You sat down at your desk singing along to your beloved playlist. You turned your light on your mirror searching for your hair clips. You managed to locate them by clipping your hair out of your face. Your music was briefly interrupted by a text notification.
You pick up your phone and it is from Johnnie, ‘should be done soon. Just filmed for Jake's, we're gonna do mine now. Probably just dick around Walmart or something. See you soon love 🖤’ you smiled at his text.

You decided the powder baking on your face was about done so you brushed it off. You grabbed your contour brush and packed some onto it. You started to carve your face onto the white base using the black powder.
Now it was time for your eye makeup. It was the hardest part. You spent a good while meticulously adding your eyeliner and eyeshadow. Once you were done, sufficiently looking like a bat, you finished it off with black lipstick and some setting spray.
You put on accessories and teased your hair to high heaven. And you were all ready. You sprayed some perfume on and looked in the mirror. Fuck did you look good. You posed a little admiring yourself, you took your phone out again and decided to take a few pictures.
This time you posted them as posts and not a story so anyone could say anything. It scared you but you couldn't hide forever. You were dating Johnnie and no one could change that.
It took only a few minutes before the comments came rolling in. All of which were positive, it made your heart soar with all the compliments. You were smiling until you read one: ‘Johnnie eating good tonight’ . It was a nice comment and funny naturally.

“Mmm…” The villain closed their eyes for a second and the hero already suspected some drunken tiredness to come over them, leaving the hero to drag them back to the car.
“I think that was quite a lot, no?” The hero grabbed the glass — still halfway filled with some vodka and cola mixture — and pulled it to their side of the table. Far away so the villain couldn’t reach it.
“God, they’re so annoying, y’know?” the villain looked at the hero again and some suspicious part of their brain wondered if the villain was toying with them.
What if they had figured out that the hero wasn’t actually their secretary? What if this was their way of saying “gotcha” and shoot them in the head?
“Totally, but you’ve been saying that quite a lot this evening. You can’t let your enemy get to you like that,” the hero said. It was funny that those words actually came out of their mouth. They were the one who was obsessed enough to go undercover, after all.
“Yeahhh, I know…” The villain drew some invisible lines into the table with their index finger.
The bar was pretty full for a work day but the hero was thankful for it. That way, no one was paying any attention to them.
The villain smiled softly. “I talk a lot about them, right?”
Although the hero wasn’t drunk, their face felt quite hot.
“Uhm, I suppose.” Once again, the villain smiled dreamily and the hero didn’t exactly know where this was going. They had a feeling but…
“One time…they were nice to me one time.” The villain paused. “I was injured and the hero helped me.”
“That is very nice,” the hero agreed. They remembered the moment a little too well. The villain had been in a pretty bad shape. Buried under a lot of rubble, several broken bones, many injured muscles…The hero had never even thought of another outcome. All they had wanted was the villain’s survival.
“The way they look at me sometimes…I don’t…I can’t deal with it.” The villain leaned back, searched for their drink, got distracted and tapped with their fingers on the table again. They were funny when they were drunk and still, very different from that rather silent leader which they were at work.
“What do you mean?”
“I don’t know,” the villain answered, grinning. “I used to hate them. Like, really hate them. I think I was scared of them.”
“Scared? You? You’re so much stronger than them.” That was the truth. And the hero was certain this was some foul game at play.
“They’re smarter than me.”
“I don’t think so,” the hero answered.
“They intimidated me because they challenged me.” The villain bit their lip. “They made me think about my own goals and what I want to be.”
“They challenged your ideals,” the hero concluded. But the villain only shrugged.
“I wanted to get rid of them because of that but they’re very sweet, I fear.” They looked at the hero and their next smile looked rather sad. “But no one could ever love a person like me, isn’t that so? The blood on my hands will never dry.”
Oh god, the hero didn’t know how to answer. Their face was burning because, in fact, they hadn’t been quite sure about their own feelings. Was it a crush? Simple interest? A work thing?
The hero didn’t know what they were feeling and they didn’t know how to keep their cover now.
“Uhm…” They swallowed. “I think there are a lot of things about you which are admirable.”
“I don’t think I’m allowed to date my enemy.” Oh. “And I don’t think I would ask them. Too shy.”
The hero stared at them.
They needed another plan.

"I demand a refund in life." (Y/n) said blankly as she stared as Ego and Anri, while she herself was sitting on the floor. Now why was she on the floor? Well the reason for that were the Itoshi brothers, or more precisely the reason being the toddler versions of the two. Ego was ready to rip his hair out by now and Anri had tears streaming down her face from the cuteness. The two Itoshis, now toddlers, ran towards (Y/n) as soon as she entered the room, causing her to drop the papers she was carrying and were now bickering.
