While Yoongi realizes that Jimin might not be that much different from you than he thought, and Jimin starts to accept the fact that he's no longer your number one, Jungkook starts to develop feelings towards you that he's never really felt towards anyone before.

Jimin has noticed a new issue, every morning when he wakes you up before he goes to work.
Usually, you'll be sprawled out like a starfish in your pink fairytale canopy bed, all comfy and tired and a little grumpy, most of the time. But these days, he can sometimes only spot maybe a leg peeking out from beneath the blankets and stuffed toys now littering your bed.
It's Jeon Jungkook's fault, the dog boy having been showering you with things he deems you should have left and right- even worse than Jimin himself used to do.
Yoongi has been explaining to him that Jungkook isn't fully aware of the cause of his behavior yet- after all, the canine hybrid has never really been so strongly romantically interested in anyone before. Sure, Jungkook has had someone he was seeing intimately here and there before, but never a full blown relationship. It came with the stigma around him and his breed- most other hybrids tend to steer clear of him, and rather keep him at an arms length, so to speak.
He'd always been good for some fun for others- but no one ever took him seriously, so the canine hybrid had simply lost interest in romance entirely at some point.
So, considering you very much don't just see him as a quick fuck while simultaneously being very open about what he can and can't do with you, it makes it all the more unsurprising that the dog hybrid has been growing feelings for you. And if anything, Yoongi has been growing increasingly frustrated with the both of you- because you're both just so insanely oblivious.
Jungkook finds tons of excuses as to why your behavior towards him could just be friendly in nature, and not intimate or romantic- and so do you, constantly.
Cuddling? You're just very touchy, you cuddled with Jimin all the time, so now that he's more occupied with Yoongi it's only logical you'd go and find someone else to provide comfort for you.
Jungkook gifting you stuff that's originally his own? He's just happy to have a new friend, and probably believes that he can keep your interest in him with casual gifts. Or maybe he just wants someplace to dump his old stuff.
purring and bumping into him? You just like attention, and this is the most typical cat-way of gaining attention he could think of.
It's stupid, the way you both clearly are interested in each other- and yet find millions of excuses as to why the other isn't.
"Hey, princess-" Jimin hums, moving a large green dinosaur plush to the side to reveal your face. "-come on, let's get up now, hm?" He asks, and you look at him with a slightly hazy look for a moment, before you clear up. Your cheeks are flushed as you stretch, before you cringe at yourself- and Jimin can only assume why. "You wanna go clean up while I make breakfast?" He chuckles, and you nod, groggily untangling yourself from the blankets to go inside the bathroom, while Jimin moves to change the sheets.
He's gonna have to check in with the local heat-hotel for a room for you- the slightly darkened patch on your sheets and the clear signs in your behavior giving him the last reminder that you're probably close to your heat.
♥━━━━━━━━━━•.♡.•━━━━━━━━━━━━♥
When you don't visit yet again, Jungkook becomes a little restless as he watches the window, Jimin leaving the house to go to work. "Do you think she's sick?" Jungkook wonders towards Yoongi, who simply shrugs with his coffee.
"Don't think so. Jimin said she's close to her heat so that's probably why she's staying at home." He casually mentions, making Jungkook freeze for a good moment, before he looks over again.
The dog hybrid hasn't actually ever thought about that.
He has been smelling something unique coming from your garden yesterday when you were taking a nap out in the grass on a blanket- but he didn't actually connect the dots that that enticing smell had been you. And if you're just close to your heat and not actually in it yet, and you're already smelling so nice, how much would it change when you were actually fully in it?
Suddenly, his brain starts to create rather.. scandalous scenarios.
You probably wear underwear that's just as cute as all your dresses and skirts and blouses- little bows decorating the pastel colored fabric covering your most intimate parts. With the amount of time and care you put into your skincare all the time, you must feel like absolute heaven- and he wonders what your reaction would be if he was to explore his theory with kisses on your skin. You get so awfully cute when you're shy- he loves the way you blush sometimes, or hide away in embarrassment- would that be what you'd do if he was to approach you with intentions of lust?
He's sure he wouldn't be able to control himself if you were to lay in his bed, behind raised up and soft tail curled over, presenting your body to him, quietly begging for him to breed you. He'd make sure you wouldn't have to suffer at all during your entire heat- and now he has to think about the fact that by now, your bed must be absolutely littered with the things he gave you.
Good. His scent is probably all around you now. Have you started to give into your instincts already? Now he has to think about you amongst his sheets, your hands between your soft thighs-
"i-Im gonna go shower real quick!" Jungkook suddenly bursts out, fleeing the scene and leaving a laughing Yoongi behind.

Throughout the day, Jungkook tries to distract himself, even when Jimin visits later after work, sitting in the living room with Yoongi. He's making himself a snack when he overhears the conversation going on- ears instantly tilting towards the two at the sound of your name spoken.
"They said it's full, and the other one is hours away." Jimin sighs, running a hand through his hair.
"What about surpressants? I mean, it's pretty much an emergency now." He suggests, unsure. Jungkook doesn't go into heat after all- his rut has only been set off a handful of times in the past, and it only took the hybrid a day or two to snap back out of it. Yoongi has never had to deal with hybrid heats before- so he's unsure what to really say now. Jungkook cringes as the mention of surpressants, though.
"I'd honestly rather avoid that. She's allergic to most blockers, and those liquid sirups for kittens makes her nauseous and miserable. Ah, this is horrible!" Jimin complains, putting down his phone.
"And a heat partner?" Yoongi asks, making Jungkook swallow down a growl of his own- something his owner notices briefly, though he brushes it off as him maybe having spotted something outside that probably set him off a little. "That way she'd be through with it quicker, right?" He wonders, and Jimin shakes his head.
"She.. never had a heat partner before." He reveals. "And she doesn't like the idea of one either. She's a bit scared of sex, mostly because she's never experienced it before." He shrugs, crossing his arms.
"I mean, they're tested and everything though. She'd be safe, and those people know what they're doing-" He starts, and by now, Jungkook can't hold himself back anymore.
"If-!" He buts in, sitting down on the couch, trying to seem nonchalant but failing miserably. "If, you know, she doesn't want to, you shouldn't push her. Hybrids in heat can often make decisions they'll regret later." He offers, and Yoongi looks at him with suspicion, before he smirks, sharing a glance with Jimin. "What?" The dog hybrid asks, when Jimin seems to catch on.
"You think-?" He starts, and Yoongi shrugs.
"She's pretty comfy with him. Likes him." He says. "If you talk to her about it now she'll be clear enough in the head to make a decision too. And Jungkookie can surely be gentle, I imagine." He teases the now red-faced and wide eyed hybrid, who looks like he's being held at gunpoint.
"Would you do that, Jungkook?" Jimin wonders, looking rather.. serious. "Help her, I mean? I'd leave the house in your care for the time being. She usually takes a week at max- so you'd have to take time off." He says, and Jungkook swallows hard.
"I mean.. it's up to her." He shakes his head. "I won't decide anything without asking her first." He denies, and at that, Jimin suddenly smiles softly.
"Then I think Yoongi is right." He nods. "You could be the perfect solution."
♥━━━━━━━━━━•.♡.•━━━━━━━━━━━━♥
"I'm not having sex." You deny, crawling up into a corner on your bed, away from Jungkook who sits on the edge of it. "Nuh-uh." You shake your head, crossing your arms.
"We don't have to." Jungkook agrees, staying where he is and respecting your need for distance. "But without help, you'll be miserable." He reminds you, and you huff to yourself.
"I'll be fine." You argue. "I wanna stay at a hotel."
"The hotels are full." Jungkook sighs. "Jiminie has been trying to squeeze you in for days now, they don't have any space anymore." He softly says, trying to push through your clear anxiety. "Do you want a female heat partner then?" He wonders, and you shake your head.
"I don't want anyone!" You snap at him, ears pinned back, and Jungkook nods- until he spots your eyes tearing up.
"Hey, I'm sorry I pushed it-" He starts, but you shake your head again, pulling your legs closer to yourself.
"I- ugh, this is so stupid!" You yell, attempting to throw a babyblue dog plus, before you rather hold it close, as if feeling guilty for trying to cause it harm. "I wanna.. I don't wanna have sex." You growl at no one, pushing your face into the dog's soft fur. "I don't wanna be alone.!" You whine, and Jungkook can't help but whimper under his breath as well, your distress making him equally nervous. He needs to make you feel better.
"Do you just want company?" He asks. "I can just be here, I won't touch you-"
"But I want that!" You finally burst out. "I want that- but I don't want that!" You complain, and suddenly, something clicks.
"We don't have to have that kind of sex." He reassures you. "I can do other stuff to help you. I don't have to, you know, be inside you." He says, and at that, you look at him.
"That's bullshit." You huff. "You'd get nothing out of it then." You say.
"I'd be close to you." He shrugs. "And I'd get to help you. Sounds good to me."
"What if your rut starts? Then you'll just.. do it, because I won't be complaining about it with my sex-hungry brain, and-" You hiccup, swallowing thickly. "-and then I'd hate you, and I don't wanna hate you-"
"Hey, kitty, princess, no." He shakes his head. "I'm not like that. If you say you draw the line at penetrative sex, I'll respect that." He tells you, and you take a moment to calm down, breath slowing down to a more reasonable pace.
"why?" You wonder quietly, watching him intently now.
"Because I don't want you to be miserable." He offers. "I want to help you, because.. I care about you."
"I'm constantly mean to you." You huff.
"You're not, actually. You're a bit.. rough around the edges, yeah, but you're a nice person." He smiles encouragingly. "You're.. I- uhm.." He looks down at his hands for a moment. "Uhm, this might be a really bad moment, forget-"
"No!" You suddenly say, dashing forward, looking at him with wide open eyes, desperation clear in your face. "S-.. say it.?" You almost whisper, and as he looks at you, feels your warm hand on his, he realizes it fully himself as well.
"I like you." He says, quietly. "And I.. want you. I'm not sure- I.. don't really know, this is a first for me, I've never really.. felt like that about someone before. And I'm not making that up." He chuckles nervously. At that, you sit cross legged now, closer to him, entire posture having changed now.
"Me neither-" You tell him with wonder, before you shake your head, correcting yourself. "Like- the part about feelings and stuff, not the part about making stuff up-" You rant, and he laughs, cheeks a bit red.
"So we'll just.. see where it goes?" He asks, and you nod after a moment.
"Guess so." You smile shyly.
♥━━━━━━━━━━•.♡.•━━━━━━━━━━━━♥
"You'll get used to it." Yoongi reassures Jimin, who's been noticeably down these past few days, watching the dog hybrid constantly roam around you, basically having entirely taken over the place Jimin once filled in your life. "When Jungkook started working, I felt like that too." He tells his now boyfriend, who looks at him a little unconvinced.
"I feel like she hates me now." He sighs, watching how Jungkook pulls on your leg to get you out of the way, you having napped right in the middle of the hallway, blocking the way out the bathroom. You're laughing, clearly being a menace for no other reason than to get onto the dog hybrid's nerves- but it's not really working, since he instead just plays around with you. "She doesn't need me at all."
"And that's a good thing." Yoongi shrugs. "She deserves to be independent. And emotionally, she will always need you. You'll just have to.. share that attention now." He offers as an explanation, and Jimin sits back in his chair, sighing.
"…but I don't want to." He mumbles to himself, making Yoongi laugh as he takes a sip from his coffee.
"You sound just like her." The oldest teases, watching how Jungkook is now leaned over you, your behind pushing suspiciously into him. "Hey, not in the hallway you horny idiots!" He barks out, causing both Jungkook and you to snap out of the moment, getting up in embarrassment, before you push the dog and run outside into the backyard, initiating a game of tag to get rid of the awkwardness.
"I'm just.. so used to being her number one. And now I'm not." Jimin sighs, turning his head a bit to look outside where it's become suspiciously quiet.
"Well, better get over it you big baby." Yoongi teases, getting up and running a hand over his head as he passes by. "You can be my number one now." He passes by-
before his voice is heard again outside, yelling at both of you to get back inside where he can see you, Jungkook and you laughing as you run away from the playfully frustrated human.
♥━━━━━━━━━━•.♡.•━━━━━━━━━━━━♥
You know exactly what you're doing- and so does he.
It's like you're both in a war, trying to see who's gonna break first- him or you. You've started to run around in the shortest shorts and cropped tops, tail always held high to make sure he always get's a good whiff of your scent whenever you pass him- eyes constantly searching for his reaction, proving to him that you're doing this on purpose. You've also begun to scent his clothes, steal his stuff, and enter any room he's in just to knock something over or gain his attention, before you dash away again, zoomies a constant occurrence.
But he's not just letting himself be beat up like this.
From casually walking shirtless, flaunting his physique and tattoos in the process, to running his fingers up and down your back, right on your spine, stopping at the base of your tail whenever he reaches it. He knows you're close by now, but you're still not letting yourself go just yet, seemingly testing if he's just as good at controlling his urges as he said he'd be. And he's very much eager to prove himself to you.
Jimin and Yoongi are staying at his house, while the younger human has gifted Jungkook the keys to the house you're normally occupying with Jimin, offering him some privacy during your heat- but also probably to have some alone time with his own partner now as well.
Nevertheless, Jungkook wonders what the next few days will bring. What will you need to feel good? What does he have to provide in order to make you comfortable? He's never been so anxious about sex or anything about it before, apart from maybe his first time when he was a teenager still. But with you, it's somehow different again- he wants to make sure you know that he's not only interested in you in terms of lust-
but maybe love, too.
He's currently prepping the last few things- fridge stuffed with your favorite snacks he'd ordered, when he notices a shift in the air. You've not really gotten up this morning, but he'd just guessed that you might just wanted to sleep longer. Jungkook had slept on the couch downstairs in the living room, so he's not really checked up on you yet- but maybe he should.
The moment he opens your bedroom door, he's practically attacked by your scent- like a solid concrete wall it pushes him back a little, as he swallows down any instincts for now, instead searching for you amongst what can only be described as chaos.
All the blankets are thrown all over the place. Plush animals are on the floor and the bed, the sheets are crumpled up and pushed around- but most of all, you're nowhere in sight. Even as he calls your name you won't show yourself- and it sets him off a little, as he enters the room and uses his hybrid senses to somehow track you down.
It leads him into the connected bathroom, where he finds you nesting in the empty tub- skin flushed, a bit of sweat on your forehead as you whine, complaining about the light bleeding into the otherwise dark room. You'd put up a towel over the window to keep out the sunlight.
He feels his fingers itching to offer you some sort of comfort, but he's also a bit hesitant. He needs a moment to collect himself, make a mental plan about how to help you, because you're obviously distressed and in full heat now. What he doesn't understand is why you wouldn't seek him out at all- even now, with him in the room, and you having obviously recognized him, you don't ask for anything at all. If anything, you seem sick.
Something's not right.
"Do you wanna maybe sleep somewhere else?" He carefully asks, but you shake your head, tail between your legs slightly sticky with the slick between your thighs- but the smell of distress and the sight of you in clear discomfort makes none of it affect him in a sexual way. "No?" He repeats, and you continue to shake your head once more, rather nuzzling into what he now recognizes is his sweater he'd taken off yesterday.
"No.." You deny, squeezing your eyes closed. "I'm too hot anywhere else.." You slur a little, curling up more as if to seek comfort. Jungkook feels his own instincts flaring up, protectiveness filling his brain as his brain works with every little cell to create a solution for you. Jimin didn't mention any of this at all. Jungkook doesn't know if this is normal or not for you- he only knows that he's never seen behavior like that.
So he walks out the bathroom, quietly, closes the door and makes his way to grab his phone, calling your owner. "Jungkook?" Jimin answers quickly, reassuring the dog hybrid at least for the moment. "Everything alright? Do you need something?"
"She's nesting in the bathroom." He rushes out instead of properly answering or greeting the human at all. "And she seems to have a fever- is this normal for her?" Jungkook worries. "She seems distressed- she smells so upset, what do I do?" He asks, and Jimin sighs on the other line, before he answers.
"We've been to doctors before already. It sometimes happens-" Jimin explains, his tone sounding rather defeated. "-no one really knows why. I'll come over and take over-" He starts, but Jungkook immediately cuts him off.
"No no no, tell me what usually helps? I wanna take care of her, please." He asks, and Jimin looks at Yoongi for a second, unsure- before he makes the decision. It feels like he's officially giving you away and out of his care- but maybe Yoongi is right.
Maybe it's time to not be selfish, and change.
"Okay." He says, before he starts to give the dog hybrid instructions on what to do.

