Buddy Request: are you a Loki obsessed high fantasy lover?
I would really like to connect with fellow Loki fans who want to rant about/analyze Loki and Thor's psychology, family dynamics, Asgardian society, Jotunheim, magic/seiðr, and the Nine Realms. Ideas/thoughts that aren't canon-compliant with the MCU are more than welcome!
Here are some fics with these types of themes that I have thoroughly enjoyed and been inspired by:
Ásgarðrian Galdr by Valerie_Vancollie
Bargaining by proantagonist ( @proantagonista ) [thank you SO MUCH for the rec @alwida10!]
Frostbite by Maiden_of_Asgard
Once More With Empathy by Kairyn ( @bfaymiller )
A Fairytale Beginning by the_lady_amphitrite ( @the-lady-amphitrite )
Let me set the scene:
For the past year and a half, I've been working on developing a longfic featuring a Thor 2011 Loki and an OC Sigyn. Honestly, I don't think that I'll get around to posting it anytime soon (there's still so much work to be done on it), but it's constantly on my mind. It's sort of a hybrid concept of the MCU, Norse Mythology, my own ideas, OCs, and magic systems. It has an epic scope with multiple arcs and characters from most of the Nine Realms. Do you like characters with wings? I got you covered. An imminent threat to the Nine Realms? Check. An in-depth analysis of Ásgarðr and Jǫtunheimr's history uncovered during Loki's identity crisis? A Jǫtunn OC? A Laufey that never wanted to lose their child? Check, check, and check.
I've found it hard to talk to people about all this because it involves a LOT of worldbuilding. Epic fantasy definitely isn't for everyone and this will not be a "light" read. Some non-fanfic stories that have inspired me along the way include the Roots of Chaos series by Samantha Shannon (The Priory of the Orange Tree and A Day of Fallen Night) and Lord of the Rings by J.R.R. Tolkien. So if you like those types of stories, you might like the ideas I come up with.
If you relate to anything I've said, I also want to mention that I would love to hear about your ideas as well! If you feel trapped inside your own head and feel hesitant to "info-dump" on people, I am the person for you. And hey, maybe we can inspire each other :) Fanfiction is not about gatekeeping, and I have been unabashedly inspired by so many different takes on Loki that I've read along the way.
Sending this out into the Tumblr void, hoping it finds the right people!

just saw your offer for book recs and would love some fantasy/sci fi books, it seems like we have similar taste. i just finished nk jemisin's broken earth trilogy, and also loved the city we became by her.
Aha, I am at work right now and thus do not have my bookshelves at hand to make sure I'm not missing something blindly obvious. However, I will start you off with these:
The Rook and Rose trilogy by M.A. Carrick (The Mask of Mirrors, The Liar's Knot, Labyrinth's Heart). Yes, this is the series I have been screaming about nonstop for the past few weeks and thus craftily suckering unsuspecting passersby into reading. An AMAZING world, an OT3 who own my entire ass, lots of political intrigue, cultural and social commentary, a unique magic system, and also plenty of humor. It really has it all. I continue my one-man quest to make this fandom bigger. Ahem.
The Green Bone trilogy by Fonda Lee (Jade City, Jade War, Jade Legacy). Another fantastic fantasy series that NEEDS more readers. Inspired by Chinese/Hong Kong kung-fu movies, set in a gritty modern universe, kind of like the Godfather but with magical jade-wielding families. Tons of discussion of empire, culture, violence, appropriation, power, war, family, Asian identity, more. They're likewise nice and long to keep you busy.
The Daevabad trilogy by S.A. Chakraborty (The City of Brass, The Kingdom of Copper, The Empire of Gold). Another you-gotta-read-this trilogy (yes, I have many of them). Set in the 18th-century Middle East and the magical djinni kingdom of Daevabad. Politics, empire, religion, history, intrigue, magic, scheming families, ancient wars, and my most beloved, Muntadhir al-Qahtani. What is not to love.
The Priory of the Orange Tree and its standalone prequel, A Day of Fallen Night, by Samantha Shannon. Absolute doorstopper (800+ pages apiece) epic-with-dragons-and-medieval-worlds fantasy, like Game of Thrones if Game of Thrones was a) good b) gay c) feminist and d) had people of color. She is also the author of the Bone Season series (four books thus far) which is a unique blend of futuristic sci-fi and fantasy set in an alternate totalitarian London and a ruined Oxford.
