THE MORNING AFTER ALWAYS
WARNINGS: absolutely none. Just some pure, sweet content.
PAIRING(S): Trevor Zegras x Fem!Reader
SUMMARY: in which Fem!Reader wakes up next to Trevor Zegras for the first time.
It was late in the afternoon when Trevor opened his eyes, and for a moment, he wondered where he even was. There was the warmth of a body snuggled into his side, there was the feeling of legs tangled with his underneath the sheets, and there was numbness in his arm from a head resting on his tattoo-covered bicep the whole night. All things he never woke up to. And then he was horrified, sickened even. He couldn’t have possibly stayed the whole night after a one night stand, could he?
Trevor jumped, pulling away and hearing a soft groan before quiet grumbles were muttered under a breath, but he wasn’t too concerned about that right now. Who was this? And where were his clothes? And why did the room suddenly feel oddly familiar?
“Trevor, what the fuck?” Y/N grumbled, glaring at him through bleary, sleep hazed eyes. He blinked once, then twice, and then he tilted his head to the side in confusion. And soon, he grinned as he realized, and it was bright and ecstatic and just a little bit smug before he tugged her body against his quickly. A little too quickly since it caused her to huff and deliver a light smack to his chest in irritation.
“So, you stayed the whole night with me, huh?” Trevor wriggled his eyebrows, smirking at her as he pressed a gleeful kiss to her forehead. She pursed her lips as she stared up at him, and she wondered if it was too late now to back out of whatever this was she had with him.
“After you begged me to, yeah.” Y/N spat, and he clutched his chest dramatically, as though her words landed a harsh blow to his ego. In all realness, he was too giddy to care, but Trevor Zegras was not Trevor Zegras if not without at least some theatrics.
“I wasn’t the one drooling on your chest, now was I?” He asked, chuckling as her eyes narrowed at him. Her gaze was almost enough to pierce through him, and if he was being honest, he loved it. Gently, he reached, pinching her nose affectionately as his arm curled tighter around her. “See? I’m not so bad, after all.” He mumbled, and her expression softened as he let out a happy sigh, pulling the sheets up to cover them better.
“You’re a clingy sleeper, did you know that?”
“I distinctly remember my arm being the one to fall asleep because you were lying on it.”
“And then you rudely woke me up when you pulled away.” Y/N huffed, grumbling the word “asshole” under her breath as she shuffled out of his arms and shifted to turn with her back facing him.
Trevor pouted, inching closer until his chin rested on her shoulder, molding his body around hers as his finger prodded at her side repeatedly. Y/N smacked his hand away, but it did little to deter him, and his finger was back to poking at her hip not long after. “Did you have dreams about me, at least?”
“Trevor.” Y/N warned.
“Did I look hot?”
“No.”
Y/N could practically feel his pout deepen as his arms wrapped around her again, his face burying into the crook of her neck. But as he planted a soft kiss into her skin, she smiled to herself, bringing her hand to lay on his and rubbing over his knuckles with her thumb in slow circles. He pulled her so her back was flush against his chest, and for once, she leaned into him.
Trevor felt the same giddy feeling bubbling up again, the one he felt when he envisioned mornings together as she made pancakes, and steal each other’s last bites, and argue over washing dishes, and splashing water in each other’s faces. Because now, there were no more empty hookups and lonely mornings because now she stayed, and she snuggled into his chest, and she latched onto his arm, and she gave him a chance to live out all those daydreams.
“C’mon, I was a little hot, right?” Trevor whined, digging his nose further into her neck. And she wanted to yell at him for ruining her sleep, but there was nothing but fondness blooming at the way he held her near, bodies pressed so closely together, she almost didn’t know where one ended and where the other began.
“Nope, not even a little.” Y/N teased, a grin spreading on her face as he sulked against her skin. Her fingers laced with his, slowly entwining as her eyes open, and maybe she could get used to mornings like this, even if it was technically noon by now.
