New worst gaming experience adquired: the war simulator mission in fallout 3
#ugh that was horrible#like this was my introduction to the brotherhood of steel which apparently are a popular thing from the franchise idk#and so far i dont trust these guys but im following along to see what's their deal#and they're like 'hey enter in this pod for a wartime simulation' and i go in it to advance the quest#turns out the wartime simulation has the player playing as US soldiers fighting... chinese communists#the dialogue sounds very 'cold war' with terms like Reds and Commies#and like wow. what a way to completly deflate my interest#i already dont like war sims. I specially dont like war sims where i have to play as US soldiers.#specially not when the enemies i have to kill are faceless soldiers only described by the terms 'communist' and 'chinese'#super fucking uncomfortable#specially when your companion npc shouts 'dont mess with the US' every ten seconds#rinse and repeat for like. 30-40 minutes#but oh well. i finished the mission objective. So now I return to my wasteland adventure right? WRONG#in the simulation my commander is like 'well done! now do this' and starts talking to me about assembling a strike force or something#without even giving me an option to quit the simulation#and i was just. completly tuned out. I didn't even hear what the mission was I was just so dissapointed#luckily i then discovered i had a save just before the quest began#so i went to that save and then just. bolted out.#ugh it still tastes sour. what a disgusting experience.#fallout 3#hellothepixel plays

I hate when people dismiss the Phoebe thing as Scully simply having been jealous. She was his best friend first, and she did what any good friend would have
yeah it's pretty reductive, honestly. scully has been very protective of mulder since the pilot; the first 3 episodes of the show are literally her committing to him, holding a man hostage at gunpoint to find him, and cutting ties with her friends who make fun of him.
this was largely her arc in squeeze, after only having known him for a couple of weeks, as she defends him to colton multiple times
and, in the end, concludes that she would rather be “on the side of the victim” with mulder than climb the ladder with her classmates, and tells colton to fuck off the next time he’s rude about her partner
in ghost in the machine, she's disapproving of jerry from the moment they meet, knowing literally nothing about him except that he used to work with mulder
and she instantly recognizes the profile that jerry presents as mulder's work, whispering to him to ask if that's his, to which he replies "forget it, no" and then later fibs and says that jerry apologized for stealing it (once you tell your best friend you can't go back lol)
all of these examples pre-date her behavior in fire, and are episodes where she's put in situations navigating mulder around other men
y'all remember the first time she met krycek and just flat out refused to shake his hand lmao
i touched on this a little bit in my post on fire, but scully really was just so enthralled by him from the very beginning. she grew up on a military base with her navy captain father and two brothers, and her only relationships have been with older men in power.
she instantly is so aligned with mulder and that there's something different in him than she's used to, but she's aware that the openness and softness that she's so drawn to in him makes him more vulnerable, and she's desperate to protect it
in beyond the sea, the very next episode after fire, she screams at boggs that if mulder dies she'll gas him into hell herself, and boggs tells her that he's tasted the afterlife.
that it's a cold and dark place, and mulder's looking in on it now. she replies, "it might be a cold dark place for you, but it's not for mulder"
she knows him, and she's so moved by him and what he wants to do in the world. these are the values that she left medicine to follow.
"jealousy" honestly doesn't even compare to the kind of ferocious protectiveness that she feels towards him from the very start, she really doesn't trust anyone around him for anything. they can't possibly get it like she does, if they treat him that way.
he may not care if people call him names or steal from him or try to make him walk through fire, but he really is just her best friend. and she can't stand it.

