Can you please do #16 Team bus shenanigans with Lia Wälti. Maybe Lia and reader being team moms trying to stop the shenanigans.
Tumblr media
Team Bus Antics
Lia Wälti x reader
warnings: none
As the Arsenal Women's team bus rumbled down the highway toward Manchester, laughter and chatter filled the air, echoing off the walls of the coach.
Y/n, one of the team's goalkeepers, and Lia Wälti, were the epitome of an old married couple, having been together for three years already. Their relationship was a beacon of stability amidst the chaos of professional football, and their teammates often teased them for their uncanny ability to act as the team moms.
Seated side by side near the front of the bus, y/n and Lia exchanged knowing glances as they surveyed the scene before them. Leah and Alessia were engrossed in a spirited game of cards, while Vic and Beth engaged in a lively, and sometimes heated debate about which current reality TV show was the best. Viv and Lotte were both quietly reading and trying to ignore everybody.
However, it was the current quartet of troublemakers—Kyra, Vic, Katie, and Caitlin—who threatened to disrupt the calm ambiance with their mischievous antics. Y/n and Lia exchanged a knowing look, silently agreeing to keep a watchful eye on the group.
As the journey progressed, y/n and Lia made their rounds, making sure everybody had their snacks and were getting along. They knew the importance of maintaining a positive atmosphere, especially ahead of such a crucial game.
But despite their best efforts, chaos inevitably ensued. Kyra, with her infectious energy decided now was the perfect time to instigate a game of truth or dare that quickly spiraled out of control. Vic, Katie, and Caitlin eagerly joined in, their laughter mingling with the hum of the bus.
Y/n and Lia exchanged exasperated glances after their cuddling session, with a few stolen kisses was interrupted by loud shouts of Katie claiming Kyra cheated on one of her dares which was to kiss the hottest teammate on the bus (she kissed herself on the arm). With a shared nod, y/n and Lia sprang into action, their teamwork seamless as they worked to restore order.
"Alright, alright, enough silliness," Lia announced, her voice firm but laced with affection as she addressed the rowdy group. Lia decided that Kyra would go sit up front by her.
Y/n stepped forward, deciding to kick Caitlin to a different seat claiming that if she couldn't sit next to Lia, Katie wouldn't get to sit next to Caitlin.
On the bus ride back most of their teammates were sleeping, so y/n and Lia finally got some quiet moments together. Lia settled her head on y/n's shoulder as y/n kissed the top of her head and rubbed the back of her hand gently. Lia and y/n loved how chaotic their team was most of the time, but sometimes these quiet moments were just as inviting.

I saw the Sam request post-
I did see the scenes of him from the 2.0(?)update, so I was thinking….how about healing him/fixing his mechanical limbs after he fought with someone? (He kinda fine ngl-)
Also please work your way through fulfilling a lot of inbox requests gradually plEASE-!! *head-pats and support*❤️❤️🫶🏻🫶🏻
OOH so like…mechanic reader x Sam?? That could work…
And also yes I promise I’m working through them to the best of my abilities! I will be closing requests soon so I can focus on my older requests-
Thank you for the patience!
Notes! Spoiler stuff for Sam lore, and I’m just kinda assuming stuff about how Sam’s body works, reader is a little feisty haha, Sam is a violent killing machine, blood
-Sam x mechanic!reader-
He’s very well-engineered of course, he was MADE to fight, it’s what he knows, it’s what he does.
However, regardless of how well-built he is…this robot gets into fights ALL the time, and sometimes his enemies fight back, unsurprisingly.
Granted that doesn’t Usually mean anything, but every once in a while he fights something that can ACTUALLY fight back…enter you, the resident Stellaron Hunter’s personal mechanic.
It’s ANNOYING you SWEAR you JUST fixed him and here he comes limping back again-
sigh…
And on the rare occasions when he actually loses the fight and one of the other Stellaron Hunters brings him home in a box? Even worse…C’MON Sam pull it together…
But of course you’re going to fix him. At the end of the day you love your murderous, psychopathic, genetically engineered warrior-
You pulled an all-nighter because of COURSE he’d get himself broken beyond recognition when he has an early morning mission the next day-
As much as you complain to the other Stellaron Hunters about Sam’s reckless habits All of them know you’re not gonna leave.
Blade doesn’t care at all so he stays out of it, but Kafka and Silver Wolf put you on the spot with the whole, “oh if you hate him so much why don’t you leave?” WELL OBVIOUSLY BECAUSE-!! UM!! SHUT UP WHAT DO YOU KNOW?!
Assuming he’s not broken into a million pieces, he is Ridiculously difficult to fix up.
He’s impatient. He doesn’t want to hold still. And he IS an enormous machine so…if he doesn’t want to sit still it’s HARD to get him to sit still.
You’re chasing after him while he paces around your workshop, trying frantically to make repairs while he moves around and your pleas for him to just STOP for a moment fall on deaf ears-
Regardless of how mad you get at him you do admittedly have a REALLY big soft spot for your robot-
Only you’re allowed to get mad at him or say anything bad about him. You get genuinely upset when anyone else says anything negative about him, haha…
Despite the fact that he acts like such a jerk to you, the two of you have a very strong relationship. You’re Very in-tune with each other. Definitely on the level where you can understand what the other is thinking without them needing to say anything.
You’re always tinkering with and improving his weapons’ systems. He’s an ultimate weapon and you treat him as such. Though like I said before he does not like to sit still so when he’s tired of your fiddling he’ll just…heat himself up until he’s too hot to touch. You give him a little smack with your wrench in protest but if he’s gonna be sassy with you there’s not much you can do.
You really have old married couple energy with the way you always fight with each other but would literally do anything for the other-
Eventually you guys just. Are married. Kafka one day sees the ring on your finger and she KNOWS and she cannot BELIEVE you didn’t tell her you and Sam got married-but tbh you don’t even remember when that happened, haha…crazy how you could’ve forgotten considering the EFFORT you went through to get Sam an indestructible ring, and then having to weld it on.
You know he’s a very capable warrior. But you still worry about him. However he has no interest in you teaching him how to repair himself.
You can’t imagine why he’s so stubborn over something like that but little do you know it’s because he wants a reason to convince you to stay around.
Oh you’re the ONLY one who can do his repairs so you can’t leave, right?
You think it’s a little childish of him because Obviously you don’t have any intent of leaving but…fine. You won’t force him to cooperate with you. You’ve never been able to make him do anything he didn’t want to do before anyways.
You tend to get left behind on missions because frankly they’d be in a lot of trouble if you got too hurt to fix up Sam…but every once in a while the Stellaron Hunters are stretched too thin and you’re sent on a mission. But that usually backfires because Sam does NOT approve of you being on your own doing something DANGEROUS like a mission. He’ll find some way to get onto your assignment, regardless of how capable you are. One moment you think you’re on a stealth mission, the next moment…Sam is there. Sam, who doesn’t know the definition of ‘stealth’. You just kinda have to sit back while Sam completely massacres everything in sight. Well. The enemies certainly can’t catch you if they’re all dead. Granted the mission is technically easier but now you have to hide all the blatant evidence that Sam was there killing everything- (also I’m just assuming you’re completely desensitized to all his violence at this point haha…)
He’s lucky you love him so much…why else would you put up with his nonsense?
Also UGH speaking of maintenance, after a mission like that where he slaughters everything-do you have ANY idea how hard it is to get all that blood off of him?? It’s HARD. You’re scrubbing him clean ALL. DAY. While also telling him he needs to LAY OFF ALL THE MURDER-or at least try to be a little less messy?? Please?? All that blood on him is Not good for him-
But despite all the problems he causes for you, he’s YOUR genetically modified warrior. You LOVE him.
And really he’d do ANYTHING for you.
You’ll keep taking care of him. And he’ll protect you in turn, regardless if you need him to or not.
But you work out well. And honestly ever since you started a relationship with Sam, his work ethic is even better than before so…the Stellaron Hunters are certainly not complaining.
Alright I guess that’s what I have for this one~

