Stand there like a ghost Shaking come the rain She'll open up the door And say, "Are you insane?"
Say it's been a long six months And you were too afraid to tell her what you want
And that's how it works That's how you get the girl
And then you say "I want you for worse or for better I would wait for ever and ever Broke your heart, I'll put it back together I would wait for ever and ever"
And that's how it works That's how you get the girl And that's how it works That's how you get the girl
Remind her how it used to be With pictures in frames of kisses on cheeks Tell her how you must've lost your mind When you left her all alone and never told her why
And that's how it works That's how you lost the girl
And now you say "I want you for worse or for better I would wait for ever and ever Broke your heart, I'll put it back together I would wait for ever and ever"
And that's how it works That's how you get the girl And that's how it works That's how you get the girl
And you know That I don't want you to go
Remind me how it used to be Pictures in frames of kisses on cheeks And say you want me
And then you say "I want you for worse or for better I would wait for ever and ever Broke your heart, I'll put it back together I would wait for ever and ever
And that's how it works That's how you get the girl That's how it works
And that's how it works That's how you get the girl That's how it works!
And that's how it works That's how you get the girl Get the girl! That's how it works
And that's how it works That's how you get the girl And that's how it works That's how you get the girl
That's how it works That's how you got the girl

Imagine an AU where Yasmine doesn't dance around the point for 5 seasons and actually fucking TELLS Moon she's In Lesbians with her after Moon breaks up with Piper. Imagine Yasmine not being so cripplingly terrified of her own sexuality that she jumps into the world's most shallow mutual beard relationship to try and hide her feelings. Imagine Yasmine standing in the pouring February rain outside Moon's door, hands full of strawberry heart candy boxes, and bouquets bursting with hyacinth, flax, hydrangea and white rose, and even a whole fucking organic raspberry smoothie, however the hell she managed to fit that in there.
Imagine Yasmine spilling her heart out, saying she only ever lashed out at Moon at the Canyon party because she was gutted at the thought her best friend--the girl she allowed her to know her in ways most could never dream of--would pick some stupid-haired stranger over her. Imagine her eyes growing damp, and her thanking the powers that be that she was already dripping all over Moon's porch too much for her friend to notice a little extra moisture. Imagine Moon chastising her, gently but firmly. Telling her she's going to get sick if she stands out in the soaking wet cold for much longer.
And then Moon ushers her inside, dries her off with a fluffy paisley-print towel. Wraps her in blankets and sits her on the couch. Gets them blunts to numb out the pain of two broken hearts.
When Moon flicks her lighter, Yasmine's phone screen lights up too. A concerned text from her mom, fretting over her driving in the storm. Understandable--Yasmine doesn't have the best driving record on the clearest of days.
Moon notices Yasmine's lockscreen is a picture they took ages ago. Freshman year, a few weeks after they started getting adventurous in the back of the Range Rover. Squeezed together in a mall photo booth, Yasmine's lips squashed against Moon's cheek. Yasmine's eyes shut in sleepy happiness, her beam so big that her one visible dimple was widened into a little crater.
That kind of simple joy seemed so distant now. Something from a past life, long since torn apart by Yasmine's ego and cruelty and ruthless drive to make it to the top. Her terror of irreparably falling from grace if people knew who she really was. Who she truly loved.
But maybe she and Moon can have it back if Yasmine puts on her big girl panties and sucks it up. Grows some balls. (Or...lady balls. Whatever.) Admits she acted like a conceited bitch, and took the one person for granted who was prepared to follow her almost to the ends of the earth. Tell Moon that half a year without her interwoven into Yasmine's life as tightly as a French braid was the hardest half a year Yasmine's ever had.
Because that summer had chipped away at Yasmine like a blunted carving knife. It sliced off little pieces of her every time she wondered if Moon was happy she was gone, or what Stupid Blue Mohawk could give that Yasmine couldn't.
Because that fall had eaten at Yasmine with a dull, persistent ache. Moon held her at arm's length, insisting on "just friends" while she swapped kisses with Piper in the hallway. A distance that felt like thousands of miles when Yasmine had once been so close that she could feel soft, aloe-apricot-lotioned skin against hers and smell lilac, lily of the valley, and hazelwood musk wreathing around her.
And Yasmine is done missing out on the beautiful things in life because she's too busy living in fear of what others think.
"I want you," she says. "For better, for worse, whatever. Whatever the future brings, I want to face it with you. And if that means--if that means you need me to wait for you, I will. If you need a while before you can be with someone like that again, then I'll be there when you're ready. Because I love you, and I'm tired of worrying about people not accepting it. Because I don't fucking care anymore."
And maybe it's the blunt talking--or the sugar from all the candy their munchies made short work of--but it feels like the next second, Moon is kissing her a thousand times harder than she used to.
"And I don't give a fuck about my dad's wedding," Yasmine finds a way to squeeze out, long after their limbs (and mouths) are entangled on Moon's bed. "All that asshole ever does is give me shit about how I don't have a boyfriend, so he can suck it. I'm taking you to junior prom."
Moon brightens. "Really?"
"Uh, yeah. And I'm gonna rent us the best limo. And take you to the fanciest dinner. And get you a corsage that makes everyone else's look like they dug them out of the garbage."
Then Moon laughs and leans into her, and god, she missed this. "Well, then I look forward to it."
And just like that, Yasmine's future is a vast, majestic, and insurmountable thing, as bright and gleaming as the ocean on a sunny day. And as it washes over her, one salt-spray day at a time, it seems to bring one nice surprise after another.
There are dances to be had, pressed into each other in shimmering gowns and screaming when their favorite songs come on. There are quiet spots to be found, up on secluded hills with their arms circling one another's shoulders as they look over that ethereal blend of rolling city lights and faint stars. There are beaches to be walked, manicured hand in manicured hand.
And sure, maybe Yasmine will get a little bit disinherited along the way. Old-fashioned parents had a way of not understanding these kinds of things.
But it'll all be worth it if it ends with her getting the girl.

HIIIII YASMOON WE ARE SO FUCKING BACK FOR REAL THIS TIME
With...BRAND NEW CONTENT!!!
I realized I've been making these girls A Thing for the last 2 Valentine's, and I ain't about to break my streak now!!! Besides, I haven't posted YasMoon moodboards in like 5 million years. I was getting funky little lesbian collage withdrawal </3
Hilariously, I actually made this moodboard sometime like. Last spring??? And I remember being like "wow!!! This would be a really cute February/Valentine's Day post!!! Too bad I'm probably going to want to put it on the tumblr it way before then in an impulsive, YasMoon-moodboard-posting frenzy :(" BUT THEN!!! Miracle of miracles, I guess, and my life dissolved into such utter pandemonium in the next several months after I made this that I simply did not manage to post this bad boy before next Valentine's Day rolled around. So...all according to plan??? Mission accomplished???
And then. AND THEN. I STILL didn't manage to post it before midnight on the National Love Day itself ^^; Ahhhh uhhhhh just ignore that ^^;
Utterly unashamed of how pink and cutesy and fluffy this ended up being. That's just what hyperfemme lesbians are like on Valentine's, what can I say!!! Although looking at this thing always makes me hungry. God, I want those candy hearts and those smoothies so bad ;_____; I also would like a cute girlfriend to sit on a hill with and overlook the city lights and a cute girlfriend whose manicured hand I can hold on the beach, but that is neither here nor there. Also a much less immediate and important desire than those candy hearts. I'm going to hit up them discount candy deals anD FIND THOSE LITTLE CANDY HEARTS DAMMIT I NEED THEM
YASMOON TAG LIST MY BELOVEDS @multifandom-lesbian09 @karatecaulfield @themasterusersblog @ficusin @gemini-sensei @elisiassideb1tch ask and ye shall receive, welcome to the taglist and also a club of the coolest and sexiest people on planet earth 💗🧡🤍 YASMOON NATION RISE UPPP
As always, moodboard pic credits available upon request! If you're curious, the Yasmine and Moon pic I used here comes from some behind-the-scenes pictures of Hannah and Annalisa from Season 5 :3

_________________________
Warm water washes over your tight muscles, a sigh escaping your lips as you knock your head against the shower wall. It was the end of busy season in the office and that meant late nights at the office and the later you came back to your apartment. You were home even later than usual, needing a gym stress release. For now, you relish in the way your new shampoo lets out a calming scent of lavender.
As you step back into the water to wash it away, humming to a song that’s been stuck in your head for the past week, an unnerving noise beats its way into your bathroom. What sounds like a jackhammer beating against your front door sends your eyes shooting open and all of your shampoo flooding into them.
“Fuck!” you yell out, trying to desperately rub the suds out of your stinging eyes as the pounding continues on.
You're blind as you try to step out of the tub, somehow yanking the shower curtain away and finding your hanging towel. Roughly, you rub the fabric against your face, trying to find the wall but end up taking a step too far. Your slick foot slips on the tile and you reach out for anything to stop your rapid descent to the ground.
As the pounding ceases for a moment, you hear the plinking of the curtain rings popping off the shower rod until the entire rod crashes down to the floor. It sounds like an explosion as the caddy is hit and tumbles to the bottom of the tub. With eyes still stinging, you squint at the bright screen of your phone trying to see if anyone texted or called you. Seeing nothing but your boring lockscreen, the pounding from the door comes again with unrelenting force.
