i dont think i made this clear in the prev post but WHAT I WAS GETTING AT WAS i think toby specifically wants players to get attached to ralsei and make choices playing into that so that the inevitable reveal of our distinction from kris and their own opinions and feelings and everything hits even harder by sort of slapping you in the face and being like HEY BUDDY. THEY DONT WANT THIS. and also a slap in the face to ralsei too who i again would like to say is parasocial asf with us and needs to go to video game therapy
#some of the ways he makes us like ralsei is just by having him look rlly cute and act super nice and stuff obviously#but i think him looking like asriel could play into that too#theyres definitely a deeper significance to his resemblance to asriel but in addition to whatever that ends up being#since ur supposed to play deltarune after having played undertale... having ralsei look like a character who most ppl remember very#positively (as well as in the context of deltarune being kris/''''''our''''''' nice older brother#im not saying that *IS* why a lot of ppl take a liking to him im just saying that i wonder if that was something toby specifically had in#mind. idk. but i do think he intentionally wanted us to really like ralsei#and now in chp 2 hes intentionally made ppl start to be suspicious of him#where is this going? no idea! but toby is definitely considering how the player currently views ralsei i think#i mean thats just common sense. considering what your audience is (probably/''should be'') currently thinking and using that as a guide to#what you show them next. if you have any sort of mystery element to ur story then u should always be thinking about ''how much does the#audience currently know about whats going on based on what clues ive given them so far? how much information can be gleaned from this? how#much do i ideally want a viewer/player/reader/whatever to know at this point in the story?''#and i think with ALL his characters and story beats and secrets#toby is very precise about how much he shows his hand#esp after undertale lol. hes definitely always very considerate of how much theorists and coders and stuff will be able to piece together#from what he gives us#at least i assume so LOL#he SEEMS to be very good at it#serena.txt

Common Modifiers In Medical Billing
Tumblr media
Do you realize that using incorrect modifiers in medical billing can get you in trouble? Worse, if you used the incorrect modifier and the insurance company paid you for the service associated with the modifier. Claiming the wrong modifiers can be a severe mistake. A provider must understand the significance of modifiers in medical billing, how to use them, and when to adjust reimbursements or maximize payments to avoid claim denials.
What Is A Modifier In Medical Billing?
Modifiers are essential in adjusting medical codes for numerous medical instances. They are employed when a physician chooses to execute a procedure uniquely without altering the definition of the process. It may also provide additional information about services conducted more than once or services that have happened unusually. The doctor must document the requirement for the procedure to receive compensation for services based on the code for medical procedures. As a result, the physician must add a modifier to the current medical code to represent the procedure transition.
Modifiers are used in medical billing for various reasons. Some important reasons are as follows:
Claims are approved promptly, with no revenue gaps caused by denials, resubmissions, or follow-ups.
Some claims require a higher level of code precision to be submitted correctly.
The proper application of a modifier can reduce a medical practitioner’s claim denial rate.
The correct modifier application can result in a higher reimbursement rate from the insurance company.
HCPCS And CPT Codes In Medical Billing
Cpt Modifier
CPT modifiers are two-digit numeric codes. The CPT modifier is used to provide extra information on medical processes, such as the reason for the process, the location of the process, a modification in the procedure, and the total number of doctors conducting the procedure. This data is described to the insurance payer in the format ‘CPT code-modifier.’
HCPCS Modifier
HCPCS modifier comprises two characters; a letter and a digit. HCPCS modifiers are organized alphabetically by coding category. The HCPCS modifier provides more information on products used for non-physician services. This data is described to the insurance payer in the ‘HCPCS code modifier template.
Commonly Used Modifiers In Medical Billing
GQ – The GQ modifier is applied to services provided via an asynchronous telecommunication system. It is the system in which a doctor assembles a patient’s medical history, pathology reports, and images and submits them to a senior healthcare professional for review on diagnosis and treatment options.
Modifier 95 or GT-When all evaluation treatments and diagnoses are to be coded via telemedicine, 95 or GT can be used. This modifier can only be used when the treatment and medications are delivered via a telecommunication system, either by phone or video conferencing. Modifier GT is linked with modifier 95 only when directed by the insurance payer.
G0 – Modifier G0 is used to code for telehealth services provided to detect or treat the signs of an acute stroke.
Modifier 24 – Modifier 24 is added to an unrelated evaluation or management (Unrelated E/M) service provided during the post-operative period of significant surgeries done within 90 days by the same health care professional. This modifier cannot be used to bill for processes.