so here's the thing...
i've written about this topic a few times during and after season 1, but the carmy and sydney of it all remains a highly contested and discussed topic. even after season two.
what i find so truly fascinating is that chris storer and joanna calo and everyone involved with the creation of this lovely, well constructed show absolutely could have created the duo they work SO hard in the press to convince viewership they intended.
if they really wanted sydney to be a psuedo/standin sibling for the one carmy lost, or the brainy, determined business partner that comes in to orient a sinking ship...
there are a couple hundred ways they could have managed that and made it abundantly clear that's what the angle was within the dynamic between carmy and sydney.
instead... we have all this very overtly (and covertly) romantic, potent and simmering subtext regarding the nature of their relationship and what they mean to one another, their effect on each other and their seemingly endless potential.
in a whole host of ways there are a number of scenes that literally don't make sense without the lens of the undercurrent of feelings or reverence or romance or something that exists between them beyond the intended business partners/co-creatives.
there are ways to narratively parallel sydney as a mirror and equal and peer of carmy's void of all ambiguity and romantic tension and any energy of awkward longing or confusion.
but that's not actually what we got. i've been consuming television media for most of my life. i've watched hundreds of shows; shipping has never been a requirement for my viewership or interest.
which leads me to believe that there's either a bunch of deflection/dismissing happening for a very distinct reason. or there's been a bait and switch planned from the beginning.
you would literally have to remove 75% of the nuance within carmy and sydney's interactions for the stictly platonic claims to make sense and effectively land.
you'd have to go through and remove various staging, shot selection, editing, music choices and sometimes entire scenes to accurately convey original or "intended" messaging.
to completely eradicate the liminal space of subjectivity between them.
why is carmy talking about tina looking like sydney with that distinct expression on his face when they all wear that apron?
why are they being awkward at the lockers like it isn't customary for coworkers and business partners to go out after work for dinner or drinks or whatever (literally evidenced by tina this season)?
why is sydney mentioning jealousy at all when it comes to carmy's relationship? especially when it makes perfect sense for her to be upset with him for not pulling his weight?
why is sydney entering into carmy's life for the first time and deciding to stay, the second time, something that literally brings him out of his panic? when it could have been him cooking, his drawings, his staff, his gf. ANYTHING else.
they effectively made sydney an emotional, mental and energetic tether for him in that scene. for what reason? business partner ones or????
why do they bicker like an old married couple? is that customary for creative collaborators and coworkers?
why superimpose sydney, parallel her doing something the audience saw carmy do last season, and then show her going about her night while he's by contrast, with his girlfriend? why show a random closeup of a meaningful tattoo on her shoulder? no thematic significance beyond the grind of the restaurant world and career ambition?
why is there an obvious awkward breaking of energy after a highly vulnerable and tender moment between the two of them under the table? why does sydney noticeably fidget/adjust herself/her apron when he walks away to get her gift?
there's actually a hundred instances of these questions you could ask over the course of the two seasons when it comes to them.
so the reasoning behind the shipper pushback is baffling and a bit laughable.
some people bring into question, perhaps this is just the natural chemistry that jaw and ayo bring to their characters bc they're obviously good friends.
which... sure. i guess. but even that begs the question, you wrote and shot and constructed a story a specific way and then your two actors sort of bled on and expanded the material in a very obvious way you didn't expect?
cool, cool. so again... you're surprised that could lead to viewership seeing something deeper than mere platonic business partners?
that's shocking and surprising to you?
no way.
especially considering storer and calo have commented on how close jaw and ayo are and that their dynamic is different than the one she has with ebon and lionel. which is hilarious bc she adores ebon and has been out of the country traveling with lionel (and some other people from odd future.)
so clearly they all enjoy each other, are friends and get along.
but why even make that note of demarcation regarding jaw and ayo's dynamic and STILL be like "oh yeah, we didn't write or mean for them to be a romance " you're shocked that people SEE something given your storytelling and their obvious connection that even you, the creators themselves remarked on?!?!
there's a picture from the golden globes of ayo holding jaw's mom's hands during his acceptance speech. like they're really besties.
but i'm sorry, they can't bestie themselves into what carmy and sydney clearly exemplify on our screens without an entire framework at their disposal. because they're talented and professionals.
so if the writing is saying something, then it's intentional.
maybe the intention was to have their characters skirt and skate on the periphery of each other.
maybe it was for things to be awkward and weird and undefined or hectic and toxic.
maybe they weren't ever gonna have some relegated idea of a shipper's happily ever after.
people have feelings that go unexpressed and undefined. people fall in love and then don't end up together.
maybe the slow burn fizzles out, maybe it explodes or implodes, maybe one of them self denies, maybe they both do.
maybe it will or won’t be addressed directly or covertly. that's actually not a requirement for its existence.
to act like there isn't something true and obvious and visceral that exists between these characters is frankly like asking those who watch your show not to use their eyes and their brains.
impossible.

Birth of the Beatles rewatch
I’m now motivated to rewatch birth of the Beatles since it’s been awhile (6 months) here’s my thoughts:
What I remember liking about this movie is it starts with the Beatles in their leather looks right away and just the image of them walking around like this in their “cool uniforms” is so funny to me and you can see why Paul was like “people would make fun of us” lmao.
I think the likenesses in this movie is actually not that bad especially George and Paul but the man playing John is just clearly too old (although I don’t think he does a bad job). Also is this the only movie that actually shows Paul being an absolute nuisance and insane lad??? The energy is off the charts (which is true to life)
Tumblr media
They’re kinda cute idk
John calling Paul a beauty right away mmhmm you know that’s right.
Tumblr media
It’s leopold and loeb themselves! The nerk twins! I like how much they attack people together and George is a good back up. It’s amazing how Beatles movies cannot get this dynamic at all right. But Paul being so supportive of Stu… lmao…
Tumblr media
John and Paul goofing off together in the background you know that’s right. I like to hear johns silly little giggle
George always calling Paul “paulie”… so cute
Timeline gets real messed up in the middle bit. They skip over the paris trip of course 😔… imagine someone actually showing Paul and Johns trip like… revolutionary it would be
Enter Brian!
Tumblr media
They really said Yah these boys were hot!
I like how they make such a big deal about trying to convey Brian is a GAY man and then the very next scene
Paul and John just out here looking like a married couple
Tumblr media
Damn John where you putting that hand!
Damn these bitches really laugh in your face!!! (When you know in reality they were bowing saying oh yes pls mr Epstein)
Paul getting scared of a red light and Brian being like stop being a DIVA Paul. But omg these ungrateful little bitches being like you’re a failure Brian! Shut up Brian! Smh. At least they throw in a scene of John being super nice. There’s lots of scenes of John being really nice.
When John and Cynthia kissed after hearing they got the record deal I seriously thought Paul was gonna lean in and smooch George. The Paul actor gives off big I’ll shag anyone energy which is once again very rare!
Kinda appropriate the movie ends with John getting depressed out of nowhere lol… also very rare to have a message of no Beatle is better than the other

Obitine Headcanons no one asked for
Satine has straight hair. Like...chronically straight hair. Won't hold a curl to save her life, but can sometimes appear to be wavy when taken out of a tight updo. She lives for those moments.
Korkie wasn't conceived on the Year on the Run. (it takes a bit of canon manipulation but what else is fanfic for?) Instead, he was conceived shortly after Qui-Gon passed sometime during the early grieving process for Obi-Wan before he jumped head into the waters of training Anakin. (fic is currently IN PROGRESS because I have a lot of emotions tied up to this headcanon of mine hehehe)
Obi-Wan didn't tell Satine that he was still alive post Rako arch, she found out through the holonet because DRAMA *tears*
They absolutely had to pretend to be married at SOME point in time during their Year on the Run, because I NEED that and they would be RADIATING newlywed energy (or old married couple energy lolololol)
Satine never mentioned Bo to Obi-Wan because she was 100% under the impression that her sister was dead before he came into the scene.
Obi-Wan doodles his name as the Duke of Mandalore when he gets lonely and daydreamish (which rarely occurs once Anakin enters the scene lol)
Obi-Wan 100% made many visits to Mandalore inbetween him rekindling his "friendship" with Satine and Ahsoka's Korkie arch. I mean Korkie even says that off-world weapons were banned after the last time he visited...somebody write THAT visit lololol
Obi-Wan and Korkie have met...and Satine was torn between chewing her fingernails off in worry and banging her head against the wall for how oblivious the two are for not even seeing a very obvious likeness between themselves.
Windu ships them. It's one of the very few things Anakin and him can set aside their differences for to gossip about.

