in fanfic news, this week I raced through the ENTIRE Garden of Delights series like a madwoman, it's very kinky smut and absolutely porn-focused but has a romance plot underlying it all that will draw you in by the third fic, and as someone who does not usually go for human azcrow this interpretation of them as humans was SO delightful and had me shipping these characters so hard (afab nonbinary crowley who is a little shit and also a mess, and caretaking agender az!! delightful), it also probably unlocked a number of kinks in me and maybe u too (it's a lot of consensual non-con but so so well and carefully done)

It felt like you were on cloud nine, feet light as you walked and head filled with nothing.
Being drunk tends to do that to you at least.
Today, when Mingyu and you got your well deserved day off, he decided it was time for you to be the one to let yourself loose.
Not that he never did let you but usually you were the one who assigned yourself as the designated driver whenever it was just you two. Though being as thoughtful as he was, he made sure to never be too hectic for you to handle if he could do it himself.
And even then, he'd still do his best to stabilise himself albeit the attempts were always hilarious but the thought counted.
He held you tightly by your waist to his side, making sure you didn't fall or wander off somewhere because see while he was the type to be the clingy drunk, not leaving your side, you were the carefree one, wanting to fly away, perhaps even quite literally.
As your husband and more importantly lover, he did not want to entertain the idea of you hurting yourself by accident. Luckily, all the gym hours he’d spend building his muscles to impress his one and only lifetime crush (read:you) paid off, because you used him completely as a support to walk, leaning all your weight on him.
Your cheeks were warm, eyes half lidded, now the pain in your cheeks was prominent from smiling so much, it seemed you smiled more when drunk than sober in a few months. It wasn’t because you were emotionless but rather only smiled to those who deserve it, which was only a handful of people. Your husband is on the top of course.
Speaking of your husband, you suddenly paused in your steps, remembering him. Realising you were clinging onto someone, you pushed yourself away, smile dropping and being replaced by a frown while you glared.
Mingyu blinked once, twice, a little startled from being pushed away and even more when he saw your glare.
“You shouldn’t hold some stranger like that, mister.” You could make out the silhouette in front of you, but the face was a blur. The classic case of drunken forgetfulness.
“Babe-”
“BABE? Are you crazy? Only my husband can call me that! Which by the way.” You put out your left hand, pointing towards the shiny ring. The shiny ring he got you. “See!I’m married!”
“And-and I am very happy with my Gyu, I don’t need you- or or anyone courting me- I am very happy with my relationship sir.”
Fuck. Why did you have to say it like that?
He couldn’t stop the grin on his face, there was no way he could even if he tried to. Only you could make him feel like the first time he'd ever have a crush on someone. His heart raced, almost too fast. He swears he can feel his chest fill with even more love.
“Okay, okay how about I get you to your car?”
“No mister! I re-refuse I don't want to go with you, where's Mingyu? Where's Gyu???”
You were whining at this point, finding your legs too tired so you ended up just sitting. Right in the middle of the pavement.
Mingyu’s eyes widened when you sat down but even more in panic, the smile dropping as he saw you bring your hands to your face.
You were crying.
“Where's Gyu? Did he leave me?” A hiccup came after the sentence, as your vision got more blurry with the tears flowing even more freely.
He rushed towards you squatting beside you, pulling you into his side.
“Honey, I'm here. Shh. I'm here.”
You looked up from your position, making sure to blink to clear out the tears and there he was. Your husband.
“Gyuuu” Your words slurred and choked up as you threw yourself at him. Him immediately wrapping his hands around you, still in the sitting position.
Your arms looped yourself around his neck as you put your head in the crook of his neck, still crying.
“I thought you le-left.”
“I'd never. I would never leave you.”
“Please don't.”
Slowly, he got up, pulling you gently up as well, still holding onto you and your entire weight now leaned on him.
“Come on, you wanna head home?” You pulled your face away from the nook, looking up at him as your sobs stopped turning to sniffles.
He moved one hand to hold your face as he caressed your cheek, pushing your stray hair strands behind your ears with delicate touches.
Your eyes began to droop, the side effects of being drunk slowly overcoming you. You just simply nodded as you put your head back to his comfy shoulder.
Sighing, he shook his head as he noticed your breathing slowing down, coming out in slow exhales, meaning you just passed out drunk.
He softly smiled as his hand still caressed your hair. He wouldn't have it any other way.
[ bonus cut : the following morning ]
You were sure this was your karma catching up to you because the way your head was splitting was surely due to your supposed horrible past deeds. There was no other reason.
“Good morning sunshine~”
“Zip. Shut. Shh. Not a word.”
Mingyu frowned, pouting at your harsh reply, but a small pity formed as he saw you wake up while holding your head in pain.
“That's mean.”
“Not mean enough, I will actually kill you.”
Being the ever so doting husband he was, he'd gotten up from your shared bed, made breakfast, your favourite food by the way, and even gotten ready for the day.
“Have this, you'll feel better so that maybe you can plan my murder better hm?”
And now there he sat down beside you on your bed, a painkiller in one hand with a glass of water.
You grabbed the water like you had never touched it in your existence, gulping it down along with the pill,even if it ended up spilling onto your clothes. You frankly don't care.
Mingyu gazed at you with the same adoration he always had. He loved you at all times, anytime. He just knew that he loves you. He didn't think he said it enough.
“I love you.” You almost choked on the water, gulping it down before it sprayed out. You raised an eyebrow at him.
“Can I not say I love you to my spouse?” He honestly felt offended at the suspicious look on your face.
“Alright…”
Now it was his turn to squint at you in question, as if waiting for something.
“I guess I love you too.” You were pulling his leg, you loved to see that look on his face where it seemed as though someone had stepped on his tail. Like a puppy who’s tail had been stepped on by mistake
“I don't even want to talk to you. Bye.” He snatched the empty glass, glaring at you now, you knew it was not with any sort of malice, you knew him. He turned around, purposefully stomping and then you couldn't stop the laughter.
You burst out in giggles, clutching your stomach, the headache subsiding.
You threw off the blanket and rushed after him, hugging him from behind, hands barely wrapping around his large frame but it did stop him. You placed your face sideways on his back.
“I'm kidding, I'm kidding, I love you. Like surely. One hundred percent.” You said still chuckling, the grin on your face not faltering.
He wasn't even upset in the first place, because the moment he heard your laugh, his own grin formed widely on his face.
“You mean it?”
“I do. Always did. And will.”
And perhaps this was what it meant to be loved. And to love.

I am honestly enjoying racing against her, it’s very fun.” Y/N said “I joke around a lot, but it’s an honor to fight a three time defending world champion on track. White Knuckles - LN4

warnings: 18+! minors dni! smut, swearing, degradation if you squint, public, sex (p in v), fluff if you close one eye

Another bad race weekend.
Another missed win because of shitty team strategy.
Lando was frustrated beyond belief after the Australian GP, sure he got another podium for the team so it’s not like it was the end of the world, but it was only 3rd place.
The top step belonged to his best friend and former teammate, Carlos Sainz, and he was more than happy to share the podium with him, in fact he preferred the comfort of having Carlos up there, but the issue was there were 3 spots up there on the podium.
Lando deserved the win, or even 2nd, but he was on the 3rd tier.
Behind the fucking red bull princess at her home race of all people.
Entering his regular gym back home in Monaco, all Lando wanted to do was work off the frustration.
He wanted to train until his brain turned to mush, his muscles hurt and he wasn’t thinking about HER anymore.
It’s not like he hated her, not really, but they’ve had a competitive rivalry since they competed as teammates in the lower formula series together.
Lando got his seat in F1 first, with McLaren picking him up in 2019 after seeing “immeasurable talent” in him, and he would never even dream of leaving the team that became a home for him.
But her? She might have started in F1 after him, but she was the Australian red bull golden girl from the moment she stepped foot into the paddock in 2021.
They called her “the viper” because on track she would strike fast at any gap she could take, and off track she was even quicker to bite back at media and gossip.
But to everyone who knew her outside of the media, to the fans she met and the people she worked with in the paddock, she was the sweetest person you’d ever meet.
And Lando hated how she had everyone wrapped around her finger, him secretly included.
Shoving his belongings into his locker and his headphones over his ears, he tries to push the thoughts of her out of his mind.
Her above him on the podium, her above him in bed, he couldn’t be thinking of his biggest rival on the grid like this.
His gym playlist blasting through the headphones, distracting him as he walks out of the locker room towards the weights, only stopping in his tracks when he sees her.
Running on the treadmill, zoned out listening to music, wearing a sports bra barely holding anything in and a pair of gym shorts small enough that they should be banned from being worn in public.
“So much for trying to stop thinking about her” he huffed quietly before making eye contact in the reflection of the giant gym mirror situated in front of the treadmill she was currently occupying.
Sweat glistening on her skin, an unimpressed look on her face with a hint of mischief behind her eyes as she made eye contact with him. Oh, he was so fucked.
“Norris, what a displeasure” She acknowledged his presence, slowly stopping the treadmill.
“Yeah well the feelings mutual” He responded with a roll of his eyes.
Seeing as it was a Tuesday, the gym was currently shared by only the two rivals.
All she did was smirk before putting her headphones back on and starting up the treadmill once again.
Huffing in annoyance, Lando turned towards the weights bench to start his workout. At least he could focus on that to distract himself from his biggest frustration sharing what he thought would be his safe space for a few hours.
Setting up for his first reps, he couldn’t help at peak at her through the mirrors reflection. Why did all these walls have to be giant mirrors, and why did she have to be here right now.
Lando got to work on his strength training, from bicep curls to weighted hip thrusts, he put all his energy into focusing on his workout. He had enough frustration from his disappointing race to fuel the fire within him, but what no one knew is that there was another type of frustration brewing inside the Brit.
Lando hadn’t been very active in the social scene lately, putting it down to “being too busy focusing on the upcoming races” to anyone who asked, but there was another factor at play.
A factor involving a few too many drinks after a successful double papaya podium, and the race winner who was currently inhabiting the gym with him, who denies remembering the night ever happened.
Finally breaking focus for a second, Lando decided to look in the mirrors reflection for a peak, what was the harm in a little look?
You were red in the face, almost looking like you would pass out at any moment as you pushed yourself harder and harder on the treadmill.
This concerned Lando immediately when he saw the state you were in, stopping his workout to go check on you.
“You know, it’s only us here, you don’t have to prove anything to anyone right now” he says as he approaches her side
Pausing her treadmill again and taking her headphones off to hear him, she takes a moment to catch her breath.
“Sorry Norris what was that? Some of us are trying to train here not just chat” she says with a huff
Lando doesn’t miss the way her chest rises and falls as she tries to bring back a normal breathing pattern, reminding him of how she looked that night after they-
“Hello earth to alien, did you need something or are you just being annoying?” She waved her hand infront of his face, snapping him out of his thoughts.
“I was just saying you should take a break, you have nothing to prove in here, no need to push yourself to near blackout” He responded with another roll of his eyes.
“Some of us have very strict training regimes we need to stick to actually, if you want to be the best you have to train the best. The team said I was a starting to look a bit out of shape so they upped my training, no big deal.” She states matter-of-factly as she wipes some sweat off her body with her gym towel.
Out of shape? What were red bull on about? She was more in shape than 98% of the grid, having appearance pressure already constantly placed on her, so where the fuck was this coming from.
“You realise how insane that sounds right?” He scoffs
All she can do is tilt her head in response, confused by what he could even mean by that.
“You can’t seriously think they’re right, i mean, you’re literally one of the smallest people on the grid, and I’m not just talking about you and Yuki’s height” he continues.
Wrong time for her to be taking a mouthful of water, because that mouthful ended up all over Lando.
“LANDO, YOU CAN’T VIOLATE YUKI LIKE THAT” she bursts out in laughter.
“Well you just violated me by spitting your water all over me” he retorts, joining in laughing.
“Oh my god I’m sorry, here take my towel”
”no don’t worry, i was sweating anyway” he waves her off before taking his shirt off to dab himself down.
If she hadn’t been flushed red before, she certainly was now as she watched the way his slight abs glistened from sweat and now water under the gym lighting.
Admittedly the red in her cheeks when he had walked over wasn’t entirely from her workout, she would never openly admit it but she had taken a peak at him working out and felt flustered after watching how much weight he was lifting during his hip thrusts, making her mind run wild at the thought of how easy he could throw her around.
She couldn’t tell him that though, she couldn’t tell anyone.
Being the first female on the grid was an honor, getting to pave the way for future females in the sport, she would do anything to prove her worth.
But it had major downsides too, mostly her appearance always being under the microscope and always judged, but also the way she interacted with the other drivers.
The worst being her own teammate, they were very fortunate to get along as well as they did and becoming fast friends when she joined the team to partner him, but it meant that every friendly interaction they had got psycho-analyzed by fans and suddenly the rumor mill ran wild with stories of her “only having a seat because she was sleeping with her teammate” or “Max Verstappen cheating on his girlfriend with overly seductive teammate.”
Lando had almost fought Max once, getting so jealous that he couldn’t stop himself after a few shots for confidence.
Lando didn’t miss the way her eyes glazed over as she tried to check him out ever so subtly, causing a smirk to erupt on his face.
“Whatcha thinking about viper? You look a little red”
“Don’t flatter yourself Norris, I’m still just overheated from running” you tried to brush it off while stepping off the treadmill, rolling your eyes at him in the process.
“If you keep rolling your eyes at me baby, I’ll make them roll for another reason”
That stopped her in her tracks.
“Oh come on pretty girl, surely you’ve got some smart ass response to that” he pushed, bringing his hand up to move the piece of hair that had fallen infront of her eyes before trailing the back of his hand across her cheek and down her neck, continuing his flirtatious torture.
“No i was just thinking how funny it was that you think you could ever make my eyes roll, missionary doesn’t do it for me” she smirked back finally
“Funny, because i remember you begging me to let you cu-“ before he could finish his sentence, she was shoving his hand over his mouth to shut him up.
“Lando be so fucking for real right now, this” she said with wide eyes while pointing between the two of them “never happened okay?”
“If you really don’t remember, maybe I should give you a reminder” he smirked, before grabbing her hand and dragging her to the locker room before she could respond.
As soon as she was through the door behind him, he had her pushed against it as he fumbled to find the little lock on the door, his lips immediately on her neck.
“Lando we can’t, what if someone walks in” she whimpers as his hands glide around her rib cage before sliding down to grasp at her ass.
“So what? They see how pretty you look with your lips wrapped around my cock? How no one can ever make you cum like i can? Such a shame” he teased
“No Lando wait I’m serious, i can’t risk another scandal go around, you won’t cop shit for it like i will.” She said, placing her hands on his chest to push him off lightly.
“Is that the only thing stopping you right now?” He asked, finally understanding her a little more, understanding why she always denied their night together.
“I’m not blind Lan, i can admit to finding you attractive amongst how much you annoy me, but i can’t risk it” she responded with a sad laugh.
Without a second thought he grabbed her hand again and pulled her further into the room, towards the shower cubicles before shoving her into one and locking the door behind them, brushing past her to turn the shower on.
“Lan what are you-“
”You can still say no if you want to, but no one will catch us in here. The shower will muffle the sound and we may as well wash up since clearly neither of us are going back to working out now” he said, squeezing her hand to reassure her.
”no one will catch us” she said with soft eyes
“I’ll keep you safe” he responded before smashing his lips to hers.
Very quickly, they were stripping out of their gym wear before Lando backed them into the running water, turning so her back was against the wall.
Hands roaming over her now naked body, he couldn’t believe he was getting the chance to do this again.
His lips attached to her neck, and she couldn’t help the soft moans that slipped past her lips at how good it felt.
Hearing the pretty noises already spilling out from just a few bites, Lando couldn’t wait to see what he could pull out of her while his cock was buried inside her.
Painfully slow, Lando trailed his hand between the two of them to her heat. Running a single finger through her folds, he couldn’t help the smirk that formed feeling how turned on she already was for him.
“Look at you pretty girl, already so ready. What got you this needy baby?” He asked as he circled her clit with the pad of his forefinger, making it hard for her to respond in a coherent sentence.
“Y-you Lan, was thinking about you” she whimpered out
“me? What thoughts was that filthy little mind thinking about me huh?” He bit into her neck again, making her whine.
“Watching you lift the weights with your hips, was thinking about how I’d look on your lap” she panted out, reaching down to wrap her tiny hand around his cock that was resting between the two of them before giving it a few slow pumps.
“You’d look so pretty on my lap angel, too bad we don’t have time for that today” he groaned as he slipped his fingers back through her folds, before slipping two digits in without warning and curling them in just the right way it instantly drove her insane as they stretched her out.
“FUCK LANDO” she screamed out before dropping her head to his shoulder and biting down to keep quiet.
As her hand tightened around his cock, he increased his pace bringing her closer to the edge, his own high building
“Princess, as much as I want to drag this out as long as possible i don’t think I’m going to last, I’ve been waiting too long for this to happen again” he groaned
“Please Lando, please fuck me” she begged, fuck she’d drop to her knees right now for him if he asked.
He couldn’t wait another second after hearing that, taking his fingers out of her and flipping her around so that her chest was pushed against the tiled wall, kicking her feet slightly further apart to give himself better access.
“You’re going to have to be quiet baby girl, don't want anyone to know how good you’re taking me in here” he growled before plunging his cock into her without further warning.
She had to bite down on her arm that was holding her up to stop herself screaming in pleasure, Lando stretching her out all over again while his cock relentlessly pounds into her.
His fingertips gripping her hips so tight that they’d surely leave a bruise tomorrow, not wanting to think about letting her go anytime soon.
“Fuck do you know how often I’ve thought about using this pussy again? It’s all I’ve thought about since that night but even my memory doesn’t do it justice, i swear you feel tighter, like your pussy was made to perfectly grip my cock and only mine” he groaned out between pumps, feeling her pussy pulling him back in every time
“All yours Lan, it’s all fucking yours” she squeaks, feeling her orgasm approaching hard and fast as Lando basically bruises her cervix.
“Gonna cum for me pretty girl? Can feel your pussy getting tighter, gonna make me cum soon” he pants, kissing her shoulders and neck from behind her.
Lowering one hand down to find her clit again, he circles it with the perfect mix of pressure and speed, making her see stars.
“Please lan, need to cum, please let me cum” she begs as her legs start shaking, barely able to keep her up anymore.
“Good girl begging for permission, cum on my cock baby, scream my name so everyone knows who you belong to” he speeds up his already brutal assault on her pussy.
With that, she’s screaming out as she clamps down on his cock, almost dropping to the floor in pleasure, only held up by Lando’s grip on her hips.