Modifier 25 – It is added to all E/M services performed on the same day as another significant surgery by the same doctor. It is commonly used in pediatrics.
Modifier 26 – When a service has both professional and technical elements, modifier 26 is used for billing the professional component. The physicians’ notes on the scans are considered the professional component, while the machinery used is regarded as the technical component.
Modifier 27 – This modifier can be used for several purposes. That includes when the patient is offered numerous evaluation and management services from the same or distinct surgeons and when the patient uses clinical services, pharmacy, and primary care on the same day.
Modifier 51- Modifier 51 is used for billing numerous procedures and services offered to the patient by the same provider but in a separate procedural setting or surgical session.
Modifier 59- This modifier indicates different procedural services distinct from the rest of the non-evaluation and management services performed on the same day.
Modifier 76- Modifier 76 reports a repetitive procedure done within the same day by the same doctor related to the original procedure.
Few Examples Of HCPCS Modifiers
AA- Anesthesiologists provide anesthesia services.
AD- Medical supervision by a healthcare professional for more than four simultaneous anesthesia procedures.
AH-Clinical Psychologist (CP) Services.
AJ- Clinical Social Worker (CSW).
GW- Service unrelated to the hospice patient’s terminal condition.
GY- Statutorily excluded item or service that does not fulfill the requirements of any Medicare benefit.
GZ- Item or service expected to be denied as unnecessary or unacceptable.
QN- Ambulance service has been given directly by a service provider.
If the modifiers are not applied properly or transferred correctly for payers, they are likely to be denied. By using the appropriate modifiers, billers and coders must avoid related problems and minimize claim denials. Our team of billers has been trained and understands the use of modifiers. We conduct an activity to determine the reasons for each claim denial and check the claims denied for coding issues for further investigation. That implies that few claims are denied due to the incorrect use of modifiers. We ensure that our customers benefit from lower denial rates, enhanced collections, and faster cash flow.

The Amazing Digital World
🍀•~ MASTERPOST ~•🍀
Tumblr media
•~The beggining~•
In an attempt to do a little experiment. Developers wanted to test Ai's ability to evolve.
They started to create a very basic virtual world. Coding some realms, some biomes, some communities, some special locations, and different types of enemies and villagers. A combination between Minecraft and Stardew Valley.
Caine was like the coder's will inside this world, they coded him to create everything the developers demanded. Once the basics were finished, he had the task to look for errors, bugs, and anything that could harm the proper function of the world, as well as create whatever the creators demanded him to.
The game and its NPCs were specifically coded to be able to evolve. They wanted to see how far the NPCS free will could go, how much they could do. They wanted this virtual reality to feel as real.
This would take a while tho.
The developers had big hopes in this auto-sustained world. But it didn't work as fast as they thought. They left it aside for a while, and the company kept selling with normality. Some eventually forgot about it, but the small world they once created had evolved into a full fleshed out universe.
Entire families of each type of NPCs had formed, a functional economy, and different cultures arose. More importantly, the NPCs had reached the level knowing they lived in a digital world, but they also knew this was where they were supposed to be.
They lived their lives like a regular human being. Everyone expects one particular AI..who unfortunately was never meant to evolve as the others. An AI that till this day, keeps waiting for the coders to give meaning to his existence.
~• The Realms •~
Note: illustrations might be done in the future
The Main Grounds 🎪👣
Human-like creatures made of rubber inhabit what one was the starting point of everything. Most human-like inhabitants are clown themed, wearing colorful combinations and displaying extremely pale skins with iconic make up. Most houses now look like circus tents.
As the starting point of everything, Humanoid Clowns are usually skilled on all kinds of areas, nowadays though they are mostly recognized by their sharp communication abilities.
Feeding habits: Regular Foods and Water
Pomni and Kaufmo inhabit this realm
Woodland Kingdom 🌲🪵
Wood made toys inhabit this prosperous Nation. Although wooden puppets and dolls can be found, the biggest demographic group this realm are Chess-like inhabitants.
Chess pieces do not reproduce, but spawn from flowers instead. Each type of piece spawn on its own recurrence, pawns are the most common, Queens and Kings are the most rare. Every 20 years, the new Queen and King must replace the formers.
Trees on Woodland are abundant since most of this realm is forest surrounded. They provide wood for construction to other realms and are knowledgeable on the matter. Woodland has the widest insect population.
Feeding habits: Wood and Tree Sap
Kinger and Queenie inhabit this realm
The Great Cartoon Plains 🌽🚜
Probably the biggest biome and realm of all. Here cartoonish anthropomorphic animals made out of rubber inhabit the plains. Great weather, excellent soil, and wide terrains, The Great Plains is the hostess of the biggest agricultural production that feeds most realms.