"(Y/n)! Carry!" Rin smiled up at the girl, causing her to make a double-take.
'Rin?! Smiling?!'
Sae pouted at the attention his younger brother was getting as let go of the girl's arm and hugged her instead.
"No! Me!" Sae protested, hugging the girl's neck tightly as Rin tried to pull him away.
"What will we do now?! Real Madrid will kill us if they see Sae like this!" (Y/n) panicked as Rin tried to get her attention again.
"Calm down, calm down. We will talk with them. We will need to look for someone to watch them-"
"Noo! (Y/n)!" Rin yelled in protest as Sae turned around to nod his head.
"I can't possibly watch them! I need to assist Teieri-san today at the JFU!" (Y/n) protested as Anri nodded at Ego.
"That's true, Ego-san. I will need her help today." There was a short silence where the three looked at each other and then at the 2 toddlers, when cries echoed through the room.
"Nooo!" The three looked in panic at Rin, who was crying loudly and sat on the ground. (Y/n) and Anri tried to calm him down, while Sae was glaring at his brother. The reason? Well, (Y/n) had to put Sae down and hugged Rin instead.
'So warm!' Rin thought as he cried louder, hoping Ego will grow annoyed and let (Y/n) watch them. And true to the plan, Ego sighed loudly, catching the attention of both (Y/n) and Anri.
"Fine! (Y/n), you take care of them. Can you now shut up?" Ego asked Rin, who immediately stopped crying.
"Ok!" The boy grinned, wiping his tears away.
"And how will I go to the JFU? People will ask who they are." (Y/n) asked as she loosened her hold on Rin. Sae used the opportunity to hug (Y/n)'s left arm, glaring at his grinning brother in the process.
"Just take them with you and say they are some cousins." Ego waved her off and both Anri and (Y/n) looked at each other in worry.
"Rin, no don't touch the floor!" (Y/n) scolded the younger Itoshi as she picked him up again. The four were in one of the meeting rooms at the JFU, waiting for the other members to arrive.
"God help me, (Y/n) just keep them at bay and write down whatever you can, alright?" Anri said as (Y/n) nodded her head, holding Rin tightly in her arms.
"Alrigh, Teieri-san. Come here Sae, I will put you up on the chair next to me." (Y/n) said as she put Rin on her lap and pulled Sae on the said chair, arrangement the older Itoshi didn't like.
"No. Here." The redhead pointed at her lap and (Y/n) shook her head and patted his head.
"Sorry Sae, but I need to hold Rin and write important stuff down. You will have to sit there for now."
"Hmph..." Sae pouted as Rin poked his tongue out while (Y/n) wasn't looking. The older boy rolled his eyes and hugged her arm, to which (Y/n) did protest, but it fell on deaf ears.
The meeting went as well as it could go with two toddlers. One of the higher ups kept telling (Y/n) to get them out of the room, that the kids are distracting their work, but gave up as soon as Rin started crying. He cried for about 5 minutes till one of the men said they can stay. Sae had fallen asleep at some point after that, hugging (Y/n)'s arm. The girl didn't want to wake him up after the meeting was over, so she put Rin on the ground and carried Sae. Now, this was the first time Rin wanted to cry for real, but held himself back. He just grabbed (Y/n)'s pants and walked after her.
"It wasn't bad at the end of the day..." She commented as Anri nodded her head.
"Yeah, could have been a lot worse. Let's go now, I need to report to Ego-san and those two are probably hungry." (Y/n) agreed, smiling a little as Sae grumbled something in his sleep.
"Well, hello there~ don't you look extra pretty today?" Sae and Rin tensed up as they heard Oliver's voice approach the three.
"Ha? Hi Oliver, what did you need?" (Y/n) asked as she looked at the black haired man, causing the two toddlers to grumble a little.
"(Y/n)..." Rin muttered as he tried to get her attention.
"Seems like you became a part-time babysitter. It's kinda sad that you misses the training today, if only you saw the score I made today." Oliver boasted as (Y/n) nodded her head.
"Well, I am sure it was great. Regardless if I was there or not."
"Trust me it was, even Kaiser couldn't keep up." Oliver smirked and then looked down at Sae, who was glaring at him. The older let out a chuckle and went to pick up Sae while (Y/n) was calming Rin down.
"Now, aren't you all cute and cuddly! Not such a big ego anymore?" Oliver teased as Sae kept glaring at him.
"Wa...wait Oliver, Sae just ate dinner!" (Y/n) panicked as Rin happily held her hand.