Winter's Orbit and Ocean's Echo by Everina Maxwell. Two M/M space opera romances (set in the same universe, but can be read independently). She got her start as a fanfic writer and it shows; these are both delightful, plotty, funny, and full of sassy gay disaster homosexuals in space.
A Memory Called Empire and A Desolation Called Peace by Arkady Martine (I have read the first one, need to read the second one). Historian of medieval Byzantium writes space opera set in Space Constantinople which is also Space Tenochtitlan. Explores language, history, memory, power, identity, assimilation, and more, and is also very funny.
Autonomous, The Future of Another Timeline, and The Terraformers by Annalee Newitz. High-concept social-commentary dystopian science fiction; of the three, Terraformers (the newest one) might be my favorite. They're not related so you can read them in whatever order.
Two books that I have not read yet but I really want to: Swim Home to the Vanished by Brendan Shay Basham and To Shape a Dragon's Breath by Moniquill Blackgoose. Both are fantasy novels by Native American authors; Basham's is magical realism and Blackgoose's is about a Native American dragon-rider facing assimilation at an English (Anglish) boarding school.
Likewise coming soon and I am excited: The Jinn-Bot of Shantiport by Samit Basu. Middle Eastern-inspired fantasy, cyberpunk, techno-magic. In space!
There are definitely more that I will get home and be like oh wait yeah. But this should get you started.

different anon here but does your gf have any good lesbian media/book recs (since she read so many lesbian books in such a short amount of time lol)!!
gf said, and i quote,
“i’m going to take the rest of the day off to work on this list”
so without further ado, here is her short list of recs copied straight from her (and with my own comments in italics for the ones i know):
Okay! So here’s my book recommendations.
- Fingersmith by Sarah Waters. Loved this book, love all Sarah’s books (haven’t read the non-gay one though, sorry not sorry). Sarah is a great one for the twists and I enjoyed this one so much that I actually recommended the book to my mam and she also loved it. The story is gay + set in the 19th century + lady/handmaiden trope so what’s not to like. Also really recommend. For related media, there’s a BBC miniseries based off of it, and a film by Park Chan-wook called The Handmaiden, which is honest to god one of the best films ever made. It is harrowing, but it is brilliant.
- Tipping the Velvet by Sarah Waters. Again, gay + set in the 19th century. Explores the queer scene in Victorian London to its full extent. A real page turner. GREAT fun, a little dark at points, but good and raunchy.
- The Paying Guests by Sarah Waters. Gay + 1920s + yearning + tense + murder + dramatic. My recommendation when it comes to Sarah’s books is to give them time. Do not put them down because I promise you they will get GOOD.  Slowburn of slowburns. Gorgeous.
- Affinity by Sarah Waters. Gay + Victorian prison + disgraced spiritualist. Compared to the other three this one is actually a little bit… boring? You’re kinda waiting for something to happen for a long time but WHEN IT DOES boy is it worth it. And that part that’s worth waiting for actually made me want to read it again.
- The Night Watch by Sarah Waters. This was a bit like Affinity for me in that I was waiting for it to pick up a bit but once again, Sarah did not disappoint and I finished it wanting to read it again. The story is told backwards through third-person narrative, takes place in 1940s London during and after WWII and follows ‘Kay, Helen and Julia, three lesbians; Viv, a straight woman; and Duncan, her brother, whose sexuality is ambiguous.’
- One Last Stop by Casey McQuiston. This was my favourite book of 2021 because I read it as a baby gay and it’s set in modern times and is so full of life and found family and fun but also considers life for gay people in the 1970s and things that they didn’t often get to experience (loudly, at least). It tugged at my heart this one. For the “sort by top kudos” “filter for fluff” fanfic reader. Not really my style.
- This is How You Lose the Time War by Amal El-Mohtar and Max Gladstone. This is the most beautiful book I’ve ever read. As Madeline Miller said, ‘this book has it all: treachery and love, lyricism and gritty action, existential crisis and space-opera scope, not to mention time travelling superagents.’ This story is truly gorgeous. Unbelievable. Not even words to describe how good this one in. Possibly my favourite read of all time.
- Afterlove by Tanya Byrne. This book made me cry! In…a good way? I’m not sure. But I enjoyed it. Set in modern day when MC dies and joins ‘a clan of fierce girl reapers who take the souls of the city’s dead to await their fate’ but can’t forget her first love who she’ll do anything to see again. This one just tugged at my heart a lot.