That’s all it took for Lando to come undone, hearing the pretty screams coming out of her mouth, he was pulling out and pumping his cum onto the swell of her ass.
After they both came down from their highs, Lando took great pride in making sure she was taken care of, helping gently wash her skin while peppering little kisses over her shoulders.
“So, your biggest worry is people starting rumors about you with other drivers?” He asks sincerely
“It gets tiring always being called a home wrecker and a whore just because you were seen interacting positively with another driver, the PR team assure me it’s fine but i feel like such a burden on them that they’re always having to deal with it” she sighs, leaning back against his chest
“What if you were just seen with one driver from now on? Would that be an issue?” He quietly presses
She turns around, quirking an eyebrow at him in confusion.
“What do you mean?”
“I feel like i did this very backwards, but I’ve been wanting to ask you on a date since we met, even more so after that night back in Texas, so would that be okay?” He asked, all confidence suddenly leaving him as he waited for a response.
“I mean, I’d probably have to clear it with the Red Bull PR team, but I’d love nothing more” she responds with a bright smile.

the grudge (5) // lionesses x reader

lionesses x reader
part one part two part three part four
…sorry for the long wait. promise i’ll try and keep on top of this from now 🫶
-
leah’s power of persuasion was something you both loved and hated. even more so when it was used against you. because somehow she’d persuaded you to follow your international teammates with her for the final two matches of the nations league tournament.
she called it a welcomed break, told you that it would be good for you to be around other people.
you also hated how well leah knew you. all it took was one well-timed facetime call from the blonde for her to break through your walls and you cried as you told her how horrible you felt for constantly snapping at the barcelona girls, for treating them so horribly when they were doing nothing to deserve it. and you told her how you hated feeling sad and angry all the time because nothing ever seemed to work to fix it.
opening up to leah was easy. it always had been. so when she told you that it was probably a good idea for you to tell the barcelona girls how you were really feeling, you admittedly freaked out. despite the promise you’d made to open up to the girls more, the thought of it terrified you. for reasons you didn’t really understand.
deep down you knew that it was the right thing to do. letting them inside your head would be better for everyone. it was what they wanted. so you approached ingrid one day with the genuine intention of telling her how you were feeling but you chickened out at the last second, and ended up asking if you could join her and mapi for breakfast the next time they went.
you tried to bring it up again when the three of you did go out but again, you couldn’t bring yourself to do it. after everything that happened with katie, you hated feeling like a burden. you hated the fact that the girls seemed to walk on eggshells around you more often than not.
but you didn’t know how to stop any of it. whenever your mood lifted, it only ever seemed to be temporary. something would always send you toppling back down and you’d be right back at the beginning and for you, it was one of the worst feelings in the world.
so instead, you told ingrid and mapi about your plans to fly to st. george’s park with lucy and keira to join the england camp. much like leah, they thought that it was a great idea. in fact, everyone you brought it up with did. alexia actually seemed relieved. at first you took offence, thinking that she was happy to be rid of you but upon seeing the look on your face, she was quick to explain that she was relieved that you seemed to be making progress.
progress.
that was the word bouncing around your brain as you, keira, and lucy climbed out of the car outside of the hotel, the cold english air hitting you instantly. you thanked keira when she grabbed your luggage and waved happily at the media team as you passed.
walking into the lobby, your body relaxed unconsciously and you smiled widely upon seeing your international teammates. your happiness only seemed to heighten when you spotted a familiar blonde.
“beffy!” you squealed, moving as fast as you could on your crutches towards her.
“slow down, kid, i’ll come to you.” beth laughed and once she was close enough, you practically threw yourself into her arms, your crutches hitting the floor noisily.
“i’m so glad you’re back.” you whispered.
“me too.”
“so there’s no more problems?”
“no more problems.” beth confirmed and you laughed happily as she rocked you both side to side.
you squeezed her again for good measure and glanced down, frowning at the disappearance of your crutches. your eyes scanned the room, your brows furrowing when you spotted lucy staring at you intently. you quickly grew sheepish when you realised why.
ella had your crutches, seemingly racing grace and maya through the lobby as alex told them to behave. the first and last time someone stole your crutches in barcelona, you may have overreacted just a little.
“come on now tooney,” mary said, approaching the trio that still held your crutches hostage. “she needs them back, we’re heading upstairs now.”
with very visible hesitation, ella begrudgingly gave you your crutches back and you thanked her with a laugh.
“let’s go roomie.” leah held up a room key and you smiled.
“ooh i have missed rooming with you lee.”
keira followed you and leah to your shared room and you thanked her as she placed your belongings on the bed. she quickly left to get reacquainted with georgia and you sat at the edge of the bed, tilting your head at leah. the blonde was fidgeting with her hands, clearly holding something back.
“what?” you asked, making her jump slightly. she looked at you with furrowed eyebrows. “i know you, leah. you have something to say so just say it.”
leah sighed and moved to sit next to you. you immediately noticed that she refused to look at you no matter what you did to catch her eye. “i think katie and caitlin are giving it another go.”
you blinked. “okay.”
her head snapped towards you. “that’s it? don’t you care?”
“of course i care but it’s not my business anymore. what—who katie does in her spare time is up to her. i don’t have the right to be upset about it,” you shrugged. “the same way she has no right to be upset about anything i might do in my spare time.”
a small grin appeared on leah’s lips then. “and what does that mean?”
“nothing. doesn’t mean a damn thing—hey, let’s go find niamh and beat her up with these crutches until she agrees to transfer to arsenal.”
ᡣ𐭩
you closed your eyes, sighing softly as alessia ran her fingers through your hair. there was a nudge to your leg and you were quick to swat in that direction, hearing leah laugh.
“come on you,” she nudged you again. “they need to get ready and we need to find our seats.”
“fine.” you huffed, pushing yourself off the floor with alessia’s help. you smiled at her when she passed you your crutches.
you gave leah a look and playfully jabbed at her ankle with a crutch, laughing as she jumped back. “don’t do that or you can’t have your surprise.”
the girls laughed as you instantly perked up. “surprise?”
leah hummed. “hurry up or it might disappear.”
“…good luck losers!” you called, hurrying out of the lockeroom as quick as you could manage, the sound of leah’s footsteps following.
she quickly took the lead and the the of you navigated your way through wembley stadium in relative silence.
“so where’s my surprise?” you asked as soon as the cold air hit your face and you could clearly see the pitch.
leah rolled her eyes at your impatience and motioned behind her. “there.”
you shuffled over a bit and gasped, seeing who your surprise was. “laura!”
the austrian looked up from her phone, a grin spreading on her face as she spotted you. “hello liebe.”
you shoved your crutches into leah’s awaiting hands, wrapping your arms around laura when she got close enough. “oh i have missed this. i’m coming back next season by the way.”
a crutch clacked against your good ankle and you yelped, letting go of laura to quickly turn and glare at leah. “you are not coming back. we do not need you and kyra running around causing trouble.”
you rolled your eyes and let laura guide you to your seat as the girls made their way out to train. leah took the seat to your other side and laid your crutches on the floor.
“so,” laura started when the three of you settled. “how is spain?”
both blondes immediately noticed the slight blush on your cheeks as you stared down at the pitch. “it’s good. very warm. miss you guys though.”
“aw, we don’t miss you.” leah grinned and you were quick to punch her leg.
as your former teammates chattered over your shoulder, you pulled your phone from your pocket, unconsciously searching for the results of the spain game so you’d have a reason to text ona so late.
as soon as you’d seen that spain had won, you were typing out a message, not really expecting a reply.
but smiling widely when you did get one.
ᡣ𐭩
“good goal, lucia,” you grinned as you hobbled over to lucy. “finally putting that head of yours to good use.”
“you’ve certainly perked up.” she commented and you shrugged.
“what can i say? i just love laura.”
lucy rolled her eyes and tugged you over to join the huddle. the girls murmured nervously as the netherlands game played on a staff members phone.
you were nestled between niamh and esme, staring at the ground, your heart dropping at the next words said loud enough for everyone to hear. “they’ve scored.”
you felt utterly helpless as you watched each girl react. but even more so as lucy sank to the ground. without a second thought, you lowered yourself next to her, resting your head on her shoulder.
“i’m sorry, luce,” you murmured, reaching for her hand and squeezing it. “i’ll get you to the euros yeah? promise.”
and you intended to keep that promise. you’d get lucy and the rest of the girls to switzerland, no matter what.

as long as i’m here (no one can hurt you)
| alessia x reader | hurt/comfort | 3.1k | disclaimer: mentions of anxiety & self loathing -this gets dark so please read at your own discretion! | a/n: based of this req! initially was supposed to be really fluffy but then somehow it just became 2/3 angst soooo welp. honestly it started off really strong imo but idk what happened towards the end, but oh well. not proofread as usual. anyways, take care amigos, happy reading!
~~~
Your heart’s in your throat and you don’t know how it got there.
Your heart’s in your throat and the world around you’s dark.
Your heart’s in your throat and you don’t know where you are.
All you know is you’ve gotta go- you’ve gotta go fast- because if you stay any longer, the voices are going to catch up.
They’re going to catch up and they’re going to tell you- no scratch that- they’re going to remind- they’re going to remind you that aren’t good enough.
They’re going to remind you that there’s better, that there always will be someone smarter, more athletic, more confident, more outgoing, more fun.
They’re going to remind you that none of this is real- convince you that everything is just fake. That you’ve lost your mind enough to devise your own reality, where nothing exists yet everything is perfect.
They’re going to remind you that you aren’t worthy. That you’ve fluked your way through life- everything gifted to you, everything undeserved.
It’s the way it always goes. You running and running and running, only stopping either when the voices catch up or when you wake up, and if you were honest, you don’t know which one you prefer.
It’s not that you’d be dead, nor is it that you didn’t want to be alive.
It’s that you don’t know how you could explain to the sleeping girl beside you that even with every second you lay asleep, the voices in your head don’t cease.
That each time she comforts you as you wake, shirt damp with sweat, shuddering breath escaping your lips, the words get louder in your mind.
And with each circle rubbed into your back, or reassuring word mumbled against your tangled hair, you think about how she could do better, better than you, better than this mess of troubling dreams, this mess of tangled voices, nonexistent but real to you, shouting, screaming, yelling, reminding you, telling you, letting you know.
You aren’t good enough, nor will you ever be.
She deserves better, better than you.
You’re a fraud, a fake, a phony.
The words repeat and repeat and repeat.
~~~
It’s the third time this week, and it’s only Wednesday, that you wake up, heart racing, palms sweating as you try and regulate your uneven breaths.
It’s new to you, this whole nightmare thing.
You’d even go as far as to call yourself a lucky child, able to count on one hand how many nightmares you had when you were younger.
Now? Now though, it’s a miracle if you sleep through the night.
You don’t know when it started- maybe sometime between the middle of last season and its end- when all you saw attached to your name was negative chatter.
Flooding comments on social media calling you unreliable, unworthy, unneeded for your team.
Offhand remarks of how you could’ve played better, could’ve done more, didn’t deserve a starting position, maybe would be better as a late sub, for the sake of the team.
Maybe it was when you spent countless hours post practices perfecting your free kicks and running shots, only to be told to not take them as much, the dismissing tone in your coach’s voice clear, disapproval clear in their eyes.
Words said and said and said, their intent to hurt, to prick, to wound successful.
It was those words that rang out in your dreams, among the thousands of other outcries you were used to having directed your way.
You thought you could take it, firmly believed so.
You were a professional athlete for fuck’s sake, a little bit of verbal battering was nothing you couldn’t handle, right?
At least that’s what you told yourself each time you woke up in cold sweat, mind exhausted, heart tired as you tried to remind yourself those opinions weren’t facts.
As usual, it led you to now.
Now being you stiffly lying on your side of the bed, the room bathed in darkness, only the sound of Alessia’s soft snores to be heard.
Swallowing hard, you shuddered as fragments of your latest nightmare floated through your mind.
This one was different from the usual.
This one might have even been the worst.
The nightmare had started off as they typically do, the realistic image of the team’s pitch clear in your mind.
It seemed to be a replay of a normal game day.
Arsenal dressed in their bright red jerseys, your opponents in a shade of blur, all the same but unidentifiable- not like it mattered much anyways- you didn’t need much convincing to feel how real it seemed.
It felt like a normal game day, but you saw yourself in third person, following yourself on the pitch like a drone, able to see each mistake you made so sharply, so distinctly.
You watched in horror as you tripped over your feet. Your heart dropped as you passed the ball directly to the other team. You’re nearly in tears watching as each tackle you made either did nothing or nearly took out the opposing player.
You looked on in fear as the crowd begged for you to be subbed off.
Your own home crowd, cheering any time you lost the ball, any time you slipped and fell, any time you erred.
As much as it hurt each time the dream played out, this was normal to you.
You were used to this.
Used to the sinking feeling in your stomach. The flips it would do as you felt your heart break, the realization that maybe you just didn’t matter, the thought that you didn’t need to exist floating through your mind as your throat closed up.
The sinking feeling as you realized you were unwanted was nothing new.
The knowledge that you just weren’t good enough was basically a mantra ingrained in your mind.
So even though it hurt as if it was new each time, you were used to it.
This was normal, no matter how many times it occurred, night in night out, it had become a part of you.
What wasn’t normal though, was how the game faded away slowly for once, a new environment blurring into your vision, the once typical dream changing drastically.
You tried to shake your head in your mind, very much disoriented at the unfamiliar setting.
You weren’t at the field anymore. The green grass you were always so used to seeing, the one that haunted you now in real life, gone within seconds.
Instead, in its place, was a dark atmosphere, bright lights flashing occasionally as you felt vibrations hum through you rhythmically.
Hearing laughter coming from your left, you whipped your head to the side.
Mere metres away from you stood the rest of your team, all dressed to enjoy a night out, drinks cradled in their hands.
You were at a club.
Chest constricting as you watched the girls peer over at you, then laugh, you felt your face flush, embarrassment seizing your ability to breathe.
Quickly turning around, you searched for Alessia.
Alessia usually made the anxiety go away.
Alessia was safe.
Alessia.
You needed to find her.
Pushing your way through the mass of crowded, faceless bodies crammed in front of you, you tried to look for the blonde.
The further you went though, the smaller you seemed to get.
With each step you were taking, the room seemed to grow in size, the people around you taller, peering judgmentally at you as you pushed through, the faceless partygoers somehow displaying a clear emotion of distaste at your presence.
You could feel your heart beat faster with each second.
Too many people.
You needed to find Alessia.
Too many people.
You couldn’t breathe.
Too many people.
Alessia.
Continuing to push through the mass, air getting harder and harder to breathe, you closed your eyes, blindly moving forward.
Squeezing your way past the final few bodies, you felt yourself stumble as you came across a hallway, the door at the end of it bathed in a dim glow.
Maybe she was there?
Unable to stop yourself, your mind pleading for you to do so but frozen, your feet carried you towards the light.
You wanted to find Alessia.
You needed her right now, and you’d do whatever it took.
Hands shaking at the uneasy feeling in your stomach, you approached the door, fingers reaching out to rest on the door.
Surely Alessia had to be here, right?
You’d soon get your comfort…
Letting out a shaky breath at the thought of finally being okay soon, in the presence of Alessia, you pushed the door open, ready to feel okay, only for your eyes to widen as you felt a lump form in your throat.
No, surely not. No…no…no…
Frozen in your spot, you stared, white as ghost, at the sight in front of you.
There, in the dark room ahead, was Alessia.
Except she wasn’t alone.
Eyes flitting between the blonde and the faceless body in her arms, you felt your world crash.
There she was, your girlfriend, your Alessia, arms wrapped around another person that wasn’t you.
Another person that had their body pressed against hers in a way that was most definitely not friendly, not platonic in the least.
In front of you stood the two, hair dishevelled, their eyes as wide as yours, mouths agape as they realized they’d been caught.
In front of you stood your Alessia, in the arms of another, as you finally felt the ground slip away from beneath you.
~~~
You knew it was just a dream.
You knew she wouldn’t cheat on you.
You knew it.
You believed it.
You felt it, each and every day that she loved you.
Yet, in this moment, darkness bathing you as the silence stretched on, the sinking feeling in your stomach and the way your heart still hadn’t stopped aching since you’d woken up told you otherwise.
Furiously wiping the tears that had fallen from your eyes, you tried to do your best not to sniffle, lest you wake your girlfriend up.
You already had a dream about her cheating- you didn’t want to go and make your night worse by waking her when she so desperately needed her rest.
Doing your best to take deep breaths, you tried to regulate your shaky breathing.
Slowly inhaling and exhaling, you paid keen attention to how much noise you were making with each gasp.
You needed to be quiet- had to be quiet.
She couldn’t see you like this.
No, you wouldn’t let her.
Taking a chance, you slowly turned your head to the side, eyes tracing the faint outline of the striker’s face as you wiped another round of tears on your hands.
Every single fibre in you wanted so desperately to reach out, to be in her hold, to let her soft murmur comfort you like countless times before.
But you couldn’t.
You’d get through this night eventually.
Closing your eyes in frustration at the impending headache you knew was coming, you pressed the heel of your palms harshly to your eyes.
You’d be okay. You’d be okay. You’d be okay.
Repeating the words to yourself, you whined in frustration, unable to find yourself to believe the words.
It was only when your eyes stung due to brute force did you realize what you had just done, freezing as you heard shuffling beside you.
Holding your breath, you felt Alessia’s arm reach out blindly towards you, sleepily patting around, trying to find your body, her even in her sleep ready to take care of you.
You couldn’t have her wake up for you, not again. Not when it’s been multiple nights of her waking up, holding you till the dawn breaks, treating you ever so carefully, so delicately,
Letting go of the breath you were holding as you heard the movement stop, you closed your eyes as more tears of frustration escaped.
How many times- how many fucking times were you going to wake up each night?  Why, why for the love of god, could your mind not be normal?
Flexing your jaw as you tried to force your emotions away, you didn’t see the way Alessia sleepily awoke from beside you.
Mind preoccupied by not waking up the Gunner, you didn’t realize that she had long since been awake, trying to give you the time to collect yourself like she knew you wanted.
In all honesty, the blonde had been up before you had been.
Recent days had oddly trained her to sleep a bit lighter. The combined with hearing your mumbling during your dreams had easily woken her up.
She’d let you be though, well aware that you hated that she woke up each time.
So she laid in silence, doing her best to continue her sleepy state, hoping that the night didn’t get too horrible, that she didn’t have to step in, for your sake.
She stayed awake though, lethargically alert, ready to jump in if needed.
Throat tightening up when she heard your sniffles, the furious movement of your hands as you wiped your tears away quietly pulling at her heart strings, the blonde quietly laid there as you dealt with the storm in your mind.