hiii !! could you please do percy x apollo reader where she's like this super sunny girl and everyone thought that her and her ex were perfect together but her ex ends up breaking up with her after losing interest. and maybe the breakup kind of splits everyone into sides because it was healthy but also heartbreaking (and percy, without even knowing, is somehow is her #1 advocate to everyone even if they don't know each other / barely ever talked before) and everyone watches as she slowly loses her spark and stops showing up for things, stays in bed all day, stuff like that and percy suddenly feels her absence and has enough of it and helps her pick up the pieces of her heart. he doesn't really pressure her to date or anything he just tries to be there for her by brightening her mood and teasing her and stuff and eventually he helps her move on from her ex. and like maybe a couple months pass of them being friends but also lowkey more than that and she confesses to him after annabeth or her friend makes her realize that she actually like LIKES percy when she loses it in a mad or a sad way at the sight of him with another girl (and she usually has her emotions in control) but yeah thats basically it !! thank u for reading this :)) hope ur having a good dayy

You, along with pretty much everyone else at camp, thought that your relationship was perfect. Being with your boyfriend was like a fairytale to you, but apparently it wasn't for him.
"Hey, so um, thanks for meeting me. I hope this isn't too random, but I just don't think our relationship is working anymore, and I think you feel it too," he says, looking into your eyes. If you weren't so in love with him, you probably would've smacked the crap out of him for this. You'd never been happier in your relationship, and he thought it wasn't working? You weren't quite sure if you were mad or sad in this moment.
"Oh. If that's what you think, then I agree," you reply, sadly smiling at him, trying to pretend that your heart wasn't breaking into a million little pieces.
"Alright, I still really like you and I hope we can be friends still," he says, and you know that he's saying it without malicious intent because he really is a good guy, which makes you even more frustrated.
"Sure, of course we can."
He gives you a hug and tells you to have a good day.
How are you supposed to have a good day when you just got dumped by the love of your life? You genuinely wished you could be mad at him, but he was just such a genuine and nice guy that you couldn't. You know that he only said it out of the good of his heart and because he didn't want the relationship to actually go downhill, but you were still frustrated and sad.
As if your day wasn't bad enough already, news of your breakup had already spread throughout camp, and everyone was looking at you with sympathetic looks. You had hoped to the gods that you could go at least a day before this happened, but of course not.
You got your food and sat down at your table, your siblings immediately crowding around you and asking you questions and trying to comfort you. You could hear people at the other tables talking about the breakup, and from what you could hear, people were taking "sides" in your breakup, even when they thought it was mutual.
"Hey, I heard about what happened. I'm so sorry, but we're all here for you, okay?" You hear one of your sisters say, but it doesn't really register. At this point, you feel numb, and you aren't really hearing anything people are saying anymore.
Later that day, you're sitting by the river, small sniffles being all you can manage to muster up after crying your heart out for the last 45 minutes. You're looking out at the water, thinking about what went wrong, when you hear footsteps approaching.
"Are you okay?" You hear an unfamiliar voice ask.
You don't even bother looking up. It's probably just another person here to tell you how they're on your side.
"No, but it's fine," you reply.
The person sits down next to you, and you finally look over, finding Percy Jackson sitting to your right.
He looks back at you, "hey, I'm Percy. Sorry if I'm interrupting, but I was just coming over to swim and I heard you crying."
"No, it's fine. I don't own the beach," you weakly laugh. "My boyfriend broke up with me today, if you're wondering why I'm crying."
"Yeah, I heard about that. I'm really sorry that happened to you, you seem really sweet."
"Thanks, but it's okay. He wasn't rude about it or anything, just said that he didn't think our relationship was working and that he hoped he could still be friends," you muttered.
He makes a sympathetic sound then says, "that's almost worse. I'd hate to be on the receiving end of that, especially if the person is genuine."
"Yeah, it really broke my heart. He was so genuine about it, and that's what really hurt. He still cares about me but he just doesn't love me anymore," your voice cracks in the middle of your sentence, and you look back at the water.
"Jeez, that seriously sucks. But hey, I'm sure it's not you that was the problem, maybe what he wanted in a relationship just changed?" It sounded like he was going to say more, but you made a sob-like sound and he immediately shut his mouth.
"I'm sorry, I'm really not good at this," he says awkwardly after a moment of silence.
"It's okay. If it helps, I do feel a bit better at least. You're not as bad as you think you are," you look over at him and he's already looking at you.
The two of you talk a bit more, before you excuse yourself to your cabin, not telling him why, but he suspected that you were going to cry more, and it made him sad to see you like this.
The two of you weren't friends, you were barely even acquaintances, but Percy now felt responsible for defending you. Every time he overheard a conversation where people were taking your ex-boyfriend's side, he would walk over there and set them straight, telling them how great you were and how the breakup wasn't your fault at all, and he should've been grateful to have you, even though the breakup wasn't messy at all.
People started to joke that he was the leader of your fan club, which secretly made him feel all weird inside. At the time he didn't know what he was feeling, but when he looked back at it, he knew that this was when he started to fall in love with you.
If, even a month ago, someone would've told Percy that the girl he'd always had a tiny crush on would've been single, and he was now openly defending you like his life depended on it, he would've first told them there's no way you did anything wrong, so what was he even defending you from? And second, he absolutely does not have a crush on you. Lastly, he would ask if you were really single, but not that he was asking for himself, he was definitely asking for a friend.
"Dude, you need to calm down defending her. She's not gonna let you hit just because you're taking her side," some camper makes the mistake of saying to his face.
"What the hell is your problem? Not everyone is trying to get a girl to 'let him hit.' Some of us are just decent human beings defending our friends," Percy says, before promptly soaking the guy in water and walking away.
This incident was just one of many where a camper makes the mistake of talking bad about you. At this point, he was one of the two people at camp that didn't know he was falling for you. You were the other, obviously, because how could you know someone else was in love with you when you were busy wallowing in your sorrows in your cabin?
About a week after you were broken up with, you began to distance yourself from all of the activities at camp, including the ones that once brought you so much joy. You'd never thought of yourself to be someone that would drown in their own sorrows, but then again, you'd never really experienced anything that would've proved yourself otherwise.
So, here you were, cuddled up in bed under about 5 blankets, mascara stains under your eyes, a box of tissues next to you, and another romcom on the TV, when you could've been outside doing archery or in the infirmary gossiping with your siblings like you would've done before the breakup. Your heart was aching so badly that you could barely even wake up in the morning. After your talk with Percy, you thought that it was easing up, even though that was only hours after the breakup actually happened, but you couldn't have been more wrong.
After a few days of this behavior from you, Percy was sick of it. He was sick of not being able to see you, and he was sick of you being sad. He went to the Stoll brothers and asked them to smuggle some ice cream in for him, as well as a stuffed animal and paid them extra to do it as fast as they could.
Every few hours, your siblings and friends would come into the cabin and check up on you, sometimes staying to watch a movie or two with you before leaving again and telling you to come get them if you needed anything. You heard the door to the cabin open again. Thinking it was just another one of your siblings, you ignored it and continued watching your movie. What you didn't expect was for Percy Jackson to be standing in front of you mere seconds later.
"Hey, I'm sorry it took me so long to stop by. I brought some ice cream, I don't know if it'll help or if you even like this flavor, but I thought it might help," he says, an awkward smile on his face, awaiting a response.
"Oh, well, thank you," you say, wiping your face, now slightly embarrassed about the mascara that was staining it.
"Hey, don't worry about the mascara, I get it. Well, I don't get it get it, but y'know what I mean, right?"
You let out a small laugh. "Yes, Percy, I get what you mean."
"Oh! I also brought this teddy-bear. It's the sunshine care bear, 'cause you're an Apollo kid," he smiles.
"Aww, thank you so much, Percy. It means a lot to me. Do you want to stay and watch movies with me?" You ask, desperately hoping he'll say yes.
"Yeah, yeah, sure. I'd love to," he replies.
You scoot over in the bed, patting the spot next to you, signaling Percy to sit down, and he obliges.
"So, what are we watching?" He asks.
"Well, I'm starting to run out of romcoms, so I've started to rewatch some. We're about to watch 10 Things I Hate About You," you say with a smile.
"What's it about?"
You explain the plot, and he listens with genuine interest.
This situation happens a few more times, before he finally asks you if you're ready to come back to camp activities. He doesn't add that he misses you when he's out there, but he desperately wants to. He refrains from any flirting because he doesn't want to pressure you, but it kills him to not be able to tell you how much he already likes you, even after just a few days of hanging out with you.
You tell him yes, and you'll be back to doing your activities tomorrow, to which he's overjoyed. He's never been happier in his life, and the two of you aren't even dating. Even when you are ready to date, if you still don't like him, he realizes that he would be happy just to be your friend.
When you're back to your regular responsibilities at camp, you realize just how much you've missed it. It takes a bit before you get back into the ropes of archery, but one wouldn't say you were bad. As an Apollo kid, you could never really be bad at archery, which you appreciated. Once you'd gotten the hang of it again, you realized how much you missed it. Archery had always been relaxing to you, not just because you were a daughter of Apollo. Even before you'd come to camp, your mother had you in archery lessons, and you'd enjoyed it even then. You were fully concentrating until you heard a familiar voice calling to you.
"Hey, I'm glad you're back out here. It's so good to have you back," Percy says, pulling you into a hug, the very first hug the two of you had ever shared. It was surprising at first, but you quickly melted into it.
"Yeah, I'm so glad to be back out here. I missed it so much. I owe you so much for getting me out of that bed, I was miserable."
He blushes. "Nah, it's fine. I knew you would feel better being out here, you love it too much to stay holed up in there, even if those romcoms were good," he jokes.
"Right? I knew you liked them," you say with a smile. "But yeah, you're right. I love being out here with everyone, and I love archery too much to give it up to cry over a boy."
He solemnly nods. "Yeah, I just can't tell you enough how good it is to see you out here. You look so much better, y'know? Your skin is like, glowing again."
You smile. "Thank you," you're about to say more when you hear a voice, specifically a voice belonging to the last person you wanted to see right now.
"Hey! It's good to see you out here," your ex-boyfriend says casually, as if he didn't rip your heart in two and cause you to become a hermit for 2 weeks straight. Percy gives him the nastiest look you've ever seen in your life, and try your best to contain your laughter, but you end up letting out a weird choked sound which earns you a smile from Percy and a weird look from your ex-boyfriend.
"Sorry, swallowed wrong," you say to him.
"Oh, alright?" He says confusedly, before trying to give you a hug, to which you not-so-accidentally swerve. He raises his eyebrow and you shrug.
"Uh, anyways. Yeah, good to see you too," you say before walking away with Percy, leaving your ex-boyfriend standing there confused. You didn't mean to be so rude, but you really couldn't stand being in the same vicinity as him right now.
The next day, you're in the infirmary, gossiping and laughing with one of your sisters, when Percy walks in, clutching his arm. You immediately get up, speed-walking over to where Percy is now standing.
"Hey, what happened?" You asked him, ushering him over to one of the beds.
"Was just doing some practice sword-fighting with your ex-boyfriend and he stabbed me right in the arm. I would've just gone to the ocean and healed it with the water, but I wasn't sure if it would heal this," he says before moving his hand from the deep gash on his bicep.
"Oh sweet Apollo, that was not an accidental stab. Sit here, put your hand back over it, I'll be back in a second," you say before rushing off to collect some supplies.
When you come back, you see Percy sitting with his eyebrows furrowed, muttering some unsavory things under his breath.
"Here, give me your arm," you request, to which he obliges.
You gently wrap his arm with gauze, noticing how intimate your position was and feeling awkward. You didn't want to mention it, not knowing if Percy felt the tension too. You tried to finish up as quickly as possible, hoping the awkward atmosphere would vanish. Unfortunately, it did not. When you finished, you noticed that Percy was staring at you with a weird look in his eyes.
"Um, I'm done, if it still hurts, I can get you some painkillers," you say, scratching the back of your head awkwardly.
Apparently, this breaks him out of his strange trance, and he nods.
"Yeah, uh, painkillers would be good," he replies, still in a slightly dazed state.
You rush out of the room as quick as you can, trying to avoid his gaze. When you were browsing the painkillers trying to find the best for his situation, you kept replaying the scene in your mind. You were trying not to be delusional, but you swore that when you caught Percy staring at you, he started to blush. You pushed it out of your thoughts and brought the medicine to him.
"Take two to four of these every six hours, and the pain should be gone in about two to three days," you said, handing him the container.
He nodded. "Okay, thank you. Maybe you can prescribe some pills to calm your ex down or something," he joked.
You laughed softly. "I wish we had any that would help. Just try to stay away from him. The breakup was his idea so I really don't get what his problem is," you say.
Percy shrugs, and the conversation ends.
Over the next few weeks, you see Percy in the infirmary more than you've seen him there in the past 4 years combined, which is odd, but you don't really think much of it. The injuries are all very small, and he could definitely heal most, if not all with water, but you don't comment on this, as you've really been enjoying having Percy's company during the day.
A few months pass on, and it's another slow day at the infirmary. You're talking with your sister and drinking lemonade, when something outside catches her attention.
"Hey, do you mind if I leave for today? I saw my man walk past just now. I'm thinking today is the day I confess!" Your sister tells you.
"Yeah, sure. I doubt anyone else will come in today anyway. Go get him, girl!" You encourage.
She basically runs out of the infirmary, making you laugh.
A few minutes later, Percy is back. You weren't expecting him back today, as he'd already been here this morning, but he was always welcome.
"Hey, Percy. What happened now?" You ask.
"Oh, I'm fine. A bunch of other people are going to the beach later, and I was just wondering if you were going to be there," he says shyly.
"Hm, I guess it really wouldn't hurt. When did they say they'd be there?"
"Uh, they said they were planning to go in around 30 minutes, I think," he replies.
"I mean, there's no one else scheduled to be at the infirmary today, but it's pretty slow today, so I guess it'd be fine," you conclude.
"Alright, awesome, cool. I'll see you there then," he said before rushing out. You looked out the window and the sight of him jumping up and down and cheering made you laugh harder than you'd laughed in a long time. He looked back through the window and saw you already looking at him. He gave you a pained look and ran off.
"Wow, I sure choose normal people to be friends with," you mutter to yourself before writing a note and putting it on the infirmary door saying that it'd be empty for the rest of the day. You went to your cabin and began changing into your swimsuit. You put a pair of jean shorts and a yellow tank top on over your swimsuit and grabbed a towel.
You talked to your siblings that were in the cabin for a bit before heading down to the beach. You spotted Percy sitting on his towel, looking at everyone else that was swimming. You put your towel down next to his and sat down.
"Hey waterboy, whatcha lookin' at?" You asked.
"Nothing really, was just waiting for you so we can swim," he says, smiling over at you.
"Alright, let's go then," you say, taking off your shorts and tank top as Percy watches, not noticing how intensely he was staring until you cleared your throat.
"Are you going to just sit there and stare at me, or are you gonna come with me to the water?" You teased, causing him to blush a deep red.
He immediately takes off his shirt, revealing his toned abdomen, which you should've expected, he was a swimmer after all. You were in awe, but he spoke up, "now look who's staring."
He grins at you before grabbing your hand and running to the water. Your shorter legs had a hard time keeping up with him, but you somehow managed.
The two of you splashed and swam until the water began to get cold. You both raced back to the towels, bundling up and sitting on the beach.
"Hey, we're going to have a bonfire, if you guys want to come," Connor Stoll says to you and Percy.
"Yeah, sounds cool," Percy replies for the both of you.
"Alright man, awesome. We're going now, so."
You and Percy grab your stuff and follow Connor to the campfire.
As the sun sets, you're all chatting and roasting marshmallows.
"Hey, Perce. Thanks for inviting me, and thank you for helping me get over my break up. We weren't even really friends before and you still helped me. I don't know what I would've done without you," you confess.
"Yeah, yeah. It's no problem. I mean, you're really sweet, and I'm glad to call you my friend now, too."
You smile, and spend the rest of the night quietly talking to Percy, which catches Annabeth's eye.
The next day, you hear a knock on your cabin door. You open the door to probably the last person you would expect to be there, Annabeth Chase.
"Hey, what's up? Who're you here for?" You ask.
"You," she says, causing your eyebrow to raise.
"It's nothing bad, at least, not for me."
"Uh, okay," you say, stepping out of your cabin and closing the door behind you.
Annabeth sits down on the steps, and you follow.
"So, I noticed you and Percy last night at the bonfire," she says with a small smirk on her face.
She must've seen the confused look that flashed across your face, because she laughs. "You two were all over each other, I swear. You two are so in love it makes me sick. There's no way neither of you have noticed this. I'm not even going to bother bringing it up to Percy because he has seaweed for brains, I swear. But you're smart, so I'm saying this to you. You two like each other, and it's physically paining everyone else at camp to see you two pining over each other like idiots. Please, for the love of the Gods, tell him how you feel, because I guarantee he feels exactly the same. That's all."
If there was any time to take a bow, it would've been after that speech, you think.
"Well, after that I guess I have no other choice," you joke.
This seems to satisfy her, because she gets up and pats you on the shoulder before walking away and wishing you luck.
Later that day, you decide that you're going to tell Percy how you feel, consequences be damned. I mean, if Annabeth Chase is telling you to do something, you better do it.
That night, you're standing in front of the Poseidon Cabin, mustering up all your courage to go inside and confess your feelings to Percy. You open the door, and all your confidence that you had conjured up fizzles right out when you see Percy sat on the floor talking to some girl that you didn't know the name of. His eyes catch yours, and you feel the tears forming. You turn around and run out as fast as you can, not caring how crazy you look running through the camp and crying. When you finally reach the beach, you sit down. You didn't expect Percy to follow you, so when you heard footsteps and heavy breathing, you jump up and scream.
"Hey, woah, you're very fast," Percy says in between heavy breaths.
"What do you want?" You ask, tearing streaming down your face.
"Wait, what's wrong?" He asks, clueless.
The question only makes you cry harder.
"Hey, c'mon, don't leave me in the dark, we're friends, right?"
"Yeah, and I guess that's all we'll ever be," you snap.
"What are you talking about?"
"Percy, please," you say, exasperated.
"I don't know what you're talking about, okay. Please just explain."
"Okay, fine," you say, trying to control your crying. "I was going into your cabin to tell you that I like you. No, I don't just like you, I love you, Percy. That's what I was going to tell you. But then I saw you in there with that girl, and it upset me, but at least now I know you don't like me back, so that's awesome."
"Hey, hey, slow down now. Who ever said that I don't like you back?"
"What?"
"You just said that I don't like you back, but I never said that, okay?"
"But what about that girl?" You ask.
"She's from the Aphrodite Cabin, she was helping me figure out how to tell you that I like you. No, I love you," he says your name, and you feel the blood rush to your cheeks.
"Oh," you say, now feeling extremely stupid.
"Yeah."
"Well, um. I'm sorry for freaking out on you," you manage to squeak out.
"Hey, it's fine, okay? I probably would've done the same thing if I was you, don't worry about it," he says, grabbing your hand in between his two larger ones.
"So, um, what now?" You ask.
"Well, we could always kiss," he jokes, not expecting you to actually say yes.
When he feels your full lips on his, he feels like crying, and he thinks he actually does, if the salty taste in his mouth is any sign.
You kiss for what feels like hours, breaking apart for air.
"So, uh, what would you rate that kiss out of 10?" He jokingly asks, breaking the silence.
"Um, probably a 9. But I could rate more accurately if I got to experience it again," you say, and he immediately takes you up on this, crashing your lips together in a somehow more passionate kiss than before.
a/n: okay so i DEFINITELY went crazy with this, but it was just such a good request so thank you saur much and i hope you like this !! i tried to follow it as closely as possible but i got kinda carried away on some parts,, this is also the longest fic i've ever written on this app so do with that what u will

