I feel like Jason and Cass should have beef tbh. Like Cass is the one person more dedicated to the ‘no killing’ rule than Bruce, and hers is born of experience as opposed to sheltering like his also. Jason, meanwhile, stayed with the League of Assassins SO he could learn to kill - whether or not he eventually makes the choice to stop differs between continuities, but still, I doubt he’d ever abide by the ‘no killing’ rule so closely.
And like!! How!! Do they not!! Fight!! Cass sees the Batman symbol AS a symbol of ‘no killing’ and redemption - she’s loyal to what it represents to her. How is she NOT pissed that Jason can still ‘get’ to wear it even after everyone he’s killed? Even when he’s not with the Bats, he’s still a crime lord who got there by decapitating eight people and stuffing their heads in a duffle bag and has killed a whole lot more. For Cassandra, who from the age of eight was utterly devastated when she was forced to kill despite being raised as a living weapon, how does she not take issue with that?
Like, they’ve had very similar experiences in life - abusive fathers, absent/dead mothers, homeless and starved, died and brought back. They’ve both killed even though like I said, the way they reacted to it is literally opposite. Both have associations with the League of Assassins, also. Like?? They’ve had such similar upbringings - not the same no shit, but still - and yet the conclusions they drew are so opposite and the conflict that could come of that is so interesting!
Cassandra killed and swore to never do it again, and believes it’s a sin of sorts to kill. Jason voluntarily was trained to kill because he believes there are people you can’t leave alive. People who write them working together seamlessly are so boring, because the second they had to work together in a serious situation they’d clash. They’re both stubborn and independent even without morality getting in the way, and when you add it all together it’s a fantastic recipe for both a moral and personal conflict.
Basically what I’m saying is give me a Cass Jason angst fic.

I don’t think anyone understands just how much I want origin stories of everyone else in Mystreet like they all have really interesting backgrounds that are just tossed to the side of the main plot points (lol abt to be a really long threat again sorry)
Aaron- Didn’t actually get character lore OR a personality until S3 but like I want MORE because tbh I feel like his parents gave him a lot more trauma than what’s shown in the series, and even the stuff IN the actual seasons (the emotional neglect, his military schooling, the tense relationship w/Melissa etc;) are fixed and shoved off like no he might ACTUALLY need therapy bruh PLEASE
Katelyn- I think she was (?) in therapy in the beginning for her anger issues and the loss of her mother but like it was kind of forgotten about tbh. I think she needs more positive moments in the series honestly bc in the later seasons we’re shown she’s partially abusive towards Travis the first time they went out, and ends up being written off as prejudice towards werewolves bc of past experiences??? Naw the Katelyn I know would never do that. AND HER DREAMS OF WORKING IN THEATRE TOO HELLO??? Also, her mom quite literally used her in the Forever Potion experiments as a child?? I feel like that’s important to her character too :/
The Ro’meave Brothers- I don’t actually know where to start tbh because I feel like ALL THREE of them could use some kind of character depth aside from Dumb Blonde, Emo One, and the Forgotten One. Especially Vylad, probably having to witness this entire Lycan situation grow from an outsiders perspective with no contact from his family in forever. It’s shown that Zane is immensely interested in the family business too like hello??? Garroth himself is kind of just written off as a comedic effect most of the time, but he quite literally has no other goals (possibly because he KNOWS he’s going to inherit the business one day whether he cares to or not).
Laurance- He’s not really a character anymore, but from what we’ve actually SEEN in Mystreet he had enough development to become something outside of a potential love interest for Aphmau. He has a fondness for cooking and was seen to be EXCEPTIONAL at it, and I think he still carried an interest in baseball (or idk it was SOME sport asdfghjk the point is he was good). And he was also shown to still help out his family here and there (babysitting Caleb, his baby brother, in numerous episodes). Idk, I feel like there were so many pieces of Laurance that could’ve been explored and touched upon and we hardly got anything. Also… Garrance. Quite literally hate to be that person but it was literally the biggest piece of queerbaiting I’ve ever seen fr I wish it was explored as much as Aarmau was :( (willing to bet the popularity had something to do with what I call the ‘Heartstopper’ treatment but that’s just me tho)
Nana (KC)- The most under appreciated character in-universe I actually had to go and make a separate post about this LOLOL expect it in like five minutes from now bc I just save everything in my drafts.
Travis- Lol no surprise here but him too dude honestly I have no idea where to start with him atm, his entire family’s lore needs a full in depth analysis on themselves because Aphmau’s series just BARELY touches the surface of Travis’s character
Dante/Gene- Honestly BOTH of them were done so dirty I find it funny how no one ever talks abt it because they’re so beautiful to me. Gene already had his redemption arc so I can kind of see why they just tossed him aside but Dante literally had nothing tbh. He had a messy relationship with KC in PDH and then made that same mistake in LLP. Okay, cool, give us more of that. Let him learn from his mistakes and be self aware now. Or better yet let him grow without tossing love interests into the formula in order for it to happen!! Seems like his family life is pretty good though, worst thing abt him was the peanut allergy.
Lucinda- Queen actually has very little to no background that actually centers around her. We know she had a really bad relationship with Ivan but like I’m pretty sure that’s it.

Maybe this isn't necessarily how you conceive of Jean (or Emma), but who do you think would make a good rival for Jean besides Emma? Like who do you think could most confidently challenge like jean's ethos on a team. I think her and magneto being at odds on a team would be so fun, but like because jean has such a power gap over people and experience gap this scenario doesn't arise, especially since jean is not prone to conflict and accepts ideas from new members like synch and stuff. Sorry if this doesn't make sense but I think characters being at odds can be very fun. Either way I really enjoy reading your meta about jean a lot it's really made me appreciate her in a way I didn't before
i also think characters being at odds can be really fun! i think that jean and emma can be really good rivals but often aren't, because their conflict and rivalry tends to occupy this fairly shallow dimension without getting at any of the deeper ways in which these characters see the world and each other and disagree.
i think one of the reasons its hard to find a rival for jean is that i think jean really values team cohesion? she tries to navigate disagreements and tense social situations on the team so that everyone works together.
that said i do think your idea of her and magneto being at odds would be really fun! jean missed pretty much all of magneto's positive interaction w the x-men. she was dead (or in x-factor) when he taught the new mutants, and she was dead when he joined the x-men on utopia. i could see his presence being weird and disconcerting to her, as his closeness to people like scott and ororo demonstrates the extent to which she might not really know them anymore.
i also think jean's closeness to xavier, and the extent to which she was present for the beginning of the x-men and the development of those ideals and that idea could really interestingly play off of magneto. jean really bought into a lot of xavier's ideas, but she also has a different relationship to xavier than someone like scott did, where she was very aware of his flaws and hypocrisies, and could confront him about them (i also think jean tends to identify herself as a partner or confidante of xaviers, along the lines of moira, even though she was a child at the time. her and magneto navigating their relationships to charles in that context could be really interesting, imo).
finally i think jean is less willing to like. consider political violence (as opposed to personally motivated violence) than magneto is. that conflict between them could be really fun! especially if ororo and scott are there also. like i think for jean to actually have a rivalry w someone she needs to feel bad, and she needs to think she knows the other person and the way they're fucking w her. and i think magneto could fit the bill on both those fronts, though ig it is less a rivalry and more just. interesting conflict between two characters.

Dear diary,
There was certainly an adjustment. When it came to the weavers, Only a few of them seemed to relax enough to be around me, including Greg. Jamila was still angry, which… i wasn’t particularly happy about it, but I couldn’t blame her. The siblings - Oscar and Lila - were less than pleased too. With Lila keeping a distance. I think she was trying to protect her baby because she kept cradling her stomach. I don’t know when she got pregnant, but if she had a husband he wasn’t there. Oscar seemed more distanced mentally. He didn’t talk much, besides asking a few questions. His wife was a lot more curious about it all, mentioning that she thought she saw him a few times while she went to work. We used to be coworkers, the three of us.
I couldn’t help but blush whenever she commented on one of my features, and how it was so much different than the picture that was stationed in the kitchen. A small memorial was put up In the corner, and she explained that the cooks and staff members missed him dearly. So while there was already a small memorial in the family home in the livingroom, there’s a few more Tucked in various parts of the restaurant.
I’ll admit, I felt selfish. The fact that it took so long for me to come back, only to find out how much people missed me… I didn’t have the heart to tell her that I was out having adventures myself, but I should have. It’s been weighing on me.
The kids were a mixed bag. they were stationed around the living room, watching him like a hawk, but only a few of them were actually willing to talk to him. The rest of them were mainly quiet, and when they did speak it was about how he changed and such. It was obvious that they were trying to be polite, which hurt a little bit, but I’m trying not to let it get the best of me. I have been gone for about two years, and now to suddenly show up being so different…
Anyway. Other things have been happening as of late. Nothing too drastic, but my clothes have been losing color steadily. And it’s become even more apparent in my world than an Arthurs. As well as the decor in my room. When I first arrived it was bright and the pinks were pigmented and the stuffed animal seemed lively. Maybe it’s just my own skewed perception, but it feels lonesome and tired now. When I step into the room I don’t feel comfort in the brightness of my childhood room, instead I feel… I don’t know.
But I do you know, is that Arthur has been on my mind a lot. I can’t help but miss him, since he was my roommate for so long… And my feelings for him… I don’t know how to feel about it right now. All I know is that I miss him and I want to message him, but it feels too soon. He was injured when I left, it might be a startling change for me to suddenly be gone. I… I feel like I abandoned him.
there’s a few more sentences of words that are in the end scribbled out.
Mono forgot how twitchy his own Arthur was. The man was sitting beside him in the backyard of the restaurant. Which was just a little fenced off area with some patches of grass to the fence to block it from the parking lot. Rose bushes and flowers masked the fence so that way there was a semblance of privacy.
The air felt tense, although mono couldn’t tell if it was because of his own anxiety or if there really was tension between them. But there was for sure an awkwardness. The two would keep glancing over at one another and then promptly looking away. Arthur looked like he had something to sat, opening his mouth and then closing it. Opting to clear his throat
Mono hums lightly. His fingers sliding along the metal tail of the cat pendant that lays over his button up shirt. The special charms ensure that nothing would find him… But Arthur still had a reaction to him.
Mono chews his lip, studying the underside of a bush as he rakes his mind for things to do. Things to talk about. There was the obvious small talk, about Arthur’s van, and his job. Then there was the awkward, of what was happening while he was gone… That was sure to bring up some bad memories considering how the weavers responded to his appearance. He could bring up the others that he had met… Salena and Arthur, Frenzy and Lament, all the Vivi’s and all the Lewis’. Talk about the beach and the cave and… Reverb.
No…. That… monos frown tightened as he tried to imagine how Arthur would respond if he brought any of them up. Maybe he would be upset that mono was being well acquainted with multiple people while they were still here in mourning. Mono would have to bring up like he didn’t return any sooner, and how he was scared and how he was selfish, and how-
“Nice charm you got there.“
Mono bobs to attention and turns to him, his brain scrambles to catch up and understand what Arthur was talking about. Arthur’s face, a little stony, softened the smallest bit. His eyes dipped down to monos chest and then back, and it finally occurred to him. Mono pinched the metal in between his fingers and he held it out a little bit, so that way both of them could get a better look at it.
“Thank you.” He says quietly, a little too quiet. “A friend made it for me. “
“It looks cute. Suits you.”
“Ah-! That’s sweet of you.” Mono smiles softly, thankful for the break in silence as the gears in his head turn as fast as they could. Latching onto this new conversation starter, mono leans his head back and hooks his fingers under the chains of other charms and amulets that were stashed away under his shirt. Unlike his clothes, they still glittered finally with the colors it adorned. The cat charm, a second warding charm, the amulet he was given by a mysterious animal, and a stabilizing charm. Mono holds the centerpieces over his hand so that Arthur can get a good look. Mono smiles with pride as Arthur twists around to peer close. There’s a small question on if Arthur could inch closer, that mono accepted without thought. Now Arthurs leg was now brushing against his own thigh. Butterflies picking up in his chest.
“Mind if I touch them?” Arthur asks, his eyes dropping to something else, “oh, cool ring.”
It’s a shock that he was so surprised by the things that Arthur noticed. Why?? He couldn’t tell. The metallic rainbow metal ring that made his heart skip a beat. His face darkened a little.
Something that Arthur noticed almost immediately. He lets out a soft chuckle that was a mixture between clearing his throat and projecting his voice. “What? You got engaged already without us?” His voice was anything but malicious. But mono’s face dropped and he quickly shook his head.
“No!" Mono haphazardly covers his hand and the other charms. Fidgeting a little with them as he tries to think of a way to explain that could banish the thought from Arthur’s head. But all the damage was already done, and his quick movement has Arthur scooting away a little bit and sitting up straighter.
“Hey, it’s alright? “
“… I’m sorry. But they were just - gifts. Um. Look, see?” Mono holds out his hand and flicks the ring, causing it to spin. Arthur watched with the smallest flicker of fascination, but his movements were stiff.
Mono cursed himself. He didn’t want Arthur to put his walls up, and yet here he was hurting him regardless. Maybe this was too soon of a meeting. Maybe he should’ve rehearsed it a few more times in his room. Maybe-
“So, who made it? “
Mono swallows, flicking the ring twice until the hollow sound was louder than his rampaging thoughts. He needed to calm down. Now.
Deep breath. Deep breath.
“.. Lewis.. breath buddy.” without meaning to, mono stiffens under the hand pressed to his shoulder. It’s secure and firm, and mono focuses on the pressure for a minute. Counting to ten and counting his breaths.
The panic subsided, and Mono's head sinks forward as he calms. “Sorry.” He’s quiet again. It’s almost familiar, acting so rash and being so - messy with his feelings.
“It’s fine. No- no, it’s okay.” Arthur says firmly, eyebrows furrowed together with worry, making a face all too similar to Lance. “It’s - it’s a big change, right? Passing and then - well, moving back. It can be like that sometimes, so - take your time.”
That’s right. Arthur would know better than anyone how uprooting yourself would cause problems, considering how many times his family moved and how he was constantly sent to lance and then taken back, he would know. Mono also knew, even though he only moved once- twice now - but it was the biggest shift he had ever experienced at the time.
Mono frowns still, wanting nothing more than to fall onto his crux of chrome. It used to be so easy, back when he was alive and even a few months ago.
“Thank you. I’m still sorry. I was hoping I wouldn’t be like this. But I-“ mono chokes out a soft laugh, “I guess I’m still getting used to everything.”
“It’s - it’s okay, Lew. Really. You… well you died, so your temperament changed.” It did. A lot changed.
“.. I’m glad you’re here right now, Arthur. I missed you.”
“I missed you too, Lew.”