- Priory of the Orange Tree by Samantha Shannon. Epic fantasy. Dragons. Follows many characters in GoT style so it requires A LOT of focus. This isn’t a light read but it’s very good (and a prequel is coming out in 2023). IF YOU LIKE FANTASY AT ALL READ THIS ONE IMMEDIATELY.
- Annie on my Mind by Nancy Garden. Okay this one will definitely not be the most well-written book you’ve ever read buuuuut there’s something VERY precious about it. It follows the relationship between two 17-year-old girls, Annie and Liza, in New York. As far as I know, when this book was published in 1982, it became the first YA novel ever to depict a main character’s same-sex relationship in a positive light. (In the 90s copies of this book were burned on the steps of a school in Kansas and there was a whole court case about it).
- Gideon the Ninth, Harrow the Ninth and Nona the Ninth by Tamsyn Muir. Oh these are great. I was about 100 pages in to the first two before I could grasp what was going on but the story is intriguing, the characters are great, there’s good humour, and the world is fascinating. The first one, Gideon, is almost like Hunger Games meets Cluedo. I’d highly recommend these and I can’t wait until my gf reads them so I can talk to her about them.
- Everything Leads to You by Nina LaCour. This one is a nice, light read. MC is interning as a set designer so I found this aspect of it really interesting actually. Has some mystery, some gay love, so like why not read it.
- Matrix by Lauren Groff. ‘Born from a long line of female warriors and crusaders, and cast out from the royal court, Marie is sent to become the prioress of an abbey.’ This is a bit of a dreary, grey read (probably due to the setting and period, think Wuthering Heights), but there was something about it that fascinated me and kept drawing me back in.
- The Falling in Love Montage by Ciara Smyth. Lesbian rom-com set in modern Ireland. Very light, easy read (with some serious topics too).
- Not my Problem by Ciara Smyth. Again, a very light and easy read for the most part, with a touch on some heavier issues. Quite funny too!
- Last Night at the Telegraph Club by Malinda Lo. Set in 1950s America and tells the story of Lily Hu, a teenage daughter of Chinese immigrants as she begins to explore her sexuality. This time period was really interesting and the incorporation of Chinese culture into the story was something I hadn’t read before.

hibi, i absolutely love your writing style. it's magic and i have spent quite a bit of time re-reading your work! i was just wondering, what your fav non-fanfic books and authors were? where do you get your inspiration to write? p.s hope everything is going well w the pregnancy!!!
Oh my god I love you thank you I needed the reminder that I’ve put good work out there even in the drought 😭😭😭 thank you so much
I love the fantasy genre! I always have I always will. All of my writing has some inspiration from some fantasy book I’ve read. I loveeee Brandon Sanderson (the Stormlight Archive in particular), Naomi Novik, Tamora Pierce (TSOR takes a LOT of inspo from her Tortall universe). Wheel of Time by Robert Jordan is one of my favorite series of all time. Ursula Le Guin is the GOAT—everything she’s written is gold. I also take a lot of inspo from Priory of the Orange Tree and A Day of Fallen Night (though I didn’t like any of Shannon’s other work lol). I also read and write a lot of poetry which I think has definitely influenced my style.
I also find inspiration from a lot of things, like music and art, but I honestly also use writing as a way to work through things in my own head. ¡Revolución! is a p clear example of what I mean by that lmao. How do I use writing as catharsis and as a way to imagine something better for the world? If I could create a universe, what would I want to see in it? I write for myself first and foremost, and I really think that keeps me motivated and honest to myself :)
Thank you again bb!!!

Hiii Sen! Been a huge fan for a bit more than 3 years now and your writing has literally changed my life (honestly). You write so beautifully and your plots are so well developed, you’re extremely talented and I just thank you for sharing your passion with us! I was just curious about your all time favorite books? I’m having trouble finding good plots nowadays, especially with booktok hyping up lots of (what I’d consider) mid books like CoHo stuff. What are books that had you hooked or you couldn’t put down that you would recommend? Thanks again for sharing your fanfics with us, you’re truly amazing!! 💖
Haha. Well, I have a book rec’s tag of books I’ve recc’d in the past, but I had a while where I was really struggling with reading and would just get completely distracted whenever I tried to read anything. But I’ve gotten back on the horse this year, although I’m by no means consuming literature at booktok speed, I’ve found a few books that I quite liked this year.
