I’m still here (phil coulson x fem!reader)
Requested; no
Relationship; Phil Coulson x fem!reader
Type of fanfic; angst with a happy ending
Warnings; kidnapping, slight depictions of violence, murder (let me know if I missed something)
Wordcount; 1190
Timesetting; S3 i believe, Wards girlfriend has just been shot yk?
Summary; You have been in a relationship with Phil Coulson for a few months, but he never told you he was a shield agent. After Grant Ward saw his girlfriend bleed out in his arms, he kidnapped you to get revenge on Coulson. Coulson comes in to save your ass.
You were casually sitting on a bench, in the quiet park you chose to eat your ice cream in. It always amazed you how little people came here, because the nature around you looked magnificent. Maybe it was for the best; if a lot of people came strolling around here, it would not look as clean and beautiful as it did anymore. You saw a notification pop up on your phone and smiled when you saw it was Phil, sending you a message. “Would you like to go eat something at the Italian across the street the evening? I’m paying an unexpected visit because of work” it said. You immediately answered; “Great, does 8.30 sound good to you? Or do you still have work?”. It took him a minute to respond, and his reply said; “Sounds great, I’ll call the restaurant asap. See you there!” You always loved it when Phil had time for a date, even though you would keep dating him even if you never got to see him in person again. The fact that such a wonderful man was ebough to make you forget about the suspiscions you had about him being some type of mafia boss. He had the muscles for it - and the stamina- but that could just be his training schedule. You got up from the bench, grabbing your purse and heading home to get ready, you wanted to be on time to savour each moment you got to spend with him. He was gone because of work most of the time, saying he worked with some type of billionairs company you had never heard of. Well, it’s not like you are spending most of you time looking up the names of company’s anyway.
Time skip brought to you by; Mack chopping Coulson’s hand off
You arrived at the corner of the street at 8.24. You were wearing a red flowy wrap skirt that stopped right above your ankles, topped off with a white blouse. You knew you were early, but Phil was always either late or early. The fact that he wasn’t here yet ment that he was going to be late. You sighed, but then grabbed your phone and texted him, “Hey Phil, I’m here a bit early; would you mind if I went inside of the restaurant already?” It only took him half a minute to respond -that’s weird, he never responds that quickly, even if he expects a text it takes time...- the answer was; “Ofcourse I don’t mind darling, I’ll be there any minute.” You stopped thinking about the fact that he responded that quickly, or about the fact that his texts didn’t sound like him at all and walked inside the restaurant. Big mistake.
5 guns were pointed at your head the moment you stepped into the restaurant. They all had masks on, making it unable for you to see who they were. You froze in shock, your mind going a thousand miles per hour, and every possible scenario was running through your head. They concluded the same thing; Phil wás a mafia boss, and they were his enemies. They hacked into his phone, using it as bait for me, to later use me as bait for him. Someone grabbed you from behind you, and you screamed. You felt a gun on the side of your head and the man behind you said; “Stop screaming or I won’t give Coulson a chance to explain himself and leave your lifeless body here for him to find”. You immediately shut up, but internally you cept screaming. Hoping Phil would hear it, and come save you. The man behind you was given a cloth by one of the masked men, and he put it in front of your mouth. You immediately stopped breathing in and out, pretending to slowly fall asleep in his arms. He calmely said; “I know you are not passed out yet. Breathe in. Now. Or you will never see your beloved Coulson again.” You couldn’t hold your breath anymore, and breathed against the cloth. You slowly felt your conciousness slipping away, and the only thing you could do was pray that Phil would come and save you.
Time skip brought to you by; “Hey, Mack hammer; can’t touch this” ~can’t touch this track begins to play~
You slowly woke up, feeling you were tied up in a chair. “I see you have finally woken up, took you long enough”, said the voice of the man who had held the cloth in front of your mouth before you passed out. You assumed he was the leader of the “team” that had kidnapped you. You looked at him, and smiled at you. Not a friendly smile, but an “I’m going to skin you alive and enjoy it” smile; it scared you. “Do you know why you are here, darling?”, he said tountingly. Only Phil was allowed to call you that. “I’ll take that scilence as a ‘no’ then.” He slowly stepped closer to the chair, and you almost believed he could smell your fear. Than he said; “Coulson has wronged me. You are going to fix that.” “Whatever you think I know about Phil; I don’t. I didn’t even know he wasn’t a normal buisness man untill today.” You answered with a shaky voice. You startled when you heard a gun shot. And were even more startled when the man who was talking to you fell forward; right on top of you. You heard a fight happening, but closed your eyes. You just couldn’t look at it.
After a while it stopped, and you heard Phil’s voice saying;  “Darling, darling can you hear me? Please, say something.” You were still in shock and didn’t answer, and you heard Phil sobbing softly. “Please, I can’t lose you like this.” You snapped out of it and said; “I’m here Phil, I’m still alive” You heard footsteps and felt the man being lifted up and thrown to the side. You slowly opened your eyes and saw Phil looking at you with concern in his eyes. “Phil? Phil what’s going on? Are there more men coming?” He started untying your wrists, and said; “It’s alright darling, it’s over now. Nothing can hurt you now, it’s just you and me.”
After he had untied your hands he looked at your face, and wiped away the tears you hadn’t realized were falling. “I’m sorry if you don’t trust me anymore after this. I promise you I tried to shield you away from this, but I guess I should have known it wouldn’t work out. I’ll explain everything soon, and after that you can choose wether you ever want to see me again.” You looked at him and said; “Phil, do you hurt or kill people who don’t deserve it? Are you cheating on me?” He quickly answered; “No I would neve-” He got interupted by you when you said; “then I couldn’t care less. I just want you, no matter wether you are some type of mafia or not” He smiled and said; “I’m not in the mafia Y/N, I’m an agent of S.H.I.E.L.D.”
THE END

Attention
Pt.2
~~~~~~~~~~
Being a Grimes was a hard life to live. Your father as an ex-sheriff, mom a cheating whore and your little brother a menace. The apocalypse didn’t help your hatred towards Lori, her cheating with Shane when you all thought your father, Rick, to be dead in the hospital bed you were dragged away from. You felt sort of relieved when Lori passed giving birth to Judith, of course it was rough to lose your mom, but she no longer felt like your mom at that point.
 Carl always hated you for how you acted towards her, but when your family reached Alexandria, you had the chance to explain and his attitude changed drastically. While Alexandria felt too good to be true to begin with, your group melded seamlessly into the community. A few months or so passed with little incident, meeting Jesus from Hilltop, living in a false sense of peace. In the time of peace you had, you were going crazy without music, the songs running through your head never letting you fall asleep easy.
 So, you fixed up an old iPod with hundreds of songs left on it from before the fall of humanity. Skipping through the house you shared with your blood family, you slid on your socks into the kitchen blasting Choke by I DONT KNOW HOW BUT THEY FOUND ME. You were in your own little world of music when Daryl walked into the room, staring you down with an amused look for a little before he cleared his throat. A gasp left you in panic when you slipped and fell onto the floor, your back meeting it on a personal level once more.
“Fuck Daryl! What the hell?!”
His laugh filled your ears as you grabbed the counter to pull yourself from the floor. You couldn’t help yourself and started laughing at yourself with your boyfriend, his hands clutching his stomach as he keels over. You make your way over and smack his shoulder lightly while wheezing out a small ‘stop it!’. The both of you kept laughing until you slipped again and pulled Daryl down with you by mistake. He landed half on top of you with a grunt as you coughed from his weight being thrown on you suddenly. The laughter stopped after you gave a few more giggles, glancing up to the doorway to see Rick staring you down with that dad look on his face. You panic and push at Daryl’s shoulders trying to get him off of you before your dad came and beat the hell out of his best friend for being on top of his little girl... again.
Daryl stayed pinned on top of you while your dad stared holes into the back of his head. You pushed at his shoulders more urgently, your eyes filled with panic. The crossbow wielding man suffocating you looked up and over his shoulder at the sound of cowboy boots, knowing that only Rick Grimes wore those in Alexandria. He panicked as well, scrambling off you before your dad could reach you, his hands pulling you from the floor to use you as a shield of human meat.
“What were you two just doing? You better not have been fuckin’ my little girl Dixon. If you were I swear to whatever god is-”
“Dad! Stop it! We weren’t doing anything...I sort of slipped and fell and... Daryl fell with me.”
Blue eyes pierced yours before finding that you were telling the truth and nodded, clearing his throat and scratching at his head nervously,
“Maggie's gone into labour. We have to go to Hilltop. Doc says we shouldn’t rush it though. She’s not dilatated yet, but she asked for you by her side, Y/N.”
Both you and Daryl gasp at the news, you scrambling to get your running shoes and a sweater to keep warm. Daryl stared you down as you ran around the downstairs floor of the house for your things. Once you collected them, you kissed Daryl on the cheek as well as your dad before you were out of the house in a blur of black. You no longer cared what your father would say to your boyfriend, just focused on getting to your best friend who was going to give birth soon.
You muttered hellos towards people you passed on your sprint, their eyes wide as they watched you go. When you reached the building you slowed your pace to a walk, entering the building panting and sweating and tired, but that was easily forgettable when you saw the state that Maggie was in. Glenn was at her side as you expected, him not looking the best either as he watched over and talked to his wife. As Maggie looked up at you, relief came over her face before she winced and clutched at her stomach, Glenn grasping her hands in worry. You stumbled to her side, Glenn matching your concern that she waved away even though she looked like the dead wandering outside.
“Maggie... you are not ok. I’m going to find my dad... you’re way worse than you seem. Stay right here!”, you pointed at her spot in the bed as you kissed her forehead and sprinted away, yelling for Eugene to get everyone to the RV.
More people watched you like you were crazy, your hair flying behind you and your steps echoing through the safe zone. Daryl, who had escaped your dad started running with you, questions flying at you as you ran. You answered all of them and he immediately broke away to gather everyone in your group for the trip, also wanting it to be as safe as possible for Maggie and the baby. As soon as you reached your house, you called for your dad and Michonne responded in a tone of confusion and calm. You sprinted upstairs after Michonne’s call back, her stopping you from falling as you tripped on the edge of the carpet.
“Dad! Maggie is getting worse, so much worse, we have to go! Right now!”, you tugged on Michonne’s hands, beckoning your dad to hurry the fuck up because he was just staring at you like he found Daryl on you again.
They both reacted after a minute, shushing noises coming from both of them as Rick walked towards you to gather you in a hug. You sagged into it as Michonne rubbed your back, both shushing you still before Carl walked in and asked why he heard yelling. Then was when you started up again, tugging at you dad this time, ranting about how pale and weak Maggie looked in the bed. Carl reacted similar to you and began panicking, muttering about who would take care of Judith. You insisted that Olivia should but your dad silenced conversation.
“BE QUIET. OK. Y/N, you will stay and take care of Judith, Carl, grab your gun and lets get Maggie to Hilltop before dark. Don’t fight this, Y/N. You know you can’t put Maggie under more stress.”, his eyes met yours and you sighed knowing at every turn for the worse you would breakdown more and more.