Anime Update V2 61
Vinland Saga S2 - Pretty on the nose for this episode to be titled "We Need A Horse", which is a dilemma that Einar vocalizes early in, but for the most part it's spent on Einar and Thorfinn's developing bond of friendship that gives us some amusing and sweet moments, also introducing us to Sverkel, Ketil's elderly father, who now has an odd relationship with Snake as he frequently crashes at the old man's farmhouse. Snake states that the farm is poorly defended against any enemy that might be more formidable more than local thieves, should any such enemy arise and want to conquer the land. Sounds like foreshadowing for what's going to be going on later...
Hunter x Hunter - Gon and Killua are still training and taking on Knuckles (with Shoot lying in wait but having not done anything yet), Bisky is still around and a delight to have on screen, Netero is trapping and killing many of the Chimera Ant forces, and the third and final of the Royal Guards came out of his cocoon to join the other two, as the Queen giving birth to the King becomes more imminent.
Fruits Basket - Akito being a sympathetic figure who doesn't make me want to retch is such an astonishing thing; was not expecting Saki to easily figure out her gender upon their meeting, or Arisa to hug her, and I was glad to her Arisa admit to herself she'd handled the whole Kureno thing poorly from the offset, being now willing to start over with him as a friend and companion, and I wish it would stick in terms of being definitively platonic. The scene between Yuki and Kyo was so cathartic and so overdue since the very earliest episodes of the show, and just as I'd praised Jerry Jewell's voice acting last time, Eric Vale knocked it out of the park here - why can't he do that sort of voice acting as Trunks these days? Kyo then going to settle his baggage with his hideously spiteful and pathetic biological father was appropriately tense, particularly when intercut at one point with the Sohma Family head maid confessing to Akito how much things have come apart for her and how, at her age, she'll having nothing left once the curse is no more. I sort of wish we could've seen Kyo's father's reaction to Akito telling him that Kyo's not getting locked up for life after all, but part of me would also dread what I'd have to see and hear there given all the shouting he does...
This story goes on into the next episode where Tohru and Kyo mutually consummate their love for each other, Kyo embraces Tohru and does not transform into the cat, prompting him to finally break off his beads and embrace a life of freedom, and we're told via Tohru's narration the real story behind the Zodiac animals and the lonely celestial person they called "God", why the cat (who was present at the banquet with all the rest, not tricked by the rat into missing it) was really shunned, and how "the bonds" based upon the promise between God and his animal friends got carried forward by the spirits who reincarnated repeatedly into what would become the Sohma family, before this eroded into the curse that the cat knew it would inevitably become should it be stuck to into perpetuity. And then, one by one, all of the Zodiac Sohmas curses break, and it's such a beautiful moment of pure catharsis that it sucks you in just enough to forgive how Akito's internal monologue gets a liiiitle over-indulgent and almost too direct (even as enthralled as I was, when she was repeatedly telling me to cry, I couldn't help but find it a little silly.)
Fate/Stay Night: Unlimited Blade Works: Sorry, none this week!
Re:ZERO - W...ha....wha....what do I even say? It was all going in a direction I'd consider natural and expected coming off from last time, but when Garfiel transformed into a ginormous tiger and started slaughtering everyone in his path, including Otto and a bunch of the villagers aiding in Subaru's escape, it started to go off the rails. But I still was not prepared for what I was about to see: Subaru gets thrown into some place covered in snow and gets very painfully torn apart and eaten into by a bunch of killer rabbits with unicorn horns. THE ACTUAL FUCK WAS THAT ABOUT? It was so gruesome and so over-the-top horrifying with the music and visuals and then ended so abruptly as Subaru re-spawned that it crossed the line into being downright hysterical - not since Blood-C have I seen such a bloody rabbit massacre! This moment stands out so much to me that it's amazing that I was still attentive to what followed; Subaru meets with Echidna at her tea party garden and is able to tell her, free of any repercussion to himself, about the Return By Death ability, leading to him breaking down sobbing as Echidna offers him comfort. Awww.
Symphogear AXZ - Forgot to mention the alchemically created big snake creature last time, but it sure is a thing and not a thing you want the enemy summoning when you're facing off against them. Shit also got heavy when in a fight in a village taken hostage by enemy forces, Chris had to shoot the leg off of a boy caught by an AlcaNoise in order to save him from disintegration. To make this worse for poor Chris, the boy's big sister is a woman Chris used to be friendly with prior to her parents death, so now the rift between them have widened. The alchemist servants of the Illuminati seem like interesting adversaries at the very least, Team Dango (Maria, Kirika, and Shirabe) are as badass as ever, and the ending was the most metal thing - Hibiki breaks through the serpent and declares herself to be the truly invincible foe that the baddies ain't ready for.
Eureka Seven - It'd be hard for me to even talk about this one - half of it was an Evengelion-esque mindfuck in some Coralian-made illusionary world Renton, Eureka, and Anemone found themselves in following things going awry in their fight, and the other half was an intense dogfight between Gecko State and the Military forces.

you get kidnapped by the fatui headcanons (diluc & kaeya)
prompt: Diluc and Kaeya headcanons for reader getting kidnapped by the Fatui before they have a chance to confess that they’re in love with her, as requested by @lohai-of-favonius word count: 2.1k (lol “headcanons”) characters featured: diluc, kaeya reader: gender-neutral/female/male (can be read any way, it’s in second-person pov) style: headcanons w/ angst then fluff warnings: possible spoilers for diluc & kaeya related info, light descriptions of injuries, kidnapping, light descriptions of violence
a/n: i made these into headcanons, i hope that’s okay! i was getting a little longwinded on the both of them and i feel like the scenarios would’ve turned into full length fics otherwise haha. i definitely need to learn to write less. i hope i interpreted the prompt well!
“I have a commission awaiting me,” You stated, refusing to make eye contact with the man in front of you as you absentmindedly fiddled with the sleeves of your shirt. “In Liyue. Looking for a missing person. Should be routine stuff, I’ll be back in a week, max.”
You glanced at the man in front of you. If you could notice the concern he wore on his expression, you failed to verbally acknowledge it and instead took one of their hands in yours, squeezing it lightly.
“Don’t worry. I’ll be back soon. You don’t have to ring the alarm bells just yet!” You joked, plastering a small smile. As the man in front of you realized his expression was morphing into one of worry, he smoothed over his expression and composed himself.
He knew he couldn’t control your actions, nor had any room in stating which course of action you should take when it came to accepting your commissions. Missing person cases, while a valiant cause, often led to bad news. But, you were a hero at heart and here he stood, merely a friend of yours. Now wasn’t the time for a heartfelt confession of love that he desired to send your way. Doing so would only unfairly manipulate you into staying and he knew you were strong enough to make it back on your own.
But, a week later, as he awaited your arrival at the gates of Mondstadt, worry plagued the man who had fallen in love with your heroic, dutiful spirit over the last few months. As the hours ticked by, he realized he needed to have a new course of action...
KAEYA
Upon you going missing with little to no information, Kaeya would notify the Knights of Favonius, first and foremost. In fact, he speaks to Amber first, as he believes her to be trustworthy and her status as an Outrider makes her most likely to encounter you first.
However, despite his growing concern, he remains optimistic. You’re a strong fighter who has helped him clear countless hilichurl camps. He knows you can handle yourself well. You’re likely just taking longer than expected or picked up extra work in Liyue before returning.
A few days later, Fischl, one of the Adventurer’s Guild’s investigators, approaches him with information on your whereabouts. However, after lots of back and forth between the two, he finally understands (with the help of Oz’s translations) that you’ve been kidnapped by the Fatui.
Kaeya immediately panics, but manages to keep his cool, charming facade up until Fischl leaves his presence. Now left alone in his office in the Knights of Favonius headquarters, Kaeya paces around, trying to think of a plan.
Kaeya wants nothing more than to ride a horse straight into Liyue and search for you, taking down anyone that gets in his way. However, there’s one thing that limits him: Diplomacy.
Kaeya’s a part of the Mondstadtian government, meaning that any action he takes in Liyue directly reflects on the nation of Mondstadt as a whole. It wouldn’t look good to dirty his hands with Fatui blood in a land that isn’t his own. Not only would it be detrimental to his well-being, it would also put the freedom of Mondstadt at risk, which goes directly against the promise he made when being sworn in as a Knight.
Therefore, he has to use the next best thing: Connections. The Adventurer’s Guild has been extremely helpful on intel, he has friends in the Liyue Millileth, and he’s even willing to swallow his pride and reach out to Diluc if it means your safe return.
Diluc, despite his tense relationship with his brother, has always had a soft spot for your presence, so he’s more than willing to help by spreading word around the tavern.
As days go by, Kaeya gets antsy and right when he’s about to say fuck it and mess up the entirety of Sneznhayan-Liyuean-Mondstadtian geopolitical relations by murdering some Fatui to get you back, Amber bursts into his office and doubles over, trying to catch her breath after sprinting to the Knights of Favonius headquarters.
“We found her. With Barbara,” She manages to wheeze out. Without caring for the state of the Outrider’s lungs, Kaeya shoves past her and immediately sprints to the cathedral.
He rushes to the back where he’s met with your figure lying in a hospital bed. As he enters your room, your eyes flutter open to give him a bleary-eyed smile, despite all of your injuries.
He opts for sitting next to you and taking your uninjured hand in his, hesitant to move you a lot in fear that it would only hurt you. However, he wants nothing more than to wrap you in his embrace and never let you go. But instead, he simply brings your hand to his lips and kisses your knuckles lightly, whispering a thank you to Barbatos for your safe return as his lips ghost along your skin.
The two of you sit in silence for a few minutes as Kaeya plays with your fingers, trying to think of the words to say. You, on the other hand, are content with sitting in silence, far too tired to explain everything that had happened to you over the course of your adventure.
“Who rescued you?” The first words out of Kaeya’s mouth are not a love confession, but rather embittered words, laced with jealousy. He wants nothing more than have to been the knight to bust down the door of wherever you were held captive and whisk you away to safety, solidifying the image of him in your eyes as a protector.
“I rescued myself,” You speak softly, a smirk spreading across your lips. “I beat up those Fatui jerks and escaped myself.”
Kaeya looks up from gazing absentmindedly at your hand and makes eye contact with you. Before he can stop it, a proud laugh escapes from his lips and you begin to laugh with him too. Despite all his worries, you had come back alive and in one piece, just scraped up. You didn’t need him to play protector -- you had yourself. He was just designed to be your cheerleader. As this thought settled into his head, his laughter subsided and a content smile graced his lips.
“I’m in love with you,” He confesses in the comfortable silence between the two of you. Kaeya was normally the type for bald-faced lies, but tonight, he felt as if he wanted nothing more than to peel back his layers of mystery and be honest with you.
You beam at him, rotating your hand in his grip and squeezing back. “I know. Aren’t you lucky that I feel the same way?”
DILUC
When you go missing, Diluc immediately expects foul play. He’s definitely more worrisome than Kaeya, but Diluc is more fearful of losing the one he loves. He’s experienced loss before and has built up walls around himself to avoid losing that again and, while Kaeya does the same, Diluc is far less charming and suave with his words.
Diluc has let you in as both a friend and has fallen in love with you. He doesn’t want to lose you before he can tell you how you’ve broken down his walls.
He trusts you to be able to take care of yourself, but even the mightiest of warriors can be kept off guard. Therefore, Diluc begins using his wealth to find information out about your location and what happened to you. While it might not result in the most reliable information, Diluc knows money can get people to talk more than anything.
Diluc quickly learns that the Fatui are holding you hostage and finds out where. The location is in Liyue, so Diluc does what Diluc does best: He sets out to rescue you himself.
He doesn’t take much with him besides a horse, his claymore, some food and medical supplies, and your weapon of choice. He doesn’t know what shape you’ll be in, but he knows that if you’re even remotely conscious, you’ll want to help him fight.
When he infiltrates where the Fatui are holding you, he’s filled with rage upon seeing your bruised and beaten form in the corner, chained to the wall, as if the Fatui had tried to get information out of you but failed.
Determined to rescue you safely, Diluc realizes that he’d have to fight the multiple Fatui that were now alert to his presence as well. The four Fatui members in the vicinity look like they had already had a rough time capturing you and are less than thrilled at the prospect of fighting Mondstadt’s Darknight Hero.
However, Diluc will be damned if he lets them run. He makes quick work of the Fatui members, thanks to your assistance in fighting as hard as you could before being captured.
Once the Fatui are defeated, Diluc immediately crouches by your figure, breaking the shackles holding you with his claymore.
“My hero,” You sigh in a dreamy voice as a mischievous grin forms on your face, causing Diluc to both sigh in exasperation and flush red at the same time. However, your voice becomes sincere as you utter your next words. “Thank you.”
“You would do the same for me,” Diluc responds, his words filled with truth. Diluc trusts you more than anyone else in Teyvat. He scoops you up bridal-style and carries you over to his horse. The two of you ride back to Dawn Winery in silence, with you sitting in front of him as he holds the reins. His arms around your waist prevent you from falling and the rhythmic motions of the horse lull you into sleep.
You awake in one of Dawn Winery’s beds with fresh bandages. At your bedside, fresh water and fruit had been placed for your consumption upon waking, but you’re not too concerned with either at the moment. You decide to eat some before going to find Diluc, realizing that he’d probably chew you out for not taking care of yourself if he found out.
As soon as you’re finished, you hobble out of bed, determined to find Diluc. You spot him on the balcony and as you creak open the door, Diluc whips his head around and frowns at you.
“You should be in bed,” He chastises, immediately rushing over to you. He notices the fact that you have to lean against the doorframe for support and sighs. “Why would you ever get out of bed with your injuries?”
You let out a small giggle. “I wanted to see my charming hero, who is just as excited to see me too,” You croon, enjoying the way the tips of his ears flush red at your teasing. You reach out your arms to him. “Carry me back?”
Diluc sighs and picks you up once again. “You have me wrapped around your finger,” He murmurs into your hair as he carries you back. You’ve latched onto him like a koala, with his hands supporting your thighs and your arms around his shoulders. You bury your face into his neck and sigh with content, causing him to flush an even deeper shade of red.
Despite his embarrassment about the current situation coloring his face, Diluc realizes that he doesn’t mind if everyone else in the winery sees him carrying you like this. It would showcase that you were clearly his.
As the two of you return to your room, Diluc gently lays you down on the bed and turns to leave, but you grab his wrist before he can make his escape. His face is still flushed a deep scarlet when he turns around to face you, causing you to let out another laugh.
As the morning sun filters in through the window, your eyes twinkle with delight as you stare up at Diluc, happy to be in his presence. Diluc looks down at you, entranced by how carefree you look, despite the hell of what you had just gone through. Despite all the bandages that cover your face, arms, legs, and torso, Diluc views you as a sculpture crafted with the finest materials by the gods themselves.
As he brushes the hair out of your face, Diluc realizes that he would rescue you a thousand times over if he could relive this moment of you being happy, without any of life’s typical worries etched into your face. That’s when he fully realizes how he feels about you, embracing the feelings he had long sought to push away.
“I’m in love with you,” He states, gently cupping your face in his hand. You reach up and cover his hand with yours, smiling softly at him.
“I’m in love with you too, Diluc,” You murmur as he closes the distance between the two of you and presses a sweet, chaste kiss to your lips.