"So?" Oliver raised his eyebrow. Just as (Y/n) was about to answer, Sae puked on his face causing him to yell as (Y/n) took Sae out of his arms.
"Toddlers can sometimes throw up." She answered, smiling nervously as Oliver wiped some of the stuff off of his face.
Sae and Rin sent each other mischievous grins as (Y/n) wiped the remaining puke off of Oliver.
"Maybe you should go and wash your face... clothes too."
"Good idea." Oliver laughed nervously, trying so hard not to glare at Sae.

#28: ...as a lie
ps. this is inspired by this post about dealer!mickey & insomniac!ian, who have now rotted my brain.
Ian hasn’t slept in days.
It’s happened before—endless energy is one of his tried-and-true symptoms of mania—but this isn’t that. He’s taking his meds, his skin isn’t crawling and his mind is fairly quiet. Quiet enough to frustrate him as he tosses and turns and wonders what the fuck’s going on.
His schedule has been all over the place lately; his normal routine lost to the endless cycles of employment and Gallagher family responsibilities. He’d been hoping to add school to the mix this semester so that he could have other, less hectic options than a rig-riding EMT, but he’d pushed it off. A pity, now that all-nighters are apparently his thing.
Night two, he googles a few things, which is a huge mistake. Who can fall asleep after reading about how even just twenty-four hours without sleep can begin to derail your bodily systems? Sleep deprivation can cause or worsen conditions like Type 2 diabetes, High blood pressure, Stroke, Heart attack—his pulse leaps as his phone clatters to the ground.
Night three, he takes to the streets, running around the Southside until his lungs burn and his knees wobble. As he passes the clinic that gave his seventeen-year-old self a lifetime prescription for antipsychotics, he knows that if this lasts much longer, he should call his doctor. Tell them his nighttime meds aren’t putting him to sleep anymore. Nip this insomnia thing in the bud before it can overthrow the delicate balance he’s worked so hard to maintain.
Night four, desperate and a bit delusion, he pulls up a number he hasn’t used in years, saved under a contact labeled, DO NOT TEXT.
He breaks his own rule: Hey. Still making house calls?
The response is almost immediate: the fuck u care for?
Ian rolls his bloodshot eyes, typing: It’s an emergency.
Three little dots herald a response that makes him laugh: a weed emergency?
He stays strong: Wouldn’t ask if I didn’t need it.
The next text makes his chest clench: u ok?
He decides to keep it vague—I can’t sleep, but it’s not what you think.—and hopes he doesn’t have to explain further and is relieved to read: u want ur usual?
Another clench: Indica

There it is: the reason Ian doesn’t use this number anymore.
Maybe in another life it would be a blessing to have a weed dealer to lovers arc with your childhood crush, but in this one, it was a curse. A curse that lasted almost a whole year, bringing with it an endless bouquet of blissful fucks and free weed, and a million moments of tenderness Ian knew nobody else was getting out of the guy. A curse that eventually came to collect payment in the form of bloodied knuckles, broken hearts and ego wounds. A curse that still clings to Ian’s psyche, filling his dreams with gentle, tattooed fingers and bright blue eyes and a sweet and savory scent that can only be described as Mickey.
Mickey, now DO NOT TEXT.
On second thought, maybe he should never sleep again.
The knock at the door makes him hard—a Pavlovian response that irks him more than the three sleepless nights he’s suffered so far. Three raps, one right after the other. The last one no more than a brush of his hand.
Ian adjusts himself and answers the door.
Fuck, one look at that smug asshole and he’s immediately right back in it. Lust and like and maybe even a little bit of reckless fucking love fill his body, rising to the surface like sweet cream. A layer of fat on the roof of one’s mouth; a treat to lick later, a reminder that they didn’t end things because they weren’t insanely hot for one another and potentially soulmates. They were just idiots. Stubborn, petty dicks.
Oh Pride, the great slayer of men.
Jesus, he needs to sleep.
“First one’s on the house,” Mickey says as he crosses the threshold, a joint held tightly between C and K.
Hours slip by. They laugh, they smoke. It feels like old times. Ian’s body is loose in a way it hasn’t been in years. It feels good. Like maybe-he-could-sleep-tonight good. And as he melts further into the couch, he starts to get a little horny too. Because Mickey’s yapping on and on about some asshole that frequents the bar he works at, and Ian’s listening, he swears he’s listening, but he’s also staring at Mickey’s mouth like he wants to take Mickey up on that text message and shut him the fuck up with his dick.
Like he wants to taste the stale smoke of his tongue.
Wants him to stay the night.
Forever, maybe.
Mickey finishes his story. His eyes go soft and he drums his fingers against his knee. “Should get outta your hair, Gallagher,” he says. “Letcha sleep.”