Most families that inhabit this place farm and mine for a living. They provide the raw materials that sustain the rest of the world. They have great resistance and their ATP (Energy) lasts the longest.
Feeding habits: Regular Foods and Water.
Jax inhabits this realm
Raggedy Village 🧸🧵🪡
A village with a welcoming vibe, Raggedy Village is probably one of the safest and calmest realms. Rag dolls, plushies, fabric puppets inhabit this place in big teapot looking houses. They are usually very kind and willing to teach.
Raggedy villagers excel at the refining of cotton and fibers, as well as the art of sewing and designing everything from carpets and curtains to clothes, hair bowties and shoes. Raggedy village is the biggest exporter of clothes and fabric.
Feeding habits: Gossypium and Sweet Tea
Ragatha inhabits this realm
Puzzle City 🧩🎲
Tall, noisy and at times confusing, Puzzle City occupies this place on the list. Wacky and colorful, Puzzle City owns the most abstract and ingenious buildings and transport mechanisms. Their citizens are not any different.
Often called "The Geometrics" citizens of the city are plastic and are usually composed of geometric shapes that can be rearranged. Geometrics are especially good at architectural engineering and design, and are by nature bright in color and personality...with a few exceptions..
Feeding habits: No food is needed for survival
Zooble and Orbsman inhabit this realm
Stone Temples 🎭🎨
Special for being home of NPCS originally designed to be provoked enemies. The Stone temples are clean, polished, resistant and often, artsy. They display beautiful designs and paintings, and with reason.
Often called the porcelains, the inhabitants of this complex are artistic and emotional souls, and excel in every form of art, from painting, sculpting, dancing, music, and theater. Most porcelains have a distinctive physiology: Mask faces with light ribbon bodies.
Feeding habits: Minerals and Gossypium
Gangle inhabits this realm
Candy Island 🍭🍮
The most distant territory, Candy Island feels like a fever dream without a set time period. The name says it all, an island of the size of Australia where everything is made out of every type of candy imagined, including their people.
Lolli citizens, cake fellas, and gummy lads are just a few examples, they are often highly energetic and sweet. Most desserts found in any other realm most likely came from Candy Island.
Feeding habits: Regular desserts and raw sugar
Loolilalu, Gummigoo, Max and Chad inhabit this realm
The Amazing Digital Academia 🪄🔮
A wide academia with a fundamental purpose: Sustain the world they all live in. With the original coders absent, Caine is allowed to grant certain skills to NPCS that seem responsible and acknowledging about the matter
What we might know as coding, for them is magic. Being able to manipulate reality and spawn new creations, new textures, flavors, physics, biomes, was necessary for the expansion of this little world.
Here, students learn everything they need to know in order to maintain and expand this beautiful world. Alongside coding, characters study whatever discipline they want to master.
All characters previously mentioned attend as students and teachers
Uniform Variations:
Tumblr media
~• Families and Births •~
Each type of NPC presents a different type of reproduction. No genitalia is present on any of them, but just like in the sims, the game recognizes the baby making process and starts the NPC's corresponding process to spawn a new baby. Different types of NPCS can result in interesting combinations and character designs
❤️ SPECIAL THANKS TO @notnights for helping me with ideas and figuring out a lot of stuff ❤️

Your lips must be super glued to the boot if you're really out here applauding Elon Musk for trying to lay of 75% of Twitter's fucking staff.
I've been seeing those Twitter conservatives celebrating it like every Twitter coder makes 300k a year and does nothing all day. Smugly laughing at the loss of telework options and insisting Elon is just cutting the fat and people SHOULD be required to work 84 hours a week because thats what "factory workers" like them do.
They're so gleefully subservient to billionaires it's frankly pathetic. They hate seeing the reduction of suffering anywhere because it "invalidates" their suffering.
Right now the same kind of people were mocking a trans Starbucks worker who was tearfully complaining about 8 hour work days.
Insisting they work 12 hour shifts or whatever.
Bro everyone's tolerance for certain jobs is different. Having to deal with customers vs operating a forklift and mindlessly carrying around boxes.
Some people could do one and not the other, or both with limited time frames.
It is so fucking stupid.
Stop pretending that you're Elon Musk. Stop roleplaying as him and pretending that you're getting some kind of revenge on white collar workers because he's firing a bunch of them.
He'd fucking lay you off and shoot you in the back for trying to unionize too if he had the chance.