“Ok...”, you turned to Carl again and gripped his shoulders, “Don’t do anything dumb there kiddo. Stay safe and take care of Maggie.”
He nodded and hugged you before he left the room, Rick hugging you once more as Michonne nodded at you. You followed Carl's steps out of the room and back to the streets of Alexandria. You noticed Rosita and Abraham walking from a house and sprinted to them, sliding to a stop in front of them.
“Don’t let Carl get hurt. I trust you both. I know you’ll keep an eye out for him. I have to stay and watch Judith... be safe.”, you hugged them both quickly before jogging to find the next group of people heading out.
You came across everyone else already at the RV, Rick holding Judith and waiting for you to approach. You know he knew you would be running around  telling everyone to stay safe and to say a goodbye to Maggie. You grabbed your little sister from his arms, smiling at her coo of content being held by her sister. Your head turned rapidly through the group, searching for your boyfriends gruff expression when you spotted him, Glenn and Abraham helping Maggie out on a cot from the infirmary. You walked over to go through your stay safe speech, Maggie holding your hand until she was in the door of the RV, Rick now helping to lift her into the back onto the bed. Daryl stayed back to give you a peck on lips, you exchanged “I love you’s” and stay safes before he was in the RV and then they were gone. You waved at the RV with Judith until it was out of sight, a sigh leaving you as you walked back to the house to play with your sister before it was time for her dinner.
You estimated it had been at least two hours since your family had left with Maggie. Having no way to know if they were alright terrified you, but you stayed calm because if you had panicked, Judith would’ve been crying as well and you could never calm her when you weren’t. Your little sister had fallen asleep on you as you had read her a beat up children’s book in hopes of making her tired after eating. When she finally did, you placed her gently in her crib and wandered to the kitchen. You stared at the floor in contemplation of whether or not you wanted water or orange juice. During your decision you may have zoned out... but we don’t mention that. Holding your glass of orange juice, you sighed. This was the second longest you had ever gone without knowing how your group was. It made you anxious, so anxious that you left the house quietly to sit by the little pond near the back walls of the community. The calm water always allowed you to calm your thoughts but as you sat watching the small ripples, it made you more anxious. You had to move, do something with your body because you just could not sit still, your bouncing leg testifying the truth behind your thoughts (unlike Amber Heard). So you got up and began a jog. It was all you could think of until the old crap box of an ipod fell from your pocket. You stared at it reflecting the moonlight before you realized that staring at it wouldn’t turn it on and calm your thoughts as you ran.
Turning the ipod on and stuffing the headphones into your ears, you started your journey as a light jog. Your pace slowly progressed as you made your way around the entire community, soon enough you were sprinting through streets and weaving around lamp posts under the light of the full moon and stars. The breeze caressed your shoulders as you ran for a while, only stopping when you nearly fell over the edge of a sidewalk. When you did and wiped your brow of sweat, looking around to see where you ended up. Seeing that you ended up at the gates, you sighed remembering why you had began your run in the first place. Time wasn’t really something you were entirely sure of anymore so when you glanced at the ipod time out of habit, you sighed. You never asked any member of Alexandria if they had a clock that was never changed, so your ipod time just read 1:23am. You estimated it might be right but really you just hoped it wasn’t. That would mean that your family had gone for most of the day and night, with no way of knowing when they would be back...well. Until the gates opened for the RV as you had started a slow walk back to the house. Seeing it covered in bullet holes and the look on your dads face as he drove, you knew deep down that something happened.
Your worst fears were confirmed when the door opened and out stepped everyone except for Glenn, Maggie, Abraham and Daryl. Not seeing them brought tears to your eyes as you rushed to your dad and pulled him into an embrace, looking around for answers. Rick looked like he had died and been revived three times with no proper recovery to look like a human again, Rosita was crying, Carl was dead silent and looking angry if anything. It did not settle well with you as your little brother made eye contact with you and shook his head before he walked away from everyone. No one gave you answers as they all split ways, whatever happened out there shaking them all to the core as your dad sobbed into your shoulder. Michonne was the only one who looked semi-normal, her hand steading you under your dads weight. You stared her down curiously, wanting answers about what had happened and where your boyfriend and best friends were. She just shook her head while staring at the back of Ricks head. You knew that meant it wasn't wise to discuss what happened in front of the broken man. He hadn’t cried this much since... well, since Lori died.
So, you went along with it and helped your dad to the house, silently as possible bringing him to his room where he could shower the blood off him and maybe regain some thought. When Michonne situated him under the stream of water and sat beside you on the couch, you didn’t ask what happened. You knew she would let you know when she was ready to put into words. The two of you sat in silence, only the water running providing background noise.
“Everything was on plan. We were making our way to Hilltop but we encountered blocks in the road. The saviors put them there. Negan. That’s the leaders name.”, Michonne took a big breath, not knowing how to explain the rest as she stared at her hands, “It was unexpected. They cornered us. Eugene took the RV the route we were going while we ran through the woods carrying Maggie on the stretcher. We were cornered that way too.”
You listened avidly, leaning forwards onto your knees and reaching to hold her hand, Michonne squeezing it lightly in thanks for your silent comfort.
“He made us kneel. On the ground, in front of him. Negan, I mean.”, she corrected herself when she saw your confusion, “There was a lot of them though. He said he was pissed about the outpost we attacked a while back. Said we had to pay for killing so many of his men, even when he sent more to kill us and we killed them.”
Michonne paused and tilted her head towards the stairs where the sound of the shower running was coming from, “Negan took your dad in the RV somewhere... he won’t talk about it. Before that... he took revenge.”
You could see the struggle in her mind on how to word the happenings before the RV trip with Negan. Michonne had just opened her mouth to phrase it gently, knowing you lost your boyfriend and two good friends without knowing it yet when Carl chimed in from the stairs as he walked down them to the kitchen.
“He bashed in Abrahams head with his baseball bat. Daryl got angry at his taunting, punched Negan, Negan got more angry and based in Glenn’s as well.”
He vanished up the stairs after that, leaving you and Michonne to stare after him in disbelief. On your end it was because you had learned so coldly that two of your friends had had their heads bashed in brutally by a baseball bat, which Michonne soon explained is also covered in barbed wire and called Lucille. You had scoffed at that, as any person would, but the look your dad’s girlfriend sent you had you rethinking your choices. She continued to explain that because of Daryl’s burst of energy and anger despite being injured caused Negan to take an interest him. Which led to the Saviors pulling him from the ground and into a truck to be taken to the sanctuary.
You had frozen, your mind blank with the thought that you wouldn’t be seeing your boyfriend in a long while despite seeing him earlier and everything was ok. Tears leaked down your face as you shrank into the couch, your entire body shaking as grief washed over you. Michonne rubbed your leg soothingly for a little while until the shower turned off, she then excused herself to go and stay with your dad, knowing you had your ways of dealing with sadness. She was right, you did. Sobbing still and shaking violently, you made your way outside again, walking with your head down until you made it to the gates. It would never be the same and you knew that when Rosita came up to you with tears streaming down her face as well and hugged you tightly.
As you both stood sobbing into each others shoulders, you knew that you both had just gotten closer, but also that safety was never something you would get again. With the moon casting shadows over your hugging figures as cries of despair filled the night, something had set in steel deep down inside you. You, along with the rest of the community, would never be the same. Not even with Jesus smiling at you from Hilltop.
-------------------------------
Ellie didn’t know that Joel had a wife.
Granted, she didn’t know much about his old life at all.
She knew he built things. That he had a brother named Tommy and a daughter named Sarah, but didn’t like to talk about the latter that much. In one fleeting conversation, full of mumbles as her eyes began to close while they rested under the night sky she heard him mention you but was far too gone to truly hear what he said. Nothing more than the vague rumble of his voice saying “my wife” before her eyes opened once more.
“You’re married?”
She asks with such incredulous shock it sounds more like “somebody married you?” but girls at her age hardly ever have filters.
“I was.”
There’s the same bristle in his throat and far off look in his eyes as when she first asked about his daughter. An open answer but one that carries enough unsaid to tell Ellie of your fate. To warn her that she should change the subject or simply shut her mouth and go to sleep before plucking his raw nerve one too many times until he snaps-
“What was she like?”
But Joel learned early on that Ellie wasn’t one to follow warnings.
“Kind.” His breath stutters. “But not a pushover- she didn’t take shit from anybody.” He stares up at the sky, feeling his chest grow tight and fingers twitch by his side until there’s a rustling, the girl next to him rolling over to face him and he turns to find Ellie peeking out from her sleeping bag with a smile.
Damn this girl.
“Not even from you?”
Joel scoffs. “Especially from me. The amount of times she gave me and Tommy and earful-” he shakes his head, Ellie watches a smile grow on his face in silence, as if worried she may frighten it away.
“Did she cook?”
Ellie thinks of the stories the older kids would tell her. The ones who remembered life before the Outbreak, who told her of freshly baked pies on weekend and fluffy pancakes in the morning.
Joel remembers the first time you tried to bake him a cake for his birthday back when he was sixteen. How he opened the door to your forlorn face and a store bought sheet cake in your hands because as your mother told him over the phone, you damn near burned the whole house down trying to bake for him as a surprise.
“From time to time.”
There was only so much she could get out of him before his voice became clipped and eyes full of an emotion she didn’t quite know the name of that he told her to get some rest. Leaving her with nothing to do but to stare at the sky and wonder about these stories in the shape of a woman who unveiled a little bit more about the mysterious man she traveled with.
Of all the silence and secrets that made up the man that protected her, she created stories to fill them. Stories of Joel Miller, husband, father, brother and badass contractor that everybody loved.   Of his soldier brother, of his wife and their smiling daughter between them both.
In Ellie’s mind, you didn’t work.
But not in a ditzy lame way like some boring housewife. But just because you didn’t have to.
Joel said that everybody loved contractors so that means he probably got paid like, a ton of money to build stuff for people so you got to stay at home all day. Ellie imagined your house to be ginormous. Maybe Joel made it himself for you when you guys first got married. It was big enough that when Joel came home everyday he’d call out your name and it’d echo through  the hall as you called him into the kitchen, where your daughter sat reading as you set dinner on the table. Sometimes you’d get upset if he came home late but then he’d kiss your cheek and you would roll your eyes but smile before you all sat down and ate as a family.
Ellie imagines Joel’s daughter, she wonders if Sarah looks more like her mother than her father.
Ellie wonders as the sleep takes over her body, if they could have been friends.
When it happens, months later after she’s come to think of Joel as something akin to family and he thinks of her as something he can’t say out loud just yet, she’s shocked. She’s face to face with a woman holding her at gunpoint that looks nothing like the smiling mother she dreamt of during cold nights.
You don’t match the stories Ellie made up in your head.
You’re mean.
No. Mean isn’t the right word.
Cold. Yes. you're very cold.
Ellie watches in shock as you ask where they're headed, gun focused on the center of her chest while the two boys at your side point their own at Joel, who has yet to speak.