Happy Weekend all :) First off sorry I forgot to thank everyone last ep. My Chris rage was immense so it knocked me off kilter haha So thank you all for reading ❤️ We’ve hit another fav on my list. The dance alone makes this episode amazing. It’s also the things leading up to it that are also great. This definitely has the why aren’t you together moment? Excited to cover their iconic dance. Let’s get going.
4x18 Backstabbers
Tumblr media Tumblr media
We begin with Tim telling Lucy they're not riding together. That she's with Nolan and he's with Aaron today. I love Lucy’s little nose scrunch. Clearly not happy she has to ride with someone else for her shift. Riding with Nolan wasn’t on her list of things she wanted to do today and it shows. I can't get over her dislike of being separated from him for the day. I do love her sassy reply though. Can’t let him know not riding with him bums her out.
Also we all know he would rather be riding with her as well. But you know neither of them can admit as such. Because god forbid we do that eh? So they bury their feelings in their banter per usual. Definitely got that old married couple energy going on here. The sassy eyebrow pump she does is so cute. Tim is gonna miss her we all know it haha We also get that Tall/Smol shot I love so much as well. Always happy to get one of those.
Tumblr media
They pass Webb on their way to the kit room. He tells Tim what a good job he did on the Stewart case. Lucy is smiling then putting things together. Saying isn’t she the one who solved it? The one who made the connection? Also that she got punched in the face while arresting him...
Tim cutely says ‘You’re jealous.’ Clearly amused by this reaction of her's. Then goes on a classic Tim rant. Asking if that’s why she does this job? For high fives from Webb? We all know that’s not what she’s asking for here Timothy. Lucy tells him it would be nice to have some recognition. It is part of the reason she took being his side. Amongst other reasons….
Tumblr media Tumblr media
He then does what he thinks she wants and it backfires. Pretty badly. This isn’t what she meant by recognition. I do love him winking at her while he’s explaining it to Webb. Saying how he couldn’t have solved it without her. All it does it make Tim look even better. Because Webb just continues to praise Tim. He can't possibly think that's what she wanted LOL Now it looks like he is being selfless and sharing credit.
Lucy’s reaction is hilarious when he asks her if she feels better? Cleary not Timothy... She is still pissed because this is after the fact. She wanted the recognition when the case happened. Not after when Tim’s name was already the arresting officer. It's not the same thing. Oh my love you aren’t getting what’s she’s throwing down right now ha Her body language and facial expression expressing her discontent with him.
Tumblr media
Aaron joins them and makes the worst decision he could. Kissing Tim’s ass. Idk why he would think this was a good idea. Especially after riding with the female version of Tim LOL Tim is straight forward with Aaron. Tells him to not kiss ass and set up the shop. He turns to Lucy looking for advice. Wisdom of any kind. She is the Tim dictionary after all. No one better to go to about this man.
Unfortunately she is too caught up in own thing to dispense anything helpful. Just goes off on a rant about credit. How he shouldn't let Tim just steal it from him. Poor Aaron is like 'uhhh but I’m a rookie…so that is not helpful at all' ha I love her pout and restlessness as the scene ends. Lucy is so salty and needs to vent. Aaron is not your guy for that sadly.
Tumblr media
We catch up to Lucy full on ranting to Nolan about Tim. Telling him it’s not even about the recognition. I mean…it kinda is ha She continues on saying how every single case file has Tim’s name on it. How she’s the one filing all the reports for it. She asks Nolan how she’s supposed to take on more responsibility if no one knows what she’s capable of? Nolan being the dope he is tries to get factual on her. *sigh* John this is why you are just friends LOL You clueless dope.
Asking her 'Wasn’t riding with Tim her idea?' Lucy says yes cause he takes on all the high profile cases. Which is huge for her. Nolan adds in that she is seeing a down side to that now? She nods and he continues to put his foot in his mouth cause Nolan. Saying she should just get reassigned then. Tim would understand. (I don’t know he would...) Also that's not what she wants at all. She was upset they weren't riding for one day together. So there's no way she's walking away from being his aide.
Nolan is being such a man right now. Trying to solve her problems when she just wants to vent. To hear ‘yeah that sucks .’ Or ‘Tim should give you credit’ I love her calling him out on it. Like listen John you are here to listen not problem solve haha Luckily he does as such and repeats back that Tim is the "worst" (I mean he’s not she just stupid frustrated with her work hubby ha). Lucy’s cute little smile after he does is adorable. Like good boy Nolan. ha
Tumblr media
We flit back to Tim and Aaron. He tells Tim he’s ready for any test he wants to throw his way. Tim says that’s why he’s not going to. That Harper is a great T.O. (Look how far we’ve come since s2. My heart.) He’s been on the job long enough he doesn't need them. He lets Aaron know today isn’t about if he will make it. It’s about what kind of officer he will become when he does.
Aaron asks Tim how they’re gonna find that out? Tim says by figuring out his superpower. He starts to list everyone’s. He’s spot on for Harper and of course for his girl. I mean her empathy is one of her biggest strengths. She is very good at adapting to any situation. I mean her biggest adaption was Tim at first. Hehe It is her superpower no doubt.
He then says Nolan talks a lot LMAO Aaron isn’t disagreeing….I love Tim’s answer to his follow up question. That if he doesn’t have one he’ll be Smitty Haha Aaron looking nervous and feeling like this is still a Tim test somehow…I mean it is. Just a character based one. Which is pretty damn important to Tim Bradford. So...you should be nervous. lol
Tumblr media
This next portion for Tim and Aaron is hilarious. They’re called to a guy magnet fishing. He tells them he found something strange. It’s a sword. Aaron mentions a murder that involved decapitation recently. Tim tells the man they’ll need to take it. He looks bummed but says at least he can get money on something else.
Aaron panics and levels Tim. Knocks him to the ground immediately. Poor Tim and his back issues. I have those now it hurts to watch him tackle him to the ground like that. Tim makes a crack saying 'Clearly being able to identify fake grenades is not his super power.' LOL Aaron makes a face and we see Tim’s back covered in goose crap hahaha Oh Aaron is bombing left and right.
Tumblr media
They're back in the shop and Tim is eating his potential super powers for breakfast. Kudos to Aaron for suggesting more and more though. Except Tim is destroying every single of one of them…It’s so funny to watch. I mean it’s not funny for poor Aaron LOL Just more proof no challenges him like Lucy. Truly no one can match what she brings to their dynamic. You know Tim feels it when she’s absent. So he is just mowing down Aaron in the process haha poor guy. I do love Aaron though. He’s such a goober and it shows through out the rest of this season and into the next. He was a great addition to the cast.
Tumblr media
Tim and Aaron respond to domestic call. This man just got paroled and wants to see his son. His ex is fighting him saying he can't be anywhere near them. Tim takes the man's ID to run him and Aaron asks to talk to the man. He does a good job calming him down with his own experience. Tells him I’m sure he’s dreamt of this moment for years.
He’s also sure this wasn’t how he expected it to go down. That he needs to remember it’s been years for them. They've been living their lives while he was gone. So they might not be ready but someday they might. Gives him his card and the number for James if he needs it. They can help him get back on his feet when he's ready for it. Tim walks up and tells him good job. Finally got one right. Yay Aaron.
Tumblr media
Tim walks up to Aaron at the wedding reception to discuss his super power. Wanting to make sure he knows what it is. He's been searching for their entire time together. Tim tells him that it’s experience with being incarcerated. Clearly he has a connection to those that have been in prison. That empathy and compassion is what he can build his career on. Gah I love when he’s in teaching mode. Fine af. *fans self* Teach away sexy. This scene ends with funny bit about the park moment haha I enjoyed them together a lot.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
This next moment is an all time fav of mine. Tim surprising Lucy not once but twice with his actions. First off by bringing up that dance he 'owes' her from 3x14. You know Tim kinda made the first move with her more than once before they were together. 3x14 being one and this being another. He’s the one to bring the dance back up. A dance I’m sure she never expected him to bring back up. We all know he wanted to dance with her and this was his sly way of doing that. So he uses the guise of saying it's still owed to her.
Tim ‘I don’t do weddings’ Bradford wants to dance with his girl. This is his way of getting that but still being himself about it. Acting like he has to do this. When I’m sure that dance has been on his mind on and off since that moment happened. We see right through you Timothy but it's ok hehe The absolute sass from Lucy is on par for her. Always toe to toe with him. She too is excited he’s cashing this in. You can tell she is happy he remembered this dance. A debt was owed hehe Tim making a face but you know he loves it. She is his equal in so many ways but especially for banter. Tells him like it is and he keeps coming back for more.
Tumblr media
Ahhh these two idiots in love. Looks at this man when she takes his hand. That is his full blown Lucy smile. That 'I’m a goner for this woman and would do anything for her.' smile. She is the only one who brings that out in him. He’s so love with her at this point you’d have to be blind not to see it. He lights up when she takes his hand and makes a classic Lucy expression at him. You could power a city with that smile of his. The way they walk onto the dance floor you'd think they were each others date to this party.
Harper’s daughter earlier said she liked her mom with James. Noting that ‘You’re happy when you’re around him.’ These two are never happier than when they are around each other. Their true self’s come out and they are radiating joy. Look at those two above. They are carefree and light as a feather in this moment. Projecting heart eyes as far as the eye can see. You’re never gonna see them be this way with their current SO’s. They don’t bring out the best in them. Anyone around them can see they’re gone for one another. Except them….
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Tim is heart eyes galore for his girl from the minute they hit the dance floor. Lucy is flying pretty high herself. Look at the way she is looking at him in that first gif. Transparent as ever at hiding her feelings for him. Tim starts off with the thing he knows is bugging her. He didn’t spend the day with her but he knows her. Knows it ate at her all day long. He also knows it's something he needs to rectify.
Lucy has simmered down at this point about it. It’s evident in her reply to him. Tim forges forward anyways. I do want to note the eye contact between these two. It never breaks as they speak to each other. It's so intimate. I love him gesticulating his fingers around her hand. Re-wrapping them around hers as he explains himself. It's a cute fidgety thing he does while trying to get what he needs to say out. It's the little things I love so much .
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
He starts out STRONG complimenting her. Not only complimenting her but saying she is in the top 5 he’s ever trained.(Psst. She was the best one.) No better praise she could receive in this moment than that. Lucy being Lucy has to make a joke. She craves his praise but also can’t handle it at the same time. I feel that girl I’m the same way. Tim is looking down at her with massive heart eyes might I add. Saying he wants her to have a successful career.
He wants to support her career the way she’s always supported his. No hesitation and putting her first. Look at the way she is beaming up at him when he says this. The way she's searching his face as he speaks. Gah how do these two not know they’re in love? Honestly. She looks so enamored with him as he’s talking. Their smiles and heart eyes are so loud. They’re screaming how they feel to the entire party.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Tim shocks her even further with his next set of comments. Lucy is already on cloud 9 as is. He’s asked her to dance, he’s complimented her in the best way and said he wants her career to be successful. She is in serious shock when he tells her he’s listing her on all future reports as the arresting officer. Lucy is in awe of this man right now. Not only for doing this but for how he’s grown. As a person and as a sergeant.
For him to step aside like this and give her the glory. To put her career ahead of his so she can succeed. The way she says ‘But you’re senior officer.’ Reminds me of her in 5x12 being in the same amount of disbelief replying ‘But that’s a desk job….’ Lucy can’t believe what he’s giving her and putting aside. He finishes it off with his version of I love you at this point. Saying she deserves to be recognized. What he's also saying is she deserves to be recognized by him. He's so damn soft in the delivery of his words. His body language also as relaxed as we've ever seen it.
The way he looks at her while he says this. Be still my heart. Screaming his feelings in this moment without realizing. Showing Lucy he hears her and has done something about it. That he cares, wants her to be a success, and that he’s putting her first just like she always has done for him. Lucy is sassy in her retort because she can be. (Ain’t no one else talking to this man the way she does) She is looking up at him with the same amount of affection he's shooting her way. Telling him 'You’re right I do. Thank you.' haha Look at her. She’s saying I love you right back in this moment. *sigh* These two.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Everything about this moment makes me squee. The non stop romantic looks they’re throwing each others way. The way they’re gazing into each other eyes the entire time. Forgetting everyone else there and the fact that they can see this love fest. Then comes the cutest most carefree part. Look at the smiles on these two! They’re so gone for each other at this point. I imagine this would be similar to how they’ll dance at Nolan’s wedding. With a little more closeness and kisses ha
Seriously though. Have we ever seen Tim this happy and relaxed? Only when he’s with her. It’s oozing out of him in S4. The laughing, the smiles, Lucy complimenting his moves. That glorious smile of his when she does. Be more in love you two. If someone just saw these gifs no context. They’d think they were a couple in love having the time of their lives on the dance floor. It’s hard to believe they were dating other people at this point. I mean look at this scene. They look so damn happy together. Truly just enjoying one another’s company.
Lucy is beaming with happiness when he spins her around. How he leans into her as he spins her around. Her laughter as she leans into him after he does. My heart is gonna implode from the cuteness everyone haha There’s a reason it’s one of my all time fav moments. It’s so sweet Imma get diabetic. Such a good episode I cannot. One of my favs of the season. For this moment alone right here. *sigh* I love them. Moments like this I knew were cementing them for s5. Slow burn at its finest.