Hello, I want to say that I simply love your art and the characterization you give to the characters, it seems very beautiful to me and warms my heart, I simply love Mario, Luigi and Peach, they make me such a beautiful and united family, the three of them They love each other very much and would do anything for each other.
Mario and Peach are the cutest couple I have ever seen, they love each other too much, Peach knows that Mario will always be unconditionally there for her, Mario knows that Peach will always be there for him, no one can destroy their love that is as strong as steel.
Luigi and Peach, they are very great friends and they love each other very much and support each other Likewise, Peach will always give good advice to Luigi and motivate him to be braver and Luigi would support Peach in her saddest moments and always manage to make her feel better, with some tender words.
Mario and Luigi are the best brothers in the world and if they lost each other they would suffer intensely, being the most painful thing and their worst nightmare, as brothers, but being together is a great dream and happiness.
Anyway, it's nice to see people portraying this beautiful family.
Aww! 💕 You summed it up very well. 👏
Mario, Luigi and Peach are a perfect trio in my mind because they continually bring out the best in each other. And not only that, but each one-on-one dynamic is also incredible on its own! Mario and Luigi? Absolutely beautiful example of brotherhood, peak sibling love right there. Mario and Peach? Heart melting romance, adorably pure and earnest, the stuff of dreams and fairytales. Luigi and Peach? Fantastic bond filled with common interests and mutual regard, just an all-around superb and very healthy friendship.
I'm glad that you enjoy these characters' relationships and the way I portray them! 🥰 Thank you for the very nice comment. ✨️

Hi, I wanted to post this as a reply, but replies are restricted, so I’m doing it here lol, but in regards to an anon you got talking about travis being a red flag, and his social circle consisting of violent men with tempers, one of which has already sexually assaulted someone, and how he could easily do that to taylor, I saw a tiktok the other day of a girl filming the crowd midway through an eras tour concert with the caption “imagine if women could feel as safe everywhere as they feel during a Taylor Swift concert” and just……
That may have been true once upon a time, like when she was with joe for example, but now that she’s with travis and associating herself with people like jackson mahomes (or whatever than POS’s name is), I feel like it’s going to slowly convince a lot of younger girls that a boyfriend with travis’s behaviour is ok, that a friend group with men like jackson mahomes is ok, that literal SA and violent outbursts (like travis displayed against his coach during the superbowl) are ok.
Women aren’t going to feel safe in taylor-adjacent places anymore, because Taylor is essentially showing them that this sort of behaviour is not only ok, but something to wish for in a boyfriend.
He’s a REAL man! He plays sports! He’s not violent, he’s just passionate! Those tweets of his? He was just being goofy! He didn’t mean it! “Just because his friend did something, that doesn’t mean HE’S like that!” (Spoiler alert, it does. I had an ex who was friends with a guy that was openly racist, and whilst my ex never said anything super obviously racist, he also never called out his friends racism, even when my jaw was on the floor after some of the stuff he said). It sounds dramatic, but it’s a slippery slope.
Just look at how many young girls were essentially groomed to be groomed by all these teen drama shows featuring scandalous affairs between teachers and their students back in the 2010’s. Those relationships were shown to be something to aspire to, not for the danger they really were, and young fans dismissing travis and his friends behaviour just because Taylor is ok with it gives me the same vibes.
(Also I’m pretty sure the poor girl that died during one of the Brazil concerts didn’t feel “as safe as women feel during a taylor swift concert”, but hey, what do I know?)
one of the many reasons i hate pop feminism is exactly that - young women and girls are told by grown women that men like travis are acktually so great and wonderful and his relationship with taylor is the model relationship just because they like her/her music, and then these young women and girls will go on to try and actually emulate it. they're also straight up just told by taylor herself. what kind of icon and role model purposely dates an abusive man as publicly as possible, while hanging out with and supporting his friends who have sexually assaulted women? the dangerous culture swifties have disguised as feminism all to follow in their idol's footsteps is incredibly toxic and unsafe for women. she's no one a woman should be looking to for a healthy anything. i've seen firsthand what it looks like to date someone like travis or jackass mahomes. it's not romantic, it's not a fairytale, and it's not love.

hello queen, I have a pathetic question about dating: how to not feel jealous at those who seem like they’ve found “the one” already? Ik all that stuff about everyone being on their own journey and stuff, but it does hurt sometimes. I’ve never even dated so seeing everyone find their one is heartbreaking sometimes. Ik there’s the bad parts of dating such as my friend saying her guy is the one and love of her life (they recently bought a house together) but also that he plays video games often and she feels bored and lonely at times. Sometimes tho I just want that relationship for the dumb sake of saying I have a boyfriend, or that attention. How the hell do you get over it and be content with yourself? It genuinely feels like no one is single around me /: maybe I’d feel differently if I had some single friends to relate to? Idk I just feel jealous all the time, and it isn’t good for me or my future. I should be focusing on creating the best version of myself but this insecurity is holding me back. It feels like a what do these girls have that I don’t? My friend told me a lot of ppl just settle and that’s why they’re in relationships but it didn’t make me feel better. I just want to find my “one” perfect ambition, hard working guy already. Sorry for venting, I love your account and advice.
Listen, social media is a dating reality show edited to make you feel like a loser. All you get are the bouquets and champagne dates, never the screaming match about dirty dishes. But lemme tell you, relationships are WORK. Even those picture-perfect couples have their "Why did I do this?" moments and silent car rides filled with unspoken resentment. That's just reality, even if it doesn't fit on an Instagram caption.
Being single can be tough, but let's not pretend relationships are a magic fix. It's about trading one set of problems for another, usually spicier ones. Don't get me wrong, the right person is worth it, but life isn't a fairytale. Notice how those couples with the constant PDA often go silent when things get messy?
Here's where self-discovery comes in. Sometimes those relationship cravings are masking something else – a need for excitement, validation, whatever. Figuring that out is way more productive than doom-scrolling relationship goals.
You think having a partner is this automatic happiness upgrade, but I've been on the other side, in a relationship feeling lonelier than ever. Trust me, it's a mind-blowing kind of awful, followed by a new level of depression. That's the thing nobody talks about.
So, I rock my single status because guess what? I've got standards. Settling for mediocrity just to avoid being alone? Nope. I'd rather invest my energy elsewhere. Because contrary to all that rom-com nonsense, you can't outsource your happiness to another person. You gotta build that for yourself.
A healthy relationship is two happy people adding to each other's lives, not draining each other dry with emotional baggage. That's why I'm perfectly content rolling solo until the right one comes along. Do you want dependence and drama? There are plenty of trashy reality shows for that.
Yeah, it's different from the usual "find your soulmate" BS, but it's REAL. You want fulfillment? Build that life for yourself first. The rest either falls into place, or you realize you're happier without another person's dirty socks in the mix.