“We’re dating now, you know.” Trevor grumbled. “So that means you have to be nice to me. It’s in the rule book.”
“I have to humble you.” Y/N corrected, giggling lightly. “And since when do you ever follow rules?”
“Since I’m the one who makes them.” He chuckled, and then she was being turned around, being shifted to lay on her back as Trevor hovered over her, biting her cheek playfully. She couldn’t help but squeal, laughing as she tried to shove him off, and there was warmth in his chest, eyes bright and heart full as he stared down at her while the rays of sunlight kissed her skin.
Trevor thought that after this, if he had to spend even a single morning without Y/N by his side, it was a morning wasted and even if the clock ticked one in the afternoon, and the birds were no longer chirping, and it was a tad bit late to be making pancakes, this was probably still the best morning he’d ever spent.
“I was promised an excellent breakfast last night.” Y/N reminded him. Her hand reached to cup his cheek, thumb tracing over the soft flesh gently, and he followed the touch like a moth did a flame.
Leaning down, Trevor pressed a delicate peck to her lips, then another, and then another and soon, it deepened to a kiss, both of their eyes fluttering shut as her arms wrapped around his neck. Hesitantly, he pulled away, and she wondered to herself if his eyes had always been such a vibrant shade of blue.
“Only the best for you.” Trevor winked, and then he dipped back down, lips pressing themselves against hers once more.

warnings | not proofread. one use of “y/n”. lowercase intended. this is a work of fiction, i am by no means saying this is how they act in real life.
a/n | here’s part two to blind date! i cant wait to write more of jamie and isla, because they are literally so cute!!!
being a single mother and dating was never something you thought would work well together. well, that was until you met jamie drysdale. he had accepted from the first date that your daughter, isla, always came first. he had also accepted that it would take time for him to finally be introduced to isla, and he fully understood. he anticipated the day he would meet the little girl who your entire world revolved around. after about a month and a half of dating, you had finally decided it was time for your love to meet your baby girl.
jamie anxiously paced his shared apartment with trevor, mumbling to himself as he did so. trevor watched him from the couch, a small smile working its way onto his face. “jamie, dude, relax.” jamie glared at trevor before settling down on the couch beside him.
“z, what if she doesn’t like me?” jamie finally voiced his worries, trevor starting to laugh until he realized jamie was serious. “i really like y/n, and i really don’t want to mess this up.”
“isla will love you! i mean she adores me.” trevor tried to ease jamie’s nerves, but it didn’t do much. “look, if there is anyway to isla’s heart it’s frozen. the kid’s obsessed with it, i mean she literally had a frozen themed birthday party! if you want her to like you, you gotta listen to her talk about it. and trust me, she will talk about it.” jamie listened intently, a plan forming in his head.
a buzzing noise rang through your apartment as you rushed to the door to let jamie in. as he made his way up, you ran around, attempting to clean up the mess isla had decide to make just as jamie had text that he was on his way. “isla! dinner’s almost ready.” jamie knocked on your door, a smile creeping onto his face at the frazzled look on your face.
“hey, baby.” you smiled, kissing him lightly. “sorry for the mess. she found out you were coming over and got very excited.” jamie laughed as you let him in the apartment, taking the pizzas from his hands. “she just couldn't find the perfect dress to wear.” jamie looked around the homey apartment, toys scattered about. he walked further in, hands nervously tugging at the straps of his bag, taking in the comfort that was your apartment; he already felt at home.
“momma?” a voice spoke from down the hallway, a toddler appearing moments later. she had her thumb in her mouth, clearly nervous as she waddled toward you.
“hey, baby doll, there's someone i want you to meet.” you picked her up, walking over to jamie. “jamie meet my daughter, isla. isla, baby, this is mommy’s friend jamie!” jamie smiled kindly at the toddler, who buried her face in your neck as she smiled softly. “can you say hi, isla?”