People who work will never be like fucking billionaires. We have more in common with each other than we ever will with the apartheid emerald baby.

Thinking about Book 1, I've always loved that Tulip isn't the generic "first protagonist" that she so easily could've become. She's a total nerd. She's a genius coder. She's an introvert. She's angry almost all the time. She has family troubles. She's reckless and stubborn and sometimes irrational. She's so empathetic that she's willing to forgive someone who tried to hurt her (TWICE if you count Lake), a quality not common in this world. Her best friend is a weird ball guy.
And this uniqueness that Tulip has also helps Lake's characterization in Book 2. It would've been so easy to make Tulip the generic mildly heroic protagonist and then make Lake the edgy one who's not afraid of breaking the rules.
BUT THEY'RE BOTH EDGY. THEY BOTH BREAK THE RULES.
Which means you notice more subtle things about Lake's characterization. Differences from Tulip that might've otherwise been missed. They love nature. They don't forgive and forget people who try to hurt them. They're a huge numbskull. They've got BIG emotions and cry easily. They want to roam and live and EXPERIENCE. Their first idea when running into a problem is to run or punch it. They're an extrovert. They think that weird ball guy kinda sucks, actually.

okay so sadie kane’s first response to the rosetta stone is “isn’t that a computer programme.”
turns out it’s this language learning thing, but this isn’t common knowledge, and it raises 2 possibilities:
multi-lingual sadie, who knows what it’s like to be isolated. to be different. who decided to learn different languages to communicate with those who don’t speak a lot of english. if she can make them feel a little less pushed out, then it’s worth it.
or we have coder sadie, who spends her lunch breaks hiding in the computer room, analysing codes. hyper-fixated on her latest project. who hates the cards she’s been dealt, and is in love with the way she can create a world of her own.
one run by her own rules.
one that is fair.

Okay, so, question I've had for a while but never got around to asking, what the FUCK is up with Grian's wings?
If all physical differences in players (like those particularly ascribed to 'Hybrids' in mcyt fanon) in Hunger AU are a result of conscious altering of your own code for the express purpose of achieving YOUR IDEAL BODY(tm) then what does that mean for Grian and his wings? No one seems to regard Grian's wings as "What The Fuck, You Can DO That?!?" so presumably wings aren't so big of a change from normal biology that players can't do that. If so, why is it not more common? Man, if I could have wings I'd jump on that in seconds. Especially with the sheer utility the ability to fucking FLY gives players. Are wings (and maybe other larger alterations) just like, REALLY HARD to code in? If so, that might add a really cool layer of "Oh wow! They must be a really good coder!" to players who meet people like that.
On a related note, Grian seems to have a positive regard for his wings, which is interesting because I would be willing to bet he didn't have that before *insert sounds of worm-bursting and non-consensual body modification*. I imagine seeing his wings would likely feel like a reminder of the Watchers and what they did to him. BUT, Watchers manipulate their own code when they change like Grian did to, y'know, not be a worm anymore so Grian probably specifically chose how he looked, right? So, unless he did so really rushed and somehow made a mistake while doing so (which he might not be able to risk the structural damage of correcting), keeping the wings was a conscious decision. Does Grian just not associate his wings with the Watchers or is it something else? Does he just really enjoy having wings?
HELLO I AM SO GLAD YOU'VE ASKED THIS BECAUSE I HAVE ‼️‼️‼️‼️ MANY THOUGHTS ABOUT IT ‼️‼️‼️‼️‼️‼️‼️
Okay okay so these are all SUCH valid questions, lemme go through them one by one. Wings are indeed something anyone could have if they wanted to code them in-- and in fact, i do believe many other Players have wings throughout the universe!!! As far as body mods go, i like to think of them as decently popular, so its definitely not anything too weird to see. In chapter 5, i even make a mention to Pearl having moth wings she occasionally codes in due to preference!!! So wings of many different types are definitely available-- but the catch is that they're real fiddly to code. You cant just give yourself wings, you have to code in the bone structure, the muscles, the tendons, etc etc, and then you have to change your entire body structure as well to work with and fully support them. They can be awkward and unwieldy, as ive tried to show in the fic itself, and i think that alone can be a big discouragement for Players considering coding in wings, along with the sheer coding effort needed to obtain them and make them functional
And the thing is, elytra already exist-- they're far more compact, they dont take up as much space, you can take them on and off super easily without having to mess with your coding, and they basically do the same thing. Sure, its a pain to get one, but a lot of Players really enjoy the sense of accomplishment, and i think theres a bit of cultural prestige too in that regard. Server milestones are a huge thing in Player culture, and getting your first pair of elytra is a big one!!! So it makes sense to me that people who just dont want to go through the effort of coding in wings (which can then in turn complicate how they code other future modifications) primarily stick to elytra.