Frederick Appreciation Post!
Sorry in the mess kinda style and born from various emotions tbh - the goal is to feel better towards thinking him as the best boi tbh ^^
As in, thinking more about him - Frederick! ~
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Him being the Green Plaid Prince ultimately makes him the green flag too - there's so many examples but only in Gwen's dinner arc alone he keeps helping people that he knows care about him and being very supportive to Gwen <3
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
His character is so complex, the pioneer of the redemption trio - as he indeed make mistake that basically the trigger of the story unfold with unintentionally making Gwen hurts and then she meets the CPC. But it's not coincidence, as giving ultimate breaker for his father's evil plan. He indeed jerk and sassy and judgemental on early appearance but I know LambCat has stuff in store to gives layers for him and that's turn out right! Dark troubled past that's relatable but very capable of goodness - he just need an angel of the fortune (Gwen) to guides him to the light path and have mutual "special" relationship in form of respect and cares to each other = relationship goal, totally! This what healthy (love) should be! And he totally capable of goodness like what his sudden surprise! mentor at the street when wants to meet Gwen, Whitney, that later on becomes part of the CPC says - his pain although "subtle" is valid so he shouldn't belittle his own as 'insignificant' but he didn't need to wallow too long as once he feels ready - He could change his story, ultimately changes story roles. First part he painted as unaware villain, then later we learn how he could be a very nice supporter as simple a friend to Gwen. He's judgemental but that's his defense mechanism, and yet at the same time he isn't afraid to admit his mistaken opinion-ask forgiveness-and totally making amends out of it.. He just need to be pointed out gently about where his mistake!
Serious "Dark Comedy" 'Fun' corner
Tumblr media Tumblr media
This give ultimate debate regarding topic about gaslighting, too eager 'To die' or passive suicidal ideation - one thing that I could say: mental disaster blonde, someone (or multiple) people please save him! This clear sign of "self-harm"
Frederick, and the cliffs - symbol of "death"
Sorry for ping there @randomgentlefolk but I remember your talk at episode 158 about Frederick and the cliffs at the Pastel Kingdoms
He never actively jumping to the cliff but somehow falling a lot too - and in the real world rational thinking...The height of the cliff are all abnormal (one of funny yet also concerning is when he accidentally fell down to the CPC as isn't like several meters? People could fall to death depending on many factors, but I feel if ordinary people (unlike him who has ridiculous Plaid genetics that makes him physically strong deep down) fall from the cliff like him-they die
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
And when i am rereading balcony serenade arc
The first event as the catalyst that make sure for Frederick that at least Gwen as his fiancee care-
Tumblr media
^ the comment section pointing out: if Gwen let go, what happened to you?! You just fall from the cliff then? Maybe in the CPC for Frederick's case he somehow 'magically' surviving all the falling from cliff incidents but Frederick himself knows that "pushing someone from the cliff"=murder
That's the whole reason why he mistaken Gwen with Monika thus thinking Gwen as immortal witch after all - he so scared 'kills' Gwen
But why he feels totally OK if himself the one that falling? The nonchalant exclaim "I fall a lot" seems not bodes with me - if not adding the unwritten fact that if Pastel siblings are like fairy tale with superpower abilities each.. Then Plaids has fairytale resiliency and ridiculous power. Leland could rip a coffee mug in half. Make dull knife a lethal weapon. Frederick that supposed to be "the weakest" could carry 200 kilograms llama, and his resilience over falling from the cliff seems the nods for that. Blaine in physical power not clear but in swordsmanship skill he so excel. Now only need to see Lance that dubbed as the strongest plaid prince can do! It's established as he can make someone flying with a slap

So I have a question. I was doing some research on sub/dom for a fic that I am planning on writing (don’t know if I ever will finish it but ehh) and I came across subdrop and it got me thinking about warming verse (obviously because I love it very much and also because it’s one of the few sub/dom fic that I like) and I was wondering how warming!verse Max and Charles would deal with that along with the race stress and stuff?
BEFORE I GO ON A RANT: Anon, please know that this is not a personal attack on you. Your question is so valid, and I appreciate that you've come to me with this. I'd love to talk to you in dms about my feelings on dom/sub and what I've learned from life and writing this series if you'd like to continue the topic offline.
That being said, I've been getting a lot of requests lately asking about sub-drop, or what it would look like if Charles had to safeword out, or what that would look like between lestappen, etc. I have picked this ask randomly to respond to the group, so please understand this is not aimed at you, anon.
ANYWAY, disclaimer out of the way.
Sub-drop/safewording are important and heavy topics, and I do not plan to write them into any of fics. I am okay with reading them in fics if they're done correctly, properly tagged, and come with clear and heavy trigger warnings. But I personally do not want to write them.
At the end of the day, I know this is just fanfiction, but subdrop/safewording out are difficult situations that can harm and hurt a person. It isn't a fun topic to talk about (for me), and I typically don't enjoy reading it. Safewords are extremely important, and you shouldn't ever be afraid to use them, but when the moment comes that you need to use them, it is not always easy.
It is not always fun.
And usually, despite how much you love a person, it is awkward and emotional. The dom/top in the situation can easily take on a lot of guilt and blame themselves, sometimes carrying it around with them for years. Sometimes the sub/bottom won't safeword out until they're so far past the point that they should have, that they get damaged and hurt and panicked. That's just not something I'm interested in writing into my characters. I'm not one to shy away from a harsh subject or difficult real-life conversation, but... this is fanfiction. And I have to decide what I want my content to look like and what topics I'm comfortable exploring.
I love writing realistic relationships and realistic sexual dynamics, and I always love to have my characters over-consent to each other. Because consent is sexy. But the fun thing about fanfiction is that I can make it as fluffy and happy as I want. Sub-drop/safewording happens all the time in real life, and sometimes it's not a big deal and easy to move past... but sometimes it impacts you for years.
And while that is a realistic situation that could easily fit into my stories, I am choosing to keep that part of reality out of mine. Because... this is fiction, and I get to live vicariously through my characters, see them happy and healthy, and live the fairytale life that is not always possible in reality.
tl;dr I won't be adding subdrop or safewording out into my fics.

I got brainrot about future girldad Jacob AU so bear with me
TW: mentions of an abusive relationship.
So it’s been some time after the events of Lurking for Love (no idea about the endings, obviously, so this is pure self indulgent fantasy). Jacob and MC manage to have as much of an approximation to a healthy relationship as these two can have, complete with a beautiful and very loved daughter.
Jacob hasn’t killed or stalked anyone in while (well, maybe some stalking. He can’t just let his precious baby hang around anybody! He has to make sure she’s safe.) Jacob has everything he’s ever wanted in life, and things have been pretty stable for him mentally speaking. His baby grows up into an inquisitive girl, full of light, and then into a radiant young woman. Time has come for her to leave the nest and head off into the next great thing, college. This is probably her first time living so far away from her parents, so she’s understandably nervous, but hopeful. Jacob is obviously tense about the whole thing, but this is what his daughter wanted so he’s going to support her dreams. MC is more excited, getting to watch their daughter bloom into her own person, all the hard work they put into raising her paying off. MC knows being away from family is scary at first, but they can’t wait for her to get that first taste of freedom. Their daughter grew up around animals, going on camping trips with her parents and just loved looking up at the night sky. She became enamoured with space from a young age, reading up all that she could about it, even getting a telescope for her birthday. Her dream is to study astrobiology.
Quick note: MC knows about what Jacob’s done in the past (they were his victim at some point too, even if this is a fairytale ending scenario). They know Jacob’s done some horrible things. But they were willing to overlook all of that in order to get to that fairytale ending. He’s hasn’t done anything in a while, they communicate as much as they can, but most important of all, they’re happy. They probably know that the right thing to do would be to report Jacob to the police and forget about him, but is it worth sacrificing their happiness? Their daughter’s happiness? Everything they’ve worked so hard to achieve? MC never thought they would reach this point in their life, why throw it all away? They have this under control. Besides, they’re doing the world a favour by loving Jacob so much, without them he would still be killing people, right? So it’s better for everyone if things remain as they are.
Months pass and the couple try to get used to life without their sunshine. It’s hard, but they make it work. They call almost every week to check up on her (Jacob spends more time “checking out” her social media, to see if there’s anything she’s not mentioning.) MC starts to notice that her voice is not as chirpy as it used to be, she chalks it up to her being tired from projects and finals (she’s not posting as much either, just increasingly cryptic stuff.)
She finally comes back home for Christmas break. She looks tired, paler, with pronounced bags under her dull eyes, shoulders slouching, and feet dragging along the ground. A far cry from the confident and happy person she once was. She hugs her parents so tightly it felt like a weight was lifted off her shoulders. She spends those first few days sleeping in her room, claiming she’s just exhausted. Something’s wrong, very wrong. MC waits until Jacob is out of the house to have a talk with their daughter. They sit on the back porch, having some hot chocolate when she finally lets it all out.
She met a guy. He seemed sweet at first, a nerd, like almost everyone doing astrobiology. They started dating, and then it’s like switch was flipped in him. He hurt her, badly. Bad enough that she can’t bring herself to say what happened. She can only sob in her parent’s arms. She says she never told them about him because she knows how her dad gets, “you of all people would understand, right?”
That night, while she’s sleeping, MC informs Jacob about what they know. Jacob is silent, but his jaw is clenched and his fists are shaking in fury. MC puts their hands on top of his and looks him in the eye, intense and knowing.