She waits for him to answer, but he just stares at you in awe. The same man she’s seen kill and threaten to keep her safe day in and day out is rendered speechless until all he can do is utter your name and she realizes that he knows you. More than that, judging by the way he surrenders his gun to you with no fight, something she had never seen him do.
You lift your head to look at him, the brim of your hat raises just enough to clear the shadow cast over your face and Ellie can finally see your eyes and the snarl on your face.
You’re also very pretty.
“I won’t ask again.”
The two boys standing on either side of you have your eyes. Same color and intensity, narrowed into slits like guard dogs waiting for an order and Ellie sees the way Joel stares at them.
She wonders if Sarah had brothers.
“Out west.” He manages. “Takin’ her to her family.”
Your eyes move to her and she holds her hands higher in the air.
“That true?” “What?”
“Is he telling the truth?”
The taller one, Duke, she had heard you call him, had already ripped the bag from her back and emptied its contents onto the ground, she had nothing else to hide from you.
But then she sees something in your eyes. A concern for her that she hadn’t seen since Tess or Marlene.
And she understands.
“He’s telling the truth.” Ellie forces out.
You watch her for a moment and there’s a moment of panic where she thinks you can see right through her lie.
But then you lower your gun and jerk your head over your shoulder.
“C’mon.” is all you say before you begin to walk away. The boys gawk at you for a moment before you give them a look of warning and they follow in your step, occasionally casting glances behind them at Joel and Ellie who follow suit.
She’s quick to grab onto the sleeve of Joel’s jacket and pull with a harsh whisper as the other’s march forward.
“You know this psycho?”
Joel flinches at her voice as it pitches up. If any of you heard her, which he gathered you did because Ellie didn’t have an inside voice to save her fucking life, you didn’t care enough to react.
Ellie whispers his name again. Insistent and angry for answers but he just keeps looking forward. He can’t take his eyes off of you or the boys ahead and it fills her with worry but she doesn’t know why.
“She’s my wife.”
You lead them to a cottage. Its paint is chipping and the fence is reinforced with wiring around the perimeter but it looks like a home. She can vaguely hear the soft clucking of chickens nearby and there's a flash of fur behind the fence with a pair of pointed ears that duck away just as fast as she saw them.
Ellie has seen the remnants of homes before the outbreak. The plates still stacked in the sink and the jacket still hung up on the hook. A story telling a family that once lived within its walls and is now nothing more than memories that ghosts along its foundation.
But this one is real. It’s yours.
 There is a rickety wooden table in the dining room. Each chair around it seems to have been brought from a different house and is varying shades of faded brown. You kick the leg of one and nod toward it.“Sit, both of you.”
Ellie looks to Joel before sitting. He follows suit, choosing the chair closest to her.
“I’m gonna get some bandages for that leg-”
Joel shifts forward. “I don’t need-”
“I wasn’t fucking asking, Joel.”
You’re not stronger than Joel, if she had to guess. You both look the same age, but she’s seen his strength, his violence, all done for her safety and knows if it came down to it, you might not win in a fight against him.
But at your order, he sits back in his chair.
You turn and set a shoulder on your son’s shoulder.
At least. She thinks he’s your son.
Softly spoken words are exchanged while the other keeps his eyes on Joel and his hand on his holster. The boy says something back in insistence, but you tilt your head and he nods.
“If either of them try moving or taking anything.” You offer them one final look over your shoulder before slipping out of the room. “Shoot them.”
They listen to your footsteps slowly retreat until there’s nothing but the subtle creak and groan of the wood floor beneath them. Ellie leans forward to look at Joel, setting her hands firmly on the dinner table in announcement.
“Dude-” The young girl breathes out. “Your wife is a bitch.”
𝑫𝒐𝒈𝑫𝒂𝒚 x Reader Pt.3
Tumblr media
Although it was out of character for him to do such a thing, you wrote it off...he's still a good person...right? There was nothing wrong with it, you just forgot about it. You needed it in order to survive, right?
It was late and you've been doing well. DogDay made sure to feed you a large amount of the strange meat. Its taste grew on you, despite it coming from a possibly dead fucking body.
You lay in the den, your back up against DogDay's leg. He plays with your hair and makes sure to keep you safe from the entities outside of this ‘safe zone’
"Little Angel...I have a question. Do you have family that's looking for you right now?" he asks while brushing his hand through your hair. It felt nice. He continued to stroke your hair, letting you rest in his grip.
You looked up at him and said “No, I just came out of thin air, and pop I’m here! Matter of fact I am not even excited” You snickered
DogDay gave you a quick smirk. "Smart-aleck, hm? You know well that's a lie. You never talk about your past. Your past that involves family...friends...I don't know, it's like you just want to pretend it never happened."
“Oh, I don’t want to hear you talk after the whole ass MEAT incident. I don't hear you going around and saying, ‘Well I just gave a human another human!”
Your words stung DogDay. The dog growled "Don't you even dare say that. I'm only doing this for your safety. Do you know what would've happened if I let you starve out there? You'd have died like the rest. You would've been torn to literal SHREDS by the Mini Smiling Critters...you'd have died horribly. I'm trying to keep YOU alive, doll, and that's the truth."
…you open your mouth to say something before dropping it and shrug “damn- well I can’t say anything to that. Fuck.”
DogDay nodded and kept petting your hair. “I know what i do looks horrible, but I'm the only one that wants to keep you safe. Everyone else just wants you dead. I’m doing all of this because I care. I’ve never really cared or liked anything else in my life, but with you…it's different. I…I care about you. So much, and I can't let you go.”
Your jaw drops “YOU CANT SAY THAT TO A FUCKING CHILD! You know how wrong that is. Never tell I child that, Jesus Christ!”
"I don't care." DogDay spoke softly again, his tone was full of remorse. "I don't care what anyone else thinks. Because at the end of the day, I'm the only person that you're stuck with. I don't care if it's wrong. Don't you see that I care for you more than anyone else? I'm all you've got...that's a fact."
“Damn you can’t gaslight anyone these days” you muttered “I had a whole thing going” You sighed and crossed your arms
He laughs and keeps stroking your hair. "I know, aren't I cruel? So awful, right?" he chuckled, seemingly enjoying that you were getting annoyed. He sighed. "But...you have to realize, you are stuck here. I've kept you from danger and kept you from dying. And I mean...you do like my cooking...right?"
“I mean I tasted better in the school cafeteria” you whisper
DogDay's head snapped towards you suddenly like a predator. "You...what did you say?"
Before you could even open your mouth there was an ungodly sound, like bones rubbing together…CatNap.
DogDay froze, his ears and tail dropping. You could see him shaking like a leaf. CatNap was here. "...stay as quiet as you can..." he whispered
You nodded and followed along with DogDay
You hid in the closet...hiding behind the coats in it. In just a few seconds, the door flew off its hinges. CatNap appeared in the opening of the doorway. His body was covered in blood...some fresh, others dried, and some...rotting. "There you are, DogDay...I see you're hiding." CatNap's voice was warped and twisted into an evil mockery of a normal person's voice...like a psychopath.
CatNap raised his hands and laughed evilly. "I heard you two talking...don't you dare think I wouldn't stop by. You're such a predictable creature DogDay...and you...little child"
You scoffed “Hey I'm pretty tall for my age you Pussy!”
"Pussy? Oh...oh how sweet. That's cute. Do you really believe that I'll take offense to that? You have a lot of balls, little child."
You gasp and cover your mouth “Ooo he cussed”
DogDay yells “NOW IS NOT THE TIME ANGEL”
CatNap sniggered and looked down at DogDay. "Oh, you're actually protecting her? Now that's a first for you. I wonder how she'd taste...just a taste would probably do..."
DogDay snarled “Don't you go near her you baste-”
CatNap's arm shot out, wrapping around DogDay's throat. He tightened his grip. "You're protecting a human...after I told you to take her out into that warzone and let her fend for herself...you've always been weak. Always following orders blindly, like a puppet, never thinking for yourself."
“DOGDAY!!!” You screamed
CatNap laugh as DogDay gasped for air. "Ah, yes...you're quite loud..too bad your screams won't reach anyone. But oh. I forgot"
You grabbed a broken pipe nearby, swatting his head forcefully as you could with it, cutting your hands in the proces, DogDay gets dropped to the ground as catnap roars, scrambling away “NOW THAT'S A PUSSY!” You yelled
as CatNap ran off you ran over to DogDay who was coughing like he just smoked ten pounds of weed
“DogDay…are you okay? Are you hurt”
DogDay took several deep breaths as he looked up at you. "I should be asking that to you, doll. Are you okay?" then he gave you a small smirk. "You know...I didn't know how you were capable of swinging that thing with such ease...you remind me of someone. You're a fierce little warrior, aren't you?"
Unique x BLACK!FEM!reader
WARNINGS: unprotected seggs(wrap before you tap!), dirty talk, after care, soft(ish)!Unique, pussy whipped!Unique, kinda short, das it(I think)
SUMMARY: Unique figures if he can’t get over her, he’ll get under her instead.
✮Prompt✮
✮✮✮✮
Girl, I want everything that come with you. Even if you got stretch marks and even two children. I can’t blame you, girl.
It seemed like he always ended back up here. Right here. In this bed. With this woman. Wrapped up in her sheets with his hands touching all the parts only the luckiest of men got the pleasure of even seeing. He swore they were meant to be, and she almost thought so too. He treated her so well, like the beauty she was, and she couldn’t be more grateful.
They had known each other since the sandbox, his mother always offering to watch her while her mother was at work and since that first time they met, they were connected at the hip.
No matter if they fell out and swore to stop fuckin’ with each other, they always ended right back together. No matter how many times she attempted to leave, he’d just find her again.
He hoped by the last time she left he’d be too tired of her bullshit to follow after her, but he was more resilient than he thought, and withdrawals are a muthafucka. Now he knows how the people he serves feel.
That first taste he had of her? It was like a babies first lick of sugar, addiction waiting to happen. The first time he came was like floating in outer space with no destination or desire to be anywhere else. And as ironic as it was, she looked innocent on her knees for him.
Her mouth worked its way down on him until the tip of her nose touched his stomach and her eyes began to water, her throat capturing his entire length. With no problem, she bobbed her head up and down on him, her mouth so sloppy that spit escaped from her lips and trailed down to his balls, making him shudder.
She took her hand and began spreading the spit around his heavy sack, massaging as she felt him throb in her mouth, the taste of precum already being prevalent on her tongue. He occupies his hands and digs his fingers into the couch cushions, knowing that she would stop and he’d be fucked if he reached for her freshly done silk press that was wrapped in a silk scarf, secure for those rough times.
Flashes of white appeared behind his eyes like stars as that familiar pull in the bottom of his stomach appeared once again, a warm sense of feeling covering his body as he came down her throat for the first time in months since he found out where she had been hiding. Which just ended up being her childhood home in the city over.
It took unique all but a mere few seconds to recover before he was pulling her up from her knees and into his strong hold, giving her that kiss of death before he got to doing his own damage. As he stood from the couch with no care about the jeans and belt still around his thighs, their tongues danced together in sync. Unique could taste every bit of both of them on her tongue, but he was never one to fuss about kissing after head if it was with her. He welcomed it if anything.