“hi…” she spoke quietly, almost inaudible, taking a quick glance at jamie.
“hi, isla, your momma’s told me a lot about you.” isla giggled softly at that, a smile building its way up to her face. “in fact, she told me about your favorite thing in the whole world: frozen.” jamie pulled his bag from off his shoulder, digging around until he found what he was looking for. he pulled out a two-pack doll set, which held elsa and anna, isla’s eyes widening when she saw it. she began to wiggle to get out of your arms, excitement in her eyes. “so, i got you this.” you put isla down, who made her way over to jamie, excited but still slightly cautious.
you looked at jamie, shocked by his action. you knew he was nervous and wanted to impress her, but you hadn’t expected him to buy a thirty dollar toy for the first time he was going to be meeting her. “isla, love, what do you say?”
“thanks, ‘aime!” you smiled at your daughter as she hugged jamie’s legs, too quick for jamie to reciprocate. she took the toy, giving him a toothy smile before waddling off.
“baby, why don’t we play with that after we eat, okay?” this seemed to frustrate isla, but she set the toy down nonetheless, taking the hand you offered. “you want to cheese or pepperoni?”
“cheese.” she said, accepting the plate that held her slice of pizza on it.
“we’ll eat on the couch tonight, okay? we can watch a movie too.”
“frozen!” you laughed, looking to jamie who had been watching the two of you with love and awe. he snapped out of it, absentmindedly agreeing. “‘ome on, we gotta watch together!” isla grabbed jamie’s hand, pulling him to the couch. he looked back, a huge smile on his lips.
you proceeded to grab pizza for both you and jamie, walking to join them on the couch. you set the plates down, grabbing your phone to take a picture of the sight in front of you: jamie was cutting isla’s pizza into smaller pieces as she rambled on and on about something.
you smiled as he looked up, giving his pretty smile. in that moment, everything was perfect.

Jack wiped his hands on his shorts as he walked outside onto the back porch. He walked down the porch and saw Maddox and Trevor on Maddox’s hanging bed and Maddox was reading.
Jack cleared his throat making the two look at him, “Could i speak to Maddi?” Jack nervously questioned as Trevor was glaring at him.
Trevor had been very standoffish towards Jack for the last few months and Jack realized it was him being protective of Maddox and Jack couldn’t be mad because Trevor was protecting Maddox when Jack didn’t.
“It’s ok.” Maddox rested a hand on Trevor’s back giving him a reassuring nod.
“Are you sure?” Trevor scanned Maddox’s face for any discomfort.
“I’m sure.” Maddox gave him a smile and nod. Trevor nodded and pressed a soft kiss to his cheek and reluctantly stood up and glared at Jack as he walked past.
Maddox patted the spot next to him and Jack hurried and sat down.
“I am so so sorry Maddi. God i never thought about the impact my words could’ve had on you.” Jack tearfully got out, “I am not ashamed that you are bisexual, i do not care who or what you like you are always still my brother.” Jack gently cupped his little brother’s face, “And i will forever be sorry that i made you ever feel that i wouldn’t be supportive of you.”
Maddox jaw wobbled not realizing how much he wanted to hear these words from Jack, before Jack said something all those years ago the two were each others best friends and attached to each others hips and sadly they drifted as Maddox was so hurt and Jack thought it was just because of the distance.
“Hughes can like guys too. I said that because i was scared that if you were gay or bisexual and it came out how much it could hurt you, i just wanted you to have a easy time when you joined the NHL, and i’m sorry the way i went through with that was with words that were not okay.” Jack sniffed feeling the tears running down his face.
“I’ve already forgiven you.” Maddox simply said he has for awhile, “It’s just gonna take a bit for us to go back the way we use to.” Maddox knew that realistically Jack would always support him but Maddox was always so scared of coming out that he was to scared to even think about that.
“However long it takes.” Jack quickly reassured and smiled softly.