part two
Changbin's POV
Changbin was a curious man. Especially after his closest friends Chan and Minho kept talking to him about their hybrid partners and how lovely they were. Changbin had had a couple of relationships in the past but things had never gotten serious. He was longing for someone to come home to and cuddle after a long day. And no, his roommate Hyunjin (aka the biggest physical touch hater) didn't count. Changbin wished he could confide in someone the way Chan did with Seungmin or Minho with Jisung, Felix and their girlfriend (that lucky bastard). He was craving that special feeling he heard so much about from his friends. Which is how Changbin ended up at the hybrid shelter.
"Can I help with something? What kind of hybrid are you looking for?" the man working there asked.
"Um...I don't really have anything particular in mind."
"That's alright. Why don't you look around and let me know if something catches your eye."
Changbin nodded and started marveling at the variety of beautiful creatures residing at the shelter. He knew that he couldn't adopt more than one hybrid (he could technically afford it but he was too busy with work and he was aware that hybrids required a lot of attention and affection) so he hoped that they all found a caring home someday.
Soon enough, his stare met the nervous eyes of a bunny hybrid. She had the most adorable pout and the fluffiest tail. Changbin wasn't the type to believe in fairytale stuff like love at first sight but seeing her was enough to overwhelm him with the most intense urge to take her away and protect her.
"Hi, what's your name?"
"Y/N," she replied. "Are you looking to adopt?"
Changbin confirmed his intentions.
"Found anything to your liking?" the bunny hybrid kept up the conversation.
"Yeah...you."
Reader's POV
Your eyes widened in shock. You'd spent so long at the shelter that you had abandonded the foolish desire (hope) to get adopted long ago. You couldn't believe what you were hearing.
"You...want to adopt...me?" you had to make sure.
The man nodded calmly.
"How do you feel about that?"
You didn't want to show your true emotions (them being extreme excitement and intense joy) out of fear that he'd change his mind. So you tried to play it cool.
"That's fine, I guess," you shrugged, when in reality you were bursting with impatience. You would finally get a real home!
"Great, then I'll go deal with the paperwork," the man said confidently. "I'm Changbin, by the way. It's nice to meet you."
"Likewise," you gave him a small smile.
Soon enough you were inside Changbin's home. No, it was your home now, too. This would take some time getting used to.
"This is the living room, this is the gym, this is the kitchen, this is the music studio, this is my room, this is my friend Hyunjin's room, this is the bathroom and this will be your room," Changbin began showing you around the house.
"Wow, that's a lot of rooms," you were amazed.
"I'll show you the pool later," he smirked.
The what now? Had you died and ended up in heaven? This seemed too good to be true.
"So, um, what exactly are your...expectations of me?" you asked nervously.
"What do you mean?" Changbin seemed confused.
"I mean...what do I have to do in return? For you to let me stay here."
Changbin blinked in shock.
"You don't have to do anything, cupcake. I just...want you to be happy and make yourself at home, yeah?"
You were definitely dreaming.
Hyunjin's POV
Hyunjin was a possessive man. Especially after his best friend (who was also the guy he was crushing on) adopted the bunny hybrid Y/N. Hyunjin was haunted by questions filled with self-doubt. Wasn't he a good enough roommate to Changbin? Wouldn't he make a wonderful boyfriend? Why did Changbin have to replace him so easily with this...bunny girl (albeit a very beautiful one)? Hyunjin was also a hopeless romantic. He kept fantasizing about the perfect relationship and making playlists about love. He would draw figures stuck to each other in an affectionate embrace. He would often dream about his ideal type. And all his dreams had a face. Changbin. Changbin. Changbin.
"So you just decided to take her home without asking me?" Hyunjin scoffed.
"I already told you I had been thinking about adopting for a while now," Changbin defended his choice.
"Thinking about something and actually doing it are two very different things," Hyunjin groaned in annoyance.
"Why are you acting like this? Y/N is so nice."
Nice. What a terrible word. Hyunjin could be nice, too. Why didn't Changbin see how much he liked him?
"Whatever," he rolled his eyes.
"She deserves a loving home. Every hybrid does."
"So I suppose you wouldn't mind if I adopted a hybrid myself?" Hyunjin said as a joke. He just wanted to make Changbin as jealous as he was.
"Fine by me!" Changbin shrugged.
"FINE!" Hyunjin yelled and grabbed his jacket, already heading out.
"FINE!" Changbin shouted after him.
And that is how Hyunjin ended up at the shelter. He had no previous knowledge about them. Sure, he had heard some basic facts from Chan and Minho, but still. Hyunjin didn't even know what he was looking for. He just took one look at the mischievous fox hybrid and felt an immediate connection.
"Do you wanna get out of here?"
"What's in it for me?" the fox hybrid raised his eyebrows.
Hyunjin hadn't planned that far.
"Uh, having a warm bed and a proper home not good enough for ya?"
"I've seen far worse than the conditions at this shelter," the hybrid replied darkly.
Well, shit. What could Hyunjin possibly offer?
"Unlimited food? A bunny hybrid friend to play with? Cool clothes?"
"You had me at food."
Jeongin's POV
Jeongin was a hungry man. Especially after his former owners abandoned him in the most cruel way. Jeongin had practically been starving for ages. So the opportunity given to him by Hyunjin wasn't one he could resist. But Jeongin had lied. It wasn't the food that had him interested the most.
"How could you adopt a fox hybrid?" Changbin yelled at Hyunjin. "Foxes eat bunnies, it's common knowledge!"
"He's a hybrid, not an actual fox, you idiot!" Hyunjin screamed back.
"You're so fucking irresponsible!"
"At least I informed you about my plans instead of telling you post-factum!"
Humans. So loud...And dramatic.
"I promise I won't eat the bunny hybrid," Jeongin raised his hand politely and did his best to look as amiable as possible.
Changbin nodded thoughtfully.
"You better prove it."
"He will," Hyunjin defended his hybrid's honour.
"Then, I guess he can stay," Changbin acquiesced. "But if I get any complaints from my precious bunny, he's out."
Jeongin promised he wouldn't eat her. But he made no other promises.
When he met her for the first time, it was like all his fantasies had come true. Oh, she was so adorable and helpless he wanted to ruin her.
Reader's POV
You fearfully hid behind Changbin's back when your eyes met with the fox hybrid's. As if a human could defend you against this...dangerous predator.
"Relax, cupcake," Changbin murmured. "Hyunjin will keep him under control. Right, Hyunjin?"
"Sure, don't worry about it," Hyunjin responded.
You sneaked a peak uneasily. The fox hybrid was so handsome, you had to admit. It was as if nature itself had designed him to be alluring enough for prey like...well, you.
"My name is Jeongin," he introduced himself. "I hope we get along, bunny."
You sensed shudders running down your skin. The way he said that last word...It was almost menacing. And yet his innocent face was in stark contrast with the goosebumps he was giving you. It was deeply confusing. And despite the promise of danger, you were already aching for more. To hear his voice again.
"I'm Y/N," you blurted out. "N-nice to m-meet you."
You felt so pathetic, stammering like a fool.
"It's a beautiful name," Jeongin smiled. Saccharine sweet. "Y/N."
"Um...thanks," you mumbled.
"It wasn't a compliment, just the truth. I promised these nice hyungs I won't eat you. It is only right I make the same promise to you, don't you think?"
You nodded, almost in a daze. Empty words. You were too nervous to speak. He had said he wouldn't eat you. But why did you have the feeling he was capable of so much worse?
Your earlier suspicions were correct. This whole thing was too good to be true.
Changbin's POV
Changbin was a cautious man. Which is why, despite Jeongin's sparkly eyes and his profound promises, he didn't want to leave him alone with Y/N. Yet. He knew it was most likely just prejudice, considering two of Minho's partners were cat hybrids, while his third was a hamster hybrid and they were all living in peace. No casualties. But still, he couldn't help but be a little overprotective when it came to his precious bunny. Which is why he created this whole schedule thing. When Changbin had to go out, Hyunjin would stay with the two hybrids. Or vice versa.
"How are you liking this place so far?" Changbin asked Y/N one day, around a month after he adopted her.
"Oh, it's great, but not much different from the shelter. No offense," she responded.
"What do you mean?" he pouted.
"I mean...I don't get to go out."
Shit. Fuck. Changbin couldn't believe he had forgotten about that. Of course she wanted to go out, she was a bunny hybrid!
"I'm so sorry, it totally slipped my mind!" he apologized sincerely. "Do you wanna join me for a run in the park?"
"I would love that!" she squealed excitedly and gave Changbin a quick but deeply grateful hug.
When in the park, Y/N completely transformed. She seemed more carefree and energized. Practically glowing. It was refreshing to see her this way. When she was inside, it was as if she had a hidden worry behind her eyes that she couldn't quite seem to shake.
"Can you do me a favour, Binnie?"
"Sure, anything."
"Can you...like chase me?"
"You want me to chase you?" Changbin smirked.
"Yeah."
"You do know I work out...like a LOT," he said confidently.
"I know," she smiled in anticipation.
"Go ahead, then. I’ll give you a headstart. Run."
Reader's POV
And run you did. It was such a rush. You felt so free and happy. A surge of adrenaline was coursing through your veins as you kept running faster than ever before. After a couple of minutes, you felt your energy levels decreasing. And you slowed down, allowing yourself to be captured by Changbin's strong arms.
"Caught you," he announced proudly.
"You did," you smiled fondly.
"Do I get a reward as the winner in this race?" Changbin teased.
"What do you want?" you asked.
"A kiss?" Changbin said as a joke.
But you weren't in the mood for playing around. After he had done as you asked and chased you so nicely, you felt like it was only fair to give the man what he desired. So, you wrapped your hands around the back of his neck and kissed him eagerly, taking him by surprise. He tasted like summer and salt and freedom.
"Woah," he whispered after you broke the kiss. "I was just messing around."
"You didn't like it?" you blinked dejectedly, your lips forming into a pout.
"No, no, I loved it, but I...hope you didn't do anything you didn't want to do just because I said so."
"Trust me, Bin, I wanted that kiss. Perhaps more than you did."
"Wanna bet?"
"I would but I don't believe feelings can be measured. Degrees of comparison would be irrelevant. Thus, it would be difficult to determine the winner in an unbiased manner."
"Smartass," Changbin flicked your nose gently. "So where does that leave us? Do you...wanna be my girlfriend or something?"
"Sounds nice," you grinned, burying your head into his chest.
"Let me take you out, then."
"You already did, silly. We're at the park. The park is out."
"Fair point, girlfriend," Changbin chuckled and hugged you.
Hyunjin's POV
Hyunjin was a jealous man. Especially after he found out that his crush had started dating the bunny hybrid he'd adopted a while ago. However, she was too pure and kind-hearted Hyunjin didn't have the heart to be mad at her. The way she looked at him with those sparkly eyes...Hyunjin was almost tempted to steal her away from Changbin. Nah, he wouldn't. Unless...
Other than jealousy, Hyun's mind was consumed by thoughts of wanting to prove himself to Changbin. He wanted his crush to view him as responsible. As an adult. Which is why, he made it his mission to turn Jeongin into the sweetest, most obedient angel. He wanted to rely on the fox hybrid and make sure that Y/N would be safe around him. If that could be achieved, then maybe Changbin could rely on Hyunjin, as well. After a month of getting closer to Jeongin, Hyunjin was hopeful that the younger man would behave well.
One afternoon, while Changbin was working, Hyunjin decided to test his fox hybrid. He knew it was against Changbin's rules to leave the two hybrids alone and it was kinda risky, but he hoped it would be worth it.
"You'll be good, yeah?" Hyunjin made sure.
"Yes, hyung, don't worry about me," Jeongin blinked innocently.
"I'm not worried about you, little fox," Hyunjin ruffled the boy's hair affectionately. "I'm worried about Y/N over there."
"I thought you didn't like her," Jeongin smiled mischievously.
"It's not that I don't like her," Hyunjin defended his previous words. "I just like Changbin more."
Hyunjin had confided in Jeongin about his feelings for Changbin. He had no idea why. Something about the fox hybrid made Hyun want to trust him. Like no one else before.
"Where do I stand in your pyramid of affections?" Jeongin wanted to know.
"You're climbing up steadily," Hyunjin admitted. "Okay, I'll head out. Don't eat the bunny."
"Relax, hyung, I have no use of doing that. You and Changbin-hyung gave me a home. I wouldn't do anything THAT reckless."
Hyunjin's eyes narrowed. Jeongin was kinda strange. Did he only do things that were of use to him? Oh, well. He would worry about that some other time.
Jeongin's POV
Jeongin was a patient man. He had waited so long for an opportunity to be alone with Y/N. He couldn't let it go to waste. He wouldn't be stopped by the fact that Changbin was now her boyfriend. He would still use this chance to get closer to her. As a fellow hybrid, he was sure she would understand his feelings better than anyone.
"Hi, bunny," Jeongin greeted her.
Y/N shuddered and wrapped her arms around her own waist as if to shield herself from the fox hybrid.
"Shh, I won't hurt you. I just want to talk. Is that alright with you?"
She nodded reluctantly.
"I wanted to tell you about my past life. About how my former owners abused me, both physically and mentally, made me feel like the scum of the earth, and then abandoned me on the street. Like I was worth less than nothing. Which is why I strongly distrust humans. Of course, Changbin-hyung and Hyunjin-hyung seem nice. Different. I'm not saying all this shit to scare you. It's just a warning. If they ever hurt you, I want you to come to me, yeah?"
"Why would they hurt me?" Y/N asked. "They...seem so caring."
"I don't know, bunny. Why do you think humans do anything? For fun. Because it gives them pleasure to torment others. Makes them feel superior."
"We're half-human, too," she reminded him.
"I hate that half."
"I don't," Y/N said softly. "It's still...a part of us."
"You're...not what I expected," Jeongin mused out loud.
"What did you expect? A scared little bunny who does nothing but tremble in fear at the sight of the big bad...fox."
She pronounced that last word in an almost challenging way. As if to remind Jeongin he was just that. A fox. Not a wolf.
"No. I expected you would share my distrust of humans. Didn't you hate every second of being locked up in that shelter? Waiting, begging, praying for a better life. Better food, warmer bed, safer home. Didn't you yearn for...more?"
"I did. And here we are now. Isn't it good enough for you?"
"Do you want the ugly truth or a pretty lie?" Jeongin inquired.
"Whatever you choose to share."
"It's good enough for now," Jeongin grinned mysteriously and climbed into her bed.
Reader's POV
"W-what are you doing, Jeongin?" you asked in terror when you saw Jeongin moving closer towards you and started crawling back.
"Don't worry, I won't do anything to you. Yet."
"What does that mean?" you whimpered.
"It means I'll take my sweet time ruining you."
"It'll be a lot harder than you think," you tried to put on a brave face. "It won't be that easy to tempt me."
"Oh, bunny. Imma make it look so easy," Jeongin leaned in and caressed your cheek with his cold index finger.
You wanted to push him away. You really did. But it was as if you were frozen into place by the inexplicable magic of his intense stare.
He laughed like a maniac and lowered his finger.
"For today, I just want to hold you. Will you let me?"
"You want to cuddle?" you raised your eyebrows in suspicion. The request seemed innocent enough.
"Nothing more, nothing less," Jeongin vowed.
"Do you expect me to believe that?"
"I expect you to give me a chance."
"Why bother asking me, though? You're so much stronger than me, physically," you observed, your voice tinted with longing.
"I don't want to take anything by force. Not from you, bun."
"Hold me, then. If you catch me," you stuck your tongue out at him and jumped from the bed, running towards the door. Opening it quickly, your sprinted down the corridor, randomly entering room after room. Luckily, Changbin's home was big enough to prolong the chase. However, you soon grew bored with it and decided to let Jeongin catch you. Running was no fun for you without the sweet surrender of being cuddled.
"Do you like it that much? The chase?" Jeongin read you like an open book, as he wrapped his firm arms around you in a tight grip.
"I like being captured more," you confessed.
"Why?"
"Why what?" you played dumb as he pulled you towards your room, where you both landed back on the bed, still holding onto each other for dear life.
"Why do you like being captured more?"
"Don't get me wrong. I wouldn't like it if it was a stranger. But with you...and Changbin, I feel safe. I don't know."
"Tsk, you were doing so well and then you had to fuck it up by mentioning another man's name while you're in my arms."
"He's my boyfriend, Jeongin," you reminded him.
Jeongin grinned and looked at the half-open door. Changbin was just...standing there.
"Speak of the devil."
Changbin's POV
Changbin was an angry man. Especially when someone touched something that was his.
"What the fuck are you doing?" he snapped at his girlfriend and Jeongin.
"We were just cuddling," Y/N explained.
"You expect me to believe that?" Changbin was fuming with rage.
"It's the truth," Jeongin shrugged.
"Yeah, well, I don't buy it," he hissed and stormed out of the room but not before he could hear Y/N telling Jeongin:
"I'll go talk to him, you stay out of it."
She caught up with Changbin soon enough and wrapped her tiny arms around his waist, thus, hugging him from behind. Despite his anger mere seconds ago, Changbin couldn't bear the thought of pushing her away. She seemed so fragile and soft-hearted.
"I promise you nothing happened, Binnie. Don't you trust me?" she whispered and he could practically hear the pout in her voice.
"I trust you. It's Jeongin I don't trust," Changbin responded.
"Why not?"
"Just a feeling. I don't want him to steal you away from me."
"He won't," Y/N promised. "My heart will always belong with you."
Changbin turned around to face his adorable girlfriend.
"Yeah?"
"Of course. You're my hero, you saved me and gave me a home and-"
"Is it just that, though?" Changbin asked. "If I hadn't adopted you, would you not fall for me?"
"How else would we have met?" she chuckled sadly.
"It's a hypothetical situation, cupcake."
"Whether we met at a park or a restaurant or another planet, I would have still fallen for you. You make me feel safe and free. And you're so beautiful and warm, how could anyone not fall for you is beyond me."
Changbin smiled proudly and his cheeks flushed with colour.
"You mean that?"
"I don't say or do things I don't want to."
Changbin's mood suddenly turned sour again.
"Is that why you cuddled Jeongin? You wanted to do it so badly you had to do so behind my back?"
"He asked politely. And it was purely platonic, I don't get why you're upset."
"I'm not upset, I'm mad. I want to be the only one that gets to cuddle you."
"Isn't that a bit greedy? I believe everyone in our house deserves cuddles, no?"
"I hate it," Changbin groaned. "But I'll try to live with it because I trust you and treasure you. And I don't want something so silly to stand between us."
Reader's POV
Jeongin was wrong. Not all humans were like his previous owners. His warnings were useless. And you were certain that Changbin wouldn't hurt you. He was so sweet and kind and understanding. You couldn't ask for a better boyfriend.
Jeongin was also wrong about another thing. You couldn't possibly imagine hating your human half. Humans like Changbin had hearts of pure gold and smiles full of sun. He was making your days brighter and you couldn't imagine your life without him.
And thirdly, even though you didn't know what Jeongin meant with all that talk about ruining you, you were determined to make it difficult for him. Changbin gave you the truest happiness you had ever experienced and the last thing you wanted to do was something that would take that happiness away from you.
You were sitting in Changbin's lap on the couch in the living room, playing with his gorgeous dark hair.
"I'm sorry," he murmured gently, rubbing his nose against your neck.
"For what?" your brows furrowed.
"For behaving like a jealous ass."
"You don't have to apologize, Bin. I'm just glad we talked."
He smiled fondly at you and placed his hand on your cheek.
"You're an angel," he spoke tenderly.
"Nah, I'm just a bunny hybrid," you giggled.
"Same thing," Changbin replied and pulled you into a deep kiss, the thumb of his right hand simultaneously caressing your chin, while his left hand was gripping your waist. You were running your fingers through his hair, while your other hand was holding onto the back of his neck. Changbin started kissing you more hungrily and you wanted to give him everything you had so that he would never starve again. You became so lost in the feeling you didn't hear the door unlocking. It was Hyunjin's voice that caused you to pull apart from Changbin.