Tossing her body onto the bed, he takes a second to admire how the room hadn’t changed one bit since she became an adult. A doll house sat in the corner with dolls still inside, a memory of the last time she had played with them. Teddy bears that had eventually fallen off the bed when she was sat. Pink walls with brown, white, and gold for the future. A color pallet reminding him of something else in particular.
✮✮✮✮
“Nique~” She moaned sweetly, her hands gripping the sheets underneath her as the man above her pushed his hips onto her ass, his piece sinking into her ever so slowly. The stretch was always the same, the thickness of him leaving a burning sensation at her entrance the more he pushed into her, but it only stayed for a few seconds as she adjusted to his size, which was nothing average.
The thrusts were sensual and loving until he leans up off of her and pulls out just a bit further than usual, giving her the room to pull her ass up in the air and put a perfect arch in her back. She began bouncing herself back onto him, gaining speed and momentum as he meets her ass with his hips.
“Oh fuck..” He groans quietly.
His eyes were trained on the motions of her soft skin jiggling with every collide of their bodies. His thrusts only got harder from there, segments of moans falling from the girls lips. He didn’t even have to tell her how wet she was, the squelching sounds erupting from where they connected told her all she needed to know.
Switching the angle of his thrusts, he places one knee onto the bed and leans into her, his hands placed in the middle of her back just to make sure she wouldn’t be able to run from the lethal position. And running, she did not do, couldn’t do because of how he was holding her. Suddenly the bed dipped under them both with the strong force of his thrust making her collapse on her stomach, leaving the girl breathless after calling out to the highest one she worshipped.
“You feel that, baby? I’m in it?” He asks with his breathing unsteady, his balls tightening and her toes curling.
“Yes, Nique!”
She was in shambles trying to keep up with him. She could feel the tip of his dick pressing against her g spot, constantly slamming into it like a button, like he’d get some kind of prize if he pushed it correctly. He fucked her so hard, sweet compliments being the only things that contradicted the rough strokes. She could hear the belt buckle of his pants jingling around his ankles, remembering that they had barely been undressed fully before Unique got impatient and just shoved his pants down and her nightgown up before pushing her to her knees.
As Unique continued on with damn near breaking this girls childhood bed, he thought to himself. This was the pussy that niggas killed for. The type pussy that’d have you bussing back to back without a second thought about a condom. This was the pussy he thought about on those lonely nights when she was mad at him, when he had to take matters into his own hands and desperately jerk himself off, his mouth agape and muscles flexing as he cums all over his stomach to the beautiful thought that was her.
“Fuck, fuck, fuck!” She whimpers. At this point she could feel him poking at her stomach and being pressed against the mattress helped nothing. He would probably fuck her through the cushion if he could.
“Uh-huh. Cum on this dick, Princess. Lemme feel you wet this dick up, show me how good I make this pussy feel” He spoke, punching nothing but a thick 9 inch pole into her spine. The man gave her no choice but to scream and give him exactly what he wanted, which was her release.
✮✮✮✮
Between her thighs were messy and wet, coated with a layer of white cream that was from both of them. Unique gently wiped her down with a wet towel, careful not to swipe over her sensitive clit too fast or harsh.
“Shhh—“ She hissed, her thighs almost closing in on his hand. Unique’s eyes flickered from her core up to her expression. “My bad” He simply apologized before tossing away the dirty rag in a hamper next to the bed. Laying next to her on his back, he sighs. “you gon’ learn to stop running from what you love”
She smiles, turning her head to look at the side of his face, getting a view of that nearly perfect profile. “Who says I love you, Unique?”
He smirks. “I don’t need a second opinion on a fact”
And the cycle continues…
Can you write one where the reader is supposed to executed after Shibuya cause she’s in a relationship with Gojo. I kinda want it to be angsty, but you do what you want with this!
I know you said angsty, but all I can hear is bad bitch (the elders are REALLY angsty though lol)
Gojo's wife supposedly getting executed but kicking ass instead
Tumblr media
Pairing: husband!Gojo x reader
Word Count: 1,5k
Synopsis: When Sibuya is finally over, you find yourself facing none other than the elders who want to execute you. Little do they know you are no one to be messed with, that even without your husband by your side, you are a true threat if you want to...
Warnings: lots of violence, (y/n) takes no shit in this one, language, not proofread yet
This is kinda like a continuation of this fic here
The sound of your heels clicking against the marble floor are the only thing that hangs in the air along with that deadly silence – literally.
You aren’t dumb. Of course you know why you’re here. Satoru is sealed, the only jujutsu sorcerer they were always afraid of. And since your husband is gone and nobody knows when or if he’ll return, these old farts seize their opportunity to finally get rid of you, to get rid of Yuji, to get rid of Yaga.
Well, maybe you weren’t exactly kind to them these last years. Yes, you were a pain in the ass yourself, threatening to kill every single one of them more than once. And with your husband, the strongest jujutsu sorcerer of this time, chuckling in the background, they simply had no choice but to hear you out.
Not anymore, though. Not when your husband is sealed in a tiny box with no way out.
You play with a strand of your hair while making your way to the huge door that separates you from them, containing your temper and breathing. Honestly, you couldn’t care less about the fact that they want to execute you. But Yaga, Yuji…There’s no way in hell you’ll let that happen, no way you’ll let them kill you this easily.
“You have some fucking nerve, calling me here after our last meeting. Didn’t I told you urgent enough what happens when you threaten my students?”
Confidently, you position yourself in the middle of the circled room, glaring right through their dark figures with your death stare.
“As if it’s not enough that I lost my husband in Shibuya while, if you even care about that minor detail, we all tried to save everyone in Japan from certain death. You know what would have happened if we didn’t fight until the very end, right? You know that we did all of this for the innocent people out there, right?”
Tame down your beating heart, your rushing blood. If you get angry, you might lose it all. And while Satoru supports you no matter what you do, you don’t want Yuji to look at you with those innocent disappointed eyes. No, you aren’t here to kill every single one of them.
But if one wrong word leaves their mouths, one word of disrespect against your beloved husband…
“You will be executed, (y/n) Gojo.”
You can’t contain a disrespectful huff. You, executed by those old farts? That you don’t laugh, that you don’t slaughter all of them on the spot.
“While you sat here on your old asses, my husband, I and countless others were out there fighting bravely for stranger’s life’s. Who are you to judge over mine? Who do you think you are to even consider you’d be able to take my life from me?”
Your threatful eyes seem to glow in the dark, hands clenched into fists so tightly that your own blood spills onto the marble ground.
“But all you care about is supremacy, isn’t it? Masamichi’s formula for creating independent cursed corpses, my infinite powers…You give zero fucks about the jujutsu sorcerers out there. All you care about is your puny selves”, you hiss through gritted teeth.
“Shut your mouth. You are no threat to us.”
Did you hear that correctly? That man sitting to your right didn’t just raise his voice at you, didn’t just say that you can’t hold a candle against them. Them, a room full of old farts. Them, who are too afraid to even fight. Them, who hide in this stinky room in order to protect themselves.
“Am I not?”, you mutter.
Within the blink of an eye, you throw one of your poisoned needles towards him, hitting his shoulder just how you wanted. Immediately the tension in the room is thick enough to get sliced, all elders springing up immediately.
“Come on, attack me, kill me if you dare. I couldn’t care less. Never forget that you are talking to me, (y/n) Gojo. There is a reason why Satoru married me and it certainly wasn’t to protect me.”
Oh, how much you miss him. What you would do to have Satoru back on your side.
“You are nothing without Satoru Gojo!”
“Look who’s there, the woman who just threatened the higher ups of Jujutsu High all on her own. Did you really choke that man?”
Your husband grinned at you widely, his blindfold already taken off. You simply shrugged your shoulders and smiled at him.
“Apparently I was able to convince them somehow. Come on, we should get going. I hope all of them are alright…”
God, how much you long for his tender touch, how much you’d do for him standing right by your side right now. Not to handle the situation for you, but to know you’re not alone.
Are you alone, though? Your husband might be sealed, but he isn’t dead, let alone gone. He’s still somewhere out there and thinks about you, still supports you from where ever he is. No, with Satoru as your beloved husband, you’ll never truly be alone.
“I am enough to make sure none of you will ever see the daylight again if you insist on this path. If you hurt Yuji Itadori-“
You aren’t able to finish your sentence. All of the sudden chains fly your way, trap you right in the middle of the room in the matter of seconds. For a brief moment your senses fail you, darkness summons you like a veil. Is this your end? Are they really able to bring you down this easily? You simply can’t die like that, not through their dirty hands, not when you weren’t able to say goodbye to your husband.
Your trembling breath hangs in the air, cursed metal digs into your tender flesh. Satoru…His face appears before your inner eye.
“Hey, you aren’t giving up now, aren’t ya? You’re just getting started, babe!”
You are better than them, stronger than them, braver than them. You huff to yourself, thick fear and power starts pumping through your veins. Fall seven times, stand up eight.
“Let’s get the party started.”
Their puny chains tear like threat under the sheer force of your bare arms, setting you free like a bird.
“See this as your final warning.”
Your fists discolour the room in deadly crimson, lighten up their scared faces.
“If you ever touch me or my students again.”
Fire runs through the room like a storm, lights them up, lets their flesh melt away like butter.
“I will kill every single one of you without blinking. Every. Single. One.”
Their desperate screams fill you with satisfaction while you keep going, shooting your poisoned needles their way, letting each one of them collapse underneath the weight of their sins.
“I kindly advise you to never mess with any member of the Gojo clan. Even though I’m not my husband, I’m definitely strong enough to end every life in this room if you keep threatening my students, friends and myself. If you ever dare to call me again…”
You snap, sending another wave of cursed fire their way.
“Well, maybe not do that. Now excuse me, I have to look after my students and figure out how to free my husband. See you never again.”
With one last satisfied grin, you turn on your heels and walk out, closing the door behind you for what you hope forever.
Was this the right thing to do? Did you cross a line you shouldn’t have crossed? Maybe you put Yuji in even more danger, maybe Masamichi still gets executed.
No.
Stop your train of thoughts.
This is not the right time to doubt yourself. They want to execute you, want to wipe you from this earth without a trace?
“That I don’t laugh…”, you mutter to yourself.
“There you are, Gojo-sensei! I was looking for you!”
A gentle smile creeps up your face and makes you forget about what just happened immediately.
“Hey, how are you feeling today, Yuji? Did Shoko treat your wounds?”, you question, gently wrapping your arm around the pink-haired boy who went to hell and back.
“I was thinking about a way to free Gojo-sensei and I’d love to try it with you! Oh, your uniform is a little burned. Are you alright?”
His eyes dart all over your body worried while you can’t fight a wide grin any longer.
“That? Oh, nothing for you to worry about. Come on, show me what you’ve find out.”
Bonus:
“Can you imagine? They called me to literally execute me. Wanna know what I did?”
“You bet I do…”, Satoru mumbles to himself on top of a pile of bones.