Gorillaz With A Motherly SO (And Random Songs That Make Me Think Of Them)
Tumblr media
Noodle-
She is a sort of care taker herself so when she met you, she felt understood.
You two spend so much time together that falling in love was bound to happen.
Old Married couple energy but Cool Old Married Couple
Loves your cooking and will not be shy about letting you know.
You and her are always clung to each other.
LOVES when you do her hair.
She loves you so much and feels like she’ll always be taken care of and in turn, will take care of you. Even when you are a actual old couple.
Russel-
Kind of man to take knitting lessons with you. (He did)
Loves being doted on and doting on you.
Dream couple.
He is the cook and you’re the cleaner.
The only time Russel sings is when it’s in the kitchen with you while you’re doing dishes and he’s finishing dinner
You kiss his cheek as a sort of thank you.
Ace (I struggled here)-
Is surprised when you and him started dating.
Legit was that “I don’t know, I never thought I’d get this far.” Plankton meme (Heheh cause he’s green too, get it?)
You take care of him after he runs from his vandalism scenes, scraped knees, scratches on his arms and such.
Will sometimes take you for granted but the second you leave, he starts calling for you. (Poor boy)
2D-
Thinks he is the luckiest man on earth (and he is. Know your worth)
You make him a peppermint tea before he wakes up.
You just sit beside him and fiddle with his hair til he wakes up
He is pretty much your shadow. Always directly behind or beside you.
Is your number one helper.
Pretty much your husband (on all levels except legal)
Writes you little love songs and will melt if you sing them with him
You’re his muse and he’s your artist.
Murdoc-
Was avoidant about your disposition at the start but he warmed up to you after a many quiet car rides from when you came to pick his drunk self up.
He makes your coffee because he is not a morning person but by the time he gets done clanging around the Winnebagos kitchenette, you’re up.
You and him take the romance movie cliche tub bath while drinking wine. (He was down to bump uglies but he got distracted making bubble beards with you. His was the best, he doesn’t care what you say)
Will immediately think he’s fucked up if you use his actual name
You and him have the same vibe as that retiree couple on vacay
Despite your differences, you and him are the best match for each other.