Requesting cheating angst with Kuroo, Iwaizumi, Akaashi, and Atsumu? Rip my heart apart please😌😌♥️
oH SHIT let’s do a remix on the fluff for this one post, everybody- I’m in an angsty mood so uh, eskettit :( I couldn’t make it past Akaashi’s scenario and I had so many breaks, so proceed at your own risk, everyone!
Turn and Keep Going. (Kuroo, Iwaizumi, and Akaashi) - angst -
TW: CHEATING, CURSING, ANGST- no fr I ugly cried and I wrote it
Kuroo
“Y/N. Where do you keep the extra towels again?”
You didn’t mean to see it. In fact, if you had the choice on whether or not you did-
you would have chosen not to.
The phone in your hand became tightened in an iron-clad grip as a chuckle with a nervous tinge to it slipped Kuroo’s mouth, and the world seemed to drown out for a moment. As if the world around you submerged into the water of the sea, where everything you could hear was jumbled as a strange heat flooded your vision, choking your lungs with the salt of the ocean.
“Y/N?” The garbled voice was questioning now as your eyes stayed glued to the screen, of the naked set of breasts and invites, even worse-
the accepting replies.
That was all it took for you to flinch away from the hand that Kuroo had carefully set on your back hunched over the device, the towel he had been using to dry off his hair falling to the floor in a heap of material as the raven-haired boy finally entered your bedroom from his post-practice shower.
Still, the phone remained tightened in your hand so tight to the point where your knuckles were turning white.
“Why are you going through my phone?” The accusatory edge to Kuroo’s voice had risen, and so did you to your feet, the device hitting the floor next to the towel as you fight to keep your head afloat.
“How long?” Your voice cracked, no matter how hard you fought the breaking feeling spreading across your chest as Kuroo seemed to still completely, and you didn’t need to look at him fully in the face to know how utterly guilty he looked.
“W-What do you-?”
“Don’t.” Your voice was soft, refusing to meet the captain’s eyes now, not knowing just who was standing in your room.
Not knowing just who was the man now holding your face in his hands, urging you to look at him with his own flood falling on his cheeks as his words remained garbled. Still, you let him.
“Baby. Kitten-fuck. I don’t know what you think you saw, but I love you! I wasn’t completely there when I-”
“Fucked her?” Your voice hadn’t risen, eyes glazed over in a haze as Kuroo’s voice hitched.
“No. Nononono- Y/N, kitten-”
“T-Tetsurou?” The name felt foreign on your tongue as your head finally rose to meet his, willing everything inside you to hold it back as Kuroo held you tighter, as if his arms would salvage what was falling apart.
“Get out.”
“Y/N. Please.” His voice fell to a whisper-
and the dam broke.
“I SAID GET THE HELL OUT.” You screamed, falling to your knees as your arms wrapped around yourself, knowing you were all you had in the world at the moment. You saw his legs approach you, before hesitating and turning the other way, clenched fists creating bloody marks in his hands from his fingernails as he complied.
“And Tetsurou.” You spat just as his legs stall in the doorway, watching as Kuroo’s feral and playful eyes that once painted every edge of your universe seemed to be fighting to remain stable. The captain heard those words, and couldn’t fight the sobs beginning to wreck his body as the voice he loved echoed in his ears with parting words-
Your voice didn’t crack this time.
“Don’t come back.”
Iwaizumi
“She’s a nobody.”
You jump at the sound of the voice, humorless chuckle slipping your lips as Iwa steps to your side, dark eyes looking tired and void of any light that might had once lit up his dark irises. You look out at the landscape, still looking straight forward as the ace settles next to you, hanging his forearm across his bent knee.
“How did you find me?”
“It’s been two years. I know you, Y/N.” Iwaizumi’s eyes bore into your side profile, and more sarcastic giggles make their way past your lips as you hug your knees to your chest, jabbing him where it hurts.
“Funny. I really thought I knew you, Hajime-”
“Don’t you start with that shit.”
You lazily finally meet Iwa’s eyes, causing the ace to feel the lump growing in his throat at the amount of light drained from the look of them, mirroring his own. Iwa moistens his lips, trying to get his head back on track as the heat tinges at the sides of his eyes.
“We love each other, don’t we?”
“Yeah. We did.”
Iwa flinches at the past-tense term, feeling his breathing hollow out at the sound of it.
“We must’ve at some point, right?” All cried-out, you watch the sun seem to slowly sink into the horizon in a mix of color as your eyes soak in its’ prettiness, as if the light from the sun would somehow bring the gleam back to your eyes-
but every time you closed them, all you saw was Iwaizumi fiercely kissing another girl in the passenger seat of her car, fist clenched in her hair as he kissed her with anger from the fight he had with you-
“You do. You love me.” The denial sunk in as you laugh. And you laugh some more as if that were the most idiotic thing in the world. “And I love you, Y/N- princess, we can make this work and get through this-!”
“I don’t want to, though.” You cut him off, drawing circles in the dirt as you remember the nights teasing Iwa for showing too little emotion- not knowing that the most you would get out of him would be after he stuck his tongue down another girl’s throat.
“Don’t you get that?” You shake your head, smiling as if you can’t believe it, shoving Iwa’s attempt of holding you off of you as you raise to your feet, soaking in the colors as they fade to a more dark color palate.
“I don’t give a fuck about some nobody, don’t you get that?!” Iwa’s on his feet now too, and you finally begin to crack as you look out to the horizon, a familiar heat flooding your vision as you smile.
“Hey, Hajime.” You ignore his cry, prompting the dark-haired boy to look in the same direction you were. “This is where it all started, didn’t it? Where you kissed me, and promised that you would always protect me, right?”
Iwa’s own eyes brim with frustration as the stinging heat from earlier takes over, feeling the mix of regret and heartbreak begin to settle in as you turn and give him a smile. No sarcastic intention behind it as you close your eyes, Iwa’s eyes widening at the sight of something he’d never get to see again.
“I guess you really don’t know me, after all.” You smile to the point where its’ painful, spinning on your heel. “I came because I knew you’d find me, not to fix whatever this is, but-”
You’re turned around now, the sun fading into night as you will your legs to keep walking.
“To say goodbye to you, Hajime.”
And so, the dark-haired ace watched as you walked off into the distance and out of his life for a problem he created, yells of frustration enclosed in his throat and the need to punch something ever-so prevalent-
as the sky above now swirled with dark pigment.
Akaashi
“Don’t. Don’t go, please.”
“Keiji, let go.” You tug your arm in an attempt to make the messy-haired boy release you, trembling when he pulls you into his chest, burying his head in your neck as the hot tears hit your skin, prompting you to bite your lip and fight the urge to hold him back as your own eyes burn. If he wouldn’t let you go, then-
You can’t help the vicious words from slipping. “She’s waiting, you should go to her, shouldn’t you?”
“Stop. D-Don’t say that-”
“Am I wrong?” Your voice remains stable to your surprise, causing Akaashi to tighten his hold on you even more. “The girl who came out after you in your shower...who is she?”
“No one! No one, Y/N, you were so far for so long, and-”
“And what?” You question emotionlessly. “You have needs? You were lonely? Cut the bullshit.”
“Do you know what it’s been like?” Akaashi’s voice is soft with an angry edge as he pulls back, still holding you in his arms as if to keep you there for an eternity, and for a minute, time does stop-
and you soak in the reality. Life tore you two apart, distanced yet together, far away yet still part of the same relationship. The blue-eyed boy would never be able to rewind the clock and keep you as his no matter what life hurled-
“Let go.”
“Fuck if I do.”
Your strong exterior begins to crumble as Akaashi watches with now widened eyes as the viciousness drains only to be replaced with sorrow, relief filling his heart when you hold him back just as tightly, your chin resting on his shoulder as your grateful he won’t be able to see what kind of expression crosses your features.
“Keiji.” You whisper almost child-like, causing Akaashi’s heart to swell with hope until the next words make his heart stop.
“Eat healthy, will you? I know Bokuto likes to drag you around to all these places, but too much ramen isn’t good for you-”
“Y/N?”
“And please, for god sakes, make sure you remember to pick up your suit from the laundromat on Thursdays, I know you’re presentations are usually on Fridays-”
“Y/N.”
“Oh, and don’t forget- you always make it a point to drop by Konoha’s for a guy night on the fourth of every month, so don’t drink too much because it gives you a massive migraine in the middle of the night-”
“Y/N!”
“And Keiji?” You pull back, corners of your mouth pulled back as you cup his face gently, leaning your forehead against his as Akaashi Keiji freezes in shock as the love of his life, his future, his world-
Smiles a wordless goodbye, capturing his lips as Akaashi wonders how to turn the hands of time, forcing the laws of nature to bend for his selfish desires as his arms slacken-
“Be happy.” You whisper, retracting your arms and hands before stepping out of his now weak grip, brushing past him with a finality in your steps as time refuses to stop, Akaashi fighting every instinct on forcing you to stay with him-
letting you go as the hands of time continue to move along with your steps away from him, the setter lifting a hand to his mouth before he falls to his knees and looks up to the sky-
wishing he had more hours, minutes, and seconds to see that smile for just a bit longer.
“Yeah. You do the same, love.”

Yuri x popular Fem!reader
summary: fluffy fic in which the reader sees Yuri while working at a coffee shop and intends to be closer friends with her.
word count: 2.1k
"Y/N!"
You stop in your tracks, turning to scan the tables around you for the source of the voice; it was kind of familiar, and your eyes fall on a customer that's a regular here at the coffee shop. A young man around your age, usually here with his friends but alone today.
You had been about to go make another coffee for a different customer, but you force a service smile onto your face and hurry over to his table. "Hello!" You wrack your brain for a second to bring a name to this man- it wasn't easy keeping track of so many different people, and not just at your job! You also tried to keep tabs on the majority of your peers from school, too. Fortunately, it clicks a moment later. "Hatsumi, was everything alright?" You ask, noting he's already finished his pastry and drink.
Hatsumi grins, clearly pleased you had remembered him. Customers tended to get really happy over little things like that... if only they knew you did this with all of them. It was no secret you were one of the favorites here at the little shop, consistently getting better tips than many of your coworkers. "It was great!" He answers you brightly.
You nod and inquire politely, "Would you like me to go ahead and bring the bill out now?"
A moment of hesitation, and then, "Oh- uh, yes, thanks." He seems a bit disappointed, but you don't have time to dwell on it right now, not with how busy today's rush hour is. The only good thing is you're hopefully going to be getting off in about a half hour.
You assure him you'll be right back and then flit off to the counter to ring up the items he'd ordered and print the bill. As you're doing so, you feel a tap on your shoulder.
Glancing up, you see your favorite coworker, a girl several years older than you. "Y/N," she begins, a bit of a pleading look in her eyes that means she's about to ask you for a favor.
Biting back a sigh, you push down whatever annoyance you have at being interrupted to look expectantly at her. "What's up?"
"Can we please switch tables really quickly?" She practically begs you.
Switching tables wasn't too terribly uncommon- sometimes when guests came in, the baristas would know them outside of work and might ask a coworker to deal with the order and anything else.
"Sure," you giggle, ever the people-pleaser. You had a reputation to keep, after all! You don't like to brag, but you do enjoy the fact that you have many different friends and are well-liked by just about everyone you know. "Who?"
She gives a hop of delight. "Can I take the bill to Hatsumi?"
You can't help but smirk mischievously. "Ohhhhh, I see."
She lightly smacks you on the arm, instantly blushing. "Nono, I just-"
You cut her off before she can defend herself, knowing the two of you don't really have the time to waste playing around. "It's no worries. And who's that order for?" You question as you point at the circular silver tray in her hands which is holding a cute polka-dotted cup of tea.
"Ah, this goes to table three, the girl with the purple hair."
You nod, exchanging the bill for the tray. You want to watch and see what will happen between your friend and Hatsumi, if anything, but when you look towards the designated table, already heading for it, you realize you recognize the girl sitting there.
You have no trouble recalling her name. One of the members of your Literature Club, Yuri...
You haven't actually been in the club all that long at all, maybe a week-ish, and you feel like you haven't had any time at all to get properly acquainted with Yuri. Part of you feels that it's a shame, because you get the sense she's a very interesting and sweet person beneath her quiet and distant shell. It's just hard when she's always reading, and even in the rare moments she's not, she doubts herself so much during conversations with you that it just ends up being a bit weird.
But not today! No, you're suddenly filled with a sense of determination to get closer to Yuri.
You consider playfully scaring her when you walk up, but ultimately decide against it; aside from being naturally timid anyway, she's also, as usual, reading, and doesn't seem aware of anything going on in the shop around her. So, yeah, best to use a more gentle approach.
"Hey, you," you say, putting all the friendliness in your voice as possible, stopping beside the table to greet her.
In spite of everything, Yuri still jumps a bit in her seat, violet gaze flashing up to you in alarm.
'So much for trying not to scare her,' you think unhappily. Pushing that thought away, you give her a reassuring smile. "Sorry, it's just me! Y/N. We're in the Literature Club together," you try to remind her, wondering with a pang of horror if she's actually forgotten who you are. That would be a first for you.
A second of silence, but at last Yuri's tense grip on her book loosens, and she glances down at it, avoiding making eye contact. "O-Oh, I'm sorry."
Another awkward beat of silence. This was what you meant!! It always went like this with Yuri, and you wished more than anything that you knew how to make her more comfortable around you. Hoping to carry the burden of saving this interaction, you laugh nervously, "It's no worries! But, you didn't forget me, did you?" As much as you're just trying to joke around, there really is a slight feeling of hurt that that may very well have been the case.
Yuri stiffens, quickly answering, "No, I- I didn't!" It's a rushed response, louder than you've ever heard her speak and yet still quieter than most people's normal speaking voice. As if embarrassed by her small outburst, she ducks her head to add quietly, "Uhm, that is- I just meant that... I wouldn't ever forget you, Y/N."
Oh. Talk about giving someone butterflies. You never knew what to expect with Yuri- sometimes she could never get her words out, but then other times she'd say something with such a deep meaning that it would catch you entirely off guard. What's odd though is you know for a fact how truly sincere she is; Yuri is the type of person that's much deeper than most people, and she wouldn't say something if she didn't really think or believe it.
"Thank you, Yuri," you say warmly, setting her tea down near her on the table. "Here you go! I like this kind, too." Truthfully, since you hadn't taken the order yourself or even made the drink, you weren't 100% sure what kind of tea this was, but you were willing to try anything to make Yuri more at ease. It also wasn't unheard of for you to make conversation with customers, even if it was busier than usual right now- for once though, you weren't aiming to make a good tip or secure a regular customer. You genuinely wanted to talk with her. "Hey, is that the same book you're reading at the club?" You question after catching a glimpse of the cover art.
She shakes her head, causing some of her bangs to fall into her face. Brushing them out of the way, she frowns and then nods. "W-Well, kind of. I finished that one yesterday... this is the sequel," she explains.
"It must be pretty good if you want to read the next part already," you comment. "What's it about?"
As predicted, Yuri noticeably perks up. "Oh, I think you would really enjoy it, Y/N. It's about-"
"Y/N!"
You flinch at the stern voice of your shift supervisor, who apparently hadn't realized Yuri was speaking when he cut her off.
You glance back to see him gesturing at you in clear annoyance, motioning to the line of guests waiting for their drinks to be made. You nod, signaling you'll be right over.
Focusing back on Yuri, you're unable to mask your disappointment. "I'm sorry, I've gotta get back to work. I'm supposed to be off in a little bit though."
Yuri seems to also be discouraged, apologizing for keeping you, even though you're the one who had intentionally kept the talk going. She bites her lip, and then, probably overtaken by a brief moment of courage, suggests, "When you get off, maybe then I could tell you about the books?"
You're stunned, but at the same time, this was precisely what you'd been hoping for! "Yes, sure! That sounds great. I'll see you then!" You chirp, hurrying away.
The last of your shift passes by rather quickly, and when it comes time to clock out, you actually have to tell your supervisor no, you can't stay another extra hour even if they are busy, because you have plans! Normally you would have, but not today.
You meet Yuri at the door and the two of you leave the coffee shop together. The sun is close to setting, but not quite there yet. "Thank you again, Yuri! I like spending time with you, I've just been a little busy lately," you say.
Yuri mumbles something you can't quite hear, but then adds more clearly, "I-I'm glad..."
"So," you begin, clasping your hands behind you and beaming at her. "About those books!"
That's all it takes for Yuri to dive into an explanation of the main plot points as the two of you walk side by side towards your home.
You're more than a bit tired from work and standing on your feet for so long, but it's nice to have company on the walk back, especially someone like Yuri. You hum and comment every so often, honestly thinking that they did sound like the sort of books you would enjoy. Full of fantasy and mystery and thrills... and of course, romance.
"So, the main character ditches his friend, who's been with him the whole time, for the new girl? And she's from the enemy's group?" You surmise.
Yuri hesitates. "I don't want to spoil anything for you if you're wanting to read them for yourself..."
"Such a tease," you sigh, pretending to be betrayed. "Oh, we're here- this is my house."
The two of you stop at the gate leading to the front yard of your home, and you're positive you aren't imagining the plaintive expression on Yuri's face. You didn't really want your time together to end either, but alas, you both have classes tomorrow.
"If- If you really would like, you can borrow the first book from me," offers Yuri. "And then... you'll see for yourself how it all goes."
You nod enthusiastically. "Yes, please! Thank you, that's really sweet of you! We can discuss it too after I'm finished reading it. I think I already know who my favorite character is going to be, though."
Yuri tilts her head curiously. "Who would that be?"
"Nope! It's a secret, for now." You pause, glancing up at the darkening sky. "Will you be okay walking home by yourself?"
Her violet eyes soften at your concern. "Yes, I don't live very far from here."
You find yourself unsure of how to say goodbye to Yuri, an uncertain quiet settling over the two of you, but she doesn't seem to find it awkward. "Okay, if you're sure. Do you mind giving me your phone number, though?"
She starts in surprise, a dusting of pink covering her cheeks. "U-Uhm- I- you-?"
"So you can text me when you get home," you quickly defend your reasoning, feeling a bit shy yourself at Yuri's reaction. She really was unique- most people tried to play it cool when asking for or giving numbers.
"R-Right," she stammers, reciting it off for you, and her phone buzzes at the quick text message you sent her so she would have your number.
"I'll see you tomorrow then, at the Literature Club," you finally say, already looking forward to it. "And don't forget to bring the book, please!"
Yuri steps back, her gaze on the ground but you still see her smile to herself. "Yes, I will. Bye, Y/N." She seems like she has something else she wants to say, but then she gives herself a shake and quickly turns away, her long hair twirling to follow her.
You watch her go until you can't see her anymore, partly due to wanting to make sure she was safe.
You couldn't help but admire her for her intelligence and beauty, even if she seemed to admire your social skills in return. Hopefully this was the start of a very deep relationship with Yuri.

