds...
Tumblr media
QHASTELI the maraquan Acara with her yellow peo.
Sadistic, capricious, and a bit melodramatic — Qhasteli imagines herself as 'master of her domain', subjugating life around her as she pleases. It may be that in reality, she is a hermit that lives in a strange ecosystem, with no one to notice when she drowns a random civilian, as much as nothing stops her from preying on pfish swimming by. Whatever the case, it doesn't change Qhasteli's perception of herself.
The ego is delusionally high, though she is smart, capable, and competent at what she does, accomplishing her goals without issue or risk. She's well-versed in various magicks, and solves all of her own problems.
Enjoys trinkets, baubles, pretty things. Her favored peo is beautiful to her. She curates her space with great deliberation; doesn't hoard wantonly.
Despite the isolation, she is very practiced at talking, enjoying listening to her own cadence, talking to herself, and the various creatures in her caverns. She's not "far gone" in that she's incoherent or clumsy with words, or foolhardy... She is well "put-together"... as murderers go.
RESIDES: A small unnamed island near Faerieland. Lives in a particular area by the shore, composed of trees with long roots that form large coral-like structures when submerged. Depending on the tide, the area feels like a mini coral reef, or a tangled system of roots to clamber over.
Her eventual mate is Avvy's baby Gelert, Luvvit. Like the trinkets in Qhasteli's collection, she is a pretty bauble to acquire. With her manicured demeanor and soft, elegant speech, Luvvit is effortlessly captivated and drawn into the illusion of Qhasteli as some sort of princess or goddess....
Tumblr media
EVENTOILLE the skunk/valentine crosspaint Ixi with his plushie tanizard, Wobbles.
Goes by "Eve". As rare twins, they were precious, beloved, and special to their parents both. While not extremely wealthy, their parents in Brightvale were the scholarly sort, and very conscientious of their twins' upbringing... They wanted to push for individuality in their children, encouraging unique hobbies, avoiding kitschy dumbed-down things suchas matching clothes or vocations... not wanting them to lack identity.
This is not appreciated. The twins hold an intense desire for symmetry, one that goes beyond anything rational.
If one is injured, the other urgently seeks to copy the wound. If one gets a black eye falling out of a tree, the other comes home with a mirrored black eye... and too-pleased about it. If one gets the Neezles, the other is desperate to contract their Neezles... their parents grew more and more concerned, and more strict about refusing absurd requests.
The twins entirely hated this awful insistence that they needed to be "different", loving NOTHING more than being just the same. Of course their parents could only push back, until the twins had enough and ran away from home together, at the tender age of 11.
Between the two, Eve tends to lead them places, make the decisions, and is generally more stubborn. He's more 'learned' and curious about their environment, knowledgeable of flora & fauna. He has an aptitude for magic.
Found his plushie tanizard dangling from a branch... she's typically flopped around over him.
RESIDES: (With Veil) In the mountain range that borders the Haunted Woods, often traveling between the base of the mountain and edge of the woods. Sometimes will make a pilgrimage to a more populated area near Central, for whatever amenities.
Tumblr media
VELLAIRIS the skunk/valentine crosspaint Ixi with her rainbow kookith (to be named.)
The more emotionally perceptive twin, often fussing over her brother, preening him. While Eve is observant of their environment, he's no good at everyday tasks like... figuring out food, when to sleep, taking care of the basic needs. Veil tends to encourage stopping to appreciate things in a whimsical way, noting the turning of leaves or a little petpetpet in the bushes...
Her rainbow kookith simply started following her one day, not long after Eve had found his tanizard. It's a charming fate that they both wound up with a little something! Normal twinning behavior!
RESIDES: (With Eve) In the mountain range that borders the Haunted Woods, often traveling between the base of the mountain and edge of the woods. Sometimes will make a pilgrimage to a more populated area near Central, for whatever amenities.
Tumblr media
SIVAARE the striped Xweetok with her catamara, Peer.
A delightful girl, always surrounded by throngs of beautiful petpets. She adores her life in her glade.
~more to be decided later, a WIP concept girlie~
Tumblr media
HOUDAI the wraith Ogrin.
A long-lived, amorphous being that can take on the form of any pet desired. Houdai's form is fluid shadow, able to be bent and twisted into nightmarish shapes, all at a whim.
It's been lost to time, and Houdai himself does not dwell on it, but he started life as a sickly young Bori living in Terror Mountain...
