A question to certain fidget toy owners:
To anyone that has any Sensory FX Elements toy(s), do yours glow in the dark? I have the lightning bold and I found out it glows in the dark after I noticed it lit up while I was in bed!
So I'm assuming the sun, which also has beads, glows too? Does anyone thats reading this have the sun?

So I’ve been having issues with the commercials being unbearably loud while watching Hulu, like to the point that I don’t want to watch certain shows bc I know it’s especially bad. And apparently the FCC has regulations that Ads can’t do this on TV like the ad can’t be louder than the average volume of the show/channel, but companies keep finding a way around it when it comes to streaming. So Hulu is “working on this issue” and in the meantime, a few articles recommended turning on volume leveling on my tv. But apparently, bc of the model of Roku tv I have, I can’t turn this on unless I hook up $150 wireless Roku speakers.
This is about to be my fucking villain origin story

apoligizing 4 not being around with ygo headcanons
+ other silly similar character stuff, mostly ahout ryou (caus hes my favorite little boy!)
ryou gets a little jealous of joey and his good relationship with his sister. because of ryou's own dead sister 💔, he sees a little bit of amane in serenity, but he tries not to think about it too much or he gets real sad real fast.
yami loves the beach and loves sand but yugi would rather go to a water park (hates sand) (sensory issues)
ryou has a small knife collection and can do a few tricks with them, yami bakura doesnt understand the concept of a knife not meant for stabbing. Thinks its Stupid
casual truth or dare game with the ygo gang but someone asks ryou for his biggest secret and its something along the lines of "i almost dug up my sisters corpse once" and everything goes silent
yami and grandpa should interact more. just like random interactions where yami has to clarify hes not yugi right now Which makes things only a little awkward.. but that wont stop grandpa from making late night snacks and yami happily eating them
bakura makes everyone watch old horror movies with him, and everytime someone dies he explains the practical fx they used for it in great detail (all the while joey is terrified) (but trying to hide it)
Yami would say "back in my day" and then proceed to describe 3000+ year old customs
yugi would try to get him to help with his history homework "Okay well sorry to disappoint but this was way before i died, that was way after- and also your textbooks are Very wrong"
escalators would make yami uneasy "Why do they move like that." despite this, he is completely fine with the dueling arenas with the booth things that go zhwoop
yugi owns demonias. for the height. yugi thinks theyre annoying to put on but yami will wear them every chance he gets cause he loves them as much as yugi

Anyone else wonder
Why so many adhd/autism folks (among many other groups in the neurodivergent and disability communities that I cannot speak for) love 'kids' cartoons so much?
Like I wonder about the psychology behind their popularity.
Could it be a form of sensory seeking? Animation tends to be more dynamic and artistic, I would argue there are more things you can do with art and drawing than with special FX and CGI (in that there is more space to experiment and mix mediums).
Maybe it's simply an escapism thing? Society is not really made to accommodate us so why would we want to see that same world we struggle to relate to in fiction?
Attached to that: a representation thing? Characters traits tend to be more exaggerated. It can be easier to understand intentions, subtext etc that we may sometimes miss IRL. Plus, I more often see coding that makes us feel seen and understood in animation than in live-action work (though I understand both are slowly changing to be more inclusive, and there is ofc my own bias towards animation that limits the information I receive).
I'm just so curious about it.
Also I realize there are plenty of folks from these communities who watch live-action work and prefer it too lol, I just see a lot of cartoon chatter online with these groups.

on the flipside there’s also something to be said for practical fx being “realer than reality.” the feeling that i can reach out and touch and inhabit all of a miniature town like i can’t necessarily for an actual place. the way an animatronic or stop motion creature has more weight to it, more detail than any irl animal. they are so tangible. even more tangible than my own world around me. they exist in this beautiful tactile sensory dimension one level up from the real.

- she has far way more musical talent than her record label allows her to display, mainly because she has to keep with the cute and digestable pop idol persona. they deprive her from creative liberty.
- severely anemic.
- claims to be allergic to garlic, which she’s not. she just hates it a lot for some unknown reason.
- she actually doesn’t enjoy being an idol, or a celebrity as a whole, due to all of the bad things it has brought her. the main reason why she keeps doing it is because of her devoted fans. and the love for her art.
- raised catholic. (idk, but to me she screams rural area catholic-raised girl.)
- struggles a lot with sensory issues.

- enjoys obscure monster and body horror movies with cheap effects. they don’t even have to be good, they just need to have cool creatures.

- also I feel like her and anri could’ve really understood each other on a very deep level, is kinda sad that we didn’t see much of the celty, anri and ruri trio. :(
- struggles with night terrors and nightmares due to ptsd.
- favorite movies are perfect blue (although she can’t watch it often because it’s really triggering to her), possession (1981), nosferatu the vampryre (1979) and house of the 1000 corpses.

"Hi"s! I renamed myself just by adding a "lil" to it. Still sfw!
Also, I got new thingies today!

In Fragile X syndrome (FXS), the most common cause of autism, sensory signals from the outside world integrate differently, causing them to be underrepresented by cortical pyramidal neurons in the brain. Previous work has suggested that FXS and autism spectrum disorders are characterized by a hyperexcitable cortex, which is considered to be the main contributor to the hypersensitivity to sensory stimuli observed in autistic individuals. The finding opens the door to new strategies to support those with FXS and possibly other autism spectrum disorders to correctly perceive sensory signals from the outside world at the level of pyramidal neurons in the cortex.

These are the most recent fidget toys I have gotten. They are sensory FX bars that I bought from Walmart. I have been wanting to get them for a bit, but $10 didn't seem very reasonable for just one, but I got them for $1 each. I bought 6 of them and asked if I could also take the display box since it was empty (there were 2 other full boxes). They gave me the okay to take it (aside from one of the workers who assumed I was stealing, but I made it past that), and now I have 7 total. I wanted the keyboard one the most and the joystick one as well. The joystick I got from the display inside the box and it was a bit tricky to get it out. I am really happy with them overall. I would rate them around a 8/10.