Five star reads this year, as in books I loved and I’ll reread:
The Hundred Thousand Kingdoms by NK Jemison
Gone Girl by Gillian Flynn
Braiding Sweetgrass by Robin Wall Kimmerer
Circe by Madeline Miller
The End of the Myth by Greg Grandin
Spinning Silver by Naomi Novik
Four star reads, as in books I thoroughly enjoyed but probably won’t reread, bold is 4.5 stars)
Parable of the Sower by Octavia E Butler
The Secret History by Donna Tartt (a surprise because I nearly threw The Goldfinch across the room)
The Eye of the Heron by Ursula K Le Guin
The Song of Achilles by Madeline Miller
The Fifth Season by NK Jemison
The Cruel Prince trilogy by Holly Black
The Seven Husbands of Evelyn Hugo by Taylor Jenkins Reid
The Priory of the Orange Tree by Samantha Shannon
The Daevabad Trilogy by SA Chakraborty
The Girls I’ve Been by Tess Sharpe
The Bone Shard Daughter by Andrea Stewart
A Deadly Education by Naomi Novik
Cultish by Amanda Montell
Vespertine by Margaret Rogerson

Let’s forget the world even exists | Ead x Sabran
[tags: modern au | soft | casual intimacy]
She looked at those emerald eyes and smiled tenderly. The woman in front of her was so beautiful and gentle, so cautious about them, and Ead couldn't think about a perfect way to describe all of her feelings. She tried to put it into words but none of those letter sets, in any language she knew, were capable of properly delivering all the mixed feelings that would take over her body anytime Sabran looked at her, kissed her, touched her.
Without words, Ead took the clothes off and accepted the silent invitation to get in the bathtub. She carefully positioned herself between beautiful legs, filling the space, and let the slender fingers caress her dark skin. Chills running down her spine and butterflies on her belly, thrilled to be that close to her lover, that intimate. Usually Ead liked to take Sabran in her arms and whisper sweet nothings on her ears, but it was also a magical moment whenever the same thing was made by her lover - which would happen frequently.
"Hard day?" Sabran asked, and her voice could be the one you'd hear if you've ever entered paradise. Wet fingers pressed Ead's shoulders, massaging briefly before she took a small bowl from beside the bathtub.
"Sort of '', she answered, sighing, bending back her head and closing her eyes when the other woman collected water with the small container. The water intertwined with dark curls, making them heavier, glistening more under the bathroom light. The gentle hand caressed the locks, and Ead could only think about how she loved to be touched by Sabran. How everything inside of her lit up even with the small contacts, pieces of happiness like a lot of other things with her lover. “How about yours?”
“It was good, I guess.” The brunette drenched the curly brown hair, leaving a peck on Ead’s shoulder after it. The bowl was soon forgotten, whilst Sabran pulled the other so her back was against her front.
“I thought we were bathing” a small grin appeared on full lips, Ead turned her head so she could look Sabran so closely. Her voice was low, almost a whisper, like that conversation was secret, and her eyes carried the most beautiful glit Sabran had ever seen.
“Hm, yes” she answered, an arm resting on the tub edge while they holded each other's hands, fingers interlocked. Smiling too, the other hand traveled slowly to Ead’s shoulder. And then her fingertips started a dance, lazily tracing invisible patterns on her brown skin. Whispering, communicating with just the necessary intensity because her lover was so close, so close, and no one else was in the room. Just the two of them exchanging looks, deep brown on emerald green, mixed breaths, conscious of every inch of their skins against each other. “But first I would like to just sit here, caressing you”
It was the shared smiles and small laughs. The love words they would whisper on repeat and the kisses. The sense that whatever they were feeling was different and right. Like a storm in the middle of the sea, agitating the waters, creating big waves; but such a natural thing to see. It could be scary, but they knew that land was coming soon, so they would just let themselves go with the movements. Like trees falling due to fast and intense winds; nature at its finest. Their love could move the most rigid things inside of them, and it was okay.
It was probably the most peaceful they’ve been after hectic days on their jobs. They’d always manage to get free hours for each other but that night was a completely free one, and they wanted to take advantage of it.