Choking on Your Hubris
Raz knows he's cursed. He's experienced that hand reaching up to swipe at him enough time to know he's cursed. To bad Norma doesn't believe him and his own stubbornness lands him in a familiar situation.
_________
Fandom: Psychonauts          Rating: General Audience           Relationships/Pairings: Nothing major       Warnings: Discussion of almost drowning, Quick rescue, Almost losing someone, First work for this Fandom, a ‘what if’ situation.
Idea comes from InkayInks Prompt List.
“How stupid do you think we are?”
Norma’s question cut through the conversation easily. Raz, who had been talking about his family to the other interns, stopped short. Turning to face the pyrokinesis specialist. Who was looking back with a raised brow.
 “What?” The ten-year-old asked.
“There are no such things as curses. Psychics have better things to do than to play ‘fortune tellers’. And you know that manipulating someone’s mind is wrong, but that doesn’t make them cursed either. I don’t know why your father poisoned your mind with-”
“He didn’t!” Raz quickly argued back, “He wouldn’t and I’m telling the truth! If I get too close to water, this weird hand thing comes out to try to grab me and pulls me into the water.”
“Yeah...it hurts me to say this, but I’m with Norma on this,” Lizzie said slowly, “It just sounds...weird.”
Adam nodded in agreement as he folded his arms. “Never in my years of research have I ever heard of anything like this. Not curses, no nothing.”
“Are you kidding me? You all were in agreement when I was telling the story.” Raz complained.
“Yeah, before Norma sunk some sense into us,” Gisu replied, “Sorry Raz. It was a good story though.”
“It’s not a story! I’m telling you, I’ll drown by a weird hand if I get anywhere near water!”
Norma stood at that. Towering over Raz as she started him down. “Prove it.”
 “W-What?”
“You’re really adamant about this. Show us this so-called ‘curse’.”
 “You want me to die?”
“No, I want to see this mysterious hand. Don’t worry your baby head. I’ll make sure you’re safe and step in if it’s too much for you.”
Raz swallowed weakly, biting his bottom lip as he surveyed the room. None of the interns seemed to be willing to come to his rescue. Some even looked curious as well. Eyes flitted back up to Norma. Who’s all knowing smirk only seemed to grow, which only made Raz’s anger out grow his fear.
“Fine.” Said anger he had felt slowly disappeared as they neared the edge of the nearby lake. The murky water rippled innocently as the teens (and child) arrived.
“I thought,” Raz's voice cracked, “we were going to the pool?”
“I told you, you’ll be fine. Besides, where we go shouldn’t matter. Water is water after all. Now, why don’t you go show us your ‘curse’.” Norma said coolly.
 “But, what if-”
“Did you lie to us Raz?” Norma’s face changed into false hurt. A hand resting on her chest for dramatic effect. “That’s rude, to lie to your fellow interns.”
Raz felt sick with fear. He didn't want to get anywhere near the murky water. But, he also wanted to prove he wasn’t lying. He tugged at his sleeve, cautiously making his way towards the water. Heart hammering as he stood mere inches from his possibly watery death.
“Well, what are you waiting for?” Norma’s voice broke through the mental panic.
 “What?” Raz squeaked out.
“You said you have to be in the water?”
“...Y-Yeah, or at least c-close to it.”
“Well, get on with it then. Unless you were lying and are afraid of being found to be a liar?”
 “I’m not lying!”
“You sure are taking your sweet time with this.”
“You would too if this was a life or death situation!”
“Please, don’t be such a drama queen. Just admit you’re lying and we’ll go back inside.”
 “Why don’t you just-”
Raz’s reply was cut off, feeling the familiar icy chill constrict his chest. There was a second of seeing the looks of shock and fear of the other interns before his vision turned watery. Arms trapped at his sides, Raz kicked furiously trying to break away. Only for more hands to reach up to hold him further. His last breath of air escaped his lungs and bubbled up to the surface. The light soon faded as he sank lower and consciousness slipped away…
It was like the back of head had been stabbed by a knife made of ice.
Sasha struggled to remain upright. Hand reached out frantically, knocking over some equipment, as he found a perch on the nearby table. The sudden mental shock to the system sent him reeling.
In one second he was being bombarded with emotions of absolute fear and anger, a mental vision of water, and a small cry of ‘Help...me…’.
The next he was teleporting to the lakeside. Finding the group of interns standing by the water’s edge. All pale and scared. Except...one was missing.
“Where is he.” Sasha demanded. Sam merely pointed towards the water.
Wasting no time, the agent dove in. The water was frigid, stinging his exposed skin. It was also difficult to see through it. Dark and filled with debris. He swam downwards as quickly as he could. Trying not to think that Raz might not have been pulled directly straight down. That the child could be anywhere down there. A few seconds in passing was all it took to lose someone.
It was a short moment of relief when Sasha finally spotted Raz. Only for the worry to grow once again seeing the child was passed out. No bubbles leaving him and his skin sickly pale against the dark water. What looked like hands were wrapped around Raz’s lower body, only the head and shoulders seen.
Sasha wasted no time in blasting those hands away. Raz’s form slowed in the descent towards the dirt bottom. The agent moved quickly, grabbing the limp form before the hands could again. With the unmoving body tucked close to his chest, Sasha launched himself upwards to the surface. He gasped for air as he broke the surface. Landing easily on the edge. Ignoring the voices of the worried interns as he laid Raz down. Who was still unmoving.
 “Sir-”
 “Get Milla and Hollis, now.”
Norma nodded quickly and rushed off.
Sasha tilted Raz’s head back, mouth open, and he started CPR. He tried not to show panic as the seconds passed and Raz didn’t stir. Tried to keep his hands steady as all he could think was how cold the child was. Tried to remain calm as nothing changed and Sasha was sure he was about to lose…
“Darling.” Milla had arrived. Kneeling on the other side of the child, looking terrified.
“He’s not responding.” Sasha said weakly.
“We need to get the water out.”
 “I know-”
“Psychically.” Sasha couldn’t argue as his chin was tilted up. Forehead pressed against Milla’s, whose eyes were already closed in concentration. “Focus…”
Letting his shoulders slump, Sasah gave what he could to help. It was difficult at first to find what they were looking for. Sasha was still internally panicking and had to be pulled back by Milla more than once. Only then could they find the unwanted water blocking Raz’s airway. Even so, it was difficult to move the water out. Finding the correct pathway out and not disturbing anything else.
It was a tense few seconds before the water was finally pushed out. Escaping from Raz’s mouth and now hovering as a ball above the violently coughing and gasping child.
“Easy darling, easy.” Milla placed a hand on Raz’s forehead. Trying to calm the frantic child as Sasha tossed the water back into the lake.
 “M...M-Milla?”
“Hush Raz, just catch your breath…”
“What is going on here!” Hollis, with Norma in tow, came storming over. Fear hidden by a look of anger.
Sasha replied with, “Raz was drowning. We were just now able to revive him.”
“Take him to medbay and get him out of those wet clothes. We don’t need him getting a head cold after all of this.”
Milla, with Raz resting in her arms, and Sasha returned to the Motherlobe. Hollis turned to the group of interns. Who all shrunk at the hard eye they were given. “I need someone to tell me why the youngest out of all of you was just rescued from drowning.”
Sam broke. “So Raz was telling us about his life and family and he said that they had all been cursed to drown if they were near water. We didn’t believe him, especially when Norma pointed out how strange it was. But Raz was really insistent and so Norma told him to prove it and he technically did! Just...I didn’t think it would be so scary…”
“So, what I’m hearing is that you all deliberately pushed someone, a fellow intern, into a dangerous stunt. Almost killing him?”
 “But...Norma-”
“None of you stopped Raz or called out Norma’s behavior. You’re all training to become Psychonauts. But this behavior makes me question if you all are even ready for this level. Your job is to help people, not push them into dangerous situations! If you can’t treat those who are supposed to be your teammates with respect, what about those you’re supposed to be helping.”
That caused all heads to drop in defeat.
 “We...should apologize…” Morris offered.
“No, you are not, not right now. You all are going to be scrubbing the inter living quarters. Which you will be spending the next two months. Yes, away from your private quarters. Don’t give me that look, Lizzie. After that, I want a 20,000 word essay about why this was bad and why you won’t be doing this again. Then you will be baking cookies to be delivered to all in the Motherlobe. Finally, you will all have 200 extra hours of training. And then we’ll see if Raz has anything to say about this. ...If he makes it through this.”
 _________________________
It was all a blur. Raz was aware he was out of the water (he could breathe again). But he was now freezing, trying to catch his breath, and exhausted. He knew he was being carried by Milla, Sasha nearby, and both were giving off waves of fear.
His vision was unfocused, a ringing in his ear and his hearing muffled, limbs were heavy. Raz let out a small groan as he suddenly shifted. Shivering weakly at losing the warmth that Milla had been given. Someone lifted his helmet off, rubbing a towel over his dripping hair. Letting out a yelp when his jacket and sweater were removed.
“It’s alright Raz, it’s just me.” Sasha’s voice sounded in the younger’s head.
Soon enough, Raz was dressed in dry sleepwear, wrapped in a thick blanket, laying against someone. He assumed it was Sasha. But he wasn’t quite sure.
He winced again when another hand touched his forehead.
“Just the doctor, you’re safe Razputin.”
An overall check resulted in low body temperature, damaged throat, and no doubt on the road to getting a cold. But, at least he wasn’t dead. Hours passed, nightfall arriving before Raz felt somewhat normal. Surprised that Sasha and Milla had remained the entire time, even after Raz was able to sit up on his own.
“Don’t you both have work to do? What about the mission?” Raz asked, his voice quiet. His throat was killing him.
“We can keep an eye on you and work at the same time,” Sasha replied, “We’re quite skillful in multi-tasking.”
“Unless you want us to leave?” Milla asked. To which Raz shook his head. “Then we’ll stay for as long as you want.”
The child smiled weakly at that. Eyes slowly closing as he felt sleep pull at him. Sinking into the overly cushioned bed and pillow, warmth flowing through him and contained by the thick blanket. A kiss was gently placed on his head while a hand gently rubbed the back of his hand.
 “Sleep well darling.”
 “Get some rest, Razputin.”
The predicted cold arrived hard and heavy. Raz’s throat remained sore, but had a clogged nose and pounding headache added along with it. His days were filled with medicine, soup, and sleep. Lili stopped by as many times as she could.
“First my dad’s sick. Then you’re sick after you almost died. Can things please stop falling apart around me?” She sighed softly. Holding out another spoonful of soup for Raz.
“I didn’t mean to make you worry.” He croaked out.
“Just keep away from the water. And stop listening to those idiot interns.”
 “Deal.”
A week and a half later had passed before Raz could leave the medical ward. And only after Hollis, Sasha and Milla agreed that he looked well enough to do so. He was nervous about returning to the working world, being around the interns again. Not sure if he was mentally ready to face them all again. Even if he had Sasha saying to call him if the teens tried anything again.
Raz stopped outside the door marking the intern living quarters. Allowing himself a few seconds to collect his thoughts before pushing his way in. He froze in the doorway as five pairs of eyes snapped up to him. Raz not realizing he would be seeing the interns so quickly, believing they’d be hiding away in their personal rooms. The tense situation broke when Sam pushed away from her marked desk.
“Raz! We didn’t kill you!” She rushed over, instantly pulling the younger into a tight hug.
 “C-Can’t...breath…”
 “Oh, sorry.”
“Good to see you up and going again.” said Adam, patting Raz’s shoulder as he was released.
“Thanks...I wasn’t expecting to see you all in here.”
“We’re on house arrest...sort of intern arrest?” Morris hummed softly.
Gisu rolled her eyes. “What Morris is trying to say is that Hollis gave us a pretty heavy punishment. Not like we don’t deserve it, mind you.”
“No kidding,” Lizzie added, “Seriously, nothing freaked me out more than seeing you...go under. Are you okay?”
Raz shrugged. “I mean, I’m still here. But I’m still on bed duty for a while. Where’s...um, where’s Norma?”
 “Out on the balcony. Brooding.”
 “...Is she still upset?”
“At you? No. She’s being hard on herself, as usual.”
“Sorry to break this up, but we should be getting back to work. I don’t want to be under house arrest any longer than I need to.” Morris was the first one to pull away. With the rest following to get back to their desks.
Raz passed by them and out onto the balcony. Where he found Norma, as Lizzie said he would. The small table nearby was covered with numerous scribbled papers, a half finished cup of tea holding down a small pile of them. The intern herself was staring off into the sunset.
“Uh, hi Norma.” Raz said weakly.
She casually looked over before returning her attention towards the horizon. “Good to see you’re alive.”
“Uh, yeah, sure am. Just...wanted to come out and say hi.”
“Well, you’ve done it. So...bravo for you.”
Raz’s shoulders fell in defeat. “Okay, sorry, I didn’t mean to bother you.”
“Raz, wait.” Norma gave a heavy sigh before facing the younger again. “Look, I’m… I am sorry. I still don’t think you’re cured.”
 “But-”
“I know, I saw what happened. But curses don’t exist, so I’m not fully sure what happened. However, that’s not the point of this. What I’m trying to say is that I’m sorry for pushing you so far.”
“...You just wanted to see what would happen.”
“That’s not an excuse. You were clearly distressed and you almost died. I don’t know what’s going on. But that shouldn’t cause you to almost lose your life. I need to think about my actions and the outcome for those.”
With that, Norma faced the sky once more and said nothing. Raz took that as the conversation was over and that he needed to leave. So, he did. Walking back into the living quarters and greeted more warmly by the other interns. Laying down on his marked bed, he felt a comforting pulse come from Sasha and Milla. For now, it was fine. Raz just wondered how long that would last with this group.