And everybody is different-- some people prefer attributes that arent wings. I like to think everyone in hermitcraft generally is a mix of "jeez thats effort, i could be building my base instead of doing that" and "eh im fine how i am, i like it" and "well we have elytra shops everywhere so why bother".
So in short, yeah!! Wings are a bit complex to code in. They're still pretty popular, i think plenty of Players do choose to incorporate them, but it takes a lot of hard and thorough work to make sure they function right and wont bug you out when you use them. There are billions of Players scattered across the universe, so what you're seeing in the fic right now is truly just a drop in the ocean when it comes to Player body diversity :] and then, elytra basically already help Players achieve a form of flight without the hassle of recoding their entire body structure, so i think the majority of Players just prefer to use them instead.
AS FOR GRIAN'S WINGS IN PARTICULAR......
Well..... its complicated. Particularly his feelings about them-- in the fic, i referenced them as the only good thing the Watchers ever gave him, and thats how he sees it, i think: a thin silver lining. He's had many, many years to get used to them, and i think he goes through periods where he hates them and the memories attached, too. Ultimately, he's kinda stuck with them, so i think he hit a form of acceptance (as bitter-tinged as it may be) out of sheer necessity for his own sanity.
As for why he has them, and hasnt coded them out: i think of it as a particular quirk of biology/structural coding. Watchers have a more instinctive way of coding than Players, but a Player-minded Watcher is still going to think like a Player, and thats going to muddle things a lot. Grian essentially had to relearn how to code, in a way that satisfied both Player and Watcher-style coding, and the results at first were.... a little rough around the edges. Once he managed to finally take on his original former appearance, the wings from his true form just kind of.... stuck. I like to think it took a few increasingly desperate tries before he realized he just could not figure out how to get rid of them (bc of how different his new code was), and had to accept that this was just how he was gonna have to live for a while until he finally figured it out. And then, well.... you can get used to anything, if you're stuck with it long enough. I think after a while it just stopped being a huge priority, and then he reached a point where it would be more awkward to live without them than with them, and he eventually dropped the idea altogether. And i think sometimes, they function almost like a scar, to him-- a reminder of what he went through, yes, but a reminder that he did manage to escape. And, ofc, he also just really, really likes flying skdjskdjdj
So yeah, loads of complicated feelings there about his wings, and its stuff i do plan on exploring later in the fic!!! This got a little rambly, but i hope this makes sense and answers your questions!!!! :D its a fun little complicated knot that im glad someone has gotten curious enough to ask about!!!!

A few months ago, I bought a $60 toaster on Amazon that just would not heat up enough to toast bread. I wanted my money back. But repackaging the toaster and dropping it off at a post office seemed like too much of a hassle. So I did something slightly nefarious: I logged on to Amazon, opened the customer-service chat window, and told the outsourced worker on the other end that my toaster had never arrived. The agent apologized, asked zero follow-up questions, and immediately refunded me $60. I had committed a common, low-grade version of a type of fraud that has proliferated in recent years as massive online retailers flood the world with packages and offer customers frictionless returns. Often referred to simply as refunding, it involves finding ways to get money back for products people have not actually returned. A lot of refunding is perpetrated by sophisticated cybercriminals who trick retailers and shipping companies at scale, obtaining high-value products in bulk and reselling them online to customers who want watches, computers, or other expensive items for cheap. According to a December 2023 report from the National Retail Federation, retailers lost $101 billion from return fraud last year. Refunding first emerged alongside the early-2010s explosion in online retail and typically involved simple methods like buying items and claiming they never arrived (like my toaster). But as companies caught on, tactics evolved. In 2019, a fraudster who went by Bob published Bob’s Refunding eBook, which collected a number of methods that had been circulating on hacker forums and other underworld sites. (Nowadays, such tips circulate mostly on Telegram, the anonymous chat app on which much contemporary fraud is coordinated. The community is crass, like 4chan refitted for the zoomer mind: Refunding chat rooms with thousands of members host a flood of racist memes, slurs, cat GIFs, and extreme porn mixed in with advice on fraud methods.) Bob is credited in fraud circles with popularizing FTID — Fake Tracking ID, wherein the scammer returns an empty box to a retailer but edits the shipping label provided by the company to an address that is slightly different from the warehouse where returns are meant to go. The package gets scanned by, say, UPS when it’s picked up, allowing the customer to claim a refund, but it will never arrive at its destination.