A stalemate of sorts, an inevitable cycle of hurt.
Slowly but surely though, your sniffles died down, movement slowing as you calmed, initial stabbing pain at the nightmare slowing until it became a dull ache.
It’s then that Alessia chose to take her chances, knowing you were easier to talk to after you had ridden your wave of emotions.
“You think you’re hurting me each time you wake me up, but I don’t think you realize how much it pains me to see you like this…”
The words a near whisper into the darkness, Alessia waited a beat before slowly turning to face you, head resting on her arm as she faced you.
Please let me help you.
The plea went unsaid.
Continuing, the whispered words brought on another round of damp eyes.
“You think you’re protecting me, but if it’s just hurting you more and I care for you, are you really succeeding?”
Let me be there to comfort you.
Feeling her heart start to pound at your silence, Alessia wondered if you’d fallen asleep.
Raising her head to try and decipher whether you were awake, she waited as a beat passed, and then another, both without an inch of movement from you.
Shaking her head at the cruel timing between her speaking and your presumably sleeping state, the blonde opened her mouth to sigh, only to be cut off by your timid voice.
“I hate it enough that I have to go through this…it’s not fair to make you go through it too…”
The shaky admission had the blonde’s breath catching in her throat.
She never once felt forced to be there for you. Never.
The fact that being a burden to her had you holding back so significantly pained her to hear.
If the constricting of her heart at your quiet sobs had hurt, then the admission nearly felt like being stabbed.
You weren’t a burden- not to her. Not now, not ever. She just needed to make sure you knew that. Believed it.
“You’re not making me go through anything. I want to be there for you. I want to be able to hold you through the good nights and the bad. Especially the bad. You aren’t a burden to me…”
Swallowing lightly at the prolonged silence that followed her words, Alessia continued, shuffling closer to you until she was nearly pressed up against your side, only a sliver of space between the two of you.
“You make it seem like me loving you is a burden. That I can love you only when you’re perfect...when you’ve got it all together and don’t need a shoulder to cry on.
I don’t want that though. I don’t want to love you when you’re pristine. I want to love you when the days are dark and it’s raining so hard that you’re confined inside. I want to love you when it’s four pm and you didn’t sleep the night before and you’re grumpy because your coffee’s too cold. I want to love you when you can’t remember what it’s like to be loved. When it’s nearly three am and you’re having a nightmare and you don’t know who to turn to. That’s when I want to love you- when you need it most.”
A silence blanketed the room at the end of Alessia’s admission, only the quiet hum of the electrical wiring to be heard.
Feeling her cheeks heat up but not finding it in herself to care- to be embarrassed- the blonde took her chances.
Slowly letting her arm come to wrap around your midsection, she pulled you close.
With you still laid on your back, the side of your torso pressed up against the striker’s front, your hands gently intertwined as she found where it rested under the sheets, she continued.
“Not waking me won’t do either of us good. Yes, you could deal with it on your own, but you don’t have to, okay? I want to be there for you. I want to hold you when things get tough. I want to love you. You just need to let me do that…”
Feeling you nod in response, she moved to place a gentle kiss on your forehead.
Moving to lay on her back as she felt you turn towards her, the Gunner opened her arms in an easy welcome, gathering you in her embrace as you sank into her comfort.
Whispering a quiet ‘thank you’ at your understanding, she wondered out loud if you wanted to talk about it.
A quiet but firm ‘no’ escaping your lips, she nodded her head in understanding as ran her hand through your hair.
If you didn’t want to talk, so be it- as long as you let her love you, take care of you, hold you, it didn’t matter.
As long as you felt loved, because you very much were if Alessia had anything to say about it.
Hands coming to wrap strongly around you, you sighing contently at the warmth as you felt the tiredness of the past hour catch up with you, the pair of you drifted off into a dreamless sleep, Alessia’s last tiredly whispered sentence ringing reassuringly, protectively in your mind as the tension in your shoulder eased.
"It's easy to love you on your good days, but I want to love you on your worst. On the days you don't believe in love and don't think you deserve it, it's when I want to love you most. 'Cause I'll love you through all of them, now and forever, if you let me."
'If I could change the way that you see yourself, you wouldn’t wonder why you hear ‘they don’t deserve you'"
He's a romantic man as well. Only want to do the best for you on this very special day. Showing up at your home with the fresh flowers that have been picked from the ground this very morning once you’ve taken the flowers, he just places a feather light on your hand almost as if it’s delicate like glass.
After that, you just spend some time together, but not until you see an event that piques both of your interests. Just some random event hosted for lovers to have a good time yet the big thing they advertised was a simple classical dance.
It's a pretty basic thing ever and not the first to be done but if you just wanna go for the fun of it, it wouldn’t hurt to dance and have some fun right?
─── ⋆⋅☆⋅⋆ ───
“A dance, my dear.” Sunday holds his hand out for you to take, a charming smile on his face.  His eyes twinkle at you, and your heart races in response. You give him a timid smile as he takes your hand in his his other hand going to your waist, with yours going onto his shoulder.
Slow dancing with each other, the gentle sway of your bodies as well as the melody that fills the air around you both is almost hypnotic.
Your cheeks tingle from his sweet touch, and your heart thumps loudly in your chest. Your mind wanders off as you enjoy the moment.  Before he spins you around, mimicking the bright smile you have on your face "I'm so grateful to have you." You whisper, and you begin to blush.  His eyes light up with adoration as they look into yours.
  Your heart does flips as he looks at you with such loving affection in his eyes.  He leans in closer and his lips brush over your cheek. The feeling of his breath against your skin causes your stomach to turn. he smiles at your reaction.
“Me? I am lucky enough to have you look my way.”  his soft voice sends shivers down your spine. You feel yourself blush more as he kisses you the lips softly, before leaning back once more.
"I'll still love you no matter how much time passes between us."
𝒥𝒾𝓃𝑔 𝒴𝓊𝒶𝓃
He’s so romantic about it, even taking a day off (skipping out) from work, just so could plan out the entire day with you and have some fun together.
He planned everything out for you, his day off, going to the flower shop and the owner giving you such beautiful flowers since it's a special day, or how the owner of the chocolate store just randomly gives you the most expensive chocolate box saying “It's a romantic day, you deserve to be happy.” Everyone been saying that all day?
But the gifts don’t stop, jing yuan himself gives you something so special, a ring that is made of gold, making your heart jump. It looks so expensive. He didn’t have to! But you can’t take it back now or else he’ll get pouty with you, along with the excuse that “It’s a special day to show love and you must accept it.”
Last but not least, watching fireworks together since every year the designs that fireworks make in the sky, makes you wish the day would never end.
─── ⋆⋅☆⋅⋆ ───
Bursts of colour paint the night sky, each explosion accompanied by a symphony of crackles and booms. The vibrating colours mix to a spectacle of an image in the sky.
 You wanted this day to never day. you could see the smile on Jing Yuan's face but it was directed towards the beautiful fireworks at you.  He looked at you with that look that always made your heart race, like a thousand fireflies flying around.
“Aren’t you going to even look at the fireworks?” You can’t help but ask, ah..is there something on your face or something?  Is that why he’s staring so much? “Want a better look?” he smiles —to your shock—picking you up from your feet as if you weighed nothing.
 Jing Yuan’s strong grip on your waist with your legs automatically wraps themselves around his waist. the bright gold firework went off, illuminating his face—he looked so happy— you couldn’t help but give him some of your love–even if it’s just a fraction, he’ll still enjoy it–just leaning in and kissing him on the lips whilst your arms tightly wrapped themselves around his neck.
Just because the fireworks end doesn’t mean you have to.
Singapore is a long and taxing race. It's not one of Max's favorites. However, he can't help but smile because he finally got the racing challenge he'd been looking for. Something to test his skill and push him to be better than before.
When he gets out of the car, he makes a beeline straight for the Ferrari, who placed one spot ahead of him. He expected Charles to already be out of the car. Even possibly bragging that he finally placed ahead of Max.
Yet the Monegasque looks like he's not even moving. Maybe not even breathing. It's distressing to see ones lover in such a state. Max gets that gut feeling it's something to do with the team, and he has to suppress the urge to go scream at them all.
Instead, Max taps on Charles' helmet to get his attention. He's startled at first but then calms as he sees it's Max. The Dutch helps him out of the car without any words. Just gentle looks and touches that are discreet.
They go get weighed in silence. Then Max veers off the path to a secluded corner and pulls of Charles' helmet. He's met with puffy green eyes and a broken smile when he does so.
"Sharl, what happened, schat?" Max cups his face, and the tears start again. He tries to wipe them away, but the Monegasque seems to have a never-ending well of them.
"I did a bad job today. They said I needed to do better with my pace. I can't keep doing this, Max. I don't know if I should continue racing." He chokes.
"You're an amazing racer, and I know that with every ounce of my being. You may not be feeling it right now, though, so what do you say we go get our girl and go home?"
~
She'd been refraining from burning down the Ferrari garage. Sure, she's happy for Carlos, but what they did to Charles is unacceptable.
When she sees Max and Charles cone walking down the pitlane, she springs towards them. The unfortunate circum of their hidden relationship prevent her from smothering them both in love, but she still hugs the two drivers who are drenched in sweat.
She takes note of how broken Charles looks. His eyes are swollen, and his lips and hands are trembling. He looks ready to collapse at any given second. He's hurting and she hates it.
The unfortunate media duties delay their leave. Max whispers to her that she can stay with him, or at least within view of him, until they can go back to the hotel.
It feels like hours before they are tucked away in the comfort of the room. Max had managed to get back before them and was already running a bath. Until he's done, she makes work of Charles still sweaty and in clothes that can't feel nice right now. She tries to detangle his hair with a comb, and she can hear him sighing into the gentle feeling.
A few minutes later, Max pops his head out of the bathroom door. "Baths ready."
It's steamy and filled with bubbles. They both giggle at the mess Max made of the bathroom. Water already sloshed around the floor.
"Bubbles?"
"Why not bubbles? Is really the correct question here."
By the time they are done, there is more water on the floor than in the tub. They'd washed, sure, but they also decided to splash water at each other.
When they dried, they clambered into bed. Charles tucked saftley in the middle. Her and Max's arms wrapped tightly around him. For this night, he will be shielded by their protective bubble.
"You are a good driver, Charlie. No matter what anyone says. You deserve so much, and this world has been so cruel to you."
They can feel his body shaking with cries once more. Hands clinging to any part of them he can get.
"You are so loved. You've done so well. And one day, you're gonna find a team that sees all of your value just as we do."
hi! oh my gosh i loved wreck my plans, fernando is just chef’s kiss because that man was sooo patient he deserved that happy ending
even if you don’t add anymore parts to that story, i just wanted to ask how you think it would be between reader and nando in the future. and if luna gets a new sibling ☺️
Hi there! Thank you so much, hun.
So, a few head canons about the life after, in wreck my plans:
- You went back to social media after a while, and the followers were surprisingly receptive to you. There, you shared small snippets of your life (nothing too personal), pics of you, of Luna, your pets and even pics of Fernando (but they didn't show his face or anything recognizable).
- You found out you were pregnant again a little bit before your 3 year anniversary with Fernando, so you decided to tell him about the baby with a cute little present (a box with a custom AM baby onesie, baby socks with the number 14 and the positive pregnancy test). You moved in together around that time (Luna also started picking up spanish because of the familiarity of living with Fernando).
- Luna took the news very well, you and Fernando were scared she wasn't going to like it, but she was very excited about a little sibling. And because of Luna, it didn't take long for her to tell her dad about it. Which resulted in a frantic call you got from your Lewis late at night asking if it was true, he went ballistic once you confirmed and before he could do anything, you hung up on him.
- Only two weeks later, a paparazzi posted pictures he took of you, Luna and Fernando walking around in his hometown. It sent the world into a frenzy. You calmed down an angry Fernando telling him it was a coincidence, but deep down you knew it wasn't. Luckily, your pregnancy wasn't showing at that time, so no one noticed.
- You sent Lewis a big rant via text, and all the screenshots of the texts the woman who he cheated on you with sent you when you were pregnant with Luna. Then you blocked him before he could reply. There was a big wave of hatred towards you when the news came out, not only on social media, but also in general media outlets.
- Only a couple of days later, Lewis was questioned about your (now public) relationship with one of his rivals. Surprisingly, he said you were a single woman and he just wanted you to be happy. He also held himself accountable and came clean about the cheating that caused your relationship to end.
- Fernando wanted to retire immediately after finding out you were pregnant, but you convinced him to think better and at least finish the current season in Formula One. When the season ended, you were around five months pregnant.
- You went to the last race of that season with Fernando, a pretty dress that clung to your body as you proudly showed the baby bump and a jacket with a big 14 on the back. That was his last race before retirement and there was a small symbolic ceremony to celebrate his career.
- Fernando and Luna got a great relationship, and she even asked him to take her karting in his track frquently. She enjoyed time with him, and Fernando always respected his role as a step father. Eventually, after her brother, Vicenzo, was born, she started calling Fernando "Papá Nano" because her brother called him "Papá". (There was a long conversation with Lewis about his opinion on the matter, and after some discussion, he said Luna could call Fernando that as long as Lewis kept being the only Dad/Daddy)
- You and Lewis manage to get a good, respectable relationship for the sake of Luna. You never found out if he was the one who leaked your relationship with Fernando (and you never cared to ask).
- You and Fernando got married in a little intimate wedding ceremony on the beach, just the closest family and friends. Vicenzo was 2 and Luna was 7 when the wedding happened. You got pregnant again by accident after the honeymoon.
IDK I JUST THINK ABOUT AN OVERALL HAPPY ENDING BECAUSE READER DESERVES IT.
I was listening to hyunjin's Ice Cream and this idea came to me loll. Idk if you do these kinda requests but can you do a fic inspired by the ice cream lyrics? 🥹🥹
Azriel with reader who's really cold but he's still hopelessly in love with her? (I love hopeless romantic az 🫶🫶) but not too much angst please I need fluff and happy endings, otherwise my heart wouldn't be able to take it 😔
Ice to cream
Summary: Azriel has a stoic exterior, and no soul has ever really seen what is underneath.
But then he met someone as cold as ice, and was ready to be her sweet cream.
•○●⛦●○•
A/n: okayyyyy i feel like sweet cream sounds weird but my brain thinks its cool so ignore it 😉
also, i looooove you anon, thank you for this ask ❣️
enjoy!
•○🌑○•
That day had been like any other.
Azriel had been walking down the winding streets of the city of starlight, whistling to himself.
It was rare that the shadowsinger whistled, but that day he had simply been feeling like it. It was also shocking to his own self how carefree he had felt that day and had decided to take a walk instead of locking himself up in his office and finishing up reports while wallowing in self pity since Rhys had banned him from visiting the third Archeron sister.
The day was beautiful, nothing to signal that the shadowsinger's life was about to be turned upside down.
Azriel had been walking past a bookstore, and there was nothing that could have prompted him to turn his head to look at it, but maybe some unseen forces were at work, because he glanced at the storefront, and then decided to step inside for a moment.
The inside was cosy, the light streaming in from the multiple windows not too harsh, dust motes dancing as if to an unheard song. The store was quiet except for the occasional turn of a page or the purring and meowing of a cat.
Azriel had no reason for going into that bookstore, but once there, he decided to see if he could find a small book to read when he felt like lazing about and not writing reports.
Walking through the multiple aisles, Azriel let his gaze wander.
It was some time later, when his fingers were absently caressing the spine of a book in the fantasy section and he was about to leave without a book because nothing caught his fancy, that a loud, irritated meow sounded nearby, and Azriel winced.
A blur of orange fur in his periphery caught his attention, and the moment he glanced to his left, a cat shot out from between the shelves, knocking over some books and racing towards him.
Azriel stood frozen, until another meow sounded, and a black cat and pretty female came into view. She had an annoyed look on her face as she chased the two cats, and, in his whole five hundred years of existence, Azriel had never thought he would experience at love at first sight.
He wasn't one to judge whether people deserved his time and love by their looks. He usually tried to know them personally before he did.
But here she was, chasing two cats as they knocked over books, and Azriel could not breathe.
Azriel's shadows whispered that if he caught hold of the cats, he might be able to talk to her.
The spymaster wasted no time, scooping up the orange cat as the female picked up the snarling black cat.
She panted heavily, holding tight to the wiggling cat. Azriel didn't have to struggle though, the orange cat simply stopped moving the moment Azriel's shadows swirled in front of its eyes.
The female sighed, muttering something about food in the black cat's ear, and that finally managed to get the animal to calm down.
She glanced up at Azriel, shaking her hair out of her face, her face emotionless.
She walked forward, grabbing the orange cat from him with a mumbled thank you, then walked away. Azriel raised his hand to call for her, but she had already left.
Disappointment hit him from all sides, from his own self as well as his shadows, and he was left to wonder why.
Azriel left the store without a book that day, and the pretty female had not even glanced at him as he left, and that gave Azriel a purpose.
He would have to return.
To get a book, of course.
•○🌑○•
Azriel feared she would beat him in his broody spymaster act if given the chance.
It had been a month since Azriel had first visited the bookstore, and so far, he had come nearly everyday to the store in hopes of getting her to talk to him. And, obviously, to find a book to read.
He had been unable to get any responses from her as of yet that were not one word answers, but Azriel pretended that he was making progress. That he was beginning to crack the hard shell around her.
Currently, she was arranging some books, balancing precariously on the ladder that lay against the tall shelf. Azriel watched, alert and tense in case she lost her balance and would need assistance.
It didn't take long, as she winced a moment later and started rubbing her eyes with one hand, his shadows whispering of how dust had gone into her eyes.
Azriel was next to her in a moment, his grip tight on the ladder as he smiled up at the female, and she glanced down, a frown on her face.
She put the books in her hand back into their place before she began descending the ladder. The moment she touched the ground, she scowled, turning to Azriel.
He blinked in confusion, though he still kept that smile on his face.
"Were you trying to look up my skirt?"
His smile faded, and his eyes went wide as his brain registered how inappropriate his actions might have seemed.
"I- no- I would never- I-" He sputtered, at a loss for words.
The female gave him an unimpressed look, turning away.
Azriel was frozen in place for a moment until his shadows whispered to him about how this was a good opportunity to talk to her. They screeched in his ears, and that finally got him moving as he followed behind the female, tripping over his own feet as he tried to get her attention.
"Hey! Hey wait!"
She paused behind a shelf, half turning to him.
"I was not trying to look up your-"
"Doesn't matter if you were. Happens often enough that it doesn't bother me."
Azriel froze, his brows scrunched. She made to continue walking, but his shadows shot out, the ones next to his ear letting out an exasperated sigh.