Three Months Apart
Tommy x Reader
angst + maybe a happy ending?
--------
Today was the day you were going to ask him.
You’ve been with Thomas for over six years. The countless parties and weddings you’ve attended together become more and more intolerable. All because every time you went to them, the more you wanted to have your own.
It didn’t help that your family was pressuring you to it, no matter how against they were of your relationship. Your father often told you, that If you were going to associate yourself with such a dangerous family, might as well make sure you’re officially entitled to their protection.
You gave him the signs, hell even Polly and John started dropping their own hints at him to help you after they figured out what you’ve been trying to do. But as much as Thomas was one of the most intelligent people you know, he seemed to be oblivious about it.
Pacing back and forth outside his office, you were close to backing out when the door opened, revealing Thomas.
“Is there a reason why you’ve been pacing back and forth out here for the last three minutes?” your boyfriend asks you with a smile.
“I uh… wanted to talk.” You answered quietly, walking inside.
Thomas was confused with the nervousness of you voice. Closing the door, he turned to see you already on the seat in front of his desk, fidgeting with your fingers.
“Is there something wrong, Y/N?” He asked you.
“A friend of mine from London is getting married next month.” You don’t know how, but that lie just rolled off your tongue.
“Y/N, you know you don’t have to be nervous about asking me to be your date, right? We’ve gone through occasions like these about a hundred times.” He chuckled.
“Right. We’ve been through a lot of weddings.” You nodded, smiling. “But I never got the chance to ask you the very same thing I often ask my other unmarried friends.”
“Well shoot, darling.” He walked towards you and took the seat opposite yours.
“Do you think they’re making the right decision?" you finally asked him, feeling a rush out of your system. You didn’t even realize how tense this has been making you.
“Frankly, if it’s no benefit for a company, like let’s say an official alliance, then it’s a waste of time and money.” He answered nonchalant, taking a cigarette out of his pocket.
No matter how appalled you were at his response, you tried not to show it.
“Not even if they do love each other?” You felt your throat tighten up.
Thomas sighed. “If they really do love each other, they wouldn’t need to have such a unecessary event to shove it to other people’s face.”
“Good God, Thomas.” You whispered.
“Tom, it’s more than just telling the world how much you love each other. It’s also sealing devotion to each other. Giving them the gift of the right t-to let’s say, visit you in a hospital without having to wait for a real family member tell them that you are indeed the patient’s significant other. Or not having to deal with stupid people labeling you as their whore or temporary piece anymore.” You ranted to him, not being able to hold back in including your personal reasons.
“Is this what this is all about? You let those petty comments in your head even after years of being together?” He asked you, irritated. You stood up from your seat.
“I’m a woman, Thomas. And it’s quiet disappointing that at this time of age, being one still isn’t that significant. I quit my job for you. I left the comfort of my family’s home for you. Everyone I run into knows I’m with you. Now God forbid, but what would become of me if one of your dangerous antics would lead you to your demise? Who would hire a Shelby trash? And I might as well kill myself if I’d have to go back and hear my mother’s non-ending comments about me.”
“You know my family’s still going to take care of you.” He answered quietly, still wrapping his head around your sudden outburst.
“That’s not the point.” At this rate, you were gripping your dress to stop yourself from crying. Not until you ask him one more thing at least.
“Have you even thought about marrying me?” You blinked at him, hopefulness laced your voice.
But for the first time in the years you’ve been with him, Thomas Shelby was out for words in an argument. Your question left his mouth parted, trying to give you an answer.
Your stomach dropped. The defeated look on your face almost pushed him to give you the lie you wanted to hear, but he couldn’t do that to you.
“I understand." You said looking down at your dress and running your hands through it as if an effort to smooth it out, when you were only trying not to show the tears that have finally spilled.
Taking a deep breath, you prepared yourself from the dreadful thing you were about to say next.
"I can’t do this anymore.” You barely said and willed your shaking self to walk out from him that day.
--------
That was three months ago.
You were in your father’s debt for helping you “disappear” off the radar for a little while. He sent you to live with a wealthy distant relative in the countryside, giving you time to pick yourself up and work on your personal happiness again.
It was safe to say that you were getting there, if it weren’t just for your own mind betraying you every once in a while, when you’d unexpectedly think or dream about him.
And of course, there were times where you almost regretted that day. You were already happy, right? But at the same time, it was better than spending more years before realizing he’d never marry you.
Thomas. You hadn’t heard directly from him ever since that day. Of course you gave a haste tearful goodbye to everybody, promising to write to them in the future. But it was a few letters from your sister that gave you a few updates.
She’d told you how he came to your family’s home a bunch of times on the first month, asking for your father’s favor to tell him where you were. On the second month he’d resort to calling every now and then, but on the third, there was nothing.
You guess he’d finally move on. And that was your cue to finally come home.
A few days back in your family’s home, one of your maids handed you an invitation to your name. It was dated a month back, but what caught your attention was that the seal was clearly already opened.
“It got delivered straight to the Shelbys first, miss.” She told you after seeing your confused expression.
Giving her a nod and a small smile, you opened it and saw that it was a formal invitation to a friend’s engagement party, set three nights from now.
“Should I send you sincerest regrets?” She asked you, and you stared back at her. “S-since you just got back from a trip.” She clarified awkwardly.
“No. Just go with me to find a dress tomorrow, please.”
--------
“I almost lost hope that you’d even come, Y/N” your friend hugged you as soon as she got you alone after introducing you to her betrothed.
“Don’t be daft. I’d never miss a chance to see my friends happy.” You smiled at her. “I never even knew you were dating someone.”
“Yeah, it’s for the family’s benefit. We like each other though, so it’s no problem.” She explained, chuckling. “So…” she continued. “Where have you been these past few months? I tried calling but all I got was that you’re out for a vacation.”
“I’m no longer with Thomas. Had to clear my head for a lil bit." You smiled awkwardly. Sooner or later you had to tell people anyway.
“Y/N I- I am so sorry for the invitation mishap. Had I known, I wouldn’t have sent it to his address or listed him as your plus one.” She squeezed your hand in remorse.
“It’s fine, really. You didn’t know.” You assured her.
She was smiling at you in gratitude, but something behind you caught her eye that made her gape in surprise. Curious, you turned your head and saw that it was no other than your ex-boyfriend heading your way.
“Do you want me to get someone to escort him out?” You friend asked in panic. Turning to face her, you took a deep breath to calm yourself.
“No, I’ll handle it. What I want you to do is enjoy your party, okay?” You smiled reassuringly. Giving your hand one last squeeze, she excused herself when Thomas was a few steps away.
Turning to face him, you were surprisingly feeling calmer than expected.
“Mr. Shelby.” You addressed him with a curt nod.
“Can I talk to you in private?” he cut to the chase. You bit your tongue back from making a remark about his lack of greeting, after seeing how his eyes were pleading despite his cold tone.
“Lead the way.” You found yourself saying.
On your way to wherever he was going, you caught your friend’s worried eye, and gave her a playful scolding look for not enjoying herself like you asked. Sure enough, he led you both in an unoccupied room that looked like someone’s study.
As soon as he closed the door behind him, you were taken aback when he suddenly charged at you and engulfed you in his arms. Thankfully, you were quick enough to steady yourself so that you both wouldn’t fall.
“Please don’t ever call me that ever again.” He whispered in your ear, shakily.
“W-wha-“
“Mr. Shelby. Please don’t ever call me like I'm just some associate. I hate it.” He cut you off. Your eyes watered at the tone of his voice. It sounded like he was as miserable as you’ve been these past few months.
Unable to give him any response, he slowly finally let go of you from his embrace and faced you. Looking at him, he was in one of his expensive suits, but that could only take away a little of your attention from his real state.
He had never looked as tired as he does right now, he looked like he lost a few pounds, his skin was paler than usual. You resisted the urge to touch his face.
“I’m sorry.” He finally spoke up.
“I’m fine now, Thomas.” You answered, though the lone tear that rolled down your cheek said otherwise.
“I’m not.” He answered frankly. “These past three months have been hell, Y/N. I kept going to your father, begging him to tell me where you were, until Poll told me that the more I persisted, the longer I wouldn’t see you.” He wiped the tear on your cheek with his thumb.
“H-how did you know I’ll be here?” you whispered, still trying to find you voice.
“I opened the invitation. But I risked going here just without guarantee you'd come.” He explained to you.
“I was in a distant aunt’s home. I just had to get away.” You didn’t know what else to say, so you told him where you’ve been. “It had a big garden, and I was treated really well there. They gave me everything I requested, I got to ri-”
“Marry me.” He told you in the middle of your babbling, catching you off-guard once more. “It was selfish of me to merely think of marriage the way I did, without even thinking about how it would mean for you.”
Recovering from the shock, you shook your head at him.
“No.” You replied sternly.
“No?” the hurt in his tone didn’t go unnoticed.
“I don’t want to force you into doing something you don’t believe in Thomas. I left not because I didn’t love you anymore. I did it because we want different things, and we both deserve to be with someone who would have the same mindset as we do. Because yes, I would’ve just accepted your answer and be content with our relationship. But I knew that along the way I’d start to resent you. I never want that to happen.”
“But that’s the thing, Y/N.” He held both of your arms. “When you left, I thought about everything you said and asked. You asked if I ever thought about marrying you. No, I haven’t, but I always thought about spending my life with you, having kids, owning a home together, and all that hosting events bullshit.” He chuckled. “And I realized that I can have that. But I also want to make it official first.” He added softly.
At this point, you couldn’t answer him anymore as tears prickled your eyes. Then he got down on one knee before your standing figure.
“Now please, Y/N. Will you take me out of my own misery and give me your hand in marriage?” He was already crying too. Who knew that the excruciating past three months would lead you both to here.
But just when you were about to give him your answer, the door suddenly opened, revealing your friend who had worry written all over her face. But it quickly turned into a shocked one when she saw that what Thomas was doing.
“I thought you were in trouble since you were taking too long.” She smiled sheepishly at both of you.
You smiled back at her. Then turned your attention back to Thomas.
“I guess we should invite her first, then.”