Had a dream I was watching season 3 of Rottmnt, it was so vivid and now I’m sad that it isn’t real. So I’m writing some highlights from the dream before I forget.
Draxum and Casey focused episodes on what they were doing during the movie. There were really cool action sequences with original music and everything. It was so cool. There was one scene where the screen divided in half to show both battles.
Music during action scenes. There was a lot of it. I suspect it might have been because I watching Moon Girl and Devil Dinosaur before going to sleep tho.
An episode premise: April finally had a good stable job. She was going steady for a whole 2 weeks setting a new record. The turtles got a little suspicious since April can never keep a job for long. Cue investigation, it turns out the job is a front. A front for a cult. April accidentally joined a cult. By the end of the episode April accidentally destroyed the cult in the same way she usually ends up losing her jobs. Alas the curse of April losing her job was too strong.
Another Episode Premise: Splinter and Draxum go undercover for an intel mission at a fancy club. The cover story being that they’re two friends who are trying to reconnect. They’re kinda bad at it since both argue like a married couple. This actually works in their favor tho as the person they’re trying to spy on to get info on is a huge romantic who is super invested in trying to get the two to “reconnect”. Both are forced by the turtles to play along for the sake of the mission. By the end of the episode Draxum and Splinter have performed a proposal, a wedding, a divorce, another re proposal, alongside with a remarriage, but not another divorce because they have to book it away because the turtles got captured. Which meant by the end of the episode Draxum and Splinter were still married.
Over Arching Story: Bishop was hunting down the remaining Foot Clan members. Which included trying to find former Foot Clan members for any information. Of course leading Bishop to Casey. Casey sends him on a wild goose chase as she goes on her own mission to find her former bosses. Being the B plot for a lot of the episodes. In one instance she teams up with Piebald in a gambling ring to win some info.
Running Gag: Casey Jr tries going into the dating world but has trouble since most people who are his age now, were adults during the apocalypse. So if he does find someone to date who he doesn’t recognize they usually end up being some form of “not real”. Highlight examples being: an alien who assumed a human persona to lure specimen to experiment on their ship, a demon with similar motives to the alien except it wanted to eat Casey Jr’s soul, an ai made by Bishop made to find potential Foot Clan members. What was funny was how obvious a lot of them were, like the alien wore a “I believe” shirt but with sharpie added “don’t”, changing it to “I don’t believe” (real master of disguise right here). The demon’s “flirting” was something along the lines of “if souls were edible and had taste, I bet yours would be a delicious meal that would amplify my demonic powers. If I had demonic powers, which I don’t because I’m a perfectly normal human. But in the hypothetical where I do-”. The ai when asked it’s favorite hobby responded with “breathing and being human”.
Bishop had an entire episode where he beat up different clans in his attempt to find the Foot Clan. Making some leave their old clans to join Bishop since he bested them in battle. But Bishop didn’t want a bunch of ninja (idk why not, that sounds incredibly useful) so he sent them on a wild goose chase but every time he did they came back having accomplished the goal. (Again I don’t understand why he kept acting like they were an annoyance when they were getting him things like THE GOD DAMN ELIXER OF EVERLASTING LIFE)
That’s all I have the energy to write. If I remember anything worth adding I will but I think these were all the highlights.

‘how could they have *lost* your booking?!’ ‘shut up we’re lucky we at least got the last room’ AND THERE WAS ONLY ONE BAD AHAHAHA holy shit the show ships them as much as we do 💀
Oh noooo not the broadchurch bedsharing scene…. I have so many thoughts about it. Because it’s decidedly not a shipping scene…. An anti shipping scene, even. The show doesn’t want us to ship hardy and miller and the hotel bedsharing is supposed to demonstrate how lacking in desire for each other they are. Joke’s on them because come on!!! It’s SO tense. If you don’t want shippers, A) don’t write so many tropey scenes, B) don’t write at all. Fandom’s gonna fandom.
The broadchurch bedsharing scene serves two big functions at that point in the narrative.
One, it’s supposed to hilariously contrast with the hot and steamy sex lee and claire are having in that very same moment. Which uhhhhh is an interesting choice of parallel if you don’t want ppl to ship them loooool
Two, it’s supposed to remind us how much miller and hardy, as opposed to soooo many female/male detective shows, are not a potential couple at all. But here’s the thing. David tennant has chemistry with all his costars. And the scene is written soooooooo shippable???
First of all. They have such old married couple energy already. Miller tells hardy off for offering to sleep in the car, since he has a heart condition (a HEART condition. Don’t read into it though ;;))))) ) and like the subby non-husband he is, he gives up trying to fight it immediately.
They do the whole i’ll be on top of the sheets you’ll be under them dance. Which makes it MORE awkward than if they just slept together like adults. Then miller tries to lighten the mood with a half joke about how it’s a “bit weird”, to absolute CRICKETS from hardy. Then she decides the best thing to do is ask him again if he’d slept with his suspect????? After which he tells her grumpily to go to sleep, turns around and dreamily remembers the suspect lying down next to him??????????? Which is an insane choice of the show tbh knowing the actual context. And the fact that hardy always refuses to answer this question to test miller’s faith in him and his morals….. come on. Come onnnnn!!!! Oh how easily this scene could be read as two severely emotionally constipated characters unwilling to relax just one muscle for fear of the p immediately landing in the v.

Note
five reasons why you ship gendrya?
1. they complement each other.
arya and gendry have a lot of qualities in common, but many of their most prominent traits are complementary. arya is sociable and friendly. gendry is more reserved and standoffish. arya is audacious and focused on the big picture. gendry is cautious and detailed orientated. arya is becoming skilled at concealment, but gendry is transparent. the combination of traits is what makes them such a good team. its not just personality, though. i’ve always felt that arya/gendry are a great example of an ice and fire pairing in asoiaf. arya is water/the north/the old gods/quick/lady/trueborn/sword and gendry is fire/the south/r’hllor/strong/lowborn/bastard/shield. honestly, they’re just a good match. gendry is strong and brave and loyal he’s the perfect partner for arya. he’s every bit as stubborn as her too so arya cant just railroad him into doing what she wants.
2. similar experiences
before they even meet they have scenes with ned who notes their resemblance to lyanna and robert respectively, but more importantly he tries to take their treasured items and a/g are totally defiant. later, they both flee kings landing together as they’re pursued by the same enemy which set them apart from the very beginning. “only gendry was different” arya recognizes this and trusts him bc of it. nearly every experience after the fact? they share: the battles, the starvation, the imprisonment, the trauma of the war. they went through all of that together. they played mom and dad to their little band of war orphans. which i think creates a level of understanding that few others could truly relate to. this theme continues even after they’re separated too. they're seeking justice, but their trauma and grief lead them both to religious cults that are dark, teaching them to kill regardless of guilt as per their boss who is the embodiment of death. gendry’s is a vengeful zombie (who also happens to be arya’s mother) and arya's the many faced god. they are BOTH serving death. this is genuinely one of my fave things about them as a ship.
3. “but gendry came back” + “i don’t care what you say, i’m going back for him”
when everyone left arya and that baby behind gendry went back for them. he tries to get arya to go thru the tunnel before he does. when they run from harrenhal gendry is the one who convinces arya to stop and sleep. he lets her eat before him at the inn of the kneeling man too. he protects her and her identity. “she’s not alone. do like she says and leave us be” arya does the same for him. she shares her rabbit leg with gendry. she went after him when he was captured by the mountain’s men. she wanted him to go home with her to meet her mother and “stay” she frequently reflects on gendry’s counsel and how it was wise even if she couldnt see it in the moment. “and Arya knew he was right.” theres mutual respect and care.
4. the playful vibe
as a pair they really do bring a youthful, fresh, energy to the story. acorn hall does 98% of the heavy lifting to lighten up what is otherwise a very dark book. theres also not a lot of friendship based ships in asoiaf. i actually cannot think of even one other example in the main series. which makes them a unique dynamic in this universe. and their scenes are just fun! like even when they’re fighting. everything from “then pull your cock out and take a piss” to “would m’lady permit????” and “you stupid stupid stupid STUPID” and “not the fucking moss again” (paraphrased) plus they hit a lot of tropes i personally enjoy. uptown girl, lady and knight, unresolved romantic tension, battle couple, like an old married couple, eating the eye candy, childhood friend to lovers, ect.
5: “she was much the same at winterfell”
harwin says this to arya when gendry is being scolded and i love it so much. its about how a/g in relation to arya's identity. because with gendry arya can embrace her true self. she doesn’t have to be on guard. she doesn’t have to put on an act for survival. when everyone else sees arry or weasel or nan gendry knows the truth. she’s just “arya” when he asks her to go to the smithy to have a look. arya finally gets a chance to just play again. gendry is one of the few people she can truly be herself with and in an arc thats defined by identity that in itself is so significant.  and then theres: “those soft little things?” gendry has seen arya’s hands covered in the blood of her enemies, LITERALLY, and he still thinks they’re soft and little. one of arya’s greatest fears is that she won’t be wanted because she doesnt meet an arbitrary femininity standard and on account of the things she’s done to survive. but gendry has seen arya in rags, shaved head, eating worms, slitting throats, and thought “she’s the one” lol
bonus: the potential
arya/gendry already has a great foundation going into the last two books. they're hardly an eleventh hour ship. but theres still so much to explore at the same time. they’ve grown up a lot. i wanna see what their dynamic looks like with the romantic subtext turned up a bit. theres a lot of foreshadowing suggesting their relationship will continue to be important. ive made this comparison before and i know its corny but they really are just this little acorn of potential that could grow into a tree so strong it can weather any storm.