hi there. i like ripping games limb from limb. here's some hc3 finds
ive had these for awhile but i might as well post them for anyone who doesnt. for clarification, alot of the game assets have already been ripped and are available on the wiki and such. but i got into the project file itself!
Tumblr media
this is the inner workings of the aetherworks logo at the start. and boyyy does it hurt me! doing frame by frame in rpgmaker is a hell i wouldn't wish on my worst enemy. they handle the static during the execution hour segments the same way.
Tumblr media
me fucking with charles' intro dialogue to see if i could. did you know the font for hello charlotte is called Coder's Crux? you also need it for anything to display properly. luckily, it comes with the game! but it does not come with the decrypted project files.
Tumblr media
here's what that looks like. courtesy of delchar.
Tumblr media
another dialogue edit for the soul.
now for actually interesting finds
Tumblr media
despite appearances, this is a test map!
Tumblr media
i'm not especially sure what etherane was doing. but it was definitely something!
speaking of maps,
Tumblr media
they are FREAKISHLY organized. i have never seen someone this organized. literally everything in the game is named like this! it's terrifying!
the room with the afterword is called Diary Room
Tumblr media
which i think is nice. really captures the fact that afterword is like watching etherane rip themself open
Tumblr media
cruel reminder that charles' house layout is literally just the puppeteer symbol.
Tumblr media
scarlett eyler has battle stats
Tumblr media
as does charlotte. her stats are comically better than scarlett's
Tumblr media
etherane seems to use the nickname field as a lastname field instead.
Tumblr media
here are the specific sound settings, for the curious
Tumblr media
various common events, which are all pretty self explanatory.
Tumblr media
blank magcat that does absolutely fuckall
Tumblr media
unlike ep1 and delirium, where parallax backgrounds were used sparingly. basically every location in the game is a parallax image. the tilesets are used for decorations and set pieces, mostly.
that's about all i can think to show for now. if you have a specific thing you want me to dig for let me know and i will. i have unaltered filenames for image files and spritesheets and again the entire vx ace project file. alternatively, i can do dialogue edits to make your memes real

Funding FujoCoded: Stretch Goals!
It’s time! With our first goal met (🎉 thank you!), let’s talk about stretch goals. We have quite a few planned, so we're going to go through them one by one and explain what they are and why we chose them!
Tumblr media
Before we go down the list, here's something fun:
Sticker Unlock: At 45 backers, we also unlocked one more sticker!
Tumblr media
The goal of our campaign is to cover business expenses most of all. The unlocked content is an extra token of gratitude for your support that also helps us meet our own targets!
With that said, let's get to our stretch goals...
$4,000: "That's Why I Ship On Company Time" Ao3 Sticker
At $4,000 we'll unlock one more sticker design that you can add to your collection!
Our first version of this "shipping" sticker features VSCode and a terminal, but there's more than one type of shipping... here's to the other one!
Tumblr media
$5,000: "Using NPM with Javascript" Article
Next up, we have our first article. Our plan is to add an Articles section to @fujowebdev where we'll collect simple, free guides to help beginners get past the roadblocks we see them encounter!
This first one will cover the basics of NPM, a core element of modern JavaScript!
Tumblr media
"How do I install this JavaScript library? How do I run this open source JavaScript project? How can I get started creating my blog using a tool like @astrodotbuild?" are some of the most common questions we get in our Fandom Coders server.
Let's give *everyone* the answer!
$6,000: Offering Website Art Prints
Next up, we'll turn the excellent art on our website into prints! These will be (probably) 8x10-sized art prints that will look amazing without breaking the bank. Full specs soon!
Tumblr media
...and speaking of the site, you have tried moving the windows, right?
Tumblr media
$7,000: "Catching Up With Terminal" Article
Next, another common issue for beginner developers: how to start learning how to handle the Terminal.
Tumblr media
This will require some research to determine the major roadblocks, which is how our project operates: active learning from those going through it all!
$8,000: "Crucial Confrontations" Article
And last (for now), something very dear to us: an article extracting some wisdom from the book "Crucial Confrontations": https://www.amazon.com/Crucial-Confrontations-Resolving-Promises-Expectations/dp/0071446524
This may seem like an unusual choice, but it highlights how our teaching goals go beyond programming to cover collaboration!