Riff x Graziella HC - Why Grazi Wanted to Talk to Tony
A/N: It’s not a secret that I really disliked the random addition of a Tony/Graziella/Riff love triangle in Spielberg’s West Side Story.  For writing purposes, it does add an interesting element of angst, but I’m so annoyed that people who have only seen the 2021 movie now interpret Graziella as being totally hung up on Tony, to the point that she didn’t even care about Riff.  I don’t believe that to be true, and if you’ve seen the 1961 movie, then you’ll know that Graziella adored Riff.  I wanted to write something about that scene in Doc’s towards the end of the movie, to shed some more light on what I believe Graziella was feeling in that moment.  Thank you for coming to my TED Talk.
In a room full of people, Graziella had never felt more alone.  The air in Doc’s, which was normally filled with the sounds of laughter and jokes and loud-mouthed teasing, was suddenly suffocating.  She was vaguely aware of Velma sitting across from her, stroking her arm and assuring her that everything was going to be alright, but she knew that wasn’t true.  Nothing was ever going to be alright again.
Out of the corner of her eye, she was aware of Ice standing tensely by the door and Diesel sitting on top of the pinball machine.  It had been the two of them who had come to meet her, to tell her about what had happened at the rumble--what had happened to Riff.  She could barely remember now, it all just felt like a blur.  In the back of her mind, she thought she might have slapped Diesel, might have screamed at the both of them that they were liars, that Riff wasn’t dead, that Riff couldn’t be dead.
But Riff was dead.
If she hadn’t believed it before, she believed it now, sitting there in Doc’s and staring into the blank and desolate faces of the Jets.  Action.  A-Rab.  Tiger.  Big Deal.  Snowboy.  Balkan.  Numbers.  Baby John.  Mouthpiece.  Skink.  Little Moly.  None of them were able to meet her gaze, just as Ice and Diesel hadn’t been able to.  None of them would tell her exactly what had happened.  They told her bits and pieces, sure--the knives, the fight with Bernardo, what Tony had done after Riff fell.  But none of them would, or could, tell her what Riff had looked like in that final moment.  None of them could tell her what he had been feeling.  None of them had been the ones to pull that blade out of Riff’s chest.
Only Tony could tell her that.  Tony, who had been Riff’s best friend, womb to tomb, sperm to worm.  Tony, who had been the very last one to see Riff alive.  Tony, who had been the one to watch the light go out of Riff’s eyes, the one who had pulled out that knife that had taken her world away from her.  Tony, who had plunged that knife into Bernardo and was now hiding out in the basement beneath her feet.  She needed to talk to Tony.
“I wanna go see him,” Graziella spoke into the tense silence, choking back the tears that had been falling since Ice and Diesel had found her.  “Talk ta him.”  She knew all the Jets had loved Riff like a brother, but none of them were closer to him than Tony.  She needed to hear it from Tony.  She wouldn’t be able to rest until she heard from Tony what had happened to Riff.
“Tony just wants to be alone right now.  He don’t wanna see us,” Ice insisted, looking out the front door instead of meeting her eyes.
“He ain’t alone.  The old lady’s down there with him,” A-Rab pointed out, referring to Valentina.
“Does he know we’re up here?  Me an’ Grazi?” Velma asked, still stroking Graziella’s arm comfortingly.  Velma knew better than anyone else why she needed to see Tony.
“Does he know I’m here?” Grazi demanded.  Tony would talk to her.  He would be willing to see her and tell her about Riff if he knew she was there.  “Tony cared about me once,” she pleaded, growing desperate.  It was the truth.  She and Tony might not have worked as a couple, but they were friends.  He had always cared about her and looked out for her.  He wouldn’t just leave her alone in her grief, not if there was something he could do to help her.  She needed to hear from him what Riff’s last words had been.  He was the last link she had left to the boy she loved.
“He don’t wanna see you, Grazi.  Go home,” Ice told her.  Maybe he hadn’t meant for his words to be so cold, but they pierced her heart all the same.
“We left him lyin’ there.  In the salt shed,” Diesel murmured from his spot on the pinball machine.  “Ice.”
“I know,” Ice replied, shoving his hands in his pockets.
“That’s botherin’ me,” Diesel admitted.
“Bothers me, too, Dies,” Ice confessed.
But it didn’t bother anyone more than Graziella.  Riff.  Her poor Riff.  They’d just left him there, cold and all alone in the salt shed.  Is that what he’d seen in his nightmares, the dreams that had so often plagued him in his sleep?  She had always promised him that he was safe, that she was there and that he would be okay.  But she hadn’t been there this time, and he wasn’t safe and he wasn’t okay.  And Tony was right downstairs and he could talk to her and he could tell her what had happened, but no one would let her see him.  Dropping her head into her hands, alone despite all the people surrounding her, Graziella wept.
@bernardolovesanita I told you I was adding this one to the top of my list, LOL!

SO I can't get Soohyun and Jinjoo as lawful girlfriends out of my head so here's some thoughts from me:
• They definitely meet through Gaon, that's just inevitable. Either from one of those times when Soohyun picks up Gaon from his office or when Jinjoo visits Gaon at his house to work on files of their case together. There are tons of possibilities and if I don't stop myself, this post would be just me writing down a literal fict of these two.
• And one day, Soohyun just asked gaon, "Can you give me Judge Jinjoo's number? You know, for, uhm, emergency purposes. I'm still uncomfortable communicating with Kang Yohan, even when it's something about work or you, so" and of course, Gaon just give it to her.
• Soohyun, after gathering the courage for a whole week, finally sends her first text to Jinjoo. she nearly screamed when Jinjoo immediately texted back excitedly, "Oh!? Soohyun? Yoon Soohyun?! I miss you, are you well? ... we should hang out more often you know, just the two of us!"
• And Then, they goes on to so many different places to hang out after that. Jinjoo is actually a foodie as much as Soohyun is, so most of the times their destination is a viral or new restaurants around the town. Jinjoo is usually the one who suggested the place and Soohyun just happily follows her because 1) Jinjoo's pick never disappoint and 2) she's happy wherever it is as long as she's with Jinjoo. They never run out of things to talk about and Jinjoo makes every topic interesting. but even when they're together in silence, the quietness feels comfortable.
• The more they spend time together, the more they know about each other, Soohyun then realizes that this all feels new yet good to her. it's different from the "love" feeling she thought she had for Gaon, but it doesn't scare her, because why would she? she realized her heart feels like it's jumping to a cloud nine whenever Jinjoo is close to her, how she feels that being with Jinjoo is something that she doesn't know she need and want until she hears Jinjoo's melodic laugh and she wants to hear that forever, want it to be the only thing she ever heard from now on, how much she wanna hold her hand as they stroll through the street, then gives her a goodbye kiss when they have to separate by the end of their "hang outs'' because it'll at least lessening the yearning she feels towards the long haired woman whenever she's not around.
• Their height difference(because Jinjoo likes to wear heels as well)is gonna be so cute and one day Soohyun just couldn't take her eyes off of her(She actually does that a lot and Jinjoo noticer it tok but it take some time for Jinjoo to confront her about it) and Jinjoo, the ever so confident and cheerful Jinjoo, nervously slipping some few strands behind her ear, feeling a bit anxious when the woman of her dreams looking up at her with such an intensity, "w-what is it? is there something on my face?" and Soohyun answered with a low voice, shy, but with a soft smile on her face, "nothing, you just look really beautiful. as always." and Jinjoo might passed out here and there.
• Gaon, eventually being the person that sees both Jinjoo and Soohyun frequently, can't help but noticed that his best friend #1 and best friend #2 often goes missing together for various occasions and times. So, when Jinjoo rejected to join gaon and yohan for dinner at a fancy restaurant after finishing a big case, because she promised to Soohyun that she will celebrate it with Soohyun instead by going to Jinjoo's favorite cafè and to cinema that day, Gaon just blurted out, "what, you guys are dating now?" and Jinjoo just run, leaving Gaon in a complete shock.
• Later that day when Gaon sees Soohyun in front of his house with Jinjoo being the one that drop her off, he teases her, "So this is what the emergency purposes are, Soohyun-ah" and the couple just blushing and stealing glances to each other. Oh and he definitely is going to use the, "Hey hey, don't do that to me. I'm the reason why you finally has a girlfriend, you don't wanna do harm on me or I'll tell Jinjoo'' card on her whenever she's pissed at him and trying to beat his ass.
• Jinjoo would definitely check up on Soohyun a lot, no matter how busy and tired she is at the court. Asking her in the middle of the day if she has eaten lunch yet, what she wants for dinner that day, does she a have a lot works to do today, willing to listen whenever Soohyun rant to her about her equally tiring job, and then telling her to relax, that she's doing a good job and that she can't wait to see her later.
• While Soohyun is more quiet with her love language, in my opinion. she likes to observe and thus, she often prepared coffee and snacks whenever Jinjoo need to stay up due to her job when she noticed exhaustion begin to taking over her, helping her by giving her judge girlfriend some perspectives and inputs as a police officer when some of the cases stressed her out more than usual(#big_brains_lawful_girlfriends), she would massage Jinjoo's tensing shoulders from sitting for hours, and then let Jinjoo using her as a pillow when she finally gives in to Soohyun's words to finally go to sleep.
• You could say Gaon is just as happy as Soohyun is with her and Jinjoo's relationship. At one point he said, "You've been spending a lot of time in your life looking after other people and taking care of them. you deserve someone that's willing to do the same for you wholeheartedly. Have yourself some rest now, Soohyun-ah. I know it's been tiring and hard for you" and if she happen to wipe a tear or two, that is simply nobody's business.
• Later on, to a gala that the powerpuff girls(Jinjoo, Yohan, Gaon)are being invited to, Yohan raised his eyebrows in surprise while Gaon's smiling proudly when Jinjoo arrived with Soohyun as her date, their arms linked sweetly together. She's wearing the blue, sequin dress and Soohyun's a simple white suit. They spend the night parading their love, not once letting go of each other for too long, and they even dance in the middle of the room, letting everyone see how in love they are with each other.
• Oh, that Kang Yohan picture on Jinjoo's desk? it has been replaced with her and Soohyun's picture together in a pastel pink frame from their date in an amusement park. Gaon often sees her taking off her glasses in exhaustion, and then she will reached out for the frame, staring at it for a good amount of time, and get back to work with more energy than before.
• Next thing you know, lawful girlfriends then adopting Elijah. It started with Jinjoo visiting the Kangs house and Elijah saw the photo Jinjoo used as her lockscreen and said, "Isn't that gaon's friend? The one with short hair? You know her too?" then Jinjoo smugly answered, "How could I not know my own girlfriend?" and Elijah just... smiled. She doesn't know why, but maybe it's because of the way Jinjoo looks at the photo on her phone with so much fondness in her eyes and in her lovely smile it's just contagious. Then Elijah just asked, "Let's go shopping together, the three of us. and eat after that too maybe." and how Soohyun and Jinjoo could ever deny Elijah's wish to spend her time together with them whenever she asked them to?
Yohan: She stole my associate judge AND my niece too now? I feel like I barely see Elijah home these days. Kim gaon, tell your best friend that she nee—

A Pirate's Life for a Prince (Part 5)
Summary: Roman was a dashing Captain, content with his exciting life out at sea, diving head first into adventure both on and off land. He wouldn't give up his life for anything, and yet he found himself...lacking something. He was never sure what.
When he meets Virgil, a seemingly common traveler in an old tavern, that lacking feeling in his chest goes away for the first time in a long while. So surely there's no harm in offering the stranger and his friend a ride, right?
Notes: TW for Remus being Remus, threats of violence