So there they stayed. Talking, eventually falling in silence, admiring each other and the smallest details, leaving traces of heat and endearment against the contrasting skins, with gentle touches.

Oh, boy, okay, book update. This has been a long time in the making because I switched up books, switched back, read a fanfic, got distracted by a TV series, and have been tearing my hair out as we are in the final month of wedding planning.
Tumblr media
I was reading A Day of Fallen Night. I stopped because I thought I would take it on my honeymoon, but it’s a THICC book, so now I am not so sure.
Similar to The Priory of the Orange Tree, this book takes some getting into, but once it takes off, it really takes off.
Part way through A Day of Fallen Night I paused to read Draco Malfoy, and the Mortifying Ordeal of Being in Love, and I think this will forever live rent free in my head. I haven’t read fanfic since probably high school, and I could not set this one down. It was super well written. The Harry Potter follow-up story we should have gotten. Then I paused again because I got really into a show on Hulu called The Artful Dodger. Fun late 1800s period drama with some romance thrown in. Super well done, and just so happened to have David Thewlis in it, who played Remus Lupin in the HP series. I then switched entirely to reading Iron Flame, FINALLY, and finished it. FINALLY.
There was so much criticism about this book, about how poorly written it was, and how it was just an ACOTAR rip off. As I was reading I kept thinking, “huh, is this the part that it starts to get bad? Cuz this is still pretty good…” While I could still see how some parts seemed very ACOTAR-ish, there are enough differences in this book that I don’t really understand that part either.
I am torn on what I want to read next, because whatever I start next I will likely end up taking on the honeymoon and I want to make sure that I really, really am going to enjoy it. With that in mind I think I may actually restart the ACOTAR series and see if I can get all the way through it in one go this time. Wish me luck.

Get To Know Me
Who dis? It's me! Been a hot minute, hasn't it? This year has been a pile of dung up until now, if I'm being completely honest, hence my absence from Tumblr and most social media. I had an accident in December and have been feeling like dirt ever since. But: I'm back now! Mostly thanks to my beloved @johaerys-writes and the amazing @mogwaei who tagged me for this game. Thanks to you two! ❤ It's been a please reading your posts.
And now: Let's dive in!
Share your wallpaper: I'm a very boring person who has her own artwork as a wallpaper on her phone (talking about this study I did last year). XD It reminds me that (every once in a while) I do create something that I actually enjoy without any self-doubt or regret, and I like that.
Last song you listened to: "Eyes Closed" by Ed Sheeran. I'm a very basic person, lol.
Currently reading: Let me check Goodreads real quick... Yeah, I'm reading far too many books at the same time again. So here's the top 3 of books I'm reading and enjoying the most atm:
The Blacktongue Thief by Christopher Buehlman
Priory of the Orange Tree by Samantha Shannon
Project Hail Mary by Andy Weir
There's also a bunch of fanfic I need to catch up on but my mind has been all over the place.
Last move: "Dungeons & Dragons: Honor Among Thieves". My P&P podcast party had been invited to a preview 2 weeks ago and we had a fun time watching that movie.
Craving: Time off. I've been working non-stop for the past 8 months or so (with Christmas being the only exception) and I'm feeling super drained right now. Luckily, there are a few short trips coming up in April and July, so there is that!
What are you wearing right now: Basic black jeans and a white knitted sweater. It's spring but it's still flipping cold in my apartment. Ooph!
How tall are you: 168 cm or 5'5 feet (I guess?)
Piercings: Just the two for my earrings. As I said, I'm *very* basic. :')
Tattoos: Currently I got two but I plan on getting more later this year. Gotta save up some money first.
Glasses? Contacts? I got 3 different glasses (transparent, gold and brown frames) and contacts because I like to switch things up.
Last drink: I'm currently having some coffee with oat milk aka The breakfast of Champions. Or so I keep telling myself XD
Last thing you ate: Chicken wrap with lots of cheese. It was amazing.
Favorite color: My taste in color(s) shifts constantly but I'm currently obsessed with green in various tones. I keep getting back to like a warmer green because it makes me feel very cozy. But I also adore a good color combo of orange and violet/lilac or yellow and dark blue. It depends on my mood.
Current obsession: Truth be told, because of the current state of my mental health, I have a hard time being obsessed about anything. It's not like I can't enjoy things (I know that that feels like and I don't want to get back to *those days*) but there's not hyperfixation that lives rent-free in my head. And you know what? It feels terrible! I miss the feeling of being utterly obsessed about something. I crave that level of excitement, honestly!