Born to a small and humble town in the Terror Mountains, there was no one family who truly ever took him in. Houdai's illness was a congenital deformity that left him with improperly developed back scutes. He was physically debilitated inside and out, struggling with movement. His town had neither ample resources, nor the means to transport him someplace which could tackle the ailment. He floundered in his life without consistent care, physical or emotional.
Fed up with the pain and inconvenience of his existence, Houdai exiled himself in the night to die quietly, alone along some unreachable, snowy mountainside cave. Slowly buried under piles of cold snow, this circumstance cursed Houdai into what he is, now.
... despite this, his new form isn't so depressive. He's capable now, free from strain or attachments! With a new life, he becomes curious about the world around him, the vast lands he wasn't taken to in that previous life.
... but Houdai's "true nature" it seems is, not good. Observation of greater society in this form devolves into subjugation of others to his whims, taking life capriciously. Somehow, Houdai doesn't value anything individually. He never learned to.
RESIDES: Ever-roaming across Neopia, choosing different areas to haunt, though generally preferring the wilderness and places with thick vegetation. Deep in the Haunted Woods, thickets of Mystery Island, in valleys between Shenkuu, caverns of Terror Mountain and so on.
Eventually his mate is Avvy's baby Ogrin, Hiikuu, who resides within a labyrinth. Houdai's unique body enables him to enter into it without its owner's permission. He observes her within her little bika herd, shapeshifted into a bika himself.
Tumblr media
AYQE the mutant Korbat with her valentine faellie.
~also very new girlie!! working on her!!~

wibta for continuing to refuse to tell my dad about my existence for over a year?
so i (24nb) was raised in new york by my mom with my 3 half-siblings, and spent a lot of my early life wondering about my dad (who i’d never met, and my mom didn’t know much about, lol) long story short some shit happened, i got disowned by my mom and still have a relationship with my older half-brother (jury’s still out on my younger half-siblings but i dont expect them to talk to me anytime soon lol) and so i was basically… drifting for several years until i found myself in california and settled down, went to college, and then for… complicated reasons the city i was in basically became an active warzone. my (now) fiancee (27f) saved me and i finished college and started a business as a pi. funnily enough, even though i wasn’t still actively looking for info anymore, i have a pretty distinctive appearance, and based on that and some timeline clues i was able to figure out who my dad is. i was unsure whether to pursue a relationship with that side of my family or whatever bc i already had a pretty established life outside of my family and being on my own has been kinda. a staple of my life since i was 15, but it didn’t matter as much bc he and his sibling were missing, so the only member of that family i had access to was my cousin.
which is where we get to him
so my cousin (27m) grew up thinking he was an orphan in some cult, i think he thought his parents were dead or didnt want him or something? anyways, when he was about 19 he met my dad (now 46m, at the time 38). he didn’t know my dad was his uncle at the time, but evidently my dad figured out who my cousin was pretty quick. my dad then made the decision to continue working with my cousin to fight, uh, some bad people, but did not tell the cousin about them being related. for about 6 years.
eventually my cousin’s parent (46???) resurfaces (they all thought he was dead lol) and a lot of shit happened (including that uh… whole city-being-a-warzone thing i mentioned) and it basically came out that my cousin’s parent was, well, my cousin’s parent. and then immediately after both his parent and my dad disappeared on an… extended business trip and went missing. three years later, my fiancee is dying of cancer, and decides to go on a trip to look for some experimental treatments to get rid of the cancer. after a few months of her gone, my dad and his sibling return, and two months after that, my fiancee returns (apparently she found them and got them brought back?)
a week before this, a friend of my fiancee’s (23f) went missing, and i started a search for her, but i realized there was a lot more going on than i bargained for, so after my fiancee went back, we made the decision to seek outside help. this help happened to come in the form of my dad, and his company. so basically i had to talk to my dad whether i was ready to or not, and since i definitely wasn’t, i made the decision to keep certain things from him. like the fact that he’s my dad.
so we’ve been working together for a while (we found the friend, he just also enlists my help as a pi for other cases sometimes) and i just… haven’t told him yet. here’s the fun part.