“Jesus christ!” you shout out, stumbling out of the steamy bathroom as you try to pull a shirt over your head and yank up your shorts.
Your body is still soaking wet, shirt halfway tucked into your crooked shorts as you drop the towel in the hallway. Wet feet smack down the hall as you jog towards the door, worried that it’s about to collapse in with the force behind it. Reaching it, a puddle accumulating at your feet, you peek through the peephole.
You’re expecting a drunken neighbor, the cops or your dumbass friends but all you see is a complete stranger through the glass. As you see their fist rise up again to attack your door, you turn the lock and nearly rip the door off its hinges.
“Hello! Can I fucking help you?!”
The woman in front of you cringes at your harsh tone, staring at you in disbelief, “Who the fuck are you?!”
You clench your face at this stranger wondering the same thing. If you’d met this woman before you would've immediately recognized her, she wasn’t someone you would’ve forgotten. With deep emerald eyes and auburn hair that framed her face so perfectly, jeans that hugged her waist snuggly and rings that adorned her fingers. You would’ve remembered if those rings had slapped you.
“It’s midnight! Who the fuck are you and why the hell are you pounding on my goddamn door?”
The woman leans in slightly to look into your apartment but you quickly break her line of sight with your glowering face, crossing your arms as she looks at the door. You watch her brows rise and her shoulders deflate,
“Fuck. This is apartment 15.”
You nod slowly, “Yeah. Do you know how to read numbers?
If an apology was on her lips, it’s the furthest thing from her mind when you start to irritate her, “Hey, fuck you! It was a mistake!”
Untucking your soaked through shirt, you shake your head in your own irritation, “If that’s what you call an apology, I pray for whoever ends up with you.”
She yanks her phone from her purse and glares at you, “Yeah, I’m sure your pick up game is great, jackass.”
Tapping your foot as you wait for her to leave so you can rinse the remaining sting from your eyes, you watch as she puts her phone up to her ear. She stands there, eyes glancing over to you as both of you remember to glower at each other.
“Seriously,” you start, watching her roll her eyes and clench her jaw, “you were standing in front of my door. You couldn’t see the fucking number?”
“Hey! Can you shut up! I’m trying to -.” she gives a fake smile as if the person on the other line can see her, voice rising slightly from the rude tone she’d taken with you, “Hey, Nat. No, no, everything is-.”
“Come get your damn friend before she gets the cops called on her!”
“Shut up!” Wanda snaps at you, her middle finger nearly smacking you in the face as you step back towards the threshold.
As she talks to her friend, you eye the door from across the hall opening and your always angry neighbor stomping out. You grimace, seeing him in only in his boxers but nearly laugh when you see the distraught face on the woman in front of you.
“Will you two shut the fuck up!” your neighbor's voice bellows across the hall, “Take it outside or in there! Some people have to get up early, fuck!”
His door slams shut, thankfully taking him with it but you’re quickly lunging forward. It seems the woman is in a violent mood and starts to stomp over there to give his door a piece of her mind, too. You grip her arm, quickly turning her and pushing her into your apartment before she actually does get the police called on her.
“Okay,” she whips around, shoving you away as she hops over the puddle you’ve left all over the floor, “You can stop touching me, freak.”
You raise your hands with a mocking face, smacking your towel on the ground as you slide it along to try and clean up the water. The woman stands in the middle of your kitchen, talking quietly on the phone as you grumble to yourself how this was just the perfect way for your holiday weekend to start. There’s a brief moment of silence and you hear your calendar flip, pulling your attention to see her frowning at it.
“Oh shit, that’s right. You were leaving earlier, right?”
Gently, you hang your towel on the island stool and watch as she pins the phone between her cheek and shoulder, playing with her fingers in a nervous manner, “Right, no it’s totally cool! Please, I can take care of myself. Yeah, I’ll see you on Wednesday!”
Her cheery voice doesn’t match the worry on her face as the call ends and her phone clatters onto your counter, “Fuck.”
You smack your hands against the stool, “Figured out which door you’re supposed to slam on, now?”
You regret saying that only a little bit, your eyes are still stinging.
“I’m sorry. Is that what you want to hear right now?” she glares at you, shaking her head with a sigh.
You give a small shrug as you rest your hands on your waist, noticing that your shorts are still crooked, “Doesn’t hurt.”
The woman bites against her nails, “Whatever, what’s the closest hotel?”
“Do I… do I look like a Yellowbooks? You have a freakin’ smartphone right there.”
Her hand juts out to the visible city skyline from your still opened window, “But you live here.”
Sighing, you take a moment to grow up and realize that past this angry, sailor mouthed persona, she’s in need of help.
“Well, given that it’s a holiday week you’re going to find overbooked hotels or extremely overpriced rooms.”
She groans, obviously not the answer she was looking for, “Well, I don’t really have a choice right now.”
You watch her for a moment, typing into her phone as she tries to find somewhere to stay. The city is crowded with tourists right now coming to see the beginnings of Christmas lights and the light dusting of snow before the blizzards hit for winter. Glancing back at your couch, you let out a soft groan as you rub your forehead.
“Do you want to stay here for the night?” your question nearly has you pulling it back when you realize how weird it is.
The weirdness is confirmed when her green eyes stare, her body subconsciously leaning further away from you, “You’re asking if I want to stay here? A total stranger’s apartment? After we just had a screaming match out in the hallway.”
Tapping your finger against the counter, you glance over to the woman as she keeps her thumb hovering over her contact list, “I like an unoriginal color. I drive a type of car to a certain job I work at. And I like certain foods a lot. Ta-da.” you expand your arms with a slight shake to your limp hands, “Now I’m not a stranger.”
Those green eyes roll in her head but not in irritation and you feel the way the corner of your lip rises at the sigh, “Well, at least we know you have a sense of humor.”
Nodding in agreement, you reach across the counter and hold out your hand, “My name’s Y/N.”
She glances down at your hand before responding, “Wanda.”
She takes your hand with a heavy grip, giving a professional shake but nothing about it feels professional. Her hands are soft in yours, wrapping around yours like a puzzle piece snapping into place. There’s an electricity at the tip of your fingers as you stare into green eyes that feel like you’ve known for years.
“It’ll be just like an AirBNB. The couch pulls out into a bed,” you point behind you as you give a quick tour, “I’ve got clean sheets and towels. Warning, I do get up at five am though.”
You watch her for a moment ponder the idea of just dishing out the money for her own place. Smirking, she finally notices your arched brow and lets free a soft grin.
“You’re lucky. Tomorrow’s the start of my holiday, so I’ll sleep in.”
Wanda nods slowly as she looks around your place with more scrutiny than before, “Thank you… I uh, I need to get my bag. Don’t lock me out or we’ll have to play all of that over again.”
You give a grin and nod your head as you watch her walk out the door and close it behind her. Smacking your hands against your face, you let out a low groan. Now you had a guest, who you barely knew her name, staying in your apartment when all you wanted to do was gorge on pies while catching up on your shows. You go over the whole scene again in your head as you start to set the couch up for her bed.
Never in a million years would you have invited a complete stranger into your apartment. You would’ve pointed them to the nearest motel and forgotten about them by the time the sun came back over the horizon. Maybe it was the helpless look she had on her face when her plans fell through. Maybe you were feeling a bit lonely. Either way, you didn’t have time to think as the door creaked open and you flicked out the sheets.
Quietly, Wanda sets down her suitcase as she looks at you, “Oh, I could’ve done that, you know.”
“You don’t know where the sheets are,” you kneel down as you tuck the sheets in, “Besides, you’ve been traveling and it’s no big deal.”
Standing up, your eyes fall to hers and you both quickly find something else to look at. You point at specific objects around you, “TV remote is straightforward. Only one bathroom… and I need to fix the curtain real quick. Towels there, blankets there, sex dungeon in there,” you point towards your office.
Wanda holds her jacket close to her body, letting out a huff at your joke as she stands up and out of the way from you, “Tell me your rate and I can send it to you.”
You nod, knowing you won’t, “Is your friend out of town?”
She cocks a brow towards you, “This is where I tell you ‘no’ so you don’t kill me, right?”
“Probably,” you chuckle and flick on the lamp as you switch off the main light, “Goodnight, Wanda.”
As you shut the closet door in the hallway, Wanda calls out softly and you turn much faster than you should’ve, “Yes. I am all alone in a big, unfamiliar city.”
Nodding, you rap your knuckles softly against the wall next to you, “It’ll be quiet around the city tomorrow with everyone preparing to celebrate. Could give you a tour minus the tourist traps?”
Your eyes meet in the dim light and you're thankful she can’t see the heat on your face, “That would be… nice. Goodnight, Y/N.”
____________________________
It was a lie. You gave a tour but Wanda insisted on the tourist traps. And of course the lines were extremely long to see the sights and that meant having to fill the awkward air with something. The two of you slowly got to know each other, what you both did for a living and where your family’s lived.
Eventually, you convinced her to trust you and pulled her away from the tourist traps and brought her to the true parts of the city. The correct street carts to stop out, the corner shops where the owners knew you by name and the cats that let you pet them. Wanda was amazed at the hidden murals of the city and you found yourself staring a second longer at her smile when you brought her to your favorite people watching bench as she munched on a slice of pizza.