Tumblr media
After years of working within our community, we repeatedly found that developing effective communication and confrontation skills helps our collaborators thrive. Unfortunately, the world doesn't teach us how to effectively (but kindly) hold each other accountable.
Some of our most involved collaborators have read this book and found the tools within it transformative. Given this experience, we deeply believe that making some of this wisdom easily accessible (without having to read the full book) will allow all of us to collaborate better!
If we can reach $8,000, this will enable us to test this hypothesis and learn how teaching soft skills beyond programming influences what we're able to achieve! It's a bold idea, but we're excited to see how it turns out in practice.
Help us make it there!
And that's all...for now!
If you want to hop on Twitch right now, you can join us as we put some extra polish on our shiny new FujoCoded website.
And remember, you can back our campaign here to help us achieve these goals and more:

PENNY IS TRANS AS FUCK: An Essay.
WARNING, SPOILERS FOR POKÉMON SCARLET ABD VIOLET
Tumblr media
So I saw some TERFs getting mad at someone headcanoning Penny from the new Pokémon games as trans saying they’re intolerant because they, and I paraphrase “headcanon every vaguely gnc person as trans.”
Anyway I, a cis man, am out here like: Did we play the same fucking game? So I’m going to compile every bit of evidence that I can find in support of this gal being trans.
Let’s start with what I like to call Trans Evidence Lightning Round. These are things I can’t write ridiculous amounts about but still feel important to include. These include but are not limited to: 1.Her wearing a large hoodie (possibly a dysphoria hoodie)
2. Her terrifying proficiency with coding and hacking. (Note, this is in no way dismissing cis women in coding or stem as a whole. The trans girl coder stereotype is just really common and Pokémon loves its shorthand)
3. She has a FUCKING SYLVEON (literally has the trans flag colours as the colour scheme) as her ace when you battle her.
4. She says “Shine bright like the starry sky and become who you really want to be!” When terrastalising said Sylveon, which can be taken in a number of ways.
5. The fact that none of the team star bosses knew her name before she left, only referring to her as “The Big Boss”
I’ll probably add more later. Now, onto the juicy stuff. Some of this doesn’t fit together but they all seem to imply the same thing and they’re all there.
It is revealed later on that, like the rest of the team star members, Penny was bullied relentlessly. It got so bad that she eventually just shut herself inside and never left the house. This isolation was so intense that up until the end of the Starfall Street story, none of her closest friends (the team star bosses) ever saw her real face. This isn’t the strongest bit of evidence but we’re never given a particular reason like we did with Eri or Atticus, so it’s in no way out of the question that the bullying could’ve been transphobic in nature.
Ortega’s Tutor (the director of the academy before Clavell took over) refers to the “Big Boss” (AKA Penny) as a he before sending her back to Galar as “punishment” for 1.5 years. Now this could just be a mistake on the devs’ part, but that seems like it gives us a rough timeline of eggcrackery, intentional misgendering (which seems out of character for the guy), or it could simply be that he had never met Penny due to the aforementioned social isolation and based it off of the student database which in my experience rarely updates this kind of stuff.
Nemona doesn’t recognise her. I repeat, NEMONA doesn’t recognise her. The most extroverted of extroverts, the super popular girl who’s on the student council and could probably look at the student database if she wanted to, the girl who has been at the school for AT LEAST two years for the simple reason that the events of the main story is not her first treasure hunt does not know this girl despite her being there before. There are many ways someone could write this off, including the aforementioned social isolation and her not knowing too much about team star in general but that is still really weird considering that this is NEMONA that we’re talking about. This could easily be supporting evidence for her transition over the 1.5 years in Galar.
And let’s say you’re still not convinced and you think she’s cis. That’s fucking fine. Nobody is going to judge you for that. But don’t be a piece of garbage and get mad at someone for headcanoning her as trans. To me and many others, she’s a genuinely cool trans character that doesn’t shove that fact in your face. Seriously, anyone who does this (btw if any of you TERFs stayed up to here, thank you but why?). Y’all get mad that “The media shoves trans shit in my face” then when there’s a character who either isn’t trans but resonates with trans audiences or is more subtle about their identity you get angry when anyone calls them trans. It’s very contradictory and I dare say hypocritical.