The female glanced down at her hand in confusion, to where the shadows were twisting around her wrist and weaving through her fingers.
The female's eyebrows rose, and she looked up at him.
He pulled them back hastily, heat rising in his neck and face. "Um. Forgive me. They sometimes don't want to be controlled and do whatever they want."
She turned to him with a sigh, and Azriel had to wonder if he was dreaming when he saw her lips twitch in the slightest.
Master is not dreaming. He is simply dumb. A shadow whispered as it bobbed away from Azriel's ear, swirling around itself as if in a dance.
Azriel squashed the urge to snarl at it.
"What do you want?" Azriel whipped his head to look at the female, finding her staring at him with a bored expression on her face.
He cleared his throat. "I would like to know your name."
"Why do you want my name? Are you going to put some enchantment on me?"
Azriel opened his mouth to deny any harmful intentions, but again he got distracted by his shadows' whispering.
We wish to engrave it on master's skin.
The heat Azriel's face increased.
"I-I just want to know. No reason..."
She studied him for a moment. "Y/n."
Oh it will look beautiful carved on master's chest.
It will look better on his face.
On his forehead. No one would then try to steal him away.
Or maybe on his hips-
Or butt-
To the outside world, it would simply look like his shadows were floating leisurely in the air, but Azriel could barely think straight through their unnecessary commentary.
"A-Azriel. I am Azriel."
She snorted, turning away. "I know."
He followed her as she stalked through the shelves, his mind having stopped working the moment she gave him her full attention.
"How do you know that?"
"You are not really subtle with who you are."
"Oh?"
"Everyone knows you are the spymaster of this mother forsaken court."
If anyone else had insulted or even thought something bad about his court, they would be chopped into pieces and thrown into the Sidra before they even took their next breath, but then again, Azriel's brain had stopped working, and all he could think about was the fact that she knew who he was.
"So you've heard about me?"
"Yes."
"So can I ask you out to eat with me?"
She froze in her tracks without warning, and Azriel, who was usually very good on his feet, rarely stumbled, even when drunk, slammed into her, taking both of them down.
She wiggled under him, trying to get him off of her, and he scrambled to follow her wish.
She glared at him as she straightened into a kneeling position, dusting off her clothes.
"What makes you think that?"
"Nothing." He mumbled, embarrassed that he was acting like a young boy who had only learned the concept of reproduction and how it happened.
She climbed to her feet, but Azriel's hand shot out to grip hers.
Master finally did something right without having us guide him.
We must celebrate.
Azriel decided he was going to kill his shadows, but that would have to wait for now.
"Please. I want to take you out."
Y/n studied him for a moment, her expression unreadable. Then she sighed.
"Fine."
A sudden burst of excitement took over Azriel, and he jumped to his feet.
"Amazing. Can I pick you up at sunset today?"
She nodded, and before Azriel could even realize what he was about to do, he leaned forward and pressed his lips against her cheek. Then he simply turned away, and sprinted out of the shop, already thinking about what he would wear and wich restaurant to take her to.
As he left, he didn't watch as the female who had captured his attention with a few cold looks, who was as cold as ice, lifted her hands and ran her fingers over where his lips had been a moment ago, her eyes blown wide and lips parted.
She stood there, unmoving, for mother knew how long before she glanced around, hoping no one was near.
And then, she let herself smile.
A shy, unbelieving smile as her face flushed.
And there, in the dark shadows between the shelves, her ice exterior began to crumble.
Cracks appeared.
Cracks in which he would plant himself so deeply, so thoroughly, and begin to weaken the mighty walls around her heart.
Happy Birthday Zoro
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
☆ ☆ ☆ ☆ ☆ ☆ ☆ ☆
Roronoa Zoro is known to be a dedicated and focused swordsman. His commitment to training is unwavering, and as a result, he has never celebrated his birthday before. In fact, he has always been too occupied with his rigorous training regimen to even consider such festivities.
However, this year was different. It marked Zoro's first year with the crew, and his fellow Straw Hat Pirates were determined to make it a memorable one.
The crew recognized Zoro's dedication and admired his strength. They understood that he rarely took time off from his training, and they wanted to show him how much they valued his presence. So, they secretly planned a surprise birthday party for him on the ship.
It took a great deal of effort to keep the preparations hidden from Zoro. Luffy, the captain of the crew, and Chopper made sure to distract Zoro with various training exercises and missions. Meanwhile, Usopp and Franky worked tirelessly to decorate the ship with colorful streamers and balloons.
Nami and Robin gathered ingredients to bake a special birthday cake, while Sanji took charge of preparing a delicious feast.
As the day of Zoro's birthday approached, the entire crew grew more excited. They couldn't wait to see the look of surprise on Zoro's face when he discovered what they had planned.
Finally, the day arrived, and the crew gathered on the ship, eagerly awaiting Zoro's return from his endless 'walk'.
When Zoro stepped onto the ship, he was greeted with shouts of "Happy Birthday!" and a chorus of laughter. He was taken aback, not expecting such a grand gesture from his crewmates. Zoro's eyes widened as he took in the decorations and the smiling faces of his friends. It was a moment of pure joy and warmth.
As the festivities continued, Zoro couldn't help but feel overwhelmed by the love and care shown by his crew. He realized how lucky he was to have found such a supportive and close-knit group of friends. They had taken the time and effort to celebrate his birthday, something he had never experienced before.
Towards the end of the celebration, Luffy approached Zoro with a mischievous grin. "Zoro," he said, "we have one last surprise for you." Zoro looked puzzled as Luffy gestured towards a large box that had been placed at the center of the deck.
With a curious expression, Zoro approached the box and hesitantly opened it.
Inside the box was the most beautiful sight he had ever seen. His girlfriend was standing there wearing a long, flowing dress, her hair tied in a bow. She smiled at him and his heart raced.
It had been two months since Zoro had seen his girlfriend. She had been forced to stay in her hometown and protect it from danger, leaving Zoro feeling helpless and heartbroken. He had resigned himself to the fact that he wouldn't be able to see her for a long time, if ever.
He was filled with an immense wave of happiness that he had never felt before.
"Hello Zoro," You said with a hint of a seductive tone, "I'm hoping that I'm worthy of being the world's future greatest swordsman's present."
"A swordsman like me always deserves nothing but the best," Zoro smirked and replied, "You are worthy of me."
"Stop! Get a room!" Nami and Usopp said together, laughing.
With a smirk, Zoro swept her up into his arms and bridal carried her away, much to the amusement of the rest of the crew. "We'll do just that," Zoro remarked as he carried her away, a lighthearted smile on his face.
As they made their way to Zoro's room, the crew erupted in cheers and applause, wishing them both a happy birthday once again.
Zoro looked into her eyes and said, "You are the most beautiful present I could have ever asked for." She blushed and replied, "I'm glad that I'm able to make you happy." He leaned in closer and said, "You make me happier than I could ever imagine."
"Well, that's a relief," she said playfully, "If I'm the present, then that means you have to keep me forever."
Zoro smiled and said, "Forever sounds like a great idea to me."
She leaned in and their lips met, sending a spark of electricity through his body. His heart raced as he felt the warmth of her kiss and the softness of her lips. He held her close, wanting the moment to last forever. She ran her hands through his hair, deepening the kiss and sending a wave of desire through his body.
Oh how much he missed her.
He felt like he was soaring, floating in the air. He felt a love that he had never felt before, a love that was so strong that it could never be broken. They broke apart, both breathless and full of love.
He looked into her eyes and saw a reflection of the passion that he felt. They smiled at each other and he knew that he never wanted to let her go.
"Does that mean you'll be coming back?" He asked with hesitation.
She smiled softly and said, "I'll be wherever you are, for as long as you want me."
"You don't have to worry about that," Zoro replied with a smirk, "I want you with me always."
"Still as cocky as always Roanoro?" She asked with a smirk.
"Let me show you," Zoro replied with a mischievous glint in his eye.
The next morning, Zoro awoke to find that his beloved was unable to move from the bed, too exhausted from the night's activities to even stand. He smiled as he looked down on her, knowing that she was his forever.
He leaned in and said in a low, husky voice, "You know, it's dangerous to be this beautiful. I'm not sure I can keep myself away from you."
She smiled and replied, "I'm not sure I want you to."
He brushed a strand of hair away from her face and said, "I'm glad I can make you happy." She tilted her head and looked into his eyes, her own eyes full of love and longing.
She whispered, "You make me more than happy. You make me feel alive. I love you, Roronoa."
Zoro looked at her with a twinkle in his eye and said, "I love you too, my love. Now that you're officially mine, I'm never letting you go."
He leaned in and gave her a passionate kiss, making her cheeks flush with pleasure.
He then said with a smirk, "But I don't mind if you want to stay here a little longer."
Racing Hearts - Part 6
pairing : max x fem!reader/driver
will this be the end of your great war?
Part 1 | Part 2 | Part 3 | Part 4 | Part 5
Tumblr media
“Y/N is the winner of the 2024 Championship! What a season she has had. One that goes down in history!”
You had done it!!
As you brought the car to a stop in the designated winner's platform, the crowd's cheers washed over you like a tidal wave. You could feel the weight of the moment, the culmination of months of hard work, determination, and an unquenchable thirst for victory. As you emerged from the cockpit, the crowd's cheers crescendoed, blending with the delighted cries of your team.
Racing toward your team, you were engulfed in a sea of hugs, high-fives, and congratulations. The team, mechanics, engineers – everyone shared in the euphoria of triumph. It was a moment that they would all cherish for a lifetime.
The moment you’d been waiting for had finally arrived. You stood on the podium, your heart beating faster with each passing second, as they awarded you the trophy which you lifted with such grace and jest. The feeling of happiness and accomplishment was overwhelming, but deep down, you knew that something was missing. You kept stealing glances at Max, hoping that he would say something to you. However, he seemed to maintain a distance, and you couldn’t help but feel a little sad.  His warning echoed in your mind. He must be hating you now.
Though you had heard him mention your name during the interview, and your heart skipped a beat. " Yeah, it was a fun race. Y/N made it really tough and interesting. A well-deserved win. Congratulations to her." His words filled you with a sense of pride and happiness, but it wasn’t enough.
As the champagne bottles popped open, and the music filled the air, you started hearing the crowd chanting "KISS! KISS! KISS!". It broke your heart because you knew that it would never happen. The disappointment almost made you want to leave the podium and hide somewhere.
But then, out of nowhere, someone turned you around. "Congratulations!" Max said to you, and before you knew it, he kissed you passionately. In that moment, everything else faded away - all the past fights, the misunderstandings, the hurt, the pain - it all melted away. You feel the warmth of his embrace, and how much you missed it.
As you parted, Max offered you a rare smile.
After the celebration had cooled off, you stealthily slipped into Max's room, your footsteps echoing your simmering frustration. You stormed into his room.
"What the hell, Max!" you burst out, each word laced with resentment. "You threaten me one day and kiss me the next. Am I a joke to you?" The words spilled from your lips in a relentless torrent, your anger obvious.
Max rose from his chair, a determined stride bringing him closer. You instinctively took a step back, maintaining a wary distance as he continued his approach. The room seemed to shrink, closing in on the escalating confrontation.
"You know, Y/N," Max said, a sarcastic smirk playing on his lips, "life's a bit like a race. Full of unexpected turns, and sometimes you just have to go with the flow." His words hung in the air, a blend of nonchalance and underlying meaning, adding fuel to the fiery exchange.
"What the fuck does that even mean!" you exclaimed, frustration etched on your face. Max's response was a lean-in, his words a whispered retort. "Nothing. Congratulations. You can go celebrate now. Don't waste your time with me; Lando must be waiting for you." The barb landed, intensifying your anger.
"Really? Are you really doing this? For someone who is so smart on the track, you sure are equally stupid off it!" you shot back, your words sharp as daggers. Max's perplexed "What?" only fueled your fire.
"It's none of your business, but Lando is just a friend. And if you were so jealous of me being with him, you shouldn't have let me go in the first place," you declared, your voice teetering on the edge of breaking. "I wasn't jealous. I only wanted to focus on the championship," Max tried to defend himself, his words a feeble attempt to douse the growing flames.
"Your eyes can never lie, Max. And I hate that you didn't find me worthy enough to share your doubts with. You never do things right!" you blurted out, tears mingling with the fiery intensity. Pushing him away, you swung open the door, leaving the room.
A party was arranged to celebrate your and the team's success. Red Bull had won the Constructors Championship, and a 1-2 position for you and Max was all but confirmed. The celebration took place in a club, with you donning your best black dress and perfect makeup. As you entered, cheers erupted, drinks were called, and someone from the team pulled you onto the dance floor. Everything felt right until you spotted Max standing in a corner with a drink in hand, his eyes fixed on you.
You stopped dancing, and your gaze locked. Tension filled the room, and people started to notice. Max placed his drink on the table and started walking toward you. Time seemed to slow down, and he stopped right in front of you, dangerously close.
Your heart was pounding in your chest as you asked Max, "What are you doing?" The anticipation was palpable in your voice, and you couldn't wait to see what he had in store. "Doing things right," he replied, grabbing your face in his hands and kissing you passionately. The entire club erupted in cheers, and the music blasted through the speakers. People started recording the moment, capturing the pure excitement and joy in the air. As Max's lips met yours, you felt like you were on top of the world. This was the Max you'd missed so much - the one who could make you feel alive with just one touch. Despite all the time you'd spent apart, you couldn't help but feel happy to have him back in your arms.
As you broke apart, Max whispered in your ear, "Wanna go somewhere quiet?"
The ocean breeze was cool against your skin, the water rippling around you as you rode atop your ilu. It would have been relaxing, had you not been actively searching for your idiot brother. Though the tides were calm, the sea blended into the vastness of the night sky. You found it difficult to navigate the waters, unable to tell where the sea ended and where the sky started.
However tired you were, you pushed forward, determined to find Lo’ak and bring him back to the village safely. Everything happened in a blur – Ao’nung’s words sending you and your family into a frenzy, you hastily getting onto an ilu and riding out into the ocean. Your brother had sought out the reef boy to apologize for the events that occurred earlier that day, under strict orders from your father to reconcile with the chief’s son.
That order was directed at you too, though you had no intention of following through with it. Rarely did you ever go against your dad, but this time you had good reason to do so. Ao’nung and his friends had deserved what had happened to them, and no way in hell were you going to succumb to his antics simply because of his rank in the clan.
Ignoring your anger you called out into the silent air, waiting desperately for a call back. Lo’ak was a pain at times, but at the end of the day he was still your brother – your twin brother. He knew you better than anyone else and vice versa. If anything happened to him you would never forgive yourself – he was your responsibility as much as you were his. The bond between twins was forever sacred, and losing your other half would destroy you in ways nobody would be able to understand.
Your ilu started to thrash, signaling to you that she felt your worriedness and exhaustion. You stroked her head, assuring her that she would be able to rest soon. You wanted to believe that as well, believe that you would spot your brother any time now and leave your worries in the past. You said a silent prayer to Eywa, hoping that She would guide you to him.
The will of the Great Mother flowed through all of the People, and Her will gave you the strength you desperately needed. As you turned to check behind some of  the rocks, you caught a glimpse of a bioluminescent path fading away as you continued to near them. You saw him then, sitting on a rock catching his breath. You nearly flew off your ilu as you raced towards him, calling his name in relief.
“Lo’ak!” You yelled as you threw your arms around him, your heart beating erratically, unable to handle all of the emotions you were feeling. When you finally let him out of your grasp, you smacked him on the head before checking to make sure he was alright.
“You are an idiot,” You said as you examined his body for wounds, making sure that there weren’t any serious ones. “What were you thinking! I told you it was useless to reconcile with that asshole.”
He shook his head and placed a hand on your arm to reassure you that he was fine. “I know, but really sister, I am fine.”
His calm demeanor was startling – in no way was he displaying any sort of fear or distress. It bothered you slightly, your brother wasn’t one to stay silent about anything. You tried to show that you understood, but you knew that he could see past the feigned look of acceptance on your face.
Wasting no more time, you called out for your ilu and made sure that Lo’ak was secured properly before swimming back to the village.
Tumblr media
When you arrived, your father was the first to greet you guys, his arms instantly wrapping around both of you. He took a good look at Lo’ak and then you, and you could see the look of relief as he realized that Lo’ak was unharmed and you were fine. While he pulled your brother to the side to further examine him, you finally felt the gazes of the villagers all over you.
You wanted to run away — you hadn’t gotten used to the stares yet, and you figured you never would. But you stood your ground, opting not to hide behind your brother and father. You caught the stare of a particularly familiar Metkayinan boy. You nearly hissed, your suppressed anger bubbling to the top of your head.
“You!” You yelled, your voice laced in venom as you started for Ao’nung. He stepped back, a defensive reaction as he hadn’t expected you to go after him in front of everyone.
Before you could do anything else, you felt someone pull you back. You were about to shake out of their grasp until you realized it was your mother. Slowly, you yielded any efforts to fight against her.
“Ma’ite,” She warned, her tone soft yet stern. “Be calm, my daughter. Do not be rash.”
You swallowed any form of retort back — your mother was right to stop whatever outburst you were about to have. It was not wise to cause a scene, especially after what had just happened.
You sighed, closing your eyes and bowing your head in response. With your mother reassured, she rushed over to Lo’ak and your father. You could hear her scold him, threatening to pluck his eyes out. You wanted to defend him, call out the real cause of this situation. But you held your tongue instead, tapping your foot unsteadily and swinging your tail back and forth. You looked up at Ao’nung and watched as he hung his head in shame.
Serves him right. You wondered if he actually felt sorry for his actions or if he was just sorry that he was caught. It was most likely the latter — Ao’nung was set on making your lives a living hell the moment you landed in Awa’atlu.
“My son knows better than to take him outside the reef.” Tonowari announced suddenly, his voice booming in the night. “The blame is his.”
Ao’nung was now bent on one knee, his head still hung in shame. He refused to look at anything but the ground, and he especially did his best to avoid your searing gaze. Seeing him pay for his antics was rewarding, and you could finally feel a weight being lifted off your shoulders.
The feeling went away as soon as it came though, as Lo’ak had decided to speak on behalf of Ao’nung. “No, this is not Ao’nung’s fault. This was my idea.”
You immediately grabbed his arm, pulling him to face you. You hissed his name quietly, trying to stop him from doing whatever it was that he was planning. He could not take the blame for this – it was not right. You weren’t gonna allow Ao’nung to walk away from this unscathed, hell, you weren’t gonna let him walk away at all.
“My brother is lying.” You said, cutting off whatever excuse your brother was about to spew out of his mouth. “He was tricked, deceived-”
“I am not lying, I speak the truth.” He said, ignoring your menacing glare. He gave you a look as if to say leave it be. “Ao’nung tried to talk me out of it.”