“I kinda burned them to the ground. But don’t worry, I am almost certain they survived. Hopefully they’ll leave Yuji, Masamichi an me alone now. But I think that could have consequences, so maybe move your ass out of that cube a little faster”, you bubble.
Satoru lets out a heartfelt laugh. So you really threatened the elders again? No wonder he married you, that force of a woman.
“I’ll come back to you babe. And then we’ll  both kick their asses together.”
Imagine Luis using the communicator to call you. Constantly.
Tumblr media
“Luis? What’s your status?”
“No bueno, my friend. I’m in a lot of pain.”
Your head immediately snaps up at attention to these words. Leon, who answered the call as the device was on his person, shares your look of alarm and nods in understanding to prepare to come to the Spaniard’s aid.
“Where are you?” Leon inquires, maneuvering the communicator between you two so that you can listen in as well. “How serious are your injuries?”
The man on the other line groans, “I’d say pretty serious. Severe, even.”
Filled with worry, you were about to join the line of questioning until his voice cuts you off before you could utter a sound.
“After all… how does one recover from a lonely heart?”
Leon squints, “…What?”
“I am separated from my light- mi luz! Forced to wander these terrifying, dark corridors alone without any source of warmth and comfort!” In the tiny screen, you can see the man waving his arms around with an exaggerated pout on his face. He looked like he was rehearsing a scene of a play or something. Luis notices your face on his end and smiles widely before releasing an over-the-top gasp and calling you by name. “¿Dónde estás, mi luz? I am suffering without you.”
You pinch the bridge of your nose, doing your best to choke down the laugh that was threatening to erupt from your chest. Before reuniting with Leon S. Kennedy, your partner in the mission to retrieve Ashley Graham, you were running around the village with Luis Serra, a man you happened to come across while fighting hordes of infected villagers. Initially, you were suspicious of him, but he proved himself to be a man of good character, chivalrously watching your back and using his intimate knowledge of the area and the terrors that creep within to navigate you both through multiple dangerous encounters.
You and he became close quickly, forging a strong bond during your time together, made easy with the man’s charisma and light-hearted nature. Even in the constant face of danger, Luis would twist the dark ambiance to his playful tune, often making you the muse of his antics if not for the sole purpose to tease a smile upon your face. So what he was doing now was not at all surprising, but the confused and incredulous look upon Leon’s face was priceless.
Just as you were going to point out that it hasn’t at all been that long since you two have separated ways so that you can help Leon relocate Ashley, the blond agent beside you drops the call with a push of a button. He then throws an inquisitive glare your way.
“What?” you ask.
“Do I dare even ask what the hell that was?” Leon shoots back.
You ponder his question for a moment before answering, “Honestly, it’d save you the headache if you didn’t.”
With that, Leon drops the conversation with a sigh before taking the lead to move on. Little did you both know, it wouldn’t be the last time Luis would call.
The second time he calls, he asks how you and Leon were progressing. And just like the first time, Leon answers, reporting that you were busy cracking at a difficult door puzzle while he kept watch.
“Whoever designed this castle was a real asshole,” the agent comments.
“Agreed,” you sigh. “And whoever took the time to reset these puzzles is an even bigger asshole.”
Luis’ voice chimes in through the static. “Perhaps I can be of some assistance? I am a brilliant man, afterall. Let me have a look, por favor.”
Thinking nothing of it, Leon walks over and faces the screen of the comm to you and the door so that Luis can see what you are working on from behind before you reset the puzzle. You then explain how you got stuck and your theories on what the possible solutions could be. While doing so, Luis hums after each pause, his face showing that of absolute concentration. After you finished and a moment of considerable silence passes, you engage him.
“Well?” you ask. “Any thoughts?”
Luis lifts his hand from his stubbled chin, “Just one.” He points at you, his voice lowers to a husky growl.
“You look particularly ravishing from this angle.”
You were grateful that Leon hung up before Luis can see the blush burning hot on your cheeks. After some time, you managed to solve the puzzle and proceed with the mission although Leon was none too happy with the Spanish man for wasting both of your times.
The third time the communication device goes off, you offer to take it from Leon.
“It’s probably him again. Why don’t I handle this one?”
“No,” he denies, shaking his head. “I still don’t trust him and you don’t need the distraction.”
Instead of being offended at your partner practically casting your professionalism into doubt, you reason with him. “C’mon, Leon. It could be serious this time.”
“Highly doubt it.”
However, more time passes and the device is still beeping. The sound echoes off the walls in taunting pings to the gnawing point where it was practically imprinted into your brains. When Leon couldn’t handle it anymore, he sighs in defeat and pushes the button. Again, he doesn’t hand it to you and greets the dark-haired man himself with an irritated frown.
“This better be good.”
“Depends on your definition of “good”, mi compadre.” Luis too wore a grimace, his voice void of his usual humor. “I’ve relocated one of my hidden caches and uncovered the suppressants you will both need to slow the growth of the plaga within your bodies.”
“Well, damn. That sounds like great news to me.” A wave of relief washes over Leon’s face, probably because Luis finally shared something worthwhile. “So what’s the catch, then?”
“Catch is- there are two different kinds of doses. One dose is a simple needle injection. That will be for you, Leon. Pero, the other…” he trails off, eyes casted with a faraway look while the adam’s apple in his throat bobs. Whatever was on his mind seems difficult to swallow let alone speak aloud.
Curiosity evident in Leon’s expression, he prods him further. “What is it, Luis? Is the other dose dangerous to administer?”
“It can be. The application process has a high probability of being rather intensive. For both the receiver and the administrator.”
You join in, “What do you mean?”
It was only until the words left your mouth did you realize what you just waltzed into.
Upon hearing your words, Luis’ expression changes like day and night, the somber frown flipping into a mischievous smirk. “It is nothing you can’t handle, mi amor. I’m certain. Only that it requires you and I to exchange bodily fluids in-“
Never before have you seen Leon hang up so fast, his hand covering his beet red face. You couldn’t tell if it was out of embarrassment, disgust, or fury for falling for the Spaniard’s antics once again and concluded that it was all at once.
“Let’s… ugh… Let’s just keep going.”
You didn’t put up a fight at the order, fighting off your own set of emotions that stirred from Luis’ shameless teasing. However, not even five steps were taken and the walkie talkie beeps. Leon was livid.
“For fuck’s sake, what now?!”
“Catch you at a bad time, Leon?” A deadpan feminine voice comes through the comms and you swear Leon turned several shades paler.
Leon’s “informant” tipped you off on Ashley’s last sighting and you two wasted no time moving to catch up to her. After fighting another wave of plaga, tensions were running high. So when you two were rushing to navigate around the courtyard, the communicator goes off once more and that became the last straw for Leon. Already fuming, he waited to see the Spaniard’s face on the device before verbally popping off.
“Luis, I swear to god. If the reason you’re calling is to talk about how miserable and lonely you are or make some dumb comment on a certain someone’s assets, I am going to literally throw this walkie talkie off the ramparts,” Leon snarled, his frustration unrestrained. “So I dare you, Luis, I fucking dare you to speak. And it better be god damn important!”
For a moment there was only white noise, then a familiar thick accent finally comes through.
“… I was going to say that I can see you two across the courtyard,” the man reports candidly, “and there’s a swarm of monsters coming in at your three o’clock.”
Sure enough, a horde of giant mutated insects were zooming towards you and Leon. Amidst the countless gunshots and death cries of your enemies, you can hear your fellow agent beside you cursing colorfully to the high heavens as well as the sound of hysterical laughter further in the distance.
When it was all over, the communicator was beeping again. Leon didn’t even bother answering. Instead, he tosses the device over to you without so much as a word or making eye contact. The brief exchange almost made you laugh as you press the button and are greeted by a familiar handsome face whose grey eyes lit up instantly at the sight of you.
“I think you broke the poor man,” you say with an amused, pointed look.
The expression you see in the tiny screen was that of feigned innocent confusion. “¿Perdon? Whatever do you mean? I thought I did my due diligence in warning you two of imminent danger.”
Your ears pick up an irritated groan followed by harsh stomps moving away from your position. You can practically imagine smoke coming out of the blond’s ears as he created distance, muttering an excuse that he is going to check the perimeter. If not for your respect for the man, you would have rolled over laughing.
Shaking your head, you return your attention back to cause of your partner’s grief. “Alright. Now that’s it just the two of us. What did you really want to say to me, Luis?”
“Nada,” the Spanish man shrugs, throwing you his signature charming grin. “Just wanted to hear your voice.”
Miguel is secretly dating Johnny daughter. Johnny doesn't know because he would freak out but he eventually caught them in the act
Johnny would lose his shit 😂😂 especially if he walked in on them doing something - ahem - unsavory.
At first, he can't comprehend what he's witnessed. Like, this is his daughter and his star student. Two worlds that should not collide in his mind. So to see what he sees - Miguel Diaz, All Valley Champion, plowing into his daughter while she tugs on his pretty, long hair - is enough for him to blow a fuse.
He's irate once it settles in and he starts yelling. I mean, his best parenting tactic is yelling at them like they're children who got caught with their hands in the cookie jar (even though that's not a food tactic at all) and these are literal 19 year olds minding their own business. Granted, they hid it from him, but with good reason as Reader will have to say.
"Get the fuck out of my room! Oh my god! What is wrong with you!?" she yells back, covering herself with a blanket. She reaches for the nearest thing, a table lamp, and throws it at him.
He dodges and closes the door, the lamp breaking against it, and he pokes his head back in. "What's wrong with me? What's wrong with him? Fucking my daughter? Are uou serious, Miguel? What the fuck?"
"Sensei, I can explain-"
"Don't explain shit to him, Migs," Reader cuts him off. She glares at her dad. "This is exactly why we didn't tell you anything because you're so irrational and old school and idiotic! I knew you'd act like this!"
"What are you talking about? This is an appropriate react to finding my student screwing my daughter!"
"You're freaking the fuck out like a lunatic!"
Miguel feels like he should go but being buck ass naked and with Johnny in the doorway, he feels trapped. He's covering himself with only a small piece of the blanket, feeling like if he were to sit too close to Reader, Johnny might actually kill him.
"Because you're my daughter!"
"And if I were your son, you'd be throwing me a party and letting me drink beer!" Reader counters. She huffs, reaching for something else to throw at him, believing that would be the only way to get him to leave. However, Miguel reaches over and stops her. "You're so ridiculous and dense."
"What?" Johnny asks. "What the Hell is that supposed to mean?"
"Open your eyes, Dad! Miguel and I have known each other for so long! We were in you dumb dojos together! We did everything together! Did you really think we wouldn't actually get together?"
Johnny stands there, dumbfounded as he thinks back on it all. "How long?"
"Almost two years, beer for brains."
Johnny might have to go sit down after that reveal.
Out of my league (phil coulson x fem!reader)
Requested; no
Relationship; Phil Coulson x fem!reader (she is Confident with a capital C)
Type of fanfic; fluff/romance
Warnings; I believe there are none but tell me if I missed anything
Wordcount; 969
Timesetting; somewhere around the beginning of season 1, but I kinda didn’t pay any mind to what’s canon and what is not.