Now that the season is over Trevor’s first act of business is to go see duck. She’s been begging for him, acting out way more than she ever does. She even packed her little “pack pack” aka back pack to take herself to trev because daddy wouldn’t.
oh baby duck. :(
she's had a rough year. jamie's not around as much and having to move away from her people. she's so young, she doesn't understand everything.
the tantrums are on the rise. she keeps telling jamie no and calling him bad mean daddy. she may or may not have head butted him in the core area and it really hurt. time outs are not working (he refuses to spank, he's not gonna hit his child).
But i can imagine that now that it’s the season, trevor’s gonna surprise them before they leave for the summer. (and/or before jamie has surgery).
and duck already has a pack pack packed with her meme (blanky), sheldon, wild wing, and one of jamie’s old phone that she uses as a toy. she is ready to go find him. jamie catches her trying to open the locked door (thankfully she hasn’t figured how unlock it yet), crying ensues.
but trevor is already there knocking on the door. he can hear her crying from his side of the door and it hurts his heart. he knocked harder hoping they would hear him.
jamie opens the door. he’s holding kinsley and her back is to trevor so she can’t see him.
“baby look who it is” jamie cooed smiling. duck shook her head no. she didn’t want to be bothered if it wasn’t mama. “come on chickie look”
“hey ducky” trevor spoke up so she could hear him.
“MAMA!” kinsley whipped her head around so fast and launched herself into his waiting arms, her sadness long forgotten now.

"You and uh, Mr. Cowboy," he nods towards where I just was with Riley, "are you two, are you dating him?" He finally spits out his question.

I stare at him. Blinking. Words, not forming. He sounded mad, or frustrated. I open my mouth to respond, and then close it again. He definitely sounded mad. He also looked mad or hurt. I couldn't tell.
"Quinn," I start. His eyes snap to mine. "Don't you think I would have told you if I had started dating someone?" I ask.
"I assumed so, but you two seem a lot friendlier than just friends," he says. Was he? There was no way he was jealous.
"Quinn," I say his name again. His eyes move back to mine once again. "That's part of my job, and you've known me forever, I just have chemistry with a lot of people, it makes it seem like there's something there when there isn't," I explain. This was new. Quinn had never acted like this after seeing me perform with someone, specifically a man before. I didn't know how I was supposed to handle this.
"So, you're not sleeping with him either?" My jaw drops, Quinn was never this abrasive, literally never.
"Quinn, what the hell is going on?" I finally ask him. "You're acting so unlike you it's freaky. You are literally indifferent to every single man I've even glanced at," I say.
"I," He starts but then stops. "Nothing, it's nothing." He glances at the clock on the wall. I then realize what time it is, they need to go. They have planes to catch to be back for practice. "Shit, I gotta go Sage," He's using my full name, what the fuck is happening, he normally just stuck with S.
"Quinn," I plead. "We're just not going to talk about whatever the fuck this is?"
"Sage, it's nothing, let's just leave it. It's fine," his voice is short and clipped. Nothing like his normal easy-going tone.
"It's obviously something," I point out. "You're acting weird, and not normal at all."
"I really do have to go," he says.
"So, we're just done with whatever this conversation is?"
"No, we're not, just," he sighs. "I have my bye week in like four days, I'm still coming to hang out with you, we can have this conversation then." I didn't even know what this conversation was, but I was starting to get an idea. Was it possible that my more than friends feelings weren't so one-sided after all?
"Promise?" I ask him.
"Promise, just promise me you're not going to start dating someone in the next week." I raise an eyebrow, but nod.
"Promise." I agree, not thrilled about the fact that this conversation was being pushed off, but accepting it anyway. Quinn pulls me into hug, and I can't help but tense up, not happy about how we were leaving things.
"I'll see you in a couple of days, and we'll talk, I promise." I just nod, and then just like that he's taking off, and I'm stuck standing in the same place trying to figure out what the hell just happened.