You let go of your brother’s arm, fury taking over your body. Eywa give you the strength, you could not believe that he was willingly defending the very boy who had left him out there to die. Your father quickly ushered the both of you out of the crowd, apologizing to Tonowari in the process.
You could hear the hushed interrogation of Tonowari and Ronal as you passed, asking him if it were true. You saw him glance at you from your peripheral, but you made no move to do the same. Of course he was gonna use the cover-up your brother provided for him, he would be a fool not to.
But he would be a coward if he did. You held your head up high, wishing that after this you wouldn’t have to deal with his torment anymore.
When you were far enough away from the crowd, Lo’ak had gotten another scolding from your dad. He gave no fight, no argument against the warning your father had strictly given him. When all was said and done he simply walked away, his face void of any emotion.
With Lo’ak gone your dad turned his attention towards you. “And you,” he paused, pinching the bridge of his nose. “What were you thinking, going out there? I told you to stay put but you rode out without any warning.”
Unlike your brother you didn’t hang your head low, nor did you remain silent. “He is my brother, father. My twin. You cannot expect me to  just sit around and do nothing. And if I recall, I was the one who found him and brought him back.”
Your father’s lips were pressed into a thin line, and you could tell that your attitude was causing him to reach his tipping point. Your ears went down as you stopped yourself from arguing any further, not wanting to cause your parents any more stress. Your father was quiet, though his stare felt like a thousand poisoned-tipped arrows driving into your heart.
“I just wanted to make sure he was alright. That is all.” You kept your head down this time, your tone less defensive.
“Just go, get some rest. Do not get into any more trouble.” Was all your father said in response, turning to look away from you.
You sighed heavily as you walked away, your heart heavy and your mind clouded. Even in the safety of your family’s marui, their presence was a heavy reminder of the shame you and your brother had brought upon them. As you laid in your hammock, you tried to will away any lingering thoughts of the day. It would do you no good, this self pity.
Tumblr media
The next day, you were up before everyone else. You kept quiet as you crept out of the pod, your footsteps light and weightless. Once you were outside you took a moment to appreciate the village at this hour, basked in a comforting dimness and solitude.
It was a nice feeling in contrast to the day before; even if it was just for a brief moment. You continued on your way, heading straight for the cliff formation that stood tall at the end of the beach. It merged straight into the forest, which gave you easy access to the ikrans and the trees. You had discovered the path a few weeks ago, back when you were still learning the ways of the Metkayina.
You had fallen off your ilu countless of times, each failure met with wicked laughs from Ao’nung and his circle of friends. You were embarrassed to say the least, but you stayed for the rest of the session. Giving into their torment would have only made them happier.
So when your training finally ended, you wasted no time in rushing out of the water. You had no destination in mind, your body only moving to get away. Then when you suddenly came face to face with the large rock that seemed desolate, you took it as a sign from Eywa that it would be your new getaway.
As you climbed your way up, the sunrise followed you soon after. You could feel the sun’s rays on your back, gracing you with a warm embrace. Only when you were at the top were you finally able to take in the view.
Catching the sunrise was always a sight to behold, but it felt extra special knowing that you were alone in your peace, able to enjoy the moment on your own. You watched as the water reflected the sun’s rays, the sea glimmering like a mythical portal into another world.
And you supposed that it actually was; the sea was a whole nother world, its waters harboring all sorts of life. You watched as a tsurak leaped out of the water, its bright orange wings spreading out widely before diving back into the ocean. The wildlife of Awa’atlu never ceases to amaze you – most especially tales of the tulkun that were told to you by Tsireya and Rxoto.
You thought back to the night where Tsireya had introduced the topic of kinship bonds between the Metkayina and the tulkuns. It reminded you of your own bonding ceremony, the Iknimaya. However different your worlds were, there would always be similar aspects to the way of life.
You shared the longing feeling with them, missing your spirit bond. Though your ikran wasn’t away for migration, it had been a while since the last time you took your banshee out for a flight. Back at home, you would take her out for rides almost every single day, slowly becoming one of the best taronyus your clan had ever seen since the days before the war.
Your beautiful banshee had chosen you before you had even properly stood your ground during your ceremony. You remembered the first time you had ridden her on your own – it was like a match made in heaven between you two. All hunters shared one mind with their ikran after tsaheylu, but your connection was different.
Even before you bonded with her before rides, she was already aware of your next move. At first you had thought it was because your ceremony had gone so well, but then you learned the truth. She was traced back to your mother’s first ikran, Seze. Your mother, unaware that her banshee had had a clutch of eggs, was just as surprised as you were.
“Ikran will fly with only one hunter, ma’ite. They choose you, just as much as you choose them.” She had said one night, brushing your hair lovingly by the glowing fire. “It seems that Seze has found her way back to us – to you.”
You smiled softly, the memories of your clan slowly calming your heart. Lost in your thoughts, you nearly missed the sounds of rustling vines by the side of the cliff. You instantly got up from your spot, your hand already hovering the hunting knife strapped to your chest. You wanted to peer over the ledge, see whatever it was that climbing and making such a ruckus.
And you were about to, had it not been for the sudden appearance of a light-blue finned arm. Whoever it was, they struggled immensely to bring themselves up over the ridge. Then you heard the voice of the mystery person (who now, was not so mysterious).
Ao’nung finally threw himself over onto the surface of the cliff, huffing and panting as he paused to lay down. You stood over him, your looming figure blocking the morning sun from stinging his eyes. You crossed your arms, not saying anything to him as he continued to catch his breath. It was strange, really, this so-called mighty hunter so winded out after one climb.
When he finally caught his breath, he looked up at you and smiled. The audacity of this jerk, smiling at you as if he were your friend. “Hi, you.” He said, his fangs showing as he continued to grin up at you.
His tone was different today. When he spoke to you it was usually either with quick annoyance or condescending mischief. You tilted your head to the side, your eyebrow raising up in confusion.
“You?” You repeated, already mildly irritated.
He stood now, making sure to keep his distance from you. That was more like it. “Yeah,” he paused, now slowly walking up to the other side of the ledge. “You.” He mimicked your almost-outburst last night, even furrowing his non-existent brows the same way you did.
You stuck your tongue into your cheek, closing your eyes in the process. Eywa, you hated him. You hated everything about him. You hated his attitude, you hated his antics, you hated him.
“Do not do such things when you are standing next to me on a high cliff.” You threatened. To hell with your dad’s orders, if he crossed you one more time you were seriously going to consider throwing him off by his tail.
He raised his hands in defense, the same way he did at the beach. You wanted  nothing more than to smack that smug look off of that bastard’s face. You pitied Tsireya for having this skxawng for an older brother, and even more for the baby on the way.
“You can clearly tell that I do not wish to be near you,” You said, now turning to face him. “So why are you still here?”
His smug demeanor slowly started to falter, and you could see that he was actually, for once in his life, thinking about what he was gonna say next. That was not more like it.
“Look, I understand that it might be too late now,” He reached around to scratch the back of his neck, his eyes darting to the water as if to look for the right words to say. “I wanted to apologize. Properly, this time.”
Your jaw nearly fell to the ground. To say you were shocked would be an understatement, you were absolutely bewildered at what had just come out of this boy’s mouth. Ao’nung, notorious for never bending down to anyone who he deemed was below him, was apologizing to you.
You laughed then, understanding now what he was trying to do. Of course it couldn’t be real, he was messing with you. “Oh,” you exaggerated. “I get it now! It’s another joke- another one of your tricks.”
“Oh man, you almost got me.” You patted him on his shoulder, clenching your stomach in your fit of fake giggles. “Keep that acting up and you’ll definitely be qualified for next week’s bonfire performance.”
Now he was the one confused. He followed after you as you made your way into the forest, your laughter slowly starting to subside. You walked faster, hoping to lose him the moment you started gaining momentum.
“[Y/N] please, it is not a joke.” He called after you, and you could hear him stumble on the overgrown path as you continued to ignore him. You did not reply, only focusing on getting him off your back.
“[Y/N] I am not lying to you, nor am I trying to make a fool out of you,” He finally caught up to (unfortunately), his head tilted downwards as he waited desperately for an acknowledgment.
That last line was what got you. He wasn’t trying to make a fool out of you? Did he seriously think you were going to believe that? You stopped abruptly and faced him now, your eyes shooting daggers into his skull.
“You cannot expect me to believe that,” You spat at him, jabbing your finger into his chest as you spoke. “Have you already forgotten about last night, hm? About how you left my brother out there to die?”
“I did not-“ He started, but he shut his mouth as soon as he opened it.
At that point you were beyond pissed, last night’s fury overtaking your body once more. Here you were, thinking you could at least have one morning to yourself. Oh how mistaken you were. You backed him into a tree, finger still pressed into his chest. However, his expression showed no signs of anger; not even a slight retaliation to your confrontation.
You wanted to yell at him, scream at him. You wanted him to hear your words, to know how many nights he had left you sleepless because of a heavy heart. Oh Eywa, you wanted him to hear you.
“I cannot express how much I loathe you. How much I wish to skin you alive.” You said, your words laced in silent but deadly anger. “I have been nothing but kind to you! I let you get away with your stunts because I had to respect you – respect your rank.”
You felt hot tears start to form, but you did your best to force them away. He had already seen how you handled your outbursts, you weren’t about to let him see you vulnerable as well. Still he remained silent, a gray look painting his features.
“You say that you want to apologize, but what did you do when you found me this morning? You mocked me. You found it hilarious that I thought my brother was gone.” Your bottom lip quivered, a frown starting to form on your lips.
You turned away quickly, hands flying to cover your eyes. Great, you thought. The tension in the air was so thick that even a hunter’s knife wouldn’t be able to make a dent. He spoke up then, but his voice was soft as he went on.
“I am sorry. So deeply sorry, [Y/N].” Was all he could muster up at that point. “You are right, what I did to you and your family was not right. I was- am a fool.”
You turned slightly, finally making proper eye-contact with him. Ao’nung looked at you, really looked at you, and not with pity. He was ashamed – so, so, ashamed for what he had done. It was a genuine look of shame that it nearly spooked you. Reef people spoke not only with their words, but with their eyes as well. He kept his gaze on you, waiting for you to respond, to lash out – to do anything.
“I want to make things right. In fact I’ve already started,” He made his way in front of you, his eyes never leaving your silent figure. “I spoke with Lo’ak last night, though it was only brief. He did what he did because he wanted to spare me the shame I would get if my parents realized that I was the one who brought him out there. Imagine that? The guy whose life I risked defending me because he didn’t want me to get hurt.”
You stared at him for a moment, lips slightly parted. You had no doubt that he was speaking the truth – you knew the way your brother handled things. He thought of everyone else before him, always doing things to make sure other people were comfortable.
“So what is your plan for mending things with me? Or is an apology all you came here for?” You asked, the angry sadness within you slowly melting away as you heard him out.
Never in your life did you think you were going to see Ao’nung fix up his act, but now he was proving you wrong. He took a deep breath before speaking again.
“I want to understand you – to know who you are. I know that I’ve shut down any of your attempts to show me your true skills before, but I am ready to learn from you – only if you let me. I will not force you to do so if you do not wish to.”
At that moment it was just the two of you, surrounded by the lush nature of Awa’atlu’s forest. The sun had peaked high enough to where its rays shone through the canopies and bushes, the light of it glowing around the both of you. You watched the way his chest rose and fell, the way his fingers twiddled at his side. He really meant it. That was really not more like it. You waited a few seconds before nodding your head slowly.
“Okay.” You said, voice so soft that a normal human wouldn’t have been able to hear it. “I will show you. But only after will I decide if you are worthy of my acceptance.”
Ao’nung sighed in relief, a small, satisfied smile starting forming on his lips. “So, when can we start?”
You turned away from him once again, this time making your way out of the forest. By now village life would be starting, and that meant that your family would be up as well. Once the both of you were back on the cliff’s ledge, you were able to see the fishermen setting up their posts, the healers gathering medicinal plants from the farms. Their lives were so simple here – empty of any human influence.
And now you had the chance to do the same – to live freely without the fear of forever being an outcast.
“After eclipse. We will meet back here, do not be late or I will assume that you have no intention of keeping your word.” You said without looking at him, making your way down to the vines.
Before you lost sight of him though, you caught a glimpse of his gleeful expression. His smile had only grown bigger from when you agreed to let him into your life.
That was most definitely not more like it.
Tumblr media
To your surprise, Ao’nung had already made it up to the ledge before you. Still unaware of your presence, he leaned quietly against one of the trees, humming an unfamiliar tune. He was looking up at the sky, admiring the brightness of each star against the hues of dark blues and purples.
“You’re early.” You announced, your voice pulling him out of his trance.
“Of course. I promised that I was going to prove myself, didn’t I?” He replied, a slightly playful tone hinted in his words.
You ignored whatever it was and went straight into the forest, not waiting for him to follow. If he wanted to know who you were, the first thing he had to do was learn how to keep up with you. All this time you had to work under his pace, now he had to work under yours.
He was smart enough to know that, and he followed as you ventured deeper into the forest. Much like in the Omitikaya, their forests were littered with bioluminescent plants that illuminated the dark spots. You were used to navigating places in the dark, but Ao’nung on the other hand, was not. You stopped yourself from giggling every time you heard him bump into something.
“We are almost there.” You said, turning your head to look at him briefly as you continued walking. “I hope you still have energy to climb.”
You heard his quiet complaints, but he continued forward. You smiled to yourself, feeling a sense of accomplishment for finally being able to boss him around for once. After a few more turns, you had finally reached one of the larger trees.
“You ready?” You asked quite cheerfully, something that Ao’nung took note of. Forest girl in the forest, of course you would be happy.
“Lead the way.” He said, his hand gesturing for you to show him the way up.
You were swift as you lifted yourself by the vines, relishing in the feeling of being in your element. Sure, being in the water was fun, but being able to swing and jump from branch to branch was something entirely different. The forest was all you knew before coming to Awa’atlu, and as the sky people say, old habits die hard.
You looked down to see Ao’nung trying his best to mimic the way you were climbing. You were slightly impressed, seeing him pull himself up even though you knew he was already starting to get tired. Now he had a glimpse of what it felt like to be you – adapting to a new setting, learning the ways of a whole nother clan.
When you had finally reached the wide branch pathway, you bent down to offer him a hand. He waved you off, assuring you that he was perfectly capable on his own. You shrugged your shoulders and got up, making your way to the archway made up of overlapping branches. The leaves of the neighboring trees created a makeshift entrance, adding to the hidden aspect of what was behind it.
“What is this place?” He asked, his expression filled with curiosity.
He was a sweaty mess, and you were only able to tell because of the glowing flowers that grew on the bark of the trees. And also because he stood beside you now, closer than usual. The branch was wide but it would only go so far. He had to stay close to you if he didn’t want to fall to the ground or into the sea.
“Come, I will show you.” You pushed the leaves aside, revealing a path to another tree, only this one was larger than before.
Its canopy was so rich in greenery that it felt almost foreign to him, like someone had lifted it from another forest and planted it here. The branches on it intertwined with one another, creating a beautiful, intricate pattern. Ao’nung had lived here all his life, yet he could not believe that such a sight was present here all this time.
His hand rested on the top of the archway, which caused him to lean over you slightly as he took in this newfound view. You looked up slightly, watching him admire his new surroundings. From your position you could hear his heartbeat; slowly returning to a normal rhythm from the exertion a few moments ago.
What was odd was that your heart was the one beating erratically. It was fast, faster than what you normally felt after a climb. You coughed as you moved forward, breaking the silence between you two. Ao’nung followed you soon after, though his eyes were still locked on the tree in front of him.
“So, you want to know who I am?” You started walking backwards, a feat that shocked Ao’nung. Even though you were this high up, you were well balanced. You didn’t hesitate with your steps, nor did you struggle with the bumps on the path. “Watch and learn.”
You called out into the night, your voice uluating as you waited for a response. The leaves of the tree started to rustle, and you heard the familiar growls of a certain ikran. She leaped out then, her wings flapping in excitement as she recognized your call.
“Sìlpey!” You exclaimed, hurriedly running towards her. Her head leaned towards you as you reached out to stroke her leathery wings. “My sweet girl, I have missed you.”
You reached into the pouch at your side, grabbing for one of the fishes you slipped out of your family’s basket. Ikrans were more than capable of hunting for their own food, but you enjoyed giving Sìlpey a treat once in a while. She happily took it from your hands, gulping it down as soon as she had it in her mouth.
“Tam-tam, Ma’Sìlpey.” Your voice was smooth and calming, and you hadn’t felt happiness like this in a while. It had engulfed you fully, and you nearly would’ve forgotten about Ao’nung’s presence had it not been for your ikran’s sudden roar.
You turned sharply and ran towards him, tugging his arm. He looked down at you, mouth agape and eyes wide. In your haste to make it up here, you had forgotten to tell him about the rules when it came to encountering ikrans.
“Do not look into her eyes. They do not take kindly to strangers.” You whispered, making sure he understood you correctly. He averted his gaze to bark of the branch, cautious with next movements.
You made your way back to your banshee, stroking her head this time. You brought kuru up to hers, making tsaheylu with her before mounting her properly. Once you were sat securely, you let out a long, suppressed laugh. Oh how you missed this, missed being one with your spirit sister. Ao’nung slowly looked up, making sure to focus solely on you. He grinned at your laughter, taking in this new expression of yours.
“You seem happy.” He said, crossing his arms in the process. He stepped back a bit giving your ikran more room to move around.
“Oh reef boy, happy doesn’t even begin to describe it.” You replied, or rather, shouted.
He blinked. Reef boy, huh?
“This is who I am. I am a hunter — taronyu.” You shifted in your seat, clutching onto the leather straps of Sìlpey’s harness. “Ikrans are not like ilus or direhorses.”
He watched in fascination as you willed her to calm down. He had heard stories of the ikrans before, tales of riders from the eastern sea who took pride in their spiritual connections with them. But seeing one in real life was different.
He had caught a glimpse of  Sìlpey during your arrival, but now that he was close enough to admire her, he understood why you loved her as much as you did.
“Once you have chosen an ikran, they will only fly with you for the rest of their life.” You explained, stroking her head once again. “Sìlpey is the daughter of my mother’s first ikran. She and I are not like most taronyus.”
“How do you know?” He asked, purely out of curiosity. He genuinely wanted to know how you knew you were different. He saw you in a different light now — gone was the quiet girl who succumbed to his ridiculous antics. You were a warrior in your own right, and he felt the sense of shame creep up on him again as he remembered the way he treated you.