so my dad has a habit of picking on his twin for not knowing he had a kid for 25 years. my dad thinks this is hilarious, his twin and my cousin, less so. i happen to turn 25 in a few months, so i thought it’d be hilarious to wait until i’m at least 25 to drop this on him. my cousin doesn’t know, but he’d think it’s HILARIOUS, but my fiancee thinks i should tell him bc from what we’ve gathered it sounds like he’s had a good bit of tragedy surrounding his family, and my fiancee knows what thats like. one of my dads coworkers who pieced things together thinks its funny, but agrees that i should probably tell him sooner rather than later. wibta for waiting, if only for the sake of being able to turn his own joke on him and make fun of *him* for also not knowing he had a kid for 25 years, and definitely not because i’m irrationally mad at him for not knowing i exist for that long?
the reason he doesn’t know who i am already is because i make it a point to hide the distinctive features that are pretty inherent to his side of the family, not because i’m trying that hard to hide who i am from him, but because i have certain people who i don’t want to be able to identify me.
also, i realize i may have made it sound like my dad is a cop or a vigilante. he’s not a cop, i’d want nothing to do with him if he was, and vigilante isn’t exactly accurate either. mercenary might be a better term here.

Your Top 5 ships? :3
Hi there, so nice to see you in my inbox again <3
My top 5 ships, hmm? Let's start with the death note ones:
Lawlight: What can I say, enemies to lovers is my favorite. And these two are the best at it, so iconic that they could even be enemies and lovers.
Near/Sayu: Listen, I know these two don't ever meet in canon. But there is something so right about it. Sayu is Light's younger sister, Near can be considered the youngest of L's successors. They both have that younger sibling energy that fits so well together. They can even get together and bitch about their respective older sibling/guardian who are hopelessly stupid in love and then laugh about it too. I ship it.
L/Light/Misa: When two people obsessed with the same person take a look at their love rival and go "huh, I'm impressed at how you chase, we also have a lot in common, how about we get together and enlighten (heh) the one in denial?"
Remisa: Rem is Misa's constant companion and support and I believe if they had been given enough time together, Misa could have come to love and appreciate that too. This is, probably, the healthiest relationship in my ships, given that it's based on a solid foundation (of Gelus's sacrifice), and emotions over time.
A/B: I could have put mellodramatic here. The only reason A and B are here is because, well, they're a mystery with a lot of available fill-in-the-blanks-of-our-love-story. We know A died and B ran away soon after. It leads to conclusion that A mattered so much to B that B could drop everything Wammy's orphanage offered (the private education, the support structure, the connections, the money, a bright future, everything) just because A died. Imo, that takes a lot. A lot. The tragedy of their shrodinger's love story has me place them at fifth place over melodramatic.
Other ships:
I love death note but! I do have ships from other fandom that would be in the top 5 above if it weren't for the fact that most ppl expect to see a death note post on my blog. So, here's other ships below
Naruto and Sasuke (and Sakura): Using an 'and' instead of a slash or a ship name because apparently, the order of the slash is important? I think Naruto and Sasuke have a lot of chemistry and they should get together and elope together away from Konoha lmao. And and and, add Sakura in there. Sakura is determined, driven and obsessive enough to put even the biological Uchiha obsession and Uzumaki energy to shame. She wanted an Uchiha and she got herself an Uchiha, no matter a few literal Gods in her path. They all three deserve each other, to be together and have an happy ever after. Romantic or platonic, I ship them together as a Team <3
Tomarry: No, listen. In Chamber of Secrets, in the book, Harry calls Tom Riddle handsome three times. It's like he took one look at Diary Tom and forgot any word except 'handsome' existed. In Half Blood Prince, when Harry sees the pensive memories, his thoughts about Tom Riddle are all "he's going to grow up to be handsome", "even at this age, he was handsome", "his features were waxy and skin too pale but he was still a handsome man". You see? You get it? All Ginny gets is 'nice skin' and 'nice teeth', Cho Chang gets 'shiny hair'. Tom fucking Riddle gets "so handsome i forget any other word exists oh sorry you were saying Professor Dumbledore?" The movie has a lot of good scenes but it takes away Harry's internal narration that makes me me think he's so gay for Tom Riddle.
Sherliam: I don't know if you've seen Moriarty The Patriot. It's an anime adaptation of the Sherlock books with its own twist. I love it. And the Sherlock/Moriarty (William Moriarty, to be specific) is so blatant. They don't need an on-screen kiss, their chemistry is so good. Sherlock is determined to save William from himself and William is determined to martyr himself to save the world. It's so tender, I can't <3
Wangxian: wei wuxian and lan wanji have such character development, relationship development, such pining and longing and then such shamelessness, I love them. They're relationship goals, once they fix their communication misunderstanding.

The life and struggle of Merlin Ambrosius
Content warning: implied sexual assault, violence, genocide.