The day was starting to come to an end and you knew the perfect way to close it out. Jumping in with a pub crawl that the tourist’s loved to be a part of and you knew this particular crawl would bring you to your favorite bars. It was a night of chain drinking, never an empty glass in your hands as you leaned against the bar as the place was filled with tone-deaf singing.
That tone-deaf singing followed you both back as you stumbled down your apartment hallway, singing a horrible rendition of a beautiful song. Wanda’s laugh explodes out as she leans against the wall, breathing out carefully as she tries to keep her feet under her. Your foot doesn’t stop tapping as you try and find your keys, still mumbling the song as Wanda picks up the chorus loudly.
Finding your keys in one of Wanda’s souvenir bags, you shove it into the lock and knock it back before the door behind you can open and your neighbor shouts at you again. You shush Wanda with a laugh as you both stumble inside. Wanda throws her purse onto her bed as you drop her bags at the counter and watch her make a beeline to the fridge,
“God, I’m starving!”
She flings the door open and shoves your food around, bottles clinking together as you throw your jacket at the hook by the door and watch it crumble on the floor. You hear the sound of success as Wanda turns around excitedly with a meat and cheese platter.
“Fuck. Yes.” she tells you, dropping it onto the counter and giving the fridge a kick to close the door.
You grab the crackers from the cabinet, tearing open the plastic a little too hard and watching as they shoot out around the kitchen. Only a few fall onto the counter and as you look at Wanda, you know it’s over as you both fall into a rib aching laughing attack.
The night is filled with drunken stories and slurred words as you both eat stacked crackers and wash it down with more alcohol. You had already gotten in trouble trying to drink a glass of water, which Wanda promptly switched out for a bottle of beer.
As you stuff a skyscraper building of meat, cheese and crackers into your mouth, you see Wanda digging back in your fridge. Ignoring her snooping, you stumble over to the living room and snatch up the remote to see what’s playing this late at night, or this early in the morning. Glancing to your right when you hear an odd hissing sound, Wanda is chuckling quietly to herself in the kitchen.
Her eyes glance up to you and the heat you normally feel in your chest is replaced when you see the mischievous twinkle in her eyes, “C’mere.”
“Oh no,” you point at her, seeing the monstrosity of meat and a mountain of cheese spray coming towards you, “Get that away from me.”
“Just try it!” she pleads with you, grabbing your wrist quickly as she tries to keep you close, “I swear, it’s good!”
You shake your head and narrow your eyes, “You haven’t even tried it!”
Holding up your hands, you feel the back of your thighs smack against your other couch as she leans forward to try and stuff it into your mouth. Your socks slip out from underneath you and you both fall over the armrest, finding a soft landing on the cushions below you. The cracker falls from her hands and smacks fake cheese down into your rug but neither of you look towards it.
“That’s going to stain.”
Wanda hums quietly, her hand roughly smacking against your cheek, “I’ll clean it up.”
As soon as your eyes flick down to her lips, they’re on yours. It’s everything a first, drunken kiss is supposed to be. Messy and nothing but teeth and tongue as you both deepen the kiss as soon as your lips touch. Her tongue massages yours as your hand rises up beneath her shirt and you hear a soft moan come from Wanda. Her hands run down your body and you can feel the soft tugging on your belt loops.
Something clicks inside of your mind and you realize where you are and who you’re with. Your eyes snap open and you drop your head back down onto your pillow. Wanda breathes out heavily, slowly opening her eyes to look down at you.
“If you stop, I’m going to have to clean that up. And I really don’t want to.”
Swallowing the knot in your throat as you try to keep your eyes on hers and not her lips, you shake your head, “We’re drunk. Which means I’m not having sex with you.”
Wanda groans, sitting upright as she still straddles your body, “Are you this much of a party pooper at parties?” You can hear now, the slurring of her words and the heavy fog on your brain, “Just kiss me.”
As she goes to grip your shirt, you gently grab her wrists and hold them out away from you, “You were worried about me being a serial killer 24 hours ago.”
“But-,”
You shake your head, not letting her have an inch in your decision, “Ask me tomorrow.”
This intrigues her enough to stop her thinking about right now, you watch as her brows raise slightly, “Tomorrow?”
Wrapping your arms around her waist, you pick her up and drop her giggling self onto her bed. She flicks her boots off of her feet and haphazardly curls up in the blankets, tangling herself in them as her eyes are already shut by the time you get to turning off the television and stumbling down to your own room.
_____________________
Listening to the coffee quietly brew in the background, you squat quietly next to a sleeping Wanda with a spray and damp cloth in hand. Grimacing at how loud your knees pop in the quiet, you glance up and see that she’s still sleeping. You start to toil away at the fake cheese that stayed overnight on your rug, muttering to yourself that you’re never going to get that neon orange color out of the fabric.
“You look like you could use a hand?”
You throw the rag at the unsightly stain, resting your arm on your knee as you glance up at Wanda. She sits herself up on the bed, reaching out for the glass of water you put on the end table. Spraying more of the cleaner on the rug until it starts to foam, you give a small smile,
“How’re you feeling this morning?”
She raises her brows excitedly, “You were right. That drink you swear by? I don’t even have a headache.”
Nodding, you press against your knee as you stand up and lean against the armrest of the couch. Flicking on the television, you both watch the morning news for a moment as you both wonder how much of last night the other remembers. When you look to Wanda with your arms crossed in front of your body, you watch a soft sigh blow through her lips as you see last night’s memories open up to her.
“Last night, I’m sorry if I made-”
You shake your head, twisting the tip of the cleaning spray around and around, “Flattered, really. If it was any other time, I would’ve said yes. But I couldn’t exactly slip away in the morning like I usually do.”
She hums, “It is tomorrow though.”
With a chuckle, you chew on the inside of your lip when you see the smirk on her face. Pulling your phone from your sweats, you glance down at the glowing screen, “Well now, I think you might be right.”
Her green eyes make an exaggerated roll, “Screw you.”
“So what,” you start as you clear your throat and clasp your hands in front of you, “We do this and then what exactly? You leave the city and never come back again?”
Wanda clenches her brows at you, “Why can’t I come back?”
With a scoff you hold out your hands at the obvious answer, ‘Because every time you come back you’ll remember me and you’ll want to come back to this apartment.”
Wanda leans back against the couch, shaking her head as she looks away from you and towards the television, “You are certainly giving yourself quite a reputation to think I’d remember you.”
Leaning forward, you wiggle your brows slightly, “You could fall in love with me.”
Her laugh is so loud and powerful that she nearly drops her glass of water as she grips her side. You furrow your brows, knowing that you were making a joke but feeling a bit wounded.
“I’ll block your number,” she chuckles, catching her breath as she wipes away a tear from her eye, “Oh wait, I don’t even have your number.”
Thinking carefully, you watch her studying eyes as she chews on her lip. You count the remaining days of your holiday in your head, asking Wanda when her flight home is scheduled. She eyes you carefully, glancing down at her phone and giving you the date. You nod, only about three more days left.
“What if the sex is bad and then we have to spend the next three days in awkward company?”
Wanda points at you, “Now you’re just scared you won’t be able to meet my expectations after all of your gloating.”
You stare at her, watching as she stretches out with a soft groan and kicks away the blankets from her body. Her eyes glance over, grinning at your staring eyes as she climbs up to her knees and sits back on her feet, “Besides, what if it’s good and we get to use up all those days doing something… productive? A Thanksgiving week stand?”
Shaking yourself free of her pull, you wave her away and walk towards the finished coffee. The bed squeaks out and you listen to the soft padding of her feet coming to stand beside you as you grab an extra mug from the cabinet. As she takes the coffee pot from your hands, fingers skimming over each other as she lets out a mischievous giggle.
“Fine. How about whoever caves first has to buy the other an extravagant dinner?”
You stare at her, dropping the spoon you had hovering over your mug with a loud clatter, “You want to make having sex a competitive game?”
“What?” Wanda shrugs as she watches you try so hard not to look at her, “Is someone scared?”
You could easily ignore her taunting words, maybe even leave her in the middle of the city to find her way back on her own. But the moment she slowly puts her hands up towards her shoulders to make wings, you clench your jaw.
“Don’t,” you warn her, watching the way her eyes widen as she slowly flaps the fake wings.
“Is someone a… chicken?” You can’t ignore the horrible clucking she makes, following you into the living room as you try and listen to the recap of last night’s sports games. It’s quiet for a moment as you clench your eyes, feeling her warm breath wash over the back of your neck.
“Wanda,” you start but then she lets out a loud cluck next to your ear and you shoot off of the couch, “Alright! Alright. The moment you kiss me, you’re buying me a five course dinner!”
Wanda smiles triumphantly, waltzing over to grab her coffee. Leaning over the back of the couch, you point at her,
“No cheating!”
But there was definitely, absolutely cheating in those remaining days together. The day would start out calm, Wanda allowing you the peaceful morning to read your paper and you allowed her to scroll through work emails. You thought it would be a fair fight as she walked away to get ready for the day.
Then as you stood to double check you had the museum tickets, Wanda walked out of the bathroom with nothing but a towel on. You froze at the entrance of the hallway, eyes noticing the small towel she chose to try and wrap around her body. The sight of her legs as your eyes ran up them, the towel so teasingly high up on her thighs. As your eyes continued to climb, resting for a moment on the cleavage made from the tightness of the towel, you saw the teasing sparkle inside of green eyes. All you could do was choke out a, “Cheater” as you forced yourself to walk away and listen to her taunting laugh.