"Ugh, keep it private, guys," he whined loudly. "The living room is a shared space!"
"Hey, you have no right to complain!" Changbin scolded him. You were confused. What had Hyunjin done? "I can't believe you left Y/N alone with Jeongin!" Oh. That.
"He didn't eat her, so mission accomplished. Can't you just praise me for training Jeongin so well?"
Changbin glared at Hyunjin.
"You were willing to risk my girlfriend getting eaten so that I would fucking praise you? I swear, Hyunjin, I don't know why we're friends sometimes."
Hyunjin flinched as if struck by Changbin's harsh words. You could see the tears starting to form in his beautiful eyes. You felt so bad. Honestly, you didn't mind being left alone with Jeongin, so you didn't see why this was such a big deal to Changbin. So, you decided to interfere.
"I'm okay, Bin. Hyunjin made the right call. It was bound to happen eventually. You can't stay inside to guard me 24/7 and put your entire lives on hold just because of some stereotypes."
"Oh, so you're taking Hyunjin's side now?" Changbin scoffed.
"I'm not taking anyone's side," you explained yourself. "I just think it's more sensible for us all to trust each other if we intend to continue living in the same home."
"Changbin made it abundantly clear he doesn't know why he's friends with me. I suppose that also means I'm no longer welcome here, so I guess I'll move out. Don't worry, I'm taking Jeongin with me."
"Hyunjin, wait!" you exclaimed but Hyunjin was already running towards his room, presumably to start packing his bags. "Talk to him, Changbin! He's your best friend!"
You figured it was the use of his full name that scared him out of his mind, as he immediately rushed after Hyunjin.
Hyunjin's POV
Hyunjin was sitting on his bed, crying. He couldn't bear the thought to start packing. Also, he was lowkey hoping he wouldn't have to. Even though it was immensely painful to watch Changbin with another, it would be even more painful to lose his best friend. He could bottle up his feelings for him, but he couldn't imagine their entire friendship ending. Luckily, his prayers were answered soon enough. He heard a knock on the door.
"Can I come in?" Changbin asked.
"It's open," Hyunjin called out, rubbing his eyes in an attempt to hide his tears. It was useless. Changbin knew him better than anyone.
"Have you been crying?" he inquired, even though the answer was obvious.
"I just need some time, I'll gather my-"
"Don't," Changbin interrupted him half-sentence. "I don't want you to move out."
"Yeah?" Hyunjin mumbled doubtfully.
"Of course not, dumbass. The reason I give you so much shit about being responsible is because I want what's best for you. Not because I don't trust you. I'm sorry I said the thing about not knowing why we're friends. It wasn't true. You are so dear to me, so funny and gentle and hard-working. I couldn't imagine a better best friend. I never meant to hurt you, though."
Hyunjin, who generally disliked any physical contact, couldn't resist the urge to hug his friend tightly. Changbin patted his pack comfortingly.
"I'm sorry, too. I shouldn't have left Jeongin alone with Y/N without talking to you first."
"It's alright," Changbin waved him off. "They just cuddled."
"Without us?" Hyunjin exclaimed dramatically, putting a hand on his heart.
"I know, right? That's exactly what I thought!" Changbin chuckled and high-fived his friend.
"The audacity of these hybrids," Hyunjin complained as a joke. "We give them a wonderful home and they don't even bother to invite us for cuddles!"
"Hey, since when are you such a big fan of cuddling?" Changbin eyed him suspiciously.
"Since you."
Changbin's POV
Changbin didn't want to ask Hyunjin what he meant by that. It was too late for that now. Changbin had spent too long pining after Hyunjin. But his best friend had been clueless when it came to Changbin's feelings for Hyun. Therefore, he had done the only thing he possibly could - he moved on. And now that he was genuinely happy with Y/N, Changbin didn't want to go to the time when he felt so helpless, quietly crushing on his roommate. He'd been so pathetic back then. But he had a lovely girlfriend now. So Changbin was determined that he wouldn't let Hyunjin's words confuse him.
"Don't you dare think about packing your stuff, alright?" Changbin swiftly changed the subject.
"You're stuck with me, hyung," Hyunjin replied, staring at him in such an affectionate way Changbin wasn't sure what to do. If only he'd done so before he'd gotten with Y/N. No! Changbin couldn't afford to have such thoughts.
But Hyunjin seemed intent on making it extremely difficult for Changbin to suppress his feelings. Feelings he thought he'd gotten over. Hyunjin pulled Changbin by the hand and buried his head into Changbin's chest.
"I missed this. Just us two," he slurred.
"Don't say shit like that," Changbin swallowed nervously.
"Why not? It's true," Hyunjin confessed.
"Y/N and Jeongin are...wonderful."
"I never said they weren't. I just said I missed having you all to myself."
Changbin shook his head. Where were these words back then?
"Hyun, please, don't do this to me," Changbin said seriously.
"I'm not doing anything," Hyunjin blinked innocently.
"Let go," he whispered weakly.
"I won't. If you want to get rid of me so badly, you'll have to push me away."
Changbin couldn't do that. He wanted to be even closer. No, this was wrong. He had a girlfriend. He couldn't do that to her. Changbin gently removed Hyunjin's hand from his wrist and took a step back.
"I'll...go check on Y/N."
"Of course you will," Hyunjin sighed wistfully.
Hyunjin's POV
Hyunjin was a spontaneous man. So, when Changbin remained blind to Hyunjin's hints, he quickly made up his mind what to do next. He was so tired of being invisible to the one man he aspired to have so desperately. He needed to win his heart one way or another. And he knew just the thing that might help him succeed.
Hyunjin entered Jeongin's room in a hurry.
"Sorry, forgot to knock," Hyunjin said instead of greeting.
"It's fine," Jeongin shrugged and paused the video he was watching. "What's up?"
"I fucking hate Changbin!" Hyunjin groaned.
"No, you don't," Jeongin replied coldly. He already knew him so well, it always amazed Hyunjin. Were his emotions that transparent to everyone but Changbin?
"You're right and I fucking hate that, too," Hyunjin cried out dramatically and sat down on the bed next to the younger man. "What am I supposed to do?"
"The wisest thing would be to just confess to Changbin-hyung and end your misery," Jeongin suggested.
"I'd rather die," Hyunjin shuddered.
"Do you have any better ideas?" Jeongin glared at him sceptically.
"How about...I kiss you?" Hyunjin blurted out randomly.
"You want me to be your fucking rebound?" Jeongin hissed in disbelief.
"Not exactly a rebound. I just want to kiss you and somehow get caught by Changbin so I'll make him jealous."
"Hm, that doesn't sound too bad," Jeongin acquisced. "But we'll have to practice beforehand to make it believable. If our first kiss is directly in front of Changbin, it may look awkward and he'll know we're faking it."
"You're so smart!" Hyunjin exclaimed and leaned his head towards Jeongin. But the fox hybrid was quick to place a hand between their lips before they collided.
"I don't do anything for free, hyung," Jeongin grinned devilishly.
"You're so pretty, Innie, will you please let me kiss you?" Hyunjin was practically begging.
"Compliments will get you nowhere. What will you give me if I let you kiss me?"
"Anything you want," Hyunjin promised without thinking.
"Hm...can you get me some pills against insomnia? I've had troubles falling asleep during the past week," Jeongin explained sadly.
"Of course I can! Even if we don't kiss, I'll get them for you 'cause you're precious to me and sleep is very important and I want you to be healthy and feel safe and-"
Jeongin's POV
Jeongin thought that Hyunjin was too loud and talkative sometimes. So naturally, he had to shut him up as fast as possible. Therefore, he interrupted him mid-sentence and crashed their lips together. Hyunjin was taken aback but quickly eased into the kiss and placed his palms on Jeongin's cheeks. The fox hybrid bit on the human's tongue greedily and pulled his hair. Hyunjin didn't seem to mind and let the younger man tease him as he pleased. Jeongin was so hungry. Eventually, they pulled back from each other, gasping for air.
"Oops. Guess I kissed you first," Jeongin lifted his shoulders, pretending to be surprised by his own actions.
"Guess you did," Hyunjin chuckled. "Wanna go again?"
"Later. I'm kinda hungry and super tired right now," Jeongin said, subtly reminding Hyunjin of his earlier promise.
"Oh, okay," Hyunjin mumbled, a little disappointed. "I'll go get those sleeping pills you asked for rightaway."
"Ah, yeah," Jeongin played it cool as if he'd forgotten all about them. "Thanks, hyung."
"No problem. I'll be back soon, alright? Do you want me to get you something to eat, as well?"
"I'll find something in the fridge," Jeongin reassured him.
"Cool, cool," Hyunjin scratched the back of his head anxiously. "See you later."
"Bye, hyung," Jeongin waved at him as he was leaving the room.
Finally. His sleepy face immediately turned energetic, as he rushed into the kitchen. When he opened the fridge, he was extremely overjoyed to find some fried chicken left from yesterday. He couldn't even be bothered with heating it up. Forgetting everything about manners, Jeongin stuffed his mouth full.
"What are you up to?" his alone time with the delicious food was interrupted by Y/N's soft voice.
"I'm eating. Obviously," Jeongin snapped at her. He wasn't himself when he was hungry.
"Gee, relax, I was just trying to make conversation," Y/N pouted adorably.
"I'm sorry, bunny," Jeongin murmured apologetically. "Wanna join?"
"You're willing to share food...with me?"
"I don't share food with anyone. I was asking if you would like to be eaten by me?"
"You're messing with me, right?" Y/N asked in horror.
"Duh," Jeongin rolled his eyes. "If I had such intentions, I would have eaten you the night we first met."
"I suppose I should be flattered I still haven't become your meal?" she joked.
"I don't particularly enjoy eating creatures that can talk. Kinda kills my appetite," Jeongin confessed.
"Does that mean you've tried...eating someone who talks?" Y/N gasped.
"I'm joking," Jeongin smiled innocently. "Or am I?" His eyes darkened once again, causing her to shudder.
"You're so weird," she shook her head in amusement.
"Bad weird or good weird?" Jeongin wanted to know the bunny hybrid's honest opinion of him.
"Hybrids and people are neither entirely bad nor good. Besides, those are human categories. I don't care about them," Y/N shrugged. "You're funny weird. That's all I meant."
"I can live with that," Jeongin nodded, lost in thought.
Reader's POV
One evening, you were bored out of your mind. Your incredible boyfriend Changbin still hadn't returned home. He was so hard-working and you admired him for that but you missed him immensely and wished you could spend more time with him. So, after staying inside your room all day, reading books and daydreaming about Bin, you wanted a change of scenery. So, you entered the living room, intending to watch some TV. However, you were greeted with a sight you hadn't expected in the slightest. Jeongin and Hyunjin were making out on the couch. Their hands were all over each other and even their shirts were off! You were too shocked you couldn't speak. And yet, they somehow felt your presence.
"Oh, hi, Y/N," Hyunjin welcomed you calmly.
"Um, hi, Hyun," you mumbled nervously. "Hi, Jeongin."
"Hi, bunny," Jeongin grinned wickedly and you could swear he did that on purpose! He wanted to annoy you and make you curious to know what his lips tasted like. But it wouldn't work! You were going to stay loyal to Changbin and-
"Last time you cuddled Innie without me," Hyunjin pouted dramatically. "Care to fix that?"
"Changbin hates it when I cuddle other men," you explained.
"Aw, damn," Hyunjin sounded pretty bummed out about that. You started to feel bad for him. Hyunjin looked like a decent guy who deserved cuddles. But if you agreed to this, it would also mean having to cuddle Jeongin again. And for some reason, you wanted to avoid that. You didn't like how it made you feel. You wanted to forget about it.
"How about a pillow fight?" Jeongin suggested cleverly.
You couldn't say no to that and grabbed the nearest pillow, using it to attack Jeongin's head and take out your frustration with him...on him. However, he was a dangerous opponent and wasted no time going easy on you. Instead, he also took a pillow and hit your belly with it. Hyunjin, the poor angel, decided to stay out of it and not pick a side. Meanwhile, you and Jeongin were at each other's throats like animals. Well...half-animals, anyhow. Soon enough, you felt exhaustion creeping in and Jeongin took advantage of your momentary weakness to grab your wrists tight enough so that you would drop the pillow. You gave in, letting him pull you into a hug. Hyunjin, who had been making out with Jeongin mere minutes ago, seemed confused by the turn of events.
"So greedy," he muttered under his breath and enveloped the three of you into an unexpected group hug. You melted into their embrace, feeling so warm and fuzzy on the inside. "Y/N, you should watch more romcoms. A proper pillow fight inevitably ends in cuddles. Jeongin used that knowledge against you."
"Jeongin doesn't watch romcoms," you scoffed.
"She's right, I don't," Jeongin admitted.
"So, how did you know your suggestion would result in...well, this?" Hyunjin eyed the fox hybrid suspiciously.
"Pure instinct," he grinned wickedly.
Soon enough, you ended up with your head resting in Jeongin's lap, while he was stroking your hair softly, and your legs curled up in Hyunjin's lap, as he was petting your fluffy tail gently. It was so safe and comforting you were starting to doze off when you heard some noise. However, in your sleepy state, you weren't fast enough to jump from the compromising position you'd found yourself in. Again.
"WHAT THE FUCK?" Changbin yelled angrily.
Your eyes flew wide open and you blinked on confusion, scanning your surroundings. Yeah, the fact that Hyunjin and Jeongin were half-naked probably didn't work in your best favour. You gulped anxiously and pushed yourself off the couch and closer to your boyfriend.
"Bin, I swear to you, we were only cuddling. I mean, me with Jeongin and Hyunjin. These two were having a full-blown making out session!"
Great job, Y/N. Rat them out to defend your innocence. You mentally scolded yourself for being so quick to throw your poor cuddle buddies under the bus.
"They were doing WHAT?" For some reason Changbin appeared even angrier. Wait, what?
"Yeah, Jeongin's my boyfriend now! You got a problem with that?" Hyunjin snapped at Changbin.
Hold on a second. Was...Hyunjin trying to make Changbin jealous?! By getting together with Jeongin?! You were so lost right now.
"Since when?" Changbin asked. He was not buying it.
Jeongin was weirdly quiet in the midst of it all.
"Since now," Hyunjin lied.
"Since never," Jeongin denied Hyunjin's words at the same time.
"Get your story straight," Changbin groaned.
"Unlike my sexuality," Hyunjin joked.
"Not the right time, Hyun," Changbin sighed loudly. "I don't care what you two have going on." You'd thought that Changbin would never lie to you. But he just did. He was obviously fuming. And you were pretty sure it had more to do with Hyunjin and Jeongin making out than it did with you cuddling them. Still, he was making an effort to act unbothered, you'd give him that. "But why did you get Y/N involved? She's my girlfriend."
"She came to us willingly," Jeongin, that sly fox, said.
"I told you we were just cuddling," you were starting to tear up. You hated being accused wrongfully. "It's a misunderstanding!"
"I feel so betrayed, you guys should have talked to me first," Changbin was still mad.
You were already sobbing. It was so unfair! Changbin clearly had some unresolved feelings for Hyunjin that needed to be addressed. And yet, he was painting you as the villain? The injustice!
"My silly bunny, can't you see he's messing around?" Jeongin interfered. "He's not actually mad at you."
"Is this true?" you asked Changbin.
"Um, yeah, cupcake. I know you didn't do anything wrong. I told you I trust you, didn't I? I was just making a joke-"
"A joke?" you cried out. "Do you think my feelings are a joke?"
"Of course not, darling. I just said I'm not mad at you."
"Well, good for you. Because I am! I'm mad at both of you!" you turned to Hyunjin, as well.
"What did I do?" Hyunjin blinked in surprise.
"Because no one is mentioning the elephant in the room!" you lifted your arms up in frustration. "Changbin and Hyunjin obviously have feelings for each other and you're both too blind to fucking see it and just talk to each other. And you decided that adopting two unsuspecting hybrids to help you move on would be a brilliant idea. Well, guess what? I'm not a pet."
And with that, you stormed out of the living room, hurried into your own and locked it on the inside.
Hyunjin's POV
Hyunjin had never heard silence so loud and uncomfortable.
"I need some fresh air," Changbin groaned and grabbed his leather jacket. "I'll go out for a bit."
"You should talk to him, like Y/N said," Jeongin suggested to Hyunjin. "Look where not communicating got us all."
"You're right," Hyunjin quickly put on his shirt and hurried outside. He managed to catch up with Changbin and grabbed his wrist before he'd gone too far. Changbin turned around to face Hyunjin. He was still angry. But Hyunjin couldn't help but be attracted to him even more.
"Is it true? What Y/N said..."
"It's true. I've had a crush on you for ages," Hyunjin confessed. It seemed so easy now. Why had it taken him so long? "That's...why I adopted Jeongin and why I made out with him in the living room. I wanted to make you jealous."
"Funny way of showing you have feelings for me, don't you think?" Changbin spat out sarcastically. "You could have just told me. Before I got together with Y/N."
"I know. It's all my fault," Hyunjin looked down in shame.
"It's not entirely your fault. Because I'm such a hypocrite, you know? I'm not angry at Y/N for cuddling you. I'm angry at you for kissing Jeongin."
"Why? You...you can't possibly..." Hyunjin refused to believe it. It seemed too good to be true. And at the same time, it was a tragedy.
"Because I should have kissed you first," Changbin blurted out, lifted himself up on his toes and crashed his lips against Hyunjin's.
Changbin's POV
Changbin knew it was wrong. He knew Y/N deserved better. But his mouth seemed to have a mind of its own, choosing to go after Hyunjin's. He couldn't think straight. Oh, the irony. Changbin pulled Hyunjin's hair aggressively and Hyunjin was generous enough to lower his head even more. He was kissing him back. Thank the universe.
"What will we do?" Hyunjin asked desperately when they finally broke away from each other. "About Y/N and Jeongin..."
"We tell them the truth. It's only fair."
"No more lies," Hyunjin nodded.
"No more lies," Changbin confirmed.
"If we're lucky, they might be willing to share," Hyunjin teased.
"Do you think we deserve that?" Changbin was doubtful. He'd fucked up big time. He wasn't sure he deserved Y/N's forgiveness. He thought he never deserved her in the first place.
"Everyone deserves a second chance," Hyunjin shared his belief. "Even assholes like us."
Changbin chuckled sadly.
"Why are we such fools?" he wondered out loud. "We could have avoided this situation altogether if we'd just talked to each other."
"Y/N was right. Communication is pretty important," Hyunjin pointed out.
"Us men are idiots," Changbin shook his head.
"I couldn't agree more."
Jeongin's POV
Jeongin couldn't bear the sounds of Y/N sobbing. All alone in her room. She didn't deserve that. He had to make it stop.
"Can I come in?" he knocked on her door. "It's just me. Changbin and Hyunjin are out."
He didn't expect her to let him in so easily. She must have felt pretty lonely. Y/N unlocked the door and returned to her bed, still crying.
"Talk to me. Please." Jeongin pleaded but his serious tone suggested he wasn't asking.
"I thought Changbin loved me. Guess I was just deluding myself," she laughed but there was no amusement in her voice.
Jeongin debated whether he should tell her the truth. Changbin did love her. But he also loved Hyunjin. People were complicated like that. But the truth was never on Jeongin's side.
"I warned you humans were only going to hurt you," Jeongin responded coldly.
"Changbin didn't hurt me," Y/N shook her head in denial. "I hurt myself believing I was special."
"But you are special, bun. You have no idea how special you are," Jeongin spoke sincerely.
"I am?" she sniffed in disbelief.
"How can I prove it to you?"
"Just hold me," Y/N begged.
Jeongin pulled her into his arms and squeezed her tightly.
"I'm right here, bunny. You're safe with me," he promised.
"Thank you, Jeongin," she mumbled. "I feel much better already."
"I'll get you some water, you must be pretty dehydrated from all that crying," Jeongin observed.
"That'd be nice."
Jeongin went into the kitchen and poured a glass of water. Then, he took a couple of the sleeping pills Hyunjin had bought from his pocket, crushed them up with a knife and slipped them inside the glass. He used a spoon to make them dissolve quickly. Soon enough, he returned to her room, handing her the glass.
"Thanks," she whispered and gulped the water thirstily without thinking. All of it. Then, suddenly- "I'm exhausted. Will you tuck me in?"
"Of course," Jeongin pulled the blanket on top of Y/N. "All cosy and warm."
"Mmm," she murmured mindlessly, already beginning to doze off.
"Sleep well, bunny," Jeongin smiled devilishly as her consciousness faded into darkness.
To be continued...