“Watch.” You said, climbing off of your ikran. You walked away from her with a look, as if you were speaking to her through your mind. She flew back into the trees, and only when she was out of sight did you turn to face him.
“Do not yell.” You said to him as you adjusted the riding straps on your arms.
He was about to ask you what you meant by that when you suddenly leapt off the branch, arms outstretched as you fell closer and closer into the sea.
“[Y/N]!” He yelled as he moved forward, stopping himself once he realized he was going to slip if he continued any further. When he looked back down, you were nowhere to be seen.
He felt his heart drop to his stomach. His palms began to sweat as he actively tried to search for you, hoping to spot you somewhere in the water. He was just about ready to dive himself, until he heard a loud screech behind him.
He spun around almost instantly, his eyes wide in realization. You were sitting comfortably on your ikran, suspended in the air. The moonlight illuminated the both of you, the white glow highlighting your features. You were laughing, genuinely laughing, and your ikran spun the both of you around before finally moving closer to him.
“I told you not to yell.” You said through your laughs, your smile still plastered brightly onto your lips.
He sighed, half in relief and half in annoyance. “You didn’t tell me you were going to jump off! That hardly seems fair.”
You moved to land back onto the branch, dismounting yourself once again. “You have hardly been fair yourself, have you not?” You said, although your tone was not angry. Rather, it seemed like you were teasing him.
He shook his head. Impossible, he thought. She will never think of you that way, she is here because you want to make things right.
“It’s getting late.” Ao’nung said, turning to face towards the archway. “We need to get back soon.”
You only nodded in response, turning to say your goodbyes to Sìlpey. She crowed and thrashed, and you felt terrible for leaving alone again. “I will return soon, I promise.” With one last stroke to her wings, you turned around to meet Ao’nung outside the archway.
“So, taronyu,” He said as you finally made your way to him. “What’s after this?”
“We will meet here again. Tomorrow, after eclipse. Do not be late or-“
“‘-I will assume that you have no intention of keeping your word’, yes I know.” He finished for you. “I told you, I will prove myself to you.”
You stared at him, humming in response. You made your way down the tree, and he followed close behind you. The walk back was quiet between the two of you, the mystery of surprise gone for the day. You wouldn’t call it awkward, just, unusual.
At the cliff’s ledge, you paused to wait for Ao’nung to catch up to you. When he finally stood next to you, you turned to ask him something that you had failed to mention earlier during your guys’ first encounter.
“How did you know I was here this morning?” You asked as you looked up at him, searching his eyes for any hints of lies.
“I know you come here often.” Was all he replied, saying it as if it were a common fact.
“Bullshit, not even my own twin brother knows about this place.” You scoffed.
“Because your brother doesn’t pay attention to you the way that I have to.” He replied, his voice stern. “When you snuck off that day after training it took me a while to find you. Imagine my surprise when I saw you up there, sitting alone in silence.”
You were shocked at this information, you were certain that nobody came around this part of the island — at least not where you went. And why had he said nothing about this? Why did he leave you be? By no means were you complaining, but it was just not like him to be so — considerate.
“You are full of surprises lately, reef boy.” You said, leaving him alone once again as you made your way down the vines.
Ao’nung felt his cheeks heat at the nickname, and he thanked Eywa that it was night so that you wouldn’t be able to see the purplish tint across his cheeks.
“Good night, forest girl!” He called out to you.
“Tomorrow! Do not be late!” Was all you responded with.
Although, the voice in the very back of your head wished to say good night to him as well.
The Many Boyfriends of Daniel Ricciardo
||| Next >>
Chapter 1: The Third Constant in F1
After well over a decade in the sport, Sebastian Vettel is sure of three things in Formula One. Three things that never change and will always remain a constant in the circus that they all loved so much.
One: Cash is King. Everything they did, everywhere they raced, every track they raced on, it was decided based on how much money people were willing to spend.
Two: People will always hate the dominating driver. They had hated him, they hated Lewis, and now they hate Max. It’s just how the world of Formula One works, or rather the way of sports in general. People will always hate the winners because their guy is losing.
Three: Daniel Ricciardo will have at least two men fighting for his attention at any given moment. And more than likely, Daniel will be completely unaware that they can’t stand one another.
In the early days of Daniel’s career it had been Lewis and Jenson. The teammates loved the adoration Daniel gave them. Two world champions, young and talented at a team that could win them races but not more championships, had found a sort of solace in the adoration given to them by a driver so early in his career. It didn’t hurt that Daniel was so willing to go along with whatever they wanted, so happy to be positioned any which way, to be shared and used and ruined if they so wished.
Then it was Lewis and Nico. The teammates playing tug of war with their favorite Aussie on podiums. Both wanting Daniel and not wanting the other to have a moment alone with him. Daniel hadn’t minded being stuck between the two Mercedes teammates due to his love for their attention. A heady feeling for the Australian who was trying to make his mark on the sport and prove that he deserved his Red Bull seat over all the others.
Towards the end of the Lewis and Nico teammates era, Max had entered the picture. Young, rash, and so clearly in love with Daniel. So it had become Lewis and Max chasing after Daniel’s affections. A driver cemented in the sport and in his efforts for Daniel versus a driver desperate to clutch on tightly to everything that he received.
Lewis always remained, never pushing for more than Daniel was willing to give but never settling for anything less than what he wanted. A complicated position for a complicated man. Max, on the other hand, wanted to take and take, never settling for sharing Daniel. At least not in his early years when his only true competition had been Lewis and Max had been on the same team as Daniel.
As time progressed and more competition for Daniel arrived, there was little Max could do about his selfishness when it came to Daniel. They were no longer on the same team and the others outnumbered him.
In 2018, Charles and Scotty James had staked their claims on Daniel. Unlike the rest of them, Scotty was Australian and close to Daniel in ways the others never could be. Charles, so pretty and perfect, had been just like Max in the sense he took what he wanted and without any hesitation. And when it had been Daniel, he hadn’t hesitated in securing a place at Daniel’s side during the Monaco celebrations. His own awful home race hadn’t prevented him from celebrating Daniel’s win and claiming Daniel as his prize.
Then came George, a fan who wanted to know Daniel intimately, in every sense of the word. And Lando who laughed like he was dying at Daniel’s jokes about pubes and mustaches. But unlike George who didn’t hesitate to befriend Daniel and call him Danny Ric and wear clothes that Daniel designed just to have his attention, Lando was shyer, took more time. He’s more sensitive, Daniels had once said with a look of pure adoration for the young Brit.
Sebastian had gotten used to dealing with drivers that fell for Daniel’s charms. He knew what to say to them, how to give them a shovel talk and threaten them if needed, he knew how to protect Daniel from getting hurt. Hell, he even knew how to deal with Scotty.
One would think that by the seventh time it happened, Sebastian would have no qualms with threatening someone and being intimidating for Daniel’s sake. One would think that until they saw the most recent victim to Daniel’s charms.
Daniel had gone and gotten an American football player to be completely enthralled by him. Twice his size (and Sebastian’s), Josh Allen towered over all the rest and easily manhandled Daniel.
Sebastian would need to get creative in his threats, but he would do so if it meant preventing Daniel from getting hurt by some American athlete.
My Hype Boy
(A/N: Got this idea off Youtube again and I said why not mix it up a bit Yohohoho)
Tumblr media
.
.
You exhaled heavily as the autumn breeze past you by. Your highschool days were closing to an end and you couldn't remember any good memories that you made in school. You know that after high school, everything will be on your own and it will be your decision on what to do with your life. Honestly speaking, you wanted to at least work after your high school days inorder to help your single mother.
Your mother wasn't a single mother before but your father died when you were young because of his heart disease. You didn't really remember his features or any memory he has with you as the only proff you can have is photos of him along with your mother.
Well lately, your mother has been meeting a guy whom she's having fun with. You weren't gonna stop your mother have fun since shr deserve nothing but happiness after what she went through in life. You haven't seen the man but hearing stories from your mother, the dude sounded like a good guy.
You sighed and just brushed those thoughts away as today was the last day of school for the week meaning you have time for yourself. That sweet update from your game was what your aim this week was. You worked hard to review for this week quizzes and you feel like you actually did great so why not relieve yourself and embrace the pleasure of gaming.
You were infront of your door as you opened it and called out your mother.
"Eomma I'm home-"
"Y/N! Good timing. I want you to meet your step father."
Your eyes immediately looked around and sure enough, there was a man beside your mother who had plastered a kind smile. He wore glasses and in your opinion, he looked like a business man which you presume his career is connected to an entrepreneur. Your gaze then shifted to the small girl who was peaking behind her. Her gaze at you looked like a scared cat as this made you nervous for some odd reason.
"Y/N, this is Doyoung. He's gonna be your new step father."
He offered you a handshake which you complied by. But your eyes immediately shifted towards the girl behind her. Something about her made you self conscience of yourself. Your step father must have seen your gaze as he smiled softly and introduced her shy daughter.
"Ah, She's Kim Minji. She's my daughter. She's a shy girl but she can't speak."
This made you confused. Your eyebrows furrowed a bit as Minji slowly hid herself behind her father once again. Seeing your confused face made your mother chuckled a bit as she was the one who explained to you.
"She's suffering from aphasia Y/N."
"Ah I see..."
"I know she's preety but you gotta understand her condition got it?"
Your mother's stern voice only made you sigh as you nod your head. After a few greetings here and there, You finally made your way to your room and turned your PC on. Your phone buzzed and you were already aware that your friends are waiting for you so you hopped on to the game and saw them all online. Being the typical gamers they are, they began to tell you how you suck at the game when in reality, your KDA average was at 15-4-9. It wasn't at pro level but it was enough to carry your teammates aka your friends through ranked games.
Being able to enjoy the time you have playing games made the time move faster. For 30 minutes that you feel like playing, but in reality, time has moved 2 hours from when you started playing. The orange sky has turned off and everything outside of your window has turned dark as the clouds dissappeared and was replaced with twinkling stars.
A sudden tap on your shoulder startled you as you jumped out of your seat. Your hearted raced to the max as you looked behind you and you saw a frightened Minji shivering in fear. You immediately removed your headset and tried to calm the girl down.
"I-It's okay Minji. I didn't mean to scare you. I'm sorry."
We weren't really sure on what to do but if there was one thing that you learned in school is that you should be a gentle speaker to someone who's quiet or someone who is anxious. Minji was showing both signs and you had hoped you have calmed her down and it did helped her for a bit. You noticed how she stopped shivering yet her eyes still showed worry. You then noticed how she was holding a plate of food and this immediately got you the idea why Minji came to your room.
"Ah, Sorry I couldn't go down for dinner. Did you make this?"
She slowly nodded her head as you smiled brightly at her. You were thankful that she made you dinner but you also felt a little bad that a stranger made you your food. You were a person who always pay your debt and right now, you were indebt to Kim Minji.
"Thank You Minji. I appriciate it. Ummm.. I know it's weird for me to ask this but do you have something in mind that you like? Like food?"
Minji gulped as she gave you an anxious stare. You weren't able to read what she was saying because she can't really speak. She then placed your plate on your table as she pointed at your PC Screen. She looked down embarrassed and held the cloth of her pajamas tightly. You were no idiot as you immediately got the hint of what she wants.
"Ah, you wanna play the video game?"
She nodded her head slowly.
"Sure. Do you want me to teach you as well?"
She looked up at you rather quickly as her eyes widen in surprised. For the first time since earlier, the anxious look she showed dissappeared and were no longer visible in her face. Instead, excitement and joy showed on her face. She did a small hop from her joy which you couldn't help but chuckle at her cuteness. You left your seat to which Minji slowly occupied it. She looked around your PC and was amazed on how your keyboards were flashing color rainbow lights, add in some figurine on the side which added some aesthethic flavor on your setup.
"So do you have any background of the game Minji?"
She slowly nodded her head which caught you by surprise. The game was for all obviously but it was rare for you to see a girl take interests on such game considering how toxic the game chat can be sometimes. Your shock suddenly turned to worry as you quickly muted the chat along with voice chat as you didn't want Minji to get exposed by the toxic words that can be labeled as a the world's biggest crime sentence known to humanity.
You watched from behind as Minji plays your character and mind you, your character is no easy task. They say that your character you choose was only used by the professional players especially in the esport tournament because of how complicated it is to master it. Even with your 6 months of using the character, you still haven't really realized how to properly use this character properly.
But as 5 minutes of speedrun gameplay, you just witness a pro level user use your champion as if it was nothing. The combos Minji unleashed were all so on point and was so effective against the rival team and the supposed 20 to 30 minute gameplay just ended in 15 minutes with Minji having a KDA of 15/0/6. Zero death and the MVP of the game. You were silenced by her gameplay as Minji removed the headset and looked at with her preety eyes.
"Oh my god... That was so amazing!!"
You exclaimed as Minji's eyes widen seeing you jump from joy. You were all smile as you clapped your hands congratulating her for her splendid performance. But instead of seeing a smile from her, she only looked anxious and scared as this confused you. She suddenly stood up and sprinted out of your room leaving you perplexed and filling your thoughts with so many questions. That happiness that you felt immediately died and was replaced with worry.
"Did I do something wrong?"
.
.
.
.
.
"You definitely did something wrong."
Your friend Soobin said in a matter of fact tone. You groaned as you laid your head at your table. Soobin was one of your friends in school and an introvert unlike you and Yeonjun who were extroverted. You realized that Minji must be an introvert after meeting her so you decided to ask for help with another introvert and that's where Choi Soobin comes to play.
"Why? What did I do wrong?"
"Hmmmm. Well for starters she isn’t close with you yet. Either that or she's not used to compliments or such."
The last part of his essay got you intrigue. You couldn't understand why she wouldn't be used to compliments when she herself looked like a girl who's always complimented by her father or even her friends.
"I didn't know there was such thing."
"Well now you know. But who's she anyway?"
Soobin's question got you sweating profoundly out of nowhere. Soobin wasn't an easy opponent when it comes to lying. His sharp eyes and good skill on observing people is what makes it difficult to find excuses to dodge him. You weren't just gonna simply say that you have a new sister living under your roof as this will make things more difficult for you as it is with her.
"An…old friend of mine."
You tried to cover your unsure answer with confidence on your voice. This skill was developed when your were in your first year as you made unsure reasons to your mother to play video games instead of learning and it worked somehow. This skill of yours was something that Soobin wasn't aware as of the moment as he just shrugged his shoulder.
"Ah, that explains it."
You silently sigh a relief knowing that Soobin took the bait for now.
"Wait, one reason could be that she was bullied before and she lost that sense of trust or something like that."
Now that was a wild and interesting take. Pondering about for a while, that reason could make such sense considering she has a disability.
"It must have been tough for her."
Your heart soften imagining how Minji must have felt being bullied because she can't talk nor speak out her thoughts. This somehow angered you as you clenched your fist in anger. The thought of Minji getting hurt didn't sit well with you as Soobin noticed the burning flare on your eyes.
"Calm down Y/N. You look like you're about to kill someone."
"Ah, Sorry."
Soobin's words snapped you back to reality as you exhaled a deep breath. There was no point of you getting angry at this moment as you weren't even sure if she was being bullied from the start. In fact you barely know anything about Minji at all. The only information you have with her is that she's a good LooL player. That's it. Not even her contacts was in your phone.
"I'm such a terrible brother to her."
You sighed but you turned your attention to apologizing to the girl after school. The first thing that entered your mind is offering her a bunch of food. Mainly some snacks and some chocolates for her. Maybe you can add in a few drinks as well.
"Hmm.. Should I buy some drink? But what does she like? Hmmm..."
Once the school bell rang indicating the end of school, Yeonjun and Soobin stood up together as their eyes signal one another. They have plans today to hangout in Soobin's place as they turned their attention toward you. But instead of finding you smiling towards them, your seat was empty and they caught a glimpse of you leaving the class in hurried manner. Yeonjun found it strange as he was about to rush towards you when Soobin stopped him.
"Hey, Yah, Soobin. Why are you stopping me?"
"Just let him be. He must be helping his mother at her shop today."
Soobin knew that was far from the truth yet he had hoped that was enough reason for Yeonjun to believe in.
"Ah, is that so?"
"Yeah."
"Oh well. Guess it's just the idiot duo again."
"Don't add me into that."
.
.
.
.
Making your way at the local store, you contemplated on what flavor of filled bread you were gonna choose.
"Hmm? Will Minji like chocolate filled bread or will she like the strawberry one? Hmmm..."
You could only sigh as this was quite a troublesome problem for you. But then you realized something that could solve your problem.
"Why do I have to choose 1 when I can choose both? God I'm such a genius."
You chuckled to yourself and placed the 2 bread unto your grocery basket and went to the drinks section. Upon arriving, your eyes wandered seeing there was a lot of variation of drinks that you can choose ranging from water to juice and the like. But your main focus isn't some water or factory ready juice. No, your focus was the milk flavored section. Choosing between Strawberry and Mango, you grabbed both since you like mango and strawberry as well.
You thought that you have enough money to pay for your stuff, you were surprised by how much the foods cost as you couldn't believe how it exceeded your allowance. Worst part of all this is, is that you forgot your wallet back at home and your pocket money is only for 26175.00 won. the total food cost was 35678.00 won which was more than your pocket money. You had no choice but to remove what wasn't necessary as you choose the strawberry filled bread and Mango milk drink. This was a giant bet as you weren't sure what Minji really liked.
You left the store feeling a little dissapointed by yourself but nonetheless, you were still determined to apologized to Minji. You began to start the trail towards your home but a sudden though made you visit your mother's stall and saw her working alone. Your mother had own a small chicken stall near the neighborhood of your home as this small stall was the reason why you are attending school in the first place. You smiled entering the shop and greeted your mother with a happy demeanor as you hugged her warmly.
"Hey Mom."
"Oh. Y/n. How's school for you dear?"
"Preety boring. Nothing new."
"Really? Well have you had dinner yet?"
"Not yet."
"Why don't you sit down and I'll cook you some chicken wings."
"You don't have to Mom. I'm still full from the little snack I ate earlier."
You pulled away from her as your mother chuckled at your behavior. You then placed the food on of the store's table as you began to help your mother sweep the floor or even clean some tables. This was your task everytime you visit her stall as this was the least you can do to lessen her work load.
"Ah, By the way Mom."
"Hmm?"
"About Minji. I actually have no knowledge about her and I feel scared that I may fuck up my actions towards her."
It was a question that you really need an answer for and no one is better than to ask than your own Mother. She sighed a bit as she closed the cash register and looked at you.
"Doyoung told me that Minji suffered Aphasia due to bullying. She was seven years old when her school bully pushed her on a river and her head got hit on a rock. The doctors told him that Minji was lucky to survive the fall and hit on her head but it did cause her to lose her voice. Since then, Minji has been home schooled her life keeping her away from the harsh reality of schools."