You had your revenge of course. Taking a moment for yourselves as you went to the gym and Wanda stayed behind. You came back, pouring sweat and casually telling her about some of the odd people you saw. Nonchalantly, you pulled off your sweat soaked shirt and hooked your thumbs into your shorts. Stretching with a quiet groan, you leaned back as your thumbs gently pulled the fabric down. She quickly excused herself, blaming it on the way you smelt but you just smirked.
It was like that for most of the days. Both of you stealing what looked like innocent touches and looks. Tonight, Wanda casually asked you to zip up her dress before heading out for a show and you rested your hand on her lower back as you stopped for conversation with some friends. You thought that was going to break the camel’s back, sliding your thumb against the thin fabric of her dress as she gravitated towards your warmth in that cold lobby. She probably thought she nearly had you on the breaking point too when she rested her hand on your upper thigh during the show. Somehow, you both had more self control than you did during that drunken night together.
You both walk arm in arm down the apartment hallway, laughing about the idiocy of a couple who was kicked out of the theatre. Sliding around Wanda, with your hand on her hip to reach the door, you glance over at her with a grin as she asks,
“Still going strong?”
“‘Course,” you chuckle, swinging the keyring on your finger, “You?”
Wanda shrugs, pulling her shawl a little closer, “Cool as a cucumber.”
Clasping your hands around the keys, the hallway is filled with silence. She’s close to you, hand subconsciously reaching out to your jacket as your feet are turned towards her instead of the door. She isn’t waiting for you to open the door, she’s waiting for something else. And as you quickly lick your dry lips, you know you’re waiting for the same thing. You don’t think twice about it as you lunge forward at the same time she does.
Wanda’s hands slide through your hair as you grip her waist tightly and pull her against your body. It’s everything that an eager and sober kiss should be. The kiss starts off fast, lips smashing against each other as your eyes clench shut and your grip is fixed on her waist. Then something changes, the franticness in her moments slows and your vice grip changes to your arms wrapping around her gently. You can feel the softness of her lips on yours, the quiet sigh as her fingers glide against your skin.
Pulling apart to bring air into your burning lungs, you rest your forehead against hers and breathe. Her hands rest on your arms as you let a small smile form on your lips.
“You kissed me first,” you whisper.
Wanda shoves you backwards unexpectedly, your back hitting against your door with a chuckle, “The fuck I did!”
You point your finger at her, “You owe me my five course dinner anyways for cheating!”
“Cheating?! You were practically stripping in front of me!”
Your argument grows in the hallway as you both layout all of the ways the two of you cheated. As Wanda is on her fifth point, you hear the unmistakable creak of your neighbor’s door opening. Before he can even get a screaming word out, you hold out your hand as shove the door open,
“We’re going!”
You quickly push down Wanda’s middle finger meant for your neighbor’s face and throw her inside of your apartment. Her purse flies across the living room and falls onto the couch as she starts to hit you with her shawl. You hold up your hand, telling her to stop as you wrap the fabric around your wrist and yank it from her.
“Of all the days, you had to wait until the last day to kiss me? Now I don’t get that dinner.”
You roll your eyes, throwing the shawl at her face, “We didn’t even shake on it.”
“Ha!” Wanda points at you, “You didn’t deny kissing me first!”
You lean against your counter, pulling off your jacket, “We can just skip to dessert.”
Wanda sighs, using you as a balancing point as she takes off her heels, “You still owe me that dinner.”
Groaning, you wrap your arms around her waist as she hobbles and tries to take the last heel off. Smacking your chest to let her get it off, you chuckle and press a kiss against her neck. Between the kisses you press against her sensitive area, you speak,
“How about a deal.”
Wanda sighs, fingers starting to pull out your tucked in shirt, “Oh good, another competition.”
You lean forward, capturing her lips with yours and feeling the smile on her lips. Satisfied you’ve stopped her complaints you open your mouth but she rests her finger on your lips, “Careful. I’ll complain some more.”
“You pick the place,” you tell her, placing a soft peck on her fingertip, “And I’ll get you whatever you want.”
Wanda tilts her head in disappointment, “I leave before dinner tomorrow.”
“I know,” you chuckle, “What’s your apartment number again?”
She grins, “Are you going to come pound on my door at midnight?”
You shrug slightly as you pat softly against her back, “If you’d like me to, I can do some… pounding.”
“You’re horrible,” she laughs, lightly stabbing her heel into your chest, “But deal.”
__________________________
That was the only time you were invited to slam your fist against someone’s door at anytime of the day. Wanda left once the holiday ended and you were back to working in your office. It was different now though. Quiet nights alone were spent talking with each other and Wanda slowly going through her list of places she wanted you to take her.
You’re scrolling through her options now as you sit at your work desk, reading through the menus as your stomach growls. Quietly, your work phone buzzes next to your hand and you glance over at a familiar number but unsure who it belongs to. Answering the call, you continue scrolling,
“Y’ello?”
“Yellow?” the voice from the other side sends a warmth through your chest as you fall back into your chair, “Is that really how you answer your work calls?”
Chuckling, you glance around to make sure your boss is still in his office, “What do you want?”
“Excuse me, that tone? Well now I want to talk to your manager.”
Shaking your head, you just let out a hum and switch your browser tab when she finally calms her laugh, “I need to double check your address.”
As your eyes scan a website with an airplane on it, you raise your brow, “Don’t want to send the carolers to the wrong apartment? Cause I’m giving you the wrong address.”
Wanda giggles and you can practically see her biting against her lip, “I’m asking for Santa.”
“Oh, well in that case,” you grin and give her the address you have written down. Only it isn’t your address. There’s silence from the other line and you cock a brow, “Wanda?”
“That’s my address, doofus.”
You nod, “That’s where I want you to send the gift.”
Wanda groans, “Y/N, stop being a Scrooge. I’m getting you a-,” she stops and you hear her breath catch in her throat as your grin grows into a large smile “Don’t you joke about this with me. Are you actually coming!”
“Merry Christmas!” you laugh as you start to hear her ecstatic rambling on the other side of the phone.
“Oh my god, you’re coming. Oh my god, I have to clean… and bake. What cookies do you want?”
“Hey,” you try to break through to her and finally do when she stops listing cookies after the fifteenth option, “I won’t be flying in until Christmas day.”
And she never would’ve been able to hear the lie even if she tried. She made you choose at least five cookies for her to bake as you finished checking in for your flight later that night. Your bag was already packed and inside your car, ready for you to take off to the airport as soon as you were done working. It had only been a few weeks since you’d seen each other but you were practically bubbling up with excitement on the flight, you didn’t sleep a single second.
The trip to her apartment was simple and in the middle of the night, you prepared yourself. Smoothing out the ugly Christmas sweater you have on, pulling up your pants to show off the Christmas socks and pulling on a Santa hat, you slam your fist against her door. Double checking to make sure it was indeed her door.
“I’m coming!” Wanda shouts from inside but you keep pounding, “Jesus fucking christ!”
You chuckle when you hear her infamous sailor mouth and lean against the wall beside her door, your shoe slamming into the door. The door locks slowly come undone as she grumbles out, your hand blocking her peephole. As the door opens, the smell of freshly baked cookies comes wafting out and you only have a second brace yourself as Wanda almost instantly recognizes you.
“You’re fucking kidding me!” She yells out, throwing herself at you and slamming her lips onto you.
“God, you smell so good.” you whisper as you press your lips down her neck and breathe her in.
“And you smell like baby wipes,” she chuckles as she leans back in your grasp to really look at you.
“Long flight,” you chuckle, leaning over with her giggling body as you pick up your bag and step inside. Kicking the door shut, you glance around at the twinkling Christmas lights strewn around her apartment and a half decorated Christmas tree shoved into the corner.
She presses her hand against your eyes, “Don’t look, I’m not done yet.”
“I’ll just keep my eyes on you then,” you tell her, finding her lips for another kiss, clenching your brows when you finally start to smell the odd baby wipe smell on your skin, “Or maybe I’ll go take a shower.”
Settling her on the edge of the dining table, she nods in agreement, “With a helping hand?”
“Read my mind,” you mutter and the still tangled Christmas lights are forgotten for the moment.
The rest of the week leading up to and past Christmas was filled with a joy you hadn’t ever felt in your life. Stuffing way too many cookies in your mouth as you tried to get the star up onto the tree and groaning when Wanda pulled you to the couch for a nightly watch of some corny Christmas movie. Night strolls through the town to look at Christmas lights let you hold onto her hand for as long as you liked and you never wanted to let her go.
You found yourself growing more and more accustomed to living at her apartment. Listening to her talk in her office as you typed on your laptop. Making her lunch as you made yourself food and her giving you a peck as you placed it down next to her as she sat in a meeting.
It was an early Christmas miracle that she had come pounding on your door in the middle of the night.
Sighing as you wake up, you slowly roll over onto your back and bend your arm behind your head. Glancing over at Wanda, she’s already awake and quickly grabs your arm and pulls herself to you. She wraps her arms and legs around you, hugging you tightly as she nuzzles her nose against you.
“Do you have time to stay for breakfast?” she mumbles against your skin, pressing her lips against the marks she put on your skin last night.