okok so
i went to this theatre workshop type camp last summer, and it was in new york, and i saw my now-girlfriend from across the room and i swear sparks were flying from the moment i saw her
she came up to me and introduced herself and we just started… talking. it was so easy to talk to her and we had a lot in common, and she was so sweet :) we were just friends for about a month after that, texting pretty much all the time
eventually we started flirting and it was so unexpected! i was surprised when she responded to my compliments with flirty little things and it was so cute and genuine :)
we still weren’t dating but we had an interesting relationship where we flirted and sent sexy texts and all that stuff but never labeled it
in september i had a pretty bad mental break and we stopped talking until i think about two months ago when i reached out and apologized for behaving the way i did, we had some pretty serious conversations about guilt and love and soul-bonds and then she asked if i wanted to be her partner :)) we have a very healthy good communicative relationship and i love her sm <3
not quite a fairytale romance, we hit some bumps in the long road of having a relationship but things are good now and i love her :)
this is amazing!! and it's not a fairytale because life isn't one!! your love is real and honest and that's beautiful <3
tell me about meet cutes with your s/o !!!! or if it's a fictional scenario i don't care

Can't stop thinking about Chainsaw Man/Utena parallels.
what if you simply swapped the main characters?
(spoilers for both shows obviously)
Utena as Chainsaw Man An orphan girl with a devil for a heart gets a job hunting devils, and comes to realize that maybe being the superheroic Chainsaw Man isn't all it's cracked up to be. She meets a bunch of weird flawed people who don't live up to her fairytale ideals. She grapples with having a masculine, inhuman alter-ego. She struggles to find agency. She and Aki bond over their lofty goals. She has so many funny feelings about powerful women. Eventually, she realizes that being Makima's knight isn't what she wants, and she breaks free to live a normal life free of impossible expectations.
---
Utena in Denji's role would have all sorts of complex gender thoughts about being able to flip a switch and immediately become a superheroic prince. Instead of Denji's "I wanna touch boobs" as a misunderstanding of his desire for intimacy, I think Utena would initially want a harem fanclub of girls swooning over her. She would think of it as a heroic princely thing, but it'd actually just be a gay thing. Also, Quanxi is like the peak form of a female prince, so she probably has to be promoted to an important narrative foil.
I think Utena would actually fall even harder for Makima's manipulation than Denji did, partially because a beautiful woman saying "please be a superhero for me" is exactly what Utena already wants. Makima wouldn't even need to seduce her into it. Also, Denji knew he was attracted to Makima, but just didn't understand why it was a bad idea. Utena doesn't even initially realize her feelings, so she has a whole extra layer of stuff to unpack before she could decide to escape.
Denji Tenjou as The Revolutionary Prince/ss
An orphan boy who was rescued by a prince can't decide if he'd rather be a prince or a princess, so he settles for being a nobody. In the high society of Ohtori Academy, he is an uncouth hooligan. He kicks Saionji in the balls a dozen times instead of challenging him to a duel. Once Denji is wrapped up in the duels for the Rose Bride, he eventually realizes that, despite his desire for human connection, the structure of the duels(and the gender roles they represent) mean that there's no way he can be close to Anthy without hurting her. He realizes that he wants no part in that sort of manhood, and decides the only way to have a genuine connection with his weird roommate, is to become her guard dog and tear apart the power structures that force them both into gender roles. Also, Denji realizes he's probably not a dude.
---
Writing Denji and Anthy as having any romance at all feels like undercutting an important gay icon, but luckily I think it's in character for Denji to have a totally platonic relationship with Anthy. Unfortunately, it's also in character for him to initially, be very excited about the idea of having a girl he can boss around, but I think he would quickly realize how fucked up it is, even if he couldn't express why. I think he'd treat Anthy like a sibling for the most part. Maybe he'd try to hook up with other women on campus, but I think he'd fail catastrophically at it. As the duels go on, he would slowly piece together that basically no one on campus has healthy relationships. He would arrive at the idea that under the current system, any kind of healthy relationship is basially impossible, and decide the only way out is to end the duels for good. Denji would fight so dirty. Even if the duels are still fought with swords, I think Akio ends up getting chainsawed in half somehow.
---
Also I think these are somehow happening at the same time in the same world and somehow they cross over.

Chapter 5: Flirting
Warnings: Jealousy if you squint?
Chapter Notes: This is obv. not how the immigration process works but meh.
Synopsis: Simon was no stranger to torture and frankly, as far as torture went? This was pretty tame. What he hadn't ever experienced before, however, was coming out the other side with more than when he went in. - A random drabble that turned into a full blown story. The original title had been "Fairytale Stuff" but I changed it after some thought.
Tumblr media
Over the next month, Simon fought everyone to keep her on post with him. But ultimately, he was over ruled. He did, however, manage to get her a visa. For keeping his ass alive, he said when he handed the papers to her. She was still in the hospital, but in one of the lesser rooms. They were both malnourished to the max, their livers in dire need of care… kidneys shot, the works. But he rebounded quicker than she did.
He spent the next six months getting his strength built back up, his body back to the way it had been before… and he avoided talking about his time spent in the fucking dungeon. He also became notorious for stone-walling when it came to talk about Marian. She was his friend. Never mind the fact that he barely slept at the base anymore. Marian had gotten a job at a café in town… and was renting a small pebble-side flat just on the outskirts. She had herself a small garden that she worked tirelessly in… a bike that she used to get too and from everywhere though he offered to let her use his truck. She had just laughed at that, citing that she’d wreck it in a heartbeat since they drove on the ‘wrong side of the road here’.
Her flat was littered with his stuff… random things that he left strewn about. She was also a clothes thief, he found out. She’d steal his shirts all the time. ‘They’re comfortable!’ She’d exclaim as he riffled through her wardrobe and take them back. ‘They’re mine!’ He’d growl back. But… secretly… he liked seeing her in them. She’d use them as sleepwear and he… he really liked it.
The boys were almost always wanting him to define his relationship with her… he said they were friends and that was it. Gaz had rolled his eyes at that, Soap had called bullocks, and Price had just given him a raised brow. But they were just friends. That was all.
That’s what he told himself whenever he’d wake up wrapped around her… his face buried in her thick hair, now that she was healthy again- he found out quick that her hair wasn’t straight and stringy… it was thick and had a slight curl to it.
That’s what he told himself whenever he’d accidently walk into the bathroom to grab something he’d left in there when he was getting ready in the morning and she’d already be in the shower… and he’d catch a glimpse of her fuzzy outline through the frosted glass and he’d feel his chest tighten.
That’s what he told himself whenever he’d come in late from training and he’d find her having fallen asleep on the couch, a book fallen in her lap… and he’d carry her to bed… pull her little shorts off of her gently because he knew she didn’t like to sleep in them… and leave his shirt on her… and tuck her into bed… before he dressed down and climbed in behind her.
That’s what he told himself whenever he picked up some of those sweeties she liked on his way to her place simply because he knew she liked them.
And that’s what he told himself when he saw Soap walk into the morning briefing with a take-away cup from the café she worked at and he felt a spike of jealous anger stab into his brain.
He was washing the dinner dishes while she dried them and put them away that night when he mentioned it. “Soap come to the café this mornin’?” She didn’t pause or freeze or anything, just nodded. Yeah. He stopped in. Silence hung between them while he washed their plates. He was onto their cups when she spoke again. Why? He shook his head and handed them off.
“No reason.” More silence. He turned the faucet off now that he was done and dried his hands when she handed him the towel… but he felt her eyes on him. He turned and looked down at her and she reached up, tugged his balaclava down until it popped below his chin so she could see his whole face. He frowned at that. Why. She pressed. The corner of his mouth twitched. Her brows perked just slight at that. He’s not allowed to get coffee? He pressed is lips together and he folded his arms over his chest, leaning his hip against the counter. Ah. You just don’t want him getting coffee from me.
“Johnny flirts too much.” He heard himself say before he could stop the words from falling out of his mouth. Her brows shifted and she set her hands on those shapely hips of hers. She was still in her day clothes, having not torn down for the night. A form fitting long sleeved shirt and a pair of what she called yoga-pants that hugged her in all the right damned places. Maybe I like his flirting. His eyes immediately narrowed, anger snapping in them. Oh, you don’t like that, do you?
He scoffed and shoved off, walking out of the kitchen and aiming for the bedroom to dress down. He was done with this conversation. But she followed, because of course she did. No, no, Si. Don’t run off. Tell me what’s up. I shouldn’t let Soap flirt with me, why? Is he an asshole? He pulled his balaclava and shirt off and tossed both into the hamper and sighed, feeling his anger leach out of him. Her tone wasn't condescending or teasing, it was an honest question.
“No. He’s not an asshole.” An honest answer for an honest question. “He just… he plays around a lot.” He tugged his belt loose and started working on his jeans. There’s nothing wrong with that. “He also sleeps around a lot.” He glanced over at her, she was pulling the barretts out of her hair and setting them on top of her dressing table. She gave a slight shrug. Never said I wanted to sleep with him. But it’s nice to be hit on, ya know. He sighed and nodded. “Yeah.” He understood that.
He left the top button undone on his jeans, his belt hanging loose as he walked up behind her, his hands settling on her hips as he bent low and set his chin on her crown. His eyes locking with hers in the mirror as she worked on taking her earrings out. “You know you’re beautiful.” He swallowed thickly as his nerves spiked. She scoffed and rolled her eyes. You have to say that, you’re my person. He raised a brow at her. “Person.” She nodded and he straightened, allowing her to work the rest of her jewelry off. Yeah, ya know. Person. Like… more than a friend. Not a brother but like… person. She turned around and faced him, looking up at him… his hands sliding around until they were resting on her sides. Her hands settled on his chest and he couldn’t help but take a deeper breath. Like… like a soul mate. She swallowed thickly and it was his turn to scoff.
“Fairytale stuff.” She nodded. Yeah that. His eyes were flicking between hers… they were hazel. Sometimes green, sometimes tan… even some blue in there in the right light. And beautiful. She was… just his friend. He told himself again as he felt the almost overwhelming urge to kiss her. He ran his thumbs in a semi-circle over the front of her hips and felt her do the same on his chest… the moment was so damned… intimate. And so damned them.
The corner of his mouth quirked up as he felt the need to break this building tension. “I can start flirting with you if you want.” She fought a smirk and he quirked a brow. “Come here often?” She barked out a laugh and bowed her head, letting it fall against him as her shoulders rocked. He slid his hands up her back and rubbed her lightly. “Did it hurt when you fell from heaven?” She snorted another laugh and he swayed back as she playfully shoved at him. “Do you have any British in you?” She looked up at him with a gasp, her eyes wide as she slapped at him playfully. Simon! He held his hands up in faux innocence. “What?” You’re a terrible flirt. She shook her head and turned away from him, walking towards the bathroom… he bit his lower lip for a heartbeat.
“Hey, I know how to flirt.” Yeah, okay. She said with an air of disbelief before he took a long stride and bent low, wrapping his arms around her waist and brushing his lips against her ear. “The things you do to me, love…” He breathed out huskily… he felt her take in a sharp breath. “Could get lost in those eyes of yours…” He dipped his voice further and felt her shiver for him… in a very good way. S… Simon… the way she said his name though… it made him close his eyes and brush his nose against the shell of her ear. I submit. You can flirt. He had held his breath when she said she submitted but reminded himself fiercely that… she was just his friend!
He chuckled and straightened, letting her go. “Don’t you ever forget it.” He slapped her ass sharp and quick and playfully when she stepped away from him. She gasped and looked at him with high brows again. He just bounced his own dark brows at hers. She rolled her eyes and walked into the bathroom, disappearing behind the door. As soon as it clicked shut, he let his head fall back and he took a deep breath, trying to ease his internal storm. What the hell was he doing!-he yelled at himself.