That immediately saddened you as your shoulders slumped down and your facial expression showed nothing but sadness and pity. Minji wasn't just a shy girl, she was a traumatized girl that couldn't properly let go of her painful past. You finally realized what you did wrong towards her as she wasn't used to being complimented by other people beside her father. This also add that she must have been traumatized of people cheering for her thinking they were behind her when in fact, they couldn't care less about her.
Minji was just all to stunned to take everything that you did for her as she wasn't used in that situation at all. You sighed heavily as you smacked your head realizing how much of an idiot you were towards her.
"I'm so stupid! Damn it."
You cursed yourself for this kind of behavior but this also added more motivation towards asking for forgiveness towards her. So after a few minutes of fixing and cleaning up the place, your mother has closed the shop and both of you walked home. Upon arriving, you immediately went towards the supposed room of Minji. Your heart was beating fast and this made you feel anxious as hell. Sweats began to form on your forehead and hands as the nervousness began to take over your body. You took one deep breath and you mentally prepared yourself for what you will face.
You knocked on her door 3 times and called out her name.
"Minji, are you there? I.. I just wanna apologize to you."
There was a few seconds of silence and just when you were about to knock the second time, you heard the door click open as Minji peaked through door staring at you. You gulped as you realized how scared Minji is towards you. You mentally slapped yourself for being an insensitive prick towards a girl who's so afraid of the world around her. With a deep breath you bowed towards her in a complete 90° angle bow showing how sorry you were.
"I'm so sorry for acting so irrational towards you Minji. I didn't know that I scared you with my actions and I sincerely apologize towards you. I failed as a big brother and I would understand if you ignore me or even hate me because I deserve all of it. I didn't consider your feelings and that was a big problem from me. I have learned my lesson and I hope I can still be a good big brother towards you."
You were glad that you didn't stutter with your words as you hoped that Minji would get your point. But you were also afraid that you could have said too much for the girl. The silence that the atmosphere carried was so heavy that you couldn't help but look for a bit and you were suprised to see Minji crying while staring at you.
"Oh shit! Oh no, oh no. Oh no, oh no. What do I fucking do????"
You were completely scared as to why Minji suddenly started crying infront of you as you quickly fixed your posture and tried to think of the solution you could possibly do. But to your surprised, Minji wiped her tears and pulled out a pen and paper as she began writing on it and she showed you what she wrote.
"It's not my fault why you're crying? Then umm.. Why.. Did you suddenly cry?"
She began to write again then showed you after she was finished.
"I was just touched by what you did Oppa. No one has been this kind to me other than my father"
You wanted to cry as well seeing how harsh the world was towards Minji. She was such an innocent soul yet the world hated her for being such an angel. It was this day you swore to protect and help Minji get past her trauma of people and nothing will stop you from protecting her no matter what.
"Ah by the way Minji, I bought you snacks you might like."
You gave her the strawberry filled bread and the milk flavored drink as Minji squealed in delight. She jumped a little as she hugged you suddenly which caught you by suprised. Minji hugged you so tightly and felt the sincerity in her hug. You stroked the hair of Minji and chuckled happily.
TIMESKIP: 6 MONTHS
.
.
6 months have passed by and Minji has finally decided to enter a school near your own school where you attended. It was surely a suprised especially your step-father considering how much he didn't want her daughter to experience bullying anymore. But one part of him also wanted her daughter to have a normal student life outside of her own room and her decision was possible because of you as well.
During the months of you and Minji hanging out in the house, you would tell stories to Minji about your daily school life and the good times you did while being a student. Of course you removed some parts that could potentially trigger her trauma as you were very careful with your words. You would sometimes cut off your sentence and change the subject immediately especially when you realize that the words that will come out of your mind may make Minji uncomfortable.
Soobin and Yeonjun also found it weird how you were going home more earlier now than before but Soobin being the best wing man you have, would often tell him of the same excuse over and over again and Yeonjun would fall for it all over again and again.
All though your step father was against it at first, you helped Minji explain to him the importance of Minji attending school at least once in her youth especially since she's a teenager. It took sometime of convincing and a lot of Minji crying but your stepfather agreed to enroll Minji for one semester only. Even though it wasn't that long, Minji rejoiced as she hopped around with her tiny jumps and gave her father a warm hug.
Everything was going well for Minji for her first 2 weeks as she was all smiles and would tell you stories of her school experience in her notebook. But what really made you happy for her was when she told you of her friend Pham Hanni. She was also a transfer student from a different country and Hanni guided her through out the school. You could still see how happy she was when she told you about her first friend but that happiness could only last for a few seconds.
Minji has suddenly been going home lately and it also didn't help that you mother and step father has been into arguments a lot lately due to some financial issues regarding your step father's business. Of course you find it annoying how loud they could be but you feel more bad towards Minji as you have learned that she wasn't fond of arguments and fighting.
Things took a big dip as Minji was once again late to go home as you had enough of this and decided to check out her school and on what's she's been up to. As the final bell was rang, you picked up your bag and immediately left class which Yeonjun and Soobin was used by now as they just shrugged their shoulder at you. The walk towards her school wouldn't be much time consuming as it was just at best a 10 to 7 minute walk or if your sprinting, it would only take 2 minutes. Knowing that Minji's dismissal time was 30 minutes ahead of you, you were sure that Minji would be still in school so you arrived at their school gate looking for her. All the students eyes were on you as they didn't expect another student to enter their campus that easily.
Walking up the stairs of her classroom, you entered it and saw that Minji was nowhere to be found but there was a few students that was still in the room that could tell you where Minji is. Particular, you saw a bunny looking girl who was staring at you intently.
"Excuse me but have you seen Kim Minji?"
"Minji? She went out earlier with that jerk Haesul. Well technically speaking, him and his circle called Minji out."
Furious, anger, murder, genocide. All of this emotion was rilled up into you as your fist turn into a ball and your eyes showed fire in em. The girl felt scared at your murderous face as you asked her where they could be.
"T-They could be at the back side of the school near the trash area..."
You noticed how scared the girl looked at you as you sighed and calmed your nerves down. Minji was in danger but there was no reason for you to be angry at someone who has no affiliate with the assholes.
"I'm sorry for scaring you. But what's your Name?"
"Pham.. Pham Hanni."
"Pham Hanni? Ah! The girl that Minji told me all about. Thank you for being her friend."
You sincerely bowed at the girl who was shocked by you sincerely as she just waved her hand off at you.
"It's okay Oppa. I should be the one apologizing for not doing anything to stop those jerks from approaching Minji. I'm so sorry."
You could only chuckle at the girl and smile at her. You know very well that Hanni was also a shy girl like Minji so having a confrontation would also be too much for her.
"It's alright Hanni. You don't have to worry about it. I'll take care of this problem."
You smiled and left the classroom looking for Minji as your eyes darted everywhere observing and noticing the small details of their school.
"For a middle school class, this sure looks prestigious. How come there's bullying here?"
That was your thought until you finally saw Minji being cornered by 5 guys. Your blood boiled immediately as your animalistic instinct kicked in.
"Come on Kim Minji, if you don't answer me then we're dating."
Haesul said as his friends cheer him on. He was basically taking her disability to his advantage as Minji was scared for her life. Her knees were shivering and her heart was beating so fast. She could feel her head spinning from the amount of stress she was facing and her vision was slowly doubling.
"Hey since you're quiet, that means we're dating right? Right? Then I should kiss you to seal the deal right?"
His friends started to cheer him on as this only made her more anxious than before. Her trauma began to climb back up her mind as Haesul smirked and was inching himself closer to her. He didn't leave any space for Minji to breath as Minji closed her eyes as she screamed out the name in her mind the person she wanted to see.
"Y/N OPPA!!!!"
.
.
.
.
.
.
.
.
.
"Oi, what do you think your doing to my sister?"
You pushed the face of Haesul off Minji immediately and pushed him away giving them space which Minji was so glad to have. She opened her eyes and there she saw a familiar back. The back that she adored so much and the back that will always protect her. She began to sob silently as her tears began to slowly descend her cheeks.
"Hey, who do you think you are?"
Haesul asked as he looked you up and down which you didn't back away from. In your mind, they were in a teenage phase where they think they can take on anyone. You also have to be careful considering you were a high schooler and not a middle school student unlike them.
"Her brother obviously, now back off."
You tried your best to intimidate them yet they didn't falter. They only laughed at you finding it amusing that her brother was defending her.
"Listen pal, me and Minji are a thing. And you're-"
"Who?"
This made Haesul scoffed as he didn't expect you to cut him off so easily. His patience was slowly dying down.
"Me, Haesu-"
"Asked."
You once again cut him off and this time, he didn't take it lightly as he punched your face in annoyance. Minji widen her eyes in pure horror as she watches her precious brother eat a punch to his face. You wanted to retaliate immediately after that punch but you held back as fighting a middle schooler would be an embarrassment for you. You fell unto the floor but stood up and even smirked at him.
"That all you got kid?"
"You bastard-"
.
.
SMACK
.
.
"Kids I tell yah, they think their inferior or something sometimes."
Yeonjun spoke making you look behind you and seeing Him and Soobin standing together. Yeonjun's drink was splashed into Haseul's head and it's remains was slowly walking down his face.
"Yeonjun, Soobin? What are you two doing here?"
Soobin sighed and pointed at Yeonjun.
"This bastard wanted to see you so we followed you and here we are."
You were grateful for their rescue as this was an opportunity for you to take Minji out of this mess. You grabbed her hand and both of you began to walk away as you said
"Can you two give them the old Special? They messed someone important to me."
Soobin sighed while Yeonjun smiled like a maniac.
"Suuure~"
"Alright, I won't let that slide anyway."
Both Yeonjun and Soobin said respectively as you gave them a nod while pulling and holding the hand of Minji. You wanted to get the clear picture of what's really going on. Minji can clearly see how mad you are as this made her feel bad for herself. She stopped walking which also made you stop on your tracks. You looked back and saw Minji crying softly as this broke your heart. You hated seeing Minji cry or sad as you let go of her hand.
"Minji I... I'm sorry. I didn't know you were being bullied and-"
Minji didn't let you continue as she suddenly hugged you tightly as she cried her heart out. You didn't know why she was crying this much but you just relate it back to her being bullied. But in reality, she felt so sorry for you because you had to save her and you even got punched back. She hated herself for what happened earlier but she was also grateful for saving her back then. Her heart was beating so fast and she was so flustered being this close to you but she didn't care. All that mattered for her right now is that she was in your arms comforting her.
.
.
TIMESKIP: 3 MONTHS
.
.
Ever since that accident, Minji has changed rather weirdly towards you. Everytime you would arrive home, she would hug you tightly and wouldn't let go for a minute. She has also been very clingy towards you either it be playing video games, eating your food or even reading a book. She would either give you a back hug which she will stay for a long time or she would hug your arm and watch you play your video game or sleep on your shoulder.
You don't mind Minji being clingy towards you but you just find it weird how she's acting towards you. Especially sometimes she would sneak into your bed and snuggle with you. You find this action very weird but you just let her as everytime you would push her away, she would only cling to you tighter. It was a losing game if you fight her off so you just let her be and sleep.
Although your relationship with Minji was great, your parents wasn't. Their arguments has become more often which lead to Minji leaving the table and sleeping at your room and clinging towards you. You could only sigh at them and their argument has finally come to a close when the two decided to have a divorce. Upon hearing this, you were sadden because the reason why they were arguing was something they can't control.
Apperently, your stepfather was setup to marry a woman he doesn't even love due to his business. He tried to fight for his love towards your mother but in the end, he lose the battle. He apologized to you and your mother sincerely as he admitted that your mother will always have a place in her heart. It was heartbreaking especially Minji who cried all night not leaving her room at all. You tried your best to convince her but to no vail. It also didn't help that after announcing their divorce, they were to leave the household the next day.
The dreadful day finally came as Minji finally came out of her room looking tired and lifeless. She moved towards her father's car with no motivation as all you can do was watch from afar. You clenched your fist as this was now or never. You have to say your goodbye to her.
"Hey, Kim Minji."
Calling her out made her finally look at you as you tried your best not to feel sad for her. With a deep breath you said
"I'll never forget you Minji. I'm sure we'll see each other again. For now, this is goodbye but someday this goodbye will turn to hello and we would be smiling to each other again."
You assured Minji that you two will see each other again and the possibility of having a reunion is always possible. Your warm smile radiated so much as Minji will surely miss it. Minji smiled back knowing this was the last time you'll be seeing her smile warmly at you.
TIMESKIP: 5 YEARS LATER
"Fuck this. I can't even finish this one subject."
You sighed as you and your 2 college buddies wore a boring and exhausted face as the test earlier really drained your energy.
"That test is straight up bullshit. How can He give questions that are not even taught to us? Like how? What the hell?"
Felix, your first friend said as you nodded your head.
"Yeah shit mate, tell me about it ey. Being dumb and unattractive is a painful combination to have. I mean look at us mate, we're dumb and no girlfriend."
Christopher Chan, your second friend said as you scoffed at his comment. Sure you had your few runs on some blind dates but it all ended in vain as nobody was able to click your interest. Not only that, but the subjects you were taking in university had taken a huge toll on your time.
"But I did hear a new student in campus is beautiful as fuck. Some are even saying she's sculpted by the gods."
Felix explain the rumor that was going through around the campus lately. Of course you were caught by this rumor as you would be lying if you say that you weren't interested in such topic. Chan just scoffed and said
"Ain’t no way Mate. That's just a rumor ey. If that is true then I'm betting my Straykids Photocard right now."
Felix smirked and nodded his head.
"Alright, I'll bet my Izone Chaewon photocard for that."
"Oooh it's on mate-"
The two shook hand behind you as they glared one another as if they were ready to go to war at each other. You on the other hand was lost in your thoughts as a sudden memory of Minji appeared on your head. There was no moment where you can't forgot about the time you and Minji spent together. There would be times where you would ask yourself if Minji was alright and doing well. It's been 5 years since you last saw each other and there was no form of communication between you two. There was fear within yourself that Minji must have forgotten about you considering it wasn't even a year since you two met and made memories.
"I wonder what's Minji doing now. She would probably be in college right now as well."
You could only sigh as you continued to walk leaving your two friends arguing with each other. You enjoyed the silence of the campus as the soft breeze pass by the threes. It's cute whistle was good music in your opinion-
"Y/N Oppa?"
You turned your head towards the voice was and you widen your eyes. You stood frozen to your feet as a girl stared at you. Something about her seems so familiar yet you couldn't pin point it.
"M-Minji? I-Is that you?"
Upon hearing your voice. Minji smiled brightly and dashed towards you hugging you tightly. The familiar feeling of comfort and sweetnes returned to you as memories flashed through your mind. Minji was back in your arms and was able to-
"Wait Minji, you can talk now?"
Minji pulled away from you as her smile never disappeared from her face. She nodded her head vigorously indicating that your assumption is correct.
"Yes, My Dad found a really good doctor in America and with enough therapy, I got my voice back."
"That’s... That's awesome! Your-mmhpjh?"
Minji placed a finger on your mouth telling you to shut it as she giggled and removed it. Seeing Minji again for so long made you see how beautiful she really was.
"Oppa. Do you have a girlfriend?"
"What? What do you mea-"
"No, actually I don't care if you have one or even if it's a 3D woman. I'm gonna steal you from her."
Now that was a bold statement coming from her.
"Wait Minji. Did your personality changed too?"
"Hmm? Nope. I love you Oppa. Be my boyfriend."
"Wait what?"
You were stunned to speak yet Minji smiled happily and to add more suprise, She kissed your cheeks leaving you a blushing mess. She could only giggle at your red tomato head and flustered face.
"Since we're no longer Step siblings. I'm legally allowed to marry you. And for the record, I actually fell in love with you when you saved me from those bullies before.”
Her smile never disappeared yet you were to perplexed to say anything. You also found it very weird how your heart was racing to the max and Minji was now looking more prettier than before. When you finally got your senses back, the first words that came out of your mouth was
“You like me?”
She giggled and nodded her head.
“Shall I prove it?”
Minji closed the gap between you and her as she grabbed your cheeks and pulled you down to her level and kissed your forehead. Butterflies and fireworks was all over your body as you felt explosions everywhere. Minji has changed as the shy cute girl was gone and infront of you was a more mature beautiful version of Minji.
 “Let's go Oppa. Help me around Campus will yah? hehehe~"
Without even saying a thing, Minji hooked her arm around yours and pulled you away from your spot. You were taking everything in but if there was thing on your head, it was that.....
"Minji likes me? And I think.....I like her too...”
Tumblr media
Beauty queen of only eighteen, she had some trouble with herself He was always there to help her, she always belonged to someone else I drove for miles and miles, and wound up at your door I've had you so many times, but somehow I want more
You had met Lewis a few months ago at the Paris Fashion Week. He was there for the Valentino show as their guest; you, instead, were one of the models chosen to walk the runway.
You didn’t know he’d be there; you were walking down the catwalk when you saw him sitting in the front row, his eyes staring at you. You continued to walk as if nothing had happened, but it was the first time you saw Lewis since breaking up with Charles, your ex, F1 driver and also Lewis’ colleague.
Later that day, you had seen him at the after party organized by Valentino. As he walked towards you, part of you wanted to run away. Seeing him brought back so many memories, as it was hard to see Lewis and not to think about Charles. And that was the last thing you wanted, after it had taken you long to forget him and move on with your life. But Lewis wasn’t to blame for what had happened with your ex. You could see that he seemed visibly happy to see you again and you couldn’t deny that you were too.
You had always liked Lewis, he wasn’t just one of the best drivers in the world but he was also a good person and when you used to go to races, you liked talking to him. Even if he was a 7-time world champion, he had remained a humble and sensitive person, as well as very intelligent. And yeah, he was also extremely handsome.
You didn’t keep yourself update on Formula 1 anymore, not as you used to do once, but from what you had heard, you knew he wasn’t doing well as in the past and you feel sorry for him. He didn’t deserve it. Despite that, his face lighted up when he saw you and in the end, you stayed.
Not much in the mood to celebrate, you ended up walking the streets of Paris, chatting and enjoying the beauty that the city had to offer you. Even though he must be curious and have questions about the end of your relationship with Charles, especially when everything seemed to be fine, Lewis didn’t touch the subject even once and you were secretly grateful to him. Later, like the gentleman he was, he had accompanied you to the hotel and greeted you on the cheek.
The next day you had found a big bouquet of roses in your room sent by Lewis. There was also a note in which he thanked you for the beautiful night and that he hoped to repeat it again and as soon as possible. Deep in your heart you wanted it too.