Groaning as you reach over and look at the notification for your flight on your phone, you feel your heart beat a little faster when you see how close the boarding time is, “Depends. What’s on the menu?”
Her fingers climb up your body, “Me.”
You chuckle, “Leftovers from last night?”
Wanda is quick to retaliate as she slaps your arm hard, laughing as you wince at the stinging pain against your skin. Rolling over without warning, you squish her down onto the bed as she groans out. Lifting yourself up just gently, she squeezes her arm out from under you and gently rests it against your cheek.
“You make me happy. Really happy.”
You hum, leaning down and giving her a kiss, “You’re taking a shower first aren’t you?”
Wanda smiles, “There’s always an open invitation.”
Rolling back to your side of the bed, you sit yourself up and slowly start to stretch out your neck. From behind you, there’s the shuffling of items on her bedside table and then complete silence.
“Y/N?”
Humming as you quickly scroll through the news headlines on your phone, you yawn, “Yes, dear?”
Wanda comes quickly around the bed, standing in front of you and holding out the time on her phone, “Your plane leaves in an hour. You’re not leaving this evening.”
“I know,” you nod, placing your phone down gently and watching the confused look on her face.
“It takes an hour to get over there. You’re going to miss it!”
You grin at her, looking over at your still unpacked luggage and thinking about the request you sent to work for more time off. Not caring what the answer was because you weren’t going to be on that flight either way.
Wanda frantically looks around her, searching for any two shoes to get onto her feet. You stand up quietly, plucking out the one boot and one sneaker from her arms. Before she can protest, you place your lips on hers as you plant your feet. As far as you were concerned, this was the only place you needed to be.
“You’re going to miss it,” she repeats softly but sees the calm nod of your head and the way you stare at her.
“I know.”

217. "I love you just the way you are."
218. "We need to kick his ass, no questions asked. You in?"
219. "Hot chocolate and cuddles? Kisses?"
220. "You make me feel pretty."
221. "You'll always be my best girl."
222. "Never hide yourself from me."
223. "Babe! There's no toilet paper!"
224. "I'll never give up on you."
225. "Do you feel that shirt? That's boyfriend material."
226. "That prank went so wrong."
227. "Care to dance, my love?"
228. "AH! You're stuck with me!"
229. "You're too good to me."
230. "Is it that time of the month?"
231. "Can I braid your hair?"
232. "It's okay to have doubts, as long as you don't let them overwhelm you."
233. "Come here! I can't stand to be so far away from you!"
234. "I got you."
235. "I wanna fall asleep next to you every night and wake up every morning with you by my side."
236. "Stop, I need to finish this!"
237. "I just wanna binge watch The Office, but it's not the same without you."
238. "Because I care about you!"
239. "I just wanted to impress you."
240. "I love you even though your breath stinks right now."
241. "Did you just puke on me?"
242. "We should get drunk and do stupid things."
243. "I always know what you're thinking about, babe. You're like an open book!"
244. "Could you sing to me?"
245. "I, uh, could you... could you play with my hair, please?"
246. "Nooooo, don't leave! I'm cold!"
247. "I think you're suffering from a lack of vitamin me."
248. "A mistletoe? Really?"
249. "Will you join me, love?"
250. "I have feelings for you."
251. "You are the reason."
252. "Take my hand, I wanna show you something..."
253. "You have a lovely name."
254. "You're my everything."
255. "You do know a lot about my blushing schedule."

It’s been a few days since your date with Jisung and you haven’t seen him since. Was this something you brought upon yourself? Yes.
Dumbass...
You stared blankly at the ceiling, thinking about the last text you sent him. ‘Sorry, I think I caught a cold’? Why would you say that to him?! You were so focused on wallowing in shame that the sound of the doorknob twisting did not register in your mind at first.
“Y/N~! I’M BACK!” a feminine voice yelled out as you watched the door flung open all of a sudden. Forgot she’s coming back, you thought as the face of your beloved roommate entered your field of sight. “HELLO~! Oh…”
“Welcome back, Lia,” you greeted her unenthusiastically, staring at her without any expression.
“Girl,” she stopped, taking in the way your body was splayed limply on the créme-colored couch. “I didn’t realize I took your happiness with me.”
You scoffed, rolling your eyes. “Ha ha.”
Lia closed the door behind her, dragging in her large grey luggage. “Looks like I brought your sense of humor too. Do you want me to go back to Canada to find it?”
Groaning, you sat up, staring at her dead in the eye, while she laughed at her own joke. She struggled with bringing in her suitcase while mumbling about ‘how hilarious she is’ and that she should do standup comedy. Once she had successfully hauled her luggage through the cramped hallway, she pushed it to the corner of the living room before walking to where you were at. She plopped down beside you with a bounce, moving the throw pillow onto her lap.
“So why do you look like...that?”
“Boy troubles.”
“Boy troubles?!” Lia said in shock. “Wow, I never thought I’d hear that from you.”
Taking her words to slight offense, you glared at her, pouting. “What’s that supposed to mean?”
“Nothing! It’s just that—nevermind, continue!”
“Well, okay then... First off, Minho is a menace to society. Never go to a party with him,” you announced, adjusting your position without making any eye contact.
Your roommate chuckled. “What? Why start off like that?”
“It’s an important piece of information,” you waved her off, as if you were telling her to just listen and don’t ask questions. “So, I went to a party with him and Hyunjin a few weeks ago, right?”
“Yeah, how was it by the way?”
“Big. Seo Changbin is a rich motherfucker,” you deadpanned, snapping your neck to finally look at her. Meanwhile Lia laughed boisterously at your unexpected dryness.
“Anyways, Jinnie got DRUNK about thirty minutes later and Minho, being the dear friend he thinks he is, went off flirting with this dude with a red beanie, leaving me to babysit him.”
Lia interrupted. “Hold on, when do these “boy troubles” come in?”
You hushed her, covering her mouth with your foot. She swat your foot away from her face as you spoke. “Wait. I was getting there!” you complained. “So the red beanie dude Min was talking to, the one I mentioned earlier? I thought he was hot as hell, like if I wasn’t so busy dealing with a drunken Hyunie, I would’ve shoot my shot with him but nooo. Minho is a BITCH but it's okay, I still love him, especially since he’s the reason I have a thing now with that red beanie cutie.”
“Girl, really?! How did he do that?”
You sighed, jokingly scolding her, “Maybe if you didn’t interrupt me every damn minute, Julia, I would’ve finished my story faster.”
“It’s not my fault your storytelling skills are horrendous!” she huffed. “But sorry, I won’t interrupt now! Keep going!”
“Okay, so, after a while, I finally got Min to help me, which took like, another thirty minutes, I think? Then fast forward a little, that lazy bitch is driving us home, the drunk bitch is suffocating me with affection, and I’m just wondering why the hell those two are my best friends, but whatever. After Minho dropped me home, I wanted to text him to thank him for helping me wrangle Hyunjin, even though I forced him to, and I thought did, right?” you paused for a moment to see if Lia was still following along. After a subtle nod from her, you continued. “So I thanked ‘him’ then asked ‘him’ if he could give me that red beanie cutie’s number, which, to the total surprise of my dumbass, ended up being him.”
“Ooh...plot twist!” she randomly cheered, making you snort. “Sorry...I just had to add that!”
“It’s okay, that was the perfect commentary for that situation,” you giggled, adjusting yourself on the couch. “But yeah, fast forward again, and we’ve been hanging out, texting, and just recently, went on a date.”
“That’s great, Y/n!” Lia hugged you. She leisurely rocked you until she realized something was wrong with your story. She asked, abruptly letting go of you, “Hold on, why did you leave it at a good ending? Where’s the ‘trouble’?” Before you could answer, the sound of your notifications going off from your phone stopped you. You leaned over to see who texted you, picking it up.
(3) new message(s) from: Hannie Bear 🍯🧸
“Hannie Bear?” Lia giggled. “That’s such a cute nickname. Who’s that? Is that the boy you were talking about?” She proceeded to coo, shaking you around and making kissy noises.
You hushed her, cutely pouting, “Shut up, he gave himself that name.” You playfully pushed her face away, turning to the other side. You tapped on the notification banner to read it from your lockscreen.
Hannie Bear 🍯🧸: hey babe!
i noticed you didn’t come to class today either
are you still feeling sick baby? :( do you want me to come over?
“Huh? I didn’t know you were sick, Y/n,” Lia said slowly. You turned your head to see her looking over your shoulder, eyeing you suspiciously.
“Oh! Uh—That’s funny ‘cause—”
“Y/n, when was the last time you texted that boy?” You stayed quiet, avoiding eye contact with her. “Y/n?” she said sternly.
You sighed guiltily. “3 days ago…4 since I last saw him.” you mumbled, with the fuzz on your socks.
“3!?” she gasped, “Text that poor boy!” You hesitantly unlocked your phone, bringing your phone up to your face.
Me: Yeah, sorry Sung, I’m still kinda sick :( bleh
Please don’t come over! I don’t want you to get sick cause of me
Hannie Bear 🍯🧸: aww but i miss you :((
it’s okay. i won’t bother you now
just take care, okay? Get well soon!
i love you! ❤️
‘I love you’...There’s that stupid sentence again. Why does he keep saying that?