Summary;  You have been flirting with Coulson for a long time, but even though he completely simps over you he cannot wrap his head around the idea that you are not mocking him. - because he believes you are out of his league
A/N; This is my first story ever and I kind of wrote it out of spite, since there are WAY to little stories about my man Coulson. English is not my first or second language so I’m sorry if there are any mistakes. My requests are open btw, so feel free to send them. Happy reading!
Coulsons POV:
I walked into the main room of the bus and saw her face; “Hey there Coulson, looking good as always wearing your suit!” she said, I kept my smile but the fact that she mocked me day in day out was starting to get the best of me. “Hello agent, here’s the file for your next mission” I answered shortly. “Someone isn’t a morning person” she said, smiling in my direction.
I am the boss; I am the one that chooses whether she can say that to me. Do something about it Phil!
No, she will hate me for it, and it is not professional to get feelings into my job!
This is not feelings it is basic respect! And besides, she doesn’t care about my feelings either!
That was just a joke, I’m being cranky.
“Uhm, yes. I forgot my morning coffee today” to be fair that was not a lie. She looked at me for a few seconds and then said, “Oh, should I get your coffee for you? I know you always switch it up a little, so what do you want today?”
How does she know that? Has she been watching me? Does she care about me?
No, I’m being dramatic. She is probably just finding a way to tease me. She’s trying to tease me for not being able to do it myself.
“I am fully capable of caring for myself, thanks.” I said curtly. Her face fell, and she looked… hurt?
She does care about me! See! She wasn’t kidding!
Or she just likes it more when I am acting dumb in front of her like I always do. She’s probably disappointed that she cannot laugh in my face.
She would never laugh in my face.
“I didn’t mean it that way Coulson. I am sorry if it looked like that. I’m acting stupid anyway… I am going to go training. Bye.” She answered somberly. She walked out and I heard her entering the training room.
Dammit. She did mean it. But why does she even care?
Maybe I should go tell her that I’m sorry for talking that way?
Those are my feelings for her talking. She has the file for her next mission, my job is done for now.
I walked up to the coffee machine and pondered about what coffee to get, but I just could not get her of my mind; did she really mean what she said or was she kidding? I may have stood there for minutes, until I heard Skye entering the main room and she said, “You better tell her why you feel like you are so much better than her because I swear you, I’m going to punch you in the face if you hurt her feelings like that again.” “What? What are you talking about?” I answered.
She likes me?
“She had been flirting with you for months Coulson. Tell her you don’t like her like that already and give her a chance to move on.” Skye near-yelled at me.
She likes me.
“But- I-I don’t get it? She has been teasing me about liking her, she’s the one who should apologize!” I yelled back. “Teasing you?! You have been so oblivious to her flirting because you think she is teasing you? What kind of a shitty spy are you!?”
SHE LIKES ME!!!
“I’ve got to tell her” I said, still confused.
THE MOST PERFECT WOMAN IN THE UNIVERSE LIKES ME BACK!!!!
I ran out before Skye could answer, running into the training room. I heard… crying?
I ran towards the noise and saw her crying on the floor. She must not have noticed me, either that or she did not mind me seeing her crying. I walked closer to her and kneeled next to her. I opened my arms and pulled her towards me softly. She flinched away from me, looking up with red, puffy eyes. “Coulson? What are you doing here?” She asked, her voice sounded like she was ill. “Shh, I am not here to make fun of you. Just come here” said and opened my arms again, and she just accepted the embrace.
“Why are you giving me so much mixed signals Coulson? You ignore my flirting but always stare at me and blush when you think I am not looking. And now this? I just don’t understand you…” She said, sounding confused and hurt       .
I slowly moved my hand to her hair and answered; “I thought you were making fun of me with your ‘flirting’. I just think you are way out of my league.” “So… you don’t like me?” “I do like you, I just thought you would never like me. If you are able to get anyone you want at your feet, why choose me?”
She pulled away from the hug and an angry expression was put instead of the sad one. Did I say something wrong? “That is it? That kept you from flirting back these months? You thinking I’m out of your league?!” She yelled. – what is it with women yelling at me today? –
“I’m sorry I-” and then she kissed me.
She’s kissing me she’s kissing me she’s kissing me she’s kissing me she’s kissing me
Her usual level of confidence was back when she asked me; “So, how about we go out sometime, huh?” I just looked at her, dumbfounded. “Hellooo, earth to Phil Coulson, do you read?” She said, laughing as she waved her hand in front of my face. I snapped out of my trance and quickly answered; “Yes. Please go out with me. Please.” She smiles and softly grabs the side of my face, “You look good when you are begging darling” she said, before giving me a soft kiss.
She’s confident;
She’s perfect;
She’s mine.
She’s mine.
THE ATTRACTIVE THINGS JJ MAYBANK DOES
Tumblr media
calls you a plethora of nicknames. he is a nickname kind of guy, i don’t make the rules! whether he is in the mood to tease or just simply acknowledge you, nicknames are his way of going at it. jj enjoys the way you roll your eyes and look away, slightly annoyed at him (and the butterflies that erupt in the pit of your stomach). he started doing it as a joke, but after a while, it just stuck. his favorites are definitely baby, pretty girl, and princess.
he does not hesitate to take the blame for you. with you being one of the most, if not the most, important thing in his life, he would much rather take the fall for something you did than have you face the consequences. even if it is something incredibly small, he’ll gladly take a step forward for your sake.
lets you fiddle with his rings. as a ring girlie myself, i will fight anyone and everyone who objects to this headcanon. when you’re bored in class, tired of listening to mr. sunn drone on and on about some history lesson, jj will pick up on your weariness and just offer you his hand. and, of course, you happily toy with the rings on his splayed fingers, spinning the jewelry that reflects daylight from the classroom windows. you can’t help but enjoy the warmth of his palm under your touch, forever content running your fingers over the smoothed out calluses and warm metal.
wears sleeveless shirts under your request. knowing you have quite the obsession with his arms (as you should), he likes to show them off. when he wears muscle tees or wife-beaters he is always sure to be extra smug about it, often wrapping his strong arms around your waist and shoulders. occasionally, when you’re feeling a little bolder than normal, you’ll even take the initiative of linking his elbow with yours as the two of you either walk or simply just stand side by side, not missing the opportunity to have his tanned skin against yours, bicep within your hold.
is the “wear whatever you want, i can fight” type of boyfriend. jj loves seeing you in provocative and revealing clothing (not including a bathing suit). whether you wear it often or not, you can count on the fact that he will immediately rush to tell you how gorgeous you are, his eyes bright and lips pulled into a flirtatious smile. “you look nice, baby.” the expression on his face always tell you he’s thinking you look more than just ‘nice,’ but you let his hidden yet obviously dirty thoughts slide. however, if someone else makes comments, or their eyes stay glued to somewhere they shouldn’t, jj is quick to give a warning. whether they choose to listen or not is up to them, but god help the motherfucker who decides to give not just give you a hard time, but also him.
shares his hobbies with you and vice versa. one of his love languages is quality time, and seeing you enjoy the same things he does instantly puts a smile on his face. additionally, if you want to take the time and teach him about some of your own hobbies, this man will do anything in his power to get good at it. you both like the closeness and intimacy of being somewhat vulnerable with each other.
open to hugs at any given point in time. his hugs are just…out of this world. you like the way time just seems to pause, even if it’s only for a second, the moment his front is pressed against yours. and the way he holds you—as if you are both the sturdiest and most fragile thing in the universe. his hugs make your heart beat wildly, and you’re certain there are times when he can feel it thumping against his own. the feeling of being swallowed by his existence makes everything just seem utterly complete. and this includes back hugs; jj is an enormous fan of these. the familiarity of your body against his, while he is able to be working on another task, is such a heavenly concept to him. multitasking, am i right?
is always there, ready to protect you at a moment’s notice. whether it be physical or verbal, you can count on your lovely boyfriend to be right by your side the moment something goes south. while he will gladly let you handle a situation on your own, the moment you send him a look he will happily step in and defend you. if the problem turns into something more dangerous, and more than a verbal assault, he’ll rush in without consulting you about it first. he would rather you be okay and mad at him than hurt and full of regret.
does things just to see you happy (but also contradicts you just to be annoying). being the way that he is, jj will always be a vexing combination of charming and irritating. he loves to see you happy and will do anything to get even the slightest grin on your face, but that also means he loves to annoy the absolute fuck out of you just for kicks. if you are trying to study for school or do something alone in a quiet space, he is there to make the one-person job a two-person job. will not take ‘no’ or ‘go away’ as an answer when it comes to being around you.
Joel was acting like nothing was wrong.
Which wasn't exactly anything new, really. Ever since you knew the man, he always had this rough exterior, that ‘do not fuck with me’ aura around him, and was never, ever, one for showing emotions.
Back in the QZ, when he and Tess sometimes let you hang along with them to get a job done or sneak into the restricted territory, you saw how he burst, pent-up and concealed emotions spilling out of him at long last when something went horribly wrong. He had never aimed his yells at you, though, even when it was clearly your fault that someone noticed you or you fucked up your part of the job.
Just like today. You weren't exactly to blame this time – something heavy fell over around the corner of the building you were sneaking by, and the thug looking for you three spotted you as you were ducking behind a car. Shit like that often happened when you had to work in the ruins of the old world.
Then you got separated from Ellie and Joel when the gang shot at you. All of you saw before that the street was blocked and you were practically surrounded. You barked at the pair to get out of here and that you’ll join them later, and ran in the direction of the ravaged stores, hoping to find a way around the blockade.
You remembered bullets firing at you and missing your head by centimeters. You remembered shooting and killing some of the guys chasing you, then screaming when you bumped into one of them and they grabbed you. The kicks to your stomach, the struggle, some nasty comments made by the thugs before you managed to stab one of them through the cheek. You remembered faces contorted in fury and a man lifting a gun to your head.
In that brief moment, you were glad it was you who was about to die. Better you than–
The man who was about to shoot you dropped his pistol after a loud bang pierced the air and he fell to the ground, dead. Others were soon to follow, too slow in drawing their own guns. It was Joel, of course, all bloodied and livid, blasting a head after head of the guys who were trying to hurt you. You were pinned face down to the floor and couldn’t do anything but watch as he fought them with only his knife and bare hands, as the corridor he was in was too narrow to make use of the gun without it catching on a wall or his clothes. You struggled and tried to break free, unable to bear the sight of the men’s blood mixing with his own from the growing number of cuts on his skin.
The thug holding you down apparently decided to finish you off, but didn’t have a chance before Joel tackled him to the ground, receiving another long gash below his ribs. For one terrifying moment you were sure he was stabbed in the chest and your whole world stopped. But the grunts and curses coming from the spot where Joel was knocked down on the ground quickly told you that he was fine.
You saved Joel just in time, driving a sharp shard of metal into his attacker's neck. After that the older man quickly looked you over, asking if you were hurt, and when you told him no, he grabbed your arm and led you to where Ellie was waiting.