whatever this setting is that im creating has a tag now (chaos energy au, im not feeling creative and it just needs Any Tag). some more thoughts about chaos energy and the fellas using it:
chaos energy is inherently destructive, and there's a reason its primary uses lie in powering machinery; organic bodies are easily damaged by it when trying to handle large quantities of it at once
chaos emeralds are almost uncomfortably warm to touch, not enough to burn but you won't enjoy handling them bare-handed
echidnas are the only species that naturally resist the effects of chaos energy, and are able to harness it without drawbacks. most of it likely has to do with them evolving in proximity of the emeralds, but there are no clear answers as to why
sol energy is still the baja blast of chaos energy and has similar if not the exact same properties
blaze can withstand both sol and chaos energy with no ill effects due to the presence of iblis in her heart. she's not aware of it, but he cycles the energy out of her system safely and without allowing it to harm her
shadow was hand-crafted to withstand chaos energy as well as possible, giving him the innate ability to chaos control with ease and utilize the energy's full potential with no real side effects
he's not exactly made of chaos energy, but rather has a resistance similar to echidnas that allows him use it freely
a super state inherently burns away at its host. this cannot be prevented through regular means, and the only one who resists this is blaze due to iblis' presence
sonic is not immune to the effects of a super state
he has built up some resistance over the several times he has entered a super state, but this is more akin to a numbness to the destructive effects rather than any true resistance
silver's super state during the fight against solaris nearly destroyed him, partially resulting to his generally unstable existence post-06
a super state's destructive effects can be hastened and amplified through repeated transformations in quick success, prolonged transformations, and the host already being in a weakened state from other causes and effects (i.e. cyber corruption, dark gaia's influence...)
#chaos energy au#yes sonic uses the emeralds irresponsibly and i would make it catch up to him if i could#knuckles could go super with no real problems. blaze and shadow are anomalous#silver would be incinerated if he ever tried it again#the shields in heroes that tails and knux get in the final story were definitely created by sonic#in an effort to protect them from the fucked up nature of a super form#him sharing the super form in 06 was a desperation move when it came to silver in particular#sonic doesn't care if it fucks him up and knows shadow can take it#and likely assumed silver was built different too. he wasn't. is even less so now#and as for frontiers sonic probably could've withstood the corruption mostly fine#if he didn't enter a super state every five minutes#it would've been uncomfortable and unfun but he could have taken it at least for a longer time#but you know. you keep burning yourself away and you do it over and over again and corrupt yourself some more in between#it's not good for you

went to go clothes shopping today and i got the cuntiest misa-esque dress for like $8 at the thrift store <3
#it’s covered in hearts and it’s strapless w a low lace-up back and the skirt is short and poofy but it’s sewn at the edges so that the#skirt is like a sphere-ish shape that holds fairly well and i should prob just draw it so what i’m saying makes sense but it is super cute#and i also got some jeans which is new for me i’ve not worn jeans since. um. i think the last time i wore jeans i was. idk. before#i started dressing myself? so under 5 maybe? idk pants feel really restricting to me and jeans esp that’s why i’m always wearing skirts#but i feel up to it rn bc i’ve always thought they were cute and also i think i’m comfortable enough in my skin to do so which i think it’s#usually the opposite for ppl they like pants and are afraid of dresses bc they’re uncomfortable/self conscious/whatever but for me#skirts have always been a safety blanket and they are so comfortable but sometimes skirts are just not practical so i need to like#get comfortable wearing pants and i tried doing it a couple years back but i was like in the midst of an eating disorder so that didn’t go#down well but i’m cool now i’m chill abt things and wearing skirts all the time makes ppl peg me as fem and i’m like ahhhhh stop she/her-in#me when i’m obvi in femboy mode or like when i’m being androgynous but i happen to be wearing a skirt w my outfit it’s annoying#anyway it took me two fucking hours to figure out what size i was bc skirts u don’t really have a size bc u just need it to fit ur waist#and ur golden but pants are so complicated and i have wide hips and thick thighs and it took me foreverrrr to find the right size#but i did and now i will never have to do all of that ever again <3 bc it was stressful every second that i wasn’t looking in the mirror#and making bedroom eyes at myself <3

That was an eventful two days
#I had a better time at the Waterparks concert#Noah was great#buuuut#I was on the barricade#I had my cousin hold onto my spot while I grabbed some merch and he didn’t hold onto the barricade so when I got back there were like three#rows of people in front of me#tall people too#and I got a ticket for my friend who wound not being able to go#and my brother who took us didn’t wanna go so I completely wasted $25 on a ticket#and it just Sucks that I spent so much money on ticket and got there super early just to be shoved way back when I LITERALLY had the front#there was this rude entitled lady who made everyone move for her son#he only knew tx2 but stayed up front the whole time#(she also took a spot right on the barricade too)#I was just really upset about how it didn’t go according to my plan and I kind of had a panic attack. like. a really fucking long one#and I had my vip bag + merch with me and everyone was stepping on it (no one was even playing?) and they fucked up my poster#but yeah I pretty much had a 2 hour long panic attack my ribs hurt now from hyperventilating (leaving the pit wouldn’t have helped)#the vip part was still good#I met Noah again he remembered me he did great it was just the people around me#oh I also like fucked up my knee#but that’s cause two concerts in a row hurt I think someone kinda accidentally kicked in a mosh pit and the first venue the ground had a#slight tilt to it. so it was kinda uncomfortable after a few hours#Waterparks#noahfinnce#concert#tx2#music