Okay I'm finally sitting down to properly watch the PJO series so here's an episode-by-episode live blog I guess. (Fair warning, I haven't read the books since I was a teenager, I am a smidge of an apologist for the films, and my favorite adaptation so far has been the musical.)
Episode One:
All of the actors are doing a really good job, I especially like Sally.
The costume design for both the monsters and the humans is pretty killer. I want Percy's sweater.
I also love the little seaside cabin and want to live there!!!
This is such a mild gripe BUT as someone with dyslexia I wish there was a better way to visually depict it without like, doing the swapping letters thing cuz that's just not what it's actually like at all.
Gabe maybe feels a little too funny. Like I'm supposed to hate him and think it's justified that he deserves to be turned into stone at the end, this version of him is really.....toned down, and his banter with Percy and Sally was fun to watch. I should hate him, but really he just came across as unpleasant. Less abusive asshole and more "old married couple who share interests but can't communicate without shouting" you know?
Loved Grover's little "I'm 24 actually" lmao that was great.
Not a fan of Percy immediately recognizing the Minotaur within a millisecond of it appearing before the audience even got a good look at it. Like, I just sat there thinking "how can he even see it?" rather than feeling scared of a big monster barreling at them.
The action is uh....fine? Feels a little lackluster. Or kinda....divorced from the rest of the show weirdly?? Idk it makes me feel like I'm watching a movie of a movie if that makes sense?? But we'll see where they go with it. (I know banter during a fight isn't realistic and people make fun of Marvel for it, but like...it helps to have at least a little talking. We don't wanna be Man of Steel.)
I feel like there's been a few "slightly out of sync ADR" moments but they weren't too distracting.
Pacing into Sally saying goodbye felt a little long, kinda took the shock of her dying out of the scene, but the actress REALLY sold all the emotional beats so I'll forgive it.
I LOVE the credits sequence!!! Reminds me of the designs on that one box set of the books in a really cool way.
Episode Two:
Oh yes the ugly ass neon orange shirts are here bless!
FUCK YES THAT'S DIONYSUS BAYBEEE!! My ONLY note is that he def could have turned up the energy a little, but that's probably just bcs I love how loud and unpleasant he is in the musical and I also know how unhinged this actor can be.
Chiron is such a delight <3
I like the cabins too, way better than how I imagined them as a kid reading the books lol
Oh, I can see why the new fans fell for Luke so hard.
Grover assuming a human being squished would be like an old banana is very funny. Felt very book-humor in a good way.
Clarisse!!
Oh damn actual disabled half-bloods, very cool!
Minor but I can't actually tell what Percy did wrong with the bow? Weird editing I guess.
Aside from that I actually love a good "fuck up" montage, I honestly wish it were a little longer.
Probably doesn't matter but I don't get having them burn the food after they've started eating? I thought that was a before you sit down type thing.
Percy burning the blue candy to try to talk to his mom was sweet tho T_T
"real friends" hahahaha.....yeah.......about Luke.......
yay! hazing!
Oh I love Annabeth already >:D
Thalia.....is pronounced differently than I thought....?
(I'm sorry I'm too much of a fan of 'Tree on the Hill' for this exposition dump. That shit hits harder when coming from Grover.)
Percy giving Annabeth the "actually I suck and my self esteem is riding on this so like pls don't ask me to do anything hard T_T" talk is just, so good lmao
ofc he doesn't know what's going on Annabeth you didn't tell him anything
Okay the action is a lot better when it's between the actual characters and doesn't involve a 3D monster, though I still had trouble following all the hits Percy was taking.
Oooh I can see why people did so much art of Percy being claimed that was a good shot.
FUCK YEAH TELL HIM YOU'RE SALLY JACKSON'S SON
(I hope they kept the Oracle in the attic...)
Okay I have to go do some things and then I'll be back for more!

Best Fictional Characters to date (not ranked)
1. Percy Jackson: a man who would jump into Tartarus just to be with me ... GOD YES, 12-year-old me is screaming right now. Plus do not forget the golden retriever energy Percy has around Annabeth.
Tumblr media
2. Gilbert Blythe: Imagine getting rejected by your crush of 10 years in the late 1800s when asking her hand for marriage. Most men of that time would perhaps yell at the woman, or threaten to force her hand in marriage. But not our Gilbert Blythe. This man took the rejection well and constantly supported Anne's hopes and dreams while loving her from the sidelines and never telling her so, till she told him that she loved him first. And she did she loved him to death. (slight spoiler: they have seven children together)
Tumblr media
3. Nick Nelson: Never judged Charlie for his sexual orientation, protected him from his bullies, never mistreated him, always stayed beside him no matter what the situation (webtoon readers will know what I mean), and was just the perfect fucking boyfriend overall. Ps: the beach scene.
Tumblr media
4. King George the 3rd: OK, I might be a bit biased, but cmon have you seen this absolute perfection of a human being. He ALLOWED himself to be tortured just so he could be with the woman he loves. Was the kindest and sweetest person who allowed his BRIDE the option of not getting married if she did not want to... RIGHT BEFORE THE FUCKING WEDDING!!!!! (I did not add the under-bed scene below because I did not want anyone to cry... you are welcome. )
Tumblr media
5. Prince Wilhelm: THE COMMUNICATION BETWEEN THE COUPLE OH MY GOD!!!! I FUCKING LOVED EVERY SECOND OF IT! Not only was this guy the absolute fucking green flag, but he was so deeply in love with Simon that he was ready to give up the fucking crown for him!! And the way he cared and loved Simon, even though he was unsure of his sexuality was amazing. Most tv shows would just immediately portray the character as homophobic but, Young Royals has done an amazing job at portraying the teenage mindset, especially when it comes to sexuality.
Tumblr media
"NEVER SETTLE FOR LESS EVERYONE"
PS: This was just my opinion, I am sure everyone feels differently

What do you reckon the apartment scene is 7x05? Romantic sunset lighting, Eddie's hand on his shoulder/pulse, teary-eyed... Playfully scolding Buck...
So many ideas and so much delusion I wanna scream
I think once we see this episode we’d be better able to get a feel for what it’d be, like a lot of people have theorised that the jealous storyline and buddie conflict carries over to next episode but I honestly don’t see that happening bc the show likes to wrap things up in a neat bow most of the time by the end of the episode
I think whatever it is is DEFINITELY gonna be one of those scenes we will have 16728383 gifs over and will be iconic as the kitchen scene or the will scene
Like a few ideas (ranging in delusion) are:
1. Something connected to bucks self discovery (bi buck era maybe?)
2. Buck feeling unstable in his place in everyone’s lives but particularly Eddie’s life with Marisol in the picture (hopefully Eddie will then reveal that he broke up with Marisol- what who said that 🤭🤭) and Eddie then offers reassurance
3. Kinda the same but different:
Good old wedding bell blues (yes this was a Gilmore girls reference inside a song reference - what can I say I’m just a girl😔) like I could totally see buck being like my sister is getting married, hen and Karen have a new baby, bathena are bathena and I’m single again and in the same place
And then ofc eddie reassures him (and gives him a big kiss and confesses his love- omg who said that damn my cat ran across my keyboard again😔- )
Also if you wanna know the energy I want if this is what that scene is then - if you got my Gilmore girls reference I assume you’d get what I mean if I said that scene where loralie says she’s mimi now and starts ranting about how she has a good life and good friends and a good job but she think she’s never gonna have it, that thing, that couple life and she wants it so bad and Luke is like you’ll have it and she’s like you don’t know that he’s like you’ll have it and she’s like but HOW do you know and he’s like I just know (yes I mention me wanting something like this scene REGULARLY but shut up that scene altered my brain chemistry)
4. BUDDIE CANON BUDDIE CANON BUDDIE CANON BUDDIE CANON BUDDIE CANON BUDDIE CANON

“Toss it, Seaweed Brain” oh so Annabeth you want me dead?
“When did you turn into an old married couple?” Luke clocking Percabeth, speak on it Luke!
“You were like two seconds ahead of me…” yes ok once again giving the married couple energy thank u!!