All of you managed to get out and it didn’t seem like the gang was following you anymore. Excluding a couple of cuts and scrapes you all were fine and alive, which had to be a goddamn miracle.
That didn’t mean you weren’t absolutely furious.
Joel knew it and you suspected that’s why he was so insistent about walking in total silence, sending you and Ellie angry glares every time either of you opened your mouth. You were shooting daggers at his back as he walked in the front and even Ellie had to sense the tense atmosphere, for she was unusually quiet.
You knew Joel Miller was a protector at heart. That, among other things, was what made you care for him more than anyone else in your life, more than you’d care for a companion or even a friend. His caring, gentle nature hidden from the world under the rough exterior was what ultimately made you fall for him.
But no matter how attractive and admirable you found him, it drove you up the fucking wall that he never listened to you, never let you do anything even slightly risky or dangerous, like he always expected you to mess up. He didn’t even want you to sneak outside the QZ with him and Tess, and it was the other woman who finally convinced him.
You hated the thought that he might see you as a daughter, or worse - a burden. But the age gap between you two seemed bigger and bigger every time he did something like that, going after you because he didn’t trust you to get the job done.
And you hated it.
Only when the place you’ll spend the night in was picked and Joel took off his backpack with a wince of pain, you marched over to him and shoved his chest in frustration. Even though he was tired and hurt, he still towered over you and was much heavier, which made taking your anger out on him extremely difficult.
“The hell you're doing?” he asked incredulously, looking almost surprised at the fury painting your face.
“Don’t you ever think about doing something like that again, Joel!” you yelled at him, knowing you’re too far for any unwanted ears to hear you screaming. “I fucking told you to take Ellie and run! Why the hell did you come back?!”
“You’d prefer me to leave you behind and let those bastards do whatever sick things they wanted to do? A ‘thank you’ would be nice.”
Okay, now you were seething. You clenched your jaw and pushed him again, feeling honestly so fed up with his bullshit.
“Why don’t you ever listen to me?! You almost fucking died, not to mention you put Ellie in danger, too!”
“Hey, I was safe!” Ellie chimed in, straightening from the place she was sitting in on her sleeping bag. “And there wasn’t actually–”
“Ellie,” Joel cut her short harshly, making it clear it’s not the time for her usual sarcasm. She rolled her eyes and muttered something about grumpy old men, turning their back to them.
You huffed and turned around, going deeper into the woods. Joel said your name but when you didn’t react he went after you with long strides, grabbing your arm and halting you.
“Will you tell me what’s going on?”
“You know damn well what’s going on!” You yanked your arm out of his grasp. “I told you to go and you didn’t listen, like always, and probably had to hack your way through the whole group of these idiots just to almost get yourself killed because of me!”
“Did you really expect me to leave you behind?” he asked with his voice raised.
“Yes! At that moment it wasn’t about me, I was thinking about Ellie and you! She’s way more important than I am! You’re more important!”
“Don’t you dare say somethin–”
“Do you think I’d be able to take Ellie across the country without getting any of us killed?!” You threw your hand to the side, huffing with anger. “I don’t have your skills and experience. You’re the only one able to handle it on your own, so if any of us is to die, it will be me, no questions asked.”
“Like hell it’ll be you!” He was seething now, too, and he came up to you in two long, angry strides, stopping just before he could stomp on your shoes. Suddenly you two were so close that you could feel his breath on your face. “I am not fucking letting you get yourself killed! Not now and not ever.”
“Can’t you just think logically for a second?!” you shouted in his face, tears of rage and helplessness gathering in your eyes. “I’m a goddamn burden to you both! Yes, it was me who alerted them of our presence and I understand that’s probably why you never trusted me…” Actually saying those words out loud was more painful than you anticipated and you had to take a deep breath to calm yourself down. “It’s just, I can’t fight like you can, I’m not as valuable as Ellie, I…”
You had to press your lips together not to sob accidentally. Although you knew you had to make your point across, you still didn’t want Joel to see how weak you actually are.
“But I’m not fucking useless, understand?” you said sternly, looking him dead in the eyes. “I am gonna help you both go as far as possible, but if we’re ever in that kind of situation again, you’re leaving me behind and I’m buying you and Ellie as much time as I can.”
His expression hardened and he started to shake his head, but you beat him to it.
“I know you never wanted me to go on any missions with you, but just once let me be useful, alright? Even if all I can do is buy you a couple of precious minutes.”
“By letting yourself die.”
He said it with such finality and disbelief, all your anger got swept off and replaced by weariness. You sighed heavily and leaned against a tree.
“Yes, Joel. I know you’d rather not lose anyone else, but if I have a chance to help those I care about…” You realized you said too much and shook your head. “I don’t understand why it is such a big deal for you.”
He opened his mouth, then closed it again. His warm brown eyes were on you and for the first time ever you wished he'd look away. You turned your head and sighed again.
God, you were so very tired.
“I’m going to look for some firewood. You go check if the place is safe, alright?”
“No, listen–”
“Just this once, Joel,” you cut him off, not turning around. The tears that have gathered in your eyes before were threatening to spill down your cheeks and you weren’t going to show him how much this situation has pained you. “Just this once, drop it. Please.”
This time he didn’t stop you when you wandered further away from the camp and you truthfully didn’t know if it was better or worse.
*****
The rest of the evening went by mostly in silence. Ellie tried to lighten up the mood by reading some bad jokes from her book and though Joel was his usual grumpy self, it actually helped you a little. The girl seemed pretty proud of herself about making you crack a smile, but her efforts to bring Joel into the conversation came to naught. The smile disappeared from your face every time your eyes met and he looked away.
He almost didn’t say a word throughout your meal and preparing for bed, only muttering something under his breath when Ellie told you both goodnight. You were so tired that you managed to fall asleep almost immediately despite the worry and sadness gnawing at you when your thoughts drifted to the man laying on the opposite side of the fire.
When you opened your eyes again, the dawn was only just breaking. The air was cold and crisp, and you groaned, shivering and pulling your coat tighter around yourself, only to realize something else was draped over your form.
You rubbed your eyes and noticed the familiar green jacket covering your torso. Its owner was a couple of feet away, sitting with his back to you on a big log. The rifle lay next to him, propped up against the fallen tree. Your shoulders slumped at the sight of him and you remembered your argument from last night. You almost laid back down, but ignoring his act of kindness felt wrong, so with a quiet sigh you stood up, making your way to where he was sitting.
Joel glanced to the side when you approached and his gaze was instantly drawn to his jacket you wrapped around yourself.
“You were shivering,” he muttered, apparently knowing what you were about to ask. He said it as if giving you his jacket was the most sensible thing to do in a situation like that.
Was that an attempt to say he’s sorry for how he reacted earlier? You decided not to question his intentions too much and instead sat down next to him, nailing your eyes on the patch of recently disturbed ground.
“Thanks,” you replied under your breath, still not looking at the man. “But you didn’t have to. You’re probably cold now.”
“M’not.”
Liar. Stubborn as always.
None of you said anything else for a long time. You contemplated whether you should just go back to your sleeping bag and leave his jacket on the log, or stay and try to defuse the tension between you two. Somehow neither of these options appealed to you but it was so difficult to just sit here in silence and–
“I’ve been thinkin' about what you said,” Joel spoke up suddenly and very quietly, which interrupted your dwelling. “And I couldn’t stop remembering how damn sure you sounded when you said I don’t trust you.”
A wave of uneasiness washed over you and you wrapped his jacket tighter around yourself. “It’s okay that you don’t,” you said slowly, not really sure what he was getting at. “I mean, I’m not sure if even I would trust my–”
“That’s the thing,” he interrupted you with an irritated sigh and turned his head to look at you with his brows furrowed. “I do trust you. I just have no clue how…” Another sigh. “How I could’ve fucked up so badly that you’d think that.”
You blinked several times, not sure if you weren’t still dreaming after all. It kind of felt like a dream when he was sitting so close to you, his jacket around your shoulders and a rising sun painting his hair in a golden light.
“But you never let me do anything important or dangerous on my own,” you contradicted quietly, which caused Joel to drop his head loosely and close his eyes. “You’re always against taking me with you anywhere, and–”
“That’s because you’re important to me!” he cut you off, evidently louder than he intended, because he immediately glanced at you and rubbed the bridge of his nose. “Sorry,” he muttered. “It’s just hard for me to understand how… how did…”
Joel seemed at a loss for words and you longed to touch him, to take the burden of carrying the conversation from his shoulders and ease the weariness on his face, but you weren't really sure what he intended to say. You didn’t want to get your hopes up, but it almost sounded like…
“I can’t bear the thought of losing you,” he said softly at last and you could pinpoint the exact moment you stopped breathing. Joel’s eyes were closed and he was propping his forehead on his hand, and he looked so… sad. “That’s why I never wanted you to take any risk, because if something happened to you and I weren’t there to protect you…”
He swallowed heavily, inhaled, then straightened up and looked over at you. The look he gave you was so tender and open, it was almost difficult to focus on his words.
“I care about you, too,” he whispered, and you remembered what slipped out of your mouth when you were arguing earlier. “A lot. Much more than I should, but I can’t… I can’t help it.” He turned to look forward, his eyes narrowing from the sunlight creeping from between the trees, and he looked so beautiful in that moment, you wished you had a camera on hand.
“Joel,” you breathed, but he shook his head.
“I didn’t want to make shit weird between… us.” He waved his hand in a vague gesture. “So don’t feel pressured into sayin’ anything. Just don’t expect me to idly stand by while you’re risking your life because–”
“Joel,” you repeated, louder this time, which finally made him shut up.
“What?”
You didn’t really know what you were going to say. You just wanted him to stop talking because he was only torturing himself with this ramble and you couldn’t bear it.
Very slowly, and very gently, you took Joel’s hand in your own and moved it over to your lap. Ignoring his eyes on you, you traced the length of his calloused fingers and brushed the center of the palm where a cut from a couple of days ago was still healing. Your heart was beating so damn loud in your ears, you wouldn’t hear if a parade of clickers just walked past you both, but with all your might you tried to keep your breathing steady and your face from going beet red.
He said you were important to him. That he couldn’t bear the thought of losing you. He didn’t see you as a burden as you feared, so maybe… maybe he didn’t view you as a kid, as well.
Throwing all caution to the wind, you laced your fingers together and brought them to your lips, leaving a small kiss on his bloodied knuckles. Joel tensed in a split second and you weren't sure if he was still breathing, but you didn’t look at him in fear that his expression may take away the remnants of your temporary courage.
“If I misread you, this is gonna be painfully awkward,” you mumbled in a feeble attempt to defuse the tension in the air, so thick it was almost choking you. “But I’m still grateful you told me all thi–”
His other hand – the same hand he was ready to kill and protect with, with which he was ready to tear his way through the mass of enemies just to save you – lifted itself to your face and cupped your cheek. Joel was looking at you with wonder, the fingers you cradled in your own twitching slightly as if he was holding back from tightening his hold. His eyes seemed like they were made out of liquid gold in the light of the morning sun and he looked at you with such adoration that you once again humored the thought that it was just all some cruel, vivid dream.