Seven Days in Purgatory [Review]
Today I'm reviewing the dashington WIP "Seven days in Purgatory" by the author named I* also know in the COG forums as "Sel_Lee".
This piece is presented as a kind of psychological thriller, where the protagonist is an amnesiac person, now trapped in an adorable little house with their supposed partner.
I must admit that as a premise, it's certainly original and interesting, and I'm looking forward to see where it all goes.
CHAPTER 1
So the MC wakes up in what seems to be a bedroom, with the big difference that they are surrounded by medical equipment.
Not creeepy at all.
So what we get to know (Which is not told to us by the narrator but by the only other person we can interact with) is that we had some car accident, and this is why we been recovering at home. In Finland. Because that's totally what people do when their signifcant other falls into a coma. Nothing suspicious here.
So we get to choose our name as players, or we can have our totally-not-sus partner to remind us of it.
I'm squinting at you Anthony.
At that moment is obvious that our memory is clearly muddled. Some of the things that we seem to "remember" add ups to what our partner has been saying, but once again the memories are too confused and muddled.
I'm totally getting this vibe of fake security, for the whole ambiance the narrative puts us in. And the back that the MC seem to look rather unhealthy is clearly putting me off. I think I get the eerie vibes not only from the partner, but for the MC themselves.
There's some weird dissonance in there.
We go to sleep, and we have a psychedelic dream that takes us to the next chapter.
CHAPTER 2
Well we wake up in the most violent way possible, but darling is there to make sure we okay.
At that moment, the MC is clearly having some weird mental deluded state. I love the smell of past trauma in the morning, what can I say.
That the two characters were in a deep relationship and it's not lie, its quite obvious. Now the question is, if it was a healthy one.
MC has a memory place. Now given what happened, that's a big red flag to me. Like maybe I'm getting paranoid, but I'm getting the unreliable narrator vibes here.
Not to say this dude mind palace is complete mess and all over the place. I call on the guy being a complete psycho. I call it already.
This could be one of those "Who is trapped with who?" situation quite quickly. But I digress.
Okay so this time we are getting actual memories. That we have to believe are real. It's good to know that the MC wasn't exactly the most social person in there. But honestly I would feel the same with having to work with assholes.
There's this sudden quotes in the middle of the narrative, that are totally putting me off, but I mean it as a good thing. It almost feels like a someone reading a play out loud.
Freud's bullshit jokes are always appreciated.
Okay now we are going deep. Seems that the MC was quite the philosophical special potato. This still creeps me out.
I'm calling a tomato in the mirror. I'm calling it.
Hubbie didn't like to talk about other people it seems.
Now it's Queen time sprinkled with a bit of identity crisis.
You gonna call me genre savvy here, but those two are too cultured in such a modern setting. I read enough stuff, to say this smells fishy.
Okaaaaaaay, big reveal. Hubbie says he works for the FBI.
So you telling me, we have a prison nurse and a FBI analyst, living together in some isolated Finland cabin. And that's totallly normal.
Why is a federal agent out of the country? This is putting me off big time.
Well one thing is for sure. FBI hubbie is a horny animal.
And after a bit of Vivaldi we go back to the memory palace, to see what fucked stuff we are finding this time.
There's nothing like a room full of bodies and some dramatic castle at the top of the sea.
Psychotic bird killing. It's a good way to end the chapter.
CHAPTER 3
And we start with a Fairytale, as a way to emulate the obvious daddy issues along with some old daddy homophobia. So now we get even more trauma, it seems.
Now we get to explore more onto this whole social paradigma on the MC, trough the years of parental abuse.
So after a creppy tour around the nightmare cabin and some digging, we get listen to the enormous bird of wisdom.
Then I'm presented with some deep questions, and ofc I gotta choose what kind of kinks is the MC in. I'm a woman of a culture after all.
WELL IT'S GOOD TO KNOW THE MC IS SOME KINKY MOTHERFUCKER.
Thank you bird of wisdom.
To this point it's rather obvious to me, that those two end together, bonding over the past family trauma.
Anthony is being hella nice, but with the whole setting it's givng me some deep dissonance vibe. Almost as if the man is trying to hide something from the MC. Or maybe just being wary? Who knows.
Night never comes huh. So they are truly up there.
Now we have this little romantic picnic.
And now for the next dish, a bit of bloody food. I love how the MC can be rather child with it.
That was the creepiest exchanging of vows ever. Is this going to be some sort of psycho duo of love?
And with this totally normal interaction, we finish the chapter.
FINAL TOUGHTS
Well I wasn't expecting for this review to be this long, but it happened.
Now, it's obvious this IFs is not for everybody. But the author already warned about some degree of lack of player agency (unlike other) so one cannot truly complain.
Now as per my personal opinion. I been thinking deeply about what to say. This is quite something. This IF, this story, it's special. I'm not saying is the best thing ever or anything, but it has this vibe, this aura, that makes it shine between all the other works.
What is obvious to me, is that this is no amateur author. The way the narrative is flowing, how a lot of elements are described, there's a consistency there, almost like a rythm.
I have to admit I became fascinated by the story that it's been playing in front of my eyes. If the author is doing something that I consider is vital, is that they are trasmiting the feelings and the vibes of what it happening quite properly.
I will say it, it's been a while since I read an IF with this deep level of emotional inmersion, and I'm satisfied by it. I enjoyed the whole reading process, since the start to the end. It's a truly curated play, and I have doubts about it.
The setting is confusing, it's murky, and that's a great feeling when the story is about an amnesiac MC. You know there's something in there, almost like as I said before, we are not getting the whole perspective on it. This reminds me of an expresion that I read on a Japanese VN "You cannot truly hurt the moon, because you are unable to see it's truth form. So you will end stabbing the moon's reflection against the lake instead."
So we lack about of information, but the author manages to pull it properly, and it doesn't become a bother. On the contrary, it's like a puzzle slowly being completed, and you just want more and more pieces.
I like how the narrative goes into themes, and into situations that a lot of authors are afraid to go in. And I love to be able to look and analyze the psyche of the two actors in this play.
So I hope I can read more of this in a future, since this is a truly well done piece.

i loved you when you were gone [stranger things]
Tumblr media
Summary: How do you mourn something that never was? A little bit of post-season 3 Joyce Byers introspection with a healthy dose of Jopper angst.
For weeks after the events at Starcourt Mall people offer her condolences in the streets, at work, at her kids’ school. They treat her like Hop’s life partner, a loved one, and she doesn’t know how to tell them that she and Hopper didn’t even make it to their first date.
Instead, she takes comfort in their imagination. She wraps herself in the world of possibilities they lay at her feet. Surely if a place like the Upside Down exists, it’s not too far-fetched to believe that there are universes out there where she has the right to mourn him like she does.
People who knew them in high school tell her fairytales of teenage romance. Others have thrilling stories of forbidden relationships when she and Hop were both married to other people. Parents from the PTA recall how she embraced Jim after he saved Will last year—isn’t that where it all started? They forget she dated Bob Newby at the time.
Joyce doesn’t discourage these stories, ever the coward she was in high school. Let them believe what they will. Let her live some of these white lies and pretend like she’s mourning a past love instead of a memory that never was. Laying in bed at night in a silent house, she tortures herself with possibilities that never were, with a date she was too afraid and then too distracted to entertain. She clutches at her pillow and prays for forgiveness until she falls asleep from exhaustion.
In her dreams, she relives the battle over and over again. The heat of the control room. The kids’ screams. Her heart races. Every night the nightmare comes, she jolts awake in sweat-damped sheets.
The gate is closed. Hopper is dead.
The bags under her eyes darken. Powell hands her a box of Jim’s stuff from the office. Karen and Ted Wheeler arrange for the kids to hang out at their house for the rest of the summer. Jonathan drives Will and Eleven to school on the rare mornings she sleeps in.
Joyce doesn’t think she deserves the pitying look people give her, not when she kept Hopper at arms’ length. Not when she held onto that friendship label to prevent herself the very heartache she was experiencing now. Not when she was the one who condemned him to this fate.
They don’t know. To them, she’s a victim of the same tragedy that took their families, and she can’t tell them that they’re wrong. She isn’t the victim.
She’s the killer.

Can you do a reading about how the empress is doing? Is this person okay? Is Pedro still in the path for love?
Hi! Since we were talking about relationships and stuff, let's see how the Empress situation is going.
Before I start, we need to remember this person is a figure that showed up in Pedro's love readings last year and who had the potential to be a healthy and fulfilling relationship for him. But here is the thing, when we talk about this person, we do not mean it to be like a fairytale love story, a perfect relationship and person who was coming over to save him from himself. That's not the point. Even if we think of past lives and karma connections or whatever, it's not supposed to be a rom com kind of ideal happy ending. It's just the potential for love and a healthy and happy relationship that could knock on his door. However, I have always said people have free will, and no Oracle can take that from them. And one thing that's been happening is Pedro is still not open to love, and that's ok, it's a choice. My friend has been saying she thinks he has already met this person but didn't let them in, and I agree. I even posted a reading about them potentially having met last year.
Tumblr media
That said, I pulled some cards to see how it's going and the result was another very clear one. The first cards were The Wheel of Fortune, 5 of Hedgehogs and The Emperor. Well, The Wheel of Fortune is the card of Destiny, besides being the one that represents the ups and downs in life and how life is always in movement, as the Universe also is. But the 5 of Hedgehogs is a card that represents loss, and it's usually linked to the material world, work and money, but if we think of feelings, there's a general poorness when it comes to feelings, this kind of void. And look who is right after, The Emperor, who is Pedro himself and The Empress's pair. The Wheel is still turning and there's a touch of Destiny in all this situation, it might even have ups and downs, BUT the Emperor is blocking all of it, he remains in restraint, he won't let himself react instinctively, he will be disciplined and focused but not in his feelings, not with all the poorness of the 5 of Hedgehogs. The Emperor stays in his Tower, but watching from afar.
Tumblr media
The next cards were the 6 of Spears, the Ace of Flowers and 10 of Hedgehogs. 6 of Spears points to him having gone through some troubling waters in the past, but he is now over them, he is peaceful. The Ace of Flowers is the card of potential, it's full of the energy that leads to action, the energy to make new ideas happen, and Pedro has been really in this mindset, with lots of plans and projects. 10 of Hedgehogs has been present in many of his readings lately, and it represents wealth, satisfaction and sustained success. He's enjoying all this comfort and stability after working so hard, and he might even become selfish about, like he doesn't want to be disturbed by anything now.
Tumblr media
The last cards were the 9 of Flowers, Knight of Flowers and Transformation. That was the clearest part in my opinion. 9 of Flowers is the card of hesitation, of not really believing you can pull it off, and the Knight of Flowers is our Pedro once more, the one who can go hot and cold very quickly, the one that will give something or someone all his attention but this attention is also fleeting and he will be gone sooner rather than later. This is our commitment-phobe, the one that thinks Mando's lifespan is intimidating and who is grateful to be able to not be in the helmet all the time so he can accept other projects and never stay too long in just one thing. With the hesitation of the 9 of Flowers, does he even think he can sustain a relationship for long? I doubt it. He's always changing, he's a nomad. And Transformation, as Death in the regular decks, is telling us he would have to go through this radical change in his ways before he can do long-term relationships, he would have to leave everything he's always known behind to start anew and do things differently.
In the end, he doesn't HAVE to. If he decides to keep being single or just having flings, short-term relationships or ONS, that's also just fine. We are again not saying he is celibate and is never banging/seeing anyone, just that the cards are very clear about him not being ready for a long-term relationship, for a real commitment to someone. It's not like he hasn't said it himself several times. Remember in 2017 he said that if he was going to be in a relationship, he would want to pay attention to it and to nurture it and he just didn't have time for that. It is and always will be his choice.
Tumblr media
Funny thing, however, is I asked if he is still in the path for love, and the card was the 2 of Teacups. The card with huge potential for love, unions and relationships, so he might get there at some point, IF he wants to.
Also remember this card could also not be necessarily referring to romantic love. It could always be some other kind of love. We'll see...
As a last thought about this whole subject, I pulled one card and it was the 7 of Hedgehogs, basically saying he is not the there yet. He still has work to do on himself before he can be ready.
Tumblr media
PS: I know you have seen this same outcome and even repeated cards in countless readings for him. Trust me, his cards are really just THAT consistent. Maybe the one thing that's constant about him... lol
