I watched a video essay on JJBA and queer subtext and saw people talking about Dragona in the comments so I looked into it and found an interesting claim I thought I could shed some context on.

While I haven't read part 9 yet (watching stone ocean rn), people are saying that either A. Dragona can't be genderqueer or B. Jodio does not respect her identity because he calls her brother.

My boyfriend's older sister is non binary, uses they/them and changed their name. He still calls them his sister because that is what they said was okay to use and he respects and uses every other part of their identity. I am also nb and use they/them but when I am able to come out to my siblings I'll also still have them call me their sister.

Being genderqueer doesn't mean you can't be okay with terms that are associated with a particular gender. While I don't know everything about the character and she could be cis and non-conforming, using Jodio's use of brother is a weak argument against her identity.