All of a sudden, your roommate pulled your arm towards her, forcing you to show your phone to her. She glared at the screen. “You are a terrible person, you know?” she commented after reading all your messages. You sighed, silently agreeing with her. “Why would you tell him you’re sick!?”
“I don’t know! I’m sorry!”
“Don’t apologize to me! Apologize to ‘Hannie Bear’! Tell him that you’re not sick!”
You spluttered, panicking. “NO! He doesn’t have to know that I’m not sick!” You lunged away from her to move your phone from her as far as you could. Lia payed no attention to your action, a bit confused with your reaction.
“Then why are you lying to him!? Are you avoiding him?”
“NO! I—Y-YES?! I DON’T KNOW ANYMORE!” you yelled, chucking your phone to her lap. You let out a heavy exhale, rubbing your face while you laid half your body down. Lia got up, locking your phone, and walked in front of you.
“Talk to me, Y/n,” she gently said. “What’s wrong? He seems like a nice guy.”
“He is,” you whispered. “God, he’s so fucking sweet and funny and considerate and—fuck. I don’t know…” She squeezed your arm, silently comforting you. You removed your hands from your face and sat up, looking at your sweetheart of a roommate with uncertain eyes. “Lia, I don’t know how to feel. I’m so confused! I think..everything happened so fast that... I-I’m scared...I don’t wanna fall in love with him. I don’t want to fall in love, in general. I-I’m not ready! I’m so scared that—”
“Listen,” she stopped you, moving to sit beside you again to wrap her arms around you. “I know that every single one of your past relationships weren’t the greatest. But that doesn't mean you should NOT fall in love with anyone anymore. I know it’s scary, but at least...try? And if you really don’t think it will work out, then please don’t lead him on like that. That’s just going to make the whole situation worse. It will only hurt more.”
You took a deep breath, calming yourself down. “You’re right. I’m sorry.”
Lia let go, leaving her hands on your shoulders. “You don’t have to talk to him today but please go to school tomorrow to talk to him, face to face. Deal?”
“Deal.” She brought you back to her arms, hugging you tighter and rubbing your back. You wrapped your arms around her figure with the same amount of urgency. The two of you stayed like that for a few sentences until she let go first.
“Thank you for being here for me, Lia,” you muttered into her neck.
She hummed, burying her head into your neck. “Of course. Whenever you need some ‘girl talk’, you know I’ll always be there for you.”
You released yourself from her grip, sniffling. “Welcome back home, again, Jules,” you grinned. “Wanna tell me about your trip back home?”
Tumblr media
You walked through the semi-crowded halls, anxious. I’m getting a serious case of deja vu right now, you thought, quietly snickering to yourself. You gripped your bags closer to you, walking in a quicker pace until you reached your locker. Setting the combination of the lock, you swung the door open, digging through the small storage to switch out your books for the day.
“Hey, Y/n!”
You flinched, hearing someone randomly call out your name. Slowly turning around, filled with dread, you saw Seungmin and Jeongin walking up to you. Your shoulders slumped in relief. “Good morning, Y/n,” Seungmin greeted with a warm smile.
“Morning. Wow, it’s amazing to see you early,” you laughed, referring to Jeongin.
He scrunched his face then laughed. “I’ve been coming early for the past few days already. You would’ve known if you’ve been here.”
“Oh yeah, what happened to you? Are you okay?” the other boy asked.
Your heart stopped, panic surging through you. Why are you so scared? They’re not the ones you’re avoiding! You stared at the two boys like a deer caught in headlights. “Uhm...Sorry about the sudden disappearance but I—uh—caught a cold a few days ago.”
“Oh really?” Jeongin said. “I mean, you do look tired though so I guess that explains it, but good to know you’re good now!”
“Are you sure you’re even fully recovered?” Seungmin gave you a subtle stank look. “You should be wearing a mask, or something! Did you remember to bring some medication with you today? Don’t push yourself too much! We don’t wanna be responsible for dragging you to the clinic.”
You rolled your eyes, scoffing. “Thanks, Seungmo. I knew I could always count on you.”
“I don’t like getting sick, Y/n. Please respect that.”
Jeongin laughed. “I don’t mind!” he chimed. “Come here and spit into my mouth!”
“Jeongin! What the heck? That’s freaking gross!” Seungmin exclaimed in pure disgust.
You and Jeongin roared with laughter; Jeongin hunched over, laughing even harder when he noticed Seungmin taking small baby steps away from the both of you. “It was a joke, Seungmin!” he wheezed. “Don’t run away!”
“Stop, get away from me.” He swatted the younger’s wandering hands away. Seungmin clicked his tongue, “I mean it. Don’t you dare!”
“Aw, no need to be so mean! We’re friends, aren’t we? And friends share everything together!” you quipped.
“Not ‘everything’— Jeongin, stop!” Seungmin groaned, jokingly pushing Jeongin away as the latter started to rub his chest, laughing. “God, why are both of you so irritating? Gross.”
Your laughs started to die down when you remember a key detail. You weren’t actually sick at all; you didn’t like lying to them even if it was just a small one. Eyes scanning through the halls, you checked to see if there were any unwanted eavesdroppers. “Now I feel bad,” you said, “truth is, I—”
“What’s wrong?” Jeongin asked, stopping his annoying advances. Staring at their worried expressions made you remember that these are Jisung’s friends as well-- so that means they might tell Jisung about your troubles, especially Seungmin.
“I..uh—” your voice cracked, “actually, I wasn’t that sick—I mean, I was, i guess. But it was more of a… ‘mental health’ day! Yeah…” I mean, it kinda was though?
The two boys ‘aww’ed in pity. Seungmin was the first to comfort you. “Do not worry about it, Y/n,” he spoke softly, rubbing your back in comfort, “I know this month’s been busy for you, especially with that project Mr. Kim gave you. I think a mental health day was called for.”
Jeongin stepped forward, patting your shoulder. “Yup! Next time you have a ‘sick day’ call me so we can have one together!” he grinned.
“You know, you’re too eager to skip school, Yeni.” You narrowed your eyes, chuckling. Jeongin shrugged.
“No! It’s more so to comfort you at your lowest! I also don’t wanna go to school either....”
Seungmin scoffed, “There it is…”
“But it’s true! I do also want to be there for Y/n! At least I admitted that I’m also just lazy to go to school.”
The two of you snickered at your younger friend as he frowned. Seungmin tugged on Jeongin bag in an attempt to drag him away. “Let’s go now. The bell’s going to ring soon. I’ll see you later, Y/n. Bye,” he said, waving goodbye. You giggled, the sight of him dragging Jeongin the way he was vaguely reminded you of a dog going on a walk. You waved back to the two of them, internally giggling.
“Oh! Whatever you do, please don’t tell Jisung I’m here today!” you called out. They looked at each other in confusion, wanting to inquire about your odd request. Ignoring their puzzled expressions, you turned around to finish switching out your books. Finally grabbing your Environmental Science textbook, you closed your locker, fumbling with your lock to hook it back onto the handle. Getting a strange feeling of someone watching you, you looked over to your right, catching a glimpse of dark blue hair walking away from you.
Tumblr media
You laid in the darkness of your room, the dim brightness of your phone bouncing off of your face being the only source of light. You were scrolling through your social media when a notification banner with a message from Jisung popped up.
Hannie Bear 🍯🧸: hey y/n let’s talk
You sat up in agitation, mentally debating if you should answer him or just pretend you didn’t see his message until you were ready. In a state of panic, instead of swiping the banner away, you accidentally clicked on it. Shit! you thought in horror. You already felt guilty enough for avoiding him, leaving him on read would just make you an asshole.
Me: Hi Sung!
What’s wrong?
You drummed your fingers against your blanket, anxiously waiting for his response.
Hannie Bear 🍯🧸: hmm...nothing :))
i just wanted to check up on you
You let out a heavy sigh of relief, clutching your chest; your heartbeat now calming down. You brought your phone closer to your face, thumbs typing away.
Me: Awww you’re so sweet Sungie
How was your day?
Right as you finally calmed down, his next plethora of messages sent you back into a panic.
Hannie Bear 🍯🧸: it was good. but...uhm
hey y/n?
just know, even though we’ve only known each other for a month, i still care a lot about you
if there’s anything that’s bothering you PLEASE talk to me, okay?
that’s all i wanted to tell you. take care, okay?
goodnight.
i love you
Your anxiety levels increased tenfold. Did he know? Feeling more guilty than ever, you read his messages over and over again with a heavy heart. I don’t deserve him…He really doesn’t deserve this!
Me: Of course Sung. Thank you
I’ll see you tomorrow
Looks like it’s time to face him again.
Tumblr media
...You had no sleep, whatsoever.
The guilt and anxiety you felt from avoiding Jisung for the past few days was eating you alive. Why am I such a terrible person? You (not so gently) smacked your head into the wooden table, concerning the other onlookers in the library. You wanted to spend your impromptu free period loathing yourself before you had to see Jisung next period; alone. However, that plan was immediately shattered the second you felt a presence behind you.
“Boo!” someone whispered into your ear, slightly shaking you. You jumped, turning around to glare at whoever bothered you, only to see the smiling face of your best friend.
“Hyunie? What are you doing here?” your eyes followed him, watching him take the seat beside you. “l thought you and Lixie were gonna go to the studio?”
