there's always a lot of talk about how being gay or trans is a "sin." and a lot of people have reclaimed this, have joked about their "sin," have held it up yourself so it can't be held against you.
but to all of the religious queers, the ones trying to find or create a home in themselves where their identity and their religion don't contradict... i see you. i've been you, i am you, i love you.
your orientation is not a sin.
your gender is not a sin.
you are not sinful or wrong or bad just for being who you are.
your identity does not contradict your religion.
you are beautifully and wonderfully made, just as you are.
you are loved by your creator, just as you are.
nobody can take any of that away from you.
[ please do not tag or censor my use of the word queer. do not derail this post by talking about how much religion sucks. ]

that homophobic artist is kinda funny to me bc, like, Philza would ban her in his + his friends chats, Cleo and Wels made fun of people like her on twt not that long ago, multiple Traffic members are queer, and all of them have vocally supported queer people during pride month like, why are you here ?

Being a queer Christian is just like yes I love God. No God doesn’t hate me. Yes the church is fucked up. No God and the church are not the same thing. Yes I will sing His song until I breathe my last. No your hate will not stop me from doing so. Let me love my God and my queerness in peace, please.

some of you aren't cool gay rights activists. some of you just needed a reason to justify your unreasonable hatred of religion so you don't look like a bad person so you picked "defending gay rights". it's gotten to the point where if a religious person supports gay rights, you will rip them to shreds. supporting gay rights means supporting the rights of gay religious people too, but some of you can't accept that because it means that your excuse for mindless hatred is suddenly worthless.

honestly im thinking about how hannibal is a firm believer in god but like he also doesnt really say which god. which is soooo funny to me because he sure as hell isnt catholic / christian, because he knows of and follows the teachings of (not in a religious sense, but in the sense that one might follow the news or whatever) other religion’s gods. but in that same vein, he’s also self-identified as a monotheist, so he places his faith in only one higher power, but still recognizes and indulges other deities and religions. he’s sort of accepted and delved really deeply into multiple branches of organized (and unorganized) religion spanning over many different cultures and yet its still unclear which religion he really does follow. he’s made himself above religion while functioning within the inner gears of religion, if that makes sense ??? like he’s set himself on a pedestal that is above the other religions while still relying on those religions to hold his stand up. something something the ripper likes playing his own god.

the book of job can be a very queer book actually. it's all about how you can't actually just hold to theological propositions totally divorced from reality and personal experience bc you think the world doesn't make sense otherwise. it's about clinging to your own righteousness even as your 'friends' try to drag your name into the dirt bc it threatens their elaborate theological diorama of the world where everything is nice and neat. it's about how pain and suffering is not a punishment for something wrong with you. and it's about struggling with God, and understanding that in the end we know nothing and can say nothing, and yet if we resolve to speak our truth perhaps in the end we can be judged to have spoken rightly of God like his servant Job.

What kind of lord would order a father to kill his own son, He’s the only lord we have, the lord of our ancestors, the lord who was here when we were born.