part 1 part 2 part 3 part 4 part 6
The throne room was quiet, the guards stationed around the golden walls silent and motionless, the air just as heavy as it had been since news of the missing Prince had made it to the King.
Janus’s eyes were on the blue skies outside glass stained windows, the guards around him staring straight ahead, backs straight, unmoving for hours.
He leaned against the back of the throne with a sigh. The golden throne was grand and elegant, but also old and uncomfortable. It was honestly more for show than for furniture, and his back always protested the hours upon hours he spent in the throne room. He was always staring at the door, waiting for the same boring pointless people to come in with their same boring pointless demands.
It had been a bit more frantic since Virgil had disappeared along with his advisor, but with over a week of no new leads, no way to track down the missing Prince, things had settled back into routine, just coupled with a rising sense of uncertainty and dread.
Janus could barely even remember the last time he’d had a proper conversation with Virgil. They saw each other in meetings, Virgil quiet and nervous, out of place in a room full of adult royals, but that was about it.
He’d stopped by to congratulate the young Prince on achieving adulthood on his 18th birthday, as well as to praise Patton for his success, but that had been almost a year ago now, and they’d barely said a word to each other since.
Janus had never bothered to get to know the boy- too many bad memories, too much responsibility on top of the crown that had been thrust upon him after the death of the Queen.
He’d been given the throne to the kingdom he was never meant to rule, expected to ignore his own grief and confusion in favor of piecing things back together. He couldn’t raise a child on top of that.
Virgil had his mother’s mismatched eyes. Janus still couldn’t bring himself to look at the Prince without a simple glance being accompanied by waves of unwanted memories.
Patton had raised him well in place of any real family, and Janus had paid him enough to support the young advisor for decades.
And now both Virgil and Patton were gone, vanished without a trace in the middle of the night, and Janus didn’t know what to do.
Virgil was the only heir, set to be King in less than a year’s time now. The boy was a wreck. Anxious, timid, unprepared, and unsociable. So Janus had managed to push back the crowning until he was twenty, rather than eighteen like originally planned.
Patton had done his best, but he and Janus both knew that boy wasn’t fit to be King. Not yet, at least. Probably not for a long while.
But there was nothing Janus could do about that. He was never meant to be King, he was simply a placeholder until the late Queen’s son came of age.
He'd been able to keep Virgil from being crowned as an unprepared teenager like Janus had been, but he couldn't keep the crown off his head forever.
But now the late Queen’s son was gone, and Janus was still on the throne, his back still protesting the long, uneventful hours.
He’d been King for nearly a decade. He’d built his kingdom, built a reputation, placed his spies, made sure he had eyes and ears on every corner. The people knew him, respected him (more out of fear than anything, he suspected). The King was always the first to hear anything.
And yet there hadn’t been a word about the missing Prince. Nobody was sure when he left, if he was still in the city, if he’d left on a ship or was just hiding right under their noses. Nobody knew if he’d left willingly or if someone had stolen him.
It had been over a week, and still nothing.
Janus was pulled from his thoughts when the double doors at the end of the hall swung open without any warning or announcement, loud heels clicking against the floor, the guards startling to attention.
“Hell of a place you got here,” the intruder called, weaving around the two guards stationed at the door, expertly avoiding their grasps. “Did you decorate in puke yellow on purpose?”
Janus leaned forward, watching with his one good eye as the man pushed his way into the throne room, grinning as he surveyed the area, avoiding the apparently incompetent guards.
Janus raised a hand, stopping the rest of his men from rushing forward, weapons raised. The day had been never ending and dull, he might as well see how this played out.
Janus kept his eye on the intruder, eyebrow raised. “And who might you be?”
“That’s not important right now,” the man said, finally spinning around to face the throne. “What is important is… holy shit. What happened to your face? It looks like it was on fire and someone tried to put it out with a fork! Like, in a good way. It works.”
He sounded almost awestruck, staring shamelessly at the marred side of Janus’s face, and for the first time in years the King felt uneasy up on his throne, tensing under the gaze.
Nobody looked at his scar. It was common courtesy to pretend it wasn’t there, an unspoken agreement among the people.
“Tell me who you are and what you want before I have you arrested.”
The man gave a dramatic, woeful sigh, crossing his arms over his chest. “You have a kid, yeah? Short, big mop of black hair, crown prince and heir to the throne of Naither?”
That piqued Janus’s interest much more than the bizarre show the nameless man seemed intent on putting on. “My nephew is the heir, and the city is aware there is a reward for his return. If you have information you should have scheduled an appointment.”
“Appointments aren’t really my thing,” he said, looking up with a bright, crooked grin, one hand moving up to brush over his mustache. “The point is, I know where your kid is.”
“Wonderful,” Janus said. “Where?”
The man merely shrugged. “That depends. How much are you paying?”
He kept his voice disinterested and bored, picking at chipped, painted nails. Well, two could play that game.
Janus leaned back in the throne and examined his gloves, black and gold rings glittering in what little sunlight managed to filter in. He saw the man’s gaze fall on the jewels, his eyes brightening hungrily. “I’m sure we could get you a handsome reward for helping to bring the Prince home. If your information is authentic.”
“Well I’m not offering information,” he said, tilting his head to look at Janus. “I’m offering to collect him myself. There are very few people you could trust with the job, you know. You can’t just pick up any rando’ off the streets.”
“I have plenty of people who are more than capable of bringing the heir back home. You’re expecting me to entrust his return to a stranger?”
The man shrugged again. “I won’t share the information with just anyone.”
“You’ll share the information if there’s a knife to your throat.”
The man actually grinned at that, brown eyes brightening dangerously. There was a scar across the left side of his face, that eye a bit glossy, parallel to Janus’s own injury. “Any fool willing to attack the ship he’s on will die. I can guarantee that. Except myself, of course!”
“Is that so?” Janus drawled. “Care to explain why?”
Remus hummed, rocking forward onto the balls of his feet, smug grin only growing. “You’ve not heard of the Calypso? She’s mighty notorious, especially about these parts. And I’d simply not let anyone near her. There’s precious cargo on that ship, you know.”
Janus had heard of the ship, but only vaguely. He tended to ignore rumors of pirates, busying himself with more important things than following those stories. Especially when such stories didn’t often involve the land he was ruling.
Well, he couldn’t exactly ignore the pirates when they were kidnapping the kingdom’s only heir, could he?
“How do I know you’re right about Virgil being aboard?”
“Why, I have written proof from the Captain, of course!” The man bounced a bit on the balls of his feet, leaning forward. “He’s been on board for… nearly two weeks now? They’ll stop in Gladena in about a day's time, and from there be off to Deigh. You can check any record you please, the first mate is absolutely meticulous about it all.”
Janus drummed his fingers along the throne, studying the intruder carefully. He should have this man arrested for daring to barge into the throne room, whether he was telling the truth or not.
He could send someone he trusted after Virgil, but… the Prince and his advisor would be on the lookout for someone they recognized. And despite himself, Janus was achingly curious. "And how long would it take you to get my heir back to me?"
“Well, considering it took the Captain two weeks to get to Gladena,” the man mused, dropping his arms to fold his hands behind his back, swaying slightly. “I could cut them off at Deigh and be back in less than two months.”
It wasn’t… ideal. The kingdom needed it’s Prince back as soon as possible, especially when he was so close to taking the throne. Janus couldn’t keep the fear and uncertainty at bay forever.
But Deigh was a decent way away. Assuming this man would actually do what he said he would, two months was the best they could hope for. It wasn’t a bad offer.
“Very well,” Janus relented with a heavy sigh. “Every day over two months you’re gone, I reduce your pay. I expect Virgil to be returned unharmed.”
“Yeah, yeah. You’re no fun.”
“And I’ll need your name,” Janus said. “I’d like to know who I’m trusting my nephew’s safe return with.”
The man brightened, toothy grin spreading across his face as he put a hand to his chest and bent forward in a mock bow.
“Remus of Lucoria. At your service, your majesty.”
Janus sighed, and some of the guards at the foot of the throne shifted anxiously, no doubt waiting for the order to attack.
As it turned out, there was one pirate Janus couldn’t ignore the rumors about. No one could, with how they seemed to spread with viscosity like no other.
“Ah,” Janus said. He wondered briefly how Remus had managed to dock without word getting to the King, making a mental note to fire his head naval officer. “Wonderful.”
“There we go.” Remus straightened, his grin never faltering. “Now you know who you’re dealing with.”
“And now I trust you to deliver Virgil safely even less.”
“Oh come off it,” Remus said, rolling his eyes. “It’s not like I’m incompetent.”
“You do have a reputation,” Janus pointed out. “And I’d like my nephew back. Not his corpse.”
“I’m ruthless, not stupid. He’ll be alive.”
“He needs to be unharmed.”
“Unharmed is… such a big request these days,” Remus said, turning back to examining his nails. “Should I kiss his booboo if he gets a splinter?”
Janus set his jaw, staring down at Remus from his vantage point up on the throne. He couldn’t remember the last time someone had talked back to him like this, especially in his own throne room. “You should deliver the Crown Prince without injuring him. He’s royalty.”
“Yes, and as am I,” Remus said. “He’s not special.”
“You’re not royalty anymore.”
Remus rolled his eyes once again, turning back to Janus with a smile. “It’s a mindset.”
“Of course it is,” Janus drawled, leaning forward in his throne. “Royalty is power. If I wanted you dead today, your head would be at my feet in seconds.”
Remus laughed then, the sound short and humorless. “I had no problem getting in here, did I? If I wanted you dead today, you would be.”
“Not if you wanted to escape with your life,” Janus said. “But you’re welcome to try.”
“I did say if, sweetheart. I’m not here for that today.”
“Good,” Janus said, keeping his voice cold and sharp. “I still need the Prince back in one piece.”
“Yeah yeah,” Remus agreed, waving him off. “I heard you.”
“Completely unharmed, Remus.”
“Yes,” Remus growled. “I heard you. I’ll kiss all his booboos.”
“Good,” the King said again. “And I trust you’re aware of the reward for Virgil’s return?”
“Oh, I am,” Remus said. “And it’s not enough. I want 3,000. To start.”
Janus scoffed, raising an eyebrow. “To start, huh?”
“I’ve got to be compensated for my time, don’t I?”
“Sure,” Janus agreed. “But I’ll remind you I do have an army at my disposal. I don’t need you for one job. You’ve given me all the information I need to send my own men.”
“The Calypso’s Captain won’t let him go so easily,” Remus said. “And much less to anyone but me. So either I go get him, or he makes it to Deigh and is never heard from again. Your choice.” He said with another infuriating shrug.
There were countless eyes on Janus, the guards watching and waiting, ready to move at the King’s word. Remus was smiling, smug and knowing, and Janus took a steadying, resigned breath.
“Fine,” Janus relented. “I’ll give you 1,500 before you depart, and 1,500 when you return with Virgil.”
“Plus the pre-existing reward.”
The King sighed. He’d pay just about anything to get Remus out of his castle. “Fine. 3,000 on top of the reward.”
Remus smiled again, giving one more fake, flashy bow before sending the King a wink Janus would have anyone else killed for.
He started towards the double doors before pausing and turning back to the King. “How ‘bout a kiss, too?”
“Get out of my throne room.”
Remus cackled, striding past the bewildered guards and pushing past the double doors, the clicking of his heels echoing against the walls. He disappeared and the doors closed behind him, leaving Janus perched on his throne in silence like nothing had even happened.

P!Companions React: Helping A Dissociating Sole
Request: “how about a platonic companions help out a sole survivor who struggles w dissociation? specifically derealization and disconnect from what's going on around them? love love love your work ^v^”
Note: All of the tactics I’ve described here are from my own personal experiences with derealization and methods that I, or other people, have used to ground me! Please keep in mind that they might not work for everybody (and always get permission from the person dissociating first!!)
Cait:
When Cait found out that Sole had a strong reaction, i.e. flinching away from, the harsh smell of the strong, chemically soap they used to scrub off the worst of the filthiest days of being in the Commonwealth, she made a mental note to carry it on her at all times. Whenever Sole told her they’re struggling to stay connected, Cait would wait until the topic dropped and whip out the bar of soap, sticking it under their nose and hoping it would help. Most of the time, the strong smell would yank Sole back to reality, even if just for a little bit.
Curie:
Through trial and error, Curie found the best she could do to help Sole out was squeezing at their arms and shoulders, providing a grounding sensory experience. She’s more than willing to sit in front of Sole and firmly squeeze different parts of their arms until it helps or they wave her off.
Danse:
Danse is the least prepared to help in this situation; the Brotherhood is very much of the view that you do not talk about these things. But if he can be of help, he’s willing to try. Tatos, a common and acridly acidic food, seem to do the trick more often than not. Danse ends up carrying several tatos on his person at all times, to hand over to Sole whenever they ask.
Deacon:
Ever the talker, that’s the first thing that Deacon can think of to help. If they’re safe to do so, he gives them a simple task; cooking, cleaning their weapon, etc (something they’ve done a million times before), and asks them to give him a step-by-step in the present tense. “I’m chopping the fruit,” “I’m cleaning the barrel with oil.” Sometimes this helps Sole feel more connected to their actions.
Gage:
Gage isn’t exactly fantastic at knowing how to help other people; oftentimes, before Sole, that’s the exact opposite of what he was supposed to do. But he does know who’ll help; Dogmeat. Whenever Sole is struggling, he calls Dogmeat over to lay over their lap, lick at their hands, and give tactile sensation by encouraging them to pet his rough fur. Dogmeat’s more than happy to have an excuse to cuddle!
Haylen:
Unexplainably, she’s an expert at this sort of stuff. She has her very own tea recipe, a strong, slightly bitter brew, to make to ground people who are dissociating. She makes Sole drink it slowly while explaining to her what they’ve done so far that day.
Hancock:
Admittedly, Hancock isn’t the best at preventing dissociation. The ghoul spends practically all his time trying to disconnect from reality himself. He tries his best, as he always does, and attempts to keep them engaged in conversation, interacting with the world around them and experiencing sensation.
MacCready:
Mac can be a fan of tough love, more often than one would think. He cares for Sole, but dissociating in the middle of the Wasteland is dangerous. His go to tactic is, if they’re around water, to dunk them in the nearest source. The colder the better. He’ll instruct them into rivers and pods once they’re cleared of danger, or carry a bucket of water to them if he needs and dump it over their head.
Nick:
Nick, similarly to Curie, sticks with physical sensations, but has a slightly different tactic. Once they’re somewhere safe, he sits with them (usually with something else to preoccupy him unless they’re in an extremely bad state) and squeezes their hand, them squeezing back in turn. This can be a hit or miss, but it’s the most convenient and subtle tactic he he has.
Piper:
Once Piper is sure Sole’s comfortable with it and is willing to treat it as such, she encourages Nat to treat it like a game. Without hurting Sole, try to figure out what brings them back to Earth. With Nat in on it, the sisters are moving around their small home, finding things that might be strong enough to trigger a sensory response to help Sole. Smells, tastes, you name it. The most successful result of this tactic was a horribly cooked concoction of the salty-slimy Mirelurk meat atop toast slathered in mashed tato. It was so strong, Sole’s eyes were watering when the mixture was a few feet away.
Preston:
Preston’s too gentle of a soul to resort to Piper’s tactics, unless absolutely necessary, and instead chooses something similar to Gage and Mac. He brings them to the river that runs through Sanctuary, knowing the water will provide a reliable sensation, and encourages Dogmeat to jump in, too.
X6-88:
X6 knows exactly what to do; he carries an Institute version of icy-hot on him, and whenever Sole needs, he slathers it on a strip of cloth and wraps it around their wrists. The temperature fluctuation brings them back down to Earth quite reliably.