A few weeks later, while you were getting ready for a photoshoot, you were scrolling your Instagram when some pictures captured your attention. Your eyes filled with tears but you immediately chased them away as you didn’t want to ruin your makeup. You took a better look at the photos. They portrayed your ex with a girl. He was smiling and seemed happy. You, on the other hand, were hurt but angry as well.
As your heart broke into a thousand pieces, his words played on repeat in your head, which now appeared to be more lies than anything else. Suddenly everything seemed clearer to you. He hadn’t left you because he wanted to focus on his career as he had said. He just didn't love you as much as you did. As much as you still did, you needed to recognize, and those photos proved it. Despite the pain you felt, you ended up putting your best smile for the photographer, showing professionalism and dedication to your job as always. You had worked hard to get where you were and weren't going to let your past ruin it. Fuck him, you thought. I’ll focus on my career too now.
At the end of the photo shoot, when you were back in the dressing room, a message was waiting for you. You face lit up as you saw it was from Lewis and smiled even more seeing what he had written.
Hey
Are you okay?
After that night you started keeping in touch. Even with different time zones and being almost always on the other side of the world, there was no day you didn't talk or send texts to each other. He had also invited you to go to some races but you had declined. You weren’t still ready for that. And to see him.
A few months later you had finally met Lewis again. After your success at the Paris Fashion week, you had become very popular in the world of fashion and beyond. Everyone – the most important fashion houses, magazines, and lots of brands – wanted you, including Anna Wintour, who had invited you to the Met Gala. You couldn't wait to go to one of New York's most exclusive events, especially knowing that Lewis would have been there too.
He originally proposed you went together but you politely declined. Even if you wanted to go out on a date with Lewis, the Met Gala wasn’t the right place and the right time. Everyone would have seen you and talked about you two. You wanted people to talk about you for who you really were and for what you did, not because you were with the 7-time world champion. You didn't want history to repeat itself.
When you and Charles had broken up, soon after your career had started to take off and many had insulted you for that. They thought you had used the Monegasque only for fame and that when you had gotten what you wanted, you had just left him. If only they knew how wrong they were, you thought. The truth was you didn’t want to leave him, he just didn’t give you choice.
“There isn't much to say. We simply wanted different things and we both need to focus on our career”, he had said when a journalist had asked him about your break-up.
Yeah, you wanted to focus on your career and I… wanted to be with you. But apparently, I wasn’t in your plans anymore, you had thought at the time.
As you walked the red carpet at the same time as Lewis, you could feel his eyes on you while posing for photographers. Given your previous relationship, the others knew that you and Lewis knew each other, so you quickly said hello to each other.
“You are beautiful tonight”, he whispered in your ear, as you kissed him on the cheek. You smiled at his words.
Later that night you invited him to your place where, between the covers of your bed, you got to know each other better.
After that whenever he was off, Lewis was often in the States or joined you wherever your job brought you only to see you. It was good for him, you were good to him. The time he spent with you helped him get distracted and not think about what happened on track.
Things between you quickly became serious and you could say you were secretly dating. In fact, no one knew about you two and in some ways, it was simpler that way. On the other hand, even if he was patient and willing to wait, Lewis wanted to make things official as soon as possible and tell the whole world the truth. That you were his. And most of all he wanted and needed you by his side during races. You knew that sooner or later that was inevitable. But you were afraid of what people would have thought and said.
Also, you wanted to talk to your ex before going public with Lewis. You didn't owe him anything, but Lewis was still Charles’ colleague, and you didn't want things between them to get tense because of you. That’s why you were holding your phone and looking at Charles’ number. Again. Shortly after your breakup, you had erased it just as he had erased you from his life but you still remembered it. Like so much else, it was engraved in your mind.
You kept staring at the phone hoping the call would go off by itself. On one hand, the very idea of hearing him, even just on the phone, terrified you; on the other side, you terribly wanted to hear his voice.
You were having a déjà vu as you have already experienced this situation, months ago when after your breakup you spent most of your time waiting for him to call you or hoping he would. But you never heard from him again. It was also for this reason that you were hesitant to call him. Calling him first would’ve been like admitting defeat. And you didn't want to lose any more. You had already lost too much.
You ended up never calling him. And soon it’d be no longer necessary.
A few weeks later, in fact, you were entering the paddock at the Grand Prix of Austin. When Lewis had had an accident during the qualifying the day before, you had decided to join him to check on him and cheer him up. You wanted to be there for him as he had been there for you.
You had originally planned to stay at the hotel watching the race from there, but in the end, seeing how frustrated and demoralized Lewis was, you had decided to go to the Grand Prix. You knew he needed you there. And in fact, when you had told him about your decision, he had instantly become the happiest man alive as that really meant a lot to him.
Since you still wanted to be discreet, you hadn't arrived with Lewis and hadn’t used the main entrance. As you reached the Mercedes hospitality where Lewis was waiting for you, you hoped no one would recognize you. More than anything, though, you hoped you wouldn't meet Charles. Not yet at least.
Seeing the red building, the Ferrari hospitality, memories crossed your mind. It was strange not to enter it and to be there under those new circumstances; you almost felt like a stranger, an intruder. Yet for a long time that place had been like your home and you had been very happy there.
You were so deep in your own thoughts that it took a few seconds before you heard a voice calling you.
“Y/n? Is it really you?”
You froze. The hairs on the back of your neck started to rise, and you feel your cheeks getting warm. Even if your back was turned, you knew who that voice belonged to and as much as you wanted to run away, you turned around to face him. You could see the driver was visibly surprised and confused to see you.
“Ehi, Pierre. It’s good to see you again. How are you?” You forced yourself to smile at the French driver and hugged him. Actually, you had no problem with Pierre and part of you was happy to see him again, the fact was that of all the possible people, with the paddock full of people, it was him you had crossed paths with. Pierre Gasly, F1 driver and one of Charles’ best friends. If you had had any hope of going unnoticed, without Charles knowing you were there, you had lost it entirely now. Meeting him was like meeting Charles since he’d tell him that he had met you.
“I’m good, are you? But what are you doing here? Wait, are you and Charles…” You didn’t let him finish the sentence.
“No, we’re not”, you quickly said. After that you didn’t know what to say, so you simply told the truth. Sort of. “I was invited... Mercedes invited me. I’m their guest.” It wasn't entirely a lie but it wasn't the truth either.
Pretending to look at the clock, you continued. “Actually, I should go as I’m already late. But it was really good to see you, Pierre. Good luck for the race and be careful!”.
While you entered the Mercedes hospitality as quickly as you could, Pierre looked at you confused. You, on the other hand, breathed a sigh of relief once inside.
-
“Are you really sure it was her, Pierre?” Charles’ mind was racing as he couldn't believe what his friend just told him. He didn't know whether to hope Pierre was right or not.
“Mate, I know it seems unbelievable but I’m not going crazy or hallucinating. I told you: it was her.”
Charles fell silent and seeing his friend speechless, Pierre continued. “You know when I saw her I got a little offended because for a moment I thought you secretly got back together and didn't tell me anything.”
“It isn’t…", Charles quickly corrected his friend. "...Even if I wish it were.” He didn't want to say it at first, as it was hard for him to admit it but if there was anyone he could talk to about it, that was definitely Pierre.
Pierre could hear the sadness in Charles’ voice and he knew his friend wasn't the same since you two broke up, despite all his success.
“Well, then you might have your chance to get her back. Go talk to her”, Pierre suggested.
“I can’t, Pierre. I never even called her or looked for her… And even if I did, maybe she moved on.” Even if he was saying it, Charles hoped it wasn’t true but at that moment, he realized something. “Did you say she entered into the Mercedes hospitality?”, he continued.
Pierre nodded not fully understanding why he was asking, while Charles couldn’t come to terms with what he just thought.
“Wait, George is with Carmen and Lewis… You don't think the two are together, right?”, Pierre asked as he had finally connected the dots too.
“I don’t know, Pierre. But it’s strange that she’s here, moreover as a guest of Mercedes, when in all these months she has never come once. Why right now?”
Pierre looked at his friend not knowing well what to say.
“And then you'll remember Lewis has always had a crush on Y/n… I certainly haven't forgotten the way he looked at her when we were dating”, Charles said while jealousy taking hold of him.
“Of course, he had, Charles. I too had a crush on her, everyone had. She is stunning, smart and funny. But I don't need to tell you that, you yourself know it very well”, Pierre said.
Yeah, Charles perfectly knew that.
“Maybe it’s something related to her job. It wouldn’t be the first time that top models come to see a F1 race and then, you know Lewis is into fashion”, Pierre continued.
“Yeah, I know. And maybe he is into her too”, Charles said. The more he thought about it, the more convinced he was. Pierre’s words played on repeat on his mind. You know Lewis is into fashion, he had said. They could have gotten closer through fashion, Charles thought. Lewis used to attend some fashion show and Charles remembered seeing a photo of you together during a party a few months ago. You were just talking in the picture, nothing more but the sight of you together had been enough at that time to make him jealous. He should have been the one with you, not Lewis. But he was the only one to blame if you weren’t with him. He had sent you away. And for what? He had given up on you to focus on his career and chasing fame, victory and even if he had actually won everything and that had been one of the best year of his entire career, he had lost the most important thing in his life: you. And he couldn’t forgive himself for that. All those awards meant nothing if you weren't there with him. In the end, if he had gotten there where he was, it was also thanks to you. You had loved him and supported him before he became Il Predestinato.
What if you had actually moved on?, Charles thought. He couldn't bear to think it was true, least of all with Lewis. The very idea was unbearable to him.
He looked at his clock. There was still time before the race started. Pierre was right, he had to do something, at least he had to try. Even if he had to race later, Charles had a bigger race to run at that moment: he needed to win you back.
-
You were behind the Mercedes hospitality smoking a cigarette as you waited for Lewis to finish his debrief and join you before the race to spend some time together. As you needed some air, you had decided to go out.
You were surprised but at the same time disappointed you hadn't seen Charles yet. You didn’t know what you really wanted. Part of you wished to see him and his reaction at the sight of you; on the other hand you were scared that you wouldn't see any reaction from him. It’d mean that he didn’t care about you anymore. And that would have broken your heart. Again and again.
You were smoking to try to calm yourself and yet all you could do was think about him and distress yourself. It wasn't good for you to be alone, so you decided to go back inside. You threw the cigarette away and turned around. But you froze immediately.
There he was, your ex-boyfriend standing in front of you and looking at you intensely. You, on the other side, were unable to say or do anything. How long had he been there?, you asked yourself. Why was he there? Was he walking and saw you by chance? Or was he looking for you?
After what it seemed an eternity to you, he broke the silence. “I thought you quit smoking”, he said pointing at the cigarette on the floor.
Yes, you had. But you can't say no to certain vices for too long.
“Hello to you too, Charles. And yeah, I did but I still smoke sometimes. Occasionally. For example, when I’m nervous”, you explained saying too much and exposing yourself. Why were you explaining yourself to him? You don’t have to. He is nothing to you, you thought.
He was approaching you, so you took a step back until you were pinned against the wall. “Are you nervous now, Y/n?”, he teased you. He knew what he was doing to you. Just hearing him talking was enough to turn you on.
“No, I’m not”, you lied. You were just dying inside.
Charles looked at you better. God, how beautiful you are, he thought. Even if you were wearing just a top, a pair of jeans and sneakers, you were breathtaking. Simple but beautiful, as he always liked you and he couldn't take his eyes off you.
He smirked noticing the color of you top. “I can see you still wear red”, he said.
Fuck, you thought. With a closet full of clothes, you made the choice to wear a red top that remembered Ferrari. How did you not think about it? Force of habit, you thought. When you and Charles dated, you always used to wear something red during race weekend as a sign of support towards him.
On the other side, Charles loved to see you in that color, even now that you weren’t together anymore. It didn't just say who you rooted for but also who you belonged to: his and no one else's. And the fact that you were wearing it when you were probably with Lewis made him smile and turned him on. Maybe there is still hope, Charles thought.
You shook your head, fully aware of what he really meant. “It’s just a color”, you simply said. But it wasn’t and you knew it. Deep down you were still rooting for him. You always would have.
You looked away, unable to hold his gaze as his eyes roamed over your body and how they darkened as he took in the details, the tension building up. Charles knew you were lying, he knew you too well.
Pinned against the wall with his hands to the side of your face, he put a lock of hair behind your ear.
There were a million things Charles wanted to tell you, to ask you – important things – but in the end jealousy got the better of him. “What are you doing here, Y/n?”, he asked and kindly grabbed your chin, forcing you to look at him.
The time had come, you thought. That moment you had been waiting for but at the same time postponing for so many weeks, it was there. Now or never, you thought. You had to tell him about Lewis.
“I’m here for Lewis”, you whispered.
So, I was right, Charles thought. You are here for Lewis, there is something between you. But what? Even if he already knew the answer, he had to try, get to the bottom of the matter.
“That’s nice of you. It’s important to be there for friends. Can I be your friend too?” Charles knew he was going too far but he couldn't resist, his eyes studying your face for some kind of clue. Anything that confirmed that you were just friends.
You rolled your eyes and ignoring his question, you got straight to the point. “Charles, we aren’t friends. I mean, yes, we are but not just that. We are dating, actually.”
A sigh expelled past his lips, his head hanging low so you couldn’t see his eyes.
Charles’ mind was racing as he couldn’t come to terms with what you just told him. His worst fears had come true. He had lost you. No, it couldn’t be, Charles thought. That couldn’t be the end.
“Really? With a Mercedes guy, Y/n? That’s not your place”, he said looking back at you.
You had never seen that look on his face before, it portrayed… Anger? Maybe. Annoyance? Also. But there was something else too. Jealousy. He was jealous.
Even if his jealousy pleased you because it meant he still felt something for you, you still got angry at his words. Who did he think he was to say that?, you thought.
“And let’s hear, what would be my place, uhm, Charles? Where?”, you challenged him.
Seeing that he didn't speak, you repeated the question and started beating him on the chest. “Come on, answer, coward!” You didn’t care if people were hearing you. You had waited too long for this moment.
He grabbed your wrists, stopping you. Your eyes, filled with tears, peered up at him, waiting for his answer. “With me… Your place is with me, Y/n.”
Even if you felt a tingling and loving feeling at his words and you’d be lying if you said you didn’t want that your place was with him, you couldn’t forget how badly he had treated you. How could you believe him after what he had done to you? How could he look straight in your face and say that? How?, you asked yourself and got even angrier if possible.
“With you?”, you joked. “After you kicked me out as soon as you had everything you wanted and when you didn't need me anymore? Are you serious, Charles?”, you asked him and sighed.
He glanced away, unable to look at you as he felt ashamed. He let your wrists and sighed. “I made a mistake, okay? I thought I needed to focus on my career and that to do so I had to leave all distractions aside, but I never…”
“So now I was just a simple distraction, Charles?” You felt your chest tighten as you let out a sob, you couldn’t hold back the tears anymore. “You know, I think I've heard enough. You're not the only one who made a mistake because I too thought you loved me and instead evidently......”
He didn't let you finish as he pushed you against the wall again and pressed his lips on yours. After the initial shock and even if you were angry with him, you didn't even try to resist him and kissed him back. His mouth was warm and soft. The kiss was nothing gentle and light, but intense and his hands were moving to squeeze at your waist, pulling you closer, and you completely melted into him. Even if all those months you had said otherwise, the truth was you had missed him, his touch on you… all that.
Even though you knew it was wrong towards you, towards Lewis especially, you didn’t stop him, you just enjoyed the moment, the feeling of his lips on yours. It was intoxicating, but it was also the only thing you needed at that moment.
That kiss was worth a thousand words. It contained everything you hadn’t said, how much you had missed each other and how much you…
“I never stopped loving you, Y/n, and you were never a distraction. Never. I made a mistake putting you aside just as I made a mistake not looking for you when I realized what I had done but I was too ashamed. And then.. I thought I didn't deserve you, that you were better off without me”, he sighed.  “But I loved you, Y/n, and I still do. I know I don’t deserve it but if you feel the same, forgive me and take me back. Please”, he whispered, almost begging you.
… you loved each other.
You were speechless and your mind was racing, playing his words on repeat in your head. In all those months you hadn't wanted anything else, so many times you had imagined hearing him say those words and now he was finally saying them. But was it enough for you? After everything?
You were about to speak when you heard Lewis’ voice, scaring you to death. You and Charles quickly walked away from each other.
“Here you are”, the English driver said referring to you. “Hey, mate”, he said, greeting Charles.
Although you were scared to face him and were feeling incredibly guilty, you glanced at Lewis, he seemed relaxed but you didn't know how long he'd been there or what he'd heard. For all you knew, he might have heard all of it. You were too caught up in the moment to notice anything. What if he had actually heard it all and was faking it? You hadn’t said anything compromising, but you had kissed Charles back and that was enough to incriminate you. And even though he hadn't seen anything, you and Charles were too close for anyone to think you were just talking. Lewis wasn’t stupid and even if he was faking it, seeing your faces almost touching must have made him suspicious.
The last thing you wanted was hurting him, after he had treated you so well, showing you love and respect. But maybe it was already too late.
“Did I interrupt something?”, he asked.
You could feel the tension building up.
“No”, you quickly lied. “I went out for a smoke and we meet but he was leaving now.”
Charles looked at you, totally ignoring Lewis. This time it was you who was sending him away but he wasn't going to give up, not this time. That kiss had told him more than you were willing to tell him, at least not yet.
“Oh, that’s good. I imagine you had a few things to tell each other”, Lewis said.
You wondered if that was a way of saying that he had heard everything or simply an observation knowing what had happened between you and Charles in the past. You were about to tell him that you had told Charles about you and him but the Monegasque driver preceded you.
“Yeah, we had and by the way, she told me about you two”, he said finally looking at Lewis.
“Oh, well. This is a little embarrassing… But I hope it’s not a problem for you, for us.”
“No, it’s not. Just be smarter than me and treat her well”, Charles said surprising you. You looked at him. Was he letting you go? Was he giving up on you again?, you asked yourself.
You knew it was the right thing for you, especially if you wanted to make things work between you and Lewis, but part of you wanted to do nothing more than run into Charles’ arms and tell him to never leave you again. That you were his. Maybe you rushed things too far with Lewis… Maybe it wasn't too late for you and Charles,you thought.
“Oh, don’t worry. She will be loved”, Lewis exclaimed letting both of you speechless.
But in the end, Charles’ words weren’t enough for you, they couldn’t be. You needed something more and Lewis was willing to give it to you.
I don't mind spending every day Out on your corner in the pouring rain Look for the girl with the broken smile Ask her if she wants to stay a while And she will be loved And she will be loved