Unrelated Obsession: Okay, I guess this means non-fandom obsessions. I do have one of those! A short while back, I read a book by the title "Genghis Khan and the Making of the Modern World" which was fascinating. I loved that it was not Euro-centric and instead focussed on the achievements of Genghis and his successors. I've been gobbling media with the same or similiar topics – including finally playing "Ghost of Tsushima" which send me reading up on the Mongol invasion of Japan. It's been an intriguing ride!
Any pets: I'm too allergic to have cats, dogs, and other animals and I hate it. I want a little doggo so badly... 💔
Do you have a crush on anyone: IRL? Not anymore. I used to have a crush for most of last year but since he started ghosting me a few months back, I decided to focus my attention elsewhere. I'm *done* with dating and have been for the past couple of years. As for fictional characters... I have to go with Solas, although (as I mentioned) my excitement has died down somewhat. I still love that boy to death but I'm not as obsessed as I used to be.
Favorite fictional character: How dare you make me chose one?! I have a trillion fave characters and they're all precious to me ;_; No, I will not pick one because I truly can't!
The last place you traveled: I went to Cologne, my hometown, three weeks ago, but I assume that doesn't count as traveling. I think my last real vacation was in 2019 when I travelled to the Leipzig Book Fair. Oh my... 😅 (And I was wondering why I felt so drained all the time, lol. Dang... what a reality check. This hurts!).
That's it! Hope you enjoyed the read :3
Time to forward some tags. As always, please feel free to join in or ignore the tag: @serial-chillr @faerieavalon @thebookworm0001 @ohmypawsandwhiskers @pikapeppa @oxygenforthewicked @fiadhaisteach @noire-pandora @ellie-effie. Sending all of you lots of love. I hope you're doing great!
Until next time, lovelies! <3

books & fics recommendation sugi????
Lincoln in the Bardo by George Saunders: one of my all-time favorite authors and a tremendous book that made me cry in public.
Priory of the Orange Tree by Samantha Shannon: I do wish that this was two books rather than one, but it was a great read and very well written.
Native Speaker by Chang-Rae Lee: I read this one in college and it remains one of those stories that stays with you.
On Earth We're Briefly Gorgeous by Ocean Vuong: the command over language in this is stunning and poetic.
Howl's Moving Castle by Diana Wynne Jones: one of my faves and just a comfort read.
Inkheart by Cornelia Funke: Childhood favorite. I loved this more than Harry Potter and was forever bitter that it wasn't as popular 🤧
Fanfics: My AO3 page has bookmarks on stories I'd recommend from some of my writing friends/things that I came across and liked, so feel free to browse those. I don't read as much fanfic as I used to cause of work/life/ my own writing, but if anyone's got recs that they've read or are writing, I'm very happy to make the time. I do usually comment, so there's one plus 😊

My time at Barnes & Noble today was actually pretty amusing all on its own.
I was browsing randomly, not looking for anything in particular, and I stopped to look at the "Buy One, Get One 1/2 Off" table. The Priory Of The Orange Tree was there, and since I already have that one I picked up the book next to it. That was Legends & Lattes, which I must say I am delighted to have stumbled upon. But while I was still reading the synopsis and trying to decide whether or not to buy it, two other customers walked past the table and asked an associate for recommendations. And she picked up Legends & Lattes and proceeded to pitch it to them!
She wasn't talking to me, but her pitch nonetheless managed to convince me so I grabbed L&L and also its prequel, Bookshops & Bonedust (Hey, 50% off).
As I was heading to checkout I walked past the customer service desk and I heard a guy on the phone explaining fanfiction. As in, explaining the concept itself. I didn't want to eavesdrop, but from what I gathered as I passed by somebody had called in looking to buy a physical copy of a fanfic from Fanfiction.Net. And this guy was trying to explain that you can't buy an actual book of the story you found. He was explaining what FF.Net is, and how they're stories that people write on their own and upload, and that you can't publish them.
He was explaining it rather good-naturedly, but I could tell that whoever was on the other end of the phone line just wasn't getting it.
The cashier was a young woman who has checked me out before, when she saw L&L she said that it was also on her To Be Read list. We commiserated a bit over how the TBR list just grows longer and longer.