Percy opening up to Annabeth about his dreams🤧
“There are things I don’t know” — Percy is like … well if you don’t know we’re fucked. Lmaoooo. I can’t I love my son🤣
Percabeth yet again giving married couple energy while talking to Hermes … yeah! And let’s speak on it!!!
“Do you know what that feels like? To be so close to someone you love, knowing neither of you has any choice but to keep hurting each other?” — obvs Hermes was talking about how Percy feels about Sally but damn foreshadowing with Percabeth too for reals 😳
Ok pitpocket Annie!!!! 👏🏻
“Who’s Grover?” PERCY THAT HURT !!!
Percabeth giving mom and dad energy to Grover when they found him I am dead lmao
“Are we late because of me?” 🤧 it’s ok pookie bear you didn’t know!!!!
Hermes note … ok so maybe he’s trying to help… slay…?
“I killed a Minotaur on my first try, right? How hard could this be?” Oh no… baby that’s not…
No bc why would Annabeth let Percy drive though fr cmon now😭😭
When Percy thought he was home free and looked over at Annabeth and then scratched the whole ass right side I was sobbing lmao😭
When Grover remembered them🥹 ah my precious babies
“We weren’t alone. It’s easy to forget what’s important when you’re alone” so true Annie so let’s stop splitting up for my own mental health ok!!!
Ok I’m not gonna lie the whole underwater scene threw me off bc what do you mean the solstice passed and they’re “released from the quest” this is bonkers ? And 4 pearls right off the bat…. Interesting!!!!! I’m hooked!!!
Overall I really enjoyed the episode and I like the changes they made, they keep it fresh and interesting as a book reader but still true to the story! (And I loved Lin as Hermes lol he killed it!!!)
I can’t wait for next weeks episode!!!!! Ahh

I've been thinking about "Giving Sanctuary" and by extension how I view Dream and Hob as fathers to adult children who have died, and kind of wanted to articulate how I view them in that light, because there's a very specific kind of fatherhood I envision for both of them and it's not the same.
Think of this as sort of a "Behind the Scenes" DVD commentary for "Giving Sanctuary" :)
Dream as a father - so with Dream, I see his marriage to Calliope and his fathering of Orpheus as something he did while he was young.
Now, canonically speaking, Dream is billions of years old and 3,000 years ago is hardly younger within that span if we take that at face value. But if we don't, and we take it more that maybe Dream's maturity is more closely tied to humanity's sophistication, as the lord of their dreams, then bear with me for a second and imagine that in terms of maturity, Dream is roughly in his early 20s when he marries Calliope. (This is also slightly inspired by Tom Sturridge having become a father in his early 20s and my sense he brought some of that to his performance of Dream.)
There's a very specific energy that comes with Dream and Calliope getting married out of a certain "young love" that's technically adult but maybe not fully grown or wise yet. The kind of young love that could absolutely be destroyed by losing a child together. Years later, when Dream rescues Calliope, they feel like a couple now in their 30s who still feel fondness for one another but have understandably remained apart ever since. They're different people now, people who were fundamentally changed by the loss, and the people they are now don't necessarily have an interest in getting back together, even if they can *remember* their old happiness together.
Likewise, to me, Dream feels like someone who lost a child when he was young, perhaps so young that most people of his age (speaking in human terms) have never even had a child much less lost one. He has no peers to share the grief with. Certainly none of the other Endless have families and those that have children, like Desire, don't seem to view them parentally or affectionately, they're just pawns.
So even within his own family, Dream is unique in having had and lost a child that he cared about. He doesn't have anyone to really relate to about it and I personally headcanon that the Dream we know, the dour figure that is weary of life, whom Death is trying desperately to rekindle before he self-destructs from his own depression, came into being with the loss of Orpheus. As an adult, Dream has been shaped by a loss that happened in his early adulthood. It has given him maturity but not necessarily wisdom, rather it has left him bitter, distant, and brittle because he never properly healed from that loss or came to terms with it.
Hob as a father - in contrast, Hob feels like someone who became a father relatively late in life, and after a great deal of planning. He waited until he was well-established, rich, with a knighthood, and able to shower all his life's accumulated achievements on a child that was very carefully planned.
Then, despite doing everything right, he lost that child anyway. His son was an early adult, Hob was at the time of Robyn's death, mentally, I'd argue, a middle-aged man, and it shattered him. He "didn't go out much after that" and it sounds like, if you do the math, he didn't go out much for roughly 20 years. There is a very specific grief one hears about with parents who lose adult children, especially at an age where they don't expect to have any other children, a lifetime spent together, putting your hopes in them. Hob clearly loved Robyn, who was his only son with his by then deceased wife, leaving Hob utterly alone after having such high hopes. Parents you hear about who went through this are destroyed and never really recover emotionally. I could go into some specific examples but first of all, they're all just gut-wrenching, and second I don't want to make light of those losses, but suffice to say those accounts are informing how I write Hob.
Hob and Dream relating to one another as fathers of deceased, adult sons - Now going back into the fic a bit, there is that energy of two men of roughly the same mental (if not literal) age, one of who lost a child as a young man, one almost too young to have a family at that point (again, according to my perception, not the literal numbers) and how he relates to Hob who more recently lost an adult son while more mature himself, having waited a long time to have one.
I think on some level, Hob pities Dream all the more for perceiving that this loss hit Dream while he was almost too young to have fully enjoyed a life himself. Certainly this loss has poisoned Dream for a much longer period than Hob has been poisoned by his own. The bitterness is so entrenched in Dream by now that he almost wishes he *could* erase the memory of his family, because he's lost so much of himself to mourning them, whereas Hob still would not trade their memory because being more mature when he lost them gave him a certain relative resilience and wisdom about the world, he can cherish the memory and mourn them without wishing the pain would just go away.
Hob is also, by extension, in a slightly better place to advise Dream through his grief, even though he's technically younger, because unlike Dream, Hob always knew he'd lose them but Dream very reasonably approached Calliope and having a child with Calliope from the belief that he would never lose them both (it's arguable if he thought Orpheus would be a god or demi-god and thus immortal too but let's say for the sake of argument that he did expect Orpheus to be immortal too). He was even more blindsided by the loss that never should have happened, whereas Hob was blindsided by a loss that happened sooner than he expected.
Dream feels his mistake towards Hob was not warning Hob in advance that to have a wife and child would mean losing them, given the gift of immortality was limited. He has no advice for Hob because the entire exercise around giving Hob immortality was Dream proving the point that no one could suffer through what he has gone through, or survive eternity, without wanting to die. He is, especially within the fic, looking for confirmation of his own worldview that life is unbearable through putting Hob through the same experience. He can try to help Hob by assisting him materially and being there for him as a friend, but Dream is also learning how to do that, how to be an adult, mature partner, as he does so.
Whereas for Hob, looking out for someone else is something he has done as a mature man. He misses being a husband and father. Having Dream to look out for isn't something he has to learn how to do, it's something he has always felt more natural doing and he's restored to a stronger sense of self by having the chance to do so again.
Anyway, that's it, just a little behind the scenes DVD extra for Giving Sanctuary :)