Hyunjin threw his back onto the table, resting his head on the table to match you. “We were but Lix left me to help some of his old theatre buddies and I don’t like being alone so now, I’m here! Besides, why would I leave my favorite person alone?”
You gave him a cheery smile. “Thanks, Hyunjin.”
“Mhm! I noticed you looked kind of sad though. Are you okay?”
You scrunch your face with a hiss. “You noticed?”
“Uh? Of course I did!” he drawled. “I’ve known you for over ten years already, Y/n. It’s kinda hard to not notice something like that.” You sat up, grumbling, not wanting to tell Hyunjin exactly why you’ve been so weird lately. He sat up with you, now serious. “Y/n? Is this because of Jisung? Did something happen between the two of you?”
“No!” You boomed. Your face heated up in embarrassment when you noticed the nasty look some people gave you. Muttering a quiet ‘sorry’, you hunched over, leaning closer to Hyunjin. “Jisung did nothing wrong. Actually Jisung is a total sweetheart so there’s nothing to complain about him. It’s just…”
“What? Did you find out about the hentai he watches in his free time?”
“What? No? Hold up, he watches hentai?”
Hyunjin shrugged with his hands up, faking a clueless look. “I don’t really know if he does watch it, perse, but I did catch him watching a softcore hentai before.”
Your eyes narrowed. “Huh? Nevermind. It’s not important whether he watches hentai or not anyways.”
“Good. Don’t let that get in between your relationship! Don’t wanna ruin a perfectly healthy one!” he said with a slight chuckle. Your mood instantly turned sour at the mention of your relationship. Of course, Hyunjin noticed it right away. “Y/n?”
You sighed, biting your lip. “If i tell you, you promise not to tell anyone?”
“Honestly, unless you’re cheating on him or something, then of course I gotta tell someone, he’s my friend too. Other than that, I promise!”
“Okay, great. And don’t worry! I would never cheat! Only on tests though,” you jested. The both of you chuckled before the mood went serious again. “So, you know how Jisung and I went on a date about a week ago, right?”
“Yeah…?”
“That day...Jisung said the ‘L’ word.”
Hyunjin gasped. “The big ‘L’?! He said ‘I love you’ to you?” he queried, mouthing out the ‘I love you’ part. You nodded with wide eyes.
“Yup…A full on Kdrama-inspired declaration of love when we were alone at the park!”
“Y/n, that’s honestly amazing! Did you say it back?” Your face was sullen, slowly shaking your head. “Oh, really? Hm. That’s a little...huh.”
“He says it a lot too.”
“Oh yikes,” he lamented. “No pressure or anything but, if you feel uncomfortable with it, maybe you should tell him?”
“No, it’s not that I’m uncomfortable it’s just that— geez I actually don’t know!” you cried out as quietly as you could, slouching in your chair. Hyunjin pouted in pity, leaning over to pat your thigh.
“It’s okay. You don’t have to explain yourself if you can’t or don’t want to. But I still think you should talk to Jisung about your stance in your relationship. You know he’s a sensitive boy.”
“I heard,” you sighed. “But I don’t think I have the heart to tell him exactly what I think about him.”
“You kinda have to eventually? Tell him if you want to make it official or if you wanna break it off. The sooner, the better; otherwise you’re basically just leading him on.”
“God, I know, Hyunjin! You think I don’t know that!?”
He patted your head in an attempt to calm you down. “Hey, hey. I know you know. I’m just telling you,” he whispered calmly. “Jisung is an amazing person. He’s very sweet, caring, fun, and honestly just the go-to person when you need a shoulder to cry on. Anyone is lucky to be with him!”
“Yeah, yeah, I know he’s all that. He’s nice and everything but he wasn’t someone I wanted to have feelings for! Jisung was just supposed to be a fuck buddy! No love, no affection, no feelings whatsoever, why did he fall in love with me?!” you wailed. “I was not supposed to fall in love with Han Jisung. To be honest, I kind of wish we never met.”
Hyunjin stared with a sorrowful look, knowing exactly why you’re freaking out the way you are. He was about to comfort you and give you advice when something—or someone—caught his eye. His eyes widened, weakly muttering an ‘oh shit’. You turned around, following his gaze to see…
Oh shit…
You abruptly stood up, mouth opening and closing, trying to find the right words to say to Jisung, who was staring at you with an indescribable look in his eyes. “J-Jisung! I...What are you—”
“I came here to look for some books for a research paper,” Jisung said. You tried to ignore how his cold tone sent a pang of sadness through your chest.
“Oh. Okay,” you awkwardly smiled. “I-I really like the new hair. Dark blue suits you!”
“Thank you...I remembered how you said you wanted me to try dying my hair blue so...I did it...to your request.”
“O-Oh, really?”
“I wanted to surprise you,” he muttered, pressing his lips together. “But apparently you had a surprise for me too…”
“I— How much did you hear…?”
“Everything, I’ve been here since after Hyunjin came in. Listen. Y/n...I told you, if you had a problem, especially if it’s about me, tell me about it, face to face, instead of talking about me behind my back. That shit is embarrassing, you know? Being talked about like that from someone you thought you could trust.”
“Jisung…”
“I want to hear you out, I really do. But I don’t think I want to talk to you right now, ‘specially after what you said? I don’t think it’s fair to me.” Jisung’s voice was starting to grow loud and desperate, tears forming in his eyes. “I poured my feelings out to you; I told you I loved you. I knew it was too soon to tell you that but I still took that leap, cause I thought we had a connection. I knew deep down you felt the same— at least, I thought I did…I thought you’d say it eventually but not once have you ever said ‘I love you’ back, Y/n! Do you know how much that killed me? I thought I’d be okay with it but everytime I expressed my feelings for you but never got a response back, it hurt! It made me feel like I’m just wasting my time! I-I FELT LIKE AN IDIOT!”
Hyunjin stepped in, hushing the both of you. “Guys, I know this is something between the two of you, but people are watching now. You should take this outside.”
“No. It’s okay, man. I said what I wanted to say,” Jisung said, already making his way out of the library. “Goodbye, Y/n. Take care, alright?”
“No...Jisung, wait!” You forced your shaky legs to chase after him. However, Hyunjin wrapped his arms around you, stopping you.
“No, Y/n. Give yourselves time,” he whispered into your hair, kissing the top of it to calm you down. You turned around and cried into chest, clutching onto him tightly. He tried his best to maneuver you both around to a more secluded area of the library, mouthing out a bunch of ‘sorry’s for the scene that was created. Finding a dark corner between the aisles, he carefully pushed you to it, lifting your head to see your face. You looked up, red faced with tears and snot running down your face.
Hyunjin reached into his pocket to take his handkerchief to wipe your messy face. He held the cloth against your nose, wordlessly telling you to blow your nose. Despite how disgusting he found the sound was, he resisted the urge to cringe, seeing how this was no time to act dramatic. “It’s okay, Y/n. Breathe,” he gently comforted you. He left the dirtied handkerchief on his lap and securely wrapped his arms around you again. He caressed your back, softly humming a sweet song. “Shh shh. You’ll be okay. Just let it out.”
You weakly stuttered, “I didn’t want to tell him like that. I didn’t want him to think I didn’t love him back, Hyunjin.”
“Everything will be okay, Y/n. Just cry it out first, then we’ll deal with this together.”
“I didn’t mean to hurt his feelings! This is my fault! It’s because I was a fucking idiot and let my fears get in between us!”
Hyunjin just stayed silent and hugged you tighter, moving his hand to the back of your head to tuck you into his neck. He played with your hair, knowing how relaxing it was to you. He went back to humming another song and held you until you were calm again. You let go of him, still sniffling.
“Feel better now?” Hyunjin asked. You shook your head no.
“Not really. I still feel like shit but not as much as before.”
“I mean, that’s still progress?” he tried joking around to lift your spirits. The joke only went over your head though.
“Yeah. Better than crying,” you agreed listlessly, wiping your nose. He stood up and held his hands out. You took them, hoisting yourself up. “Thank you, Hyunie. I love you.”
“Of course, I love you too, Y/n. Talk to Ji when you’re ready again, okay?” He led you out of the dark aisle to go back to your table. You latched yourself onto his arm, hiding your face.
“Okay. But for now, can you please just take me home? I don’t think I’m in the right mindset now to continue the rest of the day.”
“No problem. Anything for you.”

Rules: Post the names of all the files in your WIP folder, regardless of how non-descriptive or ridiculous. Let people send you an ask with the title that most intrigues them and then post a little snippet of it or tell them something about it.
Then tag some people for a no-obligation mutual wailing/cheering/complaining session!
I was tagged by @kdramabrainrotstation. Thank you! I don't know how you knew I had those ushshdhdhdhu' I haven't written much of anything these days, since my personal life is a little crazy right now—I mostly just dump ideas in my folder or in my notes, in the hopes some day I'll be in the right place to work on them. Therefore, most of what I'm going to list here is still in the 'planting seeds' phase (if not almost totally vague).
miscommunication (Strangers From Hell)
siren au (Strangers From Hell)
Lockscreens (Strangers From Hell)
ms eom buys moonjo clothes (Strangers From Hell)
seokyoon punches moonjo in the face (Strangers From Hell)
post-canon where jongwoo listens to seokyoon's new song on the radio (Strangers From Hell)
(Yes, this is quite a mess. The ones that are only vague ideas (don't have folders yet) are in my 'WIPs' phone note, fighting for space among other trillion ideas for fmvs, gifsets, analyses, quizzes, etc., so when you go there it gets even more messy, and things can get lost for a while...)