Thankful
I sniffed the air with a drool, smelling that delicious roast turkey that my dad was cooking up. It was a family recipe that we had used every Thanksgiving. Dad had never even tried to deviate from it since my mom passed when I was not even a year old. My dad told me it was hers, and cooking the turkey her way made it feel like she was back home for the Holidays.
Thanksgiving has been a big family occasion ever since, though the “family” was just the two of us. My dad valued that family time more than anything. After what happened with mom, he was absolutely devastated for the longest time. But he worked hard to make his way up through the ranks, and told me every single day to be grateful for what I had so I could have a good future myself.
“Ritchie! The turkey is ready! Come eat dinner with your old man.”
I opened my drawer and pulled out a jar filled with a translucent, red liquid along with a syringe. “Coming, dad!” I pondered if this was really the right thing to do. With a sigh, I put the serum back. No, he had done a wonderful job of being a role model parent. I had bought this serum from the shady kid at school before we graduated, and he told me it could turn the victim into a suit by emptying them out. A wearable suit. My dad didn’t deserve that. He had worked hard and chose not to abandon me when he could have.
I ran downstairs and saw the delicious Thanksgiving feast before me. Roast turkey, mashed potatoes with gravy, a homemade pumpkin pie, and a beautiful salad. I immediately sat down and started eating as my dad watched with a grin. ”Oh come on, no thank you?  On Thanksgiving?” He said jokingly.
“Thanks, dad. And...I want you to know I’m thankful for everything. I know I’m going off to college soon, so...I mean, you’ve worked so hard to....to provide everything for me and get me where I am, I wanna be thankful.”
Dad smiled, almost looking like he was on the brink of tears. “Let’s just eat, alright?” He started to dig in with me as we had a delicious Thanksgiving feast together.
-----------------------------------------
A few hours after dinner, and I rested in my, eyeing the drawer with the bodysuit serum. Perhaps I could use it on someone else, someone who might deserve it.
Knock knock
Startled by the unusual late night disturbance, I opened the door to see Dad standing there, shirtless. Looked like he was getting ready to go to bed.
Tumblr media
“Hey, Ritchie, you mind if I come in?’ He gave me the most wholesome smile, a reminder of the close bond we had.
“Yeah, sure, what’s up?”
He walked in and plopped himself onto my bed, hunched over with his legs spread out as he rubbed his hands together.
“Hey buddy, you’re going to college soon, and...I know, I know, maybe it’s not a big deal for you or whatever. I mean, you took this gap year, and you’re probably tired of your old man by now.” His body tensed up as he chuckled before giving a long sigh. ‘I just wanna say I’m really proud of you, and I’m thankful for you. I know sometimes...I know you told me that sometimes you feel guilty, because I had to raise you as a single parent...but I don’t regret it at all.”
My eyes teared up as I head his words. It was true, it felt awful. He never gave me up for adoption, he was never selfish, he had been the role model parent for me. Accepted me the way I was. Even with my homophobic grandparents, my father had told me he didn’t care, because I was his son. He had supported me every step of the way. He never went out looking for another woman, truly in love with my mother, and wanting to give me 100% of his attention.
“Dad...I have to be honest. I don’t want to go to college. It just...it doesn’t seem right to me. But-”
“You’re an adult, Ritchie. You get to make your own decisions. If that’s how you feel, go that route. Don’t let your old man try to live your life for you. I worked hard so you could have the life you want, not for you to be unhappy. I’ll support you, no matter what choice you make.”
At a loss for words, I jumped out of bed and hugged Dad and felt his arms wrap around me.
“Dad, I really meant what I said earlier. I couldn’t have asked for a better father.”
“I love you, son. No matter what, don’t ever forget that.”
As I hugged him, the option tugged at my conscience. in his compassion and fatherly affection, the guilt ripped me apart. I wanted it more than ever.
I got up from him and turned to the drawer. As he got up to leave the room, I said, “Wait, uh...I’ve um...got something for you.”
“Yeah? What is it, champ?”
I opened the drawer and slipped the syringe through the top of the jar, watching the liquid seep into the it.
“Just...uh...hold on a sec, alright?”
He gave a deep chuckle. “Yep, I’m waitin’.”
“I’m really sorry, Dad.”
I looked behind me and saw his concerned face. He was loving and supporting, and wanted to comfort me. “I already told you Ritchie, I’m proud of you. I don’t want you to feel gui-”
I swiftly turned around and jabbed Dad in the neck with the syringe, injecting him as he was startled. He pulled my hand away and pushed me back.
“Ritchie, w-what the hell was that?” His large, meaty hand patted his neck as he gave me a confused look.
“A...a bodysuit serum. I’m really sorry, Dad.”
“What the hell is that? What did you do? Is this some kind of prank?”
“N-no...I don’t....I don’t know...” I felt great guilt as Dad suddenly started groan and cup his face in his hands.
“Oh...fuck...i-it burns! WHAT DID YOU DO?” He tried to leave the room, but I wrapped my arms around him and pulled him back in, covering his mouth as he yelped. He was, of course, much stronger and bigger than me, but even in this moment of peril, he wasn’t willing to hurt his son. He pushed me back slightly as he fell back and hit the wall, slumping as his head hung down, struggling to keep it up.
“Fuck...Ritchie, please, call an ambulance! W-what are you doing?”
“It’s gonna turn you into a suit. I’m gonna wear your skin, Dad.”
His face was a mixture of confusion and horror. “THIS ISN’T FUNNY, RITCHIE!”
“I already told you, I’m really sorry Dad...but I’m gonna have your body. I’m gonna wear that skin of yours!” I menacingly approached him, still unsure if this was what I wanted to do.
“W-What do you mean? Did you...drug me?” The pain appeared to be ramping up as Dad’s face contorted and he wiggled against the wall, yelping every now and then while he clutched his stomach.
“I told you I didn’t want to go to college. I’m really sorry to say this...but I’m going to go straight to work, Dad. I want to wear your skin. I want to live your life, talk to your friends, do your job...please don’t make this harder than it has to be. It’s just because you’re the man I want to be.”
Dad started to cough as he looked slightly paler than before, wrestling out what words he could. “W-what are you going to do?” He clenched his jaws as he built up the courage the ask. “You’re creeping me out Ritchie! W-what do you mean wear my skin? You’re not a monster!” He stumbled over his words in terror, in denial of his fate.
“Nothing like that! I just know that I can’t wait to slide into you, slipping into your empty, lifeless skin, stretching every wrinkle of yours, and to talk to everyone...and not a single person will know. I really am sorry.”
Looking disturbed by his own son’s words, Dad tried again for the door. This time, I managed to grab him and put him in a chokehold.  I could feel him getting softer as he was turned into a suit, and he was a lot weaker because of it. He started to panic with shallow breaths as I watched his bare feet scrape against my bedroom carpet, desperately trying to get out of my grasp. I could feel him almost ready.
I stood up with him still in a chokehold and moved to drag him over to the bathroom. I kicked open the door and turned on the light, I threw Dad forward as he hit the bathtub.
“I told you, I’m thankful for you, Dad. You’ve given me so much, and you’re about to give me everything.”
I grabbed him by the shoulders and pushed his head into the tub as the goo started to eject from his mouth. My very unfortunate father flailed and attempted to back up from the tub, gaining momentary freedom. “R-RITCHIE! STO-MMMMPH!!!”
I quickly slammed his face back towards the tub when I noticed him desperately clenching his mouth to keep the goo inside, trying to retain what little was left of him. I reached my left arm over his face and the right under his chin. I used both of my hands to clip onto his lips; I knew Dad wouldn’t bite me, he was too good of a father. With my left arm and held his upper face steady as I pulled his mouth open with my right hand. He whimpered as he looked at me, as if one final plea to talk. Slowly, but surely, his mouth started to open with a cry as he weakened. Prying his mouth open, Dad shuddered and yelped as the goo plopped out of his mouth. Clearly unable to fight for any longer, I released the pressure and grabbed him by the hair with my left hand. I could feel his head almost...folding in on itself, as it emptied. I tugged his head back into the tub until Dad was mostly deflated and empty. His hands let go of the tub and fell to the ground in a folded pile, while his legs had completely folded at the knees, while his face drooped into the bathtub. I felt a severe guilt. Dad, the man who had given me everything, who had been supportive of me, who had been the best father he possibly could’ve been, was gone. All that was left was this bodysuit of him.
I grabbed his hand, and noticed there was some goo left in him. I picked the arm of the suit up from the fingers and squeezed out the remaining goo as it fell right out from his mouth, until he was completely empty. Turning on the bathtub, the goo sunk into the drain.
I grabbed the bodysuit by the scalp and held it up, and his shorts and underwear slipped off. I could just barely hold the suit so Dad’s feet wouldn’t touch the ground; he was a man of incredible stature. Every crevice of his folded over itself, while the mouth and eye sockets dragged downwards, creating an O-face with bags. Even though I knew it was me who did it, the macabre visual of my own father’s lifeless skin could only seek to unsettle me. I intended to remedy that.
Dropping the bodysuit to the floor, it fell as a haphazard pile of skin and hair with a slap. I took off my own clothes and tossed them onto the floor. I hooked my fingers onto Dad’s lips and started to stretch his mouth as wide as I could. I dipped my toes in, forcing one foot through Dad’s body, then the other, until both fit snugly into his feet. I wiggled my new toes, significantly thicker and with little tufts of hair on each one. I tugged harder at his mouth as I slipped Dad’s skin on, feeling his powerful legs overtake my own. I flexed my trunk thighs in awe, enjoying seeing his beautiful daddy legs move to my command. I had to stretch the suit to it’s limit to slip my hard cock into Dad’s fuckstick skin. Christ, the thing was massive. I shimmied into his ass, feeling it perk up. Dad was always such a humble guy, and of course, I hadn’t got to see him naked until now. He truly had an amazing body, it almost made me sad to imagine all that he missed out on in his loyalty to Mom. I gazed at myself in the mirror, satiated by the thought of my supportive and caring father, being turned into a sexual object by his son. The empty arms swung from my hip as I checked myself out, while the skin of his torso and head clumped around my waist. I continued to pull at Dad’s mouth, slipping my arms into each arm of the suit. His hands were strong and his fingers thing, veins running down the arm. A sign of masculinity and impressive musculature. Finally, I grabbed the upper lip from behind my head and, using my newfound strength, pulled the upper lip over my head as Dad’s face stretched to ludicrous proportions while I tried to stuff my own head into his, almost threatening to tear.
I blinked a few times, and looked in the mirror. I was the spitting image of Dad, quite literally. Humble, supportive, friendly, caring Dad. Perhaps I need to start referring to myself by name. Alan. I was Alan, single father of Ritchie. I could only give myself a devious smirk in the mirror. As I started to jerk off this new fuckstick of mine. It was insanely sensitive, from nearly two decades of loyalty and family dedication. I rubbed it intensely as I recalled the events of the night. I did feel awful about what I had done, but there was such a dark appeal to it. I had decided on not turning  Dad into a skinsuit...but when he came in, and sat there on that bed, the impulse was too much. Recalling the nights events of pulling on Dad’s skin, and getting to see myself in control of his body...I ejaculated onto the mirror with a loud moan, rolling my neck as I felt the wave of pleasure overtake my body momentarily. The seed was thick, and I was able to roll it off the mirror and eat it up. I stretched a bit to fully situate myself in my new skin and picked up the underwear that I had been wearing, ready to slip it on and go to bed. A thought passed my mind as I stared in the mirror, ready to be just as good of a man that Alan had always been.
Once again, Dad endured so many trials, to give me everything. Quite literally  this time.
And I was finally, truly, thankful.

summary: Caustic doesn’t always focus all of his attention on you, but when he does, you’ll never forget it
Caustic is a fickle man. He wants things to be precisely as he intends them to be. He strives for nothing if not accuracy in his results.
Caustic is not the most attentive lover. To this, he’ll freely admit. He sometimes wonders, deep in his work, why you waste your time with him. He adores you, of course. You make him feel things he’d not thought himself capable of for many years. But there are only so many hours in a day, and he’s unable, and sometimes unwilling, to devote many of them to you. When he does occasionally make his way to bed in odd hours of the night, he’s too exhausted to do much more than throw an arm over you and pass out.
But when he’s decided he wants you, there’s little that can stand in his way.
Make no mistake. One word from you, and it could all be over. But therein is another thing he adores about you— you never feel the need. There are times when he gets into these obsessive moods— where he’s as fascinated by your body as he is by his work.
And what a responsive body it is. So willing and pliant for him. And he doesn’t take it for granted. So rarely is he afforded the pleasure of working with willing subjects. Given the unpredictable and often untimely nature of these moods, the two of you reach an agreement— that he can take you as he pleases, when he pleases.
Which is how you’ve woken up tonight, slowly, with a burning pleasure building in your gut after a few pleasant dreams. When you’re finally able to will your eyes to stay open, you glance down your body and are met with an acidic green gaze, the feel of Alexander’s facial hair rough against your thighs. He sucks at your clit with an obscene wet sound before parting, making you whine.
“And so she wakes,” he murmurs, finger catching at your hole shallowly as he admires his own handiwork. Your cunt is glistening, a sizable wet spot decorating the sheets beneath your hips. “Even unconscious you manage to be so… wonderfully responsive to my touch. An ideal specimen.”
He pushes his finger in with no resistance, stroking at that little soft spot within you with practiced precision, the place that makes his rabbit tremble. You tense nicely around his finger in a way that makes his cock throb.
“How many times do you think you’ve cum from my touch tonight, dear? Be honest,” he cautions, working his thumb against your clit in a way that makes you squirm against the firm hold he has on your hip.
“T-twice?” you huff, in a haze of sleepiness and pleasure clouding your thoughts.
“Close,” you hear him grin, “but not quite. This one will be your fourth, dearest. Seeing as you’re awake,” he rocks his fingers slowly through your slick, savoring the obscene, wet noises that are coming from your cunt under his ministrations. “I’ll let you decide how you want it. Would you like it from my tongue, my fingers? Or…”
You hear him hoisting himself up, followed by the light rustle of some fabric. A hot, heavy weight comes to rest on your stomach, and you yelp quietly at the sensation, much to Caustic’s amusement. You’re surprisingly reactive for someone who’s just woken up. A low laugh rumbles through his chest.
“Do you think you deserve to cum on my cock?”
You know how this works. What he expects. Nothing less than explicit communication, he’d once said. He wants you to beg. And you’re too strung out and tired to think of resisting.
“On your cock, please,” you murmur, “I want to feel your cock stretch me a-and… I want you to cum too. Please?”
When you feel his grip on your hip tighten, you know you’ve got him.
“Such a good little rabbit, begging for my cock. So sweet… Very well. As you wish.”
His large hands slide beneath your thighs to push them back against you, effectively bending you in half. You feel his hot, velvety tip prod against your opening a few times as Caustic plays with you, savoring the feel of your entrance clenching desperately for him, before he pushes in. With all of his preparation, he’s able to bottom out in a single, drawn-out thrust, which isn’t always easy given his size.
“Alexander,” you huff, chest heaving at the overwhelmingness of it all. He perks up a little at the use of his full, real name. You’re one of precious few who know it, and the only one he allows to use it. He has no regrets about it— doing what he did in the pursuit of his research— but he’ll admit that something in him longs for a certain sense of… recognition from time to time. His palm comes up to cup your cheek, stroking his thumb across the heated skin tenderly.
“I’m here, dearest,” he all but whispers, his bright green gaze looking over you in what you might dare call reverence. “I’ve got you.”
Caustic doesn’t usually care for such vague and imprecise language, often regarding such cliché romanticisms as empty platitudes for the unrealistic. But in certain moments, such as this one, he finds such broad, sweeping expressions to be exactly what he needs. He wants, no, needs for you to feel held by him, in every way you could ever need. Even if in the morning he gets swept up in the fervor of furthering his work once again. He needs you to know that your being far more than he deserves is not something that escapes him.
His thrusts are slow and deep to start, pushing you into the mattress in a steady rhythm. The smug grin pushes its way back up his face as he begins hitting that place that has you fluttering against him nicely.
“My good little rabbit, letting me have my way with you whenever I please, without a single complaint… I’d say that’s worth a reward. What do you want?”
“Y-your cum. Ha, fuck-- w-want you to cum in me, Alexander!” you plead. You stare at him with eyes that, for all of his callousness and inhumanity, he can never bring himself to refuse. He fucks you harder, not overly fast but still deep, and with how sensitive your pussy is, it’s more than enough to bring you to the edge. You arch your back and cry out in sobbing gasps, not at all dignified, but exactly the result Caustic strives for when he fucks you raw.
You’re almost painfully sensitive now, and if Alexander didn’t have you pinned to completely, you’d be squirming away from his thrusts, which are starting to stutter. He leans further into you, moving one hand to your mound where his thumb finds your clit, the other to your throat where he squeezes just enough so that you can hear your pulse rush in your ears.
“Cum once more on my cock, and I’ll claim you like you deserve.”
Overstimulated, you don’t stand a chance against his ministrations. Tears gather and leak from the sides of your eyes. He presses his mouth against yours, devouring your cries as they leave you without hesitance. When you cum again, your insides fucking milk him, just the way he likes, and you feel him spill into you in hot spurts.
His breathing is more than heavy, it’s labored as he practically throws himself off of you to lay at your side. He coughs deeply, and painfully for a few moments, but the fit ends just before you start seriously worrying. He goes through some ragged deep breaths before extending his arm to rest behind your pillows at the headboard. You know him well enough now to recognize the invitation, scooting yourself to his side and pulling yourself up to lay your head on his chest, his arm curling hesitantly to encompass your waist as he considers your crucial place in his world. His voice rasps, a sudden soreness and exhaustion from his performance and his condition. It’s so quiet you wouldn’t have heard it if you hadn’t been right next to him.
“You know that I love you, don’t you?” You have to know, for his own sake. He shows you in what meager ways his shattered sense of priorities allow him to. And he needs you to tell him that you know.
“Yes, I do. I do know,” you say. No ‘of course’, no ‘how could you ask that?’ No compensation for an insecurity that you don’t have. “And you know that I love you, don’t you?”
“Without question.”