From Wonderland Magazine
"I was cast before Taylor and Matthew Lopez, our director, and Amazon really put me through the wringer, as I had to do a bunch of chemistry reads with a few different guys. Again it was all about finding commonality. Taylor came in and smashed it, he's so funny and charismatic and willing to play. He's become such a good mate of mine and we had such a fun time filming this movie."
From Entertainment Weekly
What wasn't hard? Finding chemistry with Perez. "We have the same sense of humor," says Galitzine. "We're both idiots in some way. We speak the same language as people. It was a different chemistry. Finding the levity and the light in each other, finding a sense of play in the scenes. Because you want them to have that banter that back and forth, that zippy dialogue."
From Glamour
“They were a dream come true,” López says of working with Zakhar Perez and Galitzine. “Taylor and Nick have an astonishing chemistry together. You could see it from their first audition together. They genuinely liked and trusted each other from the start. And individually they each take these characters and make them their own. I cannot imagine any other actor playing these roles, and I haven’t from the moment I first met them.”
“Nick and I hit it off right away,” says Zakhar Perez. "We had our chemistry read on Zoom, and then we went straight into rehearsals on day one. We didn't even have a lunch or a, ‘Hi, nice to meet you.’ We just had to trust each other.” Adds Galitzine, “Taylor and I have this level of insincerity with each other. We have this public [banter] with each other, but privately we're really, really close mates. That's kind of Alex and Henry in a lot of ways, negging each other and pushing each other's buttons. Taylor and I spoke the same language, had the same humor. You need to have a partner in crime to embody these roles, and I think it's so palpable when costars don't have the chemistry [that we do.]”
From People
About how he and Galitzine, 28, built the chemistry fans will see onscreen, Perez says, "It all comes down to trust with your scene partner, and we immediately had it. There had to be a level of vulnerability between us, and we quickly found our way into it." "We were lucky to have rehearsals and many meals together before we began our first day of filming," he adds. "We both knew we had a lot on our shoulders, given the success of the book, and that was a big motivation for us to be locked in at all times."
From GQ
When auditioning for their roles, Galitzine read with other prospective Alexes, never quite finding a rhythm. But when they met over Zoom for a chemistry read, it was instant fireworks. Director Matthew López noticed their spooky chemistry right away. When the actors first got together in person to rehearse, López recalls leaving them alone. “I came back about 10 minutes later and they were the best of friends already,” he says. “It was like they had known each other all their lives.” On and off set, the pair would bond by turning every little thing into a low-stakes contest: competing over silly minutiae like who’s really taller (“Alex is supposed to be shorter in the book, and then this little shit comes in at six foot two!” Galitzine says) or who could finish their scene in the fewest takes.
Up close and in person they are waves of chaotic energy bouncing off each other. (“It is kinda like water when we’re together,” Zakhar Perez says.) They tease each other relentlessly. They push each other. They finish each other’s sentences and bicker like an old married couple. Wind them up and off they go. “I don’t like Nick,” Zakhar Perez jokes. “But I respect him.” “Mine’s the other way!” Galitzine counters. “I don’t respect your game, but I do like you very much.”
From Out Smart Magazine
Looking back fondly, he jokes, “I didn’t have to manufacture chemistry between Nick and Taylor. My biggest problem on set was getting them to shut up and do the scene.”
From What to Watch
"We knew that we would not have a movie until we had our — I was about to say “until we had our Taylor and Nick”! — until we had our Alex and Henry. In all honesty, I don’t know if we would have ended up making the movie if we felt like we were compromising on the casting, because you get that wrong and you just don’t have a film. So it took months of searching, particularly for Alex, because I wasn’t at all certain who was going to be out there for this role, and as a Puerto Rican filmmaker I was acutely aware of the opportunity to cast this role in a way that was gonna sort of bring a new name and a new face to the public. To my delight there were a lot of young Latin men out there who auditioned for the role and it was so exciting to go through all their tapes. [The leads] both emerged singularly, and then the big trick was to see if they would work together as a couple." "I knew that both Taylor and Nick were perfectly cast as their roles, but what I wasn’t sure of until I put them in a chemistry read was ‘would they play well together?’ The nightmare scenario for me was finding two perfect actors for the role who did not gel at all together — so the degree to which this could have gone wrong for me, with the casting, was just stratospheric, and the fact that it went so well in terms of finding the right people for the roles who were also just the right people for each other was a lucky break that came at the end of a very long process! [laughs]" "And I didn’t have to teach them that! They possessed that from the beginning. I mean, we worked hard on their performances together but what was innate from the moment they first met was they got each other, and they got along so well together, and they played so incredibly well together."
From Hindustan Times
A dream! I love those two so much. You are lucky if you get one of them working at that level, and to get both of them working at such a high level, and so astonishingly well together is just a great, great hit of luck. The thing is that they are both so perfectly cast individually but the most important thing is that we cast two people who worked well together as a team. The moment from which they first met on Zoom, they had such tremendous chemistry. We rehearsed several weeks before we started filming and then over the course of rehearsals and then the film, there became a real shorthand between them. They trusted them and I was able to then, in many instances, direct them less as individuals and direct them as a team. They worked as a team and that is exactly what you need from a film like this. I genuinely cannot imagine this film with two other actors in it. In many ways, they made this film possible for me to make. The evidence of that is on-screen every time they are together even when they are not together, it is there.
From The Queer Review
"I really wanted Taylor and Nick to have a good solid chunk of time together, working together and understanding one another, coming to trust one another and figuring out how they each work. It was less about rehearsing like you would for a play and more about acclimatizing. I guess you could liken it to getting new goldfish and putting them in a plastic bag and then putting them in the water before you let them out into the general goldfish population!” “I needed those two to problem-solve together. I needed those two to have lunches together and talk about their nights when they saw each other in the morning. I needed a familiarity that I didn’t want to leave to chance on the first day on set when everybody’s a little tight, everybody’s a little nervous, nobody knows each other and everybody’s figuring each other out. You had a filmmaker who’d never done this before and the last thing I wanted was for Taylor and Nick to start to get to know each other then because I think that would have been too late.”
From Attitude
Responding to these criticisms López told Attitude exclusively: “Anybody who criticises their chemistry doesn’t know what chemistry is.” He continued by praising Galitzine and Zakhar Perez as “trusting” and “respectful” of one another and their approaches to acting. “They gave room to each other to breathe and grow. I don’t think you can make a movie like this with two actors who don’t trust each other. You might be able to, but I don’t know if it would work. Those two from the very beginning made a decision to trust each other and to support each other.” Away from the serious side of acting, López also told Attitude that they all had fun on set. Occasionally, he explained, he had to be the one to calm the fun so they could shoot. “But those two are wonderful human beings,” López also added. “And I loved working with them. And I know that they took their jobs incredibly seriously. But, we made sure that we never took ourselves too seriously.”
From TV & Satellite Week
López was acutely aware that the key to the film’s success would be in casting lead actors with credible chemistry, and he was delighted that Zakhar Perez and Galitzine sparked together instantly. ‘The nightmare scenario for me was finding two perfect actors who did not gel at all,’ says López. ‘But what was innate from the moment Taylor and Nick first met was that they played so incredibly well together.’ The two leads were equally keen to make their characters’ relationship evolve believably.
From CineMagna
Nick: It's been such a joy working with Taylor, and I really couldn't have imagined anyone better suited to play Alex. I think the most important thing in casting Alex was to find someone who could really go tête-à-tête with me and with Henry. This film is a two-hander and it's all about the chemistry and the banter that you could have between the two of them. Taylor, he's such a fun, loving person, such a joy to be around, and so much of the filming process for me is about finding an acting partner who just loves being here as much as I do. I can't say enough good things about him.
Taylor: Working with Nick has been excellent, we've gone through a lot. You know, we got here a couple weeks early for rehearsals. It's a very intimate movie so we had to become close very fast and kind of trust each other right away, and we did. It wasn't hard, it was really just committing to the text and trusting our director Matthew. And it's just, it's great working with him because I think we have a really good banter on and off screen which helps our characters when we are acting together. But I mean, we get in a lot of trouble, like we really do. We get yelled at by our first AD, Ben a lot, and Matthew tells us to calm down. Just because as soon as you're out of a scene, you're like, critiquing each other, critiquing yourself, and I think we're each other's biggest supports in the room. We both care so much, I know he cares, I know I care, and we just want to make the best product possible.
From The Fresno Bee
That chemistry sparked when the two met via Zoom for a script reading. “It took a long time to find them, but it was very obvious that they were our guys.”