But no, it couldn’t have been. Not when Joel’s skin was so cold against your burning face and not when his eyes flickered to your lips…
It was you who leaned in first, but once your lips touched, Joel took the reins, untangling his fingers from yours to wrap his arm around your waist and pull you closer.
You expected him to be rough and confident, just like he was during a fight, to take what he wanted and devour you – at least that’s how you always imagined kissing him would be like. What you didn’t expect, however, was a trembling sigh that escaped him when you two parted for a moment to take a breath and a gentle touch of his fingertips along your jaw. His hold on your body was by turns firmer and more loose, like he was afraid he’d scare you off if he let himself use too much strength.
You, on the other hand, had no reservations in taking his face in your hands firmly and parting your lips, encouraging him to go on. It seemed to work at first, because Joel pulled you in even closer, letting you crawl onto his lap, but then he stopped abruptly and moved you gently away, still keeping his hands on both sides of your face.
“Darlin’, I need to know if you’re sure about this, because I won’t be able to…”
You pressed your lips to his again, this time much slower and more delicate, in an attempt to silence him. Joel finally relaxed when you cupped his face and planted a kiss on his brow, always so furrowed in concern and worry.
“Joel, I wanted you to kiss me for the whole time I knew you. I really, really care about your bullheaded skull.” You looked down at him with a playful smile, to which he chuckled. “Though you’re shit at sending signals. I was sure you hated me.”
“Well, you are hard to deal with sometimes,” he mused in a teasing tone and you jabbed him in the stomach before he managed to grab your wrist. “But I… I'm sorry that I made you feel this way. Like you didn’t matter to me.”
You furrowed your brows at the uncharacteristic vulnerability and sadness in his voice and your worry must’ve etched itself in your eyes because when Joel looked at you, he turned away and closed his eyes immediately.
“Listen, you know now you matter to me more than anyone else in this cursed world. I don’t want to ever be as worried sick about you like I was yesterday,” he whispered. You brushed some hair off his face and the creases on his forehead softened a little. “And I don’t ever want you to think you’re not important. You’re… fuck, you’re the goddamn reason I’m doing all this. You're my reason, you hear me?”
You just nodded with a wide smile that threatened to split your face in half.
“I understand,” you answered, just as quietly. “You’re also the reason I’m doing all of this for.”
This time it was unclear who initiated the kiss. Nevertheless, you ended up held tightly in his arms, marveling at his touch on your skin and the feeling of his chapped lips on yours, and there wasn’t any other place you wished to be in.
It lasted just a couple of seconds though, because you were interrupted by the sound of fake barfing and gurgles of disgust coming from the direction of your camp.
“Gross!” yelled Ellie loudly, but she had a shit-eating grin on her face when she squinted at Joel holding you in his lap. “Don’t suck faces when there are children present!”
“Shut up!” Joel yelled back, but without any bite in his tone. A soft smile played on his lips when he looked back at you. “She’ll be insufferable now,” he murmured and you snorted at how done he sounded. He mirrored your expression and held your hand to his face to kiss your fingers tenderly, which made Ellie gag even louder.
“If you start making out in front of me, I won’t hesitate to throw a fucking sandwich at you!”
“She won’t,” muttered Joel, not even turning to the teen before he leaned in and kissed you slowly again.
You smiled into the kiss, barely noticing stale pieces of bread flying over Joel’s shoulder.
whoever this beloved anon was I am so touched by your kindness! You definitely didn’t have to do this but I am so happy you enjoy this idea and I will happily expand upon it for you!
this is just a collection of word vomit bullet points for the time being but I will happily answer any and all questions about this pair!!
warnings: violence, angst, child death (Sarah Miller), foul language, the same warnings that apply to tlou, reader is Sarah's mom and described as having similar features to her.
Tumblr media
So the general Idea is that you and Joel are happily married before the outbreak.
You had been Sarah's mother, his high school sweetheart he got pregnant when neither of you were old enough to have any reaction to the pregnancy test other than a fucking panic attack in one another’s arms. but you made it work
you both worked but made time for one another and your sweet girl, going to museums every other weekend and joel insisting on swooping you off for a date every now and then
nothing special. He knows you’re more of a diner gal than anything too fancy that makes you both feel out of place.
On his birthday in 2003, you had planned to tell him that you were pregnant again. But the memories of your own fears of motherhood from all those years ago begin to swirl through your head again and you get cold feel. deciding to tell him the morning after
it is his birthday afterall, you want to focus on him.
but when you’re woken up in the middle of the night because tommy needs to get bailed out, Joel kisses you sweetly one last time before promising he’ll be back and you can’t shake the feeling that something bad is happening.
its you that shakes sarah awake that night. shouting at her to put on her shoes when she’s still rubbing the sleep from her eyes because you’ve been listening to the radio for the past two hours, calling joel again and again and again praying for him to fucking pick up but to no avail.
Sarah, bless your little girl’s bleeding heart is the one who insists you check on the adler’s against your better suspicions and when you find the eldest looming over her daughter, blood and sinew dripping from her mouth, you grab your daughter hand and burst into a full sprint until something slams into your back and sends you tumbling onto their front lawn
its how joel finds you, struggling to keep the once sweet old woman, whose now nothing more than dead eyes and gnashing teeth straining to snap at your pulse point as you push against her while sarah shrieks before your husband runs forward and cracks her skull with a wrench.
there’s hardly a moment of pause, just enough for him to pull you up and into his arms before he’s ushering you both into the car with an urgency.
when the truck crashes, you get separated from them. Perhaps at Tommy’s side when the flames rise and create a wall, separating you from your husband, or maybe pulled into the mob of chaos when trying to escape from those already infected-
all joel knows is that you promise you’ll find him: just get sarah to safety and you’ll meet him at the river
Poor thing is already so frightened, held in her father’s arms with tears streaming down her face insisting they can’t leave you they just can’t but her father kisses her forehead and reassures her its going to be okay
“we just need to be brave, okay babygirl? Your mama’s real tough, she’s gonna be alright.”
he isn’t sure if he’s saying it to his daughter or himself.
but when he comes to the river you aren’t there. Only a soldier who points a gun at the scared little girl in his arms and then he loses everything
its when the light is gone from his daughter’s eyes that he realizes. His voice cracked and raw from sobbing that he looks around to see his brother with drawn in shoulders and tears in his eyes but his wife is nowhere to be found.
Tommy says you got lost in the chaos. Everything was so loud, so sudden that he turned around and suddenly you weren’t there.
Joel wants to go back but its Tommy that stops him, that dulls the red in his vision to a sad faded pink because his brother points at the orange horizon not too far from them, so much of the city is already in flames.
“We’re gonna find her, but not there.”
So Joel searches. for the first year spent in the world post-outbreak its all he did.
He became a smuggler because of it.
Information came at a price and he needed to be able to fucking pay it, whether it be in blood or ration cards. He was willing to do anything to find you or any thin thread that lead your way.
But it’s Tommy that asks him to give up. Not in those words of course.
The youngest Miller knows better than to say something so cruel that would make his brother, the only person he has in this world turn on him.
But his voice is worried when he asks him one night in Boston when he hasn’t even had the chance to wash the blood from his knuckles
“You think she would have wanted this for you?”
the fight that followed his words was brutal. Vicious insults and scarred fists slamming against each brother until they're both too tired and bloody to continue. Each leaning against a wall for support and Tommy’s wavering voice breaking the silence.
“I don’t know where she is, Joel. But I do know you're gonna get yourself killed if you keep lookin’ for her.”
All he can do is nod.
It’s a few days later when he meets Tess. Who has heard plenty of stories about the elder miller’s brutality and wants him to put that muscle to good use for some extra profit.
It begins his new life. One that empty and cold but one he can live.
Until of course, Ellie comes along. The sweet and incredibly opinionated girl that makes him become something akin to the man he thought died twenty years ago.
its when he’s traveling with Ellie, that it happens. When a warm familiarity has settled between the two because so much blood and pain has been shared he can’t help but see her as something close, something bright even though all he can force himself to utter in her reference is “cargo”
when theyre traveling through the woods as Ellie chatters away, probing his memory about a movie that may or may not have existed thirty years ago because her descriptions of the plot are incredibly odd he hears a voice shout for them to stop and finds himself staring at a man- no, a boy- pointing a gun at them.
Ellie stills, but Joel can see enough to know that from the lanky figure and dimpled face that he’s young. Maybe twenty, twenty-two at the oldest, but his eyes dart from Joel to Ellie with a pinprick of fear that allows Joel the time to charge forward and slam him to the ground before wrestling the gun from his hands.
He has enough to time to tuck it under the stranger’s chin before he hears the sound of the safety being turned off and finds himself looking up and seeing a gun just inches from his face.
Joel’s head whips around when Ellie’s voice calls out his name in fear, he turns to see another stranger holding her a gun point, shoulders drawn back and a shadow cast over their face by the had obstructing their identity.
“You hurt one of mine, I hurt one of yours. That a fair deal?”
Its takes him a moment to recognize you. It’s been so long since he’s heard your voice, the sweet tease when you would poke at him each time he woke up late despite the fact that you reminded him to set his alarm the night before, the times you’d chide him with a harsh “Joel Miller!” whispered in public anytime he was able to grab you a bit too passionately to be appropriate in public but the laughter in your voice let him know you were never truly mad at him. You didn’t know how to be.
But that sweetness is buried under a cold rasp that cuts through the air as you point a rifle at the scared little girl in front of you.
“You think I won’t?” You’re older now, skin covered in scars from a life he didn’t know you got the chance to live and your eyes are cold as they regard your husband. “Put the gun down and get the fuck off of him, I won’t repeat myself.”
Joel mumbles your name in awe. The woman he loved, the woman he mourned the one he fought so hard to find stands before him like some sort of hallucination and suddenly the world feels like its spinning until you bark orders at him again.
“You’ve got five seconds Joel, make a fucking choice before I make it for you.”
He looks down and realizes the boy under him, the one with the bleeding nose and snarling face has your eyes and his dimples.
“One.”
The one above him has Sarah’s hair. Soft brown curls that shine under the sun.
“Two”
Wait. No, they both do.
“Three.”
Twins. Jesus fucking Christ you had twins.
“Four.”
Joel holds the rifle up above his head and the one boy standing snatches it from his grasp, tossing it to the ground and kicking it far from his reach. He slowly stands, allowing your son- dear god your son- to scramble to his feet.
Your voice softens just for a moment. “You okay, Duke?”
Blood stains the bottom half of his face from where Joel slammed his fist into the boy’s nose just moments before, but he nods nonetheless.
Now, they both stand on one side of you and he can see the resemblance clear as day the same way he would whenever Sarah was by your side.
When you order him to hand over his bag, he does so without question before telling Ellie to do the same.
She watches him with wide eyes, her hands still up in the air but gaping at her companion as if he had grown a second head.
“Joel!” “Just do it, alright?”
He doesn’t miss the way you watch their interaction with narrowed eyes until she tosses her bag to you and you slowly lower your gun.
“Now, you want to tell me what the fuck you think you’re doin’ at my home?”