Now, about tagging... I know some of you write in secret *squints in suspicion* but I can't tell who you are for sure, so I'll just tag some writers I know who haven't been tagged yet.
@daxianme (ok, ok, I lied, I'm aware you have been tagged at least twice now, and I'm sorry for spamming, but I love the things you write *cross fingers* third time is the charm) @whistlingnight (I'm both wondering if there are WIPs you haven't told me about and personally cheering the ones I already know of) @memequeen1127 (aware you don't talk much here, I'm pestering you anyway because I really like your ideas) @moonjosjongwoo (I'm always curious about your projects so I keep asking about them; I'm sorry if I'm your most annoying fan *bows respectfully*) @anthean (what are you up to??? I bet is another one of those masterpieces) @hwiyoungslesbiangf (have I ever told you how much I look up to you as a writer? no? is this the first time and in national television?)

Found (Outside the Screen) (CC!Dream x GN!Reader) Part 2
Request: That dream angst fuckin wrecked my heart..any chance for a part 2 with comfort(im not the og requester so if not thats fine its just OUGH my heart)
I have written this three times over because tumblr didn’t save it. THEN. Tumblr doesn’t show it to ANYONE unless they check my account. This happened to my Ranboo fic as well... I will honestly cry if no one sees this.
Once again. This is a completely fictitious story and version of Clay.
TW: Panic attacks, self deprecating thoughts,
"(Y/n)!"
His voice echoed through the house as you scrambled around corners to escape the possible wrath of your boyfriend. Or maybe even soon to be ex boyfriend.
Despite living in this house with him for a little over two years, it was beginning to feel like a maze. You couldn't tell which way was left and which way was right, your head spinning with panic as you gasped for breath.
He's gonna find you...
The house wasn't even that big, and quite an open concept, so you had no idea why you were finding it so confusing. All you knew at the moment was...
Get out.
Once your eyes landed on the door that lead out, you made a beeline towards it and flung it open. Maybe you should've known better than to attempt to run from the manhunt god...
The footsteps pounding against the floor not too far behind you startled you enough to jump outside and slam the door behind you in hopes of giving yourself enough time to run farther.
There were plenty of things failing to register in your mind as you ran down the empty sidewalks. Such as the poor choice (or lack) of shoes you were wearing, or even the heavy night rain pelting down on your shaking body.
Your lungs were burning.. But your brain had thrown itself so far into fight or flight mode that you had no care for anything around you, hardly blinking twice as the signs of unfamiliar street names flew past you.
Eventually, when you physically couldn't breathe any longer, you sat on a bench and took awhile to think. The consistent rain pelting down on your head was actually a decent grounder to help you snap yourself out of it... But that only caused more confusion and another wave of panic to wash over you.
Where... were you?
Doesn't matter. Don't go back.
Oh God... He hates you..
Why wouldn't he..?
He was too embarrassed to show you to his chat!
What did you do that was so embarrassing?
God.. What was so wrong with you that he stayed in his streaming room for days on end!?
Pulling your knees up to your chest, you choked back a few sobs, trying your best to keep what was left of your composure. Very quickly, however, you gave up on trying to hold yourself together and broke down, hiding your face in your knees.
Time seemed to pass by way too quickly but also way too slowly at the same time.. Like time itself was giving you the one finger salute. When you finally stopped crying, you leaned back against the back of the bench and gave a shaky sigh before you decided to attempt to think rationally again.
You had no clue where you were. Nothing looked familiar. What time is it? No clue, you don't have your... Your phone!
You quickly scrambled to your pocket to pull out the cellular device, and stared at the black screen for a few seconds. Anxiety was the reason for your hesitance as you stared into your reflection, frowning slightly. Without thinking twice, you pressed the button and the screen lit up with various arrays of colours.
78 Missed calls from Clay💚
2 Missed calls from George👓🇬🇧
7 Missed calls from Sapnap🔥
Was... He so mad that his friends were trying to yell at you too? You tilted your head slightly and scrolled through the other notifications on your lockscreen.
Twitter seemed to be losing their minds over your boyfriend's stream and wondering who the stranger was. Seeing the headlines flooded you with immeasurable guilt and you almost put your phone down again, if your phone didn't start buzzing.
You glanced down at the screen and say Clay was making call number 79... Man, he was persistent.. and he would probably continue to call until you answered...
Your finger hovered over the decline button, before slowly moving over and landing on the green one instead. "...Hello...?"
"(Y/n)...?" Had... He been crying...? "Oh my god! You're alive!" He gasped out with glee before giving a few sobs of... relief...?
"...You... Aren't... Mad?" You whispered very softly and hesitantly, your voice scratchy and sore from crying.
He sighed and there was a little bit of shuffling as well as a few male voices in the background. "No. Not in the slightest... Where are you? I want to apologize in person.. And when it doesn't sound like you're in a hurricane.."
You lifted your head up to look at the rain that was continuing to pelt down on you before looking around. "..I'm not sure.." You heard your partner echo your statement in question form as you looked for street signs through the rain. Glancing back at your phone, you saw the screen light up again, this time it was a warning label.
Your battery was almost dead...
"C-Clay.. My phone is going to die.." You murmured softly, your heart filling with dread as you turned down your brightness and closed any unnecessary apps.
There was a little bit of clattering and shuffling on the line as Clay hurriedly walked from the windows to the door, trying to see you from the home. "G-give me landmarks! Hurry!" He practically begged as you shot up from your bench, ignoring the burning soreness in your legs.
Spinning around quickly, you began listing off a few company buildings you saw, trying to shout over the rain and a few cars driving by. "Yeah-yeah! There's also that little sushi place beside the restaurant too.."
You heard the furious typing of his computer before another almost sob of relief. "You're on Rosewood Avenue... How the hell did you run that far? Okay, you're going to walk in the opposite direction of the sushi place until you reach a road called Miller Road, got that?" He waited for a verbal noise of agreement before continuing, "Once you get there, turn left and keep walking straight until you get to a steakhouse. I'll meet you half way, if you don't see me there, don't move unless you have to. Got it?" He asked firmly, with a small hint of desperation in his tone.
You rubbed your face as you mentally repeated the directions to yourself. "Yeah.. Yeah.. I got it." You began to walk along the sidewalks, your shoulders beginning to tremble from the water induced shivers trailing up and down your spine.
"..(Y/n)?"
"Yeah?"
"I lov-"
Your phone died..
Pulling the device away from your head, you pressed the buttons a few times before groaning and shoving it into your pockets as you began to walk.
Your mind was blurry but also hyper aware along the walk to the road where Clay told you to go. 'What was he going to say? If... He doesn't hate me... was he going to say- No.. no. He hadn't said that line in over a few months now.. No reason why he would say it now..' You mentally scolded yourself.
The rain didn't seem to be too keen on letting up as you walked through large rippling puddles. Your clothes were soaked, your hair completely drenched and you were pretty sure you were gonna need to buy a new phone with how much your current one was getting waterlogged..
You rose your arm to shield your face from the onslaught of water that a car had caused by driving through a large puddle before running your hand down your face.
Part of you was still a bit.. angry... at Clay... He had ignored you for so long and wanted nothing to do with you.. Then suddenly you spill hot coffee on yourself and then boom, you have the man more focused than when he has a good speed run seed. What about all those times you were begging him to come to bed, or at least eat dinner at the table with you? Did you only matter when you were in pain?
Biting your lip, you shook off the thought as you looked up again to see the steakhouse that you were directed to go to, the signs glowingly and people shuffling in and out through the doors...
Then there was another man, standing under a large black umbrella wearing a damp lime green hoodie...
Only you'd recognize that face anywhere where others wouldn't.. Standing in the street lights perfectly was your boyfriend, Clay.
Your heart trembled but also melted slightly upon seeing that he wasn't paying attention to his screen anymore. You. He was focused on finding you...
As you began to walk closer, you saw him lift his head and stare at you for a few seconds before dropping the umbrella and lunge forward to wrap you in a loving embrace. "I'm sorry.." Was the first thing he whispered, his voice almost as hoarse as yours. "I know.. that a simple apology will never excuse what I put you through... You cared for me, and even after a stupidly ignored you... You still didn't leave, or get angry. I don't deserve you, I know that, and you have every right to be upset, angry or whatever you're feeling right now.. Please, it doesn't matter how long it takes... Just let me make it up to you and let me prove myself worthy of your love again.."
Your lips parted in surprise as you stared at him, the streetlight poorly capturing his normal beauty, but still doing it well enough that you felt your heart soar. "Clay..." Your eyes traced his features, his puffy and reddened eyes and his cheeks stained with tear tracks, "You have a lot to work and make up for... I'm not going to forgive you immediately, but I'm not going to leave you.. We can work things out.. Together, okay?"
He eagerly nodded and gently held your face in his hands before pressing a light kiss to your forehead. "I'll break away from video editing and streaming for a while.. So I can focus on repairing things with you.."
You buried your face into the male's sweater, that was beginning to become soaked as well from the rain and you, and closed your eyes as you wrapped your arms around him.
"(Y/n)?"
"Mm..?"
"I love you."
"I love you too, Clay."