Merlin was born in approximately 8,000 BCE in neolithic Britain. His father was a wizard of extraordinary power and Merlin's mother was one of his many concubines taken from a conquered tribe. Merlin's father, known as the High Mage to his followers, used his magical powers to control and subjugate all the tribes around him, even taking advantage of their ignorance of how magic worked to build himself up as a quasi-religious figure. Using everything from outright magical force to religious manipulation to keep people under his thumb. He fathered dozens of children with his various concubines, training the ones who showed magical potential to serve as his lieutenants. But when any of his children showed too much promise, when it appeared that one day they might surpass the High Mage in power, he had them killed.
Merlin's mother was one of the few people who hadn't bought into the religious fever his father spread, and when her son showed magical potential, the first thing she taught him was to conceal it. To never let his father, his master, know how powerful he truly was. Merlin spent his childhood walking a razor's edge, struggling to master control of his magic, all while keeping how skilled he was becoming a secret.
Merlin's father taught him very little, but Merlin still learned a lot from him, mostly about what a wizard shouldn't be. A bully, a charlatan, a false prophet; someone with phenomenal powers who only every used them for their own selfish, petty gains. From an early age Merlin knew that magic was capable of so much more than what the High Mage used it for, that with magic there was no need for people to suffer hunger and sickness. Merlin believed magic shouldn't be used selfishly, but for the good of everyone.
The greater good.
Merlin's childhood was harsh and brutal, aside from his father there were many other dangers, thuggish older siblings drunk on the power the High Mage let them wield, jealous younger siblings who would do anything to get ahead, zealots the High Mage employed to spy on his own children. He walked eggshells for years, everyday a struggle to survive, and he lost many people along the way; his mother, friends, siblings. But at last there came a day when Merlin was strong enough to challenge the High Mage.
The battle lasted days but in the end Merlin was victorious. Killing the High Mage and declaring his reign of tyranny over and a new age of peace and cooperation would begin. Merlin thought that with the High Mage dead the worst of his struggles were behind him.
He was very very wrong.
From the start Merlin's leadership was shaky, the people who enjoyed many privileges under the High Mage's rule were reluctant to give up their power. Then there were people that still clung to the quasi-religious beliefs that the High Mage had initiated. That claimed, that for all his tyranny, the High Mage was a holy figure and Merlin killing him was an act of the worst blasphemy. Then there were the people who were more open minded, but still couldn't understand the limits of what magic could and couldn't do. Merlin was constantly frustrated trying to lay out and explain to people things that just came so easily to him; that just because he could dam a flooding river didn't mean he could bring the dead back to life.
As hard as it was Merlin struggled on and kept at it, leading and protecting the community, teaching children talented in magic as his apprentices, determined to do better and use magic to create the perfect world he imagined.
Then one day tragedy struck.
When Merlin was just about 300 years old one of his young apprentices started pushing him about receiving her staff. Merlin had the utmost faith in her talent, but knew that staffs could be used to channel enormous amounts of power that required years of experience to control, experience that she did not have. He turned her down, reassuring his faith in her abilities and gently urging patience.
The apprentice didn't listen, and created her own staff in secret. And in her first time using it summoned more power than she could possibly control.
Merlin tried to help and contain the massive rush of magical energy but it was too late. The apprentice annihilated herself and everything in a twenty mile radius, and for all of Merlin's power he was only able to shield himself from the blast. Merlin stood there, surrounded by the ashes of everything he'd worked so hard to create, and was overcome with despair. Paralyzed with helplessness and the futility of his actions. Merlin fell to the ground and didn't move from where he lay.
He stayed there on the ground for hours, not moving an inch, not even when when day turned to night.
Not even when a troop of Gumm Gumms came passing through.
Spotting Merlin lying there, not responding to their spear prodding, the Gumm Gumms concluded that Merlin must be insane and tossed him in their cart to eat later.
This whole time Merlin didn't react in the slightest, allowing the Gumm Gumms to haul him underground. He had just resigned himself to being eaten when he realized that the Gumm Gumms hadn't brought him back to camp, they'd brought him to the front lines.
Where they were raiding a small troll village.
In that instant in his mind Merlin was a child again, helplessly watching his father and older siblings lay waste to an unsuspecting tribe with their magic.
Merlin shot to his feet and, using the full might of his magical skills and power, drove the Gumm Gumms away.