That’s the last thing Ian wants.
“Not tired,” he fibs.
Mickey cocks an eyebrow. “You’re not? ’S been days, man. This shit’s gotta be hittin’ ya by now.”
It’s true. It has been days and this shit is hitting him. Or maybe he’s having a sleep-deprivation-induced stroke. He just knows Mickey can’t go.
“Can’t go to sleep without a goodnight kiss.”
Mickey’s already leaning in when he asks, “Then you promise you’ll hit the hay?”
Ian nods as Mickey presses a kiss to his lying lips.

ooh my god this took me so long to get out we're almost a week into the new years 😭😭😭. but when I saw this ask I actually screamed thank u sm nonnie. being able to ramble nonsense abt ven is always so fun. these aren't a lot whatsoever but these are some main things I think about with venti. all are random but somewhat related?
he often does performances, whether that be at a tavern/bar or an open mic that are either 'dedicated' to you or a 'special somebody'. even if he doesn't directly say your name, he makes it so obvious that it's about you, his eyes glued onto you the entirety of his show. it's supposed to be a sweet gesture, and it would be, if it wasn't so clearly a way for him to claim you as his, which is only worsened by the fact that you're not. no one would ever believe otherwise though.
in the same vain, if you start romantically seeing someone, or even slightly have interest in anyone, he instantly becomes intensely clingy. you two have barely hung out recently, you two should hang out more! he's been dying to see this live show with you, and there's a new cafe that just opened up, and there's this beautiful meadow nearby that's perfect for a picnic, he pulls out all the works to try to convince you to spend more time with him than anybody else. and trust, if you do spend time with someone else, you'll never hear the end of it. he'll constantly sulk or make you feel insanely guilty, saying anything and everything to make you feel awful.
I think the main thing that would differentiate canon!venti and modern au!venti are their literal powers. given that modern!venti doesn't have a borderline fear-tactic to hold over your head, he instead resorts to manipulating you, especially in ways similar to the headcanon above.
venti is insanely emotionally intelligent. he knows every little thing about you, how your mind ticks and what really pulls at your heart strings. he can't help but use this to his favor. anytime an 'issue' arises between you too, he's quick to put on an award-winning act. of course, if it was what'd he call a genuine problem or a mistake on his behalf, he's quick to apologize and do everything in his power to make amends. but if you're upset about something akin to his clinginess and possessiveness... oh baby, you're getting guilt-tripped.
it doesn't really matter if you're a person who's hard to manipulate or not. venti can break a will. at some point you just wear down and give up.
canon!venti really doesn't like to hold his powers against you (he really loves the thought of you choosing to be with him, even if that choice is... coerced), but if push comes to shove, he does. he would never would never actually use them, but stories about how he acted and what he did back during those days of war are certainly enough to keep you docile. to be fair, he doesn't necessarily need to use them at all. you're far less likely to go against him if you know just what he's capable of. deep down he knows he'd never do anything, but he's so unpredictable that the fear that he could is enough.
I think venti would also definitely use the fact that he's the god of freedom against you, especially as a sort of mind trick. he states that he's the god of freedom, he would never take away your freewill, that goes against everything he stands for! so, the fact that you're with him is clearly your own choice, something of your own doing, and if you truly wanted to, you could've left him at any time you wanted to!
somewhat similarly, I think venti would have a 'thing' for getting you to say certain things. he'll do things like pin you down and say (with a big, toothy smile plastered on his face) that he won't let you out until you admit that you love him, admit that you're his and all his, admit that you would never, ever leave him. he tells you to do it in a lighthearted manner through giggles and grins, but you know that he's serious about never letting you out from underneath his grasp.
also, another few headcanons that doesn't really fit into anything else:
I think another difference between modern au!venti and canon!venti is that modern au!venti is a lot more of a creep. as the god of freedom, canon!venti would, of course, stick to atleast some of his morals and godly obligations. being a yandere doesn't entirely diminish his values, even if he does stretch the limitations of them often. but modern venti is not tied to those morals, so he has no reason to really obide by them. he therefore sees no issue with doing things like going through your room or your items, looking through any notes or journals or diaries you have, laying on your bed or pocketing an item of yours or two.
despite gods likely having insane regenerative powers, I can see venti choosing to keep any and all scars that would've developed throughout his life of serving out duties as a god. they're all so especially jarring because of just how gentle and harmless venti looks in comparison. it serves both as a reminder of his past and all he's been through (something that you would definitely atleast sympathize with) and all he's done, a testament as to how looks can be deceiving and that you should certainly never underestimate him.
