(TS retains the image of the young innocent virgin white girl despite being 35 years old and every one of her songs is about a man)
wrote a song about the stupidity of the American work system
(TS is a billionaire with two private jets)
has supported the queer community for decades even through some of its darkest times like the AIDS crisis
(TS uses the queer community like a prop)
started a scientific organization to help cure viruses like AIDS and that even helped develop the Covid vaccine
(TS made the last superbowl all about her becauses she was dating one of the players)
has run a charity since 1995 that sends millions of books to children in poverty, particularly the rural south where she grew up
(TS has done nothing for the south and its problems despite her southern belle persona)

Honey thats the absolute bare minimum.

That's holding the door open for someone in a wheelchair.
Thats waving back to a little kid when they wave at you.
It takes 0 risk and 0 effort and should not be a point of praise.

I’m not saying this to be a bitch or discredit Taylor’s pain but she needs therapy. The irony of telling someone you love to get your shit together who is depressed and then Taylor herself who was in a manic/depressive episode as well is disgusting & hypocritical. Like imagine saying to your bf “I’m depressed right now so I need you to get your shit together and stop being depressed as well.” That’s not healthy.
I think it’s safe to assume that Taylor still isn’t getting professional help. Like clearly she doesn’t feel sane anymore and writing songs as therapy isn’t working anymore. I also think she has some deep seated issues when it comes to jealousy and revenge. I’m all for Kim K getting what she deserves but I was disappointed of Taylor bringing North into her beef with Kim.
I hate to be one of those people but I think it’s a huge red flag that she clearly has these deep issues and still isn’t getting the help she needs for it.

totally respect people tearing Taylor down after that subpar album but I’d like to take this space to hype up other female artists who haven’t completely drained their creative wells. Welcome to C’s music recs (women only because disliking Taylor doesn’t make you a misogynist.)
1. Cowboy Carter. Oh my god. This woman never misses. Beyoncé is consistently fantastic no matter what she’s up to. My personal favorites are AMERIICAN REQUIEM, PROTECTOR, and 16 CARRIAGES. This album feels a bit like listening to the radio while also listening to someone’s life story and it’s goddamn insane.
2. I listened to Feminomenon for the first time yesterday and I was jamming so hard. Yes Chappell Roan I too will prioritize my own wants and needs over the attention of some mediocre man who does not deserve me thank you queen. Like seriously I can’t stand clubbing but now I want to go out clubbing just so that I can dance to this song with my friends.
3. One of three songs that I actually enjoy on TTPD is Florida!!! And it’s only because of Florence. Because holy shit, Florence. I’ve become unhealthfully obsessed with Dream Girl Evil, Ship to Wreck, Shake It Out, Big God and Hunger.
4. Olivia Rodrigo continues to kill it. If my future relationship isn’t like so american, I don’t want it. And I know it’s been a while but Can’t Catch Me Now is still on my Heavy Rotation Replay every single week.
5. This is preemptive but…. New Billie Eilish in a month?????? Hell yes????

I used to be one of Taylor Swift's biggest fans. I grew up listening to her and I have been a fan since I was five. Which is why it is so disappointing how she has stayed silent about the attack on Gaza. She won person of the year and chose not to use that to bring attention to Gaza. Worst of all, she turned her fanbase against her ex-boyfriend, Joe Alwyn, who has used his platform multiple times to bring attention to Palestine. She's only a "feminist" when it benefits her.

Taylor’s reputation got saved by Joe all of those years. If she had never met him, she would’ve been unable to recover from the backlash. I am an ex swiftie so I can say that Taylor around him had a different personality. It seemed like she had some personality and that she had finally learned some real maturity (apologizing to Katy Perry for example) and that she was ready to be more outspoken about social issues but it was just fake. This was her trying to fit into Joe’s activism. It’s not a coincidence that she’s back to being her very immature self and out of touch with reality self since she’s now dating men that are equally as awful as her. Not only that but Joe participated in the making of Folklore/Evermore - lyrically her most mature albums. She really fumbled the bag but I hope Joe finds someone that actually deserves him.
More and more people are starting to realise that Joe was the lyrical genius behind Folklore. Without him we get crass lines like 'tattooed golden retriever' and 'he touches me while his bros play Grand Theft Auto.'