Once the Gumm Gumms were gone Merlin was about to sink into back into despair, when the trolls he saved approached him and insisted that he stay with them. Merlin still insisted he was no one's savior, but didn't have the will to resist them.
This is when he met Gorgus the Great, who would later be known as one of the greatest heroes in troll history, and one of Merlin's oldest friends.
Gorgus told him that just because he failed didn't mean he couldn't fulfill his goal of creating a better world, saving the troll village from the Gumm Gumms was proof that he was still capable of great things.
Merlin sharply retorts that he spent three hundred years trying to create a better world with nothing to show for it but ashes.
Gorgus slaps their knee and laughs, saying that they've been battling Gumm Gumms for over four thousand years, and that by troll standards Merlin's barely more than a child.
Stunned by this revelation, Merlin slowly starts to listen, realizing that for all his three hundred years studying magic, the world is so much larger than he imagined, and that there is much he does not know.
Merlin stays with the trolls for many years, flourishing under the tutelage of trusted teachers for the first time in his life, slowly regaining hope.
Magic can be used to help people, trolls and how they worked magic into their lives are proof of that. And while the world may never be perfect, Merlin can use his magic to make it a better place.
After two centuries studying with them Merlin bids his troll friends farewell and returns to the human world, determined to forge a better world.
And he does. Merlin spends centuries, which turn into millennia, traveling, teaching, sharing knowledge and building kingdoms. Sometimes he stumbles, people let him down and things fall apart, but Merlin always picks himself back up and keeps going, never giving in to despair.
But in refusing to give in to despair he succumbs to something else, cynicism. Little by little Merlin loses faith in the people around him, which leads him to start doing more dubious things in the name of the "greater good".
The young warlord will never listen to Merlin's sound advice, so why not manipulate him into making the right decision? Hearing that her son fled the battle like a coward will only drive the queen to hysteria, so why not lie and say he died heroically?
And as the years go by, Merlin going from a young man to an old one, having surpassed or outlived all the wizards before him something else creeps in, arrogance. He has lived so long and has seen so much he has become very wise, but no longer believes that he can be incorrect about anything. Unable to tell the difference between what he considers "the greater good" and what would truly be best for everyone.
By the time of Camelot Merlin has become almost unrecognizable to his young self. He still fights for the greater good, that hasn't changed, but he's allowed himself to fall far in what he considers "the greater good". Camelot may subjugate magical creatures and magical users, innocents undoubtedly suffering, but that's a small price to pay to protect the majority and ensure another figure like the high Mage doesn't rise. Arthur may be short tempered and thuggish, but he's a monarch that Merlin knows he can manipulate down the right path.
He'd be the first to admit that Camelot is far from perfect, but Merlin believes that it's the best that can be achieved.
It takes the efforts of his apprentice, a young wizard full of as much fire and idealism as he once was, to shatter Merlin's shell and have him believe again in things being better.

Weapons - The student council was given various items to be use as weapons; some from the garden shed to even labs, the gym and even guns which seem to be from the Japan Self-Defense Forces and the only way to get those order is if you work for the military or have a talent in it.

Control Room Open - When Nagi and Yamato walk in, they discover the control room was open and found some evidence.
Control for Gate - Nagi and Yamato found the gate in the control room, it was created by TOWA Corp.
Letter - There is a ripped letter and it seems the Steering Committee wanted to get rid of the Student Council as they were close to discovering the Hope’s Peak Academy’s Elementary School Division.
'-As say, to make sure Hope’s Peak is standing for future generations; we need to make sure that the student council don’t look into Hope’s Peak Academy’s Elementary School Division.
So to make sure that it doesn’t get expose, you can blackmail or threaten them as you like. Just make sure you get rid of them by any means necessary, no matter what it takes you must make sure they stop with their investigation.
From Hope’s Peak Academy’s Steering Committee.’
Hope Cultivation Plan - Hope’s Peak had this project called the ‘Izuru Kamukura Project’ which is say to use the Reserve Course as Lab Rats.
Nagi's NDA - it's reveal that Nagi didn't sign an NDA after the tragedy due to the situation going on with the teachers which Nagi reveal the tragedy of Hope's Peak to Class 77-B.
[UPDATED] Class 77-B's teacher - The mysterious teacher of Class 77-B, not much is known about her but she causes fear in her students. Nagi notice how she seems to let Hiyoko bully or even outright encourage it which causes Nagi to leave. As the teacher return, the teacher got upset that Hiyoko drop out and started to beat up Mikan as to find out what happen to Hiyoko.