A USEFUL TIP WHEN USING BETA TEXT EDITOR
many of us seem to be struggling with a minor bug when it comes to typing out our responses on tumblr using the BTE. the biggest one i've come to notice is when we make our replies small. it's super common for the BTE to hardcore glitch and have the last couple of letters regular sized while the rest of the response is small. here is an example:
Lorem ipsum dolor sit amet, consectetur adipiscing elit. Aliquam eros leo, feugiat sit amet massa at, dapibus consectetur massa. Aliquam eget metus nec dolor efficitur sodales faucibus interdum dolor. Maecenas mollis justo euismod varius dictum. Etiam scelerisque erat vitae est hendrerit, a maximus justo tempor.
idk about you but i find that to be pretty annoying but that's just me.
another problem is that, for some odd reason, we're not able to do a form of "indentation" when typing out our responses on here via the BTE. why? idk. i really don't. now when i say "indentation" i mean like how one does when writing a research paper for school or writing out a fanfic. you know ... something like this:
Lorem ipsum dolor sit amet, consectetur adipiscing elit. Aliquam eros leo, feugiat sit amet massa at, dapibus consectetur massa. Aliquam eget metus nec dolor efficitur sodales faucibus interdum dolor. Maecenas mollis justo euismod varius dictum. Etiam scelerisque erat vitae est hendrerit, a maximus justo tempor.
so what i honestly recommend doing is to just type all of your responses on Roleplay Formatter. the reason for this is because Roleplay Formatter is what many coders and graphic designers call WYSIWYG. for those of you wondering, WYSIWYG stands for What You See Is What You Get. this is very beneficial for those of us who code, do gfx, and whatnot because it helps us get a better idea on what to expect for the end result.
it's super easy to use and i honestly can't recommend it enough. really. and not only that but you can use hell of a lot more colors for your text through there than on here where you only get eight options to choose from. all you need is a website that gives you the color hex and you're golden. here's a couple of sites i recommend you using for getting color hexes:
encycolorpedia

Techno Magic Crash Course
Tumblr media
Hello World! (hehe)
Ive noticed a lack of information on techno-magic and what being a tech witch might entail! Tech magic is the use of modern-day technology in our magical practices! This can be a secular practice OR someone may pair other aspects of theology into it! There is also 'Technopaganism' which is the merge of neopaganism and digital magic. Some people may worship tech and its energy or some people simply use it as a tool for ritual magic!
In this post I wanted to showcase a few ideas to get you started in the tech practice! The first section being common tools, the second is common tech practices, and the last is about how to take steps into your new tech practice and advance forward!
First: The tools To get started here are some amazing apps people might get on their phones to carry magic anywhere
The Moon is an iphone based calander with a bunch of free information about the phases of the moon and even crystals and intentions related to the phase!
Rune reading on the Google Play Store this is a divination app in relation to runes!
Citrine Circle is a great crystal data base to keep track of crystal you either have or want to get
Time Passages is a free chart reader that will read your whole astrological chart!
Labrynthos is a free tarot app that not only gives you access to free tarot, oracle, and lenormand decks, but it teaches you how to read them
Next are physical or digital items you can use in your craft, I will go in more detail in the sections to follow!
Computers, phones, tablets
Mouse
Keyboards
Applications and websites
coding platforms
Second: The Practice
This section is all about creating ideas to use for your craft! This section is all about how to integrate common witchy things into your craft! There are thousands of ways to do this so it would be impossible for me to share every idea but hopefully, these get your creative juices flowing
Cleanse using music or beats you enjoy over a speaker
Use mechanical processes in your spells (for example your cars computer could be a green light charm if you hate waiting in red lights)
Create digital grimoires on places like notation or google docs
Create altars on places like Pinterest or sandbox games
Play video games with intentions, like tycoon games for prosperity and FPS for warding
Use autotune during chants to add more power to your voice
Use screens for scrying or intuition practices
Shufflemancy is when you shuffle through a playlist and get a song as a form of divination
Use the energy of a crystal on your screen if you don't physically have one
create digital sigils and hide them around your electronics
Learn a coding language and mess around with enchanting code
Third: How to move forward
So now that you have a few recommendations how can you advance? first research, check out some of these sources for even more information
Tech Magick for Digital Witches
Other Community tech posts
Wiki on technopaganism
Cyber Spell books (Note this was written in 2002 so it is very outdated, however it is actually one of the more recent ones I see online)
Now, Research is going to be the backbone of any practice, however, tech magic doesn't have definite rules so experimentation is going to be your best friend so here are my top tips
If you learn about a new practice ask yourself how you can make it digital (like crystals and the crystals in your phone)
Look deeper into the practice, as you explore how your computer works ask yourself 'why' frequently and question how things work
look into superstitions coders and virtual friends have in relation to computers, are they rooted in anything?
I think that is all for today friends! I hope you all enjoy and if you have any questions feel free to post them in the comments!