I’ve never stopped thinking about what we talked about on the day I was planning to leave, how you told me I couldn’t run from this, and you’re right. I was afraid of the consequences for something I never even wanted to be a part of, but after all this, if anyone deserves to lead the world into a better tomorrow, it’s people like you and Makoto.
I’m telling this to you now in case I turn out to be right and I get executed for all this. I’m going to tell them everything, about the project and my involvement. I hope that, in some way, it can help make things a little easier for you, Hajime and everyone else. I regret ever agreeing to the project; if I’d known what it involved right from day one, I swear to you I would’ve stopped. I just wanted to do something good for the world, not hurt people like this.
But I can’t run away from the truth anymore. I need to face the consequences. And if I don’t see you again, I want you to to know I always considered you a friend. Whatever happens from here on out, I hope things start looking up for you all. Take care of yourselves.

Summary: When Sizhui, Jingyi, and Zizhen are captured with Jin Ling at the Guanyin Temple, they're sure that Hanguang Jun and Wei Wuxian will fix everything - until Su She stabs Lan Wangji through the stomach, and everything falls apart around them. In a last, frantic attempt to undo the damage Jin Guangyao has done, Wei Wuxian activates a deadly array to send the four juniors back in time, sending them to the morning of Jin Ling's one-month celebration. With the fate of everyone and everything they love in their hands, Sizhui, Jin Ling, Zizhen and Jingyi race to prevent the ambush at Qiongqi Pass and the subsequent fallout, but Jin Guangyao has returned from the future as well, and he has no intention of letting what he wants fall through his hands a second time.
My comments: Okay, wow, this was so epic, it's hard to break down. The gist of it is that the four juniors get sent back in time from a moment of utter tragedy and overwhelming loss to fix the future. So they're all pretty fucking traumatized from the get-go. (Future Jin Guangyao is a complete and terrifying psychopath.)
If I had to pick 3 tags to describe the story it'd be WHUMP, H/C and BONDING. So, author doesn't hold back on the violence, which I fully endorse and devour. (I might have rated this one an M, actually, just for graphic violence and stressful situations.) Everyone gets a turn to be utterly beat up if not straight up tortured. POV is multiple, and that includes everyone (I never expected to admire and empathize with Jin Zixuan so much!). BUT, before you run away screaming, know that there is soooo much comfort and healing and bonding going on, throughout whatever the current trauma is (there are many) as well as after. I did a quick search, and there are 102 uses of "I love you", and it's not limited to wangxian. wwx says it to jiang cheng and a-yuan and all the poor time-travelling teens who have just lost everything and everyone in their entire worlds and suddenly are only a few years younger than their 'fathers'. The juniors say it to each other and their dads. jyl says it to everyone. the lan bros say it, the nie brothers say it. Everybody is just so fucking supportive and trying so hard and they just have faced what a world could be like if they DON'T communicate, and so by god, they're not gonna go that route, and also, no one's gonna let them forget it.
I really, really loved how all the time travelers latched onto their 'parents' and the relationships that they grew: with them, with their families and with their itty bitty counterparts. It highlighted the Juniors' innocence (and trauma) to be compared to people only a few years older and yet so much more mature and experienced because of having been through the war.
So. An epic, plotty, TASTY time travel fix it that features everyone and the way they all fit into each other's lives, getting into situations that are truly terrifying that have NO EXIT, being hurt and watching it happen to people you love, and lots of escapes-by-the-skin-of-their-teeth-and-please-god-are-they-still-breathing. It's an excellent and satisfying balance.
time travel, fix it, angst, whump, captivity, hostage situations, threat of torture, hurt everybody, temporary character death, hurt/comfort, emotional hurt/comfort, tearjerker, feels, you will cry, self-sacrifice, POV multiple, adorable juniors, traumatized juniors, adorable a-yuan, qiongqi path ambush canon divergence, family feels, future reveal, jin zixuan lives, jiang yanli lives, wen remnants live, golden core reveal, found family, jiang sibling feels, pining, idiots in love, love confessions, first kiss, cuddling & snuggling, platonic cuddling, qi deviation, golden core surgery, baby golden core, wei wuxian is a good dad, lan wangji is a good dad, communication, nightmares, PTSD, panic attacks, wedding, adoption, cynophobia, wei wuxian’s fear of dogs, puppy therapy, healing, recovery, fix it, epic, parent-child relationship, father-son relationship, happy ending, favorite
